Wow I am so pleasantly surprised with the results, I wasn't expecting kaminari or enji in the top 10 let alone enji in the top 5. The rest isn't the most surprising but I can't complain. Love the special art piece, everyone has great energy. So many great designs but I think I love Ochaco's hat the best.

Could I request a fantasy Au! with barbarian bakugou & dragon kirishima with a village girl darling. After one of their village friends dares them to go into the cave where they live, and so happens to wake dragon kirishima & trying to flee away from him but ends up getting injured.
YANDERE BARBARIAN BAKUGO X READER X DRGAON KIRISHIMA
HAPPY UPDATE DAY MY LOVELY LITTLE READERS!
Tumblr media
“Cmon y/n… it’ll be fun I promise. Just in and out, and if you can do it we’ll all do your chores for the rest of the month” the older blonde haired boy pleaded, feigning friendship with you. Kaminari and his goons were quite known around the village as the rich assholes who knew they could do anything they wanted. You just happened to be the only one younger than them in this stupid village, so naturally you were a target.
They had been… teasing you recently. About your unease of the cave only a few miles out from town. You lived in a heavily forested area, with trees stretching for miles, and there were many… rumors. Or myths. Or even fairy tails if that’s what you wanted to call it. Of fairy’s who pranced about during the night feeding on lost souls, of half human half horse being who would stomp you into oblivion, of mermaids who lure you into the waters and never let you leave. Those stories you could handle. But there was always one… the tale of the two dragons, it was quite common in your town that the parents would tell the story to their young children in order to keep them from going into the woods alone.
It said that two dragons live in that cave, searching for lost children, and when they find those children, they eat them.
Yes, not the most complex story, however there was just something about that cave, all the older kids regularly visited it, vandalizing tne stone caverns. It was technically against the kings rule to do such a thing, but nobody was brave enough to go there and check. You never did, not once did you go when kaminari invited you, he had such a knack for finding ways to make you uncomfortable.
When you kept denying his invitations, he finally caught on. You. We’re. Scared. And boy did it get a rise out of him, it was like he had never heard anything funnier.
“Y-you’re scared of a cave because of that stupid horror story your parents told you when you were little? Jesus give me a break” he would say between cackles. Then, he would go silent, and then things got real bad.
All of a sudden it was like Every waking hour of his was like it was his goal in life to get you into that cave, he would knock on your door at 5 am to ask you, then pester you all day, only to wake you up at 12 at night to ask you again. And kept you awake until you gave him a maybe.it made you want to gouge your eyes out at how well he was getting under your skin, you weren’t sleeping so you didn’t have the energy to go do all the tasks you had in the farm, meaning you didn’t get paid as much as usual, meaning you couldn’t eat everyday.
It had been weeks since he started this, and now it was beginning to break you down, you were stuck thin and tired all the time. Meanwhile he stayed plump and healthy, having nothing better to do than to bully a poor girl must be a luxury of being rich. And so, reluctantly, after weeks of pure torture. You said yes.
“Fine. I’ll go into your stupid cave, but only for a minute. I’m not staying a while.” You mumbled out, tears starting to form at the edges of your eyes. You didn’t want to say yes, but you were just so tired.
“Okay! Let’s go.” He spoke chirpily. Skipping off into the woods with your Raggy sleeve in his hand. As you got closer and closer it was like all of the trees were waning away from you, screaming at you to get out and run far away, to never come back.
“N-now? But I have to work-“ you sputtered out, struggling to keep in line with the tall boy, your forehead was glistening in the sun with sweat now, your eyes were wide, your hands wee clammy, it was just oh so obvious that you were uneased.
“Work can wait, it’s not like you’re accomplishing anything anyway. Only for a minute. We’re almost there!” He continued cheering happily, you hated him, you hated him for exploiting you like this, you hated that he was forcing you into a place you would rather die than go into. You hated this.
But you could do very little to fight back against the older boy, now that you said yes you highly doubted he would let you turn back on your decision. So you kept your mouth shut, and tried to press the bile stuck in your throat down, along with your anxiety. It didn’t take very long to arrive at the cavern, it was just an obsidian blue opening in one of the taller hills of the forest, sorrounded by trees. There were little glistening crystals jabbing out front he opening. You knew they hadn’t been mined because everybody was far too fearful to go near the place. It was a warning in itself.
Denki shoved you forward with a harsh push to your back, you winced and looked back at him, trying to plead with your eyes that you were scared, that you didn’t want to do this. To no avail of course, as he just sent one of those condescending smiles of his, and gave you another shove.
“It’ll be so quick, I’ll count sixty seconds and then call for you. Just in and out y/n. Don’t you dare come out early” he hissed at you, and shoved you for the third time today. And so you went tumbling into the cave without anything, no flashlight, thin clothing( which did nothing against the cool breeze wafting around the cave), no weapon. No food. If you weren’t scared up there staring into the cave, staring into the belly of the beast, you definitely were now.
You counted the seconds, and wandered further, searching for a wall to press yourself against in order to feel safe. But found nothing, by the time you’d come to a slow you’d only reached thirty seconds, and also realized you had gotton lost in the dark. It was pitch black here, you couldn’t even see your hands in front of you, let alone the sorroundings, before it was too late you stopped paying attention to which direction your steps were in, and now you didn’t know where you were.

Now you were panicking, you couldn’t feel anything, or see anything around you, and you sure as hell didn’t know wether you were going further in or out of the cave. Your heart started racing, and now those tears that had threatened to spill earlier were beginning to slip out of those e/c eyes of yours onto your face. Panic seeped into your system, and you realized.
Denki would just leave you here if you didn’t come out when he yelled for you. He wouldn’t care if you were ok, he wouldn’t give a damn. He would leave you here alone in the dark.

All of a sudden you felt something behind you, perhaps you’d walked far enough to find some kind of wall to quite you out of here, or at least to provide you some comfort. But also, this felt wrong, like it wasn’t something that belonged to the cave…
60.
And like that, you felt a shove in your back that pushed you forward, your foot caught in a jagged rock in the ground so you toppled. But instead of meeting a harsh rocky ground, instead of breaking half of the bones in your body, you began to plummet straight down. You didn’t know what could’ve been worse.
The screams that left your mouth were quiet and breathleSs, too clouded by sheer terror to be very loud. Your hands found your head and your clutched your ears, trying not to panic too hard. It was all to fast, and then you hit the ground, and everything was so slow.
You screamed out in agony as you fell almost 90 feet onto a sharp crystal-like stone, which pierced through your leg. The sobs that left you were ugly and snotty, but you had never felt pain like this before. You were gonna die at the bottom of this cave, and no one was going to know you were even here.
“KAMINARI PLEASE. PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME HERE IM HURT. ILL DIE” you screamed out, but no one answered. You just sat there sobbing for over five minutes, too hyper fixated on the pain to care about anything else. Then you heard the voices coming from above, but your mind was beginning to go blurry, you couldn’t see how much blood you had already lost, but you felt empty now so it had to be a lot. You couldn’t make out most of the conversation.
“P-please sir- I did what you asked, I led her here and put her in your nest- please let me go” you were able to recognize the pleading voice as kaminaris, he seemed… scared? Of who? There was somebody else he was talking to. Nest?
“What I asked was for you to give her to me, now she is hurt because you weren’t fucking careful. Not only were you over three weeks late on getting her here, you also caused her pain. Is that what I fuckung asked you to do, boy?” A man’s voice spoke in, it was so tough that it sounded like the man had been eating sandpaper his entire life, but it was also very crisp, very harsh. He was angry. VeryObviously.
Your consciousness began to loop in and out, but after that, all you could hear were screams, and the occasional pleading. You heard a crunch once. This only fed into your fear, and now you found yourself frantically trying to un-impale yourself from the crystal, but it just wasn’t budging. Then, all the noise stopped, which was alarming in its own. Then, you felt a sliver of some kind of tail slide past your leg, then again on the back of your neck, and then. To your utmost terror, something- or someone swooped you off of your feet, and begin to hold you above the ground.
Then you fainted
———
You woke up in the same cave, with a piercing headache, your body felt like ice and burning fire at the same time. It was agonizing. The cave was the same, but now there was some form of light shining about, which showcased how this place looked less alike a cave and more like a den. There was faint bickering in the background, but you couldn’t turn to look at whoever two men were talking, your body was frozen in its spot.
Around along the cave walls there were furs of animals hanging off of ropes tied to what you thought was a ceiling , a few blankets that looked too new to be used by the inhabitants of this cave, along with a few pillows. And the jewels, there were jewels everywhere, billions of dollars worth of diamonds and rubys and sad fires. While the cave was beautiful, it was also terrifying, there was no ladder out, and there were sharp weapons everywhere. They weren’t the spears and swords of your people either, these were crafted out of wood, but looked sharper than a diamond.
Then you became aware of the same voice from earlier, softer now, less angry, talking to somebody else.
“He is gone now, no need to fuss darling. She will wake soon, and we will nurse the little one back to health. Poor girl. Already running a fever” you felt a little bit of heat over your body for a split second, and something was making a blowing noise, but then it stopped suddenly, and the sound of a slap rang out.
“We have to be gentle remember? Humans are such fragile creatures, especially children, they might just snap if you push them even a little too hard. Our little one will be safe with us. “ with those words you could move your hands, and then you could scrunch your nose, and then your mouth. They must’ve drugged you to make you soft because most of your body was numb. You began trying to see if you could move at all, but the fluffy blankets under you made it hard to sit up.
Almost immediately a man with blond spiky hair was looming over you, he moved so fast you hadn’t seen him, he tucked his arms under you and lifted you up with such ease that it didn’t seem human. In fact, he didn’t seem human at all, his eyes golden and seemingly glowing, his body too strong. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, but there were leather straps strapped around his chest, along with some fur pants with jangly beads hanging down front he belt. You hadn’t realized you were screaming until he began to hush you.
“It’s okay. It’s alright, your body will feel like this for a short while, I had to give you a little something to make you calm down or you might’ve killed yourself. I did it to help you alright?”it was so hard for you to get out an answer to that without pain, so you just closed your eyes and rested… only to open them again and see the stranger staring at your face. He knew you were awake clearly. But it was almost like he didn’t know what to do with you.
Hot breath behind you found it’s way into your senses again, which naturally alarmed you. You had though it was just you and this.. man? Creature? In here. So you tried to get to see whatever it was. And when you did, you began sobbing once more, and shrill screaming was heard throughout the den.
A thing. No, a dragon was just standing there staring at you, probably thinking about how it wanted to eat you, it’s bright red skin and glowing yellow eyes pierced into your soul as you stared and stared and stared. And the more you did, the more terrifying it got.
“No no no no no- kiri- go hide for now you are scaring her. it’s alright baby, it’s alright. He won’t hurt you, i swear.” Cooed the man as he covered your eyes and pressed you into his bare chest. His warmth was such a contrast to the stark cold in this cave, you could tell something was unusual about him, like this was demonstrating some sort of special behavior. This man just seemed so harsh with kaminari , but his voice turned soft with you, completely different from when he was with denki .
Of course, this still didn’t help you calm down, in fact it just made you more fearful. It made you realize the weight of the situation, kaminari was likely dead and he’s the only one who knew you were here, and you were with one inhuman man, and either a dragon or one really terrifying lizard.
The tears ran freely from your eyes as you stared ag this man, he just hushed you and pulled you closer, tucking your head into the knook of his shoulder and slightly bouncing you. His grip was just so strong, and you were too weak form the blood loss, the starvation, and whatever drug he had given you to try and fight back right now.
The barbarian royalty hadn’t expected you to come today, he’s only seen you from afar before when you were slightly smaller, running through the forests, you had sensed him staring at you, and ran the other way.
You were just so small. So tiny. Many of the humans around avoided the cave, and the town nearby wasn’t exactly known for baring many children, he hadn’t seen one as young as you in over 15 years. And god did it awaken something in him, and something in his dragon too.
They used to care for children when they were younger, children who showed clear signs of mistreatment, children who got too curious and wandered into their nest. But then the village caught on to why so many young ones began to go missing. And they tried to kill the “beasts” in this cave. Of course they failed, and of course they all died. The tale that pursued was nothing but a childrens fairytale to frighten the little ones from wandering. And the two inhabitants were forgotten.
And this town, this town has become cursed, after you, the young ones stopped coming, no children could be had, so there were no children to care for. Which is why you were so special. Oh gods you smelled so fresh, so pure, and he could tell that boy that was nothing but a pile of blood and bones had been doing something to you, you smelled of sadness, of exhaustion.
He would nurse you back into too shape though.
He would take care of you, along with his partner.
He would make you a big soft nest where you could go when you got overwhelmed, when you got scared.
He would care for you
Oh god how happy will his tribe be when they found out he had found his child

