I often see so much "cringe" talk about people looking back at themselves as a teen. You know, that kid needs more compassion. You gotta give those younger versions of yourself compassion and love and patience. because they need it. Love yourself. All the parts.
I wanna go back in time and hug that teenager kid super tight. Stumble over that hill in the woods where I used to hide. Find that kid and just squeeze the shit out of them. Let them sob. If they think I'm whoever-spirit thats fine.

i was wondering if you could give some general tips for is3?
i have a decently developed account but i still cant manage to even get to the first boss every run, let alone beat it. like most runs in is2 i could at least beat Lucian but here i feel like im hitting a brick wall
I've prepared something special for this ask today.
We will be doing a full breakdown of a squad I've run with restrictions. It's a run I just completed as I'm typing this, so I can go over my thought process on both team building and path taking. I also won a run on my first try with the restrictions in place (in fact my IS3 winrate is actually much higher than my IS2 winrate at this point), so I'm fairly confident my strategies are sound. If the massive text scares you, don't worry. I'll also make a TL;DR version at the bottom.
My Three Restrictions:
Ch'en the Holungday, Gavial the Invincible, Mlynar, Kal'tsit, Texas the Omertosa, Pozyomka, Horn, Ling, Goldenglow, and Yato x Kirin are banned - This is a combination of both CN's usual ban list for IS3 competitions, as well as the latest ban list on Lungmen Dragon's latest IS3 competition for Global. This is to show that I don't need meta ops to win that proper teambuilding is what wins runs
Must be Wave 5 - This means the difficulty is low enough to still be considered "low level IS3", but high enough to have the +1 hope cost, +10 RES, and +15% ATK and DEF on all bosses
CANNOT pick People-Oriented Squad - This means I've got to deal with the big hope costs.
And here is my results screen
Now I know what you're thinking. "What the fuck Shutters, your run got the -2 hope costs for 4 stars, AND for 5 stars, AND the 6 stars! Carried by RNG!" While it is fucking hilarious I got all three Hope cost reduction relics when I was trying to starve myself of hope, be assured I didn't get 6 stars - 2 Hope until late Floor 4 where it was hardly relevant. i'd actually rather have gotten combat relics since I still had Hope leftover by the ending.
Let's get into teambuilding and decision-making.
I started this run with 8 Hope (got the pre-run bonus for +2 starting Hope), which let me recruit one 6 star at the very start (I always go with As You Wish so I can get a 4 star for free). In this case, the random shuffle I got was a 4 star Defender voucher, a Vanguard voucher, and a supporter voucher. My starting squad was Gummy, Ines, and Orchid.
In both IS2 and IS3, a usual strategy is to have one core 6 star operator carry you through the early game until you grab more vouchers. Ines is an incredible starting core in this difficulty, since she sees through Invis, is a fast redeploy, is a vanguard, can block enemies, and has enough damage in S2 to get you through Symbiosis in the worst case scenario. I'm actually surprised she isn't considered ban-worthy.
Your biggest threats in the first two floors are Symbiosis, Sniper Squad (if emergency), and Malady. Always, ALWAYS try to have one operator capable of blocking enemies on the ground. If you get all ranged vouchers, bring someone with a summon such as Beeswax if Caster (or Amiya then change to Guard Amiya), an Artificer for Supporters, or Totter (to kill invis) or Rosmontis for Snipers. If you get Emergency Sniper Squad and have no way of blocking or killing invisible units, you autolose. Malady wants you to have either two melee blockers, or one melee with a medic and some ranged damage. Symbiosis is the biggest threat — One unit has to be able to block, and you need strong DPS to cut through the horde. There's no shame in losing to Symbiosis, you either got the operators you need, or you autolose, so I always make a starting team assuming I'm gonna get Symbiosis.
I got lucky with a medic voucher and got Pith (who is so damn good), and on my next defender voucher I got Spot instead of upgrading Gummy. This is because I wanted to get two sources of melee block-3 ASAP since I was lacking in AOE, and Spot is one of the best 3 stars in IS thanks to being Block-3, tanky, having a heal, and evasion. He's worth the 1 hope.
Once you get ground units and a heal, hopefully by Floor 2, you want to start preparing for Floors 3-5. In this case, I got a Sniper voucher and immediately got Kroos the Keen Glint. I consider Kroos the strongest Sniper in IS3 just behind Pozy herself, because she has two traits any IS3 team needs: a source of stun/bind/freeze, and strong anti-air. The Stun/Bind/Freeze counters two gimmick enemies, UFOs (I forgot their real names but you know which ones) and the hated Nethersea Predators from Stulifera Navis. Both enemy types get countered by crowd control.
