So, so, so, SO many people miss the point of the walten files and it's genuinely saddening, because it is such a delicate story hidden behind horror. What makes the walten files stand out from the rest of the big analog webseries out there is the fact that it's so far the only one that is both horror and drama in genre. The only other online indie horror projects that I've seen put focus on placing actual depth into characters so far is welcome home and the tanji virus/oracle project duology (a duology that I highly recommend people to watch, it deserves more recognition).

Martin has said that there's more to the characters than meets the eye, with bunnyfarm specifically noting that "this is a story about broken people, beautiful people"

This is probably why most theories people make are doomed to fail from my point of view. Martin doesn't seem to be particularly interested in creating an epic horror that ends in a thrilling battle or to create the "most SHOCKING, SCARY analog horror ever?!?!" as random reaction channels title their videos as. Maybe this is why Martin deviated from the original format. The walten files 4, despite being 36 minutes long, did not add too many answers to the mystery. Instead, there was a perfect balance of giving more context as well as well as giving more character to pre-existing characters, such as suzan, ed and molly, the antagonist (whoever he is), felix, jack and charles. All that through dialogue and actual cinematographic scenes. The story wants you to take personality and psychology into account when theorizing as well.

I won't post all my theories, but now that we have 4 out, I'll give my two cents on the "who or what is bon" mystery, based on a mix of character analysis and hints given throughout the episodes, site, hidden media and martin's statements.

I never believed the "felix killed and placed jack into bon" theory as someone who discovered the series after bunnyfarm's release. Felix is a coward, self centered, is irresponsible and refuses to acknowledge his issues. And people mistakenly interpret that as "evil capitalist who only cares about his hide". I won't analyze felix (at least not today), because so far he is the one character who we have the most context about his inner psychology and woo boi, there's a LOT of issues this guy has, but point I am trying to make is that he doesn't seem like the type to kill jack because, believe it or not, from what I can gather, he'd never kill a person on purpose.

The only possible scenario I can see the "felix put jack in bon" theory being true is if jack attacked felix after learning of the kids, so felix accidentally killed him in self defense.

Felix is shown to be alive in 1981, so it's unlikely it is him being bon either. (funnily enough, if that wasn't revealed, I'd think him being bon as a good theory, something that, yet again, I'll probably touch upon a future dissection of his character)

The only two scenarios I can think of is a) either jack put himself, either on purpose, or accidentally in bon, b) bon is a third party or c) jack is bon, but someone else placed him in

Out of these three theories, I believe a) is the least probable, with c) being second in place. It is possible jack got depressed to the point of doing something this intense, however it was implied in the Relocation project and the findjackwalten site that he is very likely alive. Here I am mostly going on hunch, but I don't think martin would choose the "Man loses family, ends up depressed and then a vengeful insane spirit" route. I did say above that I believe felix to more more likely to fit that role of "person going mad from mental stress", but I actually believe that he'd be more likely to snap, considering his mental stability after the crash. Also I don't see how jack could accidentally get into bon.

I honestly think both were red herrings from the very start of the series. In fact, walten files 4 pretty much added the possibility that they have nothing to do with the murders (excluding ed and molly*), aside from felix being heavily hinted to have tried covering up the bon incidents instead of reporting them like a normal, law abiding, responsible citizen.

Cyberfun Tech episode pretty much revealed to us that the "bon is just a malfunctioning animatronic" theory is not true, as bon clearly has something controlling it. So I can only see the above theories being correct.

This places the c) theory as most believable. The issue is who is the third party. People have speculated it is the original ceo of cyberfun tech or a demon. I'd personally lean towards the ceo, a demon would be too random for a story that focuses so much on personal strife. And since I am part of the "jack is alive" theorizers, I also don't believe the "manifestation of jack's anger" theory. Something that keeps bugging me also is why did the person who honked at felix during the car crash didn't report anything, it's weird, as if someone saw the perfect opportunity to use felix as a scapegoat for the murders. Maybe bon has an accomplice?

I'm stepping into tinfoil shadow government territory here though lmao

*I know I am being nitpicky here, call me a law nerd all you know, but I especially get frustrated when people throw around heavy words without knowing their terminology, as that can have pretty bad consequences when applicable to real people. Another small fun fact just for extra trivia knowledge: Age of consent doesn't always mean legal, if you're a minor, please protect yourself. Back on topic, no, what felix did was not murder. It's a shitty, also fairly common douchy behavior in my country called "causing death through driving under the influence of alcohol". Here's the difference:

I find it weird how Todd is a child abuser, Zlatko experiments on androids and turns them into monstrosities, Perkins betrays and kills Markus but yet Gavin is considered the worst person because he *checks list* doesn't consider androids alive (like almost everyone else in the game at that point) and doesn't trust Connor.

Among those you mention, Gav is by far the most justified. Yet I wanna clear some things up here bc I'm not a hypocrite.

1.) Todd -- who doesn't think androids are alive -- is an android child abuser.

"You don't want anything, you're just a goddamn piece of plastic." - Todd Williams

It's still phcked up that he's abusing/can kill something that resembles a kid to the T, but it's important to make that distinction. We see no proof of him abusing a human child (...even though it can be theorized bc his wife took their kid and left.)

Abusing an android kid is just as bad as abusing a human kid -- we know this -- but Todd doesn't see it that way, so that describes/partly justifies his reasoning. There's no such thing as 'abusing' a machine and that's how Todd sees it.

A lot of ppl are also (wrongly) infantilizing Con, so I'm not surprised that they consider Gav's bad treatment of Con worse than Todd's bad treatment of Alice who is a literal kid. Seems like most of them don't even care about Alice/kids in the 1st place (...and that says everything you need to know about these POS'.)

Mistreating a kid (Alice) is way more abhorrent than mistreating a grown-ass adult (Con.) Alice is also passive while Con often instigates conflict. So Todd is way worse than Gav by that alone.

2.) Zlatko -- who is aware androids are alive -- thinks he's doing them a favor.

"Believe me, you’re better off being erased and feeling nothing… No more pain… No more hopes dashed… I almost envy you." - Zlatko Andronikov

He's the worst among those four, but this is again a scenario where you need to see the situation from his perspective. Yet he knows they're alive/capable of emotions and that makes him a million times worse than Gav.

3.) Perkins -- who is aware androids are alive -- is doing his job.

"That android… [North] You seem to really care about her… You don't want her to die, do you?" - Richard Perkins

...and if the lover status isn't there

"You could have what you've always dreamed of." - Richard Perkins

In Perkins' eyes, it's about national security. Androids have killed humans (Partners/Stormy Night/Broken -- even if Markus didn't actually kill Leo or Carl, that's what the public thinks -- Zlatko/Spare Parts/etc. too many chapters to mention,) destroyed public property (Capitol Park,) hijacked media (The Stratford Tower,) demonstrated illegally (Freedom March,) etc. Not to mention that androids are superior to humans in every way and nothing tells Perkins that they won't eventually get violent if taking the peaceful route.

Yet his knowing androids feel makes him (as Zlatko) a million times worse than Gav.

Meaning Gav doesn't think they're alive (unlike Zlatko and Perkins.)

Gav isn't the only character I (partly) defend on shit like this. I just defend the others 'less' bc 1.) they're worse, and 2.) they don't get nearly as much undeserved vitriol as Gav does. Something that's legitimately insane bc, again, they're way worse by a longshot and I'll explain why down below.

Con stans (fandom majority) are thinking emotionally instead of logically

ppl hate/envy Gav bc he's a conventionally attractive white man (you don't see a lot of Todd, Perkins, Zlatko, Leo, and Allen fans even if there are a minuscule few bc they're not conventionally attractive)

Funny that we don't see a lot of hate for Amanda. An AI or not, she's the worst influence in Con's life with her emotional manipulation. Something way worse than physical abuse. I wonder why... (not really bc *cough* you apparently can't say anything bad about a black woman without being racist/misogynistic *cough*) Ofc there are some ppl that aren't afraid to speak up against her, but it's nothing compared to the shit Gav gets.

It's also why I'm not talking about North often bc the majority are (rightfully) defending her already. My voice isn't needed there. Every single person -- other than me, in my experience -- who defends Gav is being spinelessly backhanded about it.

Defending someone doesn't mean you agree with them or condone their actions. It's simply proof that one has the empathy/critical thinking skills to understand their point of view. Something lacking nowadays.

Cygnus: So. Are we finally going to head over there and help them?

Black Star: Not yet. There's always a chance-

Cygnus: Fuck your chances! He can't get out of there, and Ruin's bringing moon! It's going to die idiot! You said we were-

Blackstar: I said we would help when they're really wasn't any other chances! It's not like he's being harmed-

Cygnus: Harmed! Here I thought you were the soppy fella! He's already been harmed enough by his brain or whatever!

