Horses and Husbands
Pairing: Rip Wheeler x Reader
Word Count: 2.8k
Warnings: Smut, baby making...seriously
Summary: Alone time with Rip is few and far between these days...When your daughter stays with her Uncle Kayce for the night, you finally get alone time with your husband.
A/n: This was requested by @elenavampire21 ! Thank you for your request, I had a blast making it a reality for you! And I also want to thank @momentaryescape for helping me with this!
The familiar sound of Rip groaning woke you from your sleep as your 4 year old daughter, Hallie, climbed on top of him. He picked her up and placed her between the two of you with a tired chuckle. It was early in the morning, but this was the normal routine between your little family. Hallie would wake up before either of you and always came into your shared room to wake you both up.Â
âThe munchkin is up.â Rip chuckled in his gruff morning voice.Â
âThen we are to.â You said with a tired laugh as you sat up in bed.
Hallie was looking at you with those big hazel eyes that looked exactly like Ripâs. You smiled softly and picked her up to get out of bed, placing her on your hip as you stood up. Rip got up soon after and started getting ready for his work day, meeting you in the kitchen as you started making your daughter breakfast.Â
âWhere is daddy going?â Hallie asked as she ran up to you.Â
âDaddy is going to work, munchkin. I gotta go help with the new horsesâ Rip told Hallie as he crouched down to get level with her, gently poking her nose with his finger.
âCan I go with you, Daddy?â She looked up at Rip, big eyes pleading with him.
âWe can go see Daddy and the horses after you eat your breakfast, Sweetheart.â You responded after Rip looked at you for an answer.
Rip kissed Hallieâs forehead before sending her to the table. He fully stood up and made his way over to you, running his hands down your arms. He leaned down and left a kiss to your lips before he grabbed his cowboy hat and walked out the door to go to work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You arrived with Hallie at the stables a little while later. Rip was standing outside of the round pen watching Ryan work with a horse. Hallie let go of your hand and ran to her dad, climbing up on the round pen to get a better look at the horse. You smiled softly when Rip put his hand on her back to keep her steady while he pointed at Ryan and the horse.
As you watched Hallie giggling to Rip you felt someone come up next to you. You looked over and saw Lloyd standing next to you. He watched Rip and Hallie, a small smile peaking through his signature mustache. Lloyd was like a grandpa to Hallie, a father figure to you and Rip.Â
âHe sure is a good dad.â Lloyd told you, glancing over at you for a second.
âHe really is.â You replied, smiling at Lloyd.
âSo, when are you two giving me another grandkid?â He asked, fully turning to face you.Â
You let out a soft laugh at his question.
 âHopefully soon. Itâs been so busy around here so we havenât gotten much alone time. But weâve been trying when we can.â You said to him, looking over at Rip who was talking happily with your daughter.Â
Lloyd gave you a smile and a gentle pat on the shoulder before Hallie came running over to you.Â
âMama! Can we ride the horsies?â Hallie asked, pulling on your pant leg.Â
âOf course we can, Sweetie! Come on, letâs go get a horse.â You smiled down at your daughter, taking her small hand in yours to lead her to the stables.
Once you got to the stables, you saddled up your horse Blaze. He was good with kids and would be a great fit for Hallie. You led Blaze out of the stables with Hallie on your hip, leading Blaze to the other round pen.Â
You lifted Hallie up and gently placed her on Blaze, making sure to keep your hand on her back to steady her. Hallie giggled when you made a clicking sound with your tongue to get Blaze to start walking.Â
Rip watched carefully while Blaze walked around the round pen with Hallie on his back. He knew Hallie wouldnât get hurt, but he was still protective of both of his girls. His eyes stayed glued to you, smiling to himself while he watched you smile and talk to your daughter.
Kayce, your brother, came up beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Tate was in the other round pen with Ryan, helping with the horse. Kayce noticed Ripâs gaze on you.
âYou know, Hallie can always stay the night with Monica and I. Tate would love it. Plus it would give you a little alone time with Y/n.â Kayce suggested, nudging Ripâs shoulder with his own.
âAnd how do you know weâve been trying to get alone time?â Rip questioned, looking over at Kayce.
âYou seem to forget that your wife is my sister. She tells Beth and I nearly everything.â Kayce said with a raised eyebrow.
Rip shook his head and laughed. Kayce did have a point. You shared a lot with your siblings.Â
âIâll talk to Y/n and make sure sheâs okay with Hallie staying the night with you guys. Thanks, Kayce.â Rip said, still chuckling softly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you finished walking around the round pen with Hallie and Blaze, you led Blaze to the stables again to get him back in his area. You smiled when you saw Rip waiting for you guys. Hallie ran to him, her little laugh ringing through the stables as Rip lifted her up.Â
âHey, munchkin!â Rip smiled as he held Hallie in his arms.Â
You walked up to your husband, letting out a soft laugh when he kissed you. Hallie was giggling like crazy, her cheek pressed against Ripâs shoulder.Â
âWhy donât we let Kayce and Monica take Hallie tonight? Tate wants to hang out with his favorite cousin.â Rip suggested to you, giving a look that told you his true intentions.Â
âDo you want to stay with Uncle Kayce and Aunt Monica tonight, Sweetheart? You always have so much fun with Tate.â You asked your daughter, letting out a chuckle when she nodded happily.
You took Hallie back up to the cabin to gather a few of her things before Kayce came up to get her. Rip met you there, keeping Hallie entertained while you gathered her things.Â
When Kayce came with Tate to pick her up, you and Rip each gave her a kiss on the forehead.Â
âThank you, Kayce. You didnât have to watch her tonight.â You said to your brother, giving him a hug.
âItâs not a problem at all, Y/n. You and Rip need some time together. And Tate wanted to see his cousin.â Kayce replied, smiling at you.
Rip handed Kayce Hallieâs little backpack of her things, smiling down at the excited 4 year old next to him. Kayce took Hallieâs hand in one of his hands and Tateâs hand in the other.Â
âCome on, kiddos!â Kayce said to the two happy children, leading them out of the cabin and to the truck.Â
You stood in the doorway of the cabin, smiling as you watched the three of them drive off. You were thankful for your brother. He was ensuring that you got your much needed alone time with your husband.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rip came up behind you as you closed the cabin door, gently sliding his hands down your sides. You turned in his arms with a smile, reaching up to rest your arms over his shoulders. He leaned down and kissed you as he squeezed your hips.Â
âLetâs go make us a baby, Mister.â You said, giggling a little when he kissed the corners of your mouth.
âYou know I canât say no to that, Baby.â Rip responded in that gruff voice you loved so much, leaning down to kiss you again.
You melted like putty in his arms, letting him deepen the kiss until his tongue was exploring your mouth. Ripâs hands slid from your hips to your thighs so he could hoist you up. He smirked against your lips when you locked your legs together around his waist.Â
You didnât even realize he had started carrying you towards the bedroom. All you were focused on was the feeling of his lips against yours. He squeezed the underside of your thighs as he carried you, reveling in the way you moaned softly into his mouth. He loved the way you reacted to even the simplest of touches.Â
Rip laid you down on the bed and hovered above you. You looked up at him as he took his jacket off before he leaned down and began kissing your neck. You tilted your head to the side to give him better access, making him smirk against your skin.
He adored the small gasp you let out as he slid his hands under your shirt. No matter how many times the two of you had done this, you still reacted to his touch in ways you never knew were possible. He loved that he could make you and your body react to him in all the right ways.
