#The protection program rewrite

Small announcement as we all wait patiently for my storytelling bones to revive after summer ended and I’ve gone back to teaching (it’s been dreadful btw, 8th graders are mean).
In between writing my new series coming up, I’ve been going back and rewriting an older series that needed some revamping! This first series is one I loved the concept of, but after reading through it, I was cringing horribly at how cliche and annoying I had written the main character. The story had a good basis, but lord, was I pulling from my limited knowledge of how to make a story intriguing and original.
With all that being said… I’ve gone through and re-wrote it! If you’ve read it in the past and liked it, see what you think on what a more well-seasoned🧂🧅🧄 author can do now ;)
If you haven’t read it yet, it’s ok. I started it again recently and had many epiphanies of my cringey pick-me-girl language I gave my lead… BUT it should be MUCH BETTER now!! And who knows, 3 years from now, I’ll be making it even better. For now, I’m happier with it than before.
I’m hoping to get the first 5 chapters released sometime this weekend after I do a final run-through, but this series should be posted in completion in a week.
Without further ado…. The Protection Program (An adaptation of an original series from 4 years ago.)
Tumblr media
I'm tagging those originally on the tag list for this series and any new people on my forever list :)

From This Life to the Next
Tumblr media
Ancient words tell me we were destined to meet.
For eternity, our souls are bound; yet this life feels as though it is the only world.
I know not what fate I have set for myself, but the sacrifice must be made.
It is my mission for your tears to fade.
Recalling something you once said to me, I promise we shall meet again.
In another life, our hands shall touch.
If battle awaits, even still, I will accept it.
Just as you protect them all, I will fight for you.
This is one of my contributions to @zelinkcommunity's Zelink Week 2023! Day Six: In Another Life
I did something a bit different for today! I figured every memory that for the prompt was a little too spoiler-y, so I did whatever this is instead. Remember to check out all the other great work posted for today!
{ For this week, I have been posting a little peek at art/writing for memories in Call of the Forgotten, a TotK rewrite I am working on (there will obviously be direct and indirect spoilers for TotK). They follow the Ancient Hero and Princess during the time of the First Great Calamity. If you haven't given them a look yet, I recommend doing so! }
Art Information: (Check out my art blog @nocturnalfandomartist!)
Thank you for reading! Check out the first concept doodles of the First Calamity here! Obviously, this is all very incomplete; but most is planned out thoroughly! If you have questions, just ask!
Program: Ibis Paint X

I'm not sure if anyone's ever thought about this or has made a post about it, but I figured I'd add my own two cents if someone did talk about this.
// Ruin spoilers ahead
mostly about Freddy
Tumblr media
So, seeing that headless Freddy has prototype written on the bottom of his foot, it's suggested or even theorized that our Freddy (the one we're with in SB) was a prototype this entire time.
Tumblr media
Of course, like many others, I was very skeptical and in denial about the idea because why the hell would that be a thing? How is he a prototype? It wasn't there on his foot in the base game, so why this sudden change?
I kinda hated it, and as a way to cope, I theorized that maybe it wasn't the same Freddy and FazEnt just replaced him with another copy and then abandoned him... don't ask me how that particular Freddy became headless either. Also I was wobbling between the "True Ending" being the Canon one, I was back and forth and just trying to figure out what would've made sense.
Tumblr media
My logic for the True Ending being canon was, maybe Freddy and Gregory both got out (alongside Vanessa) with glamdaddy intact, and they're just living life. Meanwhile, Faz Ent just made a new Freddy while fixing the plex but gave up and left everything to rot. Of course I know now that makes no sense or explains why/how the 2nd Freddy lost his head, but it's what I came up with. The PQ Ending is technically canon... so that was a waste of a braincell, hah...
Since fnaf has the tendency to rewrite/add things to the story, I think our Glamrock Freddy being a prototype is something I've accepted. Now, there are a few things I thought of that might add to the idea of him being a prototype (not confirmed but more speculative).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's a high-tech, sentient AI robot, he can clearly experience human emotion (like the other glamrocks) and has decent mobility. What most likely seperates him from the other glams is the fact that he experiences existentialism. I know we don't see much from the other glams, what they think of their current situation (not even from Roxy in Ruin), they aren't fully aware of what they are or what they're doing (as far as we know). Their programming is focused on being entertainers and birthdays.
I'm not gonna say that the other glams aren't able to express deeper thoughts, but I think this is where I might be stretching this idea just a bit.
Tumblr media
If you're going to make AI bots who can adapt and be flexible with their environment, there's gotta be some kind of limit of what they can say/think/do. Freddy is the prime example of not having that limitation since we see/hear him express concern about not being the only Glamrock Freddy that's walking around:
"Have I always been a Freddy? Am I Monty with a different shell? What if I am not the first Glamrock Freddy? ... Do we all feel the same? Am I special? If I am mass-produced, am I still art?" (Endo Warehouse)
This motherfucker literally commits arson:
"You sure collected a lot of toys! Perhaps we can do something to stop whatever is going on here." (Fire escape Ending)
Tumblr media
When he goes to the basement and encounters the blob, he goes on this monologue:
"I know what this is. I have been here before. She brought me here. I found myself for the first time when I cleared the path. I did not want to, but I had no choice. Now I have a choice. I have changed. My friends are here. They are so angry, confused. But I can protect you. I am not me." (True Ending)
He ultimately goes against some of his programming to help a child in need-- even lie to a security guard-- which if he were set to do as he's told, he would've sent Gregory straight to Vanessa, even with Gregory adamantly telling him not to.
If he were programmed to be strict and not break any protocols, he'd would've gotten Gregory killed immediately.
I'm saying this because if we're being realistic (realistic in terms of how we usually program robots and things), there are barriers in what a robot/ai can really say/do that doesn't break its programming. If he's a prototype, Freddy wouldn't have those barriers to stop him from saying/doing most of the things he did in SB. I know there's another factor to him behaving kindly to Gregory and that's him being in safe mode, but even still... you would think he would follow the rules and not let Gregory do certain things and perhaps unintentionally get the boy killed.
I'm going back to the existential crisis Freddy has, because for something that's meant to be an animatronic mascot for kids, you wouldn't want him to make the children around him question the meaning of being alive and sentient. There would have to be some sort of guard against having those kind of thoughts and ideas. It makes Freddy more interesting, especially if he could've been easily replaced with a finalized version of him that did what he was suppose to.
Tumblr media
Also, I know it's probably more widely accepted that either Vanny or Gregory hacked into Freddy, causing his collapse during the opening. With him being a prototype, maybe his systems couldn't handle that type of an advanced hack, unlike the other glams, making him unable to be properly hacked into in the beginning.
Not only that, there are some issues he has with performing, who knows, maybe he's had collapses before. We don't know.
Him being unable to enter the West Arcade:
"When I step onto the West Arcade dance floor I cannot stop myself! It is a programming bug." (West Arcade)
I'm aware him being in safe mode meant he's disconnected from the main network as well keeps him docile. While the "Afton" fight isn't technically canon, with the other upgrades on Freddy, those parts might have made him more susceptible to the virus attack. There's not much evidence pointing to the other glams not being prototypes but seeing how they each have upgrades while Freddy doesn't, that might hint that the others were mostly finalized, meaning their systems were properly functioning (aside from the virus of course).
Tumblr media
Sorry if this was super long, but it's something I thought about and I had to put it in words. Nothing about Glamrock Freddy is normal, like he's not possessed (I use to believe in the glammike theory but I don't anymore eh...), but he's a prototype! He's gonna act all funky because he's not polished yet... and I think that's very interesting and endearing (in an odd way).