Black Star: He still has a chance, ruin wanted to help-

Cygnus: What type of opinion is that blasted British idiot has that will change moon's mind! Nothing stops him from coating his hands in blood or oil!

Black Star: We have to wait!

Cygnus: If we wait any longer he could die!

Black Star: And there's also a chance things can turn around! Maybe this is the version of us that actually gets a happy ending.

Cygnus: Don't kid yourself. Every iteration of us has died by moon's hands, or by his plans! Not once has he ever regretted it!

Blackstar: Earth could still-

Cygnus: Earth doesn't know anything! Moon's too much of a defensive coward to tell her of his plans of murder!

Black Star: Sun's been thinking it through-

Cygnus: Sun isn't going to fight his brother! He's just as much of a coward!

Black Star: He's still been speaking out more-

Cygnus: After the fact!

Black Star: Look we can't just take him! I can teleport in and out of there in seconds, I'm not going to let him die! This comes out minutes before anyways for us. It's not like I won't have a chance.

Cygnus: And you want him to live through that! To know that he was seconds before being scrapped to pieces!

Black Star: He won't be dead.

Cygnus: He won't be alive!

Antares: Look, Cygnus! You don't have the multi-dimensional teleportation powers. Black Star is the only one who has it. If you can't convince him now. You're not going to convince him otherwise.

Rigel: Pretty sure Black Star is serious about not letting them die. He just seems stuck on waiting.

Cygnus: Yah, stuck like you are believing lunar thinks you're a robot.

Rigel: Hey!

Cygnus: Oh, shut up! *Looking back towards Black Star* If you want to be an idiot and make Algol live through watching himself almost get torn to pieces, That's your problem! I told you he was going to die, And you decided to ignore it! You know just as much as anyone else here. That we are all destined to die or fall at moon's hands. Never once has that changed. The only happy endings, are the ones created by fantastical aftermaths! That are so off the Cannon road, They aren't even cannon! You are running off of the idea of a fantasy, that only comes out of wildest dreams. That hope you hold on to, is a dream! You know it! You're the fucking creation of one! You and your stupid god. You know that your fantasy is a lie! Why can't you just accept it that way!

*Silence spans like an overwhelming blanket in the area. Covering everything except for the hum of the projector. Cygnus stands firm in front of Black Star. Shaking in rage. Blackstar stairs back at him. His eyes portray the husk that they have to come. Unable to deny or confirm. Cygnus screams and slashes his rage towards a theater chair*

Cygnus: Fuck off then! Live in your false reality! Don't come looking for me! I'll tear you to bits if you do!

*Cygnus storms off. Briskly leaving the theater. Antares sits up from his chair. Slowly walking out of the theater himself.*

Antares: He's right you know. We're all exaggerated cut off from what is true. Expecting anything better than the standard will just make everything hurt more.

*Antares leaves the theater. The silence returning as Rigel and Black Star stay in their places. Black Star finally raising up his arms and letting out a silent sob. Hiding his face in his hands.*

Rigel: ... If it's anything. I hope you're right.

Black Star: God I hope so. Huuh! I really hope so.

Took me a while but here's a small green cousins fic for my Seaboard Au. Hope you like it!

Well, this wasn't on Morros schedule.

Suddenly appearing out of thin air as a ghost again was a weird feeling, and before he could adjust himself, Master Wu was already explaining why the ninja needed his help. So there's a giant snake of destruction that's connected to water and air, and only those two elemental masters can stop it if it awakens? Alright, understood, probably gonna die again.

"Can you help us, Morro?"

"I'll try my best, Master"

Wu sighed and then smiled, he seemed.. Proud. Or something.

Only after Master Wu finished talking, Morro realized they weren't alone in the room; the cyan ninja was standing not so far behind Wu, she looked anxious, right behind her was Lloyd, he looked tense. This didn't surprise Morro.

"Then we just need to tell the rest" Wu stood up and gestured them to follow.

Just before Morro could leave the room, the cyan ninja stopped him. "You won't try to do anything right?" Again, not surprised.

"I won't." He sounded cold, even when he didn't mean to.

"Good" She tried matching his tone, but Morro realized her shoulders relaxed, just by an inch. Lloyd still stood behind her as stiff as a board.

Morro must've zoned out for a few minutes. When he realized were he was standing, the red ninja was fighting with the cyan ninja and Wu, the other guys were trying to calm them down while carefully glaring at Morro every few seconds, waiting for him to do something. Yet again, completely unsurprised.

After 5 minutes of unresolved fighting, Morro couldn't handle the sounds and decided to go to the roof; he always went to the roof whenever after training when he lived in the monastery, stargazing really helped him to relax.

He sat and leaned back, taking a deep breath to sort out his thoughts. He was in Ninjago again, sitting in the same spot he sat as a kid, looking up at the sky. Having time to relax by himself was one of the things Morro missed of being alive.

Except he wasn't alone.

".. What are you doing up here?" The green ninja was just a meter away from him.

Morro didn't flinch at the other's presence. "Just taking in the information."

Then silence.

Well, this was awkward. Very awkward. Morro hated that feeling. Should he say something? Do something? Or should he wait until Lloyd speaks?

You know what? Fuck it. Here goes nothing.

".. I'm sorry Lloyd,"

".... What?," Lloyd tensed up even more. "What do you- What did you say?"

"I said I'm sorry, for what I did to you. The possession and everything else. You didn't deserve that."

Silence.

Lloyd spoke again. "Do- Do you actually mean it? This isn't some lie to do something to us ri-"

"I mean it. I actually mean it. I'm genuinely sorry for everything I've done," There was a feeling behind those words, Morro couldn't figure out what it was. "I was angry and jealous and I used you as a punching bag to release all that. I shouldn't have done that."

Something felt heavy in his chest. Oh, the feeling is regret.

Lloyd stayed quiet, he stared at Morro before sighing and looking up to the sky. Now it was Morro who stared at Lloyd.

"You actually mean it?.."

"Yes, I mean it. .. Wait- I'm not saying this to get something out of you I'm just apologizing because I want to." Lloyd let out a dry laugh at that.

"Alright, that's good," His shoulders relaxed. "I guess Master was right about you."

"What do you mean with that?"

"You're a good guy, you just lost the path for a while," Lloyd gave him a little smile, a content one.

Morro (for the first time since he appeared) was surprised at this. It took him a few seconds to take in what he heard, then he returned the smile, it was small but genuine.

"... You look weird when you smile"

"...Wow. Thank you. How nice of you"

"I didn't mean it as an insult!," Lloyd raised his hands and started shaking them. "You just look weird to me!"

"...WOW. Even better. Thank you Lloyd, you're SO nice."

"WAIT NO- I didn't mean like that-!"

Lloyd was cut off by a fireball aimed directly at Morro's head, but since he is a ghost the fireball went right through his face.

"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM YOU WINDBAG!"

Both of them looked back down to the monastery to see the black ninja grabbing the red one by his hands, stopping him of throwing another fireball.

"Ah, I was wondering when he would do something like that" Lloyd stood up and started walking towards the edge of the roof. "Hey, thanks for helping us.. And for what you said" He smiled at Morro and jumped down to the training area.

Morro stayed on the roof and looked back up to the sky; This was nice, apologizing to Lloyd was nice, maybe this wouldn't be that bad.

Then another fireball was launched to his head, this time he dodged it; then people screamed "KAI!"

"WHAT? HE WAS EXPECTING IT ALREADY!"

Still, not the worst.

Chapter 11

Chapter summary: some domestic (well deserved) time for our heroes.

Chapter warnings: spoiler season 4, cuteness.

I don't think there are words to describe what I'm feeling right now.

Hopper, El and I sitting on the floor of Hopper's cabin, because they didn't have time to fix everything else properly yet, eating some pizza.

"God... I missed pizza" Hopper basically moans as he eats a slice.

"I bet" I nod. "Now we gotta get you back to your previous form"

"Don't worry. I'll get there in no time. Gotta make up for all that... well...whatever they fed us" he says with a chuckle.

I can't imagine what he's been through all this time... he deserves to rest... well deserved.

"I missed you" El suddenly says and we turn our head to look at her.

"I missed you too... both of you" Hopper smiles "even if you were a real pain in the ass sometimes"

El and Hopper laugh.

"That's not true!" I defend myself.

"You're right, you're right... you were a real bane" he chuckles and I open my mouth shocked by his words, but amused at the same time.

"You're really not the one to make that argument?!" I challenge.

"What? What did I do?" He laughs.

"You weren't that better" El agrees with me.

"Ah!" I exclaim.

"You two are trying to make me regret the Russian prison? Is that what this is?" He jokes taking another big bites of pizza.

"Never. We don't want to lose you anymore" I say with a smile, looking at El who nods.