So by early Floor 3, I had Ines (promoted), Kroos the Keen Glint, Pith (promoted), Spot, and Gummy. At that point I had pretty much everything I needed to make a run to Floor 5 (to reiterate: one fast redeploy, several ground operators, good anti-air, at least one source of stun that can also hit air units), so I began grabbing operators that synergized with my collectibles. Hand of Pulverization meant Rosmontis, uh, pulverized everything, Gnosis was a second source of crowd control in case I got unlucky with Kroos' stun crit RNG (protip: In IS, getting two different kinds of operators who have overlapping roles will carry you deeper into runs since it gives you leeway to make mistakes), and I got Firewatch for that mix of AOE burst damage, invis if need be, and for her incredibly high damage against ranged enemies.
I got two cursed relics on the way. - light per battle, and all operators start with -15 SP. I always try to pick a path with Fortuitous Opportunity since you can trade cursed relics for good ones. Luckily, I had two such nodes, one in Floor 3 and one in Floor 4.
If operators get cursed (which can indeed be instant losses if it's a bad curse very early on and on your core operator), I go for the node that lets you send units out for supplies, it removes curses and promotes operators. At Wave 5 or below you always start with 100 Light, so it's possible to avoid instant loss curses by playing well in Floors 1-2 and not losing any lives (so even if you roll a 1 you don't get cursed)
While you can start freestyling team building once you have your important roles all assembled, I personally like grabbing counters to Floor 4/5 stages that have the biggest chances of ending my run. For this run in particular, these are
Lin, for Out of Control - This stage is one of the most terrifying no matter how experienced in IS3 you are, simply from the sheer amount of Possessed and Bonethrowers coming at you. Lin hard counters this, since with her module active, Bonethrowers cannot break her shield, giving you a tank that doesn't need medics.
Franka for Ubi Bona Somnia - Those spear-zombies from originium dust have 2000 DEF and 80 RES (90 at Wave 5), Franka is there to kill the one that spawns in this stage specifically.
Pompeii (Territorial Tendencies) - I didn't need to grab a counter for in case I met Pompeii since I already had Firewatch and a hand-powered Rosmontis, but if I didn't, it's always a good idea to grab an anti-Pompeii unit like Jaye.
Then once I got to Highmore it was a simple matter of knocking down Highmore with Gnosis' freeze, pulverizing Phase 1 with Rosmontis S3, knocking down Highmore again with Gnosis, then killing Phase 2 with Ines. If you're aiming for Last Knight or Ishar-mla, your team needs will be different of course!
So! I hope that helped you understand how to think about approaching an IS3 run, but in case none of that made any sense and I wasted 3 hours writing this, here's a TL;DR
What do I generally need?
Floor 1
Ground units because you need to block
DPS to counter Symbiosis specifically
Heals
Floors 2-3
Strong Anti-air (IS3 has a lot of flying enemies)
One fast redeploy like Agent Vanguards or Executor Specialists (effective in a vast majority of stages in IS3)
At least one source of Stun/Bind/Freeze that can hit aerial units (to deal with UFOs and Highmore that need to be knocked down, Nethersea Predators so they stop fucking dodging)
You may realize that Texas the Omertosa has all 3 of these qualities. This is why she's considered an automatic ban in all IS3 tournaments
Floors 4-5
Specific counters to the stages that kick your ass the most
Specific boss counters if necessary
Specific operator combos with your collectibles (for example Cutter + Any spinach type collectible)

Persona 3 Characters Ranked By How Good of Hugs They Give
kotone/hamuko/minako. best hugger in sees. she's a hashtag empath, so she always knows when you need a hug, too. will tug your head down to rest on her shoulder and start rubbing your back and everything. the technique? perfect. 10/10 no notes.
shinjiro. he's a lot less likely to hug anyone but aki, but when he does, it's big ol bear hug and he's not letting go until they feel better, period. he feels slightly awkward about it, but once he's holding on, he's committed. he's got that weighted blanket swag. (he doesn't smell the best though which holds him back from first place)
ryoji. hug will be a bit awkward at first but then he'll find his stride and suddenly he's a good hugger for all the same reasons as kotone. he had to get it from somewhere, after all. loses some points because he can be a little overly familiar, so he might employ back-rubbing in situations where it's unneeded.
fuuka. she's a little shy and less likely to hug, but if she does, she'll do it with all her heart!! a very gentle hugger who will try to console you as you're hugging. she might also start crying if things get emotional tbh but she won't get your shirt too wet. she also isn't likely to let go until you're smiling again.
