Gotta Believe {Eddie Munson x Plus Size Reader}
Tumblr media
Plot: Eddie overhears you getting bullied for your weight so he steps in and shuts it down.
Character: Eddie Munson x Plus Size Reader
Warnings: Bullying, negative comments about plus size body, negative thoughts, insecurities
Requested by @psychoticauthor
You and Eddie Munson weren't really friends, you knew him through association but didn't actually know him. He was known round the school as Eddie 'the freak' Munson. You didn't really get why, sure he was pretty out there, a little wild and from what you knew he was into board games but how did that classify someone as a freak? You didn't know. Regardless, you were strangers so Eddie Munson was the last person you thought would be stepping in when Jason and his cronies started making comments about you.
You'd been plus size pretty much all of your teenage years. Sometimes you hated it, other times you didn't mind it. Being at school, being surrounded by people half the size of you, being constantly looked at, jeered at... made you hate your body. You tried to ignore it, tried to let it slide off of you like water on a duck's back but you simply couldn't. You could only ignore so much before it started to affect you. The end of high school couldn't come quick enough honestly. You couldn't wait to get out of here and be away from all of the jerks.
It honestly depended on the day, you thought, whether or not Jason and crew picked on you. Some days they left you alone but days like today when they were riled up from their basketball practice... it meant they looked for people to torment.
You heard them before you saw them; could hear their jeers and remarks to other students that were busy minding their own business. Quickly, you tried to grab your stuff from your locker as fast as you could but you couldn't beat them.
"Oh, there she is!" Jason's voice boomed down the hallway.
Dread began to fill you. Maybe if you ignored him, he'd back off.
"Oh the whale's ignoring us today boys!" The boys all snickered and laughed at Jason calling you a whale.
Already, you could feel the tears building in your eyes. You just weren't in the mood, not like you ever were, but today all you wanted to do was have a hole open up in the ground and swallow you hole. You were sick of the way that they spoke to you, as though they had any say in your body and what you look like. What was the big deal that you were fat? Was is hurting anyone? No. Was it impacting on anyone besides yourself? No. So why did idiot teenagers think that they had any sort of say in what you should look like or what shape your body should be?
"Not now, Jason, I've got to go to class." You tried to sweep by them but Jason's hand darted out and caught your wrist, jerking you back to face them harshly. The action of whipping around caused you to drop your books, scattering them all over the floor, "Let me go." You tried to tug your wrist away but his grip was too tight and too strong. You couldn't look up at him, couldn't face his smirk and evil look in his eye; couldn't face the jeers and the comments.
"You gonna cry?" Jason dropped your wrist, "You gonna cry because you saw yourself in the mirror and gave yourself a fright?" Yet another round of laughs and cheers.
Taking a deep breath, you ignored his comment before crouching to pick up your books but Jason wasn't finished tormenting you. Before you could pick up your history books, his foot shot out and kicked it away from you, "Go and get it piggy!" He began to oink loudly before his friends started joining in. Your whole body trembled as you tried so hard to contain your tears. You stayed crouched but unmoving, knowing that he would just kick each book away from you if you tried again, "Well, piggy?! Aren't you going to get your books or are you all tired out?"
Your heart pounded hard in your chest and you thought about just running away, leaving your books and things scattered over the floor. The only reason you didn't move because someone shouted down the hall, "What the fuck, Carver?"
Whilst the attention was off of you, you scuttled backwards like a scared animal, pressed against the lockers as tears dropped down your cheeks. You were surprised to see that it was Eddie Munson, storming down the hallway to your rescue, "It's just a joke, freak, relax!" Jason said patting Eddie's shoulder. Eddie shoved him off of him, "(y/n) knows that," Jason glanced at you, "She was having a good time too."
"Oh yeah?" Eddie asked, lips quirking into a grin, "Know who else was having a good time last night?" Jason frowns at him, "Me and your mom."
Immediately, Jason swung for Eddie hand clenched tightly into a fist. Eddie dodged it, knowing that it was coming, before landing a hard punch into Jason's stomach. Jason doubled over, coughing harshly, as the rest of his friends began to square up to Eddie. Eddie didn't mind them. He grabbed Jason by the collar of his white polo shirt and pulled him up to eye level, "You gonna cry?" Eddie hissed in his face as Jason breathed hard, "You gonna cry because you got beat up by a freak?"
Jason's friends went to advance but Jason shook his head, Eddie clapped him on the chest, "He's alright, fellas!" He grinned, mocking his words from earlier, "It was just a joke, Jason here knows that, don't you Jase? He was having fun, sure ya were?" He clapped him hard on the chest again before shoving him towards his friends.
Jason straightened himself up, fixing his polo shirt as he cleared his throat, "Whatever, freak. Didn't know you were dating the whale."
Fresh tears stung in your eyes but Eddie was prepared. He smiled sardonically, "Oh, I was just waiting for it..." he muttered to himself before going for Jason. They hadn't been expecting him to attack, they never think the 'weirdos' will actually react but here he was, Eddie Munson, proving the jocks wrong one day at a time.
Eddie launched for Jason, grabbing him and harshly throwing him up against the lockers. Now, Eddie wasn't the strongest but he had the element of surprise so Jason was relatively easy to pin against the locker. Eddie was grinning at him, that demented grin where his eyes were wide and he just looked terrifying. Jason squirmed under him.
"You ever," Eddie leaned in close, "come near (y/n) again, I'll break that pretty jaw." He tightened his grip as Jason's cronies tried to pull him off, "And I'll break yo' mama's too."
Jason thrashed but Eddie was cackling in his face. If they didn't think he was a freak before, they certainly would now. Eddie released his grip and allowed Jason's friends to pull him away. Jason shoved his friends away from him, embarrassed and red in the face, before scoffing and turning on his heels. Eddie wasn't finished.
"I know where you live, Carver!" He yelled in a sing-song voice, "Don't make me come there!" He laughed to himself as they rounded the corner, going out of eyesight.
Eddie's grin dropped as quick as he did. He dropped to beside you, eyes boring into yours, "Are you alright?" He asked softly, "They didn't hurt you did they? Physically hurt you, I mean?"
You shook your head, "N-No," you said, voice quiet as you wiped your eyes, "I just need to get my books and then go to class."
The curly haired boy rolled his eyes as he began to collect your various books for you, "You're not going to class, (y/n)."
"Where am I going then?"
He handed you back your bundle of books, "You're coming to hang out with me." He said it so matter of factly that you couldn't help but shrug and accept it. He stood up and stuck out his hand, offering you help up. You accepted it, balancing the various books in your other arm.
"Where are we going?" You asked once you'd put your books back in your locker.
Eddie grinned, "Oh you'll see."
Turns out that Eddie was taking you to the woods. You knew that he hung about here and he dealt from here a lot, "I-I don't want to smoke." He could sense your apprehension, hell, he could see it.
"Don't worry," he said turning his head over his shoulder to look at you, "we're not gonna smoke. Just gonna hang out." He stopped, "I thought you could use some company that wasn't any of the jerks in the school. If I'm wrong and you don't want to hang, I'll walk you out."
