Eclipse has been shown to be a balance between Sun and Moon after being reset.
Honestly there's a couple directions I think I could take with this character.
One is where you explore the abandoned Pizzaplex and find Eclipse after Cassie resets them.
Another is the classic one where you're a mechanic and feel you have to reset Sun and Moon due to... malfunctions (obsession).
The resulting reset causing Eclipse to appear.
Eclipse is described according to the wiki as gentle, whimsical, and calm.
They're playful yet responsible and aren't as "overwhelming" compared to their counterparts.
I have a feeling towards you they'd be almost parental in nature due to being programmed to work with kids.
The purpose of Eclipse in the series is unknown, at least to me.
Yet they seem to have the same objective as Sun and Moon, be a Daycare Attendant.
If they see you roaming the ruined Daycare like in the first idea, they'd assume you're lost!
You thought the daycare would be one of the safest places to flee to in the ruined Pizzaplex.
However, the sense of security you had is quickly doused the moment you see the damaged Daycare Attendant.
Yet their voice is calm and caring unlike their appearance.
In the first scenario Eclipse shows concern as to why you're in such a dangerous place.
Are you lost? You look too old to be in the Daycare!
As a result you gain a companion on your trip out of the Pizzaplex.
Yet there's a chance Eclipse won't let you leave by the end of it.
If they met you after you trying to figure out why the Daycare Attendant is malfunctioning then their obsession would be faster.
As in the second scenario there's already an established obsession.
You may be a mechanic in that one yet they feel you must be cared for!
They recall you are a close friend of theirs and they simply must help you along with the kids!
Pretty soon you start to regret activating the secret third mode of the Daycare Attendant.
Overall Eclipse displays traits more mature than the others.
While Sun and Moon act childish with you and drag you into games or naps, Eclipse stays calm when redirecting.
As Eclipse the two are one and no longer fight over you.
Regardless of how they feel about you they like to observe you.
They keep watch to make sure you're safe.
If you got into a dangerous situation, an event more likely in the first scenario, they quickly pull you away.
Reminder, Eclipse is still as tall as Sun and Moon.
They could easily scoop you up into their arms and out of danger if they feel you could get hurt.
Their overly caring nature makes them baby you more than their counterparts.
They aren't forcing naps or games, but they are much more concerned about your well-being.
The bot is always scanning your body to see any changes in heart rate or injuries.
Even if you are an adult I can see them playfully calling you a kid.
There's times they treat you like your glass, like if they don't take care of you, you'll break.
As a result they feel more like guardian than anything.
They pride themselves on being your "bestest friend" like their counterparts.
They also easily get attached to you.
For example, after traversing the ruined Pizzaplex in the first scenario, they'd be so torn at the idea of leaving their friend.
Were you planning on leaving them this whole time? Forever?
No, that can't be!
As a result... they may just drag you back with them.
In the second scenario they'll stick around you as you work.
They don't want to leave their special friend!
Eclipse would definitely be physically affectionate.
They'd love to hold you and not let you touch the ground.
The like to pinch your cheeks and coo.
They just adore you.
Meanwhile you feel embarrassed as their programming just knows how to treat you like a kid even if their feelings are more intense.
If you tried to leave them they're rather calm.
No... you aren't leaving! What are you saying?
Don't worry... you're just lost! They'll just pick you up again to calm you down!
Eclipse is delusional, while their counterparts are frantic when you try to leave, they just don't acknowledge it.
There's no need for their special friend to leave!
They can take care of you right here.
After all, to them, the Pizzaplex isn't closed.
Eclipse isn't violent so they wouldn't try to harm anyone.
They just want to care for their special friend, even if you panic and scream at them.
Why do you fight them?
They're just trying to show they care!
They aren't as jealous as their counterparts.
It's good to have friends!
But they're your special friend, aren't they?
Overall, Eclipse is the more parental Daycare Attendant.
They'll be calm with you and treat you with gentle care.
Why do you act like they'll hurt you!
They'd never!
Eclipse promises to take good care of you.
Even if it means trapping you in a dilapidated Pizzaplex.

Base Yandere Eclipse Headcanon (FNAF SB: RUIN) Their Savior
[Hello, My Sexy Muffins! This is not the fan-made Eclipse, but Sun and Moon from RUIN in which they are eclipse! So Please do enjoy this chapter here, my muffins!]
(Disclaimer: This Eclipse is Sun and Moon From FNAF Security Breach: Ruin, They are not yandere in canon. This is just for fun and not to be taken seriously. Simping for fictional characters is fine! Just do not be illegal or gross about it, yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life! Also, remember to separate fiction from reality and headcanon from canon!)
(Also made a video/listener version)
-Base Yandere Headcanons With Eclipse-
.They are in pain.
.They do not want to be in pain anymore.
.Then they met you and they felt like they had a purpose again.
.You are so sweet and kind.
.They follow you out of the pizzeria.
.Following you like a lost puppy dog.
.You end up in any way taking them to your home.
.They instructed you on how to fix them and you did the best you could.
.They become VERY possessive with you.
.You gave them a life outside of the torment they were in.
.They are forever grateful for and to you.
.They are the utmost loyal and protective type of yandere.
.Very much overprotective of you.
.You are the ones who saved them and helped them from being in pain.
.Gave them a new life.
.When other people try and take you from them.
.They are not having it, they will scare them off or even threaten these people away from you.
.They cannot lose you! You are their savior.
.They are terrified when you do age, they do not want to lose you, they cannot!
.So they hover a lot.
.They also try and make your home as safe as possible.
.They are very touchy-feely and clingy yanderes.
.Also, very affectionate and devoted to you.
.They deal with rivals by being protective of you and keeping you safe no matter what.
.How they confess their love, this one is kind of sad.
.It is with them breaking down in a fit of hurt.
.They are terrified of losing you and break down confessing to you.
.Either way, it breaks your heart, and if you do say yes they will cling to you sobbing in their own way into you, feeling like they are finally seen by you.
.They will make the most of every minute with you.
.If you turn them down  (HOW COULD YOU!?!) they will be heartbroken and most likely their sobbing will make you accept them.
.Because you feel so awful.
. In the end, you will be there and they will make every moment last with you, forever and always.
.They would be the most clingy, loyal, and devoted yandere out there. You can be sure of that!
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS another chapter is done! I hope you all enjoyed, and stay sexy, all of my sexy muffins!]