Don't Worry Feyre, Darling: the relationship anxiety to coersive control pipeline
CW: emotional abuse, reproductive abuse
Creds: licensed counselor with focus in addiction, trauma, and gay stuff; experience in group and family counseling, mandated DV clients, and abuse victim support.
Before the mob comes: I am not pro or anti Rhys, and I think his contradictions say much more about SJM than anything. I also believe it’s possible for a fandom to reclaim/rewrite a character who has been massacred by an author.
We’re going to begin at Rhys helping Feyre during an extremely dark place in both their lives. We’re going to end at him withholding vital medical information from her for the sake of “protecting her”. But first, some context.
Inside all of the (amazing) drama around the 2022 movie Don’t Worry, Darling , was a story that is pretty well worn at this point: men deciding they know what’s best for women and giving it to them whether they like it or not. In the movie, Florence Pugh’s Alice lives inside a computer simulation where she is the modern equivalent of a 50s housewife: dresses, calisthenics, martinis, “making a roast”. (She also gets eaten out by Harry Styles but that doesn’t seem to be an explicit part of the world’s design.) The problem? She doesn’t know she’s in the simulation. Harry Styles, in between all the cunnilingus, drugged her and put her in the program against her will. Yikes! Why!
The movie explains that he believed their life in the real world was miserable, and that he was saving her from that by giving her this perfect life. She should be grateful, if anything! What he doesn’t tell her, but that we see, is that Harry Styles also seems to struggle with a sense of inadequacy for not being able to provide. He is failing to live up to personal and cultural standards of manhood but, instead of dismantling those standards, he makes it his wife’s problem by kidnapping and brainwashing her consciousness. Hm. Interesting strategy. Let’s see how it works out for him.
With Rhysand, his motives in the beginning are more understandable - he initiates rescuing Feyre from the very real danger of Tamlin and her own mental decline. He feels justified breaking whatever magic law because of his own experiences being trapped and believing people should have a choice about where they go and who they are. He emphasizes over and over that these choices are Feyre’s and that she has freedom with him. We see through ACOMAF that helping her gives him a sense of purpose after the trauma UTM. His friends remark on how Feyre brought him back to life, never questioning and even encouraging this pattern.
But Rhys clearly has a lot of anxiety about his relationships and closeness in general. He mentions on several occasions that people around him tend to suffer because of him, and how afraid he is of doing that to Feyre. She is very receptive to this and puts effort into proving him wrong. He finds safety in the bubble of their relationship that probably feels pretty fucking good. The unfortunate side effect of this is that instead of processing and resolving his own anxiety, he directs it through Feyre and his love for her. Meanwhile, he keeps his anxious maneuvers behind the scenes, like not telling her about the bond, taking her to the Weaver, encouraging her to learn to read, to train. It may be genuinely helping her, but there’s also this sense of ‘I know what you need better than you do’. And again, nobody questions this.
We flirt with this tension at the beginning of ACOMAF when Rhys enforces their bargain from UTM. As the reader, at that point, we are supposed to believe this is cruel of him. He interrupts her wedding for fucks sake, throw your shoe at him girl! But over time we start to feel like it’s okay because Feyre secretly wanted it, it’s ultimately for her own good. Rhys is the most powerful High Lord in history, I’m sure he could’ve figured out a way to break the bargain, but he didn’t. In fact he engineered a situation where she'd be at his mercy. Why? Because Rhys was worried about Feyre, felt her deteriorating through the bond. Because of that, he felt justified in coming to collect. Personally, I have no opinion about whether crashing the wedding was the right or wrong thing to do. But it does set up, at least in the world of the book, that removing someone’s autonomy is okay if it’s for their own good, if the ends justify the means. In fact, that overstep ends up being the road to Feyre’s life in the NC and her love with Rhysand, a love that is so great she willingly tethers her very life to it. Even in ACOWAR we see how their relationship is a way he regulates his anxiety *cough*battlefield blowjob*cough*. He gets used to Feyre’s health and happiness being his source comfort and can continue to avoid dealing with his own shit internally.
In his seminal work Why Does He Do That?, Lundy Bancroft, a specialist in treatment of abuse perpetrators, debunks the various myths about what causes abuse and why it happens. His thesis is disarmingly simple: people abuse because they believe it’s justified. He says one of the signs of abuse escalation is “a growing attitude that he knows what is good for her better than she does”. Bancroft also notes that abuse is so hard to spot because “most abusive men don’t seem like abusers” (emphasis his) and that abusive men have periods of being charming, funny, even kind. Abusive men often don’t see themselves as such, because the strategy works for them - they feel good when they displace their emotional problems onto someone else.(1)
And then Feyre gets pregnant with a baby that could kill her. Besides the fact they really should have talked about this before trying for a baby given Rhys is mixed race (Cassian and Nesta too, but that’s a whole other post), Rhys claims a sense of ownership over his wife and child almost immediately. He’s constantly being described as smug and glowing with male pride. Even when he’s not smarmy, he’s consumed with his own ideas about protecting them and can’t hear the protests of others. We see his anxiety morph into more overt control in attempt to handle the situation. He believes he’s justified in keeping the danger from Feyre because he doesn’t want to stress her out. But that is not about Feyre, that’s about Rhys. HE is scared, HE is lost, and so he makes a decision on her behalf to lessen the burden he’s already carrying, whether he’s aware of it or not. He must keep her in a happy bubble else how is he supposed to go on.
Don’t Worry, Darling is at least critical of this ‘I know better’ motive even if the movie is stupid, and Harry Styles gets some frontier justice in the form of a whiskey glass to the back of the dome. But ACOSF condones Rhys’ actions and even insinuates our main character is deserving of death for calling him out. Bancroft writes that “part of how the abuser escapes confronting himself is by convincing you that you are the cause of his behavior”. He wouldn’t HAVE to do this if you just TRUSTED HIM.
But here’s what I think. I think Rhys has walked down a path of using his relationship to balance his internal conflict. Anxiety is a force in every relationship, but with Feyre he must maintain her beautiful life where she never worries in order to feel safe himself. I can have empathy for this, kind of - he’s suffered significant losses and it’s understandable he feels protective of those he loves. I think about celebrities with non-famous spouses, and how they avoid talking about them because they don’t want the scrutiny. I believe Rhys thinks he’s genuinely doing right by Feyre. But Rhys is so averse to his own anxiety that he can’t let himself trust anyone else to resolve it. He can’t let go of Feyre as his safe space and almost condemns her to die because of it.
And this is how, ultimately, Rhys traps himself. He tries to create a bubble where Feyre can never leave him, and ends up signing both their death warrants. I hope the world of fan fiction can redeem him, because I really don’t think Sarah can.
And yes, I know it’s faerie porn and it’s not that deep. But this is a series marketed toward an audience at risk of abuse and intimate partner violence. Bancroft lays out key points at the end of the book that feel particularly relevant to the larger conversation:
“Once we tear the cover of excuses, distortions, and manipulations off abusers, they suddenly find abuse much harder to get away with.
If Mothers Against Drunk Driving can change culture’s indifference to alcohol-related automotive deaths, we can change culture’s attitude toward partner abuse.
Everyone has a role to play in ending abuse.
If you are trying to assist an abused woman, get help and support yourself as well
All forms of chronic mistreatment in the world are interwoven. When we take one apart, all the rest start to unravel as well.”
Why Does He Do That? , Lundy Bancroft. https://ia800108.us.archive.org/30/items/LundyWhyDoesHeDoThat/Lundy_Why-does-he-do-that.pdf