Okay but like, isn’t giving someone a dragon egg sort of like a proposal for the barbarians? sneaky Bakugo getting engaged and not telling his fiancé
YEssss that is 100% something Katsuki would do. Tricking you into marriage is the only thing thats gonna work because you dont pick up on the clear and very obvious signs of flirtation and obsessiveness, but thats fine. Katsuki will manage to get you one way or the other. (Kats has even held your face and confessed his love, only for you to smile and hold his face and say "aww I love you too, KitKat! And I love you, mr bunny! And you too, moo moo" basically u didnt take him seriously, you probably thought he was just roleplaying the knight in shining in armour, just like when u were kids.)
Anyways, Katsuki is visiting you and unbeknownst to anyone in the palace, he has a dragon egg. By the time your dear uncle Shotou hears about it, he's just a second too late as he bursts into your room, only to see you already have accepted the smug barbarian's gift.
And now Uncle Shotou, who was supposed to look after you while Dabi and Keigo were away on business (they were fracking) is panicking because how is he supposed to explain this situation to your father, or even break off the whole engagement without the barbarians starting a war.
First things first, he threw Katsuki out of the castle, which was a whole feat in itself because you kept interfering, saying that he was your friend who brought you a very expensive gift. But Shotou asserted his authority and sent you to your room while the royal guards threw out the brash blonde.
Then Shotou tried to explain to you about the whole "accept dragon egg = accept marriage proposal" concept and that you need to absolutely return the dragon egg back in order to break off the engagement. And of course you protest, because who tf would wanna give up a DRAGON EGG but you conceded to his request after Shotou borderline begged you to return it ("your father will kill me and Katsuki, princesss.")
Anyways, you write a letter to Katsuki, summoning him because you want to tell him something important and Katsuki practically skips his way over to your castle because he thinks you're about to confess your love for him as well.
By the time he comes, Dabi and Keigo are back from their "business" as well and are in their room while you have Katsuki in yours, where you begin to gently explain that you cannot accept the egg because you don't wanna get married just yet, and Kats is just starting to become heartbroken when just then, the egg hatches and a small baby dragon comes out and its just so small and cute that it has captivated both your and Katsuki's attention, and you guys dont even notice when Dabi and Keigo walk in on you two and then Dabi is just like-
"What the hell is that?!"
You and Katsuki looked at each other before you walked towards Dabi with the baby dragon still in your hands, you smiled softly.
"Dad... meet your grandchild!"
And both Dabi and Keigo's mouth are agape at your statement.
"What?" Dabi asks.
"Well, Katsuki and I are engaged-" "WHAT?!" "-yeah, and we have a baby to take care of now." You said casually as you cooed at the baby dragon, while Katsuki puffed his chest and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.
"Get your hands off her before I rip your arm off!" Dabi gritted and the threat worked.
Meanwhile, Keigo just addded more oil to the fire. "So- Y/n, you're telling me you birthed a dragon? That thing came out of you? Or did it come out of Katsuki-"And that seemed enough for Dabi to finally lose control and pounce on Katsuki.
"YOU DEFILED MY DAUGHTER?! IM GONNA KILL YOU!"
"No, dad! We are engaged and I sent him away-"
"YOU WERE GONNA LEAVE HER ALONE TO RAISE YOUR MONSTER?!"
And you are barely able to get in the way and let Katsuki flee (of course, u promise him to meet again soon)

A Forgotten Realm (Barbarian! Bakugo x Reader)
Tumblr media
You have been an archaeologist for years now but ushered into the darkest and forgotten corners of the museum. Your chosen specialty was in the once renowned City of Musutafu - which unfortunately for you has been seen as a farce, bordering on the make-believe and whimsical in high society. But you know the forgotten empire that was Musutafu was real, it just had to be with all the fragmented evidence found over the years, but several journals discredited its authenticity and cited that there was no conclusive evidence that Musutafu was anything more than myths and storytelling from much greater (and more realistic) societies. You never regarded these setbacks, even when they landed you in the basement of said museum, cataloguing donations and doing the linguistic legwork your superiors were far ‘too busy’ to do themselves. But when a strange journal turned up on your doorstep, outlining the archaeological find of the century, you embarked on the expedition of a lifetime. To bring back something to show that Musutafu really did exist. But you didn't expect to actually find a forgotten world, thriving and hidden. Nor the crimson-eyed prince who ruled there.

