when deltarune first came out I bought the OST. I didn't absorb the titles that much because I was basically just listening to the whole thing on repeat. so I'd completely forgotten the name of a certain track, and when I was reminded of it the other day, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I've never really had a home that truly felt like home, for all sorts of bad reasons. but I find comfort in fantasy, especially undertale and deltarune.
2015 was one of the worst years of my life. when it started, despite struggles with PTSD and depression and more of that ilk, I was physically healthy. when the year ended, I'd nearly died - I'd been in and out of hospitals for months while doctors tried to figure out exactly what the hell was wrong with me.
the hopelessness of learning I had an illness I'd have to live with for the rest of my life, on top of the despair I already wrestled with - it was too much. I decided the only way out was to end it all.
but then I played undertale. there's nothing I can say that would ever do that experience justice, but if you know, you know. the point is, I'm still here. despite everything, it's still me. and that's not a coincidence.
so when I saw that this one beautiful, nostalgic track that wraps me up like a warm blanket every time I hear it, that reminds me of the friends, the family, I first made in these games all those years ago, is called, "You Can Always Come Home"… man, I lost it.
Toby once said about Toriel: "Your mom loves you." maybe it's silly, but I never had a mom who loved me, until her. so thanks, Toby. it means so much more to me than you could ever know, that I can always come home to my friends and family, and my mom. who loves me.

Tinder (Rafael Barba x Reader)
Word Count: 2,400
Warnings: Female reader, fluff, Rollisi shenanigans, cringey and inappropriate pick-up lines, potential PTSD for former/current users of dating apps and all the awkwardness that ensues from it :)
Summary: Amanda and Sonny try to find the perfect match for their uptight (and while he would never admit it - lonely) A.D.A.
Read on AO3 here!
It had started off as a joke, really.
Rafael Barba would never sign up onto a dating app if it wasn’t against his will. When he heard the snickering of Amanda and Sonny when he stopped by the 16th precinct, his feet couldn’t help themselves but bring him over to the two detectives.
Amanda bit her cheek to settle herself as the ADA’s polished shoes made their way over. Sonny’s ears turned pink at the tips, which gave Rafael the tell-tale sign that Sonny and Amanda were up to no good.
Hands in his pockets, Rafael quipped, “What?”
Amanda and Sonny exchanged glances. The silence between the two was not a normal thing but when Rafael asked a second time - more aggressive - Sonny held out a cell phone to the lawyer. Rafael’s brows went up in question but when Sonny motioned him to take it, Rafael grabbed it. Looking down at the device, the screen lit up and a plethora of information singed itself into his brain.
Rafael Barba, 37
Manhattan, NY
Assistant District Attorney
Oh baby, I’ll give you so much due process, standing will be the only issue.
Rafael’s eyes widened at the dumb pick-up line. His thumb swiped through the photos. One was of an appearance on the news - dressed up in a suit on the steps of the courthouse with a furrowed brow and serious look on his face. One was him at Forlini’s - scowling over the rim of his bourbon while sitting at the bar next to a grinning Sonny. He remembered when Amanda took this picture. It was the day he told Sonny he could be his second chair. Another picture showed him actually smiling - dressed in a Tom Ford tuxedo, champagne flute in one hand while the other was resting on the waist of his date for that night. She was an oil company lobbyist that he hooked up with sometimes when she wasn’t in D.C.
“What is this?” Rafael’s eyes hardened as he looked up at the two detectives. Sonny flinched at Rafael’s tone. Amanda simply blinked at Rafael. She wasn’t one to deal with attitude willingly but given how uptight Rafael could be sometimes, she was letting it slide. Rafael’s eyes went back down to the dating profile and he felt an annoyance bubble within him. “What the hell is this?”
“Calm down,” Amanda said as she grabbed the phone back with a roll of her eyes. “It’s just a dating profile.”
“Of me!” Rafael looked at Amanda like she was speaking some foreign, alien language. “Why does it exist?”
Sonny’s face seemed to become more pink. A hand went to the back of his neck, rubbing it as his mentor for all intents and purposes became more annoyed. “We just thought it would be fun-”
“You thought it would be fun impersonating a Manhattan A.D.A.!” Rafael’s voice was raised. A few passing officers gave some glances to the group. Amanda waved a dismissive hand to one of them, letting them know that Rafael wasn’t someone to worry about when angry. “You’re lucky I don’t have you arrested.”
Amanda snorted, “We were going to tell you about it when we got you a date.”
“Yeah,” Sonny added, “we just thought you were stressed lately and needed someone to... ya know.”
If looks could kill, Rafael Barba would have murdered two very well-liked and very hard working detectives right then and there in a New York police precinct. He would have to tell Olivia that she would be short staffed for god knows how long.
Rafael’s fingers came up to pinch the bridge of his nose, taking a hard breath before looking back at the detectives. “You think I need your help getting laid?”
Sonny’s mouth gaped like a goldfish, trying to find words but nothing seemed to make itself at home in his pretty little head. He looked over at Amanda with wide eyes, hoping for her to smooth over the situation. Amanda simply shrugged her shoulders, “It’s not that we think you can’t get laid, Counselor,” she paused, eyes almost sympathetic and it made Rafael’s nostrils flare, “you just haven’t had… anyone around… long-term, you know?”
“I’m struggling to find where this is any of your concern,” Rafael pointed a finger at the two of them, “or why you would think I would find it on a dating app.” Rafael’s mind was flooding with things to make the lives of these two detectives a living hell. Maybe if he pulled some strings with Olivia, she’d put them on desk duty for a few weeks. “I want it deleted - get rid of it!”
Amanda held the device out of the prosecutor’s reach, giving him a few nods of understanding but she needed to tell him of one important thing, “But before we do that, you should know that there’s someone who matched with you-” Sonny nodded enthusiastically, “and she messaged you - us? - back.”
“It’s why we were laughing,” Sonny’s smile faltered when met with the fiery gaze of Rafael. He cleared his throat before continuing, “we found the dumb pick-up line on the internet and she shot back with one of her own.”
Rafael’s fire was lessened with the mention of a match. And she happened to message him? Amanda stepped closer to Rafael, finger mindlessly swiping from one screen and to another. There Rafael had seen the actual large amount of messages he was getting. “Seems like more than one match.” He muttered under his breath. And while this whole ordeal wasn’t something he necessarily wanted, the temporary boost of his ego made his shoulders straighten and his tongue dart over his lower lip.
“You’re very popular, Counselor,” Amanda’s brows wagged.
“But we like her the most,” Sonny said, “she seems fun!”
Rafael’s eyes rolled, before they settled on Amanda’s phone.
Are you the Court of Appeals because I’m tryna get overturned.
After he read the message, he couldn’t help the snicker. Back in his Harvard days, Rafael had heard just about every dumb pick-up line you could think of that was in the realm of lawyers. He may have even used a few of them but could you blame the guy. Rafael watched Amanda switch over to your profile.
Rafael swallowed. And then he grabbed the phone out of Amanda's hands. She let out a protest but Rafael had taken a few steps away and studied your profile like it was a law book and he had a final the next day.
It stated your name and your age. Then the same location as Rafael - Manhattan, NY. Your job was stated simply as a lawyer. Huh. That certainly piqued Rafael’s interest. In your bio, you had:
What better alibi could you have than spending the night with me?
He swiped through your photos. One was of you at the Central Park Zoo, scowling at a monkey who was seemingly doing the same thing back at you. Another was of you at a bar or a club - one arm thrown over the shoulder of another woman and a fruity drink held in your free hand. Your attention was focused on your drink rather than your friend or the person taking the picture. The last photo was of you at a brunch of some kind. You held up a mimosa with a wide smile and a large sun hat atop your head.
“Did you say anything back?” Rafael asked. Amanda shook her head with a smirk. You were certainly attractive and if you had taken the time to message Rafael on the cursed app then you must have thought that he was attractive too. He went back to the message you sent and swallowed again. “W-what should I say?”
Amanda’s smirk didn’t falter as she stepped over to Rafael, plucking the phone out of his frozen hands. Rafael heard the speedy tapping of the blonde woman’s fingers, tapping out a message quickly. Sonny stepped over, peeking down over Amanda’s shoulder. Rafael watched Sonny’s face as it went from curiosity to what Amanda was writing and to a lopsided smile, essentially giving his approval of the message.
Rafael didn’t like the idea of Sonny approving anything of his - especially if it came to how he got a date but he patiently waited until a swoosh noise came from the phone. Rafael stepped over to see what she had written but Amanda’s fingers were quick with logging out of the app and swiftly deleting it off her phone.
“Hey-” Rafael couldn’t stop the protest from his lips, brows furrowed. Amanda ignored him, grabbing a sticky note and a pen. She scrawled the login information for the account and slapped it onto his chest.
“I don’t want it on my phone if that conversation starts to get dirty,” Amanda said. Sonny chuckled.
“I think it started out pretty fiery.”
Rafael held the sticky note in his fingers. He could feel his phone in his suit pocket. It felt hot and electric against him, even through all the layers of clothes he wore. “Nevertheless, I’m deleting the account,” he looked over the two detectives with a hard gaze, “and you are to never to do this again. Or else I will be put in jail for voluntary manslaughter.” Amanda swiftly ignored Rafael’s threat whereas Sonny seemed to take it more seriously. The lanky man gave a nod before settling himself at his desk.
Rafael stepped away from the detectives’ desks and dug his phone out from his pocket. His fingers twitched and he felt this wave of embarrassment wash over him as he searched the app’s name and watched it download onto his phone. It seemed to take hours for the dumb thing to fully be situated onto his device. He tapped it, used the sticky note information to log in and was greeted with new profiles to swipe across. He ignored them and went to his messages to see what the pesky blonde detective had said. He hoped it wasn’t something too inappropriate. The last thing Rafael needed was headlines of him sexually harassing women over social media.
He hesitated for a second before tapping on the messages with you. He took a deep breath. He felt nervous. Was it because of the potential can of worms that Amanda could have unleashed? Was it because he found you attractive? Was it because the two detectives were right and it had been a while since he’s had anyone around? While Rafael was capable of finding a temporary suitor to share his bed, he couldn’t find anyone to become something more permanent.
His eyes searched the screen, brain trying to quickly decipher the jumble of letters on his screen. “Ay Dios mío,” Rafael muttered under his breath and the grip on his phone tightened. Rafael thought he read the message a dozen times, just over and over again, trying to really see if Amanda truly did send this to you. He tapped various spaces on his phone, trying to see if there was an undo button but to no avail, the message taunted him.
Something something dictum. Sleep with me.
Rafael was caught off guard by Olivia who called his name from her office door. Rafael cleared his throat, slid his phone back into his pocket with one hand and slid the other down his chest, smoothing out any wrinkles in his shirt. Rafael finally remembered why he was there at the precinct. He needed to do his job and watch a line-up be conducted. Olivia had sounded very confident over the phone, so he figured he had a simple day.
He had spent the rest of his day watching various victims come forward to pick out their attacker confidently. When the defense lawyer monotonously asked to speak with his client after the lineups were done, Rafael felt his phone buzz. For a brief moment, Rafael had forgotten the dating app debacle. He wondered if it was Carmen, telling him of more paperwork and messages that needed to be signed and answered.
But no, it wasn’t Carmen.
It was a notification from the stupid app.
You have a new message!
Rafael bit down on his bottom lip, finger hovering over the notification. He took a breath and tapped his phone. God, what is wrong with me? Grow some cojones, Barba. Rafael watched the screen load and then plaster your message into his line of vision.
Ah, this definitely is a catfish account because there’s no way an ADA would use a line like that.
Rafael smirked. Took a moment to think and then started to type.
The DA has very low standards these days.
You messaged back quickly.
If they’re hiring based on looks, then I’d say they have very high standards, Counselor.
Rafael’s hand lifted to scratch at his jaw, a smile breaking across his face. His eyes widened at another message from you.
Does the prosecution want to rest at my place later tonight?
The forwardness from you made Rafael’s smile turn into a smirk. If Olivia or Sonny had seen him, they would even consider to call it a cocky smirk.
Would you want to meet for drinks first or just take this back to chambers?
I suppose I could side-bar for some drinks.
Great!
He paused before sending another message.
Let’s just agree to not use any more lawyer puns.
Objection!
After setting up a time to meet up at a swanky bar later that night, Rafael entered the bullpen again but with an air of confidence about him. Amanda noticed the shift in energy within the counselor. The corner of her mouth ticked up, fingers fiddling with a pen as she leaned back in her chair, side-eyeing Rafael. “Line-up went well?”
Rafael picked a piece of nonexistent lint off his suit jacket. “It went great, Rollins.” She hummed quietly, eyes studying every inch of his face with amusement.
“We’re heading to Forlini’s tonight,” Amanda stated, “would you like to come?” At the mention of Forlini’s, Sonny peeked over at the two of them from his laptop.
Rafael gave one curt shake of his head. “I’m afraid I’m busy tonight.” And with that, Rafael had turned and exited the bullpen and towards the elevator. Even though he hated it in theory of what Amanda and Sonny did, Rafael couldn’t deny that he didn’t not like the outcome of it.

corpse husband x fem!reader
summary: you meet corpse on a stream and you’re surprised when he reaches out to you
warnings: cursing, mentions of tattooing
word count: 1.9k
notes: This is proof read but could have missed some stuff. This is my first corpse fic and my first time writing fanfic since I posted that super cringey book on wattpad when I was like 12 or something. I’d appreciate feed back so please reach out to me :)
main blog @itsmysleepover
read part 2 here!
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You were cleaning up your station so you can get home and stream. You loved your day job as a tattoo artist but you also really enjoyed streaming. It started as a way to promote yourself as an artist and the shop you worked at but it eventually became a really fun way to destress at the end of the week (or day if you were really itching to stream). “Hey Y/N was that your last client?” your boss, KC, asked as she walked to the front of the shop and put new flash drawings on the walls.
“Yes ma’am!” You said back excitedly. You finished cleaning your station and tossed your black gloves in the trash. “And you can’t trick me into staying and taking walk-ins,” you joked with her. She rolled her eyes and walked back into her office “It was one time,” she said as you slid on your jacket. As you walked out your phone buzzed in your pocket and you checked to see who had texted you. It was a message from Sean asking if you were free to play Among Us with him and some other streamers. You replied that you were on your way home right now and totally down. You were excited to see who was playing this time around since their Among Us streams are super entertaining and have gotten really popular.
On your way back you tweeted and posted to your Instagram story that you’d be streaming soon and set up all your stuff once you made it home. After a few minutes, you had a couple of thousand people watching. You entered the discord chat and Sean spoke up. “Everyone this is Y/N she’s sensitive so be gentle.”
“It’s nice to finally meet you guys and I’m not gentle, I'm ruthless,” You say into your mic and notice the chat calling you a liar. Everyone was in the lobby waiting for the game to start. “You sound way too sweet to be ruthless,” Corpse said. The countdown started and you were imposter with Charlie.
“This should be fun,” you told the stream. Yout tried playing strategically but after such a long shift your brain was mush. You saw Poki in nav and killed her then vented into shields. Not long after the body was reported and you were sure you were going to get voted out or at least sussed.
“Where was the body?” Felix asked. “Nav and I didn’t see anyone near there so whoever is imposter must have vented,” Corpse responded. Felix spoke up again. “I think I saw Y/N walk that way and I haven’t seen her since.”
Shit, shit, shit shit. “I’m in shield right now so-” you said trying to defend yourself but Charlie spoke up. “I was doing tasks with her earlier and I saw her walk into shields so she’s safe but I’m still not sure about Rae.” Everyone discussed a bit more and some people, including Corpse, voted for you but Rae got the majority vote and was ejected. You released your breath and kept playing being extra careful.
“Okay, guys that was super close. Corpse knows and is out to get me,” you said to the chat. You were eventually voted off but one round later victory was written across your screen with your ghost and Charlie’s avatar. “Good game guys,” Corpse said.
“I told you guys I was ruthless!”
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You sat at your station doing nothing because a client had canceled a four-hour session. You were listening to music and sketching some stuff but you were bored out of your mind and you didn’t want to leave in case you got a walk-in. The music got quiet as you received a twitter notification saying someone had messaged you. You reached for your phone and saw you had gotten a dm from Corpse.
C: hey :)
You didn’t know what to respond. You were mostly confused as to why he decided to message you out of the blue. Did he want something? But what would he want?
Y: Hii! This is sudden
C: was i bothering you?
    shit sorry!
Y: Youre fine I wasn’t doing anything rn
C: how has your day been
i dont usually do stuff like this
Y: Im glad you did im doing better now I was so bored
C: what were you doing that was so terrible
Y: NOTHING! thats the problem :(
C: im sure youll find something to do
You stared at his message. Unsure what to respond.
Y: Im gonna give myself a tattoo
C: what?
    NO!
You tossed the needles you used for your tattoo into the sharps box. “Oh my god you didn’t,” KC said. She noticed the wrap on your calve from the tattoo you just gave yourself out of boredom. “It’s not my fault I didn’t have anything else to do!” You said trying to defend yourself. She sighed and just shook her head. “Just go home business is slow today.” It was raining so the shop probably wasn’t going to get a walk-in anyway and you didn’t have any more clients for the day. It was only 2 pm but you drove home and after making lunch for yourself decided to stream. You weren’t expecting too many people so it was bound to be super chill. Your leg felt sore reminding you of the tattoo. You snapped a quick pic of the fresh jack-o-lantern on the side of your calve and messaged it to Corpse.
Y: [image] it came out nice!
C: thats  super cool actually
i was concerned why you would just give yourself a tattoo but i found your instagram and       youre super talented
Y: Thank you!
For some reason, it felt strange to just have that be the end of your response.
Y: Im about to start streaming if you wanted to watch
    [link]
C: ill be watching ;)
What’s that supposed to mean?
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You sat in your apartment watching tv, hand lost in a bag of Doritos, and scrolling through twitter. You had stopped paying attention to the anime playing on the screen since you’ve watched it a hundred times and knew you wouldn’t miss anything. It was Saturday and you usually take those days off. Take the time to do chores or meet up with some friends but today you felt like not doing any of those things. As you continue your endless scroll (not helping the twitter addiction you told yourself you’d try to get a handle on) you got a message from Corpse.
C: wanna talk?
You looked down at the message unsure of how to answer. It was a simple yes or no and the obvious answer was yes. You and Corpse had started talking more regularly. You still didn’t have each other’s phone numbers but it was fine. Your conversations weren’t too big-- just you sending him memes, tiktoks, and telling him how much you liked the songs he would drop. Or him complimenting a tattoo you did. Sometimes he’d message you during streams telling you funny stuff his fans would say in the chat and you’d do the same. You learned a bit about each other but nothing too deep or serious. Like how you two lived a few cities away and you both really liked Donnie Darko. When Sean first invited you to that game out of everyone else there you were most excited to meet Corpse. He’s just so sweet and funny. Of course, you’d love to talk to him but you were also itching to talk to him and the last thing you’d ever want to do was make him uncomfortable.
Y: Yeah id love to talk
Here goes nothing.
Y: Wanna facetime or something?
No pressure or anything it could even be a regular call
I think facetime is just my default lol
You sent those last two messages quickly after you had sent the first. You wished you could know what he was thinking. It was killing you to think you had turned him off from talking to you completely. You put your phone down on the couch and went to wash your hand of Dorito dust. When you got back from the kitchen you turned off the tv and tossed yourself onto the couch.
Still no message.
Why am I so fucking stupid?
Just as you were standing up to stretch from sitting on the couch all day your phone buzzed. You reached for it fast and looked to see that it was him. You became super excited still not even knowing what the message said. It could have told you to never talk to him again for all you knew.
C: sure lets facetime
    xxx-xxx-xxxx
You had his phone number. You added him to your small but growing contact list and called. You sat on your couch waiting for a response when he finally picked up the screen was black. It didn’t upset you; you kind of expected it and didn’t care what he had to do to make himself more comfortable during this call.
“Hey,” he said. His voice was raspier than usual.
“Did you just wake up?” You asked and looked at the time. It was about a little past noon and you had only eaten Doritos all day. Shit, you should probably make a decent meal.
“Not that long ago but yeah,” he responded and giggled. That giggle.
“Well, I’ve eaten nothing but Doritos all day while rewatching Ouran High School Host Club, so you’re welcome to join me as I make myself something to eat.”
“Sounds like fun; what are we eating?”