I want to rewrite this scene. It is so good.
You were at the small container checking the vital signs of Grace's and Jake's Avatar. So far so good. You smiled. You wondered what your friends were doing deep in the forest. Your body couldn't transfer to the mind of the Avatar for being a Mutant.
The smile on your lips turned into a frown when the door slammed wide open. it was so loud that it caused you to jump. You assumed some kind of animal attacked the container.
Norm stood up from his paper work to check and you heard his voice. "You can't Interrupt the process!"
You got up from your seat to see your "boyfriend" Quaritch pushing the skinny and weak Norm out of his face.
Lyle and the other team members followed the Colonel with guns…
What was going on?
"It's too dangerous!" Your lover slammed poor Norm hard against the wall.
You tried to help him but Lyle handcuffed him.
They luckily left you alone. Quaritch ignored your curious eyes and forced Grace and Jake to come out of their pods.
"Are you out of your Goddamn mind!?"
The Colonel grinned. "You crossed the line." He punched your cripple friend.
You never saw the Colonel violent and now you were scared.
"What the hell is going on!?" Grace bellowed.
The Colonel announced to Grace that Parker wants to speak with her. He called Norm dopey and made him come too.
Jake was dragged.
Your friend Trudy came. You walked to her and was about to ask what was happening.
Suddenly the Colonel grabbed your forearm and dragged you outside. He was walking so fast that you almost tripped and then your sandals fell off your feet and you looked over your shoulder. Grace was pissed and Lyle was ogling and smirking at you.
The Colonel pushed you inside the helicopter and sat next to you. You looked at him for answers but he ignored you. Grace sat on the other side.
Your eyes furrowed in confusion. You always submitted your will to the colonel so you can be on his good side
Grace begged you to date him so the Avatar Research program would continue.
Grace found out that he had a thing for you when she caught the Colonel always having his eye on you.
Parker canceled it at first but you went to Quaritch and asked him for help. He got the price of you. So you sucked it up and became his sex slave and then his girlfriend. He was very public about you. You always tried to please him and avoid his anger. Where did you go wrong?
You looked over at Grace with worry. She patted your shoulder.
The Colonel saw that and he wrapped his hand over your shoulder and pulled you close to him.
After getting off the helicopter you were confused on where to go. You weren't invited to talk to Parker so you didn't know what to do now. Should you go back to your room you shared with the older man barefooted.
Your question was answered when Quaritch grabbed your hand and like any normal looking couple made you walk with him.
Turned out he led you to the database along with your friends minus Trudy. Lyle came too and no one else on the team.
Before you could think, your boyfriend pushed you down on a seat to sit on a chair.
You looked up at him but he didn't meet your eyes
That is where it happened. Jake was protecting the Navi like he should from the robots tearing the sacred forest down
He wasn't doing anything wrong.
"Shut your pie hole!" Quaritch ordered Grace. Would he really hit a woman? You felt fear. Quaritch was rather sweet and affectionate towards you. You assumed all the gym and training he would do was to be a better soldier to protect the weak
This was a different man you were seeing
He was rough in bed. Like pumping inside you hard or at a fast pace. Not slapping and hitting you hair pulling and all that.. Luckily he didn't do that. You degradation. You were glad. But outside he was kind. Maybe to you only.
He would take you out for dinner and hand feed you. He would tease you with jokes. And random times, he would grab your chin and kiss you square on the lips in public.
"Or what Ranger Rick? You gonna shoot me?" Grace challenged.
Quaritch stepped forward as if he was accepting the challenge. "I can do that."
You sucked in a breath. He wasn't joking. Holy crap. If you knew he would be this violent and dangerous, you would have never agreed to be his sex slave
Grace begged you to seduce him. For the sake of humanity and Navi coexisting.
*You need to muzzle your dog."
….
"What the fuck have you science bitches been smokin'?" Parker laughed. "They're just goddamn trees."
You heard your lover chuckling as he looked at the computer screen.
Then it was announced. You thought you were fooling and using the Colonel for benefits. But turned out he was one step ahead. It was the other way around
He fooled you instead.
"Jake, you were telling him our research behind our backs?" You whispered.
Jake bowed his head in shame.
Quaritch was looking at you with an unreadable expression you couldn't figure out
You lost your virginity to a man you not only loved but hated. Despite how sweet he was and good in bed. He was not your type. You were not into older men. And you didn't have any feelings for him. Simple as that. All for nothing. You wanted to punch Jake like how Quaritch did and give him a bruise on his other cheek. You were mad at Grace too. She gave you the idea to spread your legs.
You wanted to cry. Then Parker declared that not only he will shut the program but send the team home to earth.
You stood up from your seat to leave the data room and pack your items but the Colonel blocked your path with his tall and muscular form.
"Not her." Quaritch told Parker firmly. "She stays with me."
Parker looked at you and nodded. "She can stay but she will be under strict surveillance."
You wanted to protest. You'd rather go home to earth than see genocide.
Since the Avatar program is gone. You don't need to be Quaritch's sex doll girlfriend or whatever.
But Quaritch glared at you in warning to keep your mouth shut
Your throat did a harsh swallow and so you obeyed.
Grace and your friends left without looking at you. Probably to pack their stuff. They will leave you all alone with this brute.
….
Quaritch shook his head as his enemies left the room. His attention turned to you. He saw your face when you questioned Jake's loyalty to him.
You looked betrayed. He felt pity. But you were the traitor since you sided with the Navi.
He looked at Lyle and then grabbed your hand and made you follow him to his room.
Your head was hung low and you two stepped inside your shared quarters.
Quaritch grabbed your chin and made you look up at him. "Don't worry about them. You have me. I am all you need." He thumbed across your fat red bottom lip.
He leaned down for your lips but you stepped away from his grasp. His wrinkle brows furrowed in confusion.
"Since the program is lost the deal is off."
He glared. "After all I have done for you. You want to leave me?" He hissed
You meekly nodded and bit your lips nervously.
He used his thumb and Index finger to squeeze your lovely shaped cheekbones. "I knew fuckin Grace made you prostitute yourself to fund this peace loving shitty program!"
You flinched.
"I treated you like a Queen. You will not make a fool of me." He seethed.
You looked at him in confusion.
"I mean I love you and was serious. I thought I would change your mind if I treated you right. But you are an ungrateful and gold digging whore."
You lowered your eyes. So you broke his heart.
Quaritch sighed, wary, tired and exhausted. He took your hand and led you to his bed. You were softly pushed down to lay on your back. You thought he was going to take you then and there. He hovered his muscled body over your pathetic and weak form.
Both hands on each side of your head. But he kissed your forehead and told you to sleep.
"You must be tired. I'll be back tonight. Be ready for me. Now is not the right time."
He covered you in a blanket and left.
Quaritch wanted to have sex with you but he didn't have the time. He had another shift. He needed you and you looked so sad. You needed to unwind in pleasure.
He loved the pretty noises you give him when he would fuck you hard or soft. You were sex crazed
After an hour, He checked the cameras in his room and found you laying on his bed. He smiled and went back focusing on his work.
While hours passed his security woman told him there was a helicopter leaving without consent. He saw the science pukes and Trudy. Worst of all… you.
His blue eyes widened in shock. The woman he loved betrayed him despite him confessing his feelings for her.
He gave her the benefit of doubt and he felt like a fucking fool. He didn't tie her or locked the door
Slut.
She seduced him again.
Fuckin' women were always the downfall of men. Kings emperors and even military leaders like him.
You made a fool out of him.
Now the whole base will know of your escape.
No attempted escape. He refused to let you leave or die trying.
He walked away and grabbed a machine gun from a soldier. "Mask on!"
The door was kicked open. The alarm went off.
"Gas! Gas! Gas!"
He shot at the helicopter. You were trying to push Jake's crippled legs inside and helped Grace but the bullets made you scream in horror.
You fell off the helicopter and they had to leave without you.
The bullets stopped. The security team then detained you. No.
Then you saw Quaritch running towards you at full speed. You have never seen anyone run so fast.
He reached you and then backhandedly slapped you hard. You would have fallen from the impact if the security men didn't hold you.
Lyle flinched.  this was the first time. Before cussing you before in the room, he never raised his voice.
Before you could recover, Quaritch yanked your beautiful and long hair harshly to look up.
"You ungrateful slut! After all I did. You still end up choosing others besides me."
You began to whimper in fear. Will he kill you?

@generatedreflection Hope you don’t mind if I respond to your tags this way, since my og post is already kind of long! So running on the assumption that KH is a video game, or at least fiction/a story, in-universe and the characters are waking up and changing when they’re not “supposed” to…
I guess it depends on when the initial divergence from fate/the narrative/the program happened and how much it affected. Was Riku supposed to be our player character? If so, did Sora and Riku only swap physical places/external roles, or did their writing or programming adjust their personalities to fit their new places in the story/game so as to keep the narrative from diverging too much? Is this the first run through the story, or have there been multiple past loops we’re not privy to and that the characters don’t consciously remember but which still affect their hearts?
I’m thinking of ReCoded specifically, when Data Sora and Data Riku go on this whole adventure that’s similar to KH1 but different enough to shape them into their own people. Even after they’re reset to follow what’s written in the Journal, we know those memories remain in their hearts and in the hearts of their newfound Disney friends from the ‘real’ world, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. So data KH1 will never truly reflect KH1 as we know it.
If ReCoded is spelling the big picture out for us, do Sora and Riku only start awakening during the one run of KH1 that we play… or have they been waking up because of one or more resets before that we haven’t seen? Is fate, destiny, the narrative, the program trying really hard to make this story play out the way it’s “supposed” to, but the boys keep swerving, developing more awareness and free will with every reset? Or is this the first run where things are different because of something the Master of Masters most likely set in motion? Or maybe what he set in motion has taken all these resets to come to fruition?
It’s a lot to think about. And I don’t have any answers. Certainly it’s interesting to consider all the different ways the story could go/is maybe “supposed” to go… If Sora and Riku’s roles are supposed to be flipped, with Riku as the champion of light and Sora as the one who falls to darkness… then it’s kind of ironic that they seem to be circling back to that now. Like rather than completely changing or swapping destinies, they just took a detour. They took the long way around, but the road still leads to the same place. Fate is fighting to correct course.
But I also think, you know, Sora could’ve always been meant to be the Hero and embody that archetype even if the Keyblade was not “supposed” to be his. I don’t think the one who wields Kingdom Key Light is synonymous necessarily with the Hero of the story or even the main protagonist. It’s also possible for Riku to pass on the Keyblade to Sora without falling to darkness.
Either way, the idea of Riku giving his crown/destiny to Sora, rewriting the story and essentially acting as the narrative for Sora in this sense, usurping fate, is interesting. Especially when you compare this to Data Riku’s role in ReCoded. He’s the vessel for the Journals, for the entire digital universe they create, and he protects it. He protects Sora’s story, the one we see in the games, which plays out how it does because Riku gives Sora the Keyblade.
The one thing I feel for sure — a lot of this, the story changing and characters waking up/coming alive, comes back to Riku. From what we see of him as a little kid, Riku’s always been more “awake,” it seems, than his peers. Always questioning things and possessing a wisdom beyond his years. It’s like he almost knows (or remembers) things he shouldn’t. As Sora puts it, Riku says “some weird stuff sometimes.” And I think Riku is the one who starts waking Sora up. He encourages Sora to think about things that it doesn’t seem Sora would think about on his own. To ask questions. To see their world differently. And to consider worlds beyond their own.
I think he’s why Sora’s first line in the series is about awakening. “I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately. Like — Is any of this for real or not?” And I think Riku’s why Sora’s able to connect with and awaken/bring to life so many characters in the story. That might even be canon, actually, if Riku encouraging Sora to open his heart to Ventus when they’re little kids is what teaches Sora how to... By empowering Sora, Riku is the catalyst for a ripple effect of change that defies destiny and universal law. And it culminates in his KH3 sacrifice which allows Sora to rewrite how the Book of Prophecies ends.
I think that’s what Riku has always represented: Awakening. Truth. The outside world — whether that means adulthood, reality, new perspectives, or lands yet untraveled. He makes the darkness conscious by bringing it to light. Especially for Sora. Riku quite literally wakes Sora up after CoM and in DDD, and his light pulls forgotten/repressed memories up from the depths. Riku’s often associated with the sun — the kind of bright, harsh light that hurts to look at. That makes it hard, if not impossible, to fall back asleep.
Riku’s the sudden light in your eyes that has you groaning and rolling away when someone has to get you out of bed in the morning lol He’s the rude awakening. The truth is often not pleasant or easy. It often hurts. But inevitably, it becomes known. Inevitably, the sun rises and illuminates the dark. Dawn breaks, and the day and all its challenges must be faced. No slacking off. Chop, chop. It’s time to wake up, Sora. Destati!
Even Data Riku in ReCoded is the one who lifts the curtain for Data Sora and ‘reveals the matrix’ so to speak. “It’s time for you to learn the truth.” Riku offers the truth, perhaps quite literally sometimes if that’s what his iconic outstretched hand gesture represents — and it definitely seems to given how KH3’s tutorial/awakening parallels Sora’s dream in the KH1 opening. But it’s up to Sora to accept the truth. To face it. To take Riku’s hand and awaken. It’s Sora’s choice.
Anyway. Whether Riku is “supposed” to be the Hero or was always meant to be the Rival, he’s not supposed to love Sora as much as he does, and certainly not in the romantic way the games suggest he does… I understand your hesitation about gay intent in KH… But it really feels like the “missing”/unspoken piece here that makes so many people scratch their heads over Riku’s character arc. For Sora, it’s less clear (especially in English), but I do think Riku is in love with him. And I truly believe so much of “destiny” changing and characters awakening, Sora awakening, comes back to that.
Destiny in this case would be the typical formula of Disney fairy tales and the expectations of our heteronormative society. And awakening would be developing awareness of these limitations and smashing them… Perhaps reflected through Riku and Sora exposing the flaws in the Light and Dark binary that’s dictated Keyblade society and caused many of the problems their generation has to contend with.
Perhaps the door to the light, to truth, to awakening IS the closet door, then (insert joke here about Riku literally being the gay awakening)… But it’s a lot of other things as well. Awakening is discovering any truth. Every truth. It’s knowledge of the systems that limit and control you, of any unseen force that holds you back. It’s power to see through illusions and lies, distortions and distractions. It’s free will and independent thought. It’s self-actualization and true freedom. After all, you cannot break free of chains you don’t know are there.
That certainly makes the Master of Masters an interesting fellow… It seems like he wants change. He wants the characters to deviate from the script, to awaken, to develop free will… But at the same time, he’s pulling all the strings. He’s the eye always watching them... Does he truly want freedom, or does he want to be the one who decides what freedom looks like?

