I was looking over your posts for LU, and if you don’t mind, I’d love to share some of my own random thoughts with you! I hope that’s okay 👉👈
After I read your “Humans aren't just round-eared Hylians?” post I have had,, many thoughts 👀 One random difference between humans and Hylians I thought about was the possibilities of varying strength,,, You briefly mentioned how Hylians seemed lighter than they seemed to Guide!Reader, and let me tell you, it was such a small detail, but I was transFIXED. I have this image of humans/Guide!Reader just being naturally stronger than the average Hylians - and it made me think of scenarios of the Reader just effortlessly hauling around two Links on their shoulders like sacks of potatoes- And them also picking up things that are supposed to be really heavy with ease! Like, Four would make a longsword, and Reader picks it up out of curiosity, expecting it to be really heavy, but it’s actually not that bad?? (Four in the background: 🧍)
If the Reader is already pretty strong (and maybe even has a profession in fighting, like a boxer or something,, [I might be projecting slightly—]), then ooo 👀 I can see there being this one time where a bunch of monsters ambush the Chain, and as everyone is fighting with the Reader giving them advice and whatnot, a Lizalfos managed to slip past everyone and sprint towards the Reader to attack them. The others are panicking because they won’t be able to reach the monster in time, but just as the Lizalfos raised its sword, one single punch from the Reader sent it flying back into the fray, knocking it into a Moblin. Reader is just standing there with their fist still in the air like “👁️👄👁️ h u h … whY ARE YOU GUYS STARING, YOU’RE STILL FIGHTING—”
In your newest post about the Guide!Reader’s voice, you mentioned how some entities could hear them, and I don’t know if he would, but I think it’d be kinda funny if Ganon and all of his other reincarnations could hear the Reader talking to Link- I’m not sure if he remembers his past lives, but if he does and hears/recognises Reader’s voice, I love the image of him thinking “Oh god, THIS guy again??” Because Reader WILL clown on him-

Guide!Reader: Uh-huh, sure, bold words for someone whose skin looks like a prehistoric riverbed. :|

As I was writing all this, I had to think to myself, “Huh,, Guide!Reader doesn’t die when they fall into lava, aren’t really affected by harsher temperatures and winds, and also can swim against strong currents. They’re environment-resistant basically. But there’s bound to be at least one weakness to it all, right?” I did come up with said weakness, and I think it’s kinda basic, BUT one idea I had was that because Guide!Reader is so resistant to the natural elements of Hyrule, they are conversely quite weak to unnatural causes in turn. If they get injured, say they get cut with a knife by a Bokoblin, then that wound would take much longer to heal than it should. Any injuries that the Reader sustains in Hyrule are harder to heal (which I feel like could make some interesting angst,, 👀); their injuries would take more magic to completely heal them, or have more healing potions to drink. I also thought of the Reader being very vulnerable to any sort of poison- Like, if they get a pinch or two (or three) of strong poison in their system, they get knocked out for like two days 💀
So basically, Guide!Reader is very resistant to the environment, possibly quite strong, but does not have any good constitution,,
[On another note, maybe it’s just a me thing, but I personally love the thought of Wind looking up to the Reader as like a big brother figure,,]

YES!! that's the weakness/drawback I was thinking abt for Humans in Hyrule, while yes their environment isn't that effective on us, (i like to use “inside a video game” as the reason bc i think its neat)
humans are notoriously fragile in our own world already - we get sick, we get acid-reflux/throw up from bad food/food poisoning, etc.
so it makes sense we’d be more sensitive to this new environment, but even if we got adjusted,
we’re more external-proof, not internal-proof
(u know that's another reason why it works for Hylians and not Humans, we aren’t automatically healed by food, but their world does, and even in botw/totk when u have “dubious” food, its never inedible, its just useless to eat, so technically Hylians can kind of eat most anything off of that logic, like there is no such thing as “bad food” for them)
and u could take this either way tbh,
like we’re either entirely resistant to magic/dont take to it well bc our world didnt have it so potions/fairies don't work and we have to heal naturally
or just yeah, its like ur in a new country tbh, new germs/nature/food/etc. and u def cant guarantee u wont get a little sick from that
this would definitely include genuine poison!
bro the amount of WORRY the Links would feel after realizing the human guide guy who’s physically here now can barely handle their food??
Wild’s making a thorough list of what foods work for you and what don't, like safe foods to go back on, including recipes,
the way Time/Wars would absolutely be willing to take little detours/stop by towns more to make sure you have the right food you can eat,
and even tho Wild’s cooking, Sage is constantly testing for poison, like the dish itself, the herbs/plants, every ingredient needs to be extra safe even by Hylian standards (like not eating adventurous stuff like pufferfish or smth that could possibly have poison if cooked wrong/not enough etc)
that is to say, even if Wild makes a new recipe/other meal, he always has a backup safe meal to give you instead on those nights, and just way too many in general (yes he knows it doesn't buff ur health but he cant help his Hylians instincts to stuff the hurt person’s face with food ok??)

he has all the healing magic in the world and the one man he wants to help the most, for keeping him from being lonely on his adventure/looking out for him/being on his side no matter what, now he finds out he can’t even help them??

(should I get into cultural differences between humans/hylians like humans being more openly cuddly/affectionate? like how in humans are space orcs fandom they acknowledge its unusual for us to “packbond” so easily to so many different species? and how this could possibly apply to not only Hylians but any Friend-shaped creatures across the Hyrules?? ..nah. I’ll save that for another post)

Hi! This may come across as a dumb question, but I wanted to write my own PMD:EoS fic, but I’m kind of lost on how I want to organize my thoughts and the plot. Additionally, I get new ideas and then I end up struggling with what I want to do. How did you organize things for your story?
This isn't a dumb question at all! It's something I've struggled with for a long time as a writer, and I'd be happy to share what I've come up with to solve my fight with story organization! I’ll try to speak coherently, but this is something I’m really passionate about, so I might ramble a bit, haha. Keep in mind that this is what works for me, and what will work for you may be very different. Take from this post what serves you well and ditch the rest :>
Organizational Tools
You can use pretty much anything to organize your story— I’ve used everything from loose printer paper in storage clipboards to expansive Google Docs that are hundreds of pages long in the past. But what I’ve found that really works for me is an app called Notion. You may have heard of it— it’s really popular with productivity enthusiasts and small business owners, but it works like a dream for organizing creative projects! There’s a bit of a learning curve, but you can find a lot of templates out there for free that work really well if you don’t want to set things up yourself.
This is how my Notion page for TPiaG was set up:
The “Cheat Sheets” dropdown list was full of character sheets, links to Bulbapedia articles I’d refer to while outlining or writing, and also my completed outline. “Fun Stuff” was full of memes and jokes about the characters, an empty page that I’d start filling once I received kind comments on my fic, as well as ideas for additional stories relating to the AU— stuff like oneshots and possible sequels or diverging AUs. Fun fact: this is where I first wrote down my idea for The Present is a Gift: Paradox Edition AU!
“Chapters to Write” and “Chapters I’ve Written” were dropdown lists where I divided my outline into little sub-dropdown lists in “Chapters to Write”, and everytime I wrote a chapter, I would move it over to “Chapters I’ve Written”. Nothing is as reassuring when you’re stuck in the middle of writing a nearly 60k word fanfic as seeing the chapters slowly migrate to the right.
Organizing the Story
Outlining is a big part of my organization process, so I’ll be talking a fair bit about it. The first part of any story is your premise / core idea (it sounds like you’ve already got some of your own, so I won’t discuss coming up with those). The next step is brainstorming what you want to revolve around that premise. I already knew the characters fairly well, so what I did for TPiaG is write out a bunch of ideas for scenes on scraps of notebook paper and start arranging them on a table in different ways. I eventually settled on an order of events (many of which ended up cut for clarity in the actual fic), and then I started structuring them into chapters.
How I structure chapters is inspired by the Kishotenketsu structure that is used fairly often in Asian storytelling. I divide each chapter into 5 parts: an Introduction that provides a starting point for the chapter, Development that builds on and adds context or tension to the introduction, a Twist that causes a new perspective on either the situation, characters, or something else in the story, a Resolution that helps wrap things up in a satisfying way, and then a Hook that leads the reader to want to read the next chapter. This is a structuring method that works way better for me than the Three Acts or the Hero’s Journey— I prefer the stronger focus on character vs. plot— and so I try to use it as often as possible. Here’s an example from my outline (if you’ve read TPiaG, you may notice some differences between it and the actual published chapters of the fic! It’s chapter 4 instead of chapter 3, for one thing!)
Organizing Characters
I’ll be honest— I didn’t fill out character sheets like I should have for this project. I kind of just went with the flow as I wrote them. Twig and Grovyle are the only characters who got sheets at all, and Grovyle still only got a half of one. However, I do have a blank copy of a character sheet I can share as reference!
I think most of this is pretty self-explanatory— but if anyone wants clarification on anything or what goes into the individual note sections, let me know! This is what the topmost part of Twig’s character sheet bio looks like:
The Torment of the Human Mind, or: How to Deal with Idea Overload
This is an ongoing struggle for me. I’ve mentioned having ADHD in the past, but it really turns idea generation and shiny object syndrome into a purgatory of unspeakable proportions. Before TPiaG, I had never finished a creative project because I would constantly ping-pong back and forth between newer and funner ideas, inevitably abandoning WIPs, come back to them for a few weeks at a time, and then dart off to the next thing. This feels awful because you never finish anything when you’re stuck in this cycle, and having all those ideas as open tabs in your brain is exhausting.
My greatest advice for figuring out what you want to do and then doing it? Figure out a fun idea— maybe not the funnest idea, but an idea you enjoy and can create with your current skills and a good helping of hard work— and then commit to it with a story priority hierarchy. Every time you want to work on another idea, you have to work on the idea you committed to first for 30 minutes (or a different block of time, whatever works for you!). After that allotted time is up, you’re free to work on whatever other projects you like— but you have to start at the top of the priority hierarchy. That way, you still get work done on your #1 project, but you’re not restricted to it.
Alternatively: Write until that priority project is done. You can make notes on ideas, you can make Pinterest boards for them, and you can make playlists— but you can only write for your priority project. I’d recommend doing this with a deadline in mind. Something like Camp NaNoWriMo or a similar month-long challenge. Novelty is an important part of my workflow! I get it. But for some people, bouncing back and forth between ideas is detrimental to their ability to focus / write, and committing to a single project at a time is extremely beneficial. I thought that I was someone who needed total freedom to work on any of my projects, but it turns out that being handcuffed to a project and a word count goal for a month was exactly what I needed to finish my first ever complete manuscript.

