Blog Post 1
My name is Daniel Carnaghi and I am currently attending Central Michigan University pursuing a degree in Business Administration. I am from Sterling Heights Michigan and graduated from Cousino High School. My hobbies consist of beer league softball, hunting, fishing and golf. I currently work at ITT Inc. as a Sales Intern and plan on getting hired full time once I graduate. One career goal that I have is to be making over $100k per year by the age of 28. A long term career goal I have is to become the general manager of a company at some point in my career. I think my drive and leadership skills will lead me in the right directions. What I hope to accomplish in my blog is to engage with my classmates and put my skills on display. A company that I think has great social media management is Coca-Cola. Their products are know by consumers all around the world. The company has been around for a long time but uses it social media to stay relevant.

BIS315 - Week 3 Post
After reviewing the materials for this week, my opinions on data collection remain largely unchanged, though I can see why many corporations are pushing for it.
After watching the Lecture video, It helped me understand what data collecting programs are after. Some things make sense, like recent purchases and views to send more personalized advertisements. However, some data collection services double down and collect as much as they can to sell to business later. For example, it would be strange for a website that doesn't sell computer parts to want to know my device specs. On the other hand, I'm far more accepting of a game service such as Steam or Microsoft to ask for that information, especially if sending a report after an app/software crashed.
I'm not opposed to data collection, unless it's done in an underhand or secretive way. Companies can make well-informed decision off of data from it's clients, but should be upfront and honest with their data collection. Things like terms of service should outline the reason why someone/something is requesting the data, and what it intends on doing with it. Additionally, selling data feels very wrong but I can't quite make an argument against it other than I don't like the concept. Data collection should be more like a survey rather than a secret investigation.

Hey everyone!
My name is Charlie. I’m currently an accounting major and entrepreneurship minor at Central Michigan University. I plan on graduating in the spring of 2024 and obtaining my CPA afterwards. I’m currently an accounts receivable intern for a growing company, Conlan Tire. So far, I’ve found the experience to be very useful for my future.
A little bit more about me, I’m the middle child of 3. I have an older brother, Ben, who is an operating partner of a Detroit Wing Company in Traverse City. I have a younger brother, Colin, who is a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I very much enjoy spending time with them and am proud of what they’ve accomplished in life.
I’m very into golf and fishing. In my free time over the summer, I enjoy doing these things with my friends. I find these activities, along with other activities, a great break from school and work. Both can be challenging and require some patience.
In BIS315, I hope that I’ll learn more on how to optimize social media. Social media has had a growing presence in our world and learning how to use it in your favor can be a big help in your future.
If you like golf like I do, then you should check out Golf Digests Twitter account. Golf Digest is a magazine that covers every angle of golf. They provide a deeper insight of golfers and their ups and downs. I think it’s really cool and interesting to see the mindset of golfers during tournaments. Everyone who plays knows that golf can be a great mental challenge, and hearing from the pros themselves shows how they are just like any common man. Golf Digest also posts tips that the pros share which can help improve your game. Golf Digest tweets many times a day and stays keeps a strong presence on other social media platforms. The material posted can easily attract any golfers eye. If you want to check them out, click on the link below!

Introduction - Jeff Hulswit
Hello all in BIS315. My name is Jeff Hulswit and I am excited to learn more about social media in business. I recently returned to school at 35 after learning about a tuition reimbursement program from my employer that would allow me to graduate with little to no debt. I had a couple career opportunities that I was passed up for, and received the feedback that not having the degree was a deciding factor. Having that information was the final piece that propelled me on this journey.
I am 35 years old and live in the metro Detroit area with my wife and 2 year old daughter Ellie. The last 7 years I have been in sales, servicing large commercial food and beverage manufactures - primarily in Ohio. Think Campbell's Soup, Kraft Heinz, Pillsbury etc... I really enjoy my job - and if your reading this and think you may be fit for a career in sales, please reach out. I am always interested in mentoring. I hope to use this blog as a hub for educating my customers in both social media techniques and market related technology that may solve problems. I'd like this blog to be considered a hub people can visit to solve issues.
I recently made a purchase based off social media presence. https://pitbarrelcooker.com/ is a type a smoker for cooking I recently purchased. Its online video tutorials within there website are awesome. Within there website I believe they use persistence very well. It is continually updated with participant anecdotes of successful recipes and cooks. They also have a a great facebook presence that drives the principals of participation and collective. If I have a certain question about a recipe, or cook - I can post there and within minutes have several high quality responses. It is quite remarkable! And the food is delicious.
Thanks for reading and look forward to interacting with you all.
Jeff

Individual Tech Presentation
In my BIS315 class we were assigned to present a piece of technology that you use that others may not know about. Although my piece of technology may not be used by many in my class, i thought it be great to present since it's so helpful for hockey players like me. I chose a machine called the Sparx machine. This piece of technology is a skate sharpening device that can be transported and used anywhere. It is great for hockey players because not everyone has access to getting their skate sharpened at any time. Also, this machine can be used in Lockeroom's before and during games if your skates every become dull or lose an edge. It truly is a game saver for hockey players and i think it's a great and unique piece of technology.

