This doesn't have anything to do with anything, but i had a talk with a friend a few days ago, about shonen biasis and the way this shapes our expectations, and mha came up so i remembered how so many people apply those biasis HEAVILY into the manga, to the point that they sound like they're looking for a different story.

And one of those things that it seemed to be MOST talked about is exactly bkdk's relationship.

I have seen many times people from the fandom (sometimes really angrily) point out how in most cases Katsuki seems to basically take up not one, but four roles in Izuku's life and this includes putting him in situations that people associate with the MC's love interest, and it is weird that, despite Izuku "having a girl" for people to make assumptions about, he seems to completely repulse any female character that could be the counter part to Izuku's.

And this made us wonder if Katsuki's placement in those roles and lack of interest was made specifically because the author precisely did not want the actions that both do for each other as romantic but a whole another thing entirely, as a subversion for the these classic tropes, as he did by making the conflict between Ochako and Himiko not a "rivals fighting for the affection of a boy" but something that is connected to the plot of these characters instead.

Oh you bet! I am always down to talk about this, because I think about it a lotttt.

This reminds me, recently I remembered a funny habit I used to have with books I read. Like, back in middle school. I used to start by flipping directly to the last page and reading the final sentence. Usually this did not spoil anything whatsoever, but sure enough, by the time I read through the whole book, that sentence would take on new meaning.

So I started musing about what it would be like if only I could do this with bnha, if everything was already out. It made me feel so nostalgic…

Will the last panel be something grand, or something small? Hopeful or sad? Distant? Intimate? A parting message to the reader? Will it look like almost nothing of consequence to the unknowing eye—yet burst with hard-hitting subtext?

Of course I wonder about all the twists and reveals that might be still ahead of us, but it’s kinda soothing to think about how the whole thing could be put to rest. Because then I realize I’m not worried.

For once, this is not because the story is following so many tropes so predictably that I know exactly, in so many words, how it will end. It’s more like the story is a close friend who I’ve gotten to know well enough that everything they do is so “them” it makes me smirk. I'm often marveling at how Horikoshi has managed to pull all this off. How is it that (at least here in the west) people who aren't really paying attention call it basic and cookie-cutter. Even a Japanese animator called it "classic," and this interview shows such obvious dissonance between Hori and the interviewer, just... wow. But it's so clear that bnha has broken just about every rule in the book at this point, so much so that I struggle to condense it into words. I'm like--*gestures broadly at everything*--why haven't more people picked up on it??

Yet we still get bombarded with people saying "it's a shonen, c'mon, we all know how this will end." Um. No you don't. I KNOW there has to be a bunch of people who are secretly frustrated by Kacchan taking up all the roles and getting all the moments. It's not even in a mysogynistic way, because Kacchan is the most anti-dudebro character imaginable. Bkdk's relationship isn't intended for them and they know it... and you know what, I'm starting to ramble. You've heard all this before. The thing I should really be focusing on in your ask is the part where you mentioned how you and your friend were speculating about bkdk ending up as "a whole other thing entirely" rather than simply romantic.

Well, fuck it, I've been biting my tongue, but now might as well be the time I talk about this. I got into a bit of a disagreement with someone over it once and then I shut up. Because it's very difficult to approach the subject without being lumped in with those people who see bkdk as "brotherly" (ew) or otherwise try to push some "crisis of male friendship" agenda, or at the very least without being accused of enabling people to make excuses against bkdk being canon ad infinitum. So let me be clear that I do NOT want bkdk to have an ambiguous or open ending. I want their complexity and importance to be acknowledged. I want them to use their words. I think we may have created a bit of a false dichotomy there.

I am aromantic, and to suggest romantic relationships are inherently the most important and intimate goes against every fiber of my being. I also reject the idea that cut-and-dry gay representation is more desirable just because it is more easily understood by the masses than aspec representation or representation of relationships "beyond" both romantic and platonic. We recognize how ridiculous it is for people to expect Izu*cha at this point, right? Well, the reason they're so confident anyway isn't just because of heteronormativity. It's also because of amatonormativity, the assumption that romantic attraction trumps all: no matter how much focus bkdk get, Izuku blushed at Ochako, so that automatically makes them more "important." THAT is the notion that I want to challenge most. More than anything, I want bkdk's relationship to be fully acknowledged because they have so much more going for them than just attraction.

You and your friend make an excellent point, that it would be very much in line with Horikoshi's taste and the patterns of his writing so far if he chose to subvert the shonen romance trope not just by giving it to two boys, but also by disregarding its premise entirely. It's unlikely he'd try to stuff them into such a copy-paste ending right at the end.

So maybe they won't get the blushy confession, the obligatory kiss, the wedding, the 2.5 kids and a white picket fence. That's fine, we shouldn't pretend those tired tropes are suddenly revolutionary just because they're gay. But don't be disappointed! Without them, we have more room for things that are actually personally meaningful to bkdk to stand out and receive the nuance they deserve: talking through their feelings openly, building each other up like no one else can, understanding each other like no one else can, smiling at each other, embracing, holding hands, rushing to the other in the hospital, being glued at the hip (or even closer), healing mutual trauma, putting each other first in all things. Maybe we'll also get confirmation on Ochako's side as she moves on from her crush on Izuku. You know what other shonen manga took this exact angle as a way of subverting tropes and presenting genuine complexity? Blue Flag! There are so many ways to do bkdk justice.

Even a kiss isn't out of the question, if the right opportunity comes along. A perfect example of what I'm talking about is Good Omens (major season 2 spoilers) because the kiss between Crowley and Aziraphale was not at all about canonizing them. It was an expression of pain and desperation that just made sense at that particular moment. Neil Gaiman was adamant that if it took that kiss to understand the context of their relationship, you really weren't paying attention. I respect the hell out of that.

Recently I was even daydreaming about bkdk getting something similar to the sort of uh, shall we say tasteful nudity, that togachako got, because of how Izuku appears in the vestige realm.

Ya know like not in an nsfw way but in like a "this is so deeply intimate and soft that I feel like I'm intruding" kind of way... yeah. Because it represents vulnerability and openness and acceptance of someone as they are. And I don't care if people call that bait. It's not. It's beautiful. It’s honest.

It’s funny how some shippers think the lack of detail given to Marisol and Natalia mean that they’re not endgame and Buddie will still be canon. When to me it’s the opposite. That WAS the end, the presumed end, and it was so important to the show that Eddie and Buck end up with women that the women themselves didn’t matter at all. They gave more attention to one-off victim characters than they did to the woman halves of Eddie & Buck’s supposed happy endings. The message isn’t “this won’t last.” The message is “the femaleness of this character is all that matters because straight. Straight straight hetero straight. 🙃” I genuinely think Buddie would have more of a chance if they had bothered to tell us why Buck likes Natalia so much, or why Eddie thinks there’s a spark with Marisol. Given us anything about the characters themselves. But they gave us female blank slates because they wanted to message that the female part is the most important thing. So it’s just wild to me to see people interpreting it as a positive sign. Which I guess maybe I’m just a pessimist, but it looks a lot like denial to me.

I've also seen a LOT of comments about how "well they had to wrap everything up nicely because they thought it was the end of the show so I get it, they didn't want to rush if it was Buddie" and like....*Chidi voice* You DO get how that's worse right? Because a) they could have absolutely had an open ending with Buck picking out his own couch and Eddie being content with his life right now and how full it is with family and friends and Chris, b) they COULD have done ambiguous Buddie with the Buckley-Diaz boys on the couch together playing video games which could be seen as platonic OR romantic so everyone is happy because it's a fan favorite dynamic AND they have been shown as a family for years so they don't need the build up, or c) they could have gone full on Buddie and yeah it would suck to not get more but again, the build up is already kinda there AND it would break the internet if people knew THAT was the finale and the buzz might have gotten them picked up if ABC hadn't already made the announcement.

They literally chose the worst, most lazy option that even outside of Buddie very specifically goes against things the show outright stated in the text that both Buck and Eddie needed to do this season wrt their dating lives. Which....to ME is a bit of a headscratcher because it says they KNEW the backlash that would happen about these relationships (we had the hint about Marisol coming back but Natalia? If that live with Aisha hadn't happened we would have been fucking BLINDSIDED they kept it so under wraps). So rather than commit to telling the arcs well and just ignoring the backlash from "a small part of the viewership", they waited until the last second to drop these half-formed love interests into relationships with Buck and Eddie at a time they thought the show was done and they wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. So which is it? Is the Buddie fandom so small it's inconsequential and we should all just be quiet and realize the show doesn't need us and therefore will never give us what we want no matter how much noise we make? Or is the backlash from social media actually something that's taken into consideration and the show had to make sure to get to the end of the season without alienating that part of the fanbase? They can't have it both ways. Either we're not important enough to be taken seriously in which case it's just shitty storytelling, or we're loud enough to cause serious problems so they have to do jussssst enough to keep the backlash down until they don't have to anymore because the show is over. Which sounds a lot like "shipbait" to me.