HAPPY (late) HALLOWEEN!!!
Here's my gift for @gemini-forest for the @rottmnt-secret-gifting!

Leonardo was a soldier. He wasn't always that, but it's what he was forced to grow up as. When the Krang ripped themselves through that portal years and years ago, he had to let go of all his past dreams and childhood wishes. Then when the people around him started to slowly dwindle, he had to harden up and become the leader everyone left needed.
What Leonardo became was someone worthy of trying to fix his mistakes, someone that his family would be proud of. Someone who could actually be forgiven.
Now here he is, in a healed past, staring in a mirror and wondering if a sheet was too weak of a costume for trick or treating.
Yeah, he was going trick or treating at the ripe old age of forty. The things you do when you get yanked twenty odd years back.
It's his fault, really, that he agreed to this. It was already bad enough that all of his brothers walked up to him one afternoon last week with big pleading eyes. Then they roped CJ into this, weaponizing the face Leonardo literally watched grow up since he was an infant. Then he caved.
Now the night is here. Spirits, this feels so stupid.
Resigning himself to hiding under a sheet the entire night, Leonardo throws one over his shoulder and walks out of his room.
As expected, everyone is gathered in the lobby as they put on the finishing touches. Well, almost everyone. Leo and Donnie, who are already dressed up in Anakin and Spock outfits respectively, are too busy arguing to help out elsewhere.
"Star Trek attempts to replicate what technology would look like in the distant future based around actual science! The entire franchise is built upon science! Star Wars just makes up their own rules whenever they need some new random plot device when they’ve run out of ideas again."
Leo scoffs as he swings the lightsaber on his shoulder. “What you don’t understand is the fact that Anakin is top tier as a character and him existing is why you're already wrong."
Leonardo walks over to Mikey and Raph, who are finishing up the dragon tail to Mikey’s costume? “They're still fighting about this?”
Raph, already fully decked out in a complete Elvis costume, snorts at the question. "Are ya kidding? I don't think they've ever stopped about this. They just put it on pause."
"THEY ARE NOT "BASICALLY THE SAME THING" GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE NARDO!"
“Annnd there they go.”
As expected, Donnie runs after Leo, who has jumped behind Leonardo, the second living shield in the Hamato household. Leonardo grabs Donnie by the shell as he runs by, lifting him up as he still kicks in the air.
“Hey,” he says. “Weren’t you taught to not murder your brothers?”
Donnie looks up in thought as his kicking ceases. “Hmm, I don’t think so. Put me down, maybe?”
Leonardo gives him a tilted smirk. “Yeah I’m not that dumb you little twit.”
“You’re only defending him cause you are literally the same person!” Donnie once again thrashes in Leonardo’s grip towards Leo. Leo, the conniving little culprit that he is, snickers from the safe-zone still behind Leonardo.
“Nah,” Leo says, stepping back, “it’s cause we’ve got equal tastes.” Leo’s eyes find the white cloth over Leonardo’s shoulder. “Oh speaking of, is that what you’re wearing tonight?! Is it a Princess Leia dress to match!?”
Leonardo raises an eye as he looks down at Leo. “If I were to match you, I’d dress up as Vader.”
Leo nods slowly. “Truue.”
At that moment, Raph finally finishes helping Mikey with the dragon tail, leaving Mikey to swish around the room as he stands.
“Well, what is the costume?” he asks.
Leonardo grimaces as the attention is now fully focused on him. He would have preferred showing the costume when it was too late to turn back, but he’s still new to being ganged up on by a bunch of teenagers.
“Oh it’s just uh…” Leonardo puts down Donnie and unfurls the sheet, throwing it over his head. The sheet covers him up until it ends at his knees. He throws his arms up as if he were standing like a scarecrow. “This.”
He can’t see out of the sheet, but the silence he gets in return is very telling.
“Okay,” Leo starts. “I take back what I said about equal tastes. His are rancid.” Leo emits a small “ow”, likey from Raph smacking him for being rude.
“That’s what you’re wearing!?” Leonardo grimaces as he lifts the sheet up to face an appalled Mikey. “And after all the effort that I put into my costume?! I can accept laziness but this is just wrong.”
“Oh come on,” Leonardo complains. “It’s a classic costume!” An idea pops into his head. “Plus! CJ’s never seen costumes like these, it’s good for him to understand what older costumes looked like!”
“Hm,” Donnie activates his ninpo and makes a ninpo megaphone in his hand. “Let’s get Junior’s official opinion then.” He turns it on with a screech. “ CASEY JUNIOR! YOUR FATHER IS MAKING BAD LIVELIHOOD CHOICES! FIX HIM!”
Leonardo rips the sheet off, face heating up. “Again,” he hisses, “I am not his father. I just helped raise him after Casey died. We’re not even similar biologically.”
Leo snorts. “Says the guy who was raised by a rat.”
“That isn’t the same thing!” Sure, he raised the kid, but he knew CJ didn’t actually consider him a real father figure. He just took over for Casey Sr when she died. He ran the kid ragged when they were surviving through the end of the world, he wouldn’t be surprised if there was some discontentment running around in CJ’s head.
The curtain for the tv room parts, revealing Splinter in a king’s costume, complete with a robe and scepter and everything, and CJ dressed up in a green witch’s hat and cape.
“What was that about ‘bad livelihood choices?’” CJ asks.
Leo gestures angrily at the sheet. “This lame excuse of a turtle was planning on going out wearing just a sheet as a costume!”
“It’s a good costume!” Leonardo looks over to try and salvage his lazy choices, but he loses all hope when he sees the appalled look on Splinter’s face.
“What son of mine chooses to wear something so tasteless!?” Leonardo’s face heats up in unexpected shame, and he’s pretty sure he hears snickering behind him.
“Oh, come on,” he says “It’s a classic! Case,” CJ straightens his back slightly, and Leonardo feels his chest grow tighter, “c’mon, what do you think?”
CJ pinches his mouth then sends him a pitying smile. “It’s… less than I was expecting.”
“What.”
As the rest of his younger family starts cackling behind him, CJ gestures to all of them. “Well, I remember you telling me when I was younger that you guys dressed up in really detailed costumes that you spent weeks making or preparing.” CJ points at the sheet. “And I’m pretty sure you just pulled that out from your laundry.”
Leonardo scowls at him and finally shrugs off the sheet. “How come you didn’t forget stupid stuff like that like a normal child?”
A heavy arm lands around his shoulder and Raph pulls him into a side hug. “Hey, cheer up! I got a spare outfit from last year you can borrow for the night.”
“Can’t I just put on one of your flannels, call myself a lumberjack, and we call it even?”
Mikey jumps up on the back of his shell. “Nope! You know the rules. We all have to wear a costume when we’re trick or treating!”
Leonardo sighs. “Alright. Show me what you got, Raph.” Great. This is just great.

