6. What is your favourite parallel/reference in the show?
I don’t know about it being my favourite, I’d have to put a lot more thought in to admit something like that, but one that’s been on my mind recently that I haven’t seen talked about very much is the scene where Hawk tells Tim about his plan to move to Italy and asks Tim to keep it between them, and Tim throws out the most Chekhov’s gun of reply and goes ‘I’ll take it to my grave’ and he DOES. when Lucy comes to talk to him in the 80s, he knows their planning on moving to Italy. He knows Hawk’s plan for Italy. I think maybe at that point, he’s kind of certain that Lucy does too, they don’t need to say it outloud. idk. I just kind of. he kept his promise girls i

14. Do you have any unpopular opinions about Fellow Travelers?
I’ve seen a LOT of hate for Lucy’s big final speech in the 80s saying goodbye to Hawk, especially the ‘I thought, once he was dead, things might all be over and we could live like a normal couple’ (paraphrasing) and like I get it, she’s wishing for our special little lesbian lumberjacks death and like bitch omg. But also not at all bitch, that piece of writing was so BEAUTIFULLY truthful. We spend 8 episodes of everyone just lying and lying and lying. To themselves and everyone else around them. Then BOOM episode 8 comes and everything’s just finally laid arse cheeks out in the sun after DECADES and it’s so REFRESHING. Like yeah, ofc she wished Tim was just gone. I get it. She’s held onto this hope she never actually really believed in because the lying had clawed in so DEEP, that thinking there might be a way out of the mess they’ve curated for themselves in life without having to up-end everything good in it as well, was all she had. Telling herself Tim’s death would be the end of it, even though she knows about the other affairs (the gardener i think it is?? etc), was the last bit of hope she had, just how Hawk seems to have stuck his claws into the Italy dream and not let go of it the entire time, despite knowing he’s dug far too deep in for it to ever become a reality now. But then she meets Tim and realises this isn’t just the soldier who wrote the love letter or the criminal Hawk kept in his cabin, this is the man Hawk loves, and that’s never going to just be gone. This ruins everything. She can’t hold onto the lies or the hope anymore. And she tells Hawk all of this and it’s so raw and beautiful and brave and we BOO her???? no not on my watch girls. No more Lucy hate!!!!! I’m leading the march
16. If you could give the show an alternative ending, what would happen in your version?
It was all a bad dream Tim had from drinking some slightly gone off milk and uhm they actually get uhm married and live happily ever after in San Francisco attending aerobic classes <333
Ok no but, I really like the ending. I was STRESSED about how they were gonna pull it off satisfyingly with so many ends to tie up and not a lot of time left to do it but WAOW did they give us something beautiful !!!! I think maybe something I would have liked to see (not actually changed, but just purely selfishly bc i love them) is Tim and Hawk dancing at the gala 🥹 like i get why they didn’t, that would have been too much of a leap for Hawk’s character at that point in time but AGH how i would have fallen at Ron’s feet and kissed the ground that little man walks on if we had got to see that
20. If Fellow Travelers had a spin-off or continuation, what would you like it to be about?
i want a PREQUEL and i want to see Kenny and I want to see Bob and I want to see Lucy’s trip to Europe and I want to see more of that initial relationship between Hawk and Lucy’s brother (pardon me but what the shit is his name again? Kevin or something??) because listen there is something there, they only briefly go into it but i can literally see all scenes in my head, there’s so much potential!!! I need to go read some fics now

For the "wish you would write that fic" thing: I've seen vids on tumblr with Raúl Esparza dancing and it looks like he's got moves and since then I can't stop thinking about a Barisi Strictly Come Dancing AU. With Raf as the professional dancer and Sonny as the klutzy celeb ofc. They would argue about steps and speed and whatnot but they'd also fall in love because all that body contact and a really good rumba is basically foreplay.

