#Nobody cares that Brenner died

One of the things that bothers me the most is that it was only Eddie who died. Do not get me wrong, there are many characters I did not want to see die. But they hyped up deaths in v2 so much and then just killed off the new guy like they do every other time. Why make such a big deal as if it was going to be not only multiple deaths but imply that it would be major characters? The promotion tactics for the season were kinda bullshit because they didn’t commit to the bit, they didn’t do anything shocking or new. They just followed their own pattern from the last 3 seasons.

Things in Stranger Things season 4 (Volume 2) which did not make sense, were forgotten or simply pissed me off.
❗️Spoilers obviously❗️
The whole town was convinced that there was a cult going on and people got up looking for Eddie and seemingly the rest of Hellfire Club because they were convinced it was a cult. Did they just give up? They never showed up again. Also the parents didn't bring this up at the end when everyone was reunited.
Why did Mike believe that the painting was for him and El when he clearly read the letter that said Will was painting it for someone he likes. Additionally, how the fuck did Mike not notice his supposed "best friend" sobbing in the car right next to him? You can clearly see him look in Will's direction but he just doesn't do anything.
Is the police just... dead? Where are they? Why are they not actively going after Jason's crew
Where is Owen? Is he alive? Why did he say that he could get El back in Hawkins in 2 hours tops if the Cali crew said it would take all night to get back, was he gonna call a private jet or something??
Where is the military? They went to that lab and then were never heard of again.
When Nancy was Vecna'd, she was in the laboratory. Why???? She had nothing to do with that place. Why wasn't she robbed from facing her own fears and traumas at the start of volume 2? Also when she got stuck in front of those doors which were blocked off by planks, they were push doors. Why did she rip off all of those planks if she could've just pushed the door and crawled in between those planks. Maybe I'm getting something wrong here but that just seems like such a hard thing to miss while writing the script...
Why did only Jason and his buddy go to Lucas and Erica when he had a whole team? Were the other guys just watching tv?
Vecna survived being transported to another reality and being hit by lightening so much that his skin peeled off, but can't handle Steve and Robin throwing a molotov at him? Or a shotgun? Really?
Did they leave Eddie's body in the upside down? Why is nobody mourning him besides his uncle and Dustin? I thought Mike, Lucas, Steve, Nancy, Robin and even Erica cared.
So El can bring people back from the dead now? That's not telekinesis, that's Mary Sue magic. What's next? She can share her powers with anyone she wants and then they can make people fly with the jerk of a wrist?
We still don't know why the upside down is stuck on the moment Will was taken. With the way this was brought up in volume 1 it really seemed like this would be answered in volume 2. But of course not, because Will Byers just kept getting sidelined in every way possible.
How come it was leaked that 5 people would die in volume 2 but the only important characters who died were Brenner (papa) and Eddie. Max died but she was brought back to life because apparently Eleven can do that now. That's not 5 is it? Or did they count the people in that helicopter who were trying to shoot Eleven?
Were we supposed to care about Brenner's death???? With how the cemra kept focusing so much on him? I was glad to watch him go!!
The timeskip of 2 full days in the middle of the climax???? Wtf was that??????
Mike being a complete asshole to Will these past 2 seasons was just for no reason then? He is JUST an asshole??
Were Robin, Nancy and Steve just choking on those vines for like 15 minutes or was the time where Eleven struck Vecna actually a lot shorter than that?
They actually forgot Will's birthday, I hoped they were just joking but they really forgot. He was the only character with a canon birthday within the series (until they talked about Dustin's) but clearly they care so little about Will that his entire existence is forgotten.
Wasn't the upside down toxic? Why is everyone just fine inhaling the shit?
The queerbait. No, gay people didn't bait themselves. Netflix, the Duffers, and the actors were actively promoting Byler and hyping up Will's sexuality when in reality Byler is just doomed, not just as a romance but as friendship as well. And Will did not explicitly come out to anyone. People are STILL in denial that he's gay and that's exactly why you make characters come out instead of keeping it "up to interpretation wink wink"
Will calling Mike the heart of their group yet Mike's the one who broke their party up the most.
Mike saying he instantly fell in love with Eleven when they met, as if he didn't tell her to shut up, go away and stop being weird back then.
Mike saying his life started on the day he met Eleven, the same day Will went missing, in his face. When Mike said before that the best thing he had ever done was befriend Will in kindergarten.
So did Vecna create the Mind Flayer or did it already exist? Cause if Vecna created it that's so goddamn lame and it adds no new mystery.
The continuous stereotypes and suffering/deaths of outcasts, poor people, queer people and people of color. One black character plays basketball and the other is a sassy one-liner. The brown guy is a funny weed man with barely to no relevancy to the plot. One lesbian gets a lazy background ship with a girl who is an exact copy of herself and the gay character is living in a painful unrequited love story and used as fuel for the main straight couple, without even being given a canon coming out scene. All this while the straight couples get together and have tons of moments together. Eddie who is poor, is seen as a cultist, dies and nobody besides 2 people mourn his death. Max, another poor character who had already lived through trauma and abuse, dies, gets brought back to life, is now comatose, probably crippled, and maybe permanently blind.
Will's endless suffering. He just can't ever be happy can he? Wtf is wrong with the writers...
Did the Russian crew just end up at Hoppers cabin like that in 2 days? No problems whatsoever? Wow that's convenient.
Hopper hugs Mike but not his new stepsons?
Not one, not two, but three jokes about Hopper once having been fat because he's lost weight in the prison.
Comments had some great additions and I came up with some more too so here's more:
Nobody showed up to Lucas' game when he had a very valid reason to want to play, and it was never brought up again. They all stood him up.
Eddie's death was so rushed and predictable. I saw it coming as soon as he said his whole "I'm a coward I run away I'm not a hero" speech. It's typical "I'm a coward so I'll die a hero" foreshadowing which is overused and just horrible. And in the end he didn't even save anyone, it was completely unnecessary. Eddie deserved to live.
Eleven not being able to win the final fight until she got validation from her boyfriend. Why was she not allowed to do this by herself?
The military watching the pizza van drive off and then do nothing about it? I thought they were experts at tracing and tracking, but nope, they just gave up after Eleven escaped the underground lab.
Just the Cali crew being sidelined so much when they once were such interesting characters (besides Argyle)
Steve saying he always loved Nancy and never moved on despite him telling Robin in season 3 that he didn't like her anymore. Let Steve move on and stop having Nancy jump from boy to boy, hurting them both in the process.
Just a nitpick but the sound design was so overly dramatic at times? Like Brenner LITERALLY snapped a pencil and the sound design was like ☄️💥🔥
Tell me what I missed cause I'd love to add it on this shit list.