Once Leonardo was forced into a cowboy costume of all things, everyone grabbed their pillowcases and hiked up to the surface. They made their way over to the MOMA where they met up with April, dressed up in a surgeon’s outfit, and Casey Sr, donned head to toe in all the gear of a famous female wrestler that Leonardo forgot the name of.
There was a delay in getting to the nearest apartment sector of Manhattan since Casey and Raph had a wrestling competition upon seeing each other. Leonardo thought about breaking them up but CJ kept cheering on Casey, so he let it go.
Keeping CJ happy was the reason why he even agreed to go up, so he’ll focus on just that for the night. That was worth every moment of embarrassment from being seen in a costume.
As they kept moving, Leonardo found that it wasn’t a hard feat to accomplish. The second they turned a corner and spotted groups of kids running around in costumes and decorations like intricate jack o'lanterns set down on porches and fake spiderwebs all around, CJ’s eyes lit up. Everything’s filled with orange and red, probably the two colors Case knew best, but the environment isn’t oppressive at all. It’s warm, inviting, comfortable, things he only had fragments of when growing up.
And the kids. Leonardo had never considered himself the type to be fond of children, but the sheer number of children that flooded the streets wearing silly costumes makes everything more alive. The apocalypse felt so dead when their numbers were already dwindling, but now he’s recalling the days when Cassandra first found CJ, forcing them all to experience a breath of life for the first time in years.
Then Leonardo has to do a double take, because are some of these kids…?
A little girl in a poofy pink dress runs by on their right yelling with glee and carrying a candy bag almost bigger than her. She almost trips over the sidewalk with a yelp, but Raph catches her just before she hits the ground.
“Whoa, I gotchu kiddo!” The little girl’s eyes are shut tight, but she opens them as she realizes that she never hit the ground. She turns to look at Raph. “You gotta watch yourself with it being dark out here and all.”
The little girl nods with a fanged smile. “Sorry mister!” She wiggles in Raph’s hand and he puts her back on the ground. “I’m not used to a big dress like this. It’s so big that it’s covering my tail!” The little girl lifts up the dress slightly enough so that a definitely-connected-to-her-body reptile tail can be seen sliding back and forth on the ground.
Raph gasps with extra emotion. “You have a tail?! So do I!” Raph turns around and brandishes his tail, the behemoth it is in comparison to her’s.
“NO WAY!”
Leonardo shakes his head fondly at the little yokai girl’s interactions with Raph. “No way.”
Donnie looks up at Leonardo. “I’m guessing there wasn’t much of a yokai-human bond in the future?”
“Not in the beginning,” Leonardo elaborates. He watches as CJ swoops in and helps direct the kid back to her group of yokai friends. “As the years went on, the humans started to realize that we existed and were trying to fight for our lives back, so we decided to form an alliance with them.” The little girl high-fives another kid in the group, a human boy in a superman costume. “I never expected it to happen here.”
“Yes yes, the miracles that spawn from an unforeseen until time-travel-shenanigans alien invasion, or something. Yin and yang, the good you find in the evil and that jazz.”
Leonardo scoffs. “I always wanted a normal life for him, one where he could actually live up here and go to high school and find his own way in life and be happy.”
Leo suddenly slides into the conversation in such a way that makes Leonardo narrow his eyes. “Oh, you wanted the best life for Casey?”
“Stop.”
“That sounds like something a DAD WOULD WANT!”
Leonardo leans down over him. “I know what you are.”
Leo tilts his head innocently. “Anakin Skywalker?”
“A JACKASS!”
A thwap on the back of Leonardo’s leg forces him to cut the conversation short. He looks down and sees Splinter rubbing his tail.
“Could we please not argue when we could be spending this time trick or treating?!” Splinter complains. “The one time of year we get free candy and you boys are wasting it!”
Leo rolls his eyes and holds up his hands. “Fine, but I'm not done with you, old man!” Leo runs off before Leonardo can argue with him or attempt to wrangle his head.
It takes a few more minutes for them to finally reach their first stop, an apartment with a skeleton wreath hanging over the door. It’s a quaint spot, but Donnie likely already knew the contents of the candy inside; peanut free, optional gummy option, possibly a handful of fidget toys. Leonardo would never forget how his Donatello would go the extra mile to track the best neighborhoods in New York. They always came back home with more candy than they (sans Raph) could carry.
Mikey starts to run up the steps with extra energy, but he freezes halfway up. He turns around and grins at CJ.
“Cmon Casey!” He shouts.
CJ’s eyes widened. “Wh-” Case looks back and forth from everyone around him. “Are you sure? I don’t even know what to do.”
Mikey rushes back down, grabs CJ’s arm, and drags him back up. CJ looks back at Leonardo with a fearful expression, but Leonardo just lifts his hands up in surrender with a smile. He laughs when CJ scowls back.
Mikey stops CJ at the top step. “Just ring the doorbell, wait for the person inside to open the door, then shout trick or treat! Sometimes you don’t even have to say it, they’ll just give it to you anyway.”
CJ looks back and forth from the door to Mikey. "They'll just give you candy?" Mikey nods. CJ looks back at the door and takes a deep breath. "No tricks? No payment?" Again, Mikey nods. CJ looks back to the door. His hand rises slowly to press the doorbell, just about to press it.
CJ pauses. "What if I mess it up?"
Donnie whips around CJ and presses the doorbell for him.
Mikey gasps at him. "Donnie! This was a learning moment for him!"
Donnie rolls his eyes. "Oh please, we'll do this at least twenty more times. He'll have his moment at some point."
As shadows move behind the door, CJ suddenly straightens his back and goes stock still.
It feels a bit ridiculous, but seeing CJ get nervous from something as small as this makes Leonardo’s mind cloud up with the need to go up there and pull him back to safety. This is the safest they've ever been. They're surrounded by the best warriors they've ever met who also just so happen to be their direct relatives. They're living in a world, a time where they're finally free, but Leonardo can't help but fear for him.
The door opens to a young Hispanic woman in a messy bun and a detailed gothic vampire outfit. A large orange bowl is full to the brim of different brands and flavors of lollipops and suckers.
CJ stutters for a second before shouting, at the top of his lungs, "TRICK OR TREAT!"
Everyone flinches at the volume, except for Casey, who applauds. CJ turns toward Mikey with an innocent grin. "How was that?!"
Still wincing, Mikey gives him a thumbs up.
The woman laughs and rubs her ears. "Damn kid, that was loud! I feel like I should let you guys get extra for that."
CJ gasps with childlike delight. "Really?"
Leo runs up the steps and nudges him aside with an awkward laugh. "Maybe don't encourage him? He'll probably shout at every door like that if you do."
This comment leads to the woman sending a knowing look towards CJ. "First Halloween?" CJ nods sheepishly. She leans in closer with a devilish grin, dropping a handful of candy in CJ's bag. "Then here's a tip for you. A new guy moved in a few doors down about a week ago, and I saw him carry a whole box of king sized candy bars inside this morning."
Donnie snatches at the candy she offers next. "I'm adding it to the map and we will head over immediately. Oh and uh, thank you!"
As everyone else quickly grabs their own handful of candy, CJ stands to the side and stares into his own bag.
When they all start walking towards the next stop, Leonardo slows down to walk in step with CJ. "How's the first haul?"
CJ looks up at him with a smile. "She gave us all so much! Are all houses like this?"
“Basically, yeah,” Leonardo says.
CJ goes to say something else, but then he seems to notice something and pauses. "Wait… didn't you get some?"
Leonardo scoffs. "Nah, I'm too old for that."
"Too old?"
"Yeah. Halloween is more of a kids thing. Some people in college go to parties, but us adults don't do much besides follow our kids around or hand out candy." Leonardo sends a dirty look at a grinning Mikey when he says that second part.
CJ frowns at his answer. “That seems like a stupid rule to have.”
Leonardo shrugs. “I don’t have much of a sweet tooth these days, so I’m not complaining.”
The comment does not seem to satiate CJ. “How about this,” CJ reaches into his bag and pulls out a fist-full of candy. “Once we’re done, you can have half of my candy!”
“Whoa hold on Casey, this is your haul. I’m not going to take it.”
Instead of listening to Leonardo, CJ forces his left hand open and shoves a handful of hard candies into his fist.
"You're going to enjoy this night just like I am," he says with a tone of assertiveness. CJ runs off to the rest of their family, leaving Leonardo to stare at the handful of jawbreakers he was given.

