Ahhhhhh I have a thing I wanna ask, the heisters + Bain with an super cuddly S/O?? Pls I just wanna cuddle them, like AAAAAAAAAA-

Yes, I've decided it's time to write for (almost) everyone, excluding Jiro, Rust, Ethan, Hila, Bodhi and Dragan because I'm not good with them. These ones will probably be smaller than usual, since there's so many of them lol-

Bain + Heisters with a cuddly s/o

Bain

- Since usually Bain stays in the shadows (like a little teen emo) he's not used to the whole... attention thing

- Like... at all

- He's a little shy/flustered about it at first

- 'H-hey, what're you- Oh. Heh, okay...'

- He doesn't know how to respond other than to hug back

- But he grows to like it

- He only realises how much he actually enjoys it when you aren't there

- Like, if you're a heister, you obviously can't be there the entire time, you've got work!

- After a hour or two, he's like 'I need hugs oml help'

- He's too embarrassed to actually ask for them, because he's not used to feeling so loved and touch-starved

- He just kind of... gets near to you to indicate it 💀

- He has to fight the urge to call you over for 'something urgent' so he can hug you :)

- (Everyone knows that he's lying though)

- '(Y/n)! Bain needs you!' (Dallas or something)

- 'For something important this time? Or...is he just being clingy again...' (you)

- In all seriousness he low-key needs to hold back because the amount of times you've been called over just for this-

- I mean, you like hugs so it's okay tbh-

Dallas

- Is not embarrassed at all

- He proudly hugs you back

- I mean why should he be shy about having an awesome partner like you???

- If anyone judges him about it, he just brushes it off as jealousy

- (It almost always is anyway)

- If anyone makes fun of you, they better prepare for his wrath

- But yeah, he's kind of into PDA himself anyway (though not as much as you)

- So he was gonna hold your hand and stuff even if you didn't initiate it

- I think he usually isn't much for PDA himself

- But he doesn't mind when you do it

- It's just something he doesn't do often by default

- Even though he enjoys your hugs a lot so

- I'm ngl, he becomes a little grouchy if you're not available to hug/haven't hugged him in a while

- Like Bain, he won't admit it, he'll just... gesture to you that he wants to

- Either that or he'll just hug you himself

- According to him though, it apparently 'doesn't feel the same when he starts it'

- It's kinda funny just seeing him kind of gesture to you

Clover

- Like the previous two, she is obviously not shy about this

- Similar to Hoxton, I don't think she's super big on PDA, but she likes doing it now and then

- Absolutely adores the way you just come up to her to cuddle

- Like... awww

- 'Awh, c'mere love..!'

- Will actually fight anyone who comments on it (in a negative manner)

- 'What'd you say about my partner?! I swear to christ-'

- Okay be careful unless you want her to actually beat up a dude

- She can't help it okay, she just doesn't want you to be hurt

Duke

- Usually isn't one for PDA

- It's not like he's embarrassed, it's just...

- He doesn't think of it ig? It doesn't come to mind tbh

- He doesn't mind the hugs, he'll hug back with no problems

- Even in public he has no issue with you coming up to hug

- He won't do it himself though

- He's much more of a private dude ig?

Bonnie

- I feel like Bonnie also likes PDA

- Even if she doesn't, she definitely doesn't get shy/embarrassed when you hug her

- Like why would she be embarrassed about having a loving partner????

- Hugs back with absolutely no issues whatsoever

- If anyone judges you she won't hesitate to square up fr

- 'If I hear another word out of your mouth, I'm gonna bash your head on this table!'

- Protective girlfriend slay we love that

- She'll literally threaten a man one moment then immediately go back to hugging you the next

- The duality is impeccable girl

Jimmy

- Absolutely adores the hugs

- He enjoys the PDA, and actively participates in it when possible

- Anything like holding hands, an arm on the shoulder, head pats or hugs!

- Although his hugs are more like... clinging on kind of stuff-

- (Like a koala or something 💀)

- It doesn't matter when or where, he will always have room for your hugs :)

- You could probably hug him in the middle of a fight and he'd still reciprocate

- He'd just have to hug with one hand shoot with the other 💀

- Would probably go feral if someone bullied you about your behaviour

- Okay maybe not feral but definitely aggressive

Sangres

- Is more than happy to receive hugs :D

- Is definitely a PDA guy, but doesn't hug that often???

- Like if you initiate it he has no issue hugging back, it's just something he doesn't initiate himself in public

- He usually opts for hand on the waist, arm around you, kisses, so on...

- Low key off-topic but he'd probably like picking you up so if you ask be prepared to be lifted-

- Will probably reciprocate anytime like Jimmy

- Okay maybe not during fights though?

