#yes i'm aware i may be overthinking this
Text
I was re-watching Episode 1 of Spy x Family, and in Anya's flashback with her "caretakers", they said the words, "your power will bring world peace"
now, this obviously put some type of stress on anya (if you theorize that she's around 4-5 in the anime, then she must have been 3-4 in the flashback)
imagine telling a three-year-old that their powers will bring world peace. they'd obviously feel very scared, but progressing in the anime, while anya reads twilight's thoughts, her motto becomes, "i need to do _____ for world peace!" (like apologizing to damian, and studying hard).
helping a spy out would be very cool for her, and that's what's implied in the anime, but i think it goes deeper than that.
anya felt some responsibility to ensure world peace, because that was why she was created. And she knows that.
This little girl is trying to take full responsibility to ensure world peace because she was told that was the reason she was created.
all of the forgers got some kind of benefit with the creation of their family.
twilight got a non-suspicious backstory to enroll into eden, and to live as loid forger.
yor got the benefit that the police's eye would be off her, since she was married, and could continue her killing.
bond got adopted, and escaped a toxic environment, and anya got love and stable parents.
in her (anya's) mind, she also got a reason to fulfil the reason she was created.
in her mind, this is not just twilight's mission. it's her mission too.

Wandering hands had become quite a shared habit, how natural it was for their fingers to gravitate towards each other. It was always welcomed, of course, when it acted as a need of comfort from the other. When there was not one moment where they were not craving for each other.
But this was a problem. Several problems. Two very conflicting problems.
First, not only is your hand caressing him at the moment, it’s artfully roving over to his crotch. And Mingyu truly loved your bold actions and might have appreciated it if it had been within the confines of their apartment. But it was in the confines of his car, in the middle of a highway.
Second, the problem to the first problem, was that this was his wet dream come true.
It’s a no-brainer what should be deemed more urgent. Mingyu didn’t want to careen their vehicle over the edge and risk their very lives for the sake of getting his dick wet.
But.
But the danger, although he knows it should, doesn’t entirely frighten him. It was a wet dream for a reason.
But Mingyu should be smart about this. He has to be smart about this.
Meanwhile, you’re thinking you may be utterly stupid about this.
Most times, you would consider yourself a cautious person—someone who would always second-guess every decision, and hell, maybe third or even fourth-guessed. Truly, you were an overthinker. Sometimes, you wished you could just stop thinking altogether.
And that time has come now. There was absolutely no question of your decision, not even a single thought process done, when you reached to palm your boyfriend’s clothed dick. You only knew that you were being ridiculous, but it was because Mingyu looked ridiculously hot right now driving the way he does, glancing at you and smiling the way he does. What the hell were you supposed to do?
What you’re saying next is entirely pulled out of the shallowest part of your brain riddled with unbridled lust. And it challenges Mingyu’s logic and worsens his agony.
“Can I put it in my mouth?” you ask innocently, peering at him with big, curious eyes.
“I might kill us both, babe,” Mingyu said, pearly canines bared when he wore a strenuous smile. He spares an urgent glance at how your hand sits perfectly atop his growing erection, nails dragging on denim. His grip on the steering wheel tightens.
“I trust that you won’t. You’re a good driver,” you claim, smiling sharply as you give him a tilt of your head. “Is that a no?”
There was no immediate response from him, his eyes fixed stubbornly on the road that lay ahead. Yet, you still caught the clench of his jaw under the flash of a streetlamp, the whitening of his knuckles. It was insanely unfair how Mingyu could still look so gorgeous when frustration twisted his features—or was it you who simply loved seeing his frustrations?
Mingyu weighed his options. Their apartment was still many ways away, he doesn’t know if he could tough it out for that long. He’s thankful the highway is nearly void of other cars, but is utterly bitter over how it stretches on seemingly forever, leaving him no room to pull over at all. He had to maintain focus on the winding paths. He tried not to think of the deft work of your hand on him. He tried not to think of how your mouth would soon replace it. But his pleasure-ridden body betrays him miserably—his hips lifting itself into a slow rut right against your hand.
“Endangering our lives just so you could fill your slut of a mouth,” Mingyu spelled out slowly, each word sharp. “Is that what you really want?”
“Yeah,” you chirp, entirely unaffected by his tone and he could practically hear the smirk in yours. “You could say no.”
He looks at you. “I could.”
“So, say it.”
A sliver of a smile as he turns away again. “I don’t think I will.”
“Oh?” The flutter deep in your stomach intensified, the anticipation having you on the edge seat almost quite literally as you’re leaning closer, adding a little more weight on his crotch. “Why not?”
“Because I dreamt of this,” he divulges, an airy sigh slipping from his lips. “Dreamt of your pretty lips wrapped around my cock in the middle of traffic, of your frustration when I’m unable to help you force my entire length down your throat.”
“How filthy,” you jest, a shit-eating grin pulling your lips wider.
A pointed gaze. “You literally just offered to suck my dick in the first place.
A shrug. “Fair.”
Mingyu’s right hand reached for yours. The largeness of his palm fully encompasses your own as he presses down on it, applying enough delightful friction on himself for a strangled moan to get caught in his throat.
“Just do it,” he exhales, his breathing ragged. “My dick is about to explode.”
“What a poet,” You snicker and give his dick a playful squeeze which only earns more of his choked noises. But thankfully, you’re merciful as you are excited and reckless. He hears the rustle against leather as you’re maneuvering yourself, folding your legs under you. His heart beats a little loudly against his chest, thrumming up to his ears and down to his dick, as lithe, dainty fingers make quick work on his belt and the button of his jeans.
“Keep your eyes on the road for me, baby,” you say as your hand dives in to finally, finally, bring his awaiting cock out. “We both don’t want to be dead so soon before I give you the best orgasm of your life.”
“Then hurry up,” Mingyu seethes through gritted teeth.
He’s nearly at full length, and though you’ve held him countless times, you’re still marveling at the sheer size of him, how he sits heavily on your palm, throbbing thickly. Your fingers just barely come into a circle when you start to stroke him with an unhurried and leisurely pace, feeling the full extent of him.
“This hard just from me groping you?” you coo, tone a honeyed venom, as you run a thumb over his slit. “Trying to act all cool with me when you’re just as desperate to fill my slut of a mouth.”
“Baby,” Mingyu said with heavy breaths that taper off into croaked groans. “Please don’t tease.”
“Don’t be so impatient,” you tut. “I promise I’ll make you feel good, but you have to be good and keep driving. Can you do that for me?”
Mingyu swallows hard, the lump on his throat bobbing, and gives an obedient nod of his head before adjusting himself with a straightened back which might’ve been the umpteenth time he’s done so since you’ve offered your sinful proposal.
“Good,” you hum, preening at his easy compliance, and dip your head down.
Mingyu bites down on his bottom lip hard when you take one small, tentative lick at his weeping slit. A ditzy giggle bubbles up your throat when he throbs almost immediately in response and your hand squeezes at the base of his cock in return. You continue with a few more teasing flicks, lapping up the bitter taste of him on your tongue, and only when you feel Mingyu’s thighs flex and strain to jerk up into your mouth do you ultimately indulge him.
“Oh fuck,” the poor man cusses out when you down him as much as you could, your mouth a luscious wet warmth as it envelopes around him. “Holy fuck, baby, that’s so good.”
You hum appreciatively around his unbelievable girth, sending vibrations coursing down the just as unbelievable length that only has Mingyu whimpering praises more. A hand makes up for the rest of him that your mouth couldn’t quite reach just yet; it works in perfect tandem with your slackened jaw as your head begins to bob up and down on him.
Mingyu does not dare steal a glance in total fear of losing all sense of himself at what is most definitely the most lecherous view of his fantasies coming to life. His head stays firmly pinned against the leather-clad headrest, twitching eyes hell-bent on the road. But he could still hear the obscenity of it, all the wet glugs and sucks as your cheeks hollow out for him, and it does all but aid his concentration, gradually winding a burning hot coil deeply set in the pit of his stomach. The wandering habit presented itself as his right hand began to move (thanking the high heavens for making him left-handed), and glided over your back and all the way down under the impossibly short skirt you wore.
“That’s it, angel,” Mingyu drawls out in encouragement, his hand grabbing at the supple flesh of your ass. “You’re taking me so well.”
Hearing his praise and feeling his straying hand only spurs you to dip your head lower, attempting to swallow down more of him. There’s a sense of satisfaction when he bumps the back of your throat and you find that you have been able to take more than half of him in your mouth. But it’s fleeting when the latter half of Mingyu’s dream comes to light sooner than anticipated—that frustration, a consuming greed, of wanting to take him whole. And like he alluded to, you knew it wasn’t possible if he wasn’t fucking your mouth open, which is entirely out of the question. You’re still trying for some form of compensation—a hand wringing at the base, tongue lapping hungrily at the sides of his cock with lewd slurps—and it all comes out good when jerking out moans from Mingyu, but it’s short in appeasing you. It’s desperation now that’s having you creep further along his length, and it’s so so messy with the obscene amount of saliva cascading down his shaft, coating him with a wet sheen. You resist the urge to gag every time he hits the back of your throat and try to veer your focus on breathing through flared nostrils, eyes fluttering shut in concentration.
It’s laughable how easily that focus is broken when prying fingers begin to pull your flimsy underwear.
“I couldn’t help myself,” Mingyu averred, flashing a sly smile your way, before he’s gliding a calloused digit over your folds, gathering at the wetness trickling out.
Your mewls are broken and garbled, a new surge of spit gushing down, dripping on his lap. Instinctively, your hips swivel back hungrily in search of more blissful friction, as you peer up at him through wet lashes, a stray tear flowing down your cheek.
Mingyu catches it when he casts a quick glance again. He notes the utter desperation contorting your expression, the glistening cheeks a sign of your eminent passion, and something deep inside him both inflames and melts at the same time. His eyes are assessing the road when it flickers back up, and there—the greatest silver lining known to man (just Mingyu) kissing the dusky sky—is the end of the highway. He doesn’t speed for it, no, instead he forgoes it, just the slightest bit as his foot eases off the pedal. He forgoes it for the sake of securing the vehicle, for the sake of slipping his a finger inside your wet channel as a reward for the glorious way you worship his cock.
The surprised, choked-out groan you exude goes straight to his dick, quite literally. And he’s echoing it, staggered but loud enough to drown out the music flowing from the speakers.
“I’ll pull over soon,” Mingyu imparts, gently hooking the digit and stroking your walls. “Just a little longer, baby, then I’ll fuck your throat. You’d like that too, won’t you?”
You pull off him with a satisfying pop, a string of spit threading between his cock and your glistening lips that’s quickly broken when both hands replace where your mouth’s been, stroking hard and fast. You glance up at him with your bottom lip tucked between your teeth, holding back your moans as your hips sway back into his finger.
“Be quick,” you whisper, eyelids flickering, and you lean back down to trace the veins along his cock with your tongue. “I want all of you in my mouth. I want you to bury your fingers in me. I want you to abuse me until I'm a mess of spit and tears.”
Fuck.
Mingyu slams on the acceleration. He’s still commandeering the vehicle securely with one hand, but the finger inside you goes still, letting you use it as you please with shallow rocks of your hips and clenches of your walls. He takes a right when the road opens up and pulls up in a relatively empty parking lot very swiftly with the practiced ease of the seasoned driver he was.
Up until then, you were suckling on his tip, coaxing thick, pearly rivulets out of him onto your tastebuds. If it had been possible to be drunk off of precum, you certainly appeared to be buzzed out of your mind with how much you were giggling and lapping at him for more. You were impossibly gone in the pleasure of giving your boyfriend pleasure that you weren't given enough time to prepare yourself for the absolute reckless and barbaric nature that would be forced upon you.
Safely parked, Mingyu ignored the garbled whines when he pulled his finger away from your clenching walls as he goes to quickly undo his seatbelt. Mingyu reached for two firm fistfuls of your hair, used it as a rein to properly align your mouth for him to shove his way inside promptly without so much of a warning. Gone was his usual gentle nature, he’s completely ruthless. The power of his thrusts is terrifyingly inhumane, his sac slapping up against your chin with ease now that he waives your own comfort. He’s focused on gaining his pleasure and his alone.
“Better?” Mingyu laughs darkly. “Were you struggling all this time? Is your mouth filled up enough now? C’mon, pretty baby. Let me hear those gags.”
You do let him hear it, all the gurgles and violent retches made around him. You fucking know this’ll leave you voiceless the next day—hell, maybe for the next few days if you continue moaning against the repeated force—and yet you’re still indulging him, conceding your entire being to him almost too easily, almost too enthusiastically.
Like the sick person you were, the brutality has you practically soaking wet through the fabric of your underwear. If you weren’t in such a rough position, you might’ve reached back to relieve yourself of the incessant throbbing of your core. And Mingyu held the mantle now, your authority beaten right out of you, so you weren’t so sure if he would appreciate you doing anything else other than being his cocksleeve.
So instead, with tears a steady stream down your face and lips red and swollen, you let him abuse you, narrowing your focus on the sliding weight of his dick on your tongue, your head laxed for him to fully control with no restraints or complaints. A perfect little toy.
Your pleasurable suffering wouldn’t last for long. Mingyu was close to breaking himself. You feel his thighs tense from where you gripped him for balance, his panted moans rising in volume against your ears.
“You’re going to swallow everything I give you, you got that?” Mingyu drawled. “Every single bit. You wanted your mouth filled, yeah? You take it all, darling.”
Your responding, muddled moans are a warm wet ring around him. If you could see him, you’d find how pleasure cruelly contorts his features. It takes a couple more messy, stuttered strokes then the burning coil inside him that wound so tightly snapped so violently. A surge of warmth overwhelms Mingyu, his muscles tensing and seizing, and a long, broken noise is ripped right out of his chest, as he comes in thick ropes of white right into your mouth.
The salty, warm cum of him glides down your throat like melted cream. You do try to guzzle it all down as told, but he always comes in such heavy loads. Coughs threaten to tear your throat but you’re suppressing them with the greatest effort until hot tears streak down your cheeks, your chest heaving wildly.
“So good,” Mingyu exhales, his grip on you loosened as he takes to petting your hair with such affection as he rides out the remainders of his high. “You’re so good for me, angel.”
Satisfied after gulping down the last spurt of him, you finally let up with a small whimper, your frame quivering as you sat yourself back on your folded legs, your eyes eager when it found him. Mingyu still looked unbelievably good sweaty and flushed. You couldn’t even begin to imagine what you might have looked like with your hair strewn about and swollen lips.
Mingyu didn’t seem to care. He was smiling at you with great fondness as if he had not just abused your mouth like a mere plaything. He reached to wipe some excess cum on your chin with a thumb before immediately shoving past your swollen lips. Still quite pliant, you lick it up earnestly, giving another wanton moan around him.
“Fuck,” Mingyu starts, huffing out a breathy laugh. “You’re my wet dream come true.”
“You’re welcome,” you try to lilt, but it comes out raspy and painful.
Mingyu notices the wince in your expression and frowns, a hand immediately moving to cradle the side of your throat tenderly. “Does it hurt?”
“Well, you were not exactly gentle, Gyu,” you pointed out humorously, but caught sight of the slight concern lining his face and you quickly followed up with, “But I loved it a lot. It was hot. You were hot.”
Mingyu still looked concerned but at least the corners of his lips twitched at your addition. “I could tell you loved it. You took me really well, angel.”
“And I’d do it again and again,” you said, grinning. “Even though I’m pretty sure my windpipe is bruised.”
His hand lifts to hold the side of your face, a thumb smoothing over your cheek, as he looks over you for a moment. There’s a strange little glint in his eyes, and in your recovering state, you couldn’t quite place what it was, but it has your stomach churning again.
“I should make it up to you, shouldn’t I?” Mingyu murmurs, head cocked to the side as he smiles.
“Could you?” you ask in turn, voice soft. “Please?”
“I’ll take care of you,” he croons, raising his hand up to brush your hair back, his fingers threading through your hair. “Don’t worry your pretty little head.”
Mingyu reaches over you, promptly maneuvering your seat backwards. He eases you until you’re laying flat on your back, and his hands move to grip at your thighs, lifting them and spreading them wide. The breeze that hits your cunt has you trembling and you feel absolutely exposed when Mingyu only watches your tiny frame unfold before him, eyes drinking in the sight with an insatiable hunger. He brushes a knuckle over your soaked folds, tentative, before pressing it roughly against your throbbing clit. You’re whining, arching your back off the seat as a rush of searing pleasure courses up your veins.
You’re whining even louder when Mingyu draws back. You try to reach for his arm but it’s useless when it’s thickly corded with so much power.
“Looks like I didn’t ruin your throat enough if you’re this fucking whiny,” Mingyu remarked sharply with a laugh. He does reach a hand back but your excitement quickly fizzles out just as it spikes when a slap lands quick and sharp on your cunt and you’re jerking in your seat. “Sit still and wait quietly.”
You press your quivering lips into a thin line and nod your head obediently.
With a pleased smile, he pulls back once again. He fixes himself, shoving his dick back into his underwear, followed by sweeping his long hair back and away from his face. He takes his sweet time and doesn’t spare you a single glance as if you weren’t there at all, all the while you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him, the anticipation simmering sickly in your stomach. Then, he’s suddenly reaching for the gear shift, setting the car in reverse, and pulling out of the parking lot.
“W-Where are we going?” you asked urgently.
“Home,” Mingyu replied casually, turning the wheel adeptly with one hand. “Where else?”
You looked down at yourself, at the compromising position he forced you in and forced you to hold. “But - ?”
As if to answer your question, his right hand roves over to you and between your legs. He starts with a press on your clit, then caresses the roughened pad of his finger down to where you leak, before bringing it right back up to start again, and again, and again.
“I promise I’ll make you feel good, baby” Mingyu echoes your words, a vicious smile pulling his lips. “But you have to be good and hold yourself up like that. Can you do that for me?”
“Are you getting back at me?” You meant for your words to come out as an aggravated hiss, but it came out pathetically as a soft whimper.
“Yes,” he responded, not wasting a beat, and peers at you, a dark glimmer in his eyes. “And because this is another wet dream of mine.”
“How lucky,” you start, taking in a shaky breath when Mingyu rubs short, tight circles on your sensitive nub. “How lucky you get to fulfill two of your dreams today.”
“It’s all because of you,” Mingyu grins and, without warning, slides two thick fingers inside you. “Now, answer the question.”
“Yes,” you gasp out immediately, the sudden breach stinging so sharply, but your walls gave a sickly delighted spasm around him anyway. Your arms come up and hook themselves around your knees, bringing it up to your heaving chest. “Yes, I can.”
“Good,” he hums, curling the digits and pressing it roughly against the sweet nerves inside you. “Tough it out because this time, I will not be pulling over.”