For whatever reason CJ had knocking around in his head, he kept handing Leonardo half of the candy he got. At one point he even tried to shove it all in Raph's bag (making sure to not put in any peanuts), but then CJ would catch him and send him those pleading eyes again. So, he got a bag.
Incidentally, him getting a bag led to him taking the opportunity to confiscate anything he deemed bad. Most of it was candy with nuts that somehow slipped through Donnie's radar. At one house he had to confiscate a baggie of chocolate covered espresso beans from Donnie and Mikey before they could try it out. They did not need any more energy than they already have. For that matter, who thought espresso beans were a good thing to give to children!?
Thankfully, before Leonardo can rip his nonexistent hair out, Splinter suggests they rest up at the nearby entrance to Central Park.
The kids unanimously decide to circle up and trade different brands amongst each other. CJ, bless him, doesn’t know most of what he’s been given, so it eventually becomes a showcase of CJ trying each piece that’s offered to him.
Leonardo watches their antics from a nearby bench. He’s thankful that they didn’t try to drag him into their little circle, he’s not sure what they would have done if Leo started to dump all his butterfingers in Leonardo’s bag. If Leo didn’t like them, then what makes him think that Leonardo would?
He’s brought out of his thoughts when Splinter sits down on the bench next to them with a sigh.
“You have no idea,” he says, “how difficult this gets as you get older.” He stretches his back. “I swear, you kids just keep getting more and more energy as the years add up.”
Leonardo gives him a halfhearted chuckle as he adjusts his hat. “I am having more fun out here than I thought I would,” he admits. “But I’m not much of a kid anymore.”
Splinter hums. “True. But then again, you will always be like little baby turtles to me. You four were so small and adorable!” He sighs. “I remember the first few days I had you and your brothers. They were the worst nights of sleep I ever had! Always making your little turtle noises and crying when it got too cold.”
Leonardo can’t help the snort of laughter that escapes from him. “I can believe that.” He looks over at CJ. “When Casey died, CJ was only two years old. He still needed someone to raise him, and I was really the only person around that could actually take care of Junior. Don was always working on our defenses, Mikey had to take care of anyone that got hurt, and Raph was already…” Leonardo’s voice catches and he coughs to release it. “Anyway, babysitting duty just so happened to land on me. I thought I wasn’t getting any sleep before, but when I had to deal with Case? I became a living zombie.”
“Babysitting?” Splinter scoffs. “I could hardly call raising a child for fifteen years through the destruction of your world babysitting.”
“Again with the-” Leonardo exhales sharply, then releases it in a heavy sigh. “It wasn’t just me that did it. It took pretty much the entire resistance to raise that kid. Everyone was basically his aunt or uncle at one point or another. Donnie was, Mikey was, April too. Heck, even Draxum pitched in a couple of times!”
“You say that,” Splinter says, “but that kid looks up to you like any child would to their father. I would know, that’s the look you would always give me. It’s the look you still give me.”
That catches Leonardo off guard. He looks back at Splinter, already giving him a knowing grin. “You may think that he doesn’t see you as a father, but he does. Just as much as I can tell that you see him as a son.”
Then, CJ shouts something that almost causes Leonardo’s brain to short circuit.
“Ojiisan!” Leonardo’s head snaps towards CJ, who doesn’t seem to notice anything off with what he’s said. “Did you want any candy? I’m offering now before Casey starts hoarding it all.”
“DON’T GO GIVING AWAY MY CANDY, GIVE AWAY YOUR OWN!” The two of them then dive into a mini wrestling contest.
Leonardo blinks. “What-” he shoots up to his feet. “What did he say?”
“I believe he called me his grandfather. And in Japanese, no less.” Splinter hops off of the stool with a snarky look that he knows he inherited. “I wonder what that makes you?”
Leonardo can’t find anything to say to that, so Splinter pats his leg with a chuckle before making his way over to the kids and requesting some kit kats.
There’s not much Leonardo can will himself to do besides watch as CJ escapes Casey’s hold and hands Splinter a pile of kit kats.
When he was wrangling with CJ as he grew up, he always thought that CJ didn't deserve a parent like him. He deserved someone that actually knew what they were doing when it came to kids. Casey literally worked with little brownie scouts to create an entire brownie empire. If there was anyone that deserved to be the parent, it was her.
But Casey is sitting right next to him now, and she's more of a big sister to him now than anything else. CJ's looking at Leonardo now, waving him over for a seat in the circle on his other side.
He looks down at the bag of candy in his hand and he can feel a smile begin to form on his face.
Leonardo hauls the bag over his shoulder and goes to sit down next to his son.
“So, got any more of those jawbreakers you feel like handing off?”

I pretty sure you’ve single-handedly unlocked a new hyperfixation within me
I’ve been vaguely following Billie the kid, watching their reels, enjoying bow pics, and of course the queerness of it all. This whole time I had very little clue what the plot was just that it was Queer and Ryan Kopel was involved (I mean what more could you need really) but after reading you brief synopsis of it I have the urge to absorb any and all information pertaining to this show so thank you for that /gen 🫡🫡

PS i don't quiiiite know what you mean by art? none of those photographs were mine and i haven't made any art for it at all, only a themed battle jacket i made for the show. the only creative thing i do is writing, and i haven't really written anything for the show yet, besides this:
“So, like-” Christ, Jack can feel himself getting breathless with how excited he is, “-okay – rodeos. Are those actually, like… A thing? ‘Cause I’ve seen YouTube videos-”
Davey scoffs into his coffee.
“God, Jackie, the south isn’t all cowboys and rodeos. Sometimes places are just places.”
David shoots him a quizzical look, which makes Davey give him the same look right back, the two of them such a flawless mirror image that Jack’s brain is bending in half trying to comprehend it.
“What?” Davey tries to smile, but Jack’s known him long enough to recognize his nervous twinges.
“I mean…” David swivels his hawk-eyes across the table, peering from person to person as he judges what to say. “Yeah, you’re right an’ all, Winchester Creek ain’t nothin’ special, but – kinda rich comin’ from you, huh?”
Davey frowns.
“Coming from me?”
David blinks at him owlishly, and it’s such a Davey mannerism that Jack has to shake his head a little just to shift David back behind the line that separates the two.
“Dude.” He says flatly. “You came third in bronc ridin’ at our junior rodeo back when we were like, twelve.”
“What?!” Davey splutters, though Jack can barely hear him – the whole table’s yelling over each other at the sheer idea of Davey in a rodeo, and Jack’s too busy staring at him, mouth agape, his terrible mind filled with equally terrible images of Davey on a horse, Davey with a lasso, Davey shirtless on a horse with a lasso-
“C’mon, you know this!” David insists. “It was that summer your dad got hurt real bad an’ ya momma sent ya ‘round to us, remember? You were there for months and ya fuckin’ hated it, so my pop gotcha into our county’s Li’l Britches. I know,” he scoffs, tipping back a little in his seat, “because pop made us stay there the whole day before you went on. Think he thought I’d get jealous and wanna join in.” He tips his chin up curtly and takes what is quite possibly the bitchiest sip of his cold brew. “Didn’t fuckin’ work, though.”
“David.” Jack says gravely, and when two heads turn in synchrony to look at him, quickly adds, “uh, sorry, no – my David.”
“Well, I could be.” David shrugs with a sly grin, and Jack’s whole body feels like paper being punched into a little ball.

