OH MY GODDD THE NEW TRAILBLAZE MISSION IT’S SO GOOD BUT ALSO NONE OF MY THOUGHTS ARE COHERENT AAAAA
Major spoilers for 2.1 ahead!!!!
So first off to the people that voted for Aventurine and Sunday in this poll how does it feel to be right?
ANYWAY THAT WHOLE ENDING WAS FUCKING INSANEEEE, Aventurine walking INTO the Nihility????? And he might not ever come back???? Acheron showing off the true extent of her emanator powers?????? Gallagher being the twist villain and also somehow in control of Something Unto Death???? What the fuck?!
My brain is a mess right now I’m just rotating all of the story in my brain and a hundred miles a minute. The next stuff is just going to be me word vomiting my reaction to stuff in a vaguely chronological order.
First off I LOVEEE how Aventurine-focused the Trailblaze mission was. I was kind of assuming it would be a 50/50 split between focusing on Acheron and focusing on Aventurine but it seems like they’re saving Acheron’s backstory for 2.2 or 2.3.
The little appearance of Boothill??? And how he immediately threatens violence?????? Just a silly guy I can’t wait for him in 2.2 I wanna see them fight. Also I wonder if Constance is making empty promises because it’s possible.
Back to Aventurine, DAMNNN I knew his backstory would be tragic but it’s even more gut wrenching than I expected. The reference in his achievements too??? ‘What do you want Sibyl?’ ‘I want to die.’ THE PROGRESSION FROM AVENTURINE STICKING WITH THIS UNTIL THE END WHERE EVEN THOUGH HE COULD POSSIBLY DIE FOR REAL YET HE DECIDES FO CONTINUE FORWARD BECAUSE EVEN IF WE’RE BORN TO DIE THERE’S A POINT IN LIVING LIFE AND PREPARING FOR THAT INEVITABILITY???? OH MY GOD.
Sunday’s also a scary dude. Maybe being an emanator does that to people but when he did that Harmony mindfuckery on Aventurine I was almost certain that he was going to die because of that. I was also SO pissed at Ratio for selling Aventurine out only to learn they were actually double crossing SUNDAY was insane. I’m glad he finally got to be angry about Robin’s death towards the end though, most of the downtime between 2.0 and 2.1 has been me wondering ‘man his sister just died why doesn’t he feel more distressed.’
Ngl I’m probably gonna dedicate a whole post to Aventurine in this update because 90% of the time I was playing the quest I was either thirsting over him, internally sobbing for him, thinking he was gonna die, or waiting to get back to his POV.
Gallagher is one hell of an enigma because Sunday implies that he’s made up of different ‘aspects’ of each Family member who’s died over however long the dreamscape deaths have been happening, yet he has a past with Siobhan and apparently knew Mikhail??? Like what the fuck????? How long has this been going on????
(Edit: so the use of ‘enigma’ was NOT a pun, when I played the trailblaze quest someone goofed up and forgot to add the line where Sunday calls Gallagher a follower of The Enigmata. Yeah that’s a pretty big lore drop to forget to add.)
I do wish it was foreshadowed slightly better though because the most we get is him being very vaguely sad about his past and also like two people going ‘who the hell is Gallagher.’
One thing I didn’t expect to happen was for a ‘Sam is Firefly’ reveal. Like I had seen the leaks before (not out of my own will sadly) and kind of expected for it to be a 2.2 reveal. Either way yayyyy Firefly is alive!!!
I’m sad that we didn’t really have an Acheron and Welt team up, or at least that we didn’t see more of it. It was kind of hyped up to be a whole B-plot but turned out to only be a few scenes. I’m not complaining because we get a little teeny bit of Welt characterisation but I’m still sad.
I like how Sparkle kind of just shows up to either be a nuisance or a conveniently timed piece to move the plot forward. It’s very fitting with being a Masked Fool.
There’s a lot more I want to scream about but it’s all Aventurine related and I’m gonna save it for its own dedicated post.
2.1 is so fucking good 2.2 and 2.3 better stick the landing.

Another Lifetime | Gojo Satoru x Fem! Reader
I caught up with the manga and I think I'm going insane.
I was gonna make him a yandere but i switched up in the middle lol
ig i write for jujutsu kaisen now to yippie
Yall ever have those fucked up dreams of having a child or taking care of them only to wake up and realize your child doesn't exist, and will never exist?
If you do, then you can understand how Gojo acts in this story.
If you don't...just imagine how it feels to lose the closest person or animal to you, and for the entire world ignore the fact that you lost them and expects you to pretend they never existed in the first place. Something like that.
Something is wrong. Very wrong. You can feel it in your bones. Everything's the same, but different.
This... Gojo Satoru is not your Satoru.
What had happened that day? If only you were there to witness it. It was the first time you heard that the Gojo Satoru had fainted.
When he wakes up, he smiles, like his usual cheery self. But something's different. There's a hint of grief.
Everyone else seems to think he's fine. But perhaps its because they don't know him how you know him.
But now, do you even know him?
Day by day, he starts to stick less and less to his morals. He feels empty, a terrifying attribute for a man deemed the strongest. You just hope this Gojo Satoru will stay on the 'good' side.
Or maybe you never knew him at all.
Maybe, he held a facade, even in front of you. Maybe he was that broken this whole time. You wonder what happened that day.
But that's the past. Now...You wondered if you would survive today. It was no longer comforting, being alone with...Gojo was now a frightening experience.
"[name]." He smiled at you, yet it felt cold. Cruel. Evil.
"Yes, Gojo?" You answer back. He pauses.
"...You no longer call me Satoru." He is very close to you. It's suffocating.
"I thought you'd like to be called more formally." His smile drops. It's eerily silent, his eye pierce into you, seemingly tearing you apart until nothing is left.
"I see. Well! That's not what I really wanted to tell you!" And just like that, Gojo is happy. You can no longer tell if he means it or not.
"I escaped! That day-I was set free." He's spouting nonsense again. What does that mean?
"[name]." He grabs your wrist tightly. "are you afraid? Do you not like...the real me?"
The real him?
"Gojo, what nonsense are you spouting. Of course I like you." He smiles again.
"Just wanted to make sure. ⁱ ᵗʰⁱⁿᵏ ⁱ'ᵐ ᵍᵒⁱⁿᵍ ᶜʳᵃᶻʸ."
You exchange a few more sentences, and part ways. As you walk away, you can feel his eyes boring into your back, looking into your soul.
It's chilling. Gojo isn't smiling. Blood...Blood everywhere. Is this the day humanity ends?
"Gojo! What are you doing!?" You shout at him.
He turns around to face you. "Ah! [name]!" A smile that could only be perceived in nightmares appears on his face. "I got rid of them. They were going to hurt our family!"
You freeze.
He sees your reaction, and only grins in response.
"That day, I died. I really died. I couldn't use reversed curse technique. It was scary. 'How am I here then?' you might wonder."
He looks deranged, hysterical.
"It wasn't Jujutsu. A whole entire third world opened up." His face contorts to agony. "I lived a whole entire new life [name]! Free from curses, free from Jujutsu! We got married! We had a child, [name], a child! I was so happy-and, and-" He sounds crazy. He grips his hair, almost to the verge of pulling it out. "in a single moment-it all disappeared when I somehow came back to life."
--------
I...had a child? No, no, this is just him trying to get into your head!
--------
"It's not real."
"BUT IT IS, [NAME]. OUR DAUGHTER-SHE WAS REAL. ⁱ⁻ⁱ ʲᵘˢᵗ ʷᵃⁿᵗ ᵐʸ ᵇᵃᵇʸ ᵇᵃᶜᵏ…" He mumbles the last part. He crumbles to the ground, a sobbing mess.
This man...he is your Satoru. Just...broken.
But...if it's your Satoru, then you can accept it.
"Satoru..." You bend down. You're... crying.
He looks up at you, eyes red. "ʸᵒᵘ⁻ʸᵒᵘ ᶜᵃˡˡᵉᵈ ᵐᵉ ᵇʸ ᵐʸ ᶠⁱʳˢᵗ ⁿᵃᵐᵉ…" His voice is weak.
"I'm sorry." You pull him into a tight hug. "I'm sorry I couldn't accept you and comfort being at your lowest point."
The two of you hug for a long time, until Satoru pulls out a glass orb of sorts which glows a faint gold color. "Satoru?...What...What is this?"
"My baby...Our baby. I can bring her back, [name]."
But nothing's ever free in this cursed world.
"What price...must be paid?..."
He starts to sniffle, and breaks out into tears again. "I have to kill people [name]. I hate this. I hate this so much."
You pause. "How many?..."
"A thousand lives."
It honestly wasn't a hard decision. You hold your daughter's soul securely, then standing up.
"[n-name]?" Satoru looks up at you, wiping his tears away, just as yours start to pour.
"Satoru. From this day on, I will become a curse user. I'll take the blame. You have never hurt an innocent person, and I will have claimed a thousand lives. One day we'll meet again. Let me do this for you, please."
--------
It was terrible. Satoru knew that one day, your fate's would intertwine again. And on that day, you'd take your last breath.
"Under Jujutsu Regulations, t-the curse user known as [n-name]-he choked out a sob-[l. name] must be executed."
It was the first time after the day you left him, that he had cried again.
You didn't put up a fight. You smiled as blood poured out of your mouth. You held a piece of paper in your hand when you died.
It read:
I ᴅɪᴅ ɪᴛ, Sᴀᴛᴏʀᴜ. Fʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴀʏ ᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴀᴜɢʜᴛᴇʀ ᴡᴀs ʀᴇʙᴏʀɴ, I ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɢɪᴠᴇɴ ʜᴇʀ ᴜɴᴄᴏɴᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ ʟᴏᴠᴇ. [ᴅ. ɴᴀᴍᴇ] ɪs ᴀ ʟᴏᴠᴇʟʏ ɢɪʀʟ. I ᴋɴᴏᴡ ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛ ʜᴇʀ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀs ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴀs ʏᴏᴜ ᴅɪᴅ ɪɴ ᴏᴜʀ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ʟɪꜰᴇᴛɪᴍᴇ.
I ᴏɴʟʏ ᴡɪsʜ I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ʙᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴇxᴘᴇʀɪᴇɴᴄᴇ ɪᴛ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʏᴏᴜ.
Sᴛᴀʏ sᴛʀᴏɴɢ ꜰᴏʀ ᴏᴜʀ ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ɢɪʀʟ. I ʟᴏᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ʟᴏᴛs.
⁻Yᴏᴜʀ ᴏɴᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴏɴʟʏ [ɴᴀᴍᴇ].
He cried for hours, holding your dead body. You named her the same name you had given her in his other lifetime. He...never told you what you named her.
--------
"Daddy!" A girl shouts gleefully as she gets pushed forward on a swing.
"Wheeee! Isn't this fun, darling?" Satoru pushes his daughter carefully.
"Very! Hehe!" The little girl giggles.
--------
Satoru opened his eyes as he awakened on a grassy field. 'I fell asleep...where am I?' He looks around to see a faint figure on a hill, painting.
Walking closer, he sees, it's you. It's...you?... "[n-name]?"
He runs and hugs you so tight, you think you'd have died again from his hug.
"I can't stay long Satoru but... I wanted to check up on you. How is [d. name]?"
He smiled. "She's turning seven next month! She's also inherited your cursed technique."
"That's lovely. I'm so proud of you Satoru."
"Of course! I'm not the strongest sorcerer for nothing! It makes me the best father!"
You two talked for what seemed to be like an eternity.
"I have to go now, Satoru." You smiled softly.
"I know name. I love you. [l. name] [d. name.] loves you a lot too. She's never forgotten about you or what you look like, and I intend to keep it that way."
Your eyes widen in surprise. He gave her your last name.
"Goodbye. I love you, Satoru." You whispered as you faded away.

