I MET GARY NUMAN LAST NIGHT!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He remembers the shirt I sent to him, and he still wears it. He also joked that he was going to steal the design and sell it in the UK. 😅 I reminded him that his merch guy was supposed to contact me (email) if they decide to turn it into merch. Then he said he wasn't going to steal it (of course) but that he really does like and wear it. Then I got some pics with him.
I mean....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is all.
(Oh, but I also met Matthew Setzer who was playing with Front Line Assembly this year. He used to be in Skinny Puppy. Last year, Tim Sköld was filling this role; he's well known for being in KMFDM.)

Hey! i’m really into the dbch story and i was wondering if doc and xisuma ever tell bdubs the specifics of why etho lost his memories, cause if they do that is prime self blaming angst for bdubs
I’m inclined to believe they don’t. Actually (and maybe I should do a small comic for this so more people see it) I imagine, once a month or a few pass and they finally return etho to bdubs as reset, I imagine they are VERY serious about warning bdubs not to try to force Etho to re-deviate— they don’t go into specifics, but they probably tell bdubs that whatever happened had to do with something that was emotionally overwhelming, and that forcing him to redeviate/not letting it happen naturally could trigger the same error. They have no idea what could happen so bdubs needs to be very careful and let Etho find himself again on his own.
Whether or not bdubs gets impatient or can only go so long before he doubts it would be that bad if he tried pushing Etho in the right direction is another story.
But yeah. I don’t think Xisuma or Doc really… tell anyone that this happened. Etho’s error seemed like a very specific one-off scenario, so it’s not something the other hermits should be trying to avoid or be careful about happening to their own android friends, and the only thing telling people would do is make them worried about the situation. All they need to know is that etho was broken and that they need to be careful with him. I don’t agree with their decision to keep what happened to themselves but I understand it I think. Xisuma “i don’t want to worry the hermits” Void and Docm “eh this isn’t the first time I’ve replaced this arm, people won’t question it” 77

The interesting thing about Jiang Cheng is that he refuses to be his mother's golden child to Wei Wuxian's scapegoat; he actively chooses Wei Wuxian again and again. He defends Wei Wuxian from her until she dies. It's unusual.
This doesn't mean that Wei Wuxian's experience was any less fraught--being hated by a caretaker is awful even if everyone else loves you. But it was an interesting choice by MXTX.

Isaac's encounter with Renee
Transcript:
Vincent: We'll look into the Sterling-Rico family for this scam. Let's win this case ok? Isaac: I will do my best. Why are you so eager to win this one anyway? Vincent: Felix is family really [smiles] he's my partner's grandad, so I don't want to mess up.
[Isaac was surprised to hear Vincent's relations to the Reichmanns and wanted to ask more] Renee: [runs up to them and jumps into Vincent's arms] Vince! Surprised to see me? Vincent: What are you doing in Evergreen Harbour? I thought you were heading to work this morning.
Renee: I know you've got Grandad's case and I'm actually free today! Thought I'd hop on the train here. [It was definitely awkward hearing them converse like he wasn't there. He wanted to interrupt, but it was also great to see Vincent be casual. Maybe he'll open up to him since he's seeing some of his personal life]
Vincent: Ahem Isaac, this is my girlfriend Renee. Isaac: It's a pleasure to meet you Renee [pauses for a split second] Reichmann. Renee: Likewise Isaac, I hope Vince is treating you well at work.

kai winn’s relationship to religion really is just so interesting to me in a way I come back to sometimes like. she’s the leader of a faith and her gods will not speak to her. they will speak to other people in front of her and they will make a human from a society that did not interfere with her planet’s suffering their emissary but they will not speak to her. and I’m sure she can do a lot to justify it in her mind because she would have to be able to in order to keep any faith, and she has to keep her faith because she says herself that’s all she had in the camps, but that’s still a terrible thing to experience. and I’m sure a lot of people would argue that it’s not real faith, it’s ambition, but I think it’s some of both, and most importantly I think on the most immediate levels she believes it’s faith.
and like I think she and a lot of other bajorans have a reason to have a really complicated relationship with the prophets because the more demonstrably real and powerful they are, the more they’re willing to interfere in things like the dominion war, the harder it would be for a lot of people to justify to themselves why the prophets didn’t do anything to stop the genocide of their chosen people. I think the pah wraiths plotline ultimately fell kind of flat when it kind of boiled down to “dukat’s weird cult” and it was also a victim of the season’s pacing issues, but it has some interesting implications regarding this divide in the bajoran people, particularly when their religious leader’s faith is being so seriously called into question.