Introduction into BIS315 CMU
William Henderson
BIS315
6/24/22
Hi my name is William Henderson, I am a senior at central michigan university. Majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in management. I am originally from Chicago IL, but I have been moving around. Due to me traveling and because I enjoy new scenery. A fun fact about me is that I have changed my major 3 times. I actually started college majoring in interior design. Soon changing to finance and then personal finance. Finally I decided that I was not an office boy, that I would rather be my own boss. Which led me to choosing entrepreneurship, I know you're probably thinking I did a complete change. Going from wanting to design houses to business was a big leap for me. Within my new found passion in business, my goals are to own multiple businesses. In order to live a carefree life I envision. There's nothing wrong with the 9-5 but I know it is not for me. Someones end goal should not have to be to slave at someoone elses company. I am already in the process of launching my business and the others soon to come. I want to show other individuals that anyone can truly accomplish their goals. Rather you have a team supporting you or not.
A company or should I say a person that uses social media to her advantage. Is the tarot reader Vanessa Somuayina. Her Instagram is vanessa_somuayina, I love how she uses her IG page and YouTube. To spread real positivity and advice on all subjects on her pages. She keeps you updated on all of her content daily, and allows you to DM her questions. While also effectively marketing her self made trait card decks.

Introductory
Hi everyone, I'm Kaitlyn Bailley a current sophomore at Central Michigan Univerity (CMU). I am majoring in International Business with minors in Spanish and Information Systems. I am a part of several clubs on campus like the Student Government Association, Alpha Kappa Psi a professional business fraternity, and Central Paws a volunteer organization. One of my goals in life is to study abroad which I am able to do next spring. I will be going to Barcelona, Spain, and learning at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Some of my other career goals include being able to work in different countries and travel being a part of my job. Through this blog I hope to keep myself accountable and internaize information that will be taught in this BIS315 course.
One company that I think has a great social media presence is Amazon (https://www.amazon.com). While scrolling through Instagram, Snapchat, and Tiktok on the daily, I see at least 10 advertisements for the company. They show good emergence and interest cultivation. These advertisements they have on social medias often times are linked to the company's app and shows them the exact product/products the ad talked about. By doing this it is easy for the customers to find and buy their products. They also use what a specific person like or watches on a social media platform and then use specified ads to attract that person to their company.

Week 8 Blog Post 1 BIS315
Following my suggestions, the client may encounter difficulties in maintaining a consistent presence on social media, compounded by a perceived lack of confidence in keeping up with the demanding work environment. The contemporary landscape of social media, characterized by a constant influx of content 24/7, can be overwhelming for marketing teams and social media managers. This inundation of information often poses a challenge, making it daunting for teams to sustain a consistent and impactful online presence.
In the current digital era, where the volume of online activity is unprecedented, the fear of being inundated by the sheer volume of posts and information can create apprehension among marketing professionals. This apprehension not only affects the consistency of their efforts but can also undermine their confidence in effectively navigating the dynamic world of social media.
To address these challenges, it's crucial to implement strategies that not only streamline the process of content creation and distribution but also bolster the confidence of the marketing team. Leveraging content calendars, adopting batch content creation methods, and utilizing automation tools can serve as effective solutions. These approaches empower teams to plan ahead, manage workloads efficiently, and ensure a consistent flow of engaging content without the burden of constant real-time involvement.

BIS315 Blog #2
After watching We've Been Sneaking Into Your Brains and reading Before the Internet it made understand that maybe life is affected daily by social media. You can do almost anything from these apps in the palm of your hands. Social media's influence in my life is moderate, and I don't post often but i do use it to connected with urban life, my generation, and current world news. The internet be readily available is a problem because it also to get entertainment instead of going out in the world and actually finding things to do. One time that I didn't have a active internet connection was when I went camping in utah, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be because I was surrounded by family and my favorite cousin. I would like to limit my hours of social media use by setting certain downtimes away from it.