Its stupid stupid stupid STUPID how emotional im getting over these fictional characters having a baby
After all she went through - unwanted daughter unproven ally - bastard daughter. lost her mother. lost her brother. frosty with her father. her sister is far away. flirting and friendly smiles to keep people at a distance to keep her safe to use as tools - selfish and cruel - labeled greedy and mean for using the only means she can to find security. Greedy greedy greedy to keep it all close, except her heart was not her own and it was terrifying and she could not speak truth to the terrifying weakness until he was dead and almost gone and somehow he came back. Always half of a pair - did not go far from him - always together and now broken in half for his loss, his loss because he saved her, because he loved her. How she is secure in her achievements and busy because she wants to be because shes skilled because she loves it because she has the luxury of freedom, did I mention she can fly? She can fly! How family was her mother (gone) was her twin (gone) and now she gets to build a new one and they're safe and loved and her child is not a bastard not a scorned halfbreed not *not enough* like she was, her child is not, her child is not motherless like she was, her child will have a host of siblings and her child will have that family, whole and at ease, or so help her.
After all he went through - smoke and fire and iron and bullets and bullets and bullets - orphan coward a lit fuse looking only to take them down with me signed his own death certificate and that of thousands more and being *fine with it* so long as he worked down his list and checked off vengeance for each. How it mattered but did not but did because it all was a dream. How he achieved it and was saved and had to live with what he had done and nearly not, nearly not - he was ready to go he was fine with going but lo and behold, behold, against all expectations her heart was his?! - and build a new legacy. How in the end he tried, tried, tried to sign this new future away for a friend, a brother, a man who deserved better - last words indignant and irritated - and he could not. He could not fix it. Faced with the loss and the death and the mourning and finally, finally, finally finding time to grieve and heal and grow. And he can put away his weapons and make clocks to tell time and watch it advance and not worry for what it brings. How his family tree was so neatly pruned - so many names - but two. And three when she said yes. And now four, then six, seven, eight, nine, perhaps?
And.
Her.
she's his sister and her mother and only one middle name, starting off simple, her daughter is super cute, his daughter is adorable, their daughter is the future that almost slipped through their fingers or bled out or was left unsaid a hundred times over. And she was carried (because morning sickness was after the end of the world and an adventure and not much time at all) through death and through the Feywild and through the belly of a dragon and a bird in her father's pocket and she survived, against the odds she survived and she thrived and she's loved so completely by hearts that never thought they could. Selfish and cruel, tal'doreis terrible tinkerer, and they made this, and there has to be more good to them than they thought. They have to have made it out (when he didnt when he didn't at his expense even) for a reason.
(And somehow the vampires did not find her, the last de rolos they said, saying nothing of his sister of their baby and she Knew and she kept quiet and she died hoping he would get help and their baby would be safe and perhaps seeing her mother, her mother, gone too soon, and knowing she could not do that to her daughter)
Yes im listening to dalens closet and had to pause and tear up 5 minutes in why you ask

Hi! I love your Rodolphus HC. Do you have any Lestrange Snr HC?
Thank you for the ask, anon, and sorry for the late reply! More than you'd think, actually, so much so I had to put them below the cut.
It's canon that Lestrange Snr was part of Tom Riddle's Slytherin gang, although we don't know if they were in the same year. I headcanon that they were, the two of them shared a dormitory. Rodolphus and Rabastan are clearly both devoted to Voldemort (the two of them spend 14 years in Azkaban for LV too, lest we forget, and even Bellatrix says it - we alone were faithful, we alone tried to find him), and I like to think that their father played a key role in this.
So. Roland Lestrange, heir to the English branch of the Lestrange family, whose grandfather was Minister for Magic, who lives in a huge Cornish castle and whose Vault in Gringotts is amongst the best guarded meets Tom Riddle, dirt-poor son of a nobody with a cockney accent, who comes from East London and is more than rough around the edges on his first night at Hogwarts. And he knows that he will be eaten alive in Slytherin. This is the 1930s-1940s and I admit that I'm not an expert on all-boys boarding schools for rich kids at the time but I somehow don't think it'd be the easiest ride for someone like young Tom.
But boy, is he wrong.
Because by the end of Tom Riddle's stay at Hogwarts that boy is just a pale memory. I am firmly convinced that Tom MyFairLady-ed himself and made himself into one of them, just better. And one, all of his classmates fall in line. If he cannot charm them, he manipulates them; if that fails, he threatens them and when he still doesn't get his way he resorts to outright violence. He rules them with both love/admiration and fear. Voldemort's a natural leader. I headcanon Roland to be something of a right-hand-man while in Hogwarts. (That title is then snatched away by Antonin Dolohov, who accompanies Tom in some of his continental travels, and later on by Bellatrix herself.)
What's this man like?
Not as pretty as Rodolphus (but then again, few men are <3), but easy on the eyes, and he has an elegant bearing, hard features, and lots of money. He's also Tom Riddle's friend and all the ladies want a chance to at least sit next to him.
Generally a cold man. Dutiful. Tom found him easy to rely upon, and obedient enough, but without a true spark (that both Rodolphus and Rabastan do have, in different ways).
He marries Margot something (that's a headcanon I still have to figure out), who was a first/second year when he was in seventh, as soon as she finishes Hogwarts. He's known this was the case for his whole life and when the time comes he does what's expected of him. They do end up with a surprisingly successful marriage, based on duty that becomes companionship that becomes a sort of comfortable love. She's truly, honestly heartbroken when he dies.
And he does die. Before (or shortly after) he turns fifty.
The culprit?
Lord Voldemort himself.
It is a huge headcanon of mine that Voldemort is directly responsible for the deaths of several of his former classmates, the only people who would remember Tom Marvolo Riddle before he was Lord Voldemort. He poisons them, curses them, inflicts a pandemic of Dragon Pox on the country to get rid of them. Roland Lestrange was ill for some time before he died, so was Druella Black. Orion Black dies suspiciously early after his son's disappearance - many would have taken it as suicide. Alphard Black dies around that time as well- he wasn't old at all. An accident, they said. (This is one of the most callous things he does, in my personal headcanons, because he knew these people as a young man and has no (0) mercy in disposing of them.) After they are gone, no one except for Dumbledore (and maybe Borgin and Slughorn) remember who Tom Riddle was before.
His children.
He does love his children, but you guys know me. You know how much I love dysfunctional families and family systems, and The Crown and Succession etc etc. I've spoken at length about the Blacks.
Rodolphus is very much the golden child. The eldest son, the heir, the perfect one, bright and more powerful, the strong one. Rodolphus only ever made one mistake - marrying Bellatrix. He chose her, pleaded with his father to have her, got his wish. And the thing is, Roland likes Bellatrix (especially after discovering that the Dark Lord likes Bellatrix), he can understand the appeal. But he dislikes that she cannot (or will not) give his son children, that he dies without there being Lestrange heirs.
Rabastan is younger, and born after a difficult birth, and I imagine him as a sickly child. In my headcanons, he's bisexual with a preference for men. Now, he never confesses this to his father but Roland can pretty much sense that there is something queer about him and dislikes it immensely. He loves his son very much, but he doesn't like him. He mislikes that he refuses to marry, the way he conducts himself, the complete lack of duty, especially since his brother has no children. (Rabastan feels this deeply, this lack of love, of physical affection, hurts him. He's a mama's boy. He's a bit of a Roman Roy.)
There's a portrait of him in what was once his study (the recurring gag here is that everyone in Rodolphus' life will always refer to it as Roland's study) and he is cranky. Portraits aren't precise reflections of who the wizard/witch was when they were alive and Roland's portrait's personality is cheerless at best.)

Beat had expected to come home to an argument. After what little Mr Hanekoma had told him about his conversation with her, all he knew was that when he faced his mother, there was going to be shouting -- and somehow he was going to have to keep a lid on it and calmly persuade her to back down from the legal threats she had made. As if diplomacy was a skill he possessed, and didn't have a long history of opening his mouth and making things worse.
But... there had been no shouting. Despite being alone in the house, Mum had quietly called him into the privacy of her room, closed the door, and had barely started to explain how she had run into some of his 'friends' -- when she crumbled. Distraught like Beat could never remember seeing her before, hysterical but not angry. Confused and hurt.
Something Hanekoma said had hurt his mother, and that realization suddenly flipped all of his priorities on their head. He had been worried about losing the wrong person in all of this.
And when she managed to communicate the cause, Beat's whole body went cold with guilt, and dread, and mortification. She had been accused of harming him, her own son, and convincing him he wasn't cared about -- and naturally those things could have only been construed from things that Beat himself had confided. But no matter how he fought with her, Mum was family, and he had never intended for the things he had privately vented to Mr Hanekoma to make him appear mistreated... much less to have them revealed to and weaponized against her.
So rather a shouting match, the discussion wound up with Beat consoling his mother, desperate to impress on her that she hadn't been betrayed. That he hadn't been spreading lies behind her back about imaginary abuse he had endured (he couldn't possibly make up something so grave), that he hadn't secretly believed that his own mother wouldn't mourn if he died (he had seen the flowers; he knew she would). That she was absolutely right: Mr Hanekoma was crazy and Beat was going to bash his head in for meddling with his family.
That reaction succeeded in allaying Mrs Bito's fears that such an evil person was exerting undue influence on her children and could lure them away from her, and calmed her down enough to reconsider legally branding the man such a danger as to be barred from seeing them. Beat was easily the more dangerous one when his righteous anger was ignited, and it was so rarely sparked in her defence that she could only allow it.
But, unlike usual, Beat didn't allow his indignation to carry him to Wildkat immediately. He didn't report the outcome of the long, emotionally-draining discussion with his mother like he was likely expected to. Mr Hanekoma had warned him to really think about it before coming to see him again, and for once, he would. Being impulsive in sharing details about his home life was the mistake that had snowballed into this, so he had to be careful with what he said going forward -- and he couldn't do that until he had calmed down and let the pain he had caused his mother sink in.
Though, no one would ever guess that had calmed down when he finally arrived at Wildkat the next day, timed like he was showing up for his café shift but with the door exploding open and voice on full blast.

