Willel Headcanons

Will doing El’s makeup for the first time. Will doesn’t know much about makeup but since he’s an artist he can figure it out. He references a model in a magazine and tries to get the makeup look as close as possible on El. He masters it perfectly and El loves it! El let’s him do her makeup sometimes from then on. Will loves doing her makeup, it’s fun for him. One day El wants to do his makeup for fun and he lets her. She actually does really well and makes him look so pretty. Will likes wearing the makeup for fun so he lets her do his makeup sometimes when they’re just having sibling hangouts.

Will teaching El how to cook. Will loves cooking and he’s actually good at it. He can make a whole meal. He teaches her the basics first, making eggs, toast, sandwiches and more. They eventually work on making more complicated meals that require following recipes. Will is just so good at cooking he doesn’t need a recipe but he makes El follow them exactly so she can learn. One day El actually surprises Will and the family with a meal that she made on her own and it actually turns out good. Everyone is impressed with how well she can cook now, thanks to Will.

Will goes shopping with El at the mall. He helps her pick out new outfits that are more her style. He picks up a bunch of outfits for her to try on and she gives him a full fashion show of all the outfits. He loves most of them on her and then they choose which outfits suit her best. She picks out her favourite outfits and buys them. Then she has Will try on some new clothes too and she convinces him to buy some outfits that she helped pick out. Will loves the new outfits.

Will helping El with words she doesn’t know. El reads a lot of books so she can get better at reading and writing. Anytime El is reading and finds a word she doesn’t understand she asks Will for help and he gets a dictionary for her. He helps her how to find words in the dictionary so she can look them up herself. Sometimes Will and El read the same book and then discuss it together.

Will tries to get El into art like painting or drawing. She likes drawing but doesn’t love it. She gets into crafts and loves making things. She makes cards, decorations, designs picture frames. She gives Will a handmade card for his birthday every year and he loves it. He keeps all her cards and anything else she makes for him.

My fave willel headcanons cause I feel like I need to share with the class:

🌻 They color coordinate clothes often

🌻Will will give El a copy of the book Matilda (it came out in '88) and it becomes her favorite comfort book. Later in the 90's when the movie comes out, it's a siblings day out as she and Will go and see it in theaters 

🌻 Everyone in Will and El’s school thinks El’s middle name is Elizabeth (or something along the lines of it) because they overhear Will calling her El all the time. He also slips up in conversations and says El instead of Jane and everyone’s slightly confused 

🌻 El asked will to cover up her 011 tattoo with a drawing and every few days he changes it, normally its flowers blooming from the tattoo

🌻 They share each other’s lunches at school

🌻 They like watching Care Bears and the Smurfs together 

🌻 Eleven, walking into the bathroom while Will is trying to take a shower: “Hey, did you- stop screaming, it's me- did you eat the last Eggo?” Will tries to make sure El doesn’t need to ask anything before he showers, but after a little while, he just gets used to it.

🌻El expresses an interest in comics but when she asks Will about Wonder Woman, Will realizes his comic collection is not all that diverse (he has his favorites). He starts buying comics he thinks El would be interested in when he goes to buy his own.

🌻Will freaks out over bugs and El takes them outside. Jonathan would squash them. When Jonathan kills them, it brings both El and Will to tears

🌻El asking Will to teach her how to ride a bike so that they can go places together without her riding on his back

oh yes i do.

i will be referring to them as the twins btw because that is them. the twins. i love them so much. i love the twins. they are. my everything.

i think the two of them have their own secret language kind of? like how toddlers often figure out how to communicate with each other without using actual words. so i think the two of them have little hand signals and looks that they’ll give each other and know EXACTLY what they mean. i think they also have these sentences that seem totally normal to the outside listener but to each other they have hidden meanings. things like “what’s for dinner” mean “i want to leave”, stuff like that. and i think everyone kind of knows that they have this little language but they don’t even attempt to decipher it.

(this secret language drives hopper CRAZY btw)

the twins pretty much never argue. not in a toxic “stuff is unsaid” way, but in a “we just don’t have anything to argue about, our communication is very good” way

when the twins are first getting to know each other, they find out that they have a SHIT ton in common that they never even realized. they like the same foods, music, movies, games, etc. but they also have a healthy amount of differences!

we all know that will is really good at art, and when el learns this, she decides that she wants to find something that she’s good at too. so the twins go on a mission to try out a bunch of different hobbies to find something that el both loves and is good at! and it turns out that she’s amazing at chess and also has quite the green thumb

el and will start a small herb garden together when they realize how good she is at taking care of plants <3

also. dustin cannot believe how amazing el is at chess and gets lowkey jealous and trains himself up to try and beat her (just like mike trains himself to beat max at dig dug), but she’s still better than him lmao

the twins’ favorite disney movie is tangled and they sing every song as loudly as humanly possible when they watch it

which is at least once a week btw

when will passes his clothes on to el, the two of them decide to try and upcycle them and spice them up to make them more her style

they do that thing that max and el do at scoops ahoy where they’ll get food, have like half of it, and then switch with each other

they build a remote control helicopter together. just for funzies

el starts playing softball at school and is REALLY good at it, and she teaches will how to catch and hit pretty accurately

both el and will are pretty prone to nightmares, and when they get them, they go to the other’s room for comfort

if el has nightmares, will stays up reading to her, and if will has nightmares, el plays uno with him while telling him about her day

the books will reads to her are those fairy short chapter books, the “rainbow magic” fairy series? she loves them and these short chapter books actually help her learn to read and understand grammar a lot better

they have a joint birthday party every year (the twins had this idea mutually, they LOVE celebrating together)

“S5 ends similarly to S1”

Eleven is going to die. Eleven deserves to die. I want Eleven to die. Eleven needs to die in s5 for a happy ending.

Eleven is going to die at the end of season 5 and Jane Hopper/El Hopper will take her place. Eleven is going to lose her powers, which means she going to die, because Eleven is nothing without her powers. Unlike El/Jane Hopper, who is a vibrant, kind, intelligent, funny, wonderful individual without her powers, Eleven, is nothing more than her powers.

In s4, when Mike is focused on El’s powers, and talking about how she’s a superhero, he calls her Eleven. But she doesn’t want to be a superhero. She doesn’t want to be eleven. She wants to be ‘normal,’ to be Jane, to be happy. And it’s not even that she has to change herself or become normal- I don’t even think that has to happen. I think that it’s not so much about wanting to be normal as it is about wanting to be herself.

Because “Eleven” is a name that was bestowed upon her specifically to pigeonhole her into a box of expectations and remove her sense of self. Just like how Eleven gets her hair shorn off, but Jane grows it long. It’s not about the length of the hair but rather, about the choice and agency behind it (or lack thereof when it comes to getting her head shaved).

It’s not even about the name “Jane,” being a better or “normal” name. People who love El for who she is call her ‘El’. Because that name, like Jane, but unlike Eleven, isn’t meant to force her into a certain lifestyle- it’s meant to invite her into one. Into a family. El is a name bestowed by friends. Jane is a name bestowed by family. And even past that, it’s about choice, El’s choice- what does she want to be called, who does she want to be? And as far as we’ve seen from El, she doesn’t want to be Eleven, she doesn’t want to be a superhero. Which is why I think Eleven needs to die.

Eleven has been dying for multiple seasons now. Eleven was fatally wounded when El and Max went to the mall. Eleven was fatally wounded when El joined the Hopper-Byers family, and on so, so many other occasions. And I hope that in s5, they strike the killing blow.

Eleven is going to die in s5. At least I hope so.

stranger things headcanons because it’s been a while :)

joyce does el’s little hair braids every morning.

when they were younger, mike and will would hold hands while skipping their way down the grocery store aisles.

dustin quotes his favorite books and movies way too often. one time mike swore that he’d disintegrate if another dune reference left his friend’s mouth.

erica makes her own little pins. she likes to sneak them onto the bags and clothing of her unsuspecting friends. dustin receives the majority of these.

steve wears his socks inside out.

max made lucas a bracelet out of old items she found at the junkyard. he wears it every day.

robin and nancy have an eternity of inside jokes that they come up with whilst hanging out.

el has a ton of hand-made posters on her walls. she constructs them out of paint and magazine clips.

el knows that will is in a mood when he’s listening to music and sitting by any window, doing nothing else but staring out of it.

lucas snorts when he laughs.

erica is a pro at roller skating, and uses her knowledge of moving around on wheels to learn to skateboard.

mike has an awful habit of leaving his dirty laundry on the floor, and it drives everyone who tries to walk around his room insane. 

as a kid, max was forced to take violin lessons. she still vaguely knows how and can read sheet music, but refuses to play for anyone. ever.

nancy is the kind of girl to give herself a haircut over the bathroom sink when she’s going through something.

robin loves swimming.

jonathan typically gifts his mother a large scrapbook full of printed photos he’s taken over the year for the holidays.

el is fascinated by the concept of bubblegum.

lucas cannot sleep without being swaddled in a million blankets. he refers to his bedding as his cocoon. if he’s ever sleeping over at someone’s place, he makes a big performance of “transforming into a butterfly” by waving his arms around when he awakens. it never fails to make dustin fall onto the floor with laughter.

By the way, Max used to paint El’s nails for her but then when the Byers moved away to California, El stops painting her nails for a while. She has just lost her powers. She has just lost Hopper. She has just moved away from some of the people she loves most for a new start. She is withdrawn and coping in her own way. And that doesn’t involve having coloured nails. But then one day she sees another girl in class with her nails painted baby blue and remembers how nice it was and decides she wants her nails to be pretty again. But she doesn’t quite have a steady hand so she goes to her new family for help. And so Will, who has an artist’s hand, carefully paints El’s nails sunny yellow while Joyce compliments her and promises to join next time and Jonathan offers to take Argyle’s van to the store so El can pick out more colours. El wants to tell Max that she is painting her nails again but Max has been withdrawn and distant too. She rarely responds to El’s letters and when she does, El can feel the sadness and pain permeating through the ink even though the words are warm in nature. But El can’t do anything about it, partly because she’s thousands of miles away but also because she totally understands what Max is going through. She only hopes Max is also finding little pockets of joy in the simple things like her and her colourful nails. This is all true and happened between season 3 & 4 because I said so.

