“i’ve been okay. you seem to be doing well too.”

“i guess so.”

the atmosphere was filled with very, very awkward silence.

“is it just me, or it’s really cold in here?” you mumbled, slowly starting to feel the cold breeze, rubbing your palms together in a desperate attempt to receive warmth.

“the heater probably broke too.” taehyun reached out his hand to you, asking for your hand.

“what’s that for?”

“oh come on yn, we both know my hands are warm and yours are always cold.” he replied, but he sees your hesitation to hold his hand.

“i get that you might be uncomfortable with it considering our situation right now but im not letting you freeze.”

“um.. my hands are sweaty.”

“ive been dealing with them when we fake dated, im sure i can deal with it now.”

“oh shut up… why didn’t you tell me? that’s embarassing” you covered your face in embarassment.

he chuckles and reaches out his hand again, and this time you took it. and didn’t let go.

from holding hands from a distance, to you laying on his shoulder, him hugging you to keep you warm, until you both doze off.

“why the hell are they here, sleeping together? hyuka, i thought you sent taehyun here to find your “thing” and you could come to me to talk about how to get them together!

“i did! but i didn’t know you sent yn to the room next to him!” hyuka replied.

“did they get back together? i mean, the door was locked!”

“i don’t think so. they probably got stuck here or something and dozed off.” hanni said disappointingly.

“well, atleast they probably talked a bit” hyuka sighs.

though this was not part of hyuka’s and hanni’s plan, but you and taehyun definitely weren’t complaining. because maybe, in a way, the universe is slowly bringing you and him back together.

ʚ reader pov ɞ

there are shoes flying everywhere, clothes laying all over the floor and an open bag placed almost perfectly in the middle of the mess.

our luggage is everywhere but in the bag and the growing mess is only making me grow more annoyed.

jeonghan has been walking back and forth in from our bedroom to the bathroom for the past five minutes while i've been trying to get my skincare done.

there's products scattered all over the bathroom counter causing some things to fall as i rummage through the mess, trying to find what i'm looking for.

a true nightmare.

"jeonghan, can you please pass me that?" i request when he walks back into the bathroom, pointing at the towel draped over the shower door.

he sighs before handing it to me and walks back out.

once i'm done getting ready, i walk to the room to see that he's made some progress with packing.

you see, we planned to go on a little retreat out of town together for the week which we have to drive to today, only thing is, we haven't packed yet and we have to meet up with the counselor at a certain time at the resort.

"you go finish getting ready, i'll continue packing." i offer and ge nods before walking off.

it's gonna be a long ass day.

"BABE!!" i hear jeonghan yell from the bathroom, i pause for a little bit, looking in out the door to make sure i heard right before he calls for me again.

i run to the bathroom and see him looking around in frustration.

"what's going on?"

"i can't find my hairband." he sulks.

"you wore it last night, where did you leave it?" i asked and he just shrugged.

i stop, spotting a hair tie on his wrist.

"just tie your hair if it's gonna be a problem."

"i wanted to wear my favorite hair band though."

i sigh, a small smile creeping onto my face as i reach for his hand, taking the hair tie off. he just silently looks at me while i do my thing.

i grab the hair brush and walk behind him, ready to do his hair.

we make eye contact through the mirror and i see him just looking at me endearingly with a soft smile on his face. i smile back at him because it's hard not to.

"why are you looking at me like that?" i ask him and he just shrugs.

"no reason."

i continue doing his hair smiling slightly at myself.

i'll forever love this man no matter what. even in this slightly awkward time in our relationship and regardless of everything that's gone down within these passed three months. none of that can change how much i love him.

once i'm done, we finish packing everything and head out.

"are you sure we have everything?" he asks and i confirm. "keys?"

"yes, i have the keys right here. let's go."

i'm driving while jeonghan handles the radio. we have lizzo playing, screaming the lyrics just having a good time when i feel my stomach rumble.

"hannie." i sheepishly call him, getting his attention. he turns the volume down to hear me better looking at me with slight concern.

