Cordonian Royal Family (A Bad Romance Extra)
I wanted to share these images because they're fabulous. I didn't make most of them, I suck at these things, but I love them and felt like they should be seen by others. Of course, me being me, I wanted to give information about each character but if I'm doing that, then it needs to read like an article in the Cordonian Star so here we are. Enjoy! It’s been one year since the death of His Royal Majesty Constantine Arthur Augustus Hector Rys in an unfortunate ceiling collapse at the palace just days before the current king announced his engagement to the queen.
King Constantine was married three times, sired two sons, and fostered three other children. Here is a look at the royal family today.

His Royal Majesty Liam Nicolai Ulysses Augustus Rys
King of Cordonian, Duke of Stormholt, Duke of Bellmede, Duke of Valtoria, Earl of Alriel, Earl of Ennan, Earl of Lykos, Baron of Throngate, Lord of the Isles and Commander in Chief of the Cordonian Royal Forces.
From Spare to Heir. Never meant for the throne, this second-born son of royalty was thrust into the role of leader when his older brother abdicated. Many believe he was always more temperamentally suited for the role. Indeed, after a rocky start, Cordonia has thrived under his leadership.
Tied romantically to only a small number of women in his youth, (and one alleged man), King Liam’s younger years were as devoid of scandal and impropriety as his brother’s were full of them. He received good marks at the prestigious, elite Wellingford Academy and later Epton College.
He managed to stay out of the spotlight for the most part until his eventful social season. Marrying a commoner and a foreigner, changing the laws of succession for his children, and legalizing gay marriage, he has a track record as a progressive and is viewed favorably by the majority of Cordonians.
Her Royal Majesty Riley Catherine Brooks Rys
Queen of Cordonian, Duchess of Stormholt, Duchess of Bellmede, Duchess of Valtoria, Countess of Alriel, Countess of Ennan, Countess of Lykos, Baroness of Throngate, Lady of the Isles and Champion of the Realm.
Rumored to have had a contentious relationship with the late king, this last-minute addition to the present king’s social season was a long shot. As an American and a commoner, she reportedly was not King Constantine’s first, or even second, choice for his son.
Always King Liam’s favorite, however, she was a front-runner from the moment she set foot on Cordonian soil, her beauty, charm, and grace captivating the nation. Meeting at a bar in New York where she was his waitress, their whirlwind romance seemingly ended in scandal, accusations of infidelity, and the king’s engagement to another woman.
Their love endured despite the obstacles and in an astonishing turn of events, not only was her name cleared, but the king made a move as historically unprecedented as it was shocking, breaking a council-approved political engagement and marrying for love.
Prince Leonardo Tiberius Constantine Fabian Rys
Prince of Cordonia, Duke of Abanthus, Earl of Ebrimel, Baron of Auverneen.
Born into privilege and wealth, he threw it all away in what many consider a selfish and short-sighted move led by the vagaries and hubris of youth. Other interpretations range from the young prince simply recognizing that his brother was better suited to rule; to unsubstantiated rumors that he was pressured into stepping down by his father.
Prince Leo bounced around between elite boarding schools, both domestic and abroad before making barely passable marks at Epton College. Dubbed by the media as the Playboy Prince of the Mediterranean, he has been romantically linked to the likes of Olivia Nevrakis, Duchess of Lythikos, Princess Margot of Auvernall, and American actress Victoria Fontaine.
Abdicating both as Crown Prince of Cordonian and Duke of Stormholt, he retains the title of Prince as well as holding the titles Duke of Abanthus, Earl of Ebrimel, and Baron of Auverneen while living abroad. The Playboy Prince is still unattached.
Captain Drake Nolan Walker
Lord Commander of the Queen’s Guard, Knight Protector of the Realm.
Born to commoners, he and his sister were taken in and raised by the royal family after his father’s death in service to the crown. Having lived in the palace since the age of six, he became a ward of the crown at age fourteen and received the same basic upbringing and education as the princes.
Unlike the princes, he dedicated his life to military service, later following in his father’s footsteps by transferring to the Royal Guard. During King Liam’s social season, Captain Walker was charged with killing a man. All charges were eventually dropped, and he was exonerated when it came out that he was acting undercover on the king’s orders as a de facto member of Queen Riley’s security detail.
He currently serves the crown as captain of the Queen’s Guard, lives at the palace, remains close friends with the king, and is by all accounts deeply devoted to the queen.
Her Grace Savannah Evangeline Walker Beaumont
Duchess of Ramsford.
Like her brother, the duchess became a ward of the crown after the death of her father when she was twelve years old. She retained the title of Lady until the advent of her marriage to the Duke of Ramsford, Bertrand Beaumont, raised her status to duchess.