"Yo, Hanekoma! I gotta talk to ya!" With a fist raised, like it was going to be doing all the talking. "WHAT THE FUCK?"

I have an idea and even i dont know what it is because my brain stopped functioning right after i was finished with the last part of my project (i am so happy about that cuz this project literally drained me but thats not what i am here to talk about) so please ignore any mistakes
Tw: this will include yandere seungcheol, magic (wizards and witches and some spell/curse)
This is royalty au, i am a sucker for royalty aus and i am on my seungcheol feelings right now
You are one of the rival queendom's princess and you mother (the Queen) raised you to be independent, strong and powerfull. You were raised to rule a whole country with no one by your side if needed but you knew you always wanted someone by your side. Not because you werent as independent as your mother wanted you to be but because you grew without your father and you watched how hard your mother worked to keep her queendom peaceful and wealthful (is this even a word lol)
You knew that if it wasnt for your father getting murdered by seungcheol's father he would help her with all the hard duties and support her through hard times because we are all human after all and we need to know that someone is by our side.
After your mothers sudden death your witches and wizards tell you that this was not a normal death, this one done by some other magician who is powerfull enough to make this curse work from far away.
You knew who did this, you knew that seungcheol was behind this terrible plan because he always accused your family for his fatherd death that happened years ago.
So you made a plan, you decided to invite him to arrange peace. After he signed the papers you would ask him about your mothers death and if your magicians caught him lying then you would pull out another arrangment. An arrangment about how he was going to keep peace and pay you tax every year or you would tell other kingdoms about how he was using the magic for killing other royals. Afterall, this was a big crime in magic laws and if some royals didnt submit to it, they were vanished from the history, the map and everybodies minds.
Everything went according to the plan, at first. He signed the papers about making a truce as long as both parties stayed true to their words. Then, while you were drinking your teas at your balcony you asked him about your mothers sudden death and if he was involved in it.
What you werent expecting was a barrier that separating you from the rest of the world to appear. And him saying "Its good that you noticed it, its good that you are aware of how powerfull i am, its good that you invited me to your home so i could take you back to our new home." with the sickest, the most sickening smile you have ever seen.
His voice was just like a lovers, who was confessing, serenading the greatist love ever to their beloved partner.
You waited for your wizards to do something, anything. But only for a few seconds, after you relaized that they were unable to get over the barrier you tooked the nearest knife and threw it to him.
You werent going to let this sick, crazy, mad man court you or take your queendom away from you.
Thats it, thats all i can think about, i dont know if you would like to continue this or just leave it here but i think this has potential, just not from me lol
Hope you like this one, i know its not much but i thought of an extremly powerfull magician seungcheol who always wanted to marry the princess since he saw her when he was visiting their kingdom with his father. Then things happened and he had to make sure that you were in as much pain as he was when his father was killed and his mother died because she couldnt stand the pain, that way you could be even (in his mind)
Bye❤️

um wtf how are you just gonna drop this whole ass fic in my inbox like nothing????? this was absolutely brilliant i love the entire concept of it.
now i can easily picture cheol and reader fighting it out until he somehow pins her to the ground, but the tension turns into a different kind when you feel his huge bulge literally pressing against your core. cheol feels like he can come from that alone and the expression on your face. bc although he sees resentment and disgust, he focuses more on the lust and want (even though it’s minimal).
it’s enough for him to back off (for now), but he would stay sending you gifts and appearing in ur private chambers since he’s so skilled and powerful that he can easily slip past the protections you’ve set up. you hate when he does this but lowkey he starts to grow on which just makes you feel sick and gross bc wtf he literally killed ur mom.
still, you can’t control these feelings that keep growing. it gets worse when u have a bad day, and literally ur in ur room on the verge of tears when he shows up. his eyes are filled with concern as he cradles ur face asking u what’s wrong before melting into a cold, unadulterated rage. he’ll calmly ask you who’s responsible for ur tears bc he’s going to end them.
ur not sure why that comforts you and sickeningly turn you on. so you just kiss him and he kisses you back, cock already hard bc wtf he’s waited for this moment for so long and u taste so sweet and now that he’s tasted u like this he’s never going to let you go.
as if ur possessed you start to take off his clothes and tell him to fuck you until you can’t think of anything else. so he does. cheol will shove his cock into you and start to pound into you relentlessly. ur tight cunt feels so good to him and the way you’re moaning out his name just makes it all the better.
so you two fuck all night, he’s filled you up so much that you literally can’t take any more of his cum and you just fall asleep and tell him to not pull out bc you want to keep feeling him until you fall asleep. and you make him promise not to leave u bc although he is sick and twisted, he is also the only person who’s constantly there for you. so he obliges every one of ur requests, smirking deviously when he wraps a blanket around both ur naked bodies and teleports back to his kingdom.
bc you’re his now, and he’s never letting you go.

Reading An Old Fic
I'm reading an old Gorillaz fic that I wrote years ago, and it's so unintentionally funny in some parts. For context, 2D fucking. Dies. That's the plot. He's a ghost now. The story is mostly angst, so the random bits of humor is like getting smacked in the face. The story overall is not bad, it's just weird that I did that! If I had finished this, it could have been close to a novel length.
Highlights of the story:
The chapter names include such gems:

Don’t Starve Shipwrecked Basically
I can sense a theme with some of these.
Murdoc gets in an elevator with a white suburban family. He has an inverted cross around his neck and blood on him (from an injury). It's awkward
2D uses his ghost powers to make Murdoc's shower ice cold.
After a very dramatic scene: “What’cha doin’?” Stuart asked. He sounded bored and alone.
“Running from my problems.” Murdoc responded.
Taxi Driver: “My friends would be stoked to hear this, they’re big fans.”
Murdoc: “I always love fans. Tell ‘em I said that my bed can always fit one more person.”
2D calls Murdoc a murderer for being partly responsible for his demise (even though it was unintentional). Murdoc denies being a murderer. 2D is like "I have a law degree!!", which is funny to me. Why does he have that
EMI Records calls Murdoc during an angsty scene and threatens to hold him hostage until he can tell them where 2D is. When he says he will get his lawyers involved, they tell him "We're a billion dollar company, we can do whatever we want"
2D meets a blind woman who can hear him. She doesn't know he is a ghost and doesn't get the memo. She's like "We all feel invisible sometimes. It's ok"
Russel: “I know you’re in there you green piece of shit”.
Noodle is unable to ship her sword, but is somehow able to ship herself, a whole human, through FedEx. This is never addressed.
Murdoc plans to murder a child to bring 2D back from the dead. He can't bring himself to. He kills someone else instead by being bisexual at a club. This chapter is called: Murder For A Good Cause. The man he brings back is actually from the Black Cloud and attacks Murdoc first.
A line from the story, out of context: "It would just be plain awkward, like having sex with your best friend watching, except he and 2D weren't friends."
(More under the cut)
Noodle: “Uhuh. Well, I’m going out to go get some dinner. If I come back and anything is wrong I won’t hesitate to harm you.” she threatened.
Murdoc: “I know that! Enjoy your dinner!” he called as he dragged the corpse away to clear space.
2D finds Murdoc drawing a pentagram next to a dead body and is like "WHAT THE FUCK"
“There’s a dead body on the floor-” Stu pointed out, but was interrupted by Murdoc.
“Stop pointing out the obvious.”
“So you slit his throat?”
“What else did you expect me to do? Kindly show him the door?”
This scene:
He pricked his finger, allowing a drop of blood to fall into the solution. He felt a strange tingling sensation, and the very next thing he knew he was standing in the oh so familiar underworld.
He was in a building. The roof was high up and was supported by towering beams. On the beams were torches lit with hot flames. They were the only light in the room.
A large demon paced back and forth. He seemed angry. “For the last time, I don’t want your car insurance! I don’t even have a car! How did you get this number?!” he paused, listening to what the person on the other line had to say. “At least I’m not going to have an early death! Have fun in Hell!” he swiftly hung up. It seemed he was unaware of his company until Murdoc cleared his throat.
And this:
“It’s you. You don’t remember our deal? You specifically asked for your band to never die. Your friend did, but because of our deal his soul remains. Well, ta-ta! I’m off to my meeting. Hell can’t run itself.”
If you want to read all of what I've written, let me know and I can upload the rest on ao3. I've already published some of it on there. I will not finish it, I'll just give you what I've already done.