- If you tried during a fight he'd probably just pat you or something then lightly push you off

- Uh okay so I feel like he isn't the biggest on PDA, so he might not accept your hugs every time

- Mostly he will, but if it's during a fight he'll probably lightly push you off

- He can't be hugging you in the middle of it :'/

- Not that he doesn't like your affection, he loves it!!

- It's just, he's professional like that lol

- But once the fight is over and you all get home safe???

- Doesn't matter where or when, he will almost always reciprocate when you hug!

- During heists he probably will have difficulty doing so, as he's literally going insane on the cops fr

- OH also, no matter what, it doesn't matter if he knows it's happening, he will always get flustered at your hugs

- It's really cute bc if you hug him and listen to his heart you can tell it gets really fast all of a sudden

- Once you're home, he will actually cling to you

- If not by literally hugging, just holding hands or having you within a meter radius is good

John Wick

- Is very professional, so no hugs during missions :[

- Will just pry you off and say 'We have a job to do love.'

- He doesn't mean anything rude by it, it's just because he needs his head in the game

- He always gives 100% and he wants you to as well!

- And hugging kind of takes focus and stuff :/

- Although when you both get home safely, he probably still won't reciprocate too much if there are people watching

- Like he won't push you away when you hug him, he'll probably just put one arm around/on you

- However, when it's just you two?

- Will not hesitate to reciprocate and initiate hugs often!

- Hugs from behind are his favourite thing to do :)

Jacket

- Okay so it depends how tough the fight it is tbh

- If it's not going too bad/it's stealth, he'll mostly keep an arm around you when you give him a hug

- If it's getting rough, he'll probably give you a quick pat/ruffle your hair then slide away to focus on fighting (he'll say 'later' or 'focus on the objective')

- Once you two are out of the fight, he'll have no issue hugging back in public

- I think at first he might have gotten a little flustered, but the more you do it the more he expects it (in a /pos way)

- Hugging on his couch, you leaning on him as you snuggle is probably his favourite thing in the world <33

- Will fight/kill anyone who interrupts fr

Sokol

- Will not reciprocate if it's during a heist

- Like John, he wants to give his full attention to the mission, and hugging won't help :'/

- If it's just before the start of the heist/a wave, he'll give a quick squeeze before moving on

- If you successfully pull off a heist, he will pick you up and hold you tight while spinning you around

- No, it doesn't matter if you're bigger than him he will not hesitate to at least try

- 'We did it (Y/n)! Хорошо!' (I'm not good at Russian sorry if it doesn't make sense in this context)

- Once you both get home he doesn't mind hugging back and will also initiate some hugs too!

my friend wrote a message to a youtuber she likes after seeing her comments regarding the recent war between israel and hamas, explaining why supporting hamas is wrong. i wanted to share it with you all so as many people as possible see it.

"Hi, my name is Hila, I live in Israel, and for the past few years I've followed your content and loved watching your videos. Your content has cheered me up in difficult times, which is why it's important for me to write this message. I have been debating whether or not to write this to you for some days now, so I hope you take the time to read it.

I want to start off by saying something that sadly isn't as obvious as it should be these days- I am against the killing of innocent men, women and children in Gaza. I am against most actions that my own government, which I did not vote for, has taken in the past years toward Palestinians. I believe that while the Israel-Palestine conflict is an extremely complex one, it can and must be solved peacefully and with as little loss of life possible.

The problem right now is that Hamas, the terrorist organization that started the war that is happening in my country now, has nothing to do with the Israeli Palestine conflict.

I want to explain this further with the next few very important points.

The first, is the way Hamas treats Palestinians and the Gaza strip, and while I assure you that the facts I'm stating here are true and proven, I urge you to read for yourself upon these issues. Throughout the years, all the donations sent to Gaza for humanitarian purposes, food and medicine, has been taken by Hamas and used to fund weapons.

Every time Hamas fires rockets at Israel, around 15 percent of them land inside Gaza, killing people who live there.

Hamas place their rocket launchers inside schools and hospitals, and surround them with children, so that if the launchers are attacked it will result in the death of children and injured innocent people.

These facts have created the saying known in the middle east- most countries use rockets to protect their citizens, Hamas uses it's citizens to protect their rockets.

The second point, is that because Hamas is a terror organization, they have never been involved in any discussion about the conflict, and as they stated many times that are only interested in the killing of the Jewish people, they can never be involved in these discussions.

The third point is that even in the eyes of countries and activists who are pro Palestine, Hamas has crossed a moral line. They are the same as ISIS, they are the same as the people who are responsible for the bombing in Manchester and the same as the people responsible for 9/11.

