i didn't think bobby's daughter's subplot was very good at the time i was watching the return, but thinking about it more as bobby's story than hers is actually kind of helpful to my own understanding of the series

A RANT:

THE NEON LEON

(I) A rise to leadership

Pun intended bc Leo would love it

Has this been done yet? Of course, but i love ranting about my favorite characters and boy, rise tmnt has so much to rant about (well, the whole tmnt franchise has enough material to speak for HOURS buttt rise lives forever in my heart so yeah i'm biased). Might talk about mutant mayhem in the future idk.

Leonardo Hamato/Splinterson has always been the leader, the one that carries the weight of carrying the team and following splinter's steps as the next "head" of the family (as said by splinter in the 2012 tmnt). And yeah in much of the versions of the turtles, this is a very important aspect of his personality, it's his literal purpose; it's the catalyst for a lot of the narratives and storylines seen across the tmnt universe: His fights with Raph, his anxiety, his inferiority complex, his constant wish to be better, how he sometimes neglects (or simply goes against?)his brother's feelings in order to keep them and the team itself safe.

Being the leader is both the weight and medal that comes with being Leonardo, that sisyphean task that we will always see try to accomplish over and over again.

So if we want to explore why he is a great leader... shouldn't we take that weight off his shoulders?

And that my people, it's what rise does perfectly. The best way to prove that Leo is a great leader? To show us how he can handle the team from the shadows, let us see how well he knows his team's strengths and shortcomings.

But don't just make him want to be the leader, no no, show us why we should all trust him to.

First of all: Leo panicking at the face of danger, might be useful sometimes.

Honest to god: i think the rise writers and animators are amazing. They're so GOOD at showing us important pieces of the characters even without directly saying it.

First of all, he doesn't have a fight or flight response because he straight up waves his ōdachi directly at anything that attacks him and his brothers (bro has kill om sight sense, he literally sliced warren one time, remember?). He will always have the advantage, even when surprised. Also the way he lightens up the situation with his witty banter and one liners when stress is too much? Extra points for keeping team morale up👍

Or in a different case, leo's panic when the mad dogs get in trouble upon a stronger rival. Why is it great? Because even though he's losing his absolute shit, he's able to act and take the next conscious step; even when it's used for laughs: He calls for his father when his family is in danger. It may sometimes be a funny gag ; like in "Flushed but never forgotten" or soul fucking wrenching like when they're attacked by shredder and RAPH IS PROTECTING DONNIE AND LEO SCREAMS AND I- *ehem*. But he knows splinter it's capable of defending them, he trained them after all (this may be arguable when talking about season 1 splint but well, he still recognizes his father as a ninja and his master).

And thus, the next marvel of Leo:

B) He's completely aware of the team's abilities

He's a middle child, he has seen everything, and the most perfect example of it: Many unhappy returns.

BOY IF THAT'S NOT THE MOST AMAZING DEMONSTRATION OF LEO'S LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY IDK WHAT ELSE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

He trusts his siblings completely, sure he looks out for them and supports them when needed (while being sarcastic about it), but he knows they're amazing at the hero thing.

I wouldn't doubt it if Splinter; being with Leo most of the episode saw just how in control he was of the situation and went: "dude...why are you not the one leading the team? You're...actually so smart wtf????"

C)He knows how to dial down his brother's enthusiasm and calls out his father's faults (and sometimes hypocrisy)

Remember the paper thieves episode?

That's peak leader Leo

The whole team was full on trying to get killed for the lols, and what does he do? Pulls them to the side and explains why they should start with something more simple and gives a speech on why focusing on the "easier task" it's still a good hero job (look out for the small/weaker ones, right?)

Not only that, but he's the one that constantly calls out his dad's mess ups, remaining by his brother's side and defending them (THIS IS NOT A SPLINTER SLANDER, I'M SAD DAD SUPPORTER AND I WILL TALK ABOUT IT LATER) seen as one of the YouTube shorts or when splints nags then about keeping secrets from him: he stands for his team, "you are not supposed to do that/you do the same thing you yell at us for"

He both inspires and defends his team, and hey; a leader is not the one that orders, but the one that motivates and supports you.