Teen And Up Rated Fics Masterlist
Adagio (ao3) - Lurkz pepper/natasha, pepper/tony, implied steve/tony T, 31k
Summary: It was supposed to be just an assignment. Falling for the person she was supposed to protect wasn’t really in the plan. But when do plans ever stay the same?
Astronomy In Reverse - pansley steve/bucky T, 184k
Summary: A year after the Winter Soldier failed his mission in DC, Bucky Barnes is doing his best to stay under the radar from both Hydra and Steve Rogers. His hope for a peaceful day-to-day life in limbo goes awry, however, when he meets Queens’ newest hero; a pure-hearted kid with a death wish and a ridiculous pair of red and blue pajamas.
The last thing Steve expects when he finally tracks Bucky down is that, not only has the man been living in Queens all this time, right under his nose, but also that, in the two years since they last saw each other, Bucky somehow acquired a kid.
Alternatively: How Peter Parker effectively fucks over Bucky Barnes, and also totally saves him.
At The End Of All Things (ao3) - It-is-the-Hannah (carry_on_my_wayward_outcasts) pepper/tony T, 32k
Summary: In which Peter survives the snap, and that changes everything.
Better When I’m With You (ao3) - thelilacfield wanda/vision T, 69k
Summary: He’s had a number of firsts. Virginia Reed, his first crush. Wanda Maximoff, his first kiss. Eve Simon, his first heartbreak. Mandy Fournier, the first girl who said yes when he asked her to dance. And he’s becoming increasingly certain that Sam Wilson is his first love.
Vision writes a letter each time he has a crush so consuming he can’t forget it. They are tiny pieces of his heart, written out for his eyes only, a way to say goodbye.
Until the day they’re sent out.
built from scraps - peterstank pepper/tony T, 138k
Summary: “Everybody needs someone. That’s what you said, right?” Pepper meets his eyes and he’s struck by the way she’s almost pleading. “We both lost. We can help each other.”
Her hand, palm up and open, stretches into the space between them.
Peter hesitates.
Then he takes it.
or: the one where tony was dusted instead of peter, so he and pepper try to figure out the whole ‘family’ thing together.
(oh, and it turns out that the man who died in peter’s arms on an alien planet is his biological father. who knew, right?)
Civilized Society - kehinki steve/bucky T, 7k
Summary: Steve didn’t want an alpha.
Four (Or Five) Reasons for Kidnapping Tony Stark - scifigrl47 steve/tony, clint/phil T, 78k

Steve Rogers, as always, is oblivious. At least, that is, until someone who isn't him kidnaps Tony. Then he's just pissed.
Have I Changed? - katling tony/stephen T, 141k
Summary: I liked you more before you met the Avengers.
It's an offhand comment that Tony wasn't sure he was actually meant to hear. But he did and he doesn't know what it means. Lucky for him, Rhodey's got an answer for him.
If You Had This Time Again (ao3) - dls loki/tony T, 268k
Summary: Tony Stark closed his eyes in a wrecked Siberian bunker and woke up on a demolished New York street. Four years earlier.
In the Home (ao3) - aloneintherain T, 68k
Summary: The Avengers have been infected, turned violent and aggressive against their will. And Peter, the only one unaffected, is trapped inside the Tower with six feral teammates.
“Natasha,” Peter says cautiously, “what happened here? Steve attacked me, and if there was ever a sign that something was wrong, it’s having the embodiment of Truth, Justice, and the American Way throw you across the room—”
Natasha comes closer, her stride controlled. Nothing necessarily out of the ordinary, but there’s something in her face, in her eyes—
Natasha lunges across the space, and slams into Peter, hard.
just say you do (ao3) - biblionerd07 steve/bucky T, 173k
Summary: Steve just wanted a job. He wasn't expecting a marriage proposal. And he certainly wasn't expecting to accept.
Life In Reverse (ao3) - Lise T, 228k

He wanders the world alone and immortal, until one single reckless moment sends him hurtling into a parallel dimension of heroes and villains. A new enemy arises from an ancient power, and Harry must take a stand as the last wizard to protect this new world. If only SHIELD would stop trying to track him down...and someone could explain what the hell was an 'Avenger' was supposed to be. Honestly, muggles...
Peter Parker's Home for the Wayward Villain - BeanieBaby T, 90k
Summary: A really long redemption story.
Still Waters (ao3) - SailorChibi bucky/tony T, 12k
Summary: James didn't know what to think when he stumbled across an older version of Tony Stark who claimed to be from the future. He had no idea that agreeing to help Stark to stop the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver would change everything.
Suffer the Children (ao3) - natneill99 pepper/tony T, 56k

the bruises that we share - haveufoundwhaturlookingfor steve/bucky T, 3k
Summary: Soulmate AU. Sharing the same injuries/bruises. Pre-War. Skinny!Steve doesn’t like bullies, and often finds himself getting beat up, leaving bruises littered all over his body. What Have I Done? LB;MR Fic
First Part, Previous Part, Next Part
Disclaimer: Alfend is no representation of DID. & dont make deals with strangers! Or at least check their credentials...
---- Katrielle’s home was nice. It was above her detective agency. Warm, homely, and not really what he was looking for, which is why he was climbing out the window instead of staying for the tea Katrielle and Flora were preparing. No doubt talking to each other in hushed whispers about how weird he was.
He’d already lost one friend. He couldn’t lose them. So, he ran. Ran until he got to the tiny redhead’s house and knocked on the door. The man who opened it couldn’t look smugger.
“Undo it, please.” Al bursts, not caring, he just needed this nightmare to end.
“No.”
“What? Lucy’s life has changed, she’s been hurt in this world! She’ll never become a detective; this deal has taken everything from her.”
“Then you should have read the fine print. It’s hardly my fault you haven't read the fine print.” Alfendi glares at the man who looks at him, smug, Fendi couldn’t believe it, he couldn’t believe him.
He grabs the man by the scuff of the neck, “you will change it back, it’s in your best interests that you change it back.”
The man looks at him, “Oh really? Is it? My best interests? In this universe, the one you messed up you’re still missing someone,” he grins, “your friend is gone and I, am perfectly free to do what I like, innocent too so you can’t scare me like your criminals. What would they think?”
Missing someone… His father! Katrielle was close to finding him, Alfendi knew that he knew she did find him, not that Alfendi had spoken to him yet. How had this deal affected that. From what he remembered Katrielle was set to find him in a few months. Unless she wouldn’t unless he’d somehow messed that up too.
He ignores the rest of what the man had to say, raising him into the air, keeping his back pressed against the doorframe, “what have you done to Hershel Layton?”
“Nothing! I can assure you; no one will touch him.”
There was something so wrong about this, but a large man was at the door now, dragging the man out Fendi’s hands and leaning against the doorframe, “what’s going on here?”
“That man conned me! He’s a liar and a fraud!”
The taller man just shuts the door in his face. Fendi turns to be confronted by his sisters.
“What contract?” Katrielle looked puzzled.
The explanation took him some time. He didn't mention their father. If he mentioned Hershel, then maybe Katrielle couldn't find him. He really didn’t want to change that part of the future. He may dislike his father but robbing Katrielle of him, that would be unforgivable. He just needed to stay out of her way until she’d found him. Solve this problem.
“I think I need to talk to her family, find out where it all went wrong.” he looks at them, “and you should stay out the way.”
“Nonsense! This is a case and who better to solve this case than me! The best gentlewoman in the whole of London! And Flora of course.”
Flora chuckles, “I’ve been solving puzzles since before the two of you were born. This should be no problem.”
“Do you not understand? This is dangerous, it’s not the same as what Hershel exposed us too, someone has already died!”
“People die on cases all the time! Do you think I’ll get to see a real dead body?” Katrielle’s eyes light up, Flora elbows her in the ribs, “uh, what I mean is we’re stronger together and I’m not afraid of a few dead bodies.”
“What if you are the dead body?”
“I won’t be! I’ll be extra careful and if I do get into trouble, I know that you’ll look after me!”
“And who would look after you?” Flora asks him, “If you’re being chased by Lucy the best way to stop you getting hurt is to stay with you.”
He’d expected them to be angry he made the deal; he hadn’t explained Al after all. It just seemed selfish. Mostly because it was selfish. He had been selfish. They’d just taken it in stride. Promised to help him.

Me at myself in the mirror at 3:50 in the afternoon one day: the thing about the sequel trilogy of star wars is that Finn was in the perfect position to be a foil to Kylo Ren and a hopeful spin on the character of Anakin Skywalker and the fact that nobody even noticed these parallels is a testament to the power of racism and the fact that bigotry actually makes you a worse writer
No but. Anakin’s out here with his introduction in the prequels as a slave, and it’s poorly done but implied that the pain and fear of that part of his life impacts how he interacts with… basically everything ever, and ultimately makes him susceptible to palpatine’s grooming; your mileage may vary on the ratio of canon to fanon in this interpretation but I think we can all agree being a slave from birth is gonna fuck a kid up and there’s a reason why George lucas chose this particular backstory for him.
So you’ve got Kylo Ren, eschewing a family that cares for him (please don’t talk to me about whatever the fuck was going on in those last jedi flashbacks first of all that’s bad writing babe and second, we’re talking solely about the expectations and possibilities established in force awakens because there’s not enough narrative or character consistency in the sequel trilogy to take. Anything as a whole there) in order to chase after this version of his grandfather that isn’t even the version he died as. Like! Whether you think Anakin/Vader achieved redemption or simply did one good thing at the end of his life, we all know that act of sacrifice on Luke’s behalf is. The definition of Star Wars. Vader choosing to do good in his last moments was what the original trilogy built towards and what the prequel trilogy always knew, and it’s this fucked up spectre over everything Kylo Ren says or does in Force Awakens because he’s out here pleading with the ghost of a man who is not real, he’s chasing Vader instead of Anakin Skywalker and ignoring the choices his own grandpa made in the name of… honouring him somehow???
And then there’s Finn. Finn who’s been raised since who knows when but definitely childhood given he has no name to remember to be a weapon for the First Order. Somehow I doubt they pay their stormtroopers, somehow I expect their education is more indoctrination than anything, somehow I doubt Finn was ever instilled with a sense that he as a person mattered – Finn’s a slave when we meet him. Unequivocally. And this man who’s known nothing else his entire life turns around and says “actually I think I will do good things or at least stop doing bad ones” and runs the fuck away, freeing himself. (and also Poe. Something something the act of saving others in turn saves you, this is my eternal soapbox but that’s not my point right now)
Finn is afraid, and very nearly runs away from the fight like “I’m safe so it doesn’t matter what happens to others” – when satisfied that Rey is safe (and under the impression that Poe is dead) he feels no strong compulsion to protect an ambiguous “rest of the galaxy” which honestly is exactly the vibes Anakin Skywalker has for pretty much all his life. Anakin would be a hero because the people he cared about wanted him to be. He fought for Padme and Obi-Wan and frigging Palpatine (and Ahsoka, I say, skipping outside the movies for a hot second because I love her) first and foremost, and the Jedi and the Republic because those were the causes his loved ones cared about. Finn has the opportunity to get away, to protect himself for the first time in his life, and he doesn’t have to worry about the few people he cares about so he very nearly goes for it.
Then the thing is, Finn, unlike Anakin, doesn’t let that fear rule him? He turns around and goes back for Rey, follows Poe, stays with the Resistance. He gets to be terrified but he also says that terror isn’t his only motivating factor, and that his self-interest matters less to him than the galaxy – a choice Anakin struggled to make until literally the end of his life.
In conclusion, if the sequel trilogy had stuck to its guns and been about the tragedy of history as a cycle and the way we cling to idealised pasts and torture ourselves over might-have-beens (and also how that inaction and obsession with history allows the rise of fascism bc we spend so much time patting ourselves on the back for defeating ‘the bad guy’ we ignore what gave the bad guy power) – if it had been a well written story Finn should have been a hopeful twist to the story of Darth Vader, a man who faced the same struggles as Anakin but made better, kinder choices, which would bring it nicely full circle considering George Lucas was like. Very into star wars as being about Vader
But nope we had to have whatever that poorly written racist tug-of-war was instead. I don’t know about you but I need better fandoms