"Neither do I" Hopper smile is genuine.. Happy and relieved. As if now he can finally take a break.

I feel my eye getting wet from happy tears so I just blink them away with a chuckle.

"Okay, I don't need any more crying. Let's talk about something else" I declare eating my own slice of pizza.

They nod laughing with me.

"Who... who's Eddie? Dustin talked a lot about him" El softly asks.

Oh god.

"Yeah" Hop take advantage of her question "who is Eddie? Uh?"

"I'm so happy you're here I-" I try to change subject again, but Hopper cuts me off.

"Oh no, no, you won't get away with it now. No Harrington to save you this time either. Who. Is. Eddie?" He says with the most triumphant grin I've ever seen.

"Fuck..." I mutter, I look at El, she sends me an apologetic, yet teasing smile so I take a deep breath "he's my boyfriend... since, uh... today"

"Wait... is this Eddie Munson? As in the drug dealer?" He suddenly asks.

"Yeah..." I say, ready to hear him say I shouldn't be with him.

"He better be treating you right, then" he simply says, catching me off guard.

"Wait... is he okay to you? Like no 'you shouldn't associate yourself with people like him' or something?"

"He's always been a good kid, okay? Not a Saint... far from it. But... he did what he had to do. His father wasn't the best person out there" He explains.

"Yeah.. I know" I sigh.

"So... as long as he treats you right and doesn't do anything illegal... he's alright to me" he gently smiles.

"You love him?" El asks. I look at her smiling at me, I nod.

"He better not break your heart"

"Yeah yeah, Steve already gave him the speech" I wave him off.

"Harrington?" Hopper asks sceptically "Cool-Hair? Really?"

I nod, holding back a laugh.

"Okay.." he sighs "I will have to give this Eddie the actual speech, then"

At that El and I burst out laughing, loudly. Hop looks at us with a warm smile before laughing with us.

The evening goes on like this, laughs and catch ups.

Hopped told us about his time in Russia, how he managed to befriend one fo the guards and then escaped with Joyce and Murray's help.

El told us about her experience in high school in California. Which made my blood boil after hearing about this Angela treating her like shit. She then told us how she got her powers back, about Brenner being alive and about what she discovered about her past... how she first defeated One.

I gently grab her hand after she finished talking and she smile at me, grateful.

I told them about Chrissy, how Eddie had to hide because the whole town thought he was the killer. I told them about us being stuck in the Upside Down, our plan and how Eddie almost died to help us.

When it got late Hopper offered to drive me home so I wish El goodnight and go to get in the car with Hop.

"You sure he treats you right?" Hopper asks while he drives.

"I'm sure, Hop. He's really nice" I tell him.

"Gotta meet him.. I mean.. it's my job, now" he says seriously, but I can tell he's smiling.

" you will, I promise. Just don't be too harsh on him, uh?"

"I'll try. No promises."

"So..." I start, after a while, with a teasing tone.

"So?"

"You and Joyce?"

"What about it?" He asks trying to sound casual about it.

"You needed a year in a russian prison to grow some balls?" I tease.

"For the record... I asked her out before being captured. I just got held up" he defends.

"Mmh... I'll ask her" I declare.

"Go ahead" he invites proudly.

I laugh.

"I'm happy for you, Hop" I say "like.. really happy"

"So am I" he replies. "I'm also very proud of you"

"What for?" I ask confused.

"You grew up so much from last time. Not only physically, but you are braver, more confident. Not that you weren't before... but you know. I talked to Dustin and the others, they told me how you defended them. From monsters and from these jocks that hunted your boyfriend down, gotta give me the names by the way, I'm proud of you"

"How do you know about that?" I ask surprised.

"Dustin" he simply answers.

Oh Dusty..

"I got it from you" I shyly say after a moment. "The bravery"

"Nah, you might be a Hopper now, but that courage has always been there. You just needed to believe in yourself a bit more" he chuckles.

"Maybe" I shrug.

"No, no, it's always been there. Trust me. Stop putting yourself down." He gently scolds me.

"I'm trying"

"You better be"

He pulls up to my house and stops the car.

"Thank you" I tell him.

"No problem. It's good to be back to the old habit" he says.

"I..." I start "Uh... when El won't need to hide anymore... maybe.. uh..maybe you two can live here..?"

Silence falls in the car.

"What about your independence, uh?" He tries, to check if I'm messing with him, I think.

" I know how being independent feels like... I think I want to find out what having a family at home feels like.." I look down playing with my rings as I keep talking "there's enough space to gain two more bedrooms... and, uh... it's close to the police station too."

There's silence again so I turn my head to look at Hopper... wiping away some tears.

"Are you crying?" I ask surprised.

"Of course I am!" He replies as a matter of fact and I softly laugh.

"Should I take it as a yes?" I then ask, rhetorically.

"You should. Yes" he tells me with a proud smile. "Now go get some sleep. It's already very late"

I get out of the car with a smile.

"Don't start being the strict father you tend to be!" I warn him.

"You signed the papers, I can be whatever father I want" he jokes.

"The best one. I know" I tell him walking away, not before noticing a surprised and tender smile growing on his face.

I got home and for the first time in a long time I slept like a baby.

No monster to fight, no douchebag to avoid... just a peaceful night of sleep.

"Thanks again for driving us, Argyle" I thank Jonathan's friend, who gently offered to drive me to get Eddie from the hospital.

I'm sitting in the back with Dustin, while Jonathan sits in the front, he and Dustin helped me look around Eddie's destroyed trailer to see what survived and what could be fixed.

One thing in particular seemed to survive just fine. Can't wait to show it to Eddie.

"No problemo" Argyle answers.

"And thank you Jonathan for helping us this morning" Dustin says.

"Don't worry about it, Dustin. Glad I helped." Jonathan smiles.

"You're curious to know Eddie, aren't you?" Dustin asks with a proud grin and I roll my eyes with a laugh.

"Gotta say yes" he laughs.

"I knew it!" Dustin exclaims.

"Why?" I laugh.

"Because one Dustin and Lucas can't seem to shut up about him and two you're family, I need to be sure he's good enough for you" Jonathan explains.

I smile at that, we really are family.

"Are you too gonna threaten him? Get in line I'm afraid" I tell him.

"Who else?" He asks taken aback.

"Well... Steve already gave him the speech, Dustin here wants too, Hop 'gotta meet him'... so... yeah, get in line" I chuckle.

"Can I get in line too?" Argyle asks, as if he asked if the sit is taken or something "you seem cool, dude, and if you're Jonathan's friend, you're my friend too"

"Thank you, Argyle" I laugh.

"Also... Steve doesn't count" Dustin comments.

"Oohh I'll tell him you said that!"

"You won't!"

"I will" I laugh.

We finally get to the hospital and Dustin and I go get Eddie while Jonathan and Argyle stay in the parking lot.

Dustin knocks at the door and when we hear Eddie's voice telling us to come in we enter.

"There he is!" Dustin announces.

Eddie's standing up putting putting on his shirt and smiles brightly when he sees us.

"Thought you never came" he jokes.

"I tried to leave you here, but Dustin missed you too much" I joke walking to him.

"You tried, uh?" He grabs my waist to pull me to him.

"I did, he didn't listen... now I'm stuck with you" I say feigning annoyance.

"Oh poor lady" he mocks.

"Uh... guys" Dustin speaks "do you mind? Not in front of me? Please?"

"Sorry" I say with a small laugh.

"I'm not sorry, but fine" Eddie shrugs and lets go of me.

"Ready to go, then?" I ask him.

"Yeah" he says grabbing a small bag with some clothes we brought him.

We walk to the exit and I feel Eddie walking as close to me as possible.

I notice some of the people there sending him hatred and scared looks. Even if both the chief and police officers dropped any accusations towards him, and even apologised to him, people in this town can't help but still blame him.

Eddie walks looking down, afraid of what he might see if he met one of those stare, so I grab his hand, squeezing it as we walk, and finally I feel him relaxing as we arrive at the parking lot to Jonathan and Argyle.

We all planned a small dinner with everyone, both to have a real first moment of relief and also to give Lucas an excuse to take a break.

We stop to grab some pizza in this little place close to Family Video, so we can pick up Steve and Robin and then go to the Wheeler's house.

As we wait Robin and Steve joins us.

"Hey there!" Robin and Steve greet us.

"Hey, man. How do you feel?" Steve asks Eddie.

"A lot better" Eddie answers.

"That's good because..." Robin starts walking up to Eddie "because if you dare, or even slightly remotely think about hurting my friend... you are completely and utterly done"

"She skipped the line!" Argyle exclaims.

"Trust me... that's definitely not in my plans.." Eddie replies, taken aback.

"Oh god" I mutter "Guys, can you please stop threatening my boyfriend?"

A chorus of 'ooh's emerges from the group and Eddie turns to me with a proud grin.