They are not an activist group who fight for the freedom of Palestine, they are murders and war criminals who use Gaza and it's innocent citizens as a base and cannon fodder.

I would like for you to know some of the things that Israel is doing right now.

In the IDF there is a protocol for bombing a building in Gaza called "Knock on Door". It means that as soon as a building is targeted, the IDF sends a message to evacuate the building and it's surrounding, as to minimize the loss of life.

Right now, as Israel is in an all out war with Hamas, the IDF has sent out a public announcement in all possible platforms to Gaza to evacuate the area which will be bombed 24 hours before the attack.

While we know that this is war and loss of life is inevitable, the IDF is doing the most it can to minimize Palestinian casualties, while Hamas is telling citizens not to evacuate, and use their own people, who they claim to fight for, as a human shield.

I don't know if you are aware of exactly what Hamas is doing in Israel right now, and I hope for your sake that you have not seen some of the terrible photos and videos that I have seen, but I must tell you what supporting Hamas means right now. It means supporting the killing of families in their homes, lighting houses on fire so the family hiding inside will have to run outside so they can be shot, the killing of children in front of their parents and the killing of parents in front of their children. It means supporting the massacre of people in a music festival. It means supporting the raping and kidnapping of around 130 men, women and children, and the literal beheading of 40 innocent civilians, some children younger than 5 years old. It means supporting the holding of entire families and children hostage. It means supporting sending a mother a video of her son being slaughtered through a message from his own phone which they have. It means supporting the killing of more than 1,300 people.

It means supporting pure evil. Even Palestinians and social activists are saying that this is not what they want, you do not fight for freedom with the blood of innocent people on both sides.

Almost all Israeli citizens, myself included, are extremely aware of the problematic way our country has treated innocent people, but if after reading all I have written here you can still say that you support Hamas, I suggest that you take a look into your own moral values.

One last thing, more than half of Israelis and Jewish people are brown and black."

yeah no problem ! i'm not too experienced with writing platonic things , let alone teenage/child reader situations , but i can most definitely try !

You're adopted by the Payday gang

The gang literally has no fucking clue what to do with you when they find you in front of the safe house

You were dropped off by Twitch at the safe house and Duke was the one to meet with you first

Litearally has no clue what's going on, and the rest of the crew ends up gathering as well to see what was happening

Dallas eventually got a call from Bain, explaining the entire situation

You were adopted by Bain for reasons unknown, and now you kinda just live there

It takes a bit of time for the gang to warm up to you, but once they do, it's pure fun from then on out

Jiro is like the calm parental figure that teaches you coping mechanisms for things like anxiety, depression, or other issues

He's the first one to notice if something's wrong, and he would be the first one you would go to

Duke is like that really cool relative that can and will blabber on about ancient shit

He'll offer to take you to a museum of your choice on his days off, and if you take a real interest in something you see, then he'll probably steal it during a heist just to make you happpy

Sydney, Joy, and Wolf are basically your chaotic family

Joy will teach you the ropes on tech and hacking, Sydney would let you go ham on designing masks, and Wolf would help you try to make your own contraption in his workshop

These situations typically get you and the gang in some trouble [Making a mess with paint, making the most dangerous fucking contraption in humanity, accidentally hacking into some really dangerous/important database, etc]

That's where Aldsotne, Dallas, and Hoxton come in

They're like the calm and tired parents of the gang like oml give them a fucking break

If chaos ensues and it involves you, Dallas will be the first one to hear about it and immediately try to diffuse the situation

Hoxton would be the one to give you a good scolding about it, and Aldstone would be the one cleaning and teen-proofing the place where it happened

Sokol and Bonnie are the more chill ones and often like to teach you how to play games

Sokol will teach you how to play hockey, and he might even take you to an ice skating rink to teach you how to skate [if you don't know how to that is]

Bonnie would teach you the tricks behind gambling. Obviously she won't use real money when playing with you, but she'll use fake chips to demonstrate the stakes that are put on the table when in such situation

Jacket is like that weird and quiet relative that you are a little uncomfortable with but manage to get along with him after a few hours

He'll let you record your own lines for his tape recorder and might even use them during heists

Jacket also likes to offer to play video games with you, and you often beat him in them. Of course, he doesn't complain or anything because if he did, he knew he'd probably be mauled

Ethan and Hila like to invite you to record videos with them

Whether it be a vlog about daily life, a YouTube challenge, or a talent showoff, they always wanna make sure you feel included

Hell, when they post their vlogs, they'll often brag about how epic you are and make sure that you get a nice amount of attention on social media. If you're okay with it that is

All in all, the Payday gang is a pretty good family considering your whole orphan situation

