[Daxam after the explosion of Krypton]
Someone woke you up, and you were confused when you saw the fear in the eyes of your maid. "What's happening?" She didn't have the time to reply when you both heard screams and cries. She took your hand and dragged you out of the castle.
"Ms. Y/n, Krypton exploded, and it is falling on Daxam. I need to make sure you can escape." She found a Kryptonian pod and pushed you in.
"No, Abbie, I don't want to leave you." You started to cry, "Come with me, please." You plead, but she shook her head.
"You're the princess of Daxam, miss. You have to go and survive." She hugged you and apologized, "I'm sorry, Y/N." She was crying as well.
"You can't leave me. I need you, and mom, and dad and my brother" she brushed her thumb on your cheek to calm you down, "and I'm only 5, I'll not survive without you. Please Abbie" you plead again.
"I already put data in it; it'll bring you to a planet called Earth," she kissed your forehead before starting the pod. "Don't forget, miss, you're a princess; act like one," she said as she placed her hand on the window, and you reciprocated: "Good luck, miss Y/N."
You were flying into space without saying anything.The journey should have been quick, but your pod collided with an asteroid, sending you to the phantom zone.You are imprisoned for the next 27 years before miraculously escaping.
[Earth, a town near Metropolis]
When you landed on Earth, Clark was already Superman. He found your pod when you lend and helped you, and because of him, you found a new home in this new world. The (y/l/n)s were good parents; they always wanted a new child, so when the Superman asked for their assistance, they couldn't say no.
The first years were difficult, you missed your family and Abbie too. But fortunately, you were glad to have a new big brother who was a jerk but not a Don Juan and a big sister who was always here when you needed her.
After a few years and many late-night conversations with your sister, Jessy, you decide to live a life that makes you proud. Since this moment, you were not the princess of Daxam; you were just Y/n Y/l/n, daughter of James and Kathryn (Y/l/n), and the little sister of Mike and Jessy. It was all you needed, at least before you went to high school. You met her there; she was stunning and beautiful; you couldn't count how many times you were lost in her green eyes, and her black hair, which contrasted nicely with her pale skin, was also quite nice.Her name: Lena Luthor.
After taking some advice from your friends and your siblings, you asked her out, and she accepted. You started dating one month after your first date, and three years later you married her. With her job at Luthor Corp and your job at Daily Planet, you almost have time to spend together, but you decided to have a child, you carried her, and it was the most beautiful thing in your life after Lena.Her name was Lilly; you thought it was a pretty name, and it was the minimum for your pretty princess.
Time flies, Lex has gone insane just after you and Lilly move to National City. Lois found you a job at Catco where you could work less and spend more time with your daughter. Unfortunately, that means you were not here when Lex tied your wife to a chair in his office and threatened to kill you. She was aware of your past and the fact that you were a daxamite, but she didn't mind; all she cared about was the fact that you adored her and Lilly above all else.
[Present]
It's been a while now since Lena came to Central City, and you will not lie; you were pretty glad. Lilly loves you, but she missed her other mom too. Today you decided to have lunch with your wife, and you brought your daughter. It was a little surprise to Lena, but it was a surprise for you when you knocked and opened the door to find an older woman with your wife. She looked familiar, but you couldn't tell where you saw her.
The little girl didn't hesitate and rushed to her mom to greet her with a hug, and the green-eyed woman picked her up. "Hi little princess, I missed you," she cooed, and you smiled at the interaction. She looked at you and seemed to recall something, so she cleared her throat and came to a halt beside you, kissing you and saying, "Rhea, this is my wife, and Lilly is our daughter."She introduced you. "Y/n, this is Rhea. She asked for my help on a new project." She explained, and you nodded.
You offered your hand at Reah, and she shook it. "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Rhea; I hope she'll not bother you too much," you joked, and your wife punched your shoulder. "You know that doesn't hurt me, honey," you said, and Lena rolled her eyes.
"Mommy, I'm hungry." Lilly said.
"Oh, I think it's my clue to leave." The older brunette said,
"No, you can stay and eat with us." You offered.
"Oh no, I don't want to ruin a mother-daughter moment," she said, and she pocked the cheek of the little girl, who giggled,
"You don't ruin anything, Rhea." Lena said this time,
"Don't worry, there is someone who wait for me too," she said before walking to the door. "I'll see you soon, Lena." The three of you waved your hands, and she left.
"I like her," you said. "I just hope this new project will not take all your time."
The CEO kissed your cheek this time "I promise. Now let's go to eat."
~~~~~~
After your first meeting with Rhea, the woman was always here when you visited L-Corp. It was not really bothering, she was pretty good with your daughter, and Luly seems to like her too. You were waiting for your wife that night, and you were reading a bedtime story to your little princess when she said something that caught your attention: "Mama, Mrs. Rhea, look like you." You stopped reading the story and looked at her,
"What do you mean, princess?" you asked softly,
"Yeah, she looks like you, and she looks like Mike too." You frowned your brows; you hadn't met Mike, Kara's new friend, yet. Lilly and Lena liked to say you had some common point with him, but you didn't know him. "Do you think she's from Da-Dax..." She searched for the right word, and it was cute to look at.
"Daxam, baby girl. And I don't know; I almost forgot everything about it. It's been a while you know." She nodded, "Now it's time to sleep, little princess. Tomorrow we will go to the carnival with mommy," you said, and she was so excited.
You left her bedroom when you were sure she was sleeping. You looked at the time and noticed it was late, and Lena didn't reply to your texts or your calls. You thought for a moment before calling Alex. "Hey Alex," you said when she answered the phone,
"Hey Y/n, it's late. Aren't you supposed to sleep?" She worriedly asked.
You groan "You're such a mom." And she laughed "do you know where is Lena? I tried to call her, but she didn't reply, and she didn't reply to my texts. I'm starting to worry." You admitted and you heard her sighed
"Y/N, we have a problem," she said, and you started to worry about your wife "We think she has been trapped and kidnapped by Mike's mom. But don't worry, Kara is on it."
"Where are you?" A wave of rage begins to wash over you.Alex told you where she was, you called Jessy, and she took Lilly with her for the night before you almost flew to where your friends was. When you reached the older Danvers, she was in front of a portal. She told you Kara was on the other side, and you didn't hesitate to run after her.
On the ship, you found Kara, Mike, Rhea, and an angry Superman. "What the hell?" you yelled, and every gaze was on you. "why Clark look like he's in front of a bad guy?" you asked, and the black-haired Kryptonian walked to you before he was stopped by Kara. You looked at Rhea and said, "You. Where is my wife?" You asked
"What Lena is your wife?" Mon-el said, and you focused on him.
"I saw you somewhere," you said, and some flashes from your childhood started to run in your mind. "Mon-el?" you asked, and you tilted your head. "But how? You were supposed to be dead when Krypton fell on Daxam." You were more than confused. He was about to reply when Rhea attacked you with a dagger made of lead. Thanks to your training with Clark, you successfully dodged it and attacked her back.
"Who are you?" the man  asked you.
"I'm Y/n, princess of Daxam," you said, and the room froze at your confession.
"Wait, Y/n like--" your brother wanted to say something, but Rhea cut him off,
"It's impossible," she said."My daughter died, Krypton took me my daughter," she explained, and now everything makes sense—the familiar look, the fact that Lena and Lilly always say you look like both of them.
"Mother?" you asked, and you didn't trust what you said. All this time, you thought you were the only one who survived. "But how should you be dead, both of you?" you asked, as tears streamed down your cheeks. "Wait, if you're both alive, that's mean father and Abbie too." At your sentence, Rhea was hit by a wave of guilt. Mon-El looked at her and didn't say anything.
She shook her head, and you cried harder. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm really sorry." She kept repeating it as if it would make you stop, but it didn't. And honestly, neither of them could make you feel better. You wanted to yell at them because they didn't protect Abbie, but an alarm stopped you.
"What is this?" you asked, and a guard ran to where you were before stopping and panting,
"My queen, the humans... They sent lead into the atmosphere." he announced, and the three of you widen your eyes
"What?" You said, but you didn't wait for any response before leaving the ship—thankfully, it was on top of the building. When your feet were definitely on the ground, you started to run. You had to find Lilly; she can't be exposed to the lead. Even if she was half human, she would be affected by the lead.
[North Pole, Fortress of Solitude, a few minutes earlier]
After Lena crossed the portal, Luke closed it. "What are you doing?" the young Luthor asked, but her mom didn't look at her.
"We needed to get away, and we did. Now what happens to them? That's not our problem." Lillian said nonchalantly, "But we have another problem." She said, and her daughter tilted her head with confusion, "ThisRhea sent all her army to conquer us, but we can stop her." Her voice was cold and calm, but she was a little worried, even if she didn't let it show. She is attached to Lilly, and she can't imagine what they could do to her.
"And what are your plan?"Lena asked coldly.
"We know they're weak against lead; it's their kryptonite." She took a little box "Lex had planned to use this to diffuse kryptonite in the atmosphere to kill Superman, but if you change it, it could diffuse lead." She informed her,
"And why would I do that?" The CEO scuffed,
"Because we both know you have a reason who is 4 years old and could be in danger if they found her." Lillian said,
"But my wife is a daxamite too." Lena reminded her,
"Yeah, I know, and I have something that could help her not be affected." She said casually, "So?"
Lena examined her mother and the cyborg beside her "deal."She said it quietly but enough to be heard by her mom, who now had a smile on her face.
Only a few minutes later, your genius wife finished the modification and activated the device.
[National City, present]
You knocked on the door of Jessy's apartment, she opened quickly and inspected you before leading you to her sofa. "What happened to you? Where is Lena?" she asked, afraid of your condition.
"Someone diffuses lead in the—" you coughed, "atmosphere," you finished, coughing.
"Wait who? And why?" Your sister asked,
"I don't know, but I need to contact Lena. Lilly will be affected by the lead, and she's the only one who could help us." You declared, Jess wanted to say something, but her phone rang; it was Lena.
"Lena, where are you?... what? Yeah, she's with me ... Right now? Okay, she's with me too, in my apartment... Yeah see you soon." she hangs on and turned to you "it was Lena she's in her way to come here. She'll be here soon. You should rest. I'll bring you water," she said as she walked to the kitchen.
You walked to Jessy's room and opened the door. You saw Lilly. She was sleeping, but suddenly she started to cough and was now awake. You took her in your arms and made your way back to the living room. Jessy came back and gave you both a glass of water. It's been more than twenty years now since you were on earth, so you knew you could stay a little longer, but you were worried for Lilly. Fortunately, Lena didn't make you wait too long.
You heard a knock on the door, and your big sis opened it. She smiled when she saw Lena, but her smile disappeared when she saw the woman behind her. "Oh Lillian, what a surprise." she said coldly, but let them step inside.
When you saw the familiar green eyes you were relieved and then you saw your mother-in-law, you suppressed a caught "Mother-in-law." you greeted her
"Daughter-in-law" She greeted you back, "You seemed more alive the last time I saw you," she joked, and you chuckled,
"Granny Lillian." Lilly greeted her, and the older Luthor's heart almost dropped when she heard the voice of her granddaughter.
"Hey princess, did you catch a cold?" Lena asked when she noticed her daughter's condition.
"No, someone diffused lead in the atmosphere," you replied, and the youngest Luthor coughed against your chest. "Hey, it's okay, Princess," you ran your hand through her hair. "Mommy is here; she'll find a way to help you." you whispered loudly against her temple.
Lena covered her mouth with her hands. It couldn't be real. Her baby girl shouldn't be affected by the lead, she's human too. Lillian noticed and decided to speak, "We have something that could help her." She informed you.
You didn't have to think too long about it, you understood they couldn't save both of you. "Hey princess, do you want to show the gift uncle Mike gave you to your granny?" You asked softly, and she nodded before getting up and walking to her bedroom. You started to walk to the kitchen and made eye contact with your wife. She got the hint and followed you.
"I'm sorry," she barely said between sobs.
"Hey, darling... *cough*... it's okay. You'll help Lilly, and I'm sure you'll find a solution for me after that." You kissed her forehead gently.
"I was not talking about this," she admitted. You didn't say anything; you just studied her eyes.