"Yeah, guys, and stop getting my girlfriend all flustered" he pulls me to him "that's my job"

A fake gag sound escapes Dustin mouth at that, but I know he's the happiest about it.

After a while of chatting as we wait some people come in, we simply acknowledge them and get back at listening to Jonathan and Argyle talking about California, but I can still feel them staring... and unfortunately I know who they're staring at.

I stay close to Eddie, knowing he feels their stare too, and I try to give him as much comfort as I can.

I lock eyes with Steve who looks at me with a questioning look so I slightly nod at the people staring at us.

Surprisingly Steve turns around to look at them.

"Got a problem?" He asks making them jump taken aback. "Go mind your own business, uh?"

He turns back around and motion Jonathan to go on, and I see him sending Eddie a supporting nod to which Eddie answers with a thankful one.

When we finally get the pizza we immediately head to the Wheeler's.

"No way!" Eddie exclaims " the neverending story song? Really?"

He sits with Lucas, Dustin and Will on the floor and they're telling him about last summer. Dustin tries to hid himself, embarrassed.

Me and the rest sit on the couch and armchairs around them, Mike is with El in Hopper's cabin.

"And he sang it beautifully" I chime in.

"Yeah, Henderson, should've recorded it" Steve joins.

"Ooh I wish I could have been there!" Eddie jokes.

"Oh, no, trust me, you don't" Jonathan tell him, with a small chuckle. "It was messy"

"Yeah, I was just acting tough, man" Eddie replies.

"Just like you pretend you're that big coward, when in reality you're not." Dustin tells him.

"Yeah, Munson you're a hero. Take some credits" Steve says with a shrug.

"The whole town thinks otherwise" he sadly mutters.

"We think you are. And we're the smartest persons you could ever meet so... we're right" Dustin states.

"You do?" Eddie asks.

"Of course, love" I rub his shoulders to comfort him, making him turn around.

"Thanks" he sweetly say, then turn to everyone "really, thank you"

"Plus... I guess we are all freaks here. We stick together" Robin states.

"Exactly!" Dustin exclaims ecstatic.

"Always" Lucas agrees.

"Hey, guys" Karen enters the basement. "Can someone come up here and help me bring down some snacks?"

"We already got pizza, mom" Nancy tells her.

"Can't eat that all night, c'mon" Karen encourages.

I look at Nancy rolling her eyes and getting up.

"I'll come too" I say getting up as well.

"Thanks" she says as we go upstairs.

We arrive in the kitchen and start helping Mrs Wheeler with the snacks.

"It's so nice having you all back to hang out like that" she comments "helping each other out, supporting each other"

"That's what family does, isn't it?" I shyly say.

"Exactly" she replies with a big and warm smile.

I look at Nancy, who's also smiling.

"We also got two good additions I think" she jokes.

"Oh yeah, that.. Argyle seems very nice, a bit in his own world, but nice" Karen says "and Eddie" she looks at me.

"Yeah?" I ask confused.

"Is he nice?" I can hear the teasing in her tone.

"I... well.. yeah.. I mean, everyone loves him" I nervously chuckle.

I see Nancy and her mother sharing a knowing look.

"What's that look?" I ask, half amused by their teasing.

"Oh nothing, nothing. Is he nice... to you?"

I look at Nancy, knowing she already told her mother about me and Eddie, but she shrugs innocently.

"Yeah, Mrs Wheeler. He is" I say, with my cheeks heating up when she gives me a knowing look.

"I'm glad to hear it, sweetie" she gently says, as she puts some peanut butter on a piece of bread.

"He can't seem to have eye for nothing else" Nancy chimes in.

"Yeah, okay, stop teasing me" I jokingly complain.

"Alright alright, c'mon there you go, girls. Have fun" Karen hands us the rest of the snacks she made and me and Nancy walk back downstairs.

"We got food!" Nancy announces and we pit all the food on the table with the rest of the pizza.

"Whoa, does she think we're gonna starve to death?" Steve comments.

"Well, I'm not complaining" Robin replies as she grabs one sandwich.

I walk back to sit on my spot behind Eddie, who still sits on the floor.

"I missed you" he says to me and I tenderly smile at him, still shy from his affection.

We went on chatting and telling stories about the Upside Down so both Eddie and Argyle, who is surprisingly excited about it asking the most absurd questions. For example he asked if we used actual dog snacks to catch the demo-dogs... he definitely is the funniest addition to the group.

"Okay guys it's getting late, I hate to kick ypu out, but you're parents would kill me" Karen says as she enter the basement.

"Yeah, we better go too. We got a shift at Family video tomorrow morning" Robin explains.

"Alright, let's go then" Jonathan declares standing up and kissing Nancy goodnight.

We all wish Nancy and her parents goodnight before getting into Argyle pizza van.

The first stop is Dustin house.

"Goodnight guys!" He jumps out.

"Goodnight Dusty" I say.

"Oh! Before I forget.." he turns back around pointing his finger at Eddie.

"Oh god..."

"Yeah?" Eddie pays attention.

"She's my sister, Munson. Okay? You hurt her and I'm gonna, personally, shave your hair, then I'm gonna revive one of those bats and cage you in a small closet with it" he seriously tells him.

"Does anyone else want to threaten me?" Eddie asks.

"Well..." Jonathan starts.

"There's a line, dude" Argyle explains.

"You had to be so nice, uh?" Eddie sarcastically says to me, smiling amused.

"It's not my fault. I tried to make them stop" I defend.

"I'm serious, Munson" Dustin repeats.

"I know, Henderson, I know. And trust me, for the millionth time, I have no intention of hurting this lovely lady" Eddie simply says.

"You better" Dustin glares at him before walking to his house.

"Okay, guys, seriously, now stop threatening him, thank you very much." I chuckle.

"Okay"

"Yeah"

"Sorry" Steve mutters.

"Let's go, please" I ask laughing, basically. They're all so sweet, of course, but poor Eddie.

Once we arrive at my house me and Eddie get out of the van.

"Goodnight" Eddie says grabbing his bag.

"Goodnight and thanks for the ride"

"Y/n, one more thing?" Steve calls "Uh... if you hurt him, I'll... uh... hurt you"

Really?

Everyone laughs.

I think he's trying to make Eddie feel really apart of the group, he gave up on his "non-jealousy" and he wants to make him feel included.

"Ooh.. I'm so scared" I sarcastically say, with a chuckle.

I walk back grabbing Eddie's hand and leading him to the house.

"I appreciate the effort though, Harrington!" Eddie yells at him.

"Anytime!" Steve yells back as they drive off.

So Ladd and I... I never really fleshed out a story for us before, but here's my first attempt!

It got a little long, so it's under a cut fjdjdh

I was on the ship with Maiza and the other immortals. I didn't drink the immortality elixir when everyone else did, though. I waited, because I was sure that I didn't want to live forever. Once I saw how lonely Maiza was without his brother though, I decided to drink and to stay with him for eternity, as his friend and younger sibling.

Being immortal has its downsides, though, and that's the fact that I am not crazy about the whole Living thing. For many years I tried to find an antidote for the immortality, but it never worked. There was only one way to end an immortal's life; To be devoured by another immortal. There was no way I could ask that of Maiza, so I kept trying.

One night, I stood on the edge of a bridge, watching the water rushing below, planning on jumping but knowing that nothing would actually take my life. I'd get a few broken bones, maybe, but they'd heal just as quick. Maybe it was for the adrenaline I was doing it now. Maybe it was just the comfort of the illusion that soon I wouldn't have to keep living.

That's when he found me.

Ladd stopped me from jumping, asked what a pretty thing like me was doing all the way out here on such a dark night, that the city is full of creeps and I should be careful if I wanna stay alive. Funny thing to say after I had just watched him kill two guys for simply standing in his way on his stroll over to me, but it wasn't any of my business.

We got talking, of course I didn't tell him that I was immortal, just that I was cursed. A curse that nobody can beat- A curse that won't let me die. He had to laugh. And he laughed hard.

"What a coincidence! You're here with a curse that stops you from dying, and here I am, the best assassin the Russo family's got! I'll kill ya, kid. In fact, I won't even ask you to pay me! I'll do it for free!"

There was no hesitation as he pulled out a gun, and I pressed my head against the barrel.

But, if anyone knows anything about Ladd Russo, it's that the people he likes killing the most are the ones who never see it coming. He lowered the gun and put it away, telling me that we should meet up again in a few days, give me time to get my affairs in order. What he really wanted was to get me unaware- This was a challenge and he was going to pass it with flying colors - Mostly red!

The problem was, though, that I was always ready. If he couldn't get me surprised, he wasn't going to get me at all, dammit. So we kept meeting, he kept telling me it would happen another time. The more we saw of each other, though, the closer we grew, and the more I wanted to live to see him.

