Oblivion Theory / Pile of Snow Theory by WandyDoodles / @wandydoodles

Oblivion Theory link
It's a good read! Go read it! It's way faster than 190 pages looks like because the font is big and plenty of pictures too. Almost like reading a comic book level of difficulty to focus, I like it a lot. My specific thoughts below the read more
I think this is potentially dead on for at least the symbolism that's going on, though it's still probable to me that there is also an "in-universe" angel. I'm also not sure if I agree with the assumption that the red soul we pilot is special beyond it being a human soul either? Like, there's no reason (YET) to believe that a different human couldn't also seal fountains just from their soul being able to float around in dark worlds like ours does. (like the Susie jail escape, Ferris wheel, literally every battle, etc.) Like, they could just be a magician like those dudes who did a big magic barrier in Deltarune.
On the ending thoughts: I was going to add that Sans' could be talking about Flowey, but...No. Flowey hasn't revealed himself to anyone except us in this timeline. How the hell would he know our type if not from something that happens in DR?! I never noticed it before! Flowey does explain other dialog, like "our reports showing timelines jumping around" and what not even if you did Geno first run/on a true reset. It's why I never thought about it before.
The proposal for The Vessel being The Knight seems very, hard to believe at first. I'm still not settled on it myself, but: The Vessel could be mistaken for Kris if they throw on a hood maybe? "There's that creepy Kris going to the library. We're used to our 1 human in town!" With a lot of characters showing a knowledge on what's going to happen (like Jevil) they might just know when to go do things already without raising suspicion. Only appearing when Kris wouldn't, and/or slipping by without people seeing. It's interesting to me that they never bothered addressing that tbh. I wonder if it's just something they couldn't explain well so rather than bringing it up, they're just hoping we explain it ourselves/wait for new chapter dialog to confirm this.
I am 100% sold on the knight not wanting to end the world though, I've been calling it the "Conspiracy Theory Theory" where the Bad Guy™ is not the Bad Guy™ but rather someone trying to make us Stronger so we can help fight The Really Bad Guy™ (like Kill La Kill kind of[the 10th anniversary was recent, so it's just the only example I can think of atm.]) It gets that ridiculous name because I believe MANY characters are in on it, including Kris themselves, Ralsei, The Red Soul, The Knight, Goner Maker Sequence Voices 1 & 2, Mystery Man, Geoff, Gaster, etc. Pretty much everyone who could be except Susie.
The save file analysis is wrong I feel? When Flowey takes over the save file, that is a veteran with literal near-godlike powers who knows how to manipulate saves. He hasn't had control for 9999:99 yet, despite what the timer shows. That info could be missing for Kris because we weren't there when it was made, what we use to see save file information shows what's missing because it literally doesn't know how long Kris has had that save nor where it was made. We get to see the name because we're in their body though. Like we see empty save files, and they're just empty. After a true reset? It's just empty, just like erasing a file in Deltarune. Kris having ANY information means something more than "just to establish you as a separate entity even harder than Undertale." Especially if the cut intro of Susie trying to wake us up is still hinting towards something like a timeloop being canon. (instead of being cut because it's not longer true)
Save file part 2 break in paragraph for easier reading: It might also be because Kris doesn't have the soul they made that save with anymore, if you're a Kris Is Toy Knife Kid Equivalent Truther like me.
It also falls for the trap of thinking what Chara says at the end of genocide is strictly a metanarrative statement, not something Chara believes will be possible. In a game where characters consistently say things that apply both in and out of universe, which I've never liked. Like Flowey after restarting the game after in TPE talking to both: 1.) us in the meta, but believes he is giving his parting words to 2.) Chara IN universe.
But like everything with depth, people are gonna make mistakes. Especially mistakes they don't think are mistakes and are much simpler answers without constant "catches" and clarifications. It's kind of like explaining King Crimson to people, where I'm the only person to do it right. (not a serious statement)
They also point to Mettaton's nebulous "Ratings" when mentioning the amount of monsters in the underground, instead of the echo flower where it's stated there's literally thousands of monsters??? This is something I see people do all the time?

The vast difference of how Sora gains Oathkeeper vs Oblivion is pretty telling of Riku's feelings towards Sora during KH1. The lucky charm given to Sora as a gift vs him finding Oblivion abandoned after Riku is lost to the darkness. Nomura: Its (Oblivion's) development name was the "Riku Keyblade." In early stages we planned to have Riku give you a keychain, just like the lucky charm, which is why the keychain is a different colored version of Sora's necklace.

