Actually originally Dick Grayson had been depicted as in his like 20s for a while before he became Nightwing, Nightwing wasn't meant to age Dick up, it was a reaction to the fact that he already had because other people wanted Robin to be a child.

Sorry should of made it clear I was talking about like most common canon since dcs always been screwy with ages I'm also pretty sure it's the current Canon that dick became Nightwing at about 18/19 and that he's been Nightwing for about 10 years

This is a complaint/praise of how the story seems to play out. But I can’t believe we get Doki Doki Lit Club as a Final Battle Resolution.

Officially Translated Rhodes Island's Records of Originium: Rhine Lab: (Offical Website)

A canon manhua centered around the circumstances that lead to Silence falling out with Saria and joining Rhodes Island with Ifrit, as well as Ifrit's attempt to save a dying infected stowaway on the landship. Essential reading for understanding the Rhine Lab storyline and characters - read it right after Mansfield! One of the characters, Darya, is mentioned in both Ifrit's module and briefly in Lone Trail.

Rhodes Island's Records of Originium: Blacksteel: (Official Source)

A short story focusing on the lives of the Blacksteel operators aboard the landship. While it often gets overshadowed by the Rhine Lab manga which is bigger in scope, this is a great read especially if you're interested in Franka or Liskarm.

Rhodes Kitchen -TIDBITS-: (Official Source)

An anthology story related to the cuisine that's important to a variety of operators. While it might seem unassuming, the art is gorgeous and it's really well-written. I particularly recommend the Goldenglow (Chapter 4) and Rosa (Chapter 5) chapters.

As the title says, a series of non-canon anthology stories regarding the cast of Rhodes' Island! Note that the link provided only has complete translations up to Volume 4 (and Vol. 4 is missing Ch. 7), and most of the chapters avaliable after that point were MTL'd, so I can't vouch for their accuracy. Prelude Suite: Unrestrained Play: (Wiki)

Unfortunately, I can't find a full translation for this one - an epilogue to Hortus De Esscapismo focusing on Arturia's background. Of course, major spoilers for Hortus apply - if you can find a full translation yourself.

With Fable smp ending having been annouced I see many people asking "What will happen afterwards" and "What do we do afterwards" and I always get reminded by it that I'm 'one of the older mcyt fans' (I'm 21). And that for many people it's the first time a media like this comes to an end.

To those people I would like to say. "The Cast are friends outside of their characters. There are going to be and even are currently new and other projects like this with them. They might be telling a different story but a good one. And there are so many other storys out there for you to find and enjoy."

Huge Announcement from PrettyBusy! 1.10

First, this is quite long btw, if you'd like to read it for yourself please look on their website! They haven't uploaded it on their social medias just yet, but also check WHB Updates on twt in case I miss anything. I'm really only going to highlight the stuff I care about and wish to speak on! But overall there's a lot they're changing up and giving us in the future so this shows promise.

So! I like the timing of their pacing of releasing new chapters. I want them to take their time, the writers especially to give us some good stuff to read because I highly doubt they're gonna change the amount of battles between each story node. .-. And if they do then great!

They do give some info about friend systems (getting materials and items by having friends etc.) the Minhyeok mini game and additional chats being added.

So it seems here that we will get to battle the angels for additional items. They say you can loot them from their realms...so I wonder how this is going to go! Though it sounds like these battles are going to be harder than usual so make sure to beef up your teams/cards since the conditions need to be met.

But yay birthday stuff! I'm hoping they do it before my birthday date which is later in that month...because otherwise I'd have to wait until next year :(

Also they say that we will get to decorate the lobby with a single theme, icon packages will be added in the future, but they will give us icons for all the devils for the ones we have it sounds like.

Stickers of Ppyong are rewarded, they say 'line' so it makes me think of the messaging service LINE but I'm not sure if that's what they mean.