REAL STRANGER THINGS 5 LEAKS!!!! NOT FAKE!!!!! READ AT UR OWN RISK PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Season 5 begins with a ten minute musical number where everybody expresses their feelings in song, including Max. This is how she is revived.
In the first episode, Murray drinks twenty-two shots of vodka before getting behind the wheel of a large truck. He is never seen again.
Will dies in the first episode after he is hit by a large truck. He didn’t look both ways :/ too busy staring at Mike.
The first seven episodes will be a slice-of-life style sitcom starring Karen, Ted and Holly, set entirely inside the Wheeler’s house. Sometimes you can see the apocalypse happening outside the window.
The last episode will be twenty minutes long. Ten minutes will be spent recapping the previous seven episodes.
Mike and Eleven break up, only to get back together with Ted and Karen’s encouragement. They move into the Byers’ old house together and do not participate in the plot.
Will comes back to life, but he dies again once he sees Mike and Eleven in his old house. They laugh and throw his body into the Upside Down before making out to “Smalltown Boy” by Bronski Beat.
Brenner is immortal, but nobody cares.
Jonathan and the Demogorgon have an emotional heart-to-heart. The Demogorgon becomes the positive father figure that Jonathan always wanted.
Joyce develops an unhealthy obsession with magnets. She cannot go anywhere without her magnets. She must ensure the safety of her magnets.
Max heals from all her injuries completely.
In episode 7, Max accidentally drinks some Demogorgon slime by mistake, she becomes a Demogorgon. Lucas still loves her though.
Hopper dies, but is revived by Eddie who is a vampire, but he dies again, but is revived by Will who is a vampire, but he dies again, and this time he revives himself.
Joyce breaks up with Hopper when Bob comes back as a vampire. Joyce becomes a vampire herself, and they have a third child called Renesmee.
Bob revives Will so he can be a part of the family again, but Will decides to stay in the upside down instead.
Max and Lucas leave Hawkins together and never come back. They own a skateboard-basketball shop in Wyoming now called “Stalker & Co.”
Barb never actually died, she just got transported to our dimension and a body double was left behind. She’s a real human now, and a piece of her soul exists in every Barbie across the world.
Jonathan and the Demogorgon go to Lonnie’s house and beat him up.
Will spends the rest of his days playing Dungeons and Dragons with Vecna and the creatures of the upside down. He lives a satisfying life in those cold, slimy depths.
Vecna becomes a skincare influencer after installing Wi-Fi into the Upside Down.
Dustin and Steve spend the entirety of Season 5 launching a Haircare brand together. They become the world’s first multi-billionaires.
Hopper eats a sandwich at some point.
Mike and Eleven get married and have 11 kids, ten of whom are called Will. The last one is called Eggo. She was a mistake.
In the last two minutes of the final episode, Argyle, Erica and Mr. Clarke team up to save the day. The rest of the cast watch on while eating popcorn.
The series ends with all the dead characters coming back to life and high-fiving, before yelling in unison, “THAT WAS CRAZY, BUT I’VE SEEN STRANGER THINGS!!!” Then everybody claps and laughs and cheers and celebrates and claps.
In the final thirty seconds, Vecna suddenly erupts from the ground and torches everybody. Then he uses his time-travel powers (he has time-travel powers) to reset the Universe so that the series never happened.
The episode ends with MatPat explaining everything that just happened, before whispering “And that’s a film theory… and that’s a film theory… and that’s a film theory…” this goes on until the credits finish rolling.
LOOKS LIKE SEASON FIVE WILL BE THE BEST ONE YET!!!!! GUYS THIS IS ACTUALLY REAL!!!!!! IT’S TRULY AND CERTAINLY HAPPENIGNGNG……. I WOULD KNOW BECAUSE I AM ACTUALLY THE FORGOTTEN THIRD DUFFER BROTHER NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT. And that’s a film theory
Let me know if you have any other confirmed and 100% real leaks!! :)

Man, I’m never going to write it properly because I don’t have the patience or time, but one day I’m going to talk about my Crazier Things roleswap au.
Where—
Joyce kicked Lonnie out much earlier, and, instead of getting work at Melvald’s, decides to angle for a better paying job at the police station. Nobody believes she can handle being an officer because she’s Joyce Byers and she’s tiny and lbr a woman, but through her ferocious tenacity when the safety of her boys is on the line plus a pathetically slim pool of applicants (and the fact that I am the god if this au and I want her and Hop to swap roles because I’m swapping all the mains), eventually she’s brought on in a trial capacity. She ends up sticking around when her skills as a detective become apparent (yes, she still faces sexism in the workplace on the daily, but she is legitimately good at her job).
Meanwhile, Sara died when she was 2 or 3, so Hop’s divorce happened earlier. El wasn’t an experiment in this au (though she does have latent powers), but through some situation, Hopper ended up with El being shoved in his direction when she was a toddler. He wasn’t really in a fit place to care for her, but (for whatever reason that I have not and will not figure out) he ends up adopting her anyway. He moves the two of them back to Hawkins, and picks up a job at Melvald’s, because it’s what’s available at the time. Because all the stress doesn’t actually help his substance abuse issues (and because I need a reason for other people to doubt his sanity/perception a la s1 Joyce being doubled), he still drinks too much, and he’s not in a very mentally healthy place at all, but he’s trying his best.
Mike Wheeler might only be a little kid, but there’s already something weird about him. Even as a baby, he gets chronic nosebleeds. The lights flicker when he’s upset. Sometimes, the tape suddenly skips to or repeats a song that he loves, despite nobody touching the tape deck. Ted doesn’t notice any of this as more than a strange coincidence. Karen does her best not to think about it, but she can’t help but worry about her son.
Mike and Will still meet on the swings when they’re 5, and within the day, they’re best friends. Within the week, they also meet El, and the three of them become best friends.
The summer after Kindergarten, Karen takes Mike to see a doctor because she’s worried that his chronic nosebleeds haven’t stopped. That’s how he ends up on Brenner’s radar. And just before the start of first grade, Mike Wheeler disappears without a trace.
Max moves to Hawkins that October, and she becomes El and Will’s friend pretty quickly (she also gets a front row seat to the slow progression of the two of them losing more and more hope that their third best friend— who Max never met but knows everything about because both talk about him constantly— is ever coming home).
Karen obviously fights to look for her son, and the searches go on for months, but they find nothing. With her money and connections, Karen actually gets the current police chief kicked out of the position, because she doesn’t believe he’s doing everything he can to find her son. That’s how Joyce takes on the role of Police Chief because she might be the best detective the station has, but she’s also a woman so the thought is that Karen will probably get HER fired as well which for totally unknown reasons is the most palatable option to a bunch of people with power over the station (//sighs in sexism). Joyce actually listens to Karen, though, and is as transparent as possible about the search, even though it’s very cold at this point, so despite being dissatisfied and upset, Karen at least believes Joyce is doing her best. And that’s how Joyce ends up police chief.
Mike’s disappearance puts added pressure on the Wheeler house, so Nancy ends up acting out more for attention which is how we get Nancy in Steve’s canon s1 role as the popular party girl (though she’s still Nancy— smart as a whip and ambitious as hell, it’s just hidden better). Meanwhile, Jonathan ends up in her canon nerd role (he’s studying hard for a full ride to NYU!) with Barb as his best friend. And Steve… well, Billy showed up earlier with Max, so he got to work putting Steve down long before Steve’s rep was secure, and Steve is now something of a loner. He’s still a jock, but he does solo stuff like track instead of team sports. The upside is that this means he and Robin (who mayyyy or may not be the cool anti-establishment teen running this universe’s Hellfire Club, when the canon era starts) became friends earlier.
Steve and Jonathan know each other loosely, and are assigned to do a project together (Jonathan’s a nerd who’s taking a class above his grade level and Steve had no friends in the class so they got paired up by default), so Steve goes over to Jonathan’s house and sees Will, El, and Max huddled over their first dnd manual. Somehow (Steve doesn’t remember exactly how, but he’s pretty sure El and Will’s twin puppy dog eyes had something to do with it), a simple “oh, dnd, huh?” comment turns into thirteen year old Steve agreeing that the kids can use his place as a quiet place to play (his parents are never around anyway), and maybe he’ll get his cool friend who knows how to play to stop by and help out if they need it, and telling Joyce that it’s fine he wouldn’t mind babysitting because, really, he’s really bored a lot of the time in his big, empty house. And from then on, Steve’s place is this version of the Party’s Wheeler Basement.
Lucas shows up in fourth grade, and joins the Party. Obviously this changes his dynamic with Max— they get a slower burn in this one (and I’m still undecided whether it would ultimately end with El/Lucas/Max or Dustin/El), but he gets accepted really readily.
So… on November 6, 1983, the Party bikes home from Steve’s place after a session, and El vanishes (which is Will’s actual worst nightmare because now BOTH of his Kindergarten best friends have vanished without a trace). This leads, ultimately, to Will, Max, and Lucas going looking for El in the woods the next night. They don’t find her, but they do find a very bewildered boy with black, shaved hair and dark eyes, with the number 014 tattooed on his wrist.