“I don’t know yet,” You said as you stood up and made your way to the kitchen. You opened the pantry and looked. You noticed a can of diced tomatoes and reached for it then checked the expiration date. It was still good. On your counter were some onions and garlic. “How about some tomato soup?”
“Sounds delicious.” you smiled at Corpse and your phone screen not knowing if he was also looking at his screen or not. “You’re really pretty-- you know that?”
“Thanks, but you don’t have to--”
“I’ve already told you what an incredible artist you are so many times I bet you’re tired of hearing it, but you already know what a talented artist you are.”
“That is very kind of you Corpse,” you said to him bashfully as you chopped the onion and opened the can of tomatoes. “But once again you don’t have to reach so far to compliment me.”
“I’m not reaching you are talented and beautiful and--”
“I thought I was pretty.” You could hear him chuckle with a smile on his face. “You’re both,” he said. You could feel your face getting warm from blushing.
“Fuck you you’re making me blush. My face is all hot and stuff.”
He laughed at how flustered you got. “That’s the cutest thing ever.”
You didn’t know how to respond so you just put some olive oil in a pot and tossed in your onions. It became silent but it was a comfortable silence. You turned the stove on and watched the flame for a few seconds. “If it was dark we could pretend we were together and having a bonfire or something,” you said to the phone as you turned the camera to show him the flame (still not 100 percent sure if he was looking at you or not).
“I’ll put it on the list of things to do when you visit me someday.”

Heather
synopsis; you’ve always been the last, the last to be chosen, the last to be remembered, the last. And it doesn’t help that you’re Heather’s best friend either. but maybe, your unfortunate fate can be changed.
word count; 5,957
time taken; eesh, let’s not talk about it.
warnings; angst, heartbreak, feeling inferior, insecurities, bullying (?? if you squint)
notes; hi! i’m back for the time being, i mean not really, but enjoy this for the next three months i guess, i’m joking, i think i might just get back into writing but updates will be fairly slow, and i’m not just doing bts oneshots/series anymore, i’m currently only doing bnha for anime buttt maybe it’ll expand. also, yes, this is inspired by ‘Heather’ by Conan Gray, listen to it whilst you read, you may just cry.
-
There’s always that one girl. The one nobody can hate, the one that everyone swoons for, the one that’s always right, the one no one can be mad at. Unfortunately for you, you are not that girl, but you are her best friend. Yes you heard right, you were the best friend of the Heather in your school, also known as Yaoyorozu Momo.
See, you don’t hate Yaoyorozu, no, no, that’s definitely nowhere near the case, you just hate that everyone views her as some perfect princess that makes no mistakes, in fact it’s not even that, it’s that you’re just seen as her best friend, the girl that’s just there, the one that’s always there, you know the face but never the name. The second choice. The last choice.
It doesn’t help that Momo is your only friend, and that you’ve always felt inferior to her, it’s not exactly the healthiest relationship, but it’s your only choice, there’s not really anyone else. You’re just not taken seriously, it’s always Momo this and Momo that, she’s the only one who really wants to talk to you. And you hate the world for that.
It’s even more difficult as the days go by, a wave of insecurities, depression, and your childhood trauma finally catching up to you, you can’t even bring yourself to lift your head up during class, and the boy sitting to your right seems to notice.
“___? Why do you look like a deflated whale?” you hear a voice from your right, you look up to see a blur of red and white hair and heterochromatic eyes through your tears. Let’s ignore the fact that you are definitely not okay, how does the son of one of the most famous heroes in the world, Todoroki Shoto, know your name when nobody else can bother to learn it(excluding Momo, of course).
“You-you know my name?”
“I mean…I’ve been sitting next to you since the first day…it’s not that hard to remember.”
“Right.” You wipe away the streaks of tears.
“So…do you want to complain…isn’t that what people usually do when they’re sad?”
“I’m fine,” you tell him.
“You don’t look fine.” He says bluntly.
“And? Why does it matter?” Truth be told you love the attention you’re getting, you just want to keep the conversation going, even if it’s short.
“If you don’t want to tell me then don’t.” Well, ouch, but to be honest, you were asking for it.
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
“Well fuck you, then.”
And you can’t deny how your heart flutters at the sight of the small smirk that’s planted on his face.
-
And so it began, a slow building friendship, one of those kinds of friendships you see on TV, it was just six pure months of happiness, a true friendship, and you don’t mind admitting that it feels nice to have a friend that isn’t Momo, it makes you feel somewhat better, and he makes you feel somewhat better. It’s nice to not feel insecure every time you’re near a friend; it’s nice to just hang out with him, even if he’s being blunt and a little straightforward, but that’s just how he is and it doesn’t make you love him any less. Except this bond you shared wasn’t just between the two of you, unfortunately Momo decided to come in. It struck your nerves just a little bit, it was almost like she couldn’t let you have anything for your own, but you know that’s not how Momo intended it to be, it just happened, and you couldn’t hate it more. You could tell how Shoto felt towards Momo, doing things for her he wouldn’t even do for you, dropping everything to take care of her, and it didn’t help your case because before you knew it, you were free-falling deep into the rabbit hole labelled ‘Todoroki Shoto’ and he was too; except the rabbit hole was not named after you.
You don’t blame him for being in love with Momo, you don’t. In fact, you can see exactly why he would, she’s pretty, she’s smart, she’s always right, and at this point you’re one-hundred percent sure she’s probably never wronged anyone, not a single sin on her list. It just sucks because, for once, you just wanted something for yourself, but now you can’t even have that.
You’re not quite sure how it happened, if you’re honest, one moment you were trying to get rid of him because he continuously tried to check up on you, and the next, you finally made him laugh for the first time, and you felt hope, so you continued to talk to him, and next thing you know it you were best friends, and then Momo decided to talk to him. And that’s when your special few months were over; Momo was back to claim what was hers, without even knowing it.
-
It’s a dark Friday night when Momo finally tells you exactly what you didn’t want to hear, you’re sitting behind Momo, braiding her hair, being careful not to pull her hair down.
“___? Ow- eesh, ____, be careful, it hurts a little,” she groans.
“I’m sorry, it’s just I’m not used to doing other people’s hair, plus yours is so long!”
“Yours is longer! Anyway, I wanted to tell you something…” your heart stops, time freezes, everything freezes…please no, please…
“I think…I think I…” no, no, please no, “I think I like Todoroki Shoto, no- I think I really like him.”
“Oh.” It’s all you can come up with, your eyes welling up, holding back tears…why, why, why. But like the good best friend you are, you can’t lie to her. “I think he likes you, too. You should confess.” You tell her.
God damn it. You’re so tired of this, you’re so sick of being second best, you’re sick of it never being you, but it’s different this time, you can feel it in the air. Usually Momo rejects everyone, girl or boy, she always says no…but the one time you like a guy…it just happens to be the guy you’re in love with that she decides to reciprocate feelings towards. And maybe you’re just finally done with it.
But you know, like always, it’s not Momo’s fault, not even Shoto’s, if you blame anyone, it’s you because you’re absolutely useless.
“Really? But I can’t…I don’t think he does…I mean…he always seems to love being around you. Is it possible you could…maybe talk to him for me?” You’re trying so hard to not have a mental breakdown, and it only gets harder…’I mean he always seems to love being around you’…is she serious? Is she blind? But you know you’ll still talk to him for her, like you would even if you didn’t love him.
But all of this reminded you, Yaoyorozu was truly Heather. And you were barely even on the list of choices at this point.
-
“We need to talk.”
Shoto looks up, noodles shoved in his mouth, an adorably clueless look on his face- and it takes you every fibre of your being not to shamelessly coo at him. He swallows down the noodles, taking a big gulp of water before looking up at you once more, “What about?”
“Your crush on Momo.” He freezes, a blush covering his cheek, clearly, you hit a nerve.
“Do we have to?”
“Yes. I think it’s time you confess.”
“…You’re right. But how do we...? I don’t really know how…to confess.”
“There’s no we in this, it’s all you.”
“You know, I’d appreciate it very much if you helped me a little.” You want to say no. You want to say no, and you’re going to, but…it’s Todoroki Shoto…the guy you’ve liked for way too long…
“Okay, fine, we’ll plan it over the next two weeks; it has to be perfect for Momo, she deserves only the best.” Yeah, no, you’ll always just be stuck as Heather’s best friend.
“Okay.”
“Meet me after school, at my dorm.”
-
You’re not sure if this will even work but it’s the best you’ve got. And what’s your plan, you ask? Movies. Romance movies, cringey chick flicks, everything there is related to romance that Shoto could possibly take note of.
And surely, as you knew, he shows up, a notebook in hand, and the most deadpan look on his face.
“So…what are we doing.”
“Films, Shoto, romance films, you get the idea, every time you see a romantic confession, you write down things, like how they might be describing their feelings…you know…that stuff.” Why are you doing this again? Oh right, because you’re weak, and because you just want to see your best friends happy with each other.
“Oh…okay.” He sits down on your bed, rolling over onto his stomach in front of your laptop.
“We’re starting with titanic.”
“But isn’t that a sad movie?”
“Well maybe I want to cry,” You state bluntly.
“Oh.”
You’re about halfway through the Titanic, when your phone starts ringing. It’s Momo. Both you and Todoroki tense up. You pause the film to accept her call.
“Momo?”
“___? I didn’t see you all day so I decided I should check up on you, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I’m just with Shoto…” beside you, Shoto relaxes, muscles going from tense to relaxed within seconds just at the sound of Momo’s voice. Your heart constricts once more.
“Oh…um…have fun? We’re still hanging out again tomorrow night, right?” She asks, her voice hopeful. But for some reason that makes you want to curl up and bawl your eyes out.
“Oh, um, I may have to cancel…” you can’t, you can’t deal with her.
“Oh, that’s okay, day after tomorrow?”
“I’ll see.” And with that you end the call, letting the tears in your eyes flow freely, sobs wracking your body.
“___? ___! What’s wrong?”
“What do you do when you’re in love with a boy…who’s in love with your best friend? Shoto, I can’t live like this anymore, I’m always second best, everyone loves her, and the one time I seem to like a guy, he likes her, it’s just so frustrating.” You can’t seem to breathe properly, your lungs seem to be constricted, blocking your ability to breathe, you feel so disgusted with yourself it’s not even funny.
“Well…if he doesn’t like you he’s obviously not worth the effort.” Shoto says monotonously, placing his left hand on your back and rubbing slowly, affectionately, it’s the most he’s ever touched you.
You scream out of frustration, why does nobody understand!? “it’s not just about the damn boy,” you pause trying to gain stability, “it’s everything, it’s always Momo this, Momo that, I’m tired, Todoroki,” he lifts his hand slightly, the unfamiliar sound of his last name leaving your mouth, “I just want someone to want me, I want someone to care for me, it’s not fair I always have to share everything. Half our class barely even knows my name, I’m never chosen to be on any teams, you and Momo are my only friends, and I don’t know what to do at this point because I want someone to choose me for once.”
“I want you. I chose you.” He tries to soothe you, continuing to rub his hand over your back.
“It’s not the same.”
“Why?”
“Because you like her better.”
And for the rest of the evening you both watch the movies in silence.
-
The next time you and Todoroki meet, Uraraka and Midoriya join you.
And Todoroki Shoto is late. For the first time in your eight month long friendship, he’s late.
“Where were you, Shoto?” You ask him as soon as you see him.
“I was giving Momo my sweater, it was getting cold, didn’t want her to freeze.” He mumbles, and there’s your daily reminder that you and Todoroki are just not going to happen.
“Mm, a sweater,” you attempt to joke, and Uraraka giggles.
“It’s just polyester.” He replies.
“Damn, she really has you mesmerised, doesn’t she?” you giggle as you turn away.
-
“So…what’s the plan?” Midoriya asks.
“We’re trying to help get Shoto to confess.” You tell him.
“Please don’t mention this meeting ever again.” Todoroki says.
“Hmm, I’d say describe your feelings? Like when I confessed to Izuku, I told him things I liked about him? Like how his hair reminds me of a broccoli,” Uraraka says, squishing Midoriya’s cheeks.
“I still don’t understand that, but anyway…s-sorry I forgot your name, what was it?” Midoriya asks.
A pang of hurt hits you, damn, you were right…you’re not even second best, your just nothing.
“___.” You tell him, and slowly but surely Shoto’s hand wraps around yours, tightening and squeezing in reassurance.
“Sorry, I’m not that great with names, ___, but I was thinking…how romantic does it have to be? Because knowing Todoroki…yeah…you get what I mean. I mean, I’m sorry Todoroki, you’re a great dude but I rarely even see you smile.” Midoriya says.
“Shut up.” And you almost laugh, because that’s your Shoto…but then you realise; he’s not your Shoto.
“Okay but anyway, you don’t want it to be too romantic, but you want it to be genuine, you know? Like…how about…you…name some things about some guy you like? Maybe it’ll help him?” You sigh as you realise Uraraka has forgotten your name, and it takes everything to not start bawling when Shoto’s hand squeezes yours again.
“Um, well, I like his eyes, they’re so pretty, like a contrast between the ocean on a sunny day, and a stormy day, he’s much taller than me, it makes me feel tiny and small every time he looks down at me, not to mention how he was one of the only people, excluding Momo, to notice me and care about me, his hair always covers his eyes but it never seems to bother him for some reason, and he’s really oblivious about how I feel too…” You trail off, focussing on how not to make it obvious you’re in love with Todoroki, but when Shoto’s hand falls out of yours so effortlessly, you immediately stop talking.
The entire table is in absolute silence.
“Wow…you…really, really like this guy…” Uraraka says, but the expression on her and Midoriya’s face tells you they’ve already figured you out, and the unfortunately concerned look in her eyes tells you it’s hopeless.
“But, er…” Midoriya trails off, trying to remember your name, and you want to scream.
“___. Her name is ___, it’s not that hard to remember.” Shoto grits his teeth.
Something tells you they’ll both be remembering your name for a while now.
But even as you move on onto other topics, you can’t help but shake the feeling that you’re being watched, and as you turn around you see a blonde boy with bright hazel eyes staring at you.
-
The rest of the night continues as it did before, changing from talking about the confession to talking about…normal things, you suppose, and you’re about to leave with Shoto, just as someone taps you on the shoulder.
You turn around to see a boy around your age, dyed blonde hair with curtains and hazel eyes that shine brighter than the sun, the same one from earlier.
“Hey…___, right? We’re in the same Math class.” He knows your name, he knows your name.
“Yeah, that’s me.” You tell him, a hopefully look on your eyes.
“I was wondering…are you…single?” He asks.
“Unfortunately so.” You blush.
“Oh, thank god, so would you…ever consider going on a date with me? I mean I know we don’t know each other or anything…but…”
“I don’t even know your name,” you tease him, his cheeks burning bright red.
“My name is Akio,” He tells you pushing a hand forward for you to shake, “so will you go on a date with me?”
You’re not done with Shoto, and of course, it’s probably not going to happen any time soon, but this boy seems to be nice, somewhat. This could be your chance to start anew, change the fact that you’re never someone’s first choice; you could finally get rid of the dead weight you’re holding on. You look around the table, at Uraraka and Shoto specifically, and while Shoto really couldn’t seem to care less about the situation at hand (which is what you insinuate from the expression on his face) Uraraka seems so pleasantly surprised and just one look at her expression gives you the comfort of knowing you should say yes.
“Okay,”
“Is tomorrow okay? Here? After school?”
“Yes, that’s fine!”
“Yeah, okay, let’s go, ___,” you hear Shoto grunt, pulling you out of the restaurant.
“Was that the guy you were talking about? I didn’t know he was so…”
You’re not quite sure what to say…so you just agree.
“Yeah, yeah, that’s him…I guess he does like me after all.”
“I’ll be honest…I was really hoping he didn’t like you.”
“You want him to like Momo instead, then?” You don’t understand…why couldn’t he be happy for you?
“No, but I don’t think he’s the kind of person you’d want to date.”
You walk the rest of the way back to your dorm in silence.
-
So surely, you show up the next day, after school, same place, you even dressed up for today, quickly changing into a short dress, letting your hair down and even applying lipstick and mascara for the sake of looking presentable.
You stand outside of the restaurant for ten minutes, he doesn’t seem to be coming any time soon so you decide to go inside, expecting to see him sitting at a table, but when you realise he isn’t here yet, you head inside to grab a table and wait for a while.
Ten minutes pass, Akio doesn’t show up, you assume he got held behind.
Ten minutes turn into twenty, twenty turn into forty, and forty turns into a whole hour and a whole hour turns into two hours and you’re starting to get sympathetic looks from the people around you, even the workers gave you sympathy and gave you a free meal.
And as you eat your burger and fries, you realise Akio was never even planning on showing up.
And you know now that maybe you should have trusted Shoto’s judgement.
-
The next day, you’re barely strong enough to get yourself up to go to school, and when you do…well you wish you had given in and just stayed in your dorm.
The door to your classroom bursts open, everyone expecting your teacher walk through but instead seeing a group of boys that you’ve seen amongst the school halls, and amongst the group you notice the blond head that stood you up yesterday, and your head immediately goes to Shoto’s seat, only to see he wasn’t here yet, and again to Momo’s seat, but as soon as Momo saw you, she looked away, face flushing a light pink colour.
“Ah, dear, ___,” Akio smirks, snickering along with his group of friends, “Did you really think anyone would actually want to go on a date with you?”
Truth is, you should’ve known, and you want to say something to Akio, you do, but you don’t, you can’t because he’s right.
“You’re honestly a disgrace; you really went to the same place after school thinking I’d be there for our date…what a bloody fool.” He cackles.
You don’t really want to hear this, all it’s doing is make you want to face the truth…and truth is you’re not ready for that…everyone in the classroom is quiet…even the exploding ball of anger, Bakugo, is quiet, and all you can do is wish that Shoto was here, but what would he do? Scare them off? Exactly. You’re on your own.
And what infuriates you the most is that even your best friend since childhood, Momo, of all people isn’t saying anything, everyone’s just watching it happen, watching the events unfold in absolute silence.
But you can’t hold it in anymore, and the sobs start racking your body.
“Aw, that’s cute…she’s crying.” And they just laugh more, and that’s when you decide to leave, just when Todoroki steps into the room, and all you can hear is Uraraka and Midoriya’s voices calling for you.
-
“___?” You hear Uraraka’s sweet voice call out.
You try and hold in your sobs in the echoing toilet stand, not wanting to be found just yet.
“Can you let me in please? I just want to talk?”
You open the door to the stall, letting Uraraka in.
“I’m sorry, ___, I didn’t know he would stand you up, I genuinely thought he was interested in you, I wouldn’t have encouraged it if I didn’t think he was-”
“It’s okay, Uraraka.” She starts stroking your hair, something you haven’t had done to you in ages, and tears start leaking again, “Besides, Todoroki and Midoriya took care of them, you know,” she giggles.
“Really?” You ask.
“Yeah, they took care of them, don’t worry…Look, I know, it’s difficult with…Momo and Todoroki…and I know how you feel, but he really does care you know? I can tell, I’m not sure whether it’s friendly or…more…but he does care as much as he might seem like he doesn’t…he’s just not good with feelings…I mean…do you remember how he described his feelings for Momo?” She starts giggling, and for a brief moment, you laugh too.
“’her hair reminds me of a spider web….it’s just so big…and it like never breaks…’” you laugh.
“’she reminds me of a very old tree…wise and somewhat tall’” Uraraka laughs.
“He does care you know…he wasn’t happy when he saw Akio, and he wasn’t…exactly nice either, Akio’s recovering in the medical room now…” oh.
You’re not quite sure what’s going on with Shoto at the moment, but when you figure it out, maybe you’ll finally be at peace with yourself, even if it’s only for a moment.
-
The next time you see Todoroki Shoto, he’s climbing through your window, and you barely heard the noise he was making due to you blasting Heather- by Conan Gray, crying out your heart.
“Shoto, what the hell?” You say, wiping your tears away.
“You weren’t answering your door so I decided to…” he points at the window.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” You says.
“’s okay,” he says, “anyway, we haven’t really talked about the confession lately, so I came here.”
“Oh, oh, right, should we continue with some movies? Or maybe practice it on me? Your choice, you’re the one confessing.”
“I just want to watch movies, I think.” You expected it.
“Do you have your notebook? Or your pen?”
“No.” You don’t ask why as you both continue to watch from where you last left off.
You both end up sleeping in your bed and running late for class that night, but (unbeknownst to you) in his eyes, it was worth it.
