Ouhhhh friendship I love friendship……..
#I’m reading volumes 14-16 of the ouran manga OOUGHHH MY HEART#I love this weird little friend group so much its unreal#like u have this charming sweeps you off your feet prince but he’s actually a huge lovable idiot with a kind heart and his friends#who are all misfits that he reached out to and drew in because of his kindness and own weirdness like that shits TIGHT BRO#and the trauma part where he has some deep seated issues with love bc he thinks that itll break a family apart like with his mom#how his family isnt allowed to be together because his mom and dad fell in love and how he says he wants to build a big house#so that way one day everyone will get along as a family like. all he wants is not to lose everyone and the only way to do that is#by maintaining a certain order.. he both wants a complete family so bad and doesnt want anything to sour between anyone#so he assigns each of his friends a family role based on how he sees them and YEAH its mostly played for giggles and tamakis#already weird so its his way of showing theyre close to him but. god damn this boy has LAYERS#it also feels kinda meta towards how found family tends to get thrown around to assign characters as 'siblings' or family roles instead of#using it to describe characters who are close enough to be each others family. cuz tamakis doing that EXACT THING in a way tht#ties in with his character and i have to say its fascinating using that within the story itself and its completely plausible#theres a lot of things i can say about ouran that are good bad and questionable but. god i love it when characters are niceys to each other#i remember i really liked the mall episode bc kyoya and haruhi got to spend time together and their relationship isnt very close#but it was really nice to see their personalities bounce off each other. i think i also wouldve liked to see haruhi alone with kaoru#i also firmly believe all of the hosts are at least a little in love with haruhi and this can be anything like endearing romantic cuz like#who DOESNT love haruhi. kyoya i think would want to study her under a microscope like his fascination with her draws him in#but im fucking obsessed with whatever haruhi and tamaki have going on because YES hes obsessed with her YES he jumps at the chance to#put her in a cute costume but haruhi? she just fucking goes with it because she knows hes fun to be around even if hes a little wacky abt i#theyre all so. "l/n? I'm sorry about the-" Kasanoda appears in the doorway and that's the last person you wanted to walk in at this moment... well, maybe except the twins. Or Honey.
In your shock, the clasp becomes loose and falls, but you're quick to clutch the bra to your chest and nothing is exposed but your back. You squeak, "F-Fuck! Get out!" You cave in on yourself.
"M-m-MA!"
Kyoya's Unwitting Irritation!
Neither you nor Kasanoda gather your wits enough to move away from each other's sight. You're entirely far too conscious about the open bra clasp behind you, pressing your bunched-up shirt to your chest as a last resort.
"Why are you still here?!" You squeak finally.
"Uh. My bad." Kasanoda bursts out of the door behind him, slamming himself onto the surface, shaking breaths heaving through his chest, head leaned against the door with eyes shut.
The moment he opens his eyes, Hikaru and Kaoru are towering over him with glowing, fury-filled eyes, "PEEPING TOM~!"
Kasanoda screams, bent legs trembling with fearful tremors.
"You saw her-"
"- didn't you, Bossa Nova?"
Kasanoda is quick to deny, "No! I didn't see! I mean, I caught a glance, yeah, but it was all so fast that I didn't- It was just an accident! I swear to you that I am not a pervert!"
You groan to yourself from inside of the prep room, quickly clipping your bra back into place and quickly locating your spare change of clothes. God, you can only imagine the furious look on the club's faces right now. If one thing's for sure, it's that the club can be silly and entirely moronic... but when it comes to either you or Haruhi, things get a little more intense.
You fumble with your button down, quickly slipping each button into its respective slot and stringing a new tie around your neck and hurrying to loop it into a knot.
Meanwhile, Honey's expression is unrecognizable in Kasanoda's eyes, "Of course you would say that. Sure sign of a guilty conscience." He says, shifting his stance to instill terror.
Kasanoda's voice trembles in terror and a knock comes to the door, "Senpai? Are you in there? Do you need help?"
You're relieved to hear Haruhi's sweet voice ringing in your ears, "Yes, Haruhi, come in, but be quick about it!" You urge, groaning as you incorrectly tie your tie for at least the third time.
She opens the door a crack and slips in, slamming it behind her, "Let me help." She rushes to your open bag and pulls out your blazer, unfolding it.
"S-So…Um, what're all the bruises on l/n's back about?"
"Oh shit." Your heart sinks, hands flying up to grasp aimlessly at your back and you spin around helplessly. Haruhi quickly steadies you.
"Whoa, whoa, Senpai, hold on." She pulls your shirt down over your back and grimaces, "Do they hurt?"
"Not so much anymore." You whine, shrugging your button down back onto your shoulders and finally looping your tie through the intended opening and tightening it around your collar.
"Red alert. He's sticking his nose where it shouldn't be stuck." Kaoru folds his arms behind his back, mirroring his brother, "That's not good."
"If he thinks Honey-Senpai is scary," You allow Haruhi to slip your blazer onto your shoulders, "he should wait until Kyoya gets a chance to talk."
Haruhi snickers, "Oh, boy, that'll be something."
"So, let's hear it." Hikaru demands.
"How much of her maidenliness did you actually see?" Kaoru inquires.
"Oh, God, we have to get out here." You button your blazer and adjust your sleeves.
"Well... she was changing so I saw her underwear... although her bra was kind of falling off-?"
"Don't say that." You hiss in a whisper, dusting off your lap.
"YOU SAW Y/N'S UNDERWEAR?!!!"
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" You whimper, pulling your hair out of your blazer and fluffing it along your shoulders.
"So what do we do?!" Kaoru growls.
"There's only one thing to do: we have to induce amnesia."
Kaoru leaps behind Kasanoda and holds him steady as Hikaru pulls out a concealed bat, "Hold him." Hikaru swirls his bat, one leg hiked and ready to swing.
Kyoya raises a calm hand, "That's enough, you two. Leave assault and battery to the professionals."
Kaoru groans, "What are you, made of ice?! How can you be so calm about this?!" He implies certain committed relationship circumstances.
Tamaki leans close to Kyoya's ear, whispering for only him to hear, "Kyoya! He practically saw your girlfriend nude, aren't you even a little bit upset?"
Although the notion irks Kyoya, he knows that by no means should he blame you for the incident. He takes a subtle breath in and out, mentally shrugging off the rush of different, angry emotions flooding his system.
"Well, now that certain events have transpired... let's talk." Kyoya adjusts his glasses with his index and middle finger, eyes becoming hooded in an intimidating narrowed glare.
Kasanoda gulps.
"What you've seen here today is not to be verbally shared or under any circumstances discussed with anyone outside of this group for y/n's own safety and privacy. While we can't physically force you to cooperate exactly, there is something I would like for you to bear in mind. Coming from the sort of family you do, I'm certain you hear all sorts of juicy little rumors. Enough to know what is true and what is not. Take the Ootori Family's private police force, the Black Onion Squad. It is said that they can be mobilized against our enemies in the blink of an eye."
Kyoya's intimidating glare relents, his head tilting upward to relinquish the glare making his glasses shine and his malicious smirk is replaced with a polite smile, "You have heard of them, right?"
You're quick to throw open the door as soon as you can, catching an almost visible glance of Kyoya's glowing aura of evil exuding from his person.
"Be reasonable, stop scaring Kasanoda. I'm sorry about them." You adjust your tie one last time as Haruhi follows you carefully.
"Hey, l/n..." Kasanoda's voice trembles.
"While I would appreciate your confidentiality... you don't have to listen to any of them." You throw a pointed glare in Kyoya's direction, whose gaze flips a switch from enraged to confused in a matter of seconds.
For whatever reason, a faint flush floods Kasanoda's cheeks and the bridge of his nose, painting his face a gentle red.
"Well, well, Bossa Nova." Hikaru all but growls with malicious intent.
"Now that you've seen her naked, are you in love?"
That possibility never made it into Kyoya's churning mind until it comes out of Kaoru's mouth. He can tell he's going to have a rough upcoming day.