You looked at him. There was something there. Something under his surface and you were desperate to know what it was. He seemed so nice? From all that you knew of him, all that you'd seen of him he was weird; outlandish and loud but never really did anything to harm anyone. He mostly kept to himself. You didn't feel threatened by him, you didn't feel like he was going to hurt you in any way so slowly, you shook your head.
"I'd like to hang out."
He knew the woods like the back of his hand, it reassured you that you wouldn't get lost since Eddie would be able to get you out in two minutes. The woods was quiet, only the twitter of birds and the trees shushing in the wind was heard. It was nice; peaceful.
"And here we are," he said, bowing to let you walk ahead.
In the clearing, there was an old wooden bench. You thanked him with a had nod and a smile as you approached the bench and sat down, "Will this thing even hold my weight?"
Eddie rolled his eyes and dramatically waved his hands, "Uh, of course it will!" For proof, he leapt onto the bench, climbing onto the top table and jumping up and down a few times, "See? She's an old girl but perfectly sturdy." He jumped off of the bench smiling.
"You're pretty weird, you know," you said with a giggle as you sat down.
"So I've been told."
You paused before speaking again, "Thank you for sticking up for me." You felt stupid, thanking him for saving you from Jason, "I didn't even know that you knew my name."
Eddie frowned, "Are you serious?" He asked with a laugh, "(y/n), you sit at the desk beside me in two different classes, of course I know who you are!" Fair point.
"I just... We're not friends-"
"We're not?" Eddie gasped as he feigned hurt. He held a hand over his heart, "And here I thought we were best friends!"
You rolled your eyes as you laughed at him, "Shut up. I was saying, we're not friends, we've never spoken-"
"Untrue, you asked me for a pencil like four months ago."
"-so I didn't get why- wait, what? You remember that?"
Eddie smiled, "Course I do. It's not every day the prettiest girl in Hawkins talks to you. I'll remember today as well for the exact same reason."
"The prettiest girl?" You repeated. A bubble of nerves began to form in your stomach as you looked at your hands. He was probably just saying it out of sympathy for you being bullied from Jason. It probably meant nothing, "You don't mean that."
"Course I do. It was English first period on a Tuesday and you were wearing a blue t-shirt and a grey hoodie over it. You asked to borrow a pencil, I gave you it, you thanked me and smiled. Your hair was still wet, you must've washed it before coming to school. You smelled of strawberries and I've never really been a fan of fruity smells but it was the best smell I've ever smelled because... well because it was you."
The admission had you like a fish, mouth opening then closing repeatedly as you tried to figure out what to do or what to say. Did he really just say that? What did it mean? It sounded very much like something you'd say about something you had a crush on but surely not... You weren't worth anything so why would he have a crush on you? Was this another prank?
Your jaw clenched and you scoffed, "Oh I get it," you said bitterly, "Jason's obviously paid you off. Make you my hero, take me somewhere where they're all probably hiding and act like you have a crush on me so that I get my hopes up and make a fool of myself."
You pushed yourself up and out of the bench. Eddie scrambled up, "What are you talking about, (y/n)? Jason didn't pay me- Jason hates me. I- No one is here, it's just us! What are you talking about?!"
"Because obviously no one would ever have a crush on the fat girl! I get it but the joke's over, Eddie." You grabbed your bag and went to storm away when you realised that you had no idea where you were going. With a huff, you picked a direction and started to storm away.
Eddie sighed, "You're going the wrong way."
"I don't care!" You snapped back.
"Jesus H Christ!" Eddie yelled, "Will you shut up and listen to me?!" You blinked, surprised that he was yelling at you; surprised that he cared this much to tell you his side. You took a deep breath and began to walk back to the clearing. Eddie was looking at you with raised eyebrows, "I'd like you to just listen okay?" You nodded curtly.
He ran his hands through his hair, "You think I'd side with Jason Carver? Honestly? I know we don't know each other but oh my god, I'd rather cut off my hair before doing that and I love my hair." You couldn't help but smile a little, "I promise, hand on heart, scout's honour, no one is in this woods except us. Jason's not here, his stupid friends aren't here. Just me and you. Okay?"
You nodded.
"Okay... I know it's kinda stupid since we've never spoken before today but I see you in class. I see everyone else but I see you. I see the way you play with the pen in your hand as you're trying to think of what to write, I see the way you tap your foot as you listen to your Walkman, I see the way you write your name on the front page of every notebook you own and you also write the date you started it on. I notice every single little thing you do. You think I notice anyone else?"
Tears were in your eyes but he wasn't finished yet.
"I know that Jason and his friends torment you, they're dickheads. I saw him and I-I saw you and you just gave up and I couldn't stand there and not to do anything. I would step in every single time. I'd take a punch or two if it meant getting their attention away from you." He breathed deeply through his nose before looking at you. Something shifted in the atmosphere, "You believe what they say about you, don't you? You believe them when they call you names and say horrible fucking stuff about you, don't you?"
You looked down at the forest floor.
Eddie didn't realise that he was going to spill all of this to you today. Hell, he thought he'd never be telling you but things change, don't they?
"(y/n) none of what they say is true. You're not a whale, not a pig, a cow or any other animal they say you are. You're you and that's more than enough. I-I'm not good with words, I don't know if I can make you understand but if you give me a chance, I'll do anything to make you see yourself the way I see you... You gotta believe me."
"How- How do you see me?" Eddie noted that your voice was shaky and small.
"Beautiful," he said and you could tell that he meant it, "Absolutely fucking perfect. I think you look incredible. Other people don't, people just see your body and think that being bigger, being fat is a bad thing but it's not. I think you look smoking hot for what it's worth... Just because you've got more to you it doesn't make you any less deserving of love or affection; it doesn't make you any less attractive or any less beautiful. I think it makes you more beautiful personally... They don't have any say on what you should look like, (y/n), they don't have a say on your body."
You looked at him with a mixture of awe and disbelief, "Do you really believe that?"
"(y/n) I've had a crush on you since day fucking one, baby. I believe that you're the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful person in all of Hawkins. You are worth so much more than you think you are. I know what they say hurts but you gotta believe it's not true, baby. You gotta know that you're so much better and worth so much more than they make you believe. You are so perfect."
He moved closer to you and you again didn't know what to say. You told him as such. He laughed, "To be fair, I did only ask you to listen." He teased.
You took a breath, "I-I can't believe you think that of me. I mean... I feel like I'm nothing, that I'm a waste of space, that my body is so big and ugly and unattractive... Wow."
"You're none of that." His voice was firm and you couldn't help but believe that he was telling you the truth, "You are everything and you don't deserve what they say... It's not their body to comment on or judge, their opinions mean jackshit, (y/n). Let me show you how wrong they are."
"How would you do that?"
Eddie smirked, "Let me take you out tonight. Let me prove to you that there is someone, aka Eddie 'the Freak' Munson, that wants you, wants to spend time with you, get to know you better and wants to kiss the hell outta you. Let me help you realise how much you're worth... What do you say?"