aigis. she may be made of metal but i think we know from the ending of the game that she will cradle her loved ones so gently and with all the love and protection in her whole body <3 probably hugs a little tentatively because she doesn't want to crush the recipient of her hug. she's surprisingly warm, not cold, and her arms are less rigid than you would think.
i HAD to put koromaru this low because he technically can't hug you. but you can hug HIM and he is soft and warm and loves you so much.
yukari. she has good hugging technique, like fuuka's, but she's much more hesitant to actually hug and is more likely to pull away prematurely because she suddenly gets bashful. if someone else hugs her, she might even freeze up rather than hugging back, even if she wants to. her mind is racing with other thoughts as they hug, which makes her hug a little awkward and distracted.
theodore. gives an excellent gentle hug but he has no idea what to do next. he'll just stand there totally still indefinitely, and you have to kick him to get him to let you go.
elizabeth. hugs very enthusiastically but she will be saying some weird eccentric shit into your ear while you're trying to enjoy the hug. you could be on the verge of tears and she'd be like "oh my, is this what you humans call a 'bear hug'? should i summon a bear persona? ohohoho."
akihiko. he will hug with reckless abandon, but he is very awkward about it and hugs way too tight. like, a firm hug is nice and all, but akihiko please i cant breathe you'rE CRUSHING ME AKIHIKO--COUGH COUGH HACK--
minato/makoto. very stiff and wooden while he hugs you, so the hugging technique itself is pretty poor, but he has good awareness of when a hug is and isn't necessary and knows exactly when to squeeze a little and pull back. a quiet, slightly awkward hug.
ken. would be higher up on this list if he could just accept that he is Small but whenever he hugs someone he has to attempt to hug them in a Big Boy way which means he'll be trying to pull you down so he can hug you from "above", like with your head on his shoulder, and your back is gonna hurt like hell afterwards because he is just way too short.
junpei. gets self conscious and jerks away in the middle of a hug, just like yukari, but his technique is also awkward and wooden like minato, and if he's emotional enough to hug without feeling awkward then he'll be squeezing too tight like akihiko. worst of all worlds.
mitsuru. oh god. you're hugging her. why are you hugging her. what does she do with her arms. where should her face be. oh my god you're still holding on. are you saying something? she is not listening. she is too busy standing completely still like you're a t-rex whose vision is based on movement and if she just stays perfectly still you'll forget she's there and wander off.

Astarion snaps his fingers and a servant appears. He quickly rattles off instructions. A cup of her favorite tea, laced with some animal blood, warmed just the way she wanted it. Her favorite tailor is summoned.
He follows her to their old room, and deep inside he is giddy, an emotion he hasn’t felt in a long time.
She sits on her old desk, running her hands over the filigree. She has missed her comforts here. Her table where she worked. Their bed - the mattress a perfect softness and the sheets always immaculate until they methodically ruin it every night. She turns to Astarion, and seeing his grin, can’t help but smile back.
For a moment, all is well.
Whither is thy beloved gone?
Chapter 6
Astarion stands behind the artist they’ve commissioned, fingers idly scratching his chin as he watches the painting taking shape on the canvas. A good likeness, he thinks - it doesn’t exactly capture Ban, and he doubts any painting ever really can - but it is a decent attempt.
She smiles, and his own lips quirk up in response. She’s always looked better smiling, as rare a thing as it is nowadays, although they’ve been making some headway on that front.
I mean, she does smile, Astarion muses. Just not at -
The thought dies when he meets her eyes and sees hers locked onto his; hers are crinkled with amusement, and he feels his chest swell.
“Missed a button,” Ban says, nodding at him.
It takes a moment to register her words. His mind is back to when she had first smiled at him again - a genuine, honest-to-goodness smile, and not one of those manufactured ones she’s aimed at him since his ascension.
How she had sat at her desk, running her hands all over it. How she had looked around their room as if seeing it for the first time, and how she had turned to him and returned his grin with one of her own.
He’ll always remember that, he thinks. He’ll always have that to remind him that there is hope.
“Astarion.”
Her voice snaps him out of it, and he shifts awkwardly, hands moving to clasp behind his back as he straightens up.
“Yes, my love?”
“Your button. I’m not going to dinner in the upper city with your shirt askew like that,” she mutters.
“Or, you know, I could just unbutton everything and not go out at all,” Astarion counters. The laugh that rings out from her lips makes his heart flutter.
Ban shakes her head at him. “Maybe. Depends how nice you’ll be the rest of the day.”
“Darling,” he drawls. “I’ll be positively angelic.”
The painter clears his throat, annoyed that his subject is moving around too much. Astarion immediately shifts his attention towards him, eyes instantly glaring. Try doing that again.
