“so there’s such a thing as paleobotany?” you hook your arm through tsukishima’s, walking past the large skeletons.

“wow i need to show you jurassic park… i mean it’s by no means accurate to paleontology research, but one of the main characters does paleobotany,” tsukishima takes his free hand and pushes his glasses up some, standing still to look at the large tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.

you stop with him, crossing your legs as you stand there, “wow, mark watney would love that.”

he looks down at you, rolling his eyes at your blatant martian reference. frankly, he never would’ve known that if it weren’t for your obsession with showing him every one of your favorite movies. but what kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn’t know every character’s names and social security numbers.

and what kind of girlfriend would you be if you didn’t follow him through a museum of bones and hides. especially when you get the chance to catch a glimpse of wonder in his eyes. to watch as he explains the study of palynology and the impact it has on paleontology studies. the intertwining of pollen and animals that interests him so much bring such a glow to his eyes that you can’t look away from.

“you’re right, mark watney would love that,” tsukishima looks back at you, gaze meeting yours.

- you grew up with peter - like neighbors who spend every afternoon together - you did homework together, won science awards together - you were at his family’s house a lot - his uncle and aunt becoming basically your second parents - you loved your parents, they just weren’t as there as may and ben were - you helped may at the shelter - improved her meatloaf a little bit ;) - and when ben was killed - it killed a part of you - peter was inconsolable - he started pushing you away - and it grew hard for you to come around their house - ‘peter’s just having a rough time.. he’ll come around’ [may] - ‘i know, i just wish i knew when’ [you] - so you spent more time with yourself - your anger growing every time you see their house - you yourself wanted to track down ben’s killer - which made you what are you today - the prowler - it started with simply building a magnet that could pull weapons away from any perpetrators you thought killed ben - to making gloves that could propel you up a wall - you would sometimes catch peter out, growing happier - and yet you still couldn’t leave the anger behind - you kept tracking down people until finally you run into spiderman - he was always on the newspaper - but you never thought you’d actually run into the guy - ‘woah kitty cat, how about you put the claws away and we have a warm glass of milk?’ [peter] - ‘haven’t you read the news, it’s ‘the prowler’ [you] - ‘so no milk?’ [peter] - your fight’s quick, both of you equally powerful - however, police sirens send you scattering - every so often the two of you run into each other - him mainly trying to stop you from your pursuits - in your last fight, he was able to grasp your mask from you - you try to jump onto another building but he was able to catch a glimpse of you - ‘y/n? you’re the prowler?’ [peter] - ‘peter? why are you trying to stop me from catching ben’s killer? out of anyone?’ [you] - ‘because revenge isn’t the answer, he wouldn’t want this’ [peter] - deep down you know that he’s right - but the pain had festered for too long - even if it meant losing the man you loved

- your classroom is so unbelievably loud - with being an art class, you let them be expressive - the reading teacher, sugawara, next door isn’t a huge fan of this - sometimes he’ll pull you aside - ‘could you please help quiet down your classroom? it’s getting quite loud’ [sugawara] - he infuriates you more with every request - it felt like he was pulling the personality away from your class - ‘i will definitely give it a try’ [you] - but yeah you definitely infuriated him as well - it becomes a sort of battle on what you can do to annoy the other - you play music in your classroom - he leaves your door to the courtyard open and lets in the cold night air - you leave sticky notes over all of his stuff - suga then messes with your chair - it continues until finally you knock on his office door - and for once the two of you get along - ‘i actually enjoyed the game we had going’ [you] - ‘well i did have a couple more ideas that my students wanted to use’ [sugawara] - so then it becomes less of revenge and more for fun - he grows a little fond of how funny your students are - which helps him let his students be a bit more free in their young age - and you enjoy some of the quiet time as well - you’ll play a quieter song and your students will have a period of silence - it becomes quite a win-win situation - and it gets the two of you talking more - you going to his office during your lunch break - having a couple days where your classes come together for an activity - it even comes to the point of him asking you to dinner - which you happily accept - and truthfully your students wanted you together since the beginning

a knock quickly follows as you pull on a shirt over your still damp hair. you hurry down the stairs and slide towards the door with your fuzzy socks. when you unlock the door and open it, you see just who the voice belongs to, the handsome bradshaw. one hand rests on his hip while the other rests against the door frame.

“why didn’t you call me?” you question, raising an eyebrow.

bradley brings down his other hand and rests it on his left hip as well. a sarcastic smile spreads widely like butter beneath his mustache, “can’t i just walk over and see my lovely neighbor? ask for a simple favor?”

your eyebrows furrow as you watch that smug smile of his pull you right in. there’s always been something about him that you can’t seem to pull away from. the way his shirts cling to his biceps, the air force training clearly helping. “well, what are you in need of, bradshaw?”

“just wondering if you have some sugar, sugar,” he brings one of his hands forward, letting it rest just above your hip, bringing you a little closer to him.

“depends on what type of sugar you’re looking for, white, brown, light brown…” you drone off, biting your lip until his body is right in front of yours, lips a mere inch from yours.

he licks his lips, reaching down slightly to plant a kiss on your lips. they’re soft, gentle as his other hand reaches for the small of your back. “this is definitely better than any type of sugar you could have,” he whispers into your lips before letting the kiss deepens.