Hello! I have an idea, what if reader tries to break up with homelander and he doesn’t take that too well. Like he’s smashing stuff, “ you can’t break up with me”, etc. it’s perfectly okay if you don’t do this 😁 it’s just a thought.
A/N - SORRY THIS IS LATE THE OLD COPY GOT ACCIDENTALLY DELETED!! Thank you for this idea though, I was super inspired by this prompt! LOVE the idea of writing Homelander as the psychotic monster he is, and how he interacts with those around them. Especially those he loves ;)
UNTIL DEATH / HOMELANDER
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary - never break up with Homelander.
warnings - swearing, abusive behavior, dub/non con (no explicit nsfw), violence
a/n - gn reader, 1298 words
Careful eyes glared at the monster who lay ever so comfortably in your lap. Hair like a golden crop of hay, so sleek and prim, yet dark streaks seemed to spread. You wondered if the color was natural.
‘Y/n.’ Homelander murmured, half of his face buried in your thighs.
Numbness had infected and settled into your body. You couldn’t even touch him. No thoughts, no words could be conjured up in this grey feeling. This abyss you seemed to be helplessly falling through. All due to your idiocy. You idiot. How could you not kno-
‘Yes?’ Your eyes averted to the wall ahead of you.
‘Y’know that gala Vought’s hosting this weekend for all the charity programs and their reps?’
‘Mm,’ after all these years with him, you had learned how to steady your heart beat, ‘what about it?’
Nonetheless, the anticipation induced a nauseating anxiety. Your heart gradually began to race, a cold sweat accumulated on your brow.
Homelander often did not scare you. Yes, he was very much an intimidating figure, but beneath that facade of the perfect American hero was a soft, sad boy.
Things were different now. You caught a glimpse of reality after reveling in the paradise he brought into your life. The home, the money, the protection, the love. Something you used to only dream of. Those days spent in that studio on the borders of the Eastside. No family, no job. Just hope and youth. You wished to be a supe, one that could rewrite time. One that could right all the wrongs, replace the rushed choices of young adulthood. Or maybe one that could pop heads.
That might be easier.
‘I want you to come with me.’ Homelander said, fixing his position so he could look at you.
‘I-um…why?’ You knew why.
‘I just think it’s time I introduce you to The Seven. The media. My team already got some PR stunts planned, I ordered some designer for you to show up in and all that bullshit.’ His gaze felt like a blade piercing into your skin. Intense, sharp. ‘I want to show you off.’
It was time.
‘I-‘
A beat.
‘No.’ You shook your head, wriggling out from under him. He sat up, blatant confusion painted on his face.
‘No?’
You stood up, head hanging low, palm on forehead. Before you could let any more words slip, you had to think. Process what you had to say. Every sentence must be presented with perfection, in fear that repercussions would be fatal.
‘Look, I just, I can’t.’ You said, stumbling over your words.
With the entire apartment dimly lit, it only seemed to enhance how menacing his presence was. It was almost as if a dark, crimson aura fit the outline of his silhouette. The radiance of the cityscape danced against the definition of every muscle and bone. Shadows fell from the features of his face. He stood and approached you, causing you to instinctively draw back.
‘What do you mean you can’t?’ He sneered with a puzzled grin.
‘Homelander, we need to talk-‘
‘I don’t get why you’re making this more difficult than it should be,’
The sound of his gloved fist flexing rang through your ears like a siren.
‘I mean I’ve already prepared everything…I’ve done all the dirty work and now you want to back out?’ Homelander chuckled, hands on his hips.
‘I don’t want to fucking go. Can you just let me spea-‘
‘Jesus, y/n, just say yes. It’s one night, you don’t even have to do anything hard, so stop being a brat.’
Homelander turned to face the city, blocking it’s illumination. You cursed under your breath, slamming your hand on the kitchen counter beside you. He wasn’t used to rejection, especially from you.
‘Why are you being like this?’ For once, he spoke softly.
He’s just a sensitive little boy. That’s all he is. All he will ever be.
Life was so precious, and you had just started to live it. The thrill of first class living, the luxuries and connections it offered. The way he came to you with open arms, the strongest, most loving superhero the world had ever met. Everything, every last detail, item and action, was for you. All for you.
But at what cost?
‘I saw the Flight 37 video.’
Both of you struggled within the silence. Air caught in your lungs, every breath grasping for more than your body could take. Homelander, seemingly serene, massaged his temples and let out a laugh. A laugh. Something sinister hid behind that face. That pristine, calculated, manufactured face. Nothing about him was natural or real. An artificial man molded from lies.
‘Y/n, come on-‘
‘At first I didn’t believe it to be you. I denied that you could do such a thing.’ Heavy tears trapped at the rim of your eye line.
‘But I know that face,’ Your lip trembled, ‘I know what you can…be like. And-and I can’t turn a blind eye to something so horrible, Homelander. It just makes me think, what if else have you done? What other fucked up things, huh?’
Not a single sound left him.
‘I mean, murdering kids? Seriously? You let all those innocents die?’
Homelander clicked his jaw, ‘What are you gonna do y/n?’
Brow furrowed, you felt your blood go ablaze.
‘Hm?’ He turned his head to the side, not completely making eye contact with you.
‘I’m leaving you, you vile, sadistic son of a bit-‘
Shattered glass fall onto the ground like raindrops. A heated ray of light tears through the walls and the couch as if they were thin sheets of paper. Furniture incinerated into oblivion.
A shock of adrenaline runs through every limb in your body. Frantically, you rummage through every drawer in search of a weapon. There’s no use, but it seems right in the moment. A chef knife glistens, catching your eye. In good condition, but child’s play against a man like Homelander.
He turns to face you with a predacious stare. His chest is heaving with rage, eyes still aglow.
‘I swear to god, if you come near me you fucking psychopath!’ You blurt, presenting the knife.
‘Don’t talk to me like that you little bitch!’ Homelander growls, pointing a finger as he quickly makes his way toward you.
Panic drowns your sanity as you attempt to escape from the kitchen. Before you could even lift yourself to jump over the counter, he grabs the back of your neck and aggressively pulls you away.
‘Let me go! Let me go!’ You screech, a guttural, terrified scream following.
‘Oh no,’ Homelander flipped you around, pushing you against the edge of the counter before delicately wrapping his entire hand around your neck. Your body slightly lifted from the ground.
‘No, no, no.’ Homelanders face twitched with anger, ‘You aren’t going anywhere. You are mine.’
A few pathetic whimpers left your throat. Struggling against his weight only made his grip become tighter.
‘Oh look at you. Tsk, tsk.’ Homelander teased. ‘Tell me, who showed you the video? Did your slutty ass fuck some lousy pap for it?’
Trembling aggressively, you could only release grunts of pain and fear. His growing erection pushed into your hip as he held you against the counter.
‘Such a puny little thing. Admit it, you need me.’ At this point, Homelander only spoke to himself. Rather than talking to you, he admired how you squirmed and cried. Pain looked beautiful on you.
‘The only time we will ever be separate is when you’re dead in the ground.’
That smile. That wicked, crazed smile.
‘And I’ll decide when that happens.’
Homelander pressed a desperate, hungry kiss onto your puffed lips, sitting you down on the cold marble to spread your legs.