One thing that playing as a Selunite puts emphasis that I really like is that, after saving Aylin up until her personal quest in act 3, Shadowheart isn't actually ready to commit to serving Selune?
There's some hints of it in any playthrough, but if you play as a Selunite there's a few dialogue options where you can talk about her becoming closer to the Moonmaiden and she'll just be kinda like "after all I just went through with my goddess I'm a little hesitant to jump right to another one"
It's good because she *should* get that mourning period before deciding to serve another higher power(or if she even wants to serve one at all but Shadowheart's faith is important to her at the end of the day), but also because it makes clear that Selune is granting her her divine powers even without receiving worship in return

I'm about to be really stupid here for a second because I love making theories about Gabby's appearance based on the canon of angelic appearances of some churches so. Bear with me <3
In some beliefs (iirc the Roman and Orthodox Catholicism. But there might be more), angels appear to living beings in the form that is most easily "digestible" to their minds, such as humanoid or whatever Daniel saw that popular belief says is the True form. SO, basing on this fact and that V1 is possibly self aware and not just a "mindless AI", we can assume Gabe's appearance is the way it is because that's how V1 interprets whatever shape this silly man is.
Taking all of that into context, I assume his armor and wings change based on how V1 interprets the signals sent to his visor. If it's canon compliant (I don't recall lol) that his video buffer is actually low res for fuel efficiency, that could also fit in with why the wings are only visible to it sometimes.
All of that to say: Gabz got no human face under that helmet most certainly. I like to think V1 would see another robot under that thang since it's "the child of man" and, such as its predecessor, has a tendency to see things beyond its understanding and interpreted as "equals under a common law" as akin to itself.
Something something "God made in man's image" but switch it to robots 🔫🤠
Interpretations are fun (and feel free to send them :3)
Tumblr media
Yes it’s canon that the low poly look is to save processing power for machines, except for sentries. Tho based on the paintings and stuff we see, that is just what he looks like to everyone. But that doesn’t have to be his “true form”. He can get weird as a treat :)
It could just be his default form for convenience 🤔 any [hopefully former] WoW players here.. lol. Could be like how the dragons take humanoid forms.
The wings disappearing and reappearing seems to be something he can just do tho. This isnt from V1s pov and they’re not visible.
Tumblr media
The last part about v1 seeing his face as a machine reminds me of this art which is a very based interpretation but I can’t find it right now. I’m sure someone can link it. Basically his head was made of a bunch of hands around a ball of light and it looked similar to V1s head. Nvm someone linked it
Here is the art :)
reminds me of these lyrics that are So Gabe to me (song is Quiet as a Rat by Amigo the Devil)

Beauty and the Beast got me feeling caca again so I NEED to share this theory/HC I have on Jack
Here we have Jack and Vil's hometown, as shown in Vil's flashback; there are lots of resemblances to Bella's hometown in BATB as we can see,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So let's consider for the time being that their hometown is indeed based on the village from BATB. If that's the case, then we could think that the Beauty and the Beast tale is passed down on the town as a tradition (similar to how the HoND story is passed down on the City of Flowers, which is supposed to be twst-ver of Paris.) So we could have instaces like this; (example:)
That's the library of the town - A myth from 300 years ago says that during that time only one girl in town would ever come here. Her story is passed down to everyone who comes to work in this library, and it has become a famous turistic attraction in town.''
Now, returning to Jack; Jack said that he never had too many friends when growing up (Vil could have been his only childhood friend, for all we know) but why is that? Is it truly because he had a lone wolf personality ever since a kid or maybe... the other kids would avoid him? (screenshots and tls from Shel_BB on YT)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the BATB tale is well known to everyone in town, then surely one of the most jarring parts of the tale would be ''when the lone girl went to the woods to look for her father, she was brutally attacked by wolves.''
So because of that, wolves are seen as a bad omen in town, and depictions of wolves are seen as inheritently evil/dangerous. While the tale is obviously a myth and that statement does not apply irl, Jack is notheless faced with social exclusion for being associated with the wolves from the story. Vil said so himself ''those kids can't separate fiction from reality, so they had a problem with me. How stupid can they be?'' which again could be seen as a nod and parallel to the narrow-minded and overall ignorant mentality of the villagers from BATB.
It makes me think that Vil was not the only one who suffered bullying as kid, but Jack did as well; even if he was still independent as a kid, that could also very much be one of the factors that strengthened his current mentality of ''I didn't came here to make friends'' and self-betterment. Since he had almost no people to actually trust in because they were too scared of him, he embraced his ''scary big bad wolf'' persona as an exterior mask to the people around him. Only people who earn his respect and trust eventually can see just how Jack truly is; big-hearted, sensitive and loyal. (just like the Beast?)
tl;dr: jack could be twst from the wolves that attacked belle and also he deserves the entire world thanks for coming to my ted talk