Scandal rocked Duchy Ramsford when it was revealed that the duchess had a child out of wedlock. She left Cordonia, taking the heir to Ramsford with her. She lived abroad for a year before returning and reuniting with the duke. They were married in an elaborate ceremony a few months after her return.
Unidentified sources close to the couple report the marriage is strained and often rocky.
His Grace Bertrand Atticus Beaumont
Duke of Ramsford, Leader of the House of Lords, Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal.
Taking on the role of Duke at a young age, he, along with the rest of the world, was shocked by the return of his presumed dead father, the late Duke Barthelemy Beaumont. His Grace relinquished control of the duchy to his father only to pick up the mantle again a few months later when the late Duke of Ramsford was killed in a head-on collision on his way home from a meeting at the palace.
He currently serves in the House of Lords as The Lord Leader, a position he has held for the last five years.
His ties to the monarchy are many and varied. His marriage to Savannah Walker made him a de facto member of the royal family, as did making the queen an official member of House Beaumont as part of his sponsorship of her during the king’s social season. His younger brother, Lord Maxwell Beaumont serves as the queen's top advisor and personal assistant. Prince Leo is a close friend, was the best man at his wedding, and is godfather to his son.
Lord Barthelemy Jackson Beaumont
Future Duke of Ramsford.
As the only child of the Duke and Duchess of Ramsford, young Lord Barthelemy is the heir to the duchy, nephew to the Lord Commander of the Queen’s Guard Captain Drake Walker, and to the queen’s personal assistant, Lord Maxwell Beaumont, has Prince Leo as a godfather and is treated as a grandchild by the queen mother.
Her Grace Olivia Vanderwall Nevrakis
Duchess of Lythikos, Counsellor of State.
Also a ward of the crown, Duchess Olivia Nevrakis lost her parents in a tragic car accident when she was five years old. The late Queen Eleanor sent for her, and she was raised and educated at the palace, taking over control of Duchy Lythikos from her aunt at the age of sixteen.
Lythikos has thrived under her leadership, and she is beloved by the people. A suitor in King Liam’s social season, she has also been romantically linked to his brother, Prince Leo. Sources close to the duchess report that her participation in the social season was out of courtesy and duty as she and the king have always enjoyed a close friendship, but nothing more.
She currently resides at Lykos Keep, sits on the king’s small council, and divides her time between Lythikos and the capital.
Her Royal Majesty Regina Beatrice Amaranth Rys
Queen Mother, Dowager Duchess of Stormholt, Countess of Loutreo.
Born in Krona, her father was the younger brother of the late Duke, Karolos Amaranth. The current Duchess of Krona, Adelaide Amaranth, is her cousin. A countess in her own right, she became queen when she married King Constantine after a lengthy courtship.
She was the late king’s third wife. Marrying later in life, she had no biological children of her own but was instrumental in the upbringing of both her stepsons and the other three children entrusted to the monarchs’ care.
Now a widow, the queen mother continues to live at the palace, advises the queen, and works with the various charities she has championed over the years, notably Hope Haven a nationwide organization that works with homeless youth, and The Empowerment Zone a nonprofit helping single mothers.
Her Royal Highness Eleanor Elizabeth Hana Olivia Rys
Crown Princess of Cordonia.
Born just six days ago, Cordonia’s newest princess has already captivated the hearts of the nation. The king and queen have retreated to the queen’s estate in Valtoria while they adjust to new parenthood, taking with them, among others, the queen's personal assistant, Lord Maxwell Beaumont. No nannies are yet in residence, but Duchess Hana Lee, the queen’s best friend and official Master of the Household, is.
This exclusive photo, which originally appeared in The Cordonian Star yesterday, is the only public photograph of the crown princess, who was named after her grandmother, the late Queen Eleanor.

Case and point, in TRR you can shag your friend the night before your wedding and your Li will practically fluff you before you go!... Well not Immortal Desires... PB really said we'll give you poly, but the hard way!!!!!!... I mean omg are you joking me, every freaking time you choose between the two, you get either a jealous stare or a hurt look... How do you want to be known on Tumblr? Angela
1- When did you start playing Choices? What's the first book you played?
Back in 2017ish, I played The Freshman series, all of it, without spending a single diamond! (I looked up the diamond scenes on youtube, shhh). I started multiple games trying to diamond mine but kept wanting to actually play them, so I ended up deleting the app and forgetting about it. Fast forward to 2020, the pandemic was in full swing, we were stuck at home, and I was bored. I reinstalled the app and played Rules of Engagement. I spend diamonds. I married Leo. I moved on to TRR because I read that the prince in question was Leo’s brother.
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I went to Reddit to feed my choices addiction, so does that count? I was on there end of 2020, I’d guess. Everyone was discussing how PB hinted at a polyamorous ending for TRR but didn’t deliver. Then someone said there was poly fanfic out there, and I was like, where? I hit google and ended up on Tumblr sometime in 2021.