D) He's their personal hype man

Cue back to point B, he is amazed by his siblings abilities, even if he dies hide it sometimes. Remember when mikey wanted to go on a solo mission? He's fully on board and never doubts mikey is in control of the situation (sure he does go to "save him" with the others later on but come on, you all heard the call and saw Raph panicking. He trusts him but he's still his little brother y'know?)

He knows Donnie is an absolutely genious and is completely aware of Raph's dedication to the hero gig and responsability.

April and Splints? He knows they're completely capable of holding their own and willingly helps them when the situation calls for it.

And this is it please be free to add anything you might like and tell me if i'm making sense??? Idk i just love him a lot😞

HECK EVEN CASEY, A LITERAL BOY HE JUST MET. He is aware of casey's passion and abilities; i mean, if his own future self trusts him as the only one capable to fix everything, why shouldn't he?

Conclusion: Leo quite literally grew to deserve the role of the leader.

I don't have a specific idea, but I read one of your fics, and the idea of Giyuu being little and autistic made SO much sense to me, so I was thinking about something with this prompt, and caregiver! Shinobu, if that's okay with you? It's just this idea is so sweet aghhhh

Giyuu was surprisingly agreeable when he wanted to be. Even if Shinobu had to work long hours or the butterfly house was crowded and noisy then a quiet Giyuu would be content to hide in Kocho’s room and simply wait all day. Shinobu rarely took care of the little ones herself, often too busy or too tired to give proper care, but Giyuu could only manage to regress around a select few people. Rengoku and Mitsuri could work on occasion but considering they were often just as busy it wasn’t as if they could travel to care for their friend. Kagaya was the only other person Tomioka trusted but as his condition worsened the hashira saw less and less of him.

Still Kocho was happy to watch over Giyuu on the rare occasions he slipped for a day or two. It meant that after a long day of work she could come back to her room and find him wrapped up in her sheets and keeping them warm. Tomioka always worked himself into the oddest of positions, shifting and twisting until he curled up in a little ball underneath the covers.

Right now his arms were pulled inside of his shirt and wrapped around his waist, Knees were bent upwards and ankles crossed. Overall Giyuu looked like he was trying to imitate an egg.

As Shinobu approached he slowly peaked out from the cocoon he wrapped himself up in. One finger slowly inched its way towards Tomioka’s mouth while his other hand stretched out towards her.

“Hi baby how are you doing?” Immediately Kocho placed a gentle kiss on the man’s forehead and ran her fingers through his hair. It was loose around his shoulders and clung to his cheeks.

In response Tomioka simply grunted and wrapped one of his hands around her haori. The minute she leaned into the bed he in turn leaned into her. Shinobu couldn’t bear his weight normally but with the matress as support she was willing to let the man rest on top of her. She hadn’t even changed yet— not originally intending to lie down this soon —but it was likely that Giyuu would not be happy if she left soon, even for a brief moment.

“How was your day baby?” It’s hard to even move Tomioka’s body but eventually Kocho pulls him into a position where she’s not getting completely crushed. “Did you stay in here the whole time?” Aoi sometimes drops off meals for the boy but whether or not he would’ve eaten them unprompted in this state is unclear. It’s most likely he just drifted in and out of sleep.

Still Kocho won’t get a proper answer when all the noises that come from his mouth are unintelligible grumbles. As cute as the attempts to communicate are Shinobu can’t decipher them. She wouldn’t be in a place to scold him anyways considering how little she’d eaten that day. The thought of food travels down to her stomach which begs for something.

It was a hard task to pull herself away from Giyuu but the more she lays there the more Kocho realizes that they’re both half-starving. Slowly she pulls herself out from underneath the boy. Moving delicately could soften the blow of her absence but Giyuu was still smart enough to realize what was happening and start whining the minute she wasn’t completely attached to him.