Hi! I’m pretty new in the fandom but I noticed you wanted us to share some headcanons of our dear boy so here’s some of mine!

He likes the colour amber (idk why but I think yellow or green fits him)

He makes little things for his Mama from time to time (or whenever he has the time) such as fashioning a wire bracelet (he makes sure it’s not rusty or anything) with little beads he managed to find around the farm and shyly gift it to Luda Mae

Luda Mae wears them on different days and sometimes keeps them in a box to avoid losing them

Thomas loves rainy days.

Being in an unforgivingly hot climate, he cherishes the cooling sensation whenever the rain comes (also because it’s easier to wash off all the blood on him and/or around the farm)

He does it by either sitting on the ground outside of their house with his head up, eyes closed in bliss or standing up

Luda Mae always calls him inside, telling him he’ll be sick but she also knows how relieving it can be

Hoyt’s an ass but there are times where he praises Tommy for his personal work (if he’s feeling nice) and Tommy always holds on to those moments

Tommy likes crows, for some reason

Doesn’t go near them but will always throw crumbs of bread or more to them and watch as they peck the ground

He might or might not be secretly happy when one comes near him willingly or even perches on him

Sorry if I couldn’t share any Tommy and S/O related headcanons😅 I believe there are so many good ones in the fandom already and you are one of the best at writing for our dear Tommy

♡ Thomas loves warm earth colors, and the colors you picked out are exactly right. Not only do they coincide with nature, but they actually tend to make people feel safer and more secure, and happier as well! And after everything Thomas has been through, I can see him seeking those things in abundance, and so, without even realizing it, he ended up clinging to the colors that brings those out.

♡ Thomas started making little trinkets and jewelry when he was a kid, as he's always had access to various tools and resources to do it, and he's always enjoyed working with his hands. Most of the time he ends up either keeping the trinket himself in a small shoebox he keeps in his closet, but if something turns out really nice, he gives it to Luda Mae who fusses over it and happily adds it to her collection. It goes straight in her jewelry box, which now has a mix of priceless antique jewelry and Thomas' handmade trinkets. She wears them often, with and without her other jewelry, and treats them as if they're just as precious as the few pearls or diamonds she owns.

♡ Rain is always a blessing in small southern communities, it waters their crops, prevents wildfires (though lightning loves to cause those), floods their shallow ponds and creeks, and relieves some of the heat that constantly plagues the towns. So, rain is already precious, and Thomas loves the rain. He's gotten caught in the occasional shower more than once while walking to and from the slaughterhouse, and it always seems to take him twice as long to get home when he does. It provides relief from the heat, and on his skin, the cool rain is soothing on the irritation, as most of the time skin conditions cause painful itching and burning that the cool water helps ease. (I also believe he uses cold wet rags to provide a similar relief)

♡ This is something in particular I'm passionate about. I see so, so, many people make Hoyt out to be abusive to his family, and Thomas in particular, and it's just so wrong. He's an ass, for sure, he'll poke fun at Thomas and has definitely done wrong by him, but he's by no means abusive. Thomas is like a son to him, and vice versa. We can see a clear shift in Thomas' behavior towards the end of The Beginning after Hoyt gives him the positive feedback he craves. At the beginning, he's hesitant, and won't join his own family in the dining room for dinner, (most likely due to self isolation and poor self esteem making him believe he doesn't deserve to join them at the table- the entire town treated him as less than human, and after you live with something like that for so long, you eventually start to believe it). Towards the end of the movie, after Hoyt gives him the positive affirmation on his new 'face', Thomas becomes more confident, not needing to be invited into the dining room by Hoyt, simply feeling more assured that he does belong there.

♡ Crows are so smart. Birds in general are. (Pigeons EXCLUDED- I see your eyes, birds, I know you're not real...). When I was sixteen I had developed a cult of birds at my apartment complex that followed me around and would even land on me and rest on my shoulders until they were ready to leave. All it took was a little food and kind attitude and they trusted me enough to hang around. I can see the same thing happening with Thomas. He loves animals and nature, I mean come on, he lives on a farm, and just because people rejected him doesn't mean that animals did as well. In fact, I can see Thomas taking refuge with the various animals the Hewitt family has. They were practically his only friends, and he has such a calm demeanor about him, I can easily see birds being naturally attracted to him. And crows are probably some of the smartest birds, so I have no doubt he has a cult of birds of his own that hang around the Hewitt residence.

I hate it when people discount Aziraphale without understanding him as a character. Partly, it's more because people like to see bad guys doing good things. And if a demon saves children from death, it means more to them than if an angel did it, even if he lied to heaven and put himself in danger. Essentially: “he’s an angel, it’s in his nature to be kind, so what’s surprising?”

I'm not against Crowley. I like both characters, but I don't like how there are too many defenders of Crowley, while Aziraphale is constantly made into a villain. After the second season, they were generally credited with clear, disgusting images - a poor puppy suffering from unrequited love and a stupid angel who broke his heart. This superficiality is so annoying. As if only Crowley is feeling bad and only he is suffering, which means only he should be pitied.

My friend and I are currently watching a show where the bad guy who starts out doing terrible things becomes a sweetheart in the middle of the season 2. And I watch how she sheds tears from every good deed he does, as if she had completely forgotten what he did a couple of episodes ago. And I have to endure this with a mixture of misunderstanding and rejection: “Are you really serious?” There was literally a scene where a character consciously kills the main character's brother on purpose and then a couple minutes later says he's sorry. “See? He repents,” says a friend. As if that would change the fact that he killed a person (don't worry, the brother survived thanks to a lucky accident (killer doesn’t know it) but imagine if he actually killed him and then came to apologize). One good deed by a bad person always overshadows all other bad deeds, making him appear good.

Also, I think it's all about Tennant's popularity and his image as a demon. I have nothing against both, but often, if a bad character is played by a handsome sexy actor, the idol of millions and the owner of hearts, then he is loved more according to the standard. Just like in the series that my friend and I are watching now.

It’s annoying too how many people sometimes turn a blind eye to how “unkind” Crowley can be. Like, “you can forgive him everything because he once did a good deed.” I'm not saying Crowley is bad. No need to attack me with slippers. I'm talking about the tearful art that makes Crowley look broken and Aziraphale cold and cruel. I'm talking about hurt fanfiction, in which Crowley suffers more than me in the deepest depression (calm down already, seriously, I have enough suffering, give me a rainbow, fluff, romance and love). All these jokes about Aziraphale having to do an apology dance in the third season (despite this, I’m also looking forward to such a scene). Analysis on TikTok, where the angel is often called stupid and naive (the coffee theory just kills me, I fucking hate it).

Yes, I love memes. That's funny. Keep making jokes about the ineffable bureaucracy speed running their relationship in a year, while these idiots have gotten nowhere in 6,000 years. And about Nina and Maggie, the heads of the “Geordie Shore” program. About Metatwat, who got into the hands the Book of Life and he decided to shit us a disgusting fanfic. Carry on, I like it. But as long as these are jokes and not a hostile imposition.

There have already been so many quarrels about this. And all because people like one character more than another. And here we again return to the fact that we ourselves constantly separate them. We devalue one thing or another, and then hope for a happy ending.

This established clichéd system in the fandom is simply killing me. Therefore, I am grateful to every person who digs deeper than the sand sprinkled on top.

