E N H Y P E N in an Apocalypse

part one

pairings: nishimura riki x reader

summary: you are in your school when the outbreak happened. lucky for you, your bestfriend ni-ki was there to protect and take care of you.

short background: before the outbreak happened, the spread of the infection happened when one of the student went to the science laboratory and got bitten by an infected animal.

"That's Ni-ki! Bye, Dad!" you stood up right away from your seat while trying to fit as much food that you can take inside your mouth.

"W-Wait. Aren't you going to finish your breakfast first?" your father followed and watched your every move.

With mouth full of food, you quickly went around gathering your things and fixing yourself. You're in the middle of eating your breakfast with your Dad when you heard the doorbell rang. You are very much sure that its your best-friend, Ni-ki.

"Slow down, y/n!" you even heard your father reminded you while you stumble your way over to the your door.

You glanced at him smiling so wide before you waved as good-bye then pushed the door open using your body.

Ni-ki, whose leaning by the balcony of your apartment building glanced at you and smirked seeing your cheeks stuffed with food. He turned his back at the balcony to face you while grinning, ready to tease you already.

"Hurry up, slow poke." he teased that made you turn your head at his direction.

"You're so annoying!" your words came out as a mumble because your mouth is still full of food.

Ni-ki laughs at you before walking closer, smoothly pulling out his tumbler out from his bag to hand it over to you. With confused eyes you glanced at it then back at him. He rolled his eyes and opened it for you.

"Drink. I can't understand anything you're saying."

You were glaring at him but accepted his offer. He just scoffed because of your attitude and watched carefully as you take a sip from his tumbler. He sighed and you blushed a bit when he noticed how his stares remained at you.

While you're still at it, Ni-ki gently grabs your things to carry them himself.

You two grew up together and so you basically know him his whole life. He's your best friend but you secretly have feelings for him. Sometimes, you give hints to him but you don't know if he's ignoring it or he's just really dense. You also doubt if he likes you because he often tease you and treat you like you're not a girl.

"Yah, I told you to wake up early last night, didn't I?" he said and was looking at you with squinted eyes.

You flashed him a sweet smile, guilty that you did stayed up late, the main reason why you couldn't wake up early to prepare for school. After successfully swallowing the food inside your mouth, you asked Ni-ki to turn around so you can put his tumbler back inside. He obliged and he started discussing something about this new game he's obsessing about.

Your mornings with Ni-ki starts with him picking you up here at your home then the two of you will walk your way to school. Its been your routine ever since and honestly you cherish this moments with him.

"By the way, you're coming later right?" he asked you suddenly and even stopped from walking that made you bumped into him.

You grunted and massaged your forehead. Ni-ki chuckled at your clumsiness and so you shoot him glares. "You're so stupid. Come here." he was still chuckling while he gently grabs your arm to put you ahead of him where he can perfectly see you.

"How many times would I tell you to always walk ahead of me?"

You rolled your eyes, "Where are you going later?" you divert the topic right away because its too early for his scolding.

Ni-ki raised a brow at you before smoothly throwing his arm around your shoulder, "You mean 'where are we going later, right?" he emphasized the word 'we' for you to get the idea that he'll bring you with him no matter what.

You gave him this displeased look before crossing your arm, "Why bother asking if you already made your decision for me?"

He glanced at you with a smirk before shrugging his shoulders once.

"To piss you off."

You showed a blank face before hitting him by your elbow. He lets out a grunt but didn't let go from you, instead he leaned closer and even gave you his weight. Now, Ni-ki is very tall and so it wasn't a surprise that it gave you a hard time.

"Yah! You're heavy!" you scold him and even swat his chest. He grunted once again and even before you can say something, he leaned to your arm then slightly bite it making you yelp in surprise.

"Nishimura Riki!" you shouted his name while staring at his tall figure running away from you. He was giggling and even showing you these mischievous facial expressions to piss you even more.

He always resort to biting you whenever you two get into your playful fights.

As you arrived inside your building, you saw a familiar built and quickly approached it with a big wide smile. You held them in a headlock position that made him surprised.

"Good morning, Sunoo!" you greeted happily.

You felt him grab your arm and using his other free hand, he gently held your waist for support.

"Yah, let go of me." he said with a threatening voice. You laughed at it, not taking it seriously.

You've known him ever since first grade because he's good friends with Ni-ki. Even if he looks kind of intimidating when he's serious, that didn't stop you from teasing him. Out of all their group of friends, Sunoo is the one closest to you after Ni-ki.

You obliged after he started tickling you. While laughing and avoiding him, you accidentally bumped towards someone. When you checked who it was, a smirk made its way on your lips and got him on headlock instead.

"Who said you can leave me back there after biting me, huh?" you asked right away.

You felt Ni-ki's hand holding your waist and unlike when Sunoo did it, you felt something inside your stomach went crazy after his affection. You gulped and tried your best not to look obvious.

Ni-ki on the other hand wasn't as playful as before you guys arrived at the school. His eyes were looking at his Sunoo hyung like as if he did something terrible. You didn't make a big deal out of it.

"Are you even a girl?" Sunoo teased you that made you glare at him. He smirked and your hold over Ni-ki loosen because you started approaching Sunoo to attack him.

Sunoo laughed and was so ready to shield himself from your wrath when you're held back by an arm around your shoulder. It was Ni-ki's.

"Let's go before the bell ring at us." he said and started pulling you in the direction of your classroom. Sunoo followed behind because he's in the same class. You two continued arguing and Ni-ki was just there trying to stood between you two. He sometimes covers your mouth using his big hands that annoy you at some point.

You greeted your classmates inside like as if you didn't just argued with Sunoo and Ni-ki along the way. Some of them smiled. You walked towards your seat which is beside Ni-ki's. He put your things at the top of your table and sat down at his place.

You pouted when you saw him leaning over his table, in a sleeping position. You dragged your chair closer to him, "Hey." you poked him lightly and you pursed your lips even more when you didn't get any response from him.

"Are you sleepy?"

"No."

"Then why are you like that?" you asked and leaned closer to him so you can hear if ever he says something.

He didn't respond right away. Thinking that maybe he's slowly drifting to dreamland, you leaned your face closer.

"Riki?" you called him gently just in case he already fell asleep.

You raised your hand and pushed it near his head, but then the young boy suddenly turned and faced you. He caught you off-guard as you just suddenly found yourself face to face with him. Very close, like your nose touching his nose kind of close.

Unlike you, he doesn't seem fazed about your closure. With enlarged eyes, you were about to move your face away when he reached over your nape and stopped you. He gently pulled you, making your foreheads touch.

"You're so loud." he said using his low voice.

Your mouth gapped and unable to find words to say. You can feel your heart beating so fast and your cheeks blushing so hard. The thing inside your stomach were going mad crazy, like something wants to come out from it.

His eyes were staring at yours deeply and for some reasons, you do it as well. You've always admired Ni-ki's eyes. How they became a thin line whenever he's laughing genuinely or even when they're cold and blank while he's bored or sleepy. Regardless of his emotions, they seem to be very attractive for you.

Finally snapping back to your senses, you used your hand to cover his face and slowly release yourself from his hold. Like a speed of lightning, you quickly moved your chair away from him. Once you let go of his face, his eyes never left you. A smirk plays through his thick lips while still keeping his position. He stared and watch how you looked so flustered because of his actions. He enjoyed it.

He enjoyed it so much and the fact that only him can make you like that makes it even more amazing.

The day went on like normal day. Teachers discussing their lessons, your small petty arguments with Ni-ki althrough out of it and some bonding with your classmates and friends. It was pretty much how you spent your school days.

When lunch came, you, together with some of Ni-ki's friends went to the cafeteria. Eyes follows your group as you made your way over to an empty table. You ignored them and tried to convince yourself that its just normal for them to stare, specially if this group is composed with almost the school's/campus' crush/es.

Yes, your best friend is one of them. You always playfully gags whenever he's being smug about it, but at the back of your mind, you couldn't actually blame them for liking him.

He's very attractive. He have good body proportions, good-looking, from a wealthy family, tall and sporty. He just lacks a bit more from academics side since he's very lazy, but he makes up for it. The girls in your school clearly digs his bad boy and misterious aura.

You pulled a chair and was about to sit on it when Ni-ki beats you into it. You glared at him that he only returned with a sly smile and followed it with a, "Oh how thoughtful of you, y/n. You're really the bestest friend in the world."

You didn't waste any time and hit him at the back of his head then cursed at him. He was just laughing with it, enjoying that he once again accomplished his mission and that is to piss you off.

Sunoo arrived next to you and pulled a chair for you, "Here, sit down." he said with a smile before settling down at the next chair.

You pouted at his kind gesture and was about to oblig when Ni-ki suddenly pulled you away from it. With a confused and still annoyed face, you glared at him. He sat down at the chair Sunoo pulled for you then made you sit down at the chair next to it. (which is the one you pulled a while ago)

You had no choice but to sat down at that chair. Ni-ki have this victory smirk while you look sulky because of him. Now he's sitting between you and Sunoo.

"You two are so childish." you even heard Sunoo commented.

"Shut up hyung." Ni-ki replied before asking you what you want for lunch and volunteered to buy food for the two of you.

The next day, you surprisingly prepared ahead and managed to wait for him right outside your apartment door. To say that he looked amused for you being early was an understatement. He put his hand over his lips and slowly walked closer to you.

You smiled proudly at him and even jokingly looked at your watch, "Tsk. Hurry up slow poke."

Ni-ki laughed at your remark and was quick to put you in a headlock.

"Did you even sleep? You are too early, y/n. I almost thought you aren't my best friend."

You glared at him and elbowed him. He grunted jokingly. When you arrived outside the apartment building, Ni-ki pushed his fist out indicating another war to start between the two of you. With a smirk, you prepared yourself for the battle.

"Rock, paper, scissors!" you both yelled. It was a tradition between you to do this and the loser will be the one to carry your bags up until the school.

Your smiling lips slowly grew into a pout when you saw Ni-ki showing his fist at you meaning you once again lost to him. He gave you his bag as he smirked annoyingly at you. While gritting your teeth, you kicked him causing for him to let out a groan. You ignored it and walked pass at him.

When you arrived inside the school, Ni-ki run away from you when he saw some friends that greeted him from afar. You think they're the ones who plays videogames with him.

Since you aren't pretty familiar to them, you decided you'll walk ahead and won't wait for Ni-ki anymore.

Even before you can start to walk the stairs to the second floor, someone stood in front of you.

"Hi," the guy greeted.

You looked at him with a furrowed brows. He's the guy from yesterday. The one in Nicholas' team. He kept his smile despite of your unfriendly expression.

"Sorry if I made you uncomfy yesterday." he started again.

The crease over your forehead slowly disappeared when you slowly felt like he meant no harm.

"It's okay." you answered back.

He looked excited after getting a response from you. He kept his smile and extended his hand towards you.

"I'm (random name) btw." he introduced.

You looked at his hand first before you gazing back at him. After letting out a sigh, you were about to accept it when a hand swat it away from you. Even before you knew it, Ni-ki's familiar wide back was now your view.

