Fun fact I didn't know until I started researching for this: apparently when someone looses an eye, it's possible that the other eye adapts. This is not good in the beginning as the remaining eye stops working for a while (???!). While long term it's not as noticeable (just less field of vision and some problems with depth perception sometimes) it's, uh... interesting :,D

Correct me if I'm wrong about this tho. I did my research, but sometimes there's misinformation out there so don't trust it 100% without checking it first.

I had hopes for this but the end result is not particularly an improvement imo

There are 4 options

1st option - ends the dialogue but you can ask the twins again

2nd and 3rd option - end the dialogue and you can't ask the twins again as long as Gale's your LI (I assume)

this is what you get if you try to ask again

And this is pretty much where any positive changes end imo

The 4th option can lead to sex. And they decided to word it like that. In Gale's mind, making love as gods is about intertwining their spirits. It's intimate on a profoundly deep level. It's not just about sex, but also about a connection to the person you love.

And that is used as a reason that he must be curios about having sex in a brothel with a couple of hired randos... It's just so disappointing and yikes to me.

The problem with this whole scene for me wasn't the persuasion roll itself, but the coercive manner the option plays out. That hasn't changed, but now you also don't need to roll for this decision which undermines that it's a shitty decision actually. Does this look like the face of a person who's enthusiastic about smth?

To me it reads that he definitely doesn't want to participate, but would tolerate watching his partner participate. But he sure af doesn't look like he wants any of this.

The rest of the scene plays out like it did before I think, soothing the player for their choice by implying that Gale enjoyed it actually, it's all fiiiine.

Billy gets his curls from his mom.

Of course he does. Everything he actually likes about himself is mostly just because of her.

(And everything Neil despises about him is mostly just because of her.)

She didn’t leave many things when she left.

But, she left a dove grey scarf. A soft soil one that she would use to tie up her hair before she went to bed.

She told Billy it made her curls smoother, more defined, less frizzy.

Billy had forgotten about it. It was actually Steve that had found it in a box of miscellaneous items Billy was refusing to unpack, even after being in Hawkins for nearly six months.

Steve had let the cool silk run between his fingers.

“What’s this?” He asked, and Billy always likes how Steve can keep his voice even. Nonjudgmental.

“Scarf.”

Billy’s heart had tightened at the view of that scarf. He had forgotten about it.

“Why do you have it?”

“My mom. It was her’s.”

Steve just gave him a doe-eyed look, holding the scarf in front of him like some kind of precious artifact of Billy’s fucked up life.

“She used to wear them to bed. Tie her hair up, you know? She said it made her curls better.”

It always did. Her hair was always so beautiful. Sometimes she and Billy would sit in the back yard, in the soft grass, and she would brush out her hair. And they’d laugh at how huge it would get, but it was always as soft as the silk that Steve was holding.

Steve smiled, sitting down in front of Billy on his bed.

It was a rare moment of having the house to themselves.

Steve had parked three blocks away and walked, ducking around the back of the neighbor’s house to sneak in Billy’s window.

He reached up, clumsily tying the scarf around Billy’s head, tucking his hair in.

“There.” He smiled brightly, leaning forward to press a kiss to Billy’s heated cheek.

Billy started sleeping with the scarf.

Not only because his curls got better, (smoother, more defined, less frizzy, just like she always said) and not only because Steve liked to play with the thick ringlets, but because he missed her. He missed his mom every goddamn day of his goddamn life.

And sometimes, when he tied his hair up, he could pretend she had just done the knot for him. That she had tucked in any stray hairs and pinned the scarf to each side.

He’d do anything to feel close to her.

I listened to Succession soundtrack a lot today and had about the most productive day I’ve had in so so long

things done today:

7h of coding

went to my sister’s kid’s birthday party (mario theme 🍄)

So rumor has it that the Light Fury's design was solely based around the concept of "lady dragon." Apparently, so I've heard, the team behind her design didn't want her to look "too reptilian, like a lot of dragons."

Your parents are lovely, really. They make sure your every need is met, they spoil you and always tell you how much they adore you.

There's however one thing that frustrates you to no end.

Your parents would beg for years to their lord in the hopes that one day you'll speak.

It's not like you were stupid, absolutely not. If only people would understand how clever you were.

Douma, being the kind person he is (he claimed that title himself) took it upon himself to "help" you.

That's how you ended up in his quarters. Your parents waved goodbye as they left and telling you to be good. You hated it when they treated you like a small child.

Your face had a sour expression as you looked at him. This was the guy who was supposed to "cure" you?

"I don't think we've met before, have we? I'm Douma, but I think you already know that." He jokingly winked at you. "What's your name, kid?" He tried.

Silence.

Douma points a finger at you. "Speak now and I won't tell anyone." He smirks.

Yet again, silence. You quirk his eyebrow at him. Was he really his stupid?

"I'm your lord y'know, it would be rude to just ignore me." Douma whines before throwing himself back against his mountain of pillows.

A smile grazed your lips. Normally you'd just be annoyed by these desperate attempts to get you to talk, however you never expected this side from your lord.

Douma stared at the ceiling for a moment before sitting up, he looked at you.

"Well we've got an hour to kill, what would you like to do?"

You shrugged.

"Would you like to play a card game?"

Your eyes lit up at the idea and nodded excitedly. You loved card games, better yet, you were undefeated at them. Douma looked excited at this opening.

He grabbed a stack of hanafuda cards and shuffled them before dealing them between the two of you. "Are you familiar with koi koi?" He asked.

You nodded, of course you knew what koi koi was. You were the best at it.

"Now, I will warn you that I'm really good at it, but I'll go easy on you, kid."

You snorted at him, making Douma cock an eyebrow at you an amused expression on his face.

"What was that? Are you doubting me? You know I won't let you go off the hook now, huh?" He laughed, shaking his head. You had guts, he liked that.

You beat him. Hard.

"I want a rematch." He demanded jokingly, despite his ego being bruised a bit.

He lost, again. And again. Until finally the time ran out.

"Same time, tomorrow?"

And so you did, everyday from that point on. He'd always make time out of his busy schedule for the two of you to play a quick game, despite getting his ass handed to him everytime.

Douma grew alongside you, he grew comfortable enough to not hide behind fake smiles and playful teasing, he was true to himself around you. He didn't feel like he'd have to fake feeling emotions around you.

"Thank you," you spoke hoarsely, barely above a whisper after months of playing cards with him "for making me feel normal."

Douma, not bothering to look up from his cards, almost like you spoke everyday, returned the sentiment. "Thank you for making me feel normal too, kid."

I guess I'm gonna get involved with the "Luis Serra is a white man" allegations because absolutely not.

He's from a remote island in Spain, right? An island no one has really heard of before in the Resident Evil universe, right? And if that we're so, that would also mean that there's little to no tourists or people moving there, right? And if all of the people there are natives, how the fuck is Luis white? (With a capital 'hwa')

Make it make sense please for the love of god.

Besides, there are thousands of different cultures just in Spain alone, so there's little doubt in my kind that Luis can't be mixed. He could be Hispanic and African. He could be partially Indigenous partially Hispanic. He could he fully Indigenous for all we know.

So why do you want to make him white so bad? It's so frustrating.

There are barely any true POC main characters in a lot of medias, including Resident Evil, so why can't you just be happy that people are getting representation?