-
When you next meet Shoto, you’re with Momo, awkward tension filled in the air around you, and you don’t know what it is, but it’s almost worse than it was before you started discussing Shoto’s confession.
“So…It’s been a while since we’ve all hung out together…what’s new?” You ask, trying to ease the tension.
“What’s new is that you don’t seem to be acting like a best friend anymore.”
What?
“Momo, what do you mean?” You ask
“Best friends don’t date each other’s crushes.” Is she joking?
“I’m not…what?” You’re confused to the max right now, and Todoroki seems to not be able to say anything either.
“Forget it. I’m leaving.” Well, okay, then.
“I’m sorry, ___, I don’t know what’s wrong with her.” Before getting up and leaving as well.
And well, you’ve decided maybe going through all this effort to make sure Momo and Todoroki happy is just not worth it if it puts you at stake.
-
When you meet Todoroki next after the incident, it’s by the sea shore, you’re both sitting in the sand, a small wave coming by to touch your toes every few seconds. He’s shirtless, just wearing swimming trunks, and you’re in a black swimsuit, wearing Shoto’s shirt over it (it’s way too big for you but you’ll wear it because it’s his anyway).
“So tomorrow’s the day you finally tell her, huh,” you want to be happy for him…but you can’t.
“Yeah…something like that…” he sighs.
“I think you’ll be okay.” You tell him, “Just go with what you feel, even if it’s not perfect, at least it’s genuine.”
“Right.” Slowly, a smirk forms on Shoto’s face, his hand slowly reaching towards the water and splashing water all over you. Ah, so he wants war.
You splash water straight back at him, and he you, and it continues like this for a while until you both finally stop, giggles leaving your mouth and it makes you realise exactly why you love him.
You stare at him, eyes flickering down to his lips, and you just know…you need to know what it feels like to be loved by Shoto, even if it’s for a second, because after tomorrow, all hope would be lost for you.
Please don’t hate me, please don’t hate me, please don’t hate me, it’s all that’s ringing through your head as you push your lips against his, his hand coming up to grab your jaw, gently caressing your jaw line.
He’s kissing you back! He’s kissing you back! He’s…kissing you back…?
Surprisingly, he keeps it going, making the kiss deeper and deeper, and one kiss turns to two, two to three, and then finally you pull away, guilt coating your insides.
“I’m sorry,” you tell him.
“What was that for?” He asks
“Me. It was for me.” You pause, “What was that for?”
“Me. It was for me.”
-
Today’s the day, and the weather seems to really match your personality, it’s been raining since last night, and you don’t think it’s going to stop any time soon by the looks of it, but it’s okay…it’s not like you have school today anyway, and you’d rather stay at home today than run into Todoroki and Momo during their date, or worse; seeing them do some cute romantic couple-y shit.
You’ve come to terms with the fact that you’re probably never going to be a first choice, but it’s not that big of a deal, you had your moment with Shoto, and that’s all you really want for the time being, you’re satisfied.
Hours pass, you can’t bring yourself to get out of bed, instead just sitting up and reading a book, crying your eyes out as Rue dies in the Hunger Games.
You’re just reading the end of the book when you get a text from Shoto.
Hello, can you let me in?
You’re reluctant at first, assuming he just wants to tell you about Momo, but you begrudgingly lift yourself off your bed to open the door, not caring that you look like you have a hangover.
“Hi.” His gray and turquoise eyes stare down at you, your heart constricting and throat tightening at just his stare.
“Hi. How’d it go? Did you steal her heart?” You attempt to joke.
“…No, I think I broke it…” what? “Sit down, ___.” You take three long strides to sit down on your bed, pulling him along with you.
“What happened? I thought you wanted this?”
“I had to tell her the truth.”
“And what’s that?”
“That I don’t love her.”
“So I wasted two weeks on preparing you for this…for nothing?” You ask, you’ll never tell him, but you’re a little glad he broke her heart.
“Not for nothing…yesterday…when we…”
“Oh. Did I confuse you? Because you don’t need to worry about that, I know I should have asked, but I just wanted to know…what it felt like to be loved by you…”
“No, it’s okay, I enjoyed it, I mean obviously, I mean I was the one to continue it, and I mean I knew I wasn’t in love with Momo the first night when we were watching movies, but yesterday, I just knew I couldn’t go through with it,” your heart is beating violently in your chest, almost as if it’s threatening to jump out, “When you were telling me about how you were in love with a boy that loved Momo, it made me…it just irked me the wrong way, I don’t know why but I just knew that if I really loved Momo, it wouldn’t make me feel the way I did. And then at the restaurant…well you get it.”
“Shoto, what are you trying to tell me?” You breathe heavily, trying to control the breathing in your chest.
“I love you, no, I’m in love with you, I love Momo…but it’s nothing compared to how I feel towards you, and I think, even if you don’t return my feelings, I’m okay with that, because I don’t think I’ll be able to get rid of these feelings any time soon if not at all.”
“Well, I mean at least we know that my lessons worked on you,” you nervously laugh, he lets out a smile.
“So…do you?”
“I think…I love you, no, I’m in love with you,” you tease, squishing his cheeks as he laughs, “but you know…I heard you dealt with Akio.” Shoto stays quiet, a mild blush covering his cheeks. “You know, at first I thought it was a joke, but then I saw the bandages all the way up his arm in the hallways, and the broken leg…Shoto, what did you do?”
“It was Midoriya’s idea.”
“Mm, Midoriya barely talks to his girlfriend without stuttering, you really think he can break someone’s leg without being in a high-pressure situation?”
“He had it coming.”
“Do you even know what he did?”
“No, but from what I saw…he deserved it.”
“Shoto.”
“Mm?”
“Thank you for doing..what you did, even if I don’t like that you were violent.”
“…And I’d do it again.”
“Shoto-.”
-
You didn’t want to have to do this, but you think that the two of you deserve to talk it out.
You and Momo haven’t talked in three weeks, three weeks since you and Shoto became…well you don’t know what you are but it’s much closer than best friends at least, there’s no official label to it, but you’re content at the moment.
“Momo.” You call her name as soon as she sits down at your table.
“___.”
“It’s been a while.”
“Yeah. I think we should…look, I’m sorry I didn’t know, I would have backed off immediately if you had told me you’d been in love with him since the beginning,” Momo heaves, a crestfallen expression painted on her face.
“Momo, I’m sorry, I’m just so used to you having everything, I kind of wanted to have something for myself, I can’t tell you how much it hurt me when I saw him slowly falling in love with you, because I was hoping he’d be my little secret, something I didn’t have to share. I know it seems selfish, but I can’t help it.” You don’t want to cry, but something’s urging you.
“___, this is why…this is why I want you to be more vocal, I’ve known you’ve been insecure this whole time, but I didn’t want to say anything because…well, partially I liked all the attention I received, it was addicting and I felt good, I felt popular and special, but you suffered because of my selfish tendencies, and I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to do that, I didn’t mean to make you feel like that.” It hit you hard. So she knew? This whole time she knew?
“Momo, even I have to admit…it’s a little bit selfish, and it’s annoying, because this whole time I thought you genuinely didn’t know how I felt.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-” she sighs, tears welling up in her eyes, “It feels so stupid now, I was so stupid, and the fact that I had a feeling you had feelings for Todoroki and I still decided to try my shot- you know, I had a feeling he liked you all along, from the moment I decided to talk to him, I’ll be honest with you, ___, I don’t think he ever liked me, or even loved me, those ‘lessons’ you two had were probably because he needed a reason to spend more time with you.” Momo had been selfish, at least you had figured that out, but you can’t deny how good it feels to finally be honest between the two of you, and with what she was telling you about Shoto- you had a feeling Todoroki had been lying a little, but the more you think about it; you hadn’t seen Shoto pick up his pen once during the films you watched, and if he did you surely never heard the sound of his pen scribbling away at the paper, the way he so awkwardly described Momo when you met up with Uraraka and Midoriya, and the way he was frustrated by Akio, and the way he so willingly kissed you back at the beach…you’re not sure if you’re looking too deep or not deep enough,
But that’s not what you need to be thinking about right now, right now, you and Momo need to set shit straight.
“___, I’m sorry, I love you, you’ll always be my best friend, whether or not you forgive me, I hope you know that I had no intentions to hurt you.”
“Yaoyorozu, maybe at some point, we can be friends again like we used to be, but for now, I want to keep some distance, I just want a little peace, I want to see what it’s like to be on my own.”
“O-Okay, that’s okay, I can do that, we can do that, thank you.”
“I love you, too, by the way.”
And you won’t forget the smile the smile that graces her face afterwards.
-
“So I heard…from my pet fish…that Todoroki Shoto, happened to have a crush on me before our lessons.”
“Does your pet fish happen to be called Yaoyorozu Momo?”
“Maybe…” You trail off, playing with Shoto’s red-white hair and placing kisses around his scar.
“I’m honestly surprised you didn’t figure it out sooner, I thought maybe it was obvious I was lying to you a little bit when I came to you three weeks ago.” A sweet sigh leaves Shoto’s lips as you pepper his face with kisses.
“Shoto, I couldn’t pick up the fact you liked me even after our kiss, also you called me a deflated whale when we first met, do you really think-”
“Does it really matter how long I liked you? I mean I thought it was obvious that this whole time I was using our lessons to spend more time with you, besides, even if I didn’t use our lessons for Momo, at least…at least they came in use at the end,” Shoto sits up and pulls out the notebook he brought with him the first time he came around, flipping through the pages showing you all his notes that seemed to be centred around you, and the terrible (don’t worry I won’t tell him you thought that) drawings of you he had attempted, it was so wholesome you thought you might burst into tears.
“Besides, asking why you looked like a deflated whale when you were sad was just an excuse to talk to you anyway. It kind of frustrated me when you started crying about how you were never someone’s first choice.”
“Why?” God you’re so clueless.
“Because you’ve always been my first choice, even if I didn’t show it.”

Change Your Ticket (Grayson Dolan Fanfic)
A/N: kinda embarassed to say that this is inspired by the 1d song 😬 but hey when you get inspo you just gotta write even if it’s not great lmao
basically Grayson and Y/N meet up every once and a while at conventions and sneak away to a hotel to get nasty (can I be more cringey) but Grayson’s starting to want something more~
Anyways thanks for reading ly <3
Grayson’s bed head spread messily across his pillow, one of his arms buried comfortably under it. It wasn’t the rustling of the bed that woke him up, or the slight opening of the curtains causing the light to dance across his forehead, but the sound of footsteps tiptoeing across the floor, then the thump of a cell phone dropping onto the floor. Suddenly he felt like there was an empty void right next to him.
Grayson groaned. He stretched his arm out, groping for the warmth of an arm, a waist, a face, and finally opened his eyes when he was met with the cold comforter.
“Y/N?” He said groggily, turning around under the covers, then bringing his hands up to rub the sleep out of his eyes.
“Shit.” She said quietly under her breath, bending down to pick up her phone and place it on the night table.
“Come back to bed...” he said.
There was no response. Grayson finally sat up, him resting his back against the headboard and stretching his arms. He finally took a look at her, noticing that she was in just a t-shirt and her underwear, holding a pair of jeans in her arms.
He blinked. “What... are you doing?”
She sighed, stepping into the jeans and pulling them up her legs. “I was trying to leave before you woke up.” She buttoned the clasp.
Grayson ran a hand through his tangled hair. “..oh?” He tilted his head at her, watching her run her fingers through her hair, trying to get the knots out best she could without having a brush on her. “Why’s that?”
She turned around, sighing as she did. “You know why.” She placed a few bobby pins between her teeth, then began pulling her strands of hair back up into a ponytail.
“That doesn’t mean I like it.” He threw the covers off of him, planting his bare feet on the cold hardwood floor. He was wearing nothing but a pair of boxers, and he could tell by the way that Y/N awkwardly avoided looking at him that he should feel self-conscious about that. But he didn’t, because it was her.
“That’s not my fault, Grayson.” She scanned the tables of the hotel room, then went to look at Grayson but froze, embarrassed.
“Is my hair tie on the bed?” She asked, not looking at him.
He hated that her eyes wouldn’t find him. He flipped the covers and pillows over and found the simple black elastic on the mattress. He thought about how she confidently slipped it off last night, throwing it away carelessly in the heat of the moment.
He handed it to her now, and she reached for it while keeping her eyes trained at the floor. She turned away from him, facing the mirror now, pulling the elastic over her hair and tying it up. She stood there, looking at herself in the mirror for a moment, but really looking at Grayson sitting on the bed behind her through the reflection. He stared at her back, her day-old t-shirt and bare feet, only reminding him more of what he couldn’t have.
“Do you have to go?”
He watched her shoulders tense up, her fingers scrunching up into balls at his question. She took a deep breath, relaxing. She went to search the floor, grabbing her socks as well as Grayson’s t-shirt.
“You know I have to.”
She threw the shirt at him, it landing against his chest and fell safely into his lap. He didn’t touch it, not wanting to admit that she really had to go. She walked over to the edge of the bed, the farthest she could sit away from him, and pulled on her socks.
“Y/N...”
“Grayson, you should know how this works by now.” She huffed, finally looking at him. “We get one night. It’s suspicious enough that we did it the last day.”
“But why?” He shifted over on the bed, sitting closer to her. “Why only one night?”
“Grayson...”
“Come on,” he placed a tentative hand on her thigh. “Give me one good reason.”
“We can’t afford any more than that.”
“Why? Because you work with another YouTuber?”
“Grayson, don’t be dumbass.”
“Then why? Do you not like me?” He implored.
She laughed. “What’s that supposed to mean? We just spent the night together.”
“Not like that. Like...” he looked at her, the question burning through her. She really looked at him, his beautiful face waiting for an answer, his toned body rigid.
She sighed, then stood up. “I’ll see you later. Gray.”
He grabbed her wrist. “Don’t go.”
She turned around, exasperated. “Grayson, seriously.”
“Please, Y/N I can’t do this anymore.” He pleaded. “All this sneaking around, meeting up at conventions, leaving parties early, finding the nearest hotel— it’s not enough. I want more time with you.“
She stood silent, contemplating. What could she do? There was something about him that set her heart on fire, that sparked this dangerous need and want that couldn’t be extinguished by anybody else. But it was so risky. This was already bad enough-
“Grayson, I can’t-“
“Don’t leave me alone again, Y/N.” He was standing now, holding both of her hands in his. “It gets worse every time. I keep thinking, it’ll get better. Any time with you is good, right? But I can’t.” His hands traveled up her arms to cup her face. “I can’t handle watching you walk out that door every. Single. Time. It breaks me. So please...” he lowered his face down, his nose touching hers. “Don’t go.”
She breathed against his lips, her eyes searching his for what he wanted, what he needed. And she could see what they were saying:
I need you.
She leaned in, kissing his soft lips with a hunger she didn’t even realize she had. Grayson let out an unexpected moan, and that set her loose. She threw caution to the wind, letting her arms travel his bare chest and his broad back, tugging at the roots of his hair.
They finally pulled away, breathless.
“Stay with me for the weekend.” Grayson whispered against her lips.
Her eyes widened, and she almost laughed. “Are you serious?”
“More than I’ve ever been.” He held his arms strongly around her waist and lower back.
She then let that laugh escape. “And what am I supposed to tell the guys when I don’t show up for two days?”
“You tell them you were busy, doing something much more important.” He kissed her lips again, twice, three times until the smile on her face wouldn’t let him anymore.
“Shut the fuck up. Don’t be an idiot.” She leaned away from him, letting herself take his face in. “You have to go home too.”
“I found something more important to do.”
“Oh my god, Grayson.” She released herself from his grasp. The fact that he was wearing almost nothing wasn’t helping. “Look, even if I would agree to this, I’m going back home tomorrow morning. I have a flight to get on.”
“Then you delay your flight.” He said, crossing his broad arms.
“Do you think I’m made of money?” She laughed.
“I’ll do it for you.”  He placed his right arm on her waist and his left on her cheek, tilting her head so he could peck her lips again.
She smiled. “Well now, you're just showing off.”
He rolled his eyes at her “I’m being serious. Stay here with me.” He peppered her cheek and jaw lines with kisses.
She moaned a little, letting her hands rest gently on his chest. “Grayson, we can’t.”
“If it’s the hotel you’re worried about, I don’t think they’ll mind. I plan on tipping very generously.”
She laughed.
“Stop thinking about what happens next.” He kissed her neck. “Just two days. You and me.” He straightened up to look at her. “Who knows when I’ll get to see you again?”
She didn’t respond, she couldn’t respond. Even if she really did want to stay, which she would never admit, she couldn’t, right? All she could do was look down at her tense arms against his chest, unable to meet his eyes.
His eyes fell and his shoulders slumped all at once. He released her, stepping back to run two hands through his hair.
“God, why do you have to do this to me?” He held his face in his hands for a moment, rubbing his eyes. “I can’t keep doing this Y/N, it’s just too hard. You can’t keep leaving me like this.”
She rubbed her arm. “I don’t...”
It’s not even like it’s me, yknow?” He turned to her. “You’re always the one who comes and finds me. I thought that would mean something. That you might want more.” He sank back into the mattress cushion. “But I guess that’s my fault for over analyzing, right?”
She coughed. “I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“But you do, Y/N.” he pleaded.
She had nothing to say.
He groaned. “Is this all its every going to be? Our relationship? You find me every three months or so, we have sex, and then you’re gone? That’s it?”
Now she was getting pissed. He was painting her to be the bad guy. “I didn’t realize this was bothering you so much.”
He laughed, but there was no smile in his eyes. “Are you for real? You’ve always thought I was cool with this?”
“Well, you’ve never mentioned otherwise!” She threw her arms in the air. “I thought you were into it. We’re passionate and intimate and the longing makes it worth it, doesn’t it?”
“You know that’s bullshit.”
She gaped at him. “So you’re saying you haven’t enjoyed yourself at all? This was just some sort of chore for you all this time?”
“No, of course not. Jesus, no.” He got up and walked over to her, holding her elbows. “I love seeing you. You’re amazing. This is always the best part of any trip, and it’s not even part of the conventions!” He was finally able to get a laugh out of her, easing the conversation once more.
“But you have to have known all this time, right?” He searched her eyes for an answer. “We go out to fancy diners, we get breakfast, I take you to movies and carnivals and- you think I’m gonna do all of that for a sex buddy?”
She tensed at those words. Is that what I think?  “I don’t know...”
His arms fell to his side, but her hands lingered a little bit before leaving his chest. She crossed her arms, looking at the cold floor between her feet. “I’m sorry, Gray.”
He exhaled. “Damn it, Y/N.” he left her side, walking back over to the bed and picking up his shirt. He turned it inside out then pulled it on, facing away from her.
Her heart fell in her chest. “Grayson, please...”
“Please what?” He didn’t turn to her, just picked up his jeans off the floor and pulled them on.
Look at me, She thought. just look at me. I don’t know how to say I’m sorry. “Please don’t be angry with me.”
He turned around rapidly “I’m not-“ he said with a sharp tone, but then breathed out in frustration. “I’m not angry.” He buttoned up his jeans. “I could never be angry with you.”
“No, don’t say that.” She walked up to him, gently shoving his chest. “You’re not allowed to say that. that’s not fair.”
“What?”
“Be angry with me. I don’t want it to be weird the next time.”
Grayson sighed and scratched the back of his neck. “I don’t think there’s gonna be a next time.”
Her heart fell to the pit of her stomach. “What?”
“...I don’t think we should see each other anymore.”
She stood there motionless, her heart now shattered, the pieces poking into her stomach. It hurt. “What is that supposed to mean?”
He tilted his head at her, watching, but not responding.
“What the fuck, Grayson?” She shoved his chest again, but this time with more force. “You can’t just do that!”
“What? I can’t make sure that I don’t get myself hurt again?” He stumbled back, a bit stunned by her response.
“Gray...” her voice cracked ever so slightly.
“How many times do I have to say it, Y/N? I can’t do this. I can’t do this anymore.”
“You can’t do that to me, Gray.”
“Then why do you keep doing it to me?” He shouted. Y/N flinched. Tears began to trickle through her eyes. He had scared her.
His eyes widened. “Oh god, no...” he stepped towards her, enveloping her in his arms. “Y/N, please...”
They stood there like that for a while. In silence. Y/N, staring at the wall over Grayson’s shoulder, trying not to let that tear fall. Because if it did, that meant this was real, and she had accepted it.
Grayson’s arms were firmly wrapped around her back. He knew it probably wasn’t a good idea, but what could he do? This was Y/N.