“I’m gonna get us a treat!” Shinobu tried to placate him with soft words and softer pokes to his abdomen, fingers trying to squeeze out a laugh or two. Instead the hashira simply tensed and let out more disgruntled noises. His attempts to push her hands off were weak and slow but Shinobu acquiesced and pulled away. “You better not be so grumpy when I get back.” She playfully grabbed his nose and wiggled it, finally earning a somewhat happy gurgle in return.

With the thought of Tomioka waiting for her Shinobu moves quickly. There’s always fresh food waiting in the kitchen and the woman quickly scoops up two bowls of rice porridge. There’s already sugar and fruit mixed in so she doesn’t need to waste more time adding flavor. The only other thing she stops to grab is a bottle, which someone (probably Aoi) has already prepared and is waiting in the icebox.

The trip takes barely five minutes but when she gets back Tomioka has already curled up under the sheets again. Kocho peels the sheets off of him and presses a few kisses against his cheeks. “Come on we’re not going to bed quite yet.” It’s hard to coax him upwards but eventually she manages to get him in a somewhat proper position.

Somehow she expected Giyuu to be less of a messy eater when someone else did most of the work. It was easy to assume the fault was that of his clumsy hands. Quickly it became clear that the problem was actually the fact that the man couldn’t keep his damn head still. Every time the chopsticks neared his lips Tomioka would move to meet them and instead bump his cheek and smear food over it. If Shinobu waited for him to move first then he would suddenly sit still until finally the mixture dripped onto his chest instead. For now the woman simply gave up on keeping either of them clean. It’d be easier to just change afterwards.

Kocho felt better once she’d eaten. She had intended on dinner being a quick affair but with having to feed Tomioka as well it took much longer than intended. She hadn’t even given him the bottle yet, which he probably wouldn’t take on his own. There was also about half of portion of okayu staining him clothes, specks had even made their way into his hair somehow. Giyuu would only let the woman bathe him in the most dire of situations so he’d have to deal with sticky hair until he could do the work himself.

She does help him strip down to his undergarments however and does the same. Crawling in the bed beside him Kocho takes care to grab the bottle and not spill any of the milk. As her arms wrap around him she slips the nib of the bottle into his mouth. He’ll probably fall asleep before finishing it but Kocho can add in milk soaked sheets to the rest of the laundry in the morning.

Sun god Aten and... love goddess Hathor?

So I'm not an expert myself but I was hearing a podcast about underrated love gods (Valentine coming up and all that shadda shadda) and Hathor came up and I was like "yooo, you sound familiar?"

And then I remembered it. It was like 2 years ago when I looked her up briefly bc someone made a Yuunoa theory and the gist of it was that if Yuu is/represents sun god Aten and if the cover of Vol 23 (see below) implies that Shinoa is/represents the goddess of the moon (I don't remember her name, but I think it was a goddess that was linked to cats/had the head of a cat) then that could be a foreshadowing of Yuunoa being endgame bc those 2 gods are married in the Egyptian mythology

Anyways, the op of that post got fact-checked by the whole comment section (lol). That moon goddess they were talking about is portrayed as Aten's daughter more often than not, is love goddess Hathor the one who's usually portrayed as Aten's wife and mother of his children (Note: including Aten/Ra*, Hathor had lots of spouses but all of them were related to the sun)

*Note #2: Aten and Ra are confusing to me but it seems like they are different entities, but there's a moment when Ra merges with Aten, though Idk if it's permanent or temporary

I didn't say anything at the time, but to me, the more I learn about Hathor the more I believe that there is a character who could represent her: Mika

1- The entity of many forms

Even though Hathor is known for being the goddess of love and motherhood, it seems that binding her to just a concept is unfair bc Hathor is known as the goddess of the many faces or forms. This is a little confusing to me, but she seems to have many roles. For ex, not only is she Ra's wife and lover but she can also be his protector if needed (more on this later). The way I connect this to Mika is that he's the character that passed through the most forms along the story: from angel to human to vampire to demon