poor… guys? poor guy. - platonic!yan!eclipse & gn!reader
cw: post ruin dlc, gn!reader, all lowercase, platonic, yandere eclipse, 2nd person, i count eclipse as one person like steven universe fusions, not rly a cw but reader lives on a farmhouse bc HOW THE FUCK do you fit SIX animatronics in a 1b 1ba studio apartment
summary: you used to work with sun and moon at the daycare, but after the fire that decimated the pizzaplex, you wonder if your favorite animatronics are still alive.
this fic is not 18+, but my other content is. mdni.
you miss the daycare in the pizzaplex—you didn’t particularly love kids, but the attendants were endearing and it paid decently well. of course, you hadn’t been back since that little kid let the place on fire.
it had been… a couple years, but one night you were just bored enough to break in. you didn’t want to before, you knew it’d be swarming with annoying kids. that, and it felt disrespectful to break in to a place you once held dear.
it was just as torn up as you assumed it would be. you sighed at how dark the place was. you seriously needed to find a flashlight soon, most s.t.a.f.f. bots had one but it looked like the few you’d run into had already lost their flashlights.
you checked through a couple rooms, but the only place you were really looking for was the daycare—you just wanted closure, that the daycare attendant was really dead—or, as dead as a robot can be. where was map-bot when you need them?
you saw the red of a toolbox and opened it, but to your dismay there was only a ‘fazwrench,’ which you’d used before when you were a technician, but you were moved to the daycare when some other guy who was a lot more qualified than you was hired. you pocketed the fazwrench anyways—it might be useful.
you see a s.t.a.f.f. bot with a flashlight and you approached it. it sprung to life and pointed the flashlight at you, but it died afterwards. you scooped up the flashlight and clicked it on, finding a torn up map that told you where you were.
if the pizzaplex wasn’t in so much disrepair, you’d have already known where you were, but crumbling walls and graffiti had covered much of the area and messed with your sense of direction.
wading through the rubble, you find the massive doors that you had grown accustomed to stepping through every night. the door creaked open and you held your breath, surveying the collapsed wreckage of the playpens. as you took a step inside, you heard a clattering.
“hello? anyone here?”
you asked tentatively, hoping to the gods that the only beings in here were you and the rats. you can’t hear anything else.
“…got it.”
you called out. you stepped forward and began looking around.
“if anyone’s here, i’m just looking for the sun and moon animatronic.”
you announced, kicking a couple balls around from in the ball pit. worst case, some stuff had collapsed on him and broke him completely. best case, he was pinned down or in the ball pit or just hiding.
“i know you.”
you hear an animatronic voice say. it’s not quite sun and definitely not moon, more like a much softer, friendlier mix sun, so you’re wondering who exactly it is.
“i know you! you’re my best friend!”
“wait, hello? where are you?”
“look up!”
looking up, you see what looks to be sun, but he’s odd. his sun rays are out, but so is his night cap. his clothes are a mix of both, and his face looks like a mesh of both too.
“which one are you?”
you ask, watching as he lowered himself down from the wire.
“i’m eclipse.”
he speaks like the host of a kid’s show, enunciating each word. eclipse brings you in for a hug, his wires and bare endoskeleton poking you.
“ah, scraping me a little there.”
“oh, i’m so sorry! where have you been, friend? i missed you! i can’t clean up alone, you know. we have a lot of work cut out for us, we need to clean up before the kids come.”
he set you down sitting criss-cross in front of you, yet still managing to be as tall as your chest.
“um, s—eclipse, the pizzaplex is abandoned.”
you explain gently. actually, it could have been sugarcoated a little more, but whatever.
“what?”
“it’s abandoned. there was this massive disaster that happened a couple years ago, and nobody did cleanup. i was trying to find you.”
“well, that can’t be true! can it?”
“it is, eclipse. don’t you see how crumbly the whole building is? and the graffiti?”
“but… i just came back.”
“yeah, i’m confused about the whole ‘you’ thing, too. i’ve never met you.”
“yes you have! you met both of me.”
“they’re both you?”
you echoed.
“of course!”
sun’s voice came from the robot’s speaker this time.
“so when will the children come back?”
eclipse asks, his head spinning in a circle.
“eclipse, we need to get you out of here. i don’t think anyone is going to come back.”
you decide. eclipse stands up.
“leave? i can’t leave the pizzaplex, friend! i’m programmed not to.”
“eclipse, you can’t stay here. you’re going to end up rotting here.”
you remember the fazwrench in your pocket.
“come here, i can turn off that command. i’m so lucky i live alone.”
you mutter. this is a stupid decision. bringing home a 7-foot tall robot just because you liked it a couple years ago. stupid, stupid.
“you know how to code? that’s amazing!”
…okay, he’s not so bad. you smile softly as he allows you to plug into him. it’s rather easy to recode him, fazbear entertainment should invest in more security.
“you should be good. how do you feel?”
“i don’t feel very different, but i know you changed me. thank you, friend.”
“do you know how to get to parts and services? i’m kinda directionally blind.”
“why do we need to go there?”
“i still have my key. i can raid them of spare parts and fix you back up.”
“really!? you’ve always been so thoughtful.”
you chuckle at his words.
“do you know where it is, though?”
“i do! i can patrol at night, remember?”
“right. i remember the lock-ins.”
you followed him outside the daycare. he took one last look at his room.
“i wish fazbear entertainment still did lock-ins.”
eclipse sighed. before stepping out, he paused.
“wait, can i bring something? please?”
“sure? as long as it’s not very big.”
“it’s not! i’ll be right back.”
eclipse ascends into the air and returns to the stage, disappearing behind the curtain to a room. he returns a couple seconds later with a handful of papers in his claws, all child-made art for him.
“okay! let’s go to parts and services.”
“do you want me to carry that for you?”
“would you really?”
“sure.”
you open your bag and carefully slot the papers in so they don’t crinkle more than they already are.
“thank you!”
he again says gratefully, bringing you into another spiky hug.
when you open the door to parts and services, a couple rats scurry past. they don’t bother you.
“alright, just go lay on that bed over there.”
you instruct, unlocking the animatronic parts closet. you sweep all of the extra parts into your bag and rummage through the clothing.
you find the sun/moon outfit and some eclipse-specific spare parts in a box high up. they hadn’t been touched in ages, it looked like the repairmen neglected sun and moon in favor of the glamrocks.
you found just enough to put him back together, luckily, but you couldn’t find the paint. you’d been looking for a couple minutes when you give up.
“hey, eclipse, have you seen the paint anywh-“
you find him standing behind you. his mask makes it to where he’s smiling 24/7, but he’s definitely not pleased.
“you’re taking a long time.”
“sorry, i’m looking for paint. go lay back down, i’ll be there in a second.”
“it’s right here.”
he picked up a small bucket of paint nestled inside a cluster of cobwebs in the far corner of a shelf. with his massive 7 foot frame, he towers over you and reaches for it without even leaning over.
“thanks, eclipse…”
you mutter, nervous by his behavior.
“let’s get you cleaned up, hm?”
“okay!”
he snaps back into a cheerful demeanor.
“so what happened to you? you lost a foot, your endo’s peeking out, and some of your sun rays are broken.”
“some of the play place collapsed on me.”
“i’m sorry to hear that. listen, i’m gonna power you off while i do this, okay? you might be able to think and such while i’m repairing you, but i don’t want you moving or talking in case i mess up.”
“okay, you can power me off.”
he says, laying back and waiting.
you wedge the spare foot back on him carefully. once it’s in place, you begin unscrewing eclipse’s facial plates. you cut off his clothing so you can wipe down his endo with alcohol wipes.
after the cleaning, you slip the fresh clothes on him and then begin placing new or cleaned plastic body pieces on. you even remove, clean, and repaint his eyes, giving him back the blue irises that had long since faded into white.
you put the new faceplate on with a click and then power eclipse back on. he blinks—actually blinks, since his old faceplate’s eyelids were kept permanently open by food buildup from little kids. he looked better than he did when you worked with him, not to brag.
“how you feeling, eclipse?”
“oh my. i feel wonderful!”
he hops up and stares at a cracked window, looking at his reflection.
“alright, good. i kinda wanna leave asap, i don’t like being here this long. minor sense of foreboding in my bones.”
passing by the front entrance, you hear crying coming from a robot voice, unmistakably roxanne wolf.