Now here's the big one

So now when we hit the pity threshold we will be able to select the character we want instead of just hoping we get whichever one we want. This is a big thumbs up from me because I think if ppl are throwing in that much money they should get what they want.

Now to address the 500 monthly Solomon Seals. They are letting us collect this by attendance and quests. I'm fine with that because I already do this with the Solomon Tears. I did peep some complaints (very few though) that didn't like the fact that they had to do stuff in order to get it. Come on now guys, you didn't think they were just gonna give us paid currency for free each month. Even I know better.

AND the Pancake Shop change. This one I am a bit worried about simply because what they highlighted sounds like it may or may not turn out to be what we expected in terms of spending and using our Pancakes to get items/characters we want. Also peep that in the future when we pull, when we get duplicates of Devils and cash them in for currency it will reward us with Gold and Tomes for the lower grade, and Nightmare Pancakes for the higher grade devils.

They did say that they are OPEN to criticism once the shop releases, so be ready to email them if this new Pancake system does not work for you. And a quick thing about the Nightmare Pass is that they did listen that other countries have to pay much more in pricing for things like this so they are open to lowering the price in the future. But this statement made me laugh ->

idk about any of you, but this read to me as "Yeah I'm tired of ya'll asking us for stuff when we do so much"

Like aight PB I hear you...I see you... (btw this isn't meant to be negative, I know very well what they mean)

So for Enviroment Changes (I'm assuming for gameplay) here are the highlights

-Reducing the Ultimate scenes by half (meaning it will be on the screen less during battle) -adding illustrations from past events into the album -boss skill window (idk who asked for this but cool) -faster annoucements about new characters and release schedules

So for January no new characters (bummer, but I understand) They say they are doing this because it takes them about 2-3 weeks to get the characters approved or any additional events and stories approved before they can confidently announce when we will see them.

It is crucial that we as players give them grace on this because given the nature of the game they have to jump through a lot of damn hoops to get things approved and the industry is realllllyyyy against NSFW stuff lately especially the higher up the ladder folks and will reject just about anything they don't like. I've seen people literally have to pull projects because the big man said "Nah not in this house" But PB is trying and that's what counts. They at least were transparent here that they don't want us to get our hopes up until things are certain.

And just a little message from them. Reminding us that they are a small production crew and that they are trying their best with all the resources they have at hand.

We all may have our thoughts about how they run things and it's natural because we're human, but the devs are at least listening and showing that they are willing to change and work around our needs the best they can for a better gaming experience. Now I do forsee some stuff is gonna piss us off, but that's a given. All we can do is give them feedback when it's due!!

Suprised that you are still alive. The Senjus pershed some time ago and seeing a descendet and more or less a last Senju, brought a smile to her. She infact even decided to leave you some Gift, a house in the Capital and she even made a offical Nation annoucement that Senju has returned, who were once her right hand and who fought in the war both fighting for her and Makoto.

Sangonomiya Kokomi:

Same as Ayaka, would beg you to join their side against the Vision hunt degree.She would find you interesting, asking how your powers work and how strong you are, she would be so amazed and even, a human such as you comparable to a Archon? Fascination, would study about you and your abilities to her best knowledge and would try her best getting you on side.

Gorou:

Would show fear and respect at the same time, espcialy if you were a General, Fighter or whatever. Your power in his eyes Show your Authority, would probably make sure not to get on your bad side. Would love to spend time with you and share stratigic combat capabilties, a amazed boy very eagerly and interested to learn about you and your Clan, the Senjus.

fun fact: officially, ci flower isn't the same character/entity as v4flower- and this has been confirmed by her companies several times now. on her official voisona character page you can find this little blurb...

...that says she's a new flower from a parallel world! so technically flower, but also ...not.

