I’m big on reminding myself to “be kind” to my own mind, but kindness also means being firm when it matters the most. As adults, we have to learn how to parent *ourselves.*
It’s no ones job anymore to keep our hand out of the fire. So yes, I always try to keep my internal dialogue rooted in love, but that means being honest and firm when it counts BECAUSE I love myself.
I meditate for instance, not to bliss out, but to have more discipline and control over my thoughts so I can practice not being yanked back and forth by any subconscious insecurity, fear, and ego.