"It was you?" You asked her, and she nodded. She was crying harder, and you locked her between your arms. She could hear your heartbeats, but they were so ecstatic she couldn't feel safe, "I know why you did that." You whispered, and you ran a hand through her hair, "I'm not angry or anything, Lena. Just promise me you'll do anything to heal Lilly." She gently drew back and locked her gaze on yours.You only saw sadness and fear in her eyes, and it was killing you.
"I promise. But we have to do something for you." She replied, and you smiled softly.
"It's okay, my queen; I'm sure Superman and Supergirl won't mind if I stay in the fortress for a while." You tried to reassure her, or you. You didn't really know, but you can't let her feel bad for something she couldn't control. "I'm okay, Lena, I promise."
Jessy came in the kitchen, and you looked at her. "Lilly is feeling better now." She informed you, and Lena was relieved. You wanted to rush to your baby girl and take her in your arms, but you fell to the ground.
When you awoke, you were in the fortress. You could feel the lead in your lungs, but the pain slowly went away. You looked around and noticed a floating robot."Good morning, Mrs. Y/l/n-Luthor, I'm Kelex," he said.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Kelex." You looked around. "We are in the fortress, right?" you asked.
"That's right. Supergirl brought you here after you collapsed in your sister's apartment," he explained.
"Oh," was all you could say."Do you know where the others are?" you asked.
"They were back in National City. But you can't see them right now." he said, and you looked confused. "The atmosphere is not totally free of lead. You must stay here, safe," he explained.
"Do you know until when?" you asked, a little saddened by the revelation.
"We don't know, but don't worry, I'll let Mrs. Luthor and Kara know you're awake. They could come to see you during your time here." he said, and you nodded.
"Okay, it'll be fun. At least, I hope," you muttered.
This is my new favorite gif of Kara
Not my gif*
All you remembered was seeing an unfamiliar planet, somewhere you didn't want to call home, ever.
Now somewhere in a grassy field, you sat unconscious, in the pod that saved you from death, while your home planet was destroyed a long time ago. You, while fleeing your home planet, followed another pod into the phantom zone, and stayed there long after it had gone. Left all alone, for so long, just like you had been before, left in the silence of space...
 ---
"Supergirl, we just need you to check it out." J'onn told Kara, as the Kryptonians sister, adding her opinion.
“We haven’t even classified it as a threat,” Alex said, warning her sister to not be aggressive, and Kara turned to leave but was stopped by J’onn.
“Oh, one more thing,” J’onn turned to address the Kryptonian. “We believe it to be Kryptonian.” The blonde froze for a moment and then turned towards the sky and flew away. Kara's mind was racing as her sister got on comms and gave her a location
“You be careful,” Alex said typing something into the computer and added in a whisper “-especially if they really are Kryptonian...”
---
You felt funny, a good funny, but it was- The feeling was so difficult to describe, almost like your whole body felt the happiness in your heart, but you weren’t particularly happy, your body was tingling in excitement though.
Feeling strong, feeling like you could do more than just sit around, you were getting used to the feeling of safety and strength rolling over you, when a shadow came out in front of your eye line and your eyelids peeled open, right as the top hatch of the pod, you were sitting in, came off and with it, a million different noises filled your head, making it feel like it was about to explode, as the feeling of safety went right out the pod. You screamed.
“I’m not here to harm you.” Said a strange voice in a familiar tongue. “Will you let me help you?” The same voice said again, it rang in your ears, and it fought very hard to stay at the forefront among all the strange, foreign noises trying to invade your thoughts. You looked up and saw a man with, jet black, almost dark blue hair, a red sheet swaying in the wind, attached at his shoulders, and a respected glyph laid upon his chest.
“Who are you?” You're not sure where you are or who is talking to you, the only thing that makes you feel a little bit better, is that he is speaking your language. “Where am I?” You asked the man in Kryptonese.
“You are on Earth.” He starts calmly, waiting a moment before proceeding, being careful to keep his distance. “What’s your name? I am Kal-el.” He smiles softly at you, speaking slowly.
“Earth…?” A weight fell in your heart, and a sudden sadness flowed through you, forgetting about the fear of your safety on this Planet. “Where is Krypton, Kal-el?” You asked, sadness in your voice without fully registering your thoughts.
Clark gulped, “I’m sorry, it’s all gone.” His words broke your already shattered heart, and for a moment all the thoughts and noise went away, silence was the only thing you could hear, before unconsciously speaking again.
“Where did it all go?” You asked the brave man, innocently. Kal-el couldn’t be the one to tell you, the pod crystal would explain it all to you in time.
“That is for you to figure out.” You nod your head at his words, there was somewhere in his voice that felt safe, felt trusting, it reminded you of home. You looked up and he held out his hand for you, pulling you out of the still smoking pod that carried you here, to Earth. The ground beneath you, felt so different under your shoes from how Krypton had, well from what you can remember of your former home.
“Clark?” Another voice said in the distance, not far from where you and Kal-el stood.
“It’s Kal-el here, Kara.” He held your hand lightly in the air.
“Ah,” Kara paused when she finally looked at you, knowing you couldn’t have been older than 15.“What’s your name..?” Kara asked you, resting her arms at either side of her suit.
The new girl had yellow hair, the same red sheet, and the same house glyph resting on the same blue as Kal-el, you now understood that she was trustworthy, if Kal-el knew her.
“My name is Y/n. Daughter of the House of Y/l/n.” You said, finally answering Kal-el’s long forgotten question.
”I am Kara, from the House of El, same as Kal-el, here.” She smiled tenderly at you.
“Brother and sister?” You asked, just as curious as you sounded, brow furrowed in confusion.
“Cousins!” Kal-el gives a laugh, as Kara walks closer to the both of you. Kara gives you another smile and turns to her cousin, speaking in a language you had forgotten was stored in your memory.
“Alex wants me to take her in, just to watch her for now. Make sure she’s safe.”
“Are you sure? The farm could always use another pair of hands.”
“Yeah,” Kara reassured him. “I don’t want something to happen, and I mean- I am stronger,” Kara smirks at her cousin in a serious moment.
“Yeah, yeah..” Clark shook his head in a playful annoyance. Kal-el turns back to you saying, “Y/n, you will go with Kara,” You take a step back, taking your hand away from Kal-el’s.
“We don’t want to hurt you, just to keep you safe.” Kara says quickly.
“This planet has people that can hurt you, but me and Kara are going to watch out for you.” Kal-el added to Kara’s statement.
“No harm will be done to you, Y/n. I promise, can you trust us?”
---
3 hours later
You sat on the ground, in a cell, with a tear-stained face, wishing Kal-el were here and that the horrible ringing in your ears from the silence would go away, with a sleeve of your Kryptonian clothes tasered off at a weird angle, letting your forearm show.
Kara was stressed out and you hadn't even been here for a day yet. Alex was dealing with the agents that had accidentally scared you. And you apologized in English over and over again, hoping that it would help.
Before J’onn or Alex even had a say, you were put in a cell by three other agents that were able to get you to calm down enough and left you all alone, freaking you out in doing so. When you heard the airlock seal and everything went silent, your head wasn’t so filled with noise anymore, but you felt as if your strength had been taken from you. The only thing you could hear was your breathing, before the bang of the door at the other side of the big room startled you, and just like that, you were all alone again. You didn’t even notice the green lights turn on until you couldn’t take the silence much longer.
Kara had been out for maybe an hour to go to CatCo and talk with a source about her current article, while you stayed at the DEO, in a cell, under green lights that made every part of your skin hurt, when Kara got a phone call and flew to the DEO with anger flowing through her veins.
“You put her in a cell?!” She shouted across the room. Startling most of the agents and making Winn wince in his seat.
“Supergirl, you need to know the whole story,” J’onn tried reasoning with The Girl of Steel.
“Don’t.” She cuts him off aggressively, walking up to main console area. “I told her she would be safe here. Not locked up for something she can’t control!” The Girl of Steel throws her arms in the air, out of anger.
“I’m not saying she should stay in the cell, but Kara,” Alex tried to reason with her sister. “she doesn’t have her powers under control at all.” Supergirl gives her sister an annoyed glance before saying anything.
“I wasn’t put in a cell when I got here, now was I?” She points the question to her superiors, who stay quiet.
“Where is she?” Alex takes a breath and leads Supergirl, silently, to your cell. Alex opened the door for her sister. Kara, being angry, and knowing what it was like to feel trapped, she couldn’t imagine what Y/n was feeling. She immediately opened your cell door.
“Y/n, come with me.” You shook your head at Kara’s words, trying to move away from the door, as you feel your strength start to creep back in.
“No. I hurt them. I don’t want to hurt the Humans.” You said trying to keep yourself from crying. Kara’s expression softened and walked towards you slowly.
“It wasn’t your-” Kara’s gaze shifted upwards, slightly feeling the posion from the green lights shining down on you. “Fault…” A new fueled rage filled with shock flowed through Kara. You didn’t notice Kara’s findings, but Alex did.
“Kara…” Alex put her hand over her mouth in horror, not aware of this till now. You weren’t listening to the agents, only could tell they were yelling at one another. All you knew was that of course you didn’t mean to but it was your fault.
“It wasn’t her fault!” Kara shouts at her sister, cutting the conversation to a close.
“Nothing seems to be my fault but look at what happened, before I got here everything was in perfect order.” You finally gave in to your tears and stuffed your face into your knees. Kara heard you, turning instantly, and took in the scene of you crying, underneath the kryptonite, pulled into a ball, she was almost brought to tears herself.
“Hey, Y/n, look at me..” Kara stepped forward, crouching down to be near you. “I promise you that things were never in perfect order since Kal-el and I got here a long time ago. Everything will be alright, just need some time to- Re-adjust, okay.” She smiles at you, as you lift your head slowly and nod, wiping your remaining tears away.
“Today I will teach you how to control your powers, but that also means being able to control your emotions too, think you can handle that?” You gave her a more confident nod. Supergirl walked out of the cell and you slowly followed, looking away from Alex, as you walked by, and out the door, following the red cape down the hall.
---
Two weeks later
“Y/n, Kara is going to be taking you with her today!” Alex said walking into the Med bay and over to the bed you sat upon.
“Where will we be going?” You sat on the bed uninjured in any way.
“You will have to ask her, I bet it’ll be a fun day!” You smiled slightly at the agent’s words.
“Will I get to see Earth, now?” Alex smiles, as she checks your last blood sample.
“Yes, and don’t worry you’ll get to see more and more with time.” You and Alex both, quickly, turn your heads toward the door; shouting coming from outside the room.
“You should understand that I am trying to keep my country safe, and without rules for the-” The door shut closed, as you and Alex both heard General Lane’s voice, booming from the level below both of you being cut off from the, now closed door.
You felt a ping of guilt flow through you, the General, that anger you heard from him was because of your presence, you knew it so.
“Kara, should be here soon.” Alex said, going back to her work, silently.
You had learned in the last two weeks that your being here had caused a lot more problems than anticipated, you had been told multiple times by Alex and Kara and some computer nerd, that you were not the problem, and that this was none of your fault. You were sure that it was your fault, but you wouldn’t let them know that. You knew they were trying to fix it.
Kara slipped in through the door letting a few booming words get past the doorway and closed it immediately.
“I’m here!” She smiled across the serious room.
While kara was all smiles, you could only think of how this was all your fault but you couldn’t do anything to fix it, you didn't have a clue where to start if you were to fix things.
“Are they still arguing…?” You asked, staring blankly at her. Kara nodded her head guiltily, and you rested your head in your hands, feeling defeated.
“Hey, let's get going, we're gonna have so much fun, today!” Kara put her hands on your forearms, and wiggled them gently, making you look up at her, while she tried to cheer you up.
---
The shirt felt weird, and the the sweater was going to make you suffocate. Anyways, you walked out to show Kara.
"Wow- Are you okay?" Kara asked when she noticed you're stressed face, and you shook your head.
"It's too tight." Kara rushed over and pulled the sweater off you, then giving you different clothes of hers to try on.
You weren’t sure how the other Kryptonian wore this every day, it felt like you would melt with, pants, a button-up shirt, and a sweater that made it feel like you had flown too close to the sun with Icarus.
“How- How do you wear this?” Kara chuckled at your question and walked over to you.
“If you're hot, you could try it without the sweater?” You nod in a hurry and she pulls it over your head, then putting it away as you speak.