Can I be a teeny tiny bit terrified

ghosts! mysterious creatures! misty forests! psychics! good ingredients, it's "Hide"

sexism rank objectification (female character is ogled/harassed/turned into a sex joke by the doctor and/or a lead we’re supposed to root for and/or the camera): 10/10

sexism rank plot-point (lead female character is only there to serve plot, not to have her emotional interiority explored, or given agency to her emotional interiority): 7/10

interesting complex or pointlessly complex (does the complexity serve the narrative or does it just serve to be confusing as a stand-in for smart, this includes visually): 6/10

furthers character and/or lore and/or plot development (broader question that ties into the previous ones, at least two of these, ideally three should be fulfilled): 6/10

companion matters (the companion doesn’t always have to be there, but if the companion is there, can they function without the doctor– and overall per season how often is the companion the focus or POV of the story): 8/10

the doctor is more than just “godlike” (examines the doctor’s flaws and limitations, doesn’t solve a plot by having it revolve entirely around the doctor’s existence): 9/10

doesn’t look down on previous doctor who (by erasing or mocking its importance, by redoing and “bettering” previous beloved plotpoints or characters, etc.): 6/10

isn’t trying to insert hamfisted sexiness (m*ffat famously talked a lot about how dw should be sexier multiple times, he sucks at writing it): 9/10

internal world has consistency (characters have backgrounds, feel rooted in a place with other people, generally feel like they have Lives): 6/10

Politics (how conservative is the story): 6/10

FULL RATING: 73/100 (if I can count….)

this one's a bit hard to rate, because I don't strictly think all of these needed to be very high, but there were definitely things -- more related to pacing than anything -- that could be improved upon

OBJECTIFICATION: there are three ladies in this episode, Clara of course, Emma Grayling, and the witch-ghost (who is actually a time traveller/spacefarer called Hila) all of whom are chill. Honestly feels like we're beating the curse of the Kissogram at this point!

PLOT-POINT: sooo Emma is kind of mainly there to be psychic/empathic -- she does feel feelings about it, and to be fair, the other guy isn't a super fleshed out character either

Clara has some feelings about being very scared but still quite brave, so she doesn't feel emotionally vacant from the episode + she gets this cryptic warning about the Doctor from Emma (he has a sliver of ice in his heart), which at least gives her a bit of POV

but there's still that annoying overhanging "Clara is a mystery" which is the whole reason it turns out they're there, even though it only comes up at the end + we do get a bit of how Clara might feel about the concept of ghosts, as she questions the Doctor about how they see people -- both living and dead at the same time, all the time: "to you I havent been born yet. And to you I’ve been dead 100 billion years. Is my body out there in the ground? To you I’m a ghost… we’re all ghosts to you. We must be nothing."

it gives the idea of her being introduced as "a mystery" a tad more depth, because in some ways all mortality is a mystery to the Doctor

Hila's interiority is on the whole less explored, which I think is a bit of a shame, because this episode has a bit of pacing drag here and there, which could have been used instead to give her a bit more depth

COMPLEXITY: this is another thing related to the pacing, although it doesn't annoy me much, I will bring it up! for pedanticism! there's a mystery about a ghost that's actually something bleeding through from a pocket universe, so they go there, bring her back, the Doctor is stuck there and it's oooh the creature there is spoooky, and then that kind of takes awhile, and then right at the end we squeeze in the actual plottwist, which is that there are two creatures trying to find their way back to each other

there's a lot of travelling forwards and backwards in time with the Tardis to first discover that Hila is the ghost, which in itself isn't bad + gives the quite neat interaction about people seeming like ghosts to the Doctor generally, but then once they're in the forest it's made out to be creepy in a way that doesn't quite pay off, and spends a looot of time on, comparatively

and there's never enough time given to looking at the creature, until the very last shot (which! I do love!)

CHARACTERS/LORE/PLOT: soooo Clara is "just" an ordinary girl, confirmed. and Clara is getting some insight into how the Doctor might see mortality, and having some kind of feelings about that

COMPANIONS MATTER: yeah, she's very proactive! so proactive in fact that she calls the Tardis a cow, twice! it made me gasp, I tell you, but actually an antagonistic relationship with the Tardis is quite a fun change (also possibly slightly related to her being a Time Anomaly - the Tardis isn't a fan of those, canonically)

anyway she strongarms the Tardis into helping her help the Doctor, which is quite fun. also this little interaction, when the Doctor asks her to accompany him ghost hunting in the spooky house:

The Doctor, after she's willfully not engaging with him: Im giving you a face. Can you see me? Look at my face Clara, giving in: Fiiine. .. dare me! The Doctor, grinning: I dare you. No take-backsies

it's very siblings energy, I enjoy that she's not just running into everything without caring of the danger. sometimes you're scared!

