It’s roughly 15 months from Election Day 2022. It’s not too early to make people aware of the importance of voting in a midterm election.
Trump isn’t going away. And his minions like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott are actively trying to sabotage the fight against COVID-19 to curry favor with his anti-science followers.
Democracy is never “one and done”. It requires booster shots every two years. Just because Trump lost in 2020 doesn’t mean we’ll be safe from bad guys forever and ever.
If you have any video or graphic skills and are committed to democracy, consider making a public service message to encourage pro-democracy people to register and vote in 2022.
Last year 14 communication design juniors at Carnegie Mellon University School of Design each created a public service message in connection with StudentVote.org to encourage people to vote in the 2020 election. This vid shows the results of their work.

Midterms are a harder sell though they’re just as important as presidential elections.
It was in the 2018 midterms that Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives despite GOP gerrymandering. Imagine what the electoral vote counting in January would have been like if the smarmy Kevin McCarthy had been House Speaker. 😳

Introduction
Hello, my name is MaKenzie Sebastian and I am a fourth year student at Central Michigan University. I am currently working towards my Bachelors degree in Business Communications. I am still unsure of what exactly my future plans are, but I hope to work somewhere in the project management field. With this blog I hope to further my communication skills by expressing my thoughts in a scholarly outlet; in addition to connecting with my fellow classmates through a new medium.
A company I believe has a great use of their social platform is “Netflix”. The company knows its audience, and makes sure to target its campaigns to the people they know will receive it the best(Millenials and GenZ). This explains their frequent memes and niche tweets on their twitter account. These tweets are meant for a group of individuals who enjoy the content then share it among their mutuals, thus providing free advertisement for Netflix as it is continually spread across the internet. This online presence also reaches broad audiences to get them hyped over new movies and shows coming out soon, offering a refreshing form of media to create buzz for upcoming projects.
