in the dc movie verse, aquaman is played by jason momoa, who is of native hawaiian and american descent, and aquaman himself has what looks like polynesian/pacific islander style tattoos, but his character is atlantean as in from atlantis. atlantis, from greek mythology, which is located in either the atlantic ocean or mediterranean. to make matters worse, justice league shows him living not far from the greenland/iceland/scandinavian region, which is in both the wrong temperature climate and sea/ocean. on top of that, aquaman’s real name, arthur curry, is irish and english, and aquaman’s wife mera is also white, despite the name mera being arabic and hebrew, all of which doesn’t match up with any of the other information. in fact, none of the information matches. however, we can actually make sense of this by putting in the perspective of a longstanding, several thousand year, timeline. in this essay, i will

hogwarts houses (toa)
Meg - Slytherin
self preservation and incredible loyalty to close friends. meets and works with/saves the life of apollo after defying her bitchass stepdad. manipulative and resourceful (her spy work and how she handled the nosoi). can be vengeful, depends on the day. ambitious on the occasions that she actually knows what she wants.
Apollo - Gryffindor
values bravery, and worship courtesy. black/white viewpoint until he starts really thinking about things. reckless and always has last minute plans. gryffs are seen as the jock/popular/most influential house, demigods and mortals have a somewhat similar standing on zeus.
Calypso - Gryffindor
can come off as righteous, but she’s okay. values bravery, and can appreciate hero types, though she’s learning not to judge like that. values good manners/chivalry and reckless when she has a set goal in mind.

hogwarts houses (mcga)
Magnus - Hufflepuff
values hardwork, kindness, loyalty, etc. is an actual cinnamon roll. has sunshine healing powers.
Blitz - Gryffindor
values bravery, his character arc is about finding personal confidence/courage. values classiness and chivalry. really passionate and can be reckless.
Hearth - Ravenclaw
pursuit of learning, pursuit of learning runes. smart and open minded. individuality (being the odd one out, usually negative from his perspective, but he’s long since grown comfortable with it) and acceptance (his oddball family of empty cups).
Sam - Slytherin
ambitious, loyal, cunning, can be manipulative, steadfast in her personal beliefs (firm in her belief of islam, despite being surrounded by pagan norse gods). slytherin is disliked for its history, sam is disliked for her parentage.
Alex - Slytherin
ambitious, self preserving, resourceful, sly. slytherin house is disliked, as is alex’s dad. also steadfast in beliefs, particularly about her power being her own, which gives her immunity to loki’s mind control.
Halfborn - Gryffindor
reckless, brave, righteous, and chivalrous/accepting. cool dude. runs into battle yelling like a stupid idiot, but watches your back and keeps classy when it really matters.
Mallory - Slytherin
cutthroat irish lass. would kill a man, would manipulate a man. ambitious in her short term goals, incredibly loyal to her family, self-preserving, cunning when situations call for it. would never defy her own beliefs unless those beliefs changed.
TJ - Hufflepuff

hogwarts houses (kane chronicles)
Carter - Hufflepuff
huffs are neutral/fair players, owing to carter’s conflict over whether he should or shouldn’t do certain things, and why he sometimes can’t get along with horus. he values hard work and earning things, as well as loyalty and kindness.
Sadie - Gryffindor
holy shit sadie. reckless, righteous, courageous, chivalrous, stubborn dork. straightforward, and true to egyptian values, tends to favor a black/white view of things. unlike carter, she won’t dwell on the “chaos within the order and the order within the chaos” bc if something’s bad, it’s bad; if something is good, it’s good.
Zia - Ravenclaw
pursuit of knowledge and blue/gold aesthetic. i mean she’s smart as fuck - she’s a SCRIBE. she’s witty and logical as well, and accepting in the end.
Walt - Slytherin
described as having a “gravity” about him and easily takes control of a situation (natural leader). he is very loyal to his friends, willing to sacrifice himself for them (personal loyalty). he is ambitious and willing to do a lot to achieve his goals (he decided to host anubis and learned how to make amulets to continue living).