3- How did you pick your url name?
So this is a funny story! When my kids were little, a town we live near, Mckinney, used to have a huge weekend-long extravaganza downtown the weekend after Thanksgiving called A Dickens of a Christmas. One of the big attractions was the train that ran around the square. It was hosted by the local magic shop, but the line, and the wait, was always very long. To keep everyone entertained, they had performers. There was a man on stilts who somehow ended up in some weird rivalry with my then eight-year-old son. I can’t remember how it started, but when one would see the other, they’d point and scream, “BAH HUMBUG!” There were people hula hooping with glow-in-the-dark hoops, and there was a magician. So one night, we are standing in line, and the magician comes over to us and is doing card tricks. He asked my then eight-year-old son (same kid, yeah, he makes friends wherever we go lol) to pull a card. He did. Then he handed him a pen and told him to write his name on it. Now my son is extremely dyslexic and struggled a lot with reading and writing. He tried to decline and hand it back, but the magician insisted. Finally, Todd takes the pen and scribbles on the card, and hands it back. The magician looks at it and says, “This is your name?” My son says, “My name is Todd.” The man replies, “Your name is Todd Scribbles?” Which sent him and me and the rest of my kids into a fit of giggles. He called him Todd Scribbles for the rest of the night. He did the magic trick of shuffling the cards and still pulling Todd’s card, then he gave it to him, and he brought it home and hung it up. His siblings called him Todd Scribbles forever. When I made my WordPress blog, I wanted something cute and memorable for the title. I remembered Todd Scribbles. And I thought scribbles are writing. I’m writing. These are my scribbles. Angela’s Scribbles. I stole his name. He was fine with it. When I came to Tumblr, I just stuck with the blog name I was already using on WordPress.
4- Go back to your archive and tell us about the first post on your Choices blog.
It was a one-shot called First Date. It’s TRR book one, the night before the Beaumont bash when Liam asks MC on his first real date. After the date, he walks her back to her room, and they are making out in the hallway when they hear a noise and pull apart. Who was it? They had no servants, and Bertrand and Max knew Liam was there. I always HC it was Drake, inadvertently stumbling upon them. So I wrote that night from his POV.
5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Since February of 2021 technically. I posted First Date, another one shot titled Confrontation, and the four chapters of The Proposal between February and March 2021, as well as some Ride or Die chapters, to the sound of crickets. I left and ignored Tumblr until August 2021. I really am not sure why I came back, but I decided to try again. My original idea was to write what happened at Ramsford during those three weeks between book 1 and book 2. I posted the first chapter of Three Weeks in Ramsford on August 1st, 2021, and never looked back.
6- What is your favorite Choices book to write about?
The Royal Romance
7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?
My first series was Three Weeks at Ramsford. I definitely think I’d write it better now, I’ve grown as a writer. Also, I now wish I’d gone with my original idea of having Drake show up in person, not just smuggle a letter and a cell phone to her.
8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
Bad Romance, hands down.
9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but could use a little more love?
Bad Romance. I expected people to lose their minds, and they did, just not in the way I expected. It was supposed to be a one-shot and was a direct pushback against the notion that some of my characters were toxic. Basically, I was like, you wanna see toxic? Here, hold my beer! Everyone begged for more, and the first several chapters were really just me trying to see how toxic and messed up I could make everything/everyone. Then somewhere along the way, these characters started whispering motivations and desires to me, and everything changed. I ended up with a still lil toxic but pretty cool, fully functioning, open, honest, and loving polycule.
For the second part of the question, maybe Leo and Liv. I put Leo and Liv together in a one-shot randomly but then loved them together and started a series just for them. But to be fair, I haven’t gotten very far with it. It keeps getting pushed to the side for other projects.
10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Why would you ask me that? Aaagghh, what a difficult choice! If I’m forced to choose, I guess it would have to be angst. I can’t live without emotion. Emotion drives everything, including the fluff and the smut, right? Angst is where you get to showcase the emotion.
11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
Of course. I think we all do this. I have said frequently, too many people, that while no version of MC is me, there are pieces of me in every version of her.
12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?
This keeps changing. When I first started writing fanfiction, I was like, “Write smut? Oh no! I could never! It would be too awkward!” Now I’m like, “You want a threesome? BDSM? Just another Tuesday, ho hum.” Then it was humour. I remember the first time I sat down to write something to purposely make people laugh. It was a lot of work, but it paid off. Then I wrote an entire one-shot that was humour. It was still a lot of work. Then I wrote an entire miniseries that was humour and it became easier and easier the more I did it. Practice makes perfect. I never thought I could do tragedy either. I could not bear to hurt my characters like that. Now I think I’ve killed off almost everyone at some point or another. My biggest struggle is neglecting current projects when new ideas occur to me.