"Didn't I told you to fuck off yesterday?" he seriously said.

The guy didn't seem to be fazed about him and retrieved his hand to put it inside his pocket. He smirked at Ni-ki.

"I was just introducing myself to y/n." there's a hint of teasing on his tone. Ni-ki advances and was about to talk again but you beat him to it.

You held over his arm, "Ni-ki." you called him using your warning tone.

It isn't really good to let him be since obviously, he's pissed and he won't hesitate to throw punch anytime now. That would be a big mess and he will be in great trouble so as his bestfriend, you are keeping him from getting involve.

They both looked at your direction. You stared at Ni-ki for a while before you darted your piercing gaze at the guy in front. He looked curious as he smiled at you.

You stepped forward and sighed, "Stop pissing him off. It would be better for you to avoid me. It would spare you two from getting in trouble."

You didn't wait for him to talk anymore and just pulled Ni-ki towards your classroom. It was his turn to smirk at the guy that clearly pissed him off.

After walking away, he gently pulled away from hold then get both of your things from you so he can carry it himself. When you looked over your shoulder, you saw this smile at his face.

"Why are you smiling?" you asked, curious.

He shrugged his shoulders, "Do you want some banana milk? I'll treat you." he suddenly offered that quickly brighten your mood.

"Sure!" he chuckled and pinched your nose before you two head over your room to put your bag down first.

You two were teasing each other after he treats you and now on your way back to the class. He hissed after you hit his back because he just messed your hair. It was a normal scene between the two of you.

When you arrived the room, your homeroom teacher appeared and entered the class. She asked everyone to take their sit to their respective places. Ni-ki was still teasing you that you only returned with a scoff.

She called everyone one by one to check the attendance and announced that one of your classmates didn't go home yesterday. You pouted and looked at Ni-ki. He was drinking his banana milk while listening to the teacher.

"Ni-ki." you tried calling him.

When he didn't look at you, you kicked his table causing him to finally spare you a glance.

"Didn't we saw Hana yesterday at the science lab?" you whispered at him.

He pursed his lips and furrowed his brows, like as if trying to recall his memories. He nodded his head after remembering that you guys saw her coming back to the science lab to take a nap. It was after you checked the lab to help Heeseung.

You all thought it was nothing. That Hana just went somewhere without telling her parents or maybe she's probably on her way home now. But all that changed when you saw how she slowly walked inside the room, covered in her own blood. Bruises all over her body.

You blinked continuously, couldn't really believe what you're seeing at the moment. You can see most of your classmates standing up to get a better view, some to avoid seeing it at a near position. Panic, worry and confusion filled the whole class. You saw how your homeroom teacher was completely caught off guard as well.

Ni-ki stood up and went closer to you. He held your arm and slightly blocked the view of Hana from you. You didn't even realized that you are standing as well. Hana collapsed after saying that the one responsible to what happened to her was your science teacher.

"Hey," Ni-ki turned and face you. He saw that you are still eyeing Hana's direction.

He cursed lightly and cupped your face to make you look at him in the eyes. Ni-ki doesn't know what exactly to feel after seeing how terrified you look. This was the first time he saw you like this.

"Don't look, okay?" he tried to divert your attention as everybody else panics because of what’s happening to Hana.

The boys quickly offered to help and take her to the clinic together with your teacher. She then left and asked everyone to calm down and to not say a word about it.

"Yah! Did you see her face?!" your eyes gazed at your classmates when she talked to her friend, a few tables away from where you are sitted.

"She said it was our science teacher!"

Your mind started to be occupied about the bothering things about your science teacher that your friends were talking about just last night.

"Y/n." Ni-ki lightly taps your face to catch your attention. He's starting to get really worried of you.

You glanced at him, still shock from what you just witnessed.

"Hana... she said it was the science t-teacher." you managed to say.

Ni-ki pursed his lips, starting to get frustrated how these things are affecting you. He glanced at his side when his Sunoo hyung handed him a bottled water.

"Make her drink some and calm her down. I will go and check what's going on through Jungwon." he said and Ni-ki nodded his head.

"Here," Ni-ki made you sit down to his chair before opening the water for you.

He grabbed your chair and dragged it closer to you. He made you take a sip and you are too occupied to even say no. After taking a sip and finally calming down a bit, Ni-ki assured you that it must have been just a misunderstanding so you don't have to be really worried.

Soon after, your advicer, Jungwon and Sunghoon returned. They said that Hana was taken to the hospital to get treated. Somehow, it made you felt relief. But the unsettled thing about your science teacher still lingers at the back of your mind. Is he really the one behind what happened to Hana?

“Just try and confess to him, y/n.” your eyes darted over to Kim Sunoo as you stood in front of him.

If there's somebody else who knows about your feelings for your best friend, its him.

"And then what? Lose my friendship with him? No thanks!" you said.

He chuckled, "Or he can return your feelings." he said that made you pout even more.

"Yah Kim Sunoo don't raise my hopes up." you said that made him chuckle and mess your hair up.

"You look cute when you're pissed like that." he said and you were about to swat his hand away but someone did it for you. Ni-ki have this serious face as he wrap his arm around your shoulder while eyeing his friend.

Sunoo can't help but to smirk at the reaction of his friend. How come you never notice this possessive actions of him whenever another guy lurks around you. He then flashed Ni-ki his sweet innocent smile that the younger one ignored.

"Uhh, do you guys want ice cream?" you interrupted when you felt this sudden awkward atmosphere surrounding the three of you.

Sunoo was the first one to respond to you, he flashed this sweet smile and was about to throw his arm over your shoulder but Ni-ki beats him to it.

"Let's go. Your treat." he said that made you frown and complain.

Sunoo's arm was still hanging at thin air, but he lets out a chuckle before following the two of you. Eventually, it went back to normal and you two were back to bickering nonstop. The three of you decided that it would be best to enjoy your ice cream by the benches beside the school field.

You were busy bickering with Ni-ki when you noticed one student running like a wild animal. It's not just that, he have these weird red stains all over his white uniform. Another one suddenly jumped over him and soon a lot more followed behind. All of them were acting strange.

"What are they doing?" you suddenly asked.

Ni-ki's smirk fell and followed where you're looking at. His brows slowly furrowed at the sight of students running around, attacking someone. His moved even before his brain can command it. He took a step closer to you as he hold your arm, pulling them to gently place you behind him.

"What the.." Ni-ki uttered under his breath as he watch how one student hovered another and attacked them.

Confusion and fear can be seen through his face. He can't understand what he's seeing right now. All he knows is that its dangerous and that he needs to protect you. You look beyond terrified at the scene in front of you. Its like from a popular movie.

Ni-ki's eyes diverted to a flock of students running towards the field. He gulped and nervously stared at them.

"Hyung..." he called the attention of the older one who seemed to be as confused and as scared at him.

"We need to go." he stated and just in time, they saw one running towards them.

Ni-ki cursed as you scream in fear. The student no longer look like one. Its eyes were all white, the black part almost nowhere to be seen. He have this bite marks all over his body and his uniform covered in fresh blood.

"Stay close to me." Ni-ki whispered and the three of you started running off towards your building.

Along the way, you saw a lot of other students running around and attacking each other. It was chaotic and you don't know what's happening anymore. You're a mess too.

The entrance to your building was a bit packed with students as well. Just by the looks of it, it was obvious that you will have a hard time getting inside and going to your classroom. You got more teary as you watch students falling out from the windows of your building. Ni-ki tried to ask you not to look at them.

You then let out a scream when one tried to attack you. Ni-ki held your waist and pulled you beside him then kicked that student off. He cupped your face, catching your gaze.

"You all right?" he asked that you answered with a quick nod of your head.

The three of you headed towards the stairs and Sunoo was behind making sure none of them follows behind to sneak up on you. Before you can arrive at the next floor, a couple of infected students run down to meet you. They were pretty aggressive so they're hard to hold off.

Sunoo was down over the stairs but Ni-ki was quick to help him. He pulled that infected away from his hyung and pushed him off the stairs. After he helped his hyung to get up, another set of students arrived causing for you two to be left with no choice but to go downstairs and run back outside the building.

Ni-ki was holding your hand tightly, continuously muttered comforting words, assuring you that he's right there and that he won't leave you alone. You're mind is slowly going blank out of fear, but you do trust him with all your life.

As you arrived outside, it was very chaotic. Students, teachers and even workers of the school scattered around chasing each other. Ni-ki and you walked around the building trying to find a way through.

"Watch out!" you screamed when you suddenly saw a truck going your way.

Ni-ki moved back to ditch it and you saw how it suddenly hit the side wall of the building. He glanced at you and asked if you were okay and you nodded again. You scanned him, trying to make sure he's okay as well.

He glanced back at the truck and his eyes then saw that there's a way you can go if you climb over it. He quickly pulled you towards it, avoiding some of the infected trying to go after you two.

You have no clue what his plan is, all you know is that you trust Ni-ki. You know he will protect you no matter what.

He helped you climb up to the back of the truck and you two head towards the front to use it as your step to climb at the small terrace of the second floor.

"Slowly." he whispered as he leaned over the wall and gave you his knee to step on.

He lets go of your hand and held your waist as support. After you make it, you quickly glanced at Ni-ki to check if he's coming. You panicked a bit seeing some of the infected students running his way.

Smoothly, he climbed up and you hugged him tightly. He taps your head gently trying to catch his breath after the stunt he just pulled. Both of you head inside and made sure to lock the door.

"Hyung!" your head turned after Ni-ki said that and you can't explain how happy you felt seeing Sunoo again.

You hugged him and he smiled a little.

"Let's head to our classroom. I'm sure they're inside." and the three of you hurry.

Just like how Sunoo said it, your classmates were inside. They're as terrified as you.

"Its one of those..." Ni-ki said that caught everyone's attention. "...zombies." your eyes remained at him. You heard one of your classmates lets out a scoff like what he just said is the most funny thing he heard today.

"You watched too many movies, Nishimura."

Ni-ki's jaw clenches and you know he's pissed off. He was about to say something but you held his arm to catch his attention. You shook your head side to side, telling him to just let it slide.

Even before he can speak, one of your classmates talked.

"Ni-ki's right. Come to think of it! They bite other people and then they become aggressive as well." the whole class fell silent after the smartest guy in the room said that.

Mixed of reactions can be heard. Some still don't believe it and some were starting to be even more scared. Who won't be? These things are only seen in the movies. They're not beaten and mostly ended with no definite solution. The things and actions you've seen in movies may be only possible in front of a camera and in films.

Nobody knows what will happen next.

Ni-ki moved closer to you and held both of your arm, catching your attention. His eyes were scanning you before they looked at yours.

"Are you okay?" his eyes looked so worried.

You nodded and brushed his hair, fixing it a bit. "Yeah. You?" you asked gently.

He nodded his head.

"Thank you for looking out on me."

He smiled a little, "Of course. I will always protect you.” he said and caressed your hair softly.

The whole class was as confused as you. Despite the theory the smartest guy said a while ago, some refused to believe it. You couldn’t really blame them as those scenes only happens in movie. For all of you, that is very impossible to happen.