Her dormant arms finally made their way to his chest, clutching the thin fabric of his T-shirt in her fists. She needed to hold him somewhere, and it was the most she could muster.
But then he started rubbing her back gently, and she broke down. She buried her face into his shoulder, letting a sob escape her throat.
Grayson’s heart climbed up into his throat. “Oh, angel...” he stroked the hairs on the back of her head, trying to soothe her.
He sighed. “I didn’t mean it.” He kissed the top of her head. “I don’t think I could ever leave you if I tried.” He laughed dryly.
She breathed in sharply. “You’re such an asshole.”
She obviously didn’t mean that, but she was embarrassed. This was never something important enough to cry about. She made sure of it, always keeping Grayson as arms length. But what did she know? She was young, and stupid, and thought she was doing right by him, not getting too involved. With their work and what they do, it couldn’t work.
But it’s not like she could help herself. Every time her team went to any sort of event or social gathering, she found herself always searching, waiting for him. She’d fooled herself into thinking she didn’t need it to be anymore. But she couldn’t keep lying to herself.
She groaned. “I’m sorry.”
“No, Y/N.” Grayson buried his nose in her hair. “I’m sorry.”
How did she not realize it sooner?
“God, I’m so stupid.” She let go of his shirt to wipe the tears from her eyes.
“No, you’re not.” He leaned back so he could look at her face. He brought a hand up to wipe a tear off of her cheek.
Y/N looked at his eyes, really looked, for what seemed like the first time. She could see all the anger and disappointment was gone; they were soft. They were the colour of the sky. And they cared, so much.
“God, I’m so sorry.” She wrapped her arms around his neck, closing her eyes tightly.
Grayson was, to put it lightly, speechless. He didn’t know what to do. He’d never seen Y/N like this before. All he knew was that he wanted her to feel better, because seeing her like this hurt. He tightened his arms around her back and buried his nose into her shoulder, inhaling her scent.
“I can’t lose you, Gray.” She pulled away from him finally, looking at him directly in the eyes. His eyes widened at those words. “I just never realized how badly I can’t. I’ve always felt like you’d be here. I need you to be here.”
He was about to respond but was cut off when Y/N kissed his lips, letting herself melt into it. She scrunched her eyes closed, but finally relaxed when she felt him kiss her back just as strongly.
She pulled away, more exhilarated than ever. “I want to stay with you. For the weekend.”
Grayson’s mouth fell open. “I.. really?”
She smiled. “Yes.”
”you’re sure.”
“Yes!” She laughed.
He grinned, picking her up from her waist and spinning her around, laughing in return.
He set her down and kissed her again, flushed with relief and just an overwhelming feeling of love for this girl. “What are you going to tell the others?” He asked finally after pulling away from her.
She smiled. “That I have something more important to do.”

Brand New Day. . .
I'm genuinely not ready for AoS to be over.
Fitz! Fitz! Fitz! I knew I missed Fitz a lot, but seeing him again made me realize just how much! God, I honestly squealed at the sound of his voice and the sight of his face. And I'm not embarrassed by that, I know the entire fandom collectively squealed and screamed and died. I might've also felt a little wrecked when they flashed back to the old Fitzsimmons scenes. And I'm trying real hard not to think about that blood work line. Nope, not happening. I hope they're just misleading us.
"Live, together. No mission. No more end of the world. We could just be."
"I don't want to forget. I don't want to forget. I don't want to forget."
How is it that Fitzsimmons only had like, two scenes, and they still managed to break my heart? Iain and Elizabeth are truly something else. They just radiate emotion on screen; you can't help but feel everything. It's always so intensely beautiful. So back when they revealed that Jemma had to block her memories, because she can't know, I remember very briefly thinking, 'oh, what if she forgets everything?' But I was like, no, not even AoS...No. But alas. Of course the writers decided to do that.
And even though I'm sure (I hope) they'll be fine and they were just being smart by "temporarily erasing or hiding?" Jemma's memories; I still gasped in utter pain, and my jaw dropped for like a minute and I had to pause the episode, when Jemma said, "Fitz? Who's Fitz?" It hurt. It hurt really, really bad.
So this show is really good at introducing characters; I don't remember ever hating a new character. Not everyone watches/has watched Agent Carter, for a lot of fans Daniel Sousa is a new character, and damn, do they make it easy to love Danny boy. Daisy and Sousa - Take notes TV show writers, that's how you write a final season-new ship. Their scenes were pure perfection. The amount of Daisy smiles we got! They have such a fantastic chemistry; the kind that makes you grin and blush and feel giddy on the inside. I'm in love with everything they are, and the potential of everything they could be. Because it is very new and very exciting, and I love that the show is treating it as such.
I even loved the Mack and Sousa scene. I only say even, 'cause I despise the cringey, sexist "what's your intention?" But no, not with AoS, it was just awesomely hilarious and not at all serious, and it was truly just Mack making sure that Daisy is okay without any disrespect to her. Also, Quake is a great superhero name, you adorable square.
A little too much Nathaniel and Kora for me (though, I kinda understand why.) Still, i feel like some scenes could've been cut. Like that atrocious kiss.
And that parallel between May and Coulson watching the S.H.I.E.L.D. bases get destroyed, and the couple of times they’d watched when they’d destroyed Hydra, was cool an very sad!
Okay, I kid you not, I jumped in absolute JOY when Daisy called Jemma her sister, like, we all already knew it, but hearing it from Daisy in canon was ridiculously heartwarming. Hands down, one of my favorite moments of the entire series! I'm still smiling, just thinking about it! I loved it so much; you have no idea!
I'm still waiting on some May and Daisy scenes! We have to get them.
The Mack and Daisy partner/sibling dynamic has always been one of my favorite things on AoS. And I missed their talks so much, the only missing thing from their scene was Mack calling her Tremors; I hope that happens before the show ends. Their scene was as emotional as it was funny. Chloe was so amazing!
"You are my family. I don't know who I am without you guys." I swear, I felt my heart squeeze painfully in my chest. Daisy's gonna take it the hardest, for sure. But like Mack said, it's okay. Hopefully for them, not for me though; I'll be in denial forever.
All the character moments in this episode! They were beyond wonderful and perfect, 10/10, honestly. But they were also so painful, because it all felt so. . .final.
And now I'm so emotionally confused because I cannot wait for next week, but I also don’t want Wednesday to come. Seriously, I can't fathom that it's the series finale. I’m so distraught.

PRIVATE EMOTION
A goodbye letter from Robbe to Sander while he’s been battling with HIV/AIDS
My dearest, the breath of my life, the reason of my whole well-being, my eternal love...
Sander,
I’m writing this letter because, God knows how, I’m feeling healthy enough to do something. It just occured to me that I need to give you a proper goodbye when my lips can’t say it, for obvious reason. So, when you read this, it means that I’m already... departed. Dead. Passed away. Whatever you want to call it.
And I’m sorry—I’m sorry that what you’ll be having of me from today forward is only the memory—whether it’s good or bad, I’m sorry that I can’t be here listening to your melodious voice no more. In short, I’m sorry I left you.
But seriously, how do I even begin to describe you? How do I even begin to express how thankful I am because you’re still here with me? That’s right, I can’t. But I’m still gonna try because this is important to me. So I have to do it, no matter what.
Sander Driesen,
Your name will be forever feel like magic on my lips; almost like an elixir of life inside my rotten body. Just by saying your name over and over again like a prayer works wonder to me than any stupid ‘medications’ that I gotta take every single day.
Why do they have to treat me like this? I know I’m gonna die anyway, so... why? Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy that my parents are taking care of me to this extent but, no. They’re just buying me time and give these doctors more money for useless thing. Am I right, love? Well, you can tell me later in between your tears. I’ll listen from above, OR if God’s being generous enough, then I’ll be here lying beside you on our bed. Yes, OUR bed.
My Rebel Rebel prince,
If you ever feel like this life is unfair because it has treated you like this, or me, or US—I implore you, don’t. I may be sound like an absolute weirdo right now, but when I met you for the first time, saw your eyes, heard your voice, I’m not even scared of dying anymore. To be fair, I’ve never been a person who’s greedy enough to live before.
But when you held my already vulnerable body on Christmas Eve in your house’s backyard and said that you loved me, I became terrified. What would you become if I’m not here, returning your love, giving all I’ve got, listening to your cringey jokes to the most serious rants? All those horrible thoughts kept coming in short amount of time and I couldn’t stopped them. I almost gave up, I almost couldn’t said it back but I was tired of running, so I said “I love you too” and by the Gods, Sander, your smile after you heard that... with snowfall as the background, Christmast lights all around the neighborhood, you looked like a fairy; a fairy who’s made only for me.
God, there’s still so many things I want to say but somehow my body is getting weaker again, my hand is slightly trembling now. So I’m sorry if it’s gonna be a short goodbye letter. Please bear with me, alright? :)
Sander,
I beg you, please don’t cry too much, please don’t miss me too much, please don’t feel like you can do much more for me because you can’t—this is my life, with you in it and I couldn’t be more grateful. All that you’ve done for me is more than enough, you’ve done your best but the greatest miracle that you could give to me is you. Only you. Always. In every universe.
Believe me when I say that I can make this far is because of your love. Your strength. Your never ending affection. Your undying compassion. Your patience. What did I do to deserve any of that? To deserve YOU? Even if I die, maybe I can never find the absolute answer. And it’s fine.
Now, I really have to end this miserable letter. You’ll be here, probably less than 20 minutes and you’re always on time so I need some time to fold and hide this somewhere safe.
Know this, my bleached hair angel with black leather jacket,
I’ll always... always... and always... love you. With everything I have, everything I haven’t, everything I am, everything I’m not, until this body is coming back to the ground and decayed, until my very last breath, until I can’t say it anymore.
I LOVE YOU, Sander Driesen.
So, would you, could you, remember that?
Until we meet again in the afterlife,
Yours eternally,
Robbe.

The Mandalorian’s Everything -Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Story Masterlist
Warnings: Mild violence, mild sexual harassment but nothing too detailed, cringey writing, sickening amounts of fluff at times.
It was many years before the Mandalorian was given the mission to find the Child that he met Y/N. And what a day that was. A day that he could never, ever forget.
His bounty was a dangerous thief and murderer hiding out on the planet of Tatooine. This was going to be a breeze for the Mandalorian. He had fought enemies twice as big for pay half of what he was offered. But this was a lot of money, and he needed it.
He was walking through town on his way to the Cantina when he saw a beautiful woman on the side of the street. She looked to be washing the sand out of some clothes while talking to an elderly woman doing the same thing.
She had the most beautiful smile the Mandalorian had ever seen upon anyone's face. Her eyes were sparkling brighter than any star to exist, despite the poor life she seemed to be living. Her clothes were old rags that were falling apart in many places, there was dirt covering her hands and face, her soft hair was half done up in a braid, the bottom half flowing behind her, and her voice. My god, her voice. She laughed at something the other woman said, and he swears, he died right there.
But he had a mission to do, and he couldn't think about her. He shook his head and walked towards the Cantina, and instantly saw his target. The criminal was a Twi'lek with purple skin and  yellow eyes (a disadvantage for the target, major advantage for anyone trying to find him). The Twi'lek was obviously trying to hide beneath a cloak, but with these extreme temperatures it made it very difficult to do so.
The Mandalorian took a full sweep of the room. There were no other bounty hunters in sight, meaning he did not have to act quickly. He went to sit at one of the empty tables to keep an eye on the target until he left; the bounty hunter did not want to make a scene if he did not have to.
So, he took a seat in the back and told the waitress that he didn't want anything. That's when everything went to hell. The beautiful girl he saw before walked in and went behind the bar. Clearly she works many jobs to get enough money for something.
The girl put on an apron and picked up a tray. He saw his waitress from before leave, meaning this woman was going to be taking over serving him. She walked over, smiling very softly.
"Can I get you anything?" This girl knew that the man sitting before her was a Mandalorian, and he would not order anything because he can't take off his helmet. But, it was her job, so. Whatever.
The bounty hunter looked up at her face and felt his heart stop. Oh god. If he thought that she was beautiful from afar, she really did look like a goddess up close. He could make out some more features of her face, and he swears he fell in love with every single one of them.
But what the hell. This has never happened before. What the hell. He's been to plenty of clubs all over the galaxy for his work. He's seen women bathed head to toe in gold, practically drowning in diamonds, radiating their bodies and beauty. But he never thought about any of them. How could he, though, it's not like he could do anything with them.
But this woman? She spoke one sentence to him and he was hers. Just like that. If she asked him to jump off a bridge he would. If she asked him to fight a thousand rancors he would. If she asked him to take off his helmet... he probably would. For her. Cause then he could be with her. Oh my god, shut up. What the hell was he thinking? He's got a job to do, and plenty more after this one. There's no time for that.
"No thanks."
She nodded, and gave another gentle smile. "Let me know if you change your mind."
He gave her a curt nod of is head and went back to looking at his target, for he knew if he didn't he'd ask for something he would come to quickly regret.
She walked away towards another table, and the Mandalorian couldn't help but look back to admire the shape of her body. He quickly deduced that she was way too skinny due to starving on this planet, but he still could only find one word to describe it. Perfect.
He looked back to his assignment. He hadn't moved, just continued to drink his drink. It was about 20 minutes later that his problem escalated more. You see, the truth is that the Mandalorian was barely looking at his target at all. The truth is that he couldn't keep his eyes off the woman. She was just so positive and graceful with her movements. And clearly, he wasn't the only one thinking these thoughts.
It just so happened to be the target himself who wanted to woo the girl as well. And there was no way the bounty hunter was going to let that happen. The girl smiled as she placed another drink in front of the purple alien, but the Twi'lek had other ideas. He reached out and grabbed the girl's wrist, pulled her ear towards his mouth, and the Mandalorian clenched his fists so tightly together he thought his armour was going to break.
"You look good enough to eat, sweetheart. Why don't you get out of here with me. I'll show you a good time."
The girl tried to escape his hold as she responded, "I'm flattered, but no thank you. Now please let me go."
"Not gonna happen sweetheart." And he started to bite on her ear.
She was now desperately trying to yank her arm away. She even dropped her tray and swung a mean right hook to the Twi'lek's jaw with her free arm, but he wouldn't let loose.
With his heightened hearing in his helmet, the bounty hunter heard every word that was spoken, and was having none of it.
Though he felt an immense sense of pride that she managed to get a good hit in, he knew she couldn't win this fight; this was a murderer after all.
He made is way over in less than 4 steps and ripped the guy's hand off the girl's arm, and stood between them, protectively keeping the girl behind his back while he towered over the target.
He then grabbed the Twi'lek by the collar of his cloak and brought him up to his face.
"You're lucky the bounty is much better for you alive rather than dead. Touch her one more time and you will be a dead man. I wouldn't keep you alive for all the money in the galaxy."
He then grabbed the Twi'lek's arm and dragged him out of the Cantina all the way to his speed racer, punched him so he was knocked out, and tied him up 6 different ways so the target couldn't get away.
After tying up the now prisoner, the Mandalorian stood up and walked back to the Cantina. He spotted the girl wiping up a table, and instantly noticed the bruises forming on her wrists.
He walked up to her, and found his heart melting when she saw him and smiled.
"Are you alright?" he asked her.
She nodded and smiled again. "All thanks to you."
He shrugged and shook his head. "He was my target anyway."
"Still. You saved me, and for that I thank you. Is there any way I can repay you?"
He shook his head once more. "I'm just glad you're okay."
"Please. Let me take you back you my place. It's not much, but there's supposed to be a sandstorm tonight, and those can get very serious. Please."
The bounty hunter contemplated. He knew his ship was quite a distance away; he didn't want his ship to get recognized by other bounty hunters and steal his catch. He also knew that if the sandstorm the girl was talking about did happen, the prisoner would more than likely die. And he needed the money.
He looked down at the girl.
"Alright."
Her smile seemed to grow 10 times at that one simple word.
"Perfect. I get off in about 15 minutes. Can you wait that long?"
The Mandalorian smiled under the mask. "If I have to."
The girl giggled as she walked away towards her last few customers.
When the 15 minutes were up, the girl turned the lights out and locked up the doors. They then walked in a comfortable silence towards, first his speeder, then her home.
After tying up a gag around the prisoners mouth, a blindfold around his eyes, and punching the guy one more time when the girl wasn't looking to make sure he would stay knocked out, he stuffed the guy into the storage compartment of his speeder and turned to face her.
The winds were already picking up outside, and he knew the girl was right about the storm.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, the Mandalorian spoke up.
"What's your name?"
The girl smiled once again. "Y/N."
And with that, she turned around and entered her home, with the Mandalorian trailing closely behind her.

DAY 5/14
"Can I do your intro?" I mumbled, looking over at Colby.
He smiled cheekily. "Yeah sure, go ahead."
I cleared my throat, getting into character. "Hey what's up you guys, Colby Brock here! And today I'm here with..."
"Skye." Colby muttered, holding back a laugh.
"Skye! And as you can see in the title, I'm gonna be interviewing her, and vice versa."
"Alright, I guess this is your youtube channel now."
We both stared at each other, and then busted out into laughter.
"Hey what's up you guys, it's Colby. And I'm here with Skye. She makes videos on her channel, which you should go check out. She's also a fan of me and Sam. And, she's my friend." He explained.
"That I am." I chimed in.
"And as she has already told you, I'm gonna be interviewing her. And she's also gonna be interviewing me." Colby stated, looking directly at the camera.
He continued, "So, we each have a couple questions and we're gonna just go back and forth and we have to answer them truthfully. No matter how uncomfortable the question might be."
"Mind you, we have no idea of each other's questions. Do you wanna go first or should I?" I replied.
"I'll start. This one is easy. How long have you been a fan of us?" He asked, looking down at his phone and then looking up at me.
"Oh okay. Um... since 2016. I found you guys because Elton's videos. Or TFILs." I answered.
He nodded his head. "Cool. Did you instantly become a fan or did it take a while for you to like us?"
"I'm pretty sure it wasn't instant, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with you and Sam." I blushed at my own words.
He grinned. "Awh, that's so sweet. What's your question for me?"
I glanced down at my phone. "My first question is is there a video on either yours or the duo channel that you wish you could change? Maybe it's not edited right, or the content isn't as great as it could be. Just any video that stands out that you just don't like."
He cocked his head to the side. "Um... I know on Sam and mine's channel some of our earlier videos are so cringey. Like where we give relationship advice or talk about girls in general. Some of our earlier videos just weren't that interesting."
"Is there any one that stands out?" I questioned.
"Not that I can think of. But any of our first vids, honestly." He insisted. I nodded my head as he kept talking. "Next question! Whose content do you like more: mine's or Sam's?"
I gasped. "What the fuck Colby?! I'm not answering that."
"You have to. You have to." He laughed, covering his face.
"Fine then... Sam's." I smirked.
"What?! Why don't you go be on Sam's channel then?" He mocked.
"Alright, BYE!" I started to get up, but he lightly grabbed my arm and pulled me back down, making me laugh. "I'm just kidding, but seriously Sam's."
He rolled his eyes, and I asked my second question. "My next question for you is would you ever sing on camera... like for real."
"Oh God. If I did, I would need like a lot of practice. I'm not good." He admitted.
"I don't think you're bad." I disagreed.
Colby looked at the camera."She's lying, I suck."
"No, you don't. I mean, even really good singers take voice lessons. So if you want, you should take some." I explained.
"Maybe I'll think about it. Thumbs up this video if you want me to sing." He smirked, pointing at the camera.
"The video becomes the most disliked video." I murmured.
He turned his head to me, gasping. "How could you." I giggled back.
He softly swatted my knee, chuckling back at me. "Anyway, one of my last questions for you is what content, as a fan, would you like to see from me?"
"Wow. That's a good question." I said.
"Thanks." He replied.
"Uh... if I'm honest, I think you should start posting more serious videos. Like, be open with the fans about your feelings and whatnot. I mean, compared to Sam's channel, you don't really have any 'personal' videos. I'm not expecting you to cry on camera or anything, but if you got more... real with us, I think that would be nice to see. Maybe once every couple months, just do like a sit down video and open up." I finished, finally looking up into his eyes. He had been staring at me the whole time.
"Shit... that's something I'll keep in mind." He nodded his head lightly.
"Yeah." I whispered, still looking into his eyes. After a pause, I could feel my face starting to heat up. I looked away. "...So my last question for you is what is your favorite part about this fandom?"
