| 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: I was kinda upset about this one bc I had to rewrite it so now it's just not as good as the first one.

It's been years since he got out of blue lock. Years since he's been out of wildcard. Years out from that hellish torture.

So why does he keep still having nightmares about it?

Kunigami gasped awake, his hand reaching out to grasp his now racing heart, trying to desperately calm it down.

He could feel you stir awake from beside him, slowly sitting up, "Another nightmare Ren?"

"Yeah.. just go back to sleep. I'll be okay in a few minutes." He reassures you, faking a gentle smile.

You shook your head, half conscious now and intertwined your hand with his free one, laying your head on his shoulder to rub circles on his hand to reassure him that you're with him.

He leaned onto you as you began to hum, recognizing it as his childhood lullaby, he could feel his heartbeat steadies alongside his breathing.

Kunigami sneaks a glance at you, eyes closed from exhaustion yet here you are staying up with him, humming his favourite tune when you could use that extra sleep for yourself. All because of his dumb nightmare.

He places a kiss on your forehead, making you stop to look up at him, eyes slowly blinking to make the sleep go away and he chuckles at the adorable scene before him.

"I'm feeling better. Let's go back to sleep hm? You got a long day ahead of you."

You nod slowly, plopping back on your bed, arms wide waiting for your lover to get into your embrace.

Kunigami wraps his arms around your waist, placing his head against your chest and listening to the rhythm of your heart. Tears pricking his eyes, you began rubbing circles behind his back whilst stroking his hair with the other hand.

"Shh, you're safe now Ren. I won't let you go."

And that's when he knew he found the one. The one that would always makes him feel safe and protected. The one that makes it feels like home wherever you go.

You're Kunigami's hero.

And he hope he can be yours too..

"What?!" You yelled out, stopping your tasks in hand, surprising Michael Kaiser. He slowly blinked at you, like you're the crazy one for lashing out at him even though he was the one constantly poking you.

His silence just makes you more annoyed, you attempt to get back into doing your managerial duty but he thinks that is an a-okay signal to keep poking you.

*poke poke*

"I swear if you don't stop poking me and just tell me what you need so you can stop pestering me, I'm gonna tear your limb one by one starting with those pretty fingers of yours~" you explained in a singsong voice, with a smile that didn't reach your eyes made Kaiser even more amused.

He smiled at you innocently, like he didn't just try to poke holes into your body. Putting some distance between you, you resume your attempt to do your manager duties till you feel him getting closer and-

You caught his hand, "Oh. My. God. What. Do. You. Want." Kaiser is slowly driving you nuts, you swear that you're about to make him see whatever God that chose him to be an emperor.

"I'm not going to stop poking you until you give me some attention." He said in this, cooly matter-of-fact tone of voice.

You swear you could hear your blood vessels pop somewhere, "I'm giving you attention now, aren't I?! What more do you need?!"

Kaiser grins, leaning closer to whisper in your ear, "Did I say some? Sorry, I meant that I want all of your attention." He leans back, taking the chance to intertwine his caught hand with yours, "If you agree to go on a date with me, I'll stop poking and bothering you for the rest of the day. Deal?"

You're sure you're going to regret this. Future you is definitely cursing at you right now but at the moment you just wanted him to go away so you agreed to his stupid date.

Kaiser stayed true to his words, for the rest of the day, you managed to do all your duties in time without having the blonde constantly on your tail all the time.

You're starting to miss him.

"What's up with me?! You've been ignoring me for the past 30 minutes!" He complained, "Is work more important than me?!"

You pinched his cheeks in response, clearly finding his whining amusing, which made Reo even more annoyed, "Don't just pinch my cheek and pay attention to me please?"

"I am paying attention to you right now no?"

"What I'm seeing is my partner's hand going towards those papers." You halted your hand, not even realizing the unconscious action till your husband pointed it out.

Sighing, you pull Reo towards you, "C'mere, you can sit on my lap until I'm done working. It'll take just a few more minutes okay?" He hummed, wrapping his arms around you and laying his head on the crook of your neck.

You place a kiss on his temple, "Good boy Reo. I promise I'll be quick and then I'll give you the attention you wanted since you're so fucking needy."

Bothering you was one of the best decisions Reo ever made. Even if it resulted in him cancelling practice because of his inability to even walk the next morning. 10/10, he would do it again.

Do you wanna know what Bachira's last words to you are?

Years of memories, years of love with disagreements here and there but all was resolved before going to bed. Cuddles and apologies exchanged to make up for the heated argument and mean comments that you both never meant.