The Host Club is now open for business
The next day, contrary to popular belief, has been entirely uneventful thus far. When it comes to activities pertaining to the Host Club, no extravagant theme has been prepared for today. It feels as though you've been bombarding the guests with far too many things to become invested in lately that you feel that you and the club should give them a break. Taking things back to the basics for at least a few days per week as always been part of the routine.
Amid the gentle chatter, you swing back and forth between tables, fulfilling beverage requests and offering refills to those who haven't made any requests.
When most of the guests' heads begin to glance upward, soft gasps of shock falling between parted lips, it prompts your own head to crane toward the door to see what all the fuss is about.
An all too familiar figure stands in the doorway, hands shoved in his pockets in an intimidating fashion.
"It's Kasanoda, from class D." A guest observes aloud.
"I heard he made himself Mori's apprentice."
"I wonder if that means he's training to be a host, too."
Kasanoda pays them no mind and wanders over to an empty sofa. He sits directly in the middle, hands propped on his spread knees and eyes cast to the floor.
"I'd... like to request l/n."
Most girls spring from their seats with shocked squeals and a number of questioning gasps.
"What is this?"
"Is he for real? She's not even a host!"
It would be an understatement to say that you're utterly confused. Is this another one of your dreams? If that's the case, your mind has gotten much more skilled in projecting realistic images.
The ground trembles under the sheer force of the powerful motor that raises Renge on her iconic platform, her shrill laugh reaching all ears.
"The genuine article. At long last!"
"Renge, is it true? Is he really-?"
"Could he really be-?"
You quickly spin on your heel, scurrying back to where the hosts reside and all but slamming your tray of teacups onto a nearby table. You dust off your uniform, adjusting your hair in the reflection of a teapot.
"What are you doing?" Kyoya appears behind you, arms crossed. You spin around to face him with a wide smile.
"I have my first guest! I have to look presentable." You ready a fresh tea set, dipping a new tea bag into boiling water and setting it aside to diffuse while you place new teacups onto a tray, along with a porcelain container of sugar.
"First guest?" Kyoya turns over his shoulder and spots Kasanoda, sitting on an empty sofa and patient awaiting the service of his girlfriend.
"Well, not guest... but he wants me! He wants me to go over there and act like a host!" You giggle gleefully, finally facing him head on with a giddy expression.
"But you're not a host, he can't just-" Kyoya gestures indignantly at Kasanoda.
"Please, Kyoya? Just this once? He just wants to talk, you don't have to charge him as an actual guest! Just let me do this... please?"
Your expression seems so hopeful that it actually wrecks Kyoya inside to turn you down. His shoulders slouch and he exhales heavily through his nose.
Kasanoda... isn't a real guest, Kyoya tells himself. You won't have to dote on him the way Tamaki would dote on one of his guests. He's just a visiting friend that has requested your company.
So why does Kyoya feel dread eating away at his soul?
"Fine. Go ahead." Despite his internal conflict... Kyoya revels in the squeal you let out when you scoop the tray into your arms and practically skip in Kasanoda's direction.
Tamaki is quick to approach Kyoya when you're out of earshot, "Are you really going to let her do this? Bossa Nova has no idea she's taken." He cautions as gently as he can.
Kyoya purses his lips, "I don't own her."
Tamaki nods. Kyoya makes an excellent point. You don't belong to Kyoya as a person, and if a guest requests you... it would be exceedingly rude to deny said guest in front of the remaining guests.
The notion of your debt briefly enters Kyoya's thoughts. But, you're not leaving the Host Club, so he has absolutely no right to hold that over you in this context. He simply has to sit idly by and watch you try and woo another man.
"Welcome, Kasanoda." You approach him with a cheerful smile, posture straight. You do your best to ignore the onlookers' watchful gazes as you take your seat beside him.
"So you're our guest today?" You inquire curiously, setting the tea tray onto the coffee table, arranging the teacups and their respective saucers.
Kasanoda does his best to keep a respectful distance, "Uh, that's right."
He observes you carefully, eyes trained on your side profile as you work quickly to prepare him and yourself a beverage.
Kyoya rolls his eyes; the nervous expression on Kasanoda's face is unmistakable. He's visibly struggling to keep his composure, jaw tight and teeth clenched. If Kyoya looks closely enough, he can see Kasanoda's legs trembling with earthquake like intensity.
"Care for tea? Do you take sugar?" You wait patiently for a response before moving to pour the tea.
Kyoya grimaces at your sweet, angelic voice that could enrapture the strongest-willed men and bring them to their knees at your will.
"Here, uh, let me help." Kasanoda reaches for the teapot. You pull away just in time, "Now, what kind of unofficial host would I be if I let you pour your own tea?" You tip the pot over and let the steaming tea fill the cup.
"So... l/n... you're looking pretty today."
Keeping your own composure, you feign a smile of pure innocence, "That's so cheesy! You're funny, Kasanoda." Might not be the best way to dodge flirting... but it is certainly a way.
Kasanoda's heart pulses, legs continuing to tremble under the shelter of the low table and away from your line of sight.
The twins glare a searing hole through Kyoya as he sits (seemingly) unbothered at an empty table, typing away at his laptop, "Hey, don't just sit there, Kyoya-Senpai. Get him out of here!" Kaoru pleads angrily, turning away from watching you interact sweetly with Kasanoda.
"If he's getting along with his goons so well now, why does he need to be here in the first place?" Hikaru bitterly shoves his hands in his pockets.
Heaving a sigh, Kyoya does not spare them a glance from his laptop monitor, "He's just like any other guest. He doesn't seem to be showing any outward signs of misbehavior, so I see no reason to eject him."
"He saw your girlfriend naked, for crying out loud!" Hikaru reminds.
"He's probably sitting there imagining it." Kaoru directs Kyoya's attention to Kasanoda's well-trained gaze on your figure as you pour him another cup of tea.
Kasanoda does seem incredibly tense, eyes not able to linger on you for too long and his muscles seem like they're under heavy restraint.
"Would you idiots mind your own business?" Kyoya sneers grumpily, fingers becoming much more violent when tapping his keyboard.
"But the other guests are afraid!" The twins resort to. A blatant lie.
"Oh, no, I think not."
One would have to be clinically deaf to not overhear the incessant conversation transpiring among the guests.
The twins turn over their shoulders to where Kyoya points; their guests are infatuated with the scene before them, unable to tear their prying eyes away from the pair, much to everyone's dismay.
"The look on his face is just priceless."
"I've never seen someone so in love before!"
Renge squeals, "Hello, Sumire? Forget about your stupid violin lesson and hightail it to the Host Club! I'm telling you, this is a one-in-a-million chance to witness something truly amazing!"
"Hello, Kurakano? You've got to get to the Host Club right now! If all goes well, we might have Kyoya's attention fully on the Host Club!"
The guests' intentions make themselves fully clear to Hikaru, Kaoru, and Kyoya. It's painfully obvious that you and Kyoya seem to harbor some sort of... feelings for each other, whether they know of your relationship or not. Clearly, the guests want Kyoya's attention back on them... and that means you need to be taken off the market. They hope to the listening stars above that Kasanoda manages to capture your attention.
Little do they know that you're already enraptured with a certain raven haired host... but they needn't know that.
"See? We're just fine." The twins would be fools to not be able to detect the strain in Kyoya's words.
"You money-grubbing enabler!" They curse, shaking their fists.
"Need a refill? Let me get on that!" You beam.
"Uh... thank you." Kasanoda's voice is considerably quiet and stiff.
"Oh, no. She's giving him the adorable smile-" Hikaru's voice trembles in fear.
"- the one which no man can resist!"
Kyoya knows exactly what Kaoru is referring to. There isn't a host that can ignore your infamous pleading simper. It's the same smile that convinced him to let you do what you're doing now- which he wholeheartedly regrets.
Honey giggles, "Wow. Usually you guys wouldn't waste any time interrupting the two of them." He observes expertly.
Hikaru sighs, "Yeah, but our hands are tied."
"y/n-Senpai would never forgive us if we screwed up her first attempt at hosting..." It's not secret how badly you want to be a member of the Host Club... not just work for the Host Club.
"Hey, Kyoya-Senpai, are you done pretending this isn't bothering you yet?"
"Yeah, we could really use your shadow king intimidation right now." Kaoru grumbles bitterly.
"I don't know what you're talking about. She's entertaining a guest, isn't that what we do here?" Kyoya shrugs. Though it comes difficultly with the heavy weight of dread on his shoulders.
"You're always the one telling her she can't be a host, Kyo-chan." Honey reminds with wide, innocent irises. Kyoya purses his lips.
"That's because-"
"Because you can't stand to see her with another man like that?"
Kyoya's voice of reason doesn't often come from the mouth of his blonde haired moron of a best friend. From where he's seated, Tamaki towers over him, head tilted in question.
Kyoya lets out an airy groan as he stands, shutting his laptop and tucking it under his arm, "I need y/n's input on this."
It's unclear as to what 'this' refers to, but none of the hosts have any time to inquire as Kyoya swiftly moves on, striding over to you and Kasanoda.
He approaches quietly, poorly hiding his irritated expression with the glare of light against his glasses, hand shoved in his pocket and brows slightly creased.
"Kyoya?" You tilt your head as he approaches. Kasanoda follows your line of sight, looking entirely unamused at the new presence, "Hm?"
"I was going over our next cosplay plans and realized that I lack your input, y/n." Kyoya pretends to flip through the empty pages of his notebook while glaring down at you, begging and pleading with his eyes that you'll take a hint.
"... can it wait? I'm in the middle of something." You cock a brow in genuine confusion.
Tamaki rests his forehead in his palm, watching from afar alongside the rest of the club, "Just say it, Kyoya..." He groans to himself.
Kyoya nearly huffs, "Considering there's much work to be done, I wouldn't say that it can." He musters up the most casual voice that he can.
You shrug, "Fine, then you can sit here and go over it. Anyways, as I was saying-"
Kyoya's heart drops to his stomach when he realizes that you're completely (unintentionally) overlooking his worries. He was hoping to speak with you alone and voice his discomfort but... he hadn't expected that response.
That's possibly worse than you insisting that he wait until later. The last thing Kyoya wants to do is literally sit idly by as you entertain a man who has seen the back of your bare upper body. Of course, Kyoya has been with you much more intimately. You've never... kissed Kasanoda or... you know, sat perched in his lap, tangling your fingers through his hair as you moved your lips so passionately against his-
Kyoya physically shakes his head, cheeks tinting slightly, but not noticeably. Nonetheless, Kyoya has never seen that much of your bare body, and he doesn't feel the need to ask you to show him... but it irks him that someone else has, accidentally or not.
Kyoya is shaken from his trance at the sound of your laugh, waving Kasanoda off as he's just said the funniest thing in the world. Kasanoda's blush deepens and Kyoya can practically read his thoughts by staring unwaveringly at his forehead. He's absolutely head over heels for you. That feeling is quite familiar to Kyoya.
"Good grief... why is he just sitting there doing nothing?" Hikaru crosses his arms, eyes trained on Kyoya's figure that writes in his notebook.
"I know he thinks he's smart and all... but he's kind of an idiot." Kaoru grumbles disappointingly.
"You've got that right." Tamaki assumes a similar position, leaning his weight against a nearby column as he watches Kyoya flounder internally.
"I didn't take Kyoya-Senpai for the jealous type." Haruhi appears at Tamaki's side, hands folded behind her back and peering up at Tamaki with curious eyes.
"I didn't take Kyoya for the dating type." Tamaki chuckles.
Haruhi nods slowly, processing the notion in her own way.
"I can't watch this much longer-"
"- it's getting painful." The twins nearly whine, peeking from their eavesdropping spot behind a separate column.
"And it's not helping that y/n-Senpai is so oblivious to his discomfort..." Haruhi grimaces.
"So, y/n..." Kasanoda's voice reaches your ears and you turn cheerily, adorning a smile and humming in acknowledgement.
"What's that scent you're wearing? It smells... nice." His voice trembles.
You grin widely, "Oh, thank you! I think it's Good Girl by Caroline Herrera... I really like it, it's very sweet but kind of spicy."
Kyoya nearly chokes. Where is the y/n that wouldn't tolerate a comment like that from the twins or Tamaki? His irritation is getting increasingly out of hand every time Kasanoda opens his mouth.
If this is Host y/n, his opinion toward letting you become one deteriorates all the more. He doesn't think he can handle Host y/n.
Kyoya thought that establishing a relationship with you would have prevented anything like the Karuizawa incident from happening. He can't let himself repeat that scene... he remembers the look on your face every time he would leave you stranded and he doesn't want to be the cause of that expression again.
"I wanna ask you something." Kasanoda interjects into Kyoya's thoughts indirectly. Although he's directing his inquiry to you, Kyoya's ears perk as he listens.
"Ask away." You encourage.
"Are... you into guys like me?"
You quirk a brow, "Huh?"
"Uh, oh..." Kaoru hisses, hidden mostly from sight.
"Kyoya-Senpai can't ignore that..." Hikaru purses his lips.
As if on cue, Kyoya's notebook shuts between his fingers with a loud snap! that gains both your and Kasanoda's attention. He stands to tower over the pair of you, glasses shining frighteningly as he adjusts them, notebook tucked under his arm.
"I'm not sure you understand what it means to be a guest here at the Host Club, Kasanoda."
"Oh, boy." You occupy yourself with pushing the teacups around on the tray pointlessly, lip tucked nervously between your teeth as Kyoya addresses Kasanoda coldly.
"What?" Kasanoda stands to meet Kyoya's height, although non-threateningly.
"Since y/n is too naive to tell you herself, I will." Kyoya opens his notebook with a professional tone.
"Finally, he's doing something about it."
"It states here in our rules that courting a host is strictly prohibited. Any attempts by a guest to court a host will be shut down immediately and said guest will be asked to leave, unable to return until further notice by the club's directive." With snap!, Kyoya closes his notebook again and tucks it under his arm, suppressing a smug smile.
"Go get 'em, Senpai!" Hikaru cheers from the sideline.
"Wait... what?" Kasanoda quirks a brow upward.
"I didn't think l/n was a host. Isn't she your manager?"
Silence. Kyoya internally falters, "She is our active manager, yes." He can only respond with the truth.
"That means she's not a host... right?" Kasanoda pushes further.
"No, I'm afraid not." Kyoya reluctantly admits.
"So what's wrong with trying to court her?"
Silence, once again. Kyoya bites his tongue behind his lips, teeth grinding and jaw working.
He adjusts his glasses, "Even so, I cannot allow you to pursue her in this way."
"Aren't the two of you just friends? Why do you care?"
"Oh, no." Hikaru sighs, frowning.
"He's painted him into a corner..." Kaoru whines.
If Kyoya admits that he's already taken you off the market by him in particular, the eavesdropping guests would be absolutely furious and would most likely plunge them into the depths of bankruptcy. You know that. Kyoya knows that. The entire Host Club knows that.
"Please excuse me."
As Kyoya turns on his heel to return to the remaining hosts, you feel the immense weight of guilt drop onto your shoulders and you frown, wanting so badly to call after him but you can't draw any more attention or suspicion to anything going on between the two of you.
"Senpai, that was rough-"
"- are you okay?" The twins are the first to cautiously approach Kyoya as he returns, soundly beaten.
Kyoya pinches the bridge of his nose, "I'm fine. He's right. To everyone else, we're simply friends, therefore I should outwardly have no problem with someone else pursuing her." He all but stumbles into an empty seat and props open his laptop, despite the club crowded around him.
Tamaki frowns, "I could tell y/n to ask him to leave..." He suggests, pity lacing his voice. Kyoya waves him off.
"No need, he's a paying guest after all." Kyoya opens a spreadsheet and begins diligent work.
Meanwhile, both you and Kasanoda peek over the back of the sofa, watching as the club gathers around Kyoya in his laptop corner as he pretends to work.
"You think everything's alright over there? I mean, I didn't say anything to set him off, did I?" Kasanoda worries, nervous sweat beading at his brow.
You chuckle apprehensively, "I don't think so." A blatant lie.
As the both of you return to your previous positions, Kasanoda speaks up yet again.
"l/n. Um." He leans toward you hopefully, "Do you think that we could maybe do this more often?"
You purse your lips at the question yet to come, tensing with dread.
"Because, I was just thinking, since you work for this club all day long it might kind of give you a break from all that. You know, if I came around."
Your eyes dart to the left, heart pulsing with sympathy at his concern for your well-being. You really think of Kasanoda as a sweet, considerate guy with good intentions... it's going to be difficult to reject his offer when the time comes.
"I mean if- if you want that, that is." He casts his eyes to the floor, occasionally sneaking glances at you from his peripheral vision.
You pull another innocent smile, eyes closing, "Sure thing! That way we could get to know each other better." You struggle with the acceptance, knowing that he isn't asking for anything too rash.
"Here it comes!" Renge shrieks, pupils shaped like hearts as she and the other guests wait patiently for Kasanoda's next words.
The Host Club waits on the edge of their seats as well, all uncharacteristically silent as they watch Kasanoda shake and fumble.
He leans closer to you still, "l/n, I-" Kasanoda stops mid sentence, heart beating strongly in his chest, lips unable to form words as he stares deep into your soul.
You squirm uncomfortably, gnawing on your lip and impatiently awaiting his next proclamation. The air encircling you both is tense, the atmosphere is sufficiently awkward.
Kasanoda grips the fabric of his pant leg with trembling fingers, deep in thought. He swallows hard as if preparing for the most frightening moment of his life, "I, uh, have something to say."
With every moment that he doesn't just spit out what he wants to say, another five or so years is taken off your life. You nod gently, encouraging him to just tell you whatever the hell he wants to tell you... and you have an intuitive thought as to what it is.
Watching intensely from the sidelines, Kyoya anticipates your response. Although he knows it's going to be along the lines of 'I don't have feelings for you,' he's still anxious as to how you're going to say it.
"I just wanted to tell you..." Kasanoda wonders if you can hear the intense beating of his heart through his chest. The tension grows thicker with the notion that everyone present in the room is watching carefully.
"I just wanted to tell you. That I'm-"
Oh, God, he's actually going to say it right here in front of everyone. Your mouth rushes to say something before your brain can catch up, squeaking out a semi-coherent interjection, "T-that you're glad to finally have someone to talk to!"
Trying your best to ignore the multitude of appalled faces that stem from your hurried response, you rise to your feet and slide a hand over the back of your neck, "I don't get many opportunities to practice being a host like this. We're going to be great friends."
You know the word sends a dagger straight through Kasanoda's fragile heart if his unmoving reaction is anything to go by.
"Uh, oh. Hung out to try." Renge grumbles, brows furrowed.
"He totally just got shot down!"
"He didn't even get a chance to profess his love!"
"Oh. The friends thing. That really stings!"
"I bet that rejection haunts him for the rest of his life."
"Aw, the poor guy."
"It's so tragic!"
Blow after blow on Kasanoda's pride and your guilty conscience in turn.
He turns from you, "Of course the two of us are going to be friends! Best of friends! Forever!" His voice strains considerably, as do his fingers on his knees.
You hum with a nod, allowing a relieved smile to tug at your lips with your hands folded behind your back.
Kyoya can't help the fond smirk that befalls his features, his shoulders slouching at the lack of tension in them, head tilting almost smugly.
"Bossa Nova!" Hikaru, Kaoru, and Honey burst into tears.
"Kasanoda!" The guests react similarly.
"Casanova!" Renge sniffles, whimpering, "How lovely! How absolutely beautiful!"
"You've moved us to tears!"
You can't say that you quite understand their reactions- perhaps it was simply mistaken by an act of bravery on Kasanoda's part. Nonetheless, you keep your distance from the swarming crowd of guests and hosts alike that begins to form around Kasanoda.
"We'll be your friends!"
"That was breathtaking!"
"Do it again!"
The twins shove their faces closely to Kasanoda's, "We want to be friends with you, too, Bossa Nova!" Hikaru sobs.
"Let's play kick the can!" Kaoru produces an empty can from God knows where.
"I know I'm your senpai, but I'll still be your friend! You can even hold Usa-chan!" Honey shoves Usa-chan against Kasanoda's cheek.
Renge's platform lowers back into the floor as she dabs her flowing tears, "Adieu, brave one!"
Meanwhile, Kyoya can't help but let out a laugh, returning haphazardly to his notebook with the shake of his head.
"What's so funny, Kyoya?" Tamaki teases, leaning his weight on Kyoya's shoulder with a knowing smile.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about how lucky I am." Kyoya offers him a small simper.
"How so?" Tamaki prys further.
"I could have easily suffered the same fate as Kasanoda when I was telling y/n how I felt." Kyoya shrugs.
Tamaki chuckles, "Ah, not so easily, my friend. I wholeheartedly believe that in any parallel universe, the two of you would have ended up together one way or another."
"You think so?" Kyoya's gaze falls onto you standing in the midst of the crowd around Kasanoda, looking so utterly confused that he has to smile for your sake.
"I wonder if something really big is gonna happen before we graduate."
"You never know."

Another painfully long day at the Host Club results in Kyoya resting as well as he can in the comfort of his own room, legs propped up along the length of his pristinely white sofa with a book perched in one hand, his temple resting in the other with the help of the back of the sofa.
The calming silence despite the occasional gust of wind outside lulls him into a relaxed state of mind, his eyes hooded tiredly as he can barely keep up with each word he reads over.
Just as he's going to pick up his bookmark, "Special delivery." A quiet knock comes from the entryway.
Kyoya hums, shocked to find you standing in his doorway with your knuckles against the wall, your other arm supporting a decently sized and neatly wrapped box.
"Are you still mad... about the host thing?" You bite your lip anxiously.
Kyoya quirks a brow, "Mad?" He maintains his iconic monotone, turning from you almost bitterly, intrigued into how you believe he's mad will play out in the moment.
Mad would be a grand overstatement, as he's not upset with you in the slightest. But if there's one thing Kyoya enjoys, it's teasing you.
"I know I'm not a host and I shouldn't have acted like one... or blatantly overlooked your displeasure with Kasanoda being my guest."
Kyoya does not reply, eyes trained on one page in his book, no longer skimming over the words. He patiently awaits your next move.
"So I brought you a gift of sorts... as an apology." You gently place the box at the end of his sofa, heart leaping into your chest when he peers over his open book at it.
Kyoya sighs, bookmarking his page and swinging his legs onto the floor, reaching for the box, when, "Careful... it's fragile." You warn cautiously, wincing in anticipation.
Even more confused, Kyoya notices several minuscule holes poked into the top of the box. The weight inside shifts across his lap without Kyoya even touching it. Something is moving.
"What the hell did you put in the box?" Is his first response.
"Just open it." You sigh irritatedly, propping an impatient hand on your hip and shifting your weight.
Kyoya pulls the ribbon, watching it unravel before lifting the lid from the box, peering cautiously inside.
He nearly recoils when something blinks back up at him, green orbs with narrow black slits gazing into his soul as a short, stubby black tail wraps itself around the length of a huddled, darkly colored body.
Kyoya recalls this creature with a bow tied carefully around its neck as the kitten you placed in his arms before all hell broke loose for two days. Without much of a thought, Kyoya reaches into the box and takes the quiet kitten by its scruff, supporting its bottom with his remaining hand and inspecting it as if he were a veterinarian himself, brows furrowed in utter confusion.
Meanwhile, you're going to gnaw your bottom lip off at this rate, "She needs a home and my father is allergic to anything with fur so... my next thought was to give her to you."
As you speak, Kyoya cradles the delicate feline in his arms and she takes to him immediately, her body rumbling with a comfortable purr as she nuzzles into the crook of his elbow.
"You strike me as a cat person. N-Not like a cat person with dozens upon dozens of cats but... you know, just one."
Kyoya hums appreciatively, "Does she have a name?" He notices the lack of a collar around her neck.
"No, I've just been calling her little one. Seeing as she's the runt, and all."
When the little one gazes up at him with her widely innocent eyes, Kyoya can only see his own reflection in her irises, heart thumping dully but noticeably.
"So now you have another girl in your life for me to be jealous of."
Kyoya lifts his head, meeting your gaze for the first time since you appeared in his doorway with a box containing a live animal. He snickers-- an unexpected response.
"Is this your way of evening the score?" His tone is filled with amusement, resulting in a scoff from you.
"Well... sort of." You grumble, crossing your arms defensively, watching him pet the little one over her back as she turns upside down in his arms, letting out a squeak.
"Well, she certainly is adorable." Kyoya lifts her at arms length, holding her just under her arms, seemingly in thought.
"She looks like a Noel to me." He tilts his head ever so slightly, earning a similar response from the newly named feline.
"Noel it is then." You voice beside him. Noel squirms, resulting in Kyoya setting her on her feet on the sofa beside him and watching her wander about before she curls up into a ball of nothing but jet black fluff and settling in for a nap.
"So... do you like her? Do you forgive me?" You meet his gaze cautiously.
At your pleading question, Kyoya's irritated facade comes crumbling down and he stands, dipping down just slightly to steal your lips in a firm kiss and settling his arms gently around your waist.
"Indeed." He nudges your nose with his own, relishing in your glazed-over eyes as you register your surroundings.
"You had me worried there." You secure your arms behind his neck and bury your face into the junction where his shoulder meets his neck, standing on the tips of your toes to reach it.
"What kind of couple would be we be if we didn't worry each other?"  Kyoya teases.
"A healthy, less stressed couple." You grumble, slightly muffled.
Kyoya rolls his eyes, bending at his knees as he scoops your off your feet, hauling you over his back and smirking at your squeal.
"Put me down!" You kick your feet, gripping onto the black of his blazer for dear life.
"Come on, we've got to look at pet supplies."
"You mean you have to look at pet supplies." You correct quickly, giving up in your endeavors to escape and dangling limply over his back as Kyoya carries you around the sofa and toward the stairs leading to his bed.
"Ah, I see what your intentions were now- you're dumping her off on me." He teases
"No! She was an…apology." Your voice grows weaker as more blood rushes to your head, your eyes growing significantly hooded, "I think I'm going to pass out." You warn.
Kyoya quickly maneuvers you from draping over his back like a rag doll to lying gracefully in his arms bridal style.
"Better?" He raises a playful brow.
Dizzily, you uncross your eyes, "Much."
🎵I run and run a thousand miles, and I am barely breathing. Only the fuel of a passionate heart keeps this body strong and moving forward.
Could it be I found a place to rest? How far until I’m OK?