Mostly BBC Sherlock and Star Wars. But I’ve also written a fic for The Hunger Games, Loki show, Grantchester, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, and Wonder Woman.

Absolutely! There was only one time in my life that I said I couldn’t routinely do that, and that was at the height of popularity for I Told You So. I was posting it on AO3 and ffnet, and also posting the links on here, and I was getting feedback on all three platforms. Which was amazing! But it meant it was a bit much to keep up with. Other than that, I feel commenters deserve a response since they’re giving us writers the thing we want most. ❤️
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
For reylo probably I’m Ready to be Heartbroken and for sherlolly I think it’s a tie between You’re Dying and Congratulations, By The Way.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I truly couldn’t say because I’ve written sooo many with happy endings that Idk what would be happiest 😆
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I’ve gotten the very occasional slightly rude comment over the years, but not what I’d consider hate.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I never have and I don’t plan to. It’s just not something I want to do. And besides I think there’s always more than enough of that for those who want it. If anything, what tends to be lacking is a large selection of fics without that type of content.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Only think I’ve ever done is a Star Wars AU one shot for sherlolly called Balance.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, and I don’t know if I’d even want to know because that would be such a huge amount of stress and I’d probably be very limited in what I could do about it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I’m honored to say that I have! There might be one for I Told You So on ffnet… I can’t remember. But definitely on AO3 there’s a Russian translation of Zephyr and a Chinese translation of For Science
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, indeed! I’ve co-written two fics with @thisisartbylexie. Alliance for reylo, and Half Agony, Half Hope for sherlolly. Coincidence that those are also in my top 5 kudos? I think not.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
That’s super hard but if for no other reason than the duration of my creating, I guess I’d have to say sherlolly.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don’t think I have an answer for this because the 2 WIP I have at the moment are ones I am definitely in the process of finishing.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think dialogue and internal descriptions for the character. And I guess describing things in a way that help the reader easily hear/see the scene in their mind, since that’s a comment I’ve gotten many times over the years.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action and mystery. Ironic, given my fandoms lol. I am always so uncomfortable describing action scenes or situations where there’s a lot going on and it’s fast paced. And I absolutely would struggle if I had to come up with a mystery plot line!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
What an interesting question! I’m trying to think if I’ve ever even done this in a fic. 🤔 But I think it’s a great thing to include if the plot calls for it! If I did I’d ideally want to check with someone who is fluent in that language just to make sure I’m not being inaccurate.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
BBC Sherlock (for sherlolly) going on 10 years ago 🥹
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I genuinely don’t think I can choose. Sometimes I try to when I get this question, but it really is a toss up between a few fics. There’s not one particular one that stands out from the others so much that I’d call it my favorite. But some of my faves are definitely in that list of my top kudos fics that I listed in question 4.

Jennifer Kelly’s 2023 in Review: Still Human FWIW
I finally saw Sun Ra Arkestra
I first heard about Chat GPT in January this year, and it sounded bad from the start. I make most of my living writing things for big faceless corporations who view me as a cost. Cut that cost to zero and I’m out of a job. But for the first five months of 2024, I continued to be busy and I thought, well maybe it’s nothing. Then in May, like a light switch, everything stopped. I had one regular client who continued to pay a monthly retainer. Nothing else. And the usual mailings, pleadings with old clients, etc. had no effect. I’m close to retirement age. This summer, I thought I had arrived early.
Things have picked up since then, and right now, I’m in a good place. People are starting to notice Chat GPT’s ignorance of anything post 2021, its refusal to factcheck or footnote and its relentless blandness. Clients are coming back, but the floor doesn’t feel very solid under my feet. It could all go away at any time. (This is the lesson we all learned from COVID-19…that you could fall into the pit any time.)
The one thing that didn’t stop was Dusted, and for that I am very grateful. As I’ll explain to anyone who asks, there’s never been any money in Dusted, so there can’t be any less. We are more or less immune to economic pressures. And as long as we’re here, there is lots and lots of good music to write about.
My year started with two records that blew me away in January (and maybe December 2022) and held #1 and #2 slots all year. They were Meg Baird’s Furling and Robert Forster’s the Candle and the Flame. Next, came an email from Rob from Sunburned with a link to Stella Kola’s extraordinary debut, and then gosh, Sub Pop still sends me promos and here’s one from Mudhoney! Every time 2024 succeeded in getting me down, I’d get music from someone.
Live music was another solace. Shows that made me happy this year included Warp Trio, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Dear Nora, Vieux Farka Toure, Bridget St. John with Stella Kola, Sun Ra Arkestra, Kid Millions with Sarah Bernstein, Faun Fables, Sweeping Promises, Daniel Higgs, Constant Smiles, Baba Commandant (RIP), Xylouris White, Joseph Allred with Ruth Garbus and Ryan Davis with his Roadhouse band. Special mention goes to the always astonishing Thing in the Spring with Editrix, Rough Francis, Thus Love, Gorilla Toss, Equipment Pointed Ankh. Susan Alcorn, Marisa Anderson and Jim White and Bill Callahan.
The best show of the year, however, came late in the summer with William Tyler and the Impossible Truth band, an unbelievably talented, seasoned crew with Luke Schneider on pedal steel, Third Man mainstay Jack Lawrence on bass and Brian Kotzgur on drums. The way they opened up and fired up Tyler’s songs was a revelation, even to someone, like me, who’s been a fan since Behold the Spirit. Garcia Peoples opened, and they were great, too.
I should mention that we have recently been blessed with a bunch of excellent music venues nearby—Nova Arts in Keene and Epsilon Spires and the Stone Church in Brattleboro. Going to music used to always mean driving back from at least Northampton, sometimes further, late at night, and, as I get older and my night vision fades, it has been really nice not to have to do that. (Also, to all my Dusted-reader-musician-friends, if you play one of these venues, thank you, and let me know when you’re coming.)
With that, it’s time to talk about 2023 favorites. I’ll write about the first ten and then just list the rest.
Meg Baird — Furling (Drag City)
Meg Baird’s gorgeous solo album alternates between ghostly, inward-looking piano songs and bright swirls of 1960s psychedelia. Her extraordinary voice, high, pure, and unearthly, joins lush, burnished guitar grooves. Sometimes I think I like the swaggering bounce of “Will You Follow Me Home,” the best, but other times, the disembodied otherness of “Ashes, Ashes” is the prettiest thing I know.
Robert Forster — The Candle and the Flame (Tapete)
Forster’s solo records are always good, wry and funny and stuttering with strummy punk energy, but this one, recorded with family while his wife battled cancer, is his best yet. “She’s a Fighter,” a group sing-along is prickly and defiant, the only song specifically written about Karin’s illness, but threads of enduring, life-long love run all through this album. “Tender Years” is especially moving, as Forster sings, “I’m in a story with her, I know I can’t live without her, I can’t imagine why,” in a voice cracked with sincerity and feeling. Very few albums make me cry, but this one does.
Anohni and the Johnsons—My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross (Secretly Canadian)
The sound on Anohni’s fifth album with the Johnsons smolders in the pocket, its textures a nod to Marvin Gaye’s classic What’s Going On? It’s velvety smooth but taut with urgency, as the artist contemplates climate disaster and personal struggles. “It Must Change,” trills with the coolest falsetto, while “Sliver of Ice” reverberates with a low, hushed passion. Every song lands a punch, soft when it happens but ringing for days in your ears.
The Drin — Today My Friend You Drunk the Venom (Feel It)
“Venom” lurches and blurts, bass thumping, drums clashing, monotone vocals drenched in menace. It’s a punk song distilled to essence, a world in itself, a short, brutal blast that is also somehow psychedelically expansive. The Fall, the Swell Maps and Adrian Sherwood haunt this disc in various places, but the Drin is its own mysterious thing.
Wreckless Eric — Leisureland (Tapete)
“Get yourself a one-way ticket for the merry-go-round,” sings the Bard of Hull on the last and most exhilarating song from his ninth full-length. That’s “Drag Time,” with its indelible hook, its enveloping harmonies, its hint of Amy Rigby in the chorus. Let’s just go way out on a limb here and say it’s as good, maybe better, than “Whole Wide World.”
En Attendant Ana — Principia (Trouble in Mind)
Good lord, was Trouble in Mind on a roll this year or what? I could put Melanas or Tubs here, with FACS not far behind, but instead, let us contemplate the light-and-dark wonder of “Black Morning,” with its giddy counterpoints, its bright, sustaining trumpet, its boppy beat and its underpinning, somehow, of shadowy melancholy. Or the skanky bass that kicks off “Same Old Story,” in a prickly way, the lone element of dissonance that gives a daydream teeth.
Stella Kola—S-T (Self-Release)
Everybody who’s anybody in W. Mass alt.folk does a turn on this magical LP—centered around Beverly Ketch and Rob Thomas but including PG Six, Wednesday Knudson, Jeremy Pisani, Willy Lane and Jen Gelineau. Despite the expansiveness of the ensemble, these songs are feather light and lucid, like Pentangle sprinkled with magic dust.
Mudhoney — Plastic Eternity (Sub Pop)
Psychedelic overload meets raw punk and potty humor in this 12th album from the grunge godfathers. I like the sheer rush and swirl of cuts like “Almost Everything” and “Souvenir of my Trip” best, but bare, belligerent “Flush the Fascists” is grade-A too, and how can anyone resist Mark Arm paying tribute to his best bud on “Little Dogs.”
Beirut — Hadsel (Pompeii)