“Everyone,” your head snaps at Jungwon, the class president, when he raised his hand as he catch the attention of your classmates. “we need to search every bag to find a phone.” he added.

You were ready to do as he say, but you heard (sh’s y/n) going against him that caused yet another argument. It was nothing new to you. She’s always been like that. Maybe because she’s wealthy and she gets everything she wants made her like this. You rolled your eyes and grabbed the bag near you to start searching.

Ni-ki followed after you, watching you from time to time. Some of your classmates are still arguing, but joined the search later on. After searching carefully, your heads snapped at the side when one announced that they found one.

A small hope errupts from your chest as relief slowly crept over your system. Just by knowing you succeeded on finding one to contact help from outside already gave you hope.

Now they all panics on how to open it. Stress were slowly emerging at the thought that you won’t be able to open it because it needs a password. And to your bad luck, the owner of the phone is not with you guys.

“There she is. Give me the phone.” Ni-ki said and grabbed the phone to give it a try.

He approached closer the door and placed it in front to access the face i.d lock. He is struggling so much.

“You need to move closer.” Sunghoon told Ni-ki that be quickly obliged. He tried moving closer but it’s still not working.

You sighed and slowly approached him. “You don’t need to unlock when calling an emergency number.” you informed him that made him pull away from where he is then started dialling number.

You watch him while he talked and informed the authorities about the situation. Not long after, you got surprised when you heard him cursing beside you.

“What did they said?” Jungwon asked.

You held over his arm and looked at him worried. He seemed so pissed about what’s happening.

“They didn’t believe me. They said if I’m pulling a prank on them, they’ll know who am I and I’ll get to serious trouble.” he said.

He clenched his jaw as he puts his hand down, the one holding the phone. You sighed and gently grabbed it from him.

“Let me try and call Dad.” you said and he nodded before standing behind you while he watch silently.

“The number you have dialed...” you bit your lower lip before cursing lightly at what you heard.

You tried dialling again and Ni-ki left because Jungwon calls for him to talk about something. You tried again and again, but its still the same. You cannot contact your father. Your heart sank as your mind slowly went blank. Fear is slowly consuming you, the fact that your father is not answering his phone which is rarely happens while all of this is happening is bothering.

“Hey,” your head snapped at your side when you felt his hand gently held your elbow to make you face him.

“You all right?” his brows twisted in a worried expression as he slowly roam his eyes over your face.

“I c-can’t contact my Dad.” you sound so worried.

Ni-ki pursed his lips before gently placing what he was holding over the table beside him. He sighed and gently cupped your face then stared you straight at your eyes.

“I’m sure he’s fine. Don’t worry too much, okay?” he tried comforting you.

Slowly you started to calm down then he asked you to keep the phone so you put it inside one of the pockets of your jacket. Ni-ki really know how to take care of you and how to calm you down at these type of situation.

You nodded. He gave you a small smile before caressing your cheeks using his thumb, then lets go to go get the one he put the table beside you.

“Here, wear this.” your eyes dropped at the p.e pants that he was handing you.

“Is this yours?” you asked him.

“Yeah. It’s clean so don’t worry.” he said with a smirk.

You furrowed your brows, “I d-didn’t said anything!” you defended and he just chuckled before trying to put it on.

“Wear it so it won’t be hard to move around.” he explains and you can’t help but to feel more worried.

You lift your gaze from the pants to his eyes that were already darted at you. “You think help won’t come soon?” your tone sounded hopeless, like you’ve already read what’s inside Ni-ki's mind.

He pursed his lips and tried to smile, “I’m sure help will come. Just wear that so you won’t be uncomfy.” he said and you’re left with no choice but to do as he say.

Your attention then darted over to the infected students outside the room when they started running towards somewhere. Some of your curious boy classmates walked towards the door and windows to get a clearer view.

“Where are they going?” you muttered curiously as your feet moved before your brain could even process it. After three steps, you were stopped by a hand holding your arm.

It was Ni-ki. “Don’t go near the door and windows.” he said with a creased forehead.

You pouted then nodded. He asked you to sit down and he went towards the door where some of his friends are. It seems like they’re checking what’s going on as well.

“They’re running off the hallway!” one announced.

It made you stand up having a little hope that you’ll be safer without any of them near your classroom. But then some of your classmates started to argue once again due to disagreement. One was asking Jungwon to take action while one defended him that its too dangerous and him being the president is not an enough reason for him to risk his life.

You silently agreed with (jw’s y/n). Ni-ki sighed and clicked his tongue at the side of his cheeks while watching the scene from beside you.

“Look at her running her mouth once again.” he commented before putting his hand inside his pocket.

You looked at him and swat him over his chest. “She's just scared.”

Yes, you don’t agree at what she’s saying and how she’s acting right now, but you also understand that she’s just scared. You can see how anxious, worried and scared she is. She’s covering all that up by this brat girl facade of her.

“Aren’t we all?” he fired back at you and then he lets out another sigh before glancing back at the commotion. “Just admit it. She’s just spoiled rotten.” he added.

You stood closer to him and even covered his sight from the scene. Now his bored looking eyes darted at you and suddenly they seemed more attentive.

“Stop it. She’s just scared, Ni-ki.”

It seemed like you’ve almost convinced him that you were right until he blinked and glanced away. He scoffed, “I-I’m just being honest. I don’t even know why hyung liked her.” he mumbled, now a little lower to avoid being scolded by you.

You rolled your eyes at him and looked back at them. Now, Sunghoon’s holding off one of your classmate from advancing towards (sh’s y/n). She said something offensive towards him that quickly pissed him off. Everyone’s a mess right now. A lot is going on and that’s why probably most of you are sensitive at the moments. Arguing should be the least you guys should be doing.

While they’re busy arguing, the door was left unattended that result from someone freely entering your classroom. It was your p.e teacher. At first, the sight of him gave you relief that finally there’s an adult that can help and supervise, but you started getting this uneasy feeling about him.

He broke the silence and avoided the questions of your classmates by telling everyone to help him make barricades over the doors of the room. Most of them followed him right away while you stood there, staring at him with suspicious eyes.

You tried to shrug it off and convince yourself that you’re probably just overthinking things due to all these chaos around you. So you forced yourself to move and help. Before you can even lift one of the chairs, a hand stopped you from doing so.

“Why?” you asked Ni-ki whose busy looking at the teacher.

He glanced at you then smiled a little, tho you noticed how he’s hiding something. ‘Does he find the teacher suspicious too?’

He grabbed the chair, “Go stand beside (sn's y/n). We’ll take care of this.” he said and didn’t even wait for what you’re going to say.

You were left with no choice but to stand close to (sn's y/n) while watching your p.e teacher.

“H-Hey.” she called you softly. You turned your head even tho you’re still bothered and gave her your attention. Its not always she makes a first move to interact with someone, you have to assure her that she’s doing well.

“Are you okay?” she asked. She maybe noticed how you seemed so bothered over your teacher.

You answered a short ‘Yeah.’ because you’re contemplating whether to tell her about your thoughts or nah. You don’t want her to panic or to be scared, but at the end you wanted her to know. After-all, you have a feeling that she will be close to you from now on.

“Don’t you think he’s a little suspicious?” and even glanced back at your teacher.

“I d-don’t know. Aren't you happy that we finally have an adult with us?” seh continuously stated.

You pursed your lips and realized she’s right. Maybe you’re really just overthinking or maybe she’s just too naive and nice to notice? You sighed and tried to smile a little just for her to feel better.

“You’re right.”

But right after those words left your lips, you heard one of your classmates screamed.

“Sir, your arm!” she shouted that made you snap your head to the direction of your teacher, your eyes quickly scanned his arms.

Your heart fell at the sight of a fresh wound. It was obvious that it came from a bite. Everyone panicked as they all started screaming towards your teacher. They all pressured him to leave the room. He’s obviously still at the right state of his mind unlike the other bitten people around you, but you know its just a matter of time before he turned like them.

You stepped closer towards (sn’s y/n) holding her by her arm while still watching your teacher. Ni-ki slowly walks his way closer to where you are. He cursed while staring at your p.e teacher. He knew something was off with him the moment he set foot here in the classroom.

His eyes quickly looked at the two doors that will serve your only escape the moment he went crazy. The door to the left was completely blocked by chairs already. Thankfully, the other one have only a few stacks of chairs over it. He’s sure the boys can easily knock over it in case you guys need to leave this place.

His eyes looked at you, making sure you’re beyond his reach if ever it started to become chaotic. His heart was racing crazy because of fear and worry.

“You should leave, sir.” (jw's y/n) insisted and you can’t help but to admire her bravery. Jungwon was quick to stand beside her, making sure she’s near him.

“What did you say?” he looked offended at what she just said. That didn’t stopped her from backing down, instead she took a nother step towards him.

“I said you should leave this room, Sir!” she shouted. Jungwon grabbed her and placed her behind him right away as the teacher started to shout curses towards her in anger.

“How dare you talk to your teacher like that?!” he asked aggressively as he approached closer, but stopped when his nose started bleed.

Your mouth gapped at the sight of it. He blinked, completely flushed at what's currently happening to him. You can feel your heart beating so fast in fear. It was too late before you can process what you’re about to do.

You let go from holding (sn’s y/n)’s arms and stepped closer to your teacher hitting him at the back of his head. Ni-ki was still surprised at the terrifying scene of your teacher’s nose bleeding out that he failed to stop you from doing that.

Once he saw you hitting him, he quickly grabbed and put you behind him not minding that he will put himself in danger in exchange of you.

“You bitch!” your teacher screamed in anger but even before he can step closer he collapsed over the floor.

Everybody fell silent. None of your were able to say anything. Moments later, he started moving in a very odd way. It was the same movements those students make whenever they’re bitten by the infected ones.

“Quick, open the door!” Jungwon shouted and the boys took action right away while the girls screamed and cries.

One even pushed you out of fear causing you to fall over the floor. Even before you knew it, a pair of strong arms helped you to get back on your feet, cupping your face to look at him instead of the chaotic scene.

“Hey, snap out of it. I need you to be aware of your surroundings.” he said calmly despite the worry and fear over his eyes.

You blinked, tears starting to form at the corner of your eyes. “I m-made him like that...”

He pursed his lips and quickly shakes his head side to side, “No, baby. You didn’t.” he said using his softest tone. He sighed and leaned closer, making sure you two are eye to eye.

“Please stay alert for me, okay? I’ll be just here to protect you.” he mumbled that slowly calmed you down.

“Ni-ki!” both of your heads snapped over to the side when you heard his friend calls for him to help.

You grabbed over (sn’s y/n) and run outside the room while the boys tries to hold your teacher back. (jw's y/n), her friend and (sh’s y/n) were the one in front together with Heeseung and Jay.

A group of biters suddenly appeared in front and the girls ahead of you fell out of surprise causing a domino effect together with you. You grunted in pain.

Ni-ki looked over his shoulder when he heard the screams and cursed when he saw you down on the floor. He kicked your teacher hard back inside the room and closed it before jogging his way at your direction.