5. do you respond to comments? i try to, always! i don’t think there’s many i haven’t responded to and if i haven’t it’s usually because it’s a friend of mine and i’ve already messaged them here or on discord LOL

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending not any of them really?? i’m a Happily Ever After kinda person. i mean i have one fic that’s a scene rewrite from Your Lie in April but it doesn’t actually change the canon outcome of the show which if you’ve seen it you’ll know it’s pretty “angsty” but i feel like that doesn’t count because i didn’t write that yknow

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? as previously established i’m a big fan of HEAs. literally all of them lol. although bad habit certainly has a pretty cheesy ending

8. do you get hate on fics? i have but that was way before my ao3 days. i honestly can’t recall if any of my ao3 fics have gotten hate? people are pretty chill on there in my experience. Fanfiction.net is a whole other animal though

9. do you write smut? if so what kind? oh absolutely. i’m a sexually active adult and i tend to both read and write about sexually active adults so i feel like there’s really no surprise there

10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written? i have before but i’m not really a fan of them now, reading or writing. i wrote a superwholock fic in like, 2016, and that’s about it hahaha

Go to Bed Dumbass. i stated writing it when i wasn’t in a good place mentally and i can’t even look back on it without getting bad memories. also i just had no idea where i was going with the plot. and i’m not in the bnha fandom anymore lol. i hate having unfinished fics on my page and have literally gone back to update years-old fics before but not this one.

16. what are your writing strengths? i like to think my prose is complicated enough to sound professional but not so over the top that my writing isn’t easily digestible. i feel like i can write dialogue pretty well too

17. what are your writing weaknesses? i feel like i have a problem with repeating myself lol. like i use the same conjunctions a lot. and i struggle with action/fight sequences but i feel like i’m getting better at those the more i write them (i didn’t write them at all really until i started writing TES fics)

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i mean. i feel like this is so situational. if the dialogue is crucial to the plot and it’s going to be a chore to make the average reader look up what it is? i don’t really care for it. but if it’s something off handed that doesn’t really change the plot or is more of a funny joke that a reader can get by either A) happening to speak the language or B) going out of their way to look it up and in that situation it’s more of a fun little bonus and not needed for them to understand the story beat that it’s a part of.

19. first fandom you wrote for? one piece. in 2013. lol

20. favorite fic you’ve written? i really really like somewhere the light won’t reach us. it’s a character study of a TES oc so it’s honestly closer to an original work than it is a fanfiction but i think it turned out really nice. i also think liebesfreud is a really good story and i'm in the process of making it into an original novel (with different character names obv)

Boruto Shipping Opinions

I’m gonna put a brief aside here to say two quick things to keep in mind before reading:

I am not going to go into great detail or analysis here because I’m holding off on that until the manga wraps up.

I am caught up with the manga, I am not caught up with the anime. I have watched up until the arc the new team 7 infiltrate a prison, the second chunin exams, and whatever clips/moments I’ve stumbled upon being discussed. I am not an avid fan, I do not know all the ins and outs of character dynamics, and I don’t even keep up with that part of the fandom. I have no horse in this race.

I don’t like this ship, and I don’t know if that’s an unpopular opinion. I’ll try to avoid saying “they have sibling vibes” or “they’re just friends” because, coming from someone who has used that excuse in the past, it is very difficult to explain/defend argument. So much so that now it just comes across as cheap to me.

I will, however, say that I don’t like it for the same reason I don’t like NejiTen. It comes across as “he was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it anymore obvious?” It feels like it stems from the idea that boys and girls can’t just be friends. If the dynamic was introduced with an edge of romance (like how Naruto and Sakura’s dynamic was introduced with Naruto having a crush on her), maybe it would be a different story. But as of right now, it feels like the fandom reading into something that doesn‘t need to be read into.

I hate to say this, but I’m guessing this ship stemmed from SasuSaku fans reading them as “next gen SasuSaku”. Look, everyone can ship whatever they want or choose to refrain from shipping, but I’m sick of the fandom projecting old ships on new dynamics. I have seen BoruSara compared to SNS, NaruSaku, and SasuSaku (for some reason). I have seen BoruSumi compared to NaruHina. I have seen MitsuSara compared to SasuSaku and SuiKarin. I have seen KawaSara compared to SasuSaku. Every single time I thought to myself, “The manga starts with Boruto asserting that he’s not his dad and this isn’t his dad’s story.” I get that comparisons will naturally arise since it’s a sequel series, but these kids are not carbon copies of their parents and they don’t have the same dynamics their parents did.

Now that my rant is out of the way, I think a hypothetical child between them having black hair with pink highlights would be cute and that’s about it.

MitsuSara

I wish these two had more of a dynamic. Both characters have interactions with Boruto and clear dynamics with him, but they don’t really have much going on with each other. They both have recognizable personalities, but they mellow each other out whenever they interact and it makes them boring (I’m guessing Ikemoto isn’t interested in them together). They also only tend to talk to each other about Boruto (at least in the manga). Say what you want about them, but at least Sasuke and Sakura had a dynamic.

Anyways, funny ha ha, Orochimaru gets an Uchiha in the way they least expected.

MitsuBoru

Gayer than any of the Naruto dynamics and that is saying something. However, I struggle to like the ship because I’m just so confused.

First, why does Boruto have so many lancer/foil/rival characters. Kawaki, Sarada, and Mitsuki all act as lancers. I get that writing doesn’t have to be formulaic, but they aren’t even all lancers to each other, having dynamics that bounce off of each other, they’re just lancers to Boruto. At least for me, it’s already gotten really boring and ends in the three’s dynamics with each other falling flat.

Second, the sun and moon symbolism makes no sense to me as a writing decision. The obvious problem is that it’s redundant; it’s already been used for multiple Naruto dynamics. The less obvious problem is that it contradicts Mitsuki’s manga introduction. Mitsuki was introduced as the middle between Boruto and Sarada’s two extremes, taking up a role similar to Sakura’s in the og team 7. If he’s supposed to be the moon to Boruto’s sun, why is he introduced to us as the earth? The admittedly more minor problem that distracts me is that Orochimaru was the one that Mitsuki down this road. Why? Orochimaru wasn’t redeemed by Naruto and has never shown interest in him or this philosophy before now. My best guess is that they’re fascinated by Naruto’s affect on Sasuke, but that still leaves me with questions.

It makes me think that the writer didn’t have any ideas when they introduced these two.

I don’t like how the fandom is making another love square, but I doubt there’s anything I can do to stop them.

This ship is boring because Sumire is boring. That one anime arc made her interesting, but it’s referenced and relevant so rarely that she goes back to being boring. I’d like this more if the story let Sumire be morally gray or treated her like a redeemed villain more. As of right now, I think the only leg the ship has to stand on is writing tropes and I do not care.

KawaSumi

This ship feels like the product of the same people who ship SasuHina/SasuIno/SasuKarin/KibaHina out of spite. My last post/reblog went into why this happens but the short of it is that it’s easier to ship something in peace if the biggest “threats” to it are paired together. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have a feeling most KawaSumi shippers also ship BoruSara.

This is the section for all the ships I have little/no opinions on. I think MitsuCho is too boring for how popular it is, I think ChoSara should be more popular, I’m disturbed by all of the Eida x next gen ships because she looks and acts like an adult (at least how adults are portrayed in Boruto), and I’m surprised Code x Eida isn’t more popular, but I also think that Code has gotten the Kabuto treatment and isn’t very popular in the fandom.

The ships I haven’t mentioned I either have so little fucks to give or so little information on that I have ZERO thoughts about.

Usually I don’t revisit lists that I’ve already made, but I haven’t recced ladrien in a while and I love them and I do, in fact, have a couple of other fics in mind! The first option seems more believable.

One-shot. (This is actually part two of a loosely connected series, but it can be read as a standalone.) This one is so well done with the way Ladybug’s distracted thoughts are interwoven with the akuma battle. But more importantly, these two are just SO DUMB. (Though at least Chat has the excuse that he’s concussed haha)

I’m crying because after I posted that meme post yesterday, I was scrolling through the Nashuri tag and then saw it 🥴 I literally made a dumb meme joking about Antis saying we need to be locked up, and didn’t realize someone literally said that hours prior. It doesn’t get better than that rofl. What’s sending me was their initial outrage of Nashuri [which babe, have you been living under a rock?], then the assumption that I romantically ship Tenoch & Tish from a quick bio glance, THEN after all of the “horror” and “shock”, they proceed to not block me. You’re telling me you posted screenshots of you blocking my page to ultimately not…..block……me? Righhhhhhhttttttt *rubs temples*

I literally don’t owe anyone this BUT this is for the folks that are new to my blog/Nashuri fandom/etc:

#1. Hey 💜 This is BOTH a Nashuri [Namor x Shuri] blog AND Tenoch Huerta + Letitia Wright appreciation blog. What does that mean? It means my blog is about anything related to A. Tenoch Huerta + his life/roles etc B. Letitia Wright + her life/roles etc and C. Their adorable dynamic together. It’s a hodgepodge of random stuff. One big ice cream shop where you can pick your flavor of choice. So Nashuri shippers interact with me, Namor fans, Shuri fans , Letitia, Tenoch and so on. You get the idea. I love how open-ended my page is and that’s why I made it that way in the first place. Everyone is welcome here and can walk away with a little bit of something. For being such a miscellaneous page, I would say the only “agenda” I push is Nashuri [it’s in my name]. The rest of my content is up to your own personal interpretation/assumptions. What you think I’m pushing or trying to say is all your take and your take alone, beloved. It has nothing to do with me.

