Love and trust are two things that coexist. One cannot love without trust, and trust is followed by love of any form.
For Lena both of them were strangers, her mother and brother definetly weren't the lovely type, and all of her life she felt like trust was only given to be broken right after, resulting in the fortress of walls all around her.
Even when she felt like she could trust her best friend, it turned out she was hiding being Supergirl, and everyone around them knew, leaving the CEO out of the loop.
So, even after forgiving everyone, Lena will think twice before giving her trust to anyone else.
But Lena can't control who she falls in love with.
You moved to National City a few months ago. Gotham already had Batman and all his collegues, hence why you never used your powers; besides, it was way too gloom for you, so you decided a fresh start was for the best.
You realized you were right when the first day at your new apartment you were woken up by sun rays and not by police sirens.
You soon started working with Kara as the new superhero in town.
Everyone, especially Alex, were weary of you at first, but after a while of being nothing but helpful to them and the city they started to trust you.
One day you took you mask off and revelead you identity without expecting Kara to do the same, and that particular selfless action made her fully trust you, making her want to do the same.
And that's when you became a part of the superfriends.
A couple of weeks after meeting Lena you told her who you really were, even after Alex and Kara told you it wasn't necessary since she wasn't a part of the DEO; but, your words, you didin't want to lie to a potential friend.
That day the black haired woman smiled at you in a way so soft she never thought she was able to.
- - - -
"guys! Lena's here!"
You shouted as you opened the door to Kara's apartment, making room for the CEO to enter. "sorry I'm late, i had something to finish at work first" she meant to say to everyone, but her low tone made it possible only for you to hear.
"oh don't worry we were just chatting." you reassured her, helping her remove her coat, and unkowingly leaving a blush on her cheeks at the action.
"Kara tried to eat all the appetizers, but I hid some for you." you whispered, fully aware that the kryptonian could still hear you.
You two made your way to the living room where Winn and James where playfully arguing about something, Alex was preparing the table to make room for the next game, while Kara got up to greet her best friend.
Lena soon followed after you, sitting beside you. There were other seats available but you never seemed to mind it when the black haired woman chose to seat next to you, so it soon bacame a habit.
After all, it was easier to team up against everyone else.
You weren't as competitive as Lena during games, but you had a grit she really liked, and were much more skilled than she was.
That's pretty much how you two became friends. The first two weeks she kept to herself, she was never mean to you but she also never made an effort to deepen your connection.
But the moment you revealed your identity is when she started to be more open towards you, and slowly but surely the two of you became close friends, hanging out outsides of gamenights too.
"oh food's here" Kara chimed in at the sound of the doorbell, clearly hungry; and Alex groaned, needing to clear up the table yet again.
"I'll get it" Lena announced, starting to get up, but you stopped her with a gentle hand on her exposed thigh
"no I got it"
The kryptonian silently watched the interaction from her spot on the couch with a glint in her eyes, just like she watched any other interaction between the two of you. She knew Lena better than anyone, maybe even better than she knew herself. She knew how those smiles and those light touches became more than just friendly in the last couple of months, how everytime she asked if you were okay after a mission, Lena was much more worried that she ever let on.
And kara knew you had one of the purest and most honest souls she has ever known; you were the perfect choise for her best friend.
She swore to never interfere with your business, especially since she risked rushing and forcing things.
But, as she watched Lena laugh at something you said, she thought a little help never really hurt anyone.
- - - -
After a couple of hours, only you and Lena remained in Kara's apartment, helping her clean up. Alex had gone home since she had work early in the morning and James got a tipsy Winn home.
Lena was washing the dishes while you were sorting out all the board games in the living room and Kara was collecting the trash, "oh, by the way" Kara spoke, stopping the comfortable silence created between you three "how did you get here Lena?"
"oh I just called a taxi" she went silent for a second, turning the water off "I need to call one right now or it will be late"
"or, (Y/N) could take you" the blonde suggested, picking up a beer bottle off the floor near you, nudging your leg with it.
"uh?" you inquired raising your head from the cards you were supposed to put away, not really following their conversation.
"oh no don't worry, he should take a completely different route" Lena tried to argue, but sensing what they were talking about, you interrupted her.
"you didn't come with your car?"
"no she took a cab" Kara answered for her friend.
"oh then I can take you home, it's really not a problem" Lena, who still had her hands wet just smiled, nodding her head.
- - - -
The car ride was quiet, interrupted only by some light conversations here and there and the constant music coming out from the radio. Everytime Lena was in your car you she always refused to choose the music, claiming she liked listening to your music, it definetly wasn't for your relaxed side profile and the way you gently tapped your finger on the steering wheel.
"see? faster than a taxi and definetly cheaper" you joked as you parked your car in front of her house, making the woman next to you lightly chuckle.
"thank you, (Y/N)-" she started, but furrowed her eyebrows confused when she saw you quickly getting out of the car. She followed you with her eyes and smiled when you opened the car door for her.
"After you, my lady" you smiled, adding a little bow at the end.
"always the gentleman, I see" Lena complimented getting out of the car, now face to face with you.
"I had fun tonight" and for some reason, she wasn't thinking of the others.
"yea, me too" you shifted your weight from one foot to the other, the action bringing you closer to her.
"I'll see you soon?" she asked lowly, you two were so close there was no need to talk loudly.
"yea" you replied softly, not really being able to keep the conversation going.
The scientist pulled her hands out from the pockets of her jacket and wrapped them around your neck, bringing you in for a hug, and you reciprocated by wrapping yours around her waist. She disconnected from the hug that lasted a second too long, according to her rational judgment, and resumed talking
"good night, (Y/N). Drive safely"
"good night Lena, I will"
You made sure she closed the door behind her before driving off.
- - - -
A few days later Lena was in her office, working on her computer, when she suddenly felt a wind of air moving from the balcony all the way into the the room. "hello Kara" she greeted the hero, not moving her head from the computer.
"we need help"
her voice didn't sound so alarmed but the CEO shoot up to her feet anyway, just in time to hear you shout Kara's name and see you trip on the balcony, landing in front of them on your hands and knees.
"oh my god what happened?" she rushed to you, helping you to your feet
"you brought me to Lena?" you asked, recognizing the voice.
"you didn't know?"
Kara decided to interviene, clearing the puzzle for both of you "he's fine, he got sprayed with a pepper spray by a mugger, he will heal pretty soon but I though you might have something for the pain.
Feeling calmer, Lena recollected her thoughts, nodding.
"I know to expect bullets, not this" you spoke up again, rubbing your eyes, while your other hand held your mask.
You were, however, instantly stopped by Lena's hand on yours. "don't touch it, it'll only be worse. Put your mask back on, I'll take you to my lab."
She didn't let go of you, now wrapping her fingers around your wrist and got you out of her office. You were able to see lights and shadows but a little guidance didn't hurt. And to anyone asking, and herself, Lena would justify the not so professional touch the same way.
As soon as you two reached the lab, she lead you to a chair, while she grabbed what she needed.
"I'm sorry i literally crushed into your office, I could have handled it on my own too." you said, taking off your mask, knowing you were the only two in the room.
"oh I'm happy to help" she spoke from the other side of the room "and if by handling it on your own, you mean rubbing it like you did before, then I'm very happy you came to me" she teased, and by the way her voice got louder you'd guess she was standing in front of you.
"now open your eyes, and try to keep them open" you tried doing what she said, but closed them right after with a groan.
"it'll just be a second, come on" she got closer to you, now being in between your legs, and put a hand on your forehead.
When you opened your eyes again, you saw a small bottle in her free hand. This time you closed your eyes only when a drop of the liquid touched your sclera, but Lena seemed content with it. "oh it's cold" you commented, the constract in temperature already acting as a relief.
"see? it was just a second. Open the other one now."
After doing the same to the other eye, she put the bottle aside, wiping some tears gathered on your cheecks and at the pool of your eyes, while you kept them closed for a bit more, enjoying the now cool sensation.
Even with your eyes closed you could feel the closeness, how one of her tight was touching yours and how her breath touched your skin from time to time; it took everything in you to keep your hands locked on the top of your knees, and not put them around her waist.
Everytime you were in one of these situations. you couldn't help but think that Lena was holding back from doing something. It couldn't be that she didn't know if you liked her? You think everyone around you knows, whether you told them or they just figured it out.
For a long time you thought this was just her being friendly, despite all the times Kara told you you were the only person she acted so touchy and even vulnerable with, her being aware of it ot not.
So, given she actually likes you back, it must be something else.
You don't know a lot about her past since she rarely talks about it, you only knew the basics but you definetly knew about the walls she hardly lets anyone through.
But for whatever reason she might be holding back,
"are you feeling a bit better?"
you will wait for her to be ready,
"much better, thank you" you re-opened your eyes and she was indeed very close to you.
"great, i'm glad" you swore she glaced at your lips, before straightening her back and taking a step back. "let's get back to Kara, she must be worried"
You followed her back to her office, and found Kara sitting on Lena's chair, spinning around.
"yea, worried" you teased making Lena roll her eyes.
"oh! how are you feeling?" asked the kryptonian, raising from the chair. She had a light blush on her cheeks probably due to getting caught messing around.
"better, not thanks to you" you replied, making her gasp, pointing a finger at herself
"I brought you here"
You ignored her defence, turning back to the scientist "thank you again, I'll see you around?"
At her nod you started going back to the balcony, then threw a confused look at the blonde when you noticed she wasn't following you.
"you go on ahead, I want to talk to Lena first" by the look on the woman's face, she didn't know about it either.
"okay, have fun" you smiled at the two, flying away.
- - - -
"good, you're here" Alex sighed as soon as you and Kara entered the main room of the DEO, already in your supersuit.
"what's going on Alex?" asked her sister.
"a group of aliens just escaped Metropolis' prison, last time they were out they tried getting everyone with any sort of power so they could trade them for their boss, but Superman stopped them"
"and now they're onto us" John finished
"how do you know they're not trying it again in Metropolis, or somewhere else?" Kara asked and this time Winn answered, putting pictures and a map of the city on the big screen.
"they installed a chip in every alien's suit so they could track them in case of escape. Very useful for shapeshifters and aliens who can become invisible."
"that's smart" Supergirl furrowed her brows "why don't we have that?" she turned to John, who didin't seem thrilled by the idea
"it's smart, unless they simply decide to take off their clothes."
Next to Kara, you were only half listening to the debate, a disturbing thought forming in your head "I don't care about that" you interrupted "where are they going Winn?"
"it looks like they parted ways, they're headed to-" the images switched and you instantly recognized the building.
"they're going to Lena" you felt your blood freezing in you veins "I have to go" and without another word, you were off
"Superman is containing the outbreak in Metropolis so it's up to us." Alex explained, normally she would have scolded you for going on your own before knowing the plan, but this was actually a matter of time, so she let you go.
She also knew how worried you were.
"Kara you go to CatCo, while we'll take the smaller groups, they only care about their goal, so get Cat somewhere safe and trap the aliens somewhere. Then call us, and we'll take them back to Metropolis"
And with that, Kara flew out the window, telling you the plan through your earpiece.
- - - -
"okay got it, get Lena safe, trap the aliens, move on" you repeated, removing your hand from your ear.
You broke the window on your way in, you figured she could just get it fixed, not that you were worried about that.
Lena wasn't in her office but they couldn't have gotten to her, according to Winn, they were three minutes away, and you took way less than that to get here.
You ran out of the room, getting to her lab.
You found her sitting in one of the chairs, looking at who knows what. The sound of the door opening made her raise her head, but the smile reserved just for you slowly vanished, taking in your tense stance. Even with your mask on she could read you.
"what's wrong? are you hurt?"
"follow me, there's no time" you heard Winn through the earpiece warning you "please, I'll explain later"
Your voice confermed her suspicions, and she got out of the room with you.
"we need to be quick" you grabbed her hand "we'll take the stairs"
As you run up the stairs you could hear the doors to the building breaking open and people starting to scream, making Lena slighlty jump in fear.
"don't worry, they have no interest in your employees, they just want you." you tired to reassure her, but it didn't seem to work since she stopped moving completely
"who's they? what's going on (Y/N)?"
"we have to run Lena" you pleaded almost desperately.
This really wasn't the time to talk and she didin't seem to understand, so you put a hand around her waist and the other under her knees, and started running with her in your arms.
You tried to briefly explain their intention and your plan, shielding her with your body every time you slammed a door open.
"and I'd do anything to stop it"
Kara confirmed they couldn't fly, so you just had to trap them on the roof and get Lena somewhere safe.
You only let her down when you reached the edge of the roof, and you could hear them quickly approaching.
You didn't let go of her waist yet, thinking she might get scared and fall.
"do you trust me?"
Thanks to the closeness of your bodies, she could catch a glimpse of your eyes, and she could see they were full of fondness and sincerity.
All things Lena always saw when she looked into your eyes.
She let her gaze fall to the ground, then back to you, before nodding.
"I do"
You nodded back, and Lena swore she could feel you smile.
"great" you got off the edge when the aliens broke the door "then jump when I tell you to"
You tried with all your strength to keep them from getting to her, while also trying to seal the door shut.
They weren't a lot but they were fast and agile, which made it hard for you to keep up.
As soon as you sealed the door shut you heard Lena shout your name, only to see two of them getting closer and closer to her.The distraction got you a punch in the gut, making you fall to the ground; consequencently giving them the upper hand.
Your scream came out muffled, but the woman was still able to hear it.
"jump Lena, now!"
Lena looked at the ground once again, the aliens were getting closer but the others held you down, making it impossible for you to move.
Taking another hit to the jaw, you yelled again.
"please, you have to trust me!"
And without a second thought she was in the air.
She tried looking up, waiting for you to come save her, but all she could see was the fast approaching asphalt so she closed her eyes,
Her arms came to her face, a vain attempt at protecting herself.
The next thing she knew, she was on the ground, but she was on her feet while her waist was once again held by your hands; while hers were unconsciously gripping onto your biceps for dear life.
"how did you-"
She tried to speak but her heart was still pumping in her head for the near death experience.
"I told you, they only care about you. They run up to the edge as soon as they saw you jump"
Being in a closed off parking lot, you were able to take off your mask, in an attempt to calm her down.
and it seemed to have worked, but you sensed she had something else to ask, so you spared her the effort.
"I would have never told you to jump unless I was totally sure it would work."
With a little smile, you took one of your hands off her waist to reach Alex through the earpiece.
"Alex there's six of them, they're stuck on the roof of Lena's building"
Putting your hands to rest along your side, the black haired woman almost wished you put them back on her waist.
"get home as soon as you can, it's still not safe for you out here. I have to go"
"please be safe" she whispered, nearly pleaded, her eyes focused on the bruise already forming on your jaw.
"and come back in one piece."
With a job like yours you could never promise something like that, it was a dangerous game where one false step could get you killed, and you both knew that.
But with the way she was looking at you, with her eyebrows forrowed together and her mouth slightly agape, and the way her hands moved to hold your wrists; she made you want go fight death herself and win, just to come back to her.
"I will, I promise."
- - - -
It was a few hours later, since getting back home Lena had her eyes glued to the news playing on the screen, like they always were when she knew you were on a mission.
After the boring news of a soccer player winning a title the woman couldn't be bothered to remember the name of, you and Kara finally apperead on the screen, busy escorting some aliens in a black van she presumed belonged to the DEO, as the reporter provided an upgrade on the situation.
"this imagines were of almost two hours ago, so we can safely assume all the culprits are now back in Metropolis' prison, all thanks to Supergirl and (Y/S/N)" concluded the man, and Lena turned off the tv.
She could finally feel herself relax, sitting on the couch. And although she felt a bit bad you didin't text her to tell her you were okay, she understood you were probably tired and wanted to freshen up a bit.
She also debated texting you, or calling you, but at the last second she decided not to, wanting to avoid waking you up in case you fell asleep. It wouldn't be the first time it had happened, as soon as a mission ended Kara needed to eat to regain her streght, while you prefered a good three hours minimun nap.
But not this time apparently.
As soon as she put the phone down, she heard a knock on the door. Quickly getting up to open it, already knowing who was on the other side.
"I don't know if you had dinner yet, but i'm starving" you said, holding the bag of takeout in your hand.
"hi" she replied softy, not taking her eyes off your face.
"come in" she shook her head after a while, making room for you to enter.
"uh no I didn't eat anything" she answered your question from before, watching you get settled on the couch, after hanging your coat at the entrance.
The scene alone felt so domestic that it brought a smile to the woman's face.
"what do you want to drink?" she asked, heading to the kitchen
"whatever you're having" but you were too focused on setting up the table, and Lena knew this, or you wouldn't have answered like that.
So she repeated the question. This time you registered her words "mhh I'm fine with anything, as long as it's not wine"
She smirked, whispering a "that's more like it" leaving you confused at her remark, as she went to get a bottle of wine for herself, and a bottle of soda for you.
- - - -
While eating you decided to put on a random movie, it was meant to act just as a background noise, but you were actually getting interested in it, considering there wasn't much noise coming from the woman sitting next to you.
That's because she was looking at your side profile. She tried watching the movie, but she soon found out she preferred the way the movie played on your face, with the light shining on your skin, enlightening your features.
From the tip of your nose to your cheekbones, from the lips Lena swore never looked so soft, all the way down to-
"(Y/N)"
She called, but your hum of acknowledgement didn't satisfy her.
"(Y/N), look at me" she tried again, but her tone never lost it's sweetness.
"mh?" this time you turned your head to face her, the movie long forgotten when she gently grabbed your jaw.
"the bruise" she stared, moving her fingers along the skin, trying to find it
"it disappeared"
"it healed" you whispered. And thank God you didn't want to say anything else because you lost all the air in your lungs when her eyes met yours.
"did you get hurt anywhere else?"
She moved her free hand to rest on top of the couch, letting her head lay on it. You adjusted your positions too, hoping she wouldn't pull away when the motion brought you invitably close, with her legs now trapped between your arms.
She didn't.
"nothing more than small bruises" she could feel your throat moving as you talked.
"you asked me to jump off of a building today" she informed you with a small smile, as if you didn't know.
"and without any protection"
Not catching the playfulness in her tone, you let a frown appear on your face.
"I never would have let you jump if i wasn't sure-" you tried reassuring her but she stopped you, whether it was intentional or not, when she moved her hand to the back of your neck, fingers playing with your hair.
"I know (Y/N), I know. It was my decision to trust you"
"thank you for trusting me then" it was all you could muster up at this point, not really knowing where she was going with it.
"thank you for never giving me a reason not to"
Silence fell on the two of you, the way Lena was looking at you, how her gaze flickered from your eyes to your lips; with her fingers tracing figures on your scalp and the way her bottom lip was caught between her theet made it impossible for you to think, let alone talk.
On the other side of the room, there wasn't a single part of Lena's brain that wasn't screaming at her to do something. She could feel your arms touching her thighs, and you looked at her like nothing else in the world mattered right now. And for you it didn't.
You clearly wanted this as much as she did, and she always noticed. Lena was one of the smartest people you knew, so she definitely wasn't oblivious to the way you always held yourself back when the moment got to heated, and she could tell it was for her sake.
And this fact alone tipped her over the edge. She already trusted you with her life, it was time to trust you with her heart.
The hand on the back of your neck tightened it's grip, forcing you down to meet soft lips.
Not that you were complaining.
The kiss was urgent, telling you just how much she has been wanting this.
You could taste the wine she had drunk a few hours ago and wondered if it had always tasted this good.
Her other hand came to rest on your cheek, bringing you impossibly closer.
You put your hand on her waist, thriving at the sound of surprise she let out.
The kisses got more soft and kind as they subsided, and it was Lena who made the first move, pulling away from you.
Shily smiling at the sight of you blindly following her lips.
You opened your eyes to find her already looking at you, with one of her hand coming to your chest to gently stop you.
There were a few seconds of silence between the two of you, you were fairly without words, the only thought occupying your head was the kiss you just had and Lena herself.
The scientist, once again, had so much to say and little courage to do so; strangely, the person who made her feel the safest also made her nervous as hell.
"you kissed me"
You spoke up, the hand on her waist twitching as if you didn't think it really happened.
She bursted out laughing, feeling at ease again.
"I did. And you kissed me back" she whispered
"I did" you repeated, a huge smile taking over your face. "can I do it again? can I kiss you?"
You slowly leaned back in, giving her time to pull away, and Lena can't believe it took her this long to do it.
You scooted closer to her during the kiss, and Lena moved her legs on top of yours, making it easier for you.
Your hand fiddled with the hem of her shirt, sneaking your fingers under it, You didin't want to do anything more than just kissing, at least not tonight, but it was nice feeling her skin against your fingertips.
She was once again the frst one to pull away. As much as she wanted to keep kissing you, god she couldn't get enough of your lips already, she wanted to talk to you.