13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
Yes. Heir Apparent and Leo and Liv. Also, my original novel that has been woefully neglected, even though it’s only a few chapters away from completion.
14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first? Yes. And I already have. Two of my friends have read most of my stuff. I recommended they start with Bad Romance because it’s my favorite, and they did.
15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing? So many. I was a huge Stephen King fan as a teenager/young adult, and I devoured his books. Consequently, my first few short stories were horror. Anne Rice likewise fed my love of the supernatural, and not just Interview with a Vampire (though it was great), but the rest of her vampire books, as well as Taltos and the rest of the Witches of Mayfair series. Deborah Harkness and her Discovery of Witches are partially to blame for my obsession with witches. I also read copious amounts of fantasy and sci-fi. Marion Zimmer Bradley stands out for turning a well-known story on its head. Changing literally none of the major details we all know and love about the King Arthur story (Mists of Avalon) and somehow, at the same time, making it into a completely different story! (helped with my love of a good plot twist). Also notable are Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game, Seventh Son), Robert Heinlein (Stranger in a Strange Land), Ben Bova (Endless Universe), and Issac Asimov (I, Robot. Robots of Dawn). As a child, Marguerite Henry wrote books about horses that were achingly beautiful to me, particularly Misty of Chincoteague. Louisa May Alcott (Little Women) and Margaret Mitchell (Gone with the Wind) for epic, heart-wrenching storytelling. Sheri S. Tepper captured my attention as a teen with Maven Manyshaped and again as an adult with The Gate to Women’s Country, fostering my fixation of addressing issues of inequality and ingrained sexism in my work. I love a good mystery, and Sharyn McCrumb writes them with all the majestic beauty of Appalachia as a backdrop and liberal amounts of supernatural suspense. The Dark Part of the Forest by Holly Black delighted me for flipping the script, putting the prince in a magical sleep in a glass coffin in the woods, and having the girl hero run around with a sword. At some point, I moved on to paranormal romance. I had never been a romance reader, but these books took me by storm. My favorite authors in that genre are Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, and Laurell K. Hamilton. I have read everything all three of them have ever written. If you want polyamory on steroids, you can’t go wrong with Laurell K. Hamilton; she makes my Bad Romance gang look positively sweet, innocent, and vanilla. Let’s not forget the master of poetry and horror alike (according to me anyway), Edgar Allan Poe. He’s the reason I started writing poetry. My favorite poem is by him; it’s called Alone. And of course, The Raven and The TellTale Heart. I am beyond positive I’m leaving some out.
As far as other fanfic writers go, I strive to be as funny as @harleybeaumont, as angsty @burnsoslow as tragically beautiful as @dcbbw as evocative as @txemrn for my Drake to have as much swagger and sex appeal as @karahalloway and for my Leo to be as funny and endearing as @queenrileyrose.
16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
I think Savage Love would make a good action movie. I think Bad Romance would make a good series, like a modern-day Game of Thrones meets Bridgerton.
17- Do you write original stories?
Yes. My WordPress blog is full of flash fiction, poetry, essays, and one of my original short stories. The rest of my short stories are waiting for me to either submit them to online fiction publications or publish them myself as a collection of short stories. I have three original novels in progress, one is almost complete. My original work is mostly horror, fantasy, and paranormal romance.
18 - What other hobbies do you have?
Reading. Photography. Camping/Hiking. Live music/sports. Collecting books (related to, but different from reading). Acting.
19 - What’s your favorite emoji?
20: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).
I guess if you’re interested in my personal life, I can tell you that I have seven children I can claim by birth or adoption and five more that I have partially raised for some amount of time spanning from six months to seven years, making a total of 12 children that have come through my home over the years. My husband and I have been married for twenty years; we live on a small farm in Texas, where we raise chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and goats currently (we used to raise hogs as well). We have four dogs, two cats, a couple of bearded dragons, two snakes, and run a turtle rehab. We have a couple of box turtles and many aquatic turtles of different types. My 17-year-old (Todd Scribbles lol) is a fierce advocate for them and is the reason all our friends and family now stop to help turtles cross roads (safely and correctly, of course!). Three of my kids play volleyball competitively and are stupid good at it, they did not get that athletic ability from me. I love playing sports but am generally uncoordinated. My favorite sport is baseball, my favorite team is, of course, the Texas Rangers, and the greatest pitcher of all time was Nolan Ryan, and this is the reason my Drake’s middle name is Nolan.
