Wdym it's the end of the world and someone would sacrifice themselves for the sake of others? It's all happening too fast, let's go back before we turn apeshit this Saturday!

No hurt for now, I've had enough of mental breakdown bcoz of it. Baby Clawthorne sisters fluff, y'all!

The merciless cries echoed vast and loud across the hall made the curly-haired witch jolt from her sleep. The bags under her eyes are too young to take place in a toddler's tiny face. Blinking a few times to remove the sleep in her eyes, it only took her a peak to know that even the night couldn't be spared by her little sister's demand for attention.

Titan, it's the middle of the night! What does that little gremlin want now, this time?

She realized the cries weren't going away any time soon, so she put on her glasses and hopped out of bed with a groan. Days and nights aren't peaceful enough for a nap or sleep, especially since her chaotic little sister has finally become a member of the Clawthorne family. So waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of her cries is no longer a big deal. Pushing herself out of bed to attend to her sister's needs when her parents aren’t available is the real deal.

As she passed through the corridor, she noticed a faint light coming from the living room. When she took a peak, she found both her parents still sound asleep despite a show still running at the crystal ball and the sound of their youngest battling whose sound was the loudest.

Instead of bothering to wake them up, little Lilith went down to turn the crystal ball off and returned to her original job to pacify her little sister. Titan knows her parents deserve to have a little rest.

Now, back to the gremlin. When she creaked open the door to her nursery, she wished for once that she had been born deaf. If the sound that echoed down the halls is considered to awake the whole village, then the sound just outside the nursery door is enough to wake the entire isles, maybe even the Titan itself, just to make that horrible sound stop.

She found the trouble that cost her good night's sleep standing on her wooden crib. Using both of her tiny hands to clutch the wooden bars tightly to support her weight, her golden eyes shining with tears found her big sister's tired eyes.

And just like that, Lilith immediately melted. Not in the name of Titan that she’ll glare at those soft fiery golden eyes. Maybe soon when she’s big enough to handle her temper, but not now yet.

“What now, Eda? Can't you give us a good night's sleep for once?” She may still be cranky about the sudden wake-up call, but she won't be using a higher tone of voice on the little gremlin for revenge.

Eda immediately stretched her arms towards her as the sight of her made her crying stop. Her tiny lips trembled dangerously as sweat, snot, and tears disgustingly stuck on her face.

Lilith did what she was taught to do. Lowering the rails of the crib, Lilith gently lifted her and carried Eda to her chest to bring her little body to rest. "There, there, hush now." She whispered tenderly as she gently slid her hand from the back of Eda's head down to her small back repeatedly while giving her a little rock.

"Are you hungry?"

Eda is still in tears, but unlike lately, she's now completely silent with only a few hiccups to unleash. To her surprise, she felt Eda nod like she understood her as she laid her cheeks on her sister's shoulder. "Nem-nem..."

Lilith knows that there's a bottle of milk lying around here somewhere, but she's too tired and lazy to seek it when it's already hidden in plain sight. She's still practicing her circles to summon things out of nowhere, just in case she'll mistakenly summon winged snakes, she didn't try to draw one so that she could make Eda's drink. Instead, she decided it would be best if she just looked at one of her drinks in the kitchen, where her mother always keeps a stash of those.

“I'm gonna get you a new, erm, nem-nem. So stay here-“ But before she could even put her down in the crib, the little orange spitfire started to wail a lot louder again as she clutched the fabric of her sister's clothes even tighter. It was a sign that her little sister wouldn't let her leave from then on. So, with a sigh, she snatched the towel hanging on her crib and damped it gently on her face to remove the snot and tears.

"Okay. Just be silent or else I'll let the bed bugs eat you. " She taunted them as they got out of her room. Since it was dark, she drew a circle, and a ball of light appeared. It made Eda in awe as she tried to reach it. Lilith chuckled before letting her have the ball of light as she created another. One for each.

The two sisters passed down the stairs, silently walked away from their parents, sound asleep in the living room, and reached the kitchen with a ball of light guiding their way. For a three-year-old and a half, her height couldn't even reach the handle of the fridge, even on her tiptoes. Pursing her lips, she pulled a chair and made Eda sit on it as she stepped away to figure out how to open the fridge, which Eda quickly followed for her elder sister's touch.

Lilith didn't notice that Eda was trying to reach for her as she was concentrating to at least cast a spell that would open the fridge one way or another 'coz it is sealed tight. It wasn't until the very last second that she returned her gaze to Eda, and her heart began to race quickly and loudly. She saw her at the edge, and with one swift move, she crouched and stretched her arms in time before her sister could even land face down on the ground.

Then there was a thud.

Lilith's ears perked up by the sound the chair made as it came into contact with the hard floor. She quickly stood up with Eda close to her chest, unminding the icky drool her little sister wiped on her clothes. Then, she felt Eda wiggle excitedly, muttering incoherent words she had a hard time understanding while pointing something behind her back. Confused at first, she followed what was making her sister fuss and turned her heel.

When she saw something in the dark, her heart beat faster. Two figures with two pairs of glowing eyes stared menacingly in their direction. Lilith instinctively clutched Eda even tighter, burying her face in her shoulder as her stance turned into something protective. The figures seemed to get closer, and when Lilith was about to scream and wake the soul out of their sleeping parents, the shadows spat the scary figures and showed two familiar faces that she definitely didn't want to see again at the shadows.

"Hawksley! Both of you scared me!" She whispered a little loudly. Tension immediately left her body as the two approached.

When she saw the look her mother's palisman was giving her, she pursed her lips. It seems like she's seeing her mother in Hawksley's place. Well, he's her familiar after all.