"stop with the kissing now pretty boy" she said affectionately, the pet name spreading warm all the way to your chest.
It took her a moment to gather her thoughts, around the same time it took you to pay attention to her words.
"I've liked you for quite a while now" she started, and you straightened your posture, adjusting your hand to lay now on her knee "and I think I've always known that, I just couldn't find it in myself to trsut you enough for that"
You slightly nodded at her words to show you were paying attention "you can trust me on everything" you breathed out and lowered your head when you felt her playing with the button of your blouse.
"I realize that" she bit her bottom lip "you know, Kara also had a part in this" she said after a bit, changing subject.
You tilted your head, confused "she did?"
"the day you got sprayed in the eyes-" the woman let out a little laugh at your groan "Kara stayed back to give me a wingwoman sort of speech. Saying things like 'he's a good person' or 'it's clear that you like him too'" She moved her hand around, remembering her friend's words.
"I should thank her then" you answered, but made no move to reach for your phone
you got closer once again "but not right now, I have other things to do" and she accepted your lips on hers without hesitation.

My favorite ships ranked!
There's a huge chance this list will change once every two days at the very least, but let's do it!
1. SUPERCORP
Literally my favorite ship ever. They're just perfect for each other in every possible way. Their love languages complement each other perfectly, they can rely on each other, and they work together like the best team in the world. Lena needs love and Kara knows how to offer it without asking for anything in exchange. She will take whatever Lena is willing to give her and be happy about it. But Kara still needs someone that will look at her and see who she really is, no judgment, and someone who she will be comfortable being herself - Kara Zor El - with.
Speaking of fanfic, I think it’s safe to say these fandom has some very talented authors who gave us very well written works. They can also work in every possible scenario, so that's a huge bonus.
Favorite scene: "Supergirl might have saved the city, but, Kara Danvers, you're my hero."
Tumblr media
2. SHOOT
Shoot is THAT couple that should have ended up together, but didn’t. I don't hold a grudge on it, though, because Root's death made sense to the show's ongoing plot. I can't say they would be perfect like Supercorp because Shaw has some emotional problems and Root is just also in love with a artificial intelligence or whatever, but they would work. Shaw would try - for Root - and Root would love every part that Shaw allows her to see.
Favorite scene: "You can't live with me and I can't live without you."
Tumblr media
3. WAYHAUGHT
Do I even have to say anything? Our most perfect CANON couple. They were perfect from start to finish. The way Nicole absolutely adored Waverly, almost like a worship even, but wasn’t afraid to stand tall on her ideas and opinions. The way Waverly acted like Nicole hung the moon and stars in the sky just for her, and how we know she would be able to do anything to keep Nicole happy. They're that couple that make everyone's teeth rotten with how sweet they are.
Favorite scene: "You guys make The Notebook look bleak."
Tumblr media
4. CABENSON
One of my favorite gay ships, so it has a special place in my heart. In the early seasons, it's pretty clear, at least for me, that Alex and Olivia could have something going on. I believe they were both shoving it away because none of them was ready to get seriously involved with anyone and they knew that whatever they decided to have would be too special to be treated lightly. Unfortunately, time was cut short for them when Alex got pulled away for WitSec.
I do think they will forever be each other's "almost", or "what if", but they're long past that now. They changed too much and they did it separately. If they were together, they would have changed around each other and, possibly, be able to work those differences to stay together. But now I don't think they would be able to keep a relationship. It's a bit sad, but it's also a very good portrait of reality.
Favorite scene: "You like being back on court, don't you?"
Tumblr media
5. BISHOVA
I'm new to this ship, but I already love it. They remind me a lot of Shoot, actually. We just know that Yelena needs to find someone who would love her with no restrictions and that she deserves to find love. And Kate needs someone able to ground her, but also someone who allows her to be as silly as she wants, someone that will always have her back, doesn't matter how insane her plans might be. They have chemistry too. Also, I can see them getting together with no drama at all, or maybe something they can easily solve, and then being together for the rest of their lives to the point that they can't even remember a time they didn’t know each other. We didn’t get to see them that much, sadly, but I keep my hopes up for more scenes of them in the future.
Favorite scene: "You have one fork?"
Tumblr media
6. FLEURMIONE
Okay, two intelligent and beautiful women together? Sign me in! I've been in Harry Potter's fandom for many, many, years now and, after giving it too much thought, I can safely say that Fleur would be the perfect match for Hermione. She would challenge Hermione, they would have endless discussions about any and every subject, they would have enough books together to fill up a library, and they would make each other want to be better every day. I also see Fleur being a bit sarcastic and Hermione keeps rolling her eyes at her at least fifteen times a day.
Fleur is constantly curious about the muggle world, always eager to learn anything Hermione is willing to show her. She would have a great relationship with Hermione's parents, mostly because she thinks they're one of the most genius people on the planet because they know how to fix people's teeth. Meanwhile, Gabrielle would loooove to talk with Hermione, especially when they get together to embarrass Fleur.
Favorite scene: You know, the totally canon one when Fleur asked Hermione to the Yule Ball.

7. LOU MILLER X DEBBIE OCEAN
Heist wives? Yes, please.
We don't even need to pretend. These two were totally banging throughout the whole movie. The headcanon is that they used to date, then Debbie made some stupid decisions, met the wrong people, they broke up for a while and then Debbie got locked up. I believe Lou was so angry with her for both being stupid and for ruining what they had because she wanted to get more money than they actually needed, that she didn’t even visit Debbie in prison.
While there, Debbie had enough time to realize how much of an idiot she had been, so it's up to her to win Lou back. Meanwhile, Lou knows that she's screwed the second she sees Debbies smile again. She just can't help but orbit around her.
Also, they're the Moms, no doubt about that.
Favorite scene: "Baby, I don’t have a diamond yet."
Tumblr media
8. DANSEN
The only reason they’re all the way down here is because I hate CW, but I actually love them more than half of my family. They’re married, they’re moms, they’re in love, they’re perfect. Someone as caring as Kelly needed someone to make her go crazy like Alex, while Alex deserved someone that would understand her no matter what. Honestly, I just love them.
Favorite scene: THE PROPOSAL
Tumblr media
9. CAROLNAT
Is there any chance this could happen? No.
Do I still dream about it? Constantly.
It's just one of those couples where things would just work. My biggest headcanon for them is that they would be constantly laughing and having fun. Always joking and playing around with each other. Natasha would crave physical touch and Carol would be happy just to be around her at all. Carol would finally find a reason to stay on Earth without feeling guilty about it and Natasha would one thousand percent make a retirement party for her.
Also, they would protect each other so fiercely that no one would even dare to warm any of them.
Favorite scene: The one where Natasha ends up on top of Carol in the training room. Totally canon, trust me.
Tumblr media
10. GLORBIA
Might sounds crazy, but hear me out.
Barbie is literally Gloria's dream Barbie, and Gloria is the reason Barbie is alive. Once Barbie becomes human, I can totally see Gloria falling for her without even noticing it, while Barbie takes a while to realize what are those things she's feeling. I do believe Sasha would have a strong part in bringing them together. She would be the one to explain to Barbie what a crush is and what being in love should feel like, and then she would have to give her mom a gentle push to acknowledge her own feelings.
After that, fluff all the way. Gloria would be the most patient person in the world while she sees Barbie navigating human life, just happy to have whatever Barbie is comfortable giving her. Meanwhile, Barbie keeps getting surprised by how strong her feelings can be every time she even looks at Gloria.
Favorite scene: Not a scene per se. Instead, I'm bringing that Tumblr post that says "Ken only has a great day when Barbie looks at him. Gloria always has a great day when she looks at Barbie."

11. GAY BELLA
Quite literally, any lesbian ship from Twilight. My favorite one is Rosella, but Bella x Tanya is a close second. Bellice is also a very strong candidate, not to mention Bella x Kate. And, oh, did I hear someone say Bella x Irina or was it Bella x Leah? Honestly, just give me lesbian Bella and I will be happy.
12. ROJARIAS
One of the hottest couples that exist.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

How I would re-write Supergirl Season 2/3
(as some one who stopped watching after season three, and also has not rewatched the series since 2020) (reign arc and heroes of the week will remain unchanged)
So, starting off strong, at Alex and Maggie would not have gotten engaged. Season 2 finale would have been Maggie realizing she was rushing into things, Alex being all "no I love you, I know I do" and Maggie being like "there is a whole gay world for you to explore... go do it." This would lead to sadness, a bit of tears (Chyler and Floriana would be AMAZING- daytime emmy nominee worthy performance).
Rhea would reveal Kara's identity to Lena in the finale. It would be casual too, she would be like "you are much better for my son Lena, that kryptonian isn't worth her weight in dirt here. I can't believe he would settle for a lowly slave." And then Lena would be all "reporter" and Rhea would be like "Yes Kara Danver's, former slave to a, Cat Grant I believe her name is" and then Rhea would continue on her spiel and there would be a cut scene as the camera focuses on Lena taking in the information
They save the day- Monel leaves for what ever reason he had to leave- don't remember, don't care. Also, Kara and Mon-el would have never dated, he would have just pined for her and James and Winn would be all "join the club"
Season 3
Alex mourned over her first lesbian relationship over the 6 month gap between seasons, Lena hasn't told Kara she knows.
First DEO scene of Season 3 is Alex talking to Kara (and invertedly Winn and James) about her most recent date on an app. It went bad, Winn chimes in like "what was it this time" and Alex is like "she was weirdly into ___" then J'onn walks in, like "Alex I am sorry to interrupt but there are pressing matter to attend to- there is a meta human down town" (que hero of the week intro)
Lena and Kara hang out, audience find out that Lena hasn't told Kara cause Kara has to leave to deal with a alien and does the usual "uh, I hear my named being called, ugh bye" and Lena just smiles and nodds, and sighs wistfully, staring after her (supercorp shippers go crazy)
Ep 2 or three we first see Sam and Ruby in line for Noonan's or something (why did they establish that as a brand, just to immediately ditch it after season 1???) and it's just a cute simple little "Hi, I'm Alex, let me help you out" but Sam is endeared and Ruby just smiles because (I love Ruby but honestly) she didn't have that much of a personality early on in the season
That same ep we see Lena reuniting with Sam. After that, when ever Sam and Lena meet each other (I don't remember when or how) Kara and Lena are like "you two know each other" and Alex is all blushy like "yeah, Kinda, I mean, not really" and Sam is like "yeah, Lena she is the girl from the place". Sam and Lena share a look (agent reign shippers go crazy)
Sprinkles of supercorp here and there- Just Kara and Lena doing their normal friend shit but Kara being like "woah, I am feeling things maybe"
At ep 8 or so Kara is at the bar with Alex and ask her how she knew with Maggie, that she liked Maggie. And Alex is all "well, I guess I always knew I liked girls but it was always objective. Like, I would think, she is so kind and smart and beautiful and amazing, any guy would be lucky to have her. But something about Maggie just forced me to realize that I was the one feeling these things, not some guy. I don't know, something about her just made alot of things clearer. Like, I realized I was the one driving the car, not a passenger. She made me stop being so passive in my own life" and Kara is quiet the whole time. Alex then ask "why" and Kara is all "no reason". Cut to Lena at L-Corp working on something relevant to the plot (supercorp shippers go crazy) (that conversation inspires Alex to ask Sam out- they then start to date)
Next ep, Kara goes to Lena's office, and is all, "there is something I need to tell you" and Lena is all "I already know" and Kara is shocked an all "how do you know" and Lena is like "in hindsight it was obvious. *list of things that hold double meanings cause miscommunication trope*" "Lee- I would have told you earlier but I-" "It's fine, I get it. You were doing it to protect me" "protect you???" "yeah- you're supergirl". Que Kara sighing and then freaking out, Lena saying Rhea told her, Kara being pulled away by some kind of supe situation, and Lena being all "go get them supergirl"
Kara admits her feelings at the end of the episode. Lena is shocked, but agrees. They agree to go on a date, a real romantic date and not a friend one, but oops- it's ep 9 which means Kara fights reign, goes comatose and then we get angsty, driven lena being like "we gotta fix Kara"
From then on, the show goes like usual, but Alex and Sam are dating and Kara and Lena are as well. The show ends with Season 3, Alex leads Deo, Winn stays but James leaves to help in the future but it really doesn't matter because the show it over. Supercorp is canon, Alex and Sam have a daughter and everyone lives happily ever after.
Edit: forgot to say this orginally but more Cat cameos. I love that woman so much- she has to come back at least twice in season 3 and be like "I leave the city for five minutes and you let her do WHAT? Agent Scully, why on EARTH would you let your sister fight a world killer??? Have you no brains under that thick skull" or something. I just want for her to be there, see Kara and Lena together and pull out of peice of paper from her purse that says "gay" and be like "I knew when you first walked into my office. No straight women would willingly be yelled at that often" or something. Idk, she was just very deeply missed

Hands On Experience (Kara's First Job)
Based on a tumblr post - read here.
It’s been a long week for all of them, even longer since they’ve all had a chance to unwind and relax in general, much less as a group. Between their regular jobs, their vigilante shifts, and just life in general, months have passed since their last girl’s night. Fortunately, tonight is the remedy to that problem.
They’re all sitting around Lena’s living room, snacks, wine, and other spirits spread across the coffee table in front of them. Kelly, Alex, Nia, Sam, Andrea, Lena, and Kara are regaling each other with stories of their youth and the trouble they managed to get into. Hearing some of the stories from Andrea about a teenage Lena has everyone laughing and somewhat surprised. The normally straight-laced and stoic CEO was quite rebellious in her teen years. Who knew? Kara sure as hell didn’t.
As the night continues, the alcohol flows freely and the conversations ebb and flow into different topics. Kara thinks they’ve finally ventured away from the stories of their younger years and she breathes a sigh of relief. She never really did anything rebellious, she has always been more of a good girl, a rule follower. She couldn’t really get into trouble while trying to hide her identity. The two weren’t compatible.
But…not many people know about her first job. The one she got right after graduating college to pay for her first apartment in National City. It’s not something she tells many people. Especially since it came about by accident. She’s not ashamed of it, she’s just not sure how people will react to it. The times it has come out in conversations, reactions have been mixed. Plus, she sighs internally, if Alex is around, she always pushes her to tell The Story™ about the break-in. It isn’t something she likes to share.
Again, not because she is ashamed, it’s just that the way she got the job comes up and okay, that part is embarrassing. People usually laugh, tease her about it. And okay, she can see how it might be objectively funny, but she just…whatever. She’s a grown ass woman now.
Still, she doesn’t want to tell The Story™ in front of Sam, Andrea, and Lena. She already gets teased by Alex about it and she knows Sam and Andrea won’t let her live it down. And Lena, Rao. They’ve been dating for a few months now and have had sex so they’ve discussed things. Kara knows Lena was a little surprised when she brought so much knowledge to those conversations, but she’s never asked about it.
In fact, of all the people currently sitting in this room, Alex is the only one who knows The Story™. Maybe Kelly because they talk about everything, but yeah. It’s not a story anyone else in the room knows and Kara wants to keep it that way. She’s managed it for years, maybe her luck will continue.
Just as she begins to relax, thinking she has managed to dodge the story and keep her secret for another day, she hears her name. When she shakes herself from her inner dialogue, six pairs of eyes are on her.
“What?” Kara asks, looking from face to face before her eyes land on her sister. Her shoulders sink. She knows that look, that’s The Story™ look. Fuck. She is not going to be able to escape it, but she has to try. “Did I miss something?”
Alex grins, a mischievous glint in her brown eyes. “We were just talking about our first full-time jobs. Andrea was under the impression that working for CatCo is the only full-time job you’ve ever had.” She tilts her head and smirks at her now nervous sister. “I corrected her, but that story is so much better when it comes from you. Care to share, Kara?”
She sighs and drops her chin to her chest, this isn’t what she had in mind when she requested a Girl’s Night with her friends. Not even close. To be fair, she’s a little shocked Alex hasn’t somehow forced this story out before now. She is also definitely not drunk enough for this conversation either, so she makes a decision.
Kara bolts up from her seat, glass in hand. “If I am telling The Story™ I need more alcohol.” She sends pleading eyes to her girlfriend before turning to make a quick exit to the kitchen, Lena following close behind.
“Hey.” Lena’s soft voice, full of concern, breaks the silence. She walks around the island to stand next to her unusually quiet girlfriend. “Are you okay, Darling? If you want me to kick everyone out for the evening, I will. I can have Frank take everyone home.” She smoothes the now prominent crinkle between the blonde’s eyes, waiting for a response.
“No, it’s fine. This was bound to come up in conversation eventually. Honestly, I just hoped it wouldn’t be tonight.” She lets out a long sigh before burying her head into Lena’s neck, breathing in her comforting lavender scent.
Lena wraps her arms around her favorite person, placing a soft kiss to her temple before pulling her close. “You know, I always assumed CatCo was your first job too. We’ve never really talked about it.” She feels Kara pull away with a slight grimace on her face. Their eyes meet and Lena raises a brow at the Kryptonian.
Kara shrugs. “It’s what most people assume. I just don’t correct them.” She chuckles as she pulls the Aldebaran rum from the cabinet and pours a very full glass. Taking a big gulp, she winces at the slow burn moving down her throat. “I suppose I should get this over with, huh? Let everyone get their laughter and teasing quota in for the evening.”
Green eyes watch her curiously, taking in this peculiar behavior from the blonde. She’s seen Kara wary of things, but she’s not sure she’s ever seen her like this. It isn’t apprehension, it seems to be more like resignation, but she’s not sure what to make of it.
“Kara, you don’t have to tell anyone anything. If this makes you uncomfortable, we can put a stop to it. Just say the word.” Lena says, a fiery determination on her face.
A warm bubble of affection bursts in Kara’s chest before genuine laughter escapes her mouth. She smiles and kisses the dark-haired woman right on the enticing pout in front of her. “No, no. It’s fine. It’s an objectively funny story, just a little embarrassing. Besides, I’m also curious as to how you will react.” She waggles her brows and places one more soft kiss to Lena’s lips before dragging them both back to the rest of their friends.
The blonde takes a deep breath and reclaims her seat on the couch, Lena’s warm presence next to her and the warmth of the alien liquor in her system finally giving her the courage to expose her current biggest secret.
“My first job was at a sex shop called Cherry Poppins Toys & Trinkets.” She pauses for what she knows will be gasps of disbelief, glancing around the room at the faces of some of her closest friends. True to her assumptions, most of the eyes staring back at her are wide and disbelieving. The only exceptions are Alex, Kelly, and surprisingly, Nia.
Nia tilts her head to the side and takes a sip of her drink before she leans forward, a knowing smile on her face. “Well, there are several things that make a lot more sense now.” The brunette giggles. “When I came to you about that article I wrote a couple of years ago about spicing up things in the bedroom, you knew way more than I expected you to. Now I know why!”
Kara sighs in exasperation. “I’m not nearly as innocent as everyone seems to think I am!” She scoffs, cutting her eyes at her sister in anticipation of what’s coming.
Alex lets out a really loud guffaw, her laughter jostling Kelly and making the rest of the group snap their eyes toward the redhead. “Oh Kara…my dear sweet sister. We all know you aren’t so innocent now, especially since dating Lena, I’m sure.” She smirks at the raven haired woman next to her, chuckling at the middle finger flipped in her direction. “But, please enlighten our friends on how you got that job.” She sips her scotch before leaning back into the cushion, snuggling into her wife’s side.
If looks could kill, Alex would be dead. She’s sure of it. The look she’s getting from Kara is filled with malice and daggers. She just smiles and winks at the blonde. Her mind is at peace, watching Lena absorb this story is worth every bit of ire from her sister. So, she relaxes and waits. Her part of the story will be here soon enough.
After looking around the room at her friends one more time and get a reassuring squeeze from her girlfriend, Kara begins her tale:
“I was looking online for jobs. I had just graduated from NCU and gotten my first apartment. At that point, I was applying for almost anything because I just needed something to pay rent. I came across this ad for retail sales at Cherry Poppins Toys & Trinkets and thought, why not? How hard can it be to sell toys and trinkets?”
She pauses her story to take a drink of liquid courage, noticing the half smirk on her girlfriend’s face. Shaking her head, she continues:
“A few days later, I got a call from the manager of the store to come in for an interview. The instructions were to go to the back door of the building so I didn’t know what kind of things were being sold until later. I genuinely thought it was toys and trinkets…you know, like a Schwartz toy store.”
The uproarious laughter at that statement yanked her out of her story and she covered her face with a grumble. Lifting her face, she glares at her sister before turning to the rest of the group. “Look, if you guys want the rest of the story, you’re going to have to stop interrupting me. This is serious!” She harumphs and crosses her arms, making the group laugh even harder.  She rolls her eyes and sits silently, waiting.