Life has been ✨𝒷𝓁𝒾𝓈𝓈𝒻𝓊𝓁✨ ever since and it only takes .2 seconds out of your day to do it. So when I don’t see people utilize the block button, I just know their not being fr and are clearly bored. If you don’t like my content, block/mute me. Simple as that. Because chances are, I’ve probably already blocked you by now. And to the people I haven’t, I either A. enjoy/interact with the content you make or B. don’t care for it but you usually stay out of my lane and I stay out of yours so we just coexist. It’s that black and white. You don’t have to like what someone posts but what isn’t cool is bothering/targeting someone on an app strictly because of that. What are you five? This feels like a lesson we learned in elementary school. It’s not rocket science and it’s never that serious. The world does not revolve around you nor adhere to things only you deem okay. It’s much bigger than that. Get a grip, go drink some water, eat something and make sure to touch some grass today while you’re at it.

How would you go about designing fusions?

Like, I think my design for Razor looks more silly than scary (mainly the beak face why are beaks so hard) and I don't know if it fits with the rest of them.

Im honestly not 100% sure about the process of how I do it! 😭 I guess I just do?????? But I’ll try my best to explain my thought process even if it might be what you were already thinking/doing

I think mostly what I do is look for very prominent features on the Pokémon first, like for example, the legs of a Zoroark, its claws, and its face markings. That, and its ears. I also take notice of how on some parts of the body there’s longer fur jutting out of places like the elbows or the hips. With Mutt, who to be honest I haven’t made art of in a long time but I don’t feel the need to change him that much, I just compiled all of the features I thought defined the Pokémon and found ways to incorporate them into/onto the human body.

With Alexandra (Dragonite girl) I took the antenna, wings, and big tail as main points of the design I wanted to incorporate into her and found ways I liked it. I used them in pretty basic ways, but I did replace her ears with miniature Dragonite wings as well, as I was inspired by some art (of which I don’t know the fandom of) where there were bird-people with wings for ears.

If a Pokémon has distinct legs I will incorporate those by replacing the human legs entirely, and if the Pokémon has claws I’ll replace their fingernails with those instead. Pretty basic stuff though

I think almost all of the fusions that I’ve posted about so far aside from Parasect Girl have tails too, so that’s a little funny to me.

Also, I don’t always make every Pokémon part completely proportionate to the human body, with a certain fusion that will go unnamed, instead of shrinking fhe Pokémon’s “tail” to be how a normal sized tail would be for a human, I made the tail big and thick, which would no doubt get in the way of normal living, but that’s one thing that’s consistent with most all of the fusions. It disturbs their ability to live “like a normal human would” even if they tried their hardest.

Fusions can also take away senses and disable you to some degree. Like for example, Parasect Girl has extremely low vision and relies mostly on hearing to tell where things are/what’s happening. As a result her hearing has gotten very very good.

I think my main thing when designing fusions is that I’m not afraid/hesitant to make their bodies impractical/take away vital limbs for living/adding limbs that actively inhibit them. If you got your legs replaced with a dogs or a birds, wouldn’t you feel disoriented too?

One fusion I made also has a beak, a tentacruel fusion, but for that one I ended up making the squid beak act as weird lips. The actual “beak” design parts on the tentacruel ended up going other places, like jutting out of her arms.

ALSO another thing I like to do is spare no expense when it comes to adding details. Fuck “over designing” do what you want forever. Though that doesn’t mean that designs can’t get incomprehensible, it’s a somewhat delicate process (I guess??? It comes easy to me so I’m not sure.) ANYWAYS if you see an empty spot on the body and you’re not sure if you want it to stay empty or not, go ham and try out as many things as you want until you’re happy with it!! It might take a bit but what doesn’t when it comes to character design?

For a clearer example that might show my line of thinking more, I’ll generate a random Pokémon and brainstorm what a human fusion of it might look like.

Okay so I generated a Pokémon and I swear to god

SLUGMA BA- [gets shot]

This one is a little difficult since it doesn’t have too many distinct details if you just look at it at a glance.

let’s list off some features of it first!

Okay, so: Yellow pointed eyes, antenna like features coming from the head, very goopy, and also RED.

Also taking into account how hot the temperatures slugma gives off.

So. Let’s take a human, and try to fuse them together. More often than not when I get a pre-evolution fusion, I make them a child/just generally a younger person. However I think that for this we’ll just go with no age in particular.

So! First, I think the extreme temperatures wouldn’t fuse well with the human body, it would make them very melty/goopy. I would likely add little drips of their skin at their lips, and maybe even take away their legs in their entirety. Maybe they could just be a torso and melty pile of searing hot goop/flesh/magma beneath them? I think i would make it magma just to keep more of the Pokémon incorporated into the design. I would make the whites of the eyes yellow, make their eyes a more almond/pointed shape, and their irises either black or piercing bright red.

I think their hands would be a little goopy as well. Perhaps their hair would be melting/dripping over their head/face or maybe even acting similar to those visual heatwaves you see when it’s super hot outside! Now for someone who is literally searing hot and melting, I don’t think they would have any resemblance of clothes, but since their body is so melty, I don’t think it’d matter to be covered up too much. I think at some point as the flesh melts and drips off, it turns into magma. It’ll never be anything but complete magma when it falls off of the fusions body unless you actively take it off. (Looking at you FUSE. He’d probably be very curious how they’d taste.).

I think they’d have fire jutting out of their forehead in the shape of the fire antenna, or maybe it’d be their hair instead standing up and waving like flames in a strange way. I think they’d leave a constant burn/melting trail behind them, melting the floors as they slug around, and melting anything if they get too close. They’d likely have to be fed/given water similar to water tribe prisoners in ATLA (That one girl who taught Katara blood bending). Speaking of water, I don’t think they’d be able to get anywhere near it, it would hurt them severely, but that would mean they couldn’t drink water whatsoever. Maybe they don’t need water to live? Would they even have blood anymore? Or would it have all been boiled out of their body? Questions like these, questioning how Pokémon anatomy/natures would pair with humans/human behaviours is also important to designing fusions for me. I’m not sure exactly how important it is for it, but it’s definitely a part of what I think about when designing fusions.

Let’s try another shall we?

Wartortle! This is a nice design.

Something I immediately take notice of is the feathery ear like projections out of its head, along with its feathery tail. Boom, replace their ears with the feathery protrusions, and give them their feathery tail. I think their hair would also look similar to their ear protrusions, a wavy ocean look. Their arm hair, if they have any, would probably look the same, same for their leg hair. Wartortle’s also got white claws coming out of its hands, so those go onto the humans hands as well.

Then of course there’s the shell. You could make it look like a weird backpack, but that’s not something I would do personally. Especially since I’d want them to have the ability to hide in their shell. I would make the shell larger than their body, which would probably limit their movement quite significantly. Now about the front of the shell, I’m not sure how that would work out. If it’s proportionate to the back of the shell, then that would limit their movement even more. But if we strike a good balance of size, they can still move around decently while still being able to hide away in their shell. Now I like that a lot better. Their mouth would likely be wider than normal human mouths, and they would have decently sharp canines poking out of their lips. Their eyes would also be decently slanted and red, or atleast instead of slanted, would be in a permanent “im pissed off” look.

Okay so I actually really like the Wartortle concept a lot so I think I’ll keep them. TEEHEE >:3c

Oh yeah! Also another thing, specifically with Momo, is that Furfrou’s ears are pretty large/long compared to their head, so I exaggerated that to an extreme for her, making them go down to her middle-upper leg.

ALSO when it comes to clothes, pretty much all of the fusions have clothes that they wear, even if it’s just a shirt (See Mutt and Momo.). Unless it’s a Slugma fusion situation, they will pretty much always have atleast one article of clothing. I don’t put distinguishable human nudity in any of the fusions, the closest you’d get to that is Mutt if he didn’t have a shirt on, or like I mentioned, the Slugma Fusion.