hogwarts houses (hoo)
Jason - Hufflepuff
hardworking, loyal, fair play, neutrality (his indecisiveness between the camps)… and on top of that, it’s the most overlooked house, just like the 5th cohort is the most overlooked in the legion.
Piper - Slytherin
ambitious and cunning and resourceful is piper. also manipulative (charmspeak, anyone?). slytherin has the worst reputation, which is what piper aims for to get her dad’s attention.
Leo - Ravenclaw
love of learning. creative. open mind. dick jokes and puns. need i say more?
Frank - Gryffindor
values bravery and chivalry (manners). didn’t consider himself possessing of some qualities (*bravery*) but realized he did have it (aka kinda like his character arc in SoN and his perspective on his dad being mars).
Hazel - Hufflepuff
kind, hardworking, values fairness. as a person with power, she is also sometimes underestimated. and like people assume huffs are pushovers, she is used and manipulated by people who thought she was weak minded (hint: she usually overcomes it).
Reyna - Ravenclaw
intelligence and wit, logic, open minded (she was willing to work with the greeks and with percy, despite everything), wise (mature and wise enough to be able to bear responsibility for everyone), and its a house with good reputation (she’s not from the fifth cohort). also smth about her aesthetic says ravenclaw.
Octavian - Slytherin
manipulative and sly, hated bc he’s a bad guy. ambitious, extremely, which ends up getting him killed. discriminative and fucking bossy, which is to say, strong conviction of personal beliefs and rules. fraternity, of romans (kind of). everything jk rowling thinks a slytherin is.

hogwarts houses (pjo)
Percy - Slytherin
here and here explains it really well
Grover - Hufflepuff
huffs value hardwork, loyalty, dedication, and fair play. grover has been trying to reason with people on the west coast over climate change. talk about hardwork, loyalty, and dedication right there. also fairness bc the environment is severely outmatched.
Annabeth - Ravenclaw
known for intelligence and etc. she kinda fits slytherin as well, but 11/12 year old annabeth would totally choose her house based on its reputation, chances of finding like-minded people, and compatibility with her personality.
Clarisse - Gryffindor
reckless. red aesthetic. righteous. can be an asshole sometimes. values bravery, especially in warfare; and chivalry/respect to those who deserve it.
Luke - Gryffindor
golden boy. values bravery and chivalry and all that shit, but is lacking at the slytherin-like qualities of self-preservation and pursuit of personal goals. reckless at times, and more a follower (knight) that a true leader.
Thalia - Slytherin
the aesthetic. but seriously, thals is a natural leader, as well as cunning, determined, loyal, and ambitious. fraternity (sorority, especially) is also valued, which makes sense with the hunters and camp halfblood being her extended families.
Bianca - Ravenclaw
logical mind, and open mind as well. she’s also pretty wise, and ravenclaws are often associated with stars and space.
Nico - Hufflepuff
dedication (even if it’s sometimes bc grudges, but usually not), hard work, general loyalty (to his friends, to demigods, to the greater good), and fair play (being neutral with the roman and greek camps; i mean, he acted as a fucking ambassador/diplomat).
Zoë - Slytherin
ambitious, in the broad sense (attempting the quest with 4/5 ppl, therefore trying to defy a prophecy). personally loyal, as in the beginning she doesn’t really give a shit for anyone besides artemis and other hunters. leader, determined, sorority, etc.
Rachel - Gryffindor
reckless righteous redhead with nerves of solid steel. i mean. that just kind of goes w/o saying.
Will - Ravenclaw
smart (needs to be so he can be a doctor) and creative (child of apollo). he’s witty as fuck, also ravenclaws value acceptance which goes well with his lgbt storyline.
Beckendorf - Ravenclaw
creative and intelligent guy. accepting (sticking by percy’s side when everyone hates him) and open minded. logical and shit. cool dude who nerds out over robots.
Silena - Hufflepuff
kind and nonjudgmental. like beckendorf, she’s always nice to outcasts (percy and clarisse especially). general loyalty, especially to demigods as whole, and valuing hard work/dedication. huffs are an overlooked house, and aphrodite kids are often overlooked, which makes a great double agent. but in the end, she’s good.

steven’s existence
so first we kneed to question how rose was able to get pregnant in the first place. as mentioned here, gems do things that require organs (ex: eating) by shapeshifting their insides.
this means that when greg and rose decide to have a kid, greg’s sperm and a shapeshifted egg come together to form a future steven. future steven (the half human, half shapeshifted zygote) is inside a shapeshifted uterus, inside rose.
but there’s a problem: steven’s umbilical cord. the umbilical cord is how babies get nutrients, and nutrients are how zygotes grow into fetuses into babies. umbilical cords connect to the developing baby through a belly button, but steven doesn’t have one. this means that he needs an alternative method to getting sustenance, one that doesn’t not involve an umbilical cord.
(rose’s gem is pointy from the inside, and i don’t see how an umbilical cord can connect there; ergo - there isn’t one to begin with).
but here’s the thing! gems’ physical forms are essentially pure life/energy/nutrients! steven could have absorbed rose’s life/energy, which could attribute to why she lost her physical form. so here’s how i see the solutions:
steven didn’t have anything near resembling an umbilical cord, and the zygote that became him attached to the uterus lining and absorbed the needed stuff directly.
steven has been connected to rose’s gem from the inside since the fetal stage, and absorbed nutrients and energy through there. if this is the case, it could be part of why she gave up her physical form instead of giving birth; she can’t birth her own gem.
whichever one it is, in the end, steven has rose’s gem, and rose gives up her physical form for him to exist. this is what i believe happened:
to get pregnant, rose shapeshifts the inside of her body to form reproductive organs.
shapeshifted egg gets fertilized by a non-shapeshifted sperm (greg).
9 months of baby incubation/growing, during which steven absorbs the energy and nutrients that make up rose.
at the end of the 9 months, a very weakened rose gives steven the rest of her life/energy/whatever, which results in her losing her physical form. it also results in steven being born as a healthy magic baby with magic gemstone powers.
steven is now properly exists, and has a gemstone instead of a belly button / rose no longer exists because steven absorbed the energy that makes up her physical form.
tl;dr - steven absorbed rose’s magic energy powers as a fetus/while being born, which is why he’s magic and why she’s dead.