“Okay, okay. Settle down, let her finish.” Sam chimes in, wiping the tears of laughter from her face before settling back in next to Andrea. The couple share a soft smile before returning their attention to Kara.
“Are you sure you’re done?” She flicks her eyes between everyone before dropping them back onto her hands actively twisting in her lap. “Anyway, I went in for the interview…”
“I opened the back door and stepped inside to what seemed to be a storeroom. It looked pretty normal. Boxes, shelves, labels, nothing to indicate anything outside of the toy store I imagined. The manager, John, came out to greet me and took me into his office for the interview.
Now, what happens next was a little odd to me at the time and looking back it was obvious, but I was 21 and still not used to Earth’s customs so I just rolled with it. John brought out this…apparatus that was a very lifelike replica of a bare bottom.”
Kara growls as another round of belly laughs interrupts her telling of The Story™. This time she doesn’t say anything. She sits, silently waiting for the laughter to subside. Once it is quiet again, she makes eye contact with each of them trying to convey her frustration.
“Alright. Let’s get ourselves together and listen.” Lena clears her throat, quickly wiping away her own tears of laughter before she continues. “Go ahead, Darling. Finish your story, we’ll do our best not to interrupt you again.” Green eyes glare at the rest of the group before gently squeezing Kara’s leg in encouragement.
She sighs, throws her head back and stares at the ceiling before finally continuing, hopefully finishing this time.
“John had me…spank the bare bottom several times. I wasn’t sure what he was looking for at first, but later he told me that I kept my composure better than anyone else before me. I realize now it was because people probably laugh their asses off. For me it was pretty confusing because I assumed it was for some lifelike doll…which, looking back, I suppose it was.”
She laughs at her younger self. In hindsight, this story is pretty damn funny. If it were one of her friends, she’d probably be laughing hysterically as well. This line of thought seems to release something inside her and she smiles. The rest of the story should be easy.
“At this point, I still didn’t realize that it was a sex shop. I hadn’t seen the store and nothing about the storeroom indicated otherwise. Granted, I should have realized that spanking a prosthetic ass was a dead giveaway, but I’m an alien for Rao’s sake. I’d never seen anything like that in my entire life!
So, you can imagine, on my first day when I walked into the store, I was shocked. It was wall-to-wall dicks, vibrators, and all sorts of contraptions I didn’t know existed. Most of the day was spent with some shade of rosy embarrassment from head to toe. As much as I wanted to turn tail and run right out of there, I needed the job so I stuck it out. I learned a lot about sex and people in those two years I worked there.”
She grins at her friends, pausing briefly to wink at Lena. “Now, the really crazy part of my time working there happens about six months before I started working at CatCo…” Kara briefly glances at Alex before continuing her story.
“It was a Friday morning. We didn’t typically open until noon because the weekends were our busiest days with the latest hours. By this time, I was the assistant manager at the store so it wasn’t uncommon for me to open the store or close up at night. John and I had become friends at this point too so work was actually a lot of fun. Anyway, he had to drive up to our distribution center to sort out a shipment that had gotten delayed and left me in charge.
Since we opened at noon, I would usually get there around 10:45 to get things ready. However, on this particular day, one of our alarms was triggered. I got a call from the security company that an internal motion sensor was activated. It was shocking because we had very good security and had never had an issue. After telling them to call the police, I headed to the store.
Now, in order to understand the story, I need to tell you the layout of the store. Upstairs was where most of the really risque, more fetish and BDSM stuff was kept. No one was allowed up there without a member of the staff accompanying them. The bottom floor was where most customers stayed.
The layout of the first floor consisted of five zones. Imagine it from left to right. Zone 1 was all the porn DVD’s. Zone 2 was all of our lower end sex toys, all the more tame offerings in the lower price ranges. Zone 3 was the higher end sex toys and more…advanced offerings. It was where the realistic asses were kept.”
She smiles and looks around at her friends, once again winking at her girlfriend. They are all grinning and seem to be amused by her story. Taking a sip of her rum, she sits her glass down, presses a soft kiss to Lena’s cheek and keeps going.
“Zone 4 was the checkout where we spent most of our shift. And finally, Zone 5 was all the wearables - we called it the ‘lingerie, leather, and lace’ section. Each section had a camera directly focused on it as well as various other cameras throughout the store. There were motion sensors that were active when the store was armed and alarms on all the doors. Another bonus is that we weren’t far from one of the local police precincts.
To say that John and I were shocked about the break-in is an understatement. In the 18 months I had been there, we hadn’t had any issues and John said he’d never had any in the 3 years he’d been there before me. This thief was very savvy. They broke one of the windows on the lower level close to the lower end toys in Zone 2. For some reason, the alarms were only set to go off if the upper windows were breached and not these.
When the thief got in, they pretty much had the run of the store as long as they stayed clear of the motion sensors. Based on what I saw when I got there to meet the cops, the thief was initially after the DVD’s. Unfortunately for them, we keep the discs in a locked cabinet behind the checkout so the cases on the display are all empty.”
Kara chuckles and glances over at Alex, both of them have an amused twinkle in their eyes. She smiles at her sister and proceeds.
“The crook was clever, they were wearing a full bodysuit to cover their face and all their skin so their identity was well masked. When we watched the security footage back, it was evident that when the thief couldn’t get the DVD’s they decided to randomly grab whatever they could. However, instead of going for the high end toys and wearables, the sports car equivalent of goods for sexual pleasure, they stuffed as many of the cheapest, flimsiest dildos, foulest bottles of lube, and random edible things into their backpack. They did all that without triggering any alarms too. It wasn’t until they were climbing out of the broken window that they nicked one of the motion sensors on some of the more expensive products and kicked off the alarms.
Once that alarm was triggered, I got the phone call and dispatched the police. By the time I got to the store, the woman my sister was dating at the time, who was a detective at the precinct up the street, was there waiting for me. Maggie and I were working through what was taken and documenting all the goods stolen. I still laugh about how many times Maggie had to write the words dildo, edible underwear, and lube in that report.
What I didn’t know at the time was Maggie texted Alex to let her know the store had been broken into and Alex was making her way there to check on me. Maggie and I had been there for about 30 minutes before we heard a commotion outside the door.”
She grins widely and nods her head at Alex, giving her permission to take over the telling of the story.
“I love telling this part of the story.” Alex beams, placing her empty tumbler on the table in front of her and leaning forward on the couch. The redhead claps her hands together as she dives into her part of the story.
“I parked at a restaurant a block or so away. We went there a lot so I knew the owner and I figured we could grab some lunch once everything was squared away. As I was walking toward the scene, I saw this guy running toward me like a madman. There are things flying out of his backpack and he seems like he’s running from something. I pause for a minute and step to the side, not wanting to get taken out by the guy.
That’s when I realized he was leaving a trail of dildos, lube, and edible underwear in his wake. It was like a tsunami of cheap sex aids covering the sidewalk around us. I had already grabbed my badge so I just called out for him to stop and flashed it up at him. Within seconds, the guy was on his knees in front of me, his palms up and sobbing out ‘It was MeEeEnnE!!! I stole the diLDoS!!!’”
The entire room erupts into laughter. There isn’t a dry eye in the entire place. It’s how this story always ends…lots of laughter and disbelief. When it all eventually dies down, Kara notices that Lena has gotten very quiet and she has a contemplative look on her face. Her plump bottom lip is trapped between her pristine white teeth and there is a faraway look in her malachite eyes.
Nia is the first to speak, pulling them all out of their brief silence. “Okay, I can’t believe you didn’t tell us that you worked at a sex shop before, Kara. This is pertinent information that you’ve been holding back!” She scoffs at her friend. “Also, that was the dumbest thief I’ve ever heard of. He took all the cheapest shit you had instead of the good shit. And…there’s a 24 hour coffee shop right next door to Cherry Poppins! He could have stayed there until the coast was clear and made off with his stash. What. An. Idiot.”
“Seriously! That’s where Drea and I usually go after our Poppins shopping trips.” Sam chimes in, shaking her head in disbelief before catching what she just revealed. She quickly clears her throat and changes the subject. “You’ve been holding out, Kara. You could have given us recommendations! You probably know more about this stuff than Lena does.” She smirks at her friend before looking at Andrea with a wink.
Andrea grins. “Yeah, Lena has been our go-to all this time and you’re the actual hidden expert sitting right in front of us.” The brunette looks over to her childhood friend and laughs. She nudges Sam and whispers, “She’s having some thoughts right now, connecting some things.”
They both giggle and watch as Lena’s hand drifts up to her still captured bottom lip, brushing lightly back and forth against the soft skin. Her green eyes are still glassy and staring past the room currently occupied. Right as they are about to say something, Lena speaks.
“So, this whole time, you’ve been holding out on me?!” Lena’s voice comes out far more breathy and deeper than she wanted. Her eyes suddenly focus intently on Kara’s. “Wait! This makes so much more sense now. This is why you know so much about the…”
“NO!!!” Alex screeches. “Do. Not. Finish. That. Sentence. Lena. Luthor.” She points a menacing finger in the direction of her friend, her sister’s girlfriend.
The rest of the room laughs, but all of them notice the look of wanton desire on the CEO’s face, the way she is not so subtly devouring Kara with her eyes. It slowly becomes evident that they need to get out of this apartment before they see something they can’t ever forget.
Lena slowly moves her gaze from Kara over to Alex before a devilish smirk plays across her lips. “Then I suggest you say your goodbyes, Agent Danvers.” She languidly licks her lips and lets her eyes track down Kara’s body again before looking back at the rest of their friends. “All of you should probably call it a night. I have some things to talk to my girlfriend about and we don’t need an audience.”
She pauses for a moment, quirks her brow, and looks directly into cerulean eyes with a smirk. “Unless you’re into that? Seems there’s quite a few things I don’t know about you…yet.”
“Yep, Yes! Okay.” Alex says, bolting up from the couch. “I think it’s definitely time to go.” She grabs Kelly’s hand to pull her off the couch and is quickly followed by Nia. The three of them grab their belongings and dash toward the door.
“Just leave everything, we will clean up tomorrow. Frank is waiting downstairs to see you home.” Lena smiles, her eyes drifting over to the remaining two people occupying the adjacent oversized chair. “That’s your queue to make your way down to the guest apartment. Don’t worry, the penthouse is sound proof so you won’t hear anything.”
Andrea and Sam both laugh. Having known Lena the longest, they are familiar with her antics. They both roll their eyes as they stand and gather their things to head to the floor below and the apartment they are staying in while visiting National City.
“I would say have fun tonight, but I don’t think that’ll be an issue.” Sam winks, pulling her girlfriend toward the door. “We’ll see you guys for brunch tomorrow.”
As the door closes behind them, Lena turns and straddles Kara’s lap. As her lips hover just above the blonde’s, she rubs her nose against her girlfriends and takes a deep breath. “I think we have some things to discuss, Miss Danvers.” Kara grins and lifts them from the couch, drifting toward the bedroom. “You’ve certainly been holding out on me and surely you have things to show me.”
And that’s how Lena found out Kara once worked at Cherry Poppins Toys & Trinkets.

“Miss Luthor, Miss Y/L/N is here from the Daily Planet for the interview.” You hear Lena Luthor’s assistant on the phone, and look back at your hands clenching into your purse.
You never got nervous interviewing before. But now, you came to National City to talk to Lena Luthor and try to get something out of her brother’s latest jailbreak. You are aware that the chances of Lena actually telling you anything about Lex are pretty slim. But there’s nothing you can do about it. If they sent you all the way from Metropolis to get a quote from her, you might as well work for it.
It’s not that you’re scared of her. No, that would be absurd. Yes, her brother is a borderline maniac and even though he is just a man he is a worthy opponent for Superman himself, so his mind is both amazing and bizarre. And yes, you’ve heard all Luthors have the same brain. But you’re not scared. No. You just think you should be careful with your approach.
“You can go in, Miss Y/L/N.” Her assistant signals for you to follow her, and takes you to Lena’s office. “Please.” She gestures for you to walk inside.
“Thank you.” You nod at her while she closes the door. You look to the other side of the big, fancy office to find the person you’re looking for. “Miss Luthor.”
“Hello, Miss Y/L/N.” Lena points to the chair before her desk. And you promptly make your way there. “Haven’t heard from the Daily Planet in a while.”
“Oh, yeah.” You smile, swallowing your insecurities while you’re in front of her. The fact that she was beautiful you already knew, but holy damn, you were not prepared for this gorgeous woman in front of you. You must look like a total loser while you stare at her at a loss for words. “I bet you only hear from CatCo now.”
She smiles, agreeing. CatCo is a pain in the ass of the Daily Planet. Actually, that’s not true. CatCo is a pain in your ass. Or rather one reporter named Kara Danvers. You push your reservations against CatCo and Kara aside, coming back to what it matters.
“I’m glad you said yes to sitting down with the Daily Planet today, Miss Luthor. We’ve lost touch now that you moved to National City. But you’re always out doing interesting things.” You try to butter her up a little to see if she’ll be more inclined to give you the information. “And rebranding Luthor Corp! That’s worth publishing about.”
“Oh.” Lena furrows her brows. She looks directly at your eyes, narrowing hers, clearly confused with your approach. “If you are actually here to talk about L Corp, I’d love to chat. But,” She raises her eyebrow at you and you know exactly what is coming next. “If you're here to ask about Lex, then I’m sorry but we have nothing to talk about.”
You give her a patient smile. “I’m here to hear about you, Miss Luthor.” Liar. Liar. Pants on fire. “Of course Lex’s name might come up since you took over his company, but I don’t think there’s anything more interesting than you.”
It’s a lie, but it also isn’t. You, as a person, are super interested in Lena. The Daily Planet, however…
The interview went well. As well as it could go with Lena purposely dodging all the questions about Lex, and you trying to be sneaky enough and get a quote on something about him. In the end you got a shabby quote about how she has no idea what he’s been up to, because she has much to do to recover the company since he left it in a horrible state.
There were far more important things to talk about, and her mind is just as amazing as his for what you could see, but you did what you could in your limited time with her.
“Well, it was great to talk to you, Miss Luthor.” You stand up, showing her your hand. Lena looks at it with a smirk before taking into hers, and shaking it strongly.
“Hope I was worth the commute.” She tries to be funny, but it comes out a little flirty. With the eyebrow raised, the raspy tone both followed by a little smirk, you have a really hard time making your brain function properly. But that’s insane, Lena Luthor wouldn’t flirt with a simple reporter such as you.
“National City has its charms.” You smile, clearly talking about something other than National City. Because, honestly, this city has got nothing on Metropolis. Maybe the Super. You love Superman, obviously, but Supergirl is just as powerful and also a snack. "I guess I can see why it was appealing to some people."
“I hope you’re sticking around longer, there is much to see here.” She adds, and you furrow your brows confused to what she might be talking about. There’s literally nothing to see in National City.
“Really? And here I was thinking nothing could beat this view." Your mind finally catches up to your brain when you realize you've been staring at her directly while saying that. "I mean, we're so high up." You point to the windows behind her.
Lena Luthor is a professional so she obviously wouldn't laugh right at your face, but she totally could after this. Ugh.
Instead, she smiles with a little nod. She rounds the table taking you to her office door, clearly telling you it’s time for you to leave without being indelicate.
“I hope to see you around, Miss Y/L/N.”
“She has given us nothing.” You hear on the phone, and breathe deep, knowing this would be the reaction from your editor.
“She doesn’t trust me. You know how hard it is to approach Luthors, especially in a situation like this. Just let me go back to Metropolis and help Clark with the investigation about Lex.”
“Clark doesn’t need any help, and we need at least a serious quote from someone in the family. Lena is our safest bet.” You can hear him shuffling with some papers. “Clark told me his cousin works for CatCo and she’ll be happy to help. She and Lena have a good relationship you can exploit. Look for her, her name is Kara Danvers.”
“What?”
“Kara Danvers.” He repeats as if you hadn’t heard him. “You can come back when you give me an actual quote I can use.” He hangs up right after.
UGH! You throw your phone in the hotel bed, pissed. Not only you have to stay in National City for God only knows how long, now you also have to work with Kara fucking Danvers? This is your worst nightmare.
You open your laptop, looking her up on Google. It isn’t the first time you’ve done this and it probably won’t be the last. You can’t believe you have yet to read her piece that won the award. The award that was supposed to be yours. It was so close, you were sure you were going to win, then Kara swooped in at the last second and took it from you. She must be a real dick. You can’t believe she is Clark’s cousin. He’s so nice and she is… ugh. Just the worst.
You don’t want to know if her article was actually better than yours. So you close your laptop, and throw yourself back in bed, looking at the hotel walls and imagining different ways you can be passive-aggressive with Kara Danvers.
Yet, you swallow your pride and make your way to CatCo first thing in the morning. You might not want to work with Kara, but you do want to go back home, and if this is the only way, then so be it.
“Hi, I’m Y/N from the Daily Planet. I was told to look for Kara Danvers. We are going to be working together.” You give the brunette in front of you your best fake smile. Even though she looks adorable and worth much more than that.
“Oh, that’s so cool. I’m Nia Nal. Come on, I’ll take you to her desk.” You follow her, heart beating fast in anticipation, you’re about to meet the woman that took your best chance to have a better career.
“Kara, this is Y/N from the Daily Planet.” You stop behind Nia, looking at Kara and her button up shirt and stupid cardigan. She adjusts her glasses while looking at you. You can’t believe you lost your prize to this fucking nerd.
“Hi,” She stands up, showing you her hand. “I’m Kara. It’s nice to meet you. My cousin Clark texted me you’re coming. Hopefully I’ll be able to help you.”
Yeah, right. You hold her hand, forcing a smile. “I’m sure you will.”
Nia excuses herself, and Kara shows you to a desk in front of her where you can set up your things. “So, what brings the Daily Planet to National City?”
“Lex Luthor.” Kara’s eyebrows are pinched together when she hears his name. “His latest jailbreak.”
“Oh.” She adjusts her glasses on her face one more time, then smooths her hand over her stupid cardigan.
“You look surprised, Danvers.” You smirk, glad to know something the prize-awardee doesn’t seem to know.
“No, no.” But she clearly is still processing the information. “I’m just confused as to why you’re here. Wasn’t he in a Metropolis jail? Seems you’d get more information there.”
“Clark is looking into it.” You breathe out. “We had to look for other sources.”
She immediately puts two and two together. “Lena.” It’s merely a whisper, but you can hear her just fine.
“She agreed to an interview, but obviously wouldn’t talk about Lex.” You raise an eyebrow at her. “With me, at least.”
"She's nothing like her brother. I thought the Daily Planet would’ve figured that out by now.” Kara crosses her arms, defensively. Looking like she won’t want to help you. Which you can’t really blame her, but still can hate her for it.
“Of course I know that.” You don’t know it for sure, but your intuition tells you so. You were only with Lena for 20 minutes, but you already know she is different from all the other Luthors. “But we have nothing on him. Even Superman is worried. I know Lena is trying to reverse her brother’s evil schemes, and moving to National City was an excellent idea, because people in Metropolis hate the Luthor name even more than they do here. But still, Danvers, if she has anything on her brother, it would help a lot.”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it.” Kara looks back on her phone, and you dare a glance at it. She is texting Clark.
Kara: What's up with Y/N?
Clark: Best reporter I know. Great at finding people's secrets.
You smile at the compliment. Even Clark knows you're a better reporter than prize-awardee over here. You stop looking at her phone and focus back on her face. She gives an annoyed sigh, clearly not wanting to help, but finding it impossible to say no.
Come on, Kara Danvers. She owes you one.
“Look, I get it. You don’t want to help. Trust me, if I could, I wouldn’t be here either. But I need a quote from Lena to leave, and God, I really want to leave.” You show her your hand. “You help me, and I get out of your hair as soon as possible.”
“I can try, but I don’t think Lena knows anything.”
“Well, that's an easy fix, isn't it? We're reporters, we just need to find something for her to learn. What do you say, Danvers?” You show her your hand one more time. “Your name can be the first one in the byline.”
Kara rolls her eyes, but shakes your hand in agreement. This fucking nerd. You can’t believe you came all the way from Metropolis to interview a Luthor and were paired up with the only reporter you cannot stand. Honestly, when did your career get so side-tracked?

Can I request a Morpheus and reader where the reader is krypton like supergirl and he doesn’t know until I show him and we are dating and I risk my life to save him from people who wants to kill him
Thank you 😊
With Power Comes Misunderstandings
(Morpheus x Female Reader)
Synopsis: When Morpheus is late for your date, the only explanation is that someone's tried to harm him because of you—Supergirl's and Lena Luthor's daughter. After all, why else would they want your completely normal, powerless boyfriend?
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1623
A/N: Thanks you so much for sending this request in! And thank you for being so patient with me! This one kind of stumped me for a long time, but I think I figured out a way to write it that, hopefully, does your idea justice. It's slightly different, maybe a little lighter than the original idea, but I really played on the "doesn't know you have powers" bit. I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He had your full attention, he always did.