Rip kept his eyes locked with you as he slowly pulled your shirt off of your body. He leaned down again and pressed wet kisses to your collarbone. He kissed down your body, removing your clothes as he went along.
Soon, you were almost completely bare under him. The only thing keeping you from being fully naked was your lace panties. An obvious wet spot covered the thin piece of fabric, which made Rip lick his lips.
âLook at you, Darlinâ. So pretty for me.â He said in his gruff voice, his fingers running feather light over your thighs.
His touch made you shiver, a small whimper leaving your lips. You couldnât help it, your body was so reactive to him. He always made you feel like you were on cloud nine.
Ripâs fingers inched closer to your panties until his thumb was right over your clothed clit. He applied just a little pressure, reveling in the moan he pulled from your lips. In one swift motion, he pulled your panties off your legs. You were now completely bare under him.
His eyes immediately went to your soaked folds, licking his lips at the site. He ducked down and made himself comfortable between your thighs. He looked up at you right as his lips connected with your clit.Â
You threw your head back with a loud moan as he began sucking, his skilled tongue making circles around your throbbing clit. Your hands went to his hair, holding his head in place as his tongue lapped through your folds.Â
Your fingers tugging at Ripâs hair caused him to moan against your clit, sending vibrations straight to your core. A loud gasp left your lips when he pushed a finger into you. His mouth continued to circle around your clit while he added a second finger and thrusted them in and out slowly.Â
That familiar heat started pooling in your lower stomach, your moans getting louder. Rip knew you were close so he didnât stop. He picked up the pace of his fingers, making a âcome hitherâ motion that had you seeing stars.
âCome on, Baby. Cum for me. Let me hear you.â Rip said to you, immediately going back to your clit afterwards.
You came on command, loudly moaning his name. Rip smiled when he felt your walls fluttering around his fingers. He kept thrusting his fingers into you, getting you through your high. He pulled his fingers out of you when you came down, licking your juices off of his hand. He loved the taste of you, it was like a drug he could never get enough of.
âSo pretty for me, Baby. My pretty girl.â He praised you, loving the soft moan that came out of your mouth at his words.
âPlease, RipâŚâ You whined, watching him take off the rest of his clothes. Your eyes were locked on his member as he stroked himself a little.Â
âShh shh. Youâre okay, Darlinâ. Iâm gonna give you what you need.â Rip cooed, his gruff voice sending shivers down your spine.
Rip moved up your body, leaving wet kisses against your skin. He propped himself up with his hands on either side of your head, caging you in as he looked down at you. You reached up to wrap your arms around his shoulders and pulled him down to kiss you.Â
Rip lined himself up with your dripping entrance while he kissed you. He slowly pushed into you, his size stretching you open. You moaned into his mouth, loving the slight burn his size gave you.Â
He stayed still for a moment, letting you get used to him. No matter how many times the two of you had been intimate, you still had to get used to his size. He left gentle kisses on your neck while he waited patiently for you to adjust.Â
When you were ready, he slowly pulled out almost all the way. Before you could whine in protest, he thrusted back into you with more force. You moaned in surprise, your eyes fluttering closed as he fucked into you with a slower pace.
âThere you go, Sweetheart. This what you wanted?â Rip asked softly in your ear, nipping and sucking at your neck.
âYes, RipâŚOh fuck!â You whined, crying out in pleasure when his tip hit your g-spot.
Your cry of pleasure only fueled him further. He picked up his pace, hitting your g-spot with every damn thrust. Your brain went fuzzy as you wrapped your legs loosely around his waist to pull him impossibly closer.Â
Rip decided to change the position and lifted you so your chest was pressed against his. You both moaned in unison, his cock nestled so deep inside of you. He began lifting you up, guiding you to ride him. You started bouncing on him, letting him guide your pace as he squeezed your hips.
âLook at you, Baby. Such a good girl for me. Want me to give you a baby? Thatâs what you want, isnât it? To be so full of me that itâll give us another baby?â Rip spoke against your ear, massaging your hips as he thrusted up into you.
You moaned loudly, clenching down around his cock involuntarily. Rip hissed from the feeling, loving the way you tightened around him. He was so close to release, and he knew you were as well.
âFuck, youâre so tight, Darlinâ.â He groaned, his hands squeezing your hips tightly.
âIâm so close, Rip!â You cried out, rolling your hips when you couldnât ride him anymore.
Rip took over again, thrusting up into you at a pace that, once again, had you seeing stars. He moaned when he looked down and watched his cock slide in and out of your perfect heat. He reached between your legs and began rubbing circles on your clit.
âCum for me, Sweetheart. Let me feel you.â He whispered in your ear, applying more pressure to your clit as his thumb continued rubbing circles.
The pressure he applied was more than enough to send you over the edge. You cried out his name, throwing your head back while your thighs began to tremble. Strings of moans left your lips, your body going limp in his arms as your walls fluttered around him.
Rip thrusted up into you a few more times, fucking you through your intense release. With one more thrust, he held you down on top of him and spilled his release inside of you with a groan of pleasure. He held you there for a moment, letting you calm down.
âThatâs a good girl. You did so good for me, Darlinâ.â He cooed in your ear, rubbing your back in a soothing motion.
You leaned forward and nuzzled your face into his neck, your breathing heavy. A soft whine left your lips as he gently lifted you off of him. He laid you down next to him, a shit eating grin on his face when he saw his release begin to drip out of you.
Rip used his fingers to gently push it back inside of you, softly shushing you when you whined and squirmed from the overstimulation. He got up to get a washcloth and brought the damp cloth back to clean you up.
When he was done cleaning the both of you up, he laid down next to you. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close. You let out a content sigh and smiled when you felt his hand splayed across your stomach.
âItâll stick this time. I just know it.â You said with a tired smile, turning over in his arms to look at him.
âWell I hope it does, Sweetheart. I canât wait to see you carrying our baby again.â Rip told you, his hand gently rubbing circles on your stomach.
âI love you, Honey.â You whispered with a small giggle.
âI love you too, Baby.â Rip whispered back, pulling you even closer.Â
It didnât take long for you to fall asleep in his arms. He just had his hand on your stomach, rubbing soothing circles on your skin until he fell asleep with you.Â
This time would stick. You would get another baby. You both just knew it.Â
Dad Bob Floyd
a/n- HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I know its almost over, but college and work are a pain in the ass...hopefully I am able to post more this year, but I don't want to make any promises.
Anyway me and my amazing friend @rewrittenreality here texting like a month ago about if the tgm dagger squad boys became dads, this is the result of that. I hope y'all enjoy.
Bob was over the moon when he found out you found out you were pregnant. He would surprise you with flowers and a gift for your baby. When he found out that you would be having a girl we went into full girl-dad mode. He found matching outfits for the three of you to all match with once the baby was born.Â
The day your baby was born Bob couldn't stop smiling. The first time he held her, he looked like his life was complete. You walked in more times than you can count to him just staring at your daughter with all the love he had.
As she got older he learned how to do her hair in various styles, and would dress her so they could twin. When her favorite movie was the little mermaid he started calling her âFlounderâ and it stuck. The dagger squad started calling her that too, leading to her being the first baby dagger squad member to get a callsign.Â
On her first day of school Bob woke up extra early to make her her favorite breakfast, and get her a small bouquet. And when it was time to drop her off you could swear that Bob cried more than her.Â
He would talk to your belly just like he did in your first pregnancy, which you swear is why she is a daddy's girls. But you didnât mind, you loved your husband any your daughter more than anything else.