2- Motherhood

I don't think this should be a surprise but I always thought one of Mika's most prominent traits is how motherly he is. He takes cares of others, he protects, he loves. We don't get to see this side of him often in the present (unless it's Yuu) bc of his trust issues, but I think it's noticeable how much he cares about others. And if that is not convincing enough, let me remind you of Mika's biggest desire: have his family back. In the dream Yuu and Mika took care of the other children, made food for everyone, bathed them, etc., Mika even jokes that they're like their parents and if that doesn't scream family-oriented then I don't know what does

3- The first vampire

I mentioned before how one of Hathor's forms is to become Ra's protector, right? Well, there's a story of how Ra mistrusted the humans and thought they were conspiring against him, so he sent Hathor in the form of Sekhmet to earth to punish everyone that was scheming against him. At some point Sekhmet tasted blood and, no longer caring about her divine job, she let her bloodlust run wild to the point she almost destroyed humanity. Sekhmet is the first vampire in mythology that we have records of. Not only do I tie this to Mika bc of his former vampirism but also bc his protection of Yuu was at his peak when he was a vampire

okay so this movie has made me her bitch and I've been obssesing over it since I first watched it so I decided to give in and rewatch it only to analyze every single homoerotic interaction between these two gorgeous teen psychos bc we all agree we were robbed of one of the most complicated, chaotic and promising sapphic ships right???

it's not surprising that, were she to reciprocate eleanor's feelings without realizing it (which I'm sure she did), along with eleanor's coming out had her going through some intense realizations that as a pre pubescent trying to fit in she couldn't handle for the time being and thus reacting the way she did.

i’ve never felt like less of a fan until recently like ever since they blew up even bigger than before i just don’t really watch them anymore

i put on the first conjuring video because it was solo but i don’t know that i’ll watch the rest

it’s just so weird to me because i’ve been a fan since well before they did haunted(2017) so i’ve watched them grow and grow and i’m seriously so proud of them for the achievements they’ve gotten and i just never expected to fall out of love with them at what could possibly be their peak

maybe it’s bc i don’t like anyone they associate with anymore?

is that weird ?😭 idk i just feel so detached from them as of lately

That happens, and it's perfectly normal, too! Detaching, losing interest, or moving away from a piece of media or person you were a fan of is perfectly ok. You gain other interests, move on to other things, find something that sparks the same joy in you that the previous person or thing once did. It's not an inherently bad thing, even if it is a little sad to leave that old thing behind- it's just a part of life.

And honestly? Sometimes, just taking a break for a while (especially from the fandom side of things) or not consuming everything they put out is really all you need. If the video they are putting out doesn't interest me, I simply don't watch. The worst thing you can do is suffer through a video you don't like because you feel you owe it to them to do so. You don't owe them that, I promise. They make the content for the people who enjoy it, and if that's not you 100% of the time, thats totally OK.

I'll let you in on a little secret - I have never, still to this day, watched all of the videos they did in Europe last year. I think I watched the one with the streamers at least part of the way through, but not the others. I just wasn't feeling them, or the whole "Core 4 Does Europe" thing at the time. I was tired of hearing about it and all the drama surrounding it. I knew if I watched those videos, it would just make me unhappy...so I simply didn't. And that was probably the best thing I could have done for myself, because I went into their next series a little lighter, happier and refreshed than I would've if I had previosuly forced myself to watch something I knew I wouldn't like.

I've been in and out of a lot of fandoms over the years, and I've learned that life- and fandoms- move on. Sometimes, you come back after some time away and fall in love with the content all over again- this time with nostalgia as an added twist, which is beautiful. Sometimes, you step just far back enough to become a casual fan, which helps a lot. Sometimes, you never go back again. But, all of it is valid and all of it is based on what makes you happy. Fandoms are here for your happiness, not the happiness of the person whose creating the content in question.