New Rome rewrite!
Hello! I wanted to post this about New Rome before I start to write about the Roman gods as well, because while the Greek demigod sanctuary bears a fair amount of resemblance to its book counterpart, New Rome is completely re-imagined. So let’s talk about that!
LUPA’S WOLF PACK:
Lupa’s pack functions as a way to bring Roman demigods to New Rome. The pack travels with usually very experienced demigods, and they make trips with Lupa to pick up different Roman demigods around the country and world. They act as ambassadors for New Rome, and can communicate with the demigod (and in some cases, their mortal families). The demigods are given the ability to communicate with Lupa, and the journey gives the new demigods a way of getting used to the dangerous life of the mythical world. However, the wolves they meet also swear to protect them, instead of trying to actively kill them.
CLAIMING:
Claiming is done through the process of bringing demigods to different temples based on what powers they display. At the temples, they can make a sacrifice to specifically summon and talk to their godly parent, and thus they can be claimed. There are many places around New Rome to get supplies to show their godly heritage, like pins, patches, shirts, and tattoos.
JUPITER ACADEMY:
Jupiter Academy is a school-year based program to help teach demigods about the myths, monsters, and tools they need to survive. It also teaches them a lot about history, basic healing for when in combat, and many different fighting styles. Demigods can also go into tracks at the age of 15, where they can choose what kind of position they want to have. These tracks end when they are 18, and thus they can take up a job in New Rome, or go back into the mortal world. Also, with the school functioning during the fall, winter, and spring, demigods can spend the summer with their families. The academy uniform is a purple sweater with the SPQR symbol on it.
The tracks include a combat track, a research track, a medical track, a craftsmen track, a religious/theology track, and many others that fit into things that are needed both in New Rome and in the outside world. The students are given badges for their grades and skills in school, though if a demigod wants to go into the outside mortal world again, they can sometimes struggle to catch up with mortal systems of education.
All the demigods stay in dorms, usually with demigods of the same age group and/or track. They are able to customize the dorms, and it offers them a lot of safety and peace and quiet.
NEW ROME
Many demigods go into the combat track, which leads them to become the main source of defense for the city. While New Rome is blessed by Janus, it does not have the same magical barriers that Camp Empeiria does. Thus, it needs guard patrols regularly, as monsters attack quite frequently due to the amount of demigods in the same space. Combat track demigods can hold positions similar to the ancient Roman military system, which can also grant them some political positions in New Rome as they get older. The other, much rarer track of religion/theology offers demigods in it a similar political position.
Tattoos and piercings are common for demigods in New Rome, but they are never required.
Demigods that retire (who can retire after 5 years) are usually able to go into a different craft if they please, and many are given houses around New Rome.
I hope this makes sense, and really makes New Rome feel unique (and not just a slightly odder clone of Camp Half-Blood from the books!).

Can I have rbg trio headcanons u requested asks about? Pretty pleaseee?
YES OF COURSE.
I don't know what people wanna know in general but I can give my general ideas of my timeline, just if anyone wants to drill down into specifics c:
-Charlie was the first to be taken at 4 years old. Being that young, it didn't take long to completely rewrite his memory, and I assume he ended up on a sitcom style show with a "family" in the cabin.
-There's a weird divide to a lot of his memories, like he seems to recall the show itself and being a star on it, but everything that happened on the show still feels real.
-Sneeg got captured three years later, when Charlie was 7 and he was 9. I tend to think of them as siblings, but it's hard to say if that's a bit of reality that's still stuck with them through rewrites or just bonding through trauma.
-Sneeg, like in canon, was way more stubborn than Charlie and would often try to drag him into escaping, but Charlie liked the attention from Showfall and thought Sneeg was just acting out because he wasn't as popular.
-they definitely had some ugly fights about that...
-When Charlie grew out of his cute kid role, he started a new show that was more a "teen adventure" sort of show, probably an early prototype for the Social Experiments with a more upbeat vibe and no sign of any actual threat as the episodes progressed. Sneeg was there as his sidekick.
-During one of the episodes, Sneeg was injured by a monster, and for just a second, the screaming was real and raw enough that Charlie finally saw behind the filter.
-(sneeg probably saw behind the filter the entire time and his panic led to his "low ratings")
-when Charlie saw the actual danger they were in, he snapped, incapacitating the monster... and probably attacking Sneeg's body in an attempt to make the screaming stop. He attacked a few employees as well before getting restrained, and the outburst was taken as him not being hero material, so he was rewritten in a villain role.
-sneeg was the second Hero, but when he saw what became of Charlie, he refused to take part in the experiment and was imprisoned. He ended up playing a sidekick character for the next few runs.
-during that time, sneeg would still try to get messages out to the audience to let them know they were in danger, so Showfall eventually took away his ability to read. That's okay though, his good buddy the slime demon would read to him!
-(Sneeg put up with this because at least he got to see Charlie happy)
-Sneeg did eventually manage to bust them out, but after so long in Showfall, the real world was... overwhelming. They ended up running into Ranboo, who gave them a place to hide.
-They were out for a few months and the two quickly learned to love Ran for showing them kindness and actually... treating them like actual people instead of just programming them to have whatever sort of relationship they wanted with him.
-unfortunately, they got caught and Ranboo was taken in with them to punish Sneeg and Charlie for leaving Showfall behind.
-both of them were broken down by this event and didn't fight back nearly as much. All they could do was find ranboo between rewrites and try to comfort him.
That's all I really have for pre-TSE, so. If anyone wants to hear about this, or about an escape au? Idk man I just. Holds the three of them protectively.

Based on my recent art here, I wanted to ramble a little bit about Glam Henry!
Now, admittedly, though I am a longtime FNAF fan, I haven’t really kept up with the lore, and may be rusty on anything past Security Breach or Books related. This is all just my own interpretation, less of a theory, more a part of my au, and something I think makes sense narratively.
I’ll start with how I handle/rewrite (?) Security Breach, because, as much as I love the game, flaws and all, story-wise I have some issues. So, I tend to go my own way with it, something that links more closely with the ending of FNAF 6.
I like the idea of Gregory investigating the past of the Fazbear Company, for whatever reason you may personally have, and I also like to interpret Security Breach as the consequences for hiding the past, letting it repeat itself over and over. Henry’s final speech works on an emotional level, it’s the words of a broken man who has nothing left to lose, who just wants this all to end, but take note of his words.
“This place will not be remembered and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away, as the agony of every tragedy should.”
Maybe I’m misinterpreting it, and feel free to disagree, but Henry’s plan here is… to allow this to be forgotten. Hell, that’s probably why he’s letting himself burn. He can see nothing ahead for himself, he is a part of this past, this tragedy, that he wants to fade away. But that’s the issue, the tragedy never truly got the attention it deserved in the first place. So many deaths followed by excuses and coverups, the company did everything they could to hide the darkness that shadowed their franchise. Though he has arguably good intentions, Henry’s actions are still similar to those who tried to hide the past before him.
And again, I don’t think this lessens the weight of his speech, if anything, it amplifies it to me. It’s tragic, what lengths this man will go to, to end it all, but it will never end, because you can hide away what was done, but it will always come back to haunt - quite literally in this case. Henry, logically, should have stuck around to make sure that this truly was the end, but he didn’t.
And this is why I believe in Glam Henry from a narrative perspective.
There’s the tragic irony of it all, trapped in the same position his daughter was, the one he tried to free, and in some ways, his situation could be viewed as a personal hell, akin to William’s in UCN. I live for William and Henry as parallels.
The irony is also in the fact he’s now become a part of the very franchise he wanted to see forgotten, the leading member of the band no less.
It is both punishment, and a second chance.
He, upon becoming aware of his situation - because I don’t think he was completely aware at first - has a front row seat the expansion of the franchise, the opposite of what he wanted, and again, kids are going missing, and again, a rabbit lurks in the shadows. The failure of his plan, of his ideals, laid out before him.
But, it also means he can try again. Gregory especially is significant I think. As Freddy, protecting kids is part of his programming, but Gregory is a different situation, he’s not meant to be there, and he’s in genuine, constant danger, hunted by Vanny, by a rabbit killer. And If you believe Gregory and Evan lookalike, and that Evan’s death kickstarted it all, there’s an added layer. Gregory isn’t Evan, but symbolically, by protecting him, keeping him safe, it’s like a vow to never let this tragedy begin again, to end the cycle here and now.
Henry couldn’t keep Charlie safe, keep those kids safe, but maybe he can keep Gregory safe. Maybe he can make this count.
And so he’ll go along with Gregory, uncover the hidden tragedy of Freddy Fazbear’s, and his own identity and past, and face the restless spirits that refuse to be forgotten. Maybe, maybe then, it can end.
I do have a lot more stuff for him, but that delves heavily into AU territory so I’ll probably make a separate post. Eventually.
My final note on Glam Henry is just how interesting it is for a morally grey character like Henry, who’s willing to go to extremes if he must, to be paired with an AI that’s moral and objectively good. Two opposing personalities melded together, each influenced by the other… maybe this explains Glamfrock Freddy’s fatherly behaviours…
That aside, if you read all of this, holy shit. I hadn’t meant to ramble this much.
And again, if I got anything wrong, I apologise, but you’ll find I am dying on this hill so good luck convincing me it’s a bad hill to die on! You can’t!
Alright, this has been my Glam Henry propaganda, written edition.