Problems With The Heart
Tumblr media
Greg House x Dr Anna Harding (OFC)
Story Masterlist
Chapter 10 - Brain Cancer
Anna was back at work, she assured Cuddy it was just a bug and she would be fine. She didn’t answer any questions about her illness and House wouldn’t say either, he deflected at every turn. Cameron was concerned and consulted with Wilson about it, but he didn’t know she’d even been ill.
‘It was probably just a bug, like she said.’ Wilson dismissed it, half not wanting to get involved.
‘She's got an appointment with a Dr Brenner on Thursday and House is taking the afternoon off.’ Cameron caught his attention with that. Dr Brenner was a specialist in gynaecology, but she specialised more in pregnancy. ‘What’s Dr Brenner’s specialty?’
‘I think you should drop this.’ Wilson said seriously. ‘Anna is a very private woman and not someone you want to get on the wrong side of as Tritter found out. My suggestion is that you leave hers and House’s privacy, private.’
He was unsure that Cameron would do as he asked, but he did want to talk to House about it.
‘Is she pregnant?’ He asked, quietly just as House was packing his things to leave.
‘Who?’
‘Don’t play dumb. Anna?’ Wilson rolled his eyes.
‘Nope.’
‘Then why is she seeing Dr Brenner on Thursday? She not even scheduled to be in on that day.’
How should I know?’
‘Because you’ve taken the afternoon off as well.’
House looked at him with that look he gave when he knew he was winning whatever childish game they were playing. He swung his bag over his shoulder and went towards the door.
‘You think it could be a coincidence?’
‘Er, no, I think you’re covering for your girlfriend.’
House turned back and gave him a playful look. ‘Bold of you to assume she’s my girlfriend.’
‘Wait, what?’ Wilson followed House out. ‘What happened? Eight months ago, you were thinking of asking her to move in with you, now you say she’s not even your girlfriend? What’s going on?’
‘Eight months happened, you want me to list off every event because that could take a while.’ House stepped into the elevator and Wilson realised he wasn’t going to get any answers from him. He was a lot less likely to get anything from Anna and Cuddy knew even less than that. Wilson let out a heavy breath and decided if Cameron was as annoyingly curious as he thought, she would get the answer.
‘She said it was a bug and House was exposed as well, I didn’t grill her on it.’ Cuddy said as Wilson demanded to know what Anna had told her. ‘Either that or they got drunk, had a rough weekend and paid the price for a few days. Nobody died and House was on the other end of the phone. What’s the big deal?’
Wilson put his hands on his hips and thought about what he wanted to say. ‘She’s got an appointment with Dr Brenner on Thursday and House has the afternoon off.’
Cuddy’s head snapped up. ‘She’s pregnant.’
‘I don’t know, House wouldn’t say.’
‘Have you asked her that?’
‘No, I figured I’d get less from her than I did from him.’ Wilson reasoned and Cuddy conceded.
‘Who else knows?’
‘Cameron was asking about Brenner’s specialty, but I didn’t tell her anything. I told her to drop it.’
Cuddy rolled her eyes. They both knew it wouldn’t happen.
The appointment was a success, the miscarriage confirmed with a physical examination and I felt like crap. House was there to take me home and we watched TV while I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was to find a note that said he’d gone back to work and he’d be around if I needed anything.
The rest of the weekend was an uneventful one. Something felt off though, House and I didn’t generally talk about things, we had an understanding of each other through our actions, that was how we worked. I knew he loved me, but he never said it. It should have been enough.
We continued to hang out, we had fun and it was back to normal, he was more careful when we had sex and I took a pregnancy test every time I missed a period. The one thing that was starting to eat at our relationship was the news that House had brain cancer.
‘You don’t have brain cancer.’ I said as soon as he opened the door to his house.
‘Hello to you too.’ He stood to one side letting me in.
‘Why is your team telling me you have brain cancer when we both know you don’t?’
It took a while but he told me why and I felt for him. He was miserable. I didn’t get a chance to say anything before his team showed up at his door as well. They’d already sent the results to Boston.
‘Oh hey, we didn’t realise you’d be here.’ Cameron said, awkwardly seeing me on his sofa.
‘Where else would I be?’ I rolled my eyes.
‘Wait, did you know he didn’t have cancer?’
I took a moment to gage what I should have said from House’s reaction.
‘Yeah, I knew and I knew about the drone.’ I nodded.
‘And you’re okay with your boyfriend doing this to himself? Telling us he had cancer!’
I rolled my eyes again, standing up. ‘First off, we’re not together and second of all, I was the one who told him about it.’ Both of which were true. ‘Look, I get it now, I’ve been here long enough to realise how this all works. Privacy isn’t a thing for you guys, you’re always prying into peoples lives and making it your business. Did you ever find out who Dr Brenner was?’ Cameron gave a guilty look. ‘I thought so. Look, as long as we can all do our jobs, what does it matter what we do outside of that?’
No one said anything and House eventually got them to leave. He looked at me and sighed.
‘You didn’t know, why did you tell them you did?’
I shrugged. ‘Makes you look like less of an arse.’ I sighed. ‘But you should deal with this before Wilson starts slipping you antidepressants.’
‘You think he will?’
‘You don’t?’ I shot back. ‘Look, I’m going to head home. You don’t need me here.’
‘I want you here.’
I breathed as steadily as I could. ‘I can’t do this again. You want more, I don’t.’
‘I think you do. Even if you don’t think so…’ House looked down at his shoes. ‘You’re in love with me-‘
‘Are you in love with me?’ I blurted it out before I could stop it. ‘Don’t answer that.’ I stopped him speaking. ‘I’m leaving.’
I picked up my jacket and went to leave, but House stopped me. I looked up at him.
‘If I say it now, it won’t mean anything.’
‘Then don’t say it and let me go.’ I said, exasperated.
‘I want you to stay.’ It sounded like he was begging.
I didn’t stay anything. I looked up at him and felt the guilt. I let my breath go and smiled a little.
‘Have sex with me.’ I said, watching his small smile form. ‘Endorphins and all that. If it’s pleasure you’re looking for-‘
His mouth was on mine, his hands were on my body and I felt that same rush I always felt when we were together.
It was different this time though, normally House would start gentle, move to desperate to make me come, then he would go slow until he came. This time it was rough and fast, he wasn’t selfish, he made me come and made sure I was having as good a time as him, but there was something desperate about it.
He held me close and kissed along my shoulder, it was soft and just enough to keep me on the edge of arousal.
‘What are you doing?’ I chuckled.
‘Making you want me.’ He growled.
‘I already had you.’ I gasped as his hand moved up to my nipple, gently rolling it between his fingers.
‘You can have me whenever you want, if you stay.’
My hand went straight to his, stopping him. ‘Greg.’
‘You only call me Greg when you want me.’ He said, dragging his teeth across my already sensitive neck. ‘One night, stay here.’ He repeated, pushing his hips against me. ‘I’m still inside you, you don’t think that’s a compelling argument?’ Okay that was funny.
‘Fine.’ I sighed, giving in. This time it was slower, House made me come again and by the time he was done I was exhausted.
Foreman was the catalyst to everything else that followed, he was quitting and there was nothing anyone could do about it. He didn’t want to be like House and even I could understand that. What I didn’t see coming was House firing Chase for no apparent reason. I had no explanation for Wilson or Cuddy, telling them that House and I weren’t together so they had no reason to come to me. I didn’t even ask him why he did it.
Instead I helped him order a new guitar and drink until we both couldn’t see straight. I was waiting for the news to come through about Cameron resigning and sure enough it came around the same time that Foreman left. In amongst it all, there was some interview that was sabotaged and I knew instantly that it was House who’d been the one to do it, but I kept quiet, it wasn’t my problem.
His team had left and he had yet to hire a new one. The only thing he’d done with his time is play his new electric guitar and consult with me on my patients, no one else seemed to interest him.
Wilson had come up with a plan to hold his guitar hostage until he interviewed for new staff and I couldn’t deny it was a genius move. I was on the lookout while Wilson stole the instrument and put up a ransom notice. House gave me a suspicious look but smirked when I rolled my eyes.
‘Don’t make me do a full body search.’ He yelled as I walked back toward the elevator.
I just shook my head and didn’t engage with him.

