There's this show on Netflix called "OLD ENOUGH" where japanese toddlers are sent on simple errands to help their parents and you get to see their little adventures. That show is just so wholesome.

Looking at Wish, I just keep thinking of the people who called Frozen a 'lazy movie' because they used really similar face shapes for Anna, Elsa and their mother.
Look at the ice and snow effects in that movie. Listen to the music. Enjoy the comedy. Remember that it isn't even close to the beauty of Disney's best and yet it still remains a work of art.
Now look at Wish as the monkey's paw curls. Hey- at least they use different face shapes.

tbh we don't talk about the depiction of generational trauma in young royals enough. we see kristina lecture wille multiple times on the importance of keeping up an image, and how mistakes reflect on the entire family. erik, while a more positive figure in wille's life and more aware of his brother's anxiety, recites the same thing practically word for word. even when he's teasing wille about having a crush and encouraging him to hang out with simon, erik still tells wille to put on a persona for the rest of the school and mingle. in wille's fight with simon, he blurts out the same bs about his family's reputation etc. etc., but instantly regrets it when he starts to lose simon.
kristina's probably had the speech she teaches to her children drilled into her from a young age, since both she and erik had known from the start that they were the heirs. wille, as the "spare," has more doubts about these values and priorities, shown when he argues that he just wants a normal life in episode one. he actively pushes back against his family's demands right up until erik's death. wille's always idolized and admired his brother, so when the title of crown prince and its responsibilities are passed to him, so is the pressure to adhere to the crown's tradition.
the show does a great job of showing that even though wille really, really wants to break free for simon and for himself, all it takes is one short conversation with his mother from the cycle to drag him right back in. generational trauma is never easy to break free from, much less when you're an anxiety-ridden teenager with the weight of a country on your shoulders, unprocessed grief from losing your brother, and on top of that, the added trauma of just being outed in the worst way possible. kristina even tells him about her own "unfortunate romance" that ended because she was taught to choose the crown over everything else.

Oh wow. Disney cancelled Willow. Y'know. The. Butch4butch lesbians. Knight and Princess. Fucking amazing rep, brilliant fantasy setting. Fabulous storytelling.
Yeah. I'm not surprised..... I remember seeing a clip weeks before I started it and immediately wondering how long it'd take zo have the confirmation it's cancelled. I'm just so tired. Every. Time. And I mean EVERY time we have sapphic representation on a show, it gets cancelled, censored, or receives massive backlash. I can't name a SINGLE wlw rep (centric!!!) show that wasn't cancelled. Doctor Who, maybe. Wow. One.
I can name at least ten shows that were cancelled off the top of my head. In the last year. I'm tired.
Fuck Disney. Fuck Netflix. Fuck every single person who cancels wlw rep. We constantly hear that our stories don't want to be heard. Thanks. Apparently queer women only matter as a fetishised form of entertainment for men or as a background and side character. Thanks. Definitely does GREAT things for people's self-worth.
Representation matters!

Okay I haven't found any sketchbook-able songs in TTPD so you guys are safe for now. However. That is such a Johanna album to me.
The Prophecy in the light of Johanna thinking everyone she loves, she either loses or they choose to abandon her
Florida!!! about her moving from Tofoten to Trolberg to avoid the emotional turmoil, the unresolved matters, the memories she should have of that place but somewhy doesn't. And then So Long, London when she moved away from Trolberg and to the wilderness to raise her daughter away from everything that hurt her.
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived. You know why. He didn't measure up in any measure of a man.

hot take: i'm glad the avatar tv show, animated movies, etc. are happening (as much as i dislike the concepts they've decided on and don't entirely trust the creators :/) bc it'll introduce atla to another generation. i think yes, lots of ppl will take the new content as canon, but the time gap between korra & now means a lot of ppl will also consider only the original canon. overall more ppl (like in my younger sister's generation) will get to watch and fall in love w the original atla
sorry but i could not disagree with you more. if anything i wish i had one of those memory wiping devices from men in black so i could go around to everyone whose terrible fucking takes i've seen over the course of my life and wipe the memory of them ever watching atla or even the knowledge of its existence from them so they can never post or say shit about avatar ever again.