The Invitation (2022)
“The Invitation” is an uninspired mystery movie with uninspired horror clichés that’s afraid to admit it’s uninspired.
Evie Jackson is an orphan who barely gets by in New York. Her mother recently died, so she’s feeling like she has no family. She takes a DNA test to see if she has any distant relatives and finds someone from England named, Oliver. Apparently, Evie has a ton of family there and Oliver is insistent on meeting her. Oliver decides that Evie should come to an upcoming family wedding and Evie agrees. After flying to England, Evie meets a charming man named, Walter, who is the lord of the manor she’s staying at. They get to know each other intimately, but something is off about this place.
“The Invitation” is the first movie where I felt like it was embarrassed by its own existence. I had no prior knowledge going into this movie other than the fact that it has been receiving negative reviews. Although I felt like I didn’t need a review to tell me that, I went in with an open mind. The movie starts off as contrived when the movie expects us to believe that Evie would take a random DNA test for fun, then communicate with her newfound relatives through the DNA tester’s website. Then the movie tells us to believe that this woman would actually go out and meet this stranger that she has no way of verifying is crazy or not. This is all to get Evie into an isolated manor. I thought the mystery of the manor was subpar, but it was the only real thing that was engaging, and the use of that word is generous. Throughout the whole film, you’re trying to figure out what type of beast is lurking in the shadows and why Evie’s great-grandmother decided to commit suicide. The problem is, Evie doesn’t seem to care all that much. She’s barely aware of any of it because she’s too busy swooning over Walter. Instead of following through and building upon the mystery that’s been set up in the beginning, “The Invitation” seems more interested in being a romance movie no one is invested in. That’s partly because everyone knows Walter is somehow involved in this because the movie makes no effort to hide the fact that he’s creepy. I’m not going to root for this couple when I know Walter is up to some shady stuff that’ll be revealed at the end. The formatting of this movie is so dull. It’s a boring romance subplot that overtakes a majority of this movie, then it cuts to one horror scene that has the laziest jump scares in all of horror movie history. Then the movie tries to build Viktoria as a fake-out antagonist, but I don’t think anyone bought it for a second. She’s just written to be comically mean to Evie for no reason. I mean, she’s an antagonist, but we all knew she wasn’t the head honcho. When the third act finally decided to happen, it didn’t feel like a grand reveal in the slightest. So, Walter reveals himself to be a vampire and he basically forces Evie to marry him because it’ll extend his life. What I don’t get is, why did Walter just decide to pressure her and lose favor with her. I mean, they literally had sex the scene prior. She was definitely into Walter and I’m almost 100% certain that Evie would’ve married him if he kept playing his cards right. There was no reason to pressure Evie into marriage other than to finally turn on Walter. It’s contrived and not well thought out. The rules they set up are also really dumb and contrived. Once Evie agrees to marry Walter, Walter will allow Evie to drink his blood which will give Evie vampire powers. Then, Walter must drink Evie’s blood to redeem his extended lifetime warranty. So obviously, Evie takes the powers and doesn’t give him his eternal life. Why did Walter not have any plan to make sure he gets his blood after Evie gets her power? It’s so dumb. It’s honestly all so dumb. To put a cherry on top of this shit pile, Walter dances around calling himself a vampire. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that the filmmakers were literally barred from using the word ‘vampire’. He insinuates that he’s been called by multiple names and that he’s been a bunch known as a bunch of famous vampires. All this is happening during a really lazy fight sequence that I can barely remember as I’m writing this review. The ending I think tries to tease at a sequel, but it’s really hard to tell because they don’t seem committed to the idea. “The Invitation” is a passionless movie that is embarrassed by its own existence and it deserves no attention at all.

Squid Game rants, bc I finally finished it
1. I don't understand why the contestants weren't told before the first game that by elimination they meant massacred. Whatever happened to wanting the players to have a fair chance of playing? How can you say that while withholding something extremely important to their survival? I get it was to cut down on the amount of contestants, bc imagine how many episodes they'd have to make if a majority of those people didn't die, but! It defeated the entire structure of the game
2. Everyone kept saying "we" so much they had me on google looking up how many winners there was supposed to be. Had me thinking I missed something in the beginning
3. Why in THE hell did that couple decide to go back? Only 1 person was going to make it out alive and you're telling me they thought the both of them participating was a good idea? Then ole dude wanna hang himself, bc his wife died. Like, what did you expect?
4. Sangwoo what do you mean "all the games we've played so far" sir, you only played one.......unless he's counting the game everyone played before given the card
5. The V.I.P's were probably the most uninteresting part of the series. I was excited to finally see who they were just for them to be a bunch of lame ass white men. A majority of their dialogue had me punching the air. The whole 69 and then 96 bit? Be serious
6. The V.I.P's ruined the 5th game
7. The Junho and Inho subplot really wasn't that interesting. I had a feeling from the start the front man was his brother, so there wasn't really a reason for me to anticipate anything
8. As much as I want to I can't hate Sangwoo. I held a grudge against him the second he figured out the second game and didn't at least tell Gihun, but once I put some thought into it he was just trying to survive. If you have the advantage it's best to use it. Everyone had to fend for themselves there. Doesn't matter how well you know anyone. It's either them or you. That's the whole point of the games. They all re-entered knowing this
9. Really wanted to see that dude at the beginning get slapped when he finally lost the game. I don't like him. He's creepy
10. Sae-Byeok really should have won the competition. She had a backstory worth rooting for. She wasn't there bc of gambling, scamming or taking out loans she knew she could never pay back. She was there to get her family back together and you're telling me a man who has never been a father to his child, put his elderly mother in a situation where she was forced to work under a serious medical condition and then later died, bc he was either not working or blowing all their money and finally, is in so much debt it'd probably take the rest of his life to pay it off considering the fact he'd probably just continue to put himself deeper into debt, bc he just can't help himself was the one to make it out alive? Can't believe that shit
11. If Inho really wanted his brother to come back with him all he had to do was get the soliders behind him to capture him. He had no bullets left and if he wanted to jump he would have done it a long time ago. Did he really need to shoot him?
12. That doctor dude should have been sparred, bc honestly? Can you blame him for taking the offer to get info on the games before they played them? You present something like that to a person in a literal life or death situation and you expect them to not give into their desperation?
13. Okay, the entire series is unrealistic, but do you know how unrealistic it was for Junho to just become a soldier without an ounce of knowledge beforehand? He knew NOTHING going in and you're telling me he somehow didn't get a bullet to the head the first day?
14. The 5th game should have never been designed to hurt any of the winners. Sae-Byeok shouldn't have gone out the way she did
15. The Tug-of-war game was probably the most underwhelming game, bc half of the main cast being on a team and loosing wasn't something the directors would do. It was too predictable to get into
16. Ali and Sangwoo gave off limp wrist SpongeBob vibes
17. So did Sae-Byeok and that other girl
18. So, the old man entered his own games, but wasn't guaranteed safety.........or at least I thought so. Someone pointed out the numerous ways he actually incorporated his safety in a few episodes, but how exactly would he go about executing it? The first game you can clearly see the sensors in the dolls eyes completely ignore him despite looking in his direction at the players around him. Let's say he fell as she said red light. Would he just get up, dust himself off while everyone is wondering why he's not dead and then announce he's the creator before walking away? Same for the tug-of-war game. His chains didn't have a lock meaning if his team lost he'd be able to get loose before being pulled off the platform. How would he go about explaining that to the contestants? I NEED answers
19. The last episode was bland and rushed