some thoughts on st4 vol 2. read at your own risk:
i think the most disappointing thing about vol2 was that it just seemed like they were going through the motions of finishing all the setups from vol1. but nothing felt surprising or exciting because it was all so obvious
what was the purpose of a 2.5 hour finale? there were so many places they could’ve split that last episode and had a 10 episode season? and it’s not like anyone WASNT going to watch it all at once, it would’ve accomplished the exact same thing. im so confused why they didn’t split that last episode.
the pacing this whole season was just horrendous
i feel like they could’ve just ended the show. it seemed like everything was wrapping up and then at the last minute they were like “jk” so that they would have something to do for season 5. but it could’ve just ended there…
i felt literally 0 things about eddie’s death because it was so obvious that it was going to happen. like yeah it was sad because he was a fun and good character but it was so obvious that it was going to happen that i was just like. okay.
honestly i wish they’d actually had the guts to kill max. not because i don’t love her or because it would’ve even necessarily been a good storyline but just because it would have been *something* that happened. like i feel like literally nothing of consequence happened this season. at least if they’d had the balls to actually kill a main character then like… there would be actual stakes
the eleven stuff in the lab was SO BORING and it remained SO BORING. it’s unbelievable to me that nobody read that script and was like “hey guys are you sure we need to repeat the exact same information like seven times. i feel like people will get it the first time” i was honestly about to fucking fast forward through it. please why couldn’t that have been cut
i still think the 001 henry vecna character was lame and this didn’t change my opinion on that in any way
mike still sucks and i still don’t understand it. i can barely even articulate how mad i am because THAT IS NOT MY MIKE they fucking destroyed him. and for WHAT
the russia stuff was also still boring. even the hopper joyce kiss was just like ok yeah. but they barely interacted for the whole season like their whole romance this season was just like “trust us guys” based on development that happened in the last three seasons so that when they finally kissed it ended up just being sort of meh because they only had like 4 minutes of screentime together. like i can’t believe we built up to that for so long just for me to be like. okay.
i guess we weren’t going to find out why dr brenner was alive. i guess also there was going to be literally no purpose in bringing him back either. also why did he have to die so dramatically and for such a long scene when THE MAN DIED ALREADY IN THE SHOW. look i love matthew modine but seriously what was the point
literally can anyone tell me what the point of robin as a character is? and even more so what the point of her stupid love interest is??? she literally didn’t do anything. like. again i was just like WHO CARES
i guess lucas and max are cute still
the jock character also literally did nothing. he just was there to add some suspense in the lucas and max scene in the attic and then get knocked out and never appear on screen again? okay.
if they had really planned all this out then why didn’t they shoot some of those eleven flashbacks when mbb was still a little kid huh. instead of doing the weird uncanny valley cgi. it almost makes u think… that maybe…… they didn’t plan it all out…………
what is will doing as a character. seriously what did he do this season that impacted the plot in any way. we just got ANOTHER “i can feel him” speech to end the season like WE GET IT but can they give this poor kid something to *do* (please give me evil will. like not evil by choice but give me will villain era. it was hinted at so hard and then he still did nothing)
stancy gang… we neither won nor lost tonight. we didn’t win to the extent i was dreaming we would, but we also didn’t lose to the extent i was worried we would. the door is still open for stancy. that’s literally the only thought in my only brain cell that’s still hanging on to anything in this show.
i don’t even know what to think like what was the point of any of that.
okay good night love n light besties

okay but why did they even “kill” Max just to throw an uno reverse card and put her in a coma??? it was really redundant and if the duffers wanted to affect the fans with who died they really should’ve just let her die along with Eddie… because I was crying during that whole scene with Max and then they were like psych! so like what was the point??? Not that I wanted Max to die but no other death made an impact besides Eddie’s and they were acting like we were gonna lose main characters and the only other characters that died were Brenner and Jason and who fucking cares about them? Nobody! It just made the whole multiple deaths thing feel really insignificant and the only sad death was the duffers usual trick of killing a new character (don’t even get me started on that, Eddie deserved better than that!)

ok so good points of this season:
- lucas is a sweetheart i actually think he’s pretty well written. his friendship with max is amazing
- robin and steve
- the running up that hill scene
- the kid they cast as young el who i genuinely didn’t realise was not millie. fucking big props to the casting team for that one.
bad points of this season:
- max’s struggles deserved WAY more depth and screentime. instead it was just ‘im sad my brother died’ :( forgetting he was a fucking abuser. and NOBODY at any point has told her that it wasn’t her fault and her feelings were valid.
- argyle. not only a useless character but outright cringe.
- the ENTIRE hopper/joyce plotline like literally WHAT was the point of any of it. joyce was wildly underused, shoved in scenes with a guy who’s frankly embarrassing to watch, and hopper’s character was so destroyed by s3 that i don’t care if he dies. honestly, they should have just erased all of that. it took up so much time that could’ve been spent on characters we care about
- speaking of characters we care about. eddie. what was the point of him. he’s boring. his introduction scene was literally ‘look how much of a prick this guy is’. the whole idea of the jocks going on a manhunt against the ‘freak’ dnd player COULD have been an interesting look at mob mentality and marginalised cultures but instead it was like. mkay remind me why i care?
- why is lucas the only black character who isn’t dead, tortured, or a stereotype. i do enjoy erica but she’s... idk yet again sth about her makes me uncomfortable. she makes me feel a lil bit too... sassy black girl stereotype idk.
- stereotypes again: robin. while i DO love robin and i do very much love autistic robin... idk man. something about the way they’ve written her makes me very uncomfortable. it’s like they just went ‘let’s make her autistic coded but forget to give her any other personality’. like literally EVERY word out of her mouth is to talk about her autistic traits, without ever saying she’s actually neurodivergent. it’s sort of just played for laughs. in s3 she had an actual character, she had wants and fears. in s4 she’s kinda just... there to be the funny awkward girl.
- vecna. good god. why. just why. why is your big bad a fucking aspd stereotype AGAIN. WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL. ONE COULD HAVE BEEN SO AMAZING. not to rehash my tags in the last post but WHY wasn’t he an actual victim of brenner that went mad and killed everyone because the trauma broke him!!! he would have been so much more compelling!!! instead they just made him a psycho who wants to kill humans bc they’re lesser!!! THAT IS SO DULL!!!
- also his design is boring as hell. like cmon if you’re gonna make your big bad vecna at least make him equally as cool as vecna’s design.
- where the fuck is will. the best actor in the entire series and you put him in california. why. the man fucking carries every scene he’s in and you shove him with the most boring sixteen year old on the planet, a cringey stoner guy, and his loser older brother. (speaking of i’ve never been a huge jonathan fan but come on why is he SUCH A loser this season). why didn’t we get more scenes with el and will!!! they should be SUCH great friends!!!!!
- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

WHAT WAS EVEN THE LAST 2 EPISODES OF STRANGER THINGS
Okay firstly Doc Brenner death but also finding out that he was still searching for Henry/001/Vecna. But what happens to Doctor Owens??
When Robin, Nancy and Steve got choked by the tentacles that was such an intense scene
Guys Argyle is the brain I mean he figured out how to reach Nina and where to find tons of salt
Like nobody cared about Eddie?? It felt like that, can’t believe they just created a season to kill EDDIE
And when Max’s leg out twisted I did not expect that so she died but Eleven brought her back
But still he won?? And now that Will is back at Hawkins he can still sense him I guess that’s going to happen in season 5
The place El send 001 was a place that already existed !!
And the Russian group yess the demogorgon and Hopper scene was intense and we finally got the Jim and Joyce kiss