Just as quickly he turns back to Ban, the hardness melting away as if it was never there at all. She’s back to holding the pose for the painter, and Astarion satisfies himself with observing the work.
There is still a long way to go, a distance he isn’t even sure he can traverse, but at least there is that.
A little hope.

Also while I'm thinking about tarot and therapy, I'd like to link yall to a book on the subject of using cartomancy in a therapy setting, which is how I've been approaching tarot for the past 10 years.
It can be a bit dry to read sometimes, but it's been really useful when it comes to recontextualizing what it means to read tarot for clients.
It's been awhile since I read it, honestly. I cant remember exactly what it says. But instead of cards being a message from the divine or whatever woo spin you want to put on it, I've learned that cards can be a lot of things.
-a third person in the room to open up conversation
-a mirror for the querent to project onto
-a tool to tell a story
-a riddle for the querent and reader to solve together
-a rubber duck for the querent to talk to to sort out the problems.
-an image to inspire memory recall.
-image and word association
Like this is a non-exhaustive list of things that tarot or any Oracle deck can do outside of the woo aspect. And incorporating woo in my context works fine because, as I've said before- I'm a tarot reader, not a therapist. But these are ways that cartomancy can be divorced from that mystical setting and used for more practical problem solving.
It also means that you can choose to make the tools more approachable for people who might have stigma against it. On a few occasions, I'll be out doing readings and someone will be shy but curious about tarot and I'll ask them 'hey, you look like you've got some questions- feel free to ask.' And more often than not the question is about what's involved, are we summoning things, is my soul in danger- Hollywood stuff.
And I tell them that its art on cardstock. It's no more dangerous than a movie ticket. You pick some images at random, I tell you what I think they mean, and you can tell me what you think they mean if you want.
I think it opens people up a little to have it phrased like that, in a more plain context of what it is.
Anyways, that went on a bit longer than I thought it should. That book really helped me figure out a reading style. Strong suggestion.

ATTENTION TO TF2 FANFIC ENJOYERS
ok so i was supposed to post this ages ago but i forgor like the retard i am but lets cut to the chase
this person, this girl right here, has written one of the best and most well structured tf2 fanfiction- i cant even call it a fanfiction- its MORE than that, it felt like i was reading a movie script, not even exaggerating. its so professional and like- like just so fuckin'- AAGH- lemme show you the description for both (yes BOTH) of her tf2 stories
MATTERS OF TIME AND FATE "Olivia Mann's life gets thrown upside down when she's suddenly orphaned. With no one else to care for her, she must share a house with the mercenaries her father was enemies with, but it's here that she's able to really experience what it's like to have a family."
so the first book is basically centred around that little girl in the tf2 main comics (grey mans daughter) and ends up living with the red team, miss Pauling and the admin. found family!!! yeey! it hits pretty hard to me because i kind relate to olivia in the story but enough about me. this is just packed with so much emotion and moments that either made me start crying or couldn't stop smiling till my cheeks hurt. we get some returning characters and some great original characters to! like seriously well done . honest 100/10, please read it, it is a complete book.
2. CHRONICALS OF LOVE AND WAR "Months after the events of the first story, the mercenaries are summoned back to Teufort for a new mission. Teufort has changed significantly since they left, though, and things take a turn for the bizarre when Olivia makes a strange new friend."
ok so this takes a BIG turn story wise, and goes into a more... "magical" turn not repetitive which is great with even MORE returning characters! i REALLY wanna say but they're all biiiiig spoilers so go find out for yerself! again, super well written, creative, and really enjoyable to read! its still ongoing so please be patient when she posts.
please please PLEASE check her out and read her stuff honest to god its so fucking good she's really talented.

I wake from my memory with a groan, I still remember that day, the fear in my mother's eyes as she realized that her daughter had magic, a very special and rare magic. I lift my palms together and summon the stars to my palms and a soft smile graces my face, I close my hands and make the stars disappear , I feel an old ache in my heart at the memory of my mother and how she had taught me in secret in our mountain home how to wield my magic and keep it hidden.