“GODLIKE” DOCTOR: the Doctor gets this one wrong so many times, it's a running gag. one more win for the "just some guy" Doctor fans!

PREVIOUS DOCTOR WHO: there's a fair few Easter Eggs to both Classic!who and Nu!who in it, which is fun if you know what to look for

“SEXINESS”: SIMILARLY ARE WE FREE OF THE CURSE!???

INTERNAL WORLD: a tad rockier, big spooky house, interesting backstories to the characters, check, then pocket universe of spooky forest, cooolcoolcool, but there's something a little sparse about it for me. Nitpicky, but this is the rating to nitpick with!

POLITICS: mmmmm I guess don't judge a book by its cover, and sometimes the spooky alien is actually just not someone you're used to seeing. otherwise kind of a simplistic episode on the whole, although I like the link between the young woman who describes herself as an "assistant" and her many times great granddaughter who's a space pioneer

(although, I've gotta be honest, there was a moment where I wish we could have cut out the guy and made this a lesbian cross-time romance instead, it would have been great and focused the episode a little!)

FULL RATING: 73/100 (if I can count….)

the biggest best thing of this episode is the cool alien design, and also the space-faring woman who is thought to be a ghost, and these are unfortunately the bits we get the least of. but that's not to say this episode is terrible

it's a very fun little episode, with more bits between Clara and the Doctor exploring their dynamic, as well as Clara and the Tardis! (not enough companions have a lot of feelings about the Tardis in my opinion, if I were travelling in the Tardis I'd be cooing over her 24/7)

I'm not quite sure how to do this as ive never requested something like this before but I shall try.

I am 5'3, very pale with lots of freckles. Thick, curly, auburn hair, not quite orange enough to be qualified as a ginger but enough that I have to be wary on international hit a ginger day 😔 My hairs just past shoulder length and pretty messy so I usually tie it back, except for my bangs which are somehow even more messy, I tend to just brush them aside.

I'm a Sagittarius, INFP. I have a cat despite being severely allergic to them. My cat is my favourite thing in the wkrld. Literally my best friend, I don't care if that makes me a loser. She's great. And fluffy. And adorable.

I'm pretty sarcastic, sometimes I get carried away, to the point that I'm mean. I've been trying to do better though. I have pretty bad anger issues, I used to punch holes in walls when I was 3-14. Haven't done it in a while but I still feel anger most of the time. It's just that instead of reacting with violence I react with a cold sort of malice. I still have those out bursts of burning rage where I shout and throw things, but my last one was like a year ago so I'm pretty happy with how far I've come!

I've got ADHD. Common hyper-fixations include animals of all kinds. Crime, torture methods, serial murder etc... I've unfortunately become pretty desensitized to the kind of stuff I learn.

Ive always been creative. I love to read and write. I currently own over 500 books and I've read most of them. Recently I've been trying to get into gaming. I've only ever played games on the Wii and DS before. I love Kirby, the only two games I've ever finished are Kirby ones. I've even watched the anime.

I write mostly fantasy stuff, with magic and dragons. Love dragons. When I was younger I taught myself draconic just because I could. I do tend to write things a bit darker, I love a tortured protagonist. My current WIP shows an assassin joining a normal guild to maintain their cover (as they didn't kill a guild member who saw them and need to keep an eye on them to make sure they don't snitch). Then with time the assassin finds themselves getting attached to the guild and it's members, especially the younger ones. But oh no, their identity gets out and everyone turns against them! The whole things very convoluted honestly. Lots of blood and violence. I find it cathartic.

I also like to draw and paint though I'm not great at either. I tend to like to collecting things. I'm currently collecting the vintage Fear Street books- I started reading them like years ago now but since the movies come out they're so much harder to come by. I've only 40 or so to go though! I was probably too young to read them, won't go into details but there were deaths and scenes of violence in those books that I had no business reading when I was six.

I also collect Pokemon cards, though I'm not buying them as often. I wanted to get all the Eeveelotions, but then they came out with Sylveon and I quit because honestly how dare they? I was only two away and they made a new one. And it wasn't even a dragon type :( My big claim to fame is that I have a number of first edition cards, which is super fun!

I love music so much. I listen to pretty much every genre. My biggest are metal, indie and punk rock. But I also really like musicals. Right now my top songs are probably Ride the Lightning, Fleur de Lis, Ophelia, I Can't Decide, Don't Go Breaking My Heart, the other side of Hollywood and Mr Loverman. I play the baritone/euphobium- think a small tuba. I also play the guitar and harmonica (self taught!). I'm looking into getting an otamatone. My dream instrument, though, is the bagpipes.