When you found out you were pregnant, and that it was another girl, you couldn't wait for Bob to find out. He was on deployment when you learned of the second Floyd baby. When he got home he looked confused at your daughter's shirt. It read âbig sisterâ. When it clicked he looked back and forth between her shirt and you before pulling you into a tight hug. When you told him it was another little girl he told you he was excited to be a girl dad again. So the matching outfits were updated to include another baby. And just like before, when your younger daughterâs favorite movie was Zootopia, he started calling her âBunnyâ.
Bob was meant to be a girl dad. He made sure to raise them with all the love possible. He told you everyday that you were the best thing to happen to him, and that you made him the happiest man in the world.
Helpless
Jay Halstead X Wife!Reader
Warnings: None? Similar to how Hailey was when Jay left
Word Count: 741
You were praying the pain in your heart would stop. That all the hurt you had been through was just a horrible nightmare. But it wasnât. It was your reality, and you couldnât just leave it. Piece by piece you could feel yourself shutting down, your walls building high. And for the first Jay wasnât there to put you back together.
The case you were working on kept getting worse and worse. Following lead after lead, looking into case after case trying to see if there was anything that could get you any closer to solving and closing the case. This was the first case after Jay left, and they could tell you needed him.
 Hailey was the first to realize you were struggling. Offering you someone to talk to, but you didn't want to put anymore onto her. Torres was next, not ging you a choice but to talk. He got you a coffee when you were out chasing leads, and you broke down when he asked if you were okay. He told you that it was okay and he was there if you needed him. Kevin and Kim followed soon after that, then Adam. All trying to offer support. Hank and Trudy tried convincing you to sit this one out, but you couldn't. This was your job, and you needed to do it. You also needed the distraction.
But no matter how hard you tried the loneliness crept in whenever you were alone. His absence in your bed, the one you shared. The smell of his cologne fading from your apartment. Your ring only a reminder that he wasn't there with you. Everything was different without him. Every routine changed. It was like you were back before you and Jay got together. Except this time he was still yours. You hoped at least.
You hadnât heard from him since he left. No phone call, or letter. It was radio silence. You knew contact would be scarce, but this felt like overkill. You missed your husband but there was nothing you could do to bring him back.
~
After weeks Intelligence was able to solve the case. You had the next few days off. You stayed in bed sobbing. Finally able to fall apart. You were allowed to be upset, but it felt like you should be happy. Happy Jay was doing something good. But you hated it. Why didnât he talk to you? Tell you what he was going through? That he was going back into the military? He felt hurt when Mouse reenlisted, why would he keep that from you? You would have supported him, you just wanted him to tell you what he was going through.
After spending all day in bed crying your throat was raw from the sobs. You made your easy to the kitchen, grabbing whiskey. And while it wouldn't soothe the pain in your throat, it would help distract you, even for a short time. It burned going down, but the burn preoccupied your brain for a minute.
You didnât have a lot, just enough for a light buzz. Deciding that you needed to try calling Jay you grabbed your phone. You knew he wouldn't pick up the phone, and that your buzz was pushing you to do this. But you did it anyway.
The phone rang until you got his voicemail.
âHey it's Jay, I missed your call but leave a message and Iâll call you backâ
Your voice cracked as you began to speak. âHey, JayâŚIt's me. I miss you. I know you are probably busy, but I wish I could hear your voice.â your voice cracked more as you spoke. Tears started falling as you continued. âIâm not doing great with you gone. I keep expecting to wake up and you be next to me in bed. That when I walk upstairs at the station you will be talking to the team from behind your desk. But every day I wake up and that doesn't happen.â You whipped the tears that were falling from your eyes.
âIt shouldn't be this hard. I miss you and my world has gone dark without your light. I wish you would come home. But I know thatâs not fair to ask, or say. But I need you. I love you, Jay. I wish you would talk to me. Goodbye.â You ended the voicemail and started to sob. Hoping he would come back to you soon.
Stargazing
Kayce Dutton x Reader
Warning: Slight mentions of violence
Word Count: 204
âMaybe we should change our names and run away.â Your head was on his chest looking up at him. The two of you had filled the bed of his truck with pillows and blankets so you could stargaze comfortably in the fields on the ranch.
âI wish it were that simple, I really do.â He met your gaze. Kayce knew that his family did many not-so-legal things and that because you lived on the ranch with him, you had witnessed some of that first-hand. And while it wasn't your first time seeing violence, he hated that being with him put you in harm's way, and in a place where you saw the violence more often than you would if you weren't together.Â
âMaybe one day things will be different.â
âI hope so darling.â He leaned forward kissing your forehead before looking back up at the stars. That's how it always went. Whenever you would watch the stars you and Kayce would talk about if life was different. But at the end of it, you both knew leaving would be hard. Kayce would fight for it if you asked, but you would always tell him you were happy as long as you were with him.
Dirty Little Secret
Pete "Maverick" Mitchell x Reader
Warnings: Undetermined age gap, Brief mention of suspected cheating
Word Count: 869
âLet me know what I've done wrong. I should have known this all along, weâd do around a time or two just for you to say âI wasted my time with youâ. So tell me, Pete. Tell me all that you've thrown away.â You felt stupid. Why would Pete settle down with you? You were younger than him, and he was known for flings. Penny told you that it seemed different this time, that someone had finally done it. Someone got Pete Mitchell to settle down. You wished that was true, but Penny didn't know you were the one to get him to settle. Nobody knew.
You were at the bar when you heard a girl flirting with him. Saying how she thought aviators were the hottest people in the military, and asked if she could âtake him for a test rideâ. He laughed before leaning in whispering something in her ear. You turned away when you saw him lean in, making your way out of the bar. Pete followed as soon as he saw you walk out of the hard deck. Running after you towards the beach.
âY/Nâ Pete called after you. He could tell you heard him but chose to ignore him.
âWhat are you talking about? You didnât do anything. And what the hell makes you think I wasted my time with you?â
âI FUCKING SAW YOU PETE!â You turned around, blood boiling. âThat girl was flirting with you and you fucking leaned in and fucking flirted with her. I was okay not telling everyone so we could enjoy the privacy for a while, but I'm not going to stick around if you are going to flirt with girls at the bar. I'm not a fucking dirty little secret, and I'm not going to be treated like one. If you want something else than what we had, someone else, just tell me because I canât do this if you want that.â He took a step towards you, and you take two back.
âFlirting?â He was confused, who was he flirting with?
âYES! AT THE BAR WHEN I WAS TALKING TO PHOENIX!â Thatâs when it clicked.Â
âI wasnât flirting with her, she was flirting with me.â He didnât even think how it might look.
âOh, that makes it all better right? âIt was her not meâ. You leaned in and whispered in her fucking ear.â Tears started to pool in your eyes.
âI was telling her I had a girlfriend, and that I wasn't interested.â Peteâs face was drained of color, did you think he would cheat on you? âY/nâŚI promise I would never cheat on you. And I promise you aren't a dirty secret. I thought it would be easier on you if we kept it private. So nobody could say things about us, the age gap. We were the only ones that needed to know.â He stepped closer so you were within his reach. âWhen we live such fragile lives it's the best way we survive.â
âI'm so sorry.â You sobbed out, wrapping your arms around him, pulling him close.
He wraps his arms tightly around you. âShh. It's okay honey. I wish you told me how you felt. And if you want we can tell everyone. Iâm more than happy to tell the world that you're mine.â You could hear the smile on his face when he spoke.