Hey so the Black Hole looks like Stardust cookie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know it's two different timelines (CRK and CROB), but the lore seems consistent:
Stardust cookie was extracted from Moonlight's dough because stardust would give Moonlight powerful, but unstable powers (see CRK Chp 16 main story, Stardust's Wizard's journal).
Stardust does have unstable powers: he can turn into a bird-like form called Fiery Star's Wrath, which if overused will turn him into a dark vortex (black hole equivalent in CRK).
The Black Hole here looks pretty similar to Stardust's bird form.
It all matches up! I'm not saying that this is Stardust (it's likely he never even existed in CROB), but this is consistent lore-wise with how a black hole would look like if it was alive, and in this case, the Black Hole is alive! Note I didn't finish the Xylitol story yet, so I don't know more details.

Queen of Tears is so interesting cause i've never dealt with two really complex leads like this in romcom (i mean it is funny)
i've said it before but Haein and Hyunwoo know each other very well but don't know each other at all (i don't know if i've ever seen communication issues this bad).
Losing the baby clearly drove them apart. She blamed herself and put up high walls. He wears his heart on his sleeve and cried over it. We can argue that he should've comforted her in that moment but at the same time she clearly knew he was upset so why didn't she go to him? Haein thought she had no right to grieve and consequently Hyunwoo thought she didn't grieve at all. The moment where they needed each other more than ever- the moment they should've been together they both fucked up.
The core of the issue is that they can't read each other's mind, this is literally said at the beginning of 6- they love each other dearly but also tripping over each in the process.
Outside of Hyunwoo jumping up and down at her diagnosis and faking his way into her will (which was painfully cruel and soooo funny) It's very clear that this is a two person game. Although I always interpreted Hyunwoo's joy as the same as the mistress of a wealthy man who is just waiting for him to die so she can get the money, (it's mean but most times the master either sucks or he's naive as hell and she has no reason to mourn) and at that point Hyunwoo's in the same situation.
Why didn't Haein defend him in front of her relatives? Why scold him publicly in front of the employees? She does a lot of things behind the scenes but good intentions can only go so far if object of those affections is ignorant of the full story. The same thing happens in episode 6, she is trying to protect Hyunwoo from her family but without telling him so he is ignorant of the big picture. Why wasn't Hyunwoo honest with his feelings? Why is he always assuming the worst when she never explicitly says something? We see he tries to talk to her (it fails) but his fear of upsetting her leads him to do otherwise cruel things to keep her happy.
Which is also why the divorce paper is so interesting. That paper was one of the best things he’s done. He was completely justified in writing that. It breaks Haein's heart but severing ties like that was way healthier than him forcing himself to stay in this marriage and pamper her with fake love.
One thing I will admire this piece for is the role reversal, like i'm seeing so many typical fl tropes on Hyunwoo and ml tropes on Haein. You ever read one those isekai or time reverse manwha's were the fl goes back in time to get a divorce but falls in love with her partner again? yeah this is the same exact thing.

1:30am & thinking about all the bipoc women writers who went out of their way to be so incredibly kind to me while only having met briefly… like the author I met a couple months before moving to school who was so excited & encouraging when I told her I was studying writing… & like the caribbean poet who bonded with me after learning we were both guyanese & who comforted me when I was struggling in first year in a majorly white city & as one of the only bipoc in my department… & to the Black poet who kept in touch with me when I was transitioning to university & who was one of the first ppl to message me when I got off my first flight to a new city… & to the Cree poet whose reading I attended in 2021 who talked to me outside the venue in the cold about indigeneity at a time where I badly wanted to learn more about my ancestors but didn’t know where to start… she has no idea that that one conversation drove me to research (as best I could) my ancestry & in doing so learn more about my family & the language I couldn’t name standing on that corner… literally ily bipoc women !!!!