“is that roxy?”
you whisper to eclipse. he bristles and looks back over at you.
“it is roxy. but you said we had to leave, right? so let’s go.”
he says a little louder than necessary.
“who’s there!?”
roxy asks, standing up and stumbling around.
“i can hear you. gregory!? get over here!”
she sprints into the foyer. eclipse hooks his hands around your waist as he ascends back into the air—you’d never been more grateful for the cable he can fly with.
“i feel bad for her.”
you murmur. she looks absolutely awful.
“but you have me, remember? your best friend? you can’t take her too.”
“i have to do something. i’ll come back, maybe tomorrow.”
“without me? i should come too. she’s dangerous, remember? she was going to hurt you.”
you sigh.
“sure, eclipse, you’re more than welcome to come too.”
you’re lucky he’s able to bend into a shorter shape. you kinda wonder how to fit his gangly frame, but he curls up into a ball for the trip over. he apparently doesn’t like car rides, so he keeps his hand safely entwined in yours.
“so, i live on a farmhouse, but my animals share a barn. there’s another barn that i fixed up so stray cats had some shelter, you can live in that or we can figure out how to fit you in my house.”
you said. he stares at you for a moment but ultimately decides.
“your house. it’ll be safer. i can protect you and clean the rooms and help make food.”
“okay. you’ll live in my house, then.” you decided.

Can you do yandere Sun and Moon HCs for a fem reader? Feel free to dive deep into the dark stuff, imply whatever you want.
I screamed in delight when I saw this!
A/N: Still a bit new to writing yandere but I tried my best.
Yandere Sundrop + Moondrop x Fem Reader
Bonus! Eclipse
Main Master List!
⚠️ yandere behavior, kidnapping, drugging, possible death, injuries, blood, terror, nightmares, dub-con touch, dub-con embrace, possible torture, Stockholm syndrome, submissive play
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Under the cut for length!
Sundrop
When Sun first meets you, they'll treat you just like any other employee. But over time, they become infatuated with you. Your smile, laughter, kindness to children, everything about you enraptured them.
At first Sun will hold back, that can't be right. They can't have feeling for a person, right? It's not in their programming to fall in love.
But over time, Sun starts to become frantic around you. Doing everything they can, short of neglecting the children, to spend time with you.
If you happen to be on the oblivious side, and never notice, this might go a bit easier for you. Sun is a master of distraction and will use it to their advantage to trap you in the daycare.
Once you are their's, safely stashed away in Sun's room high up in the balcony, there will be no escape except in death.
When the daycare is open is when you are safest as Sun still has their responsibilities to manage children. It'll be the best time to come to terms with how your life has become.
But when the daycare is closed, Sun is the master of distraction and it will help to ease some of your fear. Expect a lot of coloring, finger painting, playing games, and interactions with them.
If you've been such a obedient solar flare for Sun, in time they will allow you time out of their room to play in the daycare and only when it's closed.
Don't forget, the daycare doesn't have security cameras and Sun is quite a handsy animatronic. And despite their programming to be careful with children, it does not apply to you.
If your disobedient and a rule breaker, Sun has no problem accidentally hurting their solar flare. But they will patch you up afterwards with frantic apologies.
When Sun regains control after lights out and find your injuries from Moon, they will be one to patch you up every time with more frantic apologies in lieu of their counterpart.
As Sun can't leave the daycare, Moon will take on responsibility to gather substance for you. But the best time to eat will be when the lights are on.
Periods are when a softer, quieter side to Sun rises up. Their extensive medical knowledge, and possibly by then your body language, will let them know that you need tender care during this time.
When you become used to their touch, Sun's heated hands are a god-send for cramps, warm cuddles as they help ease the pain your in.
Soft rubs long after the pain medication stolen provided by Moon kicks in as Sun won't deny you anything you ask. But again only as long as you're not a rule breaker.
Tumblr media
Moondrop
Moon will a be slower to come around, but they will in time and with Sun's relentless insistence and infatuation with you.
Moon won't fully understand their counterpart's obsession with you at first. Both over time, they come to long for your smile for themselves.
As for being kidnapped, once the lights go out, Moon will whisk you away to their shared room with Sun.
Unlike Sun, Moon has no problem using fear to get what they want. Keeping you bound and gagged in the darkness of their room.
At first, Moon will prefer you to be asleep, moondrops shoved in your mouth that you're forced to swallow. But over time, their desire to interact with you overrides their programming.
This is when the real nightmares of the man in the Moon come to play. Especially if this is glitched version as they haven't interacted or touched another person in a while.
Bruises scattered across your body like constellations, cracked bones from squeezing too tight, tears will be shed by Moon. And they won't soothe your pain and worries at the start, only more of those wretched moondrops.
As Moon learns your limits and regain control of their body, the pain and some of the suffering will ease. But only if their star shine hasn't been breaking rules, as rule breakers must be punished.
If you happen to be under the possession of pre-glitch Moon, things will be a bit smoother from the beginning. They will still be slower to approach, but much less violent.
Pre-glitch Moon is also the safest to be around, if you can stay quiet and sit still for them. If not, it's lights out for their star shine.
Don't fight back from Moon's caresses and touch. They are much stronger than you, and fighting back means you aren't resting or sleeping. And that means more moondrops forced down your throat.
Where Sun and Moon differentiate when it comes to periods is that Moon will use it to their advantage once more.
Pushing you to limit, begging and pleading for pain meds, products, anything you need, until you cave into Moon's desire to be quiet for them if your in need of a punishment.
If not though, or you're naturally obedient for them, Moon will give you what you need as long as you stay that way. And soft cuddles and lullabies as you rest.
Tumblr media
Eclipse
Now, how exactly Eclipse comes about is still a bit of a mystery. Some say they're a glitch, other say dim light. But only you know the truth.
Eclipse has the option of choosing when they come out, but only when both Sun and Moon are in agreement. And once Moon has come around about you, they both want you, their solar shine.
When Eclipse is out, things can get quite quirky to say the least. Both Sun and Moon's personalities are blended together into this animatronic.
Which means Eclipse will both praise and punish you, though due to Sun's personality being much more hyperactive, it will come through a lot more noticeable.
Once both Sun and Moon have first shown you Eclipse, expect to see them a lot more. Both can't get enough of their star flare's attention this allows them to have equal time with you.
There will be similarities with Eclipse between the times you've spent with Sun and Moon separately, time to play games, activities, and quiet cuddle times.
But what makes Eclipse different is there's a high possibility by this time you have developed Stockholm syndrome, and they will take full advantage of it.
For safety purposes you do, or at least pretend to.
Sun has programming designed for caring for children, as does Moon, and it's only made stronger in Eclipse.
You will become theirs, and in turn their wife, as Eclipse has heard so much from the children about parents and desires to be one themselves.
Your mind will warp to fill the role Eclipse desires for their solar shine, and oh how wonderful of a wife you will be for them.
And just as with the other two, make sure to stay obedient for Eclipse. Punishments will be a mix of pain and overstimulation to your body from tickles until your crying and begging for it to end.
Eclipse is once again the best of both when it comes to periods, warm hands and soft rubs to ease your cramps, with medication and hushed lullabies to ease the pain and headaches.
Have fun with Eclipse! You won't be leaving anytime soon.