You looked up a him âI love you, Pete.â
âI love you too y/n.â He pressed his lips to yours. âAnd I think everyone might already know.â He said as he pulled away.
âWhat?â Your eyes went wide.
âDarling you are the only person who calls me Pete, you always linger behind the others so you can walk with me, you glance at me anytime you get a chance. And you tend to look my way when Hangman flirts with you.â He laughed when he saw the look on your face.
âOhâŚâ You didn't think he realized those things.
 âAnd Bradley might have told me about a bet the squad has.â Your eyes went wide. âAre we surprised?âYou both stare at each other before laughing.Â
âNot in the slightest.â Knowing they had suspected something but didnt push or make jokes was a relief.
âIâm serious though. I want to tell everyone you're mine.â He had wanted to tell everyone a while ago but didnt know if you wanted people to know. He knew with the age gap that not everyone will be as comfortable as the two of you were with everything, and he didnt want you to be treated any sort of way because of it.
âI want everyone to know I'm yours Pete. I donât care what anyone says,youâre mine and thats all I care about.â Pete Mitchell was your person. You knew he would never do anything to hurt you but you couldnât help but feel the anxiety whenever another girl flirted with him.
 He takes a step back. âWhy dont we head back to the bar and tell them. See who we need to kill for the bet?â
âMmm, I love that idea.â You felt giddy knowing that after tonight you wouldn't have to hide anymore.Â
Everything I Didn't Say
Pheonix x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of past relationship
Word Count: 1.4k
You were working for Penny when you saw her from across the bar. Natasha âPheonixâ Trace. Moving to North Island to work for your aunt you knew you would see a plethora of people in the Navy. But the last person you had expected to see was Her.
She had come over to the bar to order more beers for the group she was with when she finally saw you. She smiled wide asking how long you were in town, answering that you had just moved there. Penny called you away, telling you to take the rest of the night off, saying she had enough hands for you to have fun.
You and Natasha had walked around talking for a while before eventually sitting on the beach. âDo you remember the night we almost got arrested? When we drove right past that no trespassing sign to watch the planes take off, man I thought your dad was gonna kill me.â She recalled one of your favorite nights from that summer.Â
âThat was the summer after senior year, you were scared my scholarship would be pulled if they arrested us, and I was afraid you wouldnât be allowed into the Navy.â You look to your right looking at her as she watches the water. The smile on her face is one you shared. Memories of when neither of you had any worries when you were together.Â
~~~~~~~~~~~
âYou saved all the letters?â She laughed as she flipped through the box holding items from your time in college.
âOf course I did! They were my favorite thing.â You couldn't help but blush, remembering how excited you got when you saw the letters. Your roommates used to tell you how they wished they had someone who wrote to them. It stung knowing that to Nat you were just friendâs now. There were times you thought it could be something more, go back to when you told her you liked her and she kissed you. But in the end, it never came.
âWhatâs this?â She questioned pulling out a journal. The phrase âEverything I Didnât Sayâ written across the cover in your handwriting.
âDon't open that.â You said a little too fast. She arched her brow, a questioning look on her face. You knew she wouldn't invade your privacy, but even her holding the notebook brings waves of anxiety flooding your body. âIt's uh⌠Things that were better left unsaid. Things I wanted to say but in the end, never got shared.âÂ
âI get it. Trust me, I have a fair share of things I've wanted to share but never said to the person they were meant for. It's safer that way I guess.â Her emotion is unreadable. She put the journal back before finding the pictures you had from when the two of you were in High School.
~~~~~~~~~~~
When Natasha told you she was going on a mission and might not come back you broke. You had just gotten her back, and now, you might lose her again. This time you wouldnât be able to stumble into her at a bar. She had 3 days before her mission when she told you.
That night when you got home you sat down at your desk grabbing a pen and paper. Suddenly it felt like you were in college all over again, but this time instead of writing what you felt in a notebook nobody would see, you were writing to the person you cared about the most.
Natasha,
I know it's not fair that Iâm telling you this now. But I can't pretend I don't want to tell you. I never stopped loving you. When we ended it a part of me broke. I've spent years trying to fix it. And I did, the night I saw you at the Hard Deck. That was the first time in years I felt whole again. And these last few weeks have been some of the best of my life. Sometimes I think of what could have been if we had stayed together.Â
When you would write me letters I hoped that you would say what Iâm saying now. That we were too young to know we had everything. And that what we had is something some people spent their whole lives looking for. I tried telling you a few times. Like when I surprised you when you graduated from the naval academy, but I couldnât get you alone. And when I finally did I didnât have the guts to say it. Then again when you did the same for my graduation.
 When the letters stopped I thought maybe you had found someone. I tried moving on, but no matter who it was, or how amazing everyone said they were, I never found someone who made me happy like you did. Maybe it was because in the end, I didn't want someone like you. I wanted the real thing.
With all of the mistakes I've made not telling you how I felt. And all the letters that I've saved, this is everything I didnât say.
I know you will make it back. Give them hell Natasha.Â
Always,
y/n
P.S. Don't be mad at Bob for being the one to give you this, I knew I probably wouldn't see you before you leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Natasha read and reread the letter over and over again after the mission. She felt a feeling she hadnât felt in a long time when she saw you. She hadnât met anyone new when she had stopped writing the letters. She stopped because she thought that you had and hadnât stopped her because you knew she didnât have anyone else to write. Natasha thought back to the night she suggested the breakup. It wasn't that she didnât love you. It was that she didnât want to hold you back from your dreams. Everything you felt is what Natasha had been trying to pretend she wasn't feeling for years.
As soon as she was back on the ground she showered and changed as fast as possible. She tried calling you but got your voicemail instead. Deciding to try and find you another way she headed to your house only for you to not be there. She was starting to give up hope when she got a call from Bob telling her you were at the Hard deck.
Stepping into the bar she instantly saw you pouring drinks for the people in front of you. Waiting for you to be free she walks up saying your name.
âY/n.â You stopped in your tracks. It was the moment of truth. You were about to find out if you just lost not only your friend but the love of your life. Turning you face her. Relived when you see her smiling back at you. âAre you able to take a break?â She asks. Your shift was almost over, you tell her you have 15 minutes left before asking if she wanted anything. She asks for a water and you get it for her.
The next 15 minutes feel like they are passing as slow as possible, but finally, when you look up they're over. You clock out before walking out from the back and over to her. âIâm good to go when you are.â She pays for her drink before standing up and walking out with you.
It's quiet at first, neither of you knowing what to say until you break the silence. âDid Bob give it to you?â You ask, your voice low.Â
âYeah.â Is all she says at first. âI didnât find someone else you know. I stopped writing because I thought you did and I didn't want to hold you back. When I told you we sound breakup it was because I didn't want to be the reason you didn't succeed. I thought things would go back to how they were when we were just friends. But they never did.â grabbing your hand, stopping you in your tracks she takes a step toward you. âAnd now I want to fix that. I want to make up for the years you lost.â You look at her and smile. She looks at you as if looking for a way to ask if she can kiss you without saying a single word, and you nod.Â
She leans forward placing her lips on yours. That part of you that felt broken before felt brand new with her. You knew that it wasn't going to be how it was before. But you didn't want it before, because last time it had an end.
This time you wanted forever.