Hadsel is surprisingly cheery for an album recorded on a remote Norwegian island in the dead of winter, with swoony harmonies and counterpoints, intricate synthesized beats and blares of an antique pipe organ. “We had so many plans,” Zach Condon sings, both mourning and subtly sending up his cohort’s response to the COVID pandemic, but this remarkably pretty album seems more like a happy accident.

What a total pleasure it is when one jangly, drone-y, indie rock phenomenon pays tribute to the wellspring. In this case, it’s the Feelies covering many of the Velvet Underground’s best known songs at a live show in 2018 where everyone had a blast. Now you can, too.

I’m sorry for my lack of answers, I’m trying to keep up with the current airing whumps’ lists but also completing the finished shows’ one and the new seasons’ episodes’ ones:
* The current airing shows’ lists are all updated: Law & Order SVU, The Flash, Magnum PI, Taxi Driver; I’ll soon watch Carnival Row and update it with the first two episodes aired as well;
* I am doing a whumpslist for Will Trent, which is currently airing, and the books by Karin Slaughter the TV show is based on, I'm still undecided whether to publish it or wait to complete them all. What would you prefer?;
* I have to update the Titans' list with the first part of the fourth season;
* I’ve finally updated the Prodigal Son's list with the second season (I will reblog it right after this post); The Boys' one has already been updated with the third season;
* I’ve recentely updated Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and Strike (TV show and books) too, and posted a new K-list, The Veil;
* I have started to watch the second season of The Witcher (I’ve watched the prequel Blood Origin and enjoyed it so much);
* I have K-drama The K-2 list to complete from... forever, I will gather my courage to finish it and goodbye one of my favorite character; same for The Musketeers, only a bunch of episodes left to review...

Nope, as I’ve already answered it several times: I will not do a list for SEAL Team, I've only made a gifset for episode 2.17. Despite the potential, it’s pretty lacking in whumps (even if the last season had some improvements). The ones shown are widely reviewed in The Whumpapedia, though.

Interesting trope, Anon! Not one of my kind, so I can’t really recall some specifically, but I report it in my lists when it happens. Maybe you can use a selected filter to serch it into The Whumpapedia, though.

Scout Stories is a full-color collection of short stories about personal encounters and experiences I've had over my 18 years working as a location scout in NYC and LA, illustrated with my original photography and published quarterly.
I'm really proud of this one. I've been working on this issue for four months, and it turned out bigger than the first in just about every way. It's 52 pages, has twice the number of stories, is more than 5,500 words longer, and has more pictures. If you're a fan of my daily posts here, or have been following my work since the Scouting NY days, or enjoyed the previous issue, I think you're going to love it.
There is one big change though: the theme. This one is the "Show Business" issue, and all the stories are about encounters with people who, in some way big or small, play a role in making movies.
Each vignette is titled by a particular profession: The Director, The Screenwriter, The Producer, The Set Dresser, The Production Assistant, and so on.
There's a three-part series called The Gravedigger, which details all the fun that happens when you're asked to dig a grave in a suburban backyard large enough to accommodate a full-sized coffin.
And there are a couple of stories called The Location Scout, which suggests that maybe some personal stuff found its way into this one.
Some of the stories are funny. Some are sad or might make you angry. All are ones that have stuck with me through the years for reasons that will hopefully be evident when you read them. Nearly all are entirely new to this collection.
Finally, I'm happy to say there's a bunch of NYC stories in this issue! When I first announced this project, a lot of you asked when I'd start sharing some, and the answer is: right here! I've marked each with an old NYC subway token.

henlo my beloveds!! i cannot believe that an entire year has passed in which not a single day goes by where i dont think about, listen to, watch, or fawn over (or all of the above) the most amazing group of young artists that i’ve ever had the pleasure of loving.
below the cut you will find some unnecessary emotional babbling about my short but amazing time as an atiny and some words of love to some of the people on this website who have contributed to that happiness. (fair warning: it is really fucking long i am so sorry and i do not expect many people to read it. tags and messages are at the bottom if that’s what you’re here for)
a week or so from today marks my first anniversary of being part of atinyblr, but it was on the fateful day of saturday july 17th 2021 that i watched my very first piece of ateez content and fell head over heels for fireworks!yeosang.
over 6000 tumblr posts later (what can i say? when ya boy obsesses, she oBsESsEs alright), and here we are. tumblr user woosansang who had previously not changed their url for SIX YEARS breaks tradition for Some Guys. smh @ myself at how whipped i am. @/bowtiescarves, you had a good run.
while yeosang captured my attention literally instantly, some of you know how utterly in denial i was about my san bias, which manifested itself within mere days of discovering them, yet it took me over six months to acknowledge how much he affected me. seonghwa joined the bias line second, officially, but then he got kicked out after deja vu because apparently i can’t take him seriously when he’s got pink hair or something idk. anyway, for all of one week i was posting about yeosang, san and seonghwa. and then i discovered inception era wooyoung and my life was basically over then. like. fucking goodbye jazzy lol LOL.
i remember listening to compilations of jongho singing for hours. i remember being so upset that they came to australia back in 2019 before i really even knew what kpop was at all and feeling like i’d missed my chance (cut to me now, kind of considering a wholeass holiday to korea for the sole purpose of seeing them live). i remember watching every. single. thanxx stage. GOD. those first few weeks were wild.
then i made my first ateez gifs. of seonghwa of all people. and since then, i have made more gifs and gifsets in the past year than the previous seven or eight years of being a casual content creator combined. (like i said, i’m insanely obsessed but wcyd)
outside of tumblr, i am a dancer, and after only knowing of ateez for a few weeks, my sister (who introduced me to them) and i decided that we were going to cut together a mashup song and learn a bunch of their choreographies to perform at our dance school’s annual concert in 2021. lockdowns and restrictions meant that we ended up learning and teaching this dance to our friend almost entirely online, and if i’m being completely honest here, our ateez dance was one of the only things that kept me happy during all the time spent stuck at home. like. combine dance and my current hyperfixation and you get one happy jazzy. we weren’t perfect by any means, but i was so so proud of our little trio for what we managed to accomplish (i think most of you have already seen my dance but if you want, you can dm me and i’ll send you the link if you want to watch!). our dance was ridiculously well recieved by the audience and i cannot remember ever being happier on stage then when i was performing to ateez’s music. it’s wild how serotonin works hey.
the past year of my life has been hectic, especially this last six months with my new job, and ateez has been the main thing that’s kept me going strong this whole time. they make me so happy, and the friends i have made through them make me so happy as well <3 i am so grateful that i found them and fell in love with them when i did <3