“You good?” he asked worried. You nodded and silently scanned him as well.

“Yes, you?”

He licked his lower lip, “I'm good. Don’t worry about me.”

You didn’t answer that because you know you’ll always worry for him. Your head snapped over to the side when you heard Sunoo calling your name.

“Y/n, please stick with (sn’s y/n).” he asked and you nodded your head holding her arm.

You were asked to go at the next floor towards the science lab. It was a total chaos on the way since you were surrounded by infected students. The boys even split up having some up front while some stayed behind, making sure none will attack from behind. Ni-ki’s one of them.

You’ll be honest, you wanted to ask him to just stay behind you but you know he’ll refuse to do that. And besides, he will surely be a big help since he’s very athletic and strong. Him and Jungwon were the ones at the end.

The only help you can do is to not be weakling and do things as told as possible. So when the boys asked the girls to stay between them and help push the biters off, you focused and tried so hard to help. You’re too confident that Ni-ki were there in your circle since you saw Jungwon joining a while ago. The two of them were together by the stairs.

The science lab was locked and you almost lose hope, but thankfully one of you find a solution and cracked it open just in time before those infected happen to attack you.

Once inside, all of you checked and made sure you can be safe in that place in the mean time. While everyone were busy catching their breaths and calming themselves down, your mind were slowly going blank of thoughts. You can feel your body aching due to countless bumping and falling down everywhere. Your knees were even shaking.

“Give me the phone, I’ll call someone.” your head snaps over to (sh’s y/n) when she approached and laid her hands in front of you.

You stood straightly and started going through your pockets searching for the phone Ni-ki handed you a while ago. Your heart fell and your brows hardly furrowed when you couldn’t find it anywhere.

Suddenly, a faint memory of something hitting your feet a while ago while you fight with the infected flashes back to your mind. You’re not that sure, but you think it was the phone that hit your feet. You were just too busy that time to even care.

Your eyes lift towards (sh’s y/n) whose now looking at you dangerously. It seems like she already have a clue of what happened, but still waits for you to tell her yourself.

“I l-lost it. I must have dropped it—” she didn’t even let you finish your sentence as she quickly attacked you with her wrath.

“You lost it?! How could you!” she shouted right at you and you couldn’t do anything, but to lower your head feeling really sorry.

You felt someone stood in front of you and you are sure it was Sunoo. Sunghoon went close to (sh’s y/n) as well to try and hold her back from coming at you.

You stayed silent despite of her talking bad about you. She has the right to. You are stupid and careless for losing the only thing you can use to get some help. Ni-ki entrusted that phone to you— Ni-ki...

Your head quickly scanned the whole room and your heart fell when you couldn’t see any sign of him.

“W-Wait, where is Ni-ki?!” you shouted, the question directed to no one. You didn’t care if your voice sounded too loud or if it startled anyone, you are starting to lose your sane.

Your heart ached and tears started to form your eyes at the thought of losing him. With heavy steps you approached Jungwon, Sunoo following you behind holding you by your arm to support you.

“Where is he, Jungwon? You two were together, right? He was with you.” your eyes looked at him with hopes of hearing something good from him.

You saw something flashes through his eyes that you quickly dismissed as you watch him approach closer.

“He asked me to go first and promised that he will follow.” he answered that made your shoulder fell.

Tears streamed down your eyes as you felt your knees losing its strength. Sunoo and Jungwon attended to you right away, holding you. Sunoo asked Jungwon to rest and he assured that he will take care of you. He hesitated to leave you, but obliged as he realized you need space and time to process everything.

Everyone fell silent and you continued crying. You couldn’t think of anything else but Ni-ki. You tried hard to convince yourself that he is alright, that he’s somewhere safe, but you couldn’t help but worry for him. You don’t know what to feel at the moment. You knew you couldn’t lose him. Not him, you love him so much.

Okay so I’m getting invested in Disneys Zombies series again and checked out the re-animated shorts, and I lowkey hope they end up doing a full animated zombies show, mostly because it’d be fun to see the episodes of the different seasons kind of be follow ups to the movies.

There’s this one fanfic called Zombies: the series by callmeLy/ @unusual-ly and I imagine it following a similar structure.

I have some ideas, so comment if you want to hear them or comment your own episode ideas

#one I had was Bucky getting injured during one of their practices and having to sit out for a while and just seeing how mopey he is #also maybe some of the other cheer members trying to take over his position and letting the power get to them #disney zombies

1- Primos

Mira mijo para mí toda la polémica estuvo bien pendeja, ya que todo el crew del show fue puesto en el mismo saco de boxeo por las declaraciones de Myrna Velasco, como persona que conoce a Natasha Kline desde su trabajo en Big City Greens te puedo asegurar por Dieguito Maradona que no es un demonio como otras personas en el internet la están poniendo.

El show NO es sobre la cultura mexicana es sobre la cultura chicana en Los Angeles y como persona que se vio el piloto filtrado antes de que un chistosito lo subiera para crear bardo te digo que es lo mas harmless y inocentón del mundo, los que se están quejando son gente que solo lo hace para crear ragebait y farmear vistas.

2- Zombies The Re-Animated Series

Not really my thing since the movies where "eh" for me but those days i was sick, so i recall the songs, happy for Aliki and the team tho, probably will watch it when i rewatch the films.

3- StuGo

Really interested for this one specially since this one is slated to be Disney TVA's 100th Series, so im curious if Disney will have some kind of event planned besides that, the synopsis is interesting also this show had multiple people of Jellystone! and the crew from the axed CN movie Driftwood on board, so i think it will be interesting as the show saved this people from being jobless.

Just realized that is called "STUGO" beacuse they are STUdents stuck three months on a wild tropical island, so they need to "GO".

Heh. It's like a pun or something. Heheh.

4 - Cookies & Milk

Apparently this is the second project from the Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur EPs, i wonder how will they handle a down to earth slice of life series, imagine if they hire Flying Bark again becoming their first slice of life project with the Rise/LEGO/MGADD animation lol

5- Rhona Who Lives By The River

I like how the concept art has a Cartoon Saloon vibe and wondering how will translate to stop-motion which is interesting, i like Karen Gillian for her role as Nebula on GOTG trilogy, what i wonder is how Disney will handle the show with the Elfman scandal, will they quietly drop it without any mention of Elfman like MAX did with Fired on Mars EP or finding a new composer for Season 2.

6- The Witchverse

I played the VR short recently and OMG is so cute and adorable, the world they created has a big potential for multiple storylines, hoping S1 is more focused on Magda, Sasha (Yeah they have to change her name) and her mother, their relationship was so adorable, hope Daisy Ridley returns for the full series.

7- InterCats

Apparently this will be Disney's first workplace comedy series for YA audiences and it sounds cute, apparently is co-created by one of the Nimona screenwritters Pamela Ribon, so that's a plus.

8- Fantasy Sports

Super looking forward to this one, i loved the original novels and hoping Disney makes justice to Sam Bosma's world and characters, i can see Wiz and Mug becoming perfect additions to crosspromotion events at ESPN.

9- SuperStar

BTW just like to mention that i named it SuperStar as a placeholder title, the show dosn't have a name as of yet, based on the cast call we can see that Alejandra is latina so maybe it's a mixture between MGADD and Hannah Montana, wonder which person created the show.

10.- Journey

Since we don't know it's creator is very hard to tell what to expect BUT the synopsis is interesting kinda a awnser to LEGEND OF VOX MACHIMA but more family friendly, im wonder if this is the project created by Amy Hudkins, Ian Mutchler and Jonathon Wallach since they like Dungeons and Dragons, Legend Of Zelda and Magic The Gathering.

11- La Familia Avenúñez

It's a spin-off of The Proud Family Louder And Prouder with a latino cast pues suena chido la vdd, esperemos que cuando se anuncie no ocurra lo mismo que Primos.

12 - Dog And Frog, Neon Galaxy, Sam Witch

They don't have creator or synopsis as of yet besides a title revealed via a trademark, so it's hard to give overall thoughts

13- Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin Reboots

After TMNT Mutant Mayhem, The Boys, The Boys Diabolical and Invincible im confident that Rogen's team will do Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin justice and wishing good luck to the crew behind them.

GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI - Review

SYNOPSIS: GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI is set in 1920s Shanghai where the Wing family first meets the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Guided by his grandfather’s journal, 10-year-old Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 “Gremlins” film) accepts the dangerous task to take Gizmo home and embarks on a journey through the Chinese countryside. Sam and Gizmo are joined by a teenage street thief named Elle, and together, they encounter—and sometimes battle—colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. Along their quest, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist named Riley Greene, who has gathered a growing army of evil Gremlins.

REVIEW: As fans remain hopeful for a third film in the cult classic film franchise birth by filmmakers Joe Dante and Chris Columbus, the animated series GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI comes to MAX, offering fans an epic origin story for Gizmo and the Mogwais, immersed in Chinese folklore. Having taken in all ten episodes, the series is a blend of family themes, an epic quest of personal growth and a nice collection of bits and gags that offer something for adults and diehard fans.

I enjoyed the plot and the character arcs. The majority of the episodes ended on classic cliffhangers, engaging the viewer’s interest for the next episode. Sam, Elle, and even Gizmo, learn much about themselves and grow as they encounter obstacles in route to the Jade Valley, the home of the Mogwais. The evil gremlins are as scary as Gizmo and his fellow Mogwais are adorable. The colorful monsters and spirits incorporated into the tale from Chinese folklore add a nice touch. Fans of Chinese genre films are sure to be delighted by their presence, my personal favorite the hopping zombies, which works so much better in animation than in live action. The series captures the spirit of the original live action films as it moves into a fantasy realm. Ultimately, the evil gremlins get to unleash their brand of chaos on Shanghai, aided by the power-hungry industrialist Riley Greene. Greene’s addition adds an additional level to the peril and plays off a new aspect to the gremlin mythology. The series comes to a satisfying conclusion as the ten episodes also expand the Gremlin folklore. There is the potential for another season, after all Sam is a young lad and he and Gizmo need to make the journey to America. However, this first installment is so well written I’m a bit nervous where it could go from here.

I enjoyed the animation style. The human, evil gremlins, good gremlins, monsters and spirits each have a specific design. The evil gremlins have a sharp geometric design, as compared to the good gremlins which have a soft, puppy-eyed, furry design. The humans have some hard lines in their rendering, especially in terms of the adults vs. the children. The folklore characters are a nice blend of styles that give them each a unique feel. I loved the rendering and they would easily make great toys/action-figures. There is an aspect to the animation that was reminiscent of Rankin/Bass stop motion animation process, known as "Animagic.” Numerous times while viewing I was lulled into thinking I was watching stop motion and not flat animation. Scenes vary, but many are filled in with detail and a rich color palette that creates a lavish universe.

I adored Sherri Chung’s compositions for the series. She does an excellent re-orchestration of Jerry Goldsmith’s “Gremlins” theme with some traditional Chinese instruments that maintains the spirit of the composition and adds a fresh take to it. It’s a short piece that plays over the opening credits and I would love to hear her take on the entire piece. She creates magical moments as she adds her music to scenes with the other mystical characters and the action sequences. Her work is a nice blend of a classic style and playful sound reminiscent of the blend of music in the classic “Looney Tunes” shorts.