For all the sounds you could hear and how far you could see, everything in you focused on Morpheus.
He had this calmness that soothed your soul. He held himself with such confidence and clarity, and you desperately needed that.
Your life was hectic to say the least.
Being the child of Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor was one thing. But having powers like both of your mothers was something else entirely. You were born with Supergirl’s speed and senses, and the Walsh affinity for magic.
However, they both wished for you to grow up as human-like as you could. You went to school, college, got a job, and when you were old enough, they started training you.
You were disappointed when you discovered heat vision and freeze breath weren’t in your arsenal of powers. But, it turned out, they translated into your magic.
Fire and water were at your disposal. Two sides of the same coin—the light and the dark. Much like your parents’ families.
They told you stories, you watched and read the news—you knew their history. But one of the things they always taught you was that your story was your own. They embodied it in everything they did. Even in their names: Kara Danvers-Walsh and Lena Walsh-Danvers.
It was why you never felt the need to keep secrets from them. You also never forgot that if anyone could sus them out, it was your mothers.
When you initially told them you were seeing someone, you asked them to respect your privacy and to not go digging. Though, you doubted that they would find anything. It’s not like Morpheus had an Instagram—any social media for that matter. You didn’t mind that, though. He wasn’t attached to this modern-day vanity. He didn’t live his life for an audience, he did it for himself.
Glancing at your watch, you wondered just where your other half was.
Today, you were finally going to introduce your parents to Morpheus. You could already hear Kara asking how you two met, itching to get confirmation of the meet-cute she had already imagined.
It was kind of cliché.
You were walking your dog, she caught a whiff of a hot dog cart and bolted, and Morpheus grabbed her leash just before she could snatch one from the cart owner’s fingers.
You had thanked him profusely, that twinge of irritation ringing because you couldn’t use your speed in public.
Morpheus was gorgeous. And you may or may not have given your pup extra treats for inadvertedly introducing you two.
Again, you checked your watch, tugging on the simple stud in your ear. Your magic thrummed within them, the spell to conceal said magic always on you. Your parents recommended the idea early on, a protective measure. It kept you hidden from anyone who could sense your power.
You sighed. It wasn’t like Morpheus to be late. If anything, he was always perfectly on time, appearing the second the clock turned.
Your stomach churned, and there was a prickling underneath your skin.
Something was wrong.
You clutched the necklace Morpheus had given you a few weeks ago. It had been a true surprise—not a birthday gift or a silly monthaversary token. He’d given it to you out of the blue, and said when he saw it, he thought of you.
A ruby, no bigger than your pinky fingernail, hung from a delicate gold chain. It was the most recent possession you had of his at the moment, but thankfully, it should hold enough meaning between the two of you to lead you to him.
You muttered a few words, imbuing it with your magic, and instantly, it cooled against your chest.
Too far.
The chain warmed along your left side, pulling you in that direction.
You ran when you could, slowing when too many people were around.
The necklace lost its warmth in front of a rundown barn five miles south of the city. Everything about it screamed “Do Not Enter.” Smashed-in windows, chipped paint, overgrown foliage—trees creating a shroud, its very own darkness.
You exhaled shakily. Morpheus was inside. And the only reason you could come up with was that someone found out about you. Someone needed to get you away from your family with enough leverage to make you come alone. And they chose Morpheus. The man your parents knew of, but not who he was. You weren’t sure if it was sheer luck or pure coincidence.
You kept him hidden too long, and now look what’s happened.
You should’ve been more careful. People were always trying to hurt your parents, hurt you, but you were all strong. Morpheus was innocent in all of this, and you were going to make sure whatever asshole took him would be sent straight to prison.
It was that thought that made you kick in the door, charging into something you never expected.
“Morpheus?”
He stood as he always did, calm and collected—unbothered even—with five men unconscious at his feet.
His head tilted almost imperceptively. “Darling?”
“What happened?” you asked, spotting the chalk-drawn runes.
Walking along the circle, you recognized most of them. Entrapment, weakening, barriers, and one that you’d never seen. You were so wrapped up in deciphering it that you hadn’t realized he never answered you.
“Morpheus?” You furrowed your brow, and he avoided your gaze.
“I must confess an error.” He spoke softly, almost...ashamed?
You slowly stepped closer. “What are you talking about? Are you alright?”
That seemed to make his shoulders drop more.
“I am unharmed, but I fear my misjudgement will...effect us.”
“You can tell me anything,” you urged, fingers brushing his forearm.
“I—” He stopped himself, eyes pleading with you. “I have not been truthful, and it has endangered you.” He glanced to the men. “They wanted to use you to manipulate me.”
Your features pinched. Why on Earth would they want to control Morpheus? And why did he think these people were after him and not you?
You shook your head. “This isn’t your fault. They wanted me.”
You moved to the runes again, missing the confusion passing over his face.
“These are symbols meant to draw in magic. They wanted to trap someone here.” You stopped at the one you couldn’t place. “I’m not sure what they were doing with this one, though.”
“They made a mistake. It means nothing.”
You scanned it.
He was right. It was almost like the men smashed two runes together. It was completely useless.
...But how did Morpheus know that?
The question was on the tip of your tongue when he interupted.
“I am Morpheus, Dream of the Endless.”
You blinked. “What?”
He stepped toward you, slowly, as if afraid you’d run from him.
“I am not human...am I to think the same for you?” His eyes lit trails over your body even in his investigation.
You nodded, everything piecing its way together.
“So, wait. You’re saying that you were the target, and that they wanted me as bait?” you asked. It wasn’t anything completely new. Your mothers had security all over you until you came into your power. “How did you get to them before they got to me?”
“Their dreams. One fell asleep here and showed me what they wished to do,” he said, head down.
His fingers slipped into your hand, a point of connection he seemed to need.
“My deepest apologies, dear one.”
Your brow furrowed. “Why are you apologizing?”
His thumb grazed over the back of your hand. “I was late for our meeting.”
Your smile started small, then grew until you were giggling. His eyebrows twitched, but the uptick of his lips was all you saw before you threw your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.
His hands settled at your waist as he returned it.
“That’s what you’re worried about,” you mumbled into his lips. “I think—” kiss “—I can—” kiss “—forgive you.”
He cupped your cheeks, gliding his nose against yours.
“How very generous.”
The last bit of your giggling escaped, gripping his coat.
“You have not told me who you are,” he said, eyes locked.
You hummed, then gave him one last kiss. “I think it’s best if you get everything all at once.”
Gripping his hand, you were about to walk out of the barn when his firm hold stopped you.
“I believe I have a faster way.”
---
“Wait. So, you thought he was the bait for you, and he thought you were the bait for him?” Aunt Alex asked, waving her fork between you and Morpheus.
You nodded. “I think he was more surprised than me.”
He gazed at you fondly. “I have never been more pleased to learn a secret that had been kept from me.”
“Oh?” Lena asked. “Why’s that?”
“She is protected even if I can not come to her aid.”
Kare “awwed” as she brought in two pans of food with Aunt Kelly carrying a large bowl.
You rolled your eyes, fighting a smile.
“Trust me,” Kelly started. “Even if she wasn’t powered, she has an entire legion behind her.”
Morpheus gripped your hand beneath the table. You glanced to him, then caught Kara’s eyes, a knowing look as she turned to your boyfriend. Your cheeks warmed when you realized she wasn’t wearing her glasses.
“We’ll have to introduce you to everyone one day,” Kara said. “Since we’ll be seeing more of you.”
Your jaw relaxed as you caught it just before it opened. She wasn’t wrong, but you didn’t think she’d be so bold.
Morpheus gave your hand a light squeeze. “It would be an honor.”

Lena pulled her sleek coat a little tighter around herself as she stepped out of her black car and into the bustling street as a sharp chill ran down her spine. She’d already started to notice the telltale signs she was starting to come down with something earlier in the week and truthfully Lena knew she probably should’ve slowed down a little to rest but not only had she been thoroughly swamped with work, her excitement for today’s date with Kara had kept her going.
She muffled a raspy cough into her elbow as she navigated down the streets toward
the cosy secluded restaurant where she and Kara had planned to meet. But Lena's steps were slower than usual, and she couldn't shake the feeling of fatigue settling in. Yet as she entered the warm ambiance of the restaurant and spotted Kara sitting at a corner table, she was helpless to fight back the bright smile forming on her face.
Kara looked up from the menu and her eyes immediately softened at the sight of Lena approaching the table, "Hi darling," she greeted her warmly but concern flickered across in her gaze when she noticed the unnaturally crimson flush sitting on Lena’s cheeks. "You okay?"
Lena managed a small nod, attempting to push through the weariness. "A little under the weather. I’m okay, don’t worry.” She stammered as Kara stood up to pull out her chair, thanking her kindly, “Just a little peaky.”
Truthfully Lena surprised herself a little with her own honesty but Kara always had a way of making her feel so safe in her presence that she couldn’t help but give in.
Kara’s infamous crinkle formed in her brow as she pouted a little, “We could’ve cancelled, I would’ve understood!” She exclaimed, a little too loudly causing some to glance over in their direction, “Look, I just don’t want you forcing yourself to be here if you’re not up to it. We can get dinner at a later time whenever you’re feeling better.”
“No, no. Please,” Lena began, “I want to be here Kara, I’ve been looking forward to seeing you all week, please.” She mirrored Kara’s same pout and the blonde was helpless to do anything except cave in. After-all, how could she deny that face?
Throughout their dinner the poor Luthor looked as if she was fighting to stay awake. Despite wanting to seem aware and engaged, her eyes keep dropping closed, as her dizzy head continually bobbed forwards.
Luckily their meal didn’t take long to arrive and the two delved into their food, Kara excitedly shoving the large pizza she’d order in her mouth. But as they shared their food, a little itch at the back of her sinuses caught Lena’s attention. She tried to ignore it, wanting to keep focused on their conversation. The CEO subtly rubbed her finger beneath her nose in an attempt to chase the tickle away, but ultimately she had no such luck. It only seemed to make things worse and she barely reached for a napkin in time to muffle a series of sneezes into it, her face blushing with embarrassment as she excused herself with a quiet apology.
“Bless you, hey, I think we should get you home, you look exhausted darling.” Kara purred as she sipped the last of her wine before placing her hand over Lena’s, gently using her thumb to rub small circles over her skin, “We could go back to my apartment if you’d like? I can take care of you a little.” She offered sweetly.
“But I dont- You dont- Look, you and I, we’re not even official yet.” Lena almost whispered, “I don’t want you to be put off by this.” She gestured to herself before muffling a cough into her napkin.
“Being ill, being taken care of. It’s not something I’m used.” She admitted, her eyes cast down to the table hiding from Kara’s sympathetic gaze.
But the Kryptonian only shook her head in reply, raising her hand to gently tilt Lena’s chin up so that the two locked eyes once again, “It’s okay, don’t worry. We can stop buying the store on the way home, pick you up some things that’ll help.” She smiled, taking the same hand and outstretching it to hold Lena’s, “It’ll be okay darling. We’ll figure this out together.”

When the Sky Falls
******************************************************** Okay so this will be a little different but here it is...
Summary: Supergirl x Star Girl mash-up based on season one when they are staked out in the cabin but also when they fight eclipso in season two just imagine mass chaos and an old friend calls for help. The catch is that you're also 8 months pregnant, captaining a team helping to save the world. Lena Luthor x pregnant!wife! reader
********************************************************
Brrrr! Brrrr!
You heard a phone going off and felt Lena shift behind you, unwrappping her arms and you no longer could feel her pressed against your back. you glanced at the alarm clock, 2:27am, who is calling at this ungodly hour? "Hello?" she answered. You could hear muffled talking on the other end and then she turned back handing the phone to you. you tried your best to sit up but being 8 months pregnant made it extremely hard so you scooted back resting against the headboard and pillows.
"Y/N Luthor speaking."
"Hey Y/N it's me Pat Doogan, though I knew you as Y/N Avery back then."
"Pat, like Starman's 2nd hand, it's been a while. What's going on it's 2:30 in the morning."
"Yes about that, It's a long story but I need your help and your team. Eclipso got out and I love my stepdaughter but her and her friends can't do this alone."
"Pat, if he's out then he'll be after that staff."
"I know and turns out my stepdaughter now wields it."
"Okay, let me make a few calls, do you know where my old cabin was?"
"Yea but it was small enough for like three people."
"Yea well perks of marrying a billionaire that understands the stress of the superhuman, crimefighting life, she helped me rebuild it. Just trust me it'll fit everyone and it's completely off the grid and high tech go there and hang out until we can get to you."
"Okay, got it, see you soon hopefully."
"Oh trust me you will, you're gonna need us."
You turned to Lena but she already knew, she grabbed the bags from the closet as you got out of bed threw a couple extra things in, and ran them downstairs. You quickly sent out an emergency alert, asking for Wynn, James, Alex, and of course Kara. telling them all to grab their suits and rendezvous at your house, within 20 minutes they were all there ready to go. When arriving at the cabin you saw Pat's car parked and assumed S.T.R.I.P.E. was somewhere nearby in hiding. You saw the lights on and everyone quickly followed behind you and Lena. You could hear arguing in the den you were standing on the balcony above looking down at the scene before you, Pat, another middle-aged blonde woman who you assumed was his wife, a young girl who looked like the woman with wavy blonde hair, a tall boy with disheveled brown hair, and two other girls one Latino with long black braids, and another girl black with short coily hair. You saw blueprints laying on the table before them and you could hear them arguing strategies.
"Well I hate to break up this party but I might be able to help," you started down the stairs. everyine jumped to attention quickly arming themselves, you saw a girl out of the corner of your eye tall, black hair with white highlights, a blade coming from her wrist. "Yes I knew you would make it." Pat quickly made his way over and introduced everyone. "It's been so long and now your married and a baby on the way that's crazy!"
"Yea but that's life," you smiled at Lena, "Anyway everyone this is my team Wynn Schott my technical analyst, Alex Danvers, Len Luthor, James Olsen the guardian, and of course Kara who you all know as Supergirl. I told Pat I would only bring the best." they were all whispering and started to get excited that a Kryptonian was in the same room as them. "Before we go any further Lena and I are glad everyone is here we just wish it was under better circumstances, but villians don;t take days off so lets get eveyine in their bunks and we can figure this out."
"I don't think there's enough bunks though."
"You just need to know where to look," Lena quickly motioned to the wall and it moved revealing and elevator, you stayed uo all night talking strategy and then before you knew it storms started coming and it was time your team needed to move out.
--Time jump--
You were at the cabin with Barbara being the command center, while everyone else was in town, Lena and Wynn took Beth to the town hall to break into mainframes while everyone else was underground fighting, Lena had specially designed suits for everyone to monitor vitals and conditions. Everything was going smoothly until you lost connections to comms and couldn't get them back, vitals started to spike and before you knew it they all went down. Barbara was trying her best to keep calm and help you but moving between screens was becoming harder by the second. You paused a second and shifted in your chair starting to feel a slight tightening, but you blew it off, you needed to get your team and everyone else out alive. You stood up pushed the chair away and continued back to your typing, forgetting the woman behind you.
"Y/N are you okay?" You heard Barbara speak up, forgetting she was there you had allowed yourself to wince, not realizing she saw.
"Yea, it's just hard to be in the dark like this, not knowing if my team or those kids are okay."
"That's not what I meant, you're getting close to your due date which can be stressful enough on the body." She said placing a comforting hand on your back.
"Look I understand the concern but that's my wife, the mother of my child, and my baby's aunts and uncles are down there. I can't sit here trying not to stress myself out when for all I know they could be laying there helpless bleeding out or worse." You felt another pain and this time you knew it was too late, inhaling and taking a deep breath leaning against the desk, almost hitting the floor but feeling her guide you back into the chair.
she bent down in front of you, holding on of your hands. "Trust me, if anyone understands, I do but you're not helping anyone if you're in labor and trying to run a command center by yourself, tell me what to do let me be your hands."
"Okay," you shook your head pitifully at her and started giving her instructions, you stood and started pacing back and forth allowing it to ease the pain while she typed away. Another pain came causing you to stop in your tracks and lean against the far corner of the desk, you tried breathing and a small whine escaped your lips, Barbara watched you out of the corner of her eye, noting that you were getting closer and closer to having this baby. She finished typing her last couple of lines and carefully approached you, you felt her hands slowly massage your lower back relieving some of the pressure. "Okay I think it might be time to move you back upstairs."
"What? No, we need to get connection back."
"Y/N it's trying to restore but if we don't go soon you're gonna have that baby right here, and I don't think you want that?"
You shook your head no, "Just try one more time and if it works we can go upstairs and monitor from one of the tablets."
"One more time," she said studying your eyes and you teared up, you quickly shut them feeling another contraction, and winced as she turned to reboot the program. You both held your breath but then you heard it static and then everything came back at once you watched as the screens lit back up and everyone's pictures and vitals came back online. they quickly transferred to a tablet and Barbara grabbed it moving towards you. You heard her breathe a sigh of relief, and turn to look at you but your face was painted with concern as you looked down, you felt the warm liquid running down your leg and onto the floor, she followed your eyes and then you both looked back up your demeanor suddenly betraying you and breaking from its normal confidence.
"Y/N, your water."
"I....I.." you were speechless. She wrapped her arm around you and quickly took you back upstairs to the master suite. you leaned against the bedpost in pain as she rubbed your back. "Y/N I'm going to call Alex and try to get someone here but unfortunately I'm not sure." you nodded trying to breathe through the pain. She slipped and earpiece in and was talking over the comms, you could only hear what she was saying and the reaction didn't sound good, things started moving fast she was running around grabbing supplies while you fought contractions that were coming on after the other.
20 minutes later Alex and Lena both rush into the room. Alex rushes into the ensuite bathroom washing her hands and asking Barbara questions while Lena rushes to your side, she helps you placing an arm around your back and guiding you onto the bed, she sits behind you and you press into your wife's chest wanting nothing more than this to be over. That's when Alex comes over and helps take your pants, and underwear off. "Y/N this is really going to be uncomfortable but I need to check and see where you're at." You shook your head and waited, feeling her insert two fingers but they didn't make it far before she met your baby's head.
"Okay, Barbara grab some gloves and get over here I'm gonna need some help," Alex climbed up onto the bed in between your legs placing one hand on your knee and the other on your bump. "Y/N I wish this wasn't going to happen here but it looks like this little one wants to meet their mama's a little early."
"It's too early, I have a month left!" you gritted out.
"Well looks like this little one is an overachiever, it'll be okay just on this next contraction I need you to push."
Several pushes, a little bit of blood, and an hour later, "Okay Y/N, stop pushing, I need to...just give me one second."
"What's wrong?" no response so you asked again, no response. "Dammit Alex what's wrong with my baby!"
"Y/N I need you to relax, the shoulder is stuck I'm going to have to check the cord first and then shift the baby but it's going to hurt."
"I don't care, save my baby," she looked at you knowing the danger of the situation, "Alex, you know I trust you with my life so I am telling you now, no matter how loud I scream or how many times I tell you to stop you do what you have to, to save this baby."
"Y/N" you could feel Lena tense behind you. "Do you understand?" she looked at Alex. "No, I said do you understand?"
"Yes."
"Okay then." you gripped Lena's hand and pressed back against her feeling her tears fall, Alex quickly felt for the cord but it wasn't around the neck, now for the hard part. You felt you place two hands on your bump hesitantly and she looked into your eyes, you gave her the go-ahead and closed them gritting your teeth as you felt her start, but that quickly turned into a blood-curdling scream as you felt the pressure on the sore muscles and the baby shifting. "Oh God, I'm okay, I'm okay, God that hurts." You gritted your teeth and felt the baby shift, "Okay Y/N push, go ahead and push." You bore down and pushed with everything you had, feeling the shoulder come loose and the baby slides down. The cry filled the room and Alex wrapped her in one of the white towels laying her on your chest.
"She's here!"
"She?" Lena asked and Alex shook her head.
"We have a daughter, a baby girl."
--Time Jump--
Everyone had returned from defeating Eclipso and Kara was now holding her niece talking to Alex as the rest of the younger team filed in to see. they each got to say hellos before she brought her back into your room. handing her back to Lena and she turned to you, embracing you as Lena watched happily and her daughter cooed.
"I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you Kara, for everything, for getting everyone out alive and making sure my wife made it back for the birth of our baby girl," the two women shared a look, making you laugh. "Oh don't think I didn't notice Lena made it here in five minutes when she should've only made it in 30."
"Oh Love you never miss a thing do you." You all laughed Lena coming in to kiss you.
"So did you pick a name or am I just going to keep calling her nugget?" Kara asked. you all chuckled and you looked at Lena her giving you the okay.