I'm Comin' Over
Jay Halstead x Reader
Word Count: 853
Warnings: None
Authors Note: This is the first of a One Chicago mini-series based on the "Im Comin' Over" album
 Jay was in the car before he even picked up the phone. He knew he shouldnât, that after your last goodbye that should have been it. But no matter how many times he told himself not to, he would still drop everything for you. Neither of you could fully let go. He thought âto hell with closureâ as he ran every red light he hit. Closure could wait, you needed him, and he needed you.
ââââââ
You called him after a hard day working at Med with the patients of a massive incident that Intelligence had been called in on. Every time Maggie called out that a patient was coming in you were scared Jay would be the one on the stretcher. Will was the only one who knew that you and Jay had been together, and he knew by the look on your face what you were thinking.Â
âHeâs okay y/n. I just got off the phone with him, and he told me they were safe.â He gave you a nod before walking away to go check on more patients.
For the next god knows how many hours you and the rest of the ED helped patch people. Will kept you updated when he heard from Jay. You didn't know but he was also keeping Jay updated on you as well. You loved your job but on days like this one when there are more patients than you can count you get overwhelmed and never talk to anyone, knowing others have it worse. Jay was the only person who could get you to open up.
ââââââ
When your name flashed on his screen he knew you needed him. This wasn't the first time one of you had called the other, but this was the first time it was for something neither of you could avoid.
âHey y/nâ His voice was soft.
âHi, Jay. Do you uh..do you think you can talk to me? I need to talk to someone.â The sound of your voice reminds Jay of the night he would hold you as you let it all out. The times you would fall asleep and dream of what your future with him would look like before it was over.
âAlways.â You broke down when he said that. âToday was rough, I uhâŚevery time someone came in I was scared that it was you. That something happened and you were injured. But please Jay, I know moving on was getting closer, but I need you.â Your voice shook, trying not to cry.
âTo hell with closure. You need me y/n. We can save it for another time.â You were his world, even if you werenât his anymore.No matter what he would be there for you.
ââââââ
When he knocked on your door you jumped. You had gotten off the phone with him when he was around the corner from your apartment. In the few minutes since the call ended, you had zoned out, replaying the day in your head on repeat. The fear you felt every time a new person was rushed in that it would be Jay.Â
Opening your door you instantly fall into his arms. The mask you had been wearing all day was no longer on. He guided the two of you into the house, locking the door behind you before making his way to your couch. Sitting down next to you he wraps his arms around you pulling you into him. Neither of you talks, the only sound in the room is the soft sob you let out into his chest. Tears marking their presence on his shirt. Pulling you closer, he places a kiss on the top of your head. After a while you look up at him, breaking the silence. âI'm sorry for making you come all the way over here.â He shifts, causing you to sit up. He turns so you are sitting facing each other.
âYou never have to apologize for calling me or needing me. You are the most important thing to me. I will always be there for you. Night or Day. No matter how many times we say it's over I will always say fuck the closure. We keep coming back to each other, the fear you had of me being rushed into the ED is the same fear I get every time a victim matches your description. I donât want to pretend that I don't care about you and that I'm happy without you.â He lifts your chin so you are looking at him. âYou are my everything y/n. If youâre willing, we can try this again. This time we can do it right.â Leaning forward, your lips meeting his. His hand moved to cup your cheek.
When you pull away you smile at him. âI love you, Jay Halstead. And I want nothing more than for you to be mine again. This time through thick and thin. I don't want to lose you again.â
âYou never lost me y/n. I promise to love you till the end.â He says pulling you in for another kiss.

Better Man
Paring: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Word Count: 717
Warnings: A whole lot of fluff
Summary: You come home from a mission and surprise Hangman.
A/n: I just recently watched Top Gun: Maverick and I absolutely loved it. Jake became my favorite character instantly.
Jake Seresin is known for being cocky. Heâs known for being a major hot shot. But, what he isnât known for is being the sweet, caring, and cuddly man that only you get to see. He lets his guard down around you, showing his soft side only when youâre there. The squad took notice of his sudden change with you, and they quite enjoyed it.Â
You came to The Hard Deck to surprise Jake and see everyone. You walked in the door, your stomach filling with nervous butterflies. You hadnât seen everyone in such a long time since you had been on a mission with your squad. Jake didnât even know you were back yet. You smiled when you saw Bob, Rooster, and Phoenix at the pool table. Rooster, your long time friend, ran up to you and gave you one of his bone crushing hugs.
âRoos, canât breathe.â You mumbled, feeling the air leave your lungs.
âSorry sorry. Iâm just really happy to see you back in one piece.â Rooster chuckled, letting you go.
âI always come back in one piece. That's why they call me Hurricane.â You laughed, punching his shoulder.
âWait until Hangman sees that youâre back. Heâs going to be ecstatic!â He beamed at you.
âNot a damn word, Bradshaw. I came here to surprise him, so donât ruin it.â You said, pushing your finger into his chest.Â
Bradley nodded, putting his hands up in defense. He knew you were mostly joking, but he also knew how much Hangman and yourself missed each other. You had been gone for 3 weeks on your mission, rarely having the time to talk to your boyfriend. It was torture for both of you and Rooster knew it. Roos pointed you in the direction of Jake and went over to the others to watch the reunion.Â
Jake was playing darts with Coyote, laughing as Coyote covered his eyes so he couldnât see. He made the bullseye anyway, giving Coyote a sly smirk. Coyote rolled his eyes, his vision landing on you in the process. You put your finger to your lips to tell him to shut up. Coyote gave you a slight nod and turned his attention back to Hangman.Â
âNice shot, Seresin.â You announced, standing behind Jake.
âThanks!â Jake responded, not yet realizing who he heard.
Hangmanâs eyes went wide as he finally processed your voice. He whipped around, finding you standing there with a big smile. He couldnât believe his eyes, he had to be dreaming. You werenât supposed to be back yet. Jake froze for a second, trying to determine if he was just drunk or if it was really you.
âYes, J, itâs really me.â You giggled, as if you could read his mind.Â
âY/n!â Jake exclaimed, running towards you.Â
He practically slammed into you, lifting you up as he came to a stop. You placed your hands on his shoulders to steady yourself, leaning down in his hold to kiss him. Jake didnât let you go as he set you down, his lips still connected with yours. He didnât want to let you go and didnât want him to either. His smile was huge as you pulled away, his green eyes shining like stars.
âI missed you.â You said, taking Jakeâs hand into your own.
âI missed you too, Darlinâ. So much.â Jake whispered as he left a kiss on your forehead.Â
A whistle could be heard from the pool table. You looked over and laughed when you realized it was Phoenix. Jake guided you to the others, his grip in your hand firm but gentle. The squad was kind of shocked when he declined a round of pool. Instead, he opted to stay close to you. They werenât used to this version of Hangman yet.
Phoenix noticed that Jake was more quiet when you were with him. He would hold a conversation, sure. But he seemed more invested in you and what you were doing. Even as you merely stood between his legs while he talked to Bob, his hand never left your hip. Wherever you went, may it be just to get another round of drinks, Jake went with you. Jake Seresin, the man known for his cockiness and independence, was a better man when it came to you.

Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not
Bob Floyd x Reader
Word Count: 763
Warnings: None
We were sittin' up there on your momma's roof
Talkin' 'bout everything under the moon
You had known Robert âBobâ Floyd since you were kids. Your teen years were spent wishing you were with him. He was the one you thought of when people asked about your future.
With the smell of honeysuckle and your perfume
All I could think about was my next move
Bob was mesmerized by you, your laugh was like music to his ears. The smell of your perfume was the sweetest thing he had ever smelled.