(which really isn't much of a surprise- the majority of cevios are representatives/dopplegangers of pre-existing fictional characters or virtual likenesses. for a cevio, I think ci flower might be the first to be based specifically on a vocaloid, rather than being a direct extension/continuation ala yukari and ia.)

the "what if" theme is assumedly why her design has always looked so different from vflower since the start (though I would argue that she has a lot of shared design motifs on close inspection, its just leans more to flower's V3 and talk designs than her V4). its also why she has a planetary motif/logo.

this is from an interview with her devs, source here. (its an entirely free article but it is in japanese. that last sentence should say "previous vflower designs", deepL botched that part, but the rest is accurate)

ci flower gets a lot of disdain for not being "vflower enough" but that's kinda... her entire point. she's an "au" flower so she is intended to be different. while you can intepret her however you like (use her as vflower continued or her sister or her reincarnation or her clone or whatever you want for your art lol) I feel like the general lack of understanding towards her concept/theme is why most people don't even bother to give her design, let alone her voice, a chance. vflower is still being sold and is extremely popular among producers (I do not forsee her going the way of piko anytime soon). even ci flower's official twitter has stated that she wants them both to be loved, including the differences!

its important to note that ci flower is being handled by a different company all-together, incs toenter (the same agency that supercell and honeyworks are under! incs also helped out with miku fes'24 spring and seemingly are business partners with crypton).

as for vflower's company, gynoid's current state is ??? ...what we know about them lately in regards to flower is that they apparently restructured their entire company and also fired the original development team behind her and the meikas. then, sometime after, they licensed out ci flower's rights to incs (who until this point, had never been publicly involved with ci flower's release, gynoid even wiped all their old articles about her development from their website). incs then released her... three years from initial annoucement.

I don't think its entirely unreasonable to believe that the reason ci flower is a "spin-off" is because of all the development hell her release went through. 🫠

The World-building of Wakanda: Black Panther and Afrofuturism

I've been revisiting the Wakanda Syllabus that an educator associate of mine Dr. Walter Greason put together when the first Black Panther movie came out, and also reviewing old discussions about the significance of that era as a cultural moment and movement at the same time.

The fact that I still write Black Panther fanfics is a testement to the love I have for that fandom and its importance to Afrofuturism and Black Diaspora Futurism. I'm always happy when I see other Black writers out here still churning out plots and series fics because it is a digital archive for how we perceive a fictional future where as Killmonger once annouced "We're on top."

These works are important and specifically center the Black experience. And we don't have to fit our characters inside of white story spaces where we are usually the sidekick or fetish characters. I had an interesting talk with a friend of a friend and she wanted to argue that Black characters in the MCU who were not in the Black Panther/Wakanda Forever films should be included in the discussions of Afrofuturism, and I said they didn't belong in it fully because those characters are not centering Black people's futures. They center the non-Black white leads and their American/American adjacent interests (I'm talking about War Machine, Nick Fury, Sam Wilson, Valkyrie etc). It was a good back and forth because I am always questioning how Black people can build Black solidarity/communities by always working in white spaces in the service of white global agendas.

Writing Killmonger's journey (and his parents) for over six years (Lawd six years!!!!) with numerous books has taught me a lot about my role in preserving our fandom legacy as Black fanfiction writers and as readers. Afrofuturism has allowed me to explore not only Black Liberation, but Black Queerness, ATR's (African Traditional Religions), Black Matriarchy and Black Patriarchy. I've written about things I love and participate in, and also got to play pretend like I'm a kid again playing with my Barbie dolls and action figures. Black sex. Black music. Black art. Black philosophy. Blackety Black and unapologetic.

All this to say that I hope others out there like me keep writing and reading and reblogging these free little digital seeds we are planting that will truly blossom in the future when others discover our work. I know many Black writers lament that we don't get the same traction or BNF notoriety that white writers do. However, there is joy and divine calling when one simply sits and writes a Black Panther tale to give to other Black people for free all over the world. It still boggles my mind that there are people who have read my stories for years and they live on the other side of the world. People I will probably never meet, but they read and sometimes leave sweet comments that feed me to keep going.