"Oh, it's all the love and support you guys send to me on the daily. I mean, if I'm ever having a bad day, I know I can go to my dms or my notices on twitter and see all the beautiful messages you guys send to me. Thank you guys for all of it, really. You guys are the best fans in the world." He declared, addressing the camera mostly.
He turned to me and smiled. "Now my final question for you is... would you like to go exploring with me and Sam?"
"Sometime soon?" I asked.
"Maybe..." He teased, smirking.
"If I'm invited, sure." I smiled, giggling slightly.
"Okay, then, that being said, that's gonna be it for today's video. Shout out to Skye for being an awesome fan and doing this for me kinda last minute." He informed, turning his head back to the camera.
"Yeah, he literally texted me yesterday about this." I mentioned, getting another jokingly dirty look from Colby.
"Why you gotta call me out like that?" He muttered, his frown changing into a smile quickly. "Anyway, leave a like if you enjoyed. Comment down below your favorite part. And I'll see you next week. Peace!" He blew a kiss at the camera, reaching over to turn it off.
I waved at the camera. "Bye."
He sat back down on his couch, looking over at me. "So, how was that for you?"
I smiled. "That was really fun. And went by really fast."
He nodded his head. "Simple videos like this are really fast to film and edit for me anymore."
"When are you gonna post this?" I asked, sitting up in my seat and crossing my legs.
"Next week. I filmed a video this week with Brennen so I have that to post and then next week I'll be posting this." He informed me, taking his camera off the tripod.
"Is there anything you need to do before the party tonight?"
"Actually yeah. I need to run to the store and get some alcohol and probably some more cups. Do you wanna come with me? And then if you want I can drop you off back at your house?"
"That's sounds good." I agreed, smiling.
He smiled back, grabbing his keys. "Okay then, let's go."
/  /  /  /
"What type of alcohol do you like?" Colby asked, glancing around the aisle at all the alcohol.
"I'm more of a vodka lady myself. Specifically, Grey Goose." I revealed, shrugging.
Colby gasped mockingly. "Oh wow. Someone's boujee."
"What do you like drinking?" I sassed.
"Jack. Or Crown Royal." He replied.
"Isn't whiskey for old men?" I jeered, smirking.
"Shut up." He teased, grinning.
I sighed. "What else do we need to get anyway?"
"Cups, and I think that's it." He answered, slowly starting to push the cart.
I stopped the cart, grabbing his attention. "Can you hold the cart still for a sec?"
"Sure."
Colby held the cart, as I slowly threw my leg over it to get inside. As I sat down in it, I faced Colby, who shook his head and smiled. He then started pushing the cart again. While he went up and down the aisle, I snuck a photo of him. Posting to my snapchat, I typed the caption "I love having a personal driver".
We finally arrived next to the plastic cups. He grabbed a set and threw them in, smacking me in the stomach. I gasped, and he just smirked at me and began to push the cart up the next aisle.
"I'm gonna pick up some more sodas." He said.
"Try not to throw that on me." I huffed, staring up at him.
"Can't guarantee." He whispered, giving me a wink.
He took two sodas from the shelves and drove the cart over to the self-check out section. After scanning the items and paying, all while I'm still in the cart, he rode the cart over to his car. He took the four bags and put them in his trunk.
"Can you help me out?" I asked, raising my arms to him.
He nodded his head, and I grabbed his shoulders. His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me out of the cart. I landed on my feet in front of him.
"Thank you." I giggled.
A smile fell across his lips. "No problem."
Our eyes met for a moment. I could feel his arms still around me and my hands were still resting on his shoulders. We were chest-to-chest, almost too close for comfort. I slowly slide my hands down his arms, and he let go of me, our gaze falling off each other.
/  /  /  /
I waved to Colby from the door as he drove away. I shut the front door, leaning against it and sighing.
Maybe my heart can finally relax now...
I walked over to Casey's room where I could hear music being played. I opened her door and saw her sitting at her vanity, playing around with make-up.
"Hey Cas." I said, walking into her room and laying down on her bed.
"Hi. So how did your day go with loverboy?" Her eyes landed on me through her mirror.
I exhaled. "Fine. The video went really well. After we filmed, we went shopping for the party."
Her tone of voice changed. "Can you be honest with me for a second?"
"I'm always honest." My face twisted up.
She shook her head in disagreement. "Not when it comes to your feelings for Colby."
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Skye, why are you pretending? It is so obvious that you like Colby. Why don't you just admit it?"
"The same reasons you don't admit that you like Brennen." I deadpanned.
She sighed deeply. "We're not talking about me."
I chuckled. "Funny enough, that is the same thing Brennen said to me when I told him to admit his feelings for you."
She rolled her eyes. "You really do have a knack for changing the subject, Skye."
After a moment, I answered, "Do you really wanna hear me say it?"
"Yes." She replied, turning to me.
"I... like Colby. A lot, actually. But why is it so important for me to admit it?" I grumbled, my shoulders dropping.
"Because you haven't shown interest in a guy in years. You're always so cynical when it comes to love and romance and all that mushy stuff." She complained.
"Well, I haven't exactly had a good track record with any guy so, I'm gonna be a little hesitant." I scoffed, glaring at her.
"Colby's different though." She noted, getting up from her vanity and walking over to her closet.
One of my eyebrows raised. "How is he different?"
"Because he for sure likes you." She said nonchalantly.
"I don't think so." I shook my head.
"Colby likes you. And you like him. One of you needs to take the next step forward and just admit it already. Maybe even tonight at the party." She shrugged, a soft smile on her lips.
...Maybe.
/  /  /  /
"Skye, c'mon! If the uber comes and you're not ready, I'm leaving without you." Casey yelled from the living room.
I rolled my eyes at Casey's words. Looking at myself in the mirror, I cocked my head to the side, trying to get a different angle. I don't usually dress up, not because I'm above it; it's because I don't think I look good.
My maroon, flowy dress clung to my upper torso and cascaded from my waist down. The sleeves of the dress hit just slightly past my wrist. The tights underneath the dress were lacy and black, combined with my platform boots.
"Skyeeeee!" She shouted.
Sighing, I called back. "I'm coming."
Grabbing my purse off my bed, I headed out of my room. Walking into the living room, I met with Casey, who had her back to me.
"Are you finally..." She turned around to me, her sentence falling off when she saw me.
I shifted my gaze. "What?"
"Holy shit. You look gorgeous!" She exclaimed.
I smirked. "Are you saying I'm ugly the rest of the time?"
Her shoulders slouched. "You really know how to turn a positive into a negative."
I shrugged. "It's what I do best."
"But seriously, you look so good Skye." She responded, smiling brightly.
"Thank you. You look so pretty yourself. Are you trying to catch a certain boy's eye?" I nudged her with my elbow, smirking again.
She scoffed. "I think you might be projecting. I can't wait 'til Colby sees you. He's gonna drop dead."
I swatted my hand at her. "He probably won't even notice I'm there."

games/routes i’ve played + my favourites
..to be updated
*send me recommendations if you’d like!
(if i give a game a bad rating, it’s just my opinion. you don’t have to agree with me)
MysticMessenger :
routes: Zen, Yoosung, 707, and Jumin Han
my favourite: definitely Jumin Han! he’s more of an unpopular choice, and I see why, but, I love him. his story was borderline obsessive at some points, and im not going to try and defend his weird behaviour, but there was a reason for it. he got everything he wanted as a kid expect for the love of another person, which is why he treasured Elisabeth the 3rd so much, because in a way, she was the only one there for him. but, then after he gets close to the mc, and then Elisabeth goes missing, he sees the mc as the same type of warmth. he definitely could’ve been more casual about his approaches, and less weird about everything, but I see where it’s coming from. the boy’s got some trauma. and, I mean, the mc is kind and stays with him, understands him, and he opens up to her and falls in love with her. I don’t think it’s entirely unrealistic for an otome game. his character development was great. but, enough of Jumin. this is a really well thought out game. the storyline is impeccable, and the characters are all diverse enough that it’s usually not that much trouble picking one guy/girl over the other. but, this game is really heavily dependent on the emotional labour aspects of the boys, which I don’t like. if you want someone’s route, you had to constantly be excited for them and constantly support them and no one else. a prime example being zen’s route, which is still a great route from experience, but there’s too much flattery in the initial stages, if you ask me. also, I don’t have the energy to get up at 3am for a chatroom, sorry Jaehee.
my rating: 7 or 8/10
The Arcana :
routes: asra, julian, and nadia (portia, lucio, and muriel are current)
my favourite: Asra! this magician and his snake familiar got my attention pretty fast, and his heartbreaking past with the mc just sealed the deal for me. his route is so romantic and touching, but has a lot of action. it was honestly perfect. the devs did a great job with the writing of the game, and the storyline is, again, impeccable. I honestly cried when I found out about Asra’s history with the apprentice, and lemme tell you that is a DIFFERENT type of pain.
my rating: 10/10
+Lost Island :
route: ryo tsuzuki
my favourite: none. ryo was definitely eye candy and a perfect guy, but he was the only route I played, and frankly, was the last. the only good things about this game were the action scenes, which were admittedly heart-wrenching since the game took place on a zombie infested island. But otherwise I hate this game with a burning passion, and will frankly be seeing it down in Dante’s inferno, in the depths of hell with every other shall we date game. It was my first otome game, I found it when I was 11 - just out of the womb lmao - and I was so entranced that I ended up spending sixty Fucking dollars on this game!!! I regret it deeply to this day, because the game was horrible. it moved so fast, it was pretty predictable (and I spent the sixty dollars to move it along even though when I look back at it the game exposed itself so many times??) it was so weird. after we cured the strange virus that his ‘missing’ sociopath scientist father created with an antidote hidden in Ryo’s blood and left the zombie infested island, he proposed to me in a bush! a bush! he popped the question in a bush, beat that level of romance ladies and gentlemen. and, I know now that I type it out it some points sound like a pretty good plot, but trust me, don’t let that fool you. I will argue with you about this until my death. and not to mention this bitch was a horny little shit in the middle of what the characters thought was the zombie apocalypse. all in all this game is the bane of my existence, thank you (I’m sorry this is so dramatic lmao)
my rating: -100000/10
Dangerous fellows :
routes: Zion, Harry, Eugene, Ethan, and Lawrence
my favourite: Zion! omg what a cutie, still highkey owns my heart. he’s your run of the mill rich kid that eventually rebelled, but his sense of humour and toughness is what won me over. His heartfelt promises and uncharacteristic seriousness in the face of danger were my favourite parts. he’s so adorable and owns all my uwus. I’d fight someone for this boy. this was the game the birthed this account a couple of months ago, and I still love it.
my rating: 10/10
Lost Alice :
route: Owen Chester
my favourite: I know this technically doesn’t really count, but I did like the joker! I never played his route, and he wasn’t involved in Owen’s route much, but what little I saw of him was great.  He was joking, vague, and helped Alice out a lot as a guide in the very beginning. if I had the courage to even download this godforsaken game again I’d definitely go for him! as for Owen’s route, I honestly didn’t like it at all. all of these games have a timeline, and the end point is always the main characters fucking. like?? not the thing where you randomly travel back and forwards in time? no, just both living in her world and ignoring it, because, me and bae are official now and that’s all that matters 🤪 plus, classically, he was like the formal king trying to seduce her for funsies and then accidentally falling for her.
my rating: 0/10
Modern Cinderella :
route: Rudolf Oak
my favourite: ..I didn’t really have one. I’m sorry this was a shall we date game, need I say more? the ’stoic’ restaurant owner that ’never opens up to people’ saw me stand up for myself literally once and suddenly his entire worldview of me has changed, and surprise surprise, he wants to date me. This was one of the worst ones I’ve ever played. I really had no favourite, except maybe for the guy that let me stay in his apartment in the beginning of the game and gave me food after he found me in the rain 🤧
my rating: 0/10
Ikemen Sengoku :
route: Hideyoshi, Yukimura, Nobunaga, Sasuke, Shingen, Masamune, Kenshin (mitsunari is current)
my favourite: yukimuraaa, yukimuraa, that bean. i can’t explain very well it but I love him :((. i really loved Mitsuhide, but I liked masamune too! I love masamune’s attitude atowards the mc, and his nickname and nonchalance around her (in sasuke’s route where he hesitated on killing him just because the mc yelled ‘stop!’ out of fear?? 🤧🤧), and I also love mitsuhide’s slightly threatening but caring personality, and that he’s deadly smart! you can’t hide anything from that man lol. Plus the mc describes him as a a good person even in hideyoshi’s route, which I respect. (ugh the devs knew he would be too powerful with a route) but, I didn’t like that after you finish a route, your intimacy is completely reset. like :(( it disheartens me in playing a little because it takes days to build up grace, and im not about to go scouring on those offer pages, because i’m not willing to put myself through that again after dangerous fellows. the formatting is a little wack too, but it’s still nice and something to look past, since the game is pretty great otherwise, and it’s a little older. I love almost all of the characters, (the ones I don’t are for personal reasons, not because they’re bad characters or anything) and I don’t think its cringey at all! it’s honestly a great game altogether.
my rating: 9/10
Ikemen Revolution:
routes: fenrir, edgar, ray, kyle, sirius, lancelot, luka, jonah, loki, and zero (all, idk if I forgot one lol)
my favourite: every time I see edgar my heart goes boom!! I started playing his route literally like a week ago and god, this boy deserves the world. I love his gentlemanly personality and his habit of joking around and giving vague statements or warnings when in reality, he’s very sweet and kind. you’ll never know what he’s thinking, and I love that I constantly have the chance to surprise him when no one else ever does. though, I really love my boy Kyle at the same time. he’s a real one 😤 I really like how the devs handled the Alice in wonderland concept! I’ve seen that go wrong a few times, so this was refreshing. again, with the ikemen games, they’re never really fast paced or cringey in the way some other games are. it takes the mc usually at least 13 chapters to even admit to themselves that they’re crushing on the guy, which I like. it’s more realistic then, say, the nightmare harlem (see other review). also the plot design, the character depth, uGh, as a writer, don’t even get me STARTED. it’s all amazing. and!! the intimacy doesn’t reset, so I can basically just blaze through all of the intimacy checks right away. The only thing I maybe don’t like about this game is about how long it takes to complete one route. it may take you a shorter amount of time to pay, but I always play free
my rating: 9 or 10/10
Mystic Code:
routes: cold case, lost case, happy ending: case closed, wrong suspect (2), true ending
my favourite: this technically isn’t an otome game. I admittedly didn’t really like this game as much as I liked dangerous fellows, but it was still really good! I just thought dangerous fellows’s story was a little better, and there’s obviously the added bonus of being able to romance any of the main characters. You couldn’t romance any of the characters in mystic code, and while the story made up for that a lot, I was still a little disappointed. Plus, romancing the characters could‘ve really made for a more complex storyline.. 👀 I won’t give any spoilers,, but the story really did make up for it for the most part. but, I guarantee you that if you could play routes, I’d choose eliot. he’s got that confident and playful but serious and smart personality I fall into every time, and I would’ve liked to get a chance to see more sides to that.
my rating: 8/10
Love and Producer (Mr Love: Queen’s Choice):
routes: —
my favourite: ohoho do I have a story about this one. i was going through pinterest one day a few weeks ago when I came across this picture. and idk, something about it had me starstruck, so I looked for what the image was from and found out that it was from a chinese otome game! at the time, I didn’t know that there was an english version out, so I was really disappointed when I found out I couldn’t play it. but!! through a dangerous fellows account I follow on instagram, I downloaded this game by chance and realised it was the same game under a different name. now, I was completely right to be starstruck, because I love Gavin, he’s amazing! He and the mc were classmates in high school, and they have this ~thing~ that happened in the past that’s vaguely talked about, which is a moment with the wind and ginkgo leaves (which is super nice and romantic af, since he has a wind evol) and I think there’s other parts, but I won’t give away any more spoilers that aren’t obvious and/or easily accessible. the only thing I maybe have wrong with this games that the cliffhangers it can leave you off on before it tells you to level up more are emotionally shattering, and the karma levels/movie shootings are a little annoying, but they’re easily fixable and easy to pass if you snoop around the game a little and figure out how it works. I also really like how though there are no technical routes, each “romance” with the other the guys is completely plausible and any could be endgame easily.
(+ damn, Gavin’s one main line ‘as long as you’re in the wind, I’ll find you.’ is really nice and romantic to me also, since there’s another line from a book I love that’s “I’ll be your map. Where you go, I go.” but idk maybe i’m just biased)
my rating: 9/10
The Princess Closet:
route: reo
my favourite: honestly, I hated this game, so I didn’t really have a favourite. It sounds dramatic, but it’s really true. I was snooping through the App Store one night around midnight looking for a new otome game, and I stumbled upon this one with pretty great reviews. So I, the otome hoe that I am, was like ‘okay fuck it’ and downloaded it. Basically, the game’s storyline is this guy comes up to you and is like ‘you’re my princess, I finally found you’ and the mc is like ‘wtf are you talking about’ but is flattered and sorta curious so she goes back to his studio where she agrees to become a model. like?? girl what?? he could’ve taken you into a back alley and killed you, but she didn’t care. then, in the first chapter, she does her first modelling job then the main guy (reo, also the fashion designer) comes up to her, basically pins her against the wall and is like ‘I knew you were perfect, but I didn’t imagine this. Now, since I always get what I want, I’ll have to make you mine because I’ve taken interest in you.” like,, okay bro. I deleted the app after that. if you like that kind of stuff, that’s fine, but it seems too outright and cringe to me. plus, this isn’t really relevant but I didn’t really like the formatting.
my rating: 0/10
Ikemen Vampire:
route: Napoleon, Arthur, Leonardo, Mozart, Vincent (double clear for both Arthur and Napoleon!)
my favourite: oh my god, this game finally came out with an English version and I’m so excited! I barely knew anything about this game before this morning, but it’s seriously good. I was sceptical in downloading it at first though, because vampire related things usually come out in a fashion similar to something like diabolik lovers, but this blew my expectations out of the water. the writing is amazing, and had me literally stopping between moments and being all nerdy about it. plus, all of the characters are based on real people of history, and I like that part. It’s a really cool idea. but the best part!! all of the characters are more or less like normal people. I’m not sure if that exactly makes sense, but it’s relief to me. I’m also really thrilled about some of the stories in the game. like, bonaparte is a half vampire?? nice, I wanna know more! you have to be da vinci’s fake lover?? coolio. but, I’m kinda bummed that there aren’t more routes out. Issac Newton, Napoleon Bonaparte, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Theodorus Van Gogh are definitely my favourites,(Theo is best boy 😤✊🏻) and I would’ve liked to play other routes too, but that’s totally good, because games are hard work.
my rating: 10/10
THE NIFLHEIM+:
route: Leo
my favourite: I gotta say, this wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. And that’s surprising, since this is a shall we date game. The storyline was pretty good, sorta like sleeping beauty with a twist, and while it was really cringey at some parts, it wasn’t too overbearing in my opinion. There’s a variety of characters to romance, and while they all have pretty stereotypical personalities in some way, it was still somewhat enjoyable to play. Though, I didn’t finish the game because I didn’t like the route I was playing, the way it was set up or the ticket system was kinda weird (one every 4 hours. you could log in once every month and it would say ‘welcome to your fourth day!’ even if it’s been four months in reality) if I did another route, though, it would probably be Nick, because his route seemed fun from the preview.
my rating: 3 or 4/10
Nightmare Harlem:
route: oswald
my favourite: honestly, my favourite was still Oswald. (though it’s a close second to Lucas, who never entered the room in any way other than the window) he was a sweet bean and didn’t deserve any of the shit any of the other suitors gave him. now that I think about it, the plot is creepily similar to ikemen vampire’s. the mc is walking home one night when a portal opens up under a red moon that takes her to a mansion full of vampires! but, maybe that’s just an overused plot. this is from the same company as princess closet, but I think it’s a little better. don’t get me wrong, though, it was still cringe to the max. the mc insisted on helping with work around the mansion exchange for letting her stay there until that portal opened again (hello ikemen??) and the main guy was like ‘pfft sure’ and that’s where she met oswald, the gardener.  but, the main thing that turned me off of this game was how fast the romance came. she spent a day outside with him, talking about whatever, then decided she liked the time she was with him and was disheartened when he had to leave. you know, totally not like any kind of normal friendly relationship at all. and after that she was like ‘oh shit what’s this feeling in my chest’ when she saw him at dinner. like, I get the quick crush thing but she’s all like “am I falling in love??/?” and to make it BETTER the next day he’s like ‘oh shit what’s this feeling in my chest’ after, again, spending a day with her and doing nothing more but exchanging smiles otherwise. and the other guys are in on it instantly too! one of them even tries to set them up! and I just- I couldn’t take it seriously after a while.
my rating: 3/10
Ayakashi: romance reborn:
route: Koga
my favourite: honestly, how to choose?? At first, I really liked Ginnojo and Toichiro, but after playing for a bit, Koga and his stupid dice swept me off my feet. I’m only at chapter 20 since I started playing a few days ago, but I can already tell that koga is very friendly and jokes around a lot, and the moment she ever has a problem he’s there to help her. he’s an oni ogre ayakashi, and I also think that’s super cool tbh. the game itself is sort of like mr love queen’s choice in the way that you get cards and have to level them up and that corresponds to how well you do in the game, but there are more romance aspects to this game than mlqc. after you finish book one (comprised of 50 chapters) it branches off into the 4 routes that are available to play. (Koga the oni ogre ayakashi, Kuya the tengu ayakashi, Ginnojo the Mizuchi dragon ayakashi, and Aoi the satori seer) I think it’s a really interesting and fun game, but I don’t like that the only way you can get keys to play the main chapters is through patrols, which can get repetitive, especially when you can only play the same 5 or so locations before the lp cost is more.