STRANGER THINGS Season 4 Vol. 2 Thoughts
Once again, as much as I like Jim Hopper (that weight loss tho!), Joyce, Enzo, and kind of Murray, I still think Jim should have been left dead. The entire Russian subplot personally bored me and didn’t help carry the main storyline for season four. It especially was a little bothersome when there was an intense moment in Hawkins or even at the lab with Eleven and then the next scene was Russia. Right as it was getting good and got you hooked...
I will say, though, that I loved Enzo’s one-on-one talk with Yuri. He basically reminded Yuri that he was--used to be a hero and, as cheesy as it sounds, asked him where that person is. It sure boosted his confidence, so way to go Enzo!
The actor who plays Enzo is kind of good-looking.
Will cried in Jonathan’s embrace because they were just having a sweet, brother-to-brother conversation. I honestly thought it was because someone died, but okay...
Will crying in the car after explaining to Mike that Eleven really does love and miss him [Will]. Will was absolutely, 100% telling Mike his feelings for him, but he managed to do it by replacing “I”, “me”, etc. with ‘Eleven’, ‘she’, etc.
Argyle. That’s it.
That dude at the pizza place was high as fuck. 😂
“My dude.”
Too many slow motion scenes, oh my Lord. Just get on with it! I understand it’s for drama and suspense, but not everything had to be in slow-mo.
Jonathan convincing the ‘dude’ to let them use the restaurant in exchange for a blunt. 😂
“How is he still high?!”
Mike/Eleven’s relationship dominated, like, 75% of the last two episodes. It took Mike telling her he loved her and professing his love for her to build up the strength and courage to attempt at killing Vecna and try to save Max. I know Vecna got tentacles choking the shit out of her and basically wrapped up to where she couldn’t escape, but still... . Meanwhile, Max was unconscious.
*Eleven was in tub with salt water at a restaurant so she could get inside Max’s mind when this happened, by the way.*
Eleven standing up for herself/to Dr. Brenner, who was manipulative and abusive (physically, mentally, and emotionally)! I’m so proud of her!
Dr. Owens was a great man.
Dr. Brenner was the other one who died. The writers gave all of us a scare by saying that many people in the main group were going to die, and that was not okay! But well played.
Eleven trying to convince Vecna/Henry/001 that he doesn’t have to be evil and can stop trying to take over the world and instead be good. Good talk. A shame, though, that he didn’t listen to her.
The flashback scenes to previous seasons depending on what was going on.
I personally wasn’t a fan of him nor obsessed with him like everyone else, but I still disagree with Eddie being killed. And the fact that only Dustin and Eddie’s family member were saddened by his death? OUCH. Not even Steve? Nobody from any of the groups acknowledged his absence.
I personally could not care less about this couple, but props to Mike for finally manning up and confessing his true feelings for Eleven. Of course, it happened, though, when she was on the verge of being killed. (Vecna had a tentacle choking her to the point of her not breathing and almost dying)
The reunions at the end of the episode nine back at Jim’s cabin.
I appreciate the flashback scenes explaining how Henry literally turned into Vecna and why he acts and thinks the way he does, because I would have been so confused without them. I’m a visual learner, people!
However... had the Russia subplot not been part of season four, then there definitely would have been potential to give us a little more insight on Henry/Vecna/001. Why did Henry resent the world? How did Dr. Brenner find him (or was that explained in volume 1)? There was quite a lot of potential to better Vecna, but the opportunity was not seized. Cool looking character, though!
The way Henry looked prior to getting blasted and basically exploding was terrifying. The scars, most of his hair missing... Wow! A big round of applause to the makeup department!!!!
Lucas and Jason fighting each other. I honestly really thought Jason was going to win, but thank God he didn’t!
When one of the jocks chased Erica and tackled her, I almost screamed. That was terrible to watch, but she beat his ass. 😌
Nancy, Robin, and Steve almost died. Those scenes had my heart racing!
I like the character, but given the shit Vecna put Max through, she should have died instead of get put in a coma.
Eleven apparently has the powers to bring dead people back to life (Is that a newly discovered power or has she always been able to??), so I hope we, uh, see Eddie and Chrissy in season five. But it’s very doubtful.
If I think of anymore moments worth noting, then I’ll reblog this post and add on, but for now, these are the main highlights for me. The cliffhanger was good, but it wasn’t episode seven level good. All in all, combined, I give the last two episodes a 6.5/10 and this season an 8/10.

ST 4 SPOILERS & MY OPINION+THOUGHTS.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I started at 3, on the dot. Ended the entire show at 1pm. I’m not really sure what to say other than I love the horror aspect, very much needed, I'd say...? Feel bad for the people of Hawkins, they really be going through it... lmao.
Anyhow, I love Eddie, didn't think I would like him as much but I do !! Which is surprising because when a TV show introduces a new character, it's a hit or miss. BUT!!
I fuckin love Argyle, too! Him and Jonathan are funny as fuck together, even if they are high most of the time, it's hilarious to see. I really liked the new characters which again, very shocking that I do because once more, it's always a hit or a miss.
NOW!!!!!! For the things I didn't like was that there's so many fucking PLOT HOLES. How did Brenner come back alive when he had gotten eaten previously in s1? Did I miss something or did he explain that or like what the fuck. Speaking of s1, how come Mike got angry that Eleven smacked tf out of Angela (much deserved, by the way, I don't care) yet didn't get angry when she broke that kid's arm in s1...? Is it because it was for his gain, his safety? Like, okay, sure... I guess...
Moving on, I don't really think Joyce would've dropped her kids like THAT over Hopper. That girl really wanted sum fuck, huh? Especially with everything that happened in s3.... she was putting herself in more danger and had she not returned, the kids would be in the stoner - Jonathan - 's hands....?? I don't think she was clearly acting with her thoughts but with her hormones, miss girl really wanted that dick which is understandable, it's Hopper but like.... eh. (half joking, may I add.)
Don't get me started on Steve & Nancy. I hate it. I hated it in the first seasons. Nobody asked for that. It's her own damn fault for going after then-creep Jonathan who snapped pictures of her when Steve, WHO WAS RIGHT FOR ACTING THE WAY HE HAD (other than the fighting, sure) was protecting her and was making sure Jonathan wasn't messing with her...? AND NOW SHE WANTS STEVE BACK? I THOUGHT IT WAS "ALL BULLSHIT" NANCY...? Fuck off. I cannot stand her, I'm fucking sorry. If she died, I would care fucking less. I'd whoop and holler, sorry not sorry. She has no real character development. And in s4, I feel like they lost all that development that they had...? AND FOR WHAT REASON!?!
Speaking of the topic that is being out of character, I don't think Lucas would ever turn his back on his friends. In the end, he came back together with them, yes... but I don't think he ever would do that. Nonetheless, they're teenagers now and they have a lot of hormones and shit changes but I don't know... It made me angry on the others' behaves. Regardless, they came back and grouped but still.
The stars of the season, in my opinion, is the gang from Indiana. (minus the shebang that's Steve and Nancy.) Sadie's portray on Max is, as always, INCREDIBLE. Dear Billy has to be one of my favorite episodes, just for her acting there alone.
(Plus, I got to see Billy again for like 5 minutes which was nice... Still wish he would've survived somehow but I guess not... despite, y'know, Brenner being alive and whatever the fuck. WHICH AGAIN CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN IF HE HAD MENTIONED HOW HE CAME BACK... DID I MISS SOMETHING?)
The plot twist of the finale was so good, though. My only complaint was the villain's speech was TOO FUCKING LONG. IT TOOK UP HALF THE FUCKING EPISODE AND IT WAS JUST... "Oh, that's how we're ending this volume? Okay." Also wish Robert Englund was in more than one episode, seeing as they had made such a big deal that he was there..? But whatever, I guess.
TL;DR --
I enjoyed it for the most part. I just wish TV shows (and movies) wouldn't fuck up their character's arc and development so badly, lol.

Probably not a common and popular opinion, but for me Joyce was the hero of S3. She didn’t have powers, no gun, but by being smart, perceptive and persistent, she found the gate with Hopper and ultimately closed it. But sometimes, people’s preconceptions that El and Hopper are the " heroes" of the show are so strong and entrenched, they don’t see what’s in front of them?
Joyce is always a hero in her own right. That woman is tenacious and brave, and she doesn't let anything or anyone get between her and the well-being of her kids. Ditto Hopper, who keeps willingly getting into supernatural danger to protect others. The same can be said for Steve, Jonathan, and anyone who's been around for more than a season.
When I sat El gets to be the hero, I mean that she's always the one who gets the big moments of glory. This happens even if she's already been beaten. She was exhausted after taking out Brenner's men in season 1, but still managed to get up and defeat the Demogorgon. She got back just in time to save everyone from the demodogs in season 2, then went on to close the Gate. She defeated possessed-Billy in the Sauna, despite already being overpowered. She held off the monster at the Cabin. Then she fought at the Mall even though her powers went away, and she was the one who broke through to Billy's humanity (which is something I felt should have been Max's moment).
Everyone would have died in any of those moments without El. We get it, she's powerful and caring. She will want to use her powers to protect people.
However, we find ourselves in a situation where her powers have left her, and all people want is for her to get them back? Nobody wants someone else to get a moment to shine? I'm terrified that she'll get her powers back after only an episode or two, and that the only way there can be any real threat is to make the villains to obscenely powerful.
It also means that there's little development on her part. She can just go back to solving her problems with her powers. It would be a lost opportunity for her to learn and grow as a regular kid, which is something she's never had!