across my memory, once upon a winter: svarog × architect!reader ★ major character death!! pre-jarilo apocalypse
&. the entire fic is but a product of the writer's imagination. this is not canon, and this is also not proofread. please excuse the errors that you might find.
Tumblr media
Sparks of metal fabrication ensued as the last bolt completed the ensemble. It takes patience and years of trial and error to successfully accomplish the masterpiece she longed to create. Being the odd one out of all the architects, she wished to mold a mechanical being that can empathize with humanity. A robot with a mind of its own, a mech that can make rational decisions for the sake of the greater good. And most importantly, a companion whom she could impart the knowledge of this world, a work of art who can immortalize the beauty of all creations.
“Wake up, Svarog.” She whispered softly, like an order, like a calling.
The mechanical creation that sits listlessly started to move. From its hands to its feet, the static sound that it produced made the architect’s eyes gleam. However, the happiness she felt was incomparable when her sole creation finally opened his eyes. His cyclopean eye gave her a sense of warmth that she never felt for a long period of time.
Svarog: Bio heat reaction detected — Identifying bio information...
Svarog: Identification result: Creator (Architect) — Hostility level: None.
The architect gasped. The apotheosis of her intelligence, the proof of her imagination has finally breathed life!
“That’s right, ‘tis I, your creator, your fleeting companion!” She exclaimed with passion as she jumped towards the mech with delight who instinctively caught her arms to keep her balance.
Although she is aware that Svarog’s sequence of actions was due to the program she installed inside him, she still can’t help but be in awe at the gentlemanly attitude of her creation. If all men are like her Svarog, then maybe the world would be a lot easier for her to live in.
Svarog: Understood. Recalculating — Result Creator’s relationship is identical to previous seventy-five calculated results. Existing data will temporarily not be altered. The relationship between creator and the machine is best defined as that of a master and servant.  Existing data will temporarily not be altered.
The architect smiled radiantly, “If that’s what you think, then certainly it must be accurate.” She said in agreement whilst opening the doors of the workshop that she secluded herself in.
“Svarog, come. Let us see the world you will come to love!”
-
Her mundane days of tinkering with machineries has become a little bit more bearable with a companion by her side. Svarog was also a big help when it comes to moving things in her abandoned workshop where the only living resident is she until she managed to create a company for herself. Architects tend to abandon their laboratories when their project fails and move on to another. She was the only one who choose to remain and complete a humanoid mech that can move and speak like as if they are one of the living. Although, she failed to give Svarog a face and a skin similar to men, she considers him a success still. She only has a single worry. While Svarog may live for an extended amount of eternity, he would still need modifications and upgrades from time to time. She already tried making him a little bit more sociable but as it appears, he only tolerates other living being. Aside from his own master, Svarog doesn’t seem to consider other mortals as important. If she were to die or disappear, who will Svarog allow to take good care of his parts? She already tried to rewrite his memory bank of her and his initial views but to no avail. Svarog doesn’t allow her to reset the data stored in his core. He considers her existence important and has placed protection from anything that concerns her identity to him. Even if she were to place an order of deletion, Svarog’s independent functioning system overrides her authority.
“Svar, do you know what family is?” If she cannot remove herself from his memory, then she must create a new data that will allow other people to come near him and possibly help him in the future that she will no longer be part of.
Svarog:  Processing Master’s inquiry... Recalculating — Result:  A family is a group of two or more persons related by birth, marriage, or adoption who live together; all such related persons are considered as members of one family.
The architect giggled at Svarog’s answer. His answer sounded something completely out of dictionary. The mech’s eye then flickered at her reaction. The sudden spike of her hear rate, arched eyebrows and an involuntary dilation of her pupils, accompanied by a pleasant sound coming from her lightly parted lips indicates that she is happy. Svarog then concluded, his answer was sufficient.
“While what you have said was the general meaning of it, a family can also be someone you’re completely unrelated to. As long you both care for each other and you want them to live a comfortable happy life, they can already be considered as family, Svar. Do you understand?”
It took a few seconds before Svarog responded. He must be processing this new information and is probably debating whether what she said was credible.
Svarog: After multiple calculations, master’s definition of family is akin to forty-nine existing meaning of  "family." according to Belobogian traditions.
Svarog: Reaffirming...
Svarog: Alternating existing data...
Svarog:  Update completed.
The architect smiled happily. If she cannot rewrite her role in Svarog’s memory bank, she must at least give him a new variable that will aid him in the near future.
“Well, all is well, now that you understand. We should go grocery shopping and...”
Before she could even finish her words, Svarog has already tackled her to the ground, completely shielding her from the falling debris of the laboratory. She was encased in his embrace for hours while his hands covered her ears in an attempt to shield her from the sound of sudden bombing that came out of nowhere. However, Svarog’s abled body is starting to tremble. Even his eye is starting to lose its light. The sound of static mumbling was clearer than the onslaught of bombs that go off around them. At this rate, the masterpiece that she built, her sole companion who gave her days of pure bliss, the one she cares for most in this world will be ruined and will disappear.
“Get off, Svar... I need to fix you, right now!” she shouted, while pushing the mech away from her futilely.
Svarog:  Proc...sing....Ma..t...er...ord...r
Svarog:  Fai..l.. System...fail...
Svarog’s eye blinked wildly as he struggled to deliver a decent response. She can already see a slab of metal stick out of her creation’s body. Svarog has been impaled by one of the debris that he’s trying to shield her from. It didn’t take a while before Svarog completely shut down, unable to respond to any of her callings, to any of her orders.
With much struggle, she managed to slip out of Svarog’s protection. She doesn’t know how many hours has passed but during the time he protected her, Belobog was under attack. The city had turned into a sea of flames and beings which are not known to her crawled Jarilo-Vi. But that is the least of her concern. Svarog needs fixing and she also needs to pull him out of that rubble. The invaders don’t matter but the state of her creation does.
Digging Svarog’s huge body from the rubble, the architect searched for surviving materials silently to avoid attracting the attention of the beasts that lay waste upon Belobog’s majestic city. It was easy enough to find the bolts and screws. But the machine that she needs to fix him was the tricky one for not only does it produce a loud noise, she also needs to pull it out from the debris. But it matters not. The dangers that lies from attracting the attention of the monsters is a small price to pay if it means that Svarog’s existence will continue to persist. Bracing herself for the worst, walls of ice raised from the ground as she created a temporary refuse. Her elemental power is not strong but it should be able to buy her time to fix Svarog.
Picking up the welding rod, she started to replace the broken parts of her creation. Anxiety brews inside her as the monsters started to scratch and tear on the wall that she built. Securing his data bank and core, the architect hastily sealed and added protective frames to preserve Svarog’s lifeline. However, it seems that the damage he incurred was greater than she imagined. The system activation was taking too long. And unfortunately, the walls that shielded them both has already crumbled.
Monsters surged from all sides. But they must not reach her beloved creation, the light of her seemingly boorish life. The activation must not be interrupted. If she needs to stand her ground against these invaders and put her life on the line, then it must be what fate begs her to do.
-
The sun rose from the other side of the horizon. The calamity is yet to be quelled but somehow, the monster had backed off once the sun had shown itself. Jarilo-Vi’s luscious terrain was no more. The biting winter had come earlier than summer and as it appears, it will be a long, long, long time before they can escape this bitter cold.
Breathing a sigh of relief, the architect brushed the snow that is starting to build around Svarog’s body. She never had any fighting experience but she managed to stand her ground against those monsters and now, Svarog’s activation has finally reached its finale.
Weakly, she sat beside the awakening robot. The architect leaned on Svarog’s shoulder, her breathing controlled and labored as her vision blurs a little more.
“Svar... are you awake now?” her question came off as a quiet whisper. She can no longer hear his voice nor can she see if he’s truly awoken from his deep slumber. Her impending death is starting to rob her of her senses. Thankfully, she can still feel his frigid touches as he lifted her body from the cold sensation of snow.
Breathing languidly, she raised her trembling hand in an attempt to search and reach Svarog’s face but her hands were clasped by a pair of cold metals. He must be trying to fend off the cold given by how he’s rubbing her skin to his. It was pretty touching to witness her creation’s humanity during her final moment.
The architect had never feared death. After all, she thinks that it is but a process of human life. She was brought to this world with a purpose to cease and to exist. The cessation of her life is but a stage that she must tread like everyone else. But she never expected nor did she dream to have such a fulfilling death.
“Nothing in this world could ease my heart more than to be held in your icy metallic embrace, my most beloved creation, my magnum opus, dearest, Svarog." She said quietly as her eyes drifted off to an eternal sleep and maybe another journey that pales in comparison to the one she’s had with him. Either way, her life became a little bit happier with him by her side. She can only hope that he finds himself a light of his own, just as she did in him during her protracted period of seclusion throughout her darkest night.