Oh, but you were so shy, so was I
Maybe that's why it was so hard to believe
When you smiled and said to me
Bob spent hours planning how he was going to ask you out. He wanted to make it perfect for you. When you said yes he was over the moon. The next night he showed up at your doorstep with flowers for you.
The two of you slowly started going out on proper dates. When Bob asked you if you would be his girlfriend you smiled before saying yes and looking up at him and saying
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?
Are we gonna do this or what?
I think you know I like you a lot
But you're 'bout to miss your shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not?"
Pulling you in your lips met, it felt like you were in heaven. In his eyes, you were an angel. He didnât know what he did to be blessed with you, but he was willing to sacrifice anything for you. To you he was your knight in shining armor, he saved you from the dark and showed you the world. This was the truest form of love either of you had ever felt.
It was the best dang kiss that I ever had
Except for that long one after that
And I knew if I wanted this thing to last
Sooner or later I'd have to ask for your hand
Bob had enlisted in the Navy. The two of you promised that you would stay together through it all. And you did. Through Bootcamp and him being stationed at Lamore, you had always stayed. After years of dating, he asked for your parent's blessing to make you Mrs.Floyd. He already had the ring, and when he got the yes he was already asking his fellow top gun aviators how to propose.
So I took a chance
Bought a wedding band and I got down on one knee
And you smiled and said to me
âI love you y/n. Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?â
With a smile and tears in your eyes, you look at him. âI love you do much, yes Bobbyâ
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?
Are we gonna do this or what?
I think you know I love you a lot
I think we've got a real good shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not?"
The future you had dreamed of was falling into place and you had never been as happy as you were when you were with Bob.
So, we planned it all out for the middle of June
From the wedding cake to the honeymoon
And your momma cried
When you walked down the aisle
You guys held your wedding in California. The place you two had planted your roots, where you knew you wanted to eventually have kids and raise them.
When the preacher man said, "Say I do"
I did and you did too, then I lifted that veil
And saw your pretty smile and I said
Both your families sat watching you stand under the alter. Teary smiles as the âI doâsâ were said. When Bob was told to âKiss the brideâ you looked at him smiling before asking him
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?
Are we gonna do this or what?
Look at all the love that we got
It ain't never gonna stop
Are you gonna kiss me or not?"
Bob smiled pulling your face close your lips crashing together. He was scared this was all a dream. You were too. Neither of you thought it was going to happen, that it was true good to be true.
Yeah baby, I love you a lot
I really think we've got a shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not?
It felt like a fairytale ending, the boy gets the girl, and given a life that once felt so far away.

Not A Love Song
Hangman headcanon based on "Not a Love Song" by ross lynch
Jake would sing to you different love songs but if anyone asked he would never say that's not what he meant. He would deny that's what he was meaning, but it was what he meant. But he had been hurt so many times he was scared of what might happen if he told you how he really felt. Nobody wanted the aviator, they just wanted to sleep with him and leave him. But not you. You wanted him for who he was, you saw the person behind the cockiness, the lovey Texan who would do anything for his girl. It was never a love song before. But now it was, you were the thing stuck in his head that was always there. The thing that made him smile. You were his love song.

Just A Dream
Bucky Barnes x Reader
Word Count: 397
You knew the risks of the military. Bucky promised you he would be safe and that when he got back he would make you his wife. You made Steve promise to watch after him. You knew Bucky was able to handle himself, but the worry was still there. The love of your life was leaving for god knows how long and you would wait for him, no matter how long it took.The day they showed up at your door was the worst day of your life. He died on his mission. The only Howling commando to die in the line of service. You acted fine in public but behind closed doors you shed more tears than you ever thought possible.
The second worse day of your life was when they told you Steve had also died. Your two best friends died in the span of only a few months. The emotions became too much to handle. You didnât know why but you volunteered for one of Howard Starks experiments. You saw what he did for Steve. Who knew, maybe you could find love in the future. The thought seemed impossible still, your heart still longed for Bucky.
When you woke up it felt like no time had passed, but in reality, decades had. You hadnât missed the deaths of loved ones, but you had little to nobody left by the time you volunteered. You didnât know what to expect.
The thing you expected least was to wake up to see Bucky and Steve. The only people you had, the people you had lost in the span of months. At first, you thought your nose was playing tricks on you. That this was all a dream, or hallucination from being frozen. But when you felt Bucky reach out and touch you, you felt the spark you loved. The feeling that you had longed for since he left. It felt impossible, you knew he died, but here he was, right in front of you.
~
You found out the truth, what really happened to Steve and Bucky. The hell Bucky had lived when he was held prisoner by hydra. The torture he was objected to on a regular basis. But somehow he was still the man you loved. The funny and soft person who stole your heart with his charm.
Through hell and back, you found each other again.

Place In Me
Sam Winchester x Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 2.8k
This is part two to Slip Away
Authors Note: Almost two months later part 2 is complete :)
âItâs been a while.â You can hear the nerves in his voice.Â
âYeah, it has.â It was quiet for a minute. âWhat do you need Sam?â
âI need to talk to you. Preferably in personâ His voice weary.Â
âI don't think that's a good idea, Sam.â You mumbled.Â
âPlease y/n. I really need to see you.â
âSam I left almost years ago. How do you plan on seeing me if you have no idea where I am?âÂ
âPennsylvania?â You stayed quiet at his answer. âYou always said that if you got away from California you wanted to go north, but you also loved the east. You wanted a place with seasons, where you can raise a family if you ever had kids. You said Pennsylvania was the only place that would feel right.â You could tell he was smiling. Remember the night under the stars talking about where your future will lead.Â
âI'm surprised you remember.âÂ
âWe were best friends. Hell, I thought maybe we would end up in the same place. I remember wanting to take on everything with youâÂ
âSure you did, Sam. That's why you dropped everything for Jess. blew me off time and time again. Skipped my birthday just because âJess needs meâ when all she was doing was isolating you from me. Convincing you that she was all you needed.â You wanted to be happy, but you could still feel the stab in your chest thinking about why your futures were no longer allied. Â
âY/nâ Sam's tone shifted.Â
âNo Sam, I don't think I can do this.â You managed to gain confidence with your words.Â
âHold on. I never meant you any harm. I got no legs to stand on. I was just dancing in the dark. And I know itâs not fair. I fucked up and I donât deserve you. But now with my eyes wide open, it was heaven in your arms, I see that I miss you. And a lot has happened, these last few years. I see all that I tried not to. You donât have to give me a chance, but 10 minutes is all I ask. Please.â
âFine. 10 minutes.â You felt bad for trying to push him away. But you knew in your heart you wouldnât be able to hate him. You needed him. You felt complete with him. And you felt stupid for letting yourself get attached.Â
~~~
You sat at the coffee shop near your house. Nerves of seeing Sam for the first time in years radiate through your body. Hearing the bell chime on the door your head shoots up. Your eyes land on him.Â
He looks similar to the last time you saw him. His hair was different, longer than the last time you had seen him. His shoulders were broader. But what stood out most was his jacket. It was the same one you had given him for Christmas as freshman. All these years and he still had it.Â
Sam looks around looking for you before seeing you sitting at a table near the windows of the coffee shop. He smiles, a gesture you return. He makes his way to the table stopping next to it was you stand up.Â
âHi.â You look up at him giving another small smile.
âHey y/n. It's been a while.â It felt nice seeing him. You could feel the piece of you that you had lost making its way back in place.