You laughed, "This morning started out with Jason bullying me and you punching him and now you're asking me out so... I say what the hell? Yeah, I'll go out with you tonight."
He grinned, a wide truly happy grin, "Ah what the hell, instead of going tonight why don't we go right now?"
You frowned at him, smiling fading, "But school-"
"School will still be here tomorrow," he said with an eyeroll, "besides we've skipped two periods now and I'm sure Carver and Co have been to the principal so they'll probably be after me and maybe even you. What's the harm in giving them two reasons to give us detention?"
He stuck out his hand, "Ready for your next adventure?"
You didn't take long to think about it. He was right. You'd already be in trouble so what the hell? You took his hand, "Ready." You didn't know what would become of you and Eddie if anything would even come from it. All you knew was that this boy was here with his crazy hair and goofy grin and he was wanting to get to know you. With a smile and a new attitude thanks to Eddie Munson, you left the woods to start the adventure early.

Have a little faith
Here goes my first fic in this new blog, ahhh I’m scared and excited. It would be nice to know what you think and I really hope you like it!☀️
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Prompt: You are on a date with Steve Harrington, but you unexpectedly find yourself stuck in the bathroom with Eddie Munson.
Fluff, mention of drugs.
Tumblr media
Steve was in his element. He was slaying bear pong despite being visibly drunk already and he was telling tales of his misfortunate adventures while working at the Scoops Ahoy. You never had much in common with Steve if not your friendship with Robin. In fact it was her that pushed you two to go on a date, something that the both of you found almost annoying, but pushy as she is, Robin managed to set you up on a date with him.
He was a good guy, you could tell by his eyes when he would talk about Robin, or his friends, or Nancy – which he was still extremely in love with – but you were complete opposites.
The room started to get crowded when Steve won, once again and he was ready to challenge someone else “King of bear pong” he would call himself. You almost fell when someone pushed you to get in front, just to high five Steve and at that point you had enough. You could smell the scent of young youth in the heat of a rebellious moment, which made you sneer. You tried to make your way out of that massive crowd of drunk teenagers, and when you made it you took a deep breath.
Slowly, you started to walk around that massive house, which you didn’t even know who it belonged to. There wasn’t much conversation in the car, as the gentleman that he was, Steve picked you up at yours, blasted some music and drove to the house party. He did however sing here and there, trying to make eye contact with you, but you knew that you would have laughed at his singing if you did look at him. It wasn’t exactly your ideal that I’m doing it for Robin you kept telling yourself. At some point you thought that Robin insisting so much on you and Steve going out, was simply to benefit her… Her dating life wasn’t exactly the best since Steve was always by her side.
You decided to look for a bathroom and you found one, to your surprise. The lights were on, and you locked the door behind you. The white walls in contrast to the yellow walls around the house made your eyes blink for a bit, trying to get used to the new ambience. “He is not even my type, what am I doing here…” you whispered to yourself walking to the mirror, so you could fix yourself.
“Who’s not your type?” you heard behind you, and soon after the curtain around the bathtub were moved to reveal a guy casually laying in the bathtub and looking at you.
You didn’t scream, but you could feel your heart racing against your chest “Jesus…” you whispered.
“No, just Eddie here.”
Eddie Munson, you saw him almost every day at school and you most definitely heard stories about him. “I didn’t know there was someone here already, I’ll go” you quickly said walking towards the door and once you reached to the handle to open the door… stuck. The handle wasn’t moving, you quickly looked at Eddie, your eyes wide open in surprise and almost despair.
“Yeah… about that, it’s broken. You can only open in from the outside” he said while playing with a coin in his hand. He would throw it in the air and catch it in the palm of his hand.
“And why on Earth would you let me close it?!”
“I don’t know, I thought it would be fun to move the party here” he said while looking at you, trying to hold a laugh. He seemed quite calm to be stuck in a bathroom and who knows for how long he had been in there already. You did not see the logic in that and you knew he was being sarcastic, but why wouldn’t you say anything? Regardless, you were not about to fight with the only person who seemed almost happy to entertain a conversation with you. Eddie moved his legs, and pointed at the space in the bath in front of him “Come, let’s wait for the others” he jokingly said. You crawled up inside the bath and held your legs against your chest, looking at him. “So… who’s not even your type?” he asked in a quirky tone, he seemed truly interested in that piece of information.
“Steve Harrington. I’m on a date with him” you said trying to not show your complete disdain about the whole situation.
“And now you are stuck in a bathroom with me, what a interesting twist of events”
You had to laugh at his eccentricity, he was still playing with that coin “What are you doing here? It doesn’t seem like the type of place where you would hang out”
The coin dropped in the bathtub.
An intrigued look was now placed on his face “And what type of place would I usually hang out in?” he asked you. The eye contact was almost intimidating, but he seemed at ease, playing his bottom lip with his fingers.
“I don’t know, somewhere with rock music, a bit dark and mysterious”
“So, by definition, you are calling me dark and mysterious” he said all pleased
You chuckled at his puffed chest. “If that’s what you want to hear, then sure, yeah!”
He laughed as well “Well, you don’t look like the type of person that would be here either” he said to then continue with a smirk “Especially with Steve Harrington”
You were not about to let him know the dynamics behind that so far failed date “Why were you in here anyway?”
Eddie looked at you as if the answer to that question was quite obvious, but he still went to look for something in his pocket and took out a rolled up blunt “In case someone needs my friend Mary”
And so you thought the voices about him being a junkie were true after all, but there looking at him and at his constant smile, you couldn’t help but think that it was genuine and not caused by the effect of some drugs “Any luck in selling tonight?”
“Unfortunately, you are the only person that came in here tonight. I must have chosen the wrong bathroom to set up my business” he said shaking his head, making some of his hair that was previously tucked behind his ears, cover his cheeks. He looked at you as with a sparkle in his eyes and his smile started to show again “Do you smoke?” You didn’t, but you shrugged in response and so he lit up the blunt and passed it to you. Taking the smoke in you felt as if you’re whole chest was on fire, causing you to cough which made Eddie laugh at you, but you didn’t mind it. You were starting to get used to his high-pitched laugh, finding it almost cute “And so you are not that much of a good girl, are you Y/N?”
You raised an eyebrow at his passing him the blunt to him “How do you know my name?” you said still coughing a little.
“Oh, honey. I’d be a fool not to know your name” he said with the blunt between in his lips, you could feel your cheeks turning red at the speed of a racing car and Eddie took notice, feeling proud of himself for causing such a reaction “Should be leave this party now?” he said while getting out of the bathtub.
“We are stuck, remember?” you said quickly getting out of the bathtub as well.
And so you saw him reaching to the window on top of the toilet “Have a little faith” he said looking back at you, he gave you a smile followed by a wink, and then he jumped.
You felt your heart drop again thinking he must have hurt himself or worse, but you sighed when heard him screaming out a rush of adrenaline, and then you jumped as well.

