I’ve fallen in love with @cloudy-dreams ‘s Welcome Home borrower AU! I had to doodle a few things. I thought it’d be cute for you to dance with Wally’s hand- I was heavily inspired from the “Dreams to Dream” scene from Fievel Goes West.
I also had to shove my borrower self insert in there ffff
AU is Created by @cloudy-dreams. a human being transferred to the neighborhood, with a noticeable difference in their appearance, is that they’re small. I had a giant brain rot for this Au. Check out more of @cloudy-dreams Au Here.
Here is my Idea of Borrower Y/n. I like to imagine this little borrower being a bit more adventurous and even a bit... Rebellious. Cause according to Cloudy-dreams, Wally absolutely not letting Y/N leave home.
So This little borrower does everything in their power to escape home. And they Did.
Only cause Home, one day took pity on the 5 to 6-inch tall neighbor. Home gave them a 10-minute head start while they kept Wally inside.
Y/n used this time to explore. Bully Eddie with their intimidating small frame, and tried to haggle prices with Howdy.
Mark is not a fan of dirty lil feral tromping around in his food. Its unhygienic.

I love the idea of a human who can’t stand borrowing. Not because they care about stolen crumbs, or the invasion of their privacy, but just because the idea of someone handling their food is gross.
Do you let your human friends grab food off your plate with their bare hands? Would you eat food that they stepped on?
No. Of course not. Because its UNHYGENIC.
Also bonus points if anyone spies the lil reference.
This is the second time Oliver has approached James specifically to request assistance. After he approached the police man and saw him perform an arrest the first time, he came to the conclusion that James is a human who would be good to have as backup just in case... James is confused, but the tiny man who keeps asking him for help always ends up leading him to people who are in need of help, so he goes along with it.
But of course, they become friends. And Oliver, as per usual, takes things too literally.
James offered his pocket, but Oliver prefers being mobile and unrestrained when possible. Having the borrower standing on his shoulder is slightly nerve wracking though...

The Narrator is a “retired” animal behavioral scientist. His career ended several years ago when he was terminated from his position at a prestigious lab.
Now, he lives alone in an average sized house in the country, away from the activity and noise of the city, away from judgemental stares and whispered words behind his back.
He is safe here. He doesn’t have to worry about what anyone thinks. He is quite comfortable staying right where he is - thank you very much.
A dear friend even stops by to drop off groceries for him once a week.
One week, he receives an unexpected item amongst his delivery.
I have such a hankering for a scenario where a cocky little borrower comes out after the human leaves only for the human to suddenly return. They’re about to be spotted, so they make a split decision to hide in a less than ideal location, diving into an open backpack or purse. As their luck would have it, the whole reason the human came back so soon was because they forgot their bag.
They are unknowingly scooped up and essentially trapped. If they try to escape the risk being stranded who knows how far from their home, so they stay put. When the bag finally remains still for a while the borrower peaks their head out to scope out the new location and is horrified at the sight they’re met with...
a gym.
They watch in horror as their human works out. They had always had the impression humans were slow, but clearly thats not the case. They watch the human work out, tension rising as they come to the realization of how much of a threat this human could be. They knew human were strong, but to see feats of strength relative to a human’s body?? The whole ordeal becomes increasing unnerving.
Strength, speed, agility...
The horrible realization that their size is the only thing keeping them safe, and if they are found that human could most definitely catch them.
Oliver sometimes ends up stumbling upon James after the human has had a particularly troubling day... Maybe one day James will open up to Oliver about his troubles rather than waiting until he's alone, but for now Oliver is content to quietly watch him be at peace.