Welcome to My World
Genre: Soulmate AU
Pairing: Jason Todd x Gender Neutral!Reader
Requested: Yes (REQUESTS ARE CLOSED, this was for my 1.5K follower celebration)
Word Count: 1.6K
Warnings:  Swearing, slight angst, fluff
Description:  You wind up in your favorite comic book character’s world and find out that he’s your soulmate.  Jason Todd wants to know how you know his secret identity since he was in his Red Hood gear when you met, but your answer is the last thing he expected to hear.
Tumblr media
Hey, are you all right?
Those five words were tattooed on your inner arm, the first words your soulmate would ever speak to you.  Every time someone asked you that question you would tense up and respond waiting for their initial reaction as they realized who you were to them.  But the response never came.  The “Oh my God you’re my soulmate” never happened.  And year after year that passed you felt like maybe you would never meet them.
You found solace in comics, in the stories of heroes, and wondering what it would be like to be their soulmate.  Your favorite hero, or anti-hero you guess, would be Red Hood AKA Jason Todd.  The BatFam comics were amongst some of your favorites and you devoured fanfics written about Jason.  Silently you wished that he was your soulmate, maybe because it was easier than feeling disappointed time after time when someone else wasn’t your soulmate.
Then the strangest event occurred.  You were walking home one afternoon from your shift and there was a blinding flash of light.  At first, you had thought that maybe there had been some kind of explosion, or maybe you had died somehow and there really was a white light at the end.  Then everything was dark and when you slowly opened your eyes you realized that you weren’t home anymore.
City buildings you didn’t recognize rose around you a police car with the letter GCPD written on the side whizzed by.  Your heart felt like it had lodged itself in your throat and for a moment you thought that you really had died and maybe this was what the afterlife was like.  You took stock of everything around you looking for anything that might give you a clue as to where you were and in the distance, you noticed another tall building.
It was a stereotypical skyscraper but written on it was Wayne Enterprises.  You blinked and let out a startled laugh, “No way.  No, no, no this isn’t real.  This can’t be real.”  The possibilities that you were dreaming flitted through your mind and you scrubbed your hands over your face as if you were trying to wake yourself up.
There was no way you could be in Gotham City.
“Hey, are you all right?”  Those words.  Those damn words.
Turning your head you saw him standing there, the red mask obscuring his face, the bat emblem on his chest.  “Cool Jason Todd cosplay,” you managed to get out before your head began to swim and you began collapsing, the man before you rushing to catch you before your head could connect to the pavement.
“Shit,” he hissed.  Then he hit the button for his comms, “Alfred, I’m bringing someone to the cave… uh, well I’ll explain when I get there.”
“Understood,” came Alfred’s response.
How did you know his name, and why the hell had you thought he was cosplaying himself?  He didn’t have time for that now, and he also resisted the urge to check his arm where those very words were etched into his skin.  Whoever you were, you were his soulmate.  There was no doubting that.
He managed to get you to the cave in one piece and Alfred quickly checked you over and gave the all-clear.  “It was probably shock,” he told Jason.  “You said that they seemed confused, correct?”
Jason had his arms crossed over his chest and nodded, “Yeah, it was strange.  It was like they had no idea where they were and they thought I was cosplaying.”  He unfurled his arms and rolled up his sleep, “Whoever they are, they’re my soulmate.”
Alfred patted Jason’s shoulder, “Let’s wait until they wake up, and then we’ll get answers.”
Bruce and Dick entered the cave and saw you lying on the medical table, Jason standing over you looking pensive.  “Jason what is this?”  Bruce asked as he stepped closer to him and the stranger.
“They’re my soulmate,” Jason said calmly, his eyes still locked onto you, his mind racing.  “Found them looking lost and confused tonight, and right before they passed out they said the magic words.”
Bruce’s eyes shifted from Jason to you, “Are they all right now?”
“Alfred said that it was probably just shock,” Jason finally looked at his adoptive father.  “They knew who I was.  Or at least they thought I was cosplaying myself.”
There was a moment of silence, “I got a call from Barry, he said there was some type of disturbance.  A doorway opened between our earth and another, maybe that’s where they’re from.  Maybe there they know who you are.”
“Maybe,” Jason didn’t want to jump to conclusions.  “Anyhow I’ll get the answers we need when they wake.”
Bruce and Dick left him alone after that and he pulled a chair over to wait until you woke.
It was several hours later and when you woke up you were still in an unfamiliar place.  You would have thought that you would have woken in your bed, proving that it had all been a dream.  But it seemed that your subconscious wasn’t done with you yet.  This time when you opened your eyes you were in a cave and then everything came crashing back down around you.
You were in Gotham.  You had seen Red Hood.  That must mean you were in the-- “Batcave, you’re in the Batcave,” the voice from earlier said, this time it wasn’t obscured by his helmet.  When you glanced to your right you saw him sitting there.  Jason Todd in the flesh.  “You and I need to have a little discussion.  Soulmate to soulmate.”
You let out a ragged breath, “You’re my soulmate?”
He pulled up his sleeve to reveal the words you had spoken to him right before passing out.  “How did you know who I was?  You asked if I was cosplaying Jason Todd specifically, not Red Hood.  How did you know?”
Of course, that would be one of his first questions.  All vigilantes were super secretive with their identities, wanting to protect themselves.  Bruce Wayne was one of the ones that was super protective of his.  “You don’t exist,” you blurted out.  “I don’t know how I got here, but where I’m from you’re a fictional character.”
Jason was quiet for a moment, “All right, let’s say I believe you on that and where you’re from I don’t exist as a living, breathing person.  How did you get here?”
“There was a flash of light,” you explained, wanting desperately for him to trust you.  “The next thing I know I’m standing on the street here in Gotham and you’re coming up to me asking me if I’m okay.  I didn’t expect any of this.  Do you know how I’m here?”
There was a moment of hesitation, “Barry Allen called, do you know who he is?”  You nodded, Barry was the Flash of course you knew that.  “He said there was an anomaly, a doorway from your earth opened and brought you here to mine.”
“So this isn’t some weird dream?  I didn’t die or anything like that?”
He chuckled, “No, there’s a scientific explanation behind it.”  He chewed on the inside of his cheek for a moment, “Do you want to go back to your earth?”
Did you?
I mean you had just found your freaking soulmate.  The person you had been hoping to find since the words had appeared on your arm.  Of course, there was a catch and he belonged to a whole other earth.  And let’s not forget that he happened to be one of your favorite fictional characters of all time.
“Is it okay if I don’t know?”  You asked cautiously.
He nodded, “Yeah, it’s all right.  I know this is a lot to digest.”
You blew out a breath, “This is so not how I saw meeting my soulmate going.”
“It’s not how I saw mine going either,” he offered you a smile.  Then stood and said, “Let me formally introduce myself, I’m Jason Peter Todd, your soulmate.”
“Y/N Y/L/N,” you told him.  “It’s nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Y/N.”  And you swore you could have melted at the tender way he said your name.
He took you to a room in the manor where you could sleep and Alfred offered to go out and get some clothes for you since you were left wearing what you had at work.  You were grateful for them all and how friendly they were treating you despite the fact that you were a literal stranger.  Jason stayed with you and asked you questions about your earth and what he was like in the comics that you had read about him.
You talked for hours until you fell asleep beside him, your head resting on his shoulder.
You spent weeks in Gotham with Jason, learning all there was to learn about the city and its inhabitants and about your soulmate.  Jason was patient and understanding and never pressured you into telling him if you wanted to go home or not.
“Jay?”  You said one evening as the two of you were lying in bed, he was reading a book and you were on his phone playing some games.  He stopped reading and looked over at you to see what you wanted.  “I want to stay here with you, I don’t want to go home.”
The smile that he gave you nearly made your heart stop, “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you said quietly, smiling back at him.  “I don’t think I could ever leave you, and it’s not because you’re my favorite character or even my soulmate.  It’s just because I love spending time with you.  I love your family and this city despite its flaws.  And I just want to stay here forever.”
He placed a finger under your chin and tilted your head up slightly, “I would love nothing more than for you to stay with me.”
“Good,” you leaned forward and brushed your lips against his, feeling happiness blooming throughout you at the thought of spending the rest of your life here with Jason.

i love your metas! I just discovered them today and have spent all afternoon reading them. I have two part ask, if that's okay. Firstly, do you think a sensible version of bella could survive if she recognised early on that keeping on Edward's good side was her only survival option? and secondly, on the flip side, just how unhinged do you think bella could be before edward rejected her?
Ooh, both interesting questions, anon. Let's do this.
Sane Bella and the Yandere Simulator
Last time, on The Carnivorous Muffin's ridiculous blog, we covered what would happen to a sensible Bella who realizes the Cullens are not fluffy bunnies she should take home.
The long and short, Edward eats her.
Edward's romantic interest in Bella, the thing that has him fighting his own baser nature to keep her alive, is dependent on a few things.
One of those is Bella's interest in turn.
In time, if Bella truly was not interested in him, he would eat her. Alice tells us there's only two paths for Bella: death or vampire. Leaving her and walking away is never a true option for Edward.
So, Sane Bella loses Yandere Simulator because she doesn't realize the key aspect of Yandere Simulator: You Never Say No to Yandere.
However, you point out something interesting here, that this is a sensible Bella.
Sensible people do not immediately think they're playing Yandere Simulator. You don't run across people like Edward often, there aren't many of him, and while there are red flags early in Twilight Edward did a pretty good job of making them not particularly visible.
By the time we hit Eclipse he's pretty much thrown pretending to be nice and sane out the window. Luckily for Bella, that doesn't appear to bother her as much as it should.
Bella thinking "if I don't play along with this inhuman whack job he'll eat me", is paranoid lunacy. It is not the first conclusion a reasonable person would jump to.
That it happens to be the right conclusion is irrelevant.
But alright, I'll play ball.
Paranoid Bella and the Yandere Simulator
Bella is utterly paranoid and wearing her tin foil hat when she enters Forks. She remembers Biology very well and when Edward comes back and pretends to be nice she gives him a strained smile and thinks, "This motherfucker will eat me the moment my back is turned."
Bella considers travelling back to Florida, but that would be leading Edward to her mother, more it would be very easy to find Bella if he truly wished to.
Florida isn't an option.
Bella tries to keep her distance from Edward, hard when he sits next to her in Biology, but he seems willing to ignore her. Bella calms down a little, maybe this will work out.
Bella is nearly crushed by a van, desperately pretends she definitely did not see Edward fold that van like a pretzel. Nope, no siree Bob, Bella is concussed! She then stays awake all night in terror and OH GOD HE'S CLIMBING THROUGH HER WINDOW! HE'S GOING TO EAT HER IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT! HE KNOWS THAT SHE KNOWS!
Bella pretends to sleep, horrified, and Edward stays there all night. Staring.
(Edward, meanwhile, is realizing he's in love.)
Bella enters school a nervous wreck, waiting for that fateful Biology class and... Edward is studiously ignoring her. He doesn't even say hello.
Bella would be relieved, except he keeps sneaking into her bedroom at night, staring. Bella gets no sleep for weeks.
Then the blood testing happens and suddenly Edward is talking to her. He tells her they shouldn't be friends and he doesn't want to be friends, GREAT, EDWARD, THAT'S GREAT. But then it's very clear that he's after something, and Bella's spidey senses are tingling.
Edward doesn't want to be friends.
Oh, oh shit.
Suddenly, Edward sneaking into her room at night takes on a whole, new, sinister twist. First he'll rape her, then he'll eat her (or who knows, maybe vice versa, Bella certainly doesn't want to find out).
Bella is driven home by Edward (he insists) and enters the house to wheeze into a paper bag.
She thinks over her options.
Edward can crush cars, Bella trips over asphalt. Even if she wasn't Bella, there's no way she could outfight him even if she wanted to.
Edward was very concerned when he suspected that she knew, he likely still suspects and Bella's not a very good liar. Bella doesn't want to find out what happens to her if Edward realizes she really does know.
Edward appears to have a romantic interest in her. Does Bella really have the option of saying no?
Bella, still wheezing in her bag, comes to what seems like an inevitable decision. She must humor Edward at all costs. For the sake of her family, of her own life, she must play into his romantic overtures. Bella can't act but now, her life depends on it.
Well, Bella still can't act, but luckily for her Edward doesn't care.
Edward just thinks Bella's very jumpy, a little nervous and shy, and just plain weird (given he thinks Bella's just plain weird in canon this is not too far from normal events).
So Bella gets to live in terror for things like the meadow, where Edward talks about how easy it would be to eat her, how he contemplated murdering Biology in cold blood to eat her in the most efficient manner, how he loathed her for daring to smell delicious, how Alice warned him there was a good chance of him eating Bella in the meadow today, all while pressing his cheek against her hammering heartbeat.
"AH HA HA HA HA, EDWARD, YOU'RE SO CHARMING."
Edward invites Bella to the house. These creepy, man eating, people all meet her with smiles. Edward has composed her a lullaby. One of them, Alice, tells Bella they're going to be best friends.
"AH HA HA HA HA, EDWARD YOUR FAMILY IS SO NICE."
In other words, somehow, all of Twilight still happens because Bella is terrified of saying no.
At least, until Volterra. Given Bella's being hunted by Victoria, even had Bella not gone cliff diving eventually Alice would see her eaten and then black out as the wolves chased off Victoria instead.
Bella spends New Moon having a great time. Mostly. The Cullens are finally gone, she's free, she spends weeks on edge thinking they might come back.
Just when she starts to relax, fucking Laurent shows up and learns Victoria's trying to kill her. Because of Edward, because of course, it's always about Edward. WHY ARE VAMPIRES ALWAYS TRYING TO KILL HER?!
Regardless, Alice shows up and goes, "Bella, my god, you're alive!" And Bella dies inside. Alice Cullen is back. Oh no.
Bella pretends she's thrilled to see her. Alice, her best friend, her favorite demon. Hurray. Alice fills Bella in on the New Moon scoop, Bella pretends to be very invested. Then Alice gets the vision.
Edward has decided to commit suicide via the Volturi.
Bella has no problem with this, unfortunately, she realizes that Alice clearly has a problem with this. Alice fully expects Bella to run off to Italy to save Fucking Edward.
Once again, Bella isn't sure she's allowed to say no.
Bella runs to Italy, finds herself saving Edward's life, and then she's brought before the Volturi where she might very well be executed because Edward Cullen happened to involve her in this mess.
BELLA NEVER WANTED TO BE HERE.
Bella snaps. She's crying, she just can't take it anymore, and she finally loses her shit at Edward. SHE NEVER LOVED HIM! HE IS SCARY AND WON'T LEAVE HER ALONE! IF THEY'RE GOING TO KILL HER JUST DO IT NOW BECAUSE SHE CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.
Aro watches Bella's mental breakdown in utter amazement. Naturally, while Marcus suspected something was funky with those two, Aro did not see this coming from Edward's perspective.
Aro offers Bella her out, it is unfortunately death or vampire, but vampire is very much an option and Aro will offer Bella sanctuary in the Volturi.
Bella takes that offer and runs with it.
Edward is devastated and blindsided.
Somehow, neither he nor Alice saw this one coming.
But to answer your question: Paranoid Bella survives Yandere Simulator By Defecting to the Volturi
How Unhinged Does Bella Have to Be For Edward to Dump Her?
He won't.
Remember, Edward in canon thinks there's something legitimately wrong with Bella. She doesn't think like normal people, she always makes the least rational choice, and he can't hear her thoughts.
Edward doesn't think Bella's gifted just that she's... different. (Bella, hilariously, immediately picks up that Edward's calling her a freak. Edward backtracks hard on that one.)
Bella's decisions also become increasingly ridiculous as the series goes on.
She stabs herself in the middle of a battle, she insists on having sex with him while human, she consorts with shapeshifters (to Edward this is lunacy), she picked up motorcycle riding, she threw herself off a cliff, she ran from his sweet protection to the reservation, she believes he doesn't love her, and she doesn't want to get married.
I imagine Edward thinks there isn't anywhere left for Bella to go. She's left the planet, unhinged is her middle name.
But none of that matters.
I already linked the Edward/Bella post I always link near the top so I'll just recap. For Edward, it's all about the blood, the silence, and the projection.
An unhinged Bella is still a delicious and silent Bella. He can still pretend she's Carlisle.
Even if Bella became addicted to cocaine, and ruined that sweet scent, it wouldn't tarnish her memory. He'd nurse her back to health, then eat her so she never relapses.
That's the trouble with Edward/Bella, it's not about Bella, not at all. You could replace her with sweet smelling cardboard and Edward would not notice a difference.