I sometimes process grief through my writing. When I wrote Maximum Damage, I didn’t plan it, but when I got to that part, Maxwell received the same injuries and recovery time as my oldest son did when he had his car accident. I have also lost loved ones to suicide, so writing that scene was hard as well. I wrote Betrayal after coming home from a memorial service and watching my nephew grieve for his wife. When I wrote Almost, again, it wasn’t planned, but when I got to the end, some of my own emotions about fear of losing a child came into play. Our youngest child is not biologically ours, and we have had to fight for her. We lost. She was ripped away and then given back. It’s why TRH 3 was so hard for me to get through and why I will never write MC losing custody of her child for even two minutes.
Just because I don’t want to end on a sad note, I need to tell ya’ll more stuff, lol. I was in the Army, I went to Texas A&M for undergrad and got my master's at Texas Woman’s University. When I lived in Laredo, we used to walk across the Rio Grande into Mexico on the weekends to go shopping. I have lived in Texas most of my life, but I did live in Arizona in a hippie commune when I was four. Yes, my mother was a flower child. She had a white mustang covered in those flowers you stick to the bottom of the tub. The car’s name was flower. After my mom remarried, we lived in Oklahoma at Fort Sill (I was an Army brat). I ran off to Ohio briefly at some point, and I spent ten days in New York City with a theatre group. I love musical theatre though I cannot sing. I was a theatre kid in high school and have done community theatre as an adult. I worked for over twenty years as a child development expert and only recently quit. I’m still figuring out what I want to do next. I worked for Half Price Books for two years in college, and it was a really fun job. My coworkers were all writers, artists, and musicians. I developed my love for live music by going to my manager's gigs on the weekends. Now I’m boring and never go anywhere but volleyball with my kids. I’m a raging night owl and have moderate to severe ADHD, which explains how I write so much. It’s a current hyper fixation. It’s also the reason I tend to overshare. Sorry.

Are any of your pairings poly? Would they consider it in HC or an AU?
Hello there, @choicesasknonnie! Idk if you're referring to the recent essay I'm doing or in general, but I'll try to address both possible questions.
In terms of the canonical "alternative LIs" in TRR, I'd like to reiterate that personally I don't like any of them and therefore won't use them at all in my TRR stories. Plus the way TRR handled it soured me on wanting to write it in those stories. I do think @angelasscribbles does some very good work with her polyam series' tho and I highly recommend them.
HOWEVER, I do have four "universes" for my Perfect Match stories - with different MCs and different Haydens. Of those, two of my MCs are polyam. In those specific universes, Hayden and Sloane themselves do get to find other partners as well besides the one they have with the MC. PM did a pretty good job establishing their MC as someone (optionally) polyam, and so I'm pretty comfortable exploring that WITH that canon MC in mind.

Thank you for your answer, and thank you for putting so much thought into that 💞💞💞 mal and nia are my main LIs and at first I was really glad that at least two members of the party stayed with each other and mb even got closer but I can see how it would be annoying and/or sad for people who romance one of them exclusively. I think that I mostly just want to see eeal bonds between our party bc idk it just feels a bit hollow? In the first book they were just thrown together by chance but a whole year has passed and without MC there to hold them together it just shows how much less there is with exception of some banter and general sympathy towards one another. I also think that excluding Threep and other non-romancable characters from the main friend group makes most of the dynamic in choices hollow bc lmao all these people are here to try and fuck us and no one cares about each other beyond that. I don't really like TRR or TF but I feel like friendship was so much richer in previous books, like those two series, OH and TE - and in PM they managed to create a poly route where I could feel solid platonic bonds between people other than MC and LIs (Sloane and Hayden, Steve and Hayden or Damien and Nadia). Or mb I'm just a bit underwhelmed with the current plot course in blades lmao (sorry for rambling around the same three thoughts I just can't seem to gather my thoughts on this whole thing together 🫡)
I’m so sorry, I meant to respond to this sooner. But no, I completely get what you’re saying! You made some good points.
Even though all of these characters were kind of thrown together in book 1, personally I did feel like they were more like a family by the end of it. And I think that’s one of the reasons why everyone loved Blades so much. However, I do understand why the bonds aren’t as tight in this book. It makes sense for there to be some distance between everyone after what happened to MC and the apparent strife it caused. But I feel like they haven’t done enough to fully bring the group back together again and reform those poignant emotional bonds.
As you basically said with the exception of some banter and general sympathy towards one another, pretty much all of the focus is on each member’s relationship with MC alone. And even those relationships are very one sided with each person relying on MC for support, but not giving much in return. When the main cast is tied together by genuine relationships with each other rather than simply all waiting for their turns in MC’s bed, it’s really great to see and makes for a better book overall. That’s why the Pend Pals are still my personal favorite friend group to this day.