The strong flapping of wings that Hawksley made as they flew made Eda giggle as the wind brushed their face. The yellow cardinal perched on her other shoulder, immediately catching Eda's attention as her little sister's baby hands tried to catch the bird in one quick move. It made Lilith chuckle when she saw how irritated Eda was when their father's cardinal flew even faster than she was to catch them.

"I was just trying to get her a drink because she was crying because she was hungry," she explained. Pursing her lips, an idea popped in her mind. "Now that you're here, would you do me a favor and get Eda's milk? so that we could get a decent sleep in just a couple minutes."

Her proposal seems to make Hawksley agree with the idea of sleep. But then, as Lilith waited for Hawksley to do something, it just stared at her for a whole minute before she figured he wouldn't be helping her do the task.

"Hawksley is bad." Then she stuck out her tongue and used her free hand to pull the skin beneath her eye downwards, forming a goofy look. Eda found it funny and blew raspberry directly at her sister's mouth that made Lilith yelp and disgustedly spat on the ground like it's some kind of drink that their Mom often makes. The giant bird cawed and tilted its head, watching in amusement.

Then, when Lilith was about to put her sister on the floor because it's much safer for her on solid ground, Hawksley circled the sisters and stopped mid-flight in front of Eda, who was now petting the yellow cardinal carefully. Lilith had no clue what he was up to when suddenly, it dug its talons inside Eda's mane of orange hair, which immediately sent Lilith into a panic.

"Hawksley, stop! Your claws might hurt her! " She tried to take a couple steps back to shoo the giant bird away, but it didn't. The idea of Eda getting lines of scratches on her scalp made Lilith upset and angry. When she looked at her sister, instead of her already throwing a fit over the uneasy movements around her, the little one looked unbothered. In fact, she even looks like she's about to laugh. What?

Lilith stayed still while keeping a watchful eye between Hawksley and Eda's unbothered looks despite the sharp claws their mother's palisman had. Sure, she trusted him to be careful with her, especially since Eda is still a chaotic baby, but it's best to get cautious about what's about to happen if those talons ever dig deeper into her orange fluff of hair. For a one-year-old, Eda has already developed a mane of hair, forming in a way that's just like their mother's. She won't be surprised if Eda is also able to fit unending supplies of things—

Wait... just like... their mother's!

The moment she figured out the reason why the giant bird was behaving like that, Hawksley presented the answer itself. Eda's half-empty bottle of milk was clutched tightly around the hawk's talons. Lilith let out a relieved huff that was shortly followed by a snort as the little Clawthorne set eyes on it and snatched it quick to finally have her midnight drink.

"So that's where it went." She trailed, watching her sister hungrily devour the drink she'd been on the hunt for this night. She then looked back at Hawksley, who was resting on top of the counter, and gave the bird an apologizing look.

"Sorry for doubting you, Hawksley. Thanks for helping me out. " She said sincerely, and the hawk let out an affirmative caw. Lilith brought her attention back to her sister, who was already halfway through finishing the drink. "Let's get you to bed."

The palismans led the way for their masters' daughters to get to their respective quarters. The yellow cardinal flew ahead with a ball of light above its head for the eldest to see which way to go, while the giant hawk trails behind the young Clawthornes, a ball of light above its head too, making sure that the eldest won't fall as she takes the stairs.

As they reached Eda's nursery, Eda had already finished her drink and was now being her giddy and energized self. Titan, it's not even halfway daylight yet.

She knew very well that forcing her to sleep would only make the spitfire regain more of her energy. Not only did she watch her mother prove that point, she also watched how her dad did a certain type of trick to trick her to sleep. The trick? Show Eda various types of glowing and shiny objects.

Glowing and shiny objects, just like this cylindrical lamp in her hand that has shapes of stars and circles on its exterior, and once a light ball is placed inside, it would illuminate the room with a soft glow of light.

With the help of Hawksley, she sat on the rocking chair located near Eda's crib while her arms wrapped around her sister to secure her place on her lap. The lamp had already a ball of light inside and now shining bright above the circular table in front of them. With Eda keeping her eyes steady at the twinkling little thing in front, immediately getting mesmerized the moment it opened, Lilith let out a heavy sigh.

Finally, she's calm.

Hawksley and their Dad’s cardinal did them a favor and perched above the chair's headrest and rocked the chair for the little ones to sleep. It made Eda startled for a second, breaking the eye contact from the lamp and looking immediately at Lilith. But just a smile from her big sister, the little one knew it's alright.

Their Dad's little trick really worked because Lilith, too, was on her limit for the night as she watches the stars slowly circled the room. Lilith let Eda lay all her weight on her chest after a while, getting herself comfy and snuggled in her warmth.

This is nice...

When the little gremlin yawned widely, her growing baby fang showed. With tired eyes, Lilith let out a small smile when finally, Eda closed her eyes. Her breathing turned steady, the spitfire is now sound asleep.

Too tired to put themselves to bed, the eldest decided to just spend the night at the rocking chair. There are no worries that they might fall while they're sound asleep for there are two strong familiars watching them closely, her mind and body is at ease as she trusted them their safety.

As the made-up stars engulf the room with a soft glow of golden light, as the gentle wind outside seems to whisper hushed lullabies...

"Night-night, sister."

The Clawthornes are now sleeping at last.

first- young Alador is the cutest. He looks happy and healthy and just won the bonesborough brawl, and he also has a ponytail!

second- Darius is booing Alador (which is adorable)

third- Odalia is a bitch but she looks strangely proud of alador? Makes me wonder if they're dating at this point.