Usually when people ask you what you do for work, you hesitate. You usually politely answer with anything other than what you really do. You say instead a scholar, or a linguist, that you work in the cataloguing department for the museum. You don’t say you’re an archaeologist for the pure fact that many of those around you have a completely different idea to what you do, than what the reality of it is. People imagine that you embark on adventures to unearth riches, march your way through jungle and over mountaintop to reach the forbidden mysteries withheld there, that you travel across the horizon to discover what may lay there.
You don’t. You, despite your brilliance and intellect, have found yourself holed away in the museum’s basement for years now. Going over dusty tomes and relics, cataloguing them for storage and rotating which artifacts are in the displays – all important jobs of course – but not quite where you imagined yourself either. You’re not entirely sure just how you ended up here, or why your work wasn’t taken as serious as your colleagues, but there you are. At your desk, alone, late into the evening as you dust through ancient Mesopotamian artifacts and package them for storage. “Don’t you ever go home?” A voice calls out from nearby, and soft footsteps cause you to look up from your work. You hum in response as a purple-haired man walks from his desk to yours – a tired look in his eyes as he examines the latest thing to have captured your attention. “Mh, of course not. Not when there is work to be done still Shinso,” you offer him a polite smile, “I won’t be much longer. Just have to pack these away.” You quickly begin to put your tools away and return the artefact to its bed of hay and secure box. “You work too hard, y’know. Don’t be too late.” Shinso gives you a soft nod before he yawns and cranes his head over towards the door. “Remember to lock up when you leave.” “I will, thank you.” You smile at him again and heave the box up into your arms, delicately holding it as if it were going to shatter with the slightest mistouch. “Get home safe, I’ll see you in the morning.” Shinso gives a satisfied nod as his eyes travel over your form curiously but he hesitates to move for a moment. He lingers as if he wants to continue the conversation before turning to leave. “See you in the morning, Y/N.” He calls back and throws his hand up in a casual wave as he turns to look at you over his shoulder. You wave back and almost lose your grip on the box in your arms quickly returning both arms to the box to hold it correctly before turning on your heel to put it in its designated storage spot. This definitely isn’t where you had imagined yourself when you decided to pursue this field of work, but it pays the bills and keeps you warm, fed and a roof over your head.  The mind numbing commute from work left you dead tired, and the trek up the four flights of stairs to your humble (albeit tiny) city apartment reminded you of the hours already spent on your feet. You’re practically collapsing as you open the door. The hinges were rusted and old as you threw your body weight against it several times to encourage the damned thing open. It relented. You kick your shoes off and hang your coat before your foot nudged against something. Something hard. Reaching down to pick up the strange parcel that had been somehow rustled through the mail slot, you cautiously examine the address of the sender. “No sender… Where did you come from?” You murmur and flip the parcel over to tear through the beige paper. “Down the chimney, of course.” That wasn’t your voice. You didn’t say those words. Who said those words? A lamp light clicked on and illuminated the silhouette of a young man. A mess of yellow blonde hair, with two longer face framing pieces were the first thing that caught your eye followed only by the smirk plastered against lips. He looked almost bird-like, but charming all the same.  “Wh-Who are you?” You demanded, mustering up your best attempt at bravery. It earned a modest smile from the avian intruder.  “My name is Takami. Keigo Takami, but you’re welcome to call me Hawks.” He rose from the seat he was in and adjusted the cuffs of his red jacket, seeming to take a nonchalant approach as to not intimidate you. Not yet, anyway. “I’m here on behalf of my employer. He believes that you may be able to help with that little package I’ve so nicely delivered into your dainty little hands.” Your eyes drift back to the package in your hands before flicking back up to the blond who had now crossed one arm over the other, watching you in amusement. “Well, aren’t you going to open it?” He teased with an admonishing chuckle. You go back to unwrapping the curious package in your hands to be met with a book. A book with Musutafu’s insignia inscribed on the cover. Your eyes are as wide as dinner plates now as your fingertips brush the cover. Its real. The lost city of Musutafu is real, and here is your evidence. You cautiously open the book and eagerly begin to skim the pages, taking in the words written and the imagery of the city. “Where did you get this?” You breathed out, barely a whisper, as you looked back to Keigo. He simply smiled and shrugged softly. “Found it whilst digging in a tomb. Thing is, no one knows how to read what’s in it. Not a single soul but you. Took a while to find an expert in the non-existent you know.” He stood straight and smiled reassuringly at you. “Suppose all those years in the basement of that museum really gave you time to study the language, huh?” You laugh. You don’t mean to – its almost like a knee-jerk reaction to the sudden thoughts whizzing into your mind. “Expert? I wouldn’t say I’m an expert.” You are cut off by Keigo giving you a look. A look saying you’re being too humble for your own good. “Shame then. We need an expert in gibberish to come with us.” He sighed and rest his cheek in his hand, very clearly baiting you into a response. “Come with you where?” You answer a little too quickly. “To Musutafu, of course. We’ve got a team assembled and we’re embarking on an expedition,” He says it as if it’s the simplest thing on earth, “And my employer has reserved you a seat on board, if you’d join us.” You don’t even hesitate to say yes.
Tumblr media
When Keigo ‘Hawks’ Takami made his introduction in your humble apartment you didn’t expect to find yourself in a ship not even some 36 hours later, traversing along the thrashing waves of some godforsaken ocean surrounded by your newly acquainted colleagues; Hawks, who was second in command and charming as ever; a Commander Enji Todoroki who captained the ship Endeavour, and the expedition team for your financier - one Mr. Toshinori Yagi.
You also hadn’t expected a maelstrom to engulf your ship like the metallic meal it was, and spit it back out in an underwater volcanic cavern. But as the fates take, they also provide. Many good men and women were lost to the sea, and you were all reminded by Commander Todoroki that your team was that remained and you’re all to ensure you look out for one another.  Your enthusiasm hadn’t died, unlike the Endeavour, and it was visible to your colleagues. You were left in charge of traversing through this cavern to find a safe place to camp and allow time for the expedition party to recuperate and figure out how the hell you’ll be escaping from this volcanic shaft. You did so diligently, and as you led the few dozen survivors along a pilgrimage further into the cavern the fates blessed you again with a clearing - and a ruin. A sanctuary where you’d be able to regroup for now.  “And as water gives life, it also takes. Be safe and well with she who shelters from the tides wrath.” You muse aloud as you read an inscription on the entrance to a ruined temple, inspecting the polished stone for signs of danger before you gave the go ahead for other survivors of the wreckage to set up shelter within its walls.  “This seems like a shrine devoted to the Musutafan goddess of water, or of safe travels.” You say as you turn your attention to a crumbling statue in the middle of it all. The statue depicted a woman kneeling with her arms up in the air - offering something to the heavens above. Only her hands were empty, and all else that was visible was the waterfall behind her and the lush shrubbery that covered the long forgotten stone. It was beautiful. She was beautiful.       “Maybe the goddess can give us some luck then, or a blessing.” Hawks spoke as he carted a tent kit over his shoulder and past where you’d set up your own little workstation. Thankfully you had managed to shave your books by some miracle in the wreckage.      “We don’t need a blessing. We just have to get out bearings, collect something from down here, and get home.” Commander Todoroki’s voice was a lot sharper and pointed than he intended.  You look back to the statue, taking out a sketchbook and beginning to jot down her features. “And you’ll be able to get us home, Commander. But in the meantime I’m going to be doing what I was bought here to do-”  “Decipher the jibberish?” Hawks teased. You snort in response.  “Uncover what happened here, yes. Uncover Musutafu and show the world that it really existed.”  “There will be plenty of uncovering to do later, Miss L/N.” The Commander’s spoke again to stop Hawks from continuing with his jilting. “Right now you’re to get your nose out of those books and help set up camp.” You can only nod and hesitate to put your sketchbook down, looking out over the ruins once again. You couldn’t help but be amazed by them and believe this place was real. Something, however, caught your eye. There was a slight movement from far behind the statue, towards the back of the shrine and the cavern wall, but you brushed it off. Could have just been air from the waterfall moving a plant around. You turn and walk back towards the rest of the troops when Hawks called for you to come help him prepare a fire and portion out the rations to the sick and wounded.  Under the cover of the cavern’s darkness, eyes peered out from behind some very well camouflaged greenery. Teeth drawn and weapons sharpened as several figures watched from the shadows. You, and your people, looked strange to them. What was the odd garments you wore, and what was with the strange sticks the men carried? What was their purpose?  You were outsiders. Outsiders were not meant to be able to find this place.         A soft nudge from a red haired male drew the leader’s attention to you - a woman who sat away from the rest of the group inspecting the writing on the walls.  Bakugo’s eyes narrowed as vermilion orbs focused on your body language, trying to figure out what your purpose here was. You were isolated from the rest of the group, he figured they were all warriors or healers of some kind or another based on their actions. But you were willingly venturing away from the group, busy keeping yourself occupied with examining the writing upon the stone pillars of the temple. In this forgotten place, in the crumbling and lifeless old ruins and why were you fascinated by these old rocks?  Bakugo clicked his tongue softly as he turned to the members of the hunting party and signaled for them to surround the encampment, observe, don’t get caught. Several other young members of the party nodded and split up, following the young prince’s orders. His ashen blond spikes shouldn’t have been able to be concealed by the darkness of the cavern, but they were, and his boots shouldn’t have been silent as he stalked his way closer to you.       He stopped short when he was close enough to watch you without your notice, examining what you were doing exactly.  “Vahemna... What does that mean...” You spoke softly as your fingers traced over the words on the wall of the pillar. Bakugo’s eyes widened in shock when he recognised his mother tongue among the words that came from your lips.  Could you speak their language?
Bakugo remained silent in his position, hidden by the foliage as he watched you. He was curious already with the way your mouth moved and the softness to your words as you navigated his mother tongue. He smirked to himself, fascinated by your own accent and how it melded with his language. You were from the surface.
Once the camp began to sleep the war party began to move - the members tip toeing their way between sleeping soldiers and the wounded as they inspected the outsider's things. Several of the others found themselves stealthily digging through the various things in the camp - looking at the guns your Commander had bought upon insistence, the card game a few of the others had played over dinner, the medicines and first aid items which you'd all lugged with you from the watery wreckage. A few of them held up items to each other and goofed around, making silly faces before earning a stern glare from the prince. He didn't even have to say anything to exercise his authority. Bakugo was more concerned with you though as he approached silently. You were quiet as you slept on a bedroll, your back to him and your things as he began to examine them. He crouched down by your sleeping figure and picked up the book carefully, eyebrows furrowing when he recognised the insignia inscribed on the cover. "Nis forten ji grinnesh?" Kirishima whispered as he came over to the prince - his words were strained and hushed as the bulky male tried not to disturb you, but his eyes widened when he saw the book too. Bakugo tucked the book away securely in his fur cloak, nodding to Kirishima. You, however, stirred and sighed softly as you began to wake. The presence of the two people by your sleeping form was what roused you from your sleep, but also the sound of a whispered conversation. Your eyes fluttered open and met Bakugo's, wide in horror as you froze. These two men standing above you both looked at each other, and then back at you for a moment before jumping into action. The blond slapped a hand over your mouth and yanked you roughly from the makeshift bedroll, his muscly figure holding you close against him as he began to move quickly back in to the shadows and the plantlife. Your scream was muffled enough by his hand that your camp mates didn't seem to stir at all, and your jerking and struggling only made Bakugo's grip on you tighten as he moved faster. You could feel just how rugged he was, but you could also feel how he was holding back from using his full strength over you as he absconded. Left with little other option, you bit down on his hand. Hard - hard enough to draw blood. Bakugo hissed and removed his hand from your mouth and shoved you into the other male's arms, the redhead restrained your arms behind your back in another tight grip. A bubble of gruff laughter came from Kirishima's lips as he held you back. He was clearly amused by the face his friend was making. Bakugo was less than impressed as a fierce scowl darkened his face and this gave you an opportunity to take in his appearance properly. Aside from the scowl, his facial features were sharp and his eyes caused your skin to burn under his line of sight. He wore thick, white fur-lined boots, knee pads and a pair of dark blue pants barely secured around his hips with a thick belt of sorts. You took in the sight of his Adonis belt, the toned abdomen as your eyes trailed upwards. The prince was almost completely topless minus the fur cloak he had around his shoulders, and the beautiful layers of beads which drew your attention to his very board chest and large pecs. Bakugo narrowed his eyes as he examined his hand - the movement causing you to oggle and the orange material around his arms and the bulging mass of muscle that could rip it at any second if he flexed too hard.     "Tch... Iknoz kil wegge lys dira." He spoke in a low grunt. Your brain began to search your mind for the translation. "We should just kill her now." is what this man said to the others as he watched for a reaction.     "No!" You piped up and shook your head, jerking a bit in the redhead's hold, "Fhyro, fhyro di kil!" You plead. Please, please do not kill! Bakugo's scowl faded into into a wide smirk when you did open your mouth. You could speak the language. He had been right. This had Kirishima slowly beginning to loosen his grip on your arms as you fell to your knees. Bakugo crouched down in front of you and roughly grabbed your chin in between his thumb and forefinger, examining your face. He tilted it around as he examined your features curiously. You were certainly pretty for an outsider.     "Wyros rif nagae?" What is your name? The redhead asked quietly, craning his head to the side in curiosity to get a better look at you too. Bakugo gave a soft hum as he let go of your face and rose to his feet again. The rest of the war party encircled you, all faces were shocked to see you speaking their language.     "Nagae? Mi nagae ich Y/N." Name? My name is Y/N. You reply as you look around at your captors.     "Vha rih schok dus mi lykiri? Hah?" Why have you come to my kingdom? Bakugo crossed his arms over his chest as his intense gaze burned through you. You looked surprised. His kingdom? You didn't know how to respond in his own language. You looked troubled as you hesitated to answer that there wasn't supposed to be a kingdom here.