"You can call her nugget all you want," you said handing her back to Kara, "But meet your niece Adira Kara Luthor, it means strong and powerful which is something that I want her to be one day."
"Well I think she has the perfect set of role models for that, don't you nugget." Kara said as the little girl grabbed her finger.
"Oh she definitely does," Lena said wrapping and arm around your waist and leaning down to kiss you.

Forgotten, Not Forgiven - Chapter 8
Still reeling from finding out the truth herself, Lena suddenly finds herself in the midst of an odd role reversal in which she knows that Kara is Supergirl, but Kara no longer has any idea she has ever been more than an ordinary human. And what’s more, Lena has no choice but to keep the truth from her for her own protection…
Rift era reconciliation/fix-it fic, starts out kind of on the angsty side but there will be more fluff down the line.
This and previous chapters are also on AO3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lena did her best to swipe a hand over her sweaty brow while clutching two full cups of iced coffee. It was hot. Unseasonably so for so early in the year, and made worse by the fact that the coffee cart was out in the full blaze of the sun, no handy tree or parasol in sight to offer shade.
She thought longingly of her crisp, air conditioned office, but made no move to head in that direction.
After they had bumped into each other here before work for the second time in two days, Kara and Lena had, without discussing the matter, taken to waiting for each other every morning, then walking together until the paths to their respective work places diverged. Sometimes that meant one or other of them would be standing here for fifteen minutes for the sake of an eight minute walk, but Lena didn’t mind. Starting the morning with Kara had become part of her routine.
She told herself that it was mostly just nice to have an excuse to be outside and take in some vitamin D before shutting herself away in her office all day, but if that had been true she could have started doing this at any time and hadn’t. She was here for Kara.
Kara, who was late.
The spiced pumpkin cinnamon iced latte Lena had bought her was sweating through its paper cup, the ice melting rapidly into the coffee as the minutes ticked by. Today of all days she really needed to see Kara, but if she didn’t arrive soon, she was going to have to-
‘Sorry sorry sorry! Gah, I am so late, I can’t believe you waited for me all this time! There was a power cut in my apartment last night and my alarm clock reset itself, I only just woke up’.
Lena smiled back at a slightly dishevelled Kara, the long wait instantly insignificant as she handed over the drink.
‘That’s alright, I haven’t been here that long’.
Lie.
‘Having an alarm clock that relies on mains power is asking for trouble though’.
‘You are so right, I know, I just always worry that batteries would run down and I wouldn’t notice’.
‘No problem, I’ll make you something a little more reliable. Can’t have tardiness getting in the way of National City’s best reporter getting her scoop’.
Kara grimaced, picking at the lid of her cup without taking a sip.
‘My Who Wore it Best? scoop you mean? Yeah, I think the world will be fine waiting an extra twenty minutes for that.’
‘Seriously? Andrea still has you on the fashion beat?’
‘Yep. I think she’s punishing me for how much we butted heads when she first arrived. Sorry, I shouldn’t be saying this to you, I know Andrea’s your friend. I’m sure she’s a great business woman, it’s just… ever since I started Catco was about getting the truth out there. Sure there was always the lighter stuff too, but we were reporting real stories with integrity and making a difference, and I loved that about my job. With Andrea it’s all about getting more hits, even if that means publishing a load of sensationalist clickbait and pop quizzes’.
Kara looked so utterly dejected as she spoke that Lena felt an unexpected pang of guilt. Of course she knew already what Andrea was doing to Catco, it had been the entire point of choosing her to sell it to. Removing the truth and integrity from her journalistic endeavours had been the perfect revenge on Kara for her own lack of it when it had come to their personal relationship, and yet now she found it wasn’t as satisfying as she had expected it to be. In fact, with Kara no longer aware of what she had done to deserve it, and the up close and personal view of just how completely Andrea had changed things in so short a time, Lena almost wished she could take it back...
‘Maybe once she’s been there a little longer things will settle down and she’ll find more of a balance? It isn’t easy to keep an organisation like Catco turning a profit on hard hitting journalism alone, I found that out myself when I was in charge, and James and I clashed about it a few times in the beginning. But we found our way eventually, right?’
‘Yeah, I guess that’s true. Maybe I just got spoiled getting to work with my best friend every day. I know you needed the money and I don’t blame you for selling up, but I miss you being there’.
‘I miss it too’.
It was nothing more than a meaningless platitude – the response she had to give in order to maintain the bond that Kara believed they had as part of getting her memories back, but it also rang truer than Lena cared to admit. She wasn’t sorry that she had sold Catco (though maybe just a little bit sorry that it had been to Andrea) – the whole acquisition had only ever been for Kara’s sake, and after she’d found out about her lie she couldn’t continue to pour so much of her capital into a place she could no longer bear to set foot in. But all the same, this playing pretend with a version of Kara that seemed so much like the one she had once believed to be real brought home how happy she had been back then, and how hollow her life had felt since they stopped speaking.
‘Do you want me to have a word with Andrea? She really is wasting your talents keeping you tied to fashion’.
She made the offer without quite thinking through exactly how uncomfortable (and in all likelihood both personally revealing and entirely pointless) that conversation would be, but luckily she wasn’t going to have to find out. Kara winced at the idea and shook her head very firmly.
‘Oh god, no please don’t! Thank you, but I’d feel like way too much like a little kid asking her mommy to tell the teacher to stop picking on her. No, it’s fine really, I’m just venting. I guess I’m just frustrated that I feel like I’m not doing anything to help people anymore. Maybe I need to volunteer at a soup kitchen or something’.
And there it was. The perfect opening, dropped unlooked for into her lap like a gift, and Lena knew she had to take it. She smiled brightly, pushing away the unaccountable reluctance that rose up along with the words she needed to say next. Probably just nerves.
‘That’s not a bad idea, but actually there’s something you could do to really help me, if you think you’d be interested’.
‘Yes of course, anything! What do you need?’
‘There’s a side project I’ve been working on for a while now. It uses a particular type of soothing stimulation to interact with the brain of a subject in order to help them overcome trauma or other mental blocks. It’s entirely none invasive, and in theory it could have applications for treating a whole host of conditions far more effectively than medication. I’m hoping in time it will be used alongside therapy to help everyone from war veterans to refugees to people with mental health disorders and dementia’.
This was not exactly a lie. Lena was hopeful that with agreement from the DEO to use their technology, the Q-wave device could be adapted to do exactly what she had just told Kara it would do. It just wasn’t the primary purpose.
‘That sounds amazing Lena! Wow, you could help so many people with something like this. Thousands’.
‘Hundreds of thousands, I hope. But before we can get to that stage… I need a test subject. I was wondering whether you might be willing to be my guinea pig? It would require repeated sessions over a number of weeks, maybe even longer, but I thought after the trial if all goes well you could write an article about it, including your own personal experience of using the technology. That way you’d get something out of it to show Andrea, and we could spread the word to the people who might need it’.
‘Oh… Well of course I’d love to help and I will absolutely write the article, but are you sure I’m the right fit for the clinical trial? You said it’s to help people with trauma, and that’s not exactly me’.
Lena choked on a sip of coffee. Of all the objections she had thought Kara might have around this, her own lack of trauma was not one of them.
‘Kara, a few weeks ago you were kidnapped by a gang and kept in an induced coma for a week’.
Kara shrugged, like it was the sort of mundane annoyance that happened all the time and barely worth mentioning.
‘Okay yeah, point taken, but it wasn’t nearly as big a deal as that makes it sound. I just don’t want to deny the opportunity to someone who could benefit so much more from what you’re doing – it’s not like I’m a soldier or a refugee or anything’.
But of course, that’s exactly what she was. What Kara Zor El was. A refugee who had come further than almost any other on the planet in search of safety, and yet when she got here she had started protecting the people of Earth, rather than seeking protection from them. Despite all the ways they seemed so different, that was one of the commonalities Lena could see between Kara Danvers and Supergirl. They were both so focused on others, so hopeful and positive in so many ways, that it was easy to just blithely accept statements like ‘I don’t have any trauma’ as objective fact. But even before Lena had found out who Kara really was, she had known that wasn’t true.
They had even talked about it, sometimes.
Usually it had been very late at night, when the world felt quiet and somehow not as real as it did during the day, and alone on Lena’s balcony, or in Kara’s loft with only the dim glow of the muted tv screen to light their faces, they had found a way to open up about things they would usually gloss over or make light of.
On those nights they had exchanged stories of being lonely orphans trying to find their feet in new families with strange expectations, and despite the difference in their ages when it had happened and the vastly different type of home they had ended up in in, they had found more common ground than otherwise. It had been one of the things that had made Lena trust Kara so completely. She had understood, when so few people ever could. Even now she knew that what Kara had told her must have been significantly edited to avoid mentioning the fact that her first family had been from another planet, she didn’t believe – couldn’t believe – that the essence of what they had shared on those occasions had been a lie.
It made her wish – fleetingly, pointlessly – that they were sitting cross legged on Kara’s living room floor in the dark right now, a bottle of wine half finished between them and empty take out containers littering the table along with whatever boardgame they hadn’t yet put away. If they had been, maybe Kara wouldn’t be shrugging off her experiences as ‘not a big deal’. Maybe Lena would admit how she really felt about the years of deception, and the fallout after she discovered the truth. Maybe they would be able to talk openly about all of it, and maybe, in that space if in no other, they would have found a way to make it right again for real.
But the sun was bright in the sky, there was a crowd of other office workers around them waiting to cross the road, and it was no time for tear-stained confessions. So Lena shrugged away the painful past that hung invisibly around them like the folds of the cape Kara no longer wore, and took the statement at face value.
‘Well, in any case, at this stage of research it will be useful to repeat the trial with people who have had all sorts of different life experiences, traumatic or otherwise. And honestly, I’d find it very reassuring to have my first subject be a friend…’
A brightly painted truck drove past them, chimes optimistically jingling out a slightly distorted rendition of ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’ despite the early hour, and it gave Lena an idea that might just go down better for both of them than pushing the trauma angle.
‘… I can offer you post-session ice cream, if that sweetens the deal at all?’
It must have been the right choice because Kara grinned, a tension that hadn’t obviously been there until it was gone dissolving from her posture.
‘Of course I’ll do it if you’re sure you want me, that’s not even a question! And you don’t have to bribe me with ice cream, I’m not six’.
But her eyes were still following the truck as it disappeared around the corner, undermining her protestation somewhat and making Lena smile despite herself.
‘Okay, so… no ice cream?’
‘Oh no, I will TAKE the ice cream. I just meant you don’t have to make it worth my while. I’m happy to do it just because it’s helping you’.
In a now-rare gesture of physical affection, Kara looped her arm through Lena’s and gave it a little squeeze. Lena didn’t squeeze back, but she didn’t try to find an excuse to let go either, and they continued to walk arm in arm as they took the turning that would lead them towards L-Corp.
‘Good, because I have been having the biggest craving for Cherry Garcia, and that suggestion was mostly just an excuse for me to get some guilt free sugar. Everyone knows it doesn’t count if you’re eating ice cream with a clinical trial participant’.
‘Really? Huh, I never heard of that loophole before’.
‘Of course. It’s one of the first things they teach you during undergraduate research methods classes: the pitfalls of sampling bias, linear and logistic regression analysis, and the inviolable rule of ice cream after you scan someone’s brain’.
Kara actually laughed aloud at that, and tried (unsuccessfully) to do a little ‘darn it’ arm pump without sloshing her drink, ending up with pumpkin-scented coffee running down her hand.
‘If I’d known that maybe I’d have gone into scientific research rather than journalism! All we get is pizza when we have to stay late for a breaking news event’.
‘Oh, I think there’s room for pizza and ice cream in your life’.
‘There definitely is. Maybe even with a side order of potstickers’.
‘An interesting combination’.
Kara shook the excess liquid off her hand before wiping it off on her thigh and grinning.
‘You know me, I like to live life by the seat of my pants’.
A/N: This is pure filth, and smut. Go ahead with caution.
____________________________________________
Lena drooled at the sight of her beefy Kryptonian practicing her punches on the pillars of the training room. She whined a bit as Kara shattered a huge pillar.
That grabbed the Super's attention and she turned around to seek the source of the whine.
“Lena? Baby? Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
Her voice almost cracked. It was no surprise that the badass CEO Lena Luthor, was a big mess when it came to the Girl of Steel.
Kara seemed to have noticed the effect she had on her beloved and picked up a huge piece of debris and started pumping with it, in an attempt to mess up with Lena.
“What do you want, Princess?”
That earned her another soft whimper that no one, but the Kryptonian could hear. Although, this time Lena was a bit more composed.
“You are playing a very, very dangerous game.”
She replied and Kara smirked while throwing away the debris. She stepped closer to Lena and stood right in front of her. Lena was standing on a step which gave her a height advantage and it also gave Kara a reason to be at eye level with her beautiful boobs.
“Am I now, Baby? Are you not going to let me fuck you mindlessly the moment we step out?”
That made Lena's eyes almost bulge out of her skull.
“Kara!”
She whisper shouted, looking around to see if anyone was in earshot. Fortunately, it was only the both of them in the room. Kara noticed it too as she pulled her girlfriend closer by her waist.
“Is that the name you wish to go with, Princess? When I have your pleasure hostage?”
She whispered and pulled her girl closer. Lena stepped down to stand directly in front of the Super, her face now adorned with a blush as red as her girlfriend's cape. She gently stood on her tiptoes and placed her lips directly near her superpowered girlfriend's ear.
“Please take me as you wish, Daddy.”
That made Kara take a deep breath in and within a fraction of a second she found herself in an enclosed room. It was the DEO supply closet that Lena was very well familiar with.
“We should really-”
But any protest she had died in her throat when Kara started nipping her neck.
“I can't believe you started this again in the DEO.”
Kara said between the nips and smacked Lena's ass.
“Your muscles…”
Lena didn't need to explain further. Kara knew how fond of her muscles Lena was. She kept attacking Lena's earlobe and neck as she gently moved her hand toward the waistline of her girlfriend's slit skirt.
“Do you know what this fucking outfit does to me?”
She whispered and Lena stifled a moan, worrying about people hearing her.
“It's all yours, Daddy.”
That gave Kara the push she needed and within seconds her already-ruined panties were torn and Kara's fingers were teasing her entrance.
“May I?”
She asked softly and Lena nodded in her neck as she held onto Kara closer by her shoulders. The probing fingers finally entered her wet center and she couldn't contain herself.
“Fuck! You are so fucking wet for me, Princess.”
She noted and kept pleasuring her girlfriend.
Kara had never before in her life used her powers for something selfish. But getting Lena off using her super speed and teasing her using temperature play was Kara's most desirable use of her powers.
She vibrated her fingers right at the spot she had discovered several times before and Lena's back arched against her arm. She held her close muttering sinful comments in her ears as she finally started gushing.
“That's it, Princess. Cum for Daddy. Just like that.”
Lena felt as if that orgasm had no end as Kara kept probing her again and again. She whimpered a bit as she realized she had nothing else left to give.
Kara looked at the entirely spent face of her girlfriend and kissed her on the forehead. She gently sat both of them down with Lena in her lap.
Her fingers moved a bit inside Lena while maneuvering them and that got her another soft whimper. She pulled her closer, keeping her fingers stable, and kissed her girlfriend softly.
“Are you okay, Princess?”
Lena nodded softly in her neck.
“Never better.”
Her voice was a big hoarse with all the moans.
“I am going to remove my fingers now, okay?”
She could see another whimper bubbling up in Lena's throat before she shushed her.
“I will be gentle.”
She assured as she slowly and softly pulled her soaked fingers out of Lena's glistening center. There was still a soft whimper that escaped Lena at the sudden loss. But, Kara softly rubbed her outer lips before losing contact altogether.
She opened her eyes to see Kara licking her fingers and she pushed herself closer to her girlfriend, kissing her neck.
“You are insatiable, Supergirl.”
“Only for you, Princess.”
“We are never again having sex in this closet. Too risky.”
“If I flex my bicep right now you will get on your knees to suck my strap.”
“You are strapping?”
Lena's eyes darkened at the revelation and Kara chuckled knowing her girlfriend's further intention.
A/N: So, that was extremely weird, right? Well, I started this collection back when I did to write some smut. But I never got to it. Today, I finally found my inspiration.
So, anyway, do let me know what do you think about it. As always, let me know if you want me to continue it. (Sometimes, I respond better to, Please Da- *coughs* nothing.)
Kara stared at the device with tears streaming down her face. She placed her fingers again on the dots hoping to get it to work again. It lights up for a few seconds before flicking out again.
Kara shook her head while sobbing, “No, No, No!”
She started shaking it rapidly to try to make it work. She then started to wack it multiple times hoping that it would jump-start it until Barry quickly grabbed her hands and forced her to stop while Damian quickly removed the device from her lap. Kara moved to try to grab the device back from Damian but Barry quickly moved to grab her hands again.
Barry said softly, “Kara, you need to stop.”
Kara looked up at him with hurt in her eyes and sobbed, “But it is my mom…”
“I know you have lots of questions, and I promise you that we will find you answers. Beating it out of the device is not going to help.”
“I don’t know what to do,” Kara sobbed harder.
Barry instantly wrapped his arms around Kara in a warm embrace. Kara initially pushed back but then relaxed into the embrace and rested her face on his shoulders.
Barry rubbed her back and whispered, “It’s going to be okay.”
Kara cried for a while while Barry rocked her back and forth gently. Damian mostly sat with intrigue at the device in the center of this chaos. Kara eventually sat up and wiped the tears from her red puffy eyes.
She smiled weakly and said, “I am sorry for my outburst.”
Barry, smiled, gently squeezed her hand, and asked “What outburst?”
Kara looked down and said softly, “It was inappropriate given we were in the middle of a mission.”
Damian placed his hand gently on top of Kara’s and said, “Father told me what happened to your home and family. No one would fault you for the reaction you had given everything you have gone through.”
Barry smiled and said, “I never thought that I would say this, but the kid is right for a change.”
Kara chuckled softly while looking at Damian and said, “I knew you could be sentimental.”
Damian rolled his eyes and muttered, “Don’t get used to it.”
Kara chuckled while looking back at the device for a couple of seconds. The device was Kryptonian. That is for certain. And her mom’s voice was on it. The question is why though. She went to grab the device back from Damian who looked at her hesitantly.
Kara sighed and said, “I promise not to wack it again. I just want to examine it is all.”
She was irritated but knew she shouldn’t be at Damian’s response. She did lose control earlier. She was just glad they were more understanding than others would be in her situation. Damian nodded and gave her the device. She did a quick X-ray scan which confirmed what she already suspected. The device had Kryptonian parts that she recognized due to her father's job. It contained parts she had seen him use on his inventions. This also told her that this was more than likely either science or engineering-related since those two branches tended to intersect with each other a lot on Krypton. She turned it over to look at the bottom. Her heart skipped a beat at what she saw. Written at the bottom was the name Zor El. Her father’s name. She traced his signature with her fingers over and over. Looking at the signature caused a memory to unlock. She briefly remembered seeing her dad examining crystals similar to the ones in front of her. When she asked him what they were for, he said that the crystals were for saving data. She thought it was odd at the time because while they did use crystals to save data, they were usually no larger than the size of her thumb. The ones that were before her and the ones that her dad was working on were a foot long. It didn’t make sense to her to need something that big considering that most crystal drives were able to hold over 100 TB. She wondered if it really was a storage device or something more. As her mind began to spiral, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Barry staring at her with concern in his eyes.
“Is everything okay? You looked startled while staring at this thing.”
Kara nodded and said, “I’m fine. I just recognized the maker of the device is all.”
“Who?” asked Damian.
“My father,” said Kara softly.
“Did your dad mention ever working on something like this?” asked Barry.
Kara sighed and said, “Kind of. He had crystals like these that he was working on in his home lab. I remembered him telling me that it had to do with data storage, but it didn’t make sense.”
Barry frowned and asked, “Why?”
Kara said, “Well, the crystals that we use normally are similar to the size of a thumb drive. We never had crystals these large for saving data.”
“Do you remember when you saw him working on this?” asked Damian.
“A couple of days before Krypton exploded,” said Kara softly.
They were all silent for a moment before Damian mused, “It makes sense then why it is so large.”
Kara looked at him quizzically and asked, “Why would you say that?”
“If they knew of the possibility of their demise, it makes sense that a scientist would want to create a way of preserving as much information that Krypton has to offer so that it doesn’t become lost in history.”
Kara stared at Damian perplexed. She didn’t want to think that her parents knew that something was wrong and didn’t tell her. However, it did make sense. Her and Clark’s parents wouldn’t have had pods ready for them if they didn’t think there was a possibility of their planet’s destruction.
She shook her head and said, “Regardless of what this thing is, I need to get inside it. I have an idea of someone to ask but am not sure if they would necessarily help me at this point. Any suggestions?”