LASTLY-- RAINE AND EDA IN THE BACKGROUND. Goofing off together and having fun while watching the brawl. I spent a couple minutes staring at them and realized that Eda has a carton of popcorn which she has been throwing at Raine. My heart I-

Some Amity headcanons because we’re both extra visible this week

She got the job at the library so young partially because she practically grew up there- as soon as she was school-aged Odalia would just drop her off and tell her to study. She did her best but got caught in the fiction section more often than not

She draws!! She has a whole sketchbook of Azura canary and another sketchbook that’s literally just drawings of Luz. It started out as a way to vent her crush feelings and then just turned into a shrine of Luz Appreciation when they were dating

When she found out where Manny was buried, she went to bring him flowers and thank him for Luz. Luz caught her at his grave, and the two of them spent the afternoon with him catching him up on their relationship

She fed all the stray cats in Gravesfield and eventually gained a sort of cult following of them

She always knew she wanted a cat palisman, but when she thought she was going to carve her own, she always imagined carving a black cat with white socks and naming it Mittens

(She adores Ghost though and can’t imagine having anyone else)

She loves doing hair and was always the one to do Emira’s braid. She was distraught when both Emira and Willow cut their hair and she had no one to practice on— she was seriously considering braiding Hunter’s noodle until Eda let her at her voluminous locks. This is the reason why Eda has Azura’s hairstyle

She has an insatiable sweet tooth. Breakfast in the Human Realm was a sort of horror show because she was forever eating the most tooth-rotting cereal combinations known to man. Everyone could barely look except Luz, who was fully cheering her on

Omg don’t forget about The Book of Life which also has the main character saving the day with music and the characters are all Latino/Latina!

Raine would absolutely adore that movie for the same reasons as Coco!

(Both movies are amazing in their own right but honestly Book of Life holds a special place in my heart for how it portrays it’s characters and tells its story!)

You're right Raine would love both movies.

If anything, Young Raine might relates more to Coco, when their biggest concern was how the people around them view music, their passion (and also wanting to live up to their family's expectation of them with the scholarship).

And then now as an adult Raine relates more to the Book of Life. Because of the previous things mentioned but there's being separated from their childhood lover. As well as seeing good in something that is villainized and seeing the flaws with what is expected of them.

In the first bullfight scene, Manolo didn't want to kill the bull, possibly inspired by Maria freeing those pigs as she is the only one proud of him for not killing the bull. Also, the whole Apology song.

Then you have Raine. Even after the break up, they still cared about Eda (Dana said they saw Eda's petrification and was horrified) despite her being seen as a criminal by everyone. Raine also realized how flawed the Coven system is. Again, inspired by Eda as up to that point she's the only one who held that view.

I also finished Black Lagoon Recently, so this prompt was very appropriate! How serendipitous. This character totes took heavy inspo from Eda.

So Called Nun

In Vash's opinion, there were only two things in this world that seemed to throw Nicholas D. Wolfwood off his game. Drinking too fast, and seeing those from his past. The latter was definitely true when one night Nicholas was definitely on edge.

"You good, Wolfwood? You've almost drunk that whole bottle and it's not even midnight yet." Vash asked, worried about his friend.

"Don't worry about it, Needle Noggin." Wolfwood grumbled before downing another shot of Jack, the smack of the whiskey causing him to slightly totter in his chair.

Suddenly, the clatter of the saloon doors slamming open caused the patrons to fall silent. Normally, someone slamming into the saloon in attempts to assert dominance you get a simple eye roll. The bar stayed silent at the venue of a young woman… in a nun's garb?

A pair of gaudy sunglasses sat atop her covered head, and her eyes were hazed over with the memories of intentional murder. To the trained nose, she reeked of death and decay, as if those she'd killed clung to her robes in a meager attempt to drag her to hell as they seeked retribution. That's how she looked to Wolfwood who nearly fell out of his chair at the sight of her.

To Vash however, she was truly a beautiful angel! A woman of the cloth who clearly sought out those who needed the grace of God! The shades were a wonderful accent to her eyes that were intensely full of passion!

The woman immediately stomped over to Wolfwood, kicking a chair out of the way to sit down on. She snatched Nicholas' bottle of Jack before plopping down on the chair, kicking her legs up into the table in front of her.

Her boots were anything but elegant. Once sleek combat boots were now cracked and ragged leather, one of which wasn't even tied.

"Nico, Nico, Nico, it's been so long!" She gave him a toast with the bottle before downing a good amount of the remaining portion.

"And what the fuck do you want, dear Sister?"

"Is that how you treat family after not coming home for nearly 6 years? Livio would be so upset." The woman shrugged. She glanced over to the red coated man who was making the most wide eyed love struck face at him. She swore she could see drool in the corner of his mouth.

"And what are you looking at, ya damn Needle Noggin? Take a fuckin picture." She scowled at him. Vash immediately turned his head away from her, looking at the ground.

"Hey, leave my buddy alone. He's basically harmless." Wolfwood rolled his eyes at her, "besides, he's into rough treatment." His fingers tapped Impatiently on the table.

"Ah, I see how it is." A sneaky sneer came over her face. She got up from the chair, standing over Vash, gently taking his chin to guide it to look up at her.

"I'm sorry, little puppy, what was your name again?" Her voice turned smoother.

"V-Vash the Stampede, Miss!" He tensed up at her hand moving to cup his face.

"How adorable. Your wanted posters don't do you justice, really." She brushed her thumb against the beauty mark on his cheek, "Maybe God's blessing can be upon you tonight, Puppy." She teased him.

Wolfwood on the other hand, had swatted the shot glass away so as not to break it in his hand. He flexed his hand to keep it from locking up.

"Did you have a reason you were here, Sis?" He tried to keep the growl out of his voice. It didn't work.

"Ah, yes. About that." Her voice gained an air of intensity as she abandoned teasing the stampede, and walked around to stand in front of Nicholas, "Chapel and Livio are headed home, but not after they terrorize the whole town, and kick everyone but our family out. I can't do anything about it, since I have some obligations that are a little more… binding." She glanced away, dodging her reason for not assisting,

"My point is, I can't help them, but I know you two can. Please make sure everyone is okay, and don't get yourself killed? They've been bugging me about getting you to come home anyways." She chuckled halfheartedly. Wolfwood took a deep breath, and sat forward in his chair.