Maybe one day I'll write it...
So, imagine Pro Hero Dynamight. Although he is doing very well in his career and is in the top 10, he is still feeling trapped. He was stuck in an overachiever cycle where he had to do more and better every day. If he fails, his rank drops and goes back to square one. He had to struggle with journalist and analysts Heros 24/7 and he is very tired of it. Tired of this cycle but never being able to go out of it.
He barely goes home, he's always at his agency if not on a mission. If Kirishima was not working at his agency, he wouldn't see any other friend. He was pressured into taking care of everything on his own. And nobody managed to say a word to him about it.
He didn't see his parents for such a long time that Mitsuki is surprised he took her call. But Ms. Bakugo needed to verify if his son used his birthday present from last year. Yeah, I know, very important.
Bakugo didn't open it.
His birthday present was a ticket from a corporation called Dream Match. It's a super sophisticated matchmaker service where they pair you up with someone to do a shared dream.
A ticket cost over 5,5 millions yens. It will be lost if Bakugo doesn't make an appointment within a week.
He doesn't know it's a matchmaking service until he goes to their website. His parents told him it was some expensive vacation experience bullshit.
After pondering and conversing with Kirishima, he realizes that he is not obligated to do anything with his partner after the dream. So he goes, all nervous and suspicious, just hoping he would have a good sleep.
On the other hand, there is Y/N. She has an earth quirk and dreams to be a hero. Although she didn't attend a high-ranked Hero school, she was able to land a promising sidekick job.
But it was not what she expected. She was manipulated into signing a contract that required her to do the Hero's job, but she won't be given the post or recognition. Nobody will ever know she exists.
Although she has the same quirk as the Pro Hero of the agency, she is more powerful. And they take advantage of that. The media has no knowledge of her, she is kept in the shadow of the Hero. While the Pro is on a mission, she is there too, fighting without anyone seeing, pretending that the Hero is doing everything.
And she can't leave unless she drops her dream.
One of her friends gave her a Dream Match ticket to cheer her up. And she ends up being paired up with Bakugo Katsuki aka Dynamight without knowing.
XXX
In the dream, Bakugo is an exiled Barbarian Prince. He is the heir of the Dragon throne, descendant of Hoshi the Dragon King. He lost a battle and is sent into exile by his own father.
Mercenaries are sent to kill him by another kingdom. He finds a curious lamp on his way. Once in his hands, the genie trapped inside goes out.
Y/N is the genie and had the duty to grant him three wishes. Her magic binds her to the lamp and slowly take away her humanity. Each times she uses her magic without granting her master's wish, she looses her voice for some time.
Katsuki dreams to redeem himself. Y/N dreams to be free again.

The barbarian
He's following him now. Izuku doesn't know what to do, All Might certainly didn't prepare him for this when he sent him on an adventure on his own.
The barbarian's name is Bakugo Katsuki and he tried to fight him first, only to abruptly stop when he realized Izuku could perfectly fight back and was not afraid of him.
Bakugo even allowed him to cross through the forest, but hasn't stopped following him ever since; Izuku is not sure if he's actually doing it to keep an eye on him or if he's just heading towards the same direction somehow.
He doesn't want to ask, because he doesn't want to have another fight with the barbarian; he's a grumpy one, although very handsome if he must admit.
"You're not that bad, for a nerd," Bakugo chuckles suddenly, walking right next to him.
"Uhh... Thanks?" Izuku mumbles, still not sure what to do or what to think. Perhaps he just got himself a friend?
"My village is at the end of this road," Bakugo says, grinning smugly before pointing at some sort of tattoo on his shoulder; it looks pretty, but it has an empty space in the middle that makes it look incomplete somehow. "I finally have chosen a letter for this one. I'll go get it done."
Izuku feels more relaxed now, so the barbarian is not actually following him... He just wants to go back to his village.
"Great! I–"
"It won't be that long. We'll be there for a couple of hours."
At first Izuku thinks he imagined the "we" but Bakugo grabs his arm and pulls him past the forest and into the village.
Some people greet Bakugo, others just bow in front of him, which actually gives Izuku a very bad feeling about the whole situation.
Bakugo looks excited and absolutely pleased, Izuku supposes is completely normal since he's with his people, even though he doesn't seem to pay too much attention to them. The problem is that they seem very curious about Izuku though.
He feels a little bit more relieved when they walk into a large tent where a beautiful girl with pink hair greets them, Izuku doesn't have time to say "Hi" or introduce himself because Bakugo talks first.
"I came for you to finish my ink."
"Really?" The girl looks like she can't quite believe it, but at the same time a joyful glimmer lights up her eyes. She then glances at Izuku. "I've wondered why the barbarian King have decided to do me the honor of paying me a visit again..."
King? Izuku blushes, feeling a little bit better when Bakugo finally releases him.
He should be careful, he almost got into a fight with a King.
"He's very cute," the girl comments, smiling at Izuku.
Bakugo walks in the middle of the two before baring his teeth at her; she doesn't look alarmed at all though.
"I'm not going to steal him!" She rolls her eyes, before pushing the King aside so she can look at Izuku. "I'm Ashido Mina."
"Midoriya Izuku," he mumbles, still not sure what's going on. "It's a pleasure."
"And I thought you told your mother you didn't want to get married..."
"Shut up, pinky!" Bakugo, to Izuku's surprise, gets a little flustered after that.
"Fine," Ashido chuckles. "I'll stop teasing you. So... It's going to be an "I" then?"
The barbarian looks at Izuku for a second before nodding; his cheeks turn slightly pink after that.
Izuku doesn't really know what they're talking about until Bakugo sits on the ground and Ashido kneels next to him before she starts inking a very elegant and beautiful "I" in the middle of his mesmerizing tattoo.
Izuku wonders what it means as he sits on the ground as well to wait for Ashido to finish.
"Oi, nerd! Catch!" Bakugo uses his free hand to toss Izuku one of the necklaces he was wearing just minutes ago. "Put this on."
He's still very much confused, but decides not to ask questions until they're alone again, besides... He's a King and Izuku doesn't want to get in trouble with someone like him.
"Thanks," he mumbles, assuming it's just a gift, maybe Bakugo does actually want to be his friend after all...
"So... When did you two meet?"
"This morning," Izuku answers quickly before Bakugo can say anything. The response makes Ashido stop and look from one to another almost in shock.
Surprisingly, Bakugo blushes... again.
"Aren't you going a little too fast?" Ashido asks, concern written all over her features.
This time Bakugo smirks at Izuku before meeting her gaze, he's not flustered anymore; he looks fiercely determined.
"I've never been so sure about anything in my life."
The answer seems to be more than enough to make her worries vanish because she grins again before continuing with her work.
"I hope you two are very happy then."
"We will," Bakugo grins almost triumphantly at the same time Izuku mumbles a shy: "Thank you!"
The people of that village are weird, but kind.
"You have to see your mother..."
Bakugo huffs and Ashido rolls her eyes, although she looks very amused.
"Who's gonna officiate the wedding then? Besides, you have to introduce Midoriya to everyone..."
Is there going to be a wedding? Is he invited? Why does Bakugo have to introduce him to even more people?
"Fine!" The King huffs again. "Sorry, nerd, your ridiculous adventure will have to wait one more day. The wedding comes first after all..."
So is Bakugo the one getting married? Izuku is even more confused now. But he supposes he can wait a little bit before leaving.
He wonders about the person Bakugo has chosen to get married to. He'll probably meet them soon he supposes...