After re watching all 3 seasons four times, each time with a different sibling, I got a little thoughtful about the Mind Flayer and what it represents to the abused children of the series, aka Will, Billy, and El.
Will Byers
In S1, Will clearly draws a parallel of the creature to the Demogorgon from the DND session. Both as a way of explaining what on earth was happening to him and also perhaps a way of verbalizing trauma. The Demogorgon is a minion of the Mind Flayer, being made to hunt Will down and presumably take him alive so the Mind Flayer can impregnate him.
For Will, the Mind Flayer/Demogorgon hunts him down, terrifies him, forcing him to run from hiding spot to hiding spot. Back in Hawkins, Jonathan said that Will is ‘good at hiding’.
Why is Will good at hiding? Lonnie. Whether Lonnie was ever physically abusive with him is unconfirmed to my knowledge, but he definitely persecuted Will verbally, heaping abuse and insult and ‘you’re not good enough’ on his younger son. His arguments with Joyce were loud and explosive, clearly something that caused emotional and psychological distress to Will. (Also Lonnie kinda slammed my son Jonathan into a wall...so he could easily do something similar to Will, something cruel and cowardly, and brush it off as some manly ‘rough and tumble’)
The first place Will made meaningful contact with Joyce was in a little cubbyhole, where she held the bundle of Christmas lights. It isn’t a stretch to see Will using the same cubbyhole to hide from Lonnie and, in the present, hide from the Demogorgon, stalking around outside, roaring. Harsh, loud sounds...like the voice of his abusive father shouting his name, shouting at Joyce.
So a double nightmare for Will. Also, thanks to Jonathan and Joyce, Will seems to suffer no guilt over what Lonnie did...he doesn’t seem to blame himself for his father’s abuse, doesn’t think he deserved it. He didn’t escape trauma-free, but is more concerned now with forgetting it, with finding his place in the world when he’s already so different by virtue of his isolation and his Upside Down adventure. It was just a ‘bad roll’ that will scar him forever. Something that just happened. Because life is like that sometimes. **cries forever**
Billy Hargrove
Billy’s parallels are a little more obvious. Like Neil, the Mind Flayer strikes with very little notice (and breaks up his date completely and I feel awful for laughing at that but still, lol). Like Neil, the Mind Flayer seeks to exert complete and utter control over Billy, to empty him of himself and put his own personality there instead. Like Neil, the Mind Flayer not only catches Billy, but exhibits violence on him and isolates him from humanity.
This is not to say that Neil was controlling Billy and making him behave as he did in Season 2. This is to say that years of abuse with no family/friendship structure to help him made it easy for Billy to lash out at others like that. He fights a war every day alone against Neil and his own personal demons of hatred, substance abuse, and depression, and after the Mind Flayer takes him his body becomes the same kind of battered, abused battleground.
And just like Will says, “the Demogorgon got me” because of his bad roll...Billy’s Mom told him to “watch out for rip currents”. And then, out of nowhere, a force of nature/evil grabs Billy by the foot and yanks him into a living nightmare. I do believe Heather falling into black depths, like water, is purposeful imagery. (If not then I am just a lucky fanfic writer) I believe the Mind Flayer drowns people in their own heads, subsumes them under their own identities. He is the Seven Foot Wave for Billy, but also the rip current underneath. And Billy must try to swim until he drowns.
While I’m sure its been done to death, it’s worth mentioning that El’s act of empathy for Billy...the feeling that he was not alone, that someone cared...was enough for him to stand up to the Mind Flayer.
Which means that if Billy had either been reached out to or made the decision on his own to reach out (both viable. Nobody owes my dumpster son redemption but wouldn’t it be absolutely wonderful if it worked out that way, and nobody had to die alone and abused all their lives that’s what TV is for Duffer brothers yammit), then he would have resisted Neil’s domination and become his own person, scarred but free.
Eleven aka Jane aka El
Finally, El. There aren’t as many parallels here...except the same quality in El makes both ‘Papa' burn-and-die-please Brenner and the Mind Flayer interested in her...her psychic powers. Brenner sees her as a weapon he can point at others. The Mind Flayer sees her as a weapon pointed at itself. Brenner tried to destroy her humanity so there’d be nothing left but the power. The Mind Flayer tried to destroy her so she couldn’t use it. Neither of them cared about or saw the girl.
And neither gives a toss about humanity either. If it could, the Mind Flayer would kill everyone. If he thought he needed to, Dr. Brenner would kill anyone. Both sides of the coin of the same type of monster. They both dehumanized El and reduced her to a pawn on their chessboard.
How did they react to this monster, and to this trauma?
Will fought the Mind Flayer tooth and nail to protect his family and friends. He loved them and it was their love for him that reminded him he could fight...with just a finger, tapping away at Morse Code. He retained a piece of himself until his family could drive away the bully. Like Lonnie, the Mind Flayer fled the house, slamming his door on the way out. Like an abusive parent being kicked out of a family he’d been damaging for far too long. And Will was left behind, battered, bruised, but alive. And he would continue to live despite the scars.
Billy fought the Mind Flayer in a way that, because of the Mind Flayer’s direct control, isn’t as apparent. Saving Karen, unnecessarily revving his car engine outside the mall to warn Nancy and the kids, and of course, the big scene...just standing there and saying ‘No’. Holding his ground. In many ways, just saying No and refusing to budge is far more difficult then walking the other way. Billy didn’t try to run. He caught the Mind Flayer’s tentacle/Neil’s fist, and despite the fact that the last time he stood between a bully and a woman (Neil and his Mom/Mind Flayer and El) and it didn’t do him a spit of good in the end...Billy was willing to do so again. And I will point out that during his final scream, black liquid was oozing out of his mouth. Sure, maybe it was a sign of internal bleeding. But maybe it was a sign that Billy was mentally kicking the Mind Flayer’s ass, and would have freed himself completely if not for that fatal strike. **coughBilly’salivehonksclownnose**
And El? El is so wonderful. Despite being deprived and dehumanized, she didn’t want to hurt that cat. She killed those men after being repeatedly isolated in a dark room that terrified her. She tried to please her Papa, ripped open a gateway to another world, and then blamed herself. When she went out into the world and met kind people, she wept because she realized she had put them in danger. And when Papa returned? Showered her with ‘love’ and ‘approval’ and promised to fix everything?
El had learned that, regardless of his ability to ‘fix things’, whatever lurked in Papa Brenner was evil, and would hurt her, and all the good people he’d left as a trail of bodies to get to her. She may not have had a single clue how to fix everything, but she had the absolute courage to try. She rejected evil and took responsibility for the entire world in a single moment, and I don’t think she can be praised enough for somehow rejecting years and years of brainwashing to make a choice that many of us today would hesitate over.
And El isn’t amazing because she had friends. Billy wasn’t so damaged and hurtful because he didn’t. Will didn’t retain his sweetness simply because his Mom threw Lonnie out. Friends and family don’t guarantee your moral state or even your social state. There are innumerable factors that get thrown into the mixing pot that makes up a person. Love, education, perception, inspiration, and outside treatment...these all get thrown against your inner reasoning, inner strength, and you make choices. Sometimes against impossible odds, against unavoidable failure, but you always make choices.
These children all chose to fight against the monsters that abused them, that tried to destroy them and everything that made them who they were. When their nightmares became real, and the Upside Down responded in kind, joining forces to torment them and echo what they’d already suffered from their ‘father figures’...they fought. The spark that was their spirit could not be quenched even when they were never quite the same. Even when they died. And that to me is an unbearably beautiful thing.