"Alright. I'll make a beeline that way first thing in the morning. If you clean up early, you can always join us." He looked up to his sister.

"That's a nice thought, but I don't think that'll be possible, big brother." She shook her head. Her voice was softer than before, as if she was peeking out from behind the shield she'd put up.

"Ah, don't go all soft on me now, don't worry, big bro will handle everything!" He gave a hollow smile that would put Vash's to shame as he put his arm up and flexed.

"I'm sure you've got this. Well, I better head out, Nico-ni. I'll buy drinks next time." She smiled, with almost a bittersweet smile as she ruffled his hair. She snatched the bottle of Jack off of the table, and made her way out of the bar, "Consider this collateral!" She laughed maniacally.

"What a woman." Vash practically had little hearts floating around his head.

"Yeah, what an idiot." Wolfwood frowned, now boozeless, and his buzz gone. He leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling, processing his sister's words.

Livio. How long had it been?

He needed a cigarette.

Them’s the Breaks, Kid is the only Raeda thing in the show that is all comfort. Change my mind.

I’m in the middle of yet another Raeda brain rot at the moment and since TtBK is my comfort episode, I wanted to make this.

Let’s begin!

Eda’s Requiem - They reunite, share a beautiful duet and give us some of the best Raeda moments of the show, only for Raine to get captured at the end, which leads to we know what. And honestly, this episode is more painful now not just because of their history together by that point, but we also know what they’re gonna go through with the DOU.

Knockin’ On Hooty’s Door - Raeda breakup time! It breaks my heart in every way!

Follies at the CDP - I don’t think I even need to explain this one. And it’s 50x more painful after TtB.

O Titan Where Art Thou - Their talk on the crystal ball makes me cry a bit every time. Eda wants to keep her kids safe and Raine wants to say everything to her but has to keep their cover. But they also want to keep her safe which is just so sweet and just- AHHH! -incoherent gibberish-

Clouds on The Horizon - Raine worries for Eda almost the entire episode and I cannot blame them. This very easily could’ve been the last time they ever saw each other and that is something I really don’t wanna think about (I say, knowing I have a full fic chapter on that very subject).

King’s Tide - “Don’t- don’t tell me not to worry” “I promised a special kid I’d protect you”. Avi Roque’s delivery on both lines is like a stab straight to the heart. You can really tell that before Eda went up, Raine wanted to say absolutely everything but couldn’t. Holy Titan, it hits harder than I remember.

For The Future - Holy shit. That’s all I can really say about this. We may have gotten Raine’s glorious reaction to Harpy Eda as well as Eda’s “I just like to visit Raine” line, but neither of those will ever heal the pain brought to us by Raine being turned into a puppet and then getting possessed by Belos. I can feel the angst from the finale from here.

And after all that, there still remains one episode I have yet to talk about: Them’s the Breaks, Kid. Here, we get adorable young Raeda fluff, both of them instantly becoming besties and being awesome together while fighting a coven head, and ending it with the incredibly badass scene of Raine revealing that they weren’t brainwashed and declaring to keep Eda safe, while at the same time silently saying to us that they still are still deeply in love with her. If that isn’t an episode full of comfort, I don’t know what is!

You can try all you want, but you will never change my view on this.

The Web House

Full disclosure—I did not have this all typed out before today, but this won the poll, and I do nothing if not deliver.

*cracks knuckles*

So, this is kind of an inverse to my already well-established AU, The Wittebane Archives, over on AO3—Luz is the Archivist and going through the horrors, there’s an equal amount of deep character moments as well as incredibly chilling encounters, it’s great, it’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever written, please go check it out. You got tragic Lumity, tragic Huntlow, wholesome Veesha, Skara and Boscha content, and Belos being much more morally grey than you’d expect. Also, there’s some fucked-up monster content.

ANYWAYS!

I finally decided to do an AU where a young Jon ends up on the Boiling Isles, and I took a similar approach with the tone that I did with Wittebane Archives. In that story, while I still highlighted the horror of the world they live in, I decided to make it more manageable for the characters and give them chances to still find ways to feel human, reflecting the fact that TOH is a more gentle and optimistic show (and I much prefer happy endings to sad ones). So, with The Web House, I decided that the Isles in this world are the Isles we would’ve gotten if Dana had been allowed to do her original vision… which is to say, all of the scary and horrific parts are kicked up to their extent. No sugarcoating here, the demon realm is explicitly referred to as Hell.

Now, to the characters!

Jon: He is, of course, in the role of Luz. Rather than being a naive ray of sunshine from Connecticut, he’s a prickly, anxious, and socially awkward kid from Bournemouth who gets in trouble for his constant refrain of correcting the teacher, having no interest in the assignments, and his habit of reading during class. This eventually leads to him nearly getting sent to a camp for “troubled kids…” until his habit for wandering off and getting distracted by things that are out of the ordinary leads him to stumble in through a portal to the Boiling Isles. Once there, Jon is absolutely blown away by the wonder and horror of the world, and he finally finds something that he’s truly passionate about—though, time and time again, he’s told that he can’t do magic because he’s a human, and he gets very defensive about it. It takes him a while for his walls to come down.

Gerry: He’s Eda—a snarky, anti-establishment, laid-back criminal with a lot of trauma and a habit of unintentionally adopting kids. Instead of an Owl Beast curse, he has a Spider Beast curse, and is referred to as the “Web Witch” by the denizens of the Isles. Gerry was actually pretty happy pre-curse, mainly because his mother died before she could do a lot of real harm… but after getting cursed, everything came crashing down, culminating in Gerry accidentally blinding his father and running away to hide in the woods. Since then, he has a hard time really letting people in, and the fact that he’s a wanted criminal doesn’t help. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t regularly take in strays. (Also, the curse turns his hair black, but it’s naturally red. You’ll see why in a sec.)