She looked back and forth between Barry and Damian desperately. Her first thoughts were to ask Lena. While she mostly worked in medicine, she knew that she had a Ph.D. in both Engineering and Technology and was at the top of her class. However, she wasn’t sure if she would necessarily be willing to help or not. Right now, they are working on an exchange of services with the hospital and her tax issues. While Lena seemed to have warmed up to her, it may not be enough for Lena to want to do anything extra. She knew she would be willing to grovel if that was what it took, but she would like to have a backup in case it was a flat-out refusal. Damian rubbed the back of his head and sighed.
“Father said that he wouldn’t be back for a couple of days. I am assuming you wouldn’t want to wait that long,” mused Damian.
Kara shook her head. She and Damian turned to look at Barry who stared at them baffled.
“I am just as clueless as you are on what this thing is,” said Barry.
Damian rolled his eyes and said, “We get that dumb ass. We want to know if you know of anyone that can help with this.”
Barry scowled at him for a second but took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
He turned to Kara and said, “I have a friend from Palmer Technologies who may be able to help.”
Kara looked at Barry hesitantly and asked, “And this friend would be able to keep this discrete?”
Barry nodded and said, “She is very professional. This isn’t her first time working with superheroes. You may have heard of her before, Felicity Smoak.”
Kara breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Good. I have heard mostly positive things about her. I know she was integral in helping the Green Arrow and the Atom in their base of operations.”
Barry said, “Yeah, she is amazing with tech. I am sure she can give us some insight into what is going on.”
We Deserve Only Good Things by ThornedRose44
“Are you Lena?” The girl jolted in her spot on the sofa, hugging the bear closer to her chest. “Yes.” Even though Kara had known it from the second she had laid eyes on the child, the confirmation still managed to take her by surprise. “Who are you?” Lena asked, trying to sound as confident as she could. “Oh, my name’s Kara.” Kara replied warmly, taking a step forward, eager to move closer to offer reassurance before halting the second she saw the younger version of her once best friend flinch. “It’s okay,” Kara quickly soothed, “It’s okay. I won’t hurt you.” Lena peered over the top of her bear’s fuzzy head, “Promise?” Kara knelt down and smiled brightly, “Promise.”
Following Lex’s defeat, Kara and Lena are struggling to rebuild their friendship and let go of the hurt caused on both sides when Kara and Lena work together to help an alien return home. To show their gratitude for being saved the alien provides the two of them a chance to close the rift still between them. How? By getting them to meet each other's younger selves.
S6. Reconciliation is hard but they get help. Hits you right in the feels - and hard. SO well done, truly its a gem. Meeting little Kara and Lena was a real treat, wish we'd had more of that in the show. She writes them both so well and just knows how to cut them to the core. Brilliant!
something so precious about this (oh what a sin) by Just_As_Sane
Small folded pieces of paper begin to gather in her wallet. There’s swans, cute puppy faces with tiny noses drawn on them, various sized stars and there’s fish, frogs even a dinosaur.
But mostly there’s hearts.
She tries not to read too much into it.
or
Kara makes little origami creations and gives them to Lena, and Lena being the complete and utter sap that she is, loves them with all her heart.
What's gonna be left of the world if you're not in it? by ThornedRose44
If Lena didn’t know any better she would say she was being haunted. By an actual ghost. But Lena knew better. She had one of the highest IQ’s in the country. So Lena knew better.
This ones a lot funnier than it might sound. It gets a bit sad and sappy later, but that makes the story even better. Very happy ending (Kara is not actually dead). Also if you haven't already do check out all her fics. (tho i probably recd them all by now)
i love that i know you (like no one does) by robie
“Help me understand,” Kara says. “Are you saying everyone falls in love with their best friend?”
“I’m saying that queer women have a special affinity for it,” Lena repeats, fishing the cherry out of the bottom of her drink. “The whole ‘falling for your straight best friend’ is basically a rite of passage.”
“Says who?”
“Everyone.” She puts the cherry in her mouth, bites it off the stem. “The L Word was like, built on the premise that a friend group of queer woman in LA dated each other in some sort of terrible repeating circle for, god, however many seasons that went on. And it’s been my experience that when two people are attracted to each other, and they’re close, feelings are likely to develop.”
“That’s just, I mean, come on.” Kara’s cheeks are a little pink. “A trope and a tv show? That’s your evidence?”
“So you’ve never been in love with your best friend?” Lena looks down at her empty glass.
“No!” Kara sounds affronted. “No, I have never been in love with my best friend.”
Sooo they totally fall in love of course, it just takes a while - cue jUsT fRiEndS shenanigans. Like so so many of them. Lots of pinging, a little angsty but eventually they stop being dumb. So so so well written.
“Hey! Don’t stop!”
Kara whines as Lena pulls her hands away from her, having previously been gently running her nails up and down Kara’s back soothingly.
“What am I, you’re personal back scratcher?” Lena laughs at Kara’s indignant stare coming from in her lap, where the blonde is laying, effectively pinning her down.
“That’s what you agreed to when you started dating me.” Kara sticks out her tongue before dropping her head back down and closing her eyes. “I’m not moving so you might as well carry on.”
Lena giggles at her antics, “Oh is that so?”
“Mmm hmm.”
“And that doesn’t sound slightly unreasonable to you?” Lena quirks her eyebrow as she smirks down at the blonde, still closing her eyes to avoid eye contact.
“Not at all.” She states bluntly.
Lena goes back to gently scratching at her back, getting a little bit bored, not having anything to keep her mind occupied. “I’m bored. Can we please do something else?”
Kara let’s out a sigh, sitting up and facing Lena. “Fine. What do you want to do instead?”
“Well, I was thinking that maybe we could use those body paints that you ordered. They arrived last week, and I know you’ve been looking for an excuse to use them. “
Before Kara can even respond, Lena is already up and going to the spare room where all of Kara’s art stuff is kept, making it her own art studio. It’s Kara’s favourite room in the penthouse, Lena having set it up for her as a surprise when they had decided to move in together.
Lena casually strolls back into the living room a minute later, her arms stretched around the box of paints and one of Kara’s protective sheets draped over her arm.
She sets the box down and holds the sheet up to Kara. “So, where do you want to do this?”
“The floor is probably the easiest for access, just put the sheet over the rug so it’s soft beneath us.”
Lena mock salutes and together they lift the coffee table out of the way, pressing it closer to the floor to ceiling windows then she spreads the sheet over the rug, pausing for a second before grabbing a cushion from the L shaped couch and tosses it onto the sheet.
“I didn’t tell you that I ordered body paints, I was going to ask you to be my canvas in a super romantic sexy way.” Kara whines as she begins looking through the cardboard box that the paints were delivered in. “These paints look epic though, look at the quality.” She squirts a little bit of black paint onto her paint palette.
Lena smiles at the new knowledge that Kara was going to use the paints to woo her, she has a way of making her feel loved and wanted that she doesn’t ever want to be void of again.
“Sorry Darling, you know security goes through all of the packages to make sure they are safe, the only difference is that this time the head of security sent me a text asking where we got them from because his wife is an artist and they had wanted to try body paint before but never got around to it. He was a little disappointed that I couldn’t tell him.”
Kara shrugs her shoulders, “That’s life I guess, no harm done. I’ll send him the link to the set later, or better yet, I’ll just gift him one after all he was very discreet that one time I sent you that sexy package with the lingerie before I knew security checked your packages.”
Lena laughs at the memory. “You did traumatize him, he couldn’t look me in the eyes for weeks and he couldn’t look anywhere near you for several months because of the polaroid pictures you added.”
“Good times. Now lie down, I want to do you first.”
Lena takes off her shirt and her bra in preparation. “I still have those pictures by the way, they keep me company on business trips. Also, that’s not something you say very often.”
Kara pinches the back of Lena’s thigh playfully as she takes her place face down on the sheet, resting her head on the cushion.
“That’s not true!”
Lena holds her hand up, bringing her thumb and forefinger together in a pinching motion. “Just a bit true.”
In response Kara takes a bottle of blue paint and dollops a drop in the centre of Lena’s back. Lena jumps at the sudden cold splatter hitting her bare skin. Her shock quickly turns to giggles.
“I thought reporters are supposed to like the truth?”
Kara takes her brush and swipes the paint across her skin. “Do you really want to ruin this romantic bonding activity with teasing?”
Lena chuckles, folding her arms under her head. “I love you.”
Kara mutters under her breath as she continues adding different coloured paints to Lena’s back, mixing in greens and purples. “That’s what I thought.” She pauses for a second. “I love you too, even if you pick on me sometimes.”
Lena hums happily under Kara’s gentle brush strokes. She can feel the bristles dancing across her back, each stroke is so sure in its movement as the picture in Kara’s mind makes its way into reality. “Who would’ve guessed that you can pick on the girl of steel and get away with it?”
“Shh, I’m busy.”
Lena happily closes her eyes, trying to decipher what Kara is painting from the strokes alone, the curved lines and small areas where the brush is switched out for a smaller one as more details are added.
She listens intently to her girlfriend’s steady breaths, feeling the warmth of her legs as they press into hers and the pressure of her as she sits on the back of her thighs, straddling her but she can tell that she isn’t using her full weight, always too afraid that she is hurting her.
When Kara works up to the top of her back, Lena can feel the tips of her hair dangling down, tickling her skin. She worries for a second about her getting paint in her hair but then remembers that it is all quick dry, it only takes a one to two minutes before it is safe to touch.
She may have done a little bit of research on the body paint once she realized that Kara had bought some. She didn’t want to put anything on her skin that would damage it, so sue her, but luckily it all came back safe, and she actually found that Kara must have done her own research since she had specifically chosen some that was better for her skin, even though she must have had to pay extra.
Lena can feel herself drifting off so she tries to think of something else to wake her up, if she goes to sleep now she will ruin her sleep schedule that she has specifically manufactured to maximize her Kara cuddling time. If she doesn’t get at least five extra minutes in the morning after her alarm wakes her up to enjoy her snuggles she gets grouchy.
She thinks of work, Imagining herself working on her new project; there has been new cases of anti-alien groups using technology to block image inducers to out aliens to their peers and she wants to work on something to block their technology without affecting the image inducers’ technology.
She is picturing schematics in her head as Kara keeps working on her painting, slowly moving across Lena’s back as she adds more and more paint until she has finished.
She leans down and places a chaste kiss to the back of her neck.
“OK babe, I’m done.”
Lena hums happily in response, unfolding her arms from under hear head and stretching them out in front of her, shaking away the pins and needles that have formed from her laying on them.
“Will you take a picture? I want to see.” She mumbles, not willing to move until Kara has taken a picture.
Lena feels Kara’s weight shift as she reaches for her phone, then she hears the sound of the picture being taken.
“You can sit up now.” Kara helps her roll over and sit up onto her knees. When she is settled, she finds a phone pressed beneath her nose.
She leans back from the phone that is way too close to her face so she can actually take in what is on the screen.
It’s beautiful.
It’s a mountain range but not any ordinary mountain range. If it were ordinary it would still be incredible, but this really takes her breath away. It’s clearly from another planet, obviously it’s Krypton.
“This is your home?” She whispers to Kara, in complete awe.
“It’s the Jewel Mountains. My father took me there once, we spent a week up there collecting samples of the different rocks and jewels themselves, even. I had the best time. When I first started painting Krypton, I could only picture the destruction but over time I managed to paint some nicer memories, but this is the first time I’ve tried with this memory. I think it’s my favourite.”
“It’s a shame we can’t hang me on a wall, it should be displayed in a fancy gallery somewhere, it’s so amazing.” She can feel the tears welling in her eyes when she hears the background to the amazing piece of artwork on her back. She tries to swallow down her tears but a couple of them escape down her cheeks.
Kara is quick to wipe them away. “No, no, don’t cry.”
“It’s incredible. You’re incredible.”
Lena leans in and kisses her. It’s wet from the tears but neither of them care. Lena grasps either side of Kara’s face as their lips are locked and Kara holds onto Lena’s wrists gently.
“I don’t ever want to wash it off. It seems like such a shame.”
Kara smiles shyly at her. “I don’t think I would have even had the confidence to try to paint the Jewel Mountains if it weren’t for the fact that it can be washed off.”
“Well maybe now you will have a little bit more confidence…maybe even enough to try to paint the mountains on a canvas next time?”
Kara ducks her head as she laughs to herself, her cheeks bright red. “I guess I know what you want for Christmas.”
“I’ve been looking for something to put on the wall opposite our bed since you moved in so long ago.”
“You act like it’s been a lifetime, we’ve only been living together for four months, you weirdo.”
Lena suddenly looks very serious. “Four amazingly long months.” She nods her head along with the words. “And you have to admit that it would be perfect.”
Kara knows she is going to give in and do it, she knew she would from the first look Lena ever gave her that she would do anything for her. “You also said we should have a naked portrait of me opposite our bed last week.”
“That’s a close second and I would have very much enjoyed it if you hadn’t vetoed it.”
Lena folds her arms which draws Kara’s attention down to her very attractive, very naked chest. Kara just stares for a few seconds, speechless by her beauty before Lena clears her throat.
“Are you finished?”
“What? Me? Yeah! Your turn.”
Lena raises her eyebrow at her teasingly. “My turn? To stare at you naked and then blush about it despite the fact we’ve been together over a year?”
“What? No. To paint on my back.” She unbuttons her shirt quickly and unsnaps her bra, looking at Lena expectantly, needing her to move so she can lie down in her place.
“I thought you were going to be the only one to do that. I can’t paint very well.”
Kara pouts. It’s her weapon of mass destruction, and much more deadly and effective than any of her actual powers. Lena often wonders if Kara’s pout would have worked better than her freeze breath or heat vision after watching her fight.
“Please? This is meant to be a bonding experience and I want us both to try it out.”
Lena smirks, her eyes darkening. “You could’ve just said that you wanted me on top of you, you know?”
Kara sticks out her tongue as Lena finally moves out of the way, flourishing her hand toward the recently vacated spot in invitation.
“You’re going to regret letting me draw on you, I don’t even know where to start.”
“Just follow your heart.”
“Sap.”
Kara hums happily in confirmation as she feel Lena get into place behind her, straddling her hips just as she had done earlier.
“Wait, wait, wait.” Lena gets back up quickly and hurries towards the kitchen. Kara leans up to see what she is doing, luckily she can see because the penthouse is open plan.
Lena is reaching up into a cupboard for glasses when she finally let’s Kara into her plan. “Wine makes everything more tolerable.”
“It’s meant to be romantic not tolerable.”
“Same difference, Darling.”
Lena heads back with two very full glasses on wine, placing them on the floor beside them before resettling back into her position above Kara.
She picks her wine back up and takes a big gulp before placing it back down and grabbing a paint brush. She goes straight for the neon colours, finding that they suit her golden retriever of a puppy much better than the duller ones.
She adds green first, going for a more abstract art piece. She is definitely not going for anything even similar to what Kara did, she would just show herself up, even though Kara would never make fun of her or even compare the two, her competitive brain just won’t let her do it.
She starts with a simple oval, adding random lines and circles here and there, changing the colours to make the lines look cool, just for fun. She is really starting to relax into it, when she hears one of her favourite sounds of all time. Kara is snoring.
It’s just a little quiet snore from the back of her throat but no matter how many times Lena tells her that she finds it cute, she always denies doing it altogether, which makes it even cuter.
She finishes her painting much quicker than she thought she would, having not gone into the detail that Kara had before her. She doesn’t want to wake up her girlfriend though, she needs all the sleep she can get since she has had to rush out in the middle of the night three times already this week for her Supergirl duties and other two times because Cat Grant found a new case to work on and needed her star reporter with her for it.
That woman really doesn’t care what you’re doing or what time it is, if she calls you and tells you to get your ass somewhere, you do it.
She tries adding a little more detail but got bored quickly so she instead starts to mentally work on her plans for the device to block the image-inducer blocker device.
She comes up with a basic plan pretty quickly, she is a genius after all, but in order to advance she needs to see it laid out in front of her. She mentally calculates the risk of what she wants to do and decides that the end outcome of decent schematics for a device to protect aliens is much more important than dealing with her girlfriend’s wrath, so she picks up a thin paintbrush and brushes Kara’s hair out of the way to expose the bare top of her back.
Without further ado she begins to do her calculations and equations to figure out what kind of power source she needs to use and what electromagnetic field strength she needs.
She is only aware of how long she has been sat there when the two wine glasses were empty, Lena having taken Kara’s too, and her legs started to cramp from being in the same position for so long.
She is pretty much finished, so she powers through, finishing up to a good point for restarting when she has a chance to get in her lab.
When she sets down her brush, she stands, trying to increase the blood flow back to her poor legs. She massages them with rough hands until she can feel them again.
Lena looks down at Kara, taking a picture of her work and praying that she actually will be able to finish it before Kara murders her.
Her next goal is to wake her girlfriend up, they really need to wash off the paint before bed, it may be safe for skin but that doesn’t mean sleeping with it on isn’t gross.
“Hey, wake up Kara.” She strokes her hair gently. “Come on Darling, let’s get you up now.”
Kara stirs with a happy smile, always glad to see Lena.
“Hey, sorry. I didn’t mean to fall asleep on you. The paintbrush gave me great back scratchies and it made me tired.” She sits up, using her powers to float upwards so she doesn’t have to use as much effort.
“That’s ok. I know you’ve had a rough week with everyone needing you. I wanted to let you rest a while, but we should go shower and go to bed.”
Kara shakes her head at her with a big smile. “Not until you show me what you did, I want to see your masterpiece.”
Lena rubs the back of her neck with one hand nervously, an apologetic smile on her face as she slowly opens her photo gallery on her phone. She finds the picture and nervously holds the phone out to Kara for her to take.
“Lena Luthor what have you done? Why do you look guilty?”
She gets her answer when she sees the picture. There is a vague, elephant head shaped outline in the centre of her back made out of random shapes and it is completely bordered by equations. The most impressive part was the fact that Lena had fit the device blueprints inside the elephant head, effectively creating the device in the shape of the elephant head.
“I wish I could say that I’m surprised.” Lena is surprised she isn’t using her grumpy tone. “I’m just happy that there is an actual picture in there…just about.”
She begins to giggle as she looks at the picture more closely. “You’re going to have to pitch this device to the board and when you show them the blueprints you’ll have to explain why it’s in the shape of an elephant!”
Her giggles turn into full belly laughs and every time it dies down she takes another look at the picture and starts up again, making Lena laugh along with her. They can’t image how they must look, both laughing hysterically, faces flushed bright red and completely topless.
When she finally stops she sends herself the picture. “I think you should do a paper copy of the blueprints to put on the wall with the canvas of my picture.”
“I tried my best, I couldn’t help it, it just popped into my head.” Lena whines when Kara starts to tease her.
“I know, it’s why I love you. You have a very fascinating brain and a very hot body.” Kara smacks Lena’s ass gently which Lena promptly returns.
“Right back at you. I love you too.”
Wanna hear about superwonder kids, they have a son and daughter:
the son named is Alexander who does martial arts including wrestling, boxing, and karate. He is a introvert but also a warrior like his mom. He got his mother weapons and powers as well.
The daughter name is Sophia who does cheer and book club. She’s takes after Superman gentle and sunny demeanor but also inherit her mother passionate nature. She does train with her parents and aunt kara with her kyptonian powers.
That's great!
I've already had my version of the kids: the elder is called Selene, She's a very tall girl, she reaches 7' as an adult and has blue hair (I took that detail from Frank Miller's Lara. I found it interesting, but they are not the same) and is 12 years older than her brother, Aster, who's height will be 7'4" (An entire foot taller than his dad). Coincidence: the initials of each name are the same as yours, S for the girl and A for the boy. Due to their uniqueness and towering above every other kid, they don't have a secret identity, because it would've been impossible to sustain. Their parents ditched their own secret identities a few years before having kids, because it seemed ridiculous and a waiste of time and effort. Besides, Clark Kent and Diana Prince together looked an awful lot like Superman and Wonder Woman together. No matter how much they hunch.
The children look more or less like this:
Selene (kryptonian name Lena-El. Lena: 'full moon' in Kryptonese)
Tumblr media
Aster (Kypronian name: Ter-El. Ter: 'morning star' in Kryptonese)
Tumblr media
Those are their "working" attires as Suprema and Starburst. Their birth was possible, in part, thanks to magic, because Diana is a being of magic, that's what made them so special. They don't have magic powers, even though Selene inherited her mother's universal empathic abilities.
Note: I've chosen the name Aster for the boy before we all knew of a hero named "Asteria" in Themysciran history, thanks to the WW84 movie. I'm glad everything clicked in the end.