I hope this helped literally at all!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m not even sure if this made sense in any way at all aside from the impromptu fusion design brainstorming

Dinner, packing, limo ride to the airport, and a plane ride later we arrived in Auvernall. We went from the airport straight to Liam’s grandfathers’ estate. It was late and Lord Rutherford Castellanos was already in bed asleep. He’d left orders for the staff to show us to our rooms with his apologies. He’d see us at breakfast.

I once again found myself in the position of having to choose between them or spend the night alone. I opted for alone.

I was used to sleeping by myself. Or, I had been. The last couple of months I had gotten used to having Drake in my bed almost every night. Any night he wasn’t there, was usually because I was with Liam.

I hadn't spent but a bare minimum number of nights alone since I’d arrived in Cordonia. So, you’d think I’d relish the privacy. I probably needed a break from both of them. But I found myself lying awake in the dark, thinking about how they were both just down the hall.

Memories of Nick also poured through my mind, but for different reasons. Things I hadn’t thought about in years broke through the surface of my consciousness. I tossed and turned for what seemed like hours. Sleep was elusive and fitful when it finally came.

I overslept the next morning. I hadn’t done that in years. I dressed quickly and headed downstairs to find the men already seated around the dining room table. “Why didn’t someone wake me up?”

All three men rose to their feet as I entered the room as a matter of propriety. But Lord Castellanos simply gave me a small bow and greeting whereas Drake and Liam both stumbled out of their chairs to try and pull one out for me.

Liam made it to a chair first. He brushed a soft kiss across my check as he pulled out the seat for me. I leaned my cheek toward him to make it easy, then I turned to Drake and tipped my head in his direction so he could give me a quick peck on the other check, which he did while taking my hand in his, “We thought you could use the extra sleep.”

“Hm.” I replied.

“Riley, I’d like to formally introduce you to my grandfather, Lord Rutherford Castellanos.” Liam gestured toward the older man.

“Lord Rutherford,” I inclined my head, “How lovely to meet you. I see where Liam gets his good looks.”

The older man chuckled, “Which one of us are you trying to charm my dear, me or my grandson?”

I raised my eyebrows in mock alarm, “Can’t it be both?”

That earned me another chuckle. “Diplomatic too, I see.”

“She’s very diplomatic, as well as smart and beautiful.” Liam informed his grandfather.

“Don’t forget funny and brave.” Drake added.

Lord Castellanos gave me an appraising look, “You seem to have quite the fan club young lady.”

“I just have them fooled.” I winked at him as I buttered my toast.

“They aren’t wrong, my dear, you certainly seem to be all of those things.”

“Why thank you my lord.”

“Please, call me Rud. Everyone does.”

“They do not!” Liam grinned at me, “He makes everyone call him Lord Castellanos unless he really likes them!”

“Well, then.” I gave him one of my most brilliant smiles, “Rud it is! And you can call me Riley. None of this Lady Riley or Princess Riley bullshit.”

Rud laughed and it was a deep guffaw, a genuine and true sound. His eyes crinkled at the corners when he laughed and the sparkle in them reminded me of Liam.

After everyone had eaten and the plates had been cleared away, and fresh coffee had been poured, Rud turned to Liam with curiosity lighting his eyes, “I’m always happy to see you Liam, but you don’t just drop in on a moment’s notice, nor do you bring guests, so do you want to tell me what this is about?”

Liam sighed and his eyes found mine. I reached for his hand under the table and gave it a squeeze. I gave him an encouraging smile and he smiled back.

“To be honest, some information has come to light, and I have some questions about my mother.”

“I see.” Pain flickered behind Rud’s eyes and my heart ached for him. Losing his only daughter couldn’t have been easy for him. “What kind of questions?”

Liam looked at me for help. I decided to just dive in, “Can I be blunt?”

He gave me a curt nod, “I prefer it.”

“Is there any chance your daughter had another child? After Liam?”

“What? Why would you think that?”

“We found a day minder that belonged to Eleanor that seems to indicate she was pregnant in the year before her death. The date indicated as her due date coincides with her last visit here before…”

“Before her murder. You can say it. I sure haven’t forgotten.”

“Exactly. Right before her murder. There are rumors of a secret heir, and they could be just that, baseless rumors, but…”

“But if I have another grandchild out there, I need to know.” His eyes flicked to Liam, “We all need to know.”

“Yes, grandfather. But…” Liam looked down at the tabletop before pulling in a deep breath, “If she was pregnant, why didn’t my father know?”

“Are you sure he didn’t?” Rud asked.

“I feel like he would have mentioned it if he knew he had a missing child.” Liam replied.

Drake and I exchanged glances. There was at least an outside chance that the child wasn’t Constantine’s. It was the only reason I could come up with for a woman hiding her pregnancy from her husband.

“Well, I didn’t see your mother on her last trip home, unfortunately. I was out of the country at the time. And your grandmother and I were divorced by then, so she wouldn’t have necessarily told me. Assuming there’s anything to tell.”

“So this is a dead end.” Liam sighed.

“Not necessarily.” Rud said.

“What do you mean?” Liam asked.

“I mean…if your mother came here to have a secret baby, then your grandmother’s best friend would know about it. She’s a doctor after all.”

“What’s her name?” Drake asked.

“Dr. Katherine Boedecker. Come on Liam, I’ll get her number for you.”

Liam followed his grandfather out of the room. Drake moved over to take the seat next to me. His copper and gold flecked eyes searched mine as he draped an arm across the back of my chair. “How’d you sleep?”

I flushed a little as I lied, “Fine.”

“You can tell me the truth.” He said as his finger brushed over my cheek, “I know I slept like shit.”

“Don’t sleep well in new places?” I asked.

“That’s not why.” He answered. “I’ve always been a light sleeper and yes, that’s even worse in unfamiliar places but…”

“But?” I raised my eyebrows in question.

“I slept like shit the night before last too.” He didn’t elaborate on why and I thought it prudent not to ask. I knew what he was implying.

“I’m sorry, have you tried white noise?” I looked away from him to sip my coffee.

He leaned in and put his mouth to my ear, his voice low as warm breath pattered across my skin, making me shiver, “I missed you, missed your body pressed against mine, missed waking up next to you, missed having my face buried between your legs first thing in the morning…”

Oh. My god. Heat coiled in my center then spread out, tendrils snaking through every inch of my body. My eyes fell closed and my head tipped to the side. My teeth dug into my bottom lip as fire erupted along the side of my neck where his lips brushed it.

He pulled back and gave me that signature panty dropping grin of his as we heard footsteps in the hallway. I hurriedly regained my composure before Liam and Rud entered the room.

It had only been twenty four hours since Drake and I had done the deed in Liam’s shower, but damned if my body wasn’t reacting as if I hadn’t had sex in months. He was still too close for comfort. I could smell him, I could feel the energy pulsing off his body and it was doing things to me.

Contrary to the lie I’d just told Drake, I had not enjoyed sleeping alone. I had not enjoyed waking up alone and I’m not sure when that happened. I’d been waking up alone for years, and sleeping alone, like a baby. On the rare occasions I spent the night with someone, it made it harder to sleep. People snore, they move around at night. They take the covers and invade my side of the bed. They wake up too early, or not early enough. I don’t like it.

Or at least, I didn’t. I hadn’t since Nick. That was the last actual relationship I had been in and we had crashed and burned spectacularly. I made a vow after that not to get emotionally involved again and I had kept that promise to myself.

Until now.

My eyes lifted to meet Drake’s and my lips curved up into a smile even though I struggled against it. Then I looked up at Liam and I felt my heart stutter in my chest. Jesus, I was in so much fucking trouble.

The number Rud gave us was correct, but it wasn’t being picked up. It just kept rolling to voicemail.

“Now what?” Liam asked.

“Now I guess we’re going to her.” I replied.

“I’ll have the car brought around.” Drake said.

“I’ll get you her home and office address.” Rud followed Drake out of the room, leaving me alone with Liam.

“Liam, thank you.”

He gave me a quizzical look, “For?”

“It hasn’t gone unnoticed that you haven’t pressured me for answers about Nick.”

“You’ll tell me whatever I need to know when you’re ready. Whatever it is, it’s part of your past and your past is part of what made you the person you are today, and I like the person you are today.” He took my hand in his and kissed the back of it.