ONF'S PERSONALITY IN BED (Gap version + More Rei's Writing Notes)
HYOJIN
Hyojin super gentle and attentive during foreplay but when he is at it, i am thinking should have the outburst emotion of "shit you are cute" , he might sometimes lose it and be a rough but it was with your consent. He will be hesitant to go intense at first. His rough was not BDSM type of rough, more of a light tugging on your arms so that you have no control and he will initiate forceful rams towards you. But as he learns while tally with his instincts, he gets more courage/comfortable to have more freedom on having his way towards you.

Current project - In Mr. & Mrs. Archeron I'm really looking forward to writing the scenes where Nesta and Cassian realize they're actively working against each other because it'll be so funny and it's 100% their twisted version of foreplay dkasdnjaks
Future project - I've been working on and off on an alternate ACOSF where Nesta goes to autumn and is betrothed to Eris (who is VERY gay, I will die on this hill) and they purposely fuck with the IC

This is from my WIP When it Rains (title taken from one of my fave Paramore songs); I'm debating making this one-shot the prologue to my alternate ACOSF:
Best of all, it would be one of the first real choices she’d be able to make for herself. All her life she’d been subject to someone else’s whims. It didn’t matter if it was her youngest sister holding the keys now instead of her mother or her ex-fiancé or even the gods-damned King of Hybern – it was still a cage. A rather nice one, considering how ridiculously wealthy Rhysand and Feyre were, but a cage all the same.
In canon, Nesta repeatedly has had things and her choices taken away from her, the biggest to me being her own body being taken from her when she was Made. Contrast that with Feyre, who has a lot of agency in the story (don't even get me started on our FeMiNisT Mr. Choices rice-man) and IMO Nesta has every right to be livid that she hasn't been allowed to make her own choices.
Also from my alternate ACOSF:
“The only ones out here are you and I, Morrigan. You have no weapons, and your power is a drop compared to my ocean. Would anyone even hear you scream?”
I just.... omg. Sometimes my own brain surprises me. For context this is Nesta speaking to Mor, just the two of them.
5 - What character that you're writing do you most identify with?
Nesta 1000000%. I'm nowhere near as introverted as her (I think on the outside I'm actually very similar to Cassian) but as an older sister with weird family dynamics BOY do I relate to her. Especially walking around with all that rage at the world and her circumstances... that was me as a child for sure. I also know what things to say to people to hurt them (like Nesta does) but I've definitely learned to not to do that anymore because I hate doing that.
10 - How would you describe your writing process?
non-linear for sure lol. if I'm writing a multi-chapter thing, I'll write the "big moments" first and then work my way towards them randomly. I like jumping around a lot. One-shots it's much easier for me to write chronologically because it's just Point 1 in the story, vs multi-chapter things have Points 1, 2, 3, and 4. So I'll write points 1 and 3 and then jump around and maybe write point 1.3 and point 2.5 and then maybe I get inspired to write point 4, and it's chaotic and a lot happening but I get inspired for scenes not in chronological order and I HAVE to write them down if any of that makes sense.
Mr. & Mrs. Archeron is actually the first story I wrote an "outline" for because I wanted to closely follow the movie, so I rewatched it and took notes of things I wanted to include in the story and things I wanted to change or just outright not include, so this one feels much more organized because I know what I want to write as opposed to coming up with most of it by myself. I still jump around and write things not necessarily in order or chronologically in the story, but I know how I want the story to flow in a much more concrete way so it's not as .... chaotic as usual.
I also make Pinterest boards for my story ideas when I get super attached to them, so I have a general Nesta aesthetic one, an alternate ACOSF one, a Mean Girls AU one, a Mr. & Mrs. Archeron one, and one that I won't mention because I haven't talked about it on here yet and I want it to be a surprise gnfmksfns