Through all the pain, believe in who we are right here and now! 🎵

The time to start is now! And I can show you how.
Start with me, and the world will be even bigger than ever before. 🎵
♡Next time, on Indeed...♡
And so we learn just how y/n l/n ended up working for the infamous Host Club, with the addition of how you and Kyoya definitely could have worked things out differently. But, you know Kyoya. When are things ever going to be easy?

haruhi could only deadpan as she watched her fellow club members stalk gaze at you from behind one of the school’s structural pillars. as much as she liked tolerated her friends, she was not down for committing a crime with them.
“is this really something we should be doing?”
“no but it’s fun,” the twins chimed as they held haruhi by her arms, knowing she would escape if they didn’t.
honey simply nodded as he was practically jumping from excitement, waiting for kyoya to point out who his potential new friend was. the host club took it upon themselves, upon tamaki’s orders, to arrive at ouran early enough to see who you were. it wasn’t every day that they managed to let someone infiltrate their circle, whether it was because of their doing or someone else’s, and to say they weren’t all curious would be a lie. so here they were, staring at the entrance to 1-b waiting for you.
“y/l/n typically arrives at 8am,” kyoya chimed before looking at his phone’s clock, “it is only 7:58.”
“how did you…”
haruhi was going to ask but deemed it pointless. whenever there was a kyoya, there was a way.
“i can’t wait!”
“tama-chan! you’re being too loud.”
“mitsukuni. you are loud too.”
“kaoru is breathing too loud if we want to talk about noise.”
“what is wrong with-“
the sound of their phones going off interrupted the discourse that was about to start.
“it’s our new bestie!”
“boss please never say that again.”
they were about to message until kyoya’s voice rang out.
“there they are,” kyoya gathered everyone’s attention.
the seven hosts all looked towards the entrance. while they had varying reactions - ranging from ‘wow they look like a loner’ to ‘i hope they save themselves from these idiots’ - all of them noticed how pretty you were. the thought might have stemmed from just an observation but the seeds of romance have just been planted.

fun facts !
↳ haruhi is the only one who feels awkward about the stalking because usually the club is stalking her
↳ mori was struggling to conceal himself because of how much space he takes
↳ the twins held haruhi high enough where her feet couldn’t touch the ground so she was dangling this entire time
↳ tamaki almost blew their cover 13 times (kyoya counted) because he would ask really loudly “are you sure it isn’t them” and point

a/n: anyone who says any of the hosts are a love at first sight type of guy is a LIAR. they would be intrigued at best !! this is gonna be a slowburn fic with the after ending’s being the actual dating ^^

Weekend Movie Night :)
Your tongue curled against the roof of your mouth as you reeled in your patience, feeling a rush of air whip down your sternum and around your ribcage as you willed the rising annoyance back into the place it belonged.
Evening out your shoulders, you once again lift your hands at either side, grasping two plastic covers as you gestured sharply to the two movies in your grasp.
They did this every weekend.
Every weekend, you stood in front of the tv of your home theater, your house being the ideal place for movie night considering the constant absence of your parents, and every weekend the host club stared at you like two heads had just grown out of your waste, shouting at you to just give up and get a new set of friends already.
Or was that just in your head?
“Okay, this is your last chance,” You warned, fighting the urge to throw down the discs and locking yourself in your bedroom. “Or we are definitely going to watch whatever Honey-senpai brought with him. What was it again, Honey?”
Looking over to the boy-lolita, he looked so small perched on the lap of his taller cousin, a soft  yellow hoodie and basketball shorts a stark contrast to the black t-shirt and joggers the stoic wore. His blonde hair perked up, and the light in his eyes got impossibly brighter when you spoke to him, and for a minute, you weren’t totally terrified of his answer.
But Honey said it with a smile, one too bright for his choice of film.
A shudder passed through the host club, save for Kyoya, who wrote in his journal, uninhibited  by the world around him. Even the twins looked gray at the mention of the children’s film.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t watch that again.” A deep, feminine voice sounded as Haruhi complained, and your gaze glanced to the double recliner that she and Tamaki shared, a comfortable blanket draped over their legs. Haruhi had put space between them, but the prince was inching ever closer, and the way Haruhi was side-eyeing him, he was on the border of her punching range.
“We watched that last week, Honey-senpai…” Hikaru said, throwing a hand over his eyes as he reclined on one of the double recliners in the second row of the theater.
“...it wasn’t good then, and it wasn’t good the other four times.” Kaoru added, sounding equally exasperated as he shifted the pillow he was using onto Hikaru’s shoulder, trying to get into a more comfortable position.
“Well, then how about we all vote on a movie, and then we won’t have to watch it.” You said, shifting your weight onto the other foot as you extended your arm, holding one of the movie options out in front of you before doing the same thing with the right.
“Ponyo? Or A Quiet Place?”
It was like comparing apples and oranges. Or rather beautiful goddesses with deaf, bloodthirsty monsters.
“I’m telling you, A Quiet Place is one of the best movies I have ever seen.” Rising from his seat, Hikaru grabs the attention of the host club as they turn back to look at him, even as Kaoru falls flat on the recliner after leaning on his brother so heavily.
“It has everything.” The Hitachiian twin starts counting on his fingers aggressively. “Romance, horror, representation. At the very beginning, you will be on the edge of your seat.”
“It is too much!” A dramatic shout emits from the front row, and Tamaki raises his hands in the air before running them through his perfect hair, his casual lavender cardigan slipping down his forearm. “This is the one afternoon where we can be together in a calm, peaceful environment. I will not be rested by a woman giving birth in a bathtub.”
Exasperatingly, his fingers find his forehead as he reminds the group in disappointment. “Not to mention, the Japanese dub is terrible.”
“Plus Ponyo is cute! Her big eyes and the little fishies.” Another giggle escaped the martial arts master as he looked up at Mori, milk chocolate mixing in with deep cocoa. “Don’tchya think, Takashi?”
“Yeah.” A firm nod pulled the stoic’s neck. “I like the story.”
Another sigh rushed through your nose as you nodded. “Okay, now we are getting somewhere. Three votes for Ponyo, and one for A Quiet Place. Kaoru?”
“Hm?” The ginger-haired twin lifts his head from the pillow, squinting his eyes at your silhouette that was illuminated from the large movie screen behind you.
“Ponyo or A Quiet Place?”
Drowsiness filled his voice, which you were used to. Used to being the early riser of the twins, he was also used to a stricter bedtime of 10pm, one that your group constantly surpassed during these watch parties.
But he made a lazy gesture towards his much more awake brother before letting his hand drop on the couch below him. “Whatever Hikaru said.”
And then the sneaky twin turned in the chair, facing the back leather cushions, cutting himself out of the conversation.
“Okay then, Kaoru adds another vote for Quiet Place. Not like he’s going to watch it anyways.” You muttered the last part under your breath before turning sharply towards your favorite club member.
“Haruhi?”
“Like I said before, I vote for A Quiet Place. I like the cinematography and the acting. We can watch it with subtitles, so the dub thing is an easy fix,” She said flippantly, shoving her shoulder into Tamaki’s as he tried to wrap his arms around her with tears in his eyes, begging her to choose something else.
That left one more person.
Swiftly but cautiously, the entire club turned towards the center of the front row, where a raven-haired, glasses-wearing, very handsome pain in your side sat on one side of a double recliner, legs crossed and arms folded as if he wasn’t the cause of all this.
“Kyoya?” There’s a slight plea in your voice. “Which one do you want to see?”
You desperately hold the two movies out in front of him, shoving the choices into his line of sight.
But his gray eyes held your stare, an arch in his eyebrow framing them like gothic architecture.
“I’ve said it once before, and I have no intention of changing my mind.” Pale fingers reach to adjust the frame of his glasses as he pauses.
“I, in all honesty, could not care less.”
Groans sound from the entire movie theater, and you are almost brought to your knees as you throw your head back into a whine. “Kyoya!”
“And I still don’t understand why I am to be the tie breaker? Why can’t you decide on our movie?” His calculating gaze lands on you, and you fight the urge to roll your eyes.
You lose.
“Because, Kyoya, I am the host! The host doesn’t choose the movie, that’s just rude.”
“Technically, we are all hosts, so your logic is flawed.”
“Oh my god.” You wanted to smack your head with one of these discs.
Instead, you rested your head onto the plastic covers, shielding your frustrated face from your friends.
How do you get him to choose a goddamn movie?
“Why are you even here if you won’t choose a movie, Senpai?” Hikaru asks, uncrossing his legs so that Kaoru can lay down in his lap. “Might as well just go home at this point.”
Kyoya’s simple button down barely shifts as he gives Hikaru a side glance. “I was invited.” A smile rests on his face, and you think he might almost like delaying the movie like he was. “It would be a shame to turn it down.”
“You are one of the most decisive people I know.” You say from behind the movies. “Why are you doing this to us?”
“I make decisions for things I care about. For example, I decided to come to this homemade screening because it was good for the club’s morale.” Another knowing smirk twists into his lips. “But this…this is not something that affects me.”
Squinting your eyes, Kyoya watched as the cute, teasing desperation that had wrinkled your face hardened into a sinister amusement. He arched a brow as you creeped closer to his seat.
“Doesn’t affect you? Did you not hear what I said earlier?” You ask, an evil glint in your eye.
The ravenet faced you dead on though, almost sounding bored as he challenged you. “When you failed to admit that you were a hypocrite, as you are making everyone choose a movie except yourself?”
Your eyebrow twitched. “No, before that.”
Kyoya hummed, a finger coming to rest on his chin. “No, I think I might’ve had other things on my mind more important than this.”
“Ah, so you don’t know the stakes.” Tamaki said, a taunt in his buttery voice. You were closer now, as was the rest of the host club, leaning in like spiders on a web, and Kyoya was the fly caught in the string.
“What stakes?” The megane asks, the space in between his brows slightly folding together.
Now it was your turn to be arrogant, the drawl of your voice inflicting something higher than thou. “If you don’t pick one, Kyo, we’re just gonna watch what Honey-senpai wants to watch.”
Even if it was just the slightest bit, as you inched closer to the director, you saw his eyelids widen at your threat.
“That’s not possible, we just watched it last week.” Was that a waver in his voice?
“Oh yes, Kyo,” You said, reaching your destination. Resting one hand on the arm of the chair closest to his body while the other settled on the back of the cushion, you caged Kyoya between you and the chair, blocking any means of escape. “We’re gonna watch My Little Pony.”
If he had a reaction to your closeness, which – considering the small blush that Mori and Haruhi noticed on his cheeks – he did, it was small and unimportant to the impending threat hanging over his head. Flashbacks flew through his mind of the nauseating music, the jokes meant for five year olds, and the infuriating notion that Twilight was an intellectual scholar.
He would be a genius too if he had a magic horn coming out of his forehead bending to his will.
At first, he didn’t believe you. Gray eyes searched (e/c) ones with an investigative glance, but he found nothing but determination and smugness swirling in the captivating orbs.
Internally, he had already admitted defeat. Not only does he want to avoid that goddamned movie as much as possible, but he had come here to spend time with his friends; spend time with you. And all this back and forth had been fun for a while, but it was far past the time for you to stop worrying, sit down, and relax beside him.
Plus, he would never admit how you had just blocked him into a corner.
Rolling his eyes to break away from your intense stare, Kyoya deepend his posture into the leather recliner, breathing a sigh of refined resignation before giving you his vote.
“A Quiet Place.” His deep voice rumbled through the suspense in the movie theater, and he reveled in the change of your expression.
Your eyes brightened from their darker state into something excited, but whether it was from the fact that you had won or the fact that he had picked the movie that you secretly wanted, he couldn’t tell.
That gorgeous smile of yours burst from the seams of your lips before you released him from his perfumed prison, standing up and triumphantly holding the winning movie in the air.
“A Quiet Place it is!”
A cheer from Hikaru resounded over a tired sigh from Kaoru behind the megane, even if it was covered by the whine and cries of the most immature host: his best friend beside him.
“Mon ami! You can’t make me watch something so violent!” Tamaki laments, and you almost lose yourself in the purple puppy dog eyes that glistened in the dimming lights.
“Tamaki, if you watch this, I’ll let you borrow one of my super comfortable hoodies, okay?”
Immediately, the prince was in awe, and his smile was almost as bright as his hair.
“Really?”
A sweet giggle tumbled out of your throat. “Really.”
Then that was it. After popping in the disc, you took your seat next to your director, just as he sat beside his manager. The movie screen glowed with the opening credits as the lights went out completely, the colors of the screen flashing across your face.
You reached over the arm of the chair before pulling out a fluffy blanket. Throwing most of it around your legs, you glanced at Kyoya’s crossed ones, which were currently uncovered.
“Do you want to share the blanket?” You whispered, and Kyoya’s gaze shot from the screen to you, then down to the blanket, then to you again.
After realizing how that might have sounded, you quickly tried to help him understand where you're coming from, stumbling over your quiet words as the first scene played. “Or I can get you another one! There are a couple folded over there, I just know it can get chilly in here, so-”
The blanket was gingerly tugged from your grasp as Kyoya flicked it out, causing the fabric to spread and drape over the both of you. In order to be fully under the warmth of the throw, you had to scoot in closer to the center, causing the sides of your bodies to touch ever so slightly.
You shifted away immediately, conscious you might be making him uncomfortable. “Is this okay? Too much?”
There it was again, that shift in his face as his eyes widened that you wouldn’t be able to see without only being inches from his form. But instead of the cautious motions that had come afterward, his face softened into an ever-so-faint grin, and he rested more into the couch, intentionally pushing your shoulders together.
“This is fine.” He whispered back, and it was good that he was okay with it, considering you curled into him with each moment of suspense and every jump scare.

It’s Always Been You pt10
(Kyoya x Male Reader)
Chapter ten
-A Day In The Life Of The Fujioka Family-
A soft buzz emits from Y/n’s phone. And then another, then five more after.
He blindly searched his bed, after a few attempts he finally found it.
He rubs his eye with a yawn, while looking at his screen. He saw the caller id, and with a groan he answered the call.
“What did you two do?” He muttered, dragging himself out of bed.
Inhuman yells came from the other end, Y/n scrunched his face and pulled the phone away from his now ringing ear.
“We are going to visit Haruhi!” The twins cheered.
“Uh huh, when.” Y/n tiredly spoke looking for any clean clothes.
“Yeah.. okay see you then.” Y/n hanged up, tossing his phone onto his bed.
He rubbed his face, trying to gain the last bit of motivation to get through the day.
He digs through his closet, trying to find an outfit that made him not want to cry, which today was proving difficult.
He finally settled on a black hoodie with a beat up army jacket, with a few patches, he grabbed his phone.
He leaves his room heading to the bathroom, he does his usual routine, half alive but still.
He heads down the stairs, he makes a poorly made coffee, and sits down at the kitchen counter. He watched as the steam twirled and danced into the air. He sighed before downing the drink.
His phone rings, telling that the club was here.
He gets up, puts on his shoes and heads out the door.
The club arrived at an apartment complex, as they left from sleek black limousine, a crowd formed around them.
And in perfect timing Haruhi just came back from the store.
When she saw the scene, she groaned in annoyance before leaning against a pole rear by for support.
“So this is where Haruhi lives!” Kaoru looked around taking in the charming area.
“It’s pretty big huh? Bigger than I thought it would be.” Hikaru states.
“Yes, look at all the rooms!” Honey cheered, throwing his hands in the air.
“This building is what you might call an aggregate commoner dwelling. Haruhi’s home is one of the many units in this building.” Kyoya explained looking down at his book.
 Tamaki grabs onto Kyoya's shoulders.
“Kyoya?! Why did you bring these idiots with us! Especially those two doppelgängers!” Tamaki whined.
“Well you see, I knew you didn’t have the courage to come here alone. So It'd be better if everyone came along.” Kyoya spoke with a smile.
He turns around pushing the twins back into the car.
“Alright let’s go home then, I clearly underestimated our great leader.”
  The twins shout their protests.
“What! I’m sorry, please don’t leave me alone!” Tamaki pleads.
“Speaking of which, does Haruhi even know we’re here?” Y/n turned to Kyoya.
“No. Tamaki thought it was a good idea for a surprise visit.”
“Oh she’s going to love this.” Y/n joked.
“Now listen up men!” Tamaki yelled, having everyone stop to look at him.
“Don’t forget we must be polite, this is a casual ‘we just so happen to be in the area’ kind of visit. We’re not to judge the Fujioka family’s lifestyle. The words ‘shabby’ ‘cramped’ and ‘rundown’ are absolutely forbidden!”
“Right! Yes sir!” The twins salute, along with Mori and Honey.
“Don’t say anything that might offend Haruhi or her father and cause them to ask us to leave.” Tamaki continues.
“Well it's too late for that!” Haruhi cuts in fuming with anger.
“Haruhi!” Tamaki turned to face Haruhi.
The twins complimented her outfit .
“Shut up! Get the hell out of here!” She gritted her teeth.
“Haruhi was so mad she actually cursed at us!” Tamaki shirked.
“It’s your fault!” Tamaki accused the twins.
“Hey don’t blame us!” The twins raise their hands.
A landlady came out, to see what the commotion was, only to be charmed by Tamaki, irking Haruhi more.
After that, Haruhi brings them to her apartment door.
“I’m only giving you a quick peek. Three seconds, then you all go home. Got it?”
Honey holds up a box of cake.
“Look, I brought you a gift Haru-chan! I know how you love cake.” He smiled.
She unlocked the door with a sigh.
“Fine, I guess we’ll have some tea.”
Tamaki let’s a sigh of relief, thankful Haruhi was living in a better house than he thought.
“What a hovel.” Hikaru bluntly spoke.
  Y/n hits his arm.
“Don’t be a dick, Hikaru.” He narrowed his eyes.
Haruhi took off her shoes, and Y/n did too, out of habit.
“Hold on, are we supposed to take off our shoes?” Honey asked Haruhi.
  “Please if you don’t mind.”
“Do you have any slippers for us Haruhi?” Hikaru took off his shoes.
“Wait, the rooms are covered with tatami mats.” Kaoru noticed.
“In that case we don’t need any.” The twins spoke together.
The clubs walks in the room,
“Woah, talk about small!” Hikaru hits his head.
“Be careful! That lightbulb is just hanging from the ceiling!” Kaoru warned.
“This place is quite unpleasant but I may have underestimated commoner housing, I know it’s a tight fit here.” Tamaki sits on the floor with his knees to his chest.
“But just pull your knees in and sit gym style! Commoners have specially developed this position to conserve space.”
“I’m gonna make us some tea.” Haruhi spoke already regretting this.
“Sorry they get excited in new places, give them time to adjust.” Y/n spoked, referring to the club as if they’re dogs.
“Hey here’s an idea why don’t you make this?” Hikaru holds up a yellow bag with red markings.
“It’s black tea that our parents brought us from Africa, so have a try.” Hikaru throws the bag to Haruhi.
  “Um, sure no problem.”
“It’s best served as milk tea, do you have any milk?”
“I think… When's the last time I bought milk?” Haruhi mumbled out loud.
Tamaki freaks out and pulls the twins into a huddle.
“Stop it! What the hell are you doing! Don’t be mean to her, idiots!” He loudly whispered.
 “What do you mean?”
“I know you’re trying to embarrass her by asking for her to make that African tea! Look!”
“She has no idea what to do!”
“She doesn’t even have a teapot!” Hikaru sobs dramatically.
“I’m sorry Haruhi, you don’t have to go through the trouble to make us tea, water is just fine.” Hikaru puts out a shaky hand.
“What? It’s no trouble. Besides, I’ve already made it.” She holds up a tray of drinks.
“Oh well in that case..” The twins get pulled back by Tamaki.
“We have been rescued by commoners' knowledge.” He whispered.
“We have to be very careful how we act. One little off-handed remark could break Haruhi’s heart! That means in this fight, the first person to embarrass Haruhi loses.”
“You guys are terrible at whispering” Y/n muttered, staring at the trio.
“While your antics are amusing, I don’t understand why you need to turn this into a contest.” Kyoya spoke, looking at Haruhi’s bookshelf.
Haruhi sets down the tea on the table, each cup from a different set.
“Teas ready. Sorry the cups are not matching.”
“Cmon Haru-chan, you can choose yours first!” Honey gleeful, held up a box of cakes.
“Uh, are you sure Honey-senpai?” Haruhi spoke looking at the box.
“Go ahead, we're rich, we eat this kind of stuff all the time.” Hikaru waves his hand.
Kaoru pulls Hikaru to scold him.
“I’ll try the strawberry!” Haruhi smiled.
  Honey hands over the piece.
“You, me and Takashi are going to have strawberries!”
Mori hands over his strawberry toppings to Haruhi.
“You like strawberries? Here you can have mine.”
The twins, and Tamaki cry over this action.
“Isn’t it lunch time now?” Hikaru questioned, as everyone else finished their cake.
“Will you guys quit being so happy and go lucky all the time?” Haruhi complained.
“We’ll take care of it.” Kyoya stands up.
“We dropped in unexpectedly, so we’ll pay for lunch. Why don’t you order us some of your favorite sushi.”
“Thanks but no thanks, I know that if I let you guys pay, I’ll regret it later on.” Haruhi shrugged.
“Don’t worry Haruhi, we’ll just use the money we made off your photos I’ve auctioned off.” Y/n grinned, as Kyoya handed her a golden credit card.
“So I’m really paying for it after all.” She sighed.
“Well if that’s what you want, I do have a friend who runs a nice little sushi shop nearby, I can just give him a call. Their stuff is pretty high quality.”
Tamaki slightly gasps before writing something down, and giving it to her.
Haruhi reads out the note, before ripping it up.
“I’m not stupid I could figure that on my own.” She spoked irritatedly.
“I’d really love it if you made us something Haru-chan.” Honey sweetly spoke.
“I guess I could whip something up, but it’s gonna take me some time.”
“I’m gonna have to go back to the supermarket..”
The club chimes in that they’re coming too, the twins and honey run out chanting. Mori, Kyoya and Y/n follow after, leaving Tamaki and Haruhi alone.
A person walked up to Haruhi’s door, and when they walked in they screamed.
“Wait.. isn’t that Haruhi's dad?” Y/n looked to kyoya.
“I believe it is.” He looked at his book.
“Tamaki is going to make a complete ass of himself isn’t he.” Y/n cringed already knowing the answer.
The club comes back to the room.
“Hey boss, what in the world is taking you so long?” They look through the wide opened door.
“Woah check it out, that person we passed downstairs was Haruhi’s father.” Kaoru adds in.
“Hikaru, Kaoru, help me out here!” Tamaki spoke still on the ground.
The twins ignored his plea, and walked on top of him, to greet Haruhi’s father.
“It’s nice to meet you, Haruhi's dad. We’re good friends of your daughter, the Hitachiin twins.” They politely smile.
  “So you’re a tr@nsvestite aren’t you?” Hikaru spoke.
Y/n hits him, bound to leave a bruise.
“You can’t say that! Sorry.” Y/n turned to face Haruhi’s dad.
“Tamaki, you've finally made your move, it took you long enough.” Y/n grinned.
“He’s a ladies man if you know what I mean.” Y/n told, purposely adding fuel to the fire.
“He’s fooled around with more women than you could count.”
“He likes to fool around huh?” Haruhi’s dad gritted their teeth.
“No! I’m not a ladies man! I’m a nice guy! I care about her!” Tamaki quickly gets up.
  He bows down.
“I’m being completely honest here, I care about Haruhi like she’s my own daughter.”
“I get it, you must be the host club I’ve heard so much about. You certainly are a fine looking bunch of young men.”
Tamaki is sulking in a corner, while everyone else is at the table.
“I’m not sure which of you I like best! What about you dear?” They turned to Haruhi.
“I tell you what, why don’t you boys go ahead and call me Ranka. That’s the professional name I use at the trans bar I work at!” Ranka happily spoke.
“Oh that’s why you’re so familiar!” Y/n happily cheered.
“I mean uh… never mind.” Y/n nervously mumbled.
 Ranka gives a knowing look.
“Professional name? You mean like a stage name?” Honey curiously asked.
“Exactly like that Mitsukuni!” Ranka affirms.
“Hold on, how do you know my name sir?”
 Ranka smiled.
“You two are third years, Mitsukuni Haninozuka, and Takashi Morinozuka!
You’re Y/n L/n a second year, and you two are first years in the same class as Haruhi,
the Hitachiin twins. I can't tell which is which though.”
“Wait so Haruhi told you about us?” Kaoru furrowed his brow.
“No, Kyoya told me about you two over the phone!”
“You really are a beautiful person Ranka.” Kyoya smiled.
 “Say what!” The hosts screamed.
“Did you know about this!” The twins whipped their heads to Y/n.
“Yeah, It can’t be that big of a surprise that Kyoya does this.” Y/n blankly spoke.
“I’m impressed the club has such a capable president!” Ranka spoke, hurting Tamaki’s ego.
“But wait a minute you’re only the vice president aren’t you Kyoya? I guess that president of yours is pretty much good for nothing.”
“You never mentioned this to me dad! Why didn’t you say you’ve been getting calls from Kyoya-senpai!?” Haruhi raised her voice.
“What am I supposed to do Haruhi? You rarely tell me anything about school!” Ranka argued back.
“So that makes it okay to talk behind my back! C’mon Senpai would you please stop growing mushrooms in other peoples closet.”
“Haruhi, the thing about you is-“ They grabbed Haruhi into an embrace.
“You’re cute even when you’re angry!”
“I don’t know what it is about him, but Haruhi’s dad reminds me of someone.” Hikaru looks towards Tamaki.
  “I guess that’s why she’s used to Tamaki’s antics.” Y/n grinned.
Haruhi with a huff walked away from the group. Heading towards the door.
“Wait Haruhi, where are you going?” Ranka worriedly asked.
“The supermarket, alright? I have to go shopping and I wanna do it by myself. So all of just stay here and try to behave yourselves.” She harshly muttered, walking out.
“Wait! We want to go to the commoners supermarket!” Hikaru pleaded.
“I wouldn’t push it. Once she’s made her mind up, she’ll never change it.” Everyone turns back to look at Ranka.
“When she decided she wanted to go to Ouran Academy, she did all the enrolment paperwork herself.”
“While I respect her independent  spirit, I wished she’d be a little more independent on me sometimes.” They sadly spoke.
“I hope you know how grateful I am. Since she’s found you, she seems happier and enjoying herself, wouldn’t you agree Tamaki Suoh?”
 Tamaki whipped his head.
“You know who I am?” He gave puppy eyed look.
“Well of course I do, Haruhi’s told me a thing or two about you. You’re the host club’s bumbling president, right?”
He began sobbing tears of joy.
“Come to think of it.” Ranka takes a sip of tea.
“You’re the one who didn’t realize Haruhi was a girl until the last moment. You’re clueless aren’t you? Pretty pathetic.”
Tamaki goes back into the closet back to being sad. He’s quite familiar being in one now.
“Now that we’ve gotten all the introductions out of the way, how would you boys like to have a little fun?” Ranka spoke with a devilish grin.
The game ended up being following Haruhi to the supermarket
“So we’re going to follow her to supermarket?” The twins asked.
“This is what you meant by fun?” Kyoya added in.
“Yes call it the stalking game.”  Ranka whispered.
A small group started to form admiring the clubs looks.
“In all honesty-“ Ranka took off her sunglasses.
“I have a completely selfish reason for bringing you with me. I want to be seen around a bunch of cute boys!”
“Sure enough, those two are cut from the same cloth.” The twins states.
They arrived at the store. Tamaki and Ranka followed Haruhi, Mori and Honey messed around with the carts, the twins went over to where the instant coffee was.
“I’m glad we actually ended going, I needed to grab some thing.” Y/n sighed.
“Hold on- are you writing down coupons?” Y/n looked at Kyoya writing in his book.
“It’s valuable information.” Kyoya counting to write.
Y/n lets out a small laugh then began picking out bandaids, and other materials.
As Y/n went down the aisle with Kyoya behind, jotting down information in his book.
Y/n looked over to see Ranka watching Haruhi pick out groceries.
“So that’s what a good parent is like.” Y/n turned back grabbing, an absurd amount of energy drinks.
“I wouldn’t call ‘stalking’ good parenting.” Kyoya looked up from writing.
“Yeah it’s kinda weird but at least they care you know, better than a call every once awhile for a favour.” Y/n muttered, reading the label on a can.
“What do you mean by that?” Kyoya asked.
“Just saying-“ he puts a can in the cart.
“I’ve seen worse parents.” Y/n vaguely speaks, going into the next aisle.
Kyoya just looked at Y/n, with a sense of familiarity over his words.

Tumblr media
@pumpkinmetaphor HII ur asks are off and tumblr DMs are a nightmare to navigate so I will respond here to spare poor poor op
soo I have quite a bit written out actually, but idk if it'll ever come to be ...? I think I actually made a post abt it a bit back. It's just one of those many many things I write in my downtime for fun that will prob never get finished. Anyways the concept revolves around werewolves because I love stories of protags having some deep secret they cannot reveal for fear of rejection or worse. In the story, Kaoru has been infected with lycanthropy after being attacked badly by a werewolf. He lies about this encounter to everyone, doctors and his brother included, as he genuinely believes he must have saw wrong. He was attacked at night when he couldn't see well, the animal seeming to be a wolf...but there aren't any wild wolves in Japan. So Kaoru believes it must have been something else. (side note idk how the disease spreads as of yet. Think either saliva in the bloodstream like rabies or it's a thing of if you get killed by a werewolf you come back as one not knowing you technically died...)
Soso Kaoru beings acting strange after this event. After weeks recovering physically, coming back home, his personality shifts unknowingly to himself. He becomes a lot more restless at night, much more snappy and rude, generally kinda acting like his brother more lol. He just seems to be losing his temper easier and being more aggressive and physical, even with Hikaru, who he also becomes more snappy with. Obviously he doesn't understand why he's acting like this, neither does anybody in the club.
Then the big thing happens...full moon baybeeee. Up to this point Kaoru would feel more awake/elevated heartbeat when looking at the moon, but when the full moon comes around, he feels fucking crazy. Like manic and uncontrollable and he starts to freak out a bit. However he sticks it out because the club is hosting a prom event like episode 2, so it's like, whatever, go home and sleep later.
Until he makes the mistake of forgetting to keep himself busy, which leads to him compulsively staring at the moon, and then he finds he can't look away, and well.
And the transformation thing sort of has him black out. In my head, I imagine the werewolves look like regular wolves, just a tad bigger with bigger paws that may be more human-like. Definitely makes him lose all cognitive ability, and by the time he snaps back to normal, he doesn't know where he is, his clothes are tattered, he's in so much pain, and there's blood, and he's like whaaat the fuck happened here...
He's able to hide these facts, not wanting anyone to know how he found himself when he woke up bc that shit cannot be good. quickly through talk he finds that morning that haruhi got hurt last night, so of course hikaru (who is doubly worried about his brother who disappeared for a chunk of the night) urges that the two of them along with the rest of the host club check up on haruhi (who is at home trying to tell them "im fine guys gooddd")
but like, ofc its the club so they knock the door down lmfao. and tho haruhi plays it cool, she is obviously a little shaken about whatever happened. she has some bandages but nothing awful.
turns out, as she explains, an animal attacked her last night (cue tamaki wailing) and she scared it off by blindly slashing a pocket knife at it ("WHY ARE YOU CARRYING SUCH A DANGEROUS WEAPON AROUND!?!? IF YOU NEED BODY GAURDS KYOYA CAN DO SOMETHING IM SURE-" "i use it to open packages senpai.")
kyoya of course takes the idea of a wild, vicious animal on school grounds very seriously, and so inquires on the appearance of the animal. haruhi pauses but admits it looked like a wolf. of course kyoya tells her that can't be right, it must have been a stray dog, but haruhi insists it did NOT look like a dog.
anyways, the club are in uproar about this, arguing back and forth about this wolf-not-wolf that nearly killed haruhi, and kaoru is silently watching from the back as a terrifying realization dawns on him. he remembered waking up with there being blood. namely, blood on his hands and under his nails, and a nasty cut he got on his cheek which he assumed he acquired by tripping and hitting something sharp. But if he pairs that with what haruhi says, it seems INSANE, but also...it would make sense. everything to this point would make sense.
and it terrifies him. it terrifies him more that hikaru swears up and down that he's going to "kill that filthy mutt" that hurt haruhi, and it terrifies him that kyoya says he's going to bring this up with school staff about increasing security. he wonders if he told them that it wasnt just a wolf, it was HIM, that if they would be merciful, or if they would still hate him. if hikaru would want him dead still. and the fact is, he HURT someone. his friend. this is his fault and he cant even blame his friends if they wanted to go as far as kill him if they found out, now that he is literally a monster that can kill people.
this, finally, is where the carriage thing comes in (took long enough!) the story functions as an elaborate ass metaphor, where kaoru's lycanthropy is a physical metaphor for his anxieties about the person who he's supposed to be, the harm he thinks he's causing other people, the harm he's causing his brother. he's running around, trying to find a cure while keeping everyone in the dark, praying no one finds out before he can fix this and fix himself. and if he cant, his only option is likely a grim one, but he CANT let anyone know, it's too risky, he has to do this by himself. his self-destroying obsession with keeping everyone safe and doing the right thing for his friends causes him to push them away from fear of hurting them or getting hurt himself. there's that part of him that's convinced he won't be able to solve this.
it basically drives him to his lowest point mentally and physically. he avoids all his friends so he can't hurt them with his uncontrollable temper or possible transformation, he's doing tons of shady shit in an effort to cure himself. he goes to nekozawa bc if anybody knows how to solve this fuckery its nekozawa and nekozawa treats him like a little lab experiment lmao bc of course he is enraptured by kaoru's newfound form and the physical changes it has made to his body (sharper canines, faster-growing hair, possibly an inch taller, newfound silver allergy). but of course as news of the wolf attack on campus spreads so do rumors, some "crazy" rumors about werewolves being real, of course rumors that are mocked by most of the kids as being nonsense scary stories, but this does NOT help kaoru's paranoia...
as for how this story ends WELL it's unfinished so you can guess (i have no ending.) i do want some part of hikaru obviously finding out at the worst possible moment, probably a very unfortunate circumstance where kaoru is unable to escape transformation on a full moon and hikaru is there. and he probably begs and pleads for hikaru to leave him alone but of course his brother won't do that, and obviously he is fucking stunned to see his brother turn into ?? a wolf. like erm *marvel voice that just happened..... and since kaoru has no control in this form, he tries to attack and even kill hikaru. hikaru would obviously not fight back, bc he doesn't want to hurt kaoru. that and he is stunned silent.
there are other elements of the story i want. for example, if i ever finish this thing, i do have ideas of ayanokoji being involved somehow. probably a witness to kaoru's odd behavior/actual transformation and thusly being able to use this against him cuz Fuck Da Host Club. or even try to kill him herself bc he's a fucking wolf dude idk. i also had this scene in my head with arai being involved bc the night kaoru attacks his brother he wakes up far as fuck away from tokyo with no memory except knowing A) hikaru was there and B) there is blood all over him he can only think of the worst possibilities so he kinda wanders in an unfamiliar back road in a fugue state until some lady almost accidentally hits him with a car and is like. who is this child covered in wounds and blood......and very sane thing to do she is like. hey do u need like. a lift. you look like ur gonna die. you have like 3 stab wounds. and kaoru is like. floor it chief. anyways turns out it's arai's mother ! woah. which is funny because after helping Kaoru and hanging out with him she admits she's like, "oh i helped you cuz you remind me of my son. you seem about his age" and kaoru is like oh ha ha that's nice of you....and then fuckin arai shows up a few hours later and kaoru is like "ohhhhhhhhhhh............................uhoh."
to which since kaoru doesnt have his phone on him arai offers to phone haruhi for him since he has her number and of course 5 minutes later the host club is at their location in a fucking helicopter or some shit bc ZOMG KAORUUU WE WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT YOUUUUU WHERE DID U GOOOO (hikaru withholding information)
it's an incredibly "fan fiction-y" story i admit. but that's the fun of it. it could get soooo dramatic too. cuz like yeah duhh hikaru wouldn't want to kill kaoru ofc not but OTHER people ? there's a guy who is a werewolf. umm. can't see that going over well. and the general attitude kaoru would hold and the way he attempts to figure everything out on his own. the day he and hikaru reunite after hikaru finds out the truth could go so many ways, from silence to yelling to crying to awkward laughing to kaoru just blankly asking what hikaru plans to do with him now, like he's a prisoner accepting his execution. sorry i am a fan of introducing trauma between the toxic codependent twins. and like the other members of the club? i can see people like tamaki being quick to try and help kaoru (despite what he did to haruhi) and haruhi being like "this may as well happen welcome to Ouran Fucking Highschool" but people like Mori or Kyoya may be more hesitant, pointing out kaoru, while not malicious, genuinely CANNOT control himself in his canine state and has shown multiple times that can and WILL kill people, including his friends, and that can't be ignored or brushed off. maybe they put a muzzle on him idfk. either way, it's also a great metaphor for stigma bc once his friends start finding out, they are obviously treating him differently. Even (or especially) hikaru. he's being treated like a different person now. it makes him feel more inhuman than ever. they only see this awful monster he can become now, he feels, and honestly, maybe they're right. it's not all of who he is, but it's a part of him, a part of him that has hurt two people he loves most, and so he can't help but judge himself based off that too.
well ermmmm yes! that is my funny funny story that i have like 6k written down in a word document of that i may or may not finish who fuckin knowwws

Hi! Since your headcanons are open, do you think you could please do the rest of the host club? Love your writing btw!
A/N: yippee!! the host club is reunited!! lol thank you for the request, i hope you enjoy these!! the headcanons for haruhi, mori, and honey are right here!!
Tamaki -
he is stupidly ticklish actually like save him
he's ticklish pretty much everywhere but under his arms and his tummy are probably his best spots they have him absolutely REELING
he has a normal like. "princely" laugh whenever he's hosting or trying to be his typical Tamaki self but he is such a frantic giggler when he's tickled its so funny
also totally stealing from one of my favorite artists on tumblr dot com but RIGHT HERE is evidence that Tamaki snorts. he is so silly i hope he gets obliterated
also relating to that art he is constantly tickled by the twins in inconvenient situations lol
Haruhi will tickle him sometimes to try and make him stop doing something and most of the time it works lol
he also sometimes gets tickled by Kyoya or Honey but it's moooostly the twins bc those guys are absolute tickle monsters
he's got like. no ler bones in his body but only because he's so scared of getting tickled back that he just avoids it LOL
hes kind of funny because when he does tickle someone else like Kyoya he runs away almost immediately afterward
Kyoya -
URGH Kyoya is so hard for me to make headcanons for HELP HES SO GOOFY
okay he's definitely tickly. probably on his ribs, hips, and his back
HIS BACK IS A FUNNY SPOT bc people can just swipe one finger down his back and he'll do like a full body shudder and then give them an evil glare
he's probably tickled the least out of everyone in the host club and he is NOT USED TO IT whenever he is tickled because he's so out of practice being tickled lol
he's not super ticklish either but when you catch him by surprise he's more reactive to tickling
he doesn't normally engage in tickling because he's just sooooo serious LOL but when there's a good moment he'll definitely poke people or give them a small tickle
i feel like hes more of a ler but in general he just ignores whatevers going on unless he has to step in and break people up because the tickling is getting too intense
he has gotten tickled during one of those break ups before (it was Tamaki and the twins OF COURSE) and then both the twins tried to gang up on him. lol
they regretted it later! Kyoya may not tickle people often but when he does he should be feared
Hikaru -
okay i think it's so funny bc you'd think Kaoru is the more ticklish twin but UR WRONG it's Hikaru
he's like. stupid ticklish. ALMOST AS MUCH AS TAMAKI but he's better at hiding it because he's not as dramatic when he gets tickled
like he'll jump but he tries to hide his reactions so sometimes it takes a bit to make him even giggle
he's really ticklish on his hips and sides which are super easy to get too hehe just grab him by the hips and SQUEEZE
he's much more of a ler especially when he's tickling someone with his brother but if anyone was able to get him bad he would never get to live it down
the only person who's come close to tickling him really good aside from his brother is Haruhi and that's just because she's sick of their nonsense LOL
she also makes a point to tell the twins apart by where they're ticklish so she uses tickling to her advantage all the time
like she can easily tell them apart without tickling them but she thinks its funny because they are both so tickly
Kaoru -
he's such a goofball sorry i actually really loved Kaoru so much when i watched this show LOL
he's not as ticklish as Hikaru and he's tickly in other spots but he doesn't try to hide his reactions as much as Hikaru so people often assume that Kaoru is the more ticklish twin
He's very giggly and tickling him under his arms or his ribs especially get him really good
he's actually kind of silly because he will almost always be the one to initiate tickle fights with the other hosts or his brother, and then Hikaru normally joins in
I think Kaoru doesn't mind tickling others or being tickled, he's like... very in the middle on his preference LOL it just depends on his mood at the time
he and Hikaru will normally switch off on like. who's holding and who's tickling when they're ganging up on someone but Kaoru actually prefers to do the tickling most of the time
his argument is that Hikaru is too ticklish to be good at tickling but he never tells anyone else that because he knows Hikaru is a lil embarrassed about how ticklish he is lol
that's all i got for now!! thanks for the request~!

i know you love tamaki but thoughts on each of the other hosts? my favourite is mori <3
full disclosure tamaki was my first real conscious fictional crush at the ripe age of 11 and TO THIS DAY i have to pause the show during the piano scenes to recover my dignity so he will always be my number one. my everything. my absolute love interest of all time. i could write essays on him for real. i HAVE written essays on him. that being said i can absolutely talk about the other hosts bc im literally obsessed w this show
haruhi was the gender blueprint. truly. girlboy swag. she and misa amane death note were definitely like. the two most influential characters on my personal style in middle and high school. this doesn't say anything good about me. she is also multifaceted and well characterized in a way that's SO refreshing for a romance protagonist. character of all time. also btw im the exact demographic this show was written for meaning i was a tamaki/haruhi truther from the very beginning. where is the tall blonde prince boy to my short stupid gnc bitch. when is it my turn to be happy
hikaru and kaoru. yes i know the twincest thing is weird but i am CHOOSING TO IGNORE IT because 1. the show is making fun of shoujo tropes. its SATIRE GUYS and 2. they are literally so well characterized that it MAKES SENSE THAT THEY DO IT. ugh. anyways kaoru was always my favorite of the two bc i love a man thats in tune with his own emotions. i like hikaru in theory but i think if i knew him in real life i would murder him. i am also obsessed with their characterization and backstory in general bc their specific brand of trauma is one that i so rarely see represented in media and i think they had a very realistic response to it?? like they're genuinely very well written characters i like them a lot. i could also probably write an essay about them
kyoya. im obsessed with him. hes a genius. hes an asshole. he runs a literal profitable business pimping out his besties. girls somehow like him despite him never actually showing affection to any of them in canon. hes literally the worst person alive. hes genuinely kindhearted despite everyone in his life attempting to beat it out of him. hes GAY. this is a joke mostly but i truly think that every decision in his life post-middle school is made because he is obviously, painfully in love with tamaki and also completely oblivious to this fact. like the show might attempt to make you think that hes got a thing for haruhi but literally every decision he makes is for tamaki's benefit (the manga is even MORE explicit about this btw and it makes me insane) and the entire time hes in denial about the fact that tamaki is literally everything to him. it's hilarious. "and so kyoya met him" uhhh fellas is it gay to consider the single most important event in your life to be meeting another man
i kinned honey in middle school for real and every time i think about it i want to die. i unfortunately still like cake. and rabbits. and i am still blonde and short. i might be haunted by this character for the rest of my life
i didn't get the appeal of mori at first tbh which might be a result of watching the anime 2 million times but never reading the manga LMAO bc he really is just a filler character in the show. but hes fun and i like him well enough. im sort of hoping he gets a little more room to be a real character in the manga tho bc ive like. just gotten out of the chapters that were adapted directly into the show so we're in uncharted territory now. im waiting for his chapter im SURE its coming

Anime-Manga Comparisons, episode 16.
Continuing on from the last scene from the last post, Misuzu invites Arai to have tea with the group, and Haruhi namedrops a ‘Kazumi’ who we never see. I assume they’re actively avoiding her to not get dragged into host club shenanigans. In the anime the twins are sat at the bar, with Mori, Honey and Kyoya at a table next to them, but in the manga they’re all around the one table with Haruhi and Arai at another, and Tamaki on the floor shredding up his guidebook for a hamster happens in both, for the consistency. He also cries in embarrassment when Arai laughs at him, and Kyoya and Honey have to comfort him. (Kyoya tells him not to be embarrassed, like it’ll help at that point, and Honey offers his bunny)
In the anime all the whining is Hikaru’s doing, but in the manga Kaoru is just as judgemental too, and Kyoya questions if they’re trying to pick a fight with Arai instead of saying Hikaru is being critical. (pot calling kettle again!) and Haru and Arai have a conversation about watermelon. It’s still Hikaru who makes the inciting comment about Arai clearly being interested in Haruhi, and the flashback plays the same. We don’t get to see the useless trio (Honey, Mori, Kyo) in their police uniforms as a callback, though. That’s anime only.
Kaoru’s cute little sick act has Hikaru jumping up in bed in genuine concern in the manga, and we see a little flashback of Kaoru and Tamaki talking about how ‘this’ is all about growing up. The whole arc, I assume. This is where episode 19 of the manga finishes, and it starts episode 20 and ends the Karuizawa arc, but of course, this isn’t where it ends in the anime. We’ll talk about it later! (I should stop saying that, we never talk about anything.)
The twin maids from the anime don’t actually exist here in the manga, so it’s actually Kaoru who comes into Haruhi’s room and gets her ready for the date, which is very cute. Haruhi is sweetley naive and doesn’t question that he’s lying, but instead worries because he was fine earlier. Also, the reason why they don’t just go back to the pension is because Kaoru threatened to never speak to Hikaru again if he fucked up. Love that. Kaoru is definitely my favourite twin.
We see the hosts nearby in a cafe in the anime, but in the manga they’re just a distance away from the couple, and also they’re all in disguise. My favourite disguise is Honey dressed as a little girl. In both versions Tamaki glances up at the sky, and in the manga we see a little flashback of Misuzu explaining that mountain weather is unpredictable and they should bring an umbrella.
During the ice cream scene, after Kaoru grabs Tamaki to stop him interfering, Hikaru mentions that he wishes Kaoru was there, and Kaoru cries and then the roles reverse as Tamaki has to hold him back from interfering. The rest of the club sit back in the ice cream stand to eat ice cream (except for Kyoya, who hates joy) and the guy actually running the stall begs them to leave.
After the hosts actually leave, after a montage of Haruhi and Hikaru being totally normal, Arai appears again to spoil everything, but it’s all the same in both, so we’ll skip ahead. In the anime Misuzu answers the pensione phone to Arai asking if Haruhi and Hikaru are back there yet, and then Tamaki calls Hikaru’s phone, but in the manga it’s Hikaru who calls Kaoru to get him to send a car, and Tamaki snatches the phone to yell at him. While Hikaru is running around looking for her, Kaoru phones him back to tell him he called Arai and was told that Haruhi ran off after him. He still finds her in the church, and when she’s startled she jumps and bangs her head on the table. In the manga his headphones are switched off and Haruhi calls them gross and soggy, but in the anime it plays Shissou, because of course it does.Hikaru also only apologises when she falls asleep, so she doesn’t technically forgive him. The rest of the hosts come to collect two of their youngest, Hikaru bites Tamaki’s hand, and the narrator says the useless trio did nothing over the summer.
KyoKao watching over the others like omniscient gays doesn’t happen in the manga, unfortunately, but they are positioned separately from the others, watching Honey about to pummel the fuck out of the watermelon with a stick. I assume they all died after that.
Also, Misuzu thought Tamaki was so cool during the phonecall, and asks him to marry her.
Episode 16... the arc isn't over yet!