Honey Magazine:
game/route: wanted: son in law // taiga takajo
my favourite: I should really change this label ^^. Honey magasine is an otome app that’s comprised of many stories that you can play at once. honestly, I didn’t have high hopes for this one based on the look of it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am super super super super picky when it comes to otome games, but this one genuinely could’ve been worse. in the story I played, a journalist was invited to her billionaire grandfather’s estate to pick out a fiancé, but that was unbeknownst to her, seeing as this was the first time she’d talked to her grandfather since she was 5 years old. she went through the whole night meeting these different guys before she had to choose one the next day. I didn’t like this part because I probably got one interaction with each character max, and really didn’t get to go very deep into any of them. in the end, I chose Taiga, the heir to a fortune and the CEO of his own company at the ripe age of his early 20-somethings. honestly I only picked him because he kinda looks like Yuta from nct and since I didn’t really like any of the others, I had nothing to lose lol. He’s emotionless and very cold but subtly caring, and this drives the mc crazy as he claims that he’ll just parade around with her if he needs to and act in front of other people. she promises that she’ll make him fall in love with her, and well, the rest is history. I won’t get into his route much, but, I think it’s about what you would expect from a situation like this, not that it would ever happen. it’s not terrible, and I think that if someone had paid a little more attention to it it could’ve been great, not just okay.
my rating: 4/10
Twilight School:
route: Wade
my favourite: this game was actually recommended to me by a follower, and honestly, I do really like it. but, it’s a good thing that I liked Wade, because I’m not the biggest fan of either Rylan or Hogan. I’ve never liked the idea of werewolves, and Rylan is just the epitome of twilight meets vampire diaries to me. (even though neither of them really have to do with werewolves lol) and, hogan, idk. he’s got a nice personality, but I’m not really interested in him beyond that. Wade reminds me of Eugene, to be honest. that’s not why I like him, but I just thought I should get the observation out there. what I don’t like about this game is the gem system. yes, I wanted to kiss wade’s hand when he was sitting next to me after I woke up from being sick, but could I?? no. and I’m still disappointed about it, thank you very much. I also don’t really like the scene where they all fight over her in front of her. like, uh, can I get a waffle?? can I PLEASE get a waffle? but overall yes! it’s a very good game and I love the storyline and mystery.
Samurai Love Ballad Party:
route: yukimura sanada
my favourite: (i keep mixing up the name smh) is every yukimura character an absolute sweetheart?? because it sure seems like it. I found out about this game though a discord server I’m in, and honestly, from the looks of it, my expectations were low. Format is a big part of an otome game, and this one is obviously old, and that kind of dimmed my likeness a bit. But, the story is really fun. Kinda cringey, but still fun. I had no idea it was also in the sengoku era, so that was a fun surprise. I played the prologue laughing and joking around the entire time, and it was honestly really fun. i knew I liked yukimura from the moment he appeared, and chose his route immediately when I could. One thing though, this doesn’t bother me, I just think it’s kinda funny, is that the choices you make actually determine a good or bad ending rather than the romantic or dramatic I’m used to. So, seeing that ‘you could’ve chosen better...’ message after a chapter is always refreshing lol. (I get those a lot because I literally have 2 brain cells 🗿)
overall rating: 6/10
Obey me!:
route: —
favourites: THIS IS A SHALL WE DATE GAME?? it blows my mind, because I absolutely love this game but normally hate swd games (see lost island for reference lmao) the format is cute and modern and easy to navigate, but isn’t in your face bright and not too bland either. there’s a lot of options to go for, like the random calls and messages you get throughout the day plus the person you want to choose from majolish and display on the home screen has little things to say to you ever 15 seconds or so. the ap/stamina system is similar to ayakashi, so it was refreshing to already know how to deal with that, and I do like how while it goes fast, it doesn’t take much to regen. The actual story function is similar to that of mlqc, though, with the mission and then story part. There are no actual routes in the game as of right now, but the game is still being updated, so there might be in the future when the storyline is complete! I really hope there is, because I totally wanna do some of their routes like 😳 My favourite at first was Mammon, because from the get-go he’s the energetic dumbass that’s always by your side like fenrir and I just appreciated that, especially when I didn’t know any of the other characters yet. but then I actually got into the game more and while I still do like mammon, it’s a bit less and I do have some new favourites now. first off is Lucifer, who I really was neutral with most of the time (which shouldn’t have been the case considering he threatened/tried to kill the mc at least twice lmao) but yeah, sometime along the way I went from 😶😶😶 to 🥰🥰🥰 and that was that. Second is probably either Satan or Belphegor because they’re just both adorable and I like belphegor’s voice and sense of humour and satan’s love for books and considerate personality
favourite: Lucifer
CURRENTLY PLAYING: mr love queen’s choice, ikemen sengoku (mitsunari), obey me!

Tumblr media
Sitting in front of the fridge, you frown when you fail to find that one food that you’ve been thinking about for the past hour. With a sigh, you close the door. “Jaemin!”
There’s a shuffling noise, before a familiar voice replies from the living room. “Yeah?”
“Did you see my cake?” You ask, standing up to stretch your back.
“What? I can’t hear you!” He yells back, but you could clearly tell that he’s not going to pop into the kitchen soon. Rolling your eyes, you make your way to the living room. You narrow your eyes suspiciously when you see Jaemin lounging on the couch, with a shit-eating grin on his face.
“You just want me to come here, Didn’t you?”
Jaemin simply nods, his radiant smile blinding you. He then pats the empty spot next to him, looking at you with wide innocent eyes. You shake your head in disbelief, but take a seat anyway. Jaemin grins, leaning back against the couch. “So?”
“Did you see my cake?” You ask, looking up at him. “I put it next to the cereal yesterday.”
Without a pause, Jaemin replies. “Nope.”
You look at him with narrowed eyes, just now noticing the strange object on his left cheek. “...You have icing on your face, Jaemin.”
“.....”
You huff in annoyance, glaring at him. It has only been a day since you trusted him with your cake, putting it in his house instead of yours because you had your nieces visiting you yesterday. “You have your own, why do you always take mine?”
“Yours tastes better.” Jaemin smiles innocently, wiping the icing off his face without an ounce of regret on his face. You fold your arms in front of your chest, glaring at him. “We both have strawberry shortcake, how is it even possible?”
“Well, you know what they say.” He starts, looking up at you with gleaming eyes. “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.”
“You’re just trying to annoy me.” You grit your teeth, starting to feel more irritated as seconds pass by. Ever since you were young, Jaemin always does this. Although both of you have the same thing, he will only take yours, and abandon his. Its not like he’s greedy, because in the end he always lets you take his. You’re not sure the reason behind his odd behaviour, but you’re never too fond of it.
“Well, it works, doesn’t it?” He winks, the smile on his face only seems to widen. This guy just eats your cake and lies about it, and when you confront him about it he has the audacity to wink instead. Jaemin is truly something.
“I never know being best friends means I have to let you eat my food without my permission.” You glare at him, still annoyed that he doesn’t even admit it at first. But Jaemin doesn’t budge, and he wraps his arm around your shoulder. “Its the new definition of best friends, princess.”
“Stop using that pet name, for god’s sake.” You scrunch up your face in disgust. “Its really—”
“Cringey.” Jaemin finishes your sentence, wiggling his eyebrows. “That is also the reason why I keep using it, princess.”
Pushing him away, you shake your head in disbelief. “You have to buy me another one.”
With a radiant smile, he throws another wink.
“Anything for you.... princess.”
“So I’ll see you on Monday. Don’t forget to do your essay. Good Evening.”
You let your head falls onto the wooden desk, letting your eyes flutter shut. You could hear loud laugh and chatters around you, your classmates joking around with each other as they’re exiting the class.
“God, it feels like 3 hours.” You sigh, looking up just enough to see Jaemin, who is sitting in front of you. He’s already facing you, knowing you so well that he knows that you’re going to grumble—just like you always do on Fridays. Friday is supposed to be the best weekday, as it marks the beginning of weekend. But no, your schedule on Friday just have to last until 6.
Jaemin snickers, an amused grin sitting on his face. “Its only 90 minutes, you know.”
“I could’ve been home an hour ago if its not for this stupid class.” You whine, too tired to even lift your head up. Jaemin notices how lifeless you are and chuckles, ruffling your hair playfully. “At least its over”
“Yeah.” You mumble tiredly, moving your head to avoid him. You hate it when people ruffle your hair because it leaves your hair all tangled and messy, but Jaemin is an exception. Somehow, it feels quite the opposite when Jaemin does it, it makes you calm and peaceful. But of course, you would never tell him. Knowing Jaemin, He’ll probably tease you to death.
“Maybe I should call you sleeping beauty instead.” Jaemin chuckles, looking at you rather fondly. You let out a sigh, opening your eyes just so you could stare at him judgingly. “I prefer princess over sleeping beauty anytime, Thanks.”
Jaemin grins. “As you wish, princess.”
You let out a hum as a reply, slowly getting used to the cheesy pet name. “Just let me sleep for a while.”
You’re taken aback when Jaemin simply nods, leaning against the back of the chair to get into a more comfortable position. “Okay then.”
“Don’t leave me.” You groggily say, reaching out to hold his hand, making sure that he doesn’t leave. Jaemin snickers at first, ready to tease you about it. But when he sees your half-lidded eyes and your eye bags, he rolls his eyes instead, ruffling your hair once more. “Fine, princess.”
A scoff escapes your lips right before you fall into a deep slumber, making Jaemin chuckles.
“I will never leave you.”
Jaemin finally looks up from his book when thunder rumbles, looking out the window with wide eyes. He checks the time on his phone, cursing under his breath. He often loses track of time whenever he reads a book, and this time is not an exception. He then put a piece of paper between the pages as a bookmark, glancing at your sleeping figure. Carefully, he packs his belongings, putting it on top of the desk.
He then crouches down to meet your eye level, a grin sitting on his lips. He then takes a deep breath, moving into a more comfortable position so his lips would be closer to your ear.
“FIRE!!”
Startled, you’re immediately brought back to reality, opening your eyes in surprise. Without second thought, you abruptly stand up and grab your bag, ready to rush out of the building. However, you let out an annoyed groan when the only thing you could see is Jaemin, cackling on the floor.
“Do you really have to wake me up like that every single time?” You whine, annoyed that he wakes you up for nothing, and the fact that your heart almost stops from his little prank. Jaemin finally stops laughing, getting up from the floor. He then grins mockingly at you, looking at you with raised eyebrow. “If you know I always do that, then why are you still surprised?”
You hit his arm playfully, rolling your eyes sassily. “Because I was sleeping, duh.”
He shrugs, not showing even the slightest bit of guilt. He then raises his arms, stretching his back. “On a more serious note, it’s going to rain soon. Unless you want arrive home with wet socks then I suggest we leave this place right now, princess.”
“Okay.” You reply helplessly, rubbing your eyes tiredly. You then let out a small yawn, stretching your back. “What time is it?”
“10.”
Your remaining fatigue immediately washes away when you hear him. “10?!”
Jaemin nods calmly, standing up. He doesn’t seem to be annoyed, and he seems way too calm. You look up at him in wonder, trying to read his expression. Jaemin immediately notices your obvious staring, the corner of his lips curling into a smirk. “Can you at least be a little more discreet when you’re admiring my beauty?”
You scoff, breaking your gaze. “You wish.”
He grins, moving to grab his bag and also yours, urging you to stand up as well. “Come on, I don’t have an umbrella with me today.”
You squint your eyes at him, now fully suspicious. Jaemin never voluntarily brings your books, let alone your bag. Most of the times you have to say how handsome he is to get him to help you, so this is new. “Did i wake up in a parallel universe?”
He rolls his eyes, flicking your forehead. “What? Can’t I be nice for once?”
You wince in pain, but decide not to complain. Jaemin would probably drop your bag immediately if you do. You then shrug, walking beside him. “Its just... odd. But in a good way.”
Jaemin doesn’t reply, only placing his hand on your back to urge you walk faster. You comply without a fight, still too tired to argue. When you leave the building, the sky is already pitch black, and the wind is blowing hard. You let out a small sigh, wrapping your arms around your body.   “Mom’s going to kill me.”
“Worry not princess, you have me with you.” Jaemin winks, putting his arm around your shoulder. You glance at him, eyebrow raising ever so slightly. He stares right back at you, a toothy grin decorating his face. “At least you won’t die alone.”
You elbow him playfully, chuckling quietly. He only laughs, but says nothing afterwards. The atmosphere turns silent for a while as you both walk towards the bus stop. You then look down at your feet, finally noticing the slight pain in your calf whenever you take a step. “My leg hurts.”
“Where?” Jaemin asks, looking down at your legs to scan any bruises you might have. “Did you fall?”
You shake your head, walking slowly. “I don’t. I didn’t do anything, but I feel exhausted and everything hurts.”
“Want me to give you a massage when we get home?” He offers, looking at you with concerned gaze. Your lips curve into a smile, warmth spreading over your heart at his thoughtfulness. “That would be gre-“
“20 $ only. Special price for a princess.” He winks, making you groan instantly. Of course. You shake your head in disbelief. “Why would I even both—”
Jaemin looks at you with raised eyebrow when you stop mid-sentence. “y/n?”
He follows your gaze and raises his eyebrow when he sees what caused you to stop mid-sentence. “Who?”
“Jaehyun.” You mutter under your breath, feeling your face starts to heat up. You duck your head down, purposely avoiding the said guy. Jaemin curiously looks at the guy in black, wondering what is it about him that suddenly makes you this way.
You sit on the bench with your head down, hoping that the guy across the street doesn’t notice you. When you see him typing into his phone, you let out a relieved sigh. There’s quite a distance between the two bus stops, but you can’t never be too aware.
“Y/n!”
Your eyes widen when Jaemin calls you loudly, loud enough to gain people’s attention from across the street. You automatically look at Jaehyun’s direction, trying to see if he hears Jaemin. It seems like he does, because then he waves at you, smiling brightly.
You have no choice but to wave back, smiling nervously. Not long after, Jaehyun gets on his bus, making you sigh in relief. However, you fail to notice Jaemin staring at you with puzzled looks. “You know him?”
Startled, you clutch your chest. Looking at your shoes, you try your best to answer him vaguely. “Yeah.”
Jaemin blinks, confused. “He’s a senior though. Where did you know him?”
Trying your best to maintain your composure, you answer him with a small voice. “Library.”
“But you don’t even—Wait, are you blushing?” Jaemin crouches down to take a better look at your face. You immediately look away, trying to hide your flushing cheeks although you know that it’s fruitless. “No.”
“What’s with the one word answers?”
“Stop!” You burst out, finally looking up at him. You know your cheeks are probably the same colour as a tomato right now, but you can’t handle Jaemin’s never-ending questions. “Just—stop, please.”
It seems like you have raised your voice a little bit too high because you could hear Jaemin’s quiet gasp, along with his widened eyes and slightly parted lips. Guilt starts to eat you from the inside when you see Jaemin slowly lowering his gaze, the lack of smugness in his face worrying you. You put your hand on his shoulder, trying to read his expression more clearly. “Jaemin, I’m sorry—I didn’t mean to yell at you.”
“Its fine.” Jaemin chuckles, but his voice sounds weak. He’s smiling, but you can’t help but to feel there’s something off about him. “Are you sur—”
“My little princess is growing up. You finally found your prince charming. ” Jaemin suddenly says with a dramatic voice, wiping invisible tears off his face. You can’t help but to crack a smile, hitting him playfully. “Shut up, you frog!”
Jaemin grins, ruffling your hair. “And here I am thinking that I’ll be your prince charming.”
“We only wave at each other, for god’s sake!” You chuckle, not really paying attention to his words. “Stop being so dramatic, Jaemin.”
He simply shrugs, a small grin sitting on his face. “I got it from you, though.”
“Yeah right.” You chuckle, feeling a little bit better now that the situation is back to normal. Jaemin doesn’t say anything anymore, but you feel like you owe him a story. “Whenever you have an extra class, I would always go to the library, just to pass some time. He happens to be one of the committee there.”
There’s no sound coming from his direction, so you continue talking.
“He asks for my number the other day.” You start, trying to maintain a cool facade although you could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks. You could feel his gaze on you, but you try your best to ignore it. “And he texts me last night, but that’s it.”
There’s a moment of silence, and you glance at Jaemin out of curiosity. For a brief moment you could see something that you decipher as misery in his gaze, but it disappears within a second. “Jaemin?”
“Ah, yeah. Sorry, I was thinking about—um. Never mind.” He nervously chuckles, and you look at him with a confused gaze. It is so unlike him to be nervous without a reason. You raise your eyebrow at him, noticing the slight difference in his tone. “Are you really oka—”
“So what did he say?” He cuts you off, looking up at the pitch black sky. He’s acting strange, but you couldn’t put your finger on it. You decide to shrug it off, thinking maybe he’s just a little bit tired. “You know, basic stuffs. Like books and things.”
Jaemin snickers, shaking his head. “Boring.”
“That’s... partially true.” You chuckle. “He’s very sweet and thoughtful though.”
Jaemin lets out a dramatic sigh, looking at you with pity. “If that’s what you like then I guess I can’t do anything about it.”
“Stop being so dramatic.” You shake your head, chuckling. “And stop implying that i like him. I do not like him that way.”
Jaemin merely grins.
“Whatever you say, princess.”
“Jaemin!”
Jaemin turns his head to the source of the voice, eyes gleaming at the sight of you slightly running at his direction. He walks up to you, chuckling when he sees the bead of sweats running down your face. “You really have to work out more, princess.”
You show him a toothy grin, still trying to catch your breath. Jaemin chuckles and pulls out a black handkerchief, wiping off your sweats with it. Your eyes widen when he does that, and even more when he does it correctly—not purposely dabbing your face harshly just to annoy you. “Thanks a lot, Jaemin.”
He shrugs, folding the handkerchief and putting it back into his pocket. “So why are you running? Did you miss me that mu—”
“You don’t have to wait for me today.”
Jaemin looks at you with furrowed eyebrows. “....What?”
Looking anywhere but his confused mien, you don’t know why you feel nervous. “I have... things to do. You don’t have to wait for me today.”
“What kind of things?” Jaemin narrows his eyes at you, both confused and suspicious. “I don’t mind waiting for you though. Its getting dark, Its not safe.”
You shake your head, looking down at your feet to hide your blushing cheeks. “It’s okay, Jaehyun’s walking me home.”
Even though your voice is barely audible, it sounds crystal clear to Jaemin. He merely nods, not asking anything anymore.
“Jaemin? Are you okay?” You ask him, concerned at his lack of response. Seeing his unreadable expression, you immediately feel bad for ditching him. “I’m sorry, but he asks for my help with the books rearrangement.”
Jaemin nods, but his gaze lacks of emotion. Your eyebrows furrow as you try to cheer him up. “I promise I’ll make it up to you, okay? How about that delicious waffle near the bus stop on Friday?”
At the mention of waffle, Jaemin finally looks at you. “Only if we get an extra scoop of ice cream.”
Happy that you manage to at least somehow make it up to him, your lips curve into a bright smile. “Deal.”
Jaemin chuckles at the obvious joy bubbling inside you, ruffling your hair gently. “Well, text me when you get home later okay?”