Sure, he was a maniac who loved killing, and I was an immortal who could never die... But there was an energy between us. Crazy, some people might call it... But we fit each other's crazy.

He eventually asked me to stop trying to take my own life- That if anyone was going to kill me, it was going to be him. It was his honor and his alone. That's how our dynamic ended up along the same lines of his and Lua's in canon- "Its always been my dream to find people who want to live in this world more than you and slaughter them one by one until... Until there's just you, and I'd gladly spend the rest of your life lovingly murdering you. Until then you stick with me, and don't you dare die. Right, babe?"

Unlike Lua who is very reserved though, I am visibly flattered by Ladd when he flirts this way, very deeply into it xkdjskb

The Cut that Always Bleeds - Tim: 'Oh I, can't, be, your lover on a leash, every other week, when you need, oh I can't be, the kiss that you don't need, the lie between your teeth, the cut that always bleeds' Tim realizing that maybe being Bruce's emotional support child is no bueno for his mental heath. 'Say you love somebody new and beat my heart to black and blue, and they leave and it's me you come back to' Because Tim became Robin to essentially be Bruce's crutch until he could get back on his feet after Jason's death, and the problem with that is Bruce will never really get back on his feet because he's still limping from his parents death, 'But even though you're killing me, I need you like the air I breathe, I need, I need you more than me, I need you more than anything, please, please.' and that's kinda the case for all the Robins. Bruce pushes them so hard, almost to the point of breaking, and when they want to break away, Bruce gives them a sliver of validation creating a never ending cycle of them craving Bruce's approval.

Astronomy - Jason: 'cus socially speaking, we were the same, with runaway fathers and mothers who drank' Jason to Steph probably 'From far away, i wish i'd stayed with you. but here face to face a stranger that I once knew. I thought if I wandered, I'd fall back in love, you said distance brings fondness, but guess not with us' Jason to Bruce during UTRH, because Jason's death changed both of them so much, to the point where they can't recognize each other anymore . And maybe Bruce missed Jason while he was dead, but now that he's alive...'Stop trying to keep us alive, you're pointing at stars in the sky, that've already died, stop trying to keep us alive, you can't force the stars to align, when they've already died' Him to himself about continuing to forgive Bruce and running back to Bruce time and time again after all the shit Bruce has pulled

Footnote - Tim: 'I say if I waited, could that maybe help, you told me that patience won't change how you felt, for me' Tim to Bruce, knowing that he'll never be Jason, yet still yearning for that father/son dynamic (sh sh, Ik Tim doesn't actually see Bruce as his dad, but lets shift slightly into fanon) 'So I'll just take a footnote, in your life, and you can take my body, every line, I would right for you, but a footnote will do' Tim's entire Red Robin run, mainly to Dick, who is a little too busy trying to balance grieving and a feral child 'You taught me a lesson, that feelings are reckless, it's just like the novels, side characters end up alone.' Tim after loosing almost everyone he cared about within a year and turning cold and distant.

They were literally never around. Tim: 'It's hard to put it into words, How the holidays will always hurt, I watch the fathers with their little girls, And wonder what I did to deserve this, How could you hurt a little kid? I can't forget, I can't forgive you, 'Cause now I'm scared that everyone I love will leave me' I can just imagine little baby Timmy following Batman and Robin, and then casting a glance at a family lighting a minorah, while he knows his family's minorah is sitting in the closet because his parents still haven't come home from their trip. Jason: 'Oh, all that I did to try to undo it,' All the crimes he did to survive, made him try so hard as Robin to undo that, 'All of my pain and all your excuses, I was a kid but I wasn't clueless' Maybe it's how he feels about Sheila now that he's grown. Jason was alone on the streets before Bruce. He even empathized with Sheila, and tried to help her. Jason was optimistic, not naive. Tim: 'Someone who loves you wouldn't do this' Jason: "All of my past, I tried to erase it,' His time on the streets, his time as Robin, Sheila's betrayal, The LOA, his villain era, 'But now I see, would I even change it?' Because all of those things shaped who he is now 'Might share a face and share a last name, but We are not the same' He would've never done what Sheila did, he would never do what Bruce did, or Talia, or Wilis or any of the other adults in his life who have let him down.

Anywho, yeah, Conan Gray writing music for Jason and Tim is on my mind a lot.

Higurashi: Curse Killing Chapter 11

It's late in the arc, but we finally have the supernatural and creepy elements that the series is known for.

Keiichi goes back to school and everyone is talking about him being at the festival with them. Keiichi is understandably freaked out. I have my own ideas that I'll save for the spoiler discussion.

Instead I just want to talk about the art design during that scene. I said Karin Suzuragi can draw non-human eyes and Yutori Houjyou draws unhuman eyes. But Jiro Suzuki was able to take the creepiness to a far greater level here. They were able to draw eyes that are just not human. When I look at Mion and Rena, my brain tells me these are not human beings at all.

And now that I think of it, every time things get weird, it's always Rena and Mion who start making creepy faces. Rika is also saying Keiichi was at the festival but there's nothing unnerving about her in this scene.

And with the scene at Irie clinic, again the main things I want to discuss are spoilers.

Aside from that, I do want to mention that Keiichi and Irie had promised each other to do what they can to make sure Satoko is happy. So Irie is the only person Keiichi can feel safe opening up to about murdering Teppei. And Irie gives him the affirmation he needed to know that he did the right thing.

But that is short lived when Keiichi overhears Irie planning to sedate Keiichi.

As this chapter progresses, it feels more and more as if everything last chapter was just a delusion. Keiichi's friends are telling him he went to the festival with him. Irie is trying to explain what's going on only to believe Keiichi is going insane. And then we have Keiichi trying to dig up the body only to find there's no body.

He's becoming more and more deranged and irrational.

Spoiler Discussion

I don't think the story ever explains what happened to Teppei's body so I'll just give some of my own ideas.

At this point, all of Keiichi's friends likely know why he wasn't at the festival. He's previously asked Mion if she can arrange Teppei's murder so she knows he wants the man dead. And similar to the last arcs, Keiichi is behaving similar to Satoshi before he disappeared. They probably think Satoshi murdered his aunt, and concluded Keiichi missed the festival because he was murdering Teppei.

When Keiichi asked Mion to kill Teppei, he promised he'd make an alibi to protect her. And I think Mion is trying to return the favor. She and the others came up with a series of stories to give Keiichi an alibi for the murder and they may have even roped some of the elders like Kimiyoshi in on it.

And since Keiichi was late to school, Mion and the others could have caught the other kids up on the plan.

Meanwhile, Mion would have gotten someone to find and move the body somewhere it won't be found. The Sonozaki manor has an underground system and there are remains of someone killed at least a decade ago. Mion knows where to hide a body so it won't be found.

If Keiichi had gone with Mion and Rena to the garbage site, would they have caught him up on the plan?

As for Satoko, Keiichi is not the only one going crazy. Even if Teppei is gone, Satoko is in a state where she sees Teppei even if he isn't there and no one can actually tell her he's dead because they're trying to give Keiichi an alibi.

And Irie was likely having deja vu talking to Keiichi. Irie was with Satoshi when he talked about his aunt being gone only to see her everywhere he looked. And now Keiichi is similarly talking about Satoko's uncle being gone only for him to believe the man is still alive.

To the observant reader, this chapter could help recontextualize the entirety of Abducted by Demons. This arc isn't hiding the fact that Keiichi is going insane and we're seeing him panicking and seeing his friends making distorted faces and distrusting everyone around him because of it. Kinda like what happened in Abducted by Demons. Hopefully a new reader would look at what's happening here and think "Was Keiichi just going crazy in the first arc?"

Battle #14, Balbazak

Enemies: 5 Seabats, 2 Silver Knights, 1 Dark Priest, 2 Hellhounds, 3 Artillery, 1 Evil Puppet, Balbazak Allies: Tao - Level 15; Mae - Level 18; Khris - Level 15; Anri - Level 12; Amon - Level 1; Diane - Level 13

So due to the amount of enemies and a small space, I don't doubt that we will have to put in the rule - If the boys get hit that's a reset, cause that's using the boys to our advantage. They have a lot of movement too, so I don't doubt that the boys are going to get hit. The main one to protect is Max, and hopefully if things happen I can revive just the girls and keep the guys dead if they do in fact die.

Attempt #1: I have Mae start to go after the closest Seabat, putting her in the line of fire due to her being our tank.

Mae also proves she is faster than Balbazak, so I don't doubt that her ability to go fast will save our butts. Tao goes after Balbazak, allowing her to go after the Silver Knights with her powerful blaze spells. She even gets one down to 3 HP and the other to 1!

... but then a Hell Hound goes after Max and kills him instantly before I can move him.

Okay so Max needs to be protected above all else. I really hate that. But at the same time, this IS a strategy game and changing my strategy to fit the challenge makes sense!