I studied his face and there was nothing but sincerity in it. He wasn’t threatened by my past with Nick. He wasn’t threatened by my present with Drake. He was still convinced that our destinies were intertwined and he was patiently waiting for me to figure that out and agree with him.

As convinced as he was, he wasn’t being territorial, he wasn’t being presumptuous, he wasn’t doing any of the things I’d come to associate with men marking their territory. Not that I was territory to be marked, that kind of thinking was exactly the problem. But he didn’t seem to think like that.

I was starting to question things. Chief among them, my sanity. This was madness. Even entertaining the notion that either of them could be something….more.

They couldn’t.

I mean, they could. Either one of them would make a remarkable life partner. Both of them, each in their own way, had more or less laid their heart on the table for me. The issue was me. I was the hot mess, I was the emotionally unavailable one, I was the problem.

Even if I wasn’t leaving at the end of all this, even if I was willing to do the long distance relationship thing, which heart did I pick up and which did I shatter? Once again, my inability to choose between them was going to doom me to end up without either of them.

My thoughts were broken by Rud informing us that Drake was waiting by the front door, the car was ready. Liam offered me his hand and I took it. He pulled me out of my seat and brushed a soft kiss across my lips before lacing his fingers through mine and heading for the dining room door.

“Thank you!” I told Rud on the way out.

“Yes, thank you, grandfather.” Liam echoed, “We’ll see you at dinner!”

Then we were in a car heading into Moorehaven, the largest city in Rud’s duchy and home to Katherine Boedecker, M.D.

Her office was in a high rise in the business district, not the medical district. Likely because she catered to the elite and this was a more convenient location for them. Liam talked his way past building security, primarily because one of them recognized him. We rode the elevator to the seventh floor.

A middle aged blonde woman sat behind the reception desk. She tapped her manicured nails impatiently against the top of her desk, “I don’t care who you are, no one gets in without an appointment.”

“It’s a matter of great importance to both Auvernall and Cordonia.” Liam insisted.

Drake scanned the office then made a beeline for one of the doors. I hurried after him.

“Wait!” The receptionist yelled out, “You can’t just-“

But we just did. Drake flung the door open as Liam caught up with us.

Liam’s grandfather was in his eighties. If his grandmother were still alive, she’d be in her late seventies. It was a good bet that her best friend was in the same age range. So the thirty something woman with the short brunette bob sitting behind the desk was not her.

“I’m so sorry, Anita!” The receptionist called from behind us, “I told them they needed an appointment!”

“It’s ok, Susan.” The brunette dismissed her with a wave of her hand then gave us a decidedly unfriendly look, “Who are you and why have you so rudely burst into my office?”

“We were looking for Dr. Boedecker.” Drake said.

“Yes, well, as Susan pointed out, you need an appointment for that and since she’s mostly retired, she’s not taking on any new patients.”

“We’re not patients,” Liam explained, “She was my grandmother’s best friend.”

Anita’s face softened a little, “You’re Liam?”

“Yes! And I have some questions about my mother than only Katherine can answer. Please, it’s important!”

“I’m sorry, I truly am. But she’s not here right now, she retired so she could focus on her charity work. She runs a group of free clinics across the country and that takes up all her time.”

Auvernall was a county with a sprawling military industrial complex but no health care for the uninsured.

“Can you tell us where to find her?” I asked.

Her eyes flicked to me, the annoyance back, “No. She’s quite busy. If you’d like an appointment, I can get you on her schedule for…..” she glanced down at her phone and swiped a few times, “Early next month.”

“That’s unacceptable, we need to speak with her as soon as possible!” Drake said.

“Well, too bad.” The woman shrugged, “You can schedule an appointment with Susan on the way out-“

“She’s already in a meeting!” Susan yelled from the other room as the door swung open again.

“Jesus fucking Christ, does no one have manners anymore?” Anita exploded.

A young man with reddish blond hair barreled into the room, “We’re in trouble ‘Nita!”

“Christ Roland! What now?”

“Our closing act for the charity talent show just canceled!”

“What?” She jumped up from her chair and started digging through piles of paper, “They can’t! They signed a contract! Hold on, I have it right here-“

“The entire band has the flu! Unforeseeable circumstances, there’s a clause in the contract for that.” The young man informed her.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! The concert is in two days! We can’t cancel it! The foundation needs the money to continue running the clinics! Where the hell are we going to get a band in two days?”

“Ah, excuse me?” I spoke up.

She whirled on me, “What?”

“I know where you can get a band.”

She froze. “You do?”

Liam turned to me in astonishment, “You do?”

Drake stiffened at my side, “Oh, no.”

“Yes, I do. But we will require a meeting with Dr. Boedecker, tonight! Tomorrow at the latest. Get me that and I’ll get you a band.”

Her eyes bore into me with a doubtful expression, “What band?”

“Squid Whiskey.”

There was a sharp intake of breath from Liam.

Anita narrowed her eyes in suspicion, “I’ve never heard of them. Are they good?”

“Oh yes,” I replied, “Very popular in Cordonia. I can have them here by tomorrow.”

I hoped.

Anita seemed to hesitate and Roland spoke up, “We’re desperate ‘Nita, we need a band. I think I’ve heard of them!”

She turned to him, “You think?”

He shrugged, “It’s them, or we have to cancel the show. I’ve called every band I can think of already.”

“Fine!” She huffed, “Get the band here by tomorrow afternoon and you’ll get your meeting with Katherine.”

I know that the Grand Saber is pretty much confirmed (well not confirmed confirmed but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t) to be another Arturia clone but since While technically the Grands are known as the seven strongest of an era, here are some alternatives I think might work or would be funny as shit

Musashi Miyamoto (Girl): This one’s kinda a given. She was implemented, reused, and went out in a sorta random way imo? Like. By all means her “death” was cool and she was cool until the end, but it seemed… off to me? Chaos kinda came from out of nowhere but ykwe or something. Personally I just want Musashi back

Musashi Miyamoto (Real/Male): We know he exists. He’s been eluded to multiple times with our known Musashi stating she is and isn’t “Musashi”. Musashi is also often considered to be one of the best sword masters in Japan

Sasaki Kojiro (saber): We’ve seen him once before and we all know how Fate likes to drag FSN characters for as long as they can even if the fandom is tired of them. Personally I’d like more Kojiro over more Arturia !! Like Musashi, he’s one of Japan’s most recognizable sword masters

Fiore dei Liberi: the author of one of the oldest surviving treatises on fencing is pretty notable in terms of sword wielding historical figures right? There’s not much known about him which would give Takeuchi and Nasu a good bit freedom and probably smack him with the Genderbend Laser. I think a prominent swordsman is the best for the Grand Saber if we draw from straight historical fact and not Nasu historical fact

Altera: Laser Sword go brrrr. In seriousness though, she is my number one choice for a Grand Saber. A number of the “Grand” servants have some connections to the divine, right? Solomon and Noah with the biblical God, The Old Man of the Mountain with Allah, Romulus and Orion with the Roman and Greek gods, Tezcatlipoca is a god himself… Merlin is technically an outlier, I guess but before he filled Solomon’s seat, all the Grands known were/were associated with the divine. Altera in FGO is vaguely associated by way of Mars, but in the EXTELLA line of fate, she’s just straight up a deity i believe— With her true form being that if of the Great God of Sefar. There’s some alien stuff too Granted Sefar was killed by Excalibur (somehow?? The timeline matches up not at all but WHATEVER fate like Excalibur) and her body became the Valkyrie? Brynhildr, Giants, and Altera. Sefar also shows up twice in Lostbelt Lore: Atlantis and Avalon. I’d say that’s a big calling card. (Zeus beat Sefar in Atlantis with the other gods, in Avalon she destroyed the world as per goal.) But my god. wouldn’t it be cool to see two alien gods beating the shit out of each other? Ofc I’ve gotten off topic, as Sefar and Altera are the same but not, and Sefar is more of an outer god/beast/foreign god, but using that connection and the fact that Altera is quite powerful in her own right as the Destroyer of Civilization and Attila the Hun, I think seeing her utilized as the Grand Saber would be much more interesting than Arturia. And would bring back some of her actual character instead of Bad Civilization jokes.

Peleus: I think this one is less likely as we have Achilles as a servant and Greece is pretty much over and done, but according to legend, his sword is one that grants its wielder victory in battle and when hunting. Besides, we’d have that heroic link, the divine link, and I’m ALWAYS a sucker for more of Chiron’s extended family to show up.

Perseus: Isn’t he technically a fate character already? Back on the Greek train I guess lol. Anyways, who doesn’t know Perseus? He’s a hero in his own right and his sword Harpe is referenced often in literature anyways. I think he’d be an interesting choice

Heracles: while we’re on the topic of Greeks, why not add Herc to the list? Recognized as one of if not the most well known Greek Hero of all time, He’s already also recognized as an Archer Class as per FSF, but would it be a stretch to also include Saber? Ofc, with Orion all the Greeks could be void given the shared mythology root, but Noah and Solomon exist so yk. I’m also just down to see more Heracles

Sir Agravain of Iron: this is really more of a “wouldnt it be fucking funny” choice for me, and doesn’t fit in with the greatest of all time bit, but I think it would be funny as hell. he does not want to be here and yet he is. I just think it would be funny if everything is hyped up to the max about a new Arturia except the reveal is this guy that no one likes, he also does not like anyone, he hates humans on principle, would kill his mother for less than a cornchip, but somehow in a twist of reality and lostbelt fuckery he was given Excalibur and the Crown by way of blood right and efficiency. “But but but that deviates from human history-“ that didn’t stop Romulus!! I think at this point nothing matters about the who what and when aspects. Plus? FGO is sometimes known for these hyped up and then fucking weird plot twists so I think it would just be funny personally. I cannot stress enough how much he does not want to be here.

Most of these are just ideas and thoughts, knowing Takeuchi and Nasu, we’re likely going to be getting a version of Arturia/Arthur as the Grand Saber. But it’s fun to think about.

thursday fic recs!

Hi hi! I’m super late with this (in internet time) because I have been pondering deeply and also the jelly babies have been eating my brain. Tumblr ate my original ask from @fatalfangirl but here are my fic recs, based on this ask meme!

📆 A fic you’d re-read 10 years from now

This is a bit of a cheat for me because I haven’t actually finished reading it, but rebel rebel by BasicBathsheba. I actually had to pause reading it for now (hoping to come back to it during the winter break) because I was getting VERY fixated on it and this little lass’ brain has only so much capacity for both being absorbed in a long fic while also drafting day by day.

I think rebel rebel is very much going to be for me, in the CO fandom, what After the End by Arabella and Zsenya was for me in the HP fandom (back when it was still on the Sugar Quill!). I’m going to be asking myself, ten years from now, “Wait, was that canon or was that rebel rebel?”

💯 A fic that makes you think #writergoals

Oh, oh shit, there are too many. Like way too many, especially recently. This is just going to be a love list of current WIPs which I’ve already frothed about at the mouth, no surprises here:

Stress Management by @whogaveyoupermission. In this fic, there is something so miraculous about the combination of emotional development in the SnowBaz relationship COMBINED with such vivid, concrete sensory, specific and sensual details (Baz’s clothing/hair/make up game in this fic SLAYS me). Just. WOW. There is so much genuine texture and emotional richness drawn into this story that it just seizes you by the throat.

Like We Had a Clue by @martsonmars. I tend to think of and craft in sentences, or bits of dialogue, or to get caught by certain images, but @martsonmars is INCREDIBLE at writing these long, beautifully developed and structured paragraphs that induce more emotion than an entire volume from Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past. Also @martsonmars is so, so good at having this unique, vivid take on secondary characters (Pippa! Gareth!) that makes the world feel so real.

A Dangerous Affinity by @larkral. THE WORLD-BUILDING, MY GOD. It’s funny that I love reading spec fic, sci fi, fantasy, etc, but I am actually very bad at world-building; my tendency is to get very granular and focus on relationships w/ spec fic elements on the side. But @larkral does such an amazing job of both setting up the world while hooking emotional claws in you with the characters (THE SLOW BURN! THE NPCs!), and showing how environment & character affect each other so powerfully. I've just gotten so used to the world of Watford that it is very defamiliarizing (in the best way!) to see the Scholomance in such sharp contrast. I just got a copy of A Deadly Education and I am excited to read it eventually so I can be like, “Hoho, I SEE what @larkral did there!!!”

💘 A fic you couldn't stop reading once you started

I’m going to cheat here again a bit and talk about a fic for a fandom that is not Carry On, LOL.

Fox in the Hole by boomturkey. This is an AU where Hinata (one of the main characters in Haikyuu!!) goes to a different school for volleyball (Inarazaki, with the Miya twins) rather than the one in canon (Karasuno), and it. IS. INCREDIBLE.

Basically the author has taken minor characters and OCs and fleshed them into main characters, built this whole alternate timeline and world, and is so GORGEOUS. It’s the sweetest, slowest of slow burns because so much of it focuses on the richness of a friendship just unfolding in real time, and so many relationships are beautifully developed beyond just the main pairing. (LOL, is it evident how much stuff like this has influenced Jelly Babies??) The entire universe includes four fics and clocks in at a whopping 234,790 words, which is a kind of word-smithery that boggles my mind.

Question 1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I got the vibe right from the start where Korra only kept writing to Asami and nobody else, and was pleased as punch how the show hinted at them becoming a thing at the end, then whooped out loud when the show runners confirmed it after it was done

Question 2. Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

(Insert hysterical laugh and gestures at 90% of what I read in my free time)

Question 3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr avatar?

No, but mostly because I prefer images to couples

Question 4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

Ebay, They did break up! And I was not happy with it! I am still salty at how this ship ended and am convinced they would have gotten back together if the show kept going!

Question 5. Why is 1 so important?

Alex Fierro was my spirit animal the moment he/ she was introduced, a shape shifter with an attitude, but a genuine person. What you see is what you get. Magnus being instantly in love with her/ him was my reaction too, and Alex deserves someone as wholesome and special as Magnus Chase

Question 6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Numb3rs, Oh it’s plenty serious, the show centers on their relationship a good chunk of the time and ends with their wedding and they’re so cute together in every scene. The episode where Amita is kidnapped, (Angels and Devils) still shocks and breaks my heart for Charlie every time I watch it.

Question 7. Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Ugh, define chemistry?! I love all of these ships for the same reason in each, I love how they care for each other. In every ship I can identify one moment that makes my heart swell seeing them together in cannon and always puts a smile on my face.

If you mean chemistry as an explosion though, gun to my head forced answer, I pick Gallavitch

Question 8. Out of all of the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?

Ash and Mary-Lynnette or Wolfstar, both have this soulmate eternal bond thing going for them where they can love other people but were meant to be together in every way and always find their way back

Forced answer, Ash and Mary-Lynnette, since they’re literal soulmates rather than metaphorical ones

Question 9. How many times have you read/watched 10’s fandom?

A good dozen times in the past, but not recently. I read Nightworld in my teen years and quickly grew obsessed with the idea of soulmates, I already loved apocalypse end of the world type things plus supernatural themes, and it was the first ever reading the books fanfic I tried to do, but stopped for the same reason I haven’t reread it in a long time, the last book was never written! And at this rate probably never will be. I’m just still so smitten with every single soul mate in these nine books, Ash and Mary-Lynette just rank number one of all of them

Question 10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

I’m not sure what answer it’s after here? In chronological years of the show, I think Gallavitch would win, despite being on and off so long they lasted years together and ended up together at the end. The show of these with the longest run time is also Shameless, so that one by default I guess, though FierroChase is immortal even having only three books, so they’d win long term?

If it’s asking which I’ve shipped the longest, Wolfstar, back when I first read PoA. I’ve read The Servant of Lord Voldemort more times than anybody can count and their scenes together cemented themselves as my first pairing as far back as I can remember before I was intentionally shipping anything, Remus and Sirius were always together from that moment on.

Question 11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?

Well Korrasami was only confirmed off screen after the show ended, so none technically, but I don’t believe in perfect couples who never have a disagreement so realistically it’s bound to happen at least once in their happily ever after

Question 12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

Wolfstar or Spitfire?

Depends on if magic is allowed in this zombie apocalypse. If Remus and Sirius are Muggles, sorry boys, Artemis and Wally (even in this totally human scenario where he’s not a speedster) Artemis would kick enough ass to save her boo to win

If they were all at their normal badass capacity? It’s a fair 50/50 shot for both. You’d have to do a Death Battle going over every iota of detail to pick a winner.