And it's also totally normal to be able to love and support somewhere from afar! Trust me, I have a lot of fandoms that I haven't set a foot in for years now- but I also wish the people involved in those fandoms well, and always have a soft spot for them.

Anyway, thus was very long and probably not what you wanted so I apologize lol. Basically, it's OK to step back and support them from afar, or to skip some of their content, or to just feel like their content isn't up to the standards you feel it was previously. That is all valid, and none of it is bad in any way, shape or form! ❤️

So now!! The waited part two AND ch 16 of WDS IS HERE!!!✨✨✨✨✨ AM SCREAMING

I really really love how when i wake up at like idk 7 AM or so in the morning only to see multiple notification and one of those are your fic notification!! It makes me already giddy and stimmimg trying to calm my heart before i start reading and then stops remembering i have a morning routine to do first before that!!

So back to the review (trust me, my heart STILL beating fast even remembering the fic✨✨ that's how badly am excited!), We start back at the kids FIGHTING tooth and nail for our peepaw's attention! I just looves it, it's funny and oddly wholesome, and leo begin a grumpy old man - with too much PTSD in that shell - is just sitting there and watching the drama unfolds while trying - keyword trying but not hard enough - to stop them ONLY to be saved by old man splinter 😂

Man why do i feel splinter WANTS to say " get use to it because it's gonna happen daily " and walk as the ghost brothers and sister give them their privacy that they needed, it is right that after the scary battle, the injuries and taking care of everybody? Big blue didn't have his time to let... Well.. Everything sink in his brain! It's like delay panic.

I feel so happy that splinter asked f!leo to go with him shopping because he not only needed some sort of quite but quality time with his dad! So they teleport to hidden city market and it does remind me of few funny things (something relate to my memories when i was just a little girl).

Splinter giving leo ONE job to do and he fail miserably - i don't kinda blame him, IT'S BEEN 20 YEARS! -.

I... LOVE how he is able to avoid scammers and pickpocketers, this screams how well aware leo is and i LOVE IT!! The cool vibes of " i may be old but don't mess with me! " vibes 🤩

He finally meets the 03 cat klunk! (03 tmnt Mikey had an orange cat i don't remember if it was named klunk or not), and just knowing her lower part is broken just BREAK my sensitive heart, i can't bear to see an animal hurt THIS bad especially if they can't defend themselves.

And we reach the 2nd part the spoiled clip part of the store owner, before we continue this guy reminded me of that one background guy in cass apocalypse comic where he was screaming at casey when leo turned smol? Remember him? Yeah he reminds me of that guy.

So back at store owner he drops jokes, insults and comments left and right - missus pfft - and we reach that champion pants, believe me i almost SCREAMED FOR THAT PANTS!! THEY FIT HIM!! tho he didn't wear it yet - wait is I'm blue fic, big blue wear them?? -

I honestly never thought leo would drop the WHOLE summary of his existence and war to the store owner but man, HE BELIEVED HIM?!?! WUT?!

So NOW leo - with cute little Klunk - going to find ol' splinter and he's fighting so hard for a discount - ngl that reminds me of my mom, she fought a guy for 15% discount - and then dropping the tea!🤣 i honestly wished i was there to egg him on " spill the tea sis! Spill the tea! ".

Leo luckily went back home without much difficulty only to see a new challenger had been added to the fight... CJ! Now my bet is with CJ! He will kick ass.

Am glad Klunk was there to calm everyone down because i think they would've been to the second phase; using REAL weapons.

I think because leo was older he was weak against orange's puppy eyes - AND EVEN SAID WE TOOK DONNIE IN 😂😂😂😂-.

But then realize blue is missing and that gets me worried a bit, maybe it's the part where he and blue play video games? Hopefully.

Leonardo not trying hard enough to stop the teens from acting up and messing around the lair is peak fatherhood. As long as he doesn’t hear crying then they’re okay /j

Delayed panic is perfect for Leonardo’s situation lol, it was one after the other for him. He honestly didn’t get a true moment of rest.