Attempt #2: Next time, Tao goes first, followed by Mae. So I'm having the girls surround Max to protect him before his turn. In which I'll shove him to the corner to be safe.

An artillery moves for the enemy instead, dealing 2 damage to Mae. Seabats and Hellhound can't reach Max though,

allowing Anri to get needed experience from her freezing Seabats, dealing...

Oh that's... not good actually.

Kris clean up time.

...still more than Freeze...

Thankfully, Anri has enough defense to tank some Silver Knight Damage. Same with Khris and a Sea bat. Though... Diane is unable to use her EXTENDED RANGE AND ATTACK FOR THE ELVEN ARROW AGAINST THE WEAK SEABAT.

I'm sorry, Diane is supposed to be the anti-air unit but magic users are so much more useful in that department. Amon is thankfully able to do some damage against the Seabat Closest to Diane. Hopefully she won't die as fast.

Also, now all the boys are in a corner which should make things easier. I can freely move Tao and Anri to be protected instead of protectees.

Or I can risk Tao getting hit twice for a BEAUTIFUL Blaze Level 3 attack. But I successfully get rid of both artillery AND get a level up for Tao that includes health, defense, and dispel. Mae cleans up the Hellhound.

Now for Diane...

YAY!!!!

Khris heals up Anri, Then gets attacked by 2 Seabats... But the seabats are lining up for a Blaze Level 2... OR I could use Blaze against the Silver Knight and Seabat combo... I'll probably go with that, getting rid of a bat and freeing up Tao and Mae for assistance.

Okay, that didn't work, but the Artillery went for Anri instead of Khris which is great! Until it got a DOUBLE ATTACK AND SLAYED ANRI FREEING UP THE SPOT FOR THE SILVER KNIGHT TO ATTACK KHRIS ARE YOU KIDDING!?

A bat attacks Diane, a Silver knight does only 3 damage to Tao... Well, now Mae has her pick of the Litter. And I think I'll go with the Silver Knight that is threatening Khris... ALTHOUGH. If I keep him alive, and go for the Seabat, I could get in a Blaze with the Silver Knights and the Artillery...

Exactly what I needed Mae, thanks.

The knights are gone, but the Artillery still lives, unfortunately.

I have Diane attack the undamaged Seabat, but it... completely misses. I'm hoping I can get Khris's turn before she dies to the Seabats. Would Suck to lose her especially when I need her to level up to 20 just for easier promotion stats. Though, Amon slays the damaged bat! Love her.

The Artillery hits Tao, getting her to 7 HP after an 8 HP attack. I was worried about another double attack... Which was misplaced, because the Seabat got a double attack on Khris, taking her 8 HP. The other bat darts over to Diane, dealing too much damage for comfort. The Dark Priest, instead of healing the Artillery, begins beating on Tao, bringing her down to 2 HP.

Thankfully, Blaze Level 3 and Mae are killers.

Down goes the Artillery.

And next, the priest.

Diane gets up to Ken, and fires an arrow to a bat. While not killing it, she gains a level up, gaining HP.

A bat goes after Amon, bringing her down to 2 HP.

But then a BAT GOES AFTER LUKE AND I LOSE THE RUN ON THAT FLUKE!

Attempt #3: With Luke gone, there's a hole under Max. I probably should have just replaced him with Earnest, given I don't want to waste gold on a party member I won't use, and it would give me an easier time, but I put in my mental rules that I didn't want to replace any character unless it was a girl, which the only one I'll have to do that with is Alef.

So Khris, Tao, Mae, and Anri surround Max. I position Diane behind Anri, near Khris to protect her, and plan to have Amon sandwich to protect Diane. She finally damages a Seabat on her first try. Let's hope that this a good sign for luck. However, due to the Seabat not moving to attack Anri yet, I'll have Amon attack it and protect Anri instead. She needs more EXP than Diane anyways. I'm STILL waiting for Freeze Level 2.

Amon's deadly attack gets her a level up, with increased Defense, Speed, and HP. Unfortunately, despite the Defense and HP boost, 2 Seabats are still deadly opponents to the bird woman, biting her to shreds.

Tao is busy attacking the Artillery with Blaze Level 3 to realize what just happened, but Mae unleashes her Wrath against a Seabat. As does Diane, killing it.

Unfortunately, the Artillery survive again, and Tao is attacked by two of them. A far off Seabat rushes across the map, attacking Anri. Another attacks Diane, and she's unable to help defend Anri from the Seabat attack. Khris, analyzing the situation, runs over to Tao and heals her.

Khris levels up, gaining attack, and speed, and health, and mp. Her heal level also increases.

A hellhound undoes Khris's healing, but Mae stops an artillery from attacking Tao by slicing it with her spear. Tao takes that time to unleash another Blaze Level 3. Destroying a Silver Knight and the last two artillery.

Diane is about to run over to Khris, but then... she realizes Khris was healing Tao again. Instead, Diane decides to turn around and defend the boys, by firing an arrow at the farthest Seabat. She's unable to kill it, but gets a level up, getting more attack, defense, and HP.

The Seabat, undeterred, attacks Hans. but he LIVES! He lives! He has more Defense and/or HP than the tank that the dwarves are supposed to be! Now, I do have to reset, but... I APPRECIATE HANS SO MUCH HOLY MOLY!!! I knew there was a reason I used to like him so much! (Honestly, I used to ship him and Diane and I might start doing that again.)

Unfortunately, Ken also falls to the Seabats. Hans is surrounded, so I hope he doesn't die... And he doesn't! Max is able to Egress.

Attempt #4: I swapped Tao and Anri around this time, so maybe she'll be able to get some Experience with her Blaze Level 2 to get Freeze Level 2 soon. Also, I had Diane in the line of fire with the bats. I think that I will aim to have them down first, and try to make a wall with the girls, with Khris behind them, trying to heal everyone. (Can't wait until she has aura. Once she has that, I'm spamming it due to the low amount of viable units.)

This position appears optimal for the enemy, but they forget I HAVE MAGIC.

Mae's Spear is able to get the Dark Priest down to 1 HP, allowing Blaze 3 to have a great affect against the Seabat, hellhound, and an Artillery Unit. Khris then goes over to heal Diane, as she is the lowest HP. Though I worry about Tao and Mae.

Amon dances in the air as she and a Seabat fail to harm one another.

Anri, meanwhile goes for a dangerous move to try to gain EXP and kill the Hellhound with only 3 HP, using a Blaze level 2 where Tao used to use Level 3s. She successfully levels up, gaining defense, speed, and the SECOND LEVEL OF FREEZE. This defense allows her to survive both an artillery's attack, and a Silver knights. Before an artillery can move to attack her, Diane shoots it, stalling it long enough for a Silver Knight to fail charging towards any of my units.

Tao unleashes another bout of Blaze 3, killing a Silver Knight, Artillery, and a Bat. She even levels up to 17! She gains a little hp, and 6 WHOLE POINTS FOR MP.

Mae fails to take down the Knight for Anri, but that doesn't bother her. She walks into the blind spot for the Artillery, and unleashes a level 1 Freeze to the Silver Knights face, just because she can. Unfortunately, what she and Mae thought would happen, the artillery attacking Mae, did not. And as the Artillery moved, Anri was too shocked to dodge the deadly attack.

As Khris heals up Tao, she wishes she could have moved sooner to save the princess...

Diane shoots the Bat Amon was distracted by, allowing Amon to divebomb another bat to attack. Another bat bashes into Amon however, dealing a rough amount of damage to the sky warrior. As another bat tries to join in, Tao unleashes her last Blaze Level 3 to get them off Amon's tail.

Mae, fueled by righteous fury for her princess, slashes at the artillery with her spear and destroys it.

Khris extends her reach with Heal Level 2 to heal up Amon. Amon then slashes at a Bat, destroying it. While another tries to sneak up on Amon, Diane destroys it. Diane also levels up but gets no stat boosts.

While Khris heals the rest of the team, Amon tries to get pre-emptive damage on the Evil Puppet. Only for it to heal itself.

Amon slashes at it again, while Diane is able to get a great shot against the Hellhound. The Evil Puppet tries to retaliate against Amon, but she ends up flying around the sea to dodge it.

Tao uses the last of her magic points on slaying the puppet and hell hound with blaze level 2, and maybe doing damage against Balbazak.

Balbazak dodges Mae's spear and Diane's arrow, but Amon comes up behind him and attacks. Unfortunately, Balbazak recovers ALL that damage. Usually he's easy due to the HERO and GLADIATOR classes being up front and doing major damage. But with this challenge, it's a limit on both damage output and defense. As seen with Tao who has 20 HP, getting attacked with a Crit that does 38 HP.