Hi again! This is part two (out of three!) of my 2019 drarry fic recs. In the first part I recommended ten of my absolute favorite stories I read this year, and here I am today with ten more that I also love dearly and hope you’ll enjoy too. Now, in no particular order, here’s some of my
FAVORITE FICS I READ IN 2019 PART TWO
1. Of Wands and Trees - Omi_Ohmy - 45k - All Draco wants to do is be a wandmaker, but to do so he needs to understand the soul of trees. Of course, the only man who might be able to help him is the one man who is more of a mystery to him than any tree.
We’re starting out this list with this absolute gemstone of a fic. It’s got everything: adventure, redemption, cabins in the middle of nowhere, a spin on the kind of magic we’re used to in this fandom, ancient trees, passion, wandlore, Draco being forced to work for his own food, Harry bathing naked in streams (my mouth’s watering as we speak), and it’s so, so good, the writing, the characterizations, the setting so vibrant I felt like I was standing right there. Just, a gem all around.
2. Take Into the Air (My Quiet Breath) - guardianmira - 11k - Draco is dying of Hanahaki Disease. Serves him right, Harry thinks.
This fic felt, to me, like something completely different from the eighth year fics I usually read, and, having found it by accident, it absolutely blew my mind! I did not expect to love it as much as I did, and I definitely did not expect to feel it as deeply as I did. Just the right amount of angst to give us that sweet, sweet relief at the end. Very lovely.
3. We have a Problem - @xx-thedarklord-xx - 3k - Weddings tend to have a variety of things happening at one time. With a groom as meticulous as Draco, Ron expected nothing to go wrong. When shenanigans, walkouts, disasters, no-shows, and a lack of food strike, it’s up to Ron to save the day.
SO SWEET. Just so, so freaking sweet and funny and different. Ron’s POV was fresh and lovely and so clever, and the plot is hilarious and engaging. It reads so quickly that you will barely feel time passing, and I am 10000% sure that everyone’s bound to adore this. It’s just one of those fics. I cannot recommend it enough. It will be the absolute best 15-20 minutes of your day.
4. Foreplay - @lqtraintracks - 6k - Getting a raging hard-on on the duelling room floor, pinned under Harry Potter’s sweaty body, is not how Draco saw his day going, but… Well, here he is.
Mmfffff. Can barely think about this without having to fan myself, because it’s probably the hottest fic I read all year. Aurors sparring, a Harry who is unbelievably hot, a Draco who tries but simply can’t resist him, showers, a bit of semi-public sex, and the very literal definition of “not safe for work” can be found in here. Just, goodness, it should’ve taken me half an hour to read it and it took about one because I KEPT STOPPING TO BREATHE. Lqt never fails to deliver powerful, incredibly sexy stories and you should all go see for yourselves what I’m talking about.
5. Safe Words - felix_atticus - 26k - Draco discovers his husband has been keeping a secret from him. At first he’s amused. Then he’s curious. The problem? Harry’s always had a hard time saying no.
Speaking of powerful, this one here stabbed me right in the chest and twisted the knife, but in the absolute best way possible. It’s FANTASTIC. The writing is beautiful, the characterizations astounding, and I felt every single emotion so deep inside me. It paints how difficult it is to navigate trust, how impossible it feels to put our own wants and needs over what’s expected of us, explores consent in so many different aspects of life and just presents a beautiful relationship at its core. It really is gorgeous.
6. Upstaged - @lettersbyelise - 3k - West End actor Drake O'Malley starts receiving fanmail from a (not so mysterious) stranger.
The epistolary format already makes this stand apart from our usual fic, but the plot itself is also something I hadn’t ever read before. It’s written so smoothly that it reads like a dream, and I loved every second of it and how it allowed me to build up an entire picture of what was happening with each letter. I’ve gone back to it two or three times just to experience it all over again, and I always have a great time when I do. This is so lovely, witty and just different.
7. Pure Imagination - @aibidil - 14k - An eighth-year tale of depressed happiness, reluctant imagination, and conflicted hope. And skateboarding.
My god is this fic lovely. I spent about three quarters of it clutching my chest because I loved it so much, I love these kids so much and it hit me right in the feels to see everything they go through after the dust of the war settles and they have to figure out their place in life. This is hope in a jar, it’s that light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel story that becomes a metaphor for life itself. A beautiful, beautiful ride.
8. Poor Unfortunate Souls - @doubleappled - 19k - Draco is a potioneer. Harry is trying to save his sex-challenged marriage. Everything is a mess, but at least there’s an octopus in the lobby.
Chaotic, unique, HOT!!! The whole set up is brilliant, Draco’s work is very interesting, the scenes where we get to see with Harry and Ginny are so incredibly well done that my jaw fell to the floor a little, and what can I even say about the entire buildup we get for Draco and Harry’s relationship, it was MASTERFUL. This fic is absolutely amazing and the ending is so good I can still savor it when I remember it. Go check it out, right now!!!
9. Weather With You - @quicksilvermaid - 29k - Flood. Heatwave. Cyclone. Epic storm ready to rip London apart? Something strange is happening to the weather inside the Ministry of Magic…–Featuring magical creatures, Harry wearing minimal clothes, a snarky snake, and Draco Malfoy who is definitely Up To Something.
This story is such a fun ride that can, at times, be absolutely freaking hilarious (the whole “He Is Up To Something” narrative never fails to crack me up), and at times become sweet and tender. There is nothing more relatable to me than a Draco who wants Harry so much he doesn’t even know what to do with himself, and it was a joy to read him here, and actually, both of their characterizations are so fantastic that they definitely feel like an extension of what we know about them to begin with, and I just had the best of times watching them work their way out of this mess. Sprinkle in a bit of parseltongue, witty snakes and shirtless Harry, and you’ve found yourself the best way to spend the evening.
10. A Sword Laid Aside - @korlaena - 128k - When Draco’s cover is blown during a deep undercover operation and the Ministry is compromised, Ron takes Draco to the only safe place he can think of—Potter. Hiding out with a taciturn Harry Potter, who has been missing from the Wizarding World for almost two decades after a shocking fall from grace, is nothing like Draco thought it would be. Draco has to navigate dealing with this Potter while being hunted by Dark wizards and wanted by extremists in the Ministry. When things take a turn for the worse, Draco has to decide whether he’s going to keep running or find a way to protect the world and the people he cares about most.
There are so many things I want to say about this one, so many little details that drove me wild and I want to mention but I just… I- this story is absolutely MIND BLOWING, it’s deep, it’s amazing and frankly extraordinary and I don’t even know how to tell you how much I adore every single word of it. This must be one of my absolute favorite versions of Harry that I’ve ever read, his immense power, his internal conflict, pain and sheer physicality made me weak in the knees; Draco’s characterization is also so heartbreakingly spot on that I could barely believe what I was reading. This story gripped me, squeezed me, spun me around a little and then put me upright again, and there is honestly nothing like it. I haven’t even told you anything about the plot, which… omg. There are no words to tell you how much you NEED to read this. Just typing this is making me want to embark on this adventure again.