“Will do!” You answer him excitedly, giving him two thumbs up. Jaemin smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “I’m going now, y/n.”
Hearing him saying your name sounds slightly foreign now that you’re used to the cheesy pet name that he gives you. Nonetheless, you wave at him with a smile. “Be careful!”
He grins, waving back at you.
“You too.”
“Do you need any help with that?”
Shaking your head, you flash him a smile. “I’m good. What about you, though? You look like you need some help.”
Jaehyun chuckles, carrying as many books as he can in one go. He then arranges the book one by one into the shelf. “I’m perfectly fine.”
“If you say so.” You grin, hands never stop writing. There are a lot of books for a pretty small library, and you’re sure rearranging all of them must be a tiring work. But Jaehyun keeps refusing your help, and tells you to write down the books’ information instead. Compared to what he’s doing, its basically nothing. But since he doesn’t let you help him, you make sure you write down each word neatly.
“For the other day...” Jaehyun suddenly starts, voice a little bit hoarse. You look up at him, stopping your work just to listen to what he has to say. He stays still for a moment, before looking back at you. “I’m sorry that I suddenly text you in the middle of the night.”
“Its... totally fine.” You answer him quietly, continuing your work just to hide your smile. You could hear shuffling behind you, and you’re thankful that Jaehyun continues putting the books into the shelf.
“I know we never really talk but I really want to know you better. You seem like a really fun person.” Jaehyun says, voice barely audible. Its almost as if he doesn’t want you to hear him. You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks as you think about his words. This is new. This is the first time someone ever explicitly says that he’s interested in you. You don’t know what to respond, or how to act, so you try to play it off. “I’m the opposite of fun, though.”
To your surprise, Jaehyun chuckles. Your eyes widen as you stare at your handwritings, too scared to look up. You’re not trying to joke, so why is he laughing?
“See, you’re really cute.”
His voice suddenly sounds too close, and without even having to look up, you know he’s standing right behind you. You could feel your heart beating faster and faster, but you don’t know why it brings you anxiety rather than joy.
“Thanks....” You mumble quietly, trying so hard to ignore him and continue writing. After a moment, you could no longer feel his presence behind you and you let out a relieved sigh. Being around Jaehyun is a little bit intimidating, maybe because you don’t know how to act around someone that isn’t Jaemin.
“Hey, the other day at the bus stop...” Jaehyun starts again, catching your attention almost in an instant. You look up, hands stopping as your heartbeat begins to accelerate. “Yeah?”
He glances at you for a moment before focusing back on the books. “I can’t help but to notice..uh.. your friend. Jaemin, isn’t it?”
“Oh.” You can’t help but to feel slightly disappointed, but immediately pick up the pen to continue your work. “What about him?”
Jaehyun shrugs, putting the last book of the batch into the shelf. “Its just that… You two look very close. Childhood friends?”
“You can say that.” You respond, still neatly writing down the books’ information. “We’re neighbours, and we always go to the same school and somehow always ended up in the same class.”
Jaehyun nods, now standing beside you as he watches you work. “That explains why you’re always together.”
“We’re always bickering with each other though.” You chuckle, pulling the chair next to you for him to sit. Jaehyun mutters a small thanks, taking a seat next to you. He watches quietly as you continue to jot down any important details about the books, not muttering a single thing. After a while, it starts to bother you. You regret pulling the chair for him just a minute ago. Chuckling nervously, you look up at him. “Why are you looking at me? I thought we still have tons of books?”
He shrugs, a small smile sitting on his lips. “We do, actually.”
You tilt your head in confusion, trying to figure out what he’s trying to do. Jaehyun chuckles when he sees your puzzled expression, and stands up. “Its getting late, I think we should wrap it up soon.”
Your eyes widen as you look around, fully aware that there are still at least 3 giant boxes of books more. “Are you sure? We still have plenty of books.”
He shrugs, stacking the boxes on top of each other. “I could just finish it tomorrow. Its getting pretty late, we should go home.”
You check the time on your phone, and true to his words, its already 10.24. Nodding, you quickly help him throwing away the empty boxes and tapes. You then pack your belongings, quietly waiting as he makes sure nothing’s left behind. He grabs his bag and opens the door for you, letting you exit the room first. He then locks the door, putting the keys in his pocket. He smiles at you, the indentations in his cheeks making him looks angelic. “Shall we go?”
You nod, giving him a smile in return. As you both walk side by side, you can’t help but to feel nervous. This is the first time a guy other than Jaemin walks you home, and you don’t know how to act or what to talk about. The silence is slowly suffocating you, and you just want to escape the situation.
“You know.” Jaehyun suddenly starts, and you mentally sigh in relief. At least you don’t have to start first. He glances at you for a moment before looking straight ahead. “When I first saw you and Jaemin, I thought you two were dating.”
“What?” Startled, your eyes widen as you immediately stop in your track. You then chuckle, shaking your head at the ridiculous thought. “How could you think of that?”
Jaehyun shrugs, looking at you with unreadable expression. “You’re always together, and well, I accidentally heard him flirting with you so I thought you were a couple—or he has a crush on you.”
“He likes to joke around, he does that just because he knows it annoys me.” You chuckle, shrugging of the thoughts immediately. Jaehyun hums as a reply, nodding slightly. Silence fills the air once more, making you feel slightly uncomfortable. You’re glad when you see the bus stop a couple of steps ahead, fastening your pace. Maybe you’re just too shy to open up, but you feel very nervous around Jaehyun and you can’t figure out why. For now, your instinct tells you to just escape the awkwardness as soon as possible.
You turn around to face Jaehyun, ready to say your farewell. But to your surprise, Jaehyun stands still beside you.
“Aren’t you supposed to be waiting across the street?” You ask quietly, voice just above a whisper. Jaehyun looks at the bus stop, and then back at you. “Its okay, Its already late. I’ll take you home.”
A part of you is grateful for his thoughtfulness, but the other part of you is frustrated because you want to get yourself out of this awkward situation as quickly as possible, and him taking the bus with you means you have to endure another 15-25 minutes stuck in this awkwardness.
“You don’t have to, Jaehyun. I could go home on my own.” You politely refuse, trying so hard not to give in your primitive instinct to just scream ‘no’ and run away. Jaehyun looks at you with obvious disapproval, eyebrows raising. He then checks his watch and shows you. “Its almost 11. Its not safe.”
Biting your lips, you can’t help but to think about his offer. It’s not even an offer, it’s a statement. Yeah, its awkward, but its a lot better than potentially having to take the bus with creeps.
“Okay... Thanks Jaehyun.” You mutter quietly, shoving your hand into your pockets. Jaehyun simply grins at you, and you return the smile half-heartedly. The bus comes right after, you and Jaehyun immediately getting on the bus. You sit at the last row of the bus, your usual spot. Jaehyun sits next to you, closing the distance between your shoulders. You gulp as the bus starts to move, knowing that if neither of you initiate a conversation, it will be a long, painfully awkward bus ride. What should I say?
“Hey, do you know about the waffle place a couple blocks from here?” You start, voice a little bit shaky. You don’t know what else to say, and you think food would be the safest approach. Jaehyun scrunches up his face in confusion, shaking his head. “There’s a waffle place around here?”
You nod, getting excited at the mention of food. “Its not that fancy, but their waffles are to die for.”
“Is it that good?” Jaehyun chuckles when he sees your glimmering eyes. You immediately nod, a wide grin across your face. “Absolutely. Especially their mint chocolate chip waffles. Its one of their signature dishes.”
“You must’ve visited that place a lot, huh?” He grins, looking at you with such a gentle gaze. You try to ignore the look in his eyes, and nod, suddenly feeling nervous. “Y-Yeah... Me and Jaemin used to go there all the time. We still do, actually.”
The fondness in his gaze vanishes, but his smile doesn’t falter. He leans back against the back of the seat, a grin on his face. “Well, to be honest, I’m more into pancakes. But I’ll give it a try.”
You nod in approval, not noticing the rather smug grin he has on. “Is Friday alright?”
“W-What?”
He smiles brightly. “Are you free on Friday?”
You look at him with wide eyes, totally not expecting his offer. Your intention is only to try to make it not as awkward as before, but it seems like he misunderstands. Besides, you already promised Jaemin that you would treat him on Friday.
“I—I can’t.” You’re about to straight up refuse his offer, but his dimpled smile makes you feel bad. “Um, what about Saturday? I’m free on Saturday.”
You usually spend Saturdays with Jaemin, whether its going to the bookstore, eating out, or just lounging around all day. But you could maybe make a little time for Jaehyun. Just this time.
His smile turns into a frown as he shakes his head. “I have a few appointments on Saturday... How about Monday?”
Mondays are usually spent by studying at Jaemin’s house, as you both have weekly quizzes every Tuesday. This one, you couldn’t miss it. You shake your head, offering a small apologetic smile. “I have pop quiz every Tuesday, so I can’t.”
Jaehyun hums. “What subject is it?”
“Linear Algebra.”
“I could teach you, if you want.” He offers, lips stretching into a bright smile. You know he’s one of the top students in his year, and you know you could probably ace the test if Jaehyun’s the one teaching you. But for some reason, the thought of studying with Jaemin and being confused together seems a lot more appealing. So you shake your head politely. “Its okay. I can do it on my own. Thanks for the offer, Jaehyun.”
He shrugs, but the smile is still there. “Well, If you need anything, you can just tell me.”
“Will do.” You answer him shortly, offering a small smile. The bus finally comes to a stop a few moments later, and you get up from your seat. Jaehyun gets up as well, following close behind. You carefully get out of the bus, breathing in the cold crisp air. You turn around to face Jaehyun, giving him a small smile. “My house is already close from here, only a 10 minutes walk.”
It’s actually much closer, but you really don’t want Jaehyun to miss the last bus to his place. Or maybe you just don’t want him to walk you home. Either way, you’re just trying to send him home.
Jaehyun looks at you with concerned gaze. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure. I’ve lived here my whole life you know.” You chuckle, looking around the empty bus stop. “Its almost 11.30, and I don’t want you to be late for class tomorrow.”
Jaehyun checks his watch and nods. “Okay then. So... see you this Saturday?”
For a moment, you forget what he was talking about. When you do remember, you tilt your head in confusion. “I thought you’re busy this Saturday.”
He shrugs, a small grin sitting on his lips. “I could simply re-schedule my appointments. I’ll pick you up at 6?”
“Its alright, you don’t have to pick me up. We’ll just meet there at 6.” You offer him a small smile, hoping that he’ll let you go on your own. He looks like he’s thinking about it for a while, but then nods. “Okay, I’ll meet you there at 6.”
You nod, a part of you want to just leave already. Jaehyun then smiles. “Well, good bye then. Be careful.”
“You too.”
Jaehyun gives a final smile before hurriedly crossing the street to catch his bus. You watch as he gets on the bus and waves at you through the window, and you wave back at him as the bus slowly drives off. When the bus is completely out of sight, you let out a sigh. You feel guilty for sending Jaehyun home like this, but at the same time, you don’t feel completely comfortable with him around.
“Am I supposed to feel this way?” You mutter to yourself, wondering how you manage to somehow lose interest in Jaehyun in just a brief period of time. He’s sweet, smart, and handsome. He’s the perfect package, but being with him just doesn’t feel right. You keep telling yourself that it’s just the first meeting, but little do you know that there’s a completely different reason behind your sudden disinterest.
Making your way to your house, you couldn’t help but to think about Jaemin. Its nearly midnight. Without Jaemin’s presence, you never really come home past 10, and even that you usually text him and your parents first. Would he be worried?
A couple of minutes later, you arrive at your house. You try to be as quiet as possible when you open the metal gate, trying not to wake your whole family up. However, you nearly scream when you see Jaemin, sitting on one of the lawn chairs.
“Oh my god you nearly give me a heart attack.” You clutch your chest, panting slightly. “What are you doing here?”
There isn’t any sound coming from his direction, and the first thing that comes through your mind is he’s probably mad.
When you look up, however, you quickly notice that he’s asleep. “Oh...”
You quietly approach him, taking in his full appearance. He’s still wearing the same clothes as before, a sign that he hasn’t rested yet. His hand is loosely gripping his phone, and his other hand supporting the weight of his head.
You let out another sigh, feeling a lot worse than when you send Jaehyun home. He must’ve been worried...
Even though he teases and annoys you a lot, Jaemin is a really caring person. He tries to hide it by casually flirting and throwing cheesy pick up lines, but you know that he actually cares for you. You can’t express how grateful you are to have him as your best friend.
You stand still for a few moments, debating with yourself whether you should wake him up first or go in and make him something hot to drink first. Glancing at his peaceful face, you unconsciously smile. You will never admit it in front of his face, but for the longest time, you always think that he looks angelic when he sleeps. Jaemin often smiles in his sleep, and it’s the most beautiful smile you have ever seen. His smiles, grins, and laughs are all beautiful, but when he smiles in his sleep, its captivating. Its gentle and pure, it brings you peace just by seeing it. So breath-taking that you don’t want other people to see.
But this time, he’s not smiling, not even the slightest lift of the corner of his lips. His tensed eyebrows tell you everything that you need to know about his emotion right at this moment.
Gently shaking his shoulder, you try to wake him up. He stirs after a few seconds, eyes slowly opening. “y/n?”
“Hey.” You smile, slightly crouching down to meet his eye level. “Its getting cold, let’s go inside.”
“You’re safe.” Jaemin breathes out, relief washes over his face. His eyes are wide open, no longer sleepy. “I’ve been trying to call you for hours, do you know how worried i was?”
You wince in surprise, looking down at your feet. “I know, I’m sorry that—”
“Your mom told me that you didn’t tell her about coming home late today, so she asked me to try and contact you. You didn’t pick up any of my calls, but I told her that you have an extra class and you’re fine, just so she wouldn’t panic.” Jaemin cuts you off, standing up. He looks at you with a gentle gaze, something that you have never seen coming from a fully awake Jaemin before. He then sighs. “But I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t freaking out as well.”
“My phone died and I didn’t bring my charger. I’m so sorry, Jaemin.” You answer, unable to look him in the eye. For other people who might be watching, It might seems like something out of a cheesy drama, but this is Jaemin, your playful and flirty best friend, and if he’s being stern that means the situation is dead serious.
“Did something happen?”
You shake your head. “Nothing happened, I just lost track of time. I’m really sorry, Nana.”
He sighs when you call him by his childhood name, feeling his anger starts to wash away as time passes. Without a doubt, He then pulls you into his embrace, startling you. “N-Nana?”
“I’m just so glad that you’re okay.”
His words are short yet meaningful, and you could clearly hear the sincerity in his tone. You feel your body relaxes against his as you wrap your arms around him, returning the hug. “I’m sorry.”
He pulls back a little bit, just enough to look at you. He doesn’t have his usual flirty smug look, and all you could see is his relieved smile. “Just—don’t do it again, okay? At least tell your mom if you’re going to be home so late.”
You nod as a reply, a small smile sitting on your lips.
“Oh, and I thought that Jaehoon guy is supposed to walk you home?” Jaemin squints his eyes at you, now looking slightly intimidating. You chuckle awkwardly, pulling your body out of his embrace. “Jaehyun? Well,—"
“He didn’t ditch you, didn’t he?” His gaze turns dark, almost murderous. You quickly shake your head, surprised at the sudden coldness in his tone. “He didn’t! He got on the bus with me, and he offered to walk me home but I refused.”
Jaemin scrunches up his face. “As much as I hate him, it’s still a lot better if you let him walk you home instead of walking alone this late.”
“I know, I know. It’s just that it’s so awk—Hold up, did you just say you hate him?”
Jaemin tenses up. “I did not say that.”
“You did.”
“.... Go inside, you should rest.”
“Jaemin.” You emphasize his name. Jaemin sighs. “Fine. Yes, I did.”
“But why? He’s sweet and super smart.”
Jaemin lets out another sigh, folding his arms in front of his chest as his lips curve downwards into a frown. “He just seems sketchy, okay? There’s something about him that I don’t like.”
You scrunch up your face in confusion, wondering what is it about Jaehyun that makes Jaemin this upset. “Are you jealous of him?”
“W-What?”
You shrug. “Jaehyun’s one of the best student in his year, and he has an angelic smile. Even I’m jealous of him.”
Jaemin stares at you blankly. “Oh. Um, Maybe?”
“Well, if that’s the case then, just so you know, you don’t need to be somebody else to be great. You’re perfect just the way you are.” You feel a little silly talking about this kind of things with Jaemin, mainly because he usually has confidence dripping all over him. But if he really feels insecure because of how other guy looks, then its your job as his best friend to cheer him up.  “Christmas lights and flowers are both beautiful. But they’re different, right?”
Jaemin could only smile at your attempt to cheer him up, looking at you fondly. “Thanks, princess.”
You look up at him with a bright smile, happy that you manage to cheer him up. “Anytime, Nana!”
“Go inside and rest, now. We have morning class tomorrow.” Jaemin softly says, ruffling your hair. You nod, not even trying move away from his touch. “You too, Nana.”
Jaemin smiles and waits until you enter your house, then glances at the closed door. He lets out a sigh, gaze faltering. Without another word, he then leaves with a heavy feeling in his heart.
Ever since that night, Jaemin’s behaviour towards you change. Its not a major change, but it still affects you in many ways. He becomes a lot more caring and thoughtful, and he doesn’t flirt as much as he used to. Although he still teases you, but its not to the point that you want to rip his hairs off. Its the first time that you see him as a grown up man, not your childish best friend. And it has been messing up your mind since.
“Do you want more almonds?”
Snapping out of your trance, you look at him with puzzled gaze. “Huh?”
The old Jaemin would definitely tease you about having a granny’s hearing, and to be honest, that is what you expect him to response with.  But he doesn’t.
“Almonds, do you want more?” He simply repeats his words, looking at you with a gentle gaze. You shake your head, puzzled about his sudden change of behaviour. Its not like you don’t like it, you do like it, perhaps even a little bit too much. But its bothering you that you don’t know the reason behind his sudden change of behaviour.
“What are you thinking about? You look stressed.” His voice sounds like heaven to your ears. He speaks with a much gentler voice now, soothing you almost immediately.
“Okay now I’m really worried about you.” He chuckles, taking another bite of the waffle. You never realize that you like his voice so much until now. You merely shrug, a small grin sitting on your lips. “I was just thinking about the essay.”
Jaemin grins. “Liar.”
“Am not!” You immediately reply, shoving your face with another spoonful of the vanilla ice cream. Jaemin laughs when he sees you stuffing your face, taking a spoonful for himself. “Whatever you say, princess.”
Its ironic how you used to hate that pet name, but now you feel weird if Jaemin calls you by your real name.
“Eat up before the ice cream melts, princess.”
Lifting up your spoon, your lips curve into a bright smile. “No need to remi—”
Your words are cut off by the sudden loud music blasting from your phone, and you immediately accept the call without looking at the caller’s ID. “Hello?”
“y/n?”
You wince when you hear the familiar voice, now suddenly aware that you haven’t replied to any of his texts. “Hey, Jaehyun.”
Jaemin immediately goes back to eating when he hears Jaehyun’s name, trying to ignore whatever it is that you say on the line.
“I’m sorry I call you so suddenly like this, but you haven’t replied to my texts. I was worried that you might be sick or something.”
“Right... I’m sorry, I have been limiting my daily phone use. I probably fail to see your messages in between the other notifications. Really sorry, Jaehyun.” You make up a lie, feeling bad for ignoring him for days.
“Its fine, I was just making sure about tomorrow.”
Tomorrow? Your eyes widen when you realize that tomorrow is Saturday, and you’re supposed to have a date with him in this very same place you’re currently at. “Oh, tomorrow, yes, at 6 right?”
“Yeah, are you sure you don’t want me to pick you up?”
“Positive. Well, see you tomorrow, Jaehyun.” You chuckle awkwardly, making Jaemin glances at you.
“Okay then. See you tomorrow.”
Ending the call as soon as possible, you let out a sigh as you put your phone on the table. Jaemin glances at you once again, still quietly eating. “You have a date with him tomorrow?”
“Don’t call it a date.” You let out a small groan, taking another bite of the waffle. Over the days, you find yourself losing interest in him even more. “He’s a sweet guy, I don’t know why I’m being like this so suddenly.”
Jaemin puts down his spoon, taking a sip of his lemon tea. “Being like what?”
