Understanding that an eating disorder is a person’s coping mechanism helps those around the person to realise how frightening and difficult it is for the person to let it go as they recover. It is therefore important that family and friends have realistic expectations of the pace of progress recovery takes.
For the person with an eating disorder, controlling food and the body is their way of relieving distress and achieving some degree of control over their life. Their world feels like an unsafe place, and, for many complex reasons, an eating disorder provides them with a sense of safety.

The dizzy rapture of starving.The power of needing nothing.I've come to realize that hunger feels more like home than probably everything I ever had and ever will.I know that is my way of coping childhood traumas. I’m destroying myself so others can’t,it’s the worst kind of control but it’s the only form I learned.
But I know that if stay the way I am it's gonna kills me.It's the only thing I want more than anything.I just want to be thin.If it takes dying to get there, so be it.

♡ Tips for hunger ♡
εїз Feelings of hunger often come in waves and they generally don’t last more than 15 or 20 minutes.Typically if you wait it out it passes.
εїз I like sleep a lot although it was a good number of fasts before I could easily sleep.
εїз Exercise can help, sometimes a lot. Some squats, push-ups or even up and down some stairs.
εїз Brushing your teeth and tongue can suppress appetite without food. The minty taste of toothpaste discourages most people from eating.
εїз Drink a full glass of water before you eat and then sip a full glass between bites, you'll get full much faster. Remember it takes 20 minutes for the brain to realize the stomach is full.
εїз Eat denser food because it feels like more. Light and fluffy foods compact in your digestive tract and you will feel hungry soon after.
εїз Never eat anything bigger than about a cup, your stomach will expand and you'll get hungry more.
εїз An orange or grapefruit a day helps appetite away.Research suggests that     low-calorie plant foods that are rich in soluble fiber,like oranges and grapefruit,help us feel fuller faster and keep blood sugars steady.This can translate into better appetite control.      
εїз Carbonated water can be a GREAT help when you are feeling hungry during a fast. Any plain carbonated water or 0 calorie sweetened carbonated waters are safe to drink while fasting carbonated water can make you feel more full than regular water because it contains carbon dioxide! Carbon dioxide fills up your tummy super fast and can really help if you are having intense food cravings!
εїз Chewing gum is a LAST RESORT! If you really need the FEEL of eating something, sugar free gum would be your best option without breaking your fast. The reason I say this should be a last resort is because although it may satisfy your hunger temporarily, gum can actually make you feel MORE hungry later on in your fast. This is because you are giving your body the sensation of chewing, so your body thinks you are going to be getting food soon.

Three days with no food, the hungers no longer. My body is weak but my willpowers stronger.
I need to stay active, can't ever sit still but I'm feeling so tired, my health's going downhil
Another skipped meal, but it's still not quite right. The pain and the tears keep me up through the night.
Will I ever get better? Can I be free from my mind? The hope I once had, I can no longer find.

It can feel very sad and discouraging when we gain weight... Especially when we work so hard..so much suffer to lose weight and shed pounds. Worrying so much about gaining weight,can make us feel ugly and worthless. It makes us feel like failures.