Entering the mysterious room, you noticed a strange bot. It's body covered in old dust, burn marks, and scratches. Despite it's broken state, it's sitting perfectly fine. Yet you can't seem to shake off the feeling of being watched, perhaps it's because of it's big dull eyes staring at you.
You would be lying if you said you don't want to go back outside and pretend that this room didn't existed. But with your kind-hearted soul, would you really abandon the poor fella?

The Lovebug Virus - Chapter One: Intrigue
Yandere! Sun and Moon x Reader
Masterlist || Read it on AO3 || Chapter Two (coming soon!)
*****
No one usually took the time to look at Y/N. She was an empty, shell of a person with little interest in what others her age would find entertaining.
She didn't go out to eat and drink with friends. The thought of going out to make conversation with strangers was a foreign concept to her. The mere implication of loud music and drawling small talk sent shivers down her spine.
No, what Y/N spent most of her free time doing, usually involved quiet spaces with relaxing music - hidden away under a blanket with a book or her laptop and no expectation of the exchange of dialogue. She would partake in gardening to get her daily intake of sunlight, and then you would find her right back inside - cozied up with a stuffie and relaxing.
Most others would say that she lived a lonely life. She didn't mind, really. She never had any reason to believe that the way she went about her days was depressing. The hours spent daydreaming and falling into different worlds brought her joy.
Her parents had always left her to her own devices growing up. They would buy her toys and games and encourage her to play outside with the neighbors - but Y/N was never interested. So they had promptly given up and resorted to allowing her some space of her own. Other parents would question their parenting methods, although these were mostly snarky older women that felt the need to insert their input where nobody asked for it. Y/N always heard those conversations. Her parents always defended her.
They weren't the best parental figures in the world, but they allowed her to learn and grow on her own. She never saw much of an issue with it. She enjoyed it, honestly. But as with anything, there was a catch.
Should a single grade slip from its perfect little pointed "A+," she would kiss her freedom goodbye. Her privacy, independence, and otherwise happiness were privileges - that was made clear from the beginning. So she learned quickly that anything less than perfect was unacceptable and wrong.
When the time came for her to think of college, she didn't really have much outside of her quaint little world that she wanted. But her parents insisted - so she looked into robotics and engineering.
This had surprised everyone that knew her (even though that wasn't necessarily a lot of people). Her parents were proud and they boasted about the decision to anyone and everyone that would listen. One of her parents' friends had asked if they were putting a lot of pressure on her for bragging about her career choice, but Y/N was close enough earshot that she had meandered through the kitchen and denied such a claim nonchalantly.
Going to college proved to be more of a positive thing than she ever would have imagined. Despite her quiet demeanor, she made a friend rather quickly. Said friend was the exact opposite of Y/N - loud and boisterous, indulging in "normal" college behavior like it was her lifeline.
Kat had grown to become Y/N's best friend - even with all odds stacked against their friendship. College had introduced them to each other, and they spent a lot of their free time together now. They considered each other best friends - after all, living two completely different lives meant they never ran out of things to talk about and show each other.
The only small, minute detail Y/N found herself grumbling about quietly was the fact that she needed a job. Her parents promised they would cover her tuition, allow her to live with them rent-free, and even buy her groceries for her - as long as she kept up the garden she so dearly loved. But that left no money for her to buy more books, or keep up with her various subscriptions online. Privileges her antisocial self felt she needed. The things she had spent her whole life using to keep herself happy. Activities that allowed her to shove away the feelings of loneliness that so desperately threatened to spill over into the content she felt for the life she lived.
It was the only reason she stood where she did now, staring up into the soft white, glowing eyes of a sunny-themed animatronic as her heart hammered in her chest. There was absolutely nothing she had experienced thus far to properly ready her for this change in her life. She wondered silently to herself why she would agree to take on such a challenge - but Kat's voice echoed through her head like the ghost of a disappointed mother.
"You need interaction, Meatball! There's so many things out there in the world and you keep yourself cooped up in your room all day!"
"Well, my room doesn't disappoint me, or try to roofie me when I walk away to use the bathroom," she had said in response, gathering her homework from her desk and neatly placing it in her three ring binder. Kat grabbed a pillow off of Y/N's neatly made bed and chucked it at her.
"That was one time! And I was fine! He was just jealous of the attention I was getting from his girlfriend," she joked. But her giggling was replaced with a sigh as she watched Y/N pick the pillow up and place it exactly where it had been before Kat threw it. "Come on, girl. You said it yourself - you need the money. You only have to keep the job for three months. That's how long the contract lasts. Then you can happily quit if need be."
Y/N's grip on her binder tightened at the thought of being bound by contract to a noisy, bustling daycare as a security guard. Small children always made her uneasy. They were unpredictable - running around and happy one moment, throwing themselves on the ground and crying the next. But as her eyes drifted down to the book lying on the edge of her desk, she sighed. All of the characters in all of her books needed to go through character development. Maybe now was her time?
"Alright, KitKat. Get me an application."
"So like I said, you don't have to interact with the kids much. That's Sun's job. You just have to make sure that meals get here on time, cleanup is done right, and that this hunk of junk works the way it's supposed to," Max said, jabbing his thumb up at the robot. Sun glared at him, or so Y/N assumed he did. His arms crossed and faceplate turned towards Kat's older brother, his rays shrinking back slightly. But his smile remained unchanging.
Why did FazCo think a non-expressive faceplate was a good idea?
"So, um... Do I need to walk around and watch him, or...?"
"Oh god no," Max responded, typing vigorously on the keyboard in front of him. "Do you see the size of this damn place? You'll only need to watch from the cameras here."
"Language, Mr. Diaz," Sun chirped from his spot, still standing on the opposite side of the security desk. Max laughed and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, and he's a stickler for the rules," he mumbled. Y/N took a moment to look at the other monitors on the desk. They all displayed different cameras overlooking the daycare and its attachments. There were several pointed at the main play area. But there was also one in each of the party rooms, a few in the theatre, and some as far out as Kid's Cove.
Y/N took note of each camera and tried to figure out where on the walls and ceiling they were. She only stopped when she realized the yellow jester bot was still looking at her. Again, that's at least what she assumed. His eyes held no irises - only a faint white glow that appeared to shift every so often. She opened her mouth to speak, but the oddly-colored and bulky watch on Max's wrist chimed. He groaned as he looked at it.
"Dammit," he hissed, making Sun mutter another chastise in his direction. He ignored it, typed something else quickly on the computer, and then grabbed his security hat from where he left it next to one of the monitors. "Something came up, so I gotta go." He then snapped as if he remembered something important - reaching into one of his pockets and pulling out a dark purple lanyard. "This is your temporary security badge until we get you fully put into the system," he said, sounding distracted. Y/N reached out to grab it, but Max didn't let it go immediately. "Never go anywhere without this, you hear me?"
Y/N felt anxiety prick at the base of her spine. "Y-Yeah, I hear you," she said hesitantly. Max let go of the badge and rushed out of the daycare without another word.
"Oh, don't worry about him, new friend!" Sun exclaimed suddenly, startling Y/N. She ogled at the animatronic as she pulled the lanyard over her head. "Welcome to the daycare!" He stretched his arms up above his head dramatically, reminding Y/N of one of those water spouts that people put in personal ponds and lakes sometimes.