“Do you have a breakfast?”
“Do I have a-” Kara started to repeat your question, before she realized what you were asking. “Yes, I do! Do you like pancakes?” Your face lit up with excitement, shouting,
“PANCAKES?!” Making Kara jump a little, but smile all in all at your excitement. “I love pancakes, so much” You sat down smiling, happily awaiting your pancakes.
-
“Okay, last thing is glasses.” Kara moved over to her bed, after cleaning up breakfast.
“Oh, that’s okay Kara, my eyesight is perfectly fine. I can even see through walls.” You took a bite of pancake.
“No, it’s not for your eyesight-”
“Are they spy glasses then?” You cut her off with your curiosity and a mouthful of pancakes.
“No, let me finish this time.” She gave you a strict look.
“Right, sorry.”
“Thank you. The glasses are for hiding your identity, so then if you ever want to be a superhero like me, no one will tell the difference between you and your superhero counterpart.” There was an awkward silence between the two of you for a moment.
“Can I talk now?” You asked innocently.
“Yes.” Kara breathed out, trying to hide her smile from how wholesome you were.
-
You touched down unsteadily on the concrete ground, wearing some of Kara’s clothes and a rain jacket, even when it was nowhere close to raining, with nice clear blue skies, but Kara wanted to make sure you wouldn't be cold. The dark color of your jacket was a large contrast from your lighter shirt and jeans, making you pop from the dimness of the backstreet you now stood in.
Your eyes scanned everything, the grove in the rocks, small piles of trash scattered around, a tattered, worn, pink couch that you knew wasn’t top of the line but was more comfortable than most, the steam coming from a mysterious place in the wall, the little pieces of grass swaying in the wind that blew by you invisibly and all the different textures of dirt, bricks and the fresh sounds that came with this brand new location on Earth.
“Come on, Y/n/n.” Kara gestured for you to follow her out towards the world, with tall buildings all around, the part of the world that was much more colorful, and warmer feeling, than this place, far from this place in between two large bricks..
To Kara this part of the world was always more chaotic, more noisy, more littered with people, more enemies around, and more threats. But to you, it was the best most exciting, most-
“What’s this?” Had been your question of the day, wanting to know the answer to all the different objects you had encountered, big or small, yearning to know what they were, why they looked like that, and how they worked. Even trying to go and touch a snake you found before being hissed at and scared out of your mind by its aggressiveness. All you wanted was to pet it.
“That’s a pen, Y/n.” Kara said, taking no more than 5 seconds, away from her coffee, to see what you were holding up and noticing the confusion plastered on your face.
“What is its function, though?” You examined the pen closely, not sure what it could be, while Kara moved all her things into one hand and looked over at you.
“It holds thoughts on paper.” She took it from your hands, and you almost grabbed it back, but waited, hoping she would read your mind. She uncapped the pen, writing out both your names on a paper she needed for work, while you stared in awe, but that was soon interrupted by a shout, as the elevator doors opened.
 "Keriaaa!" Cat yelled for what seemed like the millionth time, before walking out of her office, hands on her hip, as Kara ran in, with you behind her.
"Miss Grant! I am so sorry, It will nev-".
"Who," Kara was cut off by Cat "is that, keria?"
She looked at you, suspiciously with a pointed finger. Kara hadn't thought about having to explain to Miss Grant about your being here.
"Y/n? She- uh-" Kara couldn't think. You poked out from behind the older Kryptonian and greeted Miss Grant with a small smile and a wave.
"Hello!" You didn't know she was supposed to be intimidating or a big respected news lady, not that you knew what the news was, to you she was just another regular Kryptonian, but this Krypton didn't have flying cars or anyone speaking Kryptonese and the clothing choices were very different, and no else could fly around like you could, so it wasn't really Krypton, but you didn't know anything else. Not until the DEO had told you everything you knew so far about this planet, which wasn't very much.
"Cousin! She's my cousin. Y/n is. My Foster Mom's, sister's daughter." Your face scrunches in confusion.
"I'm actually-" Kara swung her arm over your shoulder, bring you into a side hug.
"Hanging with me for a little while, for a visit, we don't see each other much." Kara pauses for a moment, "and my-".
"Keria." Cat said curtly as she nursed her newest headache "All this nonsense is making my head hurt, and all without my coffee." Kara hands the coffee over awkwardly and pulls you out of the room.
"Have I been calling you the wrong name this whole time?" Kara looks over at you, exhausted.
"No, it's Kara."
You think about it for a moment. "Oh, well I don't think the lady in there knows that.”
"She does." Kara lets out a sigh, glancing over into her boss’ office, pulling a spinny chair over for you to sit in.
You sat down and discovered that the chair moves in circles, without moving across the room itself. It was one of the coolest things you had ever seen. You spun in the chair a few times before stopping abruptly.
The phone was ringing, but to you that was the sound of death.
“Kar- Kara! What is that alarm for??” Kara was quick to assure you it wasn’t an alarm, and you didn’t need to panic.
“It’s just the phone ringing, Y/n, don’t worry.” Kara picked up the call, and immediately started drawing on a paper, with her pen. Which you now knew the function of; to hold memories on a paper.
-
You tapped Kara on the shoulder for the millionth time, when she finally turned towards you, staring daggers. You instantaneously backed up and left her alone until the phone call had ended.
“Y/n,” She whisper yelled towards you, “that was an important call. I need you to-”
“Kara, I really have to go the bathroom.” You interrupted.
“What?”
“Where is the bathroom?” Kara now understanding, showed you to it, so you wouldn’t get lost.
---
“Hey Kara,” Jimmy Olsen walked towards the blonde.
“Hey!” She smiled at her friend, starting to worry as you had been gone for almost a half hour, in the bathroom.
“Winn, might have told me some interesting news...” Jimmy makes a questioning face at Kara, before they are interrupted by their boss, who had noticed Kara’s little cousin was gone.
“Keria! I need you make sure layout has the right colors I sent them!” Cat yelled from her office.
“I’ll be back," She started to walk away, saying to herself "She should be back soon,” Her voice turns into a whisper. “hopefully...” As Kara gets on the elevator headed straight for layout on the floor below.
-
“Hello…? Kara…?” You walked aimlessly back towards her desk, as Cat waved you inside her office.
“Keria is doing something for me. So. Your Keria’s little cousin?” She takes off her glasses and invites you to sit on the couch. You sit and nod.
“Yes, I am her- Cousin.” You struggled to get the words out, not remembering how to articulate the new word. The older woman hummed in response and sat across from you, crossing her legs, one over the other, staring you down.
“Keria doesn’t talk much about family.” She pondered in her seat.
“I live- Far away, so I do not visit very much.”
“Do you stay for long when you do visit?” She questioned you, and you froze having no idea what to say.
“Uh not very long, usually just- Days.”
“Days?”
“One days, usually.”
“Kara is quite a lot older than you it seems, what do you get up to when she is at work all day?”
“I work, also.” You outright lied.
“You do?” She asked questionably.
“Yes, I do… Oh, and I am 14.” You said proudly, if you didn't know anything in the world, you would always know how old you were. “Kara is much older than me, yes. We are cousins.” You smile at her trying not to seem weird.
“Y/n!” Kara practically shouts your name from the doorway, walking in to meet you. You stood at her arrival and smiled at Miss Grant as Kara took your arm and pulled you towards her desk.
“What was that? Did you tell her anything? What did she ask you?” Kara was mad and slightly worried her boss knew she had lied to her.
“I just told her I am 14, and we are cousins.” You starting to walk towards your chair but stopped in your tracks.
“Keria. Do you always interrupt people’s conversations like that? We were learning so much about each other.”
“I’m sorry Miss Grant, Y/n has,” Kara takes half a breath and continues. “School work she needs to be working on.” The Girl of Steel really got out of that just by the hem of her cape.
-
The constant sounds of the squeaky chair, spinning around and around, started to irritate the girl with super hearing.
The world started to spin faster and faster around, your vision blurring and then it stopped. All quite suddenly, almost throwing you out of the chair. Kara tightly held onto the chair, digging her fingers in it just enough to get a good grip and stop the irritating noise.
“Can you, please, stop.” She begged you. “Once I finish this article, we can go around the city, do you like ice cream?” You had no idea what an icecream was, but you wanted to have some and nodded in response, but groaned at the world still spinning a bit before your eyes, slowing down by the second.
“Thank you.”
---
You ran down the curb of the street, a smile on your face, as you secured you and Kara’s spot in line for ice cream. You curiously watched others walk away with happy faces, holding their ice cream from a triangle tube! You were excited to say the least.
Kara chuckled at you, “Excited?” she said walking up to you.
“More than! I’ve never ever had ice cream, even, in the history of all the worlds!” Kara couldn’t help but smile at your excitement for new things, knowing you would be learning about a lot of new things in the coming months, just as she once did.
“What?” You chuckled, noticing your new friend, observing you fondly.
“Nothing…” Kara said smiling, and continued to look you over, now understanding that you were going through what she did. The blonde made a vow to herself, in that moment, waiting for ice cream that she would always make sure you weren’t alone, like she had so often felt when she first got to Earth. Now she had a mission, someone to take under her wing and watch over. She never got that chance with her cousin.
You feel in love with ice cream, loving every part of it. Kara becoming your friend, along with Alex and the computer nerd, Winn, was one of best things ever! Everyday was fun, well the days without someone on the verge of death, were always a good time. Wether you were at the arcade with Alex, or at girls night with the scientist, named Lena, or just saving the day, when you were allowed to at least. And over time you were sure that one day you would call this place home, even if at first it wasn't so high on your priority list...
Agent Danvers - Chapter 6
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
I was going to post this tomorrow, but I decided just to post it today!
Enjoy what nonsense I put in here . . .
I love y’all!
Tumblr media
Kara kneels over a man’s body in her Supergirl suit.
“I called her, sir,” Alex tells Hank. “We hunt aliens. She is one. It’s a resource we didn’t have before.” Kara looks around, smiling slightly up at her sister.
“What can I do to help?” Kara rises to her feet.
“Don’t cause any oil spills,” Hank says.
Harsh, Kara thinks.
“Take a look around. Don’t touch anything,” Alex tells her younger sister.
“Alex,” Hank says and the two take a few steps away, “this whole facility specializes in chemical manufacturing. Sodium hypochlorite, ammonium nitrate.
“Ingredients for a chemical bomb?” Alex questions.
“Yeah,” Hank replies. “We need to find this alien, fast.”
. . .
There is a knock on (Y/n)’s front door from a pair of concerned sisters.
“You think she’s okay?” Kara asks, her eyes wide with worry. “She’s been mentioning for the last few days that she’s felt sick.”
“I hope she’s okay,” Alex replies. She, once again, sees the image of her baby sister crying over her redheaded girlfriend’s unconscious body and pain rips at Alex Danvers’s heart.
. . .
Loud knocking wakes (Y/n) from her place on the couch, still feeling nauseous. As (Y/n) stumbles sleepily to the door, Liho meows, looking annoyed - and sleepy.
(Y/n) opens her door, her gaze softening.
“Lena! Come in,” (Y/n) opens her door, letting Yelena Belova.
(Y/n) gives Yelena a hug, her eyes softening with a sisterly affection.
Liho toddles over on little legs, letting out a soft mew.
“Hi,” Yelena crouches down, petting the cat on the head.
(Y/n) sits back down on the couch, trying to quell her nausea.
Yelena studies (Y/n) for a moment, but then shrugs, sitting down.
. . .
(Y/n)’s leans back in her seat at her desk at CatCo, furrowing her eyebrows. The ache in her lower back had been frustrating her for the last hour and a half, yet she had no time to get up and try to relieve her pain.
The firewall she was trying to build had frustrated her even further.
Kara walks over to her sister’s desk, sitting down on the edge of the desk. “Are you okay?” Kara asks, her eyebrows furrowing with concern.
“My back is killing me,” (Y/n) grumbles, pressing her hand to the small of her back. “The firewall isn’t helping either.”
(Y/n)’s fellow IT walks over. Winn leans over (Y/n)’s shoulder, typing in a few commands.
“Thanks Winn,” (Y/n) smiles slightly, glad that her friend helped.
“Maybe you should go home,” Kara says, looking concerned.