Tumblr media
You had left the island of Karessi before, but you had never felt so apprehensive about it. Your mother stood on the beach where the water met the sand. Small waves pushed water over her bare feet, and a calm expression graced her face.
If only you could be so calm. You stepped down from the boat and cursed the formal attire you had to wear. The layers of light fabric felt too tight and almost heavy… Or perhaps that was the weight of expectations. You only ever wore clothes that allowed you free movement, but your mother insisted you wear something formal - more formal than you thought possible.
You stepped onto the beach and took a moment to appreciate the sand. You couldn’t feel it on your feet due to the boots you were wearing, but just the feeling of standing by the sea was enough to quieten your mind.
This wouldn’t be too bad, surely. You only had to endure two months…
Your mother stepped away from the sea, put on her shoes, and began walking towards the grass fields away from the beach. She motioned for you to follow and you did so slowly, still trying to prepare yourself mentally.
A loud roar from above startled you. Out of instinct you tried to take a fighting stance, but your stupid clothes restricted your ability to move quickly. You looked up to find where the noise had come from and saw two winged silhouettes in the sky.
Dragons.
Your mother continued walking, and so you followed despite your questions. By the time you had reached the field, the dragons were landing not too far away. The air rushed around you as their powerful wings lowered them to the ground.
There were two of them, one was a deep red dragon with scales that looked sharp enough to cut through stone, and the other was a midnight black dragon with scales that shone like the most polished silver.
Two people dismounted the dragons, dropping to the ground with two soft thuds. Both had messy blonde hair, and you realised that they were Queen Mitsuki and Prince Katsuki Bakugo. Mitsuki hit her son over the back of the head, and they whispered angrily between themselves.
You saw your mother raise an eyebrow out of the corner of your eye, and when the Barbarian royals turned to face you, it finally sunk in. This was it. You pushed any weakness down within you, solidifying your resolve.
You snuck a glance at the dragons once more, only to see the golden eyes of the black dragon watching you. You quickly focused on the Barbarians again, observing Katsuki. He was attractive, you wouldn’t deny that. There was fire in his eyes and a burning anger hidden poorly behind his relaxed posture. He was scowling, but that was to be expected. You would be too if you didn’t have to keep up appearances.
At the same time, he was watching you. He thought you were dull. The formal clothes, the styled hair, the completely neutral expression. You may have looked like a deity, but that did not in any way mean he wanted to marry you, or even be near you.
You both stood staring at each other for an uncomfortably long time until your mother cleared her throat to get your attention. You snapped back to reality and remembered why you were there. All bowed to each other in sync before anyone spoke.
“Can we just get this over with already-” the Barbarian Prince started, only to be hit over the back of the head by his mother.
“I’m sorry for my son’s attitude,” she said, smiling at us. Your mother told her it was alright and you just rolled your eyes. Neither you nor Katsuki wanted to be doing this. It was an arranged marriage, everything about it should explain why no one there was comfortable.
Katsuki left his mother’s side only a moment later, deciding he would be better waiting with his dragon so he didn’t have to sit through any of this nonsense. You, however, stood at your mother's side and pretended to look interested. The prince you were supposed to marry was the man who invaded your lands, you didn’t want to go anywhere near him.
You dared to glance at the dragons again, trying to occupy your mind with something other than the chatter of your mother and Queen Mitsuki. The black dragon’s golden eyes met yours, but this time you didn’t back down. You were completely bored with the fickle nonsense of royal dealings and entirely distracted by the dragon, whose eyes didn’t leave yours. You felt drawn to her in a way you couldn’t understand and gave in to whatever was calling to you.
You left your mother’s side slowly and approached the dragon with caution, trying to calm your racing heart. You didn’t know how to approach a dragon, you’d never even seen one before today. And yet it was almost as though you knew exactly what to do.
You stood in front of her and then bowed. Katsuki noticed you, and it quickly clicked in his head what was happening. He was furious. But it was only made worse when he watched as his mother’s dragon paused, and bowed her head to you in return.
Katsuki began marching up to you only to be stopped by his mother’s arm, keeping him behind her. How long had she been watching? He didn’t know, and he didn’t really care. He glared at you even though you couldn’t see him, and watched as you slowly straightened from your bow.
“What the fuck are you doing?” the prince shouted as he stormed up to you. He had broken free from his mother’s grasp, and though he startled you a bit, you didn’t let it show.
“You have eyes, don’t you?” you asked sarcastically, already fed up with him. Heat radiated from the dragon’s scales, and her eyes fluttered closed as you placed your hand on her snout. Katsuki scoffed.
“Didn’t know you’d be such a stuck-up prick,” he spat. It took everything in you - and a glare from your mother - for you to keep silent. This would be a long two months…
The wind was loud in your ears, and you felt a strange unease being so far from the ground. You were on the Barbarian Queen’s dragon with her after Katsuki had refused to let you fly with him. The dragon’s name was Onyx, and you thought it perfectly matched her shining black scales and elegance.
The Barbarian lands were mountainous and difficult to get to on foot. From above you could see very little of the Kingdom, but as the dragons landed, you could see the castle built into the side of a mountain.
You were crowded by maids and guards when you stepped back onto land. It took you a moment to find your footing before you were whisked away quicker than you thought possible.
You were led into the castle with haste, where you were taken directly to the throne room. You had been separated from Queen Mitsuki and the Prince in all of the chaos, and you were now left alone with a few guards and the King - Masaru Bakugo.
“(y/n), your grace, welcome!” he greeted enthusiastically, “I hope your travel wasn’t too… hectic,”
You raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. He was nothing like his wife and son, he was formal but didn’t seem to dislike it and had a calm air about him. It confused you how he was the King of the Barbarians. No arrogance like the Prince, no assertiveness like the Queen.
“We deeply apologise for the abruptness of this arrangement, however we believed it to be a necessary last resort,”
“I understand,” you said, keeping any emotion out of your voice. You weren’t happy to be there, and you wouldn’t pretend to be.
“I’m glad,” the King continued, “Now, I understand that our cultures are very dissimilar, but I hope you can come to learn of our practices. You are free to roam the castle and our lands as you please as long as you attend meals, and do not approach any dragons without a dragon rider present… oh and I wouldn’t recommend going near the training rooms, Katsuki doesn’t like to be interrupted,”
You took note of everything he said. Nowhere seemed to be off limits, so you were free to scout the weaknesses of the Kingdom. Perhaps you could even avoid the Prince for the whole two months.
“Do you have any questions?” King Masaru asked, and you shook your head.
“Good, if you would like to follow the guard to my right, he will show you to your room,” you gave a brief bow to the King before leaving with the guard. Thank the gods that was over…
You were led down hallways of identical doors and shown to the door to your room. The guard left quickly, and you silently thanked him for his haste as you entered the room and closed the door behind you.
It was simple. A large wooden bed with fur pelts and feather pillows, and the room itself was decorated minimally. Your chest of belongings had been brought here before you and had been placed at the foot of the bed.
You eyed the candle on the bedside table. Oh how simple it would be to burn the castle to the ground and escape home to Karessi. But not yet, you told yourself. You had to wait.
Without lingering on the thought too much, you took off your uncomfortably restricting formal attire and threw it on the floor. You would put it away later, but now you were too tired - not physically but mentally.
You didn’t even have a chance to relax before heavy footfalls echoed down the hall and the door of your room was thrown open.
And then a full second of complete silence.
“What the fuck?!” the Barbarian Prince yelled, as he registered your naked figure. He looked away as quickly as possible, deciding the floor was suddenly very interesting.
“You aren’t royalty in this Kingdom,” he growled, seemingly annoyed by your nudity in your private space.
“I am royalty regardless of the land on which I step,” you responded, not bothering to cover up. You were human and so was he,  it was also fun seeing him so flustered but refusing to leave.
“Now, why are you here?” you asked.
“I don’t want to marry you, so don’t go thinking this was my choice-”
“Good," you said, cutting him off, "because I don’t want to marry you either,” you faked a happy voice. Anyone with a brain could see that he obviously didn't want this, and it made you feel a little better about hating him so much. Not that you felt bad about it to begin with.
The Prince went to go say something else but decided against it after opening his mouth.
“I hate you,” He growled after hesitating slightly.
“I hate you too~” You sang back, sarcastically mocking him as he turned to leave and shut the door behind him.
Hopefully you could avoid him as much as possible over the next two months - but if you had to interact with him, at least you knew how to push his buttons. It might even be fun to see how much you could annoy him…