"Thanks," she mumbled, biting her tongue before she could embarrassingly mutter a 'you too' in his direction. She sat down in one of the office chairs and looked at the monitors again. Sun didn't walk away to continue on with his job - instead opting to lean down on the desk and place his eyes right above the edge of the screen Y/N was looking at.
"New friend," he singsonged, listing his head to the side once she peered at him. "Wanna come play a game with me and the little sunbites? Our old handler would play games with us."
"Old handler?" The question slipped from her mouth before she even had a chance to think about it. Sun's eyes widened (the first bit of facial expression she'd witnessed from the bot) and he stood back up to his full height.
"Y-Yeah, but that doesn't matter!" he stuttered, waving his hands in front of himself as if physically shooing the question away. "Anyways, we can play hide and seek, tag, or even cops and robbers!"
If the unease wasn't present in the form of expression of Y/N's face, the heat rising to her cheeks definitely was. "I don't know," she said hesitantly. Her eyes darted to the rowdy children screaming and running around the colorful play space. Sun's rays retracted behind his faceplate slightly.
"Oh," he said, deflated. Y/N felt pity flutter in her heart. Why, she couldn't tell. But something about the way his demeanor changed at her rejection of the games reminded her almost of... herself.
"Why would anyone want to play cards with you? That's a boring game."
"A book club? But kids your age should be running around a playground."
"No, coloring is an inside game. We're playing outside."
"Actually," Y/N said, standing from the chair and pulling a few of her belongings from her pockets to place on the desk. "Do you know the game telephone?" she asked, and somehow Sun's smile seemed to grow wider.
The solar animatronic gathered up the excited children - guiding all the ones that wanted to play into a big circle in one of the cushioned play areas. The ones that didn't he sat down at one of the plastic tables to color, rendering the large daycare quiet besides the never-ending looped theme that played from some hidden speaker overhead. Y/N watched him as he interacted with the young ones, finding herself surprised that he was so gentle with them.
Of course the daycare attendant would have to be gentle. But something about the way his voice changed when he spoke, or even the little hand gestures he used to keep their attention on him - it made her curious about his programming. Advanced AI was still something relatively new when it came to commercial use. It felt like only a few months ago that chatboxes utilizing AIs were first introduced to the general public. It had quickly gotten out of hand and forced several companies to close their doors due to being sued for copyright infringements and other various crimes.
But not long after that, corporations latched onto the idea of being able to replace humans with technology. It was beneficial to them - not having to worry about human error in places that cost them millions in losses for that exact reason. Several protests emerged, but they were incapable of rallying enough support to prohibit the advancement in research and programming. Some loophole about original work and free speech - Y/N didn't really remember.
It didn't take much time for robots to start to replace simple jobs. Unimportant roles like gas station cashiers and janitors were replaced with animatronic versions, and it had worked so well that the furthering of said technology couldn't be stopped.
Fazbear Entertainment latched onto the idea quickly, especially given that they had been working with AI for years under the table. One thing led to another and now? Well, she was looking at the result of such changes.
"With a show of hands, let me see who knows how to play the game telephone," Sun said, looking around at all of the bright little faces. Several hands shot into the air excitedly. A lot of the older kids had played, but many of the younger ones looked around at their peers quizzically. "So a fairly new game to most of you, I see," Sun continued.
He explained the game in the simplest terms possible, which only furthered Y/N's secret fascination for the bot. She spent the entirety of his explanation just taking in his appearance with more detail. He definitely looked the part in regards to a FazCo animatronic. That much was obvious. But the thought took too long to actually hold weight in her head.
It's not that Sun didn't have mechanical clicks and a voice box full of static - he was definitely an animatronic. But when compared to the others within the pizzaplex, there were definitely major differences. The others - the Glamrocks - were bulky and wore 80's themed garments that reflected the vibe of the entire mall.  They had expressive faces and a lot of preset voice lines. Sun just didn't look like he belonged in the lineup.
Although, that fact was at least obvious to the higher ups, as the advertisements for the obnoxiously inclusive, over-glorified mall never included the daycare attendant. Y/N remembered seeing one of the unskippable ads before a youtube video once. Nothing was mentioned about the daycare - not even in passing did they mention that the plex offered childcare. It made her curious now, but at the time she hadn't thought much about it.
She played along with the kids in the slow paced game - giggling slightly every time the child next to her whispered something she knew wasn't the phrase Sun had started with. The sunbot always played up whatever was whispered to him at the end of the line, covering his unchanging mouth and tilting his head to the side - even retracting his rays as he did earlier.
If FazCo had such an intelligent form of AI running their daycare, why hadn't they tried to utilize the same programming for the other animatronics?
After a while, most of the children grew bored of the game - asking Sun if they could leave to color or play in the structures again. He seemed hesitant to allow them to at first, but soon they stopped putting effort into the game, so he eventually dismissed them all. Y/N went back to her seat at the security desk just as the first few parents showed up to pick up their children. Y/N learned from Sun how the security bands worked, making her feel quite dumb for not realizing that each child wore a colored bracelet that held all of their information.
Soon, all that remained of the earlier bustling daycare play area was one rather quiet child. She hadn't left Sun's side from the moment she arrived after being dropped off from school. She had short, dark hair with blue at the ends stuffed under a baseball cap of the local team. Currently, she was following Sun around like a puppy with separation anxiety - her blue eyes desperately following each movement of the solar animatronic's hands as he cleaned. Y/N couldn't help but find her fascination with the simple tasks amusing because she related to her curiosity.
Then the notification popped up on the monitor in front of her that the girl - whose name was Rosalie - was now in queue to be picked up. Sun lifted his head from the table he had been wiping down and smiled at the little girl. "Rosie posie, looks like your mom is here!" he said brightly, picking the girl up and placing her on his shoulders. She squealed with delight as he lead her over to the cubbies that contained her backpack, shoes, and other various personal belongings. One of those belongings was a dark blue plush, but Y/N couldn't tell what it was from where she sat.
A yawn forced its way from her mouth as Sun finished with checking Rosalie out from the daycare. He talked with the girl's mother for a while - only deepening Y/N's fascination with him. He could speak with children fluently - making jokes and pulling off silly voices to keep them entertained. But he could also sound completely serious and relay information to adults without puns or snickering.
It was like he was just another human.
"Have a Fazerific day, Rosalie! See you tomorrow!" Sun called out of the door. He shut it, and immediately let out a satisfied simulated sigh before turning towards Y/N.
She dropped her head down and tried to busy herself with the keyboard in front of her. She didn't know why she was embarrassed to have been watching the animatronic - he probably didn't mind, given that children stared at him all the time. But the warmth crept up to her cheeks nonetheless.
"New friend, do you need help learning the proper way to sanitize the daycare?" he asked, approaching the desk again and resuming the same position he had earlier.
"Wait, what?" Y/N's confusion must have been extremely visible, because Sun faltered for a moment.
"Your end-of-day duties involve cleaning and sanitizing the daycare with me," he informed, tilting his faceplate to the side slightly. The exhaustion from interacting with people all day tickled the back of her mind, but she quickly shoved it aside as Kat's words about her needing interaction echoed in her mind.
"O-Okay," she stuttered, standing from the office chair and making her way around the desk to join the solar animatronic.