“Its like I’m not interested in him anymore. Which is pretty judgemental, considering that I’ve only met him a handful of times.” You let your head falls onto the wooden table. Jaehyun is sweet, smart, he’s also very attractive, but why couldn’t you just like him? You let a small sigh. “That night at the library was really awkward. I felt nervous the whole time he was with me. But not like butterflies in your stomach nervous, you know? Its strange.”
Jaemin hums, quietly munching on his food. You look up at him, noticing the lack of glints in his eyes. “Jaemin?”
“Maybe you just don’t like him.” He simply answers. You look up at him with raised eyebrows. “What’s not to like about him?”
“If you like him then you won’t be here with me right now, obviously.” Jaemin shrugs, finishing his waffle. You know he means if you really like Jaehyun then you would probably be with Jaehyun right now, not with him. But you can’t help but to think about it even further. If you like him then you won’t be here with ME…..
“If you really don’t want to go then don’t. Don’t force yourself.” Jaemin suddenly says in a stern tone, looking straight into your eyes. Lately he has been a bit more serious than he used to, but only on specific topics, and you can’t figure out why. You look up at him with blank stare, too much going on in your mind.
“y/n?”
Looking up at him with wide eyes, you gulp. It sounds weird to hear him call out your name now that you’ve grown to like the pet name. “y-yeah?”
Jaemin cracks a smile when he sees your blank expression. “Let’s just go. Its getting late. You could think about it later.”
“Oh, Yeah.” You pull out your wallet and is about to stand up and walk to the cashier when Jaemin suddenly takes your wallet from your hand and puts it back into your bag. “What?”
“I already paid for it.” Jaemin simply answers, smiling widely. You frown at him. “But I’m the one who is supposed to treat you, not the other way around.”
He smiles, ruffling your hair. “You can pay for our coffee next time.”
“Fine.” You huff, mentally cursing yourself for spacing out too much that you failed to notice when Jaemin paid the foods. Walking in silence, your mind wanders back to what he said. The tone that he used, his choice of words, its almost seems like he’s trying to tell you something. You snap out of your trance when Jaemin ruffles your hair, smiling gently at you. “Our bus is here.”
Wordlessly, you nod, following him into the bus. Seated at your usual spot, you can’t help but to look at Jaemin. There’s nothing new about his appearance, he doesn’t change or add a thing about his appearance. But you can’t help but to feel there’s something different about him. Stopping your gaze at his face, you find yourself lost in those gleaming orbs. You never realize how beautiful his eyes are, how his long lashes beautifully frame his eyes, or how deep and strong his gaze is.
“y/n?” Jaemin calls, obviously concerned. “Are you sure you’re okay? Do you feel sick?”
When his voice calls out your name, you flutter your eyes shut, enjoying how your name smoothly rolls on his tongue. During the brief period of your eyes tightly shut, you’ve finally come to a realization. Your lips curve into a smile as you’re finally able to accept something that you have been subconsciously denying for a long, long time.
“Y/n?”
When Jaemin’s voice calls your name once again, you open your eyes. You look at his concerned gaze and smile gently.
“I have to see Jaehyun tomorrow.”
“y/n!”
You look up from your phone, a small grin forms on your face when you see Jaehyun. “Hey, Jaehyun.”
The said guy smiles, taking a seat right in front of you. “Its nice to finally see you. I didn’t see you at all last week.”
“Yea, I went home immediately after class, wasn’t feeling really good last week.” You shrug, actually telling the truth. Its not like you’re avoiding him or anything. “Anyway, are you allergic to nuts?”
Confused, Jaehyun shakes his head. “No, why?”
“Okay great.” You let out a relieved sigh. “I ordered the best item in the menu for you, and it has tons of almonds in them.”
Jaehyun chuckles, smiling at you fondly. “Well, even if I am, If you’re the one who ordered it for me, then I’ll still probably eat it.”
Chuckling nervously, you could feel your palms getting sweaty. “Look, Jaehyun, There’s something that I have to tell you.”
Jaehyun smiles, the dimples in his cheeks making an appearance. “Its about Jaemin, isn’t it?”
“H-How..”
Jaehyun shrugs, leaning back against the back of the chair. “Its kind of obvious.”
You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks as you digest his words. “Obvious?”
“Well, yeah.” Jaehyun laughs at your dumbfounded expression. “Its obvious that you like him just as much he likes you, but after a while of observing, I noticed that you haven’t realized your feelings just yet. That’s also why I try to squeeze my way in. I was thinking maybe I have a chance before you realize your feelings.”
You listen to him with a mixed emotion, guilt being the dominant one. But at the same time, you’re glad that you realize your feelings when your relationship with Jaehyun is still considered as friends, and haven’t escalated into something more.
“Worth the try.” Jaehyun adds, a rather joyless smile on his face. You feel bad seeing him like this, but it must be done. Staying quiet as you digest his words, you realize something that you fail to notice before. “Wait, What did you say?”
Jaehyun looks up at you with confused gaze. “Worth the try?”
You shake your head. “No, at the beginning.”
“At the beginning?... Its obvious that you like him as much as he likes you?” Jaehyun asks, not sure. Your eyes widen when you finally hear his words correctly. “He likes me???”
Jaehyun stares at you with raised eyebrows, eyes widening in surprise. “Wait, you don’t even know that he likes—oh my god don’t tell me that—what world are you living in??”
You stare at him with wide eyes. “He likes me???”
Jaehyun lets out a small chuckle as he shakes his head. “Yes, He does. Don’t you notice his heart eyes for you? Or that he only flirts with you? Even I noticed.”
To think again, you never see Jaemin acting all flirty towards other people. You never see Jaemin teasing other people. Jaemin is friendly, yes, but he never flirts with other people. He rarely jokes around with other people, but he’s always telling you corny jokes and laughing along with you. And no matter how angry he is, he never treats you badly. Now it becomes clear of why he doesn’t like Jaehyun.
“Jaehyun, call me princess.”
He looks up at you, surprised. “What?”
“Call me princess, just this one time.” You repeat your words, trying to test something. Jaehyun chuckles, the corner of his eyes crinkling. “I mean, I wouldn’t mind calling you that every single day if I could, but i couldn’t so, okay princess.”
You scrunch up your face in disgust, but your lips curve into a smile. “It’s so cringey I might die.”
“What are you trying to prove?” Jaehyun cracks a smile, shaking his head in disbelief. You shrug, but the smile doesn’t leave your face. “Nothing.”
Jaehyun clucks his tongue. “You’re not exactly a good liar, you know.”
You chuckle, unable to contain the happiness within you.  Jaehyun watches closely as your cheeks begin to turn pink, a small smile on his face. I never had a chance to begin with.
“Well, what are you waiting for then?”
Confused, you look up at him to seek an answer. “What?”
Jaehyun chuckles. “Why are you still here? Go.”
“But—What about you?” You look at him with a concerned gaze, a part of you is ready to just run home to meet Jaemin, but another part of you wants to stay, feeling guilty about ditching your date. “I can’t just leave you.”
“You don’t have to feel bad or anything. Its not like you rejected me.” Jaehyun chuckles, running his fingers through his hair. “This isn’t really a date anyway. We never really call it a date, don’t we?”
He is right, but your feet are glued to the ground. You can’t just ditch people, its rude and impolite. Jaehyun notices your doubt, and smiles softly. “Its okay, y/n. Just go. I’ll be fine.”
“I’m sorry, Jaehyun.” You sigh, looking up at him with apologetic look. “For everything.”
Jaehyun merely smiles. “I told you, You’ve done nothing wrong. You don’t have to be sorry.”
“I also want to thank you.”
Jaehyun raises his eyebrow. “What for?”
“For everything.” You smile brightly at him, genuinely thankful for his sudden appearance in your life. If it’s not for him, you would probably still live your life the same as before, subconsciously denying your feelings towards Jaemin.  Jaehyun looks a little bit surprised for a moment, but his gaze softens. “You’re welcome. Now go, Tell him how you feel.”
“Thank you, Jaehyun.” You flash him a smile, getting up from your seat. “Enjoy the waffle, okay? I specifically order it for you! My treat!”
Jaehyun chuckles as he watches you dash outside the small cafe, shaking his head in disbelief. He lets out a small sigh as a waiter approaches him, setting down a plate of caramel waffles in front of him. He mutters a small thanks to the waiter, chuckling quietly when he notices the crazy amounts of almonds covering the waffles. “There sure is a lot of almonds.”
When he’s about to take a bite, however, he quickly notices the 4 letter word written in caramel sauce on the edge of the plate. He grins when he realizes that you were originally planning to apologize through a waffle. Taking a bite of the waffle, he thinks to himself.
I did the right thing.
Stopping right in front of the mahogany door, you suddenly feel overwhelmed. While on your way here, you keep thinking about how he’s going to react, what kind of smile is he going to show, and all the positive things that you hope will happen. But you only realize that there’s a possibility that things might go the opposite when you’re standing in front of his door.  What if Jaehyun was wrong about him? What if Jaemin doesn’t like me? What if he rejects me? What if he actually hates me?
Endless what ifs run through your mind, and you can’t do anything about it besides actually thinking of the outcome. You feel your heart is about to burst out from the extreme amount of adrenaline rushing through your body. You close your eyes for a second, trying to calm yourself down.
A few moments later, you raise your hand, knocking the wooden door softly. There’s no sound coming from inside the house, so you knock again, a little bit louder this time. There’s a shuffling sound before a muffled ‘coming’ can be heard. Not even a second later, the door is opened, revealing a very confused Jaemin. “Y/n?”
There’s a slight pang in your heart when he calls you by your name, your anxiety making it seems like he’s not happy to see you. He doesn’t call you princess, and he’s not even smiling. He probably just woke up from a nap, stop overthinking y/n.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on a date with Jaehyun?” He asks, but to you it sounds like he’s mocking you. You know its just your mind playing tricks on you, so you try your best to push all the negative thoughts aside. “I—I’m…”
“Are you okay?” Jaemin takes a step forward, pressing his hand against your forehead. His hand feels cold against your burning skin, and you let out a sigh. No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to push all the unnecessary thoughts aside, and its eating you up. I was so happy on my way here, why can’t I keep being happy?
“y/n?” Jaemin calls out gently, realizing your faltering gaze. He lifts your face with his thumb and index finger, trying to read your expression. “What happened?”
“There’s something that I need to tell you...”
Jaemin raises his eyebrow, looking at you with concerned gaze. “What is it?”
It’s now or never. You shut your eyes tightly, not strong enough to look at him.
“I like you, Jaemin.”
Your confession is greeted by immediate silence, and you could feel your heart starts to break. At that moment, you know you’ve ruined it. You try to hold back your tears, knowing well enough that if you open your eyes, tears would be streaming down your face right away. I shouldn’t have done that. Jaehyun was wrong, he doesn’t like me that wa—
“Do you know how long I’ve waited for you to say that?”
What? You slowly open your eyes, and immediately greeted by a blushing Jaemin. Is he...
Jaemin wraps his arms around you, pulling you into his embrace. He buries his face in the crook of your neck, his breath feels hot against your skin. “You have no idea how happy you make me.”
“Does this mean that...” You start, speechless at how this turns out.
“That I’m head over heels for you? Yes, Without a doubt.” Jaemin responds, his voice sounds a little bit deeper than usual. You could feel all your anxiety and negative thoughts vanish immediately, as joy starts to take their place. This is where you truly belong, in his arms.
Jaemin pulls away just enough so he could look at you, gently lifting your face with his fingers. His gaze is gentle, and his orbs glimmer under the dim lighting. His gaze lingers right at your cupid bow, as he slowly moves closer.
“I really want to kiss you.” He whispers, voice dropping almost an octave lower. Your heartbeat starts to fasten as he moves even closer, the distance between your lips and his is only an inch. He stops, glancing at you. “Can I?...”
You nod, not trusting your voice. His lips curve into a smile before he slowly closes the distance between his lips and yours. You let your eyes flutter shut as he moves his lips against yours, cherishing the feeling of his slightly chapped lips on your smooth ones. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach going crazy as he tilts his head, deepening the kiss. You smile into the kiss, unable to hold it in any longer. The euphoria that you’re feeling at the moment couldn’t compare to anything that you’ve ever felt before.
Jaemin slowly pulls away, a breath-taking smile gracing his lips. “I’ve been wanting to do that for a long, long time.”
Chuckling softly, you bury your face into his chest instead, trying to hide your blushing cheeks. Jaemin cracks a smile when he catches a glimpse of your flushed cheeks, tightening his arms around you. “All this time I thought you will never return my feelings...”
“I’m sorry it takes so long for me to realize my feelings.” You quietly whisper, wrapping your arms around his waist. Jaemin chuckles, pressing a kiss against your temple. “It doesn’t matter anymore now that you’re here, princess.”
Your body relaxes at the pet name he uses, a smile gracing your lips. “It turns out that you are my prince charming after all.”
Jaemin chuckles, the corner of his eyes crinkling.
“Glad you finally realized that, princess.”

I dare u to write yourself as the maincharacter (ex instead of marinette it's you) in ANY scene (love confession, fluff, angst, action etc..) using description of urself within ANY fandom. Good luck ;)
Oh my god. Alright, anon this is a war lmao XD my one sided annihilation begins now. I swear this will be the ultimate cringefest. I apologize in advance guys, I'm sorry if you have to use bleach on your eyes.
I was tempted to write that fluffy confession/romance stuff (even tho I'm not that good at writing fluff) but I chose the other route because...it's more me lol. Instead of ML, I tried out BNHA. Also, first POV was much too cringey for me.
Turbulent Emotions
She was still just a side-kick for the Big Three, Tamaki more so than Mirio or Nejire.
Even though the ethusiastic girl wanted to have her on the team ('It's about time another girl joins our group!') Mirio advised she was a better match with Tamaki, due to the similarity of their quirks.
Her quirk was something that manifested at a young age, just like with most children.
Her parents had noticed it the first time when she'd accidentally burned her food (and plate) when the wretched broccolli had found its way on it, something 4-year old her definitely did not like at the time.
The fire licking at the tips of her fingers had causes her to cry, even if the flames didn't burn her nor those she loved around her.
She'd learned her quirk was something tied to her emotions.
She'd use fire when angry, the wrath within her converting into heat. Indifference and passiveness converted into ice, happiness converted into beams of light or flowers.
Sadness turned into water or any other liquidized substances, mud was particularly gruesome (she'd like to throw it at someone but was too sad to and when she would try to get angry, the mud would turn to ash).
It was similar yet different to Tamaki's quirk Manifest, he'd transform his body into anything he ate, hers was transforming her emotions into something tangible.
She supposed she was a good support in a fight, the only real problem was to get her angry. She had a high tolerance for assholes and working with Tamaki, who was the epitome of the complete opposite, wasn't a big help in trying to make her mad.
He flat out refused trying to anger her, even if it was to their benefit and not meant in any serious way. That was a bit of a stitch in their teamwork dynamic.
Like now.
"Tamaki!"
The quirk user quickly deflected another bout of swords aimed at him and his companion, his tentacles covered in resistant scale-like armor (that turtle soup had been a good idea) that caused the blades to harmlessly bounce off him, "N-No!"
She could feel frustration slowly taking over her being, "Tamaki, we don't have time for this! More villains are going to come!" she was virtually useless without high strung emotions, so she tried compensating by training as a close combat fighter.
Uraraka and Gunhead certainly helped there.
She executed a series of kicks and punches to the villain, whose jaw tried snapping at her limbs every chance it got, usually when she performed high jumps and was suspended in mid-air for a few seconds.
Until Tamaki's tentacles snatched her away to his side, his armor thankfully keeping up, "Why?!" her frustrated shout could be heard through the whole park.
She liked Tamaki, he was a sweetheart, but behaving like this was going to get them killed.
Tamaki was powerful in his own right, he'd already taken on several villains on his own but a whole group of them was coming this way and she was nothing but deadweight in a fight if he didn't get her angry this instant.
"Why?! I-I can't just insult you! I won't do it!" his stubborness was surprisingly high during fights, especially if he had the impression any of his friends or teammates were in danger.
The dangerous snapping turtle they were up against didn't help either, digging it's sword-like appendages at Tamaki's armor.
She stomped her foot, slamming it on his transformed claw one and he yelped in pain, "Ow! That-"
She grabbed a hold of his jacket and shouted at his face, her body starting to glow, "If you don't drop your sweetass persona we'll both get bludgeoned! So, I suggest you either talk shit to me or hit me because I'm useless without my goddamn quirk!"
It'd taken a split second for the villain to use a opening in Tamaki's armor, a bladed claw thrusting through and nearly stabbing her, until white hot flames suddenly melted the metal straight off.
The villain cried out, his metal limb still melting in the face of the burning heat radiating off of her body as she began approaching him, a murderous intent making her eyes stand out like those of a demon's.
Tamaki's scales were protecting him well enough, but even he took a step back when the rest of the villains entered the scene.
He had a plan.
Tamaki allowed a small smile to grace his lips and that certainly caught the woman's attention, "Oh, so you're smiling now?! Think you're funny, huh?" she grit her teeth, grabbing the head of the sobbing villain still gingerly holding onto his melting limbs, "You know what else is funny?! Me burning you to fried chicken Tamaki!"
An explosive blast similar to Bakugou's calibre burned a path through the ground, decimating a long line of villains in her way.
It was working.
Tamaki cleared his throat, adopting a innocent expression, "B-But you know I-I can't insult you! And hitting you is definitely out of the question! Y-You're my partner and-"
Her ire grew and she inadvertedly sent another villain flying to the skies when her burning fist swung out in frustration, "Partner my ass!"
Another villain got stomped to the ground brutally.
"I'm useless without my quirk!"
Another villain fell to his knees at the smoking smell and burning sensation of his lower half.
"If I say you have to anger me-"
A villain was about to attack her from her blind spot, but Tamaki's claw easily shoved him out of the way as his partner raged at him.
"-Then you have to at least try and anger me Tamaki!"
The male smiled, retracting his tentacles, "I think you did fine on your own." his impish smile, a smile she didn't often see on his nervous and shy face, made her pause.
Wait...
She turned around, watching the massacre she'd caused.
The villains were still alive, she hoped, but in various states of agony. Some were craddling smoking body parts, others had been flung onto trees and some were laying in heaps of groaning burning flesh on the ground in agony.
She stiffened in embarrassment, "Uh-oopps." she covered her mouth with her hands, her nervousness getting the better of her, "T-T-Ta-Tama-"
The pro-hero walked to her side, patting her shoulder like he did to Kirishima, "You did good." for the first time since he'd started taking on apprentices (not counting Kirishima) he'd felt proud of his shy and mild mannered nature.
He was unable to anger her on purpose, but he could anger her on accident.
She groaned and covered her face, lightly hitting his shoulder, "This wasn't supposed to go like this... Fatgum will kill me."
Tamaki chuckled, "I don't think so, he'll probably scold me though..." he shivered at the memory of entering his agency and getting mocked by Fatgum whenever the hero sung him what he dubbed as 'praises'.
She snorted softly, giggling, "You're a good guy Tamaki, I'm happy you followed your heart and it still worked out in the end." redness spread over her cheeks and she shifted her weight, "Uh...I'm sorry for getting mad at you earlier, I didn't realize your plan..."
The quirk-user shook his head, his tentacles already gathering the fallen villains and tying them with rope for the other pro-heroes, "It's fine, I think Mirio was right."
She rose an eyebrow at his statement.
Tamaki offered a small, kind smile, "I guess we really are a good team."
She grinned in relief, helping him gathering the villains, most of them cowering in fear whenever she moved close to them.
It was a good day.
Bonus:
"Tamaki! Good job out there!" Fatgum roughly patted the youth's back and Tamaki leaned his head against the wall, a dark aura surrounding him.
"Why do you have to mock me all the time..."
Fatgum turned his bright grin towards his new apprentice, "I had no idea Tamaki was such a sly fox, but I admit it was a clever way to make use of your quirk! I'm proud of you." he patted her shoulder and she nodded, bowing.
"Thank you sir!"
Fatgum smiled widely, "No need calling me sir! Let's get some ice-cream as reward!"
Her mood immediately brightened, "Ice-cream?!"
Small petals and flowers immediately manifested and fell over her hair and arms, a petal falling on Tamaki's head and Fatgum and her both laughed at his sigh.
I'm so sorry for this cringe. (Hides)

“Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift
Well, it was only a matter of time.
Hey y’all, it’s Mod Birdie, and for my first post on this blog, I’ll be covering a song that more talented people have already torn to shreds. Yes, I am fully aware that this song is widely hated, and has been reviewed and dragