looking to reread a fic but i can't find it with tags
Stiles has a brother who was bitten along with Scott and the other betas, Stiles leaves Bacon hills and doesn't come back after college because he doesn't feel like he belongs
the Sherif gets injured so Stiles comes back, on his way into town his brother and new beta Liam say they're picking him up, but Stiles says he has a car, and Liam gets huffy and puffy so bamf Stiles traps him in a mountain Ash circle, like a boss
and later in the fic, it's revealed that Stiles' brother stole the letter their mom left for Stiles because he was insecure and took the jeep too

After graduation, the pack's betas told Stiles that he should leave Beacon Hills. Stiles finally realised that he would never fit in with them, even though his twin brother was a part of their ranks; the realisation stung after everything he'd done for them and everything that happened to him because of them. He decided to shut them out, too, and break all ties with Beacon Hills—except for the connection to his father.
He grew up and (thinks he has) moved on, but he never lets himself get too comfortable or too close to anyone. His magical gifts flourish; he learns how to put his abilities and mind to good use, often putting himself between hunters and supernaturals. He has an alias to further separate himself from his past.
It works. It works for years. Stiles is fine.
When he finally feels like he's found his place in the world, his past comes calling for him. And he realises he might be less fine and more of a work-in-progress. He'll get there.

Two passions of mine are lists and family trees/next generations. One of my bigger gripes with the Fandom Wiki is that they will put absolutely everything to be a character category... aside from “next generation”...

some of octavius' contacts, which he will access during cases to varying degrees. he especially tends to gravitate towards those who can delve into, and subsequently unravel, things on a technological level.
CLAUDE NOSAKU,
a young man of mixed kalosian and johtonian descent. he's a gangling individual, reaching an awe-inspiring 6'6" (198cm) despite him only being the budding age of 19. originally what would be considered a “cyber-criminal,” claude had a knack for hacking even the most fortified networks from as young as 12. his hacker alias was: CYBERCRIME LIME. ccl for short, he'd often brand himself as a lime slice, and the fact that this title wasn't anything overly edgy or dark, rather silly, inspired rage in many of his opponents. his identity and subsequent location were unveiled by a team of law-abiding hackers only after he successfully tapped into, and subsequently released, a small cluster of classified interpol documentation at the age of 16.
his options for punishment were either: being in a juvenile prison or work for a strict selection of “law and order” agencies. for the past three years, he's been juggled about. people don't really trust claude, and he finds it hard to maintain his footing in interactions with peers and higher-ups.
octavius is someone he looks up to, to some degree; mostly because octavius recognises his potential (albeit in his limited technological understanding) and often calls in for his assistance. claude feels a modest sense of pride swell his chest when he's called in to help him; for once, he feels needed.
MALIA MILLIE ALANA,
an established woman in her mid-thirties, she heralds from mixed galarian, unovan, and alolan heritage. an interpol agent of relatively high standing, she can, and has, bypassed court orders in order to get access to information.
she is interpol, after all.
octavius often goes to her for tracking assistance. octavius himself is fantastic with senses of smell, and can hunt someone down based on aroma alone, but it certainly helps to have that location narrowed beyond an entire region—something which malia can do, and do well.
malia is one of the few who is aware of octavius' past. less so because he willingly divulged, but because she was part of a select interpol group dedicated to tracking down timeline anomalies. once she homed in on him, it was just a matter of wringing it out of him. while he was resistant initially, when he realised she knew more than he'd bargained for, he reluctantly admitted to it.
despite this hectic beginning, they've become close.
CHU-CHU,
chu-chu differs from the above two in the way that he's not aligned to any agency; in fact, he despises them to many degrees. chu-chu himself is what might be, derogatorily, referred to as a “street urchin.”
heralding originally from hoenn, he experienced a horrific upbringing and eventually sought escape. he eventually found himself in galar, and currently hovers around wyndon and hammerlocke. now 21 years old, he's of short stature, reaching only 4'11" (150cm), and is incredibly street smart. he has plentiful fingers to caress the criminal underbelly, and has a web of contacts within that underworld.
the reason he even works in alignment with octavius is because octavius promised not to turn him in after the two clashed during a case. but, only if he helped him out on occasion. chu-chu is very grudging to accept this, but he accepted he did. he doesn't really like being called upon by octavius, but he'll do what he needs to to keep his head away from prying eyes.