Stepping closer you wrap your arms around him. He freezes for a second before wrapping his arms around your shoulders. You feel him squeeze you. If you could, you would stay frozen in this moment forever. You pull away after a minute before the two of you sit down. You pass him one of the cups.
âI didn't know what you would want but I ordered you the same thing you got back in school.â It wasn't hard to remember what he got. It was slightly different from yours.Â
âThankâs.â He gave you the same warm smile you cherished the memories of. âYou look great.â
âI could say the same about you. You look the same as you did in college. I mean your hair might be a little longer, and you have more muscle now.â You both laugh thinking of the two of you in college.
âGod that feels like a lifetime ago. Everything was so simple then. Before stuff went to shit.â He stiffened a little towards the end of what he was saying.
âYeahâŚthings were different back then. We were just kids trying to find ourselves for the first time. Looking out on the unknown.â You felt a wave of sadness flood when you remember what that unknown was. It was Jess. You thought you guys had it all figured out. The two of you against the world.Â
âI missed you y/n. And I know why you left. I can't blame you. And after Jess died I learned so much from people I thought were my friends too. Turns out the only true friend I had was you. And I blew it. I was going to ask her to marry me. God, I was stupid.â You can't tell what heâs feeling. He seems pissed, hurt, and sad all at once.Â
You had felt your heart shatter when he said he wanted to marry her. You knew you didn't have a chance. You had kept all your feelings bottled inside. The fear of fucking your friendship up. You would rather see him happy with someone else than lose him as a friend.
âYou were in love. Nobody can blame you.â He laughed at that. Making you shoot him a confused look.
âThat's the thing. I loved her, I did, But I wasn't in love with her.âÂ
âThen why marry her?â He didn't respond.
How was he supposed to answer that? âI loved you and didn't learn that you loved me too until I had fucked everything up. Oh and you would think I'm crazy if you learned about my past, and it's not like I could hide it from you. You saw how keeping things from you had blown up in my face every time.â
âIt was safer. She wasnât the love of my life but I knew I could be happy.â He finally stated.Â
âI get that. Sometimes life is easier if we don't get what we want.â
Falling out of that conversation into one about what you guys had done over the past 7 years. You had finished law school and worked at a firm downtown. And you loved your job but you had fallen out of love with your job the past few months.Â
Sam said he worked with his brother as an exterminator. You found that hard to believe. Sam Winchester, the boy who got a full-ride scholarship to Stanford, was an exterminator. Sam loved the thought of helping others, it was weird he went from pre-law to bug killer. You kno-knew Sam. Knew his tells. And you felt like he was lying about being an exterminator, but maybe it was just that you found it hard to believe.
~~~
After around an hour at the coffee shop, you had both made your way to your apartment. You sat across from each other, still talking about random topics.Â
âYou know what I find hard to believe Sam?â He looks at you cocking his head a little as to ask what. âThat Sam Winchester, one of the smartest people I've ever known, is an exterminator. I think it would be easier to believe you hunt ghosts for a living.âÂ
He laughed. âSo you think, me playing Ghostbusters for a living is more plausible than me killing bugs?â
You look at him with the most serious look you can muster before giving him a simple âYesâ.
âWhat if I told you that I really did hunt ghosts for a living?â
âI would say now youâre just trying to impress me.â You both laugh.
âSoâŚDid you come all the way here for me or were you already around?â You didn't know which you wanted his answer to be.
âYou. I came for you.â Your cheeks flushed. âThis past year had been Hell. Literally. And I saw my brother deal with something similar a few months back, and I saw him happy, and I wanted that.â You felt so many emotions, you looked away from him trying to decipher what he meant about you and wanting happiness.Â
âSam I-â He cuts you off.Â
âHold on, I know that that's a lot, but I need you to hear me out.â You look back at him. âI never meant to start a war. I was just dead wrong. I know weâve been in this before. Now with my eyes wide open, I tore you right apart.â Sam was crying, and you felt tears pricking at your eyes too.
You stood from your seat and walked to him wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him into your embrace. His arms wrap around your waist pulling you unto his lap so you were closer. You too sat like that even after you had stopped crying.
Sam thought back to after Jess died. He wished he could have been with you. Dean tried to help, but he wasn't you. You had always known what to do. And when the nightmares started all he wanted to do was call you. He just wanted what you guys had before everything had happened. It was a constant battle in his head of if he should find you, maybe Bobby or Dean could help, but what would he tell you? He didnât want you to think he was crazy, but he wanted to tell you the truth. The whole truth, who he really was. He wanted to stop lying to you. But keeping you out had kept you safe from his world.
Maybe it was for the best you two were apart. You were safe that way.
âY/n I'm sorryâ he finally spoke.
âFor what? Sam, you didn't do anything.â
âI- Nothing I should go.â He shifts so you are standing too so he can leave.
âSam what's wrong?â
âNothingâŚbut it's getting late, I should probably head out.â You look out the windows of your living room realizing the sun had started to set.
âOh, yeah youâre right. UmâŚIt was nice seeing you again Sam.â You pull him in for a hug before he says goodbye.Â
âHey, call me in the morning?â Stepping back you look at him.
âYeahâ Sam gave you another small hug before leaving.
~~~
âI just want to tell her Dean. I had to lie to her, because if I told her the truth then she wonât want to talk, sheâll think I'm crazy. I mean she made a crack about me being a ghost hunter. I mean sheâs not that far off. But I canât just tell her that. And it's stupid but I want her in my life again, and I don't want to have to lie every time she asks me about my personal life. Not to mention why would an exterminator constantly be on the road in an impala?âÂ
âSammy if you tell her you're exposing her to a whole new can of worms. She will know that the scary stories she hears aren't all make-believe. It's your call Sam, but you need to figure it out. If you want to fix things with her you have to be ready for the day you tell her, because she will eventually find out whether you like it or not. The question is do you want to be the one that tells her.â Sam stayed quiet after that. He tried finding ways to tell you. He wanted to tell you face to face, but he didn't want to see the look on your face when he did.Â
~~~
It had been a week since you had seen Sam. You hadnât heard from him since the morning after the two of you met up. You had reached out only to get nothing in response. It hurt, you didnât know if it was something you had done, or if he had realized he was better off without you. You were lost in thought when you almost missed the knocking on your door.
Opening your door Sam standing there. He was leaning against the doorframe, the lack of sleep and the smell of alcohol still lingering on him. In the nicest way, he looked like shit. His hair was a mess and the bags under his eyes were prominent.Â
âSam? Are you okay?â It was late, the sun had gone down not long ago.
âI'm Sorryâ His voice was low, barely audible.
âWhatâÂ
âIâm sorry that I let you down. I...Iâm so apathetic it's pathetic, but I need you nowâ You open your door more inviting him in. He walks in but doesn't move far, he just stands there. You didnât know what to do.Â
After a few moments, you wrap your arms around him pulling him into a hug. His body relaxes into your arms.
âSam what's wrong.âÂ
âSuns gone, but you always liked this time of day. No words left to play on, How many chances does it take? Now with my eyes wide open, I'm nothing but a fake.â You pull away looking up at him.