My name is Kris Busman, I am a CMU student taking the BIS315 course. This is my junior year at CMU and I am going for an entrepreneurship degree. in addition to being a full time student I also work full time as a manager at a small property management company. I hope to learn something from posting these blogs. I hope to learn some skills that can help me improve our business. One company who is in a similar industry that I like their social media is https://www.pridehardscape.com/. I think they do a really good job of showing the transformations and services they provide for their clients in a really clean good light. Their social media has given me a lot of respect for their company.

Social Media Log & Experiment
This week, I designed and conducted an experiment on my personal phone and social media usage for my BIS315 class. First, I had to log how many times I checked social media, how long I was on for, how many texts I sent, etc. Collecting that data showed me I spend too much time looking at social media and other apps and I would like to decrease my screen time. So for the experiment, I consciously tried to limit how long I am on my phone by putting it away during class, while I did homework, and while I did chores around my dorm. I also tried to implement other activities in place of using my phone such as coloring, reading, and taking walks to the market or around campus. I noticed that I was more focused without my phone and had plenty of time to do things that I enjoyed or needed to get done. Overall, this experiment showed me that I do not need to be on my phone nearly as much as I am and I want to continue making efforts to limit my screen time and social media usage.

BIS315 WK2 POST
Before reviewing the content for this week, I knew I spent too much time online or checking my phone. However, after both logging my time for a day and watching the video/reading the article, I feel like I'm online far too much.
Something that caught my attention was Max's introduction. He opens by saying that he's help develop some of the strategies that he talks about later on, and why they're destructive. It must be difficult to put time and effort into projects that help the business, only to realize how it affects society afterwards. When he mentioned the perspective of how a social media business views it's clients, the purpose of the apps and their strategies became clear.
With the article, Emma reminded me of when I was younger. Back when I was unsure what the computer really was, and when I broke some fiber optic cables because the popping noise was fun. A lot of times I'd end up just playing with Legos in my room or dig a hole outside, but boredom resulted in activity of some kind. Nowadays, I end up doom scrolling on reddit or watching something on Youtube. It's not the worst change, some days I just want to lounge around and do nothing but it's certainly a noticeable change.
To say the internet is an integral part of my adult life is an understatement. I use it at work to help my clients, I use it on the go to look up information, and I use it far too much at night to play games. Some days it really sinks in, and I feel like garbage. When I'm away from the internet, such as on camping trips, I feel like it's an internal reset. No notifications, no flood of irrelevant news -- just me, the forest, and those darn mosquitos that won't leave me alone.
With all this being said, I think I want to fix my internet usage to a degree so I can try doing other things. Setting a more defined time for gaming would be the biggest start, as opening up time for some level of exercise could help make improvements in my overall health. It would also help if I put my phone further away from my bed at night so I'm less tempted to watch videos at night (or hit the snooze button).

Hello BIS315 Class!
My name is Hope-Alana, and my background is in the creative realm. I love to refurbish items, make jewelry for my Etsy shop, garden, paint, write music, play instruments…anything involving creativity. My career goals are to one day open a 100% eco-friendly vegan coffee shop as well as open an animal sanctuary for abused animals of all sorts. My major is Entrepreneurship and Business Management, and my minor is in Psychology as I love learning how the mind works!
I currently am a District Manager for two Biggby Coffee locations, with a third location opening in a few weeks! I work many hours (60-75) a week and am also getting ready for my wedding this Thursday, so suffice to say things are busy!
I love Embellish Handmade on Instagram. She has an amazing way of gaining followers, posting her handmade jewelry, and knows how to post effective pictures that will gain interest based on the understated beauty and array of colors she uses. She can be found here: https://www.instagram.com/embellish.handmade/?hl=en. She also engages by writing in each post some of her processes of creating or reasonings behind making certain jewelry look the way it does. I have not seen her collaborate, however she does repeat her success through her pictures by engaging an active audience!

Introduction
Hello, my name is MaKenzie Sebastian and I am a fourth year student at Central Michigan University. I am currently working towards my Bachelors degree in Business Communications. I am still unsure of what exactly my future plans are,  but I hope to work somewhere in the project management field. With this blog I hope to further my communication skills by expressing my thoughts in a scholarly outlet; in addition to connecting with my fellow classmates through a new medium.
A company I believe has a great use of their social platform is “Netflix”. The company knows its audience, and makes sure to target its campaigns to the people they know will receive it the best(Millenials and GenZ). This explains  their frequent memes and niche tweets on their twitter account. These tweets are meant for a group of individuals who enjoy the content then share it among their mutuals, thus providing free advertisement for Netflix as it is continually spread across the internet. This online presence also reaches broad audiences to get them hyped over new movies and shows coming out soon, offering a refreshing form of media to create buzz for upcoming projects.