Will enby Helsknight/trans Tanguish/top surgery scars/stubborn avoidant Welsknight in a gender crisis make it into the main story of RnS? Like, a full acknowledgment of it? Because yes, us on tumblr are aware (and happily bully RnS Wels for it) but I’m curious to how it may be brought up in the main storyline instead of rambles and drabbles. (Don’t get me wrong, those rambles and drabbles are what get me through the day. But my best friend, who isn’t in the MCYT fandom whatsoever, just caught up with RnS and doesn’t use tumblr, and besides spamming her with tumblr posts I wanna know how much I can revel in the glory of the skrunkles with her!)
That is a great question, actually. And the answer is I don't really know.
So this is one of the downsides to writing things chapter by chapter. If I had gone into this going "oh heck yeah they're trans", this would've come up in the plot way sooner. It's nice information 1) for all the trans folks reading and 2) because it has the potential to inform the themes in the narrative. This whole story is about two chief things I think: death [the inevitability of] and identity [what defines you and why]. Why should you care if literally no one else (including the universe) does? That would be so cool to speak about in terms of a trans allegory! Why do you care about gender when it's just one thing in a world of crazy things? Or at the very least, how does it inform your identity? But this is a change I made on a whim suddenly, and I know Exactly Where I Want This Plot To Go, so trans topics and allegories as Plot Points probably won't happen.
On the more technical side of introducing trans characters -- how do you do that without just dropping "oh btw they're trans" in? Like, how do you make it a relevant thing to talk about, that doesn't feel forced or shoehorned in, especially this late in the story? Probably me overthinking, but I read it done wrong so often. It gets tired. And if I ever work on my original stories, there are trans characters in there! If I can figure out how to Do It Well in a fanfic, then I can figure out how to do it in original fiction someday maybe. So I kinda wanna take the introduction seriously? I've actually been thinking about it so much I've thought about rewriting the intro to the next chapter ahaha [it already needs rewritten in general, there's a lot going on, but the intro was going to be Helsknight waking up from something, and he sleeps shirtless, and not addressing top surgery scars then would be kinda silly I think.]
I can say at the very least, Gender Avoidant Wels probably won't factor in the story much. He is a character, but I don't think he'll become Enough of a character to faithfully address something like a trans self discovery arc. At best his issues with gender might be mentioned in passing.
Sorry! I know you probably want a better answer! My answer is basically: I don't know I'm still working on it. I want it to be there, but the capacity it's there is undecided.
That being said, I've been sitting on this glorious ask since the shenanigans started and the temptation to just Do That grows every time I read it:

i don't know what it is about Hunter's "Cool. Happy to help." that makes me go crazy but it does. it being such a simple and kinda dorky response to Willow's shy but sincere thank you and "You mean a lot to me too." (which also makes me crazy), Zeno's delivery making it have like seven different layers of emotion because he can't help himself apparently, the fact it plays over them holding pinkies and bumping hands, the fact we know he's on the verge of tears while saying it. i am UNWELL
CAN I TALK ABOUT IT??
It is heavily implied that this little moment, while ambiguous, is intended to be a massive shift in their relationship. Like it's veered from them being platonic while nursing mutual crushes into something with deliberate romantic intent from both sides. I don't think they would be comfortable saying they're dating just yet but....they're not not dating, y'know? Like something has undeniably changed in a very permanent way. It's certainly new to them but they're both aware of it. They're both aware that this is something beyond friendship right now.
(I been saying this since the episode leaked, when I only had the scene itself to go off. But considering the crew is finally allowed to share their huntlow art, Zeno is allowed to open his mouth and Dana rted art of them captioned "they're canon now <3" that's as good a confirmation as any. If I remember right, Dana was also pretty tight lipped about explicitly romantic lumity, but was free to post about it after Hooty's Door aired. Yknow. When they officially became an item.)
That scene is literally the two of them establishing this relationship development between each other. The dialogue is kinda vague but bleedingly sincere though the interaction is also aided by nonverbal signals. So like. No wonder Hunter sounds Like That. We are watching him get a girlfriend before our very eyes.
Now I KNOW "You mean a lot to me too." is supposed to be romantic because why else would Hunter be so overwhelmed that he tears up? There is no way in Hell Willow Park never expressed her platonic appreciation for Hunter before. That's her FRIEND!! She wouldn't just not tell him that she cares about him. So this....this is different. She's saying something completely different here and Hunter picks up on it. He may have been a little unsure if he was overthinking it, but it seems like the linked fingers really cement the reality for him. Willow is saying she has feelings for him.
I would give anything, ANYTHING, for Zeno or Dana or Eden or SOMEBODY to explain what the exact voice direction was for "Cool. Happy to help." was because I'm obsessed with it. It's like!!!!! Holy fuck!!!!! He's trying to mentally catch up with what's happening here but his brain hardly works and he's all emotionally mushed up. He's giddy, he's breathless, his stupid little galdorstone is trying to punch a hole through his chest. He wants to burst out laughing because of how absurd this all is. He wants to break down into hysterical tears. He's pretty sure he's gonna explode. Also she's TOUCHING him. Very subtly but he's crippingly aware of it. The feeble body heat seeping from her little finger seems like enough to spread through his whole body. It's burning his face, his ears, the back of his neck.
You can feel Hunter trying to hold himself together with every syllable. The fact that he's like "Cool..." after Willow tells him she loves him like???? ASGDBFJNK. Man would get smooched and be like "Alright. Thanks." Because he wouldn't know what else to say. Like he's clearly trying to play it casual. Like this is all no big deal. Because this is Willow and he wants to be cool. But the way his voice cracks, like he'd probably squeak if he wasn't working so hard to control his tone, the noticeable shakiness, it's all so possessed by an explosive burst of nervous excitement.
It really reminds me of when Luz asked out Amity, she was like "Yes!!" And Luz just awkwardly responded with "Okay..." smiling stupidly, with an obvious vocal tremble because she was ecstatic and terrified at the same time.
"Happy to help," is a lot softer and less uneven, but he's still obviously losing his mind. That's when he bumps his own hand against Willow's. If I'm being honest, I think his mouth went on autopilot by this stage. It just seems like the kind of thing you say when you're completely fucking blanking. He is 99% focused on the fact that they are kinda holding hands right now and trying to gather his bearings, he'll just fucking say whatever.
But MAN. Its so funny. It's so good. Willow expressing her feelings to Hunter and him vocally responding in the lamest way possible, while sending a far more romantic signal with body language. It's SO them.

When Wednesday realised she wanted to be around you, talk about you, or really just do anything that involves you. She thought she was going insane.
She tried distancing herself from you, but it’s quite hard to do that when you’re in all her classes and regularly come to her dorm to hang out with Enid.
Not only that, but she also didn’t want to distant herself from you. She always felt a piece of her missing whenever you weren’t around.
It took a very long conversation with Thing for her to understand she had fallen for you. Hard.
“Why would you do that? Thing, I specially told you I didn’t- “
“Wednesday! How are you not ready? I thought you were showing me that monster clue tonight.” You barraged into her dorm room with an upset expression. You were wearing your hunting gear and had a turned-off flashlight in your hand.
Wednesday grabbed her jacket off her bed and slipped it on. She sent Thing a murderous look before walking towards you. “Sorry, we are, but Thing kept me distracted.”
Truth be told, she wasn’t aware of this hunting trip until 3 minutes ago. Thing had slipped a note into your bag, claiming that Wednesday had found a clue as to who the monster may be and needed you to come to look at it tonight.
You walked out into the hallway with a sigh, “Hurry up.”
Wednesday narrowed her eyes at Thing, “I’ll kill you when I get back.”
If it was possible for Thing to smile, he’d be grinning from ear to ear right now. “Don’t forget to ask them.” He signed.
Wednesday scoffed and quickly walked out after you, slamming the door shut with so much force it rattled.
“So, where are we actually going? I feel like we’ve been walking in circles for ages now.” You groaned, sitting down on a rotting tree log.
Wednesday bit her lip with a quick sigh. She had no idea how to ask you out. Did you even like her back? You’ve never sent her signs that you do. What happens if you reject her? God, that would be embarrassing.
“Wednesday?” Your voice snapped Wednesday out of her overthinking trance.
“We may be a bit lost. The forest looks different at night-time.” Wednesday quickly lied.
You smiled and stood up from the log, “That’s okay. It means I get to spend more time with you while we keep looking.”
Wednesday’s heart fluttered.
After 20 minutes of listening to you ramble about your new video game, Wednesday finally built up the courage to ask you out. She just wasn’t sure how to word it.
“Y/n.”
“Sorry, was my rambling getting annoying? Sometimes I get carried away.” You apologised, slightly embarrassed.
“It wasn’t but, um. Do you- do you feel a romantic attraction to anybody at the moment?” Wednesday awkwardly stuttered out.
“Uh, yeah, I guess.” You were confused as to where Wednesday was going with this.
“Who?”
“You say first.”
Wednesday stopped walking and looked at you. Her eyes were soft and showed vulnerability.
"I have a romantic attraction to you., Y/n." Her eyes were darting around to look at anything but your face, "And I want to be your girlfriend, that's if you feel the same thing about me, of course."
Your eyebrows rose in surprise at Wednesday's confession, "Wait, really? Of course, I want you to be my girlfriend, Wednesday! I've liked you since I first met you."
Wednesday licked her lips and nodded, "Great, so, we're dating now?"
You laughed, "Yes."
A smile spread across Wednesday's lips, "Don't tell Thing though, he set this whole 'hunting session' up so I could ask you out. He'll have such a cocky attitude for days if he finds out we're dating."
"So there isn't any clues?"
"Unfortunately not."
"I knew it! I was so confused when you said you were lost. You never get lost."
"I'm too smart to get lost in the woods at night."
"Oh, far too smart." You sarcastically said with a grin.
Wednesday narrowed her eyes at you playfully, "I am far too smart."
You hummed and started to walk up ahead of Wednesday.
"I will, unfortunately, be telling Thing we're dating though." You immediately started to bolt as soon as you finished the sentence, knowing Wednesday would do everything in her power to stop you.
Wednesday was quick to run after you, only a couple of steps behind you. 'Y/n, no!"
"Thing! Thing!" Your doubled-over as you tried to even out your ragged breathing.
Wednesday quickly wrapped her hand over your mouth, "Don't even or I swear I'll leave cockroaches in your bed."
"Thingwe'redatingeachother." Your voice was muffled by Wednesday hand but he was able to deceiver what you were trying to say.
"See, Wednesday. I told you that my idea would work." A mix of proudness and cockiness filled Thing.
You stuck your tongue out and licked the palm of Wednesday's hand, making her immediately let go of you.
"Gross." She muttered, "Now he's not gonna shut up about this for weeks."
You shrugged and flopped down on Wednesday's bed, "Sucks for you."
Wednesday tried to stay annoyed at you but she couldn't. The excitement of her being able to finally call you hers was still strong and she wanted to enjoy these first moments of your romantic relationship with each other happily.

Spaghetti and Specters
Spike is going to his girlfriend's house for dinner to meet her family for the first time, and Man does he regret not doing any research on them beforehand. Now he has to fight for his damn life over a plate of what is honestly kind of mediocre spaghetti.
For @darthfrodophantom's prompt: Jazz brings a date home for the first time. She didn’t exactly brief them on her family’s whole ghost thing. Antics ensue.
Read on AO3
[Warnings for anxiety and overthinking spirals, mentions of abusive parents (not the Fentons)]
"You're sure about this?" he asked. "Parents don't typically like me."
He was standing on the front porch of his girlfriend's house. The sun had just gone down, and it wasn't quite dark yet, but it was starting to get cold, and it made him wish he'd brought a jacket, aesthetic be damned.
"My parents are not your parents, Spike," Jazz insisted, straightening his leather vest and fishnet sleeves, and he relished the warmth of her hands as she did so. "My younger brother has a goth friend who comes over all the time, and they've never had a problem with her. They're not the types who judge based on appearances. They may be... apprehensive, but they'll at least give you the chance to prove whether your respectable or not before they give you the shovel talk."
"Oh, joy."
His sarcasm was something his parents had tried to shame out of him for a long time, but Jazz never did. She said that it was just a coping mechanism, and a pretty common one at that. The worst she would ever do was roll her eyes like she did now.
"Come on, Spike, they're giving you a chance," she said. "The least you can do is extend them the same courtesy."
"And what about the non-binary thing? Have you told them yet?"
"My brother's trans, too, I think I've told you that before. If they hold that against you, then there are gonna be much bigger problems at this dinner than whether they like you or not," she responded, amusement lacing her tone. "I know you're anxious, and that's understandable. If you really don't want to do this, I won't force you, but you're stronger than your fear."
"You definitely want me to meet your parents?"
She shrugged and nodded. "I won't force you to, but yes, I do."
"Then I'll do it," he said. "For you."
She smiled that pearly smile of hers, the one where you could actually see that she'd never forgotten to brush her teeth in her life, and she pushed up on tip-toe to give him a kiss on the cheek. Spike was actually shorter than her, when he took his shoes off, but his platform goth boots alleviated his dysphoria over his height, and they looked damn good doing it. He liked when she stood on tip-toe to kiss him, loved the feeling of tilting his head down and wrapping his arms around her warm body and pulling her flush against him like she belonged there.
He didn't do that now, because they were standing on her front porch, illuminated by the bright neon sign overhead, and all the neighbors could see. But a kiss on the cheek was nice too.
He took a deep breath and smiled at her. His smile was small and dull, barely a twitch of the lips, and nothing like hers, dazzling, and full-toothed. She said she liked it anyway. She said it suited him. And he always believed what Jazz told him, because she was the most brilliant person he knew, and she'd never ever wrong.
"I'm ready," he said.
Jazz pushed open the door and walked in, and he followed a few steps behind her, his steps feeling mechanical and his shoulders tensed. At first glance, the inside appeared to be a perfectly normal home. On closer inspection, however, there were a few things that didn't quite fit. The vacuum cleaner in the corner looked weirdly high tech, and there was a magazine called Ectoscience Quarterly on the coffee table. The air also smell faintly of ozone and something else Spike couldn't place, something sour. Citrus maybe? No... he didn't think that was right.
Standing there, in the living room, Spike became suddenly and acutely aware that Jazz never talked about her parents. She talked about herself, and her dreams, and stories from her past; she would bring up her brother in passing from time to time, and although Spike never learned very much about him at one time, she'd mentioned him enough now that Spike had begun to form a mental image of the freshman in his mind; but she never talked about her parents.
Spike talked about his parents all the time, since Jazz was usually willing to let him vent to her, though he always asked first, just in case. He liked having someone to talk to that he trusted, and he trusted Jazz more than anyone else. She said that his family was manipulative, controlling, and emotionally abusive, and he'd never once argued with her, because they were. Jazz was always right, after all. The second he turned eighteen, he was going to move out, one way or another, and she had an open invitation to join him, although she hadn't accepted it. At least... not yet.
The most Jazz had ever said about her parents was something along the lines of, "and my parents, ugh, they're certainly not making it any easier."
That, she said kind of a lot. He'd asked before if she wanted to vent, but she always shook her head and told him she'd rather focus on other things instead of dwelling on her frustration. Her parents, apparently, frustrated her a lot, though he knew she loved them anyway. He hoped that meant that she could love him anyway, too, even when he frustrated her.
Still, that wasn't to say he knew nothing about her parents, just... almost nothing. He'd heard the Fenton name thrown around enough, at school, and by adults around town, that he'd at least gathered they were somewhat infamous, though he didn't know why. Spike was never one for eavesdropping, or gossip, and his hearing wasn't the best anyway, so he was always out of the loop on the local hot topics—except for the stores.
The Fenton Works sign on their house seemed to indicate that they owned some kind of business, although doing what, he didn't know. Maybe some kind of technology or repair shop? Although most of the business must've been online or their ground floor would be more commercial.
Come to think of it, he had seen them once before, at the beginning of the school year—months before he and Jazz had started dating, back when he was just the classmate who helped her with her psych homework. If he recalled correctly, they'd captured Jazz in a net for some reason and carried her away. Whatever that had been about, he had not wanted to get involved, especially since he honestly barely knew her back then, so he'd just left.
Now that he was in their house, surrounded by that weird, increasingly acrid smell, he was wishing he'd done a little more research before agreeing to come over for dinner.
"They're probably in the kitchen," Jazz said.
He continued to follow her through a doorway, and into what looked, on the surface, to be an ordinary kitchen. Counters, cupboards, tile floors, all perfectly ordinary. There was a decent-sized, round table in the center of the room with five mismatched place-settings, and as many mismatched chairs. There was a homey feel to it. Though it was a little cramped, and eclectic, it still felt much more welcoming than his own dining room ever did, always with a spotless tablecloth and matched sets of dishes and silverware.
But Spike also noticed suspicious green stains on the table's surface that didn't look like they could have come from any food he knew of. Just like the vacuum cleaner, all their kitchen appliances also looked like they'd be more at home on the set of a sci-fi movie than in an urban apartment. Again, he wished he'd tried to learn more before just showing up here.
There was a red-haired woman in a teal jumpsuit standing over the stove, humming pleasantly, and Jazz groaned when she saw her.
"Mom, I thought I asked you to dress normally when Spike came over!"
"But honey, this is how I normally dress," Jazz's mom replied, turning. "And you must be Spike. My, that's a nice vest! Jazz has told us a lot of nice things about you."
"Uh, yeah, that's me, and thank you," Spike said awkwardly. "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Fenton."
"Oh you can just call me Maddie," she said. "And it's wonderful to meet you too. My husband's downstairs in the lab, but he'll be up for dinner, you can count on that."
She chuckled like that was supposed to be funny and Spike let out a weak, uncertain laugh so she didn't think her joke fell flat, even though he didn't understand it.
"You can go ahead and have a seat wherever you like," she told him. "Jazz, would you mind letting Danny know that dinner's almost ready? He's up in his room."
"Sure, Mom."
Jazz left the room without a second thought, and Spike was left with the utterly horrifying decision of whether to sit down at the table, risk taking someone else's usual seat and disrupting the family's usual dinner dynamic, as well as condemning himself to spending time alone with his girlfriend's mom; or backing out to find a seat in the living room, and giving Mrs. Fenton the impression that he was the kind of rude, anti-social person who would just leave her there to cook without any company or conversation.
Oh no, he realized.
He'd been standing there too long to leave. If he'd wanted to wait in the living room, he should have left the kitchen at the same time Jazz did. There was no backing out now. Now his only option was to sit at the table before he gave her the impression that he was an indecisive wuss by standing there too long. But which seat? Should he go with the one that looked the least worn? They all looked pretty worn, but maybe that was just because the seats didn't stay in the same position.
Just sit down anywhere! urged Spike's panicked thoughts. Your mere presence at the table is going to disrupt the dinner dynamic. Sit down now before she thinks your some kind of weirdo!
He reached out mechanically to pull out the chair closest to him and take a seat. Mission success. God, this was why Jazz said he probably had anxiety disorder. He was really trying to stop overthinking things so much, but this situation just made that tendency flare up like it usually only did around his own parents.
"Sorry none of the tableware matches," Mrs. Fenton said, though she was still standing over the pot, and not looking at him. "Jack and Danny are both a bit clumsy, so dishes tend to get broken a lot by mistake around here, chairs too, if you can believe it." She laughed.
When Spike smiled, he tried to make it bigger than usual, stretching his lips a little wider so she wouldn't mistake that he was smiling. It probably just looked creepy. He should stop. Should he stop? He should say something.
"I don't mind," he said. "It makes this place feel lived-in—like a home, I mean. I just think there's something kind of... uh... aloof about everything being a perfect matched set."
"You know, I like that," Mrs. Fenton said. "That's a very interesting point of view. Certainly makes me feel better about it." She laughed again. She was a cheerful woman, that or she just happened to be in a very good mood today.
"I must say, you seem like a nice boy," she said after a moment. "Jazz's last boyfriend was a punk. Very disrespectful and reckless. I don't know what she saw in him."
"I'm actually not..." Spike trailed off, unsure if he should even say anything. Jazz said her parents wouldn't mind, but he was still hesitant to contradict her mom.
"Hm? Not what, dear?"
Oh, damn it, she was already calling him dear, he couldn't lie to her now. "I'm non-binary," he said, trying to keep his voice steady and not let it fall too quiet as he spoke. "I'm Jazz's partner, not her boyfriend."
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to assume," Mrs. Fenton said immediately, looking back at him sympathetically. "Would you prefer I use they/them pronouns for you?"
"I actually prefer he/him, but they/them is fine with me, too. Whichever's easier for you."
"If you prefer he, then I'll use that," she told him. "I know that's what Jazz uses, too. I guess that's why I assumed you were a boy, but that's my bad. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable."
The only thing stopping Spike from tearing up at a parental figure not only correcting themself when they misgendered him, but also apologizing for it, was the fact that he'd worked so hard on his eyeliner before coming here and didn't want to smudge it by crying.
"It's alright," he said, then cleared his throat to keep his voice from shaking. "It was an honest mistake."
Jazz reappeared in the doorway then, with her little brother right behind her. Spike had seen the kid around school. He kept the company of one of the only other goth kids at Casper High, which was probably the only reason Spike had ever noticed him. He hadn't made the connection that this was Jazz's brother, though.
"Spike, right?" the boy said. "Danny. Nice to meet you." Without waiting for a response, he turned to look at his mother. "What's for dinner?" he asked.
Spike had been wondering that, too. He couldn't tell from the smell because it was overpowered by that other strange scent he still had yet to identify. He could swear he'd smelled it before, but he just couldn't place it.
"Spaghetti, Cobb salad, and garlic bread, and yes, you have to eat some salad before you leave the table," his mother replied. A timer dinged and she turned off the stove burner and put on a pair of oven mitts that were on the counter. "Danny, would you let your father know dinner's ready?"
Danny walked across the kitchen and opened a door on the far wall. Behind it was a dark, sloped hallway and some stairs, probably down to a basement.
"Dad! Dinner!" Danny called down before closing the door and walking back to take a seat at the table.
Jazz, mercifully, hung her jacket on the back of the chair to Spike's right to claim that seat. Then she went to help her mother transfer the food onto serving dishes. While the two of them started to put the food on the table, the building started to shake.
Spike grabbed the table, surprised. Was this an earthquake?
The basement door burst open, and Spike's eyes blew wide as he saw a gigantic man enter the kitchen. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit and a beaming smile that was actually strikingly like Jazz's. This must have been her father. She could have warned him that the man was a friggin' giant.
"Did I hear something about dinner?" His voice boomed, though it didn't seem like he was trying to be loud, more like he was just naturally big and imposing in every way.
"Yes, Jack, now take a seat," Mrs. Fenton told him. "Jack, that's Spike, Jazz's partner. You remembered he was coming over today, right?"
"I did not," Mr. Fenton said plainly, taking the seat on Spike's left. "It's nice to meet you, son!"
"He's non-binary, Jack," Maddie corrected gently. "He probably doesn't want to be called son."
It was true that, from a gender standpoint, son was not Spike's favorite word, but with the amount of affection Mr. Fenton had said it with, he actually didn't mind.
"Whoops, my mistake!" Mr. Fenton said. "It's nice to meet you, kiddo!" he turned to his wife. "Is that better?"
Spike tried not to get too choked up. "Yeah, thanks," he said, wondering if the Fentons could just adopt him now, or if that would be too awkward, since he was dating their daughter.
Everything was put on the table, and Jazz and her mom sat down in the remaining seats, Jazz to Spike's right, and Mrs. Fenton to her husband's left. Then the serving dishes were passed around the table so everyone could scoop themselves some spaghetti and take a slice of garlic bread and some salad (not very much salad in Danny or Mr. Fenton's case).
This part of dinner had little talking, except to ask for the salt or garlic bread to be passed. But once everyone had food in front of them, the conversation—the scary part of dinner with your girlfriend's parents—began in earnest.
"So, Spike, was it?"
Spike nodded at Mr. Fenton's question.
"What's your opinion about ghosts?"
"Dad!" Jazz whined. "Do we have to talk about ghosts at the dinner table?"
"What? It's just a question!" Mr. Fenton defended. "What else am I going to ask about?"
Jazz leaned over to Spike and shook her head. "You can ignore that. Ghosts are not a topic of conversation we have to engage with."
"No, it's fine," Spike said.
He really didn't understand why she was acting like this. They lived in Amity Park, so ghosts were a pretty common topic of conversation. When they attacked the town almost every day, that did tend to make people talk about them.
"Alright," Jazz said, as though he'd just insisted on going skydiving without any training, rather than having a conversation about current events. "If you're sure."
"Uh... I guess I'm neutral about ghosts," Spike answered finally, suddenly very unconfident in his decision to engage. He had thought ghosts would be a relatively safe topic, but he was definitely second guessing himself now. Were the Fentons some kind of ghost fanatics? "I wish they'd stop attacking our school so much, because it's really disruptive, but other than that, I don't really care one way or another."
"Disruptive, huh?" Mrs. Fenton repeated. "Yes, I'd say that's a perfect word for what ghosts are."
"Yes, although, I'll say if they were attacking my school all the time, I wouldn't exactly be neutral," Mr. Fenton agreed. "I'd want them gone."
"You want them gone anyway," Danny pointed out, rolling his eyes as he poked at his spaghetti.
This was, evidently, not the first time they'd heard all this.
Spike leaned over to his girlfriend and whispered, "Did I miss something? What's your parents' deal about ghosts?"
She turned to look at him with wide-eyed shock on her face. "Oh no," she whispered back. "Don't tell me you somehow didn't know? Everyone knows."
"Know what?"
"My parents are ghost hunters," she told him under her breath. "I thought you would have seen them making fools of themselves all over town, I didn't think there was anyone in Amity Park who didn't know, or I would have warned you."
"Oh."
Oh.
So her parents were fanatics, and he'd just decided to play hopscotch in a minefield. Great. At least that explained the weird stains, magazine, and anachronistic technology. And the smell. Now that Spike knew, that acrid smell was unmistakably ectoplasm, and if they were ghost hunters, it was no wonder that smell got stronger the closer he was to the basement where Mrs. Fenton had said the lab was.
How are you gonna worm your way out of this one, Spike? he wondered to himself.
What were his options?
First, he could keep trying to hold a conversation about ghosts with two people who A) knew way way way more about ghosts than he did, B) were way more passionate about ghosts that he was, and C) appeared to be very intense in their opinions on ghosts and would no doubt try to make him feel the same way they did. That sounded awful, but as long as he let them lead the conversation he could probably come out of it without looking like a bad person or a bad partner for their daughter.
Another option was attempting to change the topic, but that would require coming up with a new topic to talk about, and depending on the depths of the Fentons ghost fixation, there was a solid chance they'd find a way to bring the conversation back around to ghosts anyway. If they did that, he'd have to come up with another new topic of conversation, and that loop could continue until the end of the night when he could finally leave. He wasn't sure how fast he would have to cycle through conversation topics, and his mind was already blanking trying to come up with just one.
His final option was to fake some kind of emergency and run, but that would almost certainly lower the Fentons opinion of him, so he would rather put that in his back pocket and use it only as a last resort.
In his silence while Spike considered the best course of action, the Fenton parents had continued talking about the danger ghosts represented for the town's schoolchildren, and how they should really be taking much more thorough precautions than just installing ecto-detector proximity alarms.
First and foremost, Spike's goal for this dinner was to get Jazz's parents to like him. No matter how much he dreaded it, he knew which of the options for conversation would put him in the best standing with them. He only hoped Jazz could forgive him.
"So, you guys are ghost hunters," Spike began. "Have you met a lot of ghosts, then? What would you say the most dangerous ghost you ever fought was?"
Jazz turned to him with betrayal written all over her face. He knew that she hated talking about ghosts, and she obviously hated listening to her parents talk about ghosts even more, but if he wanted to get in good with her family, sacrifices had to be made.
Immediately, Mr and Mrs. Fenton started debating who the most powerful ghost they'd ever fought was. Mrs. Fenton said that it was, without a doubt, some ghost called Pariah Dark, although Mr. Fenton argued that they hadn't so much fought Pariah Dark as held him off. He seemed to be of the opinion that the most dangerous ghost they'd ever fought was Danny Phantom, who had—according to rumors, anyway—been the one who actually beat Pariah Dark.
Beneath the din, Spike leaned over to whisper an apology to his girlfriend.
"I'm sorry, I just really want them to like me, please don't be mad."
Jazz's look of betrayal twisted into a conspiratorial smile. "You sly bastard," she said fondly. "That's actually pretty clever."
"Danny Phantom never pulled the entire city into the Ghost Zone," Mrs. Fenton reminded pointedly.
"Just because he hasn't doesn't mean he couldn't!" Mr. Fenton argued.
That went on for a while until Danny huffed in annoyance and decided to put an end to it.
"Why don't you just tell him about both ghosts?" he suggested.
Spike wished that Danny had specified not to do so simultaneously, because what he got was a double-barrelled lecture on the most dangerous ghosts they'd ever talked. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fenton trying to talk over each other, neither of them pausing to let the other be heard, getting progressively louder and louder, even though Spike had poor audio processing abilities and didn't register a single word they were saying.
Finally, their explanations came to an end, and Spike nodded and tried to look impressed, even though he had absolutely no idea what either of them had said about either ghost.
"Wow," he said, it seemed like a safe response. "Sounds like you guys have had a lot of... uh... intense ghost fights?" he glanced at Jazz, who nodded encouragingly. "I bet there were some easy ones, too, though. Who's the weakest ghost you ever fought.
"Oh, the Box Ghost," both Fenton Parents, and, surprisingly, Danny, said simultaneously.
Spike had been hoping that question would carry the conversation a little longer, but he should have known better. Even he knew who the Box Ghost was, a total joke that didn't present a legitimate threat to anyone.
"Of course, I should have known," he said.
"You kinda should have," Jazz teased.
"Okay, well... how do you... I mean... what do you do with the ghosts, after you fight them?" Spike asked. Maybe that question would keep them talking longer than the last.
"We capture them, of course," Mr. Fenton said, which didn't bode well for Spike's time consuming endeavors.
"Then what?"
"We take them to the lab for study," Mrs. Fenton said.
"How do you do that?" That was it. If Spike could just keep asking follow up questions he could make it to the end of the night.
Mrs. Fenton began to describe her scientific process. It was kind of gross, but a little bit interesting. She finished with, "Unfortunately, I don't get to actually do that very often. Somehow the ghosts we capture end up escaping through the Fenton Portal. We keep increasing and overhauling the security systems in our containment chambers, but there must be some flaw we haven't found yet."
"At least they're escaping to the Ghost Zone and not into town to cause more trouble," Danny pointed out.
"I suppose that's true," Mrs. Fenton agreed. "It could be worse."
Eventually, everyone finished eating, and dinner did end. Mrs. Fenton invited Spike to stay for fudge. He said no, since it was getting very late and he didn't want to miss his curfew, but agreed to take a little box of fudge with him when she pressed. He didn't want to make her think he didn't like her cooking—although when he ate a piece at home later, he was sure that her fudge was way better than her spaghetti had been.
Jazz walked him out so they could say goodbye.
"You played them like a fiddle," Jazz said, beaming with pride. "I think they love you more than me after that dinner." She laughed. "And you were worried you'd mess everything up."
"Oh yeah, I was worried the whole time," he agreed. "But you were right. Everything went fine. You're always right."
"And don't you forget it," she said.
Spike leaned down to give her a quick goodbye kiss, taking her hands into his own.
"Thanks for having me over," he said. "Your parents are good people, even if they are obsessed with ghosts."
"I told you."
"Yeah, yeah," he huffed a quiet laugh of his own. "You always do."
"See you at school tomorrow," she said. "I love you."
"Yeah, I love you, too." Then he let her hands slip out of his and walked down the steps, waving goodbye.
He was not looking forward to returning to his own empty, aloof home, and his own cold, judgemental parents. One more year. Less than a year. Ten months, three weeks, and two days. Then he would be eighteen, and he could leave that awful house and live alone—or with Jazz, if she agreed. He didn't expect her to, but he could hope.

Hiii!! No worries! Not sure if it helps but I'll try to elaborate more for Mihawk & Crocodile! May we can do like their thought process on the matter (like did they wrestle with the thought pursuing reader as more than friends), when they realized "yes, this is a good idea and I'm going to do it despite the risk," and how they asked the reader out! I imagine Mihawk planned an entire day of festivities leading up to a fancy dinner but not sure how crocodile would go about it 😅) I hope that helps!!!
hi anon, it took me a while to get back into the headspace for this prompt, but i’ve finally got a second wind for it!! sorry it took so long even though we were really excited for it at the start (シ. .)シ(シ. .)シ
to anyone unaware, this is a continuation to these headcanons, you can read them for a little more context but it's not necessary! (tagging @citrusteaa for the mihawk content 💕)
Confessing to a longstanding crush (Crocodile, Mihawk)

Crocodile
Crocodile doesn’t so much willingly think about confessing as it’s a passive, radiating thought in the back of his mind that he just can’t shake, an itch that drives him up the wall but can’t scratch because if he does, he opens himself up to vulnerability and reckoning what these feelings actually mean
He wants you to be his, acknowledging your power (not necessarily physical) and what you bring to his life, lavish you in all the riches he can steal, he wants you to be loyal to only his side and him to you, Croc’s selfish like that
But also wants you to be aware of what being his partner entails - both his eccentricities and the inherent dangers of being in close proximity to him from outside threats - not that anyone would be able to lay a hand on you with him around, anyway
Crocodile wouldn’t want to bring out too much fanfare, yes he’s flaunted wealth and opulence before but this is a personal matter far more important than any crowned jewel he’s even wretched from some spoiled silver-spoon asshole, so it’d potentially be after a mission with him
He’d leave you to settle into your hotel room but expect you to join him for dinner, no other warning than that, then quietly but firmly ask for your answer after you two had finished your meals, only loud enough for you to hear in the mild buzz of this sophisticated restaurant
Crocodile doesn’t consider rejection as an option, he’s in far too deep now, clawed far too much into the soft, weak underbelly of his heart to even consider saying these words out loud to you to think of what would become of everything if you didn’t return these godforsaken feelings
Given that you do accept them, he lets out a breath that he curses holding, slow and undetectable, but you see him visibly relax a bit regardless - he shows you his hand and you’re immediately familiar with the gesture, you take it and you kiss the ringed knuckles presented to you
Loyalty to him and him alone
Crocodile moves it to briefly, ever so briefly, brush his thumb against your cheek afterwards; a promise for a future to come
Mihawk
It’s definitely something he mulls over a lot, from the moment he realized his feelings for you Mihawk knew that this was a potential avenue for him but just didn’t want to take the plunge quiet yet and ruin what he had with you
He does plan festivities, but sparsed out over the course of an entire week to make sure that your mood and the conditions for his confession would be demonstrably in his favor
Mihawk isn’t as much of a neurotic stress ball as someone like Law to agonize over every single detail until he’s about ready to collapse from overthinking, but he does worry at least a little bit about what he’d do if you didn’t reciprocate his feelings - he doesn’t allow himself to dwell on those thoughts, though
The activities chosen are all very domestic, things you would’ve done on your visits to his castle anyway but deliberately planned one after another so that familiar, comfortable feeling would remain fresh in your mind and heart
So it’s a week of gardening, cooking together, sparring, basking in the comfort of each other’s presences while you did your own separate things in the same space (his grand living room) and taking a trip to the farmer’s market to sell the veggies of his (and your) labor
On the last day, after you help him pack up his stall and get on his dramatic little candle-lit boat to return to Kuraigana island, he asks you to stay for dinner after you both freshened up - him doing all the cooking this time was non-negotiable, however
You agreed on the condition that you would take care of it next time and Mihawk doesn’t express the flutter his heart makes at the notion of you still coming around after his confession, be it as a friend or something more
The food tastes wonderful and is beautifully made, even you can’t deny the appeal of this man sitting down at the table with his rolled up sleeves and hair pushed back after hours in the kitchen, yet still so eager (in his own way) to spend time with you - most of all Mihawk’s pleased to see you happy
He asks you a few leading questions as the two of you clean up together, about if you remember how you’d met him or your opinion of him then and now, eventually leading to if you’d be interested in trying for something more while he washed the dishes and you dried them
Mihawk hoped for success, but the way you threw your arms around him with enough force to knock any lesser man on his ass caught him off guard to say the least - he takes your response as a resounding, ‘yes’

As a more light and fluffy request, I would love your perspective on Hades, Captain Hook, and the Horned Kings flirting styles <3
Beeeeeeeee this is so cute I can't 🥰
Bring on the fluff I'm blushing as I write this, hope you enjoy!
Flirting Styles for:
Hades
Babble. Just absolute babble.
Hades's excitement at the prospect of spending even a minute in your company expresses itself in an unruly pink tinted flame and verbal word spout. Do the words even make sense? No. Is he laughing at his own jokes and experiencing Instant Regret at not thinking this through? Oh, yes.
He can't exactly do flowers ok?! And people react weird to gems and precious metals being used instead (he does Not want a repeat of being thought to buy peoples company, especially not you.) He can make things from smoke but they aren't permanent -
He can learn your favourite places (yay, stalking? Uh-) or try and get you somewhere romantic, but is it romantic of him to basically coerce you there?? Titans Help Him he's overthinking this.
If by now you're not scared off then he *might* be able to get his head screwed on enough to actually try flirting properly.
Puns. Puns and touch. Aphrodite smite him if you can't gel with the corny baseline of his personality this is a lost cause -
Oh - oh - you're laughing? At him? With him? You're not moving away? Is that a blush?!?
HA he's still got it! C'mon babe, let's keep it coming~
Captain Hook
I'm sorry did you ask for the most gentlemanly gent to ever gentle in your presence?
Dashing, charming, chivalrous - hand kisses and acts of service abound.
Do you need an escort? Of course you do- let him accompany you! SMEE! Get the bags!
So many terms of endearment - 'my dear' being chief among them.
He's going to bow and whisk off his hat every time he sees you, this dramatic bastard.
He would try letters and poetry but honestly none would make it out if his cabin as he feels it's doesn't convey his feelings enough. If you ever find the stash hidden away in his desk you're going to get one hell of a blush and one very panic striken Hook.
WILL defend your honour, start swordfights in the streets just to show off his skill and wink at you mid combat.
Hand holding/physical affection is the next level up ok, that's when it gets serious.
The Horned King
What IS flirting??
What do you mean standing ominously in a room with his crush isn't communicating his feelings??
Very tempted just to kidnap you and call it a day.
He's observant and very good at blending in with the background. He will remember practically everything you've ever said or done, and call upon that knowledge to - hesitantly - start a conversation.
The King's love language is quality time. Simply spending time with you is enough for him, which makes moving things along a bit more uncertain.
Like Hades, flowers and greenery wilt in his presence, and he's well aware of what he looks like so he refrains from initiating touch.
He couldn't stand seeing the disgust on your face if he tried
Will offer to torture or kill your enemies if you have any. If not then well he's stumped.
This man does what he wants when he wants. A clear sign of his respect and interest is that he will abide by your boundaries as if they were laws. Those that don't do the same in his presence will receive broken bones at minimum.
Will teach the gwythents that you are off limits. Oh you, you want to pet the gwythents? Give him a month and you'll be riding them.
Once he has some confidence that this is indeed, mutual interest, he becomes much more verbal.
He's another one to use 'my dear', though you may find him slipping into ancient Welsh when he thinks you can't hear him.
If you express interest, will offer to teach you said ancient Welsh.
Now he's in deep.