El on April Fool’s Day

will pulls the frozen orange juice prank and she is confused until he explains

she then takes it as I Must Make People Smile and pranks people by slipping them notes with cute drawings with her powers when they’re not looking

joyce and hopper wonder how they got such a sweet child

she makes them for Everyone. they all have little hearts and stuff

THEN she decides to bake them cake pops and hide them with the notes but she doesnt really get it so signs her name on everything

max cries when she sees el’s collection of notes for her

oh and el makes sure to get will back. she gives him a brussels sprout cake pop (and a real one after he bites the fake one)

hi hello all i have to say is that whenever Eleven finds a new word/phrase she likes she says it ALL the time for like a month straight. even if the word doesnt make sense in the context she’s using it in. am i right or am i right?

Eleven: Eggos are very psychedelic, i love them. they’re my favorite :)

Will: …i’m not sure you’re using that word correctly

Max: *elbows Will* you’re absolutely right El Eggos are very psychedelic, do you want me to make you some?

Byers Hopper family headcanons:

-Family game nights at least once every two weeks sometimes more and Will, let’s commit a felony in Vegas, Byers regularly cheats especially when El is his partner

- El really wants to braid her hair but she doesn’t know how and neither do her brothers which leads to Joyce walking in on both boys and El trying to learn how to braid hair with magazines tutorials and hair elastics all over the floor

- Upon learning that El doesn’t know what kind of music she likes Jonathan and Will made it their mission to introduce her to all different kinds of music until she found one she liked

- having lived together Will and El have a bunch inside jokes and often share looks with each other which leads to jokes about them being related from the party

-Joyce and El have a soap opera they like to watch together and they keep trying to rope the boys into watching with them and the few times they do the boys get really into it and will gasp at twists and shout at the tv

- On their bad days Will and El just sit next to each other without talking because they both get it better than most and it helps just having someone around

- When Jonathan makes breakfast he always makes an extra plate because if Mike didn’t sleepover to spend time with Will then Max slept over to spend time with El

- Anytime one of his siblings tease him about his crush on Mike/ his relationship with him Will starts throwing pillows and erasers at his siblings and won’t hesitate bring up their relationships/crushes

- Hopper makes an effort to get know his stepsons so once a month the boys have a boys day and Joyce and El have a girls day

- When the boys have their day Hopper makes an effort to do things they enjoy instead of making them do stuff they have no interest in

- The first Father’s Day with Hopper The kids all give him hand made gifts and work together to make him breakfast (and if it makes Hopper a little teary eyed that’s no one else business)

- Joyce and El have an at home spa day and end up getting all three boy to participate with various levels of enthusiasm

El puts ketchup on her scrambled eggs and Will puts syrup on them and they bicker about it and both think the other is gross.

Can you do some cute n soft eleven headcanons

OF COURSE💗💗 el is my everything.

el is a lover of all insects. all of them. if jonathan or will ever find a spider in the house they are forbidden to kill it on pain of the silent treatment— instead, they just call her and she scoops them up and lets them outside.

el prefers the disney princess band-aids above all the others.

el’s favorite music artists are ABBA and madonna, and anyone who enters her room while she’s playing it will be roped into a little dance party with her.

el takes after nancy a lot, not just because she owns her hand-me-downs and whatnot but also because she generally admires her. she loves nancy’s hair and the way she makes collages out of little photos and posters in her room. so el tries similar hobbies, and expectedly, enjoys them. jonathan informs nancy of how much el likes her and nancy thinks it’s the cutest thing in the world.

el is a wonderful advice-giver, and many of the party members like to talk to her when they’re having an issue. she’ll sit them down, get a snack, play with their hair and the two can talk for hours. 

mike was the person who taught el how to do makeup. 

accompanying all the letters she sends to mike or max, el adds little confetti-like paper hearts and stars to the envelope. opening her letters is like opening a piñata. 

el is very touchy with the people that she loves. she’ll link arms with will, hold hands with max, poke mike in the ribs whenever given the opportunity. 

Just imagining Will noticing one of El's strange unique habits and he's just like "Hm, must be a sister/girl thing." Instead of factoring in her upbringing, he just assumes girls her age normally do that stuff.

Jonathan is not much better, but he's more aware than Will.

Even Joyce is like "Hm, I'm sure I did that too when I was her age."

Just enjoying the thought of the Byers completely and totally accepting another weirdo into the fold and accepting her quirks as normal things teenage girls do.
