🖕 A headcanon relating to anger for hiccup!

Hiccup is one to let his anger simmer, to stew in it. He’s used to his anger being ignored or not taken seriously, so he feels like there’s no use for it. This does, inevitably, make him explode. You can’t tell me this guy went through 15 years of bullying and being ostracized and came out normal. He’s going to have some unhealthy habits, and I can see anger being something he has to work on.

Astrid freezes in place, her gut growing cold at the word “baby.” “A… baby?” She asks them to repeat themselves, slowly turning to face them. “Uh yeah, that’s what I just said,” Ruffnut seems none too pleased that she had to repeat such joyous news. As if it’s that hard to believe that a family as extensive as theirs could have another on the way. “A baby,” Astrid nods, shock on her voice. “A baby.” “Ah, Astrid? Are you okay?” Hiccup asks. They can all see that she’s acting strange and quite out of nowhere. Instead of answering, she storms out of the club house, leaving everyone else behind as she searches for the comfort of her hut.

im so grateful for the existence of the httyd shows because without them fishlegs, snotlout and the twins would just be quirky side characters there to fill out the movies' casts. but the shows got to give them so much development and attention and now the dragon riders are one of my favourite found familys ever.

oh to be a rider on the edge, watching hiccup and fishlegs geeking out, snotlout avoiding astrid's axe and the twins finding something else to explode. and then they all enjoy heather's mutton chops together. i love them <333