The new student arrives (Kyoya Ootori OHHC)
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to my very first ever fanfic! I’ve written countless fanfics but never actually posted them. I’ve also been in a huge ouran brainrot lately so to satisfy my boredom and brainrot I've decided to write this story.
Just a few things before getting started:
- English is not my main language, it is a secondary language to me so please if you see any grammatical errors ignore them
- this isn’t a y/n story i unironically find y/n stories difficult to write. this is a story of a pairing with an OC i created but you can pretend it’s you and change the name as you please.
- i imagined writing this in a movie/series script type of way it makes it easier for me to know who’s going to talk and how the story should go.
- please be kind i am very new to this so any good and constructive criticism is much appreciated!
without further ado, enjoy the story!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tamaki:
Welcome to Ouran Academy the place where the filthy rich kids go to play and relax on their rich kid duties. Only the wealthiest of the wealthiest can afford to apply here, of course with the exception of Haruhi Fujioka. Oh, Haruhi…
Haruhi:
“Senpai, can you please stop staring at me that way? It’s… weird…”
Tamaki snapped away from his thoughts and looked away hiding the tiny blush that appeared on his cheeks. Haruhi rolled her eyes at Tamaki, who always acted that way around her. She usually just dismissed him as clinically crazy. Haruhi was cleaning and tidying up the Host club room before they could officially open to the public but the reason she was doing it was because she had another task in hand. The other members seemed to notice this.
Kyoya:
Is everything alright, Haruhi? You seem to be in quite the hurry
This made her stop midway her cleaning spree.
Haruhi:
I’m sorry but I forgot to mention that the principal wanted me to give the new student a tour of Ouran before the bell rang.
Hikaru:
A new kid? Are they a first year or a second year?
Honey:
What if they’re in their third year?
Haruhi:
No. She’s a second year student.
Kaoru:
Wait… SHE?! The new student is a she?
Haruhi:
At least that’s what she implied when I met her yesterday
Kaoru:
You got to meet the new kid before anyone else?
Haruhi:
Yeah and she’s really nice too. She’s around Kyoya and Tamaki’s age.
Kyoya:
Oh really? Maybe you can introduce her to us
Haruhi:
No way in hell i am
Tamaki dramatically gasped loudly and turned pale as a ghost. Haruhi stared at him deadpanned. She never knows why he always has to do that dramatic effect.
Tamaki:
BUT WHY NOT? DO YOU NOT LOVE US HARUHI?
Haruhi:
No offense to Tamaki but the reason I don't want to introduce her to you guys is because I want a friend outside the host club, you know? It’s not that i don't want to introduce her but if i do you’ll just embarrass me and scare her off.
Tamaki’s eyes shimmered with glee
Tamaki:
Ah, but my dear Haruhi, that’s where you're wrong! My charm knows no bounds and my princely ways are sure enough to charm her!
Hikaru knudges Kaoru
Hikaru:
It seems to me Tamaki has found his new target
Kaoru chuckled in agreement.
Kaoru:
I can already imagine the over-the-top theatrics he’ll put up for her
Kyoya, the ever composed one, chimed in with a hint of enthusiasm.
Kyoya:
Now, It’s up to Haruhi if she wishes to bring her new friend. But I do advise if she’s not the theatrical type do not bring her.
Honey, who was still clinging on to his stuffed pink bunny, piped in with his sugary sweet voice
Honey:
I think it would be nice to have a new friend, especially if she’s around our age, right Takashi?
Mori-senpai who was quiet the whole conversation but listening attentively nodded in agreement.
Tamaki:
Do you know her name?
Haruhi shook her head.
Haruhi:
She never told me her name. All I know about her name is that in almost every piece of her clothing has an acronym sewn in. Other than that? Nothing.
—-------------------------------------------------
Disgusting. Putrid. Horrifying. Bright. Ugly yellow dress. Out of all the private schools he could’ve enrolled me in, it just had to be the one with the most atrocious uniform I had ever seen in my life. This color matched with nothing. I hate the white ruffles underneath it and the pink bowtie on top. Simply atrocious.
Uncle Hiroshi:
I believe you’ll love your new school.
Luz:
What makes you think that? The only reason I’m here is to please you and the family.
The harshness in her voice made his forced smile drop. He stared at his shoes trying to figure out what words to say.
Uncle Hiroshi:
Need I remind you it’s not my fault we are in this situation.
His words hung in the air leaving a thick tension between them, causing tension between him and Luz.
Luz frowned at his words. Feeling a surge of anger bubble up inside of her.
Luz:
Of course. I know it’s my fault. I’m well aware of that situation but just because I'm aware of it doesn’t mean I can't be angry.
Hiroshi:
You? Angry? Don’t be so childish. I have every right to be angry and rightfully so. Have you any idea what I did for you?
She scoffed and rolled her eyes at him.
Luz:
Any idea?... Any idea? You didn’t even fucking bother in listening to my side of the story, you believed theirs but what about me? You never cared. No one in the family fucking cared. You act so high and fucking might pretending I should be thanking you? For what?
Hiroshi:
VIVIENNE.
His voice cut through the air like a knife. Stern and Terrifying. The fury was visible in his eyes and face.
She stayed quiet breathing heavily through her nose like an angered bull.
Luz:
Don’t act like I didn’t overhear what the family said about me. I. Heard. Everything.
Uncle Hiroshi’s face went pale as her words cut through him like a sharp knife. He was so taken aback he couldn’t say anything back to her.
Luz:
You’re just like him.
Hiroshi:
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
His words felt pungent and repulsive. She hated being compared to her father.
Luz’s eyes narrowed with a mix of anger and hurt as Hiroshi’s response hit her like a sharp dagger.
Luz:
Don’t you ever fucking compare me to that bag of shit. I am my own person, my own choices and my own fucking values. Just because we share the same blood doesn’t mean I’m destined to repeat his actions.
Luz's anger burned hot within her, fueling her every movement. She couldn't bear to stay in the car any longer, surrounded by her uncles toxic presence. Slamming the door shut with a resounding thud, she took a step away, distancing herself physically from him.
Without another word, Luz turned away and headed towards the entrance of Ouran Academy, her steps filled with determination and a newfound strength. She knew that she had to forge her own path, away from the toxic influences that threatened to overshadow her true identity.
Hiroshi watched her retreating figure, his heart heavy with the weight of his mistakes. He knew that repairing their relationship would require much more than mere apologies. It would take time, effort, and a genuine willingness to understand and support Luz on her own terms.
As Luz entered the grand doors of Ouran Academy, she took a deep breath, letting the determination within her rise to the surface. She was determined to prove her worth, not just to Hiroshi or her family, but to herself. And with every step she took, she vowed to leave behind the shadows of her past and embrace the person she truly was—a person capable of breaking free from the cycle of pain and disappointment.
As Luz stepped into the bustling halls of Ouran Academy, the sudden silence that fell around her was almost deafening. Conversations halted, and curious gazes turned towards her, studying her every move. It was as if time stood still for a moment, and all eyes were on the newcomer who dared to stand out from the crowd.
Luz could feel the weight of their stares, the whispers that traveled through the air like a current. She was acutely aware of being different, of not fitting into the mold of the typical Ouran student. Her appearance, her background, everything about her seemed to set her apart.
The students exchanged glances, curiosity mixed with a hint of intrigue. They were used to the elite, the wealthy, and the privileged, but Luz was a refreshing change. A ripple of whispers followed in her wake as she walked, a blend of curiosity, speculation, and perhaps even admiration.
Luz caught snippets of their hushed conversations, whispers of her uniqueness and unfamiliarity. Some seemed intrigued, eager to learn more about her. Others held a hint of skepticism, unsure of how to place her in their well-defined social hierarchy.
Haruhi:
Excuse me, Luz?
Luz turned around, relief washing over her as she recognized Haruhi's familiar face amidst the sea of curious onlookers. Haruhi's presence offered a sense of familiarity and comfort in the midst of the overwhelming attention.
Luz nodded, a small smile gracing her lips.
Luz:
Yes, that's me. It's good to see a familiar face. Thank you for remembering me, Haruhi.
Haruhi returned her smile warmly, unaffected by the surrounding scrutiny.
Haruhi:
No problem at all, Luz. I'm glad I ran into you. I can show you to your classroom and help you settle in. Ouran can be quite overwhelming at first, but you'll find your way around soon enough.
Luz:
Of course. Lead the way.
As Luz walked alongside Haruhi, the whispers of the students echoed in her ears, and she couldn't help but catch fragments of their conversations. The focus on her appearance, specifically her skin color, stung with a mix of discomfort and frustration. It seemed that her uniqueness had become a topic of scrutiny and judgment for those around her.
The comments about her skin color, ranging from judgmental to dismissive, highlighted the ignorance and prejudice that still existed within the walls of the prestigious Ouran Academy. It served as a reminder that even in such an elite setting, stereotypes and biases could persist.
Luz's steps faltered for a moment as she absorbed the weight of those words. It was disheartening to realize that her worth was being reduced to superficial judgments, overshadowing her talents, intellect, and individuality.
Luz closed her eyes trying not to focus on their words. She just wanted to get to her first class and be nothing, a ghost.
Kyoya:
Ah, fancy bumping into you Haruhi. Who this might be?
Luz and Haruhi turned their attention to Kyoya, who appeared unexpectedly in the hallway. Haruhi greeted him with a friendly smile, while Luz took a moment to observe him, her curiosity piqued.
Haruhi:
Good morning, Kyoya. This is Luz, a new student here at Ouran Academy. Luz, this is Kyoya Ootori, one of the members of the Host Club.
Luz:
Good morning. It is a pleasure to meet you.
She says a bit flat to him. Kyoya couldn’t help but notice her eyes, they seemed so empty and tired.
Kyoya:
Say Luz, do you wish to accompany me to the academy’s cafe? They have delicious pastries and coffee.
Luz considered Kyoya's offer, feeling a mixture of curiosity and the need for a much-needed energy boost. She appreciated his gesture and the opportunity to explore more of the school's offerings.
Luz:
Thank you for the offer, Kyoya. I could use a pick-me-up, and I've heard great things about the cafe here. I'd be happy to accompany you... only if it's okay with Haruhi. She was going to take me to my first class today.
Kyoya:
Hm… may I see your schedule?
A bit confused at his request she handed him her schedule for the day. Luz considered Kyoya's offer, feeling a mixture of curiosity and the need for a much-needed energy boost. She appreciated his gesture and the opportunity to explore more of the school's offerings.
Her schedule consisted mainly of focus on the arts, her strong suit. She was a very creative and artistic person, not to mention she also has a deep and profound love for music. Ever since she was little she surrounded herself with music and insisted on learning to play the instruments, sing, read and write notes. Her first class would be advanced music class with the history of music and its appreciation, English Literature, Then later it was practicing her German, and then finally it was advanced art.
Kyoya carefully examined the schedule she had.
Kyoya:
If it’s not a bother to Haruhi I could even take you to your class after we finish at the cafe. If that is alright with you, Haruhi.
Haruhi:
Oh, that would actually be perfect! Kyoya knows Ouran better than I do.
Luz was a bit hesitant at first but she ultimately agreed to grab coffee with Kyoya. Kyoya nodded, his usual calm demeanor unchanged.
Kyoya:
Very well. Let's head to the cafe then. Shall we?
Kyoya extended his arm for Luz to hold onto.
Luz hesitated for a moment, finding Kyoya's gesture of extending his arm a bit unexpected. However, she reminded herself that it was a common practice among the students at Ouran, a display of elegance and formality. With a slight blush tinting her cheeks, she gently wrapped her hands around Kyoya's arm, allowing him to lead the way.
Haruhi gave her a small piece of paper to which she said it contained her phone number.
H:
Call me if you get lost or need someone to talk to. I’m always available. See you around!
Kyoya:
Shall we?
As they walked together, Luz couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and anticipation. She found herself observing the dynamics of the school, the interactions between students, and the vibrant atmosphere that surrounded her. The touch of Kyoya's arm provided a sense of security amidst the bustling hallways.
Arriving at the cafe, Luz let go of Kyoya's arm and took a moment to soak in the inviting ambiance. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of delectable pastries filled her senses, heightening her excitement for the culinary experience ahead.
Luz:
Kyo-
She stopped for a moment not knowing if to approach him by his name or not.
Kyoya:
Yes? Don’t be scared of saying my name.
Luz:
Okay, Kyoya, what do you recommend I eat?
Kyoya:
Well my personal favorite is the strawberry tart. I love having it with a warm cup of tea.
Luz:
I think I’ll have that and the croissant with a white chocolate blueberry iced coffee.
Kyoya nodded approvingly, signaling to the waiter to place their orders. As they waited for their treats to arrive, Luz found herself observing Kyoya more closely. There was a certain air of mystery and intellect that surrounded him, and she couldn't help but be intrigued.
Kyoya: I noticed that most of your classes are mostly in the arts. Do you like that?
Luz nodded, a smile playing at the corners of her lips
Luz:
Yes, I do. It was actually my mother that raised me that way. She’s an artist too.
Kyoya listened attentively, his gaze focused on her as if he were unraveling the layers of her being through her words.
Kyoya:
Do you sing or play instruments?
Luz:
I used to
Kyoya:
Why is that?
Luz:
I- um…
She looks down a bit uncomfortable. Kyoya, noticing this, dismissed it and changed the topic of the conversation.
Kyoya:
Please excuse manners but it seems I never introduced myself. My name is Kyoya Ootori. I am the youngest son of my family.
Luz:
You have siblings?
He nods
Kyoya:
Two older brothers, Akito and Yuuichi.
Luz:
I have siblings as well but unlike you I’m actually the eldest. I have four sisters and one brother.
Their conversation was interrupted by the waiter bringing their food. When Luz took the first bite of the strawberry tart and her iced coffee she felt like she was melting. It passed her expectations. The combination of the sweet and tangy strawberry filling with the buttery crust was a delightful treat for her taste buds. She couldn't help but let out a satisfied sigh.
Kyoya:
I’ll take a guess and say you like the food?
She nods.
Luz:
It’s so delicious. It’s the best coffee and pastry I've ever had!
Kyoya chuckled softly, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes as he watched Luz enjoy the food.
They both finished their treats and prepared to leave the cafe, the pleasant conversation lingering in the air. As they both walked down the halls Kyoya would tell her quick shortcuts to arrive at her classrooms so she could avoid student traffic.
From the corner of his eye he noticed her scarf had something written on it.
Kyoya:
Pardon my intrusion but what does this stand for?
He gently passes his thumb over the small purple stitchings.
Luz:
Oh, that? It’s an acronym of my name. My mom used to do that to all of my clothes
  Kyoya:
What does the V stand for?
Luz:
Vivienne. It’s my first name.
Kyoya's eyes flickered with intrigue as he listened to Luz's explanation. He found himself captivated by the little details that made her who she was. Kyoya had always been observant, seeking meaning in every aspect of people's lives. Luz's scarf, with its embroidered initials, piqued his curiosity further.
Kyoya:
Vivienne... It's a beautiful name. Unique and elegant, just like you.
Luz's cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Luz:
Thank you… no one has ever said that about my name before…
Kyoya's eyes sparkled with a hint of playfulness as he responded.
Kyoya:
I must admit, Luz, your name holds a certain elegance and beauty that befits you. It's a pleasure to have met someone as captivating as you, with a name that holds such charm. It's a rare find in a place like Ouran.
Luz blushed slightly at his words, feeling a mixture of flattery and intrigue.
Luz could feel her heart gaining speed by the second. She didn’t know how to respond so he nervously chuckled.
 Luz:
Oh stop you don't mean that
Kyoya chuckled softly, a subtle glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
Kyoya:
On the contrary, Luz, I assure you that I do mean every word. I have a keen eye for appreciating genuine beauty and uniqueness, and in you, I see both. Your name is just the beginning of the many intriguing qualities that make you who you are.
Luz's cheeks turned a deeper shade of pink as she tried to compose herself.
 Luz: well- I- um...
Kyoya: This will be your classroom as of now. she was snapped back to reality when they arrived at her music classroom.
Kyoya's voice brought Luz back to the present, and she glanced at the door of her music classroom, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Luz:
Thank you for bringing me to my classroom today, and for the cafe. Hopefully we’ll see each other around?
Kyoya's gaze met Luz's, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes as a faint smile curved his lips.
Kyoya:
Of course, Luz. I believe our paths will cross again in this vast academy. I look forward to our future encounters.
His voice held a subtle undertone of flirtation, leaving Luz both intrigued and flustered. He gently raised her hand to his lips and with a delicate touch, he pressed a soft kiss against her gloved knuckles , a gesture both elegant and chivalrous. Luz's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected display of affection, her cheeks flushing with a deeper shade of pink.
The gentle touch sending shivers down her spine. She found herself momentarily captivated by his charm and the unexpected display of gallantry. Her mind buzzed with a whirlwind of emotions, a mixture of flattery and curiosity.
With a shy smile, she withdrew her hand, feeling a lingering warmth where his lips had touched.  She stood there, her hand tingling from his touch, a mixture of surprise and intrigue filling her thoughts. She watched him walk away, her mind buzzing with the memory of his lips on her skin, wondering what this encounter might mean for their future interactions.