Annabelle: She is a slightly more mature version of King—a spiderlike demon child that Gerry found and took in at a young age. Knowing full well that she’s adorable, she takes advantage of the fact that people think she’s sweet and naive to get what she wants, which leads to a lot of shenanigans in the first-season arc. As the story goes on, and she finally takes the push to learn more about her past, she starts learning how to be responsible and to be more honest with herself and others, though she never loses her talent for deception. She’s a curious and devious little kid.

Helen: She’s a Hooty equivalent. Just a sassy door being who helps keep the Web House in tip-top shape.

Agnes: She’s Lilith—Gerry’s older sister and the head of the Emperor’s Coven. Of course, Agnes being Agnes, she’s a lot less tightly wound than Lilith at first and is genuinely sweet and caring, just deeply misguided. She truly believes that Gerry joining the EC is the best option for him, and she’s always been tormented with guilt over cursing him. After leaving the coven, Agnes tries her hardest to make up for lost time, both with Gerry, Eric, and their great-aunt Gertrude, even if she really has no idea how to interact with people outside of being the polite and perfect role model. It’s a learning curve.

Basira: She takes the place of Willow, though her character development is less about being insecure and slowly gaining confidence and more about being stoic and apathetic and learning to express her emotions and fight for what she believes in. Basira has natural talent in both Beastkeeping and Plants, and while she initially thinks that switching to the Plant track would be better for her, she eventually decides to take both classes once it’s approved. She’s painfully logic-minded and has a lot of internal doubts about the coven system, though until she meets Jon and hears his casual breakdown of how valuing certain types of magic over others just doesn’t make sense, she doesn’t yet have the courage to voice it. On her end, Basira turns out to be just the friend that Jon needs—someone who believes in him, but isn’t afraid to tell him when he’s being an ass.

Georgie: She’s in Gus’s position, though instead of being a prodigy at Illusion magic, she’s a prodigy at Abominations magic… and is more than a little terrifying as a result. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a wonderful person, but her keen interest in both humans and in subsects of magic that are more than a little macabre can be a little off-putting to some, which is why Basira’s her only real friend at first. After their initial meeting, which consists of Georgie excitedly asking Jon for a blood sample and him being incredibly spooked by her amazement at meeting an actual human, the two end up getting along like a house on fire, and are basically enablers in each other’s chaos. Georgie’s family doesn’t have a lot of money or social standing in the Isles, so she works twice as hard in order to prove herself and get better opportunities. This leads to burnout. Frequently.

Melanie: She’s… okay, so, she’s Matt in that she’s a fellow member of Georgie’s human appreciation club and a new student at Hexside, though she and Georgie don’t really have a rivalry beyond friendly ribbing. However, she’s also Viney, in that she’s a member of the Detention track who helps kickstart multi-track studies. She and Jon don’t get along immediately, mostly due to the fact that he unintentionally ratted her out for studying both Oracle and Construction magic the first time they met, but the two form a begrudging alliance during a basilisk attack and later become actual friends. Melanie’s a sucker for drama and conflict, and she carries that with her—whether she’s in the Human Appreciation Society, the Flyer Derby team, or just hanging out with Georgie and the rest of the gang. She’s fun.

Martin: He’s Amity, in that he’s a depressed rich kid who’s severely isolated due to parental expectations. Due to his incredible talent at Illusions, a lot of kids end up coming to him when they need to cheat, though they never actually become friends with him due to everyone seeing him as a quiet weirdo who never had to work for anything. When Jon comes along, Martin is distrustful of anybody claiming to want to be his friend, and he doesn’t help things by accidentally demeaning Jon’s interest in magic—which, in Jon’s eyes, cements him as a rival. After a string of miscommunication and failed interactions, the two eventually reach a middle ground and become friends… which later leads into Martin developing a gigantic crush on Jon. Which is later reciprocated. Aside from the romantic drama, Martin learns to both become more open and to stand up for himself, becoming the kind yet bitchy individual we all know and love.

Tim & Danny: They’re Edric and Emira—Martin’s class-clown yet charming older brothers who love teasing their little brother and getting into general mischief. Tim’s the oldest, and he’s usually the one who shows a lot of actual worry towards Martin, though he’s still a very flashy individual and tends to do a lot of crazy things just for the hell of it. Danny, on the other hand, has some identity issues that stem from being a middle child who doesn’t quite know who he is outside of his family, and he tends to throw himself into something if he thinks it’ll make him stand out. They’re both illusionists, like Martin, and while Tim and Danny are biological brothers, all of them are adopted. (Also, Tim eventually starts taking Bard and Beastkeeping classes, while Danny starts taking Potions.)

Daisy: If my decision to make Basira Willow hasn’t tipped you off, Daisy is Hunter—the Golden Guard of the Emperor’s Coven, praised as a teen prodigy yet possesses no magical talent of her own. She’s loyal to the emperor and genuinely believes in everything she’s been taught, and she is absolutely horrible at expressing any emotion other than smugness or anger, believing fear and sentiment to be weaknesses and being deathly afraid of being perceived as anything other than strong. Daisy is a very vulnerable person underneath her hard exterior, and she can be incredibly soft with people she cares about… though, of course, she’s not given much opportunity to connect with anyone outside of the castle, or inside, for that matter. In the canon of TMA, Daisy is a truly fascinating character to me, and I knew that the only character she could feasibly be is Hunter—hey, person who did bad things for a cause they believed was just and had that illusion stripped from them, meet other person who did bad things for a cause they believed was just and had that illusion stripped from them. And they both love wolves. So, yeah, she’s a very traumatized child soldier who makes the gradual evolution into a protective big sister friend and a disaster lesbian.