And as I literally just uploaded the latest chapter of my fic, so here are TWO snippets from two vastly different, very unfinished sterek fics that might never happen but i like the ideas of
Derek: Will I, you know, fit in?
Stiles: we’re going swimming?? Why wouldn’t you??
Derek: I don’t know
Stiles: bc you’re hearing?
Derek: Maybe, I don’t know
Stiles: I think you’re being a little bit prejudiced right now Derek
Stiles: deaf people don’t only have “deaf-people things” to talk about
Stiles: and we also don’t just know deaf people
Derek: I know
Stiles: lydia yeah she got bored with ADVANCED LATIN and decided to pick up asl right
Stiles: scott my best friend he was the one who dragged me to ASL class when I first lost my hearing because he wanted us to be able to talk like we’ve always done and he was more enthusiastic than even I was
Stiles: neither of them are deaf or partly so
Stiles: kira, Scott’s girlfriend, is legally deaf but she got hearing aids which makes her able to hear quite a lot still which makes it possible for her to talk aloud without bigger problems, and she can read lips (not jealous)
Stiles: isaacs deaf on one ear but doctors thinks he’s gonna go deaf on the other one as well so he’s learned asl to not be completely lost once he loses all hearing
Stiles: andddd malia was born deaf
Stiles: so it’s a combination Derek just like any other group of friends
Derek: But I don’t speak ASL
Stiles: and I think we managed pretty good anyway???
Stiles: and now you know how to say ‘awesome’ so like what more do you need

Derek is so taken aback, he completely loses whatever he was going to say. “Your name is Stiles Stilinski.” It’s not really a question, but Derek’s pretty sure that what his tone of voice doesn’t ask, his eyebrows does.
Stiles shrugs. “Well, long story short: Jessica Jones had a big influence on my life.”
“Your alias is Stiles Stilinski?”
Stiles grins at that, and Derek has no idea why. “Laura?” he prompts instead, eyebrow cocked.
Derek shakes himself a little. “Yes. She’s—”
Although, Stiles doesn’t seem like he wants Derek to talk because he interrupts. “She’s not your girlfriend, is she?” Stiles has put his chin between two of his fingers, and he absently bites at a third. “You two are not… romantic.”
“I love her,” Derek says flatly.
“Yes, but like a sister?”
Derek nods short. “Brother in arms, all that. Neither of us have family to speak of. We keep each other afloat back here.”
“Is it because you’re both gay?”
Derek stares at him. “I’m not gay.”
“If you say so,” Stiles replies with a hand wave. “Because she’s gay, then?”
“She’s like my sister. That’s all you need to know.”
“Ah, mhm, of course.”