I will say that I actually don’t feel like the relationship dynamics in Blades specifically are hollow because everyone’s trying to sleep with MC though. And maybe that’s because I’m only romancing Mal (and flirting with Aerin on the side). But yeah, I think it’s because the writers have really been ignoring the opportunities to capitalize off of emotional beats (which I’ve said a few times before) rather than the characters just not having more to their relationships at all

pls tell me about ur TRR mc and who you're romancing!!!
i haven't really characterized her much beyond how she is in the book, but there are a few things
her name is Riley Vasquez, and at first she only joined the whole. fiancee competition thing bc she wanted to be able to travel but knew she'd never be able to as a waitress in NYC.
she did take the competition very seriously though, bc she would have felt bad about traveling on the Beaumont's dime when the Beaumonts hardly have a dime to spare. but she is bisexual & poly & is going to end up in a throuple w Hana and Liam.
tbh she'd have been fine w the whole Madeline-being-queen thing if Madeline had approached her about it instead of the whole Tariq thing happening
also my theory for that: it wasn't Madeline who set her up but Madeline's mother. im only like three chapters into book two though and im just assuming based on the fact that she was introduced this book and we haven't seen her since her introduction and this is pb we're talking about.

I’m sorry but.. I’m disappointed. There are tons of variables for “hoeing around” but none for actual poly? I was so excited for this project ever since it was announced but now feel like I won’t be able to even properly enjoy it. And honestly … it feels like it perpetuates the idea that all poly people are whores or cheaters… even if that wasn’t the intent. It just really hurts :/

as someone who is poly themselves, i also wanted to see a poly route in ilw, but after recently joining the team as a programmer (and pseudo writer), and looking at how everything has been set up as well as reading through the full story and coding said jealousy variants, it would infact not do poly rep justice.
from reading the faq, you may say “oh it can still work out as poly, you just have to try hard enough” as that’s what i said too. but with the context of the full story, knowing the love interests, and the history they have with eachother (and rowan(mc)) as well as taking into account their own sexualities, it would be almost insulting to push them into a polyamorous relationship
im not going to reiterate what was already previously answered. but, we are not pb, we see the love interests as their own individuals with their own minds, ideas and values. not just people who are there to make rowan (mc) happy. so yes, as default if you’re flirting w multiple people in a friend group, said people you’re flirting with are bound to feel some type of way. regardless of whether mc themselves is poly.
poly rep should be real rep, where it’s intentional and well written. where even with characters as complex as the ones in ilw, it wouldn’t be out of character, random or odd. i’ve thought of many ways to some how incorporate a poly route in this work but trust me when i say it would do more harm than good.
imagine all the times pb randomly asked if we wanted to hook up with Li 2/3/4 after we fully committed to Li 1(d&d/ trr)? or like the time in the elementalists where they ask you abt your sexuality and then go and say “well here you can also hook up w ppl you said you weren’t attracted to!” a few chapters later, like yeah it can be fun for shits and giggles but at the standpoint of seriousness it’s a slap in the face and just weird (at least to me).
and i know this is fiction, but in real life do you honestly expect everyone you’re attracted to be poly? and if they aren’t poly, to be okay with sharing you? without any jealousy or conflict? to share you with people they have beef with? people they don’t know or trust?
im sorry that you feel hurt, pb has shit poly rep to begin with and this work doesn’t have any, i can def understand your frustration and pain.
but, i do hope that this cleared a few things up! much love, sugar

A/N: I teased this one a long while back. Finally had some inspiration for it, so here's the first chapter!

Riley’s eyes widened as her mouth fell open. “Wait…you want me to go to the palace with you?”
“Yeah,” Max nodded, “I need a wingman, Riley, and you’re really good at it!”
“But—”
Max took in her hesitation and a startling thought occurred to him. “Oh! Is this awkward because we…because of…”
“Oh, good god, no!” Riley threw her head back and laughed. It was a full-throated belly laugh. Her hand landed on his bicep as she leaned forward to catch her breath. “I love you, Max. Truly, deeply, madly, but as friends! You know that!”
“I know.” His fingers scratched at the freshly shorn hairline along the back of his neck as a flush raced across his face. “I just wanted to be sure…after what happened last month…”
Riley stepped closer and traced a finger across his lips. “I don’t regret it if that’s what you’re worried about.”
He shivered as her touch sent a sliver of desire sparking through him and, without much conscious thought, his arm shot out to pull her in even closer. “Does that mean we can do it again sometime?”
She laughed again as she gazed up into the cobalt-blue eyes that were as familiar to her as her own emerald-green orbs. Max had been her best friend since they met in a ridiculously overpriced private kindergarten.
Neville Van Couer, big for his age and just as disagreeable then as he was now, had yanked Max’s stuffed octopus from his arms and was holding it above his head, taunting him with it.
“Please give back Sir Inks a Lot.” Max’s trembling voice betrayed his fierce determination not to cry. “My mom gave him to me.”
“Oh, are you going to cry, little crybaby? It’s just a stupid toy. I tell you what—”
“Give it back.” A firm, uncompromising voice cut in.