He’s not you | e.m.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x reader
Summary: you broke up with Eddie, but he’s still in love with you. So he confronts you about it and his jealousy of Steve, only to find out that maybe you still want him, after all.
Warnings: fluff, angst (what’s new?), exes to lovers again, jealous!Eddie
Word count: 500
A/N: hi! Some fluff with Eddie for you to have a bright day. Feedback is always appreciated by a writer! Hope y’all like it. Enjoy! x
Tumblr media
“I’m jealous,” that’s the last thing he says. You turn around in order to see his face. He looks pale and older than he is. He’s never been so serious, probably. He clenches his jaw twice, then he looks at the ground. “It’s hard to see you and Steve together. This is the first and last time you’re gonna hear me saying something like that,” he adds. You remain quiet, waiting for him to keep talking. “You moved on, but I’m still here. I feel like a ghost, sometimes. And it’s also terrible, because he’s my friend. But everytime he leans on your shoulder, I would like to punch him in the face”.
“We’re not together, Eddie,” you say, making a step forward.
“Oh, I don’t know, Y/N. You look really close to him,” he says with a sarcastic smile on his face.
“Have you ever wondered why?”
“He’s charming, funny and handsome. I don’t have to wonder why”.
“But he’s not you,” you say and he freezes. “He’s not you,” you repeat. “That’s why I hang out with him. Because if I stay here, in this exact room, my room, I just see you. I see you knocking at my window, I see you sleeping next to me in my bed, I see you playing your guitar, I see you crying about that stupid school, I see you laughing at my silly jokes and everytime I remember your smile, my heart breaks. So no, Eddie, to answer your extremely stupid question you asked me when you came into my house unexpected, I’m not dating Steve. I just need to stop thinking and he helps me not to,” you confess.
Eddie swallows. He had no right to be jealous and he has no right to be here right now, but he has had answers, finally and this alone makes him feel less guilty. Maybe you still have feelings for him and if it is true, he has to fight for this relationship.
“So why did you break up with me?”
“Because it was easier,” you say and it’s like something is crashing your ribs from the inside. “It was easier than admitting that I was in love with you. It was easier than talking to my parents about your reputation. It was easier than hearing my friends saying bad things about you. I was a coward, but I was also tired, Eddie. But I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” you repeat and when you say it, he’s already hugging you.
He's finally holding you tight into his arms and that’s the only thing that matters. He has missed you, the empty spaces to be filled with your body against his one, you smelling of home. It feels like he finally came back from exile.
“I forgive you sweetheart, but please, say it again”.
“What?”
“That you’re in love with me”.
You chuckle.
“I’m in love with you,” you say and he gives you a tiny kiss on your nose, showing you his beautiful and happy smile. “I’m in love with you”.

Nothing ever lasts forever
Eddie Munson x female!reader
Word count: 2.8k
Warnings:major S4, Vol. 2 spoilers, Angst, a lil bit of fluff, character death, blood, demon bats, Canon typical violence
Summary: You couldn't have wished for a better boyfriend than Eddie Munson, but when things get heated with Vecna, you find yourself in a situation you don't know a solution for...
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"I have a bad feeling about this", I mumbled while jamming more nails into the Trash can lid.
"What do you mean?"; Eddie mumbled while contiuing with his own Self-made shield. "I don't know. Something just feels...off",I muttered and got up.
"Where are you going ?", Dustin asked. "Just getting more Nails",I smiled,"I wanna make sure, those fuckers die, when we impale them" Eddie chuckled at my words and I turned around to fetch the nails, but before I could leave, I heard Eddie whisteling:"That's my girl!"
I turned around and smiled at him. I shot Dustin an apolegtic look as I saw him cringe inwardly. I finally made it to the Camper, grabbing some nails out of our Supply bags. I turned around to leave as I bumped into someone's chest. I looked up perplexed and noticed that it was Steve.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry, are you alright?", he asked, immediately apoligized. I only smiled at him:"It's alright"
I tried to push past him, but Steve gabbed my arm, pulling me back. I looked at him and a shiver ran down my spine almost immediately. He had a look of concern on his face, like he was deeply scared to loose someone.
"Can we talk?", Steve whispered. I only nodded and followed him back inside the Camper.
"Is everything alright?", I asked, once we were inside. Steve closed the door behind us and turned around. He sighed deeply and ran his hand through his hair:"It's just...when you go there, into the Upside Down, can you..."
"Can I ?", I asked as he slowly trailed off. Steve looked down for a second, like he was embarressed to answer my Question.
"Can you look out for Dustin and Eddie, please? It's not like I don't trust them, it's just You're usually the one who is more reasonable, you know?"
I chuckled and patted Steve's shoulder:"Of course, I will look out for them" He visibly relaxed at my words and nodded:"Thank you,Y/N" I smiled and pulled him in for a hug:"Always, Stevie"
As we stepped back out of the Camper, i patted his shoulder one more time, before I finally made my way back over to Dustin and Eddie. I was greeted with a sight, I certainly didn't expect. I smiled at the two boys in front of me. Eddie was chasing Dustin around the field, preting to be a D&D character. I watched them mess around and hug each other, before they returned to our place.
"Y\N!!", Eddie shouted, as he finally saw me. He laughed loudly and came running towards me.
"Eddie?!?!?", I yelled, as he wrapped his arms around me, throwing me over his shoulder. I heard him laugh again, as he started to chase around, while Dustin followed the two of us, trying to help me.
After countless times, that Dustin almost caught us, Eddie finally decided to let me down again. I stumbled onto my feet and leaned onto Eddie's shoulder for support until I finally gained my composure again. I smiled up at my boyfriend, who beamed back at me.
"I love you, Eddie Munson", I smiled. I felt how Eddie pulled me closer by my waist. "I love you too", he mumbled before leaning down to kiss me. My hand rose to carress his cheek as I heard him sigh with content.
"Ugh, get a room", I heard Dustin yell disgusted. Eddie and I broke apart and he only stuck his tongue out at him. I chuckled at his childish behavior, before grabbing his hand and pulling him in for another short kiss. I heard Dustin sigh, before I turned towards him, mimicking Eddie's actions. Dustin actually smiled at us now.
"Come here already!", I smiled at him, holding out my hand. Dustin took it perplexed before I pulled him and Eddie into a massive hug. I heard the two boys laugh; before a yelp escaped my lips, as Eddie suddenly tried to lift Dustin and me into the air at the same time. The three of us tumbled over laughing. We landed in the grass, only inches away from our nailed garbage lids. 'Lucky', I thought to myself, but before I could let myself wander off to what was before us, my thoughts were interrupted by Eddie and Dustin, each holding out a hand to me. I smiled and grabbed both of them, letting them pull me up.
"Thank you, Boys", I smiled. Eddie put an arm around me and nuzzled my cheek:"No problem,Darling"
"Come on, Lovebirds", Dustin scolded us,"We need to finish our stuff. Eddie and I nodded and followed him back to our working place.