hello! no rush at all just wondering when you’d ever finish a few of your requests? that’s all! no pressure! :)
Hello! I appreciate this question being worded so sweetly, so thank you so much! I expected this question to come in eventually!
Okay, so, I am currently a month away from my final exams starting hence teachers have overloaded us with assignments, essays, dissertations, and experiments (I'm sobbing, if I have to write one more politics essay or do another fucking antimicrobial experiment I'll cry); since I'm also school vice-captain and a language ambassador, I'm organising a lot of events for the school as well. I'm also studying at the same time for the upcoming exams — afterwards, I'll be graduating and I'll have my prom!
If you can't tell, I've been overloaded with work for the past few weeks and will continue to be.
This isn't to say I haven't been working away at the requests but all the requests are only partially done, and I want to make sure I give my full to the requests and not some half-assed, sorry excuse of an attempt, especially when I have a good idea.
If you guys can't tell, I like making sure you guys get proper answers to your requests, something everyone can enjoy!
But due to my workload, time to work on them is sparse and since I have so many requests, I try to write bits and bobs of each instead of writing a whole solid thing that might turn out shit.
You guys have all been lovely and patient to me and I hope you guys can continue to do so for a while longer. I am genuinely sorry I haven't been as active on Tumblr as I first was when I started but I'm just a bit stressed from my education right now and I hope you guys can all understand!
I can give you an exact date that I will be incredibly online again though: May 17th. This is the date of my final exam. I can absolutely promise that your requests should be done within a week from that date.
My Easter break starts sometime in late March to early April for two weeks as well, so I may finish some requests during that time but I'll have to go again since my exams will start April 20th.
BUT main point is that from May 17th onwards, expect everything to be done. I am okay with people still sending in more requests since I love hearing your guys' ideas and working with them!
I guess this is kind of a semi-hiatus, I will be online and answering private messages or questions like these, and MIGHT squeeze in some time to fulfil requests, too!
Once I am fully back, though, I have many ideas to write for you guys! After requests are all finished and done, I plan on writing lots of other ideas ― many Sanemi ideas, of course, but definitely squeezing in some Bakugo this time, too (specifically barbarian king bakugo) and Genya!
Take care!

Content: We finally meet the barbarian's dragon!!! Death mention, war mention, fae tricksters, murder mention, blood, self-harm in the form of blood pact

The roaring of the dragon was sudden as they stepped through the archway of twisted branches, a portal between the forest and the glade.
“Oh, wow, that’s loud,” Denki noted.
“Have you never seen a dragon before?” Mina asked curiously.
“No? I’ve only been here for, like, three years,” Denki answered.
“Really? It feels like longer,” Mina said.
The roaring grew even louder as they walked, suddenly joined by the sound of breaking branches. Y/n shivered as they walked past a tree that had been torn from the ground. Again, Bakugo recognized the marks of a dragon’s claws slashed across the trunk. Another sudden wind blew past them, ruffling hair and trying to blow away the smallest of them.
“Mina, it would really help if you tried to take charge of the wind again!” Denki scolded. The wind died down as soon as it had started.
“I would if I could, but dragon wings are strong, Denki!” Mina argued. “I’ve been trying!”
“Stop arguing,” Y/n demanded. She gestured for the group to group to come closer, not quite hiding behind a tree but certainly not standing in plain view.
Before them was the eastern pond, half-drained though everything around them was wet. The dragon had clearly been splashing up a storm, sending water flying. Trees were knocked over and broken, and Bakugo could tell from the pained look on Y/n’s face that she could still hear their dying cries.
The ground shook as a giant red claw slammed down on the ground just a few trees ahead of them, and Denki’s face paled, his whole body going stiff.
“Holy shit. That thing is huge.”
“Most dragons are,” Mina stated flatly. She turned her attention to Bakugo as he stared at the red claw on the ground. “So?”
Bakugo sighed heavily as he recognized a particular scar on the dragon’s wrist.
“You idiots should’ve called me in sooner,” he scolded, stepping out from the trees. He walked directly up to the dragon, the nymphs watching his every move carefully. “Hey, dumbass! Down here!”
“Is he insane?!” Denki hissed. “Why’s he just calling it like that? Is that how you tame a dragon?”
“If he gets himself killed, we’re killing the forest,” Y/n said. “So that better be how you tame a dragon.”
The dragon didn’t seem agitated by the barbarian king’s call, however. The nymphs watched as the dragon bent its knees, bowing down. They watched as Bakugo looked around for a moment, but seemingly not finding whatever it was he was looking for, he shoved a finger in his mouth and bit down hard.
“Ew.”
“Yeah,” Mina agreed. “Ew.”
Bakugo held out his hand to the dragon, and Y/n watched carefully as the dragon licked his blood. Not a moment later, a bright light blinded them all, forcing their eyes closed. When they opened them again, the dragon was gone. In its place was a redheaded boy, falling onto the ground with a thud.
Bakugo kicked the new man’s shoulder gently.
“Wake up, dumbass,” he grumbled. He looked back at the nymphs. “You can come out now, he’s done being stupid.”
The group of nymphs came out of hiding slowly, joined by Tsu and Koji who’d been hiding behind different trees across the pond.
“Oh, hey, Kats,” the boy said, voice scratchy. He sat up slowly.
“You lost control again,” Bakugo told him. The redhead’s eyes widened.
“Did I hurt anyone?!” He asked, worried.
“Yeah,” Bakugo said simply. He gestured to the destruction around them. “This was all you.”
“…Shit,” the dragon boy groaned. “Did anyone die?”
“So the dragon wasn’t even a dragon,” a clear voice rang out thoughtfully. Bakugo turned around to search for the voice, but was met only with a ball of light.
“You again,” he said dully. “Why are you here? I thought you said you’d let me go if I stop the dragon from tearing the place down.”
Once again, the bright light of the fae king died down as he took on a human form.
“I never said that,” he said, grinning mischievously.
Bakugo sighed heavily.
“Right. Denki said it, so you’re not bound to any promise you didn’t make, goddammit,” he grumbled. “Fine. Whatever. I’ll do your stupid trial thing.”
“And you,” the king said, turning his attention to the dragon boy and ignoring Bakugo. “Stand up, shapeshifter.”
The dragon boy stared at the faerie king with wide eyes as he stood slowly.
“Hello again,” he said nervously. The king reached out suddenly, taking the shapeshifter by the chin and prying his mouth open. The dragon boy seemed to have no issue with it, resigning himself to the king’s touch.
“Hmmm… Double-fanged, ruby-red eyes,” the king mused, turning the shapeshifter’s head this way and that. He dropped his chin in favor of lifting the creature’s hand, splaying its fingers before his eyes. He scowled. “Claws coated in the blood of innocents.”
“I thought I recognized you,” Y/n said, glaring at the dragon boy with a burning rage in her eyes, fire fueled by the dying screams of her forest and a years-long grudge. “It seems like you’ve been living a good life since we last met.”
“What? You know this guy?” Denki asked, confused.
“Yeah, Eiji, you know her? You never told me you were involved with fae creatures,” Bakugo said.
“‘Its mouth had far more teeth than it should’ve. Through the fire, its red eyes shined like rubies in sunlight, though they were far more dangerous. It slashed and burned everything in its path, headed west, and I heard its growls and roars all through the night, slowly growing distant’,” Fumikage recited suddenly. “…That’s from a diary entry dating back to when Y/n was a human. The war that killed her wasn’t between human races.”
“The Dragon War?” Bakugo asked. Fumikage nodded. Bakugo turned to face the dragon boy. “Explain. Now.”
“Look, that was in a time before dragons learned how to shapeshift,” he said awkwardly. “I didn’t have the capacity for thoughts and feelings! Just rage. Pure rage. So when the other dragons started fighting each other for fun, I joined in.”
“You’re from the capital, so surely you’ve heard of the Red Western Conqueror, right?” Y/n asked darkly. Bakugo stared at the dragon boy, shocked.
“Please tell me that’s not you,” he said seriously.
“I’m not proud of it,” the shapeshifter said quietly. “That’s not who I am anymore.”
“Once a killer, always a killer, no matter the guilt,” Bakugo said. “At least own up to your murders. Don’t feign innocence when you're a monster.”
“Because that attitude worked out great for you, huh?” The dragon asked skeptically. “How many cities are we banned from again?”
“I’m dead because of you,” Y/n interrupted. “The criminal’s right. You are a monster and a murderer. Don’t pretend you’re not just because time has passed.”
“I’m sorry that you’re dead, but I’m not going to own up to actions that weren’t mine,” the shapeshifter said seriously. “I am not the same dragon anymore.”
“Look at the destruction around you,” Y/n seethed. “My trees are dead and dying because of you. Tsu’s pond is tainted because of you. Koji sent his animals away so you couldn’t hurt them. Your stupid giant wings took the very wind from Mina. This is the fault of whatever new dragon you claim you are now. It doesn’t matter how long ago you committed a crime, it will always have been committed by you. I know firsthand. All of us here do.”
“Y/n and I committed our crimes the same time of the Dragon War,” Fumikage said. “We are still being punished. How you managed to escape consequence is beyond me, dragon, for I, too, had no capacity for advanced thought or emotion.”
“…What?” Bakugo asked, confused.
“I committed my crimes as a human,” Y/n explained. “As did Tsu, Mina, Denki… Fumikage and Koji, however, were never human at all. My corpse rotted during the voyage from the willow forest here. It was only natural that a scavenger creature would eat my flesh.”
“However, by faerie laws, it’s illegal to harm someone awaiting a trial from the king,” Fumikage said. “I was just a hungry bird, but that didn’t matter. I broke a law and that’s that. It’s a shame that a mere bird is punished for eternity while a mass murderer roams free- Even if it has decided to change its ways.”
“There is only one power in this forest that I do not hold and damn do I want it right now,” Y/n grumbled to herself.
“You want to banish the creature from your home?” The king asked, needing clarification. Y/n nodded.
“I want nothing more,” she confirmed.
“Hmmm… Well, you are my favorite forest-dweller,” the king said thoughtfully, weighing his decision. “On one hand, the chaos… But a dragon is dangerous, and you are furious.”
“Look, I’ll take him out of the forest myself,” Bakugo said, interrupting the fae king’s thoughts. “No one wants him here. I can drop him off with this stupid adventurer twink I know, then I’ll come back and let you do your thing.”
“What if I say I intend to kill you, and then you never return?” The fae king asked suspiciously. Bakugo sighed.
“I’m not a coward who runs from a death sentence,” he said. “But on my honor as a fellow king, I’ll come back and let you make me pay for my sins or whatever.”
The fae king was silent for a moment before making a decision.
“Y/n, accompany the false king,” he said. “As soon as the dragon is with this ‘stupid adventurer twink’, bring the criminal back to me.”
“You’re sending Y/n off with the dragon that led to her death?!” Kaminari asked, appalled.
“Your majesty, even I question this decision,” Tsu said softly. “This shapeshifter angers Y/n more than anything I’ve seen. He killed her mortal body, and you want her to help guide him to safety?”
“Yeah, she might disobey you and just kill him back!” Kaminari protested.
“I’m going with her, my king,” Fumikage said suddenly. “This dragon is also at fault for my eternal preservation. We two have personal grievances to air.”
The faerie king just shrugged.
“Alright,” he said simply. “The trees and death are in my hands while you two are gone. Be sure to return, and don’t do anything stupid or unlawful.”
“Will Fumi retain his human body?” Y/n asked. The king turned to look at the death spirit. “Do you want to?” He asked. Fumikage nodded. “Then, yes. He shall.”