Neville spun to find the interloper. His malicious grin widened when his eyes fell on the slight girl with the wispy brown hair. “And what are you going to do about it if I don’t?”
Without warning or preamble, the girl moved. She darted forward so quickly that Neville had no time to process what was happening. A sharp blow to his stomach sent him pitching forward, grabbing his midsection as the toy was ripped from his grasp.
“Here.” The girl thrust the plushie out to Max.
He wiped the moisture from his tear-streaked cheeks with one hand as he reached out for his beloved Sir Inks a Lot with the other. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” She gave him a bright smile that washed all of his sadness away. “My name’s Riley. Want to play with me?”
“We can do it anytime you want.” She assured him. “It’s not like we’re not good at.”
Max smiled at the reference to their romantic and sexual past.
They had lost their virginity to each other in high school and spent six months exploring everything the other had to offer. Then Max had confessed to being bisexual and wanting to explore with other people. Primarily men. His relief when Riley had agreed to break up romantically but remain friends had been overwhelming. She was and remained the closest friend he had.
A month ago, they had gotten drunk and fallen into bed together. It had felt good, comfortable, and familiar. He loved her.
That didn’t mean he wasn’t in love with Liam and that’s why he needed her support at the upcoming Beltane Ball that the palace held every year.
His arms tightened around her. “So to be clear, you know I love you and you’re okay helping me try to get Liam’s attention?”
Her grin widened until her cheeks hurt. “Boy, yes. Did we or did we not discover relationship anarchy at the same time?”
Giddiness crashed through his chest. The idea that you could love people but still remain autonomous was brilliant enough. Add in the deconstruction of things like relationship hierarchy and mono-normativity and, well, it had been paradigm-shifting.
“Okay,” he nodded as relief washed over him. “I would never do anything to hurt you, Riley!”
“I know.” She leaned up and kissed him softly on the lips.
He melted against her for a moment, then drew back. Because he had to know for sure everything was okay between them. “Then why the hesitancy when I asked you to go to the ball with me?”
“Because I’ve never been to the palace, silly!” Her family was insanely wealthy, but not noble.
“Oh, yeah!” Max tended to forget the difference in their social status. Mainly because it didn’t matter to him. People were people and titles like Duke and Count meant nothing when it came to what kind of person someone was. After all, Neville was noble.
“Oh, yeah! I mean…what do I even wear? Do I need to know how to curtsy? What if—”
Max cut her off by jerking her back into his embrace. “Don’t worry, padawan. We have two weeks. I’ll teach you everything you need to know!”
“Great!” Riley bounced on her toes, excitement swirling through her midsection.
The palace! What an exciting adventure!
She threw her arms around him. “We could make a week of it! Go into the city. Shopping, dining, museums, the theater….”
He dipped his head toward her, his lips bare inches from hers. “Can we share a room?”
“Oh, we’re going to share a lot more than a room!” she assured him just before their lips crashed together.

@angelasscribbles here. It's been over a month and Tumblr seems to be doing fuck all about fixing my blog issues. Every time I log in the first thing I see is the Tumblr-supported porn on the Tumblr live icons, yet my blog continues to be marked as explicit. Makes so much sense.
I have read horror stories from others that took months or years to get unblocked. Some never have. I really did consider just leaving. But honestly, I don't want to. If I'm done posting fanfiction for the friends and supporters I've met here, then I'm just done posting fanfiction. I do have my original work to get back to. Some day. But probably not this day lol.
The thought of moving two years worth of content is daunting. And likely the moment I finish such a huge project, they'll fix it. So I'm not sure I'm ready to give up all hope just yet. However, I did decide to go ahead and move some of my smaller series and most of my newer ones over.
At the very least I can post the new stuff from the new blogs without it being blocked. And I had fun creating them and reorganizing my stuff.

My favourite choices books are ones I can replay every year... I don't like to replay often but if I can do it once a year then I'm good...
To be honest a lot of them are og-ish books... The new books I don't really like that much but it's one or two that maybe I can get down with...
So my favs are... In no particular order... Its literally three books I think...
Bloodbound... I can probably play this book two times a year I love the characters so fucking much... I love me some Adrian and lily... Damit Jax too (I only say that coz he dies in my playthrough, urgh I cried so much no lie) ... But this book is my everything...
The Royal Romance... This was my first choices book... I was so depressed and I randomly downloaded this app, I just found myself lost in Cordonia and fell in love with Liam... This book brought me through some hard times and is probably my number 1... I finished TRH but I didn't even play that finale book, I played one chapter and never went back it seemed crap ... I will one day I suppose but TRR is my jam, not the rest 😬
Blades of light and shadow... Ummm obviously I would have to be a crazy person if this wasn't on my list... I love literally everything about this book... Which character is shit? That's right none... Fabulous book, I want to be MC and get dick down by Tyril (did I say that out loud?)... I really love this book because modern shit is cool and all but take me back in time or to a fantasy world and you have me hooked and in this case take me to Tyril and you can have my money...