My favourite movie of all time is How To Train Your Dragon. SAW III is a close second. Idk why I like SAW III so much, it makes me so angry I literally shake just thinking of it. But I also find it hilarious for the same reason it infuriates me. The main character is horrible. I make a point of watching it with every friend i make. All the homies hate Jeff.

My favourite season is winter because I love wearing toques and sweaters, curling up in fuzzy blankets, snuggling with my cat. I love the snow and the way it sounds beneath boots. I tend to dress mainly in black and red. Ripped jeans, steel toed boogs. I've got a ring in the shape of a snake and another with a bunch of eyes carved in it. I have a padlock necklace with an accompanying skeleton key necklace because I like things to fit together, y'know? I have a fairly eclectic earring collection. My favourite pair is a silver set made to look like meat cleavers.

So sorry for rambling, I have no idea what to say and ended up saying way too much but whatever. Thanks a bunch and congrats again! Go drink some water if you haven't in a while!

He makes it look like an illegal drug deal sometimes, and he's willing to pay waaaaay too much money for you to feel safe about your financial future, but he gets everything for you. Don't give up on your Eeveelution collection yet. He's got a lead.

He'll watch SAW III with you. He doesn't really understand why you continue to watch it if you hate Jeff so much, but it makes him feel soft inside to watch something you enjoy so much with you.

He birthed Satan from his wrath. He understands anger. If you get overly angry, he understands and will help you figure things out, calm down, or slice a bitch. He's flexible.

You'd gotten dressed to go out for the day, in your black ripped jeans and boots, a red blouse Lucifer had gotten for you, and that new pair of dragon earrings he'd also gotten for you. After finishing getting dressed, you headed to his office.

You knew he was the avatar of pride, but sometimes it was easy to forget until you saw him practically preening like this. He stood up from his desk, and took your hand, just staring at you for a moment.

"What is it, Luci? Is my beauty leaving you speechless?" You said with a playful eye roll.

He gave a booming laugh, before he drew you closer, and whispered, "Have you ever noticed how you tend to prefer my colors?"

"Huh, I guess I didn't," you said. "Anyway, where are we going today?"

He smiled, and again, his pride was staggering.

"We are going to practice your draconic, my love," he said, collecting a couple things and starting to leave the room.

"Wait, so that means..."

"Yes," he smiled. "I'm going to introduce you to my pet dragon."

19. Do you enjoy creating OC’s or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters.

CANON CHARACTERS I am SO bad at writing OCs I have an original wip that I have been workshopping for literally 5 years and still have no idea what I’m doing with the characters I created for the show I also created. The only OC I’ve ever inserted in a fic was Hila who *technically* wasn’t an OC so yeah canon characters are so much easier to write for me 😂

34. How much of your personal life/experience do you include in your fics?

Very little. In my owl house fics it’s almost all purely fiction/nothing I’ve ever experienced, in my original piece I’m writing which I still haven’t named after 5 years is heavily influenced by my own personal life down to the main character owning a chubby little corgi lol

If you were going to write an arc for Mera, what would you do with her?

I honestly haven’t thought about it much but I’d like to see more of her conflict with Hila, her twin sister + more of Xebel. Tula can guest star in the story too since I want to see more interactions between Mera and her but no men besides Nereus maybe just so Mera can beat her ex-husband up

no other men bc I was tired of Orm’s ass in Mera: Queen of Atlantis and I’m an Orm stan 😭 Arthur can take a break from Mera for a little bit too, let her breathe on her own.

Anyway, just think there should be more stories about Hila and Mera being twin sisters and Hila being a dark reflection of Mera.

How to Love your Daughter by Hila Blum

My weakness for stories about a complicated mother daughter relationship made me have such high hopes for this book, but then I ended up sitting there like “ok, that’s it?”. We follow it from the mother’s perspective through the whole time. In this time we learn why she has never met her grandchildren and why she also hasn’t any contact with her daughter in the first place. And this sounds promising, especially since she is at a point that she decides to stalk her daughter, finding out where she now lives, does etc, but never decides to talk to her. But we also get this anachronistic order of events and that was so confusing to me way too often. First of all I have listened to it as an audiobook, but the writing just stayed the same in whatever timeline we were. Maybe the physical book did a better job on showing the anachronistic order, but while listening to it I only realised that we are in a certain timeline at the point where for example the mother says something related to her daughters age like school(-work). This realisation came often mid chapter. A thing that I liked tho was how the mother reads some existing books and reflects on them. At the end of the book there was a little list with the mentioned books, and idk I haven’t read something like that before. I mean yes, authors obviously naming books like Romeo and Juliet in their work, but this book hasn’t said either another author or their works name. Just a “I read this one book about a girl, that ….” and this gave me a bigger authenticity and depth of the character to me. In general I think the writer does a great job on describing motherhood (ig, I’m no mother), but at one point it also got so ducking weird. Which I have no clue on if those are normal mother thoughts or just in fact insane. There was this scene where the daughter was an infant and the mother pretended to eat her because she is so cute, but the mother’s thought process escalated low key and I was seriously thinking that she will eat her ducking child. In all it wasn’t really giving what I had expected of the book.

Paris: The Memoir by Paris Hilton

Another audiobook I have listened to. It was a little hard to get into it, because I have seen unclarley’s video about it, where she basically said everything that one needs to know. So it was a lot of repetition for me, but you know, I still wanted to have my own experience with it. As someone growing up and living in Germany I have known the name Paris Hilton as well as the Hilton Hotels, but I never knew what made her famous in the first place. I knew her as the blondie who has nothing in her brain, only partying. And I think that she does a great job reflecting on her party life, her relationships, media and mostly herself. Hilton links most of her behaviour to her back then undiagnosed ADHD, while also mentioning that everything she has done isn’t an excuse for anything, but that these things made her the person she is today. Yet it is “just” Hilton’s perspective on things with a great self awareness and the ability to reflect, while also being true to herself.

Sucker Punch by Roy Williams

My first uni read of 2024. I had to read it for a presentation for my afropessimism class and so I wasn’t surprised by its potential. (do not want to add any more thoughts, because I have my semester break and I don't want to think to hard about uni)

Be not Afraid of Love: Lessons on Fear, Intimacy, and Connection by Mimi Zhu

The youtuber withcindy told in a review that people who are into crystals could enjoy this book. So this and the title were an obvious sign that I should get a copy. I’m always down to grow as a person, but this book wasn’t really giving me any tools on how to do so. The chapters are about a specific feeling on which the author reflected on by mostly linking it to their abusive relationship with X. This makes one clear where the problem with for example shame is and how this also can affect people around us. But besides some rhetorical questions, which may or may not be useful, there weren't really examples on how to leave this shame behind. Maybe it’s my fault for seeing it as a self help book rather than a memoir/autobiography. In all, I think that for me I could take mostly out of the last chapters that were about community, miracles and love, because in them I got some sort of an idea on how to change my views and behaviour to get that feeling of (self-) love.

The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath by Sylvia Plath

This book was so long on my tbr and I have finally decided to buy it by gifting it to myself for Christmas. I sometimes forget how personal and private it actually is what I am reading. Plath’s writing style in her journals and her letters sound so thought through, every word seems so well chosen that I forget that this is a journal and not a fiction story of a girl growing into a woman. There is a kind of comfort in reading Plath thinking and reflecting about herself, boys and men, the meaning of life and also her wish for a writing career. Even this well known person was still a woman who wrote her thoughts and worries down (but in A WAY). I am just 30% in and I take my time reading and processing it.

Finding Out Their S/o is a Vigilante

Shoto Todoroki

Shoto heard about the famous vigilante from his father, since he was trying to track the person down.

Apparently the vigilante were pretty well known around the hero community for taking care of quite a few villains, but they were still using their quirk illegally so the heroes had to get whoever it may be.

Honestly Shoto didn’t really mind vigilantes. He knew what they were doing was illegal, but weren’t they just doing the same things as heroes.

Though as day by day went by, the vigilante continued to slip from heroes grasp and Shoto’s father grew more frustrated.

The man started ranting at the dinner table about the culprit. Shoto barely listened until he heard his father say something.

Endevour began to explain the person’s quirk and oh boy did it sound all too familiar to Shoto.

His S/o. The love of his life, had the same exact quirk that his father was describing.

At that moment, everything came back the boy. You’re struggle of not being able to get into UA. Trying your best to improve in hopes of becoming a hero, but ultimately giving up.

Was this what you have been doing all this time? Fighting villains illegally because you couldn’t get into a hero school.

He stood up abruptly and made his way to the door, earning a few protests from his father, but he was already out the door.

Shoto immediately went to your place. He needed to know if this unknown person was you.

As soon as he arrived, he knocked on the door and you answered quickly.

“Hey Sho. What’s up?”

“What do you do when I’m not with you?” Was all he asked.

You seemed pretty weirded out by the question and just told him that you do normal things like studying and whatnot.

Shoto shook his head. “No. Why are you out fighting dangerous villains with no lisense?” He got straight to the point.

You looked shocked. How did he figure it out?

Shoto could immediately tell the answer by your expression. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He said.

That’s when you teared up and soon they pooled over and down your cheeks. Shoto did not expect that, so he ushered you into the place, sat you down on the couch, and wrapped his arms around you.