The production has gathered a fabulous voice cast. Veteran actor James Hong's performance flows through his character adding so much charm and magic. Izaac Wang’s Sam imparts a sense of wonder and a child’s innocence to the character. Actress Gabrielle Nevaeh voices the street urchin Elle. She adds a lot of depth to her performance that creates an endearing character. Several other Asian-Pacific actors add their voices to the series, including the original Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek,” actor George Takei. I will not spoil the surprise, but it’s perfect voice casting.

GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI is a delight, and sure to be a guilty pleasure among the viewing adults who don’t have a younger viewer to blame their watching the series on. I am sure there are fans of the films who will have issues with the series. If they give it a chance it has so much going for it that it is sure to win them over. I’m cautiously optimistic to see what they might do for a second season, and wait with bated breath for the toys and action figures based on the show.

The first two episodes for GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI premiere Tuesday, May 23, 2023, on MAX, with two new episodes every Thursday. The pilot, “Never Get Them Wet,” is directed by Joe Dante, who serves as consulting producer on the series.

Top 10 Spinoffs that really need to happen

Hi, friends. I may not be a fan of cheap sequels or prequels we don't want, I do think spinoffs are underrated especially if they focus on characters that are beloved and have interesting stories to tell. I mean, look at the success of Star Wars' many series especially its two diamonds being Clone Wars and Andor. I was inspired to make this list after seeing the trailer of Daryl Dixon.

In this list, I will my top ten medias that could it even bigger if they make these specific spinoffs.

Marvel's War Machine (Film/TV Series) - Nevermind Riri. Let's focus on this guy who was not only around long before her, but since the beginning. In time where we want more black representation than ever, I think War Machine is should be the next big thing. War Machine aka James Ruper "Rhodey" Rhodes is a decorated soldier to begin and Iron Man's right hand man. Despite the similar gimmick, his personality is much more serious, professional and mannerly. He can hold out on his own and he is a hero anyone of any type can look up to.

2. Marvel's Mary Jane Watson (Mini Series) - While she started off as Gwen Stacey's replacement and would alter become Peter Parker's main woman, she has now come quite into her own. She has even gone on adventures of her own, has become more capable and even became an ally in action for Spider-Man. While the comics have gone sour, maybe TV can bring us back MJ and Spidey as not only a couple, but as equals who both have exciting stories to tell.

3. Marvel's (REAL) Spider-Girl (TV Series/Film) - Speaking of TV redeeming MJ and Spidey as soul mates, last I remember, at one point, they were not only happily married, they had a daughter Mayday Parker who had the mantle passed down to her long before Miles Morales, the other Gwen Stacey (Spider-Woman) and all these other modern incarnations. She is a very underrated heroine who fell into obscurity no thanks to how Marvel broke up one of its most iconic couples. She needs to make a comeback because she is the true Spider-Girl in every way possible,

4. Disney's Goofy kid's show (TV Series) - For a while, the Disney gang made a big comeback since Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and almost everyone got their own spinoff or reboot. Everyone, but Goofy which I find is a waste because unlike all the others with the exception of Pete, he actually is a father. So far, the only independent works Goofy has gotten are Goof Troop, the two Goofy Movies and two animated shorts in some holidays specials. I think Goofy can make for a great host in a kid's show because despite his goofiness, he is a very capable and in fact, wise father. He would be a lot like Mr. Rogers or Mr. Dress Up where instead just playing with kids, he's actually teaching them and even comforting them the way a father does.

5. Resident Evil's Billy Coen (Video Game) - I don't think there's an RE fan out there who hasn't wished to see what became of this beloved one off character. Between you and me, I think he's still alive and kicking zombie, and I would love see what became of him after RE0. He not only came from one of the few prequel media out there that was great, but he is a total badass with a compelling backstory. We even got to see what happened to Sherry Birkin later one. I think Billy is more than worth a chance in the spotlight.

6. Silent Hill's Heather Mason (Video Game) - I know what you're thinking, but hear me out. While she got her own game (technically, two if you count the first ever SH game), I don't believe her story should have ended with SH3. The Mason family is the closest thing to a true SH main protagonist as there is I would love to her a now adult Heather Mason still fighting the Order as it is still out there wreaking havoc. She was a great heroine and an underrated video game character in general.

7. Jurassic Park for grown ups (TV Series) - It's had a few spinoffs so far and the only that is a big hit is Camp Cretaceous. I think another one should be made and this time, it should be aimed for adults. In the beginning, JP showed a lot of promise when it came to making adult oriented spinoffs with the comics and the sequel The Lost World, but after that, it became more and more about the action and less about the horror factor and dinosaurs. Even the revival trilogy of Jurassic World lacked that horror element that adults appreciated in the first two movies and most importantly, the book. We need to make a spinoff that is aimed for grown ups without it feeling like it wants to be Indiana Jones.

8. DC's Batgirl (TV Series) - Nevermind Batwoman, Batgirl was around first AND she was solo before joining the bat family officially. I mean, even her father Jim Gordon got his own spinoff series before she did and she's actually a super. And apparently, her film never saw the light of day because it was not up to standard. I say, we make a TV series that does live up to standard AND we make it animated like we did Harley Quinn. Barbara Gordon set the standard for a lot lady supers came after her and she iconic. EVERYONE knows who Batgirl is. Even people who don't read comics know who Batgirl is. What I don't know is why she hasn't starred in her own solo media yet beyond comics.

9. DC's Catwoman (Film/TV Series) - Speaking of iconic DC heroines, it is funny how one of its most iconic anti-heroines, love interest's to Batman and just recently, bisexual supers still hasn't gotten any independent media beyond her comics. If there's one woman who doesn't need no Batman (let alone man in general) to stand on her own two feet and have a compelling story to tell, it's her. The only thing we have gotten are two films. One which is imposter media starring Halle Berry and another no one knows about. Seline Kyle deserves so much more than that. I say she gets her own proper show or at the very least, a proper film. She's worth it.

10. Capcom's Dino Crisis (Video Game) - I think this franchise only got one spinoff (two if you count the third instalment that went off the rails), and it wasn't a hit. Dino Crisis was clearly inspired by the original Jurassic Park especially when it came to horror and the feeling of being genuinely threatened by the dinosaurs. This game felt like the long lost twin sister of RE. With that said, it should get a spinoff because it's worth a last hurrah and who knows? It mind revive this lost gem of a series. I say we go for it and put our best foot forward doing it. Let it be true to the lore, the setting and theme. None of the dinos in space silliness.

Hi! Remember that time I shared my hopes and dreams for Zombies: Re-Animated? Well all the news has given me more thoughts about it! So here they are :)

I want Zeddison to stay together and happy the whole time. There is no more drama to be found in that relationship. It was cleared up in the second movie. I also want Bonzo and Bree to stay happy. Just use one of the new couples like Wyatt and Eliza or Willa and A-spen for relationship drama since they still have to fall into a steady dynamic(but also dont break up Willaspen either-)

I hope they expand on Bucky's appearant friendship(or whatever the fuck they had going on) with the main 3 werewolves from the last movie. I think that would be neat.

I just generally want more focus on non-Zeddison characters tbh. A show is a great place to explore huge ensemble casts like the one Zombies has built!!!

Resident Evil: Death Island (2023) Review

Two Resident Evil projects in one year?? Well then, Capcom really is tickling my guilty pleasures recently. The Resident Evil 4 game remake was nothing short of stupendous and proved how game remakes/remasters should be handled (looking at you Rockstar Games). Now we have a new RE 3D anime release that follows the Infinite Darkness Netflix mini-series from a few years back. Hopefully a 2 for 2 for Capcom this year?...

Plot: D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.

So evidently the most significant selling point of Death Island is that it is the first proper time it teams up the five main recurring characters of the RE franchise - Chris, Jill, Claire, Rebecca, and everyone's favourite rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy (one must mention the S.). Yes, some of these characters paired up during the infamous Resident Evil 6 - though the less said about that game the better. Regardless, Death Island finally gives us the whole team united! See this as an Avengers-level team-up movie for the Resident Evil universe. In a nutshell, this is a big moment for RE fans around the world. So Capcom better not do a Marvel Phase 4 & 5 and betray their fans' trust, right??

Resident Evil: Death Island seems like a missed opportunity. It had all the pieces that could have come together to create something truly special, however, instead the final result is a bit lazy. Don't get me wrong, if you're a fan of Resident Evil, and to be fair if you are not a fan of RE then neither this movie nor review should be interesting to you as this really is a feature-length piece of fan service. As I was saying though, as an RE fan, there is plenty to enjoy. The zombies are gory and vile; the lickers are back being as horrible as ever - I am so glad I was not holding the controller this time. Seeing our heroes together was of course entertaining, with stand-outs being Jill and Leon. I don't believe we have ever seen Jill in this badass form. She kicks ass more so than she's ever done in the games, and then Leon as per usual throws around some absolutely hilarious quips and one-liners, reminding us all why he is one of the franchise's favourites. Also must give props to the animation. We've come such a far way since the first time around when we saw our pixelated heroes enter that forsaken mansion. The computer graphics are honestly really sharp and impressive, with the creature designs, and especially during the action sequences with the use of slow motion there is some serious ass-kicking on display.

That being said, Death Island is missing something very key - emotion. I say this fully aware that we love RE for the horror and the cheesiness of it all but with all our main heroes in one movie I sort of expected to care more than I did. The thing is, the animation style of Death Island is not really capable of accurately conveying real human emotion, so wherever we have the quiet moments when we are having a break from the action, the dialogue between the characters and a scene involving the main villain exposing his convoluted plan of destruction in a slow and tedious manner comes off as really dull. Also, the premise is ridiculously simple. Our heroes go to Alcatraz (some old-school Call of Duty: Black Ops - Zombies vibes going on there). They fight some monsters, kill the main monster in the end and Bob's your uncle. There's hardly anything else to it. Speaking of the final creature they battle - the heroes look cool fighting it and apparently pulling our rocket launchers (obviously) and weapons of mass destruction out of butt-fudge nowhere, but alright, I'll just assume the Merchant from Resident Evil 4 was hiding behind one of the crates selling them some rare things for a high price. However, the creature itself, though it looked cool, did not do anything? It hardly fought back, just spent most of the time moving around slowly and staring our heroes down. Why? Like this is Resident Evil for crying out loud, we want to see our heroes kick butt of course but we also want to see the monsters fight back and be massive and intimidating. But nope, this dude just slithers around a little and takes it like a pu**y.

So the verdict. Resident Evil: Death Island certainly has its moments of entertainment, and of course seeing these legacy characters team up is wonderful, however, the movie lacks energy. When the action is there is bloody good fun, but there are too many breaks in between where characters talk and it's no fun. And yes, the endlessly monologuing baddie is a bore and his motivations? My gosh, what a wuss.

summary: you are in your school when the outbreak happened. lucky for you, your bestfriend ni-ki was there to protect and take care of you.

short background: before the outbreak happened, the spread of the infection happened when one of the student went to the science laboratory and got bitten by an infected animal.

You are still crying lightly and its been hours already ever since you knew that Ni-ki was not with you. Everything is a mess, things are starting to get out of hand and you are slowly losing hope to survive. Thankfully, (sn's y/n) was there with you. She gives you comforting words along with warm hugs that you admit to need at the moment.

You are still not over by the fact that Ni-ki was lost when another heartbreaking scene happened right in front of you. One of your classmates turned out to be bitten and even before she can turn and hurt somebody, she volunteered to throw herself out from the window.

Tears stream down your eyes as you hold unto (sn's y/n), trying not to watch the awful scene. She was smiling and bidding goodbyes them wished everyone good luck. (jw's y/n) was heart broken at her loss and somehow, your heart aches with her. To lose someone very important to you and have nothing else that you can do is frustrating. Right now, you wanted to go outside and search for Ni-ki, but you know its not a wise decision.

He will hate you if he knew you risked your life just to look for him. He promised you that he will protect and look after you. He's somewhere safe. You slowly tried to convince and comfort yourself.

Your heads snapped over to the side when a sound of glass shattering errupted the silent room. Everyone were is mourning from the loss of your classmate and here again another problem that you all need to deal with.

Since the infected are crowding in front of the science lab, the glasses of the windows were breaking. It couldn't hold much of their weight and you know its just a matter of time before they managed to get inside.

Jungwon and the other boys gathered up to talk about something. Probably to plan what to do next since you're basically trapped. You have nowhere else to go except...

Your head slowly trailed over to the big windows at the other side of the room, where (classmate's name) threw herself moments ago. It may sound crazy, but that's the only shot you have. Your heart fell, totally against it. It could be very dangerous.

But based on how Jungwon checks the hose used to crack the room open, it seems like he planned to exit through those windows as well. You cursed lightly and as Sunoo approaches, he announced that the boys did think of going to the new room through that windows.

You showered him with complaints to hide your fear. Like you said, it's very dangerous and you guys are scared and hungry already. The thing you'll use to go down is just a hose. Imagine depending your life over a hose? That's clearly insane.

You are adventurous and people may see you as someone whose fearless, but the truth is you are just like that because you have Ni-ki beside you. All those amazing adventures you had, you're always with him. He serves as your strength and your constant reminder that you could do it. And without him here, you don't know if you can do it.

On the other hand, Ni-ki cursed as he stayed crouched lowly over a table. The room is basically vacant when he entered since all of the biters are crowding the science lab across the hall. There are just a few ones luring in front of this room and the doors were broken so he couldn't close it.

He can hear their grunts and movements not far away from him. His heart beats crazily and just tried his best to stay quiet. The table have a cloth that covers him from being seen by these infected students. It was not too thick allowing him to see them walk around from time to time.

It was terrifying for him. His mind suddenly got occupied by you. He's sure he saw you with the group, surrounded by your classmates. Sunoo is with you and so it made him a little relief because he knows he'll take good care of you.

He doesn't really wanted to be separated a while ago, but he was left with no choice. He ran across the hall since a lot of them are crowding you guys. It would be impossible to hold too many biters so he sacrificed a little just to make sure you get inside safely. He wasn't sure if its successful, but he hoped it was.

Back to you, the boys already managed to arranged the things that needed to move to the other room. Sunghoon volunteered to go first to check if the audio-visual room is really vacant. Your eyes unconsciously looked at (sh's y/n) and despite her cold face, you saw a glint of worry lingers through her eyes. It's her fiancé, anyway. After all, despite all the fights Sunghoon was the only one who's always there for her.

When he announced that it was safe to move, the boys instructed that girls should go first. Your eyes darted at the hand that held your arm softly.

"Can you encourage, (sn's y/n)? She's afraid of heights. I'll help them arrange something for a while." it was Sunoo.

You agreed right away and approached her with a small smile. She seemed very scared and worried while looking at the window.

"I heard from Sunoo that you're afraid of heights?" you started to catch her attention. She looked at you and there's still this amused expression that plays through her pretty eyes.

Ever since you started hanging out with her, she always have that face. Like she couldn't believe about a certain thing. You shrug it off and focused on cheering her on. She helped you calm down a while ago, it's just right for you to do her a favor as well.

You told her that you'll go first so she can watch and feel more comfortable with it. Stepping over the table, Jay helped you. A cold breeze greets you as you near the big windows. The boys assisting you were saying things, but your mind was too occupied about another thing.

You imagined Ni-ki beside you like always. You imagined him saying comforting things and encouraging you, assuring you that he will just be there for you. It sure was helpful to ease some of your worry and fear.

You let out a big sigh and smiled over to Jay then over to (sn's y/n).

"See you there!" you said before starting to climb down.

In the middle of going down, you can hear them continuously shouting things like 'you got it, y/n!' 'keep going!' 'you're almost there.' and so many more. As you make your last step, a hand reached over your waist congratulating you for doing well. It was Sunghoon and you just gave him a smile.

You stepped down and your eyes grew at the sight of your homeroom teacher. She quickly embarced you, telling you how happy she is that you are okay. You couldn't help but to start crying now.

"N-Ni-ki got separated." you announced. She cupped your face, looking at you with sorrowful eyes.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure he is alright so don't worry, hmm?" she tried consoling you.

Hours passed by and Ni-ki can already feel his back aching because of his position. He was trying to massage it lightly when he heard the biters grunting. He stopped from his movements, thinking that it was him that caught their attention. But to his surprise, they started storming out of the room.

After making sure that the room were now vacant of biters, Ni-ki slowly crawled out from his hiding spot. He checked his surroundings and was about to start finding a way to cover the door, when he heard screams from somewhere. It's not the type of terrified screams, but instead he can hear them talking things like 'you can do it!'

It caught his attention he quickly moved over to the window to see what it was. He furrowed his brows in confusion as he couldn't believe what he's seeing.

"What the fuck..." he mumbled to himself as he watch how his classmates slowly go down the other room using a freaking hose.

He thought they were crazy, but he's no one to talk now because he's about to make a crazy move as well. He carefully stepped outside the window of the room he was and used the small space as his way closer to where you guys at.

The breeze blew over him, making him take deep breaths before slowly glancing beneath him. It was a long way down and he's sure if he wouldn't be careful, he will die from the fall. He shut his eyes and tried to calm himself.

"Calm down, Ni-ki. You got this." he tried convincing himself then started to move.

When he's close enough, he looked back and saw that it was his Jungwon hyung whose going down the hose. He was about to call him, but then a biter tried to follow him. It loses it balance and fell from the window but managed to grab onto Jungwon's leg.

Ni-ki cursed at the scene and stepped to another steep space, the room just above his Jungwon hyung.

"Jungwon hyung!" he called his attention. He glanced over him and despite the situation he was in, he couldn't hide the joy he felt seeing the younger one.

"Kick it!" he tried to instruct him.

"What do you think am I doing?" he sarcastically responded to him.

Ni-ki cursed and stared down to see how high he is from the ground. He huffed and tried shut the thoughts he's having inside his mind. He's think of something crazy and he wouldn't let these thoughts halt him.

"I will jump to you, hyung!" he announced just so the older one have an idea of his plan.

He saw the hesitation from his eyes, "What? W-Wait!"

But he didn't let even his hyung's words to stop him. He quickly jumped and managed to get a grip over his waist. Jungwon lets out a grunt as Ni-ki tried to kick the biter beneath them. After he managed to get rid of it, they both laugh together only to be interrupted by the sound of the hose giving up.

Ni-ki quickly made his way down, his hyungs greets him in joy but he couldn't focus at them as he was busy roaming his eyes in search for you. He was greeted by your tight embrace together with your soft cries that broke something in him.

He pursed his lips and returned the hug. He placed a soft kiss just beside your head before muttering comforting words for you. It didn't stop you from crying, tho. You continued and Ni-ki just hold you the whole time.

"I t-thought I lost you!" you managed to utter these words in between your cries.

Ni-ki pulls away and cupped your face. You have small cuts at your cheeks, but all in all you looked pretty as always. He smiled and wanted to lighten the mood by teasing you.

"What? I'm a little offended you think of your best friend as a weakling, y/n." he said in a teasing tone, but you have no time for it.

Instead of cursing him, you once again slid your arms over his waist hugging him. Making sure he's close enough for you to feel that he was really there. That he was real and that you aren't hallucinating due for too much longing for him.

Ni-ki was stunned and he then realized how scared you must have been to cling to him like this. He clenched his jaw and returned your hug even tighter then continued assuring you.

Once you calmed down, you sat beside (sn's y/n) while everybody else crowds the computer they found. Your eyes were fixed at Ni-ki. A small part of you still couldn't believe that he's here with you again.

"Do you think I should confess?" you suddenly blurt out for (sn's y/n). When you saw the surprise look she had, you let out a chuckle.

"Was it that not obvious? Maybe why he doesn't know it himself." you said and trailed back over to Ni-ki.

She cleared her throat, "N-No! I was just surprised." she said using this soft voice of hers.

Your head snaps at her and you couldn't help but to admire her. Some part of you felt bad because you didn't pay much attention to the people around you. You're not that sociable and prefers to keep your circle small, but after meeting (sn's y/n), you thought to yourself why you didn't approach her.

She's considerate, sweet and shy. You are very thankful that she's here with you and that you managed to make friends with her. Sadly, you feel bad that if it wasn't for this outbreak, you wouldn't made the first move to befriend her. This chaos had good things served for you and meeting her was one of it.

"What about you, (sn's y/n)? Do you like someone?" you asked her, wanting to know her more.

Your mind suddenly thought of your friend, Sunoo, when you asked that question. It may not be noticeable by others, but for you it was obvious how he looks after her. He always scanned the room for her and made sure she's all right. You know him very well and its not something he would do just for anyone, despite being nice and friendly. You knew something's going on.

"Umm..." she said glancing away, totally shy.

She looked adorable for you and the fact that she's blushing made you even more curious. You sat straightly, totally emerged over it.

"I promise to keep it between the two of us!" you tried to convince her.

She pursed her lips and nervously said that name you somehow expected. "Kim Sunoo."

You couldn't help a victory smile to spread across your face when she said his name. "That's crazy because I actually think he likes you too!" the words slipped from your mouth even before you can stop it.

She looked really flustered about it, "N-No! He's just really nice to everyone-"

You cut her words, "Trust me! Kim Sunoo do-" this time, it was your words that has been cut off.

"I what?" it was Sunoo.

When you glanced back at (sn's y/n), she seemed really surprised and flustered about it. You pursed your lips before letting out a chuckle, "Nothing!"

Even before you can say another word, you felt a warm hand holding yours to catch your attention. You saw how Ni-ki stood beside you, staring at you with serious eyes. You flashed him a smile, despite the racing of your heart.

"Hi!" you greets and intertwined your fingers with him. He carefully roamed his eyes around your face before smiling a little.

He leaned closer and placed a kiss at your forehead that caught you off-guard. "Damn, at least I have you despite of all these chaos." he mumbled that made you blush so crazy.