âSam youâre not a fake. I mean yeah we've had issues in our past, but youâre one of the best people around. I donât know what happened, or whatâs making you feel like this. But Iâm here.â
âI lied. And it feels like all I'm doing is lying every time we talk, every time I think about you, god even being around you Iâm lying.â
âLied? What? What the hell are you talking about?â
âThat's the thing. If I tell youâll think I'm crazy, but if I don't Iâll keep up this lie.â
âListen, I don't know what the hell youâre talking about, but you need to tell me. That or you can leave and we can pretend we never saw each other. But I can't do this Sam. I won't do this.â
âDid you ever hear how Jess died?â
âYeah, but what does that have to do with this?â
âShe didnât die in a house fire. My brother Dean and I had gone to find my dad, and when we got back I was exhausted, so I went into my room. When I looked up from my bed Jess was there. She was on fire, burning on the ceiling.â
âSam that's impossible.â
âNo, it's not. Dean saw it too And it's not the first time something like this has happened. Our mother died the same way. After she died our father began hunting those kinds of things. The supernatural. All the things you were told were make-believe, the monster under your bed, the ones hiding in your closet. I was raised hunting the things that stories are written about. And I know that this makes me sound crazy. But I would rather tell you the truth and let you in than keep you out.â
âI knew you weren't an exterminator.â You laughed
âWhat?âÂ
âWhen I asked you what you did for a living you said, you were an exterminator. And I called your bluff, you really are a Ghostbuster. I mean that is if you hunt ghostsâ
âI do hunt ghosts."
âAlso, next time, come up with a better thing than you kill bugs for a living. I mean yes, technically you do kill things, but what exterminator has no home base and drives around in a car from state to state?â
âYou would be surprised how many people believe that. Seriously though, how are you so relaxed about this?â
âOh don't get me wrong, my brain is still trying to wrap around it, but at the same time, It doesn't fully come as a shock. The little things you would do that at the time seemed weird. And why you never talked about your childhood. You grew up knowing things most people never know. The things you have seen in your life are things I will never fully understand, but I want to learn so that I can try.â
âYou want to learn?â
âYes. Iâm tired of the life I live, I help people doing the job I do, but I want to help more. A million people can do my job. How many can do yours?â Â
Sam looked at you with admiration in his eyes. He couldn't leave this life, he lived (and sometimes died) for it. If you wanted to join he wouldn't stop you, it was safer for you to learn with him if you were serious.Â
He moved next to you, pulling you into his arms, your head resting on his chest. The two of you stayed in the moment, never wanting it to end. âDonât you move. Can't we just stay? Can we start over? Donât fade away. âCause youâll always have a place in me.â
You looked up at him. âYouâll always have a place in meâ

Slip Away Part 2
Part 2 is almost complete, but there was a slight timeline change. So to anyone who read it, instead of it being 2 years it's been 7 years.
With the time being mentioned at the end this change will not affect the story but will allow me to make part two and any more additional parts better.

One Number Away
Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of Break up, Happy Ending
Word Count: 1.2k
Are you sitting at home all alone
Trying to fall asleep?
You and Bradley had been together for two years before he told you he wanted to break up. That was a month ago. It hurt like hell, there was no doubt about it. You tried to keep it together around your friends. Bradley would ask Pheonix how you were, and each time she wouldnât hold back. She would tell him how you were barely hanging on, that you were barely sleeping.
Are you staring a hole through your phone
Praying that it rings?
Are you watching a movie that you've seen
A thousand times?
Or maybe playing some Mayer
Getting lost in your favorite lines?
He knew you wouldnât call him. No matter how badly you might want to. He ended it, and you would respect that. But here he was again, sitting at the bar with a beer in one hand, his phone in the other. He wondered if you were watching your favorite movie again. The one you watched so many times you knew all the words to it.
He remembers the day he got home from training and you were dancing to Mayer as you cleaned the home you shared together. It was like his own concert with his favorite person. Love in his eyes and a smile wide on his face. You were so lost in the lyrics you hadnât noticed him come in. When you did see him a smile instantly appeared on your face as you ran to him. He opened his arms for you as you jumped into them.
Well, if you're anything like me
You just might be doing whatever it takes to drown out the noise
But I just wanna hear your voice
You flipped through your camera roll when you found pictures of you and Bradley. It was from New Yearâs. Hangman had taken your phone capturing the moment. It was you and Rooster dancing in your backyard. Everyone had been at your house celebrating when you two had separated from the group. You had never seen the video, it had gotten lost in other photos and videos from that night.
The more you scrolled the more pictures you found. Some you had taken, others Bradley had taken, and the ones your friends had captured. You found a video you had gotten from last summer when he was singing in the living room.
You missed the sound of his voice. The way it made your heart flutter like a high schooler whose crush had talked to them. You missed everything about him. But the worst part was that you knew you would never get that from him again.
Rooster had been going through his phone too. Finding a video of you on the beach building a sand castle. That was one of his favorite days. You had woken him up that morning telling him you wanted to have a beach day with him.
I'm one number away from calling you
I said I was through, but I'm dying, inside
Got my head in a mess, girl, I confess
I lied when I said, "I'm leaving and not coming back"
Bradley stared at your name in his phone. He wanted to call you, to tell you he missed you. That he knew he had been the one to end it, but he wanted to fix it. He felt like he was dying inside. You had been his light for so long he didn't know who he was without you.
Might be the whiskey or the midnight rain
But everywhere I go I see your face
In my brain, dial it up, everything I want to say
But I'm still one number away
You hadnât been able to sleep, and instead of just laying in bed staring at your ceiling you decided to go get a glass of water. You grabbed your phone before walking downstairs; you looked out the window, thinking you saw Bradleyâs Bronko. But at that same point, you thought your brain was just wishing he was there. That he was coming home to you. It had been a month and a half. It felt like it had been longer.
From the outside, it looked like you were over him. But on the inside, you were still trying to pick up the pieces. Your phone starts ringing and interrupts your thoughts. You placed your cup down before turning to see who it is.
Your heart stops at the name plastered on your screen. âRoosterâ appears in bright white letters. You stare at it for a second before answering it. âI miss youâ is the first thing you hear.
âI miss you, a lot.â You hear the sadness in his voice.
âI miss you too Rooâsâ you both talk quietly. It feels like a dream. Like youâre about to wake up and this is going to all be fake.
You heard a knock at the door. Walking out of the kitchen towards it you open it and see him standing there. You hang up your phone before you step closer to him.
You stare at him, taking in his appearance. He looks like he hadnât slept in days. You take another step towards him pulling him into a hug. He instinctively leans into it. Pulling you tight against him, his face in the crook of your neck. You fear tears building behind your eyes, and before you can stop it you begin to sob. You feel him squeeze you tighter before he moves to pick you up. He wraps your legs around his waist and steps inside, closing the door and locking it before walking towards your once-shared living room.
He sits down on the couch as you shift on top of him. You continue to cry in his arms. After a while, he pulls you to look at him. When he looks at you he hates that he is the reason you were crying.
âI never stopped loving you.â He finally says something to you.
âWhat.â Your voice was barely above a whisper.
âI was scared. Scared that somehow I would fuck up. That I would do something that would hurt you. And instead of talking to you, and telling you that I was scared, I panicked. And I hurt you. I did what I was so afraid of.â He spoke softly. His voice broke as he explained why he did what he did. âI was at hard Deck, and I talked to Pheonix, she was pissed, Hangman told me I royally fucked up, as if I didn't know that.
Mav and Penny told me to fix this. That I needed to at least let you know it was nothing you did. And they were right. I love you. And I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am. I-â
âI love you too Bradley. Please just come home. To our home.â
His hand reaches the back of your head pulling you in for a kiss. Your hands find their way to his face pulling him deeper into the kiss. You felt full again. For the first time in over a month, everything was whole. Bradley was yours again, and nothing mattered more.