Sasha: I had to make her Vee. I had to. Even if you take away the whole fact that she was NotThemed and how similar that is to the basilisks, the fact that she was almost made the Archivist makes her perfect for that role. Her general story is pretty much the same as in canon—she’s a basilisk who was created in a lab for the purpose of studying magic draining and ran away to the human realm, falling in love with it almost as soon as she arrived. Once in the human realm, Sasha develops a love for computers and manages to make friends with the people she meets at the camp (I’m not sure who they are yet, though I’m leaning towards making them Sam and Colin—Alice already has a role), and when she and Jon actually have a chance to meet, they almost immediately bond as siblings after the distrust and animosity is thrown out the window. Also, Sasha’s existence helps Jon finally fully connect with his grandmother, so… bonus!

Oliver: He’s Raine. As much as I love Doorkeay, I have a different role in mind for Micheal, and Oliver’s dynamic with Gerry as two gorgeous witchy goth men connected with The End is something that I’d love to see more of. Anyways, um… so, Oliver and Gerry’s story is pretty similar to canon—they met when they were in high school, were best friends from that point on, and eventually started dating, though they broke up due to Gerry being tight-lipped about the curse and Oliver eventually making the decision to join the Bard coven. Oliver didn’t start being a rebel leader right away, though, since he initially believed that the best way to fix things was by changing it from the inside, but after years of that not working, he finally caved and started the BATs. He’s very practiced at pretending that he’s just an unassuming workaholic, and he often claims stage fright in order to continue operating under the radar. Oliver’s a smart dude.

Trevor: He’s… well, he takes the position of Eberwolf as the Beastkeeping coven head, but he also acts as Darius for a lot of the story beats—mostly because he takes the role as Daisy’s actually decent paternal figure. Trevor comes off as an old grump who doesn’t like people or fun, and he’s seen many a Golden Guard die in his time as a head of a coven… so, when he sees Daisy be rebellious for the first time in her life, his wolf dad instincts kick in. Not quite sure where Julia fits in yet, but she’ll fit in. Somewhere.

Jane: Terra. She has to be Terra. Gross plant woman who pretends to be sweet but is actually psychotic. She’d definitely suggest turning children into mulch as an apt punishment for failing a small challenge.

Nikola: Same deal, she’s Adrian. She can’t be anyone else.

Peter: He’s in the position of Odalia—an antisocial yet jovial businessman who reeks of old money. He also deals in security and weaponry, though he primarily uses oracle magic instead of Abominations, and he’s very interested in studying the effects illusion magic has on the mind. Of course, he can’t actually practice illusion magic, so he has to turn to other avenues for research… such as adopting three gifted illusionists. Needless to say, Peter is not a good parent by any measure, and he kind of holds the fact that he adopted his sons over their heads so they don’t step out of line. Unfortunately, the kiddos don’t have an Alador equivalent (as far as I’ve decided), so the only person they can really go to outside of each other is Peter. Not a good environment, really. And it’s definitely complicated by the reason why their dad has all this standing and power, beyond just the family connections…

Elias/Jonah: So, he is in Belos’s place as the emperor who’s secretly a human witch hunter, but his motivations aren’t the same. Rather than planning on killing witches simply because he hates magic, his intention is to drain the magic from them and take it for himself—well, for humans, but mostly himself. Elias is also a lot more… shall we say, lax about interacting with other witches, which is why he has zero qualms with having an on-again, off-again relationship with Peter Lukas. And several other men throughout his time on the Isles. Yeah, Philip may be too deep in a Puritanical mindset to claw his way out of Narnia and admit that he’s not straight, but Jonah is a harlot and that’s a part of his character that stays constant. I’m not gonna go into his backstory, for spoiler reasons, but I will say that Gwendolyn is a Caleb equivalent, and Alice is her Evelyn. I’m riding on the Dyhard train and you can’t stop me.

Micheal (Distortion): And last but not least, I couldn’t make our boy Micheal anybody other than The Collector! I know that technically, he and Helen are kind of the same character, but she just doesn’t have the silly vibes that he does. All I can really say is that his story is… well, it matches up with in canon, except he’s more of a preteen than a kid. We know so little about Collie’s past outside of the events that led them to be trapped, and what we know about Micheal himself—pre-Distortion, of course—is equally as murky and unclear, so… yeah. He’s a funky neon star kid who originally manifests as a funky shadow kid.

Ok, I wanna talk about those diverging Owl House au's I thought of. One of them uses something from the finale as a big plot point, but I'll put that under a read more.

But yeah! Here we go!

So you guys know how it was mentioned in S2 that Titans Blood mixing with water can create temporary portals between realms? Well let's go back to King on his little island sometime before Eda shows up. Both of these au's start with tiny little King wandering out of the...temple? that he hatched in and that Jean-Luc is confined to.

He explores the island a bit, and ends up tripping and scraping his palm or knee, just some small minor injury that would produce a little bleeding. King ends up opening a portal, either by trying to wash the blood out of his fur in a pond or stream or something, or by falling into that body of water.

King Noceda au

First off is the one where he falls in. And I wanna start off by saying that this is a crack offshoot of my first idea, so we're going to pretend that there aren't a million different plot holes that would make this au garbage nonsense.

King slips into a body of water too deep for him to swim in, and with his little scrape his blood mixes with the water, and next thing he knows he's being pulled out of the water and into the Human Realm by a young (about six years old) Luz Noceda!

The Nocedas haven't moved to Gravesfield yet, the portal opened near their old home. Luz, who was exploring a wooded area near her home at the time, rushes a soaked, freaked out, and half drowned King home, where Camila, being a vet, is more than able to treat King, even if she's wary of the fact that this adorable but weird dog thing Luz brought home has a skull for a head.