carolyn  is  six  years  old  when  cynthia  discovers  the  truth  of  the  lab.  of  the  children.  of  her  daughter.  he  never  left  a  mark  on  her  ,  so  cynthia  had  no  reason  to  be  suspicious.  they  had  home  schooled  carolyn  for  kindergarten  ,  her  husband  taking  it  upon  himself  to  tutor  her  himself.  he  was  a  scientist  after  all  ,  she  rationalized.   she  sought  to  discover  what  exactly  he  had  been  working  on  ,  what  could  take  up  his  time  &  life  so  much.  she  can  never  ask  him  ,  she’d  never  get  any  answers.  so  she  watches  him.  at  home  &  at  the  lab  to  see  where  he  kept  his  files.  the  other  scientists  avoid  her  ,  she  is  an  outcast  at  her  own  work.  it  takes  her  a  week  before  she  manages  to  find  his  information  ,  locked  away  in  the  confines  of  his  desk  in  his  study.  good  thing  she  managed  to  swipe  the  key.  she   opens  his  drawers  without  him  aware  ,  &  she  finds  what  she  was  looking  for.  he  has  a  file  on  her  daughter.  in  the  notes  ,  she’s  only  labeled  as  zero  or  pumpkin.  never  carolyn.  she  reads  more  than  she  wanted  to  ,  shaking  &  alone.  experimentation  was  being  done  on  her  daughter  by  her  father’s  commands.  it  all  made  sense  at  that  point  :  why  there  was  a  children’s  room  at  the  lab  ,  &  why  he  had  insisted  on  homeschooling  her.  he  wanted  to  use  her.
cynthia  takes  carolyn  away  from  the  lab  against  the  wishes  of  her  husband.  her  daughter  is  so  tiny  within  her  arms  ,  her  heart  racing  against  carolyn’s  ear  where  its  pressed  against  her  chest.  there  aren’t  any  signs  of  experimentation  on  her  body  ,  but  the  case  file  was  enough  for  her.  she  tells  martin  that  she  could  call  the  police  on  him.  he  tells  her  nobody  would  believe  her.  he’s  too  calm  for  somebody  whose  daughter  was  being  taken  away.  then  again  ,  he  was  the  one  who  harmed  her  in  the  first  place.  mommy  ,  she  hears  in  a  quiet  whimper  from  her  child.  cynthia  begs  martin  to  let  carolyn  go ,  to  let  her  go.  she’s  just  a  child  ,  martin  !  don’t  you  understand  that  ?  he  threatens  her  if  she  leaves  ,  men  at  the  ready  with  guns  &  force.  he  doesn’t  seem  to  care  much.  i  won’t  tell  anyone  ,  i  promise.  i  won’t  come  back.  nobody  will  know.  please  let  me  have  her.   in  that  moment  ,  she  knew  her  daughter’s  life  was  much  more  important  than  her  work  or  marriage.  or  even  the  lives  of  whatever  other  children  he  kept  as  lab  rats.  she  swears  she  won’t  look  for  him  ,  won’t  tell  anybody  of  what  was  actually  happening.  she’ll  tell  their  daughter  that  it  was  all  a  dream.  all  these  things  if  it  meant  her  daughter  could  be  okay.  he  tells  the  guards  to  stand  down  ,  &  tells  her  that  he’ll  know  if  she  tells  anyone.  she  clutches  her  daughter  closer.  i  know  ,  she  says.  he  allows  her  to  leave  ,  knowing  that  she  would  never  risk  her  daughter’s  safety  by  telling  anybody  about  what  was  happening.  she’s  consumed  with  guilt  at  this  choice  ,  at  the  knowledge  her  daughter  will  never  have  a  father  &  that  she  left  all  those  children  to  suffer.  but  her  daughter  is  safe.  &  that’s  all  that  matters  to  her  now.
she  loses  her  married  name   &  returns  back  to  cynthia  baker.   her  daughter’s  surname  is  changed  to  her  maiden  name  as  well  ,  &  she  knows  that  on  his  end  ,  he’ll  try  to  erase  any  connection  she  had  to  hawkins  lab  &  him.  she  can’t  afford  to  move  away  from  hawkins  despite  desperately  wanting  too  ,  &  she  knows  she  needs  to  get  her  daughter  actually  acquainted  with  the  outside  world.  the  lab  was  practically  all  she  knew  ,  but  now  carolyn  was  never  going  back.  not  if  she  can  control  it.  she  remarries  soon  after  their  divorce  is  finalized  ,  around  carolyn’s  eighth birthday.  he’s  a  nice  man  ,   much  nicer  than  her  previous  husband.  he  has  a  nice  lucrative  job  ,  &  he  cares  about  carolyn.  she  marries  him  for  security.  she  &  her  daughter  become  part  of  the  davis  family.  she  falls  in  love  with  her  second  husband  ,  rick  ,  eventually.  he  treats  her  much  better  than  martin  ever  did.  he  calls  carolyn  his  daughter.  she  loves  him  a  little  more  for  that.  despite  her  new  life  ,  she  can’t  help  but  constantly  remember  the  one  she  escaped.  he’s  still  out  there  ,  hurting  those  children  &  she  can’t  do  anything  about  it.  not  if  she  wants  her  life  to  be  ruined   as  well  as  her  daughters.  hopefully  ,  she  thinks  ,  hopefully  someone  will  end  his  terror.  she’ll  be  the  first  one  in  line  to  give  that  hero  whatever  they  please.  for   her  ex  husband  is  a  monster  ,   &  he  won’t  stop  being  one  until  he  dies.  hopefully  she  can   be  the  one  who  kills  him.  for  her  ,  for  carolyn  ,  &  for  the  children  he  hurt.  that’ll  be  justice.  it’s  what  he  deserves.  he  deserves  to  suffer.

Thoughts on Stranger Things 3
So, I binge-watched all of Season 3 pretty much immediately after it came out, and I wanted to let it sit for a bit before I put my thoughts up on it. Warning for spoilers beneath the cut!
First of, let me just say that, while I do think it’s my least favourite season so far, I still did really love most of it! Stranger Things is my favourite show, and I’m of the firm belief that even at its weakest, it’s stronger than most tv shows.
So, I’ll start with what I didn’t like, then end with what I did.
First thing I didn’t like is that Hopper is still a massive dick, especially towards Mike. I’m still very annoyed that he has yet to face any consequences for selling El out to Brenner at the end of Season 1. Sure, he ends this season supposedly dead (though I think it’s fairly obvious that he’s “the American” mentioned in the post-credits scene, especially given how we didn’t see a body), but the fact that he was willing to hand a child (who would later become his daughter) over to the man who abused her for her entire life and hasn’t had to deal with any kind of fallout from that really rubs me the wrong way. As does lying to Mike about his grandmother in this season. Overall, the fact that Hopper acts like he’s the only one who cares about El really pisses me off.
The next thing is a particular aspect of Max and El’s interaction. Specifically, the fact that Max acts like Mike is trying to control El when he’s really not. He’s worried about her, sure, but at worst he’s saying “Look, maybe we don’t wanna push her limits”, which given everything that’s happened is perfectly understandable. I’m also not a fan of the whole “Mike and El break up” thing, because it requires Mike acting out-of-character and not just telling El the truth. Honestly, the better way to do that whole subplot would have been for Mike to let El know exactly what happened when they met at Starcourt, El to understand, but decide that she also wants to hang out with Max the way that Mike hangs out with Lucas, Will and Dustin. That way, we still get the Max and El friendship, but nobody’s characterization is sacrificed for it. Hell, we could have even gotten a couple of scenes in place of the scenes revolving around the OOC stuff that could have been, for example, Mike and Max interacting and actually becoming better friends through El.
The final big thing that really bugged me was the ending. Specifically, Joyce moving. Don’t get me wrong, I 100% get why she’s upset, but she’s uprooting two children who have been through major traumatic ordeals so she doesn’t have to deal with her own trauma. It’s especially awful in El’s case, because the girl just lost her father (however much of a dick he might be), and now she’s essentially being forced into leaving the only other people who have ever been kind to her. I have no doubt that Joyce is gonna look after El with love and care, but making El do that for her own benefit is kind of terrible. Just...please, Season 4, get here soon so we can bring the Byers and El back and undo this whole thing, because it was a bad idea.
Now that my three big problems have been addressed, I’m gonna end this post on a list of things I did like!
Once again, the acting is fantastic across the board, especially from Millie.
The stuff with Steve, Robin, Dustin and Erica was all fantastic!
Very glad that Billy is dead (not a fan of the whole “redemption equals death” thing they were going for with him because, although he did stop the Mind Flayer from possessing El, that wasn’t enough to make up for the fact that he was a racist, abusive asshole, but I’m just focusing on the fact that he’s dead more than the circumstances around his death)
I’m glad we got the Karen and Billy stuff out of the way with as quickly as possible. I get why Karen is tempted, but it’s still squicky and so I’m glad they handled it quickly and didn’t actually go any further with it than her being tempted.
I’m seeing a lot of dislike for the Neverending Story song, but I was into it!
Alexei was fantastic and I was super sad that he died, but in a good way!
Seeing Mr Clarke is always a plus! I’m really hoping he gets brought into the fold properly before the show finishes!
There’s a whole bunch more, but those are the ones I can think of right now!