Forgotten Realm - City of Splendour (Barbarian! Bakugo x Reader, Chapter 2!)
Tumblr media
When you oh so politely informed Bakugo that there wasn't supposed to be a living, thriving city on your expedition he seemed to not quite comprehend the fact. Surely the surface people didn’t think that everyone in the city just died during the cataclysm? The entire war party looked flabbergasted when you informed them that, not only that the rest of the world thought the people here were just a myth, you were a scholar who focused on extinct civilisations - and you focused on Musutafu, specifically.
Tumblr media

Katsuki came to the conclusion that the smartest thing to do right now was to bring you back to the city. It would give him the chance to figure out what to do with both yourself, and your exploration team. The blond heaved as he escorted you through the dimly lit streets of the City of Splendour. Twinkling lanterns illuminated the streets and you eyes couldn’t have been more lit up if they tried. You look in awe up at the sights, the people, the architecture.
The hushed whispers of 'yahaka', outsider, didn't seem to phase you.
Bakugo watched your expressions closely. It was entertaining to him to see your sense of wonder in seeing his city for the first time. The sense of curiosity emanating from you being somewhat endearing to him.
As bad as it sounded, you wanted to see every single thing the city had to offer regardless of the situation you found yourself in. This was technically a perfect opportunity for a private tour, and you had after all only been yearning and searching for this place your entire life. So, despite having your hands bound together in rope and being trailed along through the streets like a prize, you stop to examine a large statue of a woman. She bore a fierce resemblance to your captor, looking between the statue and then to him, and then back at it.
"Who is this?" You ask, speaking in Musutafan again. You were met with a simple grunt and a yank as Bakugo took hold of your bicep. You didn't quite catch what he said under his breath.
"The Lioness of Musutafu," Kirishima spoke up in his friend's place as you were again pulled and yanked along by the blond, "That is our queen." You look at Kirishima with a curious expression. Not that queens weren't fantastic rulers, no no. It was the fact that the history recorded in the Book of Musutafu had indeed mentioned the title. Though, that book had to be hundreds of years older than the statue, and the current inhabitants of the city so it was out of the question that it was indeed the same woman. "Queen?" You ask. He nodded. Kirishima was taller than Bakugo, with longer, wilder, red hair which trailed across his back and shoulders. It was tied back for the most part, with two smaller pieces framing is face in horn-like fashion. Despite his sheer size, he didn't come across as intimidating. He simply gave you gave a nod and a half-smile.
You nervously give a polite smile before your eyes trailed to Bakugo's hand. His fingers had lingered a little too long when you followed the wordless command to begin the walk up the staircase before you. He caught your gaze and narrowed his eyes, removing his hand and giving a tug on the rope as he walked a few paces ahead. Kirishima had an intrigued smirk on his face and nudged his friend, earning a snarl from the blond. You kept quiet.
As you reached the top of the staircase and walked a short-ways through great marble pillars, you were met with a beautiful water garden. There were toppled statues peeking out from above the waterline, and another cascading waterfall framing what you presumed was the throne. It wasn’t a grandiose chair, but it was set higher than other seats with vibrantly coloured tapestries and cushions placed upon it. A woman sharing the same ash blond hair as your captor sat perched on it, accompanied by a man with brown hair sitting beside her. Your entrance caused the woman to stand.
“Bow. On your knees.” Kirishima said to you in a hushed tone as he bowed, and you quickly copied his action. Bakugo didn’t bow, just stood there looking up at whom you deemed to be his parents through the physical similarities they shared. He was a ruler here.
You lift your head a bit to see how this was going to play out.
“What is this?” The woman answered, her tone a mix of angry and intimidating, “Where did she come from? Katsuki, you know no outsiders can see the city and live!” She clearly wasn’t worried about you being understand the language.
“She’s from the surface, rekke. Knows the language.” Bakugo’s clearcut words caused his mother to stop in her tracks. She didn't seem phased at the fact she'd been shown such disrespect as to be called a crone, but was more the fact you had heard - and understood - every word of the conversation that was taking place. She and look towards her husband for his input, before looking back at you.
“Can you speak our language, then?” The male asked, watching with calm intrigue. When you didn’t immediately answer his father, the younger Bakugo’s boot gently nudged your thigh to provoke you to respond.
“Y-Yes, yes I’ve been studying it almost my entire life.” You lift your head as you look at the two of them, recognising the woman before you from her statue outside of the palace. This was indeed the the Lioness.
“I’m a scholar, I’ve dedicated everything to the study of this city and its language, and traveled a long way to find it. I wasn’t expecting for everyone here to be...” You did your best to find the correct words, but you were out of practice seeing as you’d never held conversation with someone else who could speak the language.
“Alive.” Mitsuki finished your words for you as she began to descend the throne to study you. She hummed as she circled where you knelt. She was like a predator circling her prey, sizing you up and trying to see through you to find your intentions. You see where the name 'The Lioness' was derived from. When you weren’t deemed a threat, she looked at her son. “Was she alone?”  “No. There’s a couple dozen of the fuckers taking refuge in the temple. Took her cause she can speak alright. Thought she could help w-” Bakugo’s words were cut off when Mitsuki raised her hand to stop him. He grumbled lowly in response.  “Lets keep it that way. Seal the exit to the temple, no one goes in or out of the city til the intruders leave. Kirishima, organise extra guard posts. Take every precaution to ensure we’re not discovered. We don’t know their true intentions.” She was quick and to the point. Once her back was turned Kirishima sent you an apologetic look as he rushed off to carry out the command he was given. Mitsuki gave a satisfied nod as she began to walk up the stairs again.
“Wait please, allow me to stay. Uh, he said that I could help with something. If I can help make use of me.” Your soft plea piqued the king's interest, it was clear on his face as he watched you look up at Katsuki - his son - with a pleading expression. Katsuki's gaze was already on you when your eyes met his. Intense and questioning, but not hostile as it had been before. A howl of laughter erupted from the Queen as she sat back in her chair. The quieter male that was with her whispered softly into her ear, drawing Mitsuki's focus back to you. "And what makes you believe we need the help of an outsider? All your peoples have done is cause us grief." Mitsuki asked as she leaned back, awaiting your response.
Katsuki pulled a book from his cloak and held it up for his mother to see. It certainly piqued her interest. "She had this. She can help." The prince growled lowly, waving the book a bit before he dropped it down on the ground next to your knees. "I found her, I'm keepin' her." He began to untie your hands. You looked confused as to why he was having such a sudden change of heart, but didn't argue. Whatever kept your head attached to your body at this point.
“If no one will come looking for her, my dear, then I suppose to it wouldn’t hurt to learn everything we can of her people and what they’re capable of.” Masaru said it softly, holding Mitsuki’s hand and looked at his wife. "We've never had an outsider be able to understand us before. If we leave her things scattered at the temple, the others could think she’s been killed by an animal and leave.” Masaru spoke up again, clearly the diplomat of the family.
“Katsuki!" Mitsuki’s voice raised and sharpened as she did very little to sway Katsuki as he ushered you along with him, walking out of the water garden. You squeak like a little mouse as you watch him take a few paces then begin to follow - you’re probably safest with him, anyway. Mitsuki let out a disapproving sigh as she watched the two of you leave her throne room. "Istik! Come back here!" She yelled out. Brat.
You find yourself now just following Katsuki through the halls of the palace, always a few paces behind him. You lingered around for moments as you stopped to see the paintings on the walls, the carvings in the marble and the beautiful views of the city from the windows and open-door balconies.
You get to get a feel for the marble when your back hits against the stone, earning a gasp from you as you're now sandwiched between the coolness of the pillar and the warmth radiating from the prince. One of his large calloused hands had pinned your arm above your head and his face was hot enough that you could feel his breath fanning over your lips.
"I want to know everything," Katsuki spoke in a low and gravelly tone. Pointed. Sharp. Demanding. It ignited something within you and every nerve from your core to your spine tingled, "Where did you learn our language? How did you get here?"
He started drilling you with questions. What were your intentions here? Where had you come from? Was the rest of the camp planning an attack? And when you stuttered and stumbled over the words, he tightened his grip. "Answer me." "One question at a time, please." You manage to breathe out in a hushed, soft tone, "I'm not used to actually speaking your language. I've only ever read it." He pulled himself away from you. The cold of the night air nipped at where you could once feel his warmth. Your body craved for the heat of him to come back. "You can read this?" His tone dropped, less harsh but still gravelly and coarse. He held the book out and inspected it before opening the pages to delve into it.
"Yeah, just like you can." You watch him curiously. "I learned by reading that and other artefacts. I wrote my entire doctorate on the study of-" He cut you off. "This. You can read this?" Katsuki asks it again, crimson eyes lifting from the page he was examining and searching deep into your eyes for the truth. You swallow timidly and nod again before the thought crossed your mind. "You can't read?" You ask it softly, timidly, as if you do not want to cause any offence in even suggesting the idea. He grunts as a response, closing the book and handing it back to you. You take that as a no. He stepped back and put his hands on his hips as he leaned his weight back. Katsuki looked you up and down, and you held the book closer to your chest. The two of you share a moment of silence before you speak up again. "So, does this mean I can stay?" He responds with a grunt. But you take what you can from him - it wasn't a no.