"what's wrong?"

"remember how we said no stops?"

"yeah."

"i'm hungry."

"what to do with you... are we near any gas station stops?" he asks, looking around as if we haven't been surrounded by nothingness for like 35km now.

"gps?"

"no reception."

"ain't that lovely." i state sarcastically making jeonghan laugh

we finally got to a rest stop where we bought tons of snacks and got food from the restaurant.

i sigh in relief after finishing my food. while jeonghan gives me an amused look.

"why do you keep staring at me, you creep?"

"can't i just admire you? i got so lucky with a partner like you, let me appreciate that."

if he doesn't stop.

"not in the public like this." i tell him, covering my mouth as if he said something scandalous.

"why not?" he chuckles.

"there are people listening."

"let them. come on, let's go."

i let out a yawn, standing up and jeonghan notices.

"should i drive?"

"please do."

"alright, let's get going."

we put the things in the car, following suit, getting situated to continue our road trip.

"you all buckled up?" jeonghan teases and i roll my eyes.

"i'm not five." i protest.

"you act five."

"hey."

and he drives off.

i look at the signs and notice jeonghan completely missed the exit. i look back at him as he just nonchalantly drives.

"we not going to the resort no more?" i ask him rhetorically.

"what?"

"you missed the exit."

"shit."

he slows down, moving into the slower lane as he tries to think of something.

"there's probably another exit somewhere. we'll be fine."

"it you say so."

"baby. wake up, we've arrived." i hear jeonghan say as he shakes me awake.

i open my eyes, taking in my surroundings.

"we've arrived."

i look around, eyes finally open and see that it's getting dark.

"were late." i tell him, sleepily and he just smiles.

"only by a few hours. don't worry, i let the counselor know we'd be late."

"oh good." i smile, still half asleep.

"come on sleepy head." he helps me out, placing a kiss on my forehead as we head into the check-in office.

"i'm tired." i mumble.

"i know honey."

" hi hanni .. " she looks at you and backs away from the hug just to hold your hand , you both walk to class while talking about your day .

" what do you think about going to an ice cream date today after school ? " Hanni said .

" Ooo that would be so cool ! " you smile excitedly , she chuckles .

" okay then little puppy ! " She said smiling teasingly , You pout at her while glaring too .

" I’m not a little puppy ! I’m just 2 cm smaller then you ! " you said , she chuckles and drags you inside the class , Danielle who is seating beside haerin spots both of you and smiles .

" Hellaur girls ! You guys took a long time " She said pouting .

" We didn’t even take that much time .. " Hanni said while you stick your tongue out , Danielle rolls her eyes playfully and drags you both to seat were you , haerin , hanni & her sit .

Haerin says hi to both of you and you both return the hi .

You look over to hanni while the class is still going on , you see her looking at wonyoung .

You feel kinda hurt since before you guys dated you were friends , she significantly told you a lot of times that she had a big crush on wonyoung which everytime it would hurt you before you had a crush on her ever since you both became friends , you tought it was strange at first that she confessed to you because she always talked about wonyoung …

But you just accepted it as it was .

But you still see some hints of her crush on wonyoung , she always looks at wonyoung when she passes by , or she sometimes ignores you when your talking just to look at wonyoung .

You tried to ignore it but you couldn’t .

" Y/N are you there ? " Haerin said while tapping your shoulder , you turn to Haerin and nod , she looks at we’re you were looking and finally understand , you always told all your insecurities and secrets to Haerin and Danielle , you told them about your fear of not being perfect and beautiful like Wonyoung is , and what if Hanni loved you more if you were equally as beautiful as Wonyoung , they always told you that Hanni loved me for who i am not because of my beauty , and that if Hanni breaks your heart they would definitely protect you and that i shouldn’t be thinking about Hanni having a crush on Wonyoung now because she’s with me .

But i still cant get it out of my head the way she looks at her , it tortures me thinking of how she must love Wonyoung more then me or she just is with me because of pity .