I saw someone mention before that Tsukasa is very forgetful. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but do you think there’s something more to it than that? In the most recent event, he doesn’t remember Mafuyu’s name (yes they’ve only met once before, but Rui remembered). This is just the newest example. In the main story, he forgot his reason for wanting to be a star. In the doll house event, Saki mentions that she knows he’s forgetful, which is kind of how their argument started in the first place, etc. Is it a consistent theme with him or am I overthinking? If so, do you think it means anything? I feel like it’s somehow connected to the Sekai too, but I’m not sure…
I mentioned it briefly in my Wonderland SEKAI lorepost that it seems that he may have repressed some stuff from childhood, which checks out considering what his childhood was like. Like the SEKAI managed to manifest despite him not actually being able to remember or be consciously aware of the thing that formed it, compared to every other unit where the owner(s) 100% knew about what made their SEKAI. And then he remembers everything later on in the story because of Saki's childhood plushie. Which doesn't sound right? I'm not a psych student or anything though so I'm running off google for that. However there's a good chance the whole Wonderland SEKAI formation may just be fantasy psychology like they never followed up on it so at this point I kinda doubt the significance of it?
All that said yes he is canonically forgetful lol.

Hi, I absolutely love this project and all the ideas but may I suggest an addition? I've seen a lot of posts trying to help people to comment, with the dos and don'ts, different ways to comment etc. but I have never seen a post on how to reply to comments as an author. Yet I've seen a lot of authors express that they don't actually really know how to reply or feel insecure about it.
So if we want to foster a fandom space that's more about community and less about content creators and consumers, maybe some resources about replying to comments might also help?
Ooh, yes. There are a few scenarios that come to mind where I commonly struggle in replying to comments:
just as a story that stirred up a tornado of amazing emotions makes a comment difficult to compose, a COMMENT that stirred up a tornado of amazing emotions makes a reply equally difficult!! how to express the jumbled joy and gratitude and excitement and and and
i find myself tone matching the comment? or trying to? only if the comment has a tone or style that i feel awkward utilizing, i'm afraid that awkwardness is coming across, and not in a charming way (ditto for feeling self-conscious if my reply is longer that the original comment. which... makes no sense?? it's like i'm afraid of coming across as desperate or something and i'm trying to play it chill 😂 THIS MIGHT JUST BE ME. I TEND TO OVERTHINK THINGS)
it's a WIP and i feel guilty for not updating in awhile, so my avoidant personality quirks hamstring my ability to reply... it's like i feel undeserving of the kindness? or like i use the comment to bargain with myself--go make progress on the WIP and then you can mention that in your reply!!--and then i fail to make progress and the bargain falls apart 😅
as a writer, i feel bad if my replies to different comments sound too similar. as though similarity = insincerity. OR like when you're drafting and you're like OH NO can't use that particular word/phrase because i just used it in a recent paragraph and surely others will notice the awk repetition and deem me clunky 🙃
very rarely, there are comments that make me feel shitty, often through some thoughtless phrasing (I truly don't think any of them intended to hurt my feelings), and so I'm left in the strange position of wanting to defend myself/my fic while wanting to avoid confrontation because i hate confrontation while wanting the commenter to be aware of how they might word things more sensitively in future while fearing i might alienate a reader when i need readers to LIVE 😭
Looking back on this list, it's very possible these are all manifestations of my very particular quirks and idiosyncrasies and whatnot, but it's also possible others are struggling in similar ways so I'm gonna post it anyway.
Any other aspects of replying to comments that writers struggle with? Any tips or tricks for how to reply to comments in a way that fosters community?
I'll start working on my own list of how I navigate the issues described above. Because I DO reply to comments and think it's so important for nurturing fandom life and inviting goodness into your own life.
Not to be too sappy but one of my best friends started out as a rambling raving commenter. One of those every chapter rambling raving commenters (the GOOD STUFF 🤌🏻), and I replied in kind, and then he found me on tumblr, and fast forward just shy of a year and he's one of my top precious people.
Posting fic, reading someone's fic, commenting, replying to comments -- all of these are weirdly intimate acts, in a way. Hence the awkwardness? Depending on the fic, it's like "hello, this is the product of my brain and my fingers touching the keys, and i may or may not have poured my heart and soul into it." and commenters who may or may not detect such things sometimes have the wherewithal to reply, "it was beautiful. wonderful. i loved it." and then what do you say? "thank you" doesn't feel adequate at all. AT ALL.

WOW. I JUST. I JUST REALLY LOVE YOUR ANALYSIS AND THEORIES DON'T EVER STOP PLEASE. I LOVE THE STRUCTURE OF YOUR EXPLANATIONS.
In the chaos of the wait, there is someone to accompany me through a journey of madness with Alien Stage. Haha.
*insert meme of cat with wine*
I wonder what does Till think about Ivan. Now that Mizi is missing, and he seems to have completely lost himself and a reason to pursue forward,I couldn't help but ask myself: "Does he feel like he's condemned to die because of his guilt towards Ivan too? Does he feel like this or l'm just overthinking?" What if there's a retrospective we don't know about in which Till thinks Ivan didn't escape because of HIM and,now that Mizi isn't there,he's not torn about lvan anymore and what to do if he ever had to compete against him? Was he going to be conflicted in the first place? Like: "I have nothing,l lost my last hope. I may just die now rather than make my friend being killed. Is this the right thing? Why it had to be this way from the beginning, suffering because of the aliens? What am I? Why do I have to remember those things? What am I doing this for? I just wanted to survive and love Mizi"
Like we all know, thanks to the community posts,we see him have a certain dynamic with Ivan,in which they interact joking or bickering, and this strengthens a type of attachment he cannot deny. So,in the ROUND CURE we'll see Till (or Ivan) remember their past and we'll get to know more about their story with the progression of the actual one. (Ivan indeed didn't escape to stay with him,but Till doesn't know about lvan feelings,he may have been supposing all this time that he didn't made it or he just followed him back for some strange reason) I'm uncertain if they remember about seeing each other in the laboratories, through all the trauma...
l just hope that Till and Ivan don't succumb. What if lvan encourages Till to fight again unlike Luka with Mizi. What will Ivan do to try to protect Till?
Sometimes I suspect Vivinos like to play with us. Not just our feelings. WE ARE HERE JUST TO SUFFER.
THE HEARTBEATS IN THE TEASER MAKE ME FEEL SO NERVOUS HELP.
I just know that Till looks so broken and... he may have had a breakdown at this point. He has dark circles under his eyes and it's clear he has not been sleeping. I wonder if the aliens drugged him or something. For the lenght of the hair: how much time has passed?! At least a month?
One more thing I noticed,is that Till doesn't seem to have that sort of IV tube they used to sedate him like on stage in ROUND 2.
And in Hyuna's song, around the end,a security guard writes something in the sand. I don't think they'll be discovered for this but I'm really nervous.
Anyway,l really enjoy my time on your beautiful page! 🫂 Oh,please! Don't think you write stupid things, because your ideas and perspective are interesting and well put. I really like how you express yourself!
Have a nice day!! (and sorry for any mistake)
AH?!!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! tears in my eyes...
Yes!!! I shall accompany you through the madness. In fact I carry the madness in myself as well. If my yelling and flood of posts are anything to go by.
ALSO. WOW. That's genuinely so heartbreaking. Till having guilt isn't talked about often but it's very plausible that he'll be feeling it tenfold during this round. It's his fault, after all, that they're still here. Now that Mizi, the whole reason he stayed, is gone too, what was all of it for? He doomed himself and Ivan for nothing. You're right. He seems hopeless. I can definitely feel Till in those words, and it's so sad to think about how his thoughts could devolve to that point. He seemed so determined, so bright and dynamic at the beginning during ROUND 2. Now he seems so empty. Ivan and Till are definitely much closer than the both of them let on, there's no way they were just "fine". I think Till does hold fondness for Ivan, maybe even a little aware of his feelings (I don't think he knows what extent though, not sure he knows that Ivan's world literally revolves around him). What I'm sure of is that Till isn't as indifferent to Ivan as he might seem. Ivan is incredibly important to him too, and he has to come to terms with all of the guilt and feelings that were previously buried under his love and fixation for Mizi.
Oh... If Ivan spent most of ROUND 6 encouraging Till to fight I would be HEARTBROKEN. I remember one of the most common theories in the beginning was that Ivan would refuse to fight so that Till could win, and maybe Till would try and convince Ivan to fight. It's really interesting to see that the opposite might be true instead! And yes, VIVINOS LOVES to play with our feelings! It's their specialty.
Haha, Till's always had horrible eyebags! He apparently only gets less than 5 hours of sleep per day, and he's an incredibly light sleeper. Despite his eyebags though, Till always possessed such a large amount of energy. He had a lot of fight in him. You're right though, now he just seems exhausted. He's definitely been spiralling down into some very dooming thoughts. I wonder how much time has passed too...
An IV tube? I believe that's just his leash (just to make sure he's constantly restrained), but wow, thinking of it as an IV tube has some very horrifying implications. If they tried to sedate him, it definitely didn't work well HAHAH (RIP Freddie).
I thought the security guard writing in the sand was just a fun little visual gag, but if it's actually used to track down Mizi and Hyuna, oh shit. Improved security, after all. This isn't gonna be easy for them.
Thank you so much for enjoying my blog!! It means a lot to me, seriously. I might cry receiving all these nice notes and messages. Don't worry about any mistakes, by the way! You're quite a well-put writer yourself! :) Thank you for expressing yourself to me as well! I appreciate sharing all these ideas and hearing about new ones! I hope you have a great day too! ^^

QUICK A/N: This chapter is meant to be short so I promise I didn't try to rush this. Part 2 will definitely be longer
He's suddenly been on my mind so don't ask 🫣 I don't see that many fics about him anyway so
WORTH THE RISK
Tumblr media
Blue Jones x Reader
-------------------------
Summary: You been in a secret relationship with Blue and every moment spent with each other is precious time. This time, you come to him with one little problem..
--------------------------
Tags/Warnings: Established secret relationship, mild angst, some NSFW but no sex is involved, just Blue being a naughty naughty man | 18+ EXPLICIT
------------------------------------------
You been watching him perform on stage. His charismatic energy, his talent, and just how captivating Mr. Blue Jones is. For a while now, you two have had quite the connection. But no one can know. Why? Think about it, the risk of losing your career. The risk of your friends knowing. Who knows what could happen?
There's also so much mystery to this man. You often wonder what goes on in his head. Wondering what his intentions may be. If this relationship is even worth the risk.
But no matter what, Blue is all you think about. And you don't even know why. What is it about him that is so important to you? Who even knows? You feel as if this isn't gonna last forever.
But no matter, you have more important things to worry about. Overthinking isn't one of them.
Looking at your mirror reflection, hearing the muffled music blaring outside the dressing room. Sighing deeply, you check everything to see if you're ready to go out there. Then you hear a knock. "May I come in?" A voice says from the other side of the door, a familiar one at that.
Could it be Blue? "Yeah, sure!" You respond, loudly enough. The door opens and you see Blue walk in. You knew it. "Hey. I just wanted to come in and check on you. Everything okay, darlin'?" He asks, coming over towards you. You nod yes in response.
Looking down at the floor, then looking back at your reflection. The truth is, you weren't really feeling your best. But you don't want to let him know that.
"You sure, love? I can tell by the look on your face that something's wrong. You know you can tell me anything." Blue said. He puts his hand on your shoulder, gently rubbing it. Looking at the mirror reflection with you, admiring how beautiful he knows you are. But also, being worried about how you're feeling.
"I promise Blue, I'm fine. I was just lost in thought." You respond, voice sounding subtly shaky. Did that come off as not sounding fine?
Blue sighs. "There's no need to hide from me. Please, tell me what's wrong."
You push his hand off your shoulder and walk away from the mirror. "I'm worried about us. Should we even be doing this? Why do we have to keep hiding? I don't know if this little secret of ours is gonna stay as a secret. I don't even know if you even actually love me." Tears well up in your eyes. You turn around to face him.
"I'm just worried, Blue. I'm sorry." Your voice starts to break, stifling your crying. Now he knows.
"Now what makes you think that? You don't think that I love you?" He walks over to you and caresses your cheek, wiping away your tears with his thumb. "You mean everything to me. I'm sorry if I haven't been there enough for you. I always want to make time for you. I love you. Very much, darling."
"You promise you don't have any bad intentions with me?" You ask.
"Only nothing but good. I wouldn't even dare try to hurt you. But I have to ask, do you trust me?" Blue asks in return.
You take a breath, calming down your crying. His dark brown eyes, looking at yours reassuringly. You want to trust Blue, you really do. You don't want to let your guard down but at the same time, he done nothing to break your trust. At least not that you're aware of.
If he has trust in you, then it would only be fair if you return that trust in him. "Yes, Blue. I trust you. I promise to keep my trust in you as you keep your trust in me."
A tender smile forms on Blue's face. "That's my girl." He praises. He plants a short and sweet kiss on your lips. You can't help but feel so in love with him. You don't know how he does it but he got such an effect on you.
"I'm hoping one day we don't have to keep this all a secret." You say after he pulls away.
"I hope so too. But I don't mind it. Because that means I can have you all to myself." He puts his arms around your waist and pulls you in closer to him.
"No need to cry, okay? I'm here." Blue whispers. You nod your head yes, glancing down then back into his eyes. His presence, his touch, and words felt reassuring.
You sniffle, wiping away the last few tears from your eyes. You take a deep breath, calming down. Something about Blue just keeps you grounded. Is it his reassuring words? His love and devotion to you? Regardless of what it may be, he is making you feel at peace.
But then, you start to notice more things about Blue. His looks was one of the many things that made you fall for him. Aside from his suave nature, his talent, his charisma, and many other things. You admire how handsome he is.
Not like you haven't before, you always have. But this time, it's more than ever.
Looking into his eyes, noticing the seductive look he often has in them. Without even trying. Without even doing anything.
Wrapping your arms around his shoulders, having some naughty thoughts about him. How are you willing to communicate that? You thought "I'll show him how much I want him right now."
You then start to look at his lips. Suddenly craving him. Without even saying anything, you go in for a kiss, this time more longer and more passionate. You feel Blue's hands roaming across your body. Tongues touching each other. Having him gently tug your bottom lip with his teeth.
"You're mine. And only mine, you hear?" Blue says in between kisses.
"I want you, Blue. Take me." You tell him, barely catching your breath. "I need you, so bad."
He takes notice of how needy you became for him. Seeing you in such a state. He couldn't help but be so turned on. "Take off your top." Blue commands.
You follow his order and you take it off. You toss your top to the side, to be surprised by the feeling of his lips on your neck. Kisses turning into soft bites. Moving closer down to your collar bone down to your breasts.
Sucking onto your skin, making you whimper at his touch. But you want more. You want him to ruin you.
You feel Blue's fingers intertwine with the back clip of your bra, seemingly trying to take it off. Then you hear it unclip. He pulls the straps down and drops your bra to the floor. Your bare chest, now exposed to him.
Blue gently squeezes your soft breasts, leaving hickeys on your neck. You let out a moan as he just completely ravishes you. Fingers in between your hard nipples. Making you whimper more and more underneath him.
"Fuck...Blue. Keep going." You want more. You can't help but become such a needy mess for him. You become his naughty girl, and only his.
You take notice of hard bulge in his pants. Feeling it so close to you. How bad you want it inside your wet, aching pussy. How badly he just turns you on.
Blue even noticed how wet you're becoming. He puts his hand under your skirt, touching the wet spot on your panties. Rubbing your clit through the fabric with his thumb. You gasp at the sudden touch down there.
Slow, circular motions against your throbbing clit. Your body is just begging to feel him inside you. "Already so wet, aren't you?" Blue asks, making eye contact with you. You're trying so hard not to squirm. He's just so good with his hands.
Then you both hear a knock on the door. "Shit!! I gotta go! Get dressed, now." Blue pulls away from you, picking back up your bra and your top from the floor.
You hurriedly get clothed, watching Blue exit the room. Wondering who knocked. Hopefully soon you and him can continue where you left off.
To be continued...
Replies and reblogs are very much appreciated!! Part 2 will be coming soon