You were all resting when suddenly something happened that resulted for yet another arguments between the class. (sh's y/n) was accusing Sunghoon of being scratched by one of the infected students right after trying to save one of your classmates.

You heard Ni-ki lets out an unamused sigh. He seemed to be so done with her and just decided to keep his mouth shut. He walks closer to you after managing to help calming his friend down.

Both of your eyes met and just by looking at him, you already knew he had a lot of things he wanted to say.

"Don't even think of saying something about her." you tried to get ahead of him, defending poor (sh's y/n). You understand her bad behavior and foul attitude but you are well aware of how scared she is too. At some point, you felt yourself losing your mind a while ago after losing Ni-ki.

Ni-ki rolled his eyes before grabbing your hands to play with it and entertain himself. "I'm not even gonna say a word." he said.

You looked at him while he's so emerged over your hands, finding it confusing to what's so amusing about it. Instead of figuring it out, you glanced back at the commotion and saw how your teacher solved it.

Sunghoon went inside the recording room, isolating himself while (sh's y/n) agreed to tell him sorry once proven that he wasn't infected. You watch her stand alone by the corner while the judgmental eyes stared at her. You felt bad at her, but couldn't find the right word to say because you know she will just reject your comfort.

After an hour, it was time for her to go inside and say sorry. Ni-ki lets out another tired sigh before walking towards the water dispenser to get you some water. Your eyes kept watching how she walks inside and slowly approached Sunghoon whose facing his back at her.

"Drink some." your eyes moved towards the water he was giving you then to him.

"Thanks. How about you?" he watch how you carefully took a sip from the water he handed you.

"I already had some." he answered and even made sure you finished the whole cup before both of you looked back at the recording studio.

Ni-ki smirked as he watch how his hyung pulls her into a hug like as if she didn't just risked his life moments ago. "He's crazy for her. No doubt." he commented that caught your attention.

You pursed your lips. "Well that's love. It can make you do crazy things." you said that made him furrow his brows, now turning his whole body to face you.

"How'd you know? Are you in love, y/n?" his question took you by surprise that you even moved away from him a bit.

You blinked, feeling your heart racing like you just ran a marathon.

"W-What..." you couldn't construct a proper word.

The creased over his forehead deepened as he shift his weight to his other leg, eyes not leaving you.

"To whom?" he asked sounding impatient. He leaned closer and you can see his face clearly.

It made you so nervous. You planned to confess, but not this soon and definitely not this way. You rested both of your hands over his chest to stop him from leaning even closer.

“U-Uhm..” you cleared your throat feeling your cheeks burning up.

“Nevermind.” he spat and then started walking towards the direction of his friends. You pouted and your shoulder fell a bit.

It somehow made you sad how he just turned around, but you understand that maybe he just don’t want to push you on telling him. You sighed and watch him listen to what his hyung is saying. His brows were hardly furrowed.

‘Just wait a bit more, Ni-ki.’ you thought to yourself and then tried to divert your attention towards other things.

Later on, your teacher told everyone to call it a day and that all of you should get some rest. The boys talked on how to split the time on guarding the doors. You silently watch them discuss it seriously and realized how lucky you girls are to have them. They don’t even need to be told, they just volunteered on protecting everyone.

Ni-ki taps his Jay hyung’s should before walking towards your direction. You sat straight and smiled at him, “When are you going to guard the door?” you asked curiously.

He sighed and sat beside you, moving even closer like as if he ain’t close enough. He rest one of his arm over your knee, “Later. Why?”

“I will guard it with you!” you smiled to show him that you sincerely want to do it with him. He showed you a smile and chuckles.

“Nah, you just rest.” he said and smoothly took off his coat to wrap it over your shoulder since its getting a little chilly.

You pouted, “I want to accompany you tho.” he glanced back at your eyes after making sure you are feeling more warm using his coat. You held his arm and rested your head over his shoulder.

“Please?” you rarely do it, but you tried using your puppy eyes with him.

Ni-ki blushed at the sight right in front of him. You looked so adorable with your lips pouted and your doe eyes flashing at him. Not to mention how close your pretty face is to him. Just one move and he’s sure his lips will touch yours.

He gulped, feeling his heart beating rapidly at the thought. He shut his eyes for a bit, trying to get rid of it before just nodding his head at you. He heard how you cheered a bit before cuddling closer to him.

“Let's take a nap first.” you mumbled, sounding so tired and sleepy.

Ni-ki opened his eyes and looked at you comfortably leaning over his shoulder, cuddling the best way you can. He smirked then scoffed before gently pressing a kiss at the top of your head.

You didn’t even realized that you fell asleep. Maybe because you are so tired and due to hunger as well. You stirred from your sleep and slowly opened your eyes when you felt that Ni-ki was not beside you. Feeling a bit scared, you roamed your eyes around and found him by the door talking with one of your classmates.

When you check the clock, it was almost 4 am. It is his time to guard the door. You pouted, feeling bad that you didn’t accompany him.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” you asked him the moment you’re beside him.

He glanced at you, “You were sleeping soundly.” he answered and smiled a little before one of his hand extended to reach for you. He guided you to sit at the space near him.

You glanced at the classmate he was talking to moments before your arrival. You flashed him a smile and waved a little, “Hi.” you mumbled.

His eyes grew a bit big and his cheeks reflected a light tint of pink. “H-Hello, y/n!” he greeted you that you only returned with a smile.

Ni-ki’s brows furrowed at the reaction that the guy just showed. It was obvious that he’s interested in you. Is that why he tries to talk to him a while ago? Is he trying to somehow get close to him? He clenched his jaw and possessively snaked his arm over your waist while eyeing the guy.

“Aren’t you sleepy?” you asked and even scooted closer to Ni-ki because he was pulling you towards him. You didn’t mind his action and thought of it as a normal behavior from him whenever he feels clingy with you.

“No.” Ni-ki and the guy both answered in the same time. He shoot glares at him that made him glance away nervously.

“She was asking me.” he spats towards him that made him lower his head down.

You furrowed your brows at what he said and hit his arm once. “Hey,” you tried catching his attention. He did turn his head to look at you.

“Don’t be rude.” you whispered and looked back to the guy.

“I’m sorry for his behavior. He’s just like this sometimes.” you tried apologizing in his behalf. Your classmate shake his hand telling you that it was totally fine.

“U-Uh I will just get some water.” the guy said and you gave him a nod. After he walks away, you stood up and stand right in front of Ni-ki.

He raised his head to look at you since he’s sitting down. You crossed your arms in front of him even though you saw how he seemed pissed.

“I can’t believe you’re so rude to him!”

He rolled his eyes, “So what.”

“What do you mean so what!” you spat, couldn’t believe him before tilt your head trying to catch his eyes.

“And here I thought you were already making friends a while ago.” you commented.

He glanced at you, “That’s before I knew he’s interested with you.” he uttered in a very upset tone.

Your eyes grew at what you heard. “Huh? How can you say he’s interested with me?” you sound so clueless and it makes him feel frustrated.

He groaned, “You’re always dense when it comes to guys who likes you.” he said lowly.

You scoffed at him, “Coming from you?” the sarcasm from your tone made him furrowed his brows in confusion.

“What do you mean by that?”

“You’re dense too when it comes to people who likes you.”

Ni-ki tilts his head, “No, I’m not.”

You smirked and rolled your eyes. “Whatever.” and then you opened your arms asking for a hug to console the sulking baby duck.

He stared at you for a while before letting out a sigh then pulling your arm for a hug. He caged you in a tight embrace then say, “I hate it when other guys tries to get your attention.”

You gulped and blush while still inside his embrace.

“I hate it when other girls does too.” you admitted that grew a small smirk over Ni-ki’s pretty lips.

The next day, they came up with a new plan and that is to try and get a mobile phone from the faculty room which is a floor beneath where you are currently in. You are silently listening to them talking and planning something. Well, the plan sounded so dangerous for you. It will surely take risks.

“Are you sure about this?” even your homeroom teacher thinks that this plan is very risky.

“Yes. We need to at least try.” Jungwon said determined to execute this one.

“Who will go?” one asked.

For some reasons, your heart beats faster. Jungwon raised his hand without hesitation and your body frozed when you saw from your peripheral that Ni-ki raised his too.

“I can go with hyung.” Ni-ki volunteered.

You furrowed your brows as your chest ache, “No! Don’t go, Ni-ki.” you couldn’t stop yourself from bursting out. Your grip over his uniform was tight, afraid to lose it even for a little.

Ni-ki faced you then slowly cupped your face. He flashed you this warm comforting smile. “Don’t worry, okay? I will be back. We need to get a phone in order to ask for help.” he assured you.

Despite his words, you could not agree with him. Your fear is having the best of you. Just by thinking of losing him out of your sight once again just makes you feel scared. You don’t want him to go there, not when you know its his life he’s risking.

You shake your head and started crying. He smiled a little, heart aching a bit seeing you this way. He hates to see you crying, but he knows he needs to do this. If he wants you safe, he needs to take action of asking help. At a situation like this, he won’t hesitate to risk his life if he will save yours in return.

He pulled you over his chest and kissed at your head, “Its going to be okay. Please don’t cry because it will make it harder for me to go and I don’t want to go out there with the memory of you crying.” he said and slowly you tried to calm yourself.

You know you can’t do anything to stop him. The only thing left was to support him and to pray for his safe return. After managing to calm down, you glance back up at him then pouted.

“You know sometimes I hate how fearless you are.” you said and stared right at his eyes.

He smiled, but you saw a glint of sadness flashes through his eyes. “How can I be fearless if I fear of losing you?” he fired back that caught you off-guard.

Tears once again continuously flows. “I fear that too! That’s why I don’t want you to go!”

He chuckles and leaned in to place a sweet kiss at your nose. “You won’t lose me.”

You sniffed and stared right at his eyes. It took moments before you finally calm down completely and accepts that he needs to go.

The class then all helped to gather things that can help Ni-ki and Jungwon for their mission. You seriously wrap some magazines over Ni-ki’s arms. Both of you are silent. You’re not mad at him for volunteering, you’re just very worried. Tears don’t stop streaming down your face while wrapping magazines over his arms.

After finishing, you heard him let out a heavy sigh before he pulls you over his chest for an embrace. That’s when you burst out crying again.

“Shh.” he comforts you.

“J-Just make sure you come back to me, please.” you mumbled.

Ni-ki placed his lips over your head and just enjoys your warmth. “I will.”

You slowly leaned away from his hug then you glance at him, “Let’s talk when you’re back. I w-will tell you something.”

Ni-ki furrowed his brows, but his eyes still looked soft. “Can’t you tell it to me now?”

You shook your head ‘no’ right away, “Later.”

“But you got me curious now.”

“Then you have to make it back for you to know.” you stared right at his eyes.

He silently did the same thing and in the end, he sighed and nodded his head. “I’ll be back soon.”

You stood there as you watch Ni-ki and Jungwon went out from those windows. The emotions you are feeling right now was unexplainable. Your head turned over to the side when you felt someone held your hand.

“He'll be back.” (sn’s y/n) assured you.

