The Fenton family made their way to the Iceberg Lounge, an expensive nightclub located in Gotham City and owned by their uncle, Oswald Cobblepot. It was his birthday, and they had a special gift for him because he loved pinguins. It was pretty hard for Danny and Jazz to get them, so they themselves made their way to his house.
Oswald smiled as he looked at the Fentons and was pretty shocked to see what the gift was from the Fentons.
It was a pair of Petradyptes, the massive prehistoric pingiuns. He had no idea where they found them! But he already loved them. But he would need to hide them from Batman; he doesn't want to explain how he now has an extinct Pingiun race.
Petradyptes is an extinct genus of penguin that lived during the Late Paleocene epoch, between 60 and 55 million years ago.
Nadja is the perfect woman. She’s so intelligent. She’s a fucking idiot. She’s horny. She’s a girlboss. She started a nightclub. She runs the Staten Island Vampire Council with an iron fist She deeply loves her husband. Her favorite movie is Mamma Mia. She hung out with the rat pack in the 60s. She saw a young girl being ignored and immediately turned her into a vampire. Her spirit lives inside a doll version of her. She’s even bisexual.
Nancy Kwan (The World of Suzy Wong, Flower Drum Song, Tamahine)—Nancy Kwan is my faaaaave like you don't understand!! watching her dance in her beautiful chic boudoir in flower drum song—the GRACE of it, the STUNNING BEAUTY. she is everything i've ever wanted to be and more. theeee most beautiful woman of the 60s i don't care what anyone else says! my queen my icon my legend!!
Rita Hayworth (Gilda, Cover Girl)—Absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. She steals every movie she’s in; she was Fred Astaire’s favorite dance partner, as you can see in clips from their movies [link][link]. Born Margarita Carmen Cansino, Rita's story had its tragedies—her father was awful and had her performing in nightclubs way, way too young; the studio totally remade her look because they were afraid of her hispanic image, putting her through painful treatments and diets; she had a string of failed marriages. But beside all that, I think there's something about Rita that still glows through—an inner beauty that has nothing to do with the studio, or the men who pinned their dreams on her. Rita brings an incandescence to roles that's impossible to replicate, and was truly a great actress in that she could switch from herself—shy Margarita—into a bold and glamorous femme fatale so convincingly everyone fell in love with her as Gilda. She's my favorite movie star, and I think she was a beautiful human through and through—Rita, gorgeous and real and shining bright.
This is round 4 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Nancy Kwan:
"askgdshadlg women"
"2 Golden Globes. Was in 15 movies to 1970 and many more after."
"have you seen her? she’s beautiful and love her so much. she also did ballet before acting."
"She was one of the few Asian American starlets of her time, she is graceful beautiful and she had to work a lot at making it big under the circumstances (20th century Hollywood)"
"Ok, this is super niche, but movies for Asian American girls growing up in the 80s was limited. Nancy Kwan is really freaking gorgeous and, while her character in Flower Drum Song is problematic nowadays (i heard she cried when asked to do the lingerie scenes), having an Asian American woman on screen with her own prerogative+agency was formative."

She was not called "the love goddess" for nothing: beautiful, glamorous, despite playing sexy and provocative roles her inherent shyness somehow also would shine through sometimes, creating this contradictory and incredibly attractive image
Often played "the bad girl" who tempted the male hero away from "the good girl"; but did have roles that broke her out of that mold. She was also the inspiration for Jessica Rabbit. THE pinup girlie.

She was soo beautiful when she was young and she MAINTAINED that beauty into her later years and I think that old lady glamour is hot. bombastic sex appeal
every line she delivers in gilda is so flirty and passionate or absolutely desolate and it's so good
Orlando's Parliament House opened in 1962 as part of the Parliament House Motor Inn chain. Throughout the 60s, it became a popular spot for weddings, meetings, was used as the Tupperware World Headquarters and hosted the NAACP legislative conference.
In 1975, the motel was purchased by Bill Miller and Michael Hodge, owners of Orlando's first gay club, the Diamond Head. Due to a lack LGBTQ-friendly spaces in Florida, they decided to transform it into a gay and lesbian resort and nightclub. For the next 45 years, it hosted nightly events and drag shows. The property included an outdoor stage, swimming pool and dance floor. In 2019, it was declared the most popular gay bar in the United States.
That same year, the property closed and was listed for sale for $16.5 million. Demolition began in 2021.
The Whiskey a Go Go is a nightclub in West Hollywood, California, it has also been the home and launch pad for many punk bands. The club opened its doors on January 16, 1964

@randombks's haunting and if i'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes, too.
In working on this, I spent a lot of time looking at mid-century pulp fiction covers by illustrators like Robert McGinnis: I wanted to capture the color and feeling of the nightclub Rey worked in, but also the tension that defines a lot of those covers. I hope I succeeded!
And I wanted to play with canon - Rey's white dress is both a nod to early '60s fashion (albeit a little too low cut, but she is a nightclub singer!) while also being a nod to canon. Similarly, Ben's in black and lingering in the darkness.

The 60-foot sign by architect Kevin Thistle and Young Electric Sign Co. was for a new shopping mall at 3763-3765 Las Vegas Blvd S, built by developer Robert Metz on the former site of Del Rey Motel. The sign was altered for Metz Nightclub in '91, and later an all-purpose signboard. The mall was demolished in 2022.

The soul singer who helped lay the groundwork for Toronto’s music scene has been memorialized outside of the former nightclub where she solidified her career in the ‘60s.
A Heritage Toronto plaque honouring the late Jackie Shane, a transgender musician originally from Nashville, Tenn. who called Toronto home, was unveiled Friday morning in a ceremony marking the start of Pride weekend in the city and officially proclaimed June 23 “Jackie Shane Day.”
“She was someone who made the incredibly, incredibly brave decision to show the world exactly who she was in a time when the world didn’t even have the right words to describe her presence,” Marci Ien, minister for women and gender equality and youth, said at the site of the former Sapphire Tavern at Victoria and Richmond streets.
Shane, who once shared stages with Jimi Hendrix, Etta James, and Little Richard, moved to Toronto in 1959. She landed a residency at the Sapphire and released her biggest hit in 1962, “Any Other Way.” [...]