Kilgharrah: “Kill that child, Merlin.”
Merlin (like a normal person): “No?? What the fuck???”
And with that, everything changed.
Part 2   Part 3(final part)
“You must let the boy die.”
Kilgharrah’s voice echoed incessantly through Merlin’s head for days after the Druid boy’s appearance, and subsequent disappearance.
Merlin had, of course, ignored the scaly old bastard, and hadn’t once questioned if he’d done the right thing by hiding Mordred away in his tiny bedroom.
If the boy truly had such a terrible destiny, then the best thing for Merlin to do was to keep him close, if not to steer him away from his fate, then to at least be able to see it coming if it was indeed inevitable.
Currently, Morgana was the only one aware that Mordred was still here (other than Gaius of course, who was somehow disapproving and proud at the same time). As far as everyone else was concerned, Arthur and Uther included, the boy was never found, and must have slipped out of the city somehow (going by the extra patrols in the woods, as opposed to the castle and town).
The Warlock was nervous about anyone knowing at first, but when Morgana had tearfully thanked him for saving Mordred, and proceeded to sneak in spare blankets, food, and money for clothes, Merlin was glad for the co-conspirator.
The boy was currently curled up in the corner of Merlin’s room, a pile of blankets and pillows organised like a bird’s nest around him, wearing a soft shirt and sleeping the night away.
Merlin watched him from his bed, realising with growing horror just how protective of Mordred he had already become. He was so young. How could Merlin even consider punishing a child for some stupid destiny he didn’t even know about?
He had to think of a solution quickly. He couldn’t risk sending him away, not even to the Druids, they were as much slaves to the so-called prophecies as Kilgharrah was, and Merlin had once been (”Gods. Sounds like I’ve been dealing with destiny for years. It’s been like six months. I’m too young for this shit.”). But equally... what could he do with him??
Thankfully, no one had really gotten a good look at the boy, so hopefully with a change of clothes and a haircut, he wouldn’t be recognised, at least not if Merlin came up with a convincing enough story.
To be honest... the cover story worried him far more than the prospect of someone recognising him. Uther hadn’t recognised Nimueh, the woman who had been his court sorceress for years... the man was apparently not very observant.
In the end, it was a throwaway comment by Morgana a few days later, about a week after the Druid boy had “escaped” that gave Merlin a very stupid idea. So stupid, that it might just work.
~
Morgana had once again snuck away from the main castle to sit with Merlin and Mordred in the servant’s room.
Gaius had said nothing as she’d entered the Physician’s chambers, enough food for four hidden away in the picnic basket she carried, just raised his eyebrow slightly, and thanked The Lady for the food offering that was definitely-not-a-bribe.
She gave him a quick wink, and the old physician rolled his eyes fondly as he set an overturned bucket in front of the door; if anyone came in, they would come in loudly.
Mordred was happy to see her, and Merlin hid a fond smile at the boy’s quiet giggles. He still didn’t speak much, so it was a relief to see him finding joy in something, even if it was clandestine visits from Uther’s ward.
She ruffled his hair slightly, resisting the urge to pull the touch averse boy into a tight hug, and set the basket on the bed. Merlin sat against the pillows, and Morgana sat down opposite him, the basket in between them as Mordred clambered up to sit just in front of Merlin.
Morgana and Merlin talked quietly as they ate, Mordred staying silent as the adults (or...as adult as they could get. Like Merlin kept thinking to himself, he was too young for this shit at sixteen, and Morgana was only two years older than him) avoided the elephant in the room.
The elephant being that they couldn’t keep this up forever. Arthur had a habit of bursting in whenever he so pleased, and it was a miracle he hadn’t done so already. Plus, it would be cruel to expect Mordred to stay cooped up in here for much longer. He was a child, he deserved to play outside and explore and do all the other things he couldn’t do in Merlin’s bedroom.
Once they finished eating, Mordred moved to his makeshift bed in the corner, tightly clutching a book that Morgana had bought him, and furrowing his brows in concentration as he read.
Morgana stared at him with a soft smile, and Merlin sighed, once again worrying about his new ward’s future.
Morgana tilts her head, as if a sudden thought had occurred to her, and looks slowly between Merlin and Mordred as the servant raises a questioning eyebrow at her.
“You know Merlin, the two of you look remarkably similar.”
Mordred is engrossed in his book, and doesn’t react at all to Morgana’s quiet comment, but Merlin’s eyebrow goes even higher as he huffs out a laugh:
“You think? I don’t see it.”
Morgana looks at him with a deadpan expression:
“Merlin, you don’t have a mirror in here. I’m fairly certain you have no concept of what you look like.-”
Merlin looks indignantly offended for all of two seconds before he sighs and nods, she’s right to be fair. He’s tall-ish, with pale skin, and he thinks he has brown hair. That’s about all he knows.
Morgana chuckles as she once again looks at Mordred:
“You both have very dark hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin. You know...-”
She looks back at him with a thoughtful frown on her face:
“-if someone told me you were brothers... I’d believe it.”
Merlin raises an eyebrow:
“Really?”
She nods decisively:
“Yeah. I mean, the more I think about it, the more I look between you, yes. You could definitely be related.”
Merlin nods his head slowly, thinking. He takes in a deep breath and tilts his head slightly:
“It could work. I haven’t really talked to anyone about my family so... we could say that... he came to live with me? Because life here is... good?”
Morgana snorts slightly, rolling her eyes before looking back at him seriously:
“You’d have to be more convincing than that. You could say that the harvest was poor in your village? That Mordred was better off coming to stay with his big brother in the big city?”
Merlin nods at her words, grimacing slightly as he mutters:
“If we’re running with the whole... brother thing, I need to write a letter to my mum, just in case. Gods she’s going to laugh so much.”
Morgana laughs at him quietly, but the noise finally catches Mordred’s attention and he looks up in confusion. Merlin moves the basket to the floor, and gestures to the boy to come over.
He walks over wordlessly, climbing up to kneel between them, biting his lip nervously.
“Is it time for me to leave, Emrys?” echoes through Merlin’s head, and he gives the boy a comforting smile, shaking his head slightly, before saying out loud:
“You’re staying with me, Mordred-”
The boy smiles slightly as he stares at Merlin in reverence, and Morgana quickly hides her questioning gaze. She could see that there was more between them than simple protectiveness over a child, and thankfulness for being saved, but she kept her thoughts to herself as Merlin continued:
“-but we can’t keep you hidden in here forever, so we’re going to tell people that you’re my younger brother, come to live with me. Is that alright?”
Mordred nods his head vigorously, and Merlin chuckles slightly as the boy’s grin grew:
“Ok. We’ll get you a haircut and tell Gaius the plan. Probably wait a few more days for things to settle down further, and then see how it goes, ok?”
Mordred nods once more, smile not leaving his face. Morgana bites her lip to stop herself from laughing at Merlin’s shocked face when the boy threw himself into the servant’s arms for a tight hug.
~
Merlin spends the next few days teaching Mordred all about Ealdor and his mother and Will, so that the boy could have at least a little knowledge on what was supposedly his home and family.
The next time Morgana came to visit, she brought a comb and a sharp pair of scissors, as well as a few more changes of clothes that looked less... Druid. By the time she left that evening, Mordred had much shorter hair, and a wide grin on his face at the prospect of finally being able to go outside (he was Druid after all, he needed trees and fresh air).
The letter had been sent home, and Merlin was expecting a reply any day now. The only thing left to worry about was how to hide Mordred’s Druid marking. It would be easy to cover with clothes, but Uther’s increasing paranoia meant that it would be best if they could find a more permanent solution.
Gaius suggested some sort of glamour spell fairly quickly, but Merlin was unwilling to cast one on the boy until he’d mastered it.
And THAT meant showing up to serve Arthur with ink all over his hands that he had tried and failed to cover.
Merlin had also realised with dawning horror, that he would have to tell Morgana the truth. She knew about the marking, and she was smart, there was no way that hiding it wasn’t something that had occurred to her. She would bring it up eventually, and how could Merlin explain without having to... explain??
Morgana was already risking her favour with the King, and frankly, her life, by protecting a Druid... she would do the same for Merlin, right? But Mordred hadn’t actually done any magic... BUT she’d always spoken against executions... BUT Merlin had lied and hidden it from her, his friend...
Hmm...
In the end, he’d decided he would just have to suck it up, and tell her. Fuck whatever that dragon said. After Kilgharrah’s last round of... advice, Merlin had been ignoring his calls. If there was an emergency, the cryptic bastard would tell him, and until then he could just sulk in that cave on his own.
That two weeks was also enough for Uther to become convinced that the mysterious Druid boy really was long gone, and to just forget about it. He was pissed of course, but talking about it and extending the search just highlighted that a child, barely eleven summers, had managed to evade all of his forces and that... did not cast him in a good light.