Not this time. After all, how were you supposed to make up with a dead person?

It was just another silly argument. You never meant for it to escalate this far. You can't even remember what's it about because of how dumb it was.

"I hate you (Y/N)-chan! You're the worst! I wish I had taken that opportunity instead of being stuck in Japan with you!" Meguru fumed, grabbing his keys and jacket.

"Oh yeah?! I didn't tell you to reject them, did I?! Not my fault you were dumb!" You managed to let out before Meguru stormed off, slamming the front door of your apartment.

If you knew that'll be the last time you saw him, would you still be able to utter those words? Or would you chase after him, apologising for whatever you were arguing about and begged him to stay?

Everything feels so unreal. It feels just like yesterday that he was sitting at your table, waiting patiently for you with a cup of your favourite beverage and a hot cocoa for him, greeting you home like you're married and he's your cute househusband.

*"(Y/N)-chan! Welcome home!" He chirps, giving you a peck before taking your work bag from you and placing it on the nearest tabletop.

You pulled him in a hug, inhaling his scent like you hadn't seen each other in weeks. "I missed you, Meguru. How was practice?"*

And that's how you've always had your daily routine. Talking about each other's day while eating dinner together was how you spent your afternoon. How you thought it will always be for years to come.

Now here you are, putting a bouquet of his favourite flower in front of this stupid stone with his name etched on it. No way to amend for the words you said nor the glares you've given, living with the fact that he died on his way home with your favourite food and flowers to apologize even if it wasn't his fault.

"I hate you (Y/N)-chan! You're the worst! I wish I had taken that opportunity instead of being stuck in Japan with you!"

Does he really think so? You wonder if after all these times, he regretted not chasing his dream because of you. Were you some sort of iron weight chaining him down from his full potential to becoming the best dribbler in the world? Should you have let him go instead of being selfish?

You don't know.

That's what made it scarier.

You have the rest of your life to think about it because his words are stuck in your head, a constant reminder that it's your fault he didn't pursue his dreams, that it's because of a silly argument you started that he died.

He deserves so much more... yet you were ungrateful, taking your lover's presence for granted when many others would kill to be in your shoes.

Bachira Meguru was so sweet that it seems to be only right he leaves you haunted by his last words.

Your boyfriend grunts in respond, no signs of budging from his own comfortable position, pulling you impossibly close as he buried his head into the crook of your neck.

You lightly tap his arms, "At least let me go so I can make you breakfast?"

"No"

"Sei," you brush his hair away from his forehead, placing a light kiss on it. "Do you really want to be late and miss breakfast with me?"

• You can get two types of reaction depending on how you break up with him.

• If you break up with him the angry, aggressive way. Ness would get all meek and scared. Opting to just keep quiet as you list all the reason why you're breaking up with him.

• If you choose the calm way, Ness wouldn't even hesitate to beg you to stay. His face immediately turns red, tears staining your pants as he clung to it desperately. Asking you what he did wrong and how he can fix it. Doesn't matter if its in public or private, Ness would sob till his tears turns into blood.

• Either way, you left him with nothing but his heart that had been crushed into dust and his obsession towards you grew.

• You were his light, his saviour, his everything. To say he can't live without you is an understatement. Ness felt his world just crumbled below him.

• Would blow up your phone 24/7, making new accounts, getting new numbers each time you block him.

• "(Y/N) please! I'm sorry for whatever I did wrong! I promise I'll change. Just give me a chance! I'll die without you" was the text you'll wake up to every morning.

• At one point, you just gave up blocking him. Opting to just mute his chat and ignoring his calls but this gave Ness some hope.

• You didn't block him this time so surely this means something right? If he's patient surely you'll warm up to the idea of letting him be yours again right?

• The more you ignore him, the more desperate each attempt of his to get your attention. Abandoning basically everything including football AND Kaiser to stalk you.

• If you do get back with him, whether its to get him to shut up or out of pure pity, Ness would completely be in your control.

• Spoiling you with lavish gifts, taking you out to some fancy dates. He'll even let you sleep with other people so long as you'll never leave him.

• Ness is completely yours to break, to use, to control and manipulate like a stupid puppet. Tell him what to eat, to drink, to wear and he'll comply so long as you let him lay his head on your lap and call him your good boy.

• If you resist him till the very end, chances are his patience are running so very thin.

• Might have to say your goodbyes because once that thin thread of sanity snapped, you'll find yourself waking up to a magenta haired man hovering above you.