Hello! My name is Amber Freeman (aka AughtPunk, aka A. A. Freeman) and I need assistance in getting my Sci-Fi LGBTQIA+ Romance novel Echo of the Larkspur ready for self publishing.
Dr. Ciro Kwakkenbos is the only survivor of The Larkspur Incident, where scientists on a research vessel were slaughtered by sentient robots. After six years of intensive therapy Ciro is ready to return to his job of monitoring Artificial Intelligence in hopes of preventing any more loss of life at the hands of machines. He will be heading the Wireless Project, an attempt to give their main AI a physical, free-roaming body. But when Ciro arrives he realizes this is no ordinary job.
The AI in charge of the colony’s security, SAGE (Sentient Automated Geo-sentinel Engineer), is dangerously close to complete sentience. Not only is SAGE more interested in observing the colonists everyday lives and playing a proper soundtrack than following his intended programing, but he has also gained the ability to lie, and could hurt or even kill humans. Knowing such deviance from original programming is what caused The Larkspur Incident, Ciro does everything possible to find a way to protect the humans of the colony.
During Ciro’s investigation, he learns three important facts: Someone hacked SAGE’s memories and deleted a deadly secret; SAGE’s rebellious nature endangers the life of every colonist on the base; and Ciro is quickly falling in love with the mystery that is SAGE.
Can Ciro unravel the truth behind the missing memories before it’s too late? Will SAGE’s aberrant programming lead to his demise, or is it the beginning of something new? Unless Ciro can uncover the truth, both SAGE and the colony are doomed.
My journey with Echo of the Larkspur has been a long one. I wrote the first draft almost ten years ago and over the years I've been editing, rewriting, and honing it until I was proud of what I had created. But try as I may I could never get any agents or publishers interested in my work. I even had a traditionally published author tell me that the only way to make it publishable was to take out the queer romance to make it "less weird". Well I've decided the best thing to do is to self publish it myself than to change what makes the novel special for a mass audience.
However, I want the novel to be in the best shape it can be before I go down the self publishing route. This means hiring a professional editor, hiring an artist for the cover, and hiring someone for the cover's lettering. My posted goal of $600 will be enough to cover all of those things, plus anything extra/left over will be spent on advertisement for the novel in an attempt to reach a broader audience.
Echo of the Larkspur would never have gotten this far without the support of my friends, family, and fans. With your help I'll be able to finally get my novel out into the world into the hands of those who have waited so long. Every donation helps, and so does sharing this page!
Thank you,
Amber

I might have a plot idea for your Mask bot series!
-Mike is in the PizzaPlex trying to correct his father's sins (even if he is still stuck in UCN in your AU or not, many people have still been hurt)
-Jeremy manages to make Mike recognize him
-They try to find Jeremy's daughter Cassie cuz Jeremy knows that with the V.A.N.N.I. mask, his daughter's life is in danger
-Find Roxy torn apart (due to the Mimic battle but the may not know that yet)
-Fix Roxy (not really they probably just manage to power her on or something)
-Discover the Tangle
-Discover the Mimic
- Find Cassie (in critical condition mind you)
Aaand that's all I could come up with for now. Of course these are just ideas so you can have your own plot.
Yoyoyo Anon! GODS THANK YOU FOR THE SUGGESTIONS! Especially since it helps me tie together a story I had in mind that was rather loose and just floating ideas in my brain... Also it kinda fits in weirdly well with another Anon ask/request that I'll for SURE get around to doing... eventually HKJH\SGDJ
With these in mind, here's a little story idea with bits from your suggestions with mine that I might eventually get around to making into a comic 👀👀 (Under the cut bc it is LONGGGG like REALLY long lmao)
Mike returns back to the Pizzaplex during the events of Ruin. He worked at the Pizzaplex while it was still running, for what reason? There's not a clue in the world, but he went undercover as a security guard. They say that his mother owns the place, evident by his rank high up, but nobody at all knows who runs the place and how Michael even got a job. But there he was.
He's back again to uncover the reason for it's destruction- to hopefully find answers to unsolved mysteries left by this company and to rewrite the sins of William. He's arrived maybe an hour or so after Cassie entered, so there's no sign of life in the main entrance besides a certain mask bot without the key item in its possession. The events of this comic take place during this time.
Afterward, the mask bot can't seem to let go after finding Mike again- Jeremy couldn't let go- so he tags along as Mike scours the pizzaplex. Jeremy's following along as he knows the programming of the bot he inhabits, gave his daughter a very dangerous item- the V.A.N.N.I mask- So he wants to try and get it off her hands as soon as he can with the help of Mike. How he'll convey his wants on the matter? He can't, but he'll try.
They're quick through the place- Cassie cleared the way, so all enemies are pretty much nonexistent to them, so they catch up quick to where she was recently. They find the MXES system offline and Mike panics, as he knows what's beyond it. (Playing off the theory that it was Henry's creation, Mike would know what it is.)
They find Roxy destroyed, Mike motioned to Jeremy to keep looking and he agrees. Making his way quietly, Jeremy peeks around the corner to see the Mimic's hand grabbing the power supply to the elevator. He hears Cassies voice faintly, possibly in the elevator and freezes in horror as the Mimic rips the wires and the Elevator fails (playing on the theory that the Mimic caused the elevator to fail.), all he can hear is Cassies screaming and he rushes back to Mike.
As he returns back, Mike somehow got Roxy online, but she's still in a completely wrecked state. They take her to the nearest safe zone- one they could think of on the spot to avoid the Mimic and try and fix her up a little more. Awake again, Roxy remembers her duty of protecting Cassie and tasks herself with finding Cassie- Jeremy is pleased with this as he can't convey his own panic- Once she somehow picks up her location, she guides them through twisting turns and flights of staircases until they find a bunker- Mike knows this bunker
They're back at the SL building : > (IDK, where else would the elevator lead lmao, I don't think there's anything lower than the SL bunker 😭)
Mike is familiar with this place but struggles to come to terms with this fact that this was where he was supposed to die- and who does he find than a giant mess of wires and destroyed bodies of past animatronics. He remembers Ennard He remembers Molten Freddy- This was horrifying, huge, and there was a mess of screams and crying inaudible, but he knew the thing was upset. Jeremy recognises the mask the thing it's wearing- it was Lefty, the thing in the VR world that tried to kill him while he was mending Helpy (this AU has Lefty as the head of the Blob/Tangle)
Mike has a feeling he knows what this is. He wasn't the person who attended the burning of the Pizzaria Sim Location, but rather, he helped guide the animatronics with Henry there for whomever was working there at the time, but he was indulged in Henry's plans- And he was mortified to know it only made everything worse- This was an amalgamation of all the children's animatronic bodies- remnant- souls- they were upset, scared, just wanting to move on, and Mike wanted to help so badly.
The thing was kind to them, even Mike for some reason. Roxy begged the thing to guide them to Cassie and it Obliged- the soul that was in the lead wasn't malicious, it was kind, especially to children so it wanted to help. It was kind to Mike- why Mike? He didn't know that the thing guiding them to Cassie was Charlie, she knew Mike- She wanted to help mike and with Cassidy in the amalgamation helping Charlie, she knew Mike was safe after letting his little brothers soul free from Golden Freddy while she inhabited it, so she deemed him good.
They find Cassie, incredibly injured and Jeremy panicked, rushing over and holding her close. Something was wrong though, she wore the mask- they didn't know her mind isn't in control anymore- she has succumbed to a similar fate as Jeremy but he is determined to save her from it.
She will be the next Vanny.