stranger things s4 trailer thoughts nobody asked for:
IT’S BEEN 84 YEARS! (ok nearly 3) I can’t believe we waited nearly 3 years for this and the fact that it’s going to be twice as long definitely makes up for it! I just hope the season quality is good! It certainly looks good!
WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS THAT MONSTER?!!!!-
IT LOOKS LIKE THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. IS IT THE BOSS OF THE MIND FLAYER OR IS IT JUST ONE OF THE MANY HORRORS IN THE UPSIDE DOWN? (I always have so many questions about that place). I AM HERE FOR THE THEORY ABOUT ONE OF THE NUMBERS BEING THIS ONE. I THINK IT MIGHT BE CONNECTED TO THAT GUY WHO ORIGINALLY OWNED THE HOUSE THOUGH. ALSO FOUND OUT THAT GUY IS 90% PROSTHETICS LIKE OK THAT IS TALENT. AMAZING PEOPLE WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES.
ALL OF THE GROUPS! :’(
If there is one of many things I love about ST, it’s when you get all these different groups investigating parts of the same thing. It also gives us different characters bonding that you wouldn’t expect.
Nancy and Robin
THESE TWO INTERACTING WAS ON MY LIST AND IM ACTUALLY GETTING IT! YES! I mean, last season, Robin was talking about the Nancy she had in her head and Steve told her that’s not her and now with this season her and Nancy are going to bond! It’s the same hype I felt with El and Max becoming friends.
Joyce and Murray (and hopper) aka OPERATION: SAVE HOPPER
LET’S F***ING GO! JOYCE IS GOING TO SAVE HER MAN AND I GET TO ENJOY WHAT IS GOING TO BE NO DOUBT, A CHAOTIC AND ENTERTAINING DUO THAT IS THESE TWO. JOYCE IS GOING TO GET SH*T DONE. SHE’S ABOUT TO GO FULL ON LEIA SAVING HAN (guess that makes murray chewie). I AM HYPED. I HOPE THERE IS LOADS TO SEE THAT THE TRAILER LEFT OUT AND SHE IS GETTING GOOD FOCUSED. MURRAY IS ALWAYS A DELIGHT. I WILL ENJOY SEEING YOU THIRD WHEEL AGAIN.
MAX:
So it looks like Max will be mourning B*lly... Look, they did a good job showing how he became how he was, but they failed on the redemption part.  Yes, he died but they didn’t actually show him realising he was wrong or him doing better (like they did perfectly with Steve) with Max, so idc really...I just don’t like him ok (also still bitter how the fandom treated K*li badly more than him and the fact there is more merch of him than Joyce out there. I don’t like him ok). I do care about poor Max though, I mean seeing all that is pretty traumatising. I hope it’s not just all about him and focused in general on how she is doing. I mean they’re going to be showing the affects of everything with everyone,  which is great, cause there is no way they go through that and not feel fine after... MAX FLOATING THOUGH. I definitely think it’s connected to that creepy monster. ALSO, THAT CLOCK FREAKS ME OUT. I HOPE MAX WILL BE OK.
WILL AND EL
I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THESE TWO, OK. I WAS ROBBED OF THEM MEETING, PLEASE GIVE ME LOADS OF SCENES BETWEEN THESE TWO BEFORE MIKE ARRIVES AND EL GOES AWAY TO THE LAB. GIVE ME BYERS SIBLINGS. I AM WORRIED THOUGH THEY COULD END UP FIGHTING CAUSE OF TRIANGLE STUFF (GETTING TO THAT). GIVE ME WILL HELPING EL IN SCHOOL, WILL STANDING UP FOR EL AGAINST BULLIES. EL STANDING UP FOR WILL. I HAVE WAITED TOO LONG FOR THIS.
ELEVEN CAN’T CATCH A BREAK!
SHE’S IN SCHOOL, ROCKING THE SAME HAIRSTYLE AS HER MUM (THE CUTEST THING) AND JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT HER DEALING WITH BULLIES IS BAD (If she had her powers...) STRANGE(R) SH*T IS HAPPENING AGAIN AND HER FRIENDS IN HAWKINS ARE IN DANGER AND THE ARMY AND OWENS CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND IS BEING BEGGED FOR HER HELP. 1. ELEVEN IS POWERFUL AND I AM SICK OF THE GATE BEING OPENED AFTER ALL THE TROUBLE SHE WENT TO SHUT IT 1. SHE IS ONLY 14/15. YES, SHE HAS POWERS, BUT SHE IS STILL SO YOUNG AND TRAUMATISED.
THE FACT THAT SHE WILLINGLY GOES BACK TO THE LAB...LIKE THIS POOR GIRL. I SWEAR, OF OWENS IS ABOUT TO DISAPPOINT ME BECAUSE HE’S IN CAHOOTS WITH BRENNER... EL IS TOO GOOD FOR HER WORLD. DOING THIS FOR HER FRIENDS. SHE HAS HER HEAD SHAVED AGAIN (Im assuming it helps the with the whole scanning brain thingy if there is less hair).
THE FACT WE ARE GETTING EL FLASHBACKS TOO! (I’m guessing being back in that lab will make her revisit her trauma...eeeee.) I AM SO WORRIED THAT MAYBE BABY EL (I won’t complain about the cgi they did pretty good with what they have ok.) KILLED THE PREVIOUS NUMBERS. LIKE...DID BRENNER GET HER WOUND UP? DID HE WANT TO DISPOSE OF THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE USELESS TO HIM BUT EL HE FOUND THE MOST IMPORTANT AND DECIDED TO GET RID OF THEM AND SEE WHAT SHE COULD DO? SHE WAS COVERED IN BLOOD! AND THERE IS THAT SHORT TRAILER FROM THE RAINBOW ROOM. THIS IS SO SAD. WE REALLY ARE SEEING THE THINGS SHE WENT THROUGH. IF BRENNER IS BACK I WANT HER TO TAKE HIM DOWN AND FOR HIM TO REALISE HE HAS NO POWER OVER HER ANYMORE AND FOR HER NOT TO CALL HIM PAPA.
NEW CHARACTERS
I do like the look at two specific new characters so far. That D&D playing guitar in the upside down guy and Jonathan’s friend argyle.
Hopper
HOPPER IS ALIVE. HE’S GOING THROUGH IT, BUT HE’S ALIVE, FIGHTING DEMOGORGONS ETC. DON’T WORRY, HOP, YOUR WIFE IS ON HER WAY.
Will
There wasn’t as much Will in that trailer. The only stuff we got of Will was shots of him in school with El, with Mike and co and also when he’s looking very unhappy about Mike and El at the skating rink. I am hoping that they are keeping much bigger stuff secret.  First of all, I think it’s pretty obvious now he’s gay. From the skating rink shot, he definitely might have feelings for Mike.
Next thing...WILL BYERS POWERS. Listen, if Will doesn’t have powers, I shall be disappointed. It’s one of the main things I want. Also, all this time I thought he could have electric powers, but then fire powers are brought up and I can’t believe I didn’t get that. I mean, first of all, there is that one shot of a care on fire and someone watching that COULD be Will, then there is the fact Will’s character in D&D shoots fireballs out of his hands and there was that whole convo in S1 in a flashback about being able protect himself or his friends with powers. I reaaaaally want that to be foreshadowing. HERE FOR WILL AND HIS FIRE POWERS. HIGH CHANCE I SHALL BE HYPING MYSELF UP JUST TO GET DISAPPOINTED. Also there is talk about the fact this is set in March and it’s Will’s birthday in March etc... IDK, just hoping this means something and maybe finally he is getting powers.\
FINALLY....MY MOST FAVOURITE...JOPPER
IT’S THE SEASON OF CANON JOPPER, SO HELP ME. JOYCE WILL RESCUE HER MAN, THEY WILL MAKE ME EMOTIONAL WITH THEIR REUNION AND THEY WILL KISS SO I CAN GET THEM BEING A CANON POWER COUPLE IN S5. THEY HAVE A DATE TO GO TO.
ALSO, I AM HERE FOR THE JONATHAN IS HOPPER’S SON THEORY. I SAW THAT ABOUT THEN REMEMBERED I’D SEEN THIS THEORY YEARS BACK. OOOOOO I LOVE THIS DRAMA BUT THEN I WONDER ABOUT THE FALL OUT FROM IT. HONESTLY, I AM. HERE FOR THIS THEORY. JOPPER TO BE CANON OK.
IM DONE.