At first Manny, Camila, and Luz think King is just a weird dog, but then he starts talking.

So King grows up raised by Camila and Manny with Luz in the Human Realm! I'm gonna say that they're able to get buy using disguises like the Plantars used in Amphibia, and pretend that that would be the only thing the Nocedas have to worry about regarding raising a Demon in the Human Realm.

Things with Manny unfortunately go the same as in cannon, and even though having a little brother for most of her life means Luz is less lonely, school is still sucky and the Principal still pressures Camila into sending Luz to the summer camp.

Luz still chases Owlbert through the portal, but with King following her, both winding up in the Boiling Isles, and after that this set-up makes following cannon closely kinda impossible since even with Vee coming through the portal she could only fake being one person.

And thats pretty much it for this one, just a funny crack au about improbable adoption regarding characters I like. If I had a nickel for every time i made one of those, I'd have at least two, mb three depending on if you count VT.

But anyway, onto the more thought out au. It will be under a cut like I said earlier so anyone who hasn't seen the finale yet doesn't get spoiled by the thing I'm incorporating into this version. But I will leave the name I'm currently using for it.

Half-siblings au

So in this one everything starts the same, but instead of King falling into the water that opens the portal, he just like, tries to clean the bit of blood out of his fur and accidently opens the portal. Luz, still out playing in the woods behind her home, sees the pond and that the reflection in the water doesn't actually match the woods. She gets excited, rightly thinking it's some cool magic thing like out of the books her Dad reads to her before bed.

She falls in on accident trying to get a better look, and pops up in the Demon Realm. Luz see's King immediately and reacts the same way she does in cannon.

Since she's an excitable six year old with a love of fantasy and an overactive imagination, Luz doesn't really panic at her suddenly being transported to a different world. She sees it as a fun adventure, and those always end happily!

Right?

So Luz spends a little time with King out in the woods. King quickly warms up to her and Luz thinks he's absolutely adorable (and really hopes that she can take him home with her once she finishes her adventure)

They play in the woods a bit, but Luz notices King's getting tired (and she's kinda tired as well) so she picks him up and asks which way his home is. King points in the general direction he came from, and Luz quickly finds the temple. King dozed off in her arms, and Luz was excited to see who or what lives in there!

Mb other creatures like her new little friend? His family? Oh! mb an exiled ruler, waiting for a chance to reclaim their throne! Or a cranky old sorcerer who's looking for an apprentice!

Her mind is racing with excitement as she steps foot in the temple.

Unfortunately, the only thing waiting in the temple is Jean-Luc. And Jean-Luc was made to protect King from anyone or anything; it doesn't matter that Luz is a little kid, she's in the temple and she's not a Titan, so she's a threat to be dealt with.

Papa Titan watches the guard he made to protect his child kill a six-year-old in horror from the Inbetween. She watched as this little human fell into the Boiling Isles, and immediately befriend his only living child, just to be killed for trying to help King get back home.

She won't let that stand. So, much like in cannon, he stops Luz from sinking down into the depths, and gives her a second chance at life.

Luz doesn't really understand what just happened. Jean-Luc got her from behind, so to Luz one minute she was walking into the big tower with her new little friend, and now she's wading through water? in a weird glowy place full of floating boxes and there's a big hairy person kneeling in front of her.

Luz's resurrection is a bit different from cannon. Bc its a few years earlier (and Belos hasn't embraced being a literal tumor yet), Papa Titan has a bit more juice left, so she doesn't finally fully pass on after bringing Luz back (I like him too much to not give myself an opportunity to use him at least one more time in this au). And instead of Luz temporarily being in Titan mode with all the powers that come with it, she's just permanently part Titan now, and if she can use magic to that extent she doesn't figure out how for a while.

As much as I love her cannon Titan form, since this au has Luz as permanently half Titan (or, well, i think it'd technically be one third Titan) she's gonna look more like some of these concepts.

((Small side note, I know why cannon went with the more witchy looking form, since Luz always wanted to be a witch, but look at these!! Look at my girl!!! She looks so cool!!))

So yeah, Luz comes to in the temple with King snuggled next to her, having slept through...everything that just happened. She just kinda figures that she was so tired that she fell asleep as soon as she sat down, and then she had a dream about one of the murals in the temple.

A month or two later, Eda shows up.

Luz has realized that this isn't like one of her dad's bedtime stories by this point, and she just really wants to take her little friend and go home to her parents. Eda, at first, thinks King and Luz are half siblings through a demon parent, and doesn't fully believe Luz when she claims she's actually a Human.

But Luz's knowledge of Human items and her being fluent in Spanish (a language which doesn't exist in the Demon Realm), among a few other things, quickly leads Eda to the conclusion that yes, this kid is from the Human Realm and something really really weird happened to her.

The first thing on Luz's mind, once she and King have been brought back to the Owl House and fed and cleaned up, is getting back to Camila and Manny. Unfortunately, this isn't an easy task.

Luz, being 6ish, doesn't really know where she lives. She remembers parts of her address, and that they live in America, but other than that and her last name, she's got nothing (idk if Noceda is a common last name, so let's just pretend that it's common enough in this world that it wouldn't be helpful in tracking down Luz's parents).

And it's not like Eda can just help her come up with a good story and then drop her off at the Gravesfield police station; Luz might not stand out in the Demon Realm, but in the Human Realm her new Titan traits could get her killed.

So Eda spends the next few years raising both Luz and King, while trying to find Luz's parents in the Human Realm with no success.

Until Luz is around fourteen, and a certain heartbroken veterinarian living alone in Gravesfield chases a thieving little owl into a shack in the woods.

Ok, that's it for now. I have a lot more thought out for the Half Siblings au (not sold on that name, suggestions are welcome), like how certain events go, but I think this post has gotten long enough.