You started apologizing, telling him that you just felt so insignificant to him and that you wanted desperately to be a hero.

He ran you fingers through your hair as you continued to explain. “(Y/n) I’m not mad. I just wish you told me. What you’re doing is so dangerous and I just want you to be safe.”

He continued. “Listen, I don’t want to stop you, but let’s figure out a way we can do this without putting your life in danger, okay?”

You nodded your head and gave him a loving kiss. “Okay.”

Katsuki Bakugo

It wasn’t hard for him to connect the peices together.

You would randomly disappear on him and wouldn’t come back for hours. And when you did come back, there were sudden wounds all over your body and you refused to answer any of his questions.

Katsuki had also noted the fact that you seemed to get physically stronger. Were you training or something?

He was starting to get frustrated on what you were keeping to yourself and more importantly, he was a bit worried.

He would never admit it, but whatever you were doing was hurting you and he didn’t like it at all.

Then one night, he was watching TV and a news station started talking of an unknown vilgilante.

They named places they have been fighting at and other things about those cases and immediately Bakugo noticed that these are similar to your weird disappearances.

So he started tracking when you would leave mysteriously and what time you came back, as well as any injuries you obtain. Then he compared them to the vigilantes movements.

And wouldn’t you beleive it, Everyhting matched up perfectly. Every single time you left, another villain was tooken down, and every injury you got matched up to the fight that would be described on the news.

He was furious, he didn’t give a shit about the fact that you fighting villains, but he hated that you hid this the entire time from him.

He waited for you to get back and then confronted you on the issue, raising his voice immediately.

“What the fuck have you been doing on these stupid trips (Y/n)?!” He already knew the answer though.

You tried stuttered out a random excuse, but he’s taking none of it.

He smacked the note book with all the tracking he did in your hands. “Oh yeah? Then what’s this, did you think it was a good idea to go out and fight villains on your own like some idiot!”

Youtried to answer but couldn’t even get a word in as he continued yelling about how idiotic this is and how you should have told him.

You weren’t one to get angry too often, but this was pissing you off, he wasn’t even letting you explain yourself.

“God Katsuki, can you shut up! Yes, I’ve been doing this and I’m sorry, but I needed to! What do you want from me?!” It was turning into a full blown fight at this point.

“I want you to tell me when you’re going out and putting your dumbass in danger! Goddamit, I was worried!!!” He yelled, before pulling you into his embrace. He seemed on the verge of tears, which silenced you since Katsuki never really cried.

“Just stop fucking hiding things from me.”

Tenya Iida

It was supposed to be a date night, but you ended up cancelling on your boyfriend.

He was definitely not happy about it since he expected you to be able to go. He was asking what you were doing, but you just said that your parents needed you help with something, so he let it go quickly.

Even if you weren’t able to go, Tenya still decided to at least go to a park nearby to take a walk by himself.

It was pretty peaceful and he was enjoying himself until he heard commotion about a block away.

He rushed there immediately to see a villain in the street. There was a person fighting it as well and at first, he thought it was a pro hero and was about to leave it to them.

Though for a spilt second, he got a closer look at the face of the fighter and recognized it immediately. It was you, his S/o.

What were you doing? You didn’t have a basic education in being a hero, so why were you fighting? And how were you doing so well?

Tenya was about to run and get you away from the danger, he was extremely worried about you getting injured, but before he could even move, you had knocked out the villain.

You sprinted to an alleyway to hide for when the actual heroes came. You didn’t want to be caught after all.

Tenya of course, followed you into the alleyway and called out to you. You froze and turned around.

“O-oh, hey. W-what are you doing here?” You asked awkwardly.

“What were you just doing (Y/n)? You know that fighting villains is the pro heroes job, so why were you fighting them?” He was trying to get straight to the point.

You tried to come up with an excuse. You couldn’t tell him that you have been doing this for awhile.

“Have you done this before? I demand you explain to me what has been happening.” He said in his stern voice.

You knew you weren’t going to be able to get out of this, so you just fessed up. Telling the boy about your need to fight villains and save people and how you became a vigilante.

He seemed to get frustrated with you. He lectured you about how dangerous this is and that you shouldn’t have been doing this since you’re not a hero. “This is illegal, do you understand that.”

You were increasingly getting irritated as well. “Stop talking to me like I’m a child Tenya. Of course I know, but I need to do this. Plus you’re not one to talk, you literally tried to kill someone in revenge for your brother!”

You knew you hit a rough spot for him, but you were just so angry that he wasn’t understanding you. He was trying to say something, but you knew he was just going to scold you like a toddler again.

“You know what, never mind, I’ll talk to you about this later.” You continued to walk past him and run to your house, leaving the boy behind.
