writing a character with disabilities doesn’t always mean they somberly accept their fate, or accept help without feeling like it’s a bruise to their pride/ego/whatnot—

some disabled folks struggle with coming to terms that their life is the way it is, that they’ll always be seen as an outcast by society, or worry that they’re burdening abled folks by accepting help, or asking for it. some feel shamed because again, society loves ignoring disabled people exist.

some disabled folks find joy and pride in themselves, find confidence and a voice in how society deems us as undesirable/unworthy/etc., and use that to their advantage to make abled folks uncomfortable. like good! i want you to see i exist! i want you to know i don’t exist for your comfort! you can accept that disabled folks exist or piss off.

some disabled folks are indifferent about their circumstances, some just handle things as they come, some have never experienced life without a disability, some end up disabled even after doing everything “right” to stay “healthy”.

some are old, some are young, some are pissed that this is the deck of cards life hands to them, some are able to find some sort of silver lining, some need caregivers, some don’t, some need accessibility aids, some don’t, some disabilities are visible, some aren’t.

all of these are valid. disabled folks aren’t a monolith, we are not a tragic sob story to support the happiness of another character, we are human too. we’re not your charity cases.

you can still write disabled characters with complex emotions/dynamics/traits without belittling or insulting them for being disabled. that shit’s just lazy writing. write us with respect and research or don’t write about us at all.

and for the love of fucking god, stop infantilizing us.

probably my favorite aspect of kirk and spock’s relationship is that they complete each other but in exactly the opposite way you would expect. from a description of their blue and yellow dynamic you’d assume that kirk is the muscle and and spock is the brain, while it’s actually usually the other way around. and then my favorite part about this is that you would also assume that kirk is the heart, but really spock serves as kirk’s moral compass.

If you fucking morons cared one ounce as much for palestine as you do for this horrid little show.

OOH I CAN SEE THAT, despite the inclusive language to ensure everyone can kinda see themselves/a character in Reader, they were intentionally written to be a POC :D

i personally always thought shorter hair would be more efficient for all the shit they go through, but i can also see having darker/longer hair :D <3

i also usually imagine them being from a slavic country nearby, but honestly, picturing them from a european/asian (just not western, like the brits etc.) country is completely fine too >:)

I gotta remember I don’t actually like the family party on the 26th and I would much rather be home alone or spending this time with friends, this one is always so overwhelming this house is full of loud opinionated people with undiagnosed ADHD who can’t hold a fucking straightforward conversation to save their lives and my dad always gets upset about how much everyone drinks and the food sucks and every time I try to get to a quieter spot or find an actual pocket of conversation it gets invaded and derailed and shouted over immediately

on a tomgreg betrayal, i honestly don’t think it will actually happen. the chances of it genuinely happening seem very slim. i think there’s probably gonna be the possibility offered to one or both of them, one or both of them will get scared the other will actually go through with it (most likely, tom will be worried that greg will turn against him somehow) honestly? i just imagine a boar on the floor style situation where it’s tense and there’s a moment where you think one of them will betray the other, but they don’t. this later solidifies their relationship and could perhaps lead into the meaty stuff, i.e, the romantic side of things.