Both kids practice martial arts. Terran and Kryptonian: Kung Fu, Karate, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu jitsu, Grecorroman wrestling, Torquasm Vo, Horu Kano and Klukor. Their mother insisted on it. They also have weapon training: sword, spear (hand held and throwing), bolas, knife (hand held and throwing), axe, etc. Diana wanted them to be prepared for anything in case they adopt their parents responsibilities as protectors of the planet and solar system. Kal thought it would be a wonderful and useful idea. Same as Cato Fong, from "The Pink Panther" movies, Diana suggested they engage in surprise attacks of each other, to test their readiness for any eventuality. She herself surprises her kids every once in a while. The children found this game hilarious and adopted it gladly.
The children embraced their parents protective tasks, because they fell in love with the planet. No so much with people, but they could see the potential of humanity. The words of grandpa Jor resonated in their ears: "They are good people. They wish to be. For this reason, above anyother else, I sent you, my only child to them. In time, they will meet you in the sun." The children wanted to honor their grandpa words. As their parents, they think of themselves as a team. Even with the difference in age, family and friends started calling them "the Star Twins".
Their uniqueness made it difficult to find couple. They found themselves looking for companion from other worlds. In one excursion to outer space, the now 18 years old Aster crossed paths with Queen Maxima. She hasn't aged a day since the days she made his father's life hell. She looked at the boy admiringly. He just saw a very beautiful ginger who seemed to be slightly older than him.
Maxima: My, my...you must be Kal-El's son. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. It became a taller tree, I see.
Aster: Hi, I'm Ter-El. I'm the son of Kal-El and Diana, now Queen Diana of Themyscira.
Maxima: Yeah, yeah. The Amazon. I hope they are alright -She added devoid of sincerity.
Aster: My dad told us about you. You were a bad kitty back then, weren't you, your Majesty?
Maxima: There's some truth in that. I'm not proud of my behavior in those days. I was a young, spoiled new queen. Smitten by your handsome father. I can admit it now.
Aster: I've done some searching. As it appears, you are a good queen for your people...
Maxima: I'd like to think so. I would invite you to Almerac to see for yourself, but I doubt your parents would aprove.
Aster: I can make my own decisions. And I find it interesting the chance of an alliance between our planets.
Maxima: Oh! How so?
Aster: Your Majesty: my sister and I now happen to be the appoined protectors of our solar system . With all the threats coming from everywhere in space, say...Darkseid, Mongul, Imperiex, Braniac (Dad deactivated him last time they fought, but with his ability to transfer his program and intelligence to any AI in the vecinity, you can't be absolutely sure).
Maxima: Good thinking, young one. Better safe than sorry. The invitation remains open. You can come to visit...with your sister, if you want.
Aster: I'm making a mental note of it. I can't say how good a monarch you are, but I can see that you are a very charming one, Majesty.
Maxima: Stop with that Majesty nonsense! Your family and I have history! Your father was part of the nobility of Krypton, the twelve important families. Please call me Maxima. Ter-El, right?
Aster: No, no! My father was the son of a farmer on Earth...
Maxima: I'm not talking of his life on your backwater planet. If Krypton would still be here, Kal-El would be attending meetings at the Supreme Council, like his father. How do you think he got the means for an interstellar ship to save your father? When I wanted to have an offspring with Kal-El, I did some research also.
Aster: That's certainly something to consider, Your Ma...xima.
Maxima: "Your Maxima..."? Crude, but it's a start.
Aster: Sorry for asking, Maxima: Did you solve the matter of your offspring and heritage?
Maxima: Yes, I have a son. About your age. One of my suitors, Saphron, son of High Father, made that gift to me before he passed away in an attack by the Furies. The name of my son is Taximon. Autentication of his lineage was a complete nightmare. High Father wanted me to renounce in his name to any claim to the throne of New Genesis. He's a strong an intelligent young man. I'm very proud of him. He's pretty much like you...not as tall, though.
Aster was watching every curve of Maxima's bodacious anathomy. He was familiar with the term "cougar". The queen filled all the specifications and his hormones were running rampant.
Aster: Maxima: I won't take much more of your time. It was a pleasure to have met you, and I'll serously consider an educational visit to Almerac when possible.
Maxima (seductively): Education may take many forms. It could be surprising. I will strive to surprise you. She made a gesture for him to bow and planted a kiss on his cheek. The scent of her skin was intoxicating. Aster almost pass out but managed to control himself.
Aster: I'm looking forward to be surprised by you, my queen.
Maxima: I'm sure you have in store some hidden gems yourself, Ter-El. Be seeing you soon.
Aster (mesmerized): Soon...
On the opposite side of the trading hall where the guests mingle, Selene was trying to get to know people of other worlds in order to struck deals and forge alliances. She was fascinated by the diversity, but she didn't see anyone of her liking to bond more closely. Unlike her baby brother, she wasn't a newbie in relationships. She still remembers her first time, during the 18th birthday of Billie Batson. She was 20 at the time and the young Shazam made quite an impression on her. He kept calling her "Glamazon", which, for some stupid reason, amused her. He wasn't too tall, but tall enough, she thought. In the apex of the party, they disappeared, to come back 45 minutes later, with their hair all messy and not looking at each other for a while. They repeated their encounters for a while, until the novelty wore off.
She descarded to find a Billie in all this alien multitude, but she was hopeful and open to possibilities.
Stranger: Hello. My name is Abar-tos. I'm from Daxam. I believe you are Kryptonian, aren't you? (looking at the symbol on her chest) Ah, House of El. My planet and that of your ancestors used to trade in goods and technology. We knew Jor-El very well as a commerce representative. He was honest and friendly.
Selene: He was my grandfather. Unfortunately, he passed away when the planet blew, but managed to save my father as a baby on a ship to the stars. I always wanted to know what happened to the rest of the system where the star Rao was the center, when Krypton blew.
Abar: It was a disaster!! The gravitational forces were all askew. For a while it was hard to tell up from down. The debris impacted Daxam causing earthquakes and tsunamis. thousand of lives were lost. Fortunately, our leaders were levelheaded and acted swiftly. Ironically, we used the same technology we aquired from Krypton to minimize the damage and shield Daxam from the pieces of Krypton. It took twenty years before the orbit became stable again. There was two more planets between Krypton and Daxam. One was completely destroyed, the other broke orbit and became a rogue planet. Those worlds were uninhabited, but their loss messed the situation of the system. Our scientists developed solar sails to stir the globe In the right direction. The molten core rotation was restarted to correct the magnetic fields. It was an enterprise of planetary proportions. I'm making it sound easy, but it's been decades of struggle and uncertainty. We had the help of many of the worlds which's ambassadors you can find here today. We still can't believe it. For a while my people even considered moving to another planet, but the Daxaforming of another globe would take generations to be viable.
Selene: Are you conscious that, if Rao wasn't a red star, you may have developed superpowers like we both have here, under a white star, and solve the problems with your own hands.?
Abar: We discovered the beneficial effects of a yellow or white sun too late. We consider ourselves lucky of still have a homeplanet. We are continuously working to solve the problems that still exist. I promise I stop talking about Daxam. Sorry, I didn't hear your name, miss...?
Selene: Forgive my lousy manners. (extending her hand) Lena, Lena-El
Abar (smiling and shaking her hand): A pleasure to meet you, Lena. Can I buy you something to drink so we can continue our talk and get to know each other better? Not always I have the fortune of encounter a beautiful girl who towers a head above me. Can we go to another place? Here, near the landing docks there's too much lead from the ship's fuel. We Daxamites have low tolerance to lead.
Selene: I say we go to grab something to eat and drink and go for a pic-nic in the surrounding parks. If you have time, that is.
Abar: Magnificent idea! Love a woman with beauty and brains.
And just like that they lift from the ground together and flew to their destination.
She couldn't help feeling butterflies in her gut. She thought: He's probably ten years my senior, but he'scute, articulate and has a mellifluous voice. Score, Lena!
James gave a light knock on Anais' office door and stepped inside, wearing a bigger smile than usual. Of course, ever since he put Snapper in his place - leaving both men to their respective job roles - who wouldn't be happy?
"What can I do for you Mr. Boss?" Anais pushed her chair closer to her desk, putting her hands on her desk.
"I just sent a reporter to the Children's Hospital new building to see what we can get for an article so I need the pictures to go along with it."
"Oh, great!" Anais winced when she heard her own words. "Not like that! I meant — I'm happy to take the assignment before I lose my mind!"
James chuckled. "I take it Winn is still fixing your suit, then?"
Anais glared at nothing in particular but it was a deep glare nonetheless. "Yup," she muttered and got up from her chair.
Winn had kept his word about not letting her go out in the field until she told the DEO — primarily J'onn, Kara and Alex — about Cadmus' threat. It drove Anais up the wall that she wasn't able to convince him otherwise and the use of the physical threats was no good either as she would have to explain to everyone else why she suddenly decided to kill their friend. So, until she decided to tell the truth, Winn was basically holding her suit hostage.
To everyone else, he was just mending her suit.
"And how's Mon-El doing?" James curiously asked since he hadn't stopped by the DEO in a while. He only knew what he was told.
"Kara and him are learning to get along-ish," Anais said, "And we're testing Mon-El's abilities too. See what he can and can't do. He's not leaving the DEO for a while, I'm assuming. Poor guy must be going crazy too."
J'onn had given the order to test Mon-El in every possible way to deduce the danger he could post if left unsupervised. Winn was put in charge of monitoring him and recording the results to later discuss together.
Anais could only imagine the frustration Mon-El would be feeling soon since he'd already been cooped up in the DEO for days now and training since then. Maybe she could help in some way, she thought before leaving the office.
Anais walked down the street before the hospital site, adjusting her clothes and hair since she'd basically sped there from CatCo. As she approached the site, she began to smell the after scent of burnt rubber and metal, along with the horrible sight of the crumbled hospital.
"Oh, what happened here?" She stopped in front of the yellow tape keeping civilians away.
"Aliens happened," a familiar voice answered. Anais whipped her head to the right and saw Lena Luthor approaching her.
"Miss Luthor," Anais smiled politely, "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Yeah," Lena nodded. "No one expects to see a Luthor at accident sites unless they caused it." There was a brief moment of silence before she added, "And just so we're clear, I didn't cause this."
"I didn't think you did," Anais clarified for the woman's sake. "So what is Miss Luthor doing here, though?"
"Please, it's just Lena, I told you," the black-haired woman sighed. "And I was one of the investors of this building. It was brand new when it was destroyed."
"Millions of dollars lost, I assume," Anais gazed at the crumbled building. She could still see some leftover melted medical equipment peeking from under the walls.
"Oh please, it's not about the money," Lena set her hands on her hips. "This building was built because the first hospital was getting overcrowded. Now the children that did survive this, had to return to the first hospital."
Anais pulled her camera in front of her eyes and snapped a picture. "What happened to the building?"
"Your reporter hasn't come to you yet?" Lena nodded to the young CatCo. Reporter talking to a cop at the moment.
"Nope, I just got here, remember?"
"Well, we don't know much but we assume it was aliens judging by the mass strength of whatever hit the walls. Plus, some of the records from the kids say they saw hooded people."
"Ah," Anais started walking a bit to get better angles of the building. "Which could mean it was a regular human crime scene."
"But they didn't steal anything," Lena countered. "They just came in to destroy."
"Well, sometimes people don't need reasons to do something," Anais lowered her camera to see Lena giving her a look. "What?"
"I'm assuming you're like Kara in that you both share pro-alien opinions," Lena crossed her arms.
Anais gave a shrug of her shoulders. "Well, what's wrong with that?"
"Nothing. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and thoughts," Lena looked ahead at the building again.
"It's so refreshing meeting someone like you," Anais chuckled. She felt her phone buzzing and picked it out from her pocket. "Oh, gotta go. It was nice seeing you, though. Wouldn't mind doing this again."
Surprise etched across Lena's face, making her dark eyebrows simultaneously raise. "Really?"
Anaís paused after taking another picture to see Lena's expression. "What?"
Lena smiled warmly. "Not a lot of people would say that. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard that."
"You're nice and you're badass, so...yeah, I'd like to see you around," Anaís chuckled. "You're doing what I'm doing and, as I've said, I admire that."
Lena's smile widened, clearly beaming at the chance of a second friend. She hadn't admitted it but she liked to believe she was friends with Kara Danvers too. "Okay then, you're welcome at L-Corp anytime."
"Cool," Anaís beamed then. "Now I gotta run for real. See you around." She hurried past Lena to get going because if she wasn't at the DEO in the next five minutes, she was sure Arun would come for her himself.
~0~
"Again!" Arun shouted the order without hesitance.
A blonde speedster whipped past him in circles, repeatedly, until she would come to a stop and attempt to throw a lightning bolt she was meant to create during her run. Just as Anaís was about to throw her bolt, it shattered in her palms..
"Dammit!" she growled and glanced back at Arun who stood at the end of the room with his hands behind his back and no emotion on his face.
"Again!" he simply commanded once more.
She sucked in a breath and took off again. She'd been doing this for more than an hour now with no such luck. Arun silently watched as she sped in circles - a long circle too - to see exactly where she was going wrong. He never felt the visitors coming into the room, much less Anaís.
"Woah, that is awe and some!" Mon-El's cheer startled Anaís and caused the speedster to trip over her own feet. She came hurtling into a wall, face first. She groaned and turned on her back to glare at Mon-El then Arun and Winn for not warning her.
"Two things," Winn made a motion for Mon-El to listen, the latter even nodding his head to show him that he was indeed listening. "One: never sneak up on a speedster, especially when she's throwing lightning. And two: it's just 'awesome'. You got to put those two words together and you'll be golden."
"Awesome," Mon-El tested the word out and felt like it did sound better put together. He then looked over to Anaís who was getting back on her feet. "And sorry. Just thought that whole…" His fingers wiggled in the air as he attempted to mimic what she'd been doing, "...the whole lightning thing was cool…"
"You taught him the word 'cool' already?" Anaís dusted her legs off. Winn grinned. "Of course you did."
"If you three are finished talking, Anaís has a lot more practice to do," Arun spoke up with an air of annoyance. He knew well that they had a new alien amongst the DEO but he hadn't actually talked to Mon-El.
"Are you the other Solista?" Mon-El asked, though he was sure of the answer by the looks of his beam. "You got the whole lightning thing down, I assume?"
"Since I was a teenager. Child's play, really," Arun said plainly, shooting Anaís a look that meant to point out she was extremely behind. For that, Anaís looked down.
"W-well, I mean, it is lightning we're talking about," Winn purposely glanced at Anaís in hopes of lifting her spirits. "It takes a while to practice when it's the first try. I-I'm assuming."
Anaís smiled softly at him. She appreciated his attempt to help her out…until she remembered what he was doing with her suit.
"Yes, when we're teenagers," Arun brokered the silence without realizing it. "But Anaís is twenty three now."
"Okay, can we just call it a day with the training?" Anaís decided it was for the better lest Arun wanted a lightning bolt thrown at him instead of the practice dummy. "I'll continue tomorrow."
"Your call," Arun shrugged. "You wanna go get lunch?"
"No, I can't. Supergirl's waiting for me. We have a lead on that dead alien we found in the back of a car."
"Alright then, until tomorrow," Arun said and started heading out. He suddenly stopped though by the doorway and glanced back. "Oh, and Winn, the suit seems to be working fine right now." He made a gesture at Anaís' regular DEO suit she was wearing. "Have you finished mending it?"
"Nope," Winn replied without a second thought, even wearing that big smile Anaís was beginning to hate. "Still got kinks to figure out."
Arun nodded and walked out of the room.
"It doesn't have any kinks!" Anaís shouted after he was fully gone. "You're just purposely keeping it away from me!"
"Me? What?" His pretense sarcasm only made her even more mad. "Never."
"I'll kill you," Anaís warned but all Winn did was ask Mon-El if he wanted to continue practicing. With a shake of her head, she left the room and went to find Alex and Supergirl in the control room. "Anything on our alien perp?" Anaís stopped by them.
"Yes, actually," Kara motioned to Alex, "Alex was just telling me what the lab found."
"The thorn found in the dead body is from a Brevakk. Some sort of biological defense mechanism," Alex explained. "So, yeah, that's new and terrifying."
"Don't suppose there's any ideas where we can find him?" Anaís tried her luck.
"Turns out there's exactly one Brevakk registered in National City for the President's Alien Amnesty Act," Alex moved on over to an empty computer. She pulled up the profile of said alien. "And we got the address ready to go."
"Alright, so what's our first step?" Anaís looked between the more experienced women.
"It's just a check out, so...I think we're good," Alex's words surprised both aliens. "I got someone in mind I'll take."
"Are you sure?" Kara raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry," Alex waved her off, really smiling like she meant it. "She's good, trust me." And with that cryptic description, she left.
"You want to train, then?" Kara asked Anaís once they were on their own. Anaís groaned and covered her face. "What?" Kara looked around in case anyone knew what she said wrong.
"I just finished a round with Arun and I didn't get it right."
"You mean the lightning bolt thing?"
"Yes!"
"When we agreed that he would train me, I didn't know Arun would be one of those uptight 24/7 trainers!"
Kara chuckled.
"And he won't get off my back for my pathetic attempts to create and throw a lightning bolt!"
"Don't get so worked up about it, remember how long Barry said it took him?"
"Yeah, but... he's a metahuman and I'm an alien. It's in my biology to get it!" Anaís exclaimed particularly loud enough to draw some attention.
Kara, in particular, was giving her a look. "Some funny words you used there." Anaís dropped her hands to her sides and looked back. "Sounds like something Arun would say." She'd come to learn that Arun's 'words of encouragement' were not so light. They seemed like backhanded insults instead.
"Well, he kind of did, and he's right. It's in my biology to get it and I'm taking longer than a kid would!"
"Okay, maybe you need to reel it back a little," Kara brought Anaís to the side so they could speak better. "You may be a speedster with incredible strength but you still need practice and you know that. I know you know that."
"Yeah, I know…" Anaís sighed.
"Then why don't you let Arun know that? He's the one that needs to reel it back a lot more." Kara suspected Arun was the one putting more pressure on things than Anaís really thought. "He's a hard coach, and maybe a good one, but a hard one nonetheless. He wants you to do exactly what he did and that's not gonna happen."
"Because I'm only half a Solista?"
"No, because you're you and you're different. Everyone is. So c'mon, let's go train nice and easy."
Anaís finally agreed and followed Kara to their training room meant just for them. They trained for about an hour before J'onn called them back to the control room. Alex had returned but not with good news. Their lead on the dead alien had been whisked away by a group of men in a suspicious can.
"Do we know who the men in the van were?" J'onn asked Alex, and the woman shook her head.
"No. But these weren't low-rent thugs. They were definitely combat-trained. They mean business."
"So do we. Or have you forgotten about that?" J'onn's snark startled all three women.
"Hey, what's with the grumpy?" Alex finally noted. "Today and yesterday. Is everything all right, J'onn?"
"I appreciate the concern, but I assure you, I'm fine."
"Don't make us pout," Alex nodded to Kara beside her.
"They're surprisingly good at it," Anaís admitted being victim to it a couple of times.
J'onn knew they would never let it be so it was better to get it out in the open. "I am not the last Green Martian. There is another. Her name is M'gann. Megan."
"It's a miracle, J'onn," Kara's eyes widened.
"I met her at that alien bar Alex spoke of. We talked, but... I think I made a mistake."
"Why do you say that?" Anaís asked. "What happened?"
"I offered to merge with her in the Martian way."
"But you guys just met…" Kara trailed off, thinking of something else.
"Psychically, Kara. The bond is the traditional Martian way of communicating. We...we link minds, share dreams, emotions, memories. We kept no secrets from one another. Imagine a world without ego, selfishness. Without... lies."
"That sounds beautiful."
"She didn't seem to think so. The moment I talked about it, she left. I am grateful to have you all in my life. I truly am. But with Martians, it's... It's different. It's deeper. Deeper than talking. Fuller. With her, there's a chance for me to live how I was meant to live."
Of course everyone there understood.
"Just tell her that," Alex encouraged him to go for a second attempt. "Why don't you try apologizing?"
J'onn seemed to be encouraged enough.
The night brought Alex and detective Sawyer to an illegal fight club that ended up in catastrophe. Supergirl nearly had her head torn off by a large alien creature, and neither her nor the detectives had luck in capturing the ringleader of the fight club. It did, however, leave them with a new clue that could lead the DEO to capturing the culprits.
It also led to a new wave of anger inside a certain Solista.
Mon-El had just failed to conjure up heat vision on a piece of cement when Anais came storming in.
"No heat vision, no x-ray vision…" Winn was recording the results on his tablet for later study so he was startled when Anais used her own heat vision to destroy the piece of cement. "Hey!" Winn made a gesture but Anais looked far too upset to care.
"Kara nearly got hurt in an underground alien fight club and I couldn't do anything about it and do you know why!?" She came storming up to him, making him backtrack several steps. "Because I didn't have my suit so they didn't call me in for backup!"