I have a question, but there is a preamble (isnt there always, with me). I had a... disagreement... today about whether working out as couple @ home is more, or less, productive than alone/in a gym (I say muuuch less, because I have eyeballs, and I get distracted AF). So, my question is: Do quarantined Daddy Steve and Bucky (or James & Steve!) workout together at home, or is it too unproductive? 1. who do u think uses the most petnames
Erick, he has a silly sense of humor so I think he comes up with crazy and silly nicknames that catch on with the rest.
2. What pet names do you think they each like to call you ~romantically~
Richard- shorty/shawty or baby girl. He has a height complex (short with a big attitude) so he is def gonna use petnames that accentuate that he is bigger than you. Though, I also think he would be the one to call you like the most grand stuff to hype you up like "my diosa" or something like that.
Chris- Cutesy version of your name. In terms of like terms of endearment I think he constantly changes them up, like for a month he calls you sweetie, then two weeks he can't stop calling you whatever cute wording the used in their new single (like honeyboo for example) and so on. He has a fun personality and needs to keep it fun and light in the relationship too.
Zabdiel- He will absolutely call you Mi amor when he is annoyed/frustrated, almost all boricuas do that. Prob just goes with mami , bebe (or the less common variant beba) and if you have a middle name he would 100 call you that. With Zabdiel, I feel petnames is all about intimacy so when he uses each petname kind of becomes code words for his moods or his feelings or just some secret joke between you two.
Joel - the one that goes absolutely into the ridiculously sweet petnames. He will call you honey, sweeatheart, mi cielo, mi reina, mi vida and prob refers to you when talking to other people as "the love of my life". This boy is a hopeless romantic and the way he uses petnames reflect that.
Erick- creatively made up petname...maybe based on something that reminds him of you or maybe some silly but adorable version of your name. Whatever it is, Erick came up with it just for you and it will 100% make you feel special. He just seems to be the type that can find humor in everything and will turn that silly humor into fun petnames.