"You Are Only Mine" is a large yandere collection. Because it's yandere it obviously contains sensitive topic like stalking, unhealthy relationships, and murder. There are many other triggering topics in this series like self harm, abuse, disturbing imagery(eyes, gore, etc) More will be added as I write for it.
You Are Only Mine is a series of yandere stories!
There is no one specific plot to you are mine, it serves to hold a a bunch of different yandere stories and characters. For example "Heart of the Sea" which is the first story I will be working on will not have characters that interact with any character from "Our Happy Ever After" because they are in a different story in his series. Not all characters in the stories will interact though.

Heart of the Sea- An ocean themed vn! Y/n is part of a pirate crew, exploring the seas with them. In most routes, the crew runs into a storm, you lose your footing, and fall into the ocean. However you don't die, not even when you're on the ocean floor.
Our Happy Ever After- A fairytale themed vn! The love interests are based off of fairy tale characters. The protagonists, the side characters, and even the villains! But how'd you get to these worlds?

Genshin x fem!reader [Volleyball Team AU - Inspired by Haikyuu!] He introduces S/O to the team

Scenario: You and him have been dating for a while now. Why does the team not know and what’s their reaction in finding out/when he introduces you?
Warnings: AU if that’s not your thing then don’t read, not proofread...as usual.
#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)
You’ve been dating for nearly 5 months at this point. Beforehand the two of you were close friends. So the team kind of already knew you guys were close, but you’d never met the team properly.
It’s not that he was HIDING your relationship, its that he didn’t want to pressure you into meeting his team. They could really be an overwhelming bunch of high schoolers sometimes.
As it happens he walks to the gym hand in hand with you one day, his other hand on his duffel sports bag, thinking that he’d be the earliest one there as always.
But when he slides the gym doors open his WHOLE TEAM greets him “CAPTAIN!” and then there’s an awkward silence that descends as they all catch him with his hand intertwined with yours.
KAEYA AND TARTAGLIA LOSES IT. “C-Captain, you had a girlfriend and didn’t tell us?!” “You finally made a move on her?!” “S’about time!”
Needless to say they both get knocked on the head by Zhongli’s fist.
Zhongli sighs and turns to you apologetically but you say that you don’t mind meeting them. He perks up and claps his hands to ask his team to line up.
They do so diligently. Kaeya, Tartaglia and Thoma are giddy while looking at you. Xiao and Kazuha have their mouth slightly agape as if you’re some kind of rare species. Diluc and Albedo stare you down.
You introduce yourself as Zhongli’s gilrfriend and as you do so Tartaglia’s eyes dart towards Zhongli who has a slightly shy expression on his face.
“Oh, oh question time!” Thoma raises his hand “Does the captain secretly eat sweets behind our back?” You haven’t even answered when Kaeya asks “Does the captain ever glare at you (he mimics Zhongli’s face) and say 10 Push ups NOW!” Surprisingly Diluc raises his hand too “...Is the captain strict with you too?”
Zhongli gets irked the more questions are asked and he finally steps in with an ominous presence. “10 laps around the gym...NOW!”
He apologizes to you again but you reassure him it’s totally fine and they all seem like such fun.
#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)
The vice captain is a very secretive guy.
Not even his brother knew.
It’s not that he was ashamed of you, he just liked his privacy and you already knew that.
But there was this one time where he forgot his textbooks under his desk and you had to go and give it to him while he was at practice.
Shyly looking into the door the first one that spots you is Albedo.
“...Do you need something?” you tense up at Albedo’s question and shakily hand him the textbooks.
“U-Uhm... D-Diluc’s...”
Albedo tilts his head and turns to shout at the team. “Someone’s looking for the vice captain,”
Everyone stops what they’re doing and snaps there head towards you.
Diluc jogs over, sweat still fresh on his forehead. Without thinking he takes the books from you, small smile on his face and thanks you.
The rest of his team freezes up all thinking: “Hold on, is he...SMILING?”
You’re oblivious to them staring and give him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. When Diluc turns back his team is glaring daggers at him, he stares back at them. Doesn’t say anything, and continues practice.
No one is brave enough to ask him about it.
Tartaglia whispers to Kaeya “You didn’t know about it either huh?”
#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)
This MF would talk about you whenever he had the chance.
Y/N this, Y/N that, Y/N is so cute.
Frankly the team is kinda tired of it.
But when you finally visit one of their practices the team levels their gaze at you and think “Oh shit, he wasn’t lying, she is actually cute,”
Sees his teammates expression and brags even more. “I know what y’all are thinking. You’re thinking, OH! She’s actually really cute! Hm?”
Slings an arm around you shamelessly with a grin. “Back off boys, I’ll block all your attempts,”
Diluc is the one that walks up to you and you blink at him. Kaeya blinks at him, confused as well.
Diluc suddenly bows, “I feel sorry for you but please take care of him,”
The rest of the team either bursts out laughing or snickers behind their hand.
Their vice captain is low key savage
#4 Albedo (Setter)
The team finds out about you cause when they finish practice they find you waiting outside the gym.
Kazuha asks politely while the others look on “Are you lost?”
You straighten up and stutter a little, “Ah, uh, no, I’m...” You’re at a loss for words.
Then Albedo suddenly appears from the gym doors and sees you. “Ah, were you waiting long? Sorry,”
Thoma tilts his head in question. “Albedo...Your sister?”
Albedo at this point was standing next to you already. “...No, my girlfriend,” like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Everyone is stunned into statues.
“H-How did you get one before me?” Tartaglia looks as if his soul had been sucked out of his body.
“Next time you can just come inside and wait inside the gym, it’s dark out here,” their responsible captain suggests and you’re amazed at his kindness and bow at him with a thank you.
Albedo doesn’t see what’s the big deal and just grabs your hand and starts walking away.
#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The team already knew since the first date. It’s because he.would.not.shut.up.about.it
That particular day at practice his spikes were a tad bit stronger than usual.
“Oi... you’re getting too excited...” Xiao mumbles at him. Tartaglia just grins and scratches the back of his head. “Aaaahhhh... I can’t help it, I’m so nervous for my date with Y/N!”
A few more dates later he starts showing off his phone wallpaper to the others. It’s a picture of you and him.
Kaeya tries to piss him off by saying, “Huh, we’ve never actually seen her in person. Maybe it’s photoshopped,” The others snicker.
Is so pissed, asks you to come immediately.
You thought it was an emergency so you come into the gym with a worried look on your face only to be hugged tight into his chest. “See? See? She’s totally real and totally cute!”
Albedo crosses his arms and blinks, then looks at Kaeya “...You totally baited him, he’s such a simpleton.”
Kaeya responds with a smirk “Right?”
#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The most formal out of all of them and even tells them seriously that he had an announcement to make.
Next day he comes into practice with you in tow.
Properly introduces you as his girlfriend.
Everyone is wide-eyed at how official it feels. Then you suddenly take out a big container of fruits and tell everyone it’s for them (The captain doesn’t allow sweets, he thinks it’ll fatten them up or some crap.)
EVERYONE IS BLESSED BY YOUR PRESENCE and Kazuha is just enjoying you getting along with them.
Kaeya and Tartaglia try to whisper and bribe you into making cookies for them.
Albedo and Xiao stares at Kazuha thinking ‘If someone like you can get a girlfriend, we can get one too, right?’
You offer to come back next time with more fruits and some secret cookies.
#7 Xiao (Libero)
Tried to keep it a secret because he knows his team will make a fuss about it.
The team finds out when his phone suddenly starts ringing in the middle of practice and he asks for a timeout to pick it up.
“Mm... Yeah... I’ll pick you up when I finish,” Everyone starts nudging each other when they hear him talk to you in an unusually calm and soft tone. So different from when he plays volleyball and gets angry at them.
By this point everyone tries to keep quiet and enlarge their ears to eavesdrop.
“Idiot... I won’t be late. I promised to take you out didn’t I?”
Hearing their tsundere libero say something so sweet makes everyone combust.
When he turns back everyone is staring at him with smirks on their faces. “Hey, why not just ask her to come here?” Kaeya sneakily suggests.
Xiao blushes “A-As if I’d let her near you bumbling fools!”
He was worried it would scare you away, actually.
#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)
Literally no one is surprised he has a girlfriend.
It would be MORE of a surprise if he DIDN’T have one.
But they find out cause he left his phone out on the bench one day and there’d been a text message while Xiao was conveniently sitting on the bench.
“...Tohma, someone me--” Xiao looks at the screen where the message ‘I love you!’ is clearly written.
Xiao is so curious but is not gunna admit it so he nudges Kaeya or Tartaglia who might be sitting next to him and secretly motions over to the phone.
They read it and ask in a real loud voice “Oi Tohma! Who’s Y/N? They said I love you!”
Tohma laughs nervously and since it’s already out he might as well introduce you.
“This is my princess,” he says when you enter the gym to walk home with him that afternoon. You bow and introduce yourself and everyone looks at you thinking... “Ah, they look like the perfect domestic couple,”
Low-key everyone is jealous of how you dote on him.