“a hologram, but with mass”
that’s what the steven universe wiki says about the physical forms of gems. what that implies, is that gems are essentially just... solidified light/energy. if gems are pure energy, this explains why they don’t need to eat/sleep/do things that rest the body and build up energy.
where do they get this energy? when gems are created, the stuff that makes a gem is injected into healthy, life-filled, soil. as a developing gem incubates, it takes away the life/nutrients/energy from the surrounding area, and takes it for itself. basically: life in soil goes into gem, life/nutrients in gem = energy = light = physical form.
to do things that require organs, the steven universe wiki says that gems shapeshift the insides of their bodies to form organs. this is how gems eat and how steven was created. it also explains why pearl, who hates shapeshifting, dislikes eating and drinking.

if you subscribe to the headcanon that he’s bi, the crescent moon is regarded as a symbol of bisexuality
also if you subscribe to the headcanon that he’s bi, remus is a werewolf (aka a blood borne disease with lots of stigma, like AIDS)
Reasons Why Remus Lupin’s Life is Terribly Ironic: A List
these are just what i can remember, so pls don’t judge me if i missed something
he was born march 10, 1960, barely 3 days before a lunar eclipse
his mum’s maiden surname is Howell, similar to “howl”, though the meaning of the name is “eminent” or “small hill” or something like that
his dad’s first name is Lyall, which means (wait for it) “wolf”
his last name is Lupin, which in latin means “of a wolf” or “wolflike”
and it’s other meaning is along the lines of “a flowering plant that quickly exhausts the soil”, kind of like how Rem’s lycanthropy makes him tired and age prematurely
unrelated to being a werewolf, his wand is made from cypress wood, and according to pottermore, it represents nobility or chivalry or smth and is typically associated with those who die a heroic death
his first name, Remus, is after some roman myth dude that got killed by his brother during a dispute (compare that to getting betrayed by Peter during the War or Sirius during the Prank; whichever suits you)
his patronus is a wolf. a frickin wolf.
he likes chocolate, which is widely known for being poisonous to dogs/canines
i’ll probably add more as i think of it

anyone else ever think about the fact that according to the prophecy, james and lily potter defied/fought directly/faced the dark lord three times before meeting him and dying; and then harry did the same?
not counting the time as a baby, because he was a baby, harry directly dealt with the dark lord three times (sorcerer’s stone, chamber of secrets, goblet of fire) before meeting him, and sacrificing himself for his loved ones, just as both his parents.

can we talk about bruce banner? and how DID is developed? bc the entire disorder comes from repeated severe trauma during early childhood (aka: the period during which personality development happens), or from the ages of 2-6 years old. i mean pls people, dont ignore this, and don’t treat bruce and hulk’s relationship like they’re the same person or a werewolf or jekyll and hyde or anything like that. because that’s really just... not how it works.
me, whispering: bruce banner has DID fandom: oh man, i wonder if the hulk is a part of bruce or a separate entity? me a lil louder: bruce banner has DID fandom: why does the hulk react to people that bruce knows?? me, a full volume: bruce banner has DID!! fandom: anyway, I wish he had a better representation of mental illness and the effects of abuse in the mcu me, banging pots and pans: BRUCE!!! BANNER!! HAS!!! DISSOCIATIVE!!! IDENTITY !!! DISORDER!!!!!!!

when speaking on potterwatch, he used the alias Romulus. in roman mythology, Romulus murdered Remus; in the hp books, Remus’ death is credited to being out of practice in dueling, which is from time he spent not fighting in the war and instead playing the role of Romulus
he excels in DADA, which is ironic since werewolves are categorized as ‘beasts’ and ‘dark creatures’

converting hours
so i was on the wiki page for Bruce Banner Earth-616, and i found this in the trivia section:
Tumblr media
1 hour as the hulk is 7.3 hours of sleep for bruce. essentially, here’s how everything boils down:
Tumblr media
so when hulk has been awake and smashing and living the good life for 2 years, bruce just finished a 14 year coma.