“Maybe I will,” (Y/n) says, swallowing down her sudden surge of nausea.
Cat Grant walks out of her office, glancing between Kara and (Y/n). Her expression softens uncharacteristically. “Why don’t you both have the rest of the day off?”
Kara glances, her eyes widening slightly, up at her boss.
“Go on,” Cat says.
“Yes, Miss Grant,” both Danvers sisters say.
Kara helps (Y/n) pack up her laptop and all her other work equipment before heading back to her own apartment.
“I’ll go get Liho,” Kara says, knowing the kitten was the source of (Y/n)’s happiness.
(Y/n) grabs a blanket as Kara leaves the apartment from the window.
(Y/n) had fallen asleep by the time Kara had returned, and Kara grows more concerned.
Liho lets out a soft mew, kneading the couch before lying down. She sniffs at the fabric of the blanket that had bunched up around (Y/n)’s stomach, but seems content and Liho closes her eyes.
“I hope you feel better soon,” Kara murmurs, running her fingers through her sister’s hair.
. . .
Eight-and-a-half months later, (Y/n) finds herself on a bus with Jo’on and Alex.
“Remain seated,” a police woman steps onto the bus, and (Y/n) rests a hand on her stomach.
Jo’on had disguised himself as a little boy, and Alex had dawned a blonde wig.
(Y/n), who had just gone with Jo’on and Alex to go visit her mother, relaxes slightly in her seat.
“We’re on the lookout for a pair of fugitives,” the police woman says, “wanted in connection to some very serious crimes. They are considered to be extremely dangerous.”
Jo’on rests his little blonde head against Alex’s shoulder, wrapping his little arms around her waist.
Alex wraps an arm around Jo’on’s shoulders in a motherly fashion.
The police woman passes past the three before turning around and getting off the bus.
. . .
Night had fallen by the time (Y/n), Alex, and Jo’on arrive at their old house in Midvale.
“Hi,” Eliza Danvers wraps her youngest daughter in a hug, being careful of (Y/n)’s baby bump.
(Y/n)’s expression softens. “Hi, Mom. I brought a few friends,” (Y/n) continues.
Alex and Jo’on come into view, and Eliza hugs her eldest daughter tightly. “Are you alright?” Eliza asks, resting her hands on Alex’s forearms. “What is going on?”
“Well . . .” Alex pauses, trying to collect her thoughts.
“And who’s this?” Eliza goes on.
Jo’on shifts back into himself, and Eliza takes a step back. “What the hell?”
“No, no, no, Mom. It’s okay,” (Y/n) rests a gentle hand on her mother’s arm.
“No, whatever that is, that killed your father!” Eliza replies, meeting (Y/n)’s gaze with wild eyes.
“No,” (Y/n) shakes her head.
“The real Hank Henshaw blackmailed Dad into joining the DEO,” Alex says, throwing off her blonde wig.
“Jo’on tried to save Dad,” (Y/n) says, sitting down in the nearest armchair. “He’s a shape-shifter from Mars.”
“Is it true?” Eliza Danvers asks.
“What’s true is that your husband was one of the best people I’ve ever known,” Jo’on replies. “He saved my life.”
“And Jo’on has saved mine and Kara’s,” Alex adds. “You can trust him. Mom, we don’t have much time,” Alex goes on. “Jo’on and I are on the run. We just stopped by to supply up.”
(Y/n) furrows her brows, leaning back a little in the chair.
“Wait. ‘On the run?’” Eliza asks. “How did the three of you even get out of the city?”
“What?” (Y/n) asks, her head tilting slightly.
“You don’t know what’s happening in National City?” Eliza questions. The two Danvers sister shake their heads, frowning.
“Then their’s something you have to see,” Eliza replies, her expression grim.
. . .
Eliza finds Jo’on in the living room, looking down at a family photo - the three sister with Jeramiah and Eliza standing behind them.
“It’s a nice photograph,” Jo’on tells Eliza. “Beautiful family.” His gaze falls on a picture with (Y/n), possibly sixteen, with a redhead, who also looked about sixteen. He goes to ask about it, but Eliza interjects.
“We were,” Eliza says. “So Alex and (Y/n) say that Jeramiah saved your life. Were you with him?” she questions. “Were you with him at the end?”
“His only thoughts were for you and the girls,” Jo’on replies. “I made him a promise that I would look after all of you; I’ve been trying to keep that promise every day since.
Eliza nods her understanding. “Thank you. So Mars . . .” Eliza sits down on the automan. “I have to ask, underneath it all, are you a little green man?”
(Y/n) walks into the room, her eyes twinkling with mischief. She sits down beside her mother.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
You sneezed for what was probably the 30th time since you’d gotten to work and groaned softly, wiping your nose on your sleeve as you cursed yourself for not having the foresight to bring tissues. You’d felt moderately fine when you left the house this morning, just a little sniffle but it had gotten so much worse in the few hours since you’d gotten to the DEO.
That stupid sniffle had turned into a constant runny but somehow stuffy nose and a steady cough that was getting impossible to silence when your lungs decided to rebel every few minutes. You were exhausted, a low-grade fever had started to boil under your skin about an hour ago and you were starting to believe that it wasn’t so low anymore.
 You rubbed your nose again and returned to typing on your computer, keeping track of the vitals of the agents currently in the field, helping Supergirl to take down half a dozen particularly strong Hellgrammites.
“Left flank of number two is open,” Vasquez said, not looking up from her control station. She was analyzing the aliens’ fight patterns and offering advice to Agent Danvers as well as Hartmann and Price, all shifting about the battlefield (empty intersection) to give Supergirl an edge in the fight.
Price had gotten stung and was on the ground, trying to keep himself conscious as the pain took over his body. Alex was shouting to Kara, who really didn’t need her to shout what with the super hearing, telling her the best way for her to take out the remaining three Hellgrammites. You probably should’ve been listening to your comms, but you had muted them, the voice in your ear adding to your headache.
You focused your hazy eyes back on the screen, your gaze drawn to Alex’s pulse blinking at the top of the list of agents. Even though you were supposed to be focusing on everyone equally, you tended to find yourself looking more intently on tracking your girlfriend. It wasn’t that you weren’t looking at the others, it was just that you selfishly cared a bit more about the brunette agent.
“Y/l/n, how’s Price holding up?” Vasquez asked, glancing over at you at the exact moment you decided to wipe your nose again. You froze, the fabric of your sleeve pressed against your face, eyes wide with a deer-in-headlights expression.
“H-he’s okay. Pulse is a little fast, but he’ll be fine.” You mumbled, voice weak and congested. At this point, all you really wanted to do was to go home and sleep, but that wasn’t something you could do with your girlfriend and Kara in the field. Plus, you had to disprove the looks that your coworkers were giving you. If they were here, then you were here. You did not take sick days.
“How about you? Checked your temperature in the last hour?” She was focused intently on her work, but taking the time to communicate with you. You hesitated, painting a confused look onto your face.
“What are you talking about? I’m fine. Plus, I feel like we have more important things to be worrying about right now.” You quipped, a note of sarcasm slipping into your tone. The sarcasm became an instant regret. You may have been dating one of the most senior agents, but the woman was still your boss and could still write you up for disciplinary reasons. Lucky for you Vasquez just found your contempt amusing.
“Whatever you say.” She smirked, a hint of concern in her voice. She would never admit it of course, but the dark-haired DEO agent cared for you. She knew how much Alex loved you and it wasn’t just her. You were well-liked by the entire department, even J’onn had come to care for you the Danvers sisters.
You went back to your screen, deciding that you didn’t need to pay all that much attention to it anymore. The Hellgrammites had been subdued (thanks to Kara for that quick finish) and everyone was fine. It was only a matter of time before they got back to the DEO and with the skirmish over you could probably sneak off to a conference room to take a nap.
You must’ve zoned out for longer than you meant to because the next thing you knew your name was being shouted by a certain angry, fresh-from-battle DEO agent.
You spun in your chair (a very bad idea) and groaned, clutching your head as dizziness and pain threatened to knock you to the floor. Your nose was running again, but you were too preoccupied with your aching skull and that strange tingly feeling in your body to deal with wiping it. All you could really deal with right now was not passing out.
A hand on your knee brought you back to the present world and you blinked up to meet Alex’s worried brown orbs. She pressed a hand to your forehead and said something that you couldn’t quite make out through the ringing in your ears. You shook your head slightly and whimpered, followed by a pathetic sniffle.
“Y/n? Hey, come on.” She ordered, slinging an arm around your waist. You dropped your head on her shoulder, and she helped you wobble forward, utterly unsure as to where the two of you were going. For a moment it seemed that she was leading you towards the exit but then you took an unexpected right turn.
“Where’re you taking me?” You mumbled, regretting that you didn’t just stay home. This had all happened so damn fast, from a sniffle to a full-blown case of the flu in a matter of hours.
“Medical.” She said curtly, her gentle touches not matching up with her tone of voice. She sounded angry but she was holding you so carefully, touching you as if you were made of fragile porcelain. You aimed an exhausted fit of coughing into your shoulder and attempted to pull away, very unhappy with the idea of a visit to Medical.
“Do not fight me on this, it is not up to you.”
“Just lemme go home, ‘lex. M’fine.” You slurred, sounding very much not fine. You of course weren’t fine, but she really didn’t need to know the extent of just how not fine you were. At least one of you had to be at work, it wasn’t like to agents could go home in the same day and you knew that if you went home Alex would follow.
“What part of ‘do not fight me’ isn’t understood?” Your girlfriend growled, her face tense as well as her body. She was pulling you along, practically dragging you as your legs were determined not to work. All you wanted to do was go home and lay on the cool tile of the kitchen floor. The kitchen had never betrayed you the way your body currently was.
Nevertheless, you found yourself sitting on a surprisingly comfortable bed in the Med-Bay, refusing to lay down despite Alex’s pleas with you to do as she asked. She sat on the bed beside you, allowing you to lean against her as the two of you waited for Hamilton who was currently sewing up Price’s wound.
“m’sorry.” You whispered, another round of rib-cracking coughs taking over your stupid useless body. It was being rather unhelpful at the moment; it wouldn’t even consider letting you pretend to be okay until it was time to go home.
“Don’t apologize Y/n/n,” The brunette sighed, shifting beside you so that you were more comfortably situated in her lap. You grabbed a handful of her shirt and whimpered softly, tears filling your eyes as she very gently carded her fingers through your hair.
“Oh, sweetheart.” She kissed your hairline, an air of worried sadness hanging around her. The agent held you close, silently wishing that Hamilton would hurry the fuck up. Price hadn’t been injured that badly and in her mind you were definitely more important than the man she didn’t exactly like.
Just as the good doctor finished putting his stitches in Kara raced into the room, her cape flying around her in a very superhero-esque manner. Her blonde hair was sort of messy and there was dirt on her cheek, but she didn’t seem to care as she hurried over to the two of you, immediately going to feel your forehead.
The Kryptonian didn’t really know what she was feeling for but she’d seen her sister do it before so she felt like it was an appropriate action.
“She’s hot, are humans supposed to be so hot?” Kara asked, looking to Alex and Dr. Hamilton for answers.
“I’m fine.” You replied, trying for a smile. Alex snorted and shook her head, rolling her eyes a little at your insistence that you were okay. She appreciated that you were trying to calm her sister down, but that really wasn’t your job.
“She’ll be okay Kar, go get yourself cleaned up.” The brunette reassured, giving the blonde a sad smile. The superhero gnawed on her lip for a moment, unsure how to take Alex’s reaction. This wasn’t a side of her adoptive sister that she saw very often, and she didn’t like it. It made her nervous.
“Okay. Text me and uh, feel better Y/n.” You hummed tiredly and opened your mouth for Hamilton who was holding a thermometer in front of your face. Kara skittered out of the Med-Bay, leaving the three of you alone, the Doctor muttering her disapproval as she flitted about you, taking your vitals.
“Okay Agent Y/l/n, you’ve got a temperature of 104.1 and a serious case of the flu. I’d like to give you an IV bag of cool saline to get that fever down and once that’s finished you can go home with Agent Danvers.” She decided, already grabbing the bag of fluids while you tensed against your girlfriend.
You didn’t like needles, you didn’t like the medical wing, you didn’t like any of this. Had you known you were actually this bad off you would’ve convinced Alex to take you home so that you didn’t have to be in this stupid room about to get an IV.
“Alex…” You whimpered, tears filling your eyes as you wiped frantically at your running nose. That just made you sneeze, which was both gross and didn’t help your wanting-to-go-home argument.
“It’ll only be a few hours sweetheart. Here, blow your nose.” She pressed a few tissues into your hand, prompting you to blow your nose. It didn’t do much, but it seemed to satisfy her because she took the used tissues from you and tossed them in a trash can, much to your disgust.
“Relax, I’m getting sick either way with the germs you’re spewing. Come here, lay down with me and we’ll get this over with, okay?” Alex smirked, her tone turning serious in the second half of her statement. You bit back tears as you laid beside her, pressing your head against your collarbone to hide from the needle.
 It wasn’t like you were scared of needles; no, you were a highly trained government agent. But you weren’t fond of them.
“All done,” You frowned and lifted your head, surprised that you hadn’t felt the typical pinch. Dr. Hamilton smiled pleasantly and readjusted the IV bag, slipping her stethoscope back into the pocket of her lab coat as she turned to leave.
“Get some rest agent. Feel better soon. And Alex, keep an eye on her.” Alex nodded her approval, relief filling her body as you cuddled up to her, still sniffling unhappily. She knew that she could take care of you on her own, but she was still glad she’d made you see Hamilton.
She had technically gone to medical school, well no, she had definitely gone to medical school, but she wasn’t a doctor—just a well-meaning girlfriend who would do anything to keep you safe.
“You mad?” You croaked, almost asleep as you finally let your body rest. You couldn’t exactly change where you were so you figured you might as well sleep.
“Never. Go to sleep, beautiful. We’ll go home as soon as the IV is done.” Alex promised, going back to pulling your fingers through your hair. Her nails dragged soothingly against your scalp, the motion continuing even after you’d fallen asleep. You loved this woman more than you could say and eventually, you’d get the guts to dig that stupid ring out of your sock drawer. For now, you’d settle for this. This was good.
Winter had always been Alex’s favourite season. The crisp, cool air and the occasional pile of unmeted snow that covered the curbs somehow always made her feel calm. She loved it all. However, there were inconveniences to the wintertime, namely slippery roads, frigid hands, and most prominently, sickness.
The flu had been sweeping its way through the DEO - it was bound too this time of year. With so many agents working in such close contact it was almost impossible to avoid. Not matter their rank or importance, it eventually made its way round the squad’s and not even the Director herself was spared.
Alex stood woozily in the control area, her hand clutching a crumpled-up tissue as she leant over the main desk, her other clumsily rubbing at her temple. She looked awful. Your soft hand came to slide round her waist from behind and the exhausted woman sank into your touch.
She coughed into her tissue, “Don’t come too close, you don’t want to catch this.” Alex warned through her croaking voice, yet she made no effort to move away.
“I’ll take that risk. You weren’t sick this morning, what happened?” You mumbled worriedly, burying your head into her neck, prompting her to rest her head against yours.
“The flu is characterised by a rapid on-set of symptoms. It’s been spreading like wildfire around here, you know that.” Alex whispered before her voice broke off into a hitch.
You felt her body tense up, and you quickly reached for a nearby tissue box, pulling out a fresh one and handing it to her just in time. Alex sneezed loudly, and you could tell she was trying her best to suppress it, but her body couldn't hold it back any longer.
“Bless you!” Kara called out as she came flying into the building (she’d just finished assisting the fire department with an accident downtown)
“And again, my my, bless you love.” You repeated her sister’s words, gently rubbing Alex's back as she sneezed for the second time. Her body felt warm against your touch, and you knew she was hopelessly fighting a fever.
"Thanks," Alex rasped weakly, her voice flooded with congestion as she pulled out of your hold to grab some tissues to blow her rapidly reddening nose.
"It's chaos here. I can't just stop working because I have the sniffles," Alex replied with a weak smile, trying to maintain her composure despite feeling so unwell. She knew her responsibilities at the DEO were crucial, after all, without her there to manage and dispatch agents who would keep things running smoothly?
She was stubborn, that was sure. It took another hour of misery before Alex reluctantly gave in and gave shuffling into the room where you were training some new recruits.
“Alright guys, that’s enough for today.” You dismissed the group, letting them leave the room before opening your arms and letting the feverish woman fold into them, “Your breathing sounds awful y’know.” You sighed, at the small raspy breathes coming from the woman in your hold.
“I’ve been told.” She muttered, keeping herself close to you, sniffling against your shoulder.
You shook your head lightly, “We should get you laying down. Come on.”
She continued to sniffle and sneeze as you gently guided her towards the infirmary. Her steps were slow and unsteady as the two of you made your way. Though you practically had to carry her up the stairs the two of you finally got her there, being met at the door by Kara and Lena.
“I called her,” Kara explained as Alex curled herself onto one of the medical beds.
Lena approached with a concerned expression, placing a hand on Alex's forehead before scanning a thermometer along her brow. "39 degrees, you're burning up, Alex. You should’ve rested when you first felt this coming on.” She said softly, glancing at you with gratitude for bringing Alex to the infirmary.
Kara hovered nearby, her super hearing detecting Alex's irregular breathing and rapid heartbeat. "I'll grab some water and a cool cloth," she suggested, zipping away and returning quickly with the items.
You stayed by Alex's side, gently wiping her forehead with the cool cloth as Kara handed her a glass of water. "Try to drink a little,love. It might help with the fever," you encouraged, giving her a reassuring smile as she held your hand, rubbing her thumb over your own.
Alex took a few sips, but it was evident that she was struggling to keep herself composed. "I... I hate being so out of commission," she admitted weakly, her eyes showing a mix of frustration and vulnerability.
Lena spoke softly, her caring tone trying to comfort her friend, “You need rest to recover properly. I’ve seen how hard you work yourself here, nobody’s going to forget that if you take a few days to look after yourself for a change.”
Kara nodded in agreement, sitting by Alex's side. "We'll take care of the DEO for now. You just focus on getting better," she said, giving you an affirming nod.
With concern etched on your face, you gently squeezed Alex's hand. "They're right, Alex. The DEO will be okay, and we'll handle things while you rest. You need to prioritize your health now."
Alex's tired eyes softened as she looked at you, appreciating the support from her friends and you. "Okay," she finally relented, realizing that she couldn't keep pushing herself like this. "But promise me you'll keep me updated on everything?"
"We promise," Lena replied, speaking for both her and Kara. "You can count on us."
Kara placed a reassuring hand on Alex's shoulder. "And I'll keep checking in on you, Lena’s gonna write you a prescription for some Tamiflu, I’ll pick it up and drop it off for you tonight.
With that said, you helped the shivering Director from the bed, letting her lean fully against you as you led her from the building. Where a DEO issued car was already waiting to pick you both up.
During the ride, Alex gave into her exhaustion and fell asleep against your shoulder. You held her close, running your hand through her silky hair. By the time you’d reached her studio, Alex was completely passed out. Nothing short of a city-wide invasion would be waking her now.
Carrying her up to her room, you made sure to tuck her safely into bed, gently pulling off her uniform and changing her into some softer, more comfortable clothes before climbing into the open space beside her, smiling as even in her sleep she snuggled up beside you.
“Sleep well baby.” You whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her head, “and you will be definitely taking a sick day tomorrow, Director Danvers.”
Idk if requests are open but can you please write Alex Danvers x female little reader who is autistic and has a sensory overload from yelling when she went to drop food off for her and Kara only to accidentally regress in front of Alex? Maybe the two of them have feelings for each other but both are scared to bring it up until Kara urges them both to confess their feelings to each other?
yeah requests are open! i just haven't been writing much, but will put this on my list <3. i've recently been diagnosed as autistic so i'd really love to write this one at some point, however im not into the idea of adding the romantic feelings if thats okay?
Sam Arias x Speedster!Reader; Ruby Arias x Female!Reader (platonic); Alex Danvers x Female!Reader
Summary: after a bad mission a certain you gain an admirer
Type: Fluff
Warning: mention of dead poeple (Reign is not soft)
word count: ~1297
--------
You recently moved on with your girlfriend, Samantha, and her daughter, Ruby. The little girl liked you a lot and was overjoyed when her mother announced her.Everything was very peaceful; to be honest, since you became who you are now, the two girls have been your safe haven. Even if you could run fast, you wished you could pause time whenever you were with them.But recently something felt wrong, and Sam seemed strange; it all started when she said she would go on a trip, but when she came back, she didn't remember. At first, you thought she was just tired, but things like this happened more, and the cherry on top was a new villain, a Kryptonian named Reign.
Today, Sam promised you she would be home early to spend the evening with you and Ruby, so you waited for her even if her daughter was too exhausted and went to sleep. It was past midnight when she came back. She was sound and safe, but something was weird; she seemed disconnected. "Sam?" you asked, and she looked at you puzzled.
"Y/n, what are you doing up? It's late," she said.
"I know, I've been waiting for you for like 3 hours," you replied dryly. She examined your angry face, then her eyes traveled to the table when she saw an empty champagne bottle. Thankful for your speedster's metabolism, you don't get drunk easily.
"Did I forget something?" she asked shyly, and you scuffed,
"Did you—are you okay, Sam?" you asked, annoyed by her attitude.
"Are you angry?" she asked carefully.
"Me? No, but her, yes" you replied, and she looked to the staires "She waited for you. You promised to be here tonight, Sam, not just for us but also for her. Honnestly I wouldn't be mad if it just missed a date, but we talk about Ruby." you said, and despite all your effort, she could hear the anger in your tone
"I'm sorry, Y/n I swear. It's just been so chaotic lately that I'm not sure what happened." She explained that while she took a step toward you, but you took a step back.
"I'm not the one to whom you should apologize," you replied, and you started to walk to your shared bedroom. She followed you, but she was confused when she saw you take a blanket and a pillow and leave the room.
"Where are you going, love?" she asked, and her voice cracked
"I have to work early tomorrow; I'll sleep on the couch until you talk with her. Good night, Samantha," you replied, and you headed to the living room.
The next morning, when Sam woke up, she was met by cold sheets by her side. She looked at the clock: 8:37 a.m. 'Shit' she thought. She quickly prepared herself, made her way to the kitchen, and found a note on the counter:
'I dropped Ruby at school. You can pick her up if you want to apologize. Good day, Samy'
She smiled at herself when she recognized your handwriting; of course you were upset with her, but it was the first time you called her Samy since she came back last night. Fortunately for you, Sam freed her sheldush and spent the afternoon with Ruby. On their way home, they decided to buy pizza—a lot of pizzas. It's not easy to calm the appetite of a speedster. At home, Ruby turned on the TV, and she quickly called her mom.
"From the information we received, the superhero Purple Lighting had been attacked by three men. She's not in danger, but her doctor is concerned about her health, and Supergirl appears to be nowhere after her defeat against Reign last night," the journalist said. Sam started to worry; she knew you were able to heal faster than any other human, but from the pictures they show, they didn't miss you.
Ruby noticed her mom was crying when her phone rang. She held it up to her mom and muttered, 'It's Alex'.
"Alex, tell me she's okay now," she demanded.
"She'll be fine; we'll bring her in two hours, don't worry. She could be a little fuzzy, but it's okay, she's alright." Alex replied. Two hours later, she kept her promise, and you were with your two favorite girls again.
"Hey girls, I'm home," you exclaimed when you came back. They broke your leg, some limbs, and your left wrist.
"Y/n!" Ruby greeted you with a hug, but of course she made sure not to touch your bandages.
"Hi, little princess. I missed you too," you replied while you ran your hand over her hair. Sam walked just after, and she started to cry. "Hey Samy. I'm sorry," you apologized. She shook her head and hugged you just after her daughter stepped aside. Her grip was firmer than usual, but that didn't bother you. You knew she was worried, so it was okay.
"I thought you were dead," she confessed. "Oh no, Arias, you should do more than that if you want to kill me," you said as you caressed her cheek. "And I can't leave you now; I have to marry you and cry with you when Ruby goes off to college," you joked. And the little Arias gasped.
"Wait, did you just?" she asked. and you played the dumb
"What? I don't know what you're talking about," you said, and she laughed. During your interaction with Ruby, you didn't note that her mother's eyes turned darker for a moment and she was focusing on your heartbeat to make sure you were okay. "I don't know about you, but I'm hungry," you exclaimed, and they led you to the couch. You spent the night with your favorite girls; Sam made up for the last night, and you were happy to see the smile on Ruby's face.
A few hours later, your girlfriend assisted you in cleaning, changing your clothes, and cleaning everything in your room. "Hey Samy baby, please come rest with me," you pouted, and she smiled,
"OK." She made her way to the bed and lied beside you. She examined your wounds. "Is it painful now?" she asked, and you nodded.
"Yeah, but don't worry, tomorrow I will be alright again." You kissed her. "Now come, I need to cuddle to forget this awful day," you whispered, and she carefully placed you on top of her. "I love you, Sam," you said softly.
"I love you too Y/n. Now rest," she said quietly, and you were fast asleep a few minutes later.
The next morning, you were woken up by your phone. You looked at the screen; it was Alex at 9 a.m.
"Hey Alex." You said,
"Sorry to bother you, but we have an update for the guys from yesterday." She replied,
"Oh," you were now fully awake. "Tell me, who are they?"
"That's the problem. We found their clothes and their weapons, but we didn't find them. At least not in one piece. It seems like Reign just burned them with her heat vision," she said, and you felt a knot in your throat.
"But why?" you asked, confused. "Since she destroyed Supergirl, why would she avenge another vigilante?" You added,
"We don't know, but I will call you if I have more information." She said, and she hung on.
You were about to leave when you noticed a note on the bed on Sam's side.
'It was just a threat for anyone who would want to attack you again ;)'
You frowned your eyebrows, and on the right corner, you noticed Reign's logo. You let out a nervous chuckle.
"So, does a Kryptonian who annihilated Kara seem to have a soft spot for me?" you asked no one, "Oh sh*t Y/n, you'll be in trouble."
Agent Danvers - Chapter 2
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Y/n) is numb.
Numb to Alex.
Numb to Kara.
Numb to her own mother.
Numb to all feeling.
Numb to the world.
Yes, both Alex and Kara were there, but (Y/n) had no want or need to accept or acknowledge their words of apology, for she only had eyes for the open casket at the front of the church.
Once the room had cleared, (Y/n) Danvers makes her way to the front of the room - towards her heart, which had since left her body a long time ago, and would remain with her deceased lover.
(Y/n) pulls a velvet box from the pocket of her black dress pants.
(Y/n) had thought that she could cry no more, but then a tear drops down onto her open palm, which the box had been resting in.
“I -” (Y/n) falters.
“(Y/n),” there is a voice crack from the speaker.
(Y/n) glances over her shoulder, acknowledging Natasha’s adopted sister, Yelena, with a sad nod.
“She loved you so much,” Yelena’s voice is soft.
(Y/n) bites her lip. “I loved her, I still do. She’ll always have my heart.”
“I helped her pick this out,” Yelena pulls something out of her pocket and (Y/n)’s lip trembles.
(Y/n) takes the box from Yelena, and slides it, as well as the one in her hand, into her pocket.
. . .
(Y/n) had taken a place on Kara’s couch, to far in her own sadness to return to the apartment that she and Natasha had shared.
“Guardian angel or human wrecking ball?” the news anchor says.
“What?” Kara asks, sitting on the opposite couch to (Y/n), who was fast asleep.
There is destruction all over Otto Binder Bridge. And one . . . “
“Well, you try saving a plane for the first time,” Kara says, standing up. “See if you don’t make a mess.”
“Oh my god,” Alex is standing behind Kara, her eyes wide with shock.
“I know,” Kara looks excited. “It’s incredible!”
Kara hugs her adopted sister tightly and Alex’s bones crack. “Ow!” Alex exclaims, waking (Y/n) from her slumber.
“Oh sorry. That was . . . That was too hard. I’m just . . . I’m so excited,” Kara says.
(Y/n) slowly sits up on the couch, watching her two older sisters, her hand coming to fiddle with the two rings on the chain around her neck.
“I still can’t believe I did it,” Kara says.
“Yeah,” Alex says. “Neither can I. Are you okay?” Alex asks. “I need a drink.”
“I’ll take something too,” (Y/n) says softly.
“You can have water,” Alex looks at her youngest sister.
(Y/n) sighs, but accepts the water bottle from Kara, taking a sip.
“It has been so long. I almost forgot how to fly,” Kara says and (Y/n) chokes on her water. “Well, not so much ‘how’ but more, how it feels . . . like, scared, but good scared. Like, the moment right before you kiss someone for the first time.”
Kara brings Alex a glass of scotch and Alex drinks it all at once.
“And now it’s like . . . I’m not sure what comes next,” Kara says. “Or maybe I am sure and I’m just afraid of what it means.”
“What were you thinking?” Alex asks abruptly.
(Y/n) stands up, shrugging off the blanket she had been wearing, and Alex’s gaze softens when she realizes that (Y/n) is wearing Natasha’s high school letterman jacket.
(Y/n) trudges to the bathroom.
“You exposed yourself,” Alex says, turning to Kara after (Y/n) had gone to the bathroom. “To the world. You’re out there now, Kara. Everyone will know about you and you can’t take that back,” Alex goes on.
“I - I don’t want to,” Kara says. “This is what I was talking about, Alex.” Kara walks towards the TV. “I’ve always felt the need to help people and I finally got my chance. I - I didn’t travel two-thousand light-years just to be an assistant.”
“What if people figure out who you are?” Alex asks. “What you are?” Alex leans in a little. “It’s - it’s not safe for you to do anything like that. Ever again. You could put (Y/n) in danger.”
“I can look after myself,” (Y/n) mutters, returning from the bathroom.
“I’m kind of tired, I . . . “ Kara says and (Y/n) pushes away her sorrow for a moment, focusing on her blonde sister. “I’m gonna go to bed. You should go.”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Alex turns, walking out the door.
When Kara turns towards (Y/n), (Y/n) can see her own pain reflected in Kara’s eyes.
(Y/n) steps forward, comforting her older sister with a hug.
Kara relaxes into the hug.
. . .
(Y/n) had returned reluctantly to work a few days later.
Cat Grant emerges from her office around lunch. She pauses beside (Y/n)’s desk, realizing that she hadn’t seen Natasha yet.
“Where is your cute redheaded girlfriend?” Ms. Grant asks.
“She . . . Plane . . . “ (Y/n) says, a pained expression crossing her face at the thought.
Kara, sitting at her desk across from (Y/n)’s, quickly stands up, and mutters something in Ms. Grant’s ear, and a once in a lifetime look - one of sympathy - crosses Cat Grant’s face.
(Y/n) smiles slightly and Cat nods, walking away.
The smile slides off (Y/n)’s face as soon as Cat walks away. (Y/n) lets out a pained sigh, going back to her computer.
Alex Danvers x Kryptonian!Reader - I Will Always Love You
Tumblr media
Requested by Anon - Alex Danvers imagine where R is kryptonian. Alex and R recently get engaged, R goes on a mission w/ Kara gets badly injured and left behind. Kara tells Alex that R is dead and then like months later (maybe the date of the wedding) R comes back. Fluff and angst, manly angst.
Warning - Naaaahhhhhhh
Note - Sorry Anon, I am the worst at angst, but...I tried...
Remember you can send in requests!
“Be careful.” Alex muttered. “I don't want you getting hurt.”
“I know.” You whispered back, placing your hand on Alex’s cheek and stroked her cheekbone. “I’ll be fine. I’m not bulletproof for nothing.” You gave Alex a quick kiss before lifting her hand and kissing the ring that adorned the fourth finger of her left hand. “I love you Alex.”
“I love you too.” Alex replied. You smiled at her before following Kara out of the D.E.O. Alex watched you go with a worried frown, holding her left hand close.
Tumblr media
You and Kara were overwhelmed. It seemed that Cadmus had sent all of their agents to capture you and Supergirl. The two of you were on opposite sides of the room, fighting at least twenty Cadmus agents each. You didn't notice the Kryptonite until it was too late. You felt the blade pierce your shoulder from the back and enter from the front. You let out a bloodcurdling scream as you fell to your knees. “(Your/Super/Name)!” Supergirl screamed. The Cadmus agents around you closed in.
“Get out of here Supergirl!” You cried, “Get back to Alex!”
“I’m not leaving you (Y/S/N).”
“Go!” Supergirl gave you one last reluctant look before breaking past the agents around her and flying off. You watched with tears in your eyes as you were locked in Kryptonite cuffs and hauled away. Just as you were pulled into a van, the warehouse you were in exploded.
Tumblr media
Supergirl landed in the D.E.O with a solemn look on her face. “Kara!” Alex called, jogging up to her adoptive sister, “How’d it go?” Tears started to form in Kara’s eyes, “W-Where’s (Y/N)?” The tears fell from Kara’s eyes. “Supergirl where is she?!”
“She’s gone.” Kara whispered. Alex’s breath caught in her throat.
“No…”
“She was stabbed with a blade made of Kryptonite, and...she told me to leave so I flew up and the entire warehouse exploded. I-I checked and I couldn't find any trace of her or the Cadmus agents...I’m sorry Alex.” Alex’s legs shook. She fell to her knees, her eyes staring blankly at the world in front of her. Alex cradled her left hand against her chest as tears started to fall down her cheeks. Alex wailed, leaning forward as she cried.
You were strapped to a bed, a Red-Sun Lamp above you, rendering you powerless. A lone figure walked into the room in a pristine suit and a wicked smirk. “Now, (Y/S/N), let's get started.” Lilian Luthor said as she brandished a glowing green needle.
Tumblr media
Alex packed away all of her wedding plans into a box. You had been planning your wedding for months, and now there was no point keeping anything. “Are you sure your ok?” Kara asked softly.
“I’m fine.” Alex muttered, putting the lid on the box, “She’s gone. I can't do anything about that.” Kara frowned as Alex picked up the box and put it in the cupboard.
Tumblr media
You crawled out of the cave in the middle of nowhere. You had scratches all over your body, your suit was in tatters, and since you had been trapped in a cave for Rao knows how long, you were powerless. You managed to pull yourself onto your feet, holding your possibly broken arm to your chest as you trudged to where you could see the closest sign of human life.
Tumblr media
“Alex!” Kara exclaimed, flying into her apartment. Alex jumped, turning to her sister.
“Don't do that.” Alex sighed, putting her book down, “Why are you here?”
“I need you to change.” Alex frowned as Kara walked over to her closet and pulled out a dress bag, showing it to Alex.
“Kara, no.” Alex said, standing, “I am not putting that on.”
“Come on, please. I have something to show you but you need to be in the dress.” Alex walked over to Kara and reluctantly took the dress.
“Fine. But if something bad happens, I’m asking J’onn to punch you for me.”
Tumblr media
“Kara, where are we?” Alex asked. Kara had made Alex change into the dress she chose for her wedding, much to her chargin, blindfolded her, and lead her to an unknown location. “And why can I smell...Carnations…” Alex’s mood dampened.
“Don't worry.” Kara assured. “Everything’s ok.” Kara’s slim fingers undid the knot behind her head, letting her blindfold fall. Alex’s breath caught in her throat. A small ceremony had been set up, Alex’s family on one side and yours on the other. J’onn was standing at the front of the aisle, a smile on his face. Alex’s eyes trailed over to you. You were dressed in a pristine (Suit/Dress), your hair and makeup perfect. Your left arm was in a cast and had to use a crutch to stand up. You smiled softly.
“You organised this?” Alex whispered.
“Yeah. She called me and told me where she was. She came back.”Alex sobbed, running towards you. She threw her arms around you when she was close. You staggered back.
“Alex, no powers.” You groaned. Alex let go instantly.
“Sorry.” She apologised. “What is this anyway.”
“A wedding.” Alex’s eyes widened. “We were engaged before I died, right? If you have me, then I’ll marry you right now.”
“Yes, yes I’ll marry you.”
Tumblr media
The ceremony was small and intimate, just what you two wanted. That night, you were laying in your bed, Alex beside you and snuggled into your side. She refused to leave your side since you had reunited. “I missed you so much.” Alex whispered.
“I did too.” You replied, running your fingers up and down Alex’s bare arm. “All those months I was trapped...I thought of you and that’s how I stayed strong.”
“Where were you anyway?”
“New Hampshire. Lilian Luthor decided to figure out how different Kryptonians were from Humans and used me as a test subject. She had a Red Sun Lamp, Alex. I was powerless...still am…”
“Hey…” Alex lifted her head so that she was looking at you, “Your home, that’s what matters.” You smiled softly. Alex leant forward and pressed a gentle kiss to your lips. Truly, it was a blessed day now that you two were reunited.
Haven’t Forgotten My Way Home [4] - (CONVERTED)
Pairing: Kara Zor-El x Female!Reader
Summary: In the D/s society of National City, men and women abandoned by their Dom/mes or otherwise deemed unfit for life “outside” end up at the Mount Overland House for Orphaned Submissives. It is here that Kara Zor-El finds Y/N Hastings, broken and fearful from mistreatment at the hands of her former Dom. Can Kara coax Y/N back into the world that once so terrified her, and show her the true meaning of care and submission?
Warnings: Domestic Violence (Flashbacks, Mentions and Descriptions), Misogyny, Domination/Submission.
A/N: This is really one of my favorite stories. I’ve it so many different times in so many different fandoms and wanted to put it in another one! In this, Kara and Alex are not sisters, Kara isn’t an alien which means she isn’t supergirl. Just wanna give another note that this story is NOT mine. I did not come with the plot, I just switched out the names of characters and places, that is all. Credit goes to itsfaberrytaboo on Ao3!
Sometimes, there’s advance warning. A scratchy feeling in the throat, waking up sniffling because your nose isn’t quite clear. An achy feeling in the muscles, an unsettling of the stomach. But sometimes, there is no warning at all. Sometimes, you wake up at 2 the morning before you’re supposed to visit an important person at Mount Overland House, and you barely make it to the bathroom. And for Kara Zor-El, the flu lasted a week. One long, miserable week of barely being able to keep anything down, being near dehydration. She was hardly able to make it up even to feed Arnie, and if it hadn’t been for Alex and Maggie coming in to check on her every day, she was thoroughly convinced she would die alone and the authorities would find her tragically gorgeous corpse on the floor. “You’re so melodramatic,” Alex had rolled her eyes that first day, seizing up her cell phone and switching it off, tossing it into a drawer underneath her coffee table. “It would make a good obituary,” Kara had croaked, rolling over on her side on the couch, clutching her stomach. “Beautiful, Talented Woman Struck Down Before Her Prime; Thousands Mourn.”
But thankfully, she hadn’t died, there was no need for thousands to mourn, and she could tuck her newly-created Funeral Playlist into a notebook on her desk. It had taken her two days to find her cell phone from where Alex had tossed it, and Kara furrowed her brow that Monday morning when she switched it on and found five voicemails. She dialed quickly. Each successive message made her stomach churn, but this time, it wasn’t the flu. “Miss Zor-El? This is Director Nia, just trying to get in touch with you.” “Ma’am? Nia Nal again, are you all right? I need you to call me as soon as possible please.” “I don’t know where you are, but please call; I’m not sure what… just call.” “Miss Zor-El, Nia here. Please excuse me, but what the heck do you think you’re doing? Where are you?” “Okay well I guess you’re not coming back until your next inspection. See you then. … She’ll probably still be here, though I doubt you care.” The car squealed out of the driveway of her home, and ten minutes later, into the parking lot of Mount Overland House. “No.” Kara stared at him. “Excuse me?” The orderly folded his arms over his chest and looked down at her. She didn’t look like much of a Domme, he thought. Tiny and thin, even if her legs did seem to stretch for miles clad in blue jeans, topped with a simple blue blouse. But who could she dominate, a midget? “I’ve been instructed not to let you in.” “Oh really.” Kara took a deep breath, and drew herself up to her full height. Which, okay, yes, five foot two wasn’t much, but she could make it work. She stepped forward with a smirk and felt a twinge of triumph when the orderly actually stepped back. “I am Kara Sophia Zor-El, employed by the National City government, in the agency that is the Department for Rehabilitation Services. Do you see this badge?” She held it up, shoving it into his face so that he could well see her identification picture on the front. “This badge guarantees that no one will be ‘instructed’ not to let me in. Now you will step aside, or I will bring the full force of the government down on this House, on Director Nia, and you.” Kara tilted her head and then smoothed her blouse, smiling pleasantly at the orderly and softening her voice. “And I’ll call your Dom.” The reaction was instantaneous; the orderly stepped back hastily and Kara walked straight into the House. Her first glance was to the corner, and what she saw made her heart plummet to the floor. Y/N was sat in her chair, her hands folded in her lap. Her sweatpants and tee-shirt were dirty; her hair was greasy and unwashed, her eyes cloudy and lost. “So you finally showed up. Is it Adopt an Orphan Week again?” Kara turned to Director Nia, fire flashing in her eyes. “Back down,” she said sternly, and then reached into the folder she held at her side. “Verification of doctor’s visit, showing that I have been suffering from the flu for the last week.” Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a small medicine bottle. “The medication I took this week to help lessen my symptoms and speed up the healing process.” She turned her gaze back to Y/N, and it took all of her effort to keep tears from trickling down her face. “She waited for you. The whole day, at the games table. She had it all set up. And you. Didn’t. Show.” “I was sick.” “Too sick to pick up the phone?” Kara sighed, and looked back at Nia. “I made a mistake,” she said softly. “And now I’ll fix it.” “And how do you plan on doing that? Look at her.” “I see it,” Kara said. “I’m sorry, Nia.” Director Nia offered Kara a half-hearted smile. “Go on,” she said, giving Kara a gentle shove. “Now you’ve got even more to prove.” “I know,” Kara said, almost to herself as she walked over to Y/N. Rather than choose the bench, Kara picked up a chair from the games table as she passed by it, setting it down in front of Y/N and taking a seat. Kara wrinkled her nose; Y/N really needed a bath. But she ignored that for a moment, and leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees as she looked at her. “Y/N,” Kara said quietly, her voice unsteady. “Y/N, look at me.” She didn’t. All right then, Kara thought. They were going to do this the hard way again. She could handle it. Once again she pulled the papers out from the folder and the medicine bottle from her pocket. “Y/N… I am so sorry. I was sick, really sick with the flu. But that’s no excuse for not calling here and finding a way to let you know that I didn’t just… that I wasn’t… Y/N, I didn’t leave you.” She was aware that her voice was sounding slightly panicked, and so she cleared her throat. “I handled this all wrong. I shouldn’t have pushed you to talk to me and then stop talking to you the moment I get a little stomachache. Although it wasn’t really a little stomachache, I swear I felt like I had been run over by-“ Kara stopped short with a gasp, and she palmed her forehead with her hand. “I am such an idiot,” she said, and a tear finally did streak down her cheek. She looked up at Y/N, who was still staring off into space. “I was sick,” Kara said again. “I was sick; I should have found some way to call. I didn’t leave you, and I am so, so sorry, Y/N. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” There was no response, and Kara leaned back against the chair, sighing. What are you doing, Kara? She asked herself. Why are you doing it? Do you think you can save her? You’ve never even had a submissive before. And it wasn’t like she even wanted Y/N as hers. She just wanted Y/N… to be better. To be out of that chair. To smile. To laugh. Maybe even to sing. Then again not everyone could sing. And they especially couldn’t sing like Kara Zor-El. Wait, she was getting off track. “You deserve better than this,” Kara found herself saying. “You deserve better than this, than him, and I’m trying to… help you see what you deserve, but I need you to tell me if you want me to continue to be here. If you don’t want me to, say Red and I’ll be gone, I won’t bother you anymore and you won’t have to worry about me being sick and too stupid to call. But if you want me to stay, well. You know what to say. It’s your choice, Y/N.” She looked up and met the girl’s eyes, whether Y/N was really looking at her or not. “It’s your choice,” Kara repeated. There was silence. Kara just sat there, looking at the residents playing their board games. She remembered Monopoly, how easily Y/N had defeated her. How a little bit of light had come back into her eyes. How she seemed… if not happy, at least easy, comfortable. She glanced at the television, where some silly teen show was playing. Stay away from him, Kara thought, watching the female lead pine after some boy. He’s not good enough for you. She wished she could go back in time, shake some sense into Y/N’s parents. Keep him away from her. He’s not good enough. “Green.” Kara’s gaze whipped back to Y/N, who was staring at her with wide, still somewhat fearful eyes. “W-what?” Kara whispered, barely able to believe what she’d just heard. Y/N hesitated. “Green,” she repeated. Kara wiped the tear away with the back of her hand, laughing a little as she did so. “I owe you a lot of board games to make up for it, don’t I?” she joked, but smiled at Y/N. “Are you all right?” she asked. “Have you been eating? You um… clearly haven’t been bathing.” Y/N shrugged. “No point.” Kara quirked an eyebrow. “There is always a point to bathing, and I think you need to rediscover that.” She stood up and moved around to the back of Y/N’s wheelchair, settling her hands on it. She could see Y/N tense in front of her, and Kara nodded. “I want you to bathe,” she said. “We can get Ruby to help you, or you can do it yourself, but you’re going to take a bath.” She paused. “Green, yellow, red.” Again, a hesitation, but the answer came, soft and unsteady. “Green.” Kara smiled. “Good girl, Y/N. Good girl.” It didn’t take long for Nia to locate Ruby Arias, as she was giving dance lessons in one of the other rooms down the hall. She moved towards Kara on long, lean dancer’s legs, and Kara marveled at how graceful she made the simple action seem. Her silver collar glittered in the bright lights of the common room, and she respectfully tipped her head towards Kara as she came to stand with her and Y/N. “Thank you for your help,” Kara said. “I know Y/N here hasn’t let you give her a bath lately, but I think that’s about to change now.” She winked at Ruby. “I guess you wear many hats around here.” “Not really?” Ruby said, her head tipped in confusion. “Sir doesn’t really like me in hats, and besides, they’d fly off while I’m dancing…” Kara blinked in confusion. “That wasn’t… really what I meant, but all right. So you have a Sir?” Ruby nodded happily as she, Kara, and Y/N made their way into the elevator and up to Y/N’s floor, to the bathroom at the very end of the hall. “Sam,” she said. “And he’s the best Dom ever. I love him so much.” It always made her feel glad to hear about submissives who were happy with their Dominants; in Kara’s line of work she really didn’t get to see that side very often. But it was nice to be reminded that there were good relationships out there, ones based on mutual love and understanding, where both parties took care of each other. The kind of relationship she wanted to have, eventually. Kara peeked inside the bathroom, making a small hum of approval when she saw the ample space, punctuated by an old-fashioned, claw foot bathtub in the center.  Done in classy black and white, towels lined the walls, as did all the shampoo and soap or body wash you could ever need. She wouldn’t have minded having a bathroom like this at her house. Maybe a redesign was in order… She wheeled Y/N into the bathroom, but placed a hand on Ruby’s arm when the other blonde moved to start the water running.”I’ll do it,” Kara said, and knelt by the tub to turn on the faucet. She ran her hand under the stream, judging the temperature with her fingertips. When it reached a level she was satisfied with, she quickly plugged the drain, and then stood up to select one of the bottles of body wash. She looked at the labels, then back at Y/N. “What scents do you like the best, Y/N?” “It doesn’t-“ “Y/N.” “… mango.” Kara’s eyebrows flew upward, and she couldn’t help but grin. “Mango’s always a good choice,” she said. Taking the bottle, she quickly squirted some under the stream of water, and watched for a moment as the tub began to fill up with bubbles. “There we are.” She nodded at Ruby. “Let’s get her undressed.” “Y-yellow.” Kara quickly held her hand out to stop Ruby again, and moved to squat down in front of Y/N. “What is it?” she asked. Y/N looked from her, to Ruby, and back again. Kara nodded, understanding. “Ruby,” she said pleasantly, smiling at the girl, “Thank you for your help, but I think Y/N and I have it from here.” Ruby shrugged. “See you later, Y/N!” she said, and then nearly bounced out of the room. Kara chuckled, and looked at Y/N from her position still half-kneeling in front of her. “She has a lot of energy, doesn’t she?” She turned serious then. “Would you like to bathe yourself?” she asked. “I can stay right outside the door if you need me.” She moved away for a moment, but only to shut off the water rushing into the tub. She checked it to make sure it was still an acceptable temperature, and then Kara wiped the suds off her hands with a towel. “Or,” she said carefully, “I can stay and help you. I can’t lift you, so you’ll have to work a little bit, but I’ll… I’ll take care of you.” “Y-you won’t let me fall?” Y/N stared down at her useless legs. Kara shook her head sadly. “I won’t let you fall,” she promised. “Green, yellow, red.” Then Y/N nodded. “Green,” she whispered. “All right,” Kara said. “Good girl. I’m just going to… help you with your shirt off. Lift your arms up, Y/N.” In seconds the Y/H/C girl was divested of her dirty blue tee-shirt, and Kara found herself rocked back on her heels, staring in shock. If it had been a different situation, Kara might have noticed how pale/tan the skin was, how it seemed to fit her. She may have noticed Y/N’s breasts, small but still beautiful – and Kara might have commented (to herself of course) how they were perfect for hands, her hands.  