okay let me finally show you my updated f/o list!! I am also planning to add some s/i info but tbh i still havent gotten to it cause im procrastinating it while trying to relax doing other stuff klsdksj here it is!! (I am aware that the first photos look weird in phones so pls bare with me and put it in pc mode lmaoo im a carrd super-beginner)
now if you'd let me, Imma talk a bit about the changes just because
I wanted to get a bit more specific mentioning platonic f/os so even if I like many characters in sources like Obey Me, you can now see which characters I think my s/i would be the closest with :D!! I also played a bit with labels ig but I read this fic where Mammon said there was no need "to be anything" as long as we were in peace with each other and I felt that on a spiritual lvl so instead of overthinking how to label f/os sometimes I just put him as unlabeled lol I just love self inserting in his world being really close to him and he's my fav character of the game and all but ig it becomes hard sometimes to try to fit that into something so I said whatever, it's my little self insert world and they can do whatever they want that brings me comfort XD yknow, sometimes partnering concepts just feel off but at the same time I enjoy saying I am a Mammon simp cause I love the character so it's a bit of a mess in my brain sometimes, trying to make both my experience as a player and my s/i's fit for my best comfort
Tumblr media
(yes this was another Mammon UR+ I did not get on Nightbringer)
talking about labels, I've decided to put all the Golden Deer as platonic soulmates :D! I think it suits us all and all the unique bonds they form with each other, and I thought that the whole thing of my s/i probably having this huge feeling of admiration and loyalty towards Claude felt better like this somehow, like it's a part of my s/i lore and not so much about what their relationship can be or not? I dont know if this makes sense worded like this but it seems to work out in my head XD I still plan to someday develop my s/i's story a lot so who knows
anyway, FRIENDS AND FAMILY!! I feel like it's pretty obvious that I've started to play Honkai Star Rail because suddenly I got a friend, a brother and a father from there- listen everytime I see the Astral Express Family written in the groupchat I emotionally cry happy tears (also I wouldnt be surprised if i ended up also f/oing Himeko in the future lmao, I love found families can you tell)
Tumblr media
from Genshin Impact I've officially added Thoma as a platonic f/o :D!! (my hearts craves to befriend kind characters, yes) I think my Genshin s/i is probably the one with the most lore right now so I'm excited to write about this in the future! well,,,,, actually my Super Mario Bros s/i also has some info around themselves already,,,,,, like would you believe me if I told you I was already making up s/i lore while still watching the movie,,,,, the self-shipper experience huh.....
Tumblr media
I love her
and do you know who I also love a lot.....?
those platonic f/os I've been mentioning in some reblogs lately saying I still havent talked about them......?
the dudes that may have taken over my brain recently using the power of friendship....?
yeah
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah
aren't they the coolest tho
anyway I love them (repeating it as if i hadnt made it clear already) and I had to rewrite part of this cause I accidentally deleted it it so I think I'll finish it here ksdhkjs I believe there is a bit more to see in the carrd though, I'll put it in my pinned post soon :D! now if you'd excuse me imma go consume more hypmic manga as a healing experience, if you've read until here go drink some water, listen to Break The Wall and thank me later

ꜰʀɪᴠᴏʟᴏᴜꜱ ʙᴀɴᴛᴇʀ (𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘦 𝘹 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳)
Tumblr media
So, this has been in my drafts for like a year. It's kind of a mix of my old-ish writing and my new writing so it's not very good but my friend said to post it so here I am. Please go easy on this one, I'm aware that it's not very well written.
Female reader! Happy reading :)
Warning: Murder, swearing and a very OOC Scaramouche ahahaha kill me.
Summary: The Balladeer is assigned another mission to retrieve information. Although, he is partnered with a very flirtatious woman.. :).
"You requested of my presence, your majesty?" Footsteps with occasional jingling entered the room, a male with purple hair and matching violet eyes came into sight before the throne.
His orbs were like violet grass, its colour gentle like a breeze on a dandelion. How could a person with such calming eyes have such ruthless hidden rage within them? Brutality only reflected off them, his strides until he reached the throne were with confidence. The golden patterns of his attire shined as if it had taken some of his confidence.
The Tsaritsa sat on the throne, her eyes were cold and sharpened like the tip of an iceberg. It was hard to believe such a cruel soul like hers was the archon of love as her heart was empty.
"Yes, you have a new mission to acquire information that is vital for future plans." She made a hand motion for someone to come forward, "Though, for this mission, you must go with one of my trusted allies. She has created fake identities for the both of you to get into the ball. Her name is [Y/N]."
A [H/C] haired female walked in the room, wearing a foreign type of attire, but she seemed laidback. She wore a black crop top, lace adorning the collar and the veil that fell down her shoulder, the lines of gold stitched multiple unique patterns that matched with her skirt. Her skirt having the same golden designs as her crop top, a slit on the side of her skirt showed off her lace-on boots as it just barely brushed against the cold floor.
Her lips tugged upwards into a smirk when she made eye-contact with him, giving him a small wave. Her [E/C] eyes flickered with amusement when she saw him narrow his eyes.
"So, I have to be working with this pretty boy?" She laughed, placing one hand on her hip, "Consider this mission done, Your Majesty or whatever they call you."
Her [E/c] seemed to have represent the definition of chaos, her tinkling laughter filled with what the normal person would identify as insanity. An inaudible sigh left the Cryo Archon, wondering if she did the right thing by letting [Y/N] accompany the easily angered Fatui Harbinger.
"You two may be dismissed." The Tsaritsa flicked her wrist, a gesture for them to leave immediately. Her eyes were trained on them, her voice monotonous and heartless. "Do not fail me."
"Ah, but of course." [Y/N] smiled at the Tsaritsa but something about it was off, a certain glint in her eyes made the Fatui Harbinger go dead silent. "You know I cannot afford to fail."
"Anyways, Balladeer, run along. We cannot let this mission wait." She began to walk back out the door, lifting her hand to crook two fingers at him to follow her without looking back. The heels of her boots clicked with each step, her veil by her shoulder fluttered with each movement.
"The fuck? Does she think I'm some sort of low life?" He grumbled under his breath, quickly walking beside her. Well, she seems close to the Tsaritsa, especially if she could talk to Her Highness in a casual manner. Obviously, she must exile in these fields. Though, is she an intellectual or fighter with exceptional skills? Or perhaps both?
"No, you're just overthinking too much." His breathing hitched when she heard him, not expecting a reply, "Don't hurt your pretty little head by worrying about nonsense when you've barely gotten any room to fit in anything in there."
"Are you assuming I lack intelligence? Because I can assure you that you're misplacing yourself with me," He smirked when he saw her face flinch in surprise for a split second before she quickly hid it away with rolling her eyes.
"Ha? Replace a pretty face like yours? Impossible." Her laughter echoed through the halls, her [E/C] orbs glimmering with mirth as she spoke.
"Taking part in your frivolous chats is bothersome. Do you ever shut up?" Scaramouche pressed two fingers to his temple, contemplating on whether he should choke himself or the female beside him.
"Why would I miss an opportunity to talk to a pretty boy like you?" She hummed, taking joy in how red the male's cheeks were.
"Don't call me pretty," He hissed, fixating a glare at her before his facial features shifted into a smirk. "The role suits you better."
"Ah, well. We're here now." She gestured towards the door, "I kept all the stuff we need for the mission here. Including the outfits, I've gotten for the fancy ball thing or whatever they call it." She twisted the doorknob open.
The room had white paint adorning the walls, gold patterning scattered across it. A circular rich brown rug in the centre of the room with a matching-coloured coffee table on top of it, both having the same gold patterning as the walls. Two smaller rooms on the left, with golden doorknobs.
It wasn't a room to awe over but he didn't complain, entering the room after her.
"Your clothes are in that bag along with your ID," She pointed to the bag on top of the table with a special designer symbol on it, "Also, I didn't know what fashion taste you had so I just picked what I thought suited you."
He only hummed in response, taking the bag into hand, and picking up the card that was on top of the clothes.
"Kaji Gushiken?" He questioned, reading the name out loud on the card.
"You're a rich guy that donates to orphanages and you're my husband," she said, picking up her own bag. "Well, until the mission ends anyways."
"So, I'm now the Mr. Nice guy," His face crinkled in disgust as he tossed the card back into the bag, "Weird name for a guy that's nice."
"True, considering how his first name literally means blaze," [Y/N] chuckled. "The name doesn't suit your face but your personality."
Ignoring her, he inquired. "So how are we going to get the information? I'm assuming it has to do with the identities."
"Catching on fast, love." She smiled at him, full of mischief. "Basically, since we cannot attract much attention during this mission. I've come up with a plan. Our target with the information has connections with these people but have never met as they've only communicated through letters, they were planning to meet soon for a fundraiser so why not give him a little surprise?"
"As in him finding out we stole back the information?" He raised his brows slightly, quite impressed.
"Of course," She hummed. "You seem impressed."
"Not that much, it's not much of a good plan anyway."
Before she could reply, he asked another question.
"What happened to the people whose identities we stole?" He asked, despite knowing the answer.
"Oh, them? I got rid of them."
"As expected," He spoke, his focus on the electricity dancing between his fingers although his gaze held little to no interest. Snapping out of whatever trance he was, he turned towards one of the changing rooms and picked up his bag of designer clothes, "I'm going to get ready, and you should as well."
Not waiting for a response, he shut the door behind him. The room was confined, plain white walls. On the wall, on the right there was a hook and in front, there was a tall mirror. He placed his hat on the hook, the bells jingling as he did so.
"Don't take too long, darling," [Y/N] said before entering the room next to his, "We must hurry and get this mission over and done with, regardless of how much I'd love to spend more time with you."
He bit back a laugh. "For once, we can agree on something, but remove the part of cherishing our time together. I'd rather bicker with Childe and work with him than go out with you, darling," The pet-name rolled off his tongue, lathered in poison with such ease. She could hear the sadistic smirk in his voice as he spoke.
"To get along? This is a mission; we are only tied by work not by your petty friendship."
"Friendship? You think I want to befriend you?" Another one of her laughs reached his eardrums with the same tinge of amusement. "My sweet, sweet Balladeer. I do not want to form such an acquainted bond with you, I would like to win over your heart."
Ha? Win over his heart? What a strange request, he thought. One half of him told him to ignore her but the other half of him was intrigued. It wouldn't hurt to have a little fun, would it?
"Win over my heart, you say? Why not. Give me your worst, doll."
This time he had no verbal response, a soft chuckle heard from the female, followed by the crinkling of plastic. Right, he should probably get dressed as well.
He took out the clothes out from the bag, cringing when the paper bag crinkled at his actions. The fabric was silky and soft to the touch, it almost slithered from his fingers.
Slipping out of his clothes, his nimble fingers had quickly dressed himself after, finally pulling on the gloves. The clothing was not too tight or too loose, how did she know of his size? Well, she was a designer of some sort. He turned to the mirror, adjusting the bottom of his suit as he did so. The collar of his suit was a deep purple that matched his gloves, the tie hanging off by the black gem in the middle of his neck, was a lighter shade of purple but not too light. By his shoulder blades were gold linings that shimmered even in the dim light of the room. The overall colour of his suit was a dark violet, with the occasional gold gem-like shapes stitched onto the fabric. Underneath his suit was a pitch-black bodysuit, the material thin yet comfortable. By the torso was golden patterns etched onto the fabric, leading up to the chest. The black leather boots had streaks of purple at the ends and were an exact fit. Everything was an exact fit. Did someone provide her with the measurements while she was designing? He thought, shaking his head. He didn't have time to ponder.
Well, at least she had good taste in clothing.
"Balladeer?" [Y/N] knocked on his door. "We must hurry so that I can tell you about the plan along the way."
Wordlessly, he pushed open the door.
He would be lying if he said she didn't look good because she looked very attractive. She wore the same colours as him. Her dress was pitch black with the casual streaks of purple, forming the occasional pattern on her abdomen. The hem of her dress would be brushing against her ankles if it weren't for the black leathered boots. The region by her shoulders and neck was graced with lace. By both sides of her hips was a layer of violet fabric, falling until the hem of the dress. Her gloves matched the violet fabric, the material seemed smooth and silky. Her hair fell freely down her shoulders, framing her face perfectly. At the side of her head was a flower pin a light purple with spirals of black complimenting it, similar to the charm on her necklace that hung by her neck.
"Someone's dressed up," His tone was teasing, a smirk crossing his face.
"You're not too bad yourself, pretty boy." She returned his smirk before waving her hand. A map of teleport waypoints hovered above her hand as she studied it, her eyes flickering from one waypoint to another.
"This one is closer."
He pointed towards one of the waypoint symbols while pressing his body against her back. It was slight, but the contact was there.
"Agreed, it is an easier path as well." She nodded, "Are you ready to go, darling?"
"Unfortunately."
Two fingers were snapped, and they stood upon a hill. Their shoes would have sunk into the snow if it weren't such a thin layer. The cool breeze caressed his face, as if a whisper of murder by his ears. The taste of death lingering on the tip of his tongue. It was ironic, all those years ago when he was abandoned by his master and was left to fend on his own. He knew nothing of the world back then, he was forced to learn it the hard way. So fragile and delicate, as if he were glasswork compared to his ruthlessness now. It was truly ironic that the thought of it made him swallow a dry laugh.
The Fatui organisation wasn't easy to be a part of. The first life taken away by your own hands is a memory that stays engraved into your head, every sound, every movement, and every detail. The Fatui required you to be utterly ruthless. To take life as if it were taking candy from a child. The scars from battles are etched onto your skin, a reminder of your reckless mistakes.
A tap on his shoulder brought him back to reality with another breeze of the wind.
"Pay attention, dear. We can't have you zoning out during the mission, can we now?" [Y/N] held a subtle smirk on her face as she spoke though, the teasing lilt to her voice made it obvious.
He shot her a glare and flicked her temple, prompting a noise of surprise from her as a soft pink tinted his cheeks subtly. It was subtle but [Y/N]'s eyes were sharp, immediately catching it.
"You're going to give me a headache, shut up."
"Flustered already, are we? What happened to all that talk earlier?" She caught his wrist before it returned to his side, in a tight hold, stepping closer until their chests were just barely touching. "Was that all bark and no bite? I'm quite disappointed, I was expecting more from you, Balladeer."
He held her chin, pulling her closer but her expression didn't differ, it only widened her smirk. Seconds felt like it was stretched to hours as they had the same glint in their eyes, waiting for a move from one another. As if they were in a game of chess, playing against each other. Tied, they were, trying to anticipate each other's next move.
"The mission isn't over, doll. I never thought you were the type to give up so easily," His chuckle full of mischief as their noses brushed against each other, his eyes like violet stones up close.
"I'm not a patient person. Don't keep me waiting, love."
"Oh? And what if I do?" He raised his eyebrow, mischief laced in his tone. "What will you do, doll?"
"Would you like to find out?"
Her smirk quickly faded as she pulled his wrist to duck behind the hill. To her surprise, he didn't argue. Waiting for a reply.
"By the pathway of behind the house there's 4 guards. Two to the left and two to the right." [Y/N] summoned her spear, spinning it with ease between her fingers. "Which side would you like to take, darling?"
"I really don't give a shit, doll."
"Wonderful attitude, dear. I'll be taking the left. Meet me in the stock room, I'll be the one retrieving the information."
She didn't wait for a reply, sprinting past him and off to the guards. She took in a short breath, electricity rushing through her veins as her spear swirled with anemo, a deep forest-like green coming to life.
"Hey, stop right-" The man fell to the ground, the tip of her spear intruding his ribcage and to his heart, leaving as fast as it came.
"How dare you!" The other guard spoke, thrusting his sword forward.
She stepped back to dodge his strike, grabbing his wrist to flip him over.
"Now, now, don't squirm otherwise it will be more painful." She placed her foot on his back as his body was sprawled on the floor, wrist in her hand. "If you value your life, inform me of where the owner of this household has kept information about the Tsaritsa."
"Never!"
"Oh? You're the stubborn type I see," She hummed as if she were thinking, twisting his wrist further. "It seems that I will have to take your life, hm?"
"N-no! Stop! Please! I-I'll tell you!" He begged, his tone annoyingly desperate.
[Y/N] clicked her tongue in satisfaction, loosening her grip. "Go on."
"A-at the second floor, the room furthest down the hall on the right." He blurted out, "From what I h-have heard, there is information about the Cryo Archon in one of the locked drawers of his desk. I-I don't know if it's exactly true, but please! Spare me! I gave you what you wanted!"
She hummed, helping the man up singlehandedly while smiling, "Thank you."
"Though, don't take this too personally, just doing my job." She lunged her spear into his chest without summoning her winds before the man could react. She narrowed her eyes as she watched him fall to the ground, her weapon dispersing into small gold glimmers until nothing was there. A sigh of disappointment left her, "How pathetic, at least I didn't dirty my dress. That would be a shame."
"The worst part of this job aside from the paperwork is hiding evidence, I swear." She muttered, grabbing a leg from each man to begin dragging.
"It's not like I have to deal with the aftermath, so it won't bother me if they find out after the event, hm?" Pausing for a moment, she spotted bushes near a tree, a little far from the house. "Aha, bingo."
         -----------------------------------------------------------------
"It seems that you took your time, love." She spoke, leaning against one of the crates of the stock room as Scaramouche climbed through the window.
"I literally just saw you coming through the window a few seconds before."
"Still earlier."
"Sure, doll." He narrowed his eyes, dusting off imaginary dust from his suit as he walked towards the door, "Shall we?"
"Oh? So, he does have manners?" She laughed before reaching up to him, "We shall."
She pressed her ear to the door while placing a finger on her lips, motioning him to stay silent. Hearing nothing, she twisted the doorknob to open the door a little, seeing through the small crack. Seeing no one, she gestured for him to come through while stepping out.
"Be ready to attack," She whispered. "There will be shit tons of guards, maybe."
"I don't think so," He whispered back. "This man is dumb enough to put only two fucking guards behind his house."
"Fair," She shrugged. "Let us find out."
Step by step as they proceeded down the hall, the chatter of guests began to get louder and louder. She put a hand to his chest, halting both of their movements before they went through the second hall.
"We can't take the short cut to the stairs here; there's guards and we cannot fight against them with the of risk of so many civilians watching." She said, speaking in a hushed tone.
Scaramouche peeked to see all the guests, spotting a staircase near the corner.
"We can go through the guests and through those stairs?" He whispered back. "But how will we get through when there's two guards right there down that hall?"
"People are stupid, don't worry. Come." She stepped forward, "We've to act like a couple though."
Narrowing his eyes, he offered her his elbow in which she gladly slid her arm around it.
Walking down the second hallway, the two guards quickly turned their heads at the noise of heels clicking rather loudly against the floor.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" One of them stepped forward, readying his own weapon.
"O-oh, sorry! I didn't mean to cause such a misunderstanding, sir." [Y/N] spoke hesitantly, displaying her now teary eyes as she gripped on Scaramouche's arm harder. "I just couldn't find the restroom is all."
As Scaramouche could neither curse at [Y/N] at the moment nor roll his eyes at her, he did it inside his head as he began to speak, going on with her little show.
"Don't apologise, darling. It's their fault for intimidating you and speaking in such a manner to you." He placed a soft kiss on her forehead before glaring at the guard, "Speak to my wife with respect, do you understand?"
"My apologies, sir." The guard bowed his head, shaken by the authority in Scaramouche's voice. "The restroom is near the refreshments table, miss."
"Thank you, good sir. We'll be off then." [Y/N] chirped with a smile, going pass them with Scaramouche.
"See? Told you they're total dumbasses." She laughed once they were by the crowd. "And you did a good job at being my husband, don't you think?"
He almost didn't reply, too busy scanning his surroundings. The walls were painted gold with black linings, a crystal-clear chandelier hanging from above. It glimmered as if it were made from diamonds, and it probably was. The tabletops were made out of pure marble, even a fool could tell. People were scattered everywhere, the smell of rich perfume wafting through the air.
"Whatever you say," He narrowed his eyes. "Where to next?"
She cocked her head towards the staircase, opposite of them in the right corner.
"Well, why not have a little fun before all the serious stuff, hm?" He asked, stepping in front of her.
"Fun?" She inquired with a perplexed face.
"May I have this dance, doll?" A familiar teasing smirk had made its way onto his face as he held out his gloved hand.
Her eyes widened a little, quite surprised at his actions. But who was she to complain?
"Of course, although, I must ask for something in return." She slipped her hand into his as he led her to where everyone was dancing, one hand on her waist while the other held hers.
"And what may that be?" He asked as she placed her hand on his shoulder, following his steps.
"Your heart."
"And what if I deny your request?"
A short chortle slipped by her as he spun her around then pulled her close to his chest.
"That surely would be a shame but," She leaned in closer, his face a breath away from hers. "Who said I'll give up?"
"I expected so from you." He chuckled, "After all, where's the fun without a little game?"
She hummed in response, locking gazes with him. She smiled; it wasn't a mischievous one. It was a genuine, sweet smile. One that he couldn't help but return, the corners of his lips quirking upwards ever so slightly. Their eyes full of mirth as they waltzed around, in their own little word, her dress flowing with grace with each spin. This time, neither spoke, blocking out the excited chatter of others and the clinking of wine glasses. Silence enveloping them, seconds stretching into hours.
"I hate to ruin the moment but," She sighed, once they were near the staircase. "We have a mission to finish."
This time, 3 guards stood there. Their faces stoic with black suits, hands behind their back.
The pair of criminals glanced at each other, matching smirks adorning their faces as he gave her one last spin.
"Ready to rack havoc, darling?" Dipping her slowly, his grip on her waist loosening teasingly.
"Sure," She chuckled, rising rather quickly. "Let us get this done fast, love. I do not take pleasure in slacking off."
"Of course."
Without another word, they built up their fake facades while nearing the guards. Chaos surely trailing after their footsteps.