Question 13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

EBay sort of started as s secret so Bay wouldn’t hurt Daphne’s feelings, but after that no. In my head after the show, when Travis didn’t come home from Japan after the third time because of scheduling issues, Bay would have run back to Emmet and cheated on Travis to be together with him again and they would have hid that until it came out and she was back together with him. Not a nice, neat ending, but what I think would have inevitably happened.

Question 14. Is 4 still together?

Gallavich is a Yes! Married! Thinking about kids! (Like Yevginny doesn't exist and is never mentioned again? Which the show ignores but not the point!)

Question 15. Is 10 canon?

Ash and Mary-Lynette are sort of, yes, mostly absolutely, though not currently together do to personal reason the characters are working through :(

Question 16. If all ten ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Ugh, way to many factors to consider with the varying degrees of powers going on in some of these.

If they were all human, again I like Artemis Crock’s chances of survival since she is already human and badass in a world of superhero's and basically another set of Katniss and Peta going on here.

Kilian has a decent chance of him and Emma winning for the same reason if you strip her Savior powers since they’re so resourceful as humans.

Alex and Magnus are basically a parallel (sometimes gender swapped) Peta and Katniss too on the scale going on here so they’d be scary contenders without their enerji boost.

Micky and Ian might have never had to survive outside the south side, but Ian’s got some minor military training and Micky’s just a terrifying brutal person with a blessed heart, so another insane match to beat. Those are my top four at minimum.

Question 17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?

Nomi’s own parents! And Whispers can burn in hell where he belongs!

Question 18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

All. Of. Them. I have limited obsessions and you cannot fight me on their existence. The order that I go through each fandom is above.

Question 19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?

CaptainSwan; I would if there was more content :( Sadly I got here a lot late after the show was long done so there’s not much new

Question 20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all up forever, which ship would you sink?

I regret this entire experience just for this question, but if I must, Korrasami. I only have my own head cannon content to keep them together and I won’t sacrifice what I do have for the others for something I can reinvent after this evil witch leaves

Would he break it off despite them being okay and willing to be quiet about it? Would he do everything in his power to remove them from the situation? How devastated would he be that these were the circumstances?

On another note - how are you? how did you get into deathnote? do you write for anything else? I don't mean to ask personal questions in case they aren't allowed and make you uncomfortable, but I do find the range of things you write for really funny. Frankly, it would never get that far. As soon as your name shows up on the list of investigators you either agree to drop the case or the two of you are over. He can’t drop it— thousands are dying— but that didn’t mean he’s going to let you throw yourself in harm’s way like an idiot. If you decided that the relationship wasn’t worth it and decided to go through with it anyways, not much outside of that would change; if you stuck around long enough to be a part of the KTF then he’s already fairly sure you’re not Kira so logically it shouldn’t matter. He’s not going to forcefully take you out of harm’s way or anything— he has no right to do that— but he will absolutely make quiet jabs about it as if he wasn’t being completely hypocrite by doing so.

During the investigation? You aren’t going to be able to tell either way; he’s gotten very good at just ignoring his emotions for the sake of the investigation. If he thinks about it? Absolutely devastated, but that’s not important right now. If you died? He would never be able to forgive himself and might even retire, but that’s fine. It’s a breakup over a career and it’s totally alright because that’s your decision and your life. Never mind you were the closest thing to a loving relationship he’s had in a decade and a half; at the end of the day that’s not your issue. He will be slightly more aggressive in his tactics but other than that it’s fine. Definitely. Totally. Never better.

I’m fine, thank you. I actually got into death note forever ago but I only started writing fanfiction after I finally decided to watch it all the way through (I stopped watching the first time after L died like everyone else). I’ve been really into DOL recently and I’ve writing for Genshin and Mystic Messenger but I’ll write for whatever I’m interested in or people ask for, really. I got into TMNT because when I was real little I remember seeing it on TV and then it was on Hulu and I thought it might be fun to revisit and holy hell that was a lot of plot and then I wrote 70k words of stuff for it minimum and then I stopped because Hulu got rid of TMNT so now it’s a bit of a struggle to want to do things for it though, if there’s anyone who has stuck around long enough for the TMNT stuff that one thing I wrote might actually get an update this year. So, yeah. If people ask me to write stuff outside of what I’ve already written for I usually at least check whatever it is out to see if it has bones and other than that it’s whatever I feel like. If anyone has any recommendations for fandoms to write for I’d be down to try them. If you have any other questions, let me know!

5 fandoms, 5 ships!

1. BNHA—Fuyukoto

Look, Fran basically already covered Tddk, and while they’re my OTP, this is the kayak I have built with my own two hands and I WILL get more people on board it if it’s the last thing I do. Have they met in canon? No! Do I still have shit to talk about? YOU FUCKING BET.

First off, they have the same goals for a relationship—on Fuyumi’s end, I think it’s pretty clear that what she wants is domestic stability. Makoto, meanwhile, has explicitly stated that her ideal partner is someone “ordinary”—someone down-to-earth and steady to balance out the glitz, glamour, and chaos of her professional life.

She’s also extremely assertive in a way that I think Fuyumi needs in her life—someone like Makoto backing her up would probably do her wonders. Plus, giving Endeavor a daughter-in-law who has blackmailed a pro hero and gotten away with it would simply be excellent.

Speaking of in-laws, this ship would also make Naomasa and Touya in-laws. This is objectively funny.

2. Free!—Reigisa

I have such a soft spot for these silly little guys. You know that one post about being a sitcom b-plot character? These two are the fun little b-plot romance to Makoharu’s pining and drama. I love how ridiculously persistent Nagisa was in getting Rei to join the swim club, and I love the scene where Rei scoffs at the idea of him being affected by “something as illogical as love” like it didn’t WORK.

They’re hilarious, they’re adorable, they’re opposites attract, they’re absolutely whipped for each other. I love them.

Also, the water gun fight. The fact that Nagisa successfully ambushed Rei, then proceeded to walk into the trap he’d set earlier, was comedy gold.

3. Lego Monkie Kid—Dragonfruit

I was on the fence about this one until the Samhedi Fire scene. Look, I’ve spent five years and counting in the Tddk community—you give me fire and an “It’s your power!” and I’m gone.

To be clear, when I say “on the fence” I mean I was deciding whether or not I shipped them—they were luring me in, that just sealed the deal. I love the scene were Red returns Mei’s dragon plushie, I love their dynamic in general, and the fact that they were cuddling after the battle got me in the heart.

I’m not as deep in this particular fandom, so I’ll leave it at that—they’re cute, they got me in my weak spot, I like them!

4. Fairy Tail—Nalu

Is it even really a meet-cute if you don’t end up running from the cops?

These two actually hold the honor of being my first anime ship—Fairy Tail was my gateway anime, and Nalu was my first ship from it (thanks, Faun on both counts!)

I like how there’s hints that they could be a couple right off the bat, like Natsu’s arrival snapping Lucy out of the love spell when none of the other girls under it were affected, but that it isn’t fully a romantic subplot immediately. The focus is more on developing their friendship, and even though they’re not together by the end of the original manga, there’s not any question of why they WOULD fall for each other at some point in the future. Time and time again, they’ve saved each other, been there for each other, and just enjoyed each other’s company. I like a good friends-to-lovers, what can I say.

Also: THE FUCKING TREE. NATSU UPROOTED A GIANT RAINBOW CHERRY TREE AND FLOATED IT DOWN THE RIVER JUST SO LUCY COULD SEE IT. THAT’S REALLY FUCKING CUTE OKAY. Especially because, for those unfamiliar, he did in fact put the tree back afterwards.

And finally:

5. Superwomen in Love—Honey Trap and Rapid Rabbit

This is mostly an excuse to talk about this manga, because it is a LESBIAN SUPERHERO ROMCOM and more people need to read it.

Honey Trap, a villain, defeats Rapid Rabit, the heroine, in battle, gleefully removes the helmet of her costume… and is immediately smitten. As a result, she lets her get away, gets kicked out of her villain org, and ends up as Rabbit’s roommate, because Rabbit is the sweetest person in existence.

Fun superhero battles ensue as they try to take down the villain organization Honey used to be part of, while meanwhile Honey tries her hardest to get Rabbit to fall for her, and there’s a healthy dose of “and they were ROOMMATES,” which is always a fun time! Plus, one thing I specifically like about this manga is that the fact that they’re gay is a complete non-issue—the only “how can two women—?” of any kind is when Rabbit is (understandably I think) baffled by a different lesbian couple in the story having what’s essentially a biological daughter.

Superwomen in Love!!! Go read it, it’s fun!!!