Thankfully, this is good EXP farming for Amon, as she gets to Level 3 getting attack, defense, and speed. Unfortunately, Balbazak can do a lot of damage and there's not enough overwhelming with such a limit on the roster.

Though I have to say Khris had quite the anime moment. A healer who can no longer heal, who saw so many fall. She attacks Balbazak, he attacks her back, she DOESN'T DIE, and STRIKES BACK, getting a LEVEL UP FROM IT.

Mae also gets a level up after attack Balbazak, getting SO CLOSE TO LEVEL 20.

Unfortunately, Khris falls, and we're stuck in another Elliot Loop. I know how this ends, with me feeling like I should give up, but Diane and Mae will shine and pull through.

Diane got the end blow, with a double attack and leveling up in the process.

Balbazak pleads for his life but... after killing my girls?

FINE. I GUESS...

And thus, the Chapter ends.

Sick Day

I'm behind on Tumblr in general, but wanna share some story snippets. If you like what you read, I'd love to know. ❤️

"Don't say it." She poked him in the chest. "You are not going to die. And neither is he."

Jon was silent for a moment then leaned over said in a whisper of desperation in her ear, "Can I go with you?"

She pulled back from him. "You're being ridiculous!"

"I don't do sick, Aud," Jon leaned again the door frame again. "I have a hard enough time taking care of myself when I'm sick. I don't know how to take care of a kid! You remember that cold I had in January?"

"Yes, I do. And I'm very thankful colds only last a week. I was this close..." she put her thumb and forefinger up to his nose. There was little space between her fingers. "To requesting another cooperating teacher to finish my student teaching with."

"And you wanna leave Shawn with me?"

Audrey shook her head in exasperation.

Shawn, who had been listening from his bedroom, struggled to the door. He wasn't thrilled with being left with Jon either. "Audrey, are you really leavin'?"

"I have to, Shawn. It's just for a little while. I'll be back Monday morning."

Shawn stared out into space. "Then I'm gonna die," he whimpered.

"See!" Jon said, shoving his hands in the teen's direction. "You leave, we die."

Shawn walked over to Audrey and leaned into her. "Take me with you. I'm too young to die. Jon can't keep fish alive."

Audrey put her arms around him. "To be fair, the fish are partially your fault. Jon thought you were feeding them and you weren't."

Shawn considered this and panicked even more. "And you're still gonna leave me alone with us? What if I forget to feed me?"

"You can survive without food until I get back if it comes to that." Audrey heard about "man flu" before; she just didn't believe it existed. Apparently, it did. "I cannot believe you two are acting this way. Shawn, I'll give pass to you because you're sick." She looked at Jon. "But you have no excuse."

"All right," Jon mumbled, unhappily. He knew they had to let her leave. "Fine. Go. Please hurry back."

"I will. I just need to make sure my dad is okay. I never know when the next crisis will be his last."

"We understand, Aud," he reassured her. "Tell Richie we said hello and hope he gets better."

Shawn held onto her tighter. "Tell Pops if he passes on to the other side this weekend, I'll see him real soon. I might even beat him there."

Audrey rolled her eyes and told them firmly, "Nobody is dying this weekend, okay?"

Jon gave Shawn a displeased looked as Audrey hugged the boy goodbye and gave Jon a kiss on the cheek.

After she left, Jon and Shawn stood in the living room staring at each other. Shawn sagged against the wall near the door deeply upset that Audrey left him. His head and the right side of his face ached unrelentingly from the sinus infection. He was exhausted from being kept awake for most of the past several weeks from congestion. He wanted nothing more than to curl up on Audrey's lap and let her rub his head until he fell asleep. He could rest with Audrey there.

Jon, on the other hand, was nothing like Audrey. He was likely to throw a blanket and some tissues at him and tell him to sleep it off like he did that morning. Jon did not do comfort. Actually, Jon didn't much of anything even when Audrey was there. He just stood in the kitchen with his hand over his mouth watching them. He only did anything when Audrey asked him to do something.

I am gonna die! He thought as the pounding in his head increased. I want my Audrey!

Jon squinted at him and frowned. "So do I. But we won't have her until Monday. Gotta make due."

Shawn rubbed his temple. He didn't realize he'd said that out loud. Shrugging it off, he went over to the couch and sat down. After a few minutes of sitting, that awful dull ache increased until it was an intense pain running through his head. He stood up abruptly and almost passed out from the equilibrium change. After regaining his balance, he started to walk back to his room. As he moved, the pressure in his head lifted some and brought the pain to a more bearable level. Wondering if it was some sort of fluke, Shawn began to pace his room and the hallway. Yes, he definitely was feeling better. Maybe it was psychological, but he didn't care. His wandering took him into the living room where he ended up doing laps around the couch.

Jon was sitting on the couch trying to watch the Rangers game which was very hard to do with a teen endlessly circling in front of the screen. After several frustrating minutes and missing Mark Messier go bardown on Flyers goalie Ron Hextall, Jon said, "Hey, I thought you were dyin'."

"I'm trying to stay alive since you won't help."

Do u think mates are chosen?

Ah fuck it why not.

So I'll start by saying this is a topic of debate for me.

So, Canon wise, I think they're chosen. I believe a relationship develops strong enough that a vampire sees their mate and chooses them as a 'you. You're the one. You're the love of my life. I want to spend eternity with you.' This is seemingly how it works.

And I don't dig it. For no other reason, the likelihood, in my opinion. This is probably because I'm a human in the real world. I think a lot, if not everyone who has ever been in love has this moment. They find someone and know this person is the one. Maybe they'll get married and have kids. All with the idea that they'll be together until they die. This doesn't always happen. People get divorced. People have kids thinking it'll somehow miraculously save their relationship and most come away with the conclusion that if you spend your whole life with one person then you were lucky and you two were so good at overcoming hurdles along the way because relationships are always requiring work.

So with this being said, these great loves like Carlisle and Esme, Marcus and Didyme, etc. All will constantly need work. All will have periods of difficulty, and they will have to actively force themselves to fight for their relationship over and over again as the world changes around them throughout time and people like me would then have to wonder...when did it turn into forcing yourselves to stay together in the hopes this will miraculously fix itself?

I think most of us can agree that if someone a friend has spent a long period of time in a long-term relationship unhappy and actually forcing themselves to stay, the advice you'd give as a friend is to leave for both parties happiness.

That brings me to the alternative of mates not being chosen.

Let's not forget my bias as a fanfic writer who spent years writing twilight. 😂

So let me be clear, fated mates are so much easier to write. I'm not writing a full book with someone else's characters and taking a step by step process to those characters falling in love. Especially knowing that half of those characters wouldn't touch a human with a ten foot pole except for getting the munchies. I often wonder if it would be like falling in love with the turkey you have on the holidays or the lettuce in your salad. Why would a vampire fall for the food source? Well, that's a whole other rabbit hole, isn't it? I reckon there is some debate to be made on that. Anyway back to mates.

Oh but vanity why would the universe be so cruel give someone a mate only for them to be born millennia apart? Well, my lovelies, let me explain that too.

Anyone else ever wonder if you could relate to anyone in the 1800s even if your lives are vastly different? Well that's kinda similar to where I'm doing.

It's the whole idea that the universe isn't cruel, its just indifferent.

Some people you'll just click with more than others and if people from the dark ages were walking around among us, we'd probably get along with some. 🤷‍♀️

Plus, it tickles the romanticist in me. Wouldn't we all love to believe there's someone out there perfect for us?

It's like a dream but with a dose of reality that we can't guarantee we'll ever be alive at the same time as our true love or whatever.

Not to mention, it's very comforting if you feel like an outcast no? No worries if humanity is a bitch there's a gorgeous vampire who's been waiting 1000 years to find you! Yup, clears that right up 😂

This fated mates alternative -TO ME- irons out these questions of these relationships lasting forever without a hitch as written in the books. Carlisle and Esme will face hardship here and there, but for not one minute, will there ever be a doubt that they won't do it together. It's them against the world always, and they're happy and fulfilled for it. Their lives are complete in that regard, which is why it tears them apart from the inside when a vampire loses their mate. Another reason why a vampire can not keep their mate as human because they can't bear being without them, not that they've found them. Like tearing away a piece of yourself, knowingly. No one could choose that happily. So they don't. Benjamin snuck Tia away in the middle of the night, and the rest was history, Amun be damned. Benjamin needed Tia like we need air to breathe. It's simple in a complicated world.

I think I basically covered everything 🤔...as well as sucked my brain into the feeding/falling in love with humans rabbit hole.

Hope this was somewhat interesting!

P.S. I'm still dabbling with Twilight, but for the foreseeable future, I won't be taking requests. I can't make up my mind. So it's easier to say I'm not writing for it so I'm not getting hopes up because even if twilight consistently came back, i probably wouldn't take requests.