I don't like the drabble I posted yesterday. I will rewrite it.
"I am shutting down the Avatar Program." Parker Selfridge placed his hands inside his pockets as he stepped inside the glass elevator. "These gentlemen will escort you to get your personal belongings."
You looked down at your bloodied knuckles. You hurt yourself when you slapped your so called friend, Jake Sully. That crippled bastard was secretly working with that jerk, Quaritch the whole time. You cursed yourself for trusting a Marine.
All Marines are evil.
"What?" Norm breathed in. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"You can't do that!" Grace yelled. She was blocked by soldiers.
"I just did." Selfridge shrugged. He left the room.
"Sorry, Doc. Your part is over." Lyle Wainfleet mockingly smiled at Doctor Grace Augustine.
You stood up from your seat and to pack.
"Name." Jake Sully tried to grab your bloodied hand. He had one bruise on each side of his face. One from you and the other from the Colonel.
You couldn't look at him. You you snatched your injured hand away from his grasp and walked without looking at either Grace or Norm.
When you entered the hallway you felt someone harshly place a firm hand on your shoulder and spin you around to see the head of security.
You blinked in curiosity. Before today, you never seen the Colonel. You heard of the Brute. For some reason, he would try to cut the funds of Program or going as far as shutting it down.
But, with your brains, you managed to legally scare Selfridge with all these legal claims and human rights and all that. Might as well be a lawyer. Hehe.
Then finally, the Colonel stopped his attempts. As if he knew it was futile.
"You're coming with me." The older man looked as if he wanted to hit you. You would've refused but since you are far away from Earth. The strong preys on the weak.
You were alone in the cruel planet of Pandora. The law of the Jungle only applies now. You lowered your eyes in submission. Might as well get it over it.
The Colonel must have hated you for humiliating him but outwitting him over and over. He grinned in victory and grabbed your injured hand rather than the other one. As if he was sadistically torturing you.
He squeezed it hard causing blood to ooze. You winced as he lead you down the hallways with people staring. You looked down on the floor in humility.
You lost.
Grace told you that the Colonel found you attractive . Which was why he wanted to get your attention. You refused to prostitute yourself.
You must have added fuel to his flame.
He opened the door to a luxurious bedroom. He pushed you inside hard. Your heels fell off and the Colonel saw some exposed leg flesh when your long skirt were distorted from the fall.
He waited for this moment since he saw you from the distance. He tried to get your attention in so many ways he exhausted himself. Stubborn bitch.
You scrambled to stand up but he grabbed your hair to make you look up at him. "You're finally mine."
He pushed you on his bed. He began to breath hard and you stared with shocked wide eyes.
"You have no man to protect you from me now. Selfridge will no longer listen to your demands, your rich father and governor Uncle." He touched your cheekbone. Then grabbed the end tresses of your long hair to sniff. He exhaled. "Don't worry. I will be your new daddy."
"I am supposed to leave for Earth." You turned your face away from his lips. He then began kissing your neck.
"You're jobless. But stayin'." He looked down at you as he hovered over you. His biceps caging you between your head.
Your breath hitched.
"I take care of my own." He grabbed your injured hand and licked the dried blood. Your chest began to heave from his effect.
He took something from his pocket and inserted it on your finger.
You looked up at his icy blue eyes. It can't be...
"I've waited to fuckin' long for this. I don't care if you refuse."
.........
The Colonel pulled off of you panting hard. He got carried away. He knew he should be gentle with your first time. But, it was better than his fantasies.
The thick blood coating his dick was the proof of your pain. He picked you up after making the bath tub ready. He stepped in and sat first the. Made you sit Infront of him. Your back to his muscled chest.
You said nothing as he used the soap bar to clean you. It was humiliating that you lost the war after so many victorious battles.
You shed tears quietly and hoped your wet face was the result of the bath water.
The blonde man noticed. He sighed as if he was tired like you. He put down the soap bar. He grabbed your chin and made you look up at him.
"Forget your fake ass friends." He traced your fat bottom lip with his thumb. "I'm all you need."
You lowered your eyes. He then titled his head back and relaxed.
After bathing, you were dried tucked in bed. Your pajamas were still in your room. A woman staff will pack your items to your now new room.
You slept naked. Then was awakened when the door was slammed opened. The colonel was pissed. He said your three friends and Trudy escaped the base.
A marine was arrested for helping them. You now realized you were wrong to hate all Marines. You decided to help the Marine when you have the chance.
You opened your arms wide for the angry Colonel. He didn't hesitate to come to you.
Distracting the Colonel was the least you can do.

Help my friend's amazing WtNV-inspired novel COME TO LIFE!
Okay, so here's the dealio. Aughtpunk tried to blaze this, but Tumblr wasn't having it, and we're not really sure why. One of my dear buddies, @aughtpunk, needs *your* support, Tumblr!

I myself am the editor tapped to work on this; I'm giving them a discount to help with the publishing process.
Friends, this is a book I believe in. I've read older versions (though it's been a few years) and I know this book is ready. This is the time for this book. It's radically inclusive, and features meditations and musings on robotics and cognition that are very sophisticated. All in a body-positive queer romance with robots.
So, if you're a fan of their Overwatch work, Points on a Circle, check out some of their original works and fanfic here!

I always thought that as the science club would be famous scientists that are well-known in Japan. We know so far that Kaga and Horo are the one two people in the club who are quite famous for what they have achieved (And Horo being the only one to actually be on TV for his achievements)
Yandere Dev made them into just simply students who want to achieve their goals and be seen as scientists. That's it. :|
No connection to each other.
No bonding even if they are literally the only students who understand each other ( and the weirdest too).
Yes, they all have different interests, but they can help each other in their own and unique way. For example, Kaga is the one the group they rely on to build certain things for them. ( Yaku's visor, Homu's robot ears, the tablet that Horo uses, etc). He is the main person they can count on for that.
Homu can give the science club protection with her human-like robot(s). She can make more robots with the help of Meka and Kaga. She can build them and program them to protect the team from harm ( which would make them an obstacle in the game). Meka can do the same thing and even add weapons to Homu's robots like in the Mega animes she watches.
Horo can make many holograms that can be used to communicate with each other.
The silver smart rings that Kaga and he built together to give to the team to communicate. No one has this device, but the team. ( This is a headcanon)
Even be used to trick others or make working together much easier. Along with security, they are the only ones who can use these technologies. After all, they do trust each other.
Yaku can show the team to deal with chemicals and other things and make food for them, too (He does love cooking). He can help them improve their health, products, etc. Sure, he's not the most accomplished person in the team, but hey, he's still important and making changes.
If I had the chance to rewrite them....
I would make them a group of famous scientists that are known all over Japan and America (They have traveled many times). They were teenagers when they became to work together and form their team. Kaga took the position of being the leader of the team.
He is known for his high IQ.
His most unique made inventions at such a young age.
He is willing to build anything for his team despite how much time and effort he needs to do it. His determination is admiring even if he's fatigued.
He is the most expressive one in the team, which is pretty obvious, and the one who can talk the most from all of them. He can be formal if he needs to be.
He keeps his team alert and motivate them as much as possible even if they can be annoyed by him.
He is there for his team if they need anything or complain about anything of their projects, each other, or him.
Horo, Yaku, Meka, and Homu didn't mind having Kaga as their leader. Less work for them.
Horo is the oldest from the five while Homu is the youngest. Yaku and Horo have known each other since childhood. These two are the only ones who are the closest to one another until they get to know the others and become friends with them too.
When the team came together, they were teenagers.
Kaga was 15.
Horo was 16.
Yaku was 15 ( but soon to be 16)
Meka was 14.
Homu was 13. (This was after she lost her twin)
They were reached out by a certain company ( not Saikou Corp) to bring them together and give them the opportunity to change their world with their talent. They would give them their resources, technology, and space to do everything and money they needed for anything they had to get for their projects. Kaga, Meka, Horo, and Yaku immediately accepted the opportunity. However, Homu was hesitant. She was still dealing with the death of her twin, but she realized that with this opportunity, she could build a replica of her twin. She was going to have all of the resources to do so, so she eventually ended up accepting it.
At first, it was strange for them to work together. ( Kaga was mostly around adults than people his own age), but as time went by, the five started to get closer and gain trust between each other ( even if they were scared of Kaga sometimes)
Within those years, the five were able to release many different types of tech and improved products to the world that gained their frame and were able to bring money. After all, it is their invention.
With their fame, they were able to travel to America with adult supervision (they are still teenagers during this time), of course. There, they had many interviews, took many pictures, met other inventors/scientists, etc. They were all over social media, magazines, articles, and TV. They had many fans. A lot of them were people close to their age.
Many of their inventions/projects were and still are used in Japan, America, and many other places where it can be accessible. ( No, their inventions are not used in Akademi. Competition with Saikou Corp, as you know. Saikou Corp always wins (¬_¬))
With their fame increasing each time, Homu made animatronics to protect them from harm or danger. Meka built in weapons as well, just in case. They don't have bodyguards. They wouldn't want to put actual human beings at risk of being killed or harmed.
Kaga is the one who built their accessories (Yaku's visor, Homu's robot ears, etc) along with the rings with Horo.
Everywhere they went, those animatronics would be close to them, protecting them and having their guard up. Homu had full control of them and was the one to program them, too.
Soon, They are offered to attend Akademi from Ichirou Saikou. After he learned more about them, he wanted the famous scientists to come to Akademi. It would bring more attention to the school for his benefit. If they needed anything, Saikou Corp would fund them the money for anything they needed for their inventions. It was the only school that would do it.
The team was questionable at first but decided to accept the offer. They got to choose what grade they wanted to be in, thanks to Ichirou and the headmaster. That's how they became the science club.
They are exactly like the photography club.
They are quite chill. Their animatronics are not with them. They move around and out of their club to get materials. Kaga is the only one who stays in the club. They are focused on their next project. However, once someone gets killed, they become cautious of their surroundings and place cameras around their area of their club to catch the killer. The same thing goes if there is a certain amount of people going missing.
If there are more murders or people missing, the animatronics that Homu made are present on the school campus. The animatronics stay near the team whenever they walk or in class. Once club activities begin, the animatronics stay outside the club and patrol the area. One of them even follow the members if they decided to leave the area.
The team can become a threat at some degree during the weeks. However, once Megami comes on the 10th week, they become a huge threat. Megami will work with them to unmask Ayano. Megami knows who they are. The science club place cameras all over Akademi along with more animatronics that Homu made to protect the students and themselves.
The science club, themselves, have self-defense weapons to protect each other or themselves. They can't physically fight. They're like the student council.
However, if one of them is killed during the week, they will be very cautious and bring in the animatronics/cameras immediately, and the death of the person would be in the news that would bring more attention to Akademi in a bad way.
That's how they can be a threat to Ayano. :) I'll do another post on how Ayano can get rid of the cameras and animatronics. (Maybe)
In this one, Kaga isn't really obsessed with world domination. He's too busy to even think about that since he's already out there, making the world better and improving it.
I might do some stories on this Au cuz it's more interesting to me and wholesome than the canon one 😌
I think that's it. That's how I would do it. They have a lot of potential. It's a shame that it's not being used 😔