Richard: I feel that though he doesn't really care much, he would kind of love it if you called him by his middle name. And well, the classic Papi I guess?
Chris: He would be so upset if you called him by his full first name, he automatically thinks he did something wrong when you do that. I think he would be fine with anything as long as you say it in the write tone, like if you say a sweet name but your tone isn't sweet he'd put a pouty face until you use the right tone...what you are actually using as a petname he doesnt care much.
Zabdiel: I think he prob likes to hear you say his name just like that. But he prob expect a similar version of what he calls you depending the situation so nicknames like Papi and bebé/bebo are prob tossed around the most.
Joel: anything is fair game except his name, he will call you like at least 3 petnames when talking to you and he expects the same treatment. Mi amor, mi rey, mi corazón, ect are some examples.
Erick: Prob the classic baby? Idk tbh 🙈 Maybe he is into animal petnames? Yeah, I can see that like you calling him by whatever animal the first plushie he gave you.

I loved the first chapter of Cherry Bomb🍒 and I was wondering if the DD/lg dynamic is going to slip into the interview. That video about being asked a Marvel question had me thinking... The fucking letters, jesus christ. I thought, ‘hey, wouldnt it be fun to have Billy’s point of view with him reading what she admires about him and make it super lovey dovey and sweet?’ and I almost gave up so many times cause fuck it was hard. Took over a week with switching the wording around and finding what flowed best. Also finding what didn’t sound creepy.
were there alternate versions to this fic?
Nah, I mean I could’ve had their places switch, where he’s the one that writes to her... but I loved writing him feel all blushy and giddy over someone thinking of him like that.

After the fight and the ignoring and all that pent up anger being released, there was an awkward moment with all this tension between the two in her room - that was challenging for sure. Cause he was being a piece of shit and he himself knew it, she knew it, everybody knew it. But what took some thinking was to be able to show the guy he was before the fight and his insecurities getting the best of him.
were there alternate versions of this fic?
I dabbled with a lot of reasons why they’d fight, but Billy as a person is just sensitive and insecure and him seeing something like that, no matter how innocent or short the exchange could’ve been in reality with her and some nameless stranger could still set him off and trigger the monster he’s got hidden inside. I can’t remember other scenarios I had thought of but that one stuck to me.

The relationship felt natural, like I could hear all the conversations they’ve had and seen everything they’d done together, I really really liked that dynamic but one stupid small part that killed me was writing the douchey boyfriend lol. Ultimately it’s such an insignificant part, so I scrapped any further drama with him and his deal because the story wasn’t supposed to be about him; it was supposed to be about her and Billy, their past, how it affected them both when they saw each other again after so long.

None actually! I had it in my mind right off the bat that I wanted him to be nervous and caught off guard for once. like I said in the commentary for this, I know his personality, I know he’s quite used to thinking/believing he’s the most powerful in the room but I wanted that to change for this instance, and I strayed away from having him be untouchable or macho in any way.