Splinter is lowkey trying to solve the issue with Leonardo referring to him as “Splinter” instead of “Dad”/hj. Gotta spend quality time with Leonardo to fix, even if Leonardo can’t do the one thing he asked lol

Leonardo’s awareness being so high is so important to me you don’t even know /j he won’t let any detail slip past him

Yes Klunk! I honestly spent a good amount of time thinking about what to name the kitty but then I remembered 03 Mikey’s cat and thought to give the kitty the same name as homage or I guess Easter egg to a really good show

The yokai clothing hop owner that Leonardo met was kind of inspired by the real talkative (questionable) guy from the first chapter of DMD hehe. But selling the champion pants is totally not referring to the battle nexus (in a silly way, we won’t be getting Leonardo in big mama’s ring) but I like to think that there are yokai who sell off brand battle nexus champ merch lol

And Leonardo admitting to his creation (although twisting the truth to seem a little more believable for the yokai) made me laugh a little because he said it either such conviction that it was believable lol

Leonardo returning to the chaos was a struggle there were so many people to take account for in writing but blue going missing kind of makes it easier

Sadly we won’t be getting the moment where Leonardo and blue play games and that won’t happen until Casey jr gets into school. :)

Rhys and Rowan. I find this two are strangely different creature. Like very different.Same goes with Aelin and Feyre. I have this weird and unsettling feeling where i feel that Rowan would not like Rhys.

It was as if Rowan first met Rhys, he will be friendly, nice and warm. But as he goes deeper into this relationship, meet the IC. Rown will question this male dressed in Burberry Black and his friends. Unlike Rhys, Rowan is not blindly loyal. We have the Cadre and Maeve, the whole scene of Rowan wife and unborn child die. I am so surprised when he decided to leaves the cadre and maeve. Like you only know aelin less than a year.

The Cadre were around him (i knew he were depressed when he join cadre, it us said maeve make him?) But he is close to gavriel. He leaves them, he ready to set and sail with Aelin. He ready to open and venture his heart to a new possibility. I found this endearing tbh. Mind you, he have gone to war with the cadre. Just like Rhys and the batboys.

But unlike the IC, i feel as the cadre feel more healthy. Did they brawl? Yes. Did they open up to each other? As far as we know Gavriel and Rowan yes. Lorcan? Keep on dreaming. But somehow the fact Gavriel seek Rowan when he lost his man make me warm, make me feel safe. Very unlikely of the IC. I remember Gavriel and Fenrys calling out (or maybe mock, sorry i dont remember) Rowan for 'washing hands of them' at the island. This too, i feel as they can tell each other their opinion and get punch in the face then move on. The fact they can voice it out and respect of each other.

Did rowan punch aelin? Yes, they hate each other at that time. Like feyre and rhys utm. No excuses, damage done. Did rowan tell aelin to die? Yes, peak of their hatred that time. No excuses, damages done. But there is something about rowan i cant comprehend that is telling me, he will dislike rhys. And if he ever meet Rhys, lets say crossing world is possible, Rowan might brawl with Aelin to shut their portal door close.

Rowan feel like a man with code and principle. More discipline and yes, I trust this man if he is assigned to take care of my younger sibling at the daycare. Maybe because he is not self-righteous?i am not sure. But he will be wary indeed if he ever meets Rhys. Eyebrow lifted if he learns Rhys keeps feyre pregnancy from her. I know rowan is also questionable and i am not justifying his action. You sucks sometime Rowan. Maybe a lot of time too but this man? Something about him is right. The type of friends you joke in class but he corrected you. Yeah, that is rowan perhaps.

And i feel there is more of Rowan. Idk but i feel his action often shoved aside by Aelin as Aelin keep secret of her plan a lottgg. Hahahaahah, it was kinda funyy tbh because I remember Rowan losing his mind over it. 3 books of rowan is not enough, i want more of him but cant help wanting to punch his face sometime.