I stand up and head to the dresser to find something to wear when I find my outfit I wore when I fell into this world washed and clean, so i head to the bathroom and changed. As I finished braiding my hair out of my face there is a knock at the door and I hear Azriel's voice say '' I'm here to take you to Amren's apartment , she had a look last night and she found some books that may help you'' I feel some relief rising, I might be able to go home soon '' I'm coming'' as I open the door Azriel is waiting , he has a soft smile on his face , his hair looks like he has just been flying and I cant help but admire his face , how the morning light hits his eyes where I can see flecks of gold, he is looking at me to and I can a slight blush creep on my face as I look away. Azriel clears his throat '' We will have to fly to the apartment , will carry you-'' ''Fly?!'' I ask in shock ''Yes fly unless you want to walk 10 000 steps...'' I look at him my mouth slightly parted '' I think flying sounds better'' he gives me a crooked smile and leads me to a balcony ''alright I'm going to put one arm under your knees and the other around your back'' he look at me as if asking permission I give him a small nod as he lifts me in his arms and shots off into the sky.
I give off a scream as I wrap my arms around his neck and burry my face their, feel more then hear him laugh, '' it's alright I won't drop you, look'' I feel him say into my ear and as I slowly take my head away from his neck my breath taken from me, the city under us looks so beautiful , I don't know where to look. ''. The rest of the flight is quiet as I take in the city, it seems so peaceful that I wonder f we will have such peacefulness back home or if it still stands if Erawan has taken it already.
Azriel lands in front of a building and sets me down, and leads the way in. When we enter Amrens attic apartment and, it's a mess. there are things lying everywhere and the bed looks as if it hasn't been made since the dawn of time. ''It's always like this'' Azriel whispers in my ear, I look at him from the corner of my eye and give him a nervous huff of breath.
''So girl how is it that you came here to our world? '' I look at Amren who is sitting cross legged on a pillow by a low lying table ''We used wyrdkeys and then we jumped through a door and we started falling through different worlds and then I ended up falling into this world and now I'm here'' Amren looks at me and hums, '' well then make yourself usefull and start looking through these books , they are all I could find about world travel, and you can return to your master'' she says towards Azriel who only glares at her before leavng.
I look at the books lying on the table and pick one up that looks like one my mother had, as I start to read through it a memory comes up in my head.
''You don't understand the power this book holds, I can't just let you take.'' It was the first time in months that my father came to visit and this book had caught his attention '' I promise no one will read it but me Emalyn.'' my mother has her no nonsense face on and replies with a stern ''no'' my father was about to argue when he catches a glimpse of me from behind the door '' sneaking and listening to others conversations are we my little star'' he looks and me and opens his arms for me.
As I continue reading a chapter tittle catches my eye '' WORLD WALKING'' and as I read the chapter is talks about a fae Elder named Elias, who had the magic to open up a portal to other worlds, he was the one who had brought fae to other worlds, with this magic oh his, on the next page there was a picture of him opening a portal with these signs that looked almost like wyrd marks but also so very different. '' I think I might have found something, what do you know of this Elder Fae Elias? '' Amren looks up from her own book and says '' Elias is mostly a children's bed time story, that chapter you just read is the Adult version of the story'' '' could it not be true ? '' '' No, for many people have tried and drawn those marks of his and nothing has happened, as I've said it's a children's bed time story, I don't even remember bringing that book with me. Don't waste your time with that book''
As the day goes by we find nothing that would be able to help me home. The door opens and in comes Azriel '' Any luck ? '' he only gets two heads shaking as his answer. '' we should perhaps send a letter to Helion asking if he could not help us'' Amren says to Azriel, he nods and over a hand to me, I take it and stretch out. ''I will ask Rhys if he could send a letter to Helion tonight, good night Amren'' he says as he turns and I give the female a wave goodbye and head with Azriel to the House Of Wind.
We had dinner and all went to our own rooms for the night, as I sit in the bath I help but think back about the book and what my mother said about it. My mother had always said to me that I was never to touch any of those books she had in her bed room unless of an emergency, and when she died that night magic went away those books where no longer on her shelf and when I asked my father about them he said it was for 13 year old girls to worry about and I never had the nerve to ask about them again, though now I wonder if it was Erawan who had taken the books in hopes to use those marks instead of the wyrdkeys.
As I get out from the bath and get dressed I find myself walking to the kitchen for a snack but as I enter I see Azriel already there eating a cupcake '' oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to disturb your cupcake eating'' Azriel looks at me and says '' it's alright, you may join if you'd like'' he holds out a cupcake to me, I smile and take the cupcake from him ''Thank you'' we eat our cupcakes in a comfortable silence.
''You have some icing on your lip'' Azriel breaks the silence I wipe at my lips and look at him '' did I get it? '' he huffs a laugh and lifts his thumb to my mouth '' no here let me'' he swipes his thumb over my lip, his eyes are fixed on my lips as he continues to run his thumb along them. Hs eyes lift to mine as he leans in slowly, he brushes his lips against mine in question, my eyes flutter shut as I lean in , the kiss is soft and gentle, his hand goes and cups my jaw and I feel his tongue against my lips asking for permission, I grant him access and the kiss gets heated, he pulls back only to start a trail of kisses down my neck and as he kisses where my neck meets my shoulder I release a sound I've never made before and left m hands to his hair. He says against my skin ''you make such beautiful noises I can't wait to hear-'' then there was a sound of a plate crashing to the floor, I gasp , feeling embaressed to be caught in such position, I can feel the blush rising from my neck up to my face, my lips still swollen from the kissing.