She would’ve noticed how Y/N’s nipples hardened into stiff peaks in the cold bathroom air, how the skin around them puckered into tiny little bumps and made them stand out all the more. But all that Kara could see, all that swam before her eyes as best they could with the tears rushing into them again… were the scars. Y/N was thin, too thin, with her ribs prominent and over them, a few scars that crisscrossed or seemed to run down to her hips. They weren’t many, but they were long, and they were old. Clearly inflicted by someone who didn’t know what he was doing. Or care. “Oh, Y/N,” Kara breathed, her voice cracking. “Y/N, I’m so-“ “R-Red?” Kara froze, her gaze shooting to Y/N’s face. Y/N was shaking a little; she seemed to be mouthing the word, as if she was unsure she could say it. “You can,” Kara assured her immediately. “You can say red.” Red,” Y/N said again. “About…” she gestured towards her chest. “Red, Miss Kara, please.” “Okay,” Kara said, sniffing and blinking past the tears for the second time that day. Y/N didn’t want to talk about it. Maybe she would eventually, but not now, not yet, and Kara wasn’t going to force her. Standing up, Kara dared to reach down and rest her hand on Y/N’s bare shoulder. “I need you to help me get you stood up, Y/N,” she said. Looking round she saw a metal bar on the wall nearest them, and she gestured towards it with her chin. “Do you think you can help by holding on to that, just until we get your pants and underwear off? Then we’ll get you into the tub and wash you all clean.” “Clean,” Y/N echoed, her eyes taking on a sudden faraway look. Then it cleared and she swallowed, nodding at Kara. “I can do it.” Kara beamed and maneuvered the wheelchair over to where Y/N could grasp the bar, and then leaned down again. “I’m going to put my arms around your waist,” she said, “Then I’m going to help you up.” Catching a little glimmer of fear in Y/N’s eyes, Kara touched her shoulder again. “I will never do anything you don’t want me to do,” she reiterated. “I’m just going to help you up. Ready?” “R-ready.” She was so thin and weak that really, it was easy for Kara to hoist her up, as small as she was herself. She felt Y/N waver; when she pulled back she could see the girl’s face straining with the effort. “Hold on, Y/N,” Kara said, her hands moving to the waistband of the sweatpants. “This will just take a minute. Green, yellow, red.” “G-green.” Quickly Kara had both the pants and the girl’s underwear down around her ankles; gently she lifted each foot to pull the clothing free, and she tossed it to the other side of the room. Three more seconds and Y/N was seated back in her wheelchair, now completely naked in front of Kara, and looking everywhere but at the petite blonde. There were more scars on Y/N’s legs, across her hips, but Kara said nothing. Instead she willed herself to smile. “Good girl, Y/N,” she praised. “Thank you for helping me. Are you ready to get into the tub now?” Y/N was breathing heavily from holding herself up, but she nodded. “Use your voice, Y/N. It’s time for you to stop being quiet.” Her eyes widened, but Y/N immediately responded. “Yes, Miss Kara.” It was going to be a little harder, she knew, to get Y/N from the chair to the bathtub, especially since there wasn’t really a rim of the tub for Y/N to settle herself or anchor on. But after a few missteps and some strategy, soon she was lowering herself into the water, and Kara giggled when a happy sigh escaped Y/N’s lips as she rested her back against the tub. “Does that feel nice?” Kara asked. Y/N nodded sheepishly. “Thank you, Miss Kara.” “You’re welcome. I don’t have to stay,” Kara pointed out again. “I can wait outside until you’re finished and ready to dry off.” “P-please don’t go.” “All right,” Kara agreed, and then knelt by the tub at Y/N’s side. Quickly she unbuttoned the sleeves of her blouse and rolled them up past her elbows, then reached out for the cup that had been sitting on the sink. “Let’s start with your hair,” she said, dipping the cup into the water and gently wetting Y/N’s blonde locks. She ran her fingers through Y/N’s hair; even though it was dirty she marveled at the length, at the apparent softness of it. It was as though she had, at one time, taken a great deal of pride in her appearance. Kara wondered if that was born out of an actual want to look good, or a necessity for her Dom. She decided not to ask, and continued until every strand of hair was soaking. Y/N’s eyes were closed as Kara squirted some shampoo in her palm and began to work it into lather before gently smoothing it through her hair. She didn’t miss another quiet sigh that Y/N gave when Kara massaged her scalp and temples, and so she did it probably for longer than was necessary. But Y/N was enjoying a simple pleasure, and Kara felt like she could do it forever if it made her happy. “You need to bathe regularly. It’s essential for good hygiene, and not only that, it’ll make you feel better. I’d really rather not visit again and find you in the state you were in today.” “You said you’re not my Dominant.” Kara’s hands stilled for a moment, before taking up their ministrations again. “No, I am not. But I think in the end you will see that I’m right. I’m always right, except for that one time five years ago. It’s a very rare occurrence, my being wrong.” Kara giggled, and was heartened when Y/N did the same, even though it was soft and not as buoyant as her own. But that was all right; it was something. She had to wash Y/N’s hair twice to get it clean, but Kara’s effort was rewarded when the wet tresses took on a shine, and she wondered if Ruby had ever spent this much time bathing the other girl. She absurdly hoped that she hadn’t, and that Kara was the only one. At last she put some of the mango body wash on a cloth, and gently pushed on Y/N’s shoulder. “Lean forward and I’ll wash your back.” Y/N didn’t move. “Y/N?” The girl leaned forward, and Kara’s breath caught in her throat. Kara had seen a lot of things, in her time with SETS, but nothing could have prepared her for the mass of scars that was Y/N Hastings’ back. They had been built up over years at the hands of her former Dom, but though they were old, it didn’t make it any better. She itched, no, Kara craved to jump up out of that bathroom, to hunt down James Olsen and have him dragged before the judiciary for abuse… but two words, echoing in the stillness of the bathroom, stopped her. “They’re ugly.” Kara flexed the fingers of her hands, then, as gently as she could possibly muster, she began to wash Y/N’s back. “You’re beautiful.” “Miss Kara?” “Yes, Y/N.” “A-am I… am I a good girl?” Kara tilted the cup over Y/N’s back, watching as the warm water pushed away the remnants of the soap, wishing it could heal the scars. All of them. Tentatively she reached out and laid her hand, palm flat, on the girl’s skin. Feeling its roughness. She could feel Y/N flinch away from her, but Kara’s hand stayed. She wondered if Y/N had ever been touched gently. She wondered if she was the first. Somehow, the thought made her happy. “You’re a good girl, Y/N,” Kara said, and only then did she remove her hand. She moved slightly so that she could look at Y/N’s face, and was surprised to see tears streaming down her cheeks. Kara touched her again, this time her fingers closing around Y/N’s forearm. “You’re a very good girl.” She’d only heard about this, she’d never experienced it herself. But seeing Maggie’s interactions with Alex clued Kara in to the fact that some submissives needed to feel as if they were good, needed to constantly be told that a person was proud of them, a person was pleased with what they were doing. Kara imagined that with Y/N, it was multiplied hundredfold, because she doubted that her Dominant had ever made her feel as if she was valued. “M-miss Kara?” Y/N hiccuped a little and wiped her eyes with the back of her other hand before turning back to Kara, her hazel eyes glistening. “Yes, Y/N.” Kara said again. “If you… i-if you have to be gone again, c-can you find... some way to let me know?” Kara’s eyes lit up. What was this? Was Y/N asking for something, and more importantly, asking for something that Kara knew she could give her? This, Kara thought, this was progress. Even if it did make her feel guilty again for not having called the House while she was sick. Kara opened her mouth, about to promise that she would always call if she couldn’t make it for a visit. About to give Y/N her phone number, just in case Y/N ever needed to call her. But then she tilted her head. “I think,” she said slowly, “I think I have a better idea.”
“New Friendship” An Alex Danvers imagine
Tumblr media
It was Friday night, easily your favorite day of the week. The last five days had been rough to say the least. Your boss gave you about five hundred reports to read over also you and your girlfriend of three years decided to end things. The less than easy week gave you a great excuse to have a few drinks and play some pool at the secret alien bar M’gann showed you.
When you walked in the bar really only consisted of its regulars and a few people you’d never seen before. After getting a drink from the bar, you made your way over to the pool table. However, you noticed a woman already setting up for a game.
“Are you playing alone?” You asked taking a sip of your drink.
“Yep. Wanna join?”
“Yeah sure. I’m y/n by the way.”
“Im Alex Danvers, nice to meet you.”
“Yeah nice to meet you too. Do you come here often? I know that sounds like a pick up line but I promise it wasn’t. I just come here a lot and haven’t seen you.” You nervously laughed.
“I’m usually here with my friends but we only come on Saturdays.” She said with one of the most beautiful smiles you had ever seen.
“That’s why I’ve never seen you. I only come on Fridays.”
“If you beat me at this pool game, you win an invite to hang out tomorrow night.”
“And if I loose?”
“Then you buy me a drink.”
“You’re on, Alex.”
You ended up winning the game and secured your invite to hang out with Alex and her friends the next night. You exchanged numbers before leaving for the night. The next night, you arrived at the bar and immediately noticed a large group sitting in the corner.
“Hey y/n, over here.” Alex called out. You happily walked over even with everyone in the groups eyes on you.
“Guys this is my new friend, y/n. Y/n, this is everyone.”
“Hi y/n! I’m Kara.” A blonde girl with glasses said with a proud smile.
“And I’m Winn.” A guy wearing a button up said.
“James Olson, nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you guys too. Thanks for letting me join, Alex said this is a pretty serious thing.”
“The only thing more serious is game night.” Winn said making everyone giggle.
“If you make a good impression, Kara might let you come to game night.” James whispered as you sat down between him and Alex.
You sat and talked to Alex’s friends for a while. You learned that they all worked at CatCo doing various things. While Alex was away getting drinks, Kara informed you of her break up with some detective named Maggie.
“She’s pretty sad about it so we try not to talk about her.” Kara explained before her sister came back.
“Hey, whose up for a game of pool?” Alex asked looking primarily at you.
“I’d love to but I think it’s time to head home. I need to edit some pictures for Cat.” James said before telling everyone goodbye.
“Yeah I better head out too. I promised Eve I would fix her laptop before Monday. See you guys around.” Winn exited the bar just leaving you, Alex, and Kara.
Suddenly sires were blaring, Alex and Kara exchanged knowing glances while you stood back in confusion.
“Um…I just remembered I have a deadline for tomorrow morning. I’ll see you guys later. I was nice meeting you y/n.” Before you could say goodbye Kara was already running out the door.
“Looks like it’s just us again.” You smiled at took the first shot of the game.
“Loser pays the tab.” Alex said with a michevious grin.
That time you lost miserably. Alex split the bar tab with you and then you walked her out to her motorcycle.
“I liked your friends. They all seem nice.”
“Yeah they’re great. I could tell they liked you.”
“Really?”
“Mhm. Winn doesn’t laugh at just anyone’s jokes.”
“I’m honored.” You placed your hand over your heart making Alex roll her eyes.
“I know you just got out of a relationship but, I would really like to take you out sometime, Alex.” Alex’s eyes widened making you think you just ruined everything.