THE KIDS. I’ve never ever written them before, and I even debated watching a few episodes before tackling it.... but I didn’t and I think I pulled it off alright. I loved their humor. I knew Dustin was always being a paranoid goofball, Lucas as the same without all the anxiety or nerdy interests, Mike as impatient and pessimistic, and Will as being very quiet. So yeah, I overcame that doubt and just did what I thought felt right.

I thought a lot about what movie they’d watch - like a rom com would’ve been pretty funny too, but I had to have him tease and scare the kids so I made their movie of the night thing be Nightmare on Elm Street😂

A lot of this flowed easy and generally wasn’t stressful at all. Describing him as a fun drunk was a blast. Thinking of what he would he say if he had no filter and felt on top of the world. I can’t think of anything that I was held back by this time, it all came out in just a couple hours when I should’ve been sleeping lol.

When I was brainstorming by myself I thought it would just be more smutty and desperate or even a little more sad. I had it planned that she’d reject him initially, but then I got an ask that changed the game and I’m really proud of how it turned out.

Hurt/comfort is a little challenging when you wanna do it differently. I wanted to sway away from her being this perfect female caregiver that knows exactly what to say and what to do cause that’s just so hard to picture when it comes to real life and all, not that I’m mixing fiction and life it’s just sometimes hard to believe that every girl is perfect at taking care of a guy breaking down.

Nothing too different, I reasoned in my head how he’d get into trouble cause there are infinite ways Billy could’ve fucked up but.... stealing chocolate is pretty funny and juvenile, and he knew it too, but he’d absolutely still get his ass whooped anyway.

what part was hardest to write?
I found it hard to know what they’d do after she got blasted, cause.....what would two teenagers do in a small town skipping school? Also easily taking personal experience for her snapping and getting tired of her careful image cause everybody had these impossibly high expectations for her, but what they’d get up to doing that was ‘illegal’ that they could get arrested for took some time to think about.

At first I pictured them maybe like breaking in somewhere they weren’t supposed to, hence the ‘we could get arrested’ line, but skinny dipping was my favorite pitch.

what part was hardest to write?
The ending gave me a tough time, I had to think whether or not if I’d forgive someone for doing that shit to me. It’s happened before, to everybody and myself, the pains of drifting apart and the jealousy that comes with seeing them blossom and become social butterflies, the joys of being in high school... Oh and I’m still working on another part:)
were there alternate versions of this fic?
I dabbled with lots of ideas but I knew I wanted two friends growing apart, a push/pull between their relationship...I don’t remember what else I had planned that I ditched.

what part was hardest to write?
Maybe the love spell part. I wanted to write it as severe and dramatic as possible, and really show how desperate and gone he was.

Hmm, I based this off the film and it does show a lot more about the girl group besides the love spell bit, but I wanted it to focus on that cause it was more interesting fucking with Billy. I liked how dark both the movie and the fic was

My obstacle with this one was creating this female Billy in my head, which to me was basically a flawed, outrageous, outgoing/promiscuous high school girl who makes a mistake. Writing him pining was definitely enjoyable, and him practicing his lines on how he’d say how he felt and stuff. The wording was switched around a ton, but I’m fairly happy with it. It’s not perfect, he stutters and trails off because he’s nervous, but in it’s own way I think it’s a perfect display of an insecure guy summoning up any courage he has and trying to shoo away any doubt.

Oh man, tons of ideas came to my head with this one. I wondered if maybe she could’ve never gotten ‘rid’ of ‘it’ and then they run off in the sunset, raise ‘it’ together.... Billy maturing and finding a home with their own family. BUT the reason I chose the path she took was because she’s just a kid, fresh from high school, had no idea what she was gonna do with no money other than visit her best friend. I think she knew she didn’t want it and couldn’t stand the guy who put her in this position, so she ran.