It took Merlin about two weeks to fully master the spell, which was longer than the three of them were hoping, but he was adamant that he perfect it before he cast it on Mordred, and Gaius was incredibly impressed at his ward’s determination.
Morgana was of course confused about why they kept pushing it back, she thought they were only going to wait a few days before they started introducing Mordred, but she trusted Merlin and saw no harm in waiting a little longer.
When Morgana arrived that evening, she could tell that Merlin was... anxious. They’d agreed on a specific day to make introductions but it wasn’t until the end of this week, it didn’t make any sense for Merlin to suddenly be nervous about it.
Mordred wasn’t quite as good at hiding his emotions, and didn’t even giggle like he normally did when Morgana came over, just stared at his “brother” anxiously.
Morgana rolled her eyes and huffed as she shut the door:
“Alright, Merlin. What is it? Spit it out.”
Merlin opened his mouth, about to come out with an excuse, before he snapped it shut again and took a deep breath.
It worried him, how easy, how automatic it was for him to lie, but that was a worry for another time.
Mordred reached up and took his hand, squeezing it, and Merlin looked down at him with a weak smile before sitting on the bed and gesturing that Morgana join him.
She looked at him worriedly, but settles where he gestures, and doesn’t acknowledge the way Mordred sits defensively between them.
The boy looks back at Merlin:
“Are you sure, Emrys?”
Merlin gives him another smile, and squeezes his shoulder slightly as he raises an eyebrow:
“I’m sure. And you need to get used to calling me Merlin at some point.”
Mordred pouts slightly, and Merlin ruffles his hair as he laughs, before looking back up at Morgana’s questioning stare.
He takes another deep breath, before slowly speaking:
“I... we’ve found a way to properly hide Mordred’s marking.”
Morgana looks taken aback, but relieved:
“Oh. Is that all? That’s good isn’t it? I have to admit, it was worrying me.”
Merlin gulps:
“Yeah it... it is good... it’s just, it involves... magic.”
Morgana raises her eyebrow, and nods slowly, as if it were obvious:
“I figured it would be. It’s not like it would be easy or reliable to cover it with make-up every morning, or hide it with clothes.-”
It’s Merlin’s turn to look taken aback now, and Mordred fixes her with an unreadable expression. Morgana continues:
“-The problem, lies in finding someone willing to do whatever spell it is. Someone we could trust wouldn’t share the secret, no matter what.”
Merlin grimaces slightly, more gulping, and taking yet another deep breath:
“We already have someone. Me.”
Morgana gasps slightly, and she’s vaguely aware of the brothers in front of her tensing up, but all she can focus on is the gold of Merlin’s irises.
The gold fades, and Merlin clears his throat, breaking her out of her stupor. She reaches over and punches Merlin harshly on the arm before getting up and beginning to pace, speechless.
Merlin and Mordred panic at first, but when she makes no moves towards the door in her pacing, they relax. That only lasts for a moment or two however, before she looks back to Merlin, furious:
“Are you thick Merlin? Why on earth would you learn magic in Camelot of all places?? Do you have a death wish!?”
Merlin laughs slightly, cheeks turning pink as he rubs the back of his neck:
“Actually uh... I was born with magic; I’ve always had it. My mother sent me here because she thought I would learn to control it better.”
Morgana looks incredulous as she continues to rant:
“What? With the fear of execution hanging over your head?! That’s not control, that’s terror.”
Merlin shrugs:
“It works though. My magic is mostly instinctual, the threat of torture by pyre sure as hell stops me from losing control when I’m angry or scared or whatever...”
Morgana huffs, crossing her arms and fixing him with a glare. Both Merlin and Mordred cower slightly as they are reminded of angry and disproving mothers; as if they were about to be scolded for getting their clothes dirty, or ruining their dinner with too many snacks.
She just stares at him for a minute, before she sags slightly, and begins chuckling at the boys’ fearful faces:
“You are ridiculous. But it’s far too late to persuade you to leave now. Does Arthur know?”
Merlin’s face morphs into a mournful frown, as he looks to the floor and mumbles:
“No. I wish I could tell him but... with Uther...”
Morgana sighs, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder:
“Uther won’t be here forever. We’ll just have to keep Arthur from turning into too much of a prat before he becomes King.-”
Merlin laughs at that, and looks up to give the woman a grateful smile. She returns his smile before continuing:
“-So, you can do the spell?”
Merlin winces slightly and gestures for Mordred to pull the collar of his shirt down, to reveal a blank patch of skin:
“I’ve actually already done it. It’ll stay there permanently until I take it off. Though we should keep checking, just in case.”
Morgana looks surprised, and smiles:
“What’s the problem then?-”
She rolls her eyes when Merlin looks at her incredulously:
“-Oh, come on Merlin. I’m not going to turn you in, you’re safe with me. You both are, and you always will be.”
The servant jumps up to give her a tight hug, which she quickly returns as Mordred nervously joins in. Morgana smiles to herself, and squeezes her boys tighter.
She may love Uther and Arthur, and she knew they loved her back, in their own way, but this? This was family.
~
The time finally came for Merlin to introduce his baby brother. Hunith had supposedly dropped him off late last night and left immediately, having to get back home quickly.
Morgana had gone to gather Gwen and Arthur whilst Merlin and Mordred waited in their room (it was definitely their room now, instead of just Merlin’s).
It was early in the morning, and to say that Arthur was grumpy at being woken by Morgana instead of Merlin, was an understatement.
But he eventually caved, and dressed himself as he grumbled, allowing Morgana to drag him to meet Gwen (who was equally confused) before the three of them made their way to the Physician’s chambers.
Gaius was suspiciously absent, and Morgana knocked on Merlin’s door, before slowly opening it and walking in, Arthur and Gwen following her quickly.
Gwen was surprised at the sight of Merlin stood behind a child, hands protectively on his shoulders, but smiled and gave Mordred a soft wave in greeting.
Arthur however, froze, and stared at the boy with a shocked expression.
Morgana moved to stand next to Mordred, and took one of his hands as Merlin began to speak:
“Gwen, Arthur, I want you to meet my baby brother, Mordred. He’s come to live with me.”
Gwen waved again, and bent over to Mordred’s height:
“Hi Mordred, I’m Guinevere, but all my friends call me Gwen. I didn’t know that Merlin had a brother, but it’s lovely to meet you.”
Mordred gave her a small smile, and Merlin suppressed a chuckle as-
“I like her, Em- Merlin.”
-echoed through his head.
Arthur’s gaze moved away from Mordred finally, up to Merlin.
Merlin stared back at him blankly, but Arthur saw the way his jaw clenched as he moved a protective hand down, to pull Mordred closer to him.
The Prince let out a deep sigh, growling slightly as Gwen looked at him in confusion, and Morgana and Merlin stared at him challengingly.
He shook his head as his shoulders sagged, and he rubbed at his eyes with the palms of his hands before looking back to Mordred with a strained smile:
“It’s nice to meet you, Mordred. My name’s Arthur.”
With that, Morgana smirks slightly, and Merlin relaxes. Gwen just rolls her eyes:
“Sorry about him Mordred, he doesn’t spend much time around people your age.”
Mordred gives her another smile, and Merlin glances to Gwen, before looking down at Mordred:
“Why don’t you go with Morgana and Gwen to see the city a little? Me and Arthur need to talk, I’ll catch up with you later, ok?”
Mordred turns around quickly, and grabs Merlin’s hand tightly:
“You promise??”
Gwen holds in an “awww” and Morgana hides her smile. Mordred rarely talks aloud (she’d been told of the mental link), but she’s glad to see he was feeling at least a little more comfortable.
Merlin crouches down, and pulls the boy into a tight hug, stroking his hair slightly as he stares straight at Arthur:
“I promise. I’ll never leave you for long Mordred.”
Arthur gulps at Merlin’s hard stare, but gives him an almost imperceptible nod, which Merlin returns as he stands up. Mordred gives him one more look as he takes one of Morgana’s hands, and one of Gwen’s, and follows them out of the room.
Morgana shuts the door quietly, and Arthur sighs again before looking at Merlin:
“What are you thinking Merlin?? You just thought I wouldn’t notice?”
Merlin crosses his arms, his glare still hard:
“No, I knew you would notice, I just had faith that you’re a better man than your father.”
Arthur is still deep in his “my father can do no wrong” faze, and takes great offense at that, taking a threatening step forward and growling:
“And what’s that supposed to mean?”
Merlin just huffs and raises an eyebrow slightly:
“I had assumed that you were not the type of man to have a child executed, just for existing.-”
Merlin copies Arthur’s step forward, raising his chin and continuing, his voice low and dangerous:
“-Did I assume correctly? Because there is nothing I wouldn’t do to protect that kid, Arthur. Nothing.”
Arthur stares at him incredulously, only managing to hold Merlin’s surprisingly confident stare for a few moments, before nodding and stepping back:
“Of course. He’s a child, Merlin, I won’t see him hurt, if I can help it.”
Merlin nods slowly, not looking away from Arthur as he softly says:
“I’ll hold you to that.-”
He walks around The Prince, opening the door and stepping halfway through before looking over his shoulder, and quietly saying to a confused Arthur:
“-If you truly believed that all magic is evil, and always corrupted, no matter what, then you wouldn’t care that he’s a child; you’d want him dead anyway. So perhaps think about your... prejudices, a little more deeply, maybe you’ll discover you are different to Uther in other ways as well.”
Before Arthur can even really process what Merlin said, the servant is shutting the door behind him, and rushing off to find his new brother.