You flashed her a smile. “He better be.”

The whole time that Ni-ki was not yet back, you can’t breath properly. You paced back and fort. Everyone was silent too, praying that both of the two boys went back safely.

The moment your eyes saw Ni-ki climbing back up, the joy in you couldn’t be put into words. You ran towards him and quickly hugged him. Sadly, Jungwon didn’t came back with him. Ni-ki said they were caught by lot of biters and his hyung run towards the hallway then asked him to go back through the window.

You were caressing his back as he tries to explain, trying to comfort him. It was evident how he felt so bad leaving him behind. After he said what happened, his friends comforted him and told him that he was not at fault. You cupped his face and scanned ever inch of it.

“I told you, I’ll be back.” he said and you didn’t respond right away. Taking your time to stare at his face before leaning slowly to place a kiss at his cheeks.

“I’m glad you’re back.”

He was caught off-guard, you can tell base on how his eyes grew a bit big. Even before he can say anything, you moved away and walked towards (jw’s y/n) to give her a tight hug. You know how bad she’s feeling right now. She cries softly and returned your hug while you say comforting things for her.

Thankfully, later on, one of your classmates remembered that there’s this drone that can be used to scan the whole building. You can check where Jungwon is and also try to find a way to get out of the building if ever there’s any.

As you all anticipate for what the drone will find, you are hoping you’ll get to see where Jungwon is. Everyone was so emerged to small screen of your classmate’s phone. You even squint your eyes a bit whenever they scream altogether due to excitement or disappointment.

You couldn’t explain how the joy in your faces appeared after getting to see that Jungwon was totally fine. Jake was even with him at the music room. The relief over Ni-ki’s face can be seen. You knew how bad he must’ve felt when he left his hyung back there.

You slid your arms over his waist to catch his attention. He turned and smiled warmly before pulling you into a hug. “He’s safe, y/n!”

You lightly taps his back with a warm smile over your lips.

“I told you he’ll be all right.” and after that, your class didn’t waste anytime to plan your next move.

Someone came up of the plan to go over the music room since its closer to the rooftop. If the authorities will come to rescue you, it would probably from the air since the whole school are packed with biters. Its too risky to travel on land and the goverment is surely not dumb to risk that much.

While everyone is preparing themselves, you felt Ni-ki stood beside and held your arm. You slowly trailed your eyes from his hand that holding you, towards him.

“Stay close to me all the time.” he reminded for the nth time. You chuckled. “I told you I will.”

He rolled his eyes, “I’m serious, Y/n. I can’t protect you well if you’ll be far from me.”

You nodded, “Please look out for yourself as well.”

He stared at your eyes and gulped. The thought of confessing to you occured to him numerous times already, but he knew its not the right time to suddenly blurt it out.

After managing to lure the biters over to the other side, all of you moved carefully towards the music room. Ni-ki was in front of you, his one hand holding yours to make sure he ain’t losing you incase something happens.

It was going smoothly until one of your hit the metal railings of the stairs causing a loud sound to errupt. It caught the attention of many biters that quickly dashed towards your direction. All of you shrieked in fear and started running towards the direction of the music room.

You got pushed and all, but Ni-ki always manage to pull you back to your feet. Tears were over your eyes unable to even see clearly.

“Go to the music room, quick!” Ni-ki shouted and even gave you a light push before fighting those biters that comes after your group.

You were about to do as you told when you saw that (sn’s y/n) was stuck. You didn’t waste any time to help her. The look on her eyes when she saw you was both relief and fear. She doesn’t want you to stay back and help her. She wants you to save yourself, but you disagree. You won’t leave her behind. Nobody deserves to be left behind and besides, she’s your friend.

Thankfully, just in time the boys came to the rescue. You got her out, but due to the number of infected students running your way, it all got chaotic and you got separated from some of them.

Ni-ki pulled you towards the music room where most of your classmates went to. You are still catching your breath when he slowly pulled you into a hug, placing soft kisses at your forehead while eyes tightly shut.

“Did you see Sunoo and (sn’s y/n)?” you asked worriedly.

Ni-ki was still huffing heavily when he pulls away to cup your face, “Yes, they went up the rooftop.”

That made you relieved. At least they made it there already. Ni-ki made you sit down to rest and gather more energy. You can breath for a while because later you will go out once again to head over the building’s rooftop.

As you roam your eyes around, you can see how they’re all exhausted. If you come to think of it, you were all just normal students yesterday. Goofing, studying and spending your normal day in your school. Who would expect any of this will happen?

Your head snaps over to the side when you felt a warm hand holding your hand. It was Ni-ki.

“Hey, you good? Are you hurt?” he asked worriedly. He did saw you fell over the floor countless times.

You pouted, “I’m j-just sad...” you sighed, trying to push back the tears that once again trying to come out your eyes. “..we lost a lot.”

He sighed and pulled you so you can lean over his shoulder. He caress your back gently and rest his head at your head. “I’m so scared, Ni-ki. We don’t know what will happen next.”

“All I know is that I will always do my best to protect you.” he muttered assuring and comforting you.

One of his hand kept his hold to your hand, playing with your fingers like how he used to. His other hand was caressing your back gently.

“Thank you so much.” you mumbled and slowly moved a little so you can look at him in the eyes.

Ni-ki stared straight to your eyes as well. You two stared at each other with no words being uttered, your hearts beating in sync without being known by any of you. Ni-ki gulped, he had seen you up-close a lot of times already, but this moment seem to be a different one. Maybe due to all the things both of you went through, it all got mixed up altogether causing this unknown feeling to emerge.

You let out a sigh and slowly leaned closer placing a kiss at his cheeks. It caught him off-guard and speechless. With blushing cheeks you leaned back and acted like nothing just happened. Ni-ki was in cloud nine. That was the first time you did that and its making him crazy.

He pulled himself back together then snuggled closer if its even possible before dropping a kiss at your head and then leaned his head at yours.

“Are you sure you have the phone in that locker?” one of your classmates asked (jw’s y/n) when she suddenly remembered about the phone she said that was in their locker.

You gulped and got nervous that now that they’re planning to go and get that phone to use calling the authorities, Ni-ki might volunteer once again.

You held over his arm that made him face you, “Please don’t volunteer.” you whispered.

Yes, it may sound a little selfish. But you want to make sure he’ll stay safe too. He gave you a small smile then intertwined your hands.

“I won’t. I don’t want you to go to the rooftop without me. I want to be there to protect you.” it somehow made you relieved.

Jungwon and Sunghoon ended up going to get the phone. Your eyes followed Sunghoon silently as he walked towards to the now worried looking (sh’s y/n). You can’t blame her to look like that. You know how bad it feels to watch someone important risk their life for the group. Even if it can benefit everyone and even if you trust them, you can’t take away the fear of losing them.

Soon, you did the plan and stacked chairs that can serve as barrier at the half part of the music room. You plan to gather them all up over to that side of the room so it can clear your way over to the rooftop.

“Now!” Ni-ki tugged you towards the rooftop.

There still a few biters you encountered on your way, but the plan surely helped a lot. You yelped when you’re being pushed by some of your classmates due to panic. Ni-ki cursed and held your waist to pull you out of there. He placed you near the stairs to the rooftop, “Go on! Knock, Sunoo hyung is there. I’ll follow up.”

You’re a little hesitant to leave him while all of this are happening but he gave you an assuring smile, “I’ll follow you, baby. Don’t worry.”

“I'll see you there.” you then run towards the rooftop and was met with Sunoo who came out to help the others.

He gladly greeted you and asked you to go inside. (sn’s y/n) was there waiting so you rushed to her to give her a big hug. You are really glad to see her again.

Your head turned over to the door when they came inside. Ni-ki’s eyes quickly searched for you and you run towards him to greet him. He caged you over his embrace.

You thought it was all going according to plan, not until you realized that (sh’s y/n) was left back there. The worst part is two of your own classmates planned to do it. It was too cruel for you since they can even think of doing such things despite of being in this situation. Evil truly don’t choose any time.

Soon, Jungwon and Sunghoon arrived. As expected he was at rage knowing about what happened. Ni-ki cursed and lets go from your hold when he saw his hyung going back to to go get (sh’s y/n). You watch silently. He didn’t stop him and just cursed again.

“If something bad happened to Sunghoon hyung, its all your fault.” he told (random name) and you walked towards him to hold his arm.

Everyone fell silent after it and you sat down over the corner while you wait for help to come. Jungwon managed to make a call and you’re hoping help will arrive in no time.

You were leaning over Ni-ki, enjoying the warmth he was giving while snuggling close to you.

“I just remembered,” he suddenly broke the silence between the two of you.

“What?” you asked.

“Before I left the audio-visual room, you told me you will tell me something.”

Your eyes grew a bit after remembering it as well. Heart instantly racing, you got caught off-guard. You’re suddenly having second thoughts on confessing. You were spacing out a bit, but at the end you decided to give it a go. All of these happened already. Being rejected should be the least of your concern. And you and Ni-ki had bee through a lot due to this outbreak, right? There’s no way he will cut you off that easily.

You sighed and slowly pulled away from him. With heart racing, you faced him making sure you can see his eyes. Ni-ki’s heart were racing for unknown reason as well. He have a lot in mind. What could it be that you want to tell him? Whatever it is, he made up his mind that he will confess right after you say it.

“I’m in love with you.”

Ni-ki was beyond surprise. He was speechless. The sentences he was forming inside his mind for confessing suddenly dissipated. He couldn’t explain his own feelings.

You blinked and got nervous right away. You pursed your lips, “It’s o-okay if you don’t feel the same way! I understand—” your words were cut off when his lips were not over yours.

Your eyes grew and you’re stoned at your position. When he tilt his head to give you a deeper kiss, you snapped back to reality and managed to return his kiss for a few seconds before he leaned away.

“I’m in love with you as well, dummy.”

You blushed hard despite of his annoying nickname. He smirked and was about to lean in for another kiss, but you stopped him using a hand over his chest.

“What? F-For how long?” you asked curious.

Ni-ki rolles his eyes, “From the time you cried over that stupid kite.”

Your mouth fell, “That was fifth grade!” you couldn’t believe what you just learned.

He chuckled and cupped your face so he can give you kisses over your cheeks and chin. “Yes. I was pretty damn crazy ever since.”

You pouted, blushing hard. “And all along I thought you’re not interested in me.”

“All along I thought you like Sunoo hyung.”

That was another shock for you. “What?! Is that why you are rude to him sometimes?”

He glanced away, guilty. You smirked and tried to catch his eyes. “I can’t believe you got jealous with your own friend.”

He furrowed his brows and looked at you, “How can I not? You are so touchy with him!”

“It's because he’s my friend!”

“Tsk.” he clicked his tongue before pulling you into a tight hug, “From now on, you have to distance yourself from him.”

You chuckled nuzzling over his chest, “All right. Only because you’re cute.”

“I love you, Ni-ki.” you said while leaning over his chest. You can hear his heartbeat. It was beating for you.

“I love you more, y/n.” he mumbled and placed a kiss at the top of your head. And just in time, you heard the sound of a helicopter from a far.
