When they don’t bother to get to know your heart and soul because they’re too preoccupied getting addicted to your kindness. They don’t love you as a person. They love how you love them. Be careful never to let anyone get addicted to you. It can suck the life out of you.

Before you try to love their brokenness and try to fix what you can't, I hope you read this.
You can't fix people who are broken, you can't just decide to carry their hurt as if it was yours. You have to let people heal instead of trying to make them better.
You can't love a damaged person and expect them to love you with the same fire as you do.
I know you have a habit of fixing people with traumas that have shaken their soul and it's not your job.
You cannot love anyone into healing, you can respect their boundaries and watch them heal or you can let them be the messiest they've ever been because you can't collect someone's pieces and try to join them for them to be who they were before breaking apart.
I know you always try to make others see good even in their shitty days, you let yourself be everyone's punching bag, you fit into a void that in the end it's just you alone. You fix people who always leave. I know it's tiring to fix things, I know it's tiring to the one who mends what's broken but as much as you love broken people, learn to let them heal on their own.
I am proud of your big heart but as much as you're trying to rescue the world, learn to protect your brave heart.

I wish I knew how to stop being such a people pleaser but at this point in my life I can’t see it changing bc it’s like a personality trait. Any time I let someone down, however unintentional it may be, I’m intensely sad and beating myself up about it for agessss.

i've seen so many posts talking about percy adopting luke's role as chb's big brother. and while i do love the sentiment of percy being that safe space for all of those demigods, i think it would make an equal amount of sense for annabeth to also adopt that role. she's been at camp since she was seven years old, so not only does she have a deep understand of the chb community, but she can sympathize with all the youngers campers who are struggling to find a family within that community. furthermore, she is a resourceful two-time war veteran with more experience than almost every person in that camp combined. annabeth could also be the older and experience camper for all of the newcomers. period.

It’s so funny to me that the boss demeans Kazuki at every opportunity, calls him a peasant, poorly skilled, a bad influence. And yet it’s Kazuki who has gained in three years (probably less) what this man never could — the absolute loyalty and devotion of his son.
Like, the boss has tried to get Rei to take over the organization and accept his role in the family legacy, twice, and each time he’s dragged his feet reluctantly.
Meanwhile, all Kazuki has to say is, "Rei, we’re keeping this kid and raising her as our own" or "Rei, we're sneaking into the zoo to spy on our daughter because she’s mad at me and forgot her lunch" and Rei will sigh and groan but immediately go along with it like: “Ok, babe, whatever you want.”

Hemingway said about writing, "All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." When a poet’s heart bleeds, it is a good sign. It means he is feeling, that his heart still beats. But when his pen has dried, he has nothing more to say, as there is nothing more to feel. His heart now rests in a place called indifference.

I can't help but feel like I'll never be someone's first choice. They may respect me. Some may even like me, but I don't see anyone picking me, choosing me, or standing up for me when I'm standing alone. I guess people don't really believe that protectors need protecting, lovers need loving, and healers need to heal; even though it's often the case that we are the ones most deprived of care and support.

another note from the extended editions: what is the Aragorn/Eowyn dynamic? watching the theatrical cut it always seemed like a painfully unrequited crush. the extended edition scenes though... either I am crazy or or he DOES like her

Appreciate that while Lucy Carlyle is a female character with empathy as a superpower she is not the team mom propping everyone up with emotional support. Her normal social development got diverted at age 8 and she has the emotional intelligence of a rock. She thought a glamorous 18 year old lesbian was moving in on her burning the candle at both ends 15 year old sadboy crush. Also she attributes all the physical symptoms of that crush to indigestion. She doesn't ever give The Big Speech but she does end 3 out of 5 books by killing a CEO.

yeah Itachi's story is tragic. You know what would have made it more tragic? Imagine if after killing his family he found out that the entire coup was a lie. That there never was coup. Can you imagine how he would feel if that happened?
That's what itachi did to Sasuke.
Like Itachi, Sasuke also had to live with the knowledge that he killed his family. Like Itachi, Sasuke was manipulated and pushed into a corner to do it. But at least Itachi didn't have to live with finding out everything was a lie. Not that Itachi could live with what he did. Itachi took the cowards way out and used Sasuke to die. And then he just expected Sasuke to live with it. Itachi really took his pain, doubled it, and handed it to Sasuke. And Sasuke, who thought he'd finally be free to live his life with Itachi gone, now found out that not only was he not free, he was left holding an even bigger burden for his family. And Sasuke didn't have a way out. There wasn't a convenient younger brother to pawn it off to. Not that sasuke would have ever done what Itachi did to him to someone else.
You can argue trying to provoke Naruto into killing him at the bridge fight is similar. But the whole reason Sasuke did it is because he doesn't believe Naruto and the rest of team 7 actually care about him or his family. A belief reinforced by the fact that 2 of the three actually were trying to kill him. Also different is that Sasuke really was ready to engage in a real fight, he wasn't just trying to manipulate Naruto and put on a show. Sasuke has more integrity than Itachi and Sasuke values free will. That's the difference between Itachi and Sasuke. Itachi was an ego-centric Machiavellian who doesn't see his own hypocrisy, and Sasuke is a really good, decent person put through the worst circumstances you can imagine who is trying to hold onto his humanity.