Hi, I've seen your requests are open. This is my first request here, so exciting, and I hope I won't be a bother.
May I ask a fluffy fluff (with a little bit of "spice" , if you don't mind) with Yamato, please? Like how he tries to connect to his crush through his gardening skills, and his crush really likes him as well but both are too shy to do something...at first.
Thank you so much. Have an amazing day

A Day in the Garden | Yamato x Reader | SFW & slight NSFW
This is the cutest idea, you better believe I'm doing it. Thank you!! <3
Requests are open!
Warnings: Fluff, some spice, a handsy Yamato moment.
Tumblr media
In the most dramatic way possible, Yamato felt like he was dying.
Not because of the hot sun beating down or the hard work you two were putting into the vegetable garden, but because of you. Rather, his nerves were getting the best of him.
It felt like an innocent thing at the time when he offered to help you, after the garden was mentioned in a brief conversation between you two. Yamato had caught you just outside of a seed stand with everything you needed in hand, and rather than walking off without engaging with you, Yamato knew he needed to say something.
Alas, it was how Yamato found himself stumbling over his words and the odd garden tool laying around, as he was too engrossed in you and the way you took so much pride in your home-grown vegetables.
Yamato cleared his throat and grabbed some of the early plants you sprouted inside during the cooler months. He stood next to one of your raised beds and glanced between the two objects, unaware of how you wanted things done.
“Is this okay right here, y/n?”
Your attention shifted to Yamato at the sound of his voice, and you were quick to stand next to him. “Absolutely! Do you want me to show you how?”
Yamato gave you a sheepish nod and handed one of the small plants to you. “That would be great, thank you.”
Smiling all the while, you showed Yamato how big the hole should be, and how to carefully pull the plant out without destroying the delicate roots. Once you were patting the soil around the freshly transplanted tomato plant, your eyes returned to Yamato and his almost lost expression.
He was overthinking it, yes. But unbeknownst to you, Yamato’s heart was screaming for help.
A light colour scattered across his cheeks before you thought of something better. Truthfully, you were smitten with Yamato and his willingness to assist you with something you were so passionate about. You thought he was incredibly sweet, even if others didn’t always see that part of him.
“How about I dig the holes, and you place the plants inside?” You proposed with a raised brow, hoping to make the experience easier for Yamato.
Yamato chuckled lightly and rubbed his neck, somewhat embarrassed for not being a bigger green thumb, despite his earth-based abilities. “I would appreciate that very much.”
Happy to get started, you began digging the holes, pulling enough soil back for Yamato to have room for the small plants. He pulled them out of their containers gently, oh-so careful while doing it, and placed them in gingerly.
It was an innocent thing, truly, but Yamato couldn’t be more aware of how close you two were while it was happening. While your hands held the dirt in place, Yamato’s skin would be so close to yours to set the plants down that he could feel the heat radiating off of you.
The tantalizing proximity of your hands was enough to make Yamato’s heart clench and burn for more. You always had such a ground-breaking affect on him, sometimes to Yamato’s dismay.
Yamato was willing to do anything for you, even if it meant torturing himself in the meantime.
Yamato patted the soil around the plant like you had, and your smile widened for him. His eyes met yours, bashful about the whole affair.
“It’s perfect Yamato! You’ll be an expert in no time,” you beamed, and handed him the next one.
He reached for the container, suddenly very aware of how close you two were again. Yamato felt himself burning up, but he couldn’t move either. His gaze was locked on you, blown away by your simple, yet mesmerizing beauty.
He was drowning again.
Once Yamato snapped out of it with another blush creeping up his neck, he began with the next one.
By mid-afternoon, the garden was fully planted, and Yamato even used his water style to make sure everything got a healthy dose to keep them going. You were so impressed with Yamato’s work that you disappeared for a time and returned with two glasses of refreshing iced tea.
The two of you drank them heartily and chatted as you normally did, but Yamato could hardly keep his head above water while he took in the way your skin glistened beneath the hot sun, and how the slightest sheen of sweat appeared above your brow.
There was something so raw and genuinely gorgeous about the way you looked then, and Yamato struggled to keep it together.
Eventually, Yamato followed you into the garden shed with various tools in hand, and while inside, he gave each one to you, since you knew where they all went.
The air seemed thinner in the garden shed, or rather, Yamato couldn’t breathe in such a confined space with you, and you alone. His heart stammered the moment the thought reached his mind.
“You did amazing,” you praised Yamato, to which a dazed excitement travelled through his entire body.
Yamato felt himself come to life at that, buzzing with interest. Colour bloomed in his face, and he swallowed hard, startled by the sudden compliment that had the strangest affect on him.
He could hardly meet your eyes, and a bashful smile became of his lips. “It’s nothing, really,”
“Still, I appreciate it very much,” you murmured to the flustered Shinobi. His intense blush and rather reserved state was quite clear before you, and your curiosity piqued.
It became obvious then why Yamato volunteered himself for the day. It seemed your feelings were in the same place.
Your warm, angelic smile made Yamato feel like his heart was about to burst, and he gave his own nervous grin in return. Even worse, the stray hand that found his own would surely be the death of him.
“You’re a great help, Yamato. Thank you. I was working out how I could repay you, but I wasn’t sure what would be suitable,” you hummed as the space between you slowly diminished.
Yamato could’ve choked then. His blush was even more furious than before, and he was very aware of your flirtatious hand in his own. He chuckled anxiously. “N-no need, y/n. I don’t mind helping.”
“That’s a shame,” you teased him with those big eyes of yours, gazing at him innocently. “Because I thought of something that could work for both of us.”
Yamato froze in his place, so overwhelmed by the sight of you, and the tail end of your suggestive words. It was all too much for him.
The world came to a stop the moment your lips brushed against his own. Yamato had to triple check that he was still alive, and he didn’t hallucinate the entire exchange.
Yamato’s surprised sound didn’t go missed by you, and it only encouraged you to press deeper once he regained his bearings.
Your hand left his palm to sneak around his waist, and Yamato finally allowed himself to relax enough to kiss you back, more earnest with the initial fear removed from him.
You were so incredibly important to Yamato that he feared messing up, and he feared your rejection above all. Yet, with your lips on his, Yamato felt like he had everything he ever needed.
Yamato’s hum of approval was a beautiful thing, followed by the tentative movement of his hands across your back. He held you gently, fearing you might break beneath his touch.
But it wasn’t enough for either of you. Your grip on Yamato became more desperate as the kiss lingered, and so too did his lips against yours.
The fire lit inside Yamato was new and completely your fault. He felt every drop of desire that formed within him, and he suddenly forgot all at once that you two were still in the garden shed.
To Yamato’s own surprise, he pushed you against a nearby wall and melded his lips with yours so fluidly that a haze filled his mind and made his legs weak. He wanted every inch of you, and hoped to absorb everything you offered him.
A small giggle came from your chest at Yamato’s sudden change in his demeanour, and your hands crept into his messy locks. The sensation of your fingertips against his scalp forced a moan from his throat.
The blush in his cheeks never faded, but Yamato didn’t care—not while your lips and tongues were so intertwined, he couldn’t tell where yours began and his ended.
The kiss was hotter than you had anticipated, and the want gathered in your belly at the feeling of Yamato’s body pressed against your own. You couldn’t help but guide your hands back down until they reached the hem of his shirt, and slipped underneath.
The taut feeling of his skin against his muscled abdomen made your brain go haywire, and a whirl of feelings invaded your system at once. Yamato was perfectly chiseled from his years of training, and that was plain to see.
Yamato couldn’t ignore the desire that bubbled within him while your hands felt his body, and he took it as his cue to do the same. Carefully, his arm snaked around your side and slipped down so he could squeeze the soft flesh of your ass in those shorts.
Your excited squeal elicited the most relaxed grin from Yamato that he could muster all day, and the subtle touches between you two felt more natural, as if he didn’t need to think twice about it.
When both your shirts were peeled off and Yamato had a ginger hand kneading your chest, you were far too invested to stop. The tension between you was tangible, and Yamato dripped of bliss.
Your lips trailed Yamato’s neck, and his breathy moans were a harbinger of what was to come.
The garden tools weren’t the only dirty ones that day.