Why didn't Scott return to Beacon Hills?
(Okay, so I'm just putting my thoughts out there because they would plague my mind otherwise, and movie!Scott doesn't deserve to be spared that much thought. I did like Scott's character in the series - while acknowledging the dumb shit he pulled in canon -, but I absolutely do not like movie!Scott, and yes, I'm making that distinction because this movie feels like an AU more than anything.)
In the movie, it was established that Scott hadn't been back in Beacon Hills for a long time. It was also implied that he simply didn't keep in touch with a lot of his packmates: think about the awkwardness of meeting Malia for the first time after their break up (probably years ago and then they never talked again, ouch) or how he didn't seem to know that Lydia does not use her banshee scream anymore (which makes it pretty likely that he also does not know about Stydia's break up).
Then we have this conversation between Scott and Eli:
Scott: Wow, you got really big.
Eli: Yeah, it's probably because I was only 3 the last time you saw me.
If we accept that 2014 (when Eli was 3) was the last time Scott was in Beacon Hills, then it means that Scott hasn't contacted the pack in 12 years. This might not be correct, though, as the final scene in 6B was literally a flash forward to 2015 (if I remember correctly) when the pack was still together and fighting hunters as a united force. Or the writers are once again forgetting their own canon because I doubt that Derek - with a 4-year-old son at the time - would go off picking battles and getting himself in life-threatening situations while his son is waiting for him at home. Plus I can't imagine Scott being in contact with everyone but not visiting Eli. (Sidenote: Lydia seemed pretty surprised by Derek having a son. Like she didn't know before they met him in the preserve, which is weird in my opinion. Did no one tell her? Had she not visited Beacon Hills in years, too? This pack is so scattered, I swear.)
Anyway, something must have changed in 2014 or 2015 for Scott to choose to burn all bridges and sever all connections. And I think that something was Monroe.
Monroe was formally defeated at the end of 6B but the fight didn't end there. Scott and his pack probably fought hunters on and off, while trying to stay in university and live their own lives, chasing dreams and whatnot. And if there's one thing that has always kept Scott's pack together, then that's a common enemy.
I think 2014 or 2015 was the year when the pack finally put an end to the huge wave of hunters going against their code and managed to establish some kind of peace between the two communities. It didn't mean there were no more hunters, but things returned to "normal", aka the hunters sticking to their original beliefs (hopefully). And with the end of the war came the realization that the pack no longer had a common enemy to push everyone together.
Don't get me wrong, I do think a lot of them stayed in each other's lives. They are friends, after all, and not all ties will break just because some members decided to go MIA. But without the war and the constant proximity of his pack members, Scott's old fear of being unworthy and unimportant resurfaced once again. How do I know? Because Scott seems to have an alpha complex in the movie.
Hear me out! His side job consists of saving people from collapsing buildings, and he does this hero-rescue thing so often that people have an alias for him: the Alpha. When faced with the Nogitsune, he insists on the importance of his role (the Nogitsune can't win until Scott is off the board) and he even shouts "I'm still the alpha!" while revealing what he believes is the Nogitsune's endgame.
But would an actual alpha abandon his pack for 10+ years? I mean, he isn't involved with pack business anymore and he isn't even the one defeating the Nogitsune - that job gets passed onto Parrish and Derek. And yeah, Scott's eyes might be red still, but he's no alpha of anything. He has no pack to take care of and he certainly doesn't have a territory to defend. He still desperately clings to the title, though.
So here are my thoughts on what (must have) happened: After defeating Monroe, Scott realized that he couldn't give much to the pack anymore. They didn't need his leadership, his hope, his supervision or alpha roar or anything like that. Scott was... a friend. There is nothing wrong with being just that, per se, especially with how much emphasis Teen Wolf puts on friendships, so I'm sure the others would have still loved to have Scott in their lives, supernatural threat or not. But here's the thing: Scott has always wanted to be special. Admittedly, I think a lot of us do. But it's sad to see that Scott couldn't overcome this fear of being obsolete, of being mediocre. For 15 years, he couldn't realize that his worth went beyond his alpha status, meaning that he's the main character without any character development.
He probably did come back after the first year at uni and watched Derek be happy with his son and living a quiet suburban life, no longer relying on an alpha. Malia probably broke up with him or they just parted ways somewhat awkwardly, so that was one more person who didn't need him anymore. Lydia was working on her career, busy balancing school and a relationship while she was finally out there spreading her wings. Stiles was free, too, finding his true calling. And Beacon Hills was peaceful. Certainly didn't require an alpha's intervention.
So Scott decided to look for another place where he could still be useful, where people needed him. He began to rescue dogs and people alike because that's what he knew how to do, because that was what made him feel like an alpha again.
It's too bad he didn't realize that he was already important. That he could have helped so much by just being there for his pack, for his friends.
The bottom line is: I do not like movie!Scott, not because he's OOC but because the writers didn't bother to develop his character past his high school self (I'm sure Allison and he won't have problems with picking up where they left off). And if Scott abandoned his pack, then I think this was the reason behind it. His own insecurities.

Post info dumping about my Solastas OCs cause I'm in a big DnD mood.
Alvin: Slyvain Elf, Fighter. Mainly use fire magic and fire resistance. Lost family to orcs. His family has done business with the Moltenforge smithing family. Alvin on rare occasions will ask Ealdhelm for favors, feeling indebted to him during a difficult time in his life. Former assistant to him until turned 19 to become a freelance mercenary. He and Malia have been friends since they were kids.
Malia Irisheart: Tiefling Bard (College of Hope), Alvin's childhood friend, music is a special interest of hers often worked minor jobs in order to pay for a lute with her hard-earned gold. Took to the College of Hope to bring strength to the grieving after witnessing the horrid aftermath of Alvin's loss.
Bipity Bopity: Marsh Halfling, Wizard Spy. Foul-mouthed, yet studious halfling, that was abandoned at a young age never knowing what her birth name was or if she was given one. She was taken in by a scholar of magic that taught to read and write the the spells she had come to learn over the years. Her current name is an alias that comes from an old rhyme she once heard from her teacher use to sing to her. She rarely gives out her real legally given name to others for secrecy purposes(which some might find baffling given she talks a teenager with zero filter lol).
Bjork Veilmarsh: Black Dragonborn, Barbarian Spy. Bipity's long-time colleague, equally as foul-mouthed to match his half-pint partner. Took to spy work for a decent living while still remaining out of the public eye. Mainly prefers fighting for the thrill of battle as apposed to the potential fame.
Ealdhelm Moltenforge: Hill Dwarf, Mana-Painter Sorcerer. Member of a well-established smithing family that uses their magical specialties as mana painters to offer enchanted weapons to the common folk rising from desperate times during the cataclysm. Offered Alvin a place to stay and a job after the death of Alvin’s parents before the elf took to mercenary work. Bit of an egoistic business man with a hidden soft side.
Kiana Nimblebranch: High-elf, Hive Cultist Warlock. Noble elf child who was kidnapped at a young age, groomed and brainwashed into the art of manipulation and trickery to cause as much paranoia and distrust in her wake. Is often accompanied by a swarm of bees(think of an ominous version of Annoying Bees purely for the aesthetics lol)

BACKSTORY ! allison awakens buried alive in a shallow grave , digs her way out with her bare hands and wanders until finding herself at her family home . her father is gone . isaac is gone . she takes her things , weapons , etc. and leaves , not wishing to see anyone . she is suffering from trauma , disassociation and confusion . there are also bouts of amnesia that sometimes flare up when attempting to remember faces or names for 2-3 days afterwards . allison is determined to exterminate those who harm others and to protect those who are human from other worldly threats while admitting to herself , she feels sick satisfaction when killing . it's one of the few times she's feels really alive again .

Hello, I am looking for a fic, I don’t know if it was deleted, or I just suck at searching tags.
In it Stiles has a twin Feliks, he is an awful sibling, and the Sheriff sites on the twin and is blind to what a giant arse he is. Stiles is pushed out of the pack, becomes epically BAMF, and has a group of fantastic OC’s as best friends. He has to go back to Beacon Hills for some reason and the shit hits the fan. It features bad/disloyal friend Scott, emotionally constipated Derek, and magically powerful Stiles. Stiles struggles to feel loved by his dad and even wonders if Claudia really cared about him, as she left Feliks both her special bracelet and the Jeep (which Feliks destroyed), but it turns out Feliks destroyed the letter to Stiles from her, gifting him the Jeep.
It was left saying there would be a sequel quickly to follow, but I haven’t seen the original or a sequel. Hope you can help me find it ❤️

After graduation, the pack's betas told Stiles that he should leave Beacon Hills. Stiles finally realised that he would never fit in with them, even though his twin brother was a part of their ranks; the realisation stung after everything he'd done for them and everything that happened to him because of them. He decided to shut them out, too, and break all ties with Beacon Hills—except for the connection to his father.
He grew up and (thinks he has) moved on, but he never lets himself get too comfortable or too close to anyone. His magical gifts flourish; he learns how to put his abilities and mind to good use, often putting himself between hunters and supernaturals. He has an alias to further separate himself from his past.
It works. It works for years. Stiles is fine.
When he finally feels like he's found his place in the world, his past comes calling for him. And he realises he might be less fine and more of a work-in-progress. He'll get there.