Keep writing y'all. Keep reading and sharing and creating. You are making Afrofuturism fanfiction that is a time capsule for Black folks who aren't even here yet. Academics are secretly reading your stuff and using it to formulate academic studies on a fictional world ! Your Black Panther creations are beautiful no matter where you live on the planet!

You and your boyfriend Haechan got nintendo switches together and he's recently been obessed with Mario kart and you ,being his s/o , ooobviously have to play it with him.

The only problem is, you're absolutely terrible at it so he has to teach you how to play before he can even allow you to play with him and his friends (Johnny, Jisung and Jeno). You have no interest in playing with his gaming squad who's names all suspiciously begin with the letter J. But the main driving force which got you sitting on his bed with the controler( that he bought for you for his house) in hand was the determination to beat him after you came 12th (last place) out of him and all the cpus (basically computer players, you play against but theyre not actual people).

Instead of him explaining to you all the controls and the game, he decided that the best way for you to learn was to throw you into the deepend on the fastest race mode with cpus. You two were going to play 12 matches, with the last one predetermined by Hyuck as 'rainbow road' (every mario kart players worst nightmare). You begin to choose your characters and haechan chooses Bowser because you said he looks ugly and scary. You choose Rosalina (because you have taste of course) and she was one of the only human characters available 😭😭

Everyone speeds off ahead of you leaving you in last place, in the first 5 seconds

'THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENCE WHAT' You exclaim already ready to quit the game, he leans over you to move your thumb over the A button on the right side of the controller and explains that you have to hold down A when it says 2! to in order to accelerate.

Out of rage you restart the game and you're back to the begining, but now you have that trick up your sleeve, nothing can stop you! 3, 2, you audibly press A, 1, GO! Now you're zooming off with everyone else and a victorious grin displays itself on your pretty face knocking Haechan from 1st to third cuz he's lowkey whipped for you as you chaotically purposefully bash into other cpus, you were 8th place making your way to the top ' I'm coming for you' you annouce which he just scoffs in reply.

A few miles ahead, there are these floating boxes which you avoid and run over the speed up as you think that they were something bad, only to see Haechan shoot right through it. Regardless, you were ahead of him. 'What's that' you ask as you see the wheel of different powerups spin at the top of his screen, it lands on a red shell 'wanna find out?' 'Go on then' you reply unimpressed. He makes his way over to you and throws the red shell which follows your kart until it hits your character and stops you in your tracks, taking you down four ranks in the leaderboard as the other players unnessicarily throttle themselves into your helpless character. 'WHAT WAS THAT FOR!' 'DID YOU NOT WANT TO SEE WHAT IT WAS' you roll your eyes but start grinning cheekily as you just recieved your powerup which was a green shell, you somehow caught up to him and threw it at his character only for it to bounce right off of a random object that was apart of the map and hit a player behind you. Your face filled with horror and dissapointment 'What the fuck was that' 'green shells go anywhere, only red shells target the person directly infront of you. ' 'all of these rules are pissing me off, what is this game' you say rolling your eyes in frustration while leaning your whole body into the screen to focus.

Haechan is back at first place and you hear an almost whistle noise as his character finishes the 3rd, final lap of that course, leaving you dumbfounded as bowser does a disgusting celebration animation around the track that Haechan replicates to get a reaction out of you. Which you retort by pushing his face away from you and starting the next match.

9 lost matches later, you've given up on winning through skill, you're willing to anything, absolutely anything to beat this jerk. You have to play dirty, super dirty. So, when the game starts, you ready one of Haechans pillows in your hand. 3! You smack him across the face with the fluffy pillow and almost like a movie feathers come out You quickly grab your controller and hold the A button to accelerate at 2!, 1! Haechan presses accelerate too late at GO! He's left in your dust, smoke coming out of his engine as he's stationary for 2 seconds for accelerating to late meanwhile, you're in steady 3th place. 'WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM' you stick your tongue out as you tokyo drift around the corner and secure 2rd place.