kousuke.exe not only stopped working but was unable to process the input and was glitching and malfunctioning the entire night lmaooo sigh. i want to remain hopeful that this night will spark at least some kind of change in him despite yui doing yui things… but we'll see.
speaking of yu jing, do you think rand has assured her some kind of protection from yui once the article comes out? yu jing must be aware of how risky all this is. is she prepared for when yui seeks her revenge? idk maybe i'm overthinking this because i'm from a country where journalists get killed all the time, but i still wonder what makes yu jing so brave. what is, to her, worth making an enemy of yui? is it really just righteousness? i'm lowkey really scared for her tbh but ahh i can't wait til we get to the article.
aahhh i'm glad the romance is giving you everything you want!!! it may not be my personal focus but i do enjoy the romance in ily a lot. slowly learning about all the ways shinae and nol are delicately interwoven has been a delight. it adds so much to the story and i can see their romance blooming into something very beautiful! and please, i'm looking forward to you talking about them in more detail when/if you have the time <3
…..actually, thinking about it, maybe "devotion" wasn't the word i was looking for 😅 sorry, i'm not a native speaker so i wasn't aware the religious connotations were so strong. but i really like your interpretation, and it was very kind of you to not dismiss it! i guess i was looking for something stronger and more emotional than "loyalty". because to me, shinae's actions read not only as "you were a good friend to me so i'll be a good friend to you", but also as "you mean a lot to me and i don't want to lose you". idk if there is even a word that captures this?
and not to get too analytical but i find it interesting to compare nol to minhyuk in that aspect. maybe you will disagree but imo shinae's actions aren't necessarily romantic. i believe she'd be just as affected and do the same things if it was minhyuk, who is similarly meaningful to her. except with nol, there is a different layer to it. there is the soulmateism she isn't aware of (yet), but she IS aware of her heart thumping and not being able to hold his gaze, there's also the change in his behavior, and her attraction to rand which she still has to unpack (it's not just for comedic effect it's obvious she's projecting lol) and i cannot wait for her to do the math and realize what's happening lmao it will likely take her some time but that's fine. she'll get there 👍 and yes yes yes after everything these two (and kousuke too) have been through all i want is a happy ending whatever that may look like 🥺 and therapy for all of them. maybe they can get a group discount /j

That is a REALLY good point about Yujing. It's partly why I do believe this piece she's working on started with her friend at the root - it HAS to be worth risking her career and potentially life. Yujing surely knows the risks she's taking. I remember at the beginning of 151 she tells her friend that what she's working on might take several years, but that it's something her friend would be very interested in. If Manli is the friend Yujing has that was sa'd, then it would give her a reason to chase the story, I think. Once she finds out Nol pled guilty, though, she calls her mysterious contact and the story that once was seemed like it would take years suddenly has only the amount of time as Nol's sentencing.
Isn't that interesting? I still am not entirely sure what to make of it. Clearly everyone expected Nol to plead not guilty, for the trial proceedings to take place, for Shinae to give her testimony. Also something that stands out to me - Meg was told her testimony wasn't needed, that it wouldn't matter if she testified anyway because it'd get thrown out and before Nol could get much more out of her, Yui appeared. Not so subtle, right?
That's a small tangent lol but the point is: yes, I think that this is an important story to Yujing, not just for her journalistic integrity, but for something more personal. Vindication for a friend? For multiple friends? Because while I don't know if Yujing is aware of the full extent of how Yui has raised Kousuke, I think she knows enough to sense otherwise. She was disappointed to find that Kousuke hadn't changed, much like Nol is disappointed he hasn't changed - in a way, they've been rooting for him to come to the conclusion we have, right? They've been waiting for him to really comprehend the full scope of his life the who his mother is.
Another interesting thing is that Yui absolutely tries to play her tricks with Yujing, to put on that maternal mask, but Yujing doesn't even bother entertaining her. Also, that day that she was interviewing Nol, Yujing wrapped up with Yui's entrance. She definitely has an inkling that Yui's presence would compromise Nol's responses and make him uncomfortable, and she could probably deduce that was exactly what Yui was hoping for, to meddle more than she already had.
And that comes to another point about Yui. She notes that what she's doing with Nol is below her paygrade and she's doing it as a favor to Rand, but I have to wonder if it wasn't rather self-serving. Nol's drug-related charges link right back to Yui, and we have enough to deduce that this isn't the first time Yui has provided such drugs. If you haven't read this post yet, please do! It poses an interesting link between Kousuke's college incident and Yui providing drugs.
All this to say: I think the story must be very important to Yujing for her to tackle it, knowing who Yui Hirahara is and what she's capable of. But it also leaves us wondering what kind of protection can Rand even provide? He couldn't protect Nol. He couldn't protect Kousuke, though perhaps he was just too late. He can't even really do much to protect himself. And the way the judge managing Nol's case just so happened to retire? We know she pulled some kind of strings, intimidated someone, something. She has so much power and we don't even know the extent of it all. So. What kind of protection can Rand even afford her?
But yes, I do worry about the outcome of this story, even though I also look forward to it. It feels like it will end up being a bombshell in a lot of ways. I also wonder about how the setting of ILY plays into this. In the past, quimchee has referred to it as the United States of Korea - not quite Korea, definitely not America, but as the story has unfolded and characters have gone to and from America, England, Ireland, Japan, does that mean we definitively are set in Korea - and if yes are we following Korean laws? Libel and slander in Korea are a big deal - you could sue someone for running a story defaming you, even if they reported the truth! And again, with the contacts Yui seems to have, I have to wonder what her reach is.
I guess that's what makes Yujing seem like such a cool and formidable character. I want to know what she knows lol i want to know what her angle is. Also while I'm talking about her, here's something interesting I just noticed. Yujing spoke of Kousuke and Nol with familiarity when she interrupted their fancy meal. She said that it was a surprise to see them getting along enough to eat because the atmosphere would be hostile whenever they were in the same room together. There's also that history between her and Nol and her dog Senator. It raises some questions - when has Yujing been around them together? Especially because of the way Yui played dumb about her; it could be an act altogether, asking if they went to university together full well knowing it's so.
Also one other thing while I'm on this subject lol. The morning that Yujing saw on the news Nol pleaded guilty, she was going through a news story about an altercation between Nol and Kousuke. Without knowing the angle of her story, I wasn't sure what this had to do with what she's working on - sure the framing of Nol as a bad person plays into it, but also - during his interview with Yujing, before it got cut off, he says to her "It's not the first time the truth has been twisted in the media to fit a narrative". Is he speaking about that article, the one that frames him as the aggressor? Is that the one Kousuke has that fabricated memory of? Ahhhhhhh the more I think about what Yujing is working on the more desperate I become to read it!
and please, i'm looking forward to you talking about them in more detail when/if you have the time <3
This will definitely be coming hopefully soon! It's just something that's been on my mind as I reread lol. Like you said, it's very delicately woven! For me, there's something about watching two characters really come to matter to each other; it's not something I feel like I'm good at writing myself, but it's something that just really gets to me. I'm definitely ILY for the story and learning about their pasts, and seeing what will come of everyone, but the possibility of romance is just the icing on the cake, tbh! I really enjoy scenes where we get to see Shinae be honest, and we tend to get those when Nol is involved lol. (But also while looking at some earlier chapters I got weirdly emotional re-reading Yujing and Shinae's first meeting at the mall, when she helped pick out clothes that flatter her and Shinae asked if it was weird or wrong to favor comfort over style and Yujing reassured her it's not. idk it was a nice little moment, Shinae deserves all the reassurance!)
But I definitely get what you mean! I think devotion DOES work - frankly I'm not a particularly religious person I think of devotion as lol one of those foundations for a lasting marriage/partnership lmao. And I don't think it necessarily needs to be seen as a romantic thing, either! I just enjoy the religious imagery of it because it makes it feel somehow... idk, transcendent? Since right, it's a stronger word that loyalty is! And I do agree that her devotion, her dedication, her insistence on being there itself is not inherently romantic, which is what I love about it!
Idk how to explain this so please bare with me lol. It's like... to me romance isn't a raging forest fire, because eventually that kind of fire will just. Burn up and one day all that will be left is ash. It burns hot and strong and it's passionate, until there's nothing left. But a steady burning flame? Something that isn't so extreme, isn't so magnificent? But it's steady and constant, it's reassuring. You can trust it to continue. Sure a candle will eventually burn itself out but it's not like that wildfire that just burns and consumes until there's nothing left.
So when it comes to romance and things that seem otherwise mundane, I love it SO MUCH. Because I think it really plays into that narrative of how do you even define platonic vs romantic love? Shinae could very well have the most platonic feelings about Nol and still want to sit by his bed and keep watch over him, to make sure he's okay, to make sure he doesn't go out of her sight again. She absolutely would do the same thing for Minhyuk, someone we know is one of the most important people to her outside of her family. She did it as much as she could for her father when he was in that same position, too.
there is the soulmateism she isn't aware of (yet), but she IS aware of her heart thumping and not being able to hold his gaze, there's also the change in his behavior, and her attraction to rand which she still has to unpack (it's not just for comedic effect it's obvious she's projecting lol) and i cannot wait for her to do the math and realize what's happening lmao
THE BIG DUMB SMILE THAT GREW ON MY FACE WHILE READING IT because that's it THAT'S EXACTLY IT lol that's why it just GETS to me! Because she WOULD do this for any other person she loves, anyone else who is important to her, but this isn't any other person, it's him, and it's the way she can't hold his gaze, it's their tendency to lean towards each other (metaphorically or literally), it's the way he's let his defenses down a little more than she's used to, it's the way he's acting on something she once upon a time thought he was and told him not to but now she's not so concerned about crossing that line. In fact, that's BEEN going on! She went from telling him not to be too familiar with her lest he make his girlfriend mad at him waaaaaaay back before the formal to LMAO holding his dumb hands because it brings her comfort so she assumes it will do the same for him. It's all those little things!!!!!!!!
I, too, am waiting for her to have that realization that this version of Nol, this side of him he's shown her, that intensity, is SO much like Rand LMAO. I fully agree - that was not simply for comedic affect LMAO that was a little seed planted (although, hands down, the conversation Nol and Kousuke have following that is one of my FAVORITE scenes. There's something about the way Nol is just. Talking to Kousuke like maybe they don't hate each other and maybe they aren't at each others' throats all the time, casually noting that sure he finds Dieter's mom hot but is he going to SAY so and Kousuke just like PLEASE SHUT UP THIS IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE such a FUNNY scene lmao).
BUT ANYWAY YEAH IT'S EXACTLY THAT!!!!!!! I love love that isn't grand and overstated. Like, that's fine and I definitely can enjoy a really grand gesture, they're fun to read! But I love the kind of love that blooms from a seed that was planted long ago and maybe you didn't even realize you were nurturing it but eventually it grows and will bloom and that bud has grown and it may not have completely unfurled itself but. In time!!! Soon!!!!! It's the "calling insistently to check up on you and worrying even when i'm told you're okay because i want to hear it for myself". It's the "defending you even when you aren't around to see it because it's not an act i put on you are special and i don't like it when people mistreat you." It's the way!!! Her acts of care!!!! Linger even after she's gone!!!!! It's the way he always seems to reel from whatever mark she's left - her hands bunching up his coat, the earbud she returns to him, the stupid chicken nugget hand holding. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all these little moments that could just as easily remain platonic, except they're stirring something up!!!!!
That they are each people who aren't good at receiving care from others but end up doing exactly that for each other! And how they receive that concern and care! Nol always seems SO affected by the times she pays attention to him, when she notices things. The medicine she bought him!!!!!!! Because he is a person who deserves to be taken care of!!!! When no one else but Nana does that. ;A; Like alfkjakfjkjaf lmao see I'm accidentally going on the tangent already but that's! Exactly what I love about them. That, as you put it, they are so delicately woven, it's been happening all along but NOW we can see that tapestry they've been weaving. We can see exactly how they've affected each other in a way that's led to these flirty little fingers dancing, to this additional layer atop something that could be otherwise so platonic. It could be Minhyuk and she'd still be asleep at the side of his bed, but it's not, it's Nol, and that makes all the difference.
;A;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GROUP DISCOUNT THERAPY FOR ALL!!!!!!!!! lmao I really do look forward to the end even though I HATE things ending and I tend to hold off finishing them as long as I can lmao because I get sad but ILY is special because I DO hope as many characters can get the happy endings they deserve, can find the comforting peace they need. I think everyone will always carry some kind of baggage, but bagage isn't as heavy if you can share it with someone, if someone can lighten the load. I mean that very platonically, too - I just want to see these characters find some kind of peace and have someone who understands, who gives them that space.
But I definitely want them all to get therapy LMAO PLS