How Ludinus used Delilah Briarwood to further his agenda
Do you know what would be interesting to me? If it was revealed that Ludinus “Incapable Of Minding His Own Damn Business” Da’leth was also connected to the Briarwoods, and by extension, Vecna.
Delilah was a member of the Cerberus Assembly, and during her time she had been dabbling in necromancy; something considered VERY illegal in the Empire. She worked alongside some of the most ruthless and cunning individuals on the face of Exandria, and yet she somehow managed to get away with her necromantic experimentation? I don’t buy it. Even if she had the rest of the Assembly fooled, someone like Ludinus would have noticed what was going on. Here’s the thing, he had nothing to gain from exploiting that knowledge, so he wouldn’t have been interested in revealing it. But you know when he did decide to use that information?
After she had lost her husband and fallen into debt with The Whispered One.
The thing is, it’s not like Vecna whispered “find my lab 50km east of fuckaround and 20km south of findout.” Vecna is vague and secretive, and Delilah would have needed to earn his information. Matt confirmed that she had gone searching for a while (in other words, Delilah would have needed help). So, where did she find the information? The people with the knowledge, who would have had any idea of the location of the Whispered One’s ancient sanctum?
Perhaps an elf older, and more powerful than all the rest, with an interest in secrets and a deep understanding of Exandrian history?
So, let’s run with the idea that Ludinus told Delilah where the mysterious laboratory was. What happens after she resurrects Sylas?
The Cerberus Assembly and Cobalt Soul discover she was a necromancer, brand her a traitor, expel her from the assembly, and begin a manhunt for her and her husband. This forces the Briarwoods to retreat to Port Damali, and then to Tal’Dorei in hopes of releasing Vecna. The events of the narrative then happen as they would normally (with the fall of the de Rolo’s and VM liberating Whitestone years later).
But the question remains – why would Ludinus do that? If he is as knowledgeable about Exandrian history, he would have surely known that the Whispered One planned to become a god. Why would he forgo his hatred of the pantheon to plant the seeds of another ascension?
Let’s think about the implications of this. Ludinus wants to show the world that his way is the best (and only) way. He wants to create loyal followers who hate the gods, and what would make you hate divinity more than a mortal ascending and using their newfound power to take over the world? To target Vasselheim of all places? To repeat (beat by beat) the events that led to the Calamity?
And perhaps it was a test. Ludinus knows that the gods sealed themselves behind the divine gate, but how do you get something that large on our side to the other? Vox Machina managed to seal Vecna away, but what if doing so weakened the gate, or revealed its potential weaknesses for Ludinus to exploit?
Come to think of it, this may explain why Ludinus’ own damn annex got away with being involved in the Angel of Irons cult until the M9 went straight to the king with that information. Because by destroying the shackles, the Chained Oblivion would be powerful enough to start exploiting weaknesses in the divine gate.
Anyway, I think it’d be cool if Ludinus had somehow manipulated a necromancer, vampire, and lich-turned-god into playing a part in his long-con. It wouldn’t be totally out of the realm of possibility after all.

Hero of Kvatch: Martin, I want to name our future child Magnus.
Martin: When did you pick out our kid's name?
Hero of Kvatch: Remember that day we made it to Weynon Priory without dying?
Martin: Yeah?
Hero of Kvatch: A non-creepy amount of time after that.

The funny thing is, that once you know a bit more about the previous Elder Scrolls games, you can actually explain a few things that don’t make sense initially.
Let’s take an example.
Thanks to the Class Backgrounds in Daggerfall, you find out that it wasn’t just Jaegar Tharn that had been plotting the Emperor’s Downfall-- but most of the Imperial Battlemages, who were envious of Tharn’s success.
And in Oblivion, who do you face, but Warrior Mages
... Guess this means that most of the Imperial Legion Battlemages were actually Mythic Dawn.
This would go a long way to explain why the what should be the most Secure and Protected (by both magic, arms and firepower, contracts that even the Dark Brotherhood respects, and even Narrative Causality given how Uriel has manipulated several Prophecies) Royal Family in Nirn’s Existence, were cut down in just a few short nights.

so im mixed indigenous and I was thinking about TES (as always surprise surprise) and I view all the different elves races are very indigenous coded (specifically to North America/Turtle island)
like the Altmer are Southwestern nations (Apache, Navajo) Bosmer are Plains Cultures (Plains Cree, Lakota), Dunmer are Northwestern (Tlingit, Haida) Maormer are Eastern (Powhatan, Mi'kmaq) Snow Elves are Arctic (Inuit, Innu)
Not sure about Orismer though, this came about as a thought experiment of me trying to make a self-insert oc 😛 I'd be a Breton/Maormer by this logic haha
this is just for fun and too add an indigenous lens to tes, curious of what any other indigenous tes fans think :)

What's flabbergasting to me is how Supreme Leader is like Imma make sure my attackers never do this again by siding with them and pointing her blade at an organization that had nothing to do with what happened to her and didn't even know what happened? The logic makes no sense and we're supposed to buy it. I guess you could say she was conditioned by them but still.
That's why we have 4 years of discourse discussing the ins and outs of the Crust System (idk if the games even mention it!), and how Church BaD because it made people value Crusts so Supreme Leader's crusted present was offered because, uh, people wanted a leader to be super strong so with another Crust -
(the theory falls on its face pretty quickly, because if a Crust makes you stronger, Church or no Church, people would want one to be "stronger" !)
Then some people say Rhea BaD because she should have done something to prevent said experiments (but then she's also BaD for rekting people when they plan to kill her, so whether she takes action or not, she's BaD) - and it's like blaming the UN for a traffic accident in Paraguay.
That's why some other people (count me in!) theorised Supreme Leader's reasons were way too bullshitty, so either she was manipulated and buys something that doesn't make sense, or she knows it's senseless but uses her charisma to turn people against the Church and it somehow works (always be afraid of charismatic people!).
The entire premise of Ludwig directing the experiments is already shaky at best (he deposed Ionius who wanted to centralise everything on himself becoming too powerful and then... he went on create a super powerful emperor ?) and we know Ionius had a hard on for imperialism (like many Emperors before him) and Adrestia in general didn't like the CoS because they recognised Faerghus's existence, so add to that Mole People slithering around, and what's completely bullshitty is, still completely bullshitty, but it you suppose that the bullshit reasoning hides a deeper goal "get rid of the nabateans and conquer the world", it's a tool, like any other, to reach it.
