Wait, Was He the Protagonist?

okay so i decided im gonna do my amazing wonderful idea, and this is a kaeya x reader because everybody prefers diluc and i prefer kaeya. so KAEYA is the male lead. also this is probably gonna be a series and yes this is isekai. okay love you pookies.

this is part 1 :)

TW: death & a little description of blood

you were scrolling on your phone boredly, waiting for your friend to get to the cafe you recommended. the tables were clean and shiny, the cafe was made out of pretty pastels, pleasing to the eye. the staff members were polite and your clothes were comfy. it was a cool getaway from the summer heat as the air conditioning chugged on. the bell jingled as someone entered the door. a few seconds later a big thud was heard at your table. you looked up, it was your friend.

"so you're finally here?"

your friend huffed and puffed, too tired to give a reply. she put her finger up in the air, signaling you to wait. you looked her up and down with a surprised face, wondering if she ran a marathon.

"oh my gosh! i just finished reading the best book ever!! remember the one i've been telling you about?" she puffed out happily.

"uhh...the getting spinfact one?" you tried to remember, but nothing helpful came up. your friend wrinkled her face, and looked at you. okay, so you got it wrong, whatever.

"no! it was called genshin impact! how are those names even remotely alike?" she said, irritated. you rolled your eyes and shrugged. they were practically the same thing!

"okay anyways, so i read the ending and i'm not gonna spoil it to you but i just wanna say that i love love love love diluc and he's so pretty and it's upsetting he had the saddest past but i'm so glad he won in the end!- oh sorry, i didn't mean to spoil!" your friend rambled on but covered her mouth apologetically.

"it's fine, i wasn't planning on reading it anyways." you muttered with a dash of saltiness. the clack of heels were head approaching and then, the waiter came with your receipt with a polite smile. just the right time. well, not really. your friend's face distorted and she asked with an angry frown.

"you ate without me?!" she practically shouted. you looked around, trying not to attract attention. you waved your hand and just said you were hungry. it was hard to wait for a friend before eating when the aroma was just so lovely.

"it's fine, let's just go to the library, you love those." you said, rolling your eyes.

"b-but i just got here!" your friend exclaimed. you just got up and laughed. your hunger overcame any morals. your friend hurriedly followed you and the bell jingled as you both walked out. your friend chattered on excitedly about her book, but you weren't really listening. you were tired after working the entire week and getting this one day off.

you tapped a pedestrian traffic light and when the walking signal came up, you just started walking. but, why wasn't your friend following you?

"watch out!" a scream and a honk sounded out. huh? what was the issu- and then a loud ringing began in your ear. your eyes were tinged red and your head blanked. you trembled as you tried to lift your hand up, and saw a crimson liquid.

was it blood? you were surprised, you weren't even sure what was going on. screams were heard - something about calling the ambulance - you weren't sure. oh man, the ringing was getting on your nerves. then, you finally noticed a truck to your side. what was it doing just sitting there? pfft, did it crash into you or something? wait, actually that sounded like an accurate hypothesis. your brows furrowed weakly, it was hard to do some thinking right now. did you get run over? but what if you died? shit shit shit, no you were too young, too pretty. but with your fading consciousness there was nothing you could do.

"stupid fucking truck..."

okay snookie pookies so thats part one and ill be making more and buckle up buckaroos because this is probably the most motivated i've ever been. anyways ill still do requests and stuff so yeah !!

OKAY SO I HAD A REALLY GOOD IDEA

SO IF YOU ARE A DOWN BAD SIMP FOR KAEYA LIKE ME YOU WOULD PROBABLY LIKE THIS

IM GONNA MAKE A STORY (maybe series???) WHERE THE READER GETS ISEKAIED INTO GENSHIN EXCEPT GENSHIN IS A NOVEL (or it can be based off the manga idk)

SO A FRIEND TOLD READER ABT GENSHIN AND WAS LIKE "omg my fav is diluc hes the protagonist, i love him. he has the saddest backstory :( but he's the prettiest!"

AND THEN READER WAS LIKE "ok yup mhm" CAUSE THEY DIDNT KNOW ANYTHING ABT DILUC OR GENSHIN. AND THEN THE FRIEND IS LIKE "oh my gosh dont get me started with kaeya, hes so inconsiderate yada yada" AND READER IS LIKE "ok" AND THEN BOOM ISEKAID LATER ON

SO THEN THEY MEET DILUC AND KAEYA WHEN THEY WERE KIDS AND THEY WERE LIKE WAIT IS THIS GENSHIN?? CAUSE A SYSTEM THING IDK SOME STUFF I DIDNT THINK THAT OUT

AND READER WAS LIKE "i better side with the protagonist to stay safe" BUT THEY MISTAKE KAEYA FOR THE PROTAGONIST CAUSE THEY THINK HES PRETTIER AND HAS A SADDER BACKSTORY AND THEY DONT REMEMBER ANY OF THE NAMES(lets just pretend theres a window next to him showing his name, age, backstory etc.) SO THEY BECOMES FRIENDS

BUT LATER ON READER REALIZES "wait, was kaeya the antagonist??" BUT ITS AFTER KAEYA GETS HIS VISION AND KAEYA IS KINDA OBSESSED W/ READER AND BOOM BOOM.

you can tell ive read too many manhwas but im so proud of myself on this one. also if you wanna use this idea you def can, just give me creds!! :) lmk if you guys want this?? ill still make other updates tho, dw!

ok wait so like yk how in some sagau (self aware genshin au) fics where people think the reader is the imposter of the creator, and then the archons try to execute the reader. well that would be so confusing if it took place after the liyue archon quest right? cause liyue thinks their archon is dead, and mondstat hasnt seen their archon for so long PLEASE

liyue: our archons dead? why is there somebody who is representing rex lapis, is this a new imposter thing or smth

mondstat: so the drunk bard who is broke is our archon??