“i love you too,” he moans into your lips, hands reaching up to your cheeks and thumbs running against your cheekbones.

you snake your hands to his hair, pulling on the roots of them. he breaths heavily against you, chest heaving, yet you can feel his smile brush across your lips. rin always tries to pull you into trouble before his games. between quick glances and few moments alone, it was hard to find time for just the two of you.

he brings one hand to your back, pulling you closer to him. beads of sweat gather on his forehead as your body moves back into a locker. he follows as well, moving his hand to lay against the cold metal. “this is the best before game surprise i could ever ask for,” rin pulls back for a second, staring deep into your eyes.

before you can agree or pull him in for more, a voice echoes behind him. “and this is the worst surprise i could ever ask for,” washio sighs, turning around to exit the locker room to finish getting ready for nationals.

you let out a laugh, leaning your head forward so your forehead is touching his. when you look at him, he also dons a smile, his eyes rolling.

you slowly close the front door shut, entering the apartment with a special little someone in your arms. the lights are all out by the late hour leading you to run your foot into a stool.

�� “oh shit shit shit,” you whisper-yell, keeping ahold of the kitten.

as soon as the last curse word slips from your lips, you’re blinded by the lights in the hallway turning on. there stands a half asleep oikawa with a drunk-like smile on his face. his pants hang low on his hips, his shirt tangled and exposing some of his stomach. “what is in your arms? and why is it midnight?”

“well midnight comes every night… and i may or may not be holding a kitten,” you bite your lip, narrowing your eyes at your boyfriend, watching as his hands rest on his hips.

his eyes suddenly open a little more, mind clearly at the mention of an animal in their apartment. oikawa’s mouth hangs open for a second, unsure of what to say to you. he can’t ever say no to you but he can’t even remember if pets are allowed in the apartment complex. “uh babe, i love you, you know i do, but also, what about our lease?”

“i already checked, we can have pets! plus this little guy was nearly run over while i was out and i just couldn’t leave him,” you purse your lips, trying to give him the saddest and wettest cat look you could, “tooru, can we just care for him tonight. then we can figure something out!”

oikawa’s shoulders fall in defeat, a half smile on his face, “okay- fine, but just-”

“oh thank you thank you thank you! you’re the best boyfriend ever, i just, i love you so much,” you quickly hurry to oikawa, standing on your toes and kissing his cheek.

he shakes his head, leaning down and kissing your forehead before leading you and the kitten to the bathroom. “we are washing the little guy before he’s ever in our bed,” oikawa sighs, reaching his hand back and resting it on your elbow.

he leans into the living room, one hand holding a pan while the other is stirring something in it. his eyebrows are furrowed, gaze only softening when they set on you. you set down your phone and look up at him, an innocent smile gracing your face.

“peel an orange… could you peel one for me?”

rin looks back at the fridge, probably wondering why you’d want one all of sudden. especially as he’s making his famous curry rice. “i mean, i can. uh, do you think you could man the curry then? just until i get it peeled and chopped.”

you nod, hiding back a mischievous smile upon realizing that you probably don’t have any oranges. maybe a couple apples or a pear, but the last time you bought oranges was ages ago. “yeah babe, i’m coming,” you quickly follow him to the kitchen, stuffing your phone into your back pocket.

just as you get to the stove, rin opens the fridge and looks back at you, pursing his lips. “so we have no oranges right now…” he shuts the door, walking over to you, “now, i could go and get you some, or i could finish making this, maybe giving you some love.”

“i think you may just be better than an orange,” you wrap your arms around his neck, kissing him gentle as his hands rest on your hips.

tetsuro kuroo - he packed water guns - like extreme, slightly dangerous water guns - didn't even tell you - waited until you were already in the water to get you - 'suro, i'm going to get you' [you] - it is incredibly hard to move through the water - he is laughing his ass off until you finally get out - 'oh shit oh shit oh shit' [kuroo] - running as fast as he can - and when you grab the spare one? it's over - the two of you run and hide around the lake trying to get one another - until you're both looking back and run into each other - you collide, you falling on top of me - 'wow, i'm so strongly attracted to you that scientists will have to discover a fifth fundamental force' [kuroo] - 'you're so ridiculous' [you] - he's got you giggling and shit though

tooru oikawa - kayaKING!! - had a couple that he brought with so that you could go around on the lake - he likes to use the paddle to fling water at you - and push himself so your kayaks are side by side - 'would it be ridiculous if i paddle one side and you paddle the other??' [you] - 'not at all, let's do it!' [oikawa] - it absolutely fails - but it leaves both of you laughing your asses off - you eventually push him in - when you least expect it he swims under you and flips your kayak - 'i can't believe you!' [you] - 'you started it!' [oikawa] - 'that's only cause your hair looks amazing wet' [you] - 'and you look amazing when your hands are running through it' [oikawa] - literally almost knocked you out

wakatoshi ushijima - likes relaxing with you - probably reading a book or looking up volleyball techniques - made all the stops to make you comfortable - fresh towels, fruits - he even has a speaker that plays all of your favorite songs - at some point you'll find yourself right beside him, his arm under your head - 'thanks for such a relaxing day' [you] - 'yeah of course, anything for you' [ushijima] - yeah it's got you blushing - he's super kind and gentle the whole trip - just letting you enjoy your time together - if you're dating, he'd probably give you lots of forehead kisses

kotaro bokuto - cannonballs!!! - he loves them and he convinces you to too - brought snorkels since you couldn't reach the beach - still lots of plants and animals to see - you even find some snails that the two of you just sit together and watch - he'll try to scare you until it horrible backfires - 'you scared me shitless!' [you] - 'i'm so sorry! i was just trying to spook you' [bokuto] - but you'll get him back when you tickle his foot with some moss - he goes running - only returning to splash you with his best cannonball - he'd for sure take this as his chance for a first kiss - especially after everyone convinces him you like him - (of course only after he impresses you by blowing bubbles through his snorkel)