Just a little drabble that I couldn't get out of my head.
TW: Canon typical violence, injury, betrayal,
A/N: In my head, they call each other by their hero names out in public and that's reflected here VERY briefly. Please tell me if you like it. I haven't written in years and I want to again but I can't stop hating everything I write.
Laying on the ground at the mouth of an alleyway was not the way you wanted to go... But unfortunately the piece of shit you'd called a partner had a different idea... After almost 2 years of working with Spectral Barbarian, you hadn't had a single clue who they really were..
You and Spectral Barbarian had decided to move away from the central fight to cut off the villain's escape route but instead, as soon as you were far enough away from the fight, he'd turned on you and caught you off guard with a vicious attack from his spectral war hammer that sent you flying into the corner of a building.
While you were still in shock, he destroyed your coms and stomped you so hard you almost blacked out with strength you hadn't seen in all the time you'd been working together. All while monologuing about how bored he'd been and how he was so relieved to go home and get away from you and how weak you were and blah blah blah.
You pushed yourself up from the ground, forcing your arms under you and pushing with everything you had... One gave out but you managed to get to your knees, cursing as you sat back on your heels to rest for a moment before forcing yourself onto your feet.
You leaned against the wall next to you and took stock of the damage... Your coms system and your phone were completely destroyed 'fuck'. At least one rib was broken, one eye was swollen shut, and even leaning against the wall had what was left of your vision going splotchy along the edges.
A loud explosion snapped your attention back to reality and you looked back toward where the fight was. The sun was setting so all of the fire and light quirks lit up the sky like ominous fireworks.
"I need to get back there." You groaned, using the wall for support and forcing your feet to drag you down the street toward the fight.
'Almost there, just a few more steps, I have to help them.' You repeated in your mind over and over again like that alone could keep you going. Your legs were so heavy like you were walking through slow drying concrete but you couldn't stop, you had to move forward.
You were so in your head that you didn't hear the fighting die down, and you didn't notice that you'd made it back to where all of the pro-Heros were still congregated until you heard the familiar voices of your friends and colleagues.
"Can someone call me a medic?" You tried to shout but there was no power behind it as you finally allowed yourself to slide down the wall that had been supporting you.
Several things happened at once. Everyone who heard you turned around and gasped at your sorry state. Medics were called, your friends swarmed you, and a bunch of different questions were being asked at the same time.
"Holy shit, what happened"
"Where were you?"
"Does this hurt?"
"Can you breathe?"
"When did the villain get you?"
The world was spinning too fast, you couldn't think straight to answer anything until large, warm hands settled on your shoulders...And shook you.
"Oi! Get out of your head and answer the questions!" Bakugo demanded as gentle as he ever was.
"Dynamite, be gentle, we don't know how bad their injuries are." Kirishima put his hands over Bakugo's and stopped the shaking.
"Their spine is fine... A couple of fucked up ribs and probably a concussion but the rest of the injuries are superficial." Bakugo added, but he did refrain from shaking you again and instead used his hands to make sure you were looking at him. "Who did this to you."
You took a deep breath, you knew as soon as you said who it was, a least one of them would take off after him.
"Spectral Barbarian turned on me." You began. "He told me he had intel that found a retreat around the other side of the building and we were heading over there to block the escape and as soon as we were out of site he smashed my ribs with his hammer and proceeded to stomp on my face while telling me how much of a weak piece of shit I am..."
Just like you'd predicted, Bakugo straightened up, and about 3 others started formulating a plan and panic struck you.
"WAIT!" You yelled. " He's so much stronger than he pretended to be! He's never been able to knock me off of my feet that easily before. I don't know how he was hiding his true strength but he was." You babbled, trying to stand up but Kirishima pushed you gently back to sit.
"I don't know how to tell you this, but Spectral Barbarian doesn't exist." He told you, concern clouding his features.

Barbarian Bakugo sitting near the camp fire preparing dinner. He took his cloak off a while ago because the fire was enough to keep him warm. As he's turning his food over on a stick he catches movement in his peripheral vision.
His cloak was moving!?!
He turns fully now to see that yes, his cloak is being jerked along the ground, kicking up twigs and leaves.
And it's heading towards the forest.
"What the f-" He quickly bolts up and chases the runaway clothing. It seems the cloak is trying to pick up the pace but one quick burst of explosive magic lets Bakugo cover the short distance quickly to land directly on the tail end of the cloak. He hears a startled screech and in the next moment a small red dragon rolls forward from underneath the cloak, ending up in a dazed sprawl.
"Well lookie here, caught myself a little thief hmm?" Bakugo taunts, crouching down to poke the dragon on its belly. The dragon lets out an indignant squeak, flailing its legs and wings to right itself.
The dragon turns sideways, puffing out its chest and raising its wings high, trying to appear bigger and threatening. Instead it reminded Bakugo of a fiesty kitten and he snorted.
The dragon didn't like being laughed at so it let out a small growl and darted forward to snatch the cloak once more with its jaw.
"Oi!"
Bakugo grabbed the other end of the cloak closest to him in one hand and pulled it towards himself.
The dragon dug its claws into the ground, jerking its neck side to side to try and tug it out of Bakugo's grip.
It was a losing battle.
"Why do you want my cloak? It's way too big for you anyway!" He barked, pulling the cloak even closer to himself.
The dragon growled.
Bakugo gave one final tug upwards so the cloak was now dangling from his raised hand. As he looked down he saw the dragon was also dangling from it, it glared at him as it started to tug on the cloak again.
"You've got guts I'll give you that-"
He cuts himself off when he hears fabric tearing. A section of his cloak falls to the ground along with the dragon who screeches again in surprise, kicking off the fabric to go back into a defensive stance.
Bakugo looks at the fallen fabric to his cloak to assess the damage. It tore unevenly, giving it a more distressed look. Nothing too bad to get seriously mad over. He puts the cloak back on, staring at the dragon for a moment before he nods his head towards the fallen fabric.
"I did say /my/ cloak was too big for you but I think that piece will be enough, sounds fair?"
The dragon seems to relax its posture ever so slightly, still wary as it steps towards the cloth. It looks up at him again, tilting its head and letting out a small chirp.
Bakugo watches it bite the fabric and he nods in encouragement, "There, glad that's settled then, enjoy." He turns and heads back to camp.
The fish he left over the fire was definitely burned to a crisp when he returned, he grunted at the loss but whatever. It's late and he can't be bothered to fish again, he'll just sleep now and wake up early to hunt. He lightly punches his knapsack to make it a makeshift pillow before settling and throwing his cloak over himself, listening to the sounds of nature to eventually lull him to sleep.
It must have been only an hour or so before he wakes up to shuffling noises nearby, too small to be a threat though.
He sits up, to view the camp-site, all of his stuff was still here. Huh, whatever then.
He flops back onto the ground and turns to his other side to see a familiar little dragon bundled up in cloth and staring back at him. He raises an eyebrow.
"Can I help you?"
The dragon chirps at him, a few soft trills before it snuggles back into the fabric, only its tiny horns and wings can be seen.
"Guess you're staying the night then? Fine, I better not wake up to you stealing anything else." He warns, only getting a muffled huff in response.
Bakugo closes his eyes to try and get comfortable. Ten minutes later he can hear a soft snore from the dragon. It reminding him of a cat purring. A soft soothing sound that was helping him relax, he could feel sleep approaching quickly now.
'Huh, I could get used to this.'