A Guide on How to Locate Old VODs!
Hello, everyone!
As you all know, Twitch has a cap on VOD availability where, after two months, a VOD on a channel will be deleted.
Given that Dream SMP has lasted for longer than two months, with the bulk of the plot now missing, this means that finding old footage can be somewhat of a challenge if you aren’t yet familiar with how to do so!
I get a lot of asks asking me where certain old VODs are, and while I don’t mind these asks at all, I also figured it would be helpful to make a guide post on my methods for locating them so that people can attempt to locate things for themselves too!
There are plenty of ways to go about it, but this is just what I do.
Without further ado, here’s a step-by-step process.

Before you go searching for anything, there’s some information that you’ll need to decide on.
What are you looking for?
This one’s a bit obvious, but you need to figure out what exactly you’ll be seeking out. For this guide, I’ll be using the first Dreamon Hunters VOD as an example, as that’s one that people have asked for a lot in the past.
When did it happen?
As a general question, you’ll want to know the basic context of around what time this event took place. We’ll get into specifics later, but it helps to have context. Think: what else was happening at the time?
Well, for Dreamon Hunters, we know that Fundy was wearing his Dreamon Hunters outfit at the Manberg Festival, October 16. Therefore, that event took place not too long before then.
From whose POV?
You’ll need to know which streamers to search under. The first Dreamon Hunters stream was streamed by Fundy and Tubbo.
Tubbo’s official VODs channel does not include the first Dreamon Hunters VOD, and the oldest VOD on Archive is Festival preparation on October 13. Unfortunately, this means that Tubbo’s POV is lost, so we will be seeking out Fundy’s.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, onto the next steps.
STEP ONE: Figure out the exact date.
There are a few ways to achieve this. If you’re lucky, you’ll know the date already -- November 16th, January 6th, other big ones like that. Sometimes you can look at recap posts if they exist for that day.
But the most reliable one I’ve found, especially for Season One, is actually to use Twitter’s advanced search.
(Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking. But it genuinely works pretty well)
Type in keywords that you think would end up in livetweets of the stream. If something specific was trending that day because of the event, that helps as well. For this example, we’ll use “DreamXD,” as that was trending.
Scroll down to the bottom and select a date range. This is where knowing the general time that the event happened helps. We’ll do October 1 - October 16.
There! We’ve found the livetweets! How nostalgic.
Figure out the earliest date.
For our example, it appears to be October 7. Note that VOD dates might be a day later due to different timezones.
STEP TWO [Optional]: Figure out the stream title.
You don’t necessarily need this step, but it can often be helpful when scrolling through a large selection of VODs, and since sometimes the VOD dates can be a day off, having the title will give you the most accuracy.
Go to Twitchtracker.com/ [insert streamer name] /streams and click on the date you just found.
From here, we can see that Fundy’s stream on October 7 was titled “THE NEW MANBERG.”
STEP THREE: Find the VOD on a VODs channel or on Archive.
I will be linking a bunch of unofficial VODs channels that I’d recommend at the end. Here we will be using Fundy Stream Archive.
And there we go! We have successfully located the first Dreamon Hunters VOD!

Now, that was an easy example. Things can get a bit more difficult than that.
For our next example: what if you wanted to find the original Captain Puffy “duckling Dream” VOD?
When did it happen?
If you remember, this stream happened when Captain Puffy hadn’t yet chosen her alliances between Dream SMP and L’manburg. Therefore, it would have been November or early December, soon after she joined the server.
Using the Twitter search method, we’ll search for “duckling Dream” in the date range November 16 - December 20.
The earliest date appears to be November 29.
Using Twitchtracker, we know that Captain Puffy’s stream on November 29 was titled “Nightime vibing on the Dream SMP!”
Next, since Captain Puffy’s VODs from this early on haven’t been archived to a channel on YouTube, we’ll visit Archive.org instead. Search up “Captain Puffy”
Be sure to sort by date. This will display the date below, but I’d still recommend you have the stream title on hand as well.

What can’t you locate?
Unfortunately, there is content that can’t be found this way.
Tubbo’s August and September VODs, Eret and Jack Manifold’s August VODs, a couple Tommy streams, HBomb’s Doomsday stream, etc., are all missing.
Notably, every so often Sapnap’s Storytime Stream VOD will be rediscovered and passed around as a Google Drive link or uploaded to YouTube before inevitably being taken down again. Keep your eyes peeled and you might see it pop up again.

Draken probably fell for you because you’re either a sweet and caring individual, a pretty calm and collected person or because your vibe screams confidence. (Just my opinion on what I personally think he’d fall for)
My man would act so cold and uncaring. But inside.. he’s head over heals, screaming internally about how much he’s fucking up right now and that he should just be truthful about his feelings…. Butttttt he’s to nervous, so he’s gonna go with the next best thing.

He told this to Mikey and well… Mikey trying to be a supportive friend, threatened asked one of your friends(or a sibling) if they could help set you and Draken up so he could confess his feelings.
Draken found out and decided that would be to stressful on him, and he didn’t want that kind of stress or pressure. So he had Mikey and your friend/sibling help him write something to you instead.
Though, Mikey was getting impatient. Draken, your friend/sibling, and him have been doing this for hours, but Draken kept erasing and or throwing away everything he’s wrote. He put all his feelings into every single thing he wrote yet he kept saying ‘it’s not good enough’ or ‘it doesn’t make sense’ and just a bunch of excuses. Mikey was tired of it. He wanted his friend to be happy with the person he was crushing on.
So what did Mikey do? He grabbed Draken’s newest letter and ran. Ran to go find you. And Draken ran after him. By the time Draken caught up with Mikey he noticed he was now infront of your classroom, no one else there because it was early, class didn’t start yet. Just you, him, Mikey, and his damned letter. His damned letter was in your hands and Mikey was smiling as he leaned over an read the letter too, looking up at Draken and giving him a close eyed smile.
What are you gonna do? He just wrote his feelings on paper and his friend snatched it and had you read it. You just read a letter about every single feeling he has towards you. Would you turn him down after you just read about all the adoration and upmost respect he has for you? You wouldn’t right? That would just break his heart.