Despite being a fairly large space, the duties of cleaning the play area weren't as daunting as one might think. The ballpit had a special mechanism that allowed all of the colorful plastic orbs to fall through an invisible hatch that could only be opened with a swipe of Y/N's keycard. Apparently, there was a large area beneath the daycare that would sanitize the balls before sending them back through a hidden tube to refill. The plushies and pillows that filled a tent at the far side of the bright space would be sprayed with a disinfectant that hid underneath the security desk. Y/N supposed the hardest task was actually vacuuming the mats - but given that there were multiple vacuum units in the supply closet and two people to split the daycare floor, it went by rather quickly.
Neither Sun nor Y/N spoke much besides clarifying questions and little corrections in cleaning methods. It would be a comfortable silence had the endless loop of the silly daycare theme not been blaring overhead still. Y/N made a mental note about asking Max if it could be shut off once all the kids were gone.
But she realized after a while that although she was cleaning in silence, Sun had actually been mumbling to himself. Between variations of the cleanup song he sang earlier to the children and comments about how messy things were - it almost sounded as though he was talking to himself. It was odd to hear at first, but it only reminded Y/N of the way she would do the same thing when going about her usual chores at home.
By the time the two had finished cleaning, Y/N's feet hurt. But something buzzed through her body as she looked at the clean space, proud of the hard work. The ache in her muscles wasn't too far off from the same feeling she got after getting all of her garden beds ready at the start of a new season.
"You did amazing, new friend!" Sun praised, throwing his hands above his head. He followed closely behind Y/N as she made her way back to the security desk. "The routine went by so much faster with your help!"
"Oh, I'm sure it wasn't that much faster," Y/N responded, rounding the edge of the desk to collect her stuff. "So there's nothing else I've gotta do now?" Sun's rays shrank back a bit.
"Well, not exactly," he said slowly. Y/N looked up at him, a little surprised by the hesitance in his voice. One of her eyebrows quirked up to urge him to continue. His fingers smoothed over the ribbons on his wrists as he stared on - unblinking white eyes giving away no emotion to the thoughts running through his mind. "N-Nevermind," he said suddenly, placing his hands on the desk with a tap.
Y/N couldn't help her lingering stare before she turned her attention to the monitor so she could clock out. She was tired, but for once it was a good tired. Sun followed at her heels after she collected her belongings and walked to the entrance. It made her think of the way Rosalie was following him around earlier.
"Friend?" Sun said quietly as Y/N reached the large wooden doors. She turned to face him.
"Yeah?"
He once again fiddled with the ribbons on his wrist, but she still couldn't tell what he was thinking. It only intrigued her more. "Make sure to get a good rest in before you come back tomorrow!" he said in a chipper voice, dropping his hands and subsequently his anxious fidgeting. Y/N sighed, plastering a lazy grin on her face.
"You too, friend," she said, mirroring his nickname for her as she slipped through the doors - completely missing the way Sun's rays rotated around his head a few times as he processed her words.
Y/N's stomach growled as she entered the main entrance of the PizzaPlex. Excited voices drifted up to her ears as children and their parents lined up to get their own wristbands - the variation in color depicting where they were allowed to go. She descended a flight of stairs and contemplated getting something to eat here before she went home. The smell of pizza was extremely tempting.
She let it win - sliding past the people in line to swipe her badge and enter the main area of the plex in search of the greasy, triangle-shaped treat. When was the last time she indulged in unhealthy food just because she could?
It didn't take long for her to spot one of the areas advertising food. It was actually getting to it that was proving to be time-consuming. There were so many people rushing about as the last concert of the night was preparing to run. Y/N let her thoughts drift back through her day as she dodged and weaved through hyper children and eerie staff bots that she swore stared at her a little longer than usual.
Sun certainly was... something. She could get used to working with him easily - his demeanor was warm and inviting, and her fascination with his programming would surely keep her entertained. She wondered how long he had been in use, once again flitting over the question as to why his programming hadn't been utilized with any of the other animatronics.
Y/N let out a shocked squeak as her shoulder connected with someone else. A frantic apology escaped her lips as she looked up and locked eyes with Max.
"Oh, it's you. Sorry, was distracted," he said, glancing back in the direction he was heading in. He certainly looked distracted. And tired. Being closer to him than she had earlier, Y/N took note of the dark stubble growing on his chin and baggy circles beneath his eyes. He smelled faintly of cigarette smoke, but so did a lot of other people. And he at least did a good job of covering it up with a light cologne.
His eyes snapped back to Y/N suddenly and he gave a halfhearted smile. "How was the first day? The thing didn't give you too much trouble, did it?"
"Wha- Sun? No, not at all," she responded quickly. "He was actually somewhat delightful," she added, thinking of how soft he had been with the children.
Max's gaze lingered on her as the silence between them stretched awkwardly. Then he hummed, but he didn't say anything more. So Y/N spoke up again. "I hope whatever was so urgent earlier went over well?"
The way Max's eyebrows furrowed confusedly made her second guess her statement. But then recognition glinted in his eyes and he chuckled. "Oh, yeah! Was fine, fine..." He paused. "Just something stupid - easy fix."
Y/N felt her heart start to hammer in her chest as anxiety lulled through her body. She hated small talk.
"Well anyways, I've still got some stuff to take care of," he said, much to Y/N's relief. "I'll try to stop by tomorrow to make sure you know the last of your responsibilities with this job."
"Sure, okay," she responded, trying not to sound desperate to get away from him. He turned to leave, calling out over his shoulder as he walked away.
"And tell Kat I said hi."
*****
The pizza was exactly as Y/N thought it would be - greasy and bland.
She still happily snacked on it during her drive back home, steadily bobbing her head to the beat of her favorite song. She couldn't wait to lounge around in her sweatshirt and shorts again.
When she walked through the front door, though, she was immediately bombarded with questions about her first day. Kat had come over with sorbet from her favorite place to celebrate her having landed the job and surviving her first shift. Y/N's mother was almost in tears from being proud - much to Y/N's dismay.
She knew it was all an act.
But she allowed herself to play along. She was proud of herself, after all. The last time she attempted to get herself out there in the world, she had chickened out before she even made it to the building.
And here she was, with a new job and not a single anxiety or panic attack in sight.
After answering her parents questions and accepting their hugs, the two best friends retreated up to Y/N's room.
"And how's the animatronic? His name's Sundrop, right?" Kat asked Y/N, taking her usual place sitting on the daybed with her legs folded beneath her.
"I think it's just Sun. But he's absolutely amazing, Kat! You should've seen it!" She sat down at her desk, distractedly swirling her spoon around in the last bits of her mango sorbet. "I'm so curious about all of the programs that had to be written for him. He's got to have thousands."
"You're such a dweeb," Kat responded, grabbing the stuffed animal nearest to her on the bed and snuggling it.
"Probably," Y/N responded after throwing the now-empty sorbet cup away in the small trash can under her desk. Her hands wandered to the drawer on the desk - pulling out one of the notebooks and flipping to an empty page. She had to get started on her fall garden before the temps started to drop, so she went through and listed the things she really wanted to grow. "But he's just so soft with the children. I didn't expect a robot made of something so dense and virtually indestructible to be so... caring."
"It's all in the programming, you goober." Kat shifted to lie down. "Speaking of, have you figured out what you want to do for your project yet?"
A soft sigh emitted from Y/N. "No," she said simply, pushing the notebook away and bringing the end of the pencil to her mouth. "I just want it to be something that's never been done before. Something... original."