The Nanny Affair... I don't know why I like this book... Errrr that's a lie... The smut and the audacity... I just think Sam and the MC are just so selfish and perfect for each other it's unreal... They both think they are better than everyone and are just literally on their high horse and lusting over each other without remorse... I love a messy romance... On paper I should hate this book because its not fantasy, historical or full of gore but I love me this book... I have replayed it three times, what does that say about me... Idk, that I'm trash I guess.
Endless Summer... I actually haven't played this book since it ended... But when it was airing I replayed it constantly... I don't like unhappy endings... I will replay it one day but the image of Sean heart-broken and alone got me so hard... I know you can be stuck on the island but my dumb ass romanced Sean so I just kept thinking he would be sad without his mom... Its a whole mess... It left me feeling hollow... I like happy endings sue me alright...
Ride or die... I love all the love interests I would marry them in a poly ceremony... Nina is my wife, Colt and Logan are hot... Its just that pb decided not to do a book two... I hate that there is so much you could do with this story but they gave up.. oh welp...
I mean I think these are the only choices stories I replay or have replayed... I would say I replayed the freshman at some point but I don't really like that book, I was just deep in the fandom so I did it (OK I also like Zig but that book was shit to me, I hated reading it)... There are other choices books I like I just never replayed them, not once, I really like that pirate book but I didn't finish when someone spoiled the ending, did I say I hate sad endings, TRM was good but again never replayed... Accept AMA which I replayed book 1 and two randomly when I was at my cousins house coz I weirdly missed Adam (don't ask but he's a vet, that's cute)... I will never play that book again tho...
So yeah I don't really replay choices books or play them tbh... Its a lot of books I've left halfway and thought fuck this, I don't like...

Just saw u currently read Nightbound before TRH and TRF. Are u reading it for the first time? If yes, I tell u it's good. Underrated, but good. A/N: This came about because I told @darley1101 that the kid and I were having Joe Corbi’s for dinner, she had no clue what I was talking about, so I explained and she asked me to write it for the gang. I had no business making a moodboard for this Drabble but happy Henney! This would be a bit after Percy and Athena get married, enjoy the fluff!

“I could really go for some chee-zee bread right now.” Athena said gently rubbing her large bump.
Bailey’s eyes lit up. “Yes! I’ve missed chee-zee bread so much!”
“I can have the palace chefs make you some cheesy bread if you miss it that much.” Liam said.
Bailey and Athena stared at him, eyes barely blinking. “You don’t make chee-zee bread.” Bailey explained.
“Nope.” Athena said popping the p. “You buy it and cook it at home, but you have to find someone who sells it first, it’s actually a pain in the ass now that I actually sit and think about it! But it’s so freaking good!”
Bailey nodded enthusiastically next to her cousin. Drake and Liam shared a confused look, and Percy chuckled. “I think you need to explain a little more doll.”
“Fine.” Athena sighed, she kept forgetting who she was with and ended up having to explain the, to her, simplest American things. “Chee-zee bread is probably the best thing on earth and probably contains zero real cheese as it doesn’t look like cheese at all. You can only get it from Joe Corbi’s which is why it’s such a pain in the ass.”
“Yup. Tracking someone down, waiting for your order. So frustrating!” Bailey added.
Athena looked at the still confused looks around her. “Joe Corbi’s is a company that only sells through fundraisers, so you get this make at home pizza or chee-zee bread that you keep in your freezer until you want to make it from those who are selling it to earn money for their organization.”
“We used to sell it for our school as kids all the time. Being a grown up sucked hard cause it was harder to find someone who was selling it.”
Athena nodded in agreement. “I basically stalked all my friends with kids on Facespace hoping someone was selling it.”
“But you still didn’t explain what it was.” Drake stated.
Bailey stared at him. “You shush! You have had chee-zee bread, and I might add it was my last slice!”
Drake looked at her completely lost. “What are you talking about?”
“Remember in college, you came by and for whatever reason decided to help yourself to the contents of my refrigerator and you ate my last piece.” Drake stared at her unblinking. “It was a rectangle with a creamy cheesy sauce and every bite was like pure bliss and you were raving it was the best thing ever?”
“Wait. That was chee-zee bread?” Bailey nodded. “And you can’t just get more at the store?”
“Nope.” Athena said popping the p.
“Ohmygod Bails, I’m so sorry!” Drake exclaimed.
“It’s okay, I’m the one who drank the rest of your whiskey.” Bailey replied with a shrug.
“That was you?”