I Just Finished Reading Pride and Prejudice for the First Time and the Numbers Just So Happen to be 7 and 7, So I’m Assigning Each Host Member As a Member of the Bennet Family
Mrs. Bennet: Tamaki - Ya’ll this woman is wild and is known for her silliness and rollercoaster of emotions and behavior. She is quite silly and even though the family all lowkey makes fun of her, they bend a LOT to her every whim and to appease her. So Tamaki… you are deemed the matron of the family. If you need more explanation, you can @me with this one.
Mr. Bennet: Kyoya - The man canNOT be bothered by the silliness of his wife, but still vaguely supports her and looks after her. And that’s how Kyoya is for Tamaki. He looks after him, and even when Tamaki gets on his nerves, they still look after each other. I know the whole “mommy and daddy” thing is reversed here (as Tamaki claims HE’S the daddy… ha), but Kyoya is NOT Mrs. Bennet.
Jane: HONEY - OKAY LOOK HEAR ME OUT!!! When you see who I have as Lizzie, it’ll make sense. ALSO PLEASE DON’T @ ME FOR ANOTHER MANGA REFERENCE, THE ANIME NEEDS MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT FOR MORE CHARACTERS OKAY AND HONEY WAS JIPPED IN THAT DEPARTMENT! Anyways, in the anime and the manga, Honey is seen as cute and lovely, well liked by everyone, and he generally gives most people the benefit of the doubt and also likes most people (similar to Jane). He hides his own true feelings very closely though. SPOILERS - when he meets the girl he ends up with, he toys around with her a bit, and she almost gives up. LIKE JANE AND BINGLEY! Not really that Jane toys around with Bingely, just that he thinks she is impartial to him because she keeps her own true feelings and heart so well guarded.
Elizabeth: HARUHI - Am I pairing the two main heroines up, absolutely, but they FIT! They are both headstrong, forward thinkers, very practical, do not put up with assholes, HAVE BOTH BEEN HARASSED BY OLD WOMEN WHO THINK THEY KNOW BEST FOR THEIR GRANDSON/NEPHEW, are caretakers for their family, etc. Also, like how Lizzie and Jane are close, Haruhi and Honey seem to have a special understanding and they look out for each other. Haruhi sometimes confides in Honey what she can’t to the others. Also, even though she and Kyoya are not as close as Lizzie and her father, Haruhi and her actual father ARE very close, and Kyoya does have a special fondness for Haruhi, and he does look after her in his own way. It *works*.
Mary: Mori lmao - look, this girl is silent, prone to embarrassing herself and making philosophical proclamations - sometimes embarrassing herself BECAUSE of those proclamations (lmao think Mori in that Chika’s Down with Honey declaration or whatever the ep is called where Mori is sooo sure that Honey will throw the match… and then he doesnt XD), and she’s very, very smart just kind of… awkward. And ya’ll, I know we love our silent king Mori, but I bet he’s silent because whenever he opens his mouth, he’s awkward as fuck. I adore him, and I adore Mary. They’re just a couple of weirdos judging you from the corner.
Lydia: Hikaru - It just so happens that Lydia and Kitty are close in age and likeness, like Hikaru  and Kaoru being twins. But beyond that, Lydia is the more wild. She’s more taken by passion and outbursts, like Hikaru is with wanting all of Haruhi’s affections and not liking to share. They can both be charming, crave attention and to be seen apart from their siblings, and are major flirts. This all being said, Hikaru does go on through the trials and tribulations of ~character development~, while Lydia stays wild, but I think they both could share some crazy stories.
Kitty: Kaoru - Kitty, as described at the end of the book (spoilers if you haven’t read Pride and Prejudice… it’s old though so…), she stays a lot with her older sisters and is able to become a bit more tamed. Like in the manga (yes, once again, please read it so we can all chat :( ), Kaoru spends some time away from Hikaru so that they can grow separately. Even in the Halloween episode, Haruhi states that Kaoru is kinder and a bit more gentle on his own versus Hikaru who only gets worse. Like with Kitty on her own, she is able to be guided to being more “sensible” ~ thus ~ Kaoru.

Ouran High School Host Club - Borrower AU
I’ve had this idea in the back of my brain since July 2020, and I have periodically typed down some stuff to actually develop it. Hope you guys enjoy, and feel free to send me asks if you want to know more or have your own fun ideas for this concept! (Disclaimer: This is primarily self-indulgent. I want to speculate [and maybe write fanfic about] G/T with the characters, not construct an entire complex narrative. Not to say all logic goes in the trash, but this is mostly about having fun.)
BASIC PREMISE
Haruhi is a Borrower whose tumultuous existence has led her to live in the walls of Ouran Academy. She’s drawn to Music Room 3 because the Host Club orders food in abundance and there is always some left out for her to scavenge. She is eventually discovered by the club’s members, but is quickly assured that they bear her no ill intentions. In fact, quite the opposite - they are quite taken with their little discovery. One factor from canon remains intact: when Haruhi is first found, she’s mistaken as a boy. The truth is quickly clarified, but her ability to pass as a boy sparks an idea... Kyoya, the vice-president of the club, offers Haruhi a deal: Haruhi will join the club as a host in exchange for food, comfortable living accommodations, and basic assurances of safety. Put simply: she will not have to “borrow” because they’ll make sure her needs are met.
“How the heck is Haruhi gonna stay a secret from the world at large?” Well, for the sake of self-indulgence, this AU operates on the logic of “what happens in Host Club stays in Host Club” where Haruhi is concerned. All of the guests understand this and treat it with the highest regard (OR ELSE)
CHARACTER BIOS
Haruhi: Self-sufficient, physically sturdy, and extremely practical. To that end, she has very little regard for gender norms, cutting her hair short so she doesn’t have to manage it and wearing whatever is most functional for borrowing.
As a host, she can often set hearts aflutter without even trying due to her size. Though she doesn’t easily welcome physical contact at first, she does eventually build enough rapport that she will step into the hands of certain people. Tamaki: He is high-strung on matters concerning Haruhi to the point of annoyance; she often accuses him of treating her like a porcelain doll. Kyoya: He recognizes how the novelty of her being small could appeal to girls and is the one to suggest she work for the host club. Kyoya is very stern about keeping Haruhi safe and comfortable, both for her value to the club and a strong sense of obligation to uphold their agreement. Hani-Senpai: Honey’s childlike innocence helps to put Haruhi at ease shortly after they get acquainted; it also helps that he frequently shares his sweets with her, since Haruhi’s first and truest love is food. He is general very sweet and polite, though he can get a little overexcited. Mori: His quiet, imposing demeanor intimidates Haruhi at first. But seeing the way he interacts with Honey-senpai, she quickly realizes that Mori is a gentle giant. If Haruhi needs to be carried or given a lift, Mori is the one she prefers to rely on. He is gentle without being overly fussy (unlike Tamaki). Hikaru and Kaoru: These two love toy with Haruhi a lot in canon. How do you think that goes in an AU where she’s toy-sized? Haruhi’s safety may be a top priority for the Host Club, but the twins still like to have their fun. Though they are mindful of Haruhi’s boundaries, they often make a point of testing what those boundaries are. Ryouji “Ranka” Fujioka Though I haven’t thought all of them out fully, there are differences between this AU and the canonical version of this character. -Not related to Haruhi -Still a cross-dresser or potentially identifying as transgender. (The weirded-out attitudes from the canon characters would be dialed back or removed entirely in any potential stories). -Comes into contact with the Host Club through different circumstances. (Perhaps connected to Haruhi’s lack of gendered thinking.) Renge Houshakuji Once again rising to a management role within the Host Club, cue the appropriate amount of gushing when she learns about Haruhi. Once it comes to light that Haruhi is a girl (despite Haruhi’s gender-neutral sentiments and practical outlook), Renge pushes for her to be given a more varied wardrobe. Sho and Ari A young couple contracted to build a functional dollhouse for Haruhi to live in. Their names are a nod to Sho and Arrietty from the film Arrietty. Gojo and Kitagawa (from My Dress-Up Darling) They are hired to make clothes for Haruhi. Kitigawa measures Haruhi and serves as a style guide, Gojo handles all of the actual crafting.

I like writing my journal and my class notes by hand. I don't have preferences for paper as long as it's not that overly smooth paper that is hard to write in. My favorite pen is the Pilot G-Tec-C4 (i swear this is not sponsored) because it's a perfect mix of looking smooth and not taking too long to dry and it generally feels good to write with.
I tend to go for thin pens (and mechanical pencils). 0.5mm is what i usually use, but once i got a very cheap 0.2mm mechanical pencil and i figured i would break the lead really often. Luckily once i got the hang of it, it was harder to break the lead of that one than of my 0.5mm mechanical pencil. I'm still trying to find more leads for it because once i ran out of them turns out 0.2mm leads are hard to find!
When i write fic though i write it all in the computer because i like the feel and the sound of the keys when i get really into it and type fast. I like changing up my fonts once in a while to help bring variety to my writing. I like using templates for books and go through pinterest to search photos for the cover that no one else will see.
My process for writing fic is very messy. I usually begin with a skeleton of excerpts i want to include. I add ideas as they occur to me, and i try to place them in the timeline of the fic as it makes best sense to me in the moment. I begin writing in chronological order once i have a few ideas in the skeleton, and i might continue to add to the skeleton as i write out the first parts.
Once i'm done (if i'm ever done) i begin editing, which is the overwhelming part. I usually realize that i need to rewrite some parts, edit out scenes and write in new ones. But often i also realize that it would be better if i rearranged the order of my scenes, so i often feel like i'm pulling out scissors from my pocket and cutting fabric into pieces only to try to sew it together again. Sometimes i picture myself sitting on the floor with mismatched pieces of fabric around me and i can't make sense of anything as i think 'what have i done'. But it usually works.
(Sorry this is too long, i just got excited about the questions. Also thank you for introducing me to kyokao, i had never thought about it before but once i did. Once i did i cannot unthink it. They make so much sense. It's been living in my mind for weeks. Might end up writing for them at this rate)
omg thank you so much for answering!!!! im sorry it took a bit to reply!
love favorite pens heehee I always have the same Uniball rollerballs for writing and Pentel sign pen for sketching. Such a difference in feel between the tiniest change in size!!!
yes yes!!! I love to know people’s thoughts on fonts! Personally I always use Garamond for the like intended-to-be-used prose, dialogue or a passage etc. and some other font (usually a sans serif) for notes and like - SETTING - beat - should do this - or action notes like (she sits, opens to the page) kinda script style.
I loved the way you describe putting together pieces of fabric!!! also this was not too long at all please I love to hear (read) it all!!! thank you!
(also oh my goodness… welcome to our ranks. I was blind but now I see and somehow it makes so much sense to me… I’m so so glad anyone out there agrees though of course no one is ever obligated to!
there’s all the business during the sports festival and later volumes but I think it especially could work looking back at the scene where they look at the others having fun after the Karuizawa mess and Kyoya asks about Kaoru’s strategy, paraphrasing but: “what your plan worked worked too well and they actually fell in love?” “Oh, it’s too soon for that.”
potential energy… I think it doesn’t have to happen but it could!! perhaps it’s too soon! maybe it’ll take a while!! but who knows… they said it themselves their club is full of dummies!
I have a crazy bullet point into chronological order beat list doc that could be a fic or them if I was smart enough to fully realize it….. maybe!! maybe.. but to do it right would take sooooooo long! slow burns can be magic but they take so much work! and in proper Ouran fashion I think every small thing is an epiphany for these guys lol)

pairing : ohshc x gn reader summary : perhaps no one at ouran is more qualified to deal with a broken heart than the host club. with a student’s heartbreak painfully obvious to everyone but themself, the host club takes it upon themselves to remedy that. all against that student’s better judgement. notes : multi-chapter fic, sfw, doesn’t follow canon plot word count : 2.8k+