Tumblr media
I felt myself being overhelmed at what I saw. Eddie Munson himself and his Darling guitar were distracting the bats right now. And he looked dashing. Like the real Rockstar he was. He leaned back conently, enjoying the song he was playing. I mean, what was better to distract crazy demon Bats than Metallica, am I right?
I looked over to Dustin and he was just as starstruck as I was.
"This is so cool", he yelled over the Music and I nodded, not being able to bring myself to interrupt the music through answering him.
Unfortunately, this little moment of happiness didn't last long as our plan worked perfectly. I gulped as I saw thousands and thousands of Demon bat's flying towards us.
"Eddie!?", I yelled and climbed onto the van, "Eddie, we need to go!"
He continued playing for a second, only to finish his song, before he turned around. A smile on is face, he grabbed my hand and followed me down.
Eddie kept holding onto my hand, as we sprinted back to his trailer together with Dustin. We made it just in time, as Eddie slammed shut the door of the cage we had built. I allowed myself to inspect the Bat's for a second, before I was pulled inside by Dustin and Eddie.
The three of us took a moment to breath, before I saw a smile creeping up on Dustin's face. He looked over to Eddie and started laughing.
"Dude", he laughed and grasped his shoulders, "Most METAL EVER!!"
The two of them started jumping up and down with glee and I couldn't help but giggle at them, until Eddie grabbed my arm and pulled me into him.
"You were amazing!", I laughed and jumped up and down with them. Eddie chuckled and softly kissed my forehead:"Thanks sweetheart"
"Let's go kick their asses", Dustin smiled at us.
Tumblr media
Well, I wish that would've been what we did. But we didn't. And now I had to watch how Eddie purposely cut the bedsheet that connected our world with Upside Down.
"Eddie!?!? Eddie, what are you doing!?!?", I yelled and tried to climb back inside, but Dustin took my arm, preventing me from hurting myself.
"Don't worry, Darling", Eddie smiled grabbing one of the spears. He looked back up to us.
"I love you, no matter what", he mumbled and I felt how tears started to run down my face:"Please Eddie, Pleae don't leave me"
"I'm not running away this time", He said sternly and shot me one last smile, before leaving the trailer.
"Eddie!?!?" I yelled. But he was long gone.
"Shit shit Shit!!!", I heard Dustin curse behind me,"Hurry, we need a chair or something like that"
I swiftly looked around and soon found what I was looking for. Right next to the kitchen table was a small stool. I hurried over and grabbed it, placing it right under the hole in the ceiling.
"Alright", Dustin mumbled and stepped in front of me, "I'll go first"
"That is out of the question", I said sternly and grabbed his arm,"I'm going first"
"Y/N", Dustin said, a serious expression on his face.
"Listen to me", He said, "If I go in there first and something happens to me, it's not so bad because you Can still make it to Eddie. But if you go first and you get hurt, you can't. And if he needs someone right now, it's you. So it's vital, that you make it to him"
As much as I hated it, Dustin was right. I thought about it for a second, before deciding to agree with him.
"Fine, but if something happens, you explain it to Steve", I muttered.
Dustin nodded and I watched him get in position, before he started sprinting towards the stool. He jumped onto it and then grabbed the edge of the hole. I saw him struggle and immediately ran over to help him. I grabbed his legs and tried pushing him into the gate.
"Almost", Dustin yelled but suddenly his legs slipped from my arms and he fell into the Upside Down. I heard him scream.
"Dustin!?! Dustin, are you alright!?!?", I looked up into the gate and saw him laying on the floor, grasping his foot.
"My ankle", he groaned.
"Shit", I mumbled, "I'm coming now!!"
I saw how he inched away a bit before I walked back a little, to take a start. I breathed in deeply, before I sprinted towards the stool. I jumped on it and then right into the gate. I tried to grab the edge, but missed and turned around about 180 degrees.
Like by magic, I Managed to land on my feet, but as I rose to stand up, I immediately tumbled back to the floor. The full real world-Upside Down backflip left my brain spinning around for a few seconds.
As I could see straight again, I crawled over to Dustin:"Are you alright!?"
I carefully eyed his ankle. It had swollen pretty hard.
"I can handle it", he pressed, "Go and get Eddie"
Right in that Moment, I heard thunder errupt above us. I nodded and grabbed one of our self made shields and the one remaining spear. I looked back at Dustin for one last time. He only nodded at me and I Stormed outside, on the look for Eddie.
I opened the door of the cage around the trailer and trailed outside. I looked around in search for Eddie. After a few seconds I finally found him and I swear to God, my heart stopped beating for a second.
I spotted Eddie laying on the ground, two bat's gnawing onto his sides. And another one had its tail slung around Eddie's neck.
"Shit", I mumbled as I stormed towards him.
I yelled as loud as I could and started banging my Speer of the the trash can lid, to attract the bat's attention. It somehow worked, since a few of them came flying towards me but the others stayed glued to Eddie.
I gulped as the first bat collided with my shield. It squealed loudly before falling to the ground, dead. I continued running towards Eddie, occasionally slicing through a bat with my spear, until I finally reached him. I was about to kneel down as all of the remaining Bats around us started to fall to the ground, presumably dead. The ones who held Eddie in a tight grip, also let go of him and he seemed to be able to finally take a deep breath in again.
I ran towards him, kneeling down and pulling his head onto my lap.
"Oh my God, Eddie", I mumbled as I saw him spitting blood. I carefully pressed my hands over his wounds, trying to stop the bleeding. Eddie grunted in agony.
"Bad, huh?", he mumbled, looking into the distance.
"No no.You're gonna be fine", I answered, tears already threatened to spill, "Just gotta get you to a hospital, okay?"
"Okay", he whispered.
"All right. All right", I mumbled while pulling his upper body up with me.
"I think...", he started but I interrupted him.
"Come one", I cried, not being able to hold back my tears now.
"I think I just... I think I just need a second, okay?", he asked quietly.
I nodded:"Okay"
I looked down at him, as he seemed to choke on his own blood. But he seemed to notice my stare and a shit eating grin started to appear on his face.
"I didn't run away this time, right?", he asked trembling.
I couldn't help the sob that escaped my lips, as I grasped his cheek:"No... No no no. You didn't run."
"Youre gonna have to look after those little sheep for me, okay?", he mumbled.
"No!", I yelled, grasping his cheek even tighter, "You're gonna do that yourself!"
"No, Sweetheart", Eddie smiled,"Say 'I'm gonna look after them'"
"Say it", Eddie scolded me.
"I'm...",I stuttered, "I'm gonna look after..."
"Good", Eddie muttered. He slowly put his hand on top of mine, his eyes closing for a seconds, simply enjoying my touch.
"Cause I'm actually gonna graduate", He continued, chuckling weakly,"I think it's my year, Y/N"
I nodded at his words and tried to keep my composure, motioning for him to continue.
"I think, its finally my year", he struggled.
"I love you, Y/N", he mumbled. I closed my eyes for a second, the whole situation becoming too overwhelming. My tears were sprinkling down onto Eddie's clothes, as I felt his hand gently caressing my cheek.
"I love you too", I mumbled, putting my hand on top of his.
I looked down at him, a single tear falling from his eye, as his hand slowly slipped past mine and fell to the ground.
"Eddie", I mumbled again, as I saw him physically struggle. I heard him choke one last time, before his breathing seemed to stop.
"Eddie?", I asked again. But his eyes had stop moving, they were staring down at the ground. His limbs were loose and his heart had stopped beating, I felt it as I put my hand on his chest.
"Eddie", I said again, not ready to comprehend what had just happened. It couldn't be true, it just couldn't.
"Come one!", I Muttered and shook him by his shoulders but it was no help.
"Eddie!!", I wailed, but he still didn't move, and he would never move again. I could yell his name as often as I wanted but he would never move again.
"Eddie, please please please...",I continued mumbling incoherent sentences, as my head fell down onto his chest. His lifeless body still in my arms. It couldn't be true, it just couldn't. I couldn't lose him. How could I ever? What did he do to deserve this? He gave his life to protect the people of a town who all accused him of murder.
"Eddie", I mumbled on last time and looked up, his eyes still weren't moving, so shakily raised my hand and carefully closed his eyes.
"Y/N", I heard my name. It was Dustin. He finally came limbing towards us... Me.
"Dustin", I trembled.
He saw Eddie on the ground and immediately, tears started to fall down his face, as he fell to his knees.
"Eddie", He mumbled.
"He's gone", I said bitterly, wiping my nose, "He's gone"
Dustin nodded, not being able to form any coherent sentences.
"We need to go", he finally mumbled.
"D-Dustin, I can't-" I stuttered again, fresh tears falling down my face, as I grasped Eddie's hand again. It was cold now and lifeless.
"No", I said sternly,"No, I cannot leave him here. I can't-"
"Y/N", Dustin shouted and broke me out of my trance,"We need to leave"
"Y/N", I felt how Dustin softly took my hand out of his, "We need to go"
I only nodded, letting him pull me up and away from Eddie. On the entire way back to the portal, I looked back to Eddie. I wanted to take him with me. Give him a real funeral, show the world that he was a hero, who died for his city.
But I know I couldn't. Also did I know that I could never tell anyone, ever.
I helped Dustin back through the gate, since he couldn't really walk with his sprained ankle, before climbing back myself.
"We need to find the others", Dustin whispered. I only nodded, wiping away my tears, but it was no use. Fresh tears started to appear again.
It was now, that I finally realized...
Eddie Munson was dead, and he would stay dead no matter what I did.

part 1 // part 3 also on ao3
It seems to happen overnight.
King Steve and the Freak.
The students at school see them in the hallways, standing together and laughing, looking at each other with the stars in their eyes, and it doesn’t make any real sense. Steve with his pressed polos, tucked into his jeans, Eddie with his frizzy, overgrown curls and his metal chains and rings.
They talk. Exchange greetings in the hallways. And nobody knows when or how it happened.
They might be friends, but nobody says it. Like it might be a curse, a jinx. Like saying it out loud will change something that’s gone unspoken.
Steve snaps at Tommy Hagan when he refers to Eddie as a fucking freak. Eddie isn’t even around to hear it, but Steve looks angry in a way no one’s seen before, his cheeks red as he says, “I don’t give a fuck what you think he looks like, don’t fucking talk about him like that.” And it’s jarring, especially as Tommy H and Steve have been known best friends since sixth grade, and maybe because it’s so jarring, it works. Tommy H never talks badly about Eddie again (in front of Steve).
People see them talking in the parking lot before and after school, laughing and bantering before they part ways to go with their separate friend groups, all of whom stare and watch in confusion. None of them question it though, not when they just stare in response to the curious looks. The stares are almost scary, intense and daring. Firm What?s that deter anyone that wants to say something.
People see them at parties, disappearing behind doors to make deals, sitting in the kitchen and serving each other drinks before they go their separate ways.
Word spreads about them skipping detention together. Someone saw them leaning close together and writing on a piece of paper, laughing into their arms to keep quiet until Eddie noticed that the teacher had fallen asleep. Eddie had barely even hesitated before he got up to leave even though there was a little less than an hour left, and then he’d paused in the doorway, turning back to give Steve a look before Steve followed. And then people are concerned, because Eddie Munson is anything but a good influence.
But when Carol Perkins tries to talk to Steve about it, nothing hostile or anything, just a gentle question about if being friends with Munson is a good idea, Steve shuts her down with the same look he’s been giving everyone. But Carol is Carol, and she persists. She only stops when Steve says firmly, “You don’t know him, Carol. Just drop it.”
“I’m just saying, Steve, he is not a good influence—”
“And you guys are?”
And he’s met with a moment of silence as Tommy and Carol stare at him.
“Tommy gets through half his classes by paying other kids off for their homework and you’ve picked like three fights in the past week, Carol, don’t act like you’re some angel. Eddie’s just…” He shrugs, glancing away, across the cafeteria where Eddie is sitting with his legs up on the table even though he’s been scolded for it several times. “Eccentric. He’s harmless.”
“He’s a Satanist,” Tommy insists.
“I don’t think you know what Satanism is, Tommy.”
“I know what Satanism is—”
“Pass your history class by yourself and maybe I’ll give your word more credit, how ‘bout that?”
“Alright, asshole.”
Eddie graduates, and no one seems to see it coming except Steve, who goes to the ceremony. No one really questions it; underclassmen and juniors often go to graduations to support their friends, and Steve knows a few seniors this year. But then Steve is cheering louder than anyone when Edward Munson is called, and Eddie is beaming brighter than anyone’s ever seen, and as he crosses the stage he squints out into the crowd, smiling and smiling and smiling, and he waves. And it’s the most well-behaved he’s ever been, even as he begrudgingly shakes Principal Higgins’s hand and takes the diploma.
People stop talking about Steve and Eddie.
They still talk about Steve, of course, always the King. His parties, his hair. The shallow things. He doesn’t hang out as much with Tommy H and Carol anymore, but no one really knows why. Most people just assume Steve finally realized how shitty they are. And maybe he has.
Eddie doesn’t come up much anymore unless people are talking about where to get the best weed. People go to the mechanic that’s just outside town just to see him, to make deals while he’s on his lunch break or after he gets off work. (Which is funny just by itself: Eddie Munson with a job. Who would have thought?) But his reputation at school fades into someone that used to make shitty, loud jokes and talk shit about the popular crowd.
Until he shows up at Steve’s graduation. No one in Steve’s graduating class notices him until the end of the ceremony, when everyone is outside the theater the ceremony took place in, as everyone is taking pictures and laughing and smiling and celebrating, and Steve is just… waiting. He’s not talking to anyone, or taking pictures with anyone, and he and Tommy H seem to just ignore each other completely, but he doesn’t seem to be sulking or lonely. He’s leaning against the wall, holding his cap in his hands, eyes scanning the parking lot. Until a white van pulls up, a little close to the grass lawn outside the theater, and Eddie Munson steps out, his hair too long and loose and curly. He’s grinning as he looks around at everyone until his eyes catch on Steve, who’s beaming now.
And he’s running at him, and Eddie catches him in his arms, hugging him tightly as he spins him around, Steve’s graduation gown billowing in the air. Now people are looking, watching, seeing, some of the curious, some of them aghast, murmuring amongst themselves.
Is that… Eddie Munson?
Hugging Steve Harrington?
Are they friends?
Neither of them seems to notice everyone looking, laughing as they hug each other tightly, and when they part, Steve is beaming brightly at Eddie as Eddie touches his face, saying something quietly that no one can hear.
Steve nods excitedly, and Eddie takes his cap, bopping him on the head with it before they go to Eddie’s van. Steve strips the gown off, bunching it up in his hands and tossing it into the back as he climbs into the passenger seat. Eddie climbs into the driver’s seat and smacks Steve in the face with the cap, and Steve just laughs, glaring at him, snatching the cap and hitting him back before he tosses it in the back without looking. And they drive off.
Some people laugh because it’s so absurd. King Steve and the Freak. Most others just move on, too focussed on celebrating to care much.
That’s the last time anyone sees them or hears from them.
The Harringtons come back to Hawkins a few weeks later, and soon after, word spreads that Steve just left. Left Hawkins, left his parents, left his childhood home. He didn’t tell them where he went, just that he was safe. Not to worry. That he’ll be fine. He’ll be happy.
And slowly, across town, realization strikes each individual person that witnessed it happen: Steve and Eddie running away together. It explains the van, it explains the hug, the joy, the giddy excitement. And people talk about it.
King Steve and the Freak.
They ran away together.
And then
They skipped town.
They took off.
And then
They escaped.
Then the rumors aren’t as fun anymore. It’s not a fun bit of gossip or something to speculate about, but something to think about, to daydream about. What it would be like to leave Hawkins, to have no obligation to come back. That doesn’t happen in towns like this. People don’t just leave. People go to college. People come back. People get married to their high school sweetheart, and people have two and a half kids, and people get a dog or maybe a cat, and people stay here. That's what happens.
But Steve and Eddie left. That apparently wasn't the life for them. And it makes people wonder if it's the life for any of them. Some of them stay awake at night, looking up at their ceiling in the dark and wondering what's outside of Hawkins. What's in the big cities, what's in the seas. What isn't in the movies. Some of them look at the sky at night. Here in Hawkins, in the middle of nowhere, Indiana, every star glows brightly, like the universe is making up for the city lights they've never seen.
Some people are angry about it. How dare they leave? How dare they act like they’re better than Hawkins? Like this town isn’t enough for them?
Some don’t care. Hawkins is all they know. There’s no point in thinking about anything else, about dreaming about “escaping.”
And of course there are more rumors that spread alongside the runaway rumors. Why did they go together? Why did they hug like that? Why did Eddie touch his face like that? What are they doing?
And even as they all skirt around it, as they avoid certain words, because they would never want to taint the image of the King, they all know it.
They didn’t just run away together. They ran away together.
It angers some people even more. People who can’t think outside the limits of their own front lawn.
The rumors spread throughout town, just escaping the ears of Mr and Mrs Harrington (because nobody wants to anger them), through the high school to the middle school. King Steve and the Freak. They left together. And the rumors shift, mold like clay, altered by every mouth that touches them. They were holding hands. Eddie was touching his leg when they drove off. Steve kissed his cheek.
And the rumors find the ears of a young boy. A boy that sits alone in classes that his friends don’t share with him, fiddling with a pair of dice under his desk, hiding them so they don’t get confiscated, drawing in a notebook. A boy that tilts his head when he hears another boy’s voice say the words.
My brother said they ran away together.
Like… together, together?
I mean, he implied it. He said someone saw them holding hands.
What the fuck?
Followed by stifled laughter, because of course it’s the most absurd thing they’ve ever heard. But this boy, sitting in the back of the classroom, wearing his brother’s handed-down flannel and sketching his best friend’s eyes, looks out the window. At the sky.
The classroom he’s in is on the top floor of the main building, and he can see almost half of town from where he sits by the window. Just past town, there’s a road leading off into the world, and he wonders if that’s the road they took when they left. He wonders if the sun was setting when they left, if they followed it into the sky. He wonders if they held hands as they passed the LEAVING HAWKINS COME AGAIN SOON sign, if they kissed across the center console of the car. He wonders a lot of things.
He wonders if he could do it. Someday.
If he might leave the day he graduates, if he might get away from the children that call him fairy and fag, if he might escape the claustrophobic walls of the town, the square lawns and bullet-riddled tin cans, the brown and beige and grey. If he might get away from their voices. If he might escape too.
He sighs, listening to the boys’ laughter again. The sky is blue in between the grey clouds that are threatening rain over town. He follows the road with his eyes, follows it out of town, out of sight.
And he looks down at his desk, lifting a hand, and rolling the dice.

damaged goods {e.m}
Tumblr media
plot: you and eddie have been seeing each other for a while but just as things are getting good, he self destructs and pulls away.
character: eddie munson x reader
Tumblr media
As soon as you see his black van parked at the school, you're determined to hunt him down. He's clearly been avoiding you for the last two weeks and you want to know why. Was he not interested in you anymore? Did he want things to end? Was he going through something? You didn't know but you needed to; you couldn't just have nothing from him so you were going to do whatever it took, whether it meant missing classes or even skipping school completely, you'd do whatever it took to get to the bottom of this.
Things between you and Eddie had just been getting good, you were getting to the stage where you were hoping that he'd ask you to be his girlfriend and then he just... left. Whatever the reason, you needed to know. You liked Eddie, god you really liked him and that's why you were pissed. You wanted this so bad, you wanted him so bad and maybe he didn't want you and honestly, it hurt a lot more than you'd care to admit.
You didn't know where he'd be so you found someone who would. It didn't take long to find the rest of the Hellfire Club, they were tucked away inside their dedicated room ranting about the new campaign that they were starting. When you barged in, they immediately shut up.
"Where is he?"
They glanced around at each other, stammering and red in the face.
Rolling your eyes, you put your hand on Dustin's shoulder, "Dustin," your voice turned from hard to sticky sweet, "Can you tell me where he is?" Poor Henderson. He was clearly under instruction to not let you know his location but as soon as you fluttered your lashes he spluttered out that Eddie was in Mr Muchnik's class prepping for a test that he'd previously failed. You patted Dustin on the shoulder, "Thanks, kid," as Mike Wheeler hissed 'dude he's gonna kill you'.
On the walk to Muchnik's all you could think was that you hoped he didn't have a class first thing because you wanted this all sorted with Eddie, you didn't want to have a bunch of kids walk in on your - what you presumed would be - heated discussion.
When you walked in, Eddie was hunched over the table, scribbling things down, "Henderson, I told you not to bother me-"
"Munson!" The roar of your voice startles Eddie, making him jump and cower like a dog who's being scolded for chewing on the couch cushions.