It's Elain standing at the door a smashed plate at her feet ''Oh I'm so sorry for interrupting , I was just brining this plate back, I'll leave you two know'' as she leaves out the door the broken plate disappears. I turn back to Azriel, his lips are swollen just as mine, his hair messy from my hands '' it's getting late, we should go to bed, I have to get up early to help with training '' ''right yes of course , can I be present during training, I need to keep in shape '' Azriel looks at me blush evident on his cheek '' You are more then welcomes to join training, I'll get you early tomorrow before training so that you may get ready'' and with that he leaves the kitchen.
My dreams that night was filled with the story of Elias and his marks to travel worlds

Lmao he talked about himself and his CK deal for like 10 minutes before moving on to Jimin and Jimin only. after careful consideration, here is my official npmd song ranking + commentary
(VERY subject to change bc i actually love them all and i am so indecisive)
1. Nerdy Prudes Must Die
title song at first woah !! will branner and jon mattesons vocals are literally insane is this song. "IIIIIIM NOT A LOSER" forever engraved into my brain.
2. Hatchet Town
SUCH A BANGER. everything about this song is the perfect group number. it just flows soooo well and the harmony is so crisp. the bridge bit is not my fav but all the vocals and everything is just so good. also im a sucker for "all the characters are blaming eachother" songs 😵😵
3. Cool as I Think I Am (Reprise)
they are so sad and in love i love them sm. the harmony is so scrumptious and their voices blend so well. also i just love reprises. "You're not as cool as you think you are" "But you're as smart as I know you are" SHUT UP THEY ARE SO SPECIAL TO ME
4. Literal Monster
Apex Predator but better.
(no but fr didn't expect my ranking for this to be so high but it's just so good. highlights all the nerd characters and such a good chorus. the end section with max's "You wont defeat my kiiiiiind, A predator of my siiiiiize" + "You can watch as I riiiiiiise, I WILL CLAIM WHAT IS MINE" i think is what pushed this up so far those lines are just SO good)
5. The Summoning
mmmm everything about this song just sounds so yummy. the actual summoning bit in the beginning is actually so good with the singing over the chanting and whispering. all the lords in black literally ATE with this song and the like background ensemble vocals add so much. i think the only reason this wasn't higher than literal monster is that for some reason i literally CANT when a song has large chunks of dialogue in the middle of it. pokey being called a nasty boy stops me in my tracks every time i listen 💀. but the overall song absolutely makes up for the dialogue for me !!
6. Dirty Dudes Must Die
all the pervs literally running: 🏃🏃🏃
i mean i said i loved a reprise (kinda) ! angela girratana is just so good guys i love her sm. her voice is just so specific and it works SO well for this song. not only that but the last 30 secs of this song is just SO good. the ensemble bit with the "if i can finally be cool i will know that i'm not a loser" under grace’s "who will pray for you-" AND THEN RIGHT AFTER THAT COMING IN WITH THE "Darkness will spare my soulllll." i actually audibly gasped when watching this for the first time.
7. Cool as I Think I Am
everything about this song is just so endearing. joey richter just embodied this role so well. the little "Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh oh" love it sm. again another one of the bangers with the last little bit of soloist singing over the ensemble line, so good.
8. Bully the Bully
HEAR ME THE FUCK OUT OKAY. I LOVE THIS SONG. LIKE I LOVE IT. ITS SO CATCHY. ITS SILLY. THE HARMONIES ARE SO GOOD. I LOVE THE FIVE OF THEM SO MUCH. BUT. i physically cringe any time the "cool beans" bit happens. "bean school? excellent!" i cant. please. 😭😭
no but overall it's so catchy and without that little bit i think it would've been up at like 5 or 6. everyone has their little part and it's such a good song. also kinda a jumpscare when they talk about cutting off his nips and him shitting his pants but yk whatever
9. High School Is Killing Me
THIS IS HOW YOU DO A OPENING NUMBER. hopping right in with the "IM DEEEEEAD" its just so good. everyones voices just blend so well in this song and the chorus is SO PERFECT. again, the whole dialogue thing is not it for me. plus the whole problematic puppy twitter feed bit was not my fav. i think if it was just the first minute and a half of this song it would've been higher than cool as i think i am.