You thought it would be best to avoid the Host Club today, especially considering your failed attempt at hero yesterday and Haruhi’s groundbreaking revelation at lunch. You couldn’t deal with them today, so you would just spend your afternoon with people who didn’t make you think about relationships and your love life.
“You’re hella sloppy, Captain,” your libero said as yet another one of your serves went off court.
“It’s not like I’m doing it on purpose,” you groused. Your libero tossed up a ball and you tried to serve that one with even less success. Seeing it go in the exact opposite direction you’d intended was a physical wound.
“Coach is going to kick you off the team at this rate,” your libero said. The words didn't even hurt because you knew they were true. In fact, it was lucky today was only an informal practice or the coach would be giving you an earful right now.
Actual practice started next week and your first game was a month and a half from now. You'd have to pick up your slack and pick it up soon.
“I just want to play a game,” you said, moving to the back of the relay line. “It's been way too long.”
“We'll be getting to that,” your setter said, sending a ball in a perfect arc to your middle blocker. “Just waiting up for the other team.”
“Really?” It was a little early in the season to be calling other schools over to practice. Sometimes the basketball team was willing to play a game or two but they could hardly be considered practice.
“Sorry we're late! Hope you weren't waiting for too long.”
You turned eagerly to the door of the gym only to draw up short.
“No problem,” your setter said. “Just dump your stuff by the corner over there and we can get started.”
You waited for someone to burst out laughing, but your team just chucked the practice balls into a basket, talking easily among themselves.
Was this for real? What the hell was the Host Club doing here? Why was everyone acting like they knew even the first thing about volleyball?
You shuffled over to where the Host Club was depositing their things. Whatever lie they had concocted to get in here, you doubted your volleyball team would have thought to check up on them. They probably would have no idea what the Host Club even was besides the ludicrous stories that sometimes floated around. Certainly not any club willing to help with practice.
“What are you doing here?” you asked Tamaki. You tried your best to make your tone curious instead of accusatory.
“One of our club members is practicing volleyball, so I figured we could stop by to help,” Tamaki said with a sweet smile. Your stomach swooped, trying to read if the expression was a flirtation or just kindness.
“You guys know how to play?”
“No, but it can’t be that hard to learn,” Hikaru said from your left.
“Yeah, how hard could it be?” Kaoru added.
You took in all of the hosts, wondering where they had managed to find coordinated tracksuits. It wasn’t like any of the actual volleyball team were in their jerseys. You yourself had thrown on the first pair of shorts and t-shirt you’d found in your closet.
“If they ask, we’re part of the track team,” Kaoru said, noticing you studying him.
“Kyoya really let you guys come? He’s not worried about you all losing money?”
“We aren’t losing money,” the Shadow King said, because even indirectly mentioning him summoned his presence. “We’ve invited our usual guests to watch today’s practice.”
“Wait, you guys shouldn’t—”
It was too late. You hadn’t noticed Renge by the door, but now she threw open the gymnasium doors, waving the crowd of guests who had been waiting outside to take their place on the benchers. Your team looked up, surprised at the sudden burst of activity.
“I didn’t know we were going to have an audience,” your middle blocker remarked, his neck starting to get red.
“That won’t be a problem, will it?” Kyoya asked.
“I guess not,” your setter said. “It’s not like these practices are private.”
You sighed. “Hey, do you mind if I talk to the track team for a second?”
He shrugged. You looped one arm around Tamaki’s and the other around Kyoya and pulled them to the corner of the gym. Sure enough, the rest of the hosts followed a beat later.
“Look, I don’t know what you guys are doing here but I just wanted to tell you that I’m sorry about yesterday,” you said. “I get that I was reckless and that I should have been paying more attention to club instructions. If things didn’t turn out the way they did, a lot more people than just me could have gotten hurt.” You took in a breath. “But at the same time, I still think I deserve some credit for at least trying to help Tamaki, even if I didn’t know what the hell was going on.”
Tamaki, Kyoya and Mori looked at each other.
“We should apologize too,” Tamaki said. He bowed his head. “I appreciated that you weren’t willing to let me get trampled by a horse.”
“I lost my temper. I apologize,” Kyoya said deliberately. “I was afraid that something had happened to you. That’s the last thing I wanted.”
Mori was silent for a beat. “I thought you were being stubborn on purpose, but what you did yesterday was quite honourable. I probably would have done the same in your position.”
You nodded and smiled ruefully. “I think we should all just be glad that no one got hurt.”
“Agreed.”
The hosts kept looking at you. Tamaki was sheepish; Kyoya was expectant; Mori was thoughtful. It was impossible not to read into the silence; to wonder if there was some ulterior motive to the way they were looking at you now.
“Let’s get playing then,” you said, forcing yourself to look away. “If you’re here to play volleyball, you better do it.”
Because your team weren’t total sadists, you split in two and added the Host Club to either team to make things more fair. Honey was relegated to the scoreboard, where the guests cooed at how adorable he looked perched up on the stool. Kyoya could not stand to be undignified in any way, and so had taken up the coach’s station. Kaoru and Tamaki were on the other side with the majority of your team. Hikaru, Haruhi, and Mori ended up on your team with your libero. Renge took it upon herself to stir the guests’ into a frenzy with her impromptu chants and banner-waving.
The Host Club was predictably terrible at volleyball. To their credit, what they lacked in skill they more than made up for in enthusiasm. They didn’t shy away from the ball and even if their form was abysmal, they were at least able to get the ball up over the night. More often than not though, your team just ended up playing around the hosts.
Although your team was at the disadvantage, you were surprised at how well Haruhi was able to keep up. For someone with no prior volleyball experience, she wasn’t half bad. And Mori was tall enough to make a semi-decent blocker no matter what he did. Hikaru, if nothing else, could be relied on to make that first contact with the ball after it was served to keep it up in the air, after which you would set to your libero to return to the other team or vice versa.
Throughout the game, you had a nagging suspicion that Kyoya had played volleyball before, or at least had some rudimentary knowledge of it. He was able to call a point each time one was earned and even without anyone prompting, could call out fouls when they happened. Of course he would feign inexperience only to turn out to be a pretty good referee.
Of course.
For a while, you could almost imagine it was a real game you were playing in. The cheers every time a point was earned definitely helped. Everything else fled your head and there was only the ball in the air, the shuffle of feet, and leaping up to meet the ball.
And then your team reached set point. Surprising, but like it always did, seeing Honey flip the scoreboard from 23 to 24 was like lighting a fire under your ass. A burst of red-hot energy coursed through you.
“Only one point left,” you yelled, more for the hosts’ benefit than any of the volleyball team. “We can do this, guys, come on!”
Everyone was breathing hard, sweat darkening the neck of their shirts and dripping down their faces. You didn’t  think you had ever seen the hosts physically exert themselves before, but judging from the fanatic cheering and screaming from the bleachers, the guests were eating the sight right up.
You internally cheered that it was your libero’s turn to serve. Their serves were erratic but explosive. If they were smart, they would aim at either Kaoru or Tamaki, forcing the other team to return a weak ball. From there, you’d dart forward, set the ball and your libero would score the point.
You shot a glance at your libero, hoping they would catch all of your thoughts. They grinned in response, and you took that to mean they understood.
Kyoya blew the whistle. Your libero sent the ball across the court in a high-speed arc.
Yes! You grinned, watching it sail directly into Tamaki’s path. He looked up, surprised, and threw up his hands to keep it from smashing into his face.
The ball went even further back on their side. “Oh hell,” your setter growled, scrambling to get under the ball and give your outside hitter a proper set.
“Mine!” your libero called, already in position to receive the ball. Your outside hitter returned the ball a little harder than expected, though, and it went over your libero’s head.
“Haruhi!” you shouted, already running over. You didn’t think she’d be able to get the ball, but she sank into a crouch and bumped the ball perfectly.
“Nice receive!” you crowed. You switched directions, repositioning yourself to set the ball.
You heard someone’s foot slip and they went down hard. Oh hell. Was that your libero? You were already in the air, fingers on the ball. You didn’t have time to redirect—
All of a sudden, Mori was there, making eye contact with you. You let the ball fly, your heart in your throat as you watched Mori propel himself upward, his arm drawn back.
The ball landed on the opposite end of the court so quickly no one even registered it. They only heard the resounding boom! as the ball ricocheted off the floor.
The cheers were loud, but you were deafening.
“LET’S GO!!” you screamed, pumping your fist. You rushed to swing your arm around Haruhi’s shoulders, nearly knocking her off her feet. “Did you see that receive? Beautiful! Gorgeous! That was amazing, Haruhi!”
“Oh, uh, thanks,” she said, rubbing her now-pink forearms.
“And Mori! My guy!” you threw open your arms in his direction. “You were born to be a middle blocker! And that spike, holy! Quit the Host Club right now and join the volleyball team, you faker!”
Mori looked overwhelmed. “I’m glad I was able to score.”
“Damn right you were able to score!”
You reached down to swing your libero to their feet. They were more used to your post-game hollering than the Host Club and gladly let you tackle them into a hug and swing them around. As you dragged your libero along with you to gloat to your teammates, the hosts gathered together, similar expressions of surprise and confusion on their faces. Honey passed around towels and bottles of water.
“Geez, what’s wrong with Y/N? Do you think they’re going to burst a blood vessel or something?” Kaoru said, wiping his face.
“I nearly went deaf when they started screaming,” Hikaru said, wincing. “I’ve never heard them that loud.”
Haruhi’s smile was bashful.  “I didn’t know they liked hugs so much.”
“That look of concentration on their face was terrifying,” Tamaki said faintly, his hair sticking up in all directions. “I thought they were going to murder me with the ball.”
“Athletes are invariably competitive,” Kyoya said. “You shouldn’t be surprised that Y/N has a different personality on and off the court.”
“Their physical ability is quite impressive,” Mori said, more to the floor than any of the hosts. “I was not expecting it.”
“I’m so glad Y/N-chan won!” Honey exclaimed, swinging his legs on the stool. “It was so exciting! Even though Hikaru, Haruhi and Mori were dragging Y/N behind, they still managed to win!”
The aforementioned hosts winced.
“You say it how it is, huh, Honey?” Hikaru said dryly.
“I had no idea volleyball was such a demanding sport,” Tamaki huffed. “And it’s so violent! I nearly had my nose broken on multiple occasions!”
“That’s because you kept staring at the ball instead of moving out of the way,” Kaoru quipped.
Kyoya pushed up his glasses. “All in all, I’d say today’s game was a success. Calculating the Host Club’s revenue today by charging for tickets at the door, we were able to make about a quarter more than we usually do.”
“You were charging people to watch?” Haruhi asked.
“Of course. Why else would I invite our guests here? We’ll split the revenue with the volleyball team forty-sixty.”
Haruhi narrowed her eyes at him.
Kyoya blinked. “Oh, my mistake. Thirty-seventy.”
“I just hope this doesn’t ruin the guests’ perception of Y/N’s tragic type,” Kaoru said, gulping down a bottle of water.
“On the contrary, this is just what Y/N needs,” Renge said, strolling toward the hosts. She nodded in Y/N’s direction, and everyone turned to watch Y/N being swarmed by guests, sheepishly accepting bottles of water and autograph requests. There was a glow about them, an ease to way they flicked sweat from their forehead and settled into a tired but happy haze. The hosts couldn’t deny the appeal of watching someone perform at their best and then be terribly humble about it afterwards.
“The tragic host has just revealed a new facet of themself,” Renge said smugly. “They are gentle and anxious around other people’s hearts, but they are ruthless on the court. Such clashing personalities, all contained in one person. How intriguing. Perhaps volleyball is an outlet for their anguish.”
Pointedly over the hosts’ shoulders, someone said, “You don’t know Y/N at all if that’s what you think.”
Mayako. She strode toward them, her long ponytail swinging behind her. It was hard to read the expression on her face.
Tamaki laughed lightly. “Well, we know that’s not how Y/N really is, we’re just saying—” but Mayako didn’t let him finish.
“The Y/N you’re seeing right now? That’s the real Y/N.” She threw a hand in Y/N’s direction. “ Loud. Impulsive. Bursting with energy. They’re not meek. They’re not reserved. They’re not miserable. If that’s the role you’ve cast for Y/N, I don’t know why they’re still playing along with it. It’s so opposite to who they are that it's almost laughable.”
Mayako’s words were pointed but she wasn’t angry. She was defensive. Protective.
Of Y/N.
Kyoya kept his voice steady. “We’re aware of that, Mayako-san. Still, you are aware a part of the Host Club is intentionally keyed up for the guests’ sake.”
“But Y/N isn’t keying anything up,” Mayako said sharply. “They’re just lying. The host type they’re going for isn’t anywhere close to who they really are. I thought that was supposed to be important for all of you? Authenticity?”
Honey seemed a little confused when he said, “Of course we know this is how Y/N really is. We’re their friends, after all. We’re not surprised because we weren’t expecting it. We’re surprised because it’s been a while since they’ve been like this.”
A line appeared between Mayako’s eyebrows.
“If you say so. How you want to act around Y/N is none of my concern, only, I know I wouldn’t forget who Y/N really is after all of the acting.”
She walked away then, approaching Y/N and tapping on their shoulder with a gentle smile. Y/N’s face lit up when they saw her, then dimmed, maybe a little embarrassed. Mayako said something to them and they laughed. All of the hosts tensed when Y/N leaned down to whisper something privately into Mayako’s ear.
“She’s just making a big deal out of nothing, isn’t she?” Haruhi hesitantly asked.
No one replied.

….this week's manga updates ^^
Tumblr media
(c) Bisco Hatori (Ouran High School Host Club)
This is the LONGEST manga rant i've ever written...
well... except for the Samurai Deeper Kyo one.. that melmel witnessed in person where I pretty much talked in a very rapid pace for 2 hours. yeah. go me. so. here it is….
this is just all about mangas. nothing else…. oh. and I have finals next week….
Naruto 385 ……uh… and the battle ensues. there 'ya go… ^^ oh. and a little history lesson about the sharingan..blah blah blah..
BLEACH 306 …..eh. nothing much happens. yeah.
….and the BEST update… [This is LONG. and MIGHT BE… or.. erm. IS confusing….so…. if u don't wanna read… that's fine. lol….so.. yeah]
Ouran High School Host Club 57 …the one and ONLY manga that makes me feel all romanc-y and girly…which is REALLY weird… coz I don't usually like this genre….. but.. anyway…..
Ouran. YAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWEEEEEEESOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEE………. …..spoilers here on. i love this chapter so much. i'm not leaving anything out.
so. ok.
Life at the Music Room 3 continues like normal.. EXCEPT… 4 people are acting out of character. ^^
1 Hikaru has changed his color to something dark… because he and Kaoru have realized their individuality….On other issues…. AHEM. Hikaru………………….. seems to be CONSTANTLY NEEDING to follow his brother's advices and orders about uh… controlling himself. I dunno why. But he seems to want to get Tamaki off of Haruhi's back all the time. I WONDER WHY. hmmmm ^^ (For every 3 minutes he can wait and succesfully control himself… Kaoru puts 100Y in his piggy bank…lol) ..of course. once the 3 minutes is over. He runs after them REALLY fast. LOL…. (sound effects: SLAM! WAITING'S OVER!)
2 Kaoru… at this point… have given up on his pursuit for Haruhi because he realized who Haruhi really loves. HOWEVER. He makes it clear that he is on Hikaru's side. ..and constantly gives advices on how to deal with their present predicament (which will be presented on the next 2 characters). He also goes out of the way to make sure the next 2 characters figure out their feeling for each other ON THEIR OWN.. (poor Nekozawa…lol) because according to him. Helping the 2 is cheating… and would TOTALLY kill off the chances Hikaru MIGHT have… coughif there is actually anycough
..oh. here's a scene after the "SLAM. WAITING's OVER.. which is the scene after the dialogue I wrote under Honey's section down there…. so. here: Kyoya: Isn't 100Y each time too cheap? Kaoru: How naive, Kyoya-sempai! For Hikaru to make Haruhi turn around, it's no good if he doesn't at least do this much!!! Because at any rate, if he were to confess now, he would definitely be rejected!! Hikaru: KAORU!!! No matter how you look at it… You're saying too much!!! Kaoru: Here. hands over a book to him Since you got angry.. I'll add a book reading assignment in your training program--- Hikaru: stops ..and goes to read a book DAMNIT! Honey: You really are hard with him, Kao-chan. Kaoru: Kinda… It is the whip of love.. Leave him to me from now on
3 Tamaki. Hmmm….. He.. as usual. and like what you expected. is VERY THICK. (and yes. I'm using Ron Weasley vocabulary here). He doesn't realize WHY Haruhi is SICK… why SHE is obviously avoiding him… why she is red.. and why her body temperature goes up when he's with her. …"Your temperature has suddenly risen! We should call an ambulance!!" …He actually thinks of taking her to the hospital for check up the next day. Hmmm…. CHARACTER WISE. He has IMPROVED GREATLY. For the first time in the history of this manga… Kyoya isn't the only one managing the club. Tamaki too…. is now supervising Kyoya's work. KNOW WHY? Because he's using the club to practice his business skills… since if you remember in chapter 56… Haruhi told him there's nothing wrong for going for the whole Suoh heir business… so…. he's completely business-like now. EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO HARUHI.
4 OUR HEROIN. VERY. VERY. VEEEERRRYYY. confused about herself. Hmmm… >> WHY oh WHY is she ALWAYS having this cold-like sickness? coughlovesickcough …she SAID she went to the doctor. But they seem to tell her she's COMPLETELY healthy. Hmmm…. ^^ ..of course… DADDY is worried. So he checks up on her temperature by touching her cheeks. Our heroin blushes. And her heartbeat quickens… so.. she avoids him. Tamaki… thinking her daughter hates him… runs after her… and they practically play TAG inside Music Room 3. …GUESS WHAT's HIKARU doing? ^^
eh..here's a scene after the dialogue in the Kaoru section: Kaoru: More than that, the problem is Haruhi's attitude towards Tono (Tamaki). She is obviously conscious of him. Honey: Yes. She is.. Kyoya: She has said something like she has a "cold". Haruhi is unaware of it herself.
..and the other 3 characters. why not.
5 Honey. …aside from his usualy sweets addiction… well.. here's a conversation…
H: What do you think Takahashi (Mori)? M: ………… H: That's right… like I thought. Haru-chan has been acting weird ever since then. I don't know what happened between her and Tama-chan.. but it may be "THAT." Kyoya: It IS "THAT." If you want proof, LOOK: *Hikaru seething with a dark look in his eyes.. with a LOT of the word "anger" surrounding him… and Kaoru looking at his watch waiting for 3 minutes Kyoya: ….Hikaru is in a bad mood. *Mori and Honey sweatdrops*
…now isn't THAT the funniest scene EVER? ..oh. and this is happening while Tamaki and Haruhi are playing TAG. LOL
6 Mori : ah. ….need I say more? [He acually doesn't say anything…. as u might have read in that dialogue up there]
7 Kyoya…… "We give them because our happiness is for everybody to come everyday to the host club in good health" (thinking: and more importantly for merit points) …haha.. typical Kyoya ^^ …and of course. as expected. He just stands there to watch…. probably collecting DATA.. knowing HIM.
8 Mei. I honestly never liked Mei. I mean.. she's ok.. but yeah. Anyhow… she is AWESOME in this chapter. Know why? Because she gives Haruhi a MAGAZINE. A TEEN MAGAZINE.
So. the next day. Haruhi comes in school….. remembers what she read in the magazine. and realizes she's in love with Tamaki. THE END. ^_^ yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so. yeah. the end of my manga rant.
Naruto is by Masashi Kishimoto BLEACH is by Tite Kubo Ouran Koukou (High School) Host Club is by Bisco Hatori
…go read them!! lol… if u want. [And wow. when I started this… I was in a REALLY REALLY bad mood. I'm ok now! ..happy even!!!!!]
Oh. I also read Vampire Knight by Hino Matsuri………
anyhow. I KNOW you don't care about what I read… but mel told me to tell her what the mangas I read are so..here they are. ^^
PS. This blog was originally posted on DeviantArt.