"Is she okay, though?" Mon-El thought to ask if only to pull some of that attention off Winn for safety reasons.
"Yes, but she could've gotten hurt," Anais deeply sighed then set her glare back on Winn. "C'mon, Winn, enough is enough. Give me my suit back"
Winn was first and foremost relieved to see that anger fading because it decreased the chances of being heat visioned. "I'll do it as soon as you come clean to Kara and the others."
Anais' hands twitched in the air as she air-strangled him. "I'm gonna—" She started for him again.
Winn jumped back, throwing his hands in front of him. "If you kill me now, you'll never get your suit!"
Anais stopped in her tracks and dropped her hands. "I really hate you right now."
"Yeah, got that," Winn swallowed hard and moved away to put down his tablet. "But you also know why I'm doing this."
Mon-El cleared his throat to remind the two of his presence. "Can I offer my help to Kara as an alternative?"
Anais briefly smiled at him. "Thanks, Mon-El, but I don't think the DEO wants to let you go out until you've finished your examinations."
"Well, I think we have," Mon-El gestured to Winn. "Right?"
"Sort of," Winn shrugged and turned to the two. He brought his fingers up to list what they knew so far of Mon-El's abilities. "No heat vision, no X-ray vision, but you're strong."
"As strong as Kara?" Mon-El curiously asked but Winn scoffed with a great big 'Ha!'
"No, not even close. No freeze breath, which is kind of a bummer, right?" Winn glanced at Anais but she was still kind of glaring at him. "Right. No flight either, but his leaping is fantastic. I'm... I'm talking about like "tall buildings in a single bound" kinda stuff. Yeah, we...we definitely have the makings of a superhero here."
"Superhero?" Mon-El repeated. "Is that what Kara's called?"
"Yeah. You know, you...you go out there, you fight crime, save people, wear a costume…"
"Yup," Anais crossed her hands. "I'm almost there…"
"Speaking of going out there, I'm, uh... I'm going kind of crazy in here," Mon-El admitted. "I could really use some fresh air."
"Yeah, you heard Hank. I mean, you got to stay here at the DEO."
"You know, I'll bet if I were outside, I could fly like Kara and you, Anais," Mon-El put on his best smile for the blonde.
But before Anais could say anything, Winn cut in. "Nice try, buddy. No, we got to stay here. Them's the rules. I mean, I'm new here. I'm trying to make a good impression."
"Failed!" Anais dramatically exclaimed, much to his annoyance. And because she saw his annoyance, she decided to go on ahead and make it worse. Screw being an adult, she shamelessly thought. "And you know what, Mon-El? I'll take you out."
Mon-El looked deeply surprised at the easy give in. "You will?"
Even Winn had the same reaction. "You will?"
"Yup!" Anais grinned from side to side. "I don't think it'll do any harm. But you gotta listen to me, alright?"
Mon-El was now almost grinning like Anais was. "Of course!"
"Anais y-y-you can't do that," Winn started wagging his finger, but by that point it was too late. "You're gonna get in trouble!"
"Feel free to join us, if you're so worried," Anais patted his arm.
"But I - but we can't!" Winn practically shouted in the room while Anais and Mon-El started leaving. He tried to stay put and just let the two aliens figure it out on their own how big of a mistake this would be, but…
He scrunched his face. "Damn you, Anais Allen-Mjorkland. I'm so weak." And he took off to catch up with them.
~ 0 ~
Mon-El didn't know anything about Earth but that didn't stop him from learning in one night. Especially when Anais introduced him to the cellphone.
"I gotta get me one of these!" Mon-El laughed after Anais showed him the search engine for bars.
"I'm sure we can arrange that," Anais tucked her phone into her back pocket and led the way to the bar across the street. "Maybe a small computer for the time being. Or a tablet!"
"You can't make promises like that," Winn trailed behind her, still unable to believe she was pulling this off.
"It's a computer with restricted WiFi," she reminded him that it wasn't a big deal. "Now let loose and have some fun, if you're capable of that anyways."
Winn stopped just by the doorway with a look of offence. "Excuse me?"
Anais smirked with Mon-El. They both knew they'd gotten him now.
"You heard me," Anais crossed her arms and watched as Mon-El went to open the doors for them. "Can you have some fun, Winn Schott?"
"And I continue to be weak," Winn scrunched his face in defeat while Anais yanked him inside the bar.
"Did I ever mention you're my absolute favorite alien in the whole DEO?" Mon-El said to Anais, making the woman laugh. "You are! Totally are!"
Winn did not agree with the sentiment and he definitely did not agree when they somehow found their way to the bar counter. Mon-El was introduced to human alcohol very quickly and he learned that it tasted really good. Anais monitored how much he drank but did let him experiment how much he could tolerate. She figured if anything went wrong she could speed him out of there in less than a second. But so far, he just seemed intent on mingling with the other humans and discovering what human men do for fun.
"Why do you guys like to arm wrestle so much?" Anais wondered out loud and reached for her own drink on the counter. Mon-El had just defeated his third opponent.
"He's cheating," Winn's flat tone made Anais laugh.
"Then go stop him or...have a drink and join him," Anais slid his untouched drink to him. "You can watch him while you're closer."
Winn knew his options were very limited here, and so with a small glare he picked his drink up and got up from his stool. He could hear Anais's second round of laughter while he walked away. She would not win forever, he thought.
Anais took refuge at the bar counter with the only other female in that place. As the hours ticked by, all the other customers started getting more and more annoying, in Anais' perspective. Mon-El had gone past arm wrestling and moved on to good old fashioned drinking challenges, most notably beer pong. But, to his credit, he had somehow gotten Winn to join in.
"Amazing," she huffed while she went for another drink. The two men ended up becoming more buddies than they had been earlier. Now she had become the third wheel. "Men are idiots."
"Tell me about it," the bartender mused when she walked by Anais.
Anais soon learned that, just like herself and Kara, Mon-El could actually not get drunk. However, Winn most definitely could. While they entered a series of drinking games, somehow Winn ended up winning most of them.
"Oh my God, he's a drinker," Anais said with a laugh as she and Mon-El watched Winn go at it against another fellow bar customer. They had a line of shots they needed to get through.
"So, you don't get drunk here?" Mon-El was curious as he gazed at his newly filled cup of beer.
"The earth stuff isn't strong enough for you guys," Anais shrugged, crossing her arms.
Mon-El picked up on her word choice and glanced at her. "How about you?"
"I'm half human, Mon-El. I don't get granted all the perks of a Solista. Don't get me wrong, it takes me way longer to get drunk than an average human but in the end, I can still get drunk."
"Have you ever tested the theory out of how many glasses it takes?" Mon-El offered her his glass of beer, making her laugh.
"My parents would kill me," she said, pushing his glass back to him. "They're humans and they don't really care how alien I am. I cannot drink when I'm supposed to be on business matters."
"I know I'm not from here but is this business?" Mon-El gestured towards the scene. Winn had just won another round of shots.
A smirk crossed Anais' face. "My business, anyways." It was Mon-El's turn to laugh.
A short time later, Mon-El had entered another wrestling match. He'd won every single one but the last man he went up again ended up with a broken elbow.
The man, angry, tried punching Mon-El but then broke his hand as well. His buddy went to fight Mon-El for support yet the Daxamite easily won as well with a simple 'push'. The human man crashed into a table behind them.
Mon-El was overly surprised with his strength but the other men had grown furious.
"Time to go!" Anais hopped off her stool after the strangers had met face to face with a glass table — another accident on Mon-El's part. She scurried through the group - possibly using her alien strength to push some of the men away - and got her two idiots out of there.
By the Anais returned home, she expected to find a dark apartment most certainly not Kara wide awake in the living room.
"Where were you?" Kara noticed Anais' disheveled appearance.
"One could say babysitting...or one could say proving a point," Anais fixed herself and released a deep breath. "Beginning to think my plan backfired and it was more of the first then the latter."
Kara couldn't and honestly didn't want to try and understand what all that meant. There were more pressing matters to deal with anyways.
"What are you doing up so late anyways?" Anais pulled her jacket off and headed for the couch chair. "I thought Kara Danvers always has a timely bedtime set up." Kara playfully rolled her eyes but even the playfulness faded very quickly. Anais noticed it and knew that the Kryptonian was worried and/or upset. "Kara, what is it?"
Kara hesitated to speak but after a moment of thinking, she figured it was better Anais knew now in case something happened later.
Veronica Sinclair - aka Roulette - was a formidable human enemy to the DEO. She proved herself last night when Supergirl made a visit to her and Sinclair only retaliated with confident words knowing she would not be defeated that night.
Kara now relayed her visit to J'onn, Alex and Anais (again). "I should've heat vision'd that stupid champagne glass out of her hand," Kara balled her fists on her sides.
"That's what she wanted," Anais offered a different perspective on the matter. She'd gotten over her anger last night when Kara had told her. "Supergirl heat visions local human and the media has a field day with that."
Kara gave her points on that, but it didn't stop her from wishing she could've used her heat vision. "I mean, do you think Sinclair is right about this? That she's the only one who can offer something to aliens?"
"Not a chance," Alex answered instantly.
"But then how do you stop them from letting themselves be used and exploited?"
"By offering something more powerful than fear," J'onn settled things and glanced at Winn at his desk. "Winn?"
"Nothing!" The man in question startled awake — his hand holding an ice bag on the side of his slipped and he nearly hit his head on the desk. "I'm not hungover! You're the one being defensive!"
Anais barely hid her smile from the others while J'onn approached a hungover Winn.
"Agent Schott—"
"S-sir, yes, s-sir!" Winn dangled a hand at the front of his forehead. "Er, Mon-El is doing great, by the way. He's here in the DEO. He's here. Did you know his heart is on the other side?"
J'onn gave a nod of his head. "That's absolutely fascinating. You know, the DEO received reports this morning of a six-foot alien attacking two men in a bar last night."
Anais' own smile faded upon learning that.
"The news is so very violent these days…" Winn briefly said as he slowly turned his chair back to his desk.
"Apparently this alien had a 5'2" sidekick—"
Winn jumped out of his chair, leaving it to spin from the force just to shout, "I am 5'9!"
"No, wait," Anais slid in between the two men with her hands raised in front of her, "This one's on me. I'm the one who took Mon-El out. Winn actually tried stopping me several times."
"Anais, why'd you do that?" Alex moved forwards with the same questionable face as J'onn.
"Because sometimes I'm an idiot," Anais answered with the simplest of shrugs. "But this was totally on me."
"You know better," J'onn snapped unexpectedly. "Everything we do is under a microscope. We work so hard to make humans trust us. All it takes is for one alien to ruin it for all of us."
Anais' eyes had slowly widened while J'onn scolded her. "I-I didn't mean to do that…"
"You should've thought about it!"
Alex exchanged looks with Kara, both agreeing J'onn was projecting his fight with M'gann on Anais. "J'onn, why don't we go talk somewhere else," Alex held onto his arm and persuaded him to walk with her.
"I'm really sorry," Anais said to Kara and Winn afterwards. "I wasn't meaning to do that. I was just...I was mad at you," she made a languid gesture at Winn, which didn't surprise him. "And I have to apologize to Mon-El too."
As she left, Kara briefly stopped by Winn to ask, "What's she mad at you for?"
"It's...it's just better if I hold off on that," Winn made the call thinking Anais would want to explain it herself once she got the courage to actually accept that CADMUS was looking into her.
Kara caught up with Anais in the hallway, and while Anais didn't exactly say why she was mad with Winn, Kara got the jist that it'd been a long argument now.
Anais led the way into Mon-El's training room where the man was currently doing his training. When he saw Kara, he assumed he was in trouble for the previous night.
"I'm sorry," he immediately said but Anais raised a hand to stop him.
"You're good, I'm the one who screwed up."
Mon-El blinked. "You were?"
"Yes," Anais sighed. "I was basically trying to stick it to Winn and I ended up using you. It was very wrong of me."
"Well…" Mon-El bobbed his head, "I've done worse, believe me. But this has helped me realize something neither of you told me about." Anais exchanged a glance with Kara, both confused of what he meant. "Hank told me I needed to stay here because it wasn't safe. But he didn't mean for me. He meant it wasn't safe for humans. From me."
"Listen, we've all been through that," Anais spoke up first and received an agreeing 'mhm' from Kara beside her. "I was taken in by human parents when I was a kid and just got my freedom a couple months ago. The government didn't want to let me out because they were afraid I'd hurt someone."
"After I first got to Earth, I went to my junior prom and Scott Klein asked me to dance. I stepped on his foot and I broke three of his toes," Kara shared her embarrassing yet meaningful story. "It's just gonna take some time to get used to having these abilities and...and living in this world."
Mon-El appreciated both women trying to make him feel better and even showing sympathy for him, but he was especially thankful towards Kara considering their respective backgrounds. "I know it's not easy for you to be nice to me, Kara. Where I'm from and all."
"That's not why I've been standoffish. And don't say I haven't been," Kara sighed and dug her hands into her back pockets. "My parents gave me so much. And I was so loved. My dad was a scientist and my mom fought for justice. They were proud, strong people. Good Kryptonians and even better parents. And that's the way I want to remember them."
"And why shouldn't you?"
"Because...they weren't perfect. And no matter how smart they were, or how hard they tried, they couldn't save us."
"Yeah, you never met my parents. They weren't exactly role models," Mon-El shook his head.
"But mine saw the end of the world coming, and didn't do anything about it!"
"Hey, it's not...it's not your parents' fault. It's not even Krypton's fault. Okay, we shared a star, that's all. I promise that I will do as I'm told from now on."
"And I promise not to be a manipulative bitch," Anais raised her hand but then pointed a warning finger at Mon-El. "Don't repeat that."
"Repeat what?" Mon-El blinked with genuine oblivion. He wasn't up to speed with curse words yet. "Anyways, I heard you survived Draaga." Kara nodded. "I once saw him fight on Warworld when I was, uh, guarding the royal family. Draaga took a blade to the right leg. It hit a nerve cluster. He's favored his left ever since."
The new piece of information was enlightening for Kara. "Thank you."
A couple hours later, the group got word that J'onn was missing. The only known person who'd seen him was M'gann and since she hadn't shown up for her shift it led Alex to conclude J'onn was taken by M'gann's boss: Sinclair.
"The fightclub was cleared out," Supergirl returned to the DEO very put out from her failed trip. "It's like it was never there."
"And there's no sign of where they went?" Anais curiously asked since she'd once again been planted at a chair instead of the field.
"No," Supergirl crossed her arms and thought about it for a minute.
"Okay, so where are we going to find them now?" Alex leaned against a table, trying not to look so frustrated even if she was.
"I bet that fight club has a list of recurring invitees and I think we may know one invitee in particular," Supergirl's suggestion made Anais jump from her chair.
"I'm coming! It involves no actual fighting therefore no need for super suit!"
She practically led the way to Lena's office. Kara understood her since Anais hadn't come out to the field in weeks now. She'd feel antsy too if she was cooped up (which then led Kara to feel even more sympathy for Mon-El).
"Excuse me, you can't go in there!" Lena's assistant failed to stop Anais and Kara from barging into Lena's office. "I swear I just blinked and they got right past me!" the poor woman did her best to explain to Lena before she was fired.
Lena, for her matter, was quite surprised at the sight.
"Lena, I'm sorry," Kara apologized first and foremost. "We just need to talk to you."
"Not her fault," Anais jerked a thumb at the secretary.
Lena's calm smile was a sight of relief for the two aliens. "Jess, will you make a note downstairs that Kara Danvers and Anais Allen are to be shown in right away whenever possible?"
Jess was surprised but since it meant she wasn't going to be fired she dutifully noted it and hurried out of the office.
"Woah, thanks," Anais beamed.
"So, how can I help?" Lena gestured for them to come sit down.
"We think a friend of mine has gotten involved in something shady," Kara's excuse was met with a light scoff from Lena. "It's an actual friend, we swear. And he's missing."
Lena got serious fast and nodded for her to continue.
"Do you know of a woman named Veronica Sinclair? She caters to people in your, um, your circles. Tight dresses, tattoos like Lisbeth Salander?"
Lena pursed her lips and played with a pen on her desk. "Yeah, I know Roulette. We went to boarding school together. I never liked her."
"We share the sentiment," Anais nodded. "We need to find her. And since her little fight clubs are mobile, we need to know where she's holding the next fight."
Lena seemed at a cross of amusement and impression. "And you assume I'm on the invite list?"
"Your last name is pretty famous," Anais shrugged.
"We wouldn't ask if we had any other option," Kara promised Lena as a last means to get her to talk.
Luckily for them, Lena was a smart, kind woman. "I'm a Luthor, of course I'm invited to her little pop-up. Not that I'm interested in her type of entertainment." She wrote down the location of the next fight club and handed it to Kara.
"Thank you. We owe you, big time," Kara tucked the paper into her purse and stood up with Anais.
"Not at all. I know you'll be there for me when the time comes," Lena offered them a genuine, friendly smile.
Together with the DEO, J'onn and even M'gann, Supergirl managed to put an end to the fight club with minimal injuries. Mon-El's tip about the Draaga came in handy to put the creature down for a bit. She was even more relieved to see J'onn patch things up with M'gann because it meant J'onn would finally have some peace.
This time Kara was the one to get home to find Anais still awake. Of course Kara wasn't surprised since Anais wanted to know the outcomes of the fight club.
"I would've stayed at the DEO but figured there was no use for me anyways," Anais shrugged at the counter where she was having a drink. "Update: I still can't do the stupid lightning bolt trick. I'm considering opening a stupid breach to find my young adoptive Dad for another training session because it is not going well."
"Arun's still too hard?" Kara assumed since Anais hadn't talked about him in a while.
"He expects too much from me," Anais sighed. "But what happened with Sinclair? Is she done for good now?"
"No," Kara ruefully answered. "Alex says Maggie got the orders to let Sinclair go and there's nothing we can do about it, not even the DEO."
"We'll get her one day," Anais assured. "So how come you're coming back late, then?"
"I…" Kara removed her glasses and set them on the counter, "...stopped by Mon-El's room to talk to him."
"What about?" Anais got up from the stool and went into the cupboards for some more wine.
"I offered to take him under my wing, basically, and show him around the city for real now."
"Yeah, because I totally screwed that up," Anais cringed at the reminder and pulled two glasses from the counter. "And the DEO is going to let you do that?"
"Yup, it's sort of what I did with you in the beginning, remember?"
"How could I forget!"
Kara smiled. "I think it'll do him some good. Plus, I can get him a job at CatCo. Maybe not as a reporter but somewhere there should be good."
"Speaking of," Anais returned to the counter with two glasses of red wine, "Your editor called about that new article you sent in. Apparently he expects your rewrite tomorrow morning."
"Mm," Kara sipped some of her wine. "May have sent him a new one earlier at his e-mail which I got off from James."
"Taking initiative," Anais pointed. "Very good. Look at you, Kara Danvers, having all your crap together. I'm jealous."
Kara chuckled and lowered her glass to the counter. "Well, maybe you can unburden yourself a little bit by telling me what you and Winn are arguing about."
"Ooh, smooth," Anais commended Kara for her easy transition but was still reluctant to go into detail about her disagreement. "But it's nothing, and you shouldn't worry about it."
"I worry when my friends aren't okay. Right now, it looks like you're not okay, so...tell me. Please?"
Anais released a small sigh. "I mean, I just don't want it to be made into a bigger deal than it is...just like Winn made it."
"Well, what is it?"
Anais put her wine glass down and prepared to spill the truth. Who knows, maybe it would be better for her. "CADMUS sent a message for me at the DEO." Kara's confused expression implied she hadn't heard that from anyone at the DEO. "Yeah, Winn caught it and showed it to me instead. Apparently, they want to use me as a fuel for their growing army. Whether or not I want to join them is not really up for debate in their perspective. They made it very clear that they were not above taking me dead."
"Oh my god," Kara said, horrified. "So how does this go to you getting mad at Winn?"
"Because he told me to tell you guys and I said no so instead of nagging me to tell you the truth, he is keeping my suit hostage until I decide to tell you the truth."
"Why wouldn't you want to tell us anything?"
"Because you guys would overreacting and keep me on lock-down like Mon-El!"
"If it was to keep you safe then why wouldn't you?"
"Because I just got my freedom, Kara. I don't want to lose it again." Anais picked up her glass but at first glance she could tell Kara was putting more thought into the situation.
"Maybe Winn's making the right call in keeping you out of the field. The less you're out there, the less chances CADMUS will find you or hurt you."
"No ma'am, not you too," Anais shook her head. "I've spent the better part of my life in seclusion. I'm not doing it again."
Kara was not aiming to argue like Anais and Winn. She would rather find an alternative that would benefit both sides. Making peace was her job, after all.