10. Dirty Girl
ok. where tf do i start. the vocals for this song are INCREDIBLE and angela and will's voices both have this like powerful belt with a little grit that complement each other SO well. and omg the "I'm-a, I'm-a, I'm a good girl" its just so perfect. BUT. listening this song is just like so uncomfortable 💀💀. after i hear "daddy needs a little of that dirty soup" i cannot move throughout my day normally please stop.
11. Just for Once
i actually feel so bad for putting this song so low because lauren lopez's vocals are SO incredible. its just not as catchy as the top ten and ruth's voice is a little too nasaly for me. this song would actually be a really good audition song methinks
12. Bury the Bully
ik some people really love this song and ik i just said i love the reprises (and upon first listen this song was like top 6.) but ! idk after obsessively relistening its just not up there for me. theres nothing bad about the song but in the words of pete "This is a lot." also when grace says "GIVE THOSE TO ME" at the very end of the song WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE REFERRING TO???
13. If I Loved You
I love this song it's so good it just doesn't compare to the reprise. mariah rose faith casillas actually ate up these vocals though.
14. The Best of You
giving disney channel original movies less popular-popular song (please tell me you understand what this means.) the band was really popping off with this one though.
15. Go Go Nighthawks!
chorus is good but overall not my fav, curt’s solo is sooooo good.

*summons you, but gets nervous cause ur attractive and infodumps to you instead of what i initially planned*
the ground where you drew the pentagram starts to glow, and fire starts to spawn around it. you look upon your ritual with excitement in your eyes, the summoning appears to have worked! soon youll get to meet an all powerful demon, one youve read about in all the old books that are strewn about the floor. you lick your lips, since you read this demon is known for its lustful nature, youre very excited to do certain- things with her. what will you make her do first, you wonder? maybe youll make her get on her knees and use her throat, mke her choke and gag until she cant breathe... maybe youll take her to the nearest bed and rail her brains out... ohh the options are endless, and the thoughts are all running rampant through your head. finally after a minute or so, a shadowy figure starts to rise out of the pentagram, and it is accompanied by a gust of black smoke billowing out from the center. you are hit with a flash of light, blinding you, that forces you to look away. after a second the light disperses, and you look up anxiously to see the sexiest, most beautiful woman you have ever laid eyes on. her skin is red, her body is to die for and she is wearing a skimpy little outfit. she has a set of absolutely gorgeous horns, that must add at least 7 inches to her total height. she makes you seem so small and weak just looking upon her, you start to get nervous that maybe she'll be the one using you. she looks around the room with curiosity, before finally setting her gaze on you. she opens her mouth to speak and her voice is like an angels, ironically.
"well well well. another mortal. let me guess, you want something from me dont you?" she seems annoyed slightly. "i was in the middle of something important you know. so. what is it?"
"i uh um please um can we- uh" you stutter.
"spit it out human. i dont have all day." she says in a commanding tone.
"um well you see i- i want to- uh well did you know that in the original banjo kazooie game theres only 5 colors of jinjos but in the second game there are 10 colors and the grey ones are extinct?"
she looks confused. "...what? what are you talking about?"
you anxiously let out another tidbit of autistic infodumping. "in banjo kazooie when you use the mumbo transformations sometimes he'll turn you into a washing machine and joke about how he's going to wash his clothes with you..."
"huh wow. thats quite interesting actually. its cute how anxious you are cutie. wanna have sex?"
and then you get to fuck a hot autistic demon girl because you got anxious and started infodumping. love wins!!!!

So I figured I would give my idea on how the rest of this volume will go and how it will lead into vol 10.
Jaune and WBY will be shown looking for Ruby. And its going to Parallel the Cat where they were distracted by shinning bits and bobs for Jaune its doing heroic deeds. All of the Afterins know him and respect him. And Jaune doesnt notice because its become so ingrained in him.
we are going to cut to Ruby who is once again confronted by the Blacksmith. She is once again going to try to call Ruby but this time Little reaches out. Little is able to reach both Ruby and the blacksmith and get them to open up and yes the blacksmith IS Alyx.
Alyx was going to sacrifice Lewis with LOTS of parallels to Cinder in that room before her fight with Rhodes. But at the last minute Lewis who was kind smiled at his sister and said it was okay. Alyx then sacrificed herself sending her brother home and taking the position of Blacksmith. That is why the book is written like it is. Lewis was honoring his sister with Love compassion and gratitude with a side of guilt and that is why he wrote himself out.
All of this will remind Ruby of the little things that she has forgotten about. The small cherished things that make life worth living. And will help her with Little and Alyx's help come out of her funk.