Do share with your opinion or pointed out my mistake in interpreting Rowan, it has been a while since I read tog.

Tbh I'm not keen on either of them, but I do think Rowan would smack Rhys for keeping the pregnancy thing secret. I think Rhys and Aelin are very similar in that they don't trust others enough to share details (and Bryce has gone that way too). I agree that the Cadre did feel more like a group of friends than the weirdly dependent IC who also get paid by Rhys to be his friends lmao

It really just Gets Me when I write how devoted they are to each other. Like there's just nothing in the world they wouldn't do for each other and sometimes I think about that so hard I have to go lie down. It's so good. I'm floating face-down in a river like Ophelia.

I don't think I ever have written a fic for a specific holiday before! Not for lack of interest, but because I always seem to have everything happening all the time. I guess I had that New Year's Eve bit in Happy Hour but idk that feels like it doesn't count.

I'd really like to write a Halloween fic one of these days, because I love Halloween and I think I could do something fun with it.

Téa sagged over a laptop, fingers flying paradoxically fast over the keyboard. “What are we logging this one as?”

“A shade,” Atem answered. “Below freezing, recoiled from light, tried to isolate us.”

“Could be a wraith,” Joey argued. “It was nasty enough.”

“No, it didn’t have a face. Trust me, I got close enough to check.”

Joey shivered in disgust. “Shade it is.”

“There’s one sure way to find out,” Téa said. “Ryou?”

“Can you hand the capsule up, Yugi?” Ryou asked. No response. “Yugi?”

Yugi sat motionless against the back of the van, frozen in place. Literally.

Thin sheets of ice formed on the ends of the capsule, crystalizing and coating his fingers, creeping up his hands. His eyes stared wide into the blank void, deathly pale and shivering.

“Atem, we need help!” Ryou shouted, rushing to his side.

Jyn/Cassian - I do ship it

1. What made you ship it?

The way they orbit each other in the movie, the magnetic pull between them, the way they argue but also back each other up, trust goes both ways and the way Alexander Freed wrote the novelization ("He hadn't known her, didn't know her, of course. There wasn't the time," still lives in my head rent-free and made me want to give them the time!) and GOOD LORD, the way they look at each other in the elevator scene. There was so much in canon, but also just enough held back that I was left hungry for more-- and that is a sweet spot for me to want to engage with a ship.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

I will admit that I STILL haven't seen Andor (the stars haven't aligned), so all my Cassian opinions are filtered through something of the old school Festian backstory lens-- I'm not sure if that's relevant here, but I want to say The Mirror Hurts is a thing I like about Rogue One and I just... love the idea of these two traumatized people who have been steeped in The Fight since they were young coming together and fitting their jagged edges into place next to each other and stealing comfort and companionship in the middle of The Cause they both believe in? Idk. I love when they're united in the fight against the Empire, but also finding moments of peace. Taking care of each other. Choosing to be vulnerable and trust each other.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I haven't interacted with the Rebelcaptain fandom in YEARS (sorry) and have lost track of any kind of discourse. I left a Discord Server because it got too Loud for me and I remember a few folks got touchy about some of us saying we viewed Jyn and Cassian both as queer/bisexual, so I suppose that's one unpopular opinion I had back in the day? There are No Straights in Space when I'm writing them!

My Bullshit Heteronormative Hierarchy of Sex Acts post was also written in response to some trends I was seeing in Rebelcaptain fics (but it is also very much a rant about larger fandom trends in smut writing).

OH, I still don't think Jyn or Cassian had very many sexual partners before they are with each other (I'm married to my Melshi/Cassian Friendly Exes headcanon though, oops). I DO see Cassian as some shade of grey-ace. I don't think he fucked anyone for a mission. I don't see them breaking up once they get together, even if things are rocky at times. Maybe those are unpopular ideas, I have no idea anymore.

Leia/Jyn/Cassian - I (regrettably) do not ship it, sorry!