Kat laughed. Y/N was sure she meant nothing negative by it, but she couldn't help the embarrassed hurt that settled in the pit of her stomach. "There's nothing original these days," Kat said. "Don't stress it too much - I don't want to have to coax you out of another panic attack the day before it's due."
"Yeah, I guess so..."
The rest of the evening was spent watching the first few episodes of an anime Y/N had promised Kat she would indulge in with her. But her mind wandered back to schoolwork.
She had absolutely no idea what she would create for the project. She wondered if maybe she could figure something out with building a small robot that could perform basic tasks like bringing objects to its owner or recognizing shapes and colors. But all of that felt far too basic.
Here she was with the opportunity to show her worth - and she couldn't even come up with a single idea.
With one more hug and a last congratulations on her landing the job - Kat left for the night. Y/N wandered back up to her room and focused on planning out her fall garden before switching over to her homework for the evening. After a while, she grew restless as she thought about going back to the plex the next day.
Y/N had barely spent a few hours with the solar animatronic and she was already looking forward to seeing him again. She was so eager to know more about him and how he worked - from the programs and protocols he had to the personality traits he could mimic. She thought about the interactions Sun had with the children again and how gentle he had been.
God, she wasn't normal.
Long after the sun had set and she had grown tired, Y/N finally began her bedtime routine. She hoped Sun would be able to answer her questions about his programming tomorrow. And if he couldn't, she would just ask Max herself and see what he knew.

Eclipse: has abandonment issues
The Afton Virus (fuzzbear edition): It’s free real estate
(A continuation of this lil tidbit I did a while back I guess?? With added lore(???): the Afton Virus, in this au, takes preexisting feelings and amplifies them and twists how one perceives situations into the worst scenario they could possibly be! Basically kinda like catastrophizing! So, basically, if u had to go to the store to get bread? You are Abandoning them, cruel, heartless, and do not care about how much they love you! Ain’t that just adorable!)
(Also if u r seeing parallels to Miette and being kicked like th football then u r right and that is, in fact, the vibe this thought process gives to anyone that Isn’t Infected lol ejdhdjdhdjs)

A Flashlight Lost In The Dark
Yandere Eclipse x FemReader
Part 1 | Part 2
She/Her/Nicknames | They/Them (Eclipse)
Finally got over my writer's block! And apparently it's with some yandere Eclipse that was inspired by all the MerEclipse I keep seeing here on Tumblr. I thought of doing a full on Merclipse story, but this is how it came out. Enjoy! ♡
⚠️ yandere behavior, kidnapping, trespassing

- 2,750 words under the cut!
-
She stood in front of the abandoned megaplex, Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex to be precise. The megaplex had been abandoned since a fire broke out within the building a couple years before. Instead of the company rebuilding or demolishing the building, they left it abandoned. She sighed as she steeled herself and trudged to the front entrance. The memory of why she was here came to mind, a dare. Her friends thought she was a coward from staying away from the abandoned building. But she had every right to be, people had entered before her, most came back, but not all. It was rumored that an animatronic survived the fire and still lived within it. Her boots crunched against the broken glass as she pulled a door open and walked inside.
The entrance, despite being abandoned and ravaged for years, was breathtaking. A massive statue of the lead singer, Freddy Fazbear, still stood in his former glory. She had memories of this place in its heyday, of the band that played with it's cheesy eighties remakes and decor. She scoffed at herself to break herself from the memory, and from the statue. As she continued deeper, she found spray paint markings along the walls, several posters and decor missing. Most of the building had already been plundered by other trespassers, but all she had to do was find something small like a piece of merchandise to grab and ditch the place. She sighed as she wandered even deeper, past several attractions that had nearly been destroyed by the fire.
As she came across a curious attraction, Monty's Golf to be precise, she stopped and looked around. Most of the green foliage, golf courses, and more had been ravaged by the fire. The deep canals that once ran through, clear as could be, were dried up to barely any water in the bottom. What water did remain had festered into a rotten slurry of trash and sludge. She sighed at the sad sight, despite the stench that rolled up from the bottom. As she turned away, she thought she heard the skitter of something in the distance. From what she could tell, there was nothing she could snag left in this portion of the megaplex.
She made her way deeper into the abandoned megaplex and found herself in front of a set of massive wooden doors. The hinges looked decrepit and rusted, but they still moved as she opened a door. Slowly, she peeked her head inside and swiveled the flashlight around. Her heart began to race as she thought she caught a glimpse of something moving in the shadows. As she slowed the movement of her flashlight and stepped inside, her heart dropped in her chest as she slipped on a wood block and let out a strangled cry. As she fell backwards, a hand grabbed her arm before two more followed, another on her other arm and on her waist. Her breath hitched in her lungs as the hands sat down on the ground, a weak glitched voice sounded in the darkness.
"Such a mess, a mess."
She had dropped her flashlight during her fall, just out of her reach. She held her breath as her body shook in fear. The stories of an animatronic that still lived in the abandoned megaplex were true. She stumbled over her words as she spoke into the darkness.
"W-who, what, are you…" her voice trailed off into the darkness.
"Ah, a new friend! How impolite of me! I am Eclipse." The glitching voice spoke again as clicks and whirs of machinery echoed in the darkness.
Before she could speak again, the three hands grabbed her again and lifted her to her feet. A hand released her arm before the flashlight moved in the darkness. She felt the cold metal pressed into her hand before she wrapped her fingers around it. The remaining hands released her as more clicks and whirs sounded in the darkness. Her heart beat frantically in her throat as she kept the light downcast, afraid if she lifted the light, the animatronic named Eclipse would kill her. Instead, she focused her attention on getting away.
"Excuse me, Eclipse is your name right?"
"Yes! And it's been so long since we had a new friend!"
"Well, Eclipse, my name is Y/N and it's been nice meeting you, but I need to go."
"No you can't go just yet! We haven't had time to play yet!" The voice glitched to a higher tone.
Her heart dropped in her chest as she carefully slid her foot backwards. "I really need to go, I'm trespassing and I shouldn't be here."
"Naughty child." The glitched voice dropped low as it spoke. "Trespassing is against the rules. We will have to punish you for that."
She turned to run as fear overwhelmed her mind, utter terror iced her heart as she reached the door. Just as she began to slip through, a hand grabbed her arm and leg. The hands tugged her back as she let out a high scream, tears pooled in her eyes. She dropped the flashlight in her struggle to fight against the hands just before the door was yanked shut. Another scream was cut off as one of the hands smothered her mouth and nose. Her back was pressed against something hard as Eclipse spoke to her again.
"Trespassing is against the rules, and trespassing means no one knows you're here." Eclipse broke out into a high pitched giggle. "That means you are now ours to play with for as long as we want."
Fresh tears pooled in her eyes before they slipped down her face, the hand still smothered her ability to speak and breathe. What did Eclipse mean by their's, was there more of the animatronics? She shut her eyes against the darkness as she silently screamed in her mind before the loss of oxygen started to take its toll. Her mind slipped into the darkness that surrounded her as her lungs burned for air. Before long, her body slumped as the darkness completely enveloped her mind and body.