She will then go on to recreate the Red trailer against Jabberwalks and will decimate them. She will eventually get in a bad spot simply because of Numbers. Then Jaune and WBY will come in and help. The fight is ON.
After the fight Alyx will show up and thank them moving them to the tree. She will open the way and let them go home as this is said though Neo will stab her from behind having now come to personally take her revenge. This will also noticably damage the tree as Alyx IS the tree. The fight is VICIOUS with Neo summoning Jabbers to keep everyone busy as she duels Ruby.
Neo gets the upper hand and goes for the Kill but Jaune rushes in and takes it for her. Ruby then kills neo.
Jaune is laying there dying when Alyx comes over and apologizes for all she has done. Jaune though forgives her. Alyx is weak and dying she needs to make a new tree master and she wants to save Jaune but she cant do either she is that weak. Little then offers herself up as the tree master. Its not enough but it gives Alyx an idea she asks all the Afterins for help to save the rusted knight.
The Afterins offer their strength not a lot for each but collectively its a LOT. It forms a Picture book of Jaune's heroic deeds bound in green with a red ribbon keeping it closed. Alyx then uses it to remake Jaune and Little.
Little curls up and takes the shape of a seed which slips into the ground before a new sapling forms. Jaune will become engulfed in rust before it breaks away revealing vol 8 Jaune.
Little will come out looking like Mrs. Brisby from the secret of Nimh. Jaune will come to and it will be revealed that he has all his memories up to the clockwork orange but after that it becomes more like a fever dream.
Alyx will then reveal that she no longer has the strength to send them home and Little is still too young to do it either. That is when Jaune recalls the clockwork orange and they come up with the plan to use it and go back in time. Alyx gives them the book which is mostly spent but still has some of the strength and says to give it to her old self she will understand.
So they go and do that plucking the orange and when they see the comets of their past selves landing going back into the sky destroying the orange to prevent a paradox. They then go to the tree by calling out to Alyx using the book.
Alyx places her hand on the book and seems to breathe it in before holding a finger to her lips and opening the way for RWBY and Jaune. They go through the portal.
When they stumble out they are in beacon specifically during vol 3 timeline. That is where the volume ends.
The stinger shows Alyx taking the book to her forge and smithing it. When she steps back we see its Little on her forge.
I strongly suspect due to the time travel this is how we are going to answer the lingering questions behind vol 3 such as what happened on the tower and so forth which CRWBY has said we will get answers to eventually.
I also think this is how they are going to save Pyrrha. Then do the long road to vol 8 avoiding crossing paths with their old selves with the exception of vol 6 where the Red Haired Woman was actually Pyrrha in disguise. And then at vol 10s end we will see them coming to save everyone during that sandstorm.

Tiphares is...... sad. honestly LOL one of my saddest ocs that i have which is rly saying smth i have a habit of writing tragedy and he's pretty up there in the top 10.
in my setting ive adapted the same idea from the last unicorn in that, forests are kept alive by the unicorns that live in them, and Tiphares had a forest in the southern continent which is the dark continent Voidus Lyr, his forest isnt exactly a traditional one its not green and eternal spring but it was alive, usually covered in ice and snow, dark and still pretty. it was a good place for the kinds of creatures living in it.
Eventually, Tiphares was hunted by mortals, he was chased out of his forest into demon territory to corner him so they could kill him and possibly sell his horn and blood and whatever else is profitable from a unicorn body, and he SADLY was the first unicorn to actually kill someone, and because of this he lost his ability to heal and maintain his forest, and it eventually died. (along with a lot of the residents inside of it save for a small number that resisted curses and kept their little patch of forest cleansed, or some that escaped to different countries)
BECAUSE OF THIS Tiphares fell into a deep despair, he came across the whispering of an old god that was offering his power back if he did him favors and Tiphares took the deal. He summoned a false hydra for the god that in the future also spread a sickness across the entire continent that in current time is still killing mass amounts of people and causing death across the entire land. When he learned what he did and that his powers never returned Tiphares had tried to die by his own hand but unfortunately unicorns are one of the few creatures that are truly immortal :( so he lives with a lot of guilt and sadness in his life. He cant heal anything, and his magic only kills the nature around him when his emotions get bad enough.
ITS NOT GOING TO BE A BAD END FOR HIM THOUGH I THINK he does have a partner that loves him very much that he reconnected with from a long time ago, he hadnt seem him since they were much younger but since feeling unconditional love from his old friend again he's starting to feel his natural magic coming back in tiny amounts. No healing but he can use little bits of ice magic again.