1. Why don't you ship it?

I think I see Jyn/Cassian as so magnetic toward each other that it's difficult for me to think of them with anyone else? That said, I have read and spitballed fic stuff about them with other people. For some reason Leia never made it to my list?

It's not even that I'm a die-hard Leia/Han shipper! I don't feel particularly fannish about that ship... Maybe I've never felt particularly fannish about Leia??? I love her, I do, I really do--and there's a soft place in my heart for dark-haired girls with blonde-haired twin brothers for personal reasons. But I was always looking at Luke, growing up! And I've always been more invested in the siblinghood between Luke and Leia than I ever have been interested in her in romantic relationships.

I think I have trouble with the Leia/Cassian side of the OT3... maybe because I'm used to Leia being sort of Adversarial in her relationship dynamics? She bickers as a love language and I don't see Cassian bickering with her. Jyn probably would though.

2. What would have made you like it?

I'm not OPPOSED to the ship, so I could be convinced by a fic! But I think Leia/Cassian is a hard sell for me, for some reason????

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

They would really be a power trio in the Rebellion. Unstoppable. They would get SO MUCH SHIT DONE.

Why don't I ship it? I prefer them as just friends, or even close friends unlike what canon did with them. They're good together just not as gfs

What would've made you like it? Nothing lol it's not bad or anything but yeah, just friends

Anything positive to say about it? Still leagues better than Arkos, also it's cute

Freezerburn (Weiss x Yang): ship!

What made you ship it? The meme potential, I'm not even joking this ship doesn't have nearly as much angst potential as the others and I love it, just a cute lil funny ship

Favorite thing about the ship? The dynamic is hilarious but also has alot of fluff potential

Unpopular opinion on it? Definitely don't want it to be canon, I'm not with ships being within the same team whatsoever

Purrha (Blake x Pyrrha): don't ship

Why don't I ship it? It just doesn't click for me, they don't have anything in common that I can think of nor are they on the "opposites attract" side, they just exist

What would've made you like it? Maybe if they shared something or a plot point that would've helped with putting them together idk

Anything positive to say about it? The ship name is funny? XD

Violyn (Vi x Caitlyn): don't ship but I don't mind it being canon (to make things clear I'll be talking about the show version of their characters not the game, I prefer the game's)

Why don't you ship it? I don't think they fit? Or I'm just not interested enough in Caitlyn (unlike her game counterpart) so it makes it harder to care about the ship as a whole

What would've made you like it? Put game Caitlyn instead lol

Anything positive to say about it? Good funny scenes and they had nice build up, it wasn't rushed nor shoved too much in our face to make me dislike it

Sulemio (Suletta x Miorine): ship I think?

I haven't watched the anime yet but I'm planning to so I don't really have anything to say other than the aesthetic and fanart are cool and Suletta is bby

Kuromiko/Mikokuro (Mikoto x Kuroko): SHIP!!

What made you ship it? The dynamic, the plot and angst potential especially if Kuroko knew about the clones but the writer is a pussy , the way Kuroko is a tsundere to everyone but Mikoto is too wholesome, also how despite being a gremlin cat Mikoto trusts Kuroko with her life (I'll just ramble forever if I keep going so this has to do lol)

Favorite thing about the ship? They're funny and wholesome together, and best fighting duo that also has the potential to be op. Also the angst thanks to them both being stubborn idiots

Unpopular opinion on it? The way it is in canon is very unhealthy thanks to Touma being a thing but if it was written better it would be amazing, also Kuroko being a pervert can be too much and I don't appreciate how the show glosses over her not taking no for an answer when Mikoto is clearly uncomfortable in most scenes

Chisataki (Chisato x Takina): ship

Haven't watched it yet but I've seen too many scenes and spoilers I know they fit well together, also alot of angst

Aerti (Aerith x Tifa): don't ship

I absolutely know nothing about final fantasy but from the fanart that I've seen I'm not really a fan of the aesthetic, they seem too bland