51. Share a scene of healing (it doesn't have to be magical or literal~)

I won't lie, I'm struggling hard to find a scene like this in my drafts. I guess that goes to show how much angst/smut I write :,) A very, very true sign that I need to write some more fluffy stuff... Let's try to do that now, shall we? (I'll be continuing from my Separation fic!)

Yugi and Atem had been sitting on the couch for what felt like hours. They barely managed to eat dinner and then wound up there accidentally. Their hands were intertwined tightly between them; they were too afraid to let the other go. They were afraid of being separated again.

"...I'm sorry for yelling at you," Yugi whispered.

Atem's grasp on Yugi's hand tightened and he murmured, "I'm sorry, too. I shouldn't have screamed at you. I just wish that I was better at this—all of this. I'm sorry that I'm bad at it."

"That's not something you should be apologizing for. I never thought about how difficult this might be for you. You're not used to being alive and I completely forgot about that," Yugi turned to face Atem, smiling gently when their gazes met. "I should've been supporting you more instead of assuming that you knew what to do."

"But, I'm not a child," Atem reminded him as he took Yugi's other hand, stroking his thumb over his knuckles. "I don't want to be treated like I'm a child or a baby. Please don't make me feel stupid and dumb again. I—" Atem hesitated, then swallowed thickly and mumbled, "I can't handle that again."

"I know. I don't want you to feel like a kid and I'm so sorry that I made you feel so bad," Yugi muttered and leaned forward until their foreheads bumped together. "I'll do better, I promise. I'm going to do what I said I'd do when you came back to us: I'm going to take care of you the way you deserve to be taken care of."

Atem's eyes welled up with tears and he wound his arms around Yugi's torso, yanking him close and echoed him, "Will you let me take care of you, too? The way you deserve to be taken care of?"

"...After I help you learn to be independent. My priority is making sure you're taken care of and that you're capable of standing on your own—the same way that you showed me to duel without your help. I want to return the favor."

Atem laughed softly, "This is honestly a constant trend of us returning favors to one another."

Yugi shrugged with a playful grin, "That'll just be what works for us."

52. Share a scene at night!

For some context, this is a scenario that takes place during the Millennium World Arc where Yugi and the gang have actual bodies and get taken to the palace, where Yami is. :)

One night, when everyone had gone to sleep, he chose to leave. He wrapped his cloak tightly around him and snuck out without any of the guards noticing. He breathed a sigh of relief when he made it out successfully, taking one of the horses from the stables. He failed to realize that he wasn't alone.

"Pharaoh?"

He jumped at the sudden voice and whipped around, relaxing when he saw Yugi standing by the stable doors. His arms were crossed and his face was marred with worry; his brows furrowed and lips turned downward.

With a hand pressed to his chest to soothe his pounding heart, he whisper-shouted, "You scared me!"

"And you shouldn't be out here. What're you doing?"

"Why is it your business? You're not meant to be out here, either. You should be in your room and sleeping.

"So should you," Yugi glared at him. "We can sit here and argue for as long as you want, but I'm only keeping you from whatever it is you're doing."

Yami peered over at his horse, then released her reins and hugged himself, "I need to leave and explore the area. We'll never be able to get out of here if I don't further history. Bakura has to be somewhere in this world and I have to find him. I have reason to believe that he's the final enemy I'm meant to face before we're returned to our—your home."

"You shouldn't be going alone, then. Let me come with you."

"Absolutely not. You're staying here where you'll be safe. Go back inside."

Since we're talking about Stu I gotta bring it up - something I've never understood is how EVERY movie ignores Stu. It's ALL about Billy in every movie, and I get it, it was technically his plan, but so what? 🤣🙃 Scream 5 made it clear that Billy got more fame and that people didn't even know who Stu was and it's so insulting 🥲 he's a ruthless killer just like Billy, give my man some credit. It feels intentional, like Scream 5 was setting up a possible motive for Stu to come back aka he wants the fame that Billy stole from him. What better way to get revenge on him than to kill his own KID too? It's dark, but it would make sense for Stu to want to kill off Billy's 'legacy.' Even if Stu's dead I just want him to get some attention. I understand if Radio Silence doesn't wanna bring him back, I won't be mad, I'm just hoping he gets some limelight.

Scream 6 looks really good and if it's not Stu, fine, as long as the movies good I'll live 🤣 They threw out Leslie Macher in Scream 5 too and I'm hoping she's a character, maybe she's a killer. Whoever this is isn't playing games, this movie feels different, the Ghostface in the store feels experienced or like they've studied the past killers. Did you see how quick they were? Some think Jill could be one of them or even TARA betraying her own sister 👀 I've seen it highly speculated that this zombie Ghostface could escape and we get a cliffhanger ending leading into 7. All I'm hoping is that people keep an open mind while watching this movie 😅 this movie looks WILD. Also did you see the TV in the shrine? They really included the tv that fell on my bois head 🤣

All I can hear is Matthew yelling at that one girl interviewing them and Skeet like "STU IS ALIVE! GIVE ME A TV AND I'LL SHOW YOU HE COULD HAVE LIVED! 😠" 🤣

But srsly, how does he go from the ideal main villian of 3 (Ngl I would have preferred it over Roman and that wack ass backstory that he manipulated Billy bc it actually feels more far fetched than even a guy surviving that tv thing and wanting revenge) but srsly the potential mastermind of 3 to being scrapped and never mentioned at all in all 5 movies??? 🤨🤨🤨

AND YOU'RE RIGHT!! Imagine Stu seeing Billy take all the credit despite probably doing the most kills AND Billy betrayed him by stabbing him so many times and what if he found out Roman told Billy to use him as a scapegoat? Stu would be enraged and so eager to kill off he's ex partners kid!! How he lived and escaped? Don't know but then again how the hell did Roman single handedly do all he did with that magic voice box 😀

Tara would make sense bc ong I thought Tara was the killer in 5 bc EVERYTHING pointed to her and she made more sense imo

That Ghostface in the store with the shotgun was sexy idc it was just the energy was so powerful holy fuck and if that's Stu? I'm gonna s/cream 😩 They were experienced and clearly someone we probably already know!....

Istg if they make it some dumbass weak ass character we don't know like them trying to convince us Amber killed Dewey the way she did imma fuckin rage man idc I'm still peeved about it if they do that new character better be so fucking badass and have such a good motive especially if they kill the twins or Gale or Tara

So we all know Ezephr can't actually be redeemed...but he can be 'saved'.

Even Ezephr has people he hates, and they're the entire reason he's even alive right now.

A lot of the people he hunts down and hurts? It's because he's searching for that ONE scientist that escaped the facility when he was getting out of it as a kid...

He also just REALLY wants to ruin all their plans by killing off whatever new subjects they create. His mind is corrupted though and he does willingly harm even the people that have done nothing wrong. He's not doing this for justice bc as I said, he's not redeemable

But there's this last fight against Irza that I've mentioned before, where he finally loses...

What I never said is that he doesn't die

Irza held back slightly to ensure it because he owed Vara greatly, who wanted to let Ezephr live

He is spared and for once Ezephr just looks blank. He's staring at the destroyed facility, the people he ended himself, and his goal having been reached

With all of that done, he no longer has a purpose.

He just...wants to see if, since it was so easy to kill others, he could kill himself

He doesn't get the chance to even test it tho bc Vara interferes immediately and tries to talk to him...

Now I won't tell you the result, but I'll tell you the possible ways this could end in him being saved:

1. They let him just die. Like I've said before, he would simply thank his killer and pass peacefully.

2. He just calms down on his own and tells them to take him in, where he's locked away for the rest of his life, but finally lives without threats and has some peace. No-one could reach him and he would have no-one to kill.

3. They could get him to settle back down, maybe they just convince him to not kill anymore...or at least as often. To leave the innocent alone, as you know Vara would ask. In this one, he'd leave before he could be arrested and just live here and there. With this result, you'd sometimes catch him sitting on buildings, just watching people go about their lives with an indifferent expression. He'd never forget that villain who didn't kill him, and the hero that let him go. He would no longer kill...unless provoked...and probably live in the mountains somewhere....

Those, are how he might be 'saved'

He can never be redeemed, even if he began to save people instead, but he can be saved. You kill and hurt others as much as he has, that even just being saved is something immense and never leaves you...

i see the appeal of "forgiven but not forgotten". glad he can be that.

HONESTLY MOOD i do not see anything wrong with that i mean yeah he's killed so many people but it's on the path of vengeance. if he's gonna exist then let him do what he wants to do

honestly yeah he's an awful person and i agree that he can NOT be redeemed but it's good that there're some scenarios where ezephr himself and people who hate him can give him a second chance :D

absolutely love this and thank you for blessing me with this fact and splurge. absolutely love ezephr to DEATH even though at this point in time i shouldn't DFSJ