Quickly, he jumps up, "I-I gotta go, sorry, really gotta run!" He excuses himself and tries to scuttle away.
"And you're just abandoning all your work, huh?" You ask, arms crossed over your chest. Eddie looks back to the mess he's left on the desk, the important mess on the desk, "You won't mind if I just tear it all up, would you?" Eddie's eyes narrow as he weighs up the situation in his mind. Would he really let you destroy his hard work just for the purpose of avoiding talking to you for even longer? Seriously?! "I just had to flirt with a goddamn twelve year old so you're going to fucking speak to me, Eds!" You hiss, annoyed and still slightly mortified with flirting with Dustin.
Eddie almost laughed, he would've had the tension not been too much, "Fuckin' Henderson man..." He mutters under his breath before realising that right now is not the time for jokes. He relents with a heavy sigh, "Okay, let's talk."
You're standing, arms crossing frowning at him. He's looking at you as though you're the one who needs to do some explaining and your patience wears thin, "Well?" It's harsher than you really intend it to be but Eddie doesn't flinch, instead he shrugs one shoulder, scratching the back of his head.
"I don't really know what to tell you."
You're fucking pissed and he knows it. It takes every ounce of self control to not rip him to shreds, "Start with why you've been avoiding me." Your voice is sticky sweet but with an edge; a knife dipped in honey.
His composure changes from that of being skittish to being... indifferent? "I'm damaged goods, sweetheart," he says, hands spread out in a 'what you gonna do about it' gesture, "what more can I say?"
"The fuck are you talking about?" You're angry, he sees it burning in your eyes and he doesn't blame you. He'd be angry too if you'd avoided him for two weeks with no sort of rhyme or reason. It's like he doesn't care, like it's fun to mess you about but the real reason is that he does care; so much, maybe even too much, "What does that mean?"
"Damaged goods," he repeats, voice more serious this time, "I'm broken, fucked in the head, a mess... Any of them work better for you?" He sounds bitter, annoyed at himself almost.
You roll your eyes, "I know what it means, Munson, I just want to know why that's reason enough for you to avoid me for two weeks when things were just getting good."
It's Eddie's turn to be confused, "Because I'm a mess. Why would you care about me? I'm not worth it so I decided for you."
You roll your eyes, "How about you let me decide what I can and can't handle? Eds..." At the sound of your nickname for him, his face softens and he suddenly can't look directly at you anymore. Shame burns in his stomach. Could you really care about him? Has his insecurities caused him to push you away? Your demeanour changes and all of your anger vanishes. You're not angry. Your heart aches for him in this moment. You reach out for him, he doesn't react, "I thought things were going really well, I stupidly thought that you were..." You trail off, shaking your head with a bitter laugh.
"That I was what?" Eddie presses quietly.
"That you were gonna make it official soon," you say with a shrug, "I don't care if you're broken or if you're a mess - have you met anyone who's not a bit of a mess or a little fucked?! I have issues too, Eds, I struggle as well. You just have to trust that I care about you because..." he finally raises his head to look at you, "I do. I do care about you."
He laughs humourlessly, "Why? Why do you even care about me? I'm a freak, no money, no friends, nothing."
"Because you're you, Eddie. You're funny, always making me laugh even when I'm mad or upset. You're so sweet. When we started this thing I didn't really see you as a sweet or caring guy but my god you are. You came and picked me up at 3am from Olivia's party, drunk as a skunk and then I puked in your van and you didn't care. You still called me pretty and helped me get home safe, didn't complain about the state of your van or anything. Spending time with you is so fun. Before we started hanging out, I don't remember when I'd had this much fun. Eds, you mean so much to me and I don't get why you don't see how fast and hard I'm falling for you!" The last part was a secret that you'd meant to kept locked up and as soon as you say it, you take a sharp intake of breath, "I-I- fuck."
Eddie smiles, a real smile that reaches his eyes and crinkles the corners, "You mean all of that?" He steps towards you.
Your cheeks burn hot, "Yeah, I do."
"All of it? You accept me for my flaws and all?"
Again, you agree.
"You promise?" He asks, "I'm giving you an out right now. If you're not sure, if you don't think this is a long term thing... get out while you still can because I want you and once I have you," he's standing right in front of you, chests centimetres from touching, "I'm never gonna let you go." His breath fans over your face and you find yourself closing the gap between the two of you.
"I'm all in," you whisper, eyes boring into his.
He grins but you barely get a chance to see it before his lips are on yours, warm and fast. It's not a long kiss, no those tend to happen in the back of his van, but it's enough for now.
He pulls back, pressing your foreheads together, murmuring an apology to you, "I'm sorry," he starts, "I- I got kinda in my head. Couldn't understand why someone like you would date someone like me." Instead of replying, you kiss him again. He tastes familiar - cigarettes and coffee.
"Oh," he says, pulling back, "we're totally in a relationship now by the way if you didn't know." He speaks quick before kissing you again. Your hands tangle in his hair as he backs you against the wall. You missed him; you missed this. You just hoped that you'd be able to prove to him that no matter what he was - damaged goods or not - then you'd be here to help repair the pieces.

Random thought that just hit me like a freighttrain :
Captain america Steve x Winter soldier Eddie
Like imagine with me for a moment. Right after a very intense one on one fight on the highway with a masked man who is only known as the Winter Soldier. The mask falls, the winter soldier looks up, and time seems to slow down, because no it can't be...
Steve: *shocked* Eddie!?
Eddie: Who the hell is Eddie?
Just imagine the Angst with a capital A of this AU 😭
Anyway guess it's time to rewatch CA:TWS for the millionth time ✌️

Summary:
With Vecna finally out of the picture, things had been... nearly perfect.
And turns out, Steve was right, sue them. The change of plan was a good idea. Thanks to Dustin's and Eddie's help, Lucas saved the walkman and they rescued Max in time. Who knows what would have happened to Red otherwise… Best not to think too long about it really. He had seen what happened to Chrissy… She was still in the hospital now. Coma… But, apparently, it could have been a lot worse. Now at least she might recover.
The California gang was still on their way back, but they would be here soon. It would all be fixed soon.
He could fix it.
He...
...?
Everything was perfect.

This is the first time I’m hearing about this??? Wow. Can I just say that I feel incredibly bad for Joe (Quinn) bc of the way he is being treated in Italy (or was treated... idk how long ago this was). Trust me, I adore him as much as the next fan, but this is outright insanity. And I’m not going to say I am ashamed to be a fan of his because a real, actual and considerate fan would not do this. These people that are stalking Joe, sneaking pictures of him, and borderline trapping him in his hotel room is not being a fan at all. Call it what it is--it is crazed tweens and early teens becoming so obsessed to the point that they commit such awful acts against this man that does not, in any way, deserve any of this. My heart goes out to him and his family and I hope he is doing well in all this. Definitely wouldn’t blame him if he took a break, even after he just reached the spotlight.
Thank you for coming to my super angry TED Talk :D