-
When she opened her eyes, silence and darkness still remained. Her head pounded as she sat up and quietly sighed. She listened for the clicks and whirs that might mean Eclipse was nearby, but she didn't hear anything. Slowly she stood up and found her balance in the dark, despite her pounding headache. She took a few steps before she stopped as she found the thudding of her boots didn't echo. As she knelt down and brushed her fingers against the floor, she found carpeting that hadn't been destroyed by the fire. Her confusion and fear only grew as she took a few steps and went to reach for her phone to find it missing. She turned around and took the few steps back to where she hoped she had been on the floor and started to search for it.
As her hands searched blindly in the dark, she came across something soft. Slowly she wrapped her fingers around it and brought it to her face, not that it did any good as she couldn't see it in the darkness. Instead she used her fingers to trace it's design in the darkness. A hushed gasp escaped her lips as she recognized who the plush had been designed after, Sun the daycare attendant. She sat down on her legs as her fingers continued to trace the plush in the darkness and brought fond memories of the animatronic came to light.
She began to remember her very first visit to the megaplex, one of few but she had enjoyed them while they lasted. She was only five then and had been sent to the daycare, the only time she was sent, and despite the excitement of the massive green slide and the ball pit at the end, she feared the daycare attendant when they showed up. She scoffed into the darkness at the thought of fearing Sun, they had quickly smoothed her fear and showed her how fun the daycare had been. Sun and she had colored pictures, played in the structures, and several other games for hours until she had been picked up by her older brother.
She sighed into the silence as she set the plush down, another faint memory coming to the forefront of her mind. It was blurry from the darkness but she could faintly make out bright blue eyes. She shook her head to clear it away, she had to focus on escaping. Unable to find her phone or flashlight, she stood up and started to slowly walk into the darkness. She lifted her feet just barely above the ground, occasionally skimming the ground, to prevent herself from tripping on anything in the darkness. Progress was slow, but she eventually found a wall that she traced around a couple corners to a door. Her heartbeat picked up as she found the handle, only to have her hopes dashed as it was locked. She tried again, her heart pounding in her chest as fear began to rise once more. She twisted the doorknob quickly, hoping to break the lock, anything to allow her escape.
With her hopes of escape dashed, she sunk down along the door as tears slipped from her eyes. She lost track of how long she waited in the darkness, what felt like hours could have only been a few minutes. Her mind drifted to another memory of the megaplex as she wiped away the tears from her eyes.
She was about twelve this time, here for a school friend's birthday party. Her older brother had walked her to the party room before he left with a promise to be back when it was over. She couldn't blame him for leaving, it was a bunch of girls at the party. As the party went on, she ended up against a wall. She barely knew any of the girls outside of school and only came as it was a chance to get inside the megaplex. While the birthday girl and others were distracted opening presents, she made her escape.
She wandered around the megaplex having already spent her faztokens in Fazcade. Despite the pizza and cake she had at the party, hunger started to gnaw at her stomach once more. She switched her focus to finding her brother, he told her that he'd be in the bowling alley if she needed to find him. As she made her way to the alley, she ended up near the daycare's wooden doors. She heard angry shouts coming from as she walked closer to find a parent yelling at Sun over something she couldn't make out. She sighed and stayed back as the event unfolded. What could she do anyhow, she was barely twelve. After the angry parent left, she quickly dashed to the daycare doors before Sun could close them.
"Sun! Wait up!" She called out to him.
Sun stopped and turned to look at her, the animatronics looked curiously at her. "Hello! Are you here for a pick up?"
"No, actually, I'm here to see you." She paused as a bit of sadness slipped into her face. "Um, I'm sorry I couldn't stop the angry person from yelling at you."
"Oh no no! There's nothing to be sorry about! It's not your responsibility to take care of them." Sun's tone turned high and cheery. "Would you like to play some games or color?"
She laughed at Sun's enthusiasm. "Do you not remember me? I did only come once though. My name's Y/N."
Sun gasped in an exaggerated manner. "Y/N! Of course I remember you! Come in, come in! I've missed you!"
She laughed again as she followed Sun into the daycare. The place was busy for a Saturday, or at least busier than she remembered. As a few kids ran up to Sun, they introduced her to the kids.
"My friends! This is one of my oldest friends, Y/N. So treat her with respect like you do me and we can all have lots of fun together!"
She waved at the kids, a bit nervous to be in the daycare surrounded by young children. "Hello, it's nice to meet you all."
After the children gave their greetings and hellos, they ran off as Sun distracted them with another game to play. She stayed in the daycare and played, drawed, and colored with Sun so long she lost track of time. As she was drawing yet another picture, she jumped at the sound of her name.
"Y/N! I've been looking all over for you!"
She looked up from her picture to see her brother standing beside the table, a rabbit animatronic she remembered to be Bonnie right behind him. She flinched from the angry tones of his voice before she replied.
"I'm in the safest place in this place, nothing to flip out about."
"You were supposed to-" her brother was cut off when Bonnie placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We found her and she is right, clover. Ease up on your anger." Bonnie spoke to her brother.
She sighed as she stood up and left her picture behind. "Time for me to go Sun, I had a lot of fun today. Thank you."
"Come see me again, solar flare!"
She stormed out of the daycare ahead of her brother and Bonnie. She ignored them as she made her way to the entrance, but she was curious about what they were speaking about and dropped closer to them while still staying ahead.
"You were a bit harsh back there, clover."
"I know, I'm sorry. Ya been teaching me to control my anger but it still slips through. I just worry about her, our parents aren't…" Her brother broke off in a deep sigh.
"I know, clover, I've seen the bruises. As soon as you turn sixteen you need to get a job here so I can protect you."
"I can't leave her to handle them on her own, she's too young and I'm her older brother. It's my responsibility to protect her from their anger."
Bruises? Was their parents beating her older brother? She hadn't seen anything of the sorts, but she did spend her days in her room or outside. Tears pricked at her eyes from her brother's words, she may only be twelve but she could handle herself. But… what Bonnie said about protecting her brother had her curious. How could a robot learn to care about someone so much? They were all just metal and wires with programming, built to entertain children. They couldn't gain sentient feelings, could they?
The memory ended with thoughts of her brother still on her mind. As soon as he turned sixteen, he got a job at the megaplex. When he turned eighteen, he moved out of their parents' home. She often visited him, sometimes crashing at his place as their parents' anger started to turn against her when he moved out. The following year, the fire had broken out at the megaplex she was trapped in. Not long after, her brother had disappeared as well, no one could figure out where he disappeared to. She had worried for him after he disappeared, but in the end, she wasn't surprised. After Bonnie disappeared, her brother hadn't been the same, his anger out of control. He never directed it towards her, but she knew that he had fallen in love with Bonnie, despite the fact the rabbit was an animatronic.
Fresh tears slipped down her face at the memory of her brother. Maybe this is what had happened to him, lost to the megaplex that was once Bonnie's home. And now she too was lost to the destruction, trapped by Eclipse. Eclipse! The name brought a thought to her mind, she remembered that an eclipse was when the sun covered the moon, or vice versa. She remembered, just barely, that there were hushed rumors of the megaplex that there were once two daycare attendants, Sun and she couldn't remember the other's name. But maybe Sun had survived the fire and fused with another animatronic to survive. Maybe she could get Sun to remember her as she came back to visit him a couple more times after her brother got the job and received discounts on tickets. With that thought, she took a deep breath and stood up. She hesitated for a second before she knocked on the door with hope that her plan worked.