Wait hang on i have a concept. Hunter going to lilith about his crush on willow.

Not for advice, mind you. All the adults in his life have this awfully nuanced view on romance and quite frankly they don't UNDERSTAND how fucking feral his hormones are going right now. Do grimwalkers even have hormones? He doesn't know but it sure feels like it!!!

And even steve, the youngest of the adults, is annoyingly cheesy about the whole thing, speaking as an experienced older brother. "Just be yourself"?? When the FUCK has that ever helped anyone????

Okay so. Lilith. She's 1) not too close to the situation, 2) far from likely to give him any sort of cheesy advice, and 3) GUARANTEED not to judge him for it (because there is no way in the nine circles of hell he is talking about it with gus, and while he loves luz and amity, their little fantasy romace brains mixed in with the fact that they're willow's best friends would almost certainly cloud their judgement, at least a little).

So it ends up with him and lilith at a table or smthn, hunter screaming about his stupid little teenage boy feelings and lilith sort of just humming and nodding along as she flips through a book. She's not there to help him in his inspiring coming of age story wherein he learns to be his best self and pursue his dreams in the form of a pretty girl. She's just there because she honestly thinks the poor kid might explode if he keeps it tucked away for any longer.

So he's sat opposite her and he's just like "TITAN. TITAN SHE'S SO COOL. And pretty. Did i mention she's pretty?? The prettiest. Hooooly fuck."

"Hm yes yes, eyes the colour of eucalyptus leaves and whatnot."

"RIGHT and like. Have i mentioned that i like her voice? Also so pretty. So cute."

"Ah yes, children are always just sooo adorable."

I didn't do anything awfully bad just little things but those still pissed off either a teacher or my parents

I skipped classes for example in 2nd grade!!!! Wtffff- and lied to a teacher so that she'd let me go to a friend's place after school instead of staying there yk until my parents picked me up (mom was FURIOUS)

Imma point check raedarila's development through kids birthdays XD Now that I have 'dates' XD

So Camila and Darius softly but surely clicked since there is no way Camila stays out and helps in all the ways she can. Hunter's birthday comes in february and he notices the 'weirdness' between Camila and Darius and worries that he is somehow messing things up since he is technically adopted by Darius but Camila is an often constant in his life. He uses his 'birthday boy wish or whatever Luz called it' to tell him already what is going on! He is mortified but he can't keep going not knowing. And they reassure him that NOTHING bad is going and actually... she and Darius kind of wanted to officially get together and maaaaybe Darius moving in? Hunter.exe stops working xD He IS happy though, or as much as he allows this 'selfishness'!

When Luz finds out, she doesn't know how to feel and worries Camila wants to just replace Manny and feels it would be selfish of her to not be immediately happy for her mom. But then she talks with Vee who is suprisingly more chill with Darius despite him coming from Demon Realm. He seems nice and mama looks so happy! And Luz sees that Darius is mostly nothing like Manny so her worries ease up a bit.

The process of moving is slow, because of Isles situation and general and they aren't done yet, when King's birthday in march comes. He and Collector squabbled over their 'ages' even though the count is less important for semi-immortal beings but they want inclusion so let them be xD They tug 8 and 9 between each other, rejecting 10 cause they wanted to celebrate their two-valued age xD King won his eldest place with bargaining Collector with Francois xD Now Collector is the main caretaker and King can spend weekends with him XD

While Hunter had his birthday celebration in Human Realm to include Vee since she didn't want to visit the Demon Realm just yet, King's birthday was at the Owl House and Vee finally stepping in. Belos was gone and everyone assured her they will look after her! Plus she wanted to try and start looking for other basilisks. King's birthday goes great and there is some Camila|Raine and Darius|Eda bonding and growing stronger. Raine is helping with Vee's intergration and searches, while Eda finds out about Hunter's Clawthorne roots xD

With Luz helping Isles, quickly may approaches and her birthday. Raedarila bonded plenty with their work and help in the Isles, Darius and Raine making sure no other new dictator takes place and also make sure people aren't bothering the young gods. With Collector's help in restoration and people's mostly not having any memories of their 'puppet' state, the relationship gets better and goes pretty smooth with a few hiccups here and there of course xD The kids that spent these months alone aren't as quick, but hey, Collector stopped the Draining Spell so their parents, aren't dead, that's a good thing xD

Raedarila tension grows cause both halves don't want to mess up each other's stable relationships, with... selective success xD Some of them can't stop flirting and some of them can't stop blushing! And some of them can't stop both xD

King and Collector eavesdropped on some conversations and honestly wanted to use King's birthday boy wish but King changed his mind, Hunter just wanted to know the truth, but King doesn't want to force anything out. So they decided to wait and watch this weird thing develop. Collector adores Nana(I will die on the hill that's how Collector immediately calls Camila!!!) and Darius is super fun and King likes to climb him and Camila brings so much tasty goods and is so warm, they both kinda wouldn't mind. Vee and Hunter's confusion grow, especially Hunter, he is slower on picking these things up and when tries to ask, Vee shushes him away. She doesn't know what to feel about this possible family growth, she likes Raine and Eda is really fun but she worries for the peace between Darius and Camila that she grew to treasure.

And Luz. Oh Luz KNOWS what's up and she WILL use her birthday girl's wish because Come ON you guys you are so on the nose and she can't help but feel weird eagerness to see this whatever between Eda and Camila! So she does!!

The jig is up! Raedarila comes clean and Luz's romantic heart bursts! This is still weird and messy and so much more people to actually account. But she wants to know them all better and grow closer!

By the time of Vee's birthday in july things do go supringly well(as well as they can be xD). So much that by the time of Collector's birthday in november they more or less successfully moved all in together and figured out the routine xD And the kid gets to celebrate his nine years with a family full of parents and siblings xD