" Hey Y/N don’t think about it , let’s just have fun now okay ? Take it out of your mind .. " she smiles softly at you and you nod at her .

Haerin always was so sweet to you , you loved how she has never hurted you and how she loves being friends with you so much , Danielle was always there for you too and she never had hurted you , both were great friends that you cherish so much .

The bell suddenly rings and you all pack your bags to go eat .

" Ughhhhh it was saur annoying ! " Danielle sighed , Hanni agreed with her while you and Haerin minded your own business .

While you were telling a funny story and everyone was laughing , you spotted Hanni looking at wonyoung , you suddenly stopped laughing and telling your story that was half finished , tears threatened to fall and both Haerin and Danielle noticed you suddenly all quiet while Hanni didn’t even care , you stand up and run away whitout even looking back once .

Haerin and Danielle look at each other for a second and follow you , Hanni finally realises everyone is gone .

" Hey we’re are you guys whitout me ? Don’t leave me alone ! " Hanni said running behind Danielle who is now in the hall of school .

" It’s none of your business . " Danielle said while she stopped running , she’s now looking at hanni disappointed .

" It is .. We’re is Y/N she was just right the- "

" Go back at Admiring Wonyoung would you ? "

Hanni looked stunned , She didn’t move .

" What do you mean ? " Hanni said .

" Hanni , it’s obvious that you still like Wonyoung , Why did you even ask Y/N to date if it was for you too just forget she was always here for you ? "

Danielle said honestly , Hanni didn’t know what to say .

" I don’t like Wonyou- "

" ITS OBVIOUS YOU DO DONT DENY IT ! " Danielle said this time shouting , she didn’t have patience anymore .

Hanni now furious , shouts back .

" AND WHAT IF I DO ? I LIKE Y/N DONT DO THIS . " Hanni admitted whitout realising it , You who is now crying behind the stairs while Haerin hugs you , You get up furiously and stomp your way to the middle of the hall .

You chuckle , " Hanni you just admired you like her , Why did you even date me ? we’re you just pitying me ? answer honestly , i was always there for you but you ? you were spending your time admiring her … and you know what ? i saw you kissing her in that party , i acted as if it was all okay and didn’t say anything , and you know why ? i was blinded by love , Hanni i love you so so so much but you just hurt me … so we are over . " you let it all out of your chest , Hanni who’s now tears are falling .

The crowd who now just joined gasped , You turn and make your way out of the school , Hanni holds your wrist and begs you to stay .

" No Hanni we are over , be happy and please don’t hurt anyone anymore , Bye hanni it was nice to have met you . " You smile trough tears and finally leave the school .

Hanni is crying while begging as if you were still here .

" Please don’t go i will do anything .. "

ʚ 🐇 ɞ

" oh my god why this so long ……. " Danielle said sighing , You , Haerin & Danielle are at a new amusement park that just opened , in the queue for a roller coaster you all agree with Danielle and wait impatiently .

You look around when your eyes land on someone very familiar ….. Hanni ….. you start panicking as she now spots you with widened eyes .

" Y/N is that you ? I missed you so much … " She hugs you while you stay still , you will not lie , you missed her hugs .

" Y/N im so sorry please .. listen to me i didn’t want to hurt yo- "

" I’m back , Oh hi Y/N it’s been a long time ! "

Wonyoung comes holding two cotton candies , you don’t look too shocked .

" I see , you still trying to cheat all these years ? You really haven’t changed Hanni .. "

Hanni denies , Her eyes suddenly land on your hand interlaced with another pair of hands , it was Haerin’s hands .

" You’re dating Haerin ? Y/N please- "

Hanni said pleading , you cut her off .

" Hanni Go love Wonyoung shes your girlfriend now , move on please , and yes i am dating Haerin … " You smile at Haerin and she smiles back at you .

Hanni now shocked , you repeat .

" Hanni please we are already over , be happy and please don’t hurt her , she didn’t do anything , Bye Hanni live a happy live with your girlfriend . "