Everytime I see Itoshi Sae I just imagined going on dates when its snow season for some reason. Walking around the streets, holding hands with matching outfits while window shopping and just basically us dragging him everywhere. When you stupidly forgot your scarf so he wrapped his own around you, kissing your forehead while he's at it. When you get tired of walking so he just sat you down on one of the park benches and went to get smthing to warm you up. Or when you're on a date in a coffee shop and witnessing the first fall of snow together, telling him that couples who watched the first snowfall tend to last longer than everyone and he just said its all nonsense but you caught a small smile appearing on his lips as he watch them with you.

There's a mention of girl but other than that's it's completely gender neutral. It's just cuz I don't know what to use to replace it so feel free to use other terms you like.

It's a lengthy oneshot and honestly it kinda sucks. more dialogue than actions too.

"Waa it's snowing really heavily today!" You exclaimed, observing the falling snowflakes like someone who had never seen snow before.

"What's so impressive about the snow that your jaw looks like it'll fall off any second?" Sae sips his coffee, not looking up at you from his laptop.

You turned to him, eyebrow slightly furrowed. "You just don't get it. It means christmas is around the corner! Although it does get a little too cold sometimes..." Shivers ran up your spine as soon as the words left your lips.

Sae abruptly stood up, holding his hand out for you. Albeit a bit confused, you let your lover drag you towards the couch, sitting you down before disappearing to your shared bedroom.

"What are you doing?" Sae didn't respond, he came out with the blanket you had folded just this morning. "Hey! I just folded that-"

"You said it's cold right? Let's cuddle on the couch." Instead of him, you're the one who got all embarrassed. His straightforwardness is one of the things you love about him but you swear its going to kill you one day.

Concerned by your slightly red face, he dropped the blanket he was holding beside you and puts his hand on your forehead. "Did you already get a fever? Your face is quite red. Maybe I should turn up the heater."

"No! I'm fine! Just... embarrassed." You tried to avoid his confused gaze, feeling his eyes linger on your face trying to decipher the reason.

"Why are you embarrassed? Nothing is embarrassing about being cold."

His question just made you even more flustered, "You shouldn't be so nice to me! What if I fell harder for you, stupid Sae."

"It's only natural that I'll be nice since we're a couple. Isn't that something to be happy for?"

"Yeah, but sometimes you'll have to go abroad for nationals. I won't be able to see you for months and I'll miss you too much that I won't wanna let you go."

"You're not making any sense since I take you with me on every single trip." He sighed and slightly shook his head from your antics, "I'm not going to any nationals soon remember? I took the year off so we can prepare for our wedding."

Hearing that puts a little smile on your face that didn't go unnoticed. Your fiancé tilts his head, giving you a short kiss before making his way to the kitchen.

"Ah! Sae, come back! It's too cold."

"I'm making you something warm to drink. Be a good girl and wait for me."

December 24th, 20xx

"Did you get everything we needed for tonight's dinner?" Sae's voice came from your phone.

"Mhm! Did you got the cake that I said I wanted that day?"

"It's right here beside me. I don't see why you specifically want this cake."

"Cause I heard it was so good that you had to wait a whole day in line just to even get a slice! I wanted to try it once in my life y'know?"

"Sae?"

"People had to wait in line a whole day for this? The owner just gave me the whole cake when I asked for it. Said its for my lovely fiancé to enjoy."

You walked back into your shared apartment, holding Sae's favorite takeout when the both of you were too lazy to cook. Setting it aside on the kitchen counter, you proceeded with your normal afterwork routine.

You put on his clothes, his scent surprisingly still lingering although noticeably lesser the more you wear it. Rolling into your bed, you wrapped yourself with the blanket you guys share every night. It smells just like him, in a way it feels strangely comforting yet it makes your heart ache.

Missing his voice, you unlocked your phone and set it beside your ear so you can hear him perfectly.

"Hello?"

"Sae..."

"(Y/N), I'm gonna be little late. The road is slippery and there's traffic so I'll have to be extra careful. Will you be okay?"

"No, I won't be."

"Let me know if you're missing any other ingredients. I'll pick it up on the way home. I'm sorry I couldn't get home faster to cook dinner with you."

"You idiot. You don't have to apologize. I told you I'll take care of it."

"(Y/N), I'm bad at expressing my feelings but somehow it feels right to say this now. I hope we can spend Christmas together for the rest of our lives. New years, valentine's day, white day. I promise we'll spend it all together."

Before you even notice, tears were already streaming down your face. Slightly dampening the blanket you're holding close to your body.