Climbing the ranks, you throw a red shell atthe cpu who was in 1st place making you! FIRST PLACE! With only a few seconds before your beautiful victory which was only 10 races late, this being your 11th. As the finish line is in sight, you're thinking about the funny annoying victory line you're going to scream in his face; 'maybe you could be better than me one day' no 'I was only warming up' no 'you're lucky I let you win, the first 10 matches'; when he lets out a small, evil chuckle. That wasn't a good sign, not from Hyuck.

He was in 2nd place right behind you and hadn't used his powerup from his mystery box yet, you just assumed it was something useless like a banana peel or something until, just as you're about to cross the finish line, you're character has this flying blue thing over her head and a loud warning siren is ringing through the speakers until a large blue cloud of an explosion engulfs your screen and the wicked laugh haechan had been hiding comes out in full fury. 'LEE HAECHAN' He's wiping a tear away from his eye as Bowser crosses the finish line doing that annoying animation which he soon copies in your face, pissing you off even further. 'Blue shells fly straight to the 1st person in the race regardless of what rank you are in! Har har har' he says in a mocking tone.

Consumed with genuine anger, you take it out on him by repeatedly hitting him with the pillow that was previously fired at his face, standing on your knees as he's curled up in a ball before finding his feet and grabbing another pillow, which basically turns into a pillow fight between the two of you. You grab two pillows and tightly shut your eyes as you windmill hit Haechan picturing bowser as you do so only until you notice you're not landing any hits. You squint your eye to see only a glimpse of him leaping at you with his arms reaching your middle until your head hits his bed. You're laying on your back with haechan ontop of you 'I didn't realise you'd actually get mad.' He says as he attempts to place wet kisses on your cheeks while you try to push him away 'GROSS HAECHAN' was all you could make out between your giggles, you couldn't be mad at him. "I'm sorrrrrrry" he coos "sorry for what" "sorry for being better at you in mario kart!" He beams as he starts doing bowsers dance again, recieving another pillow to the face.

UPDATE hey everyone i know i said ill upload a video on the owl house debunking series which will take a while cause of new software, but take heed there's a lot in store coming. so as POC, who does cosplay and drag, I do feel luz as a character had so many flaws & layers as a afro latina to be called out on due to her personality. Shes a Character who wanted to carry so much emotional baggage as a girl growing up without a father dying, having no friends due to her extroverted odd behavior of how she takes no boundaries with how people will see or interpret it as, I for one a person of autism adhd growing up I had a caring mother who told me to act a certain way to not get in trouble cause of the black skin I'm in which I was so docile yet open minded, however never having friends myself.

it hurts to know luz as a character could've gone a lot further with her character as a POC. I felt the staff ( who are all white) failed her to a degree that they tried to layer her shortcomings and troublemaking with being a Mary Sue to an extent, yes I know she wants to do good for everyone however due to wanting to be a bag lady, it became fraudulent how the show awards her attitude and lying, we as fans could've had such a great person had she be written by someone of Afro Latina or a poc staff cause this isn’t the first time Disney has failed to give A good portrayal of POC characters in a non-stereotypical sense, let’s be real. Also I feel luz Batista which is the self insert based on Luz, we never got to see her in interviews, post hoots or to be shown in the spotlight on occasions could’ve fleshed out more on the owl house staff part.

this is so annoying ; as if i want to know more about you bore of a bunch. anyways, i suppose i'm here to announce something called a meme weekend. such a cringe-fest of a name, but whatever, apparently nothing i put on the table is good enough for the admins. alas, we are stuck with this potential snooze fest. the rules for this stupid thing is under the cut; follow them or i'll make sure the next tabloids aren't as nice as they have been.

memes will be accepted from friday, february 23 - sunday, february 26 starting at 12pm est / 6pm cet. (admins will make sure to make an annoucement on the main or via discord at this time).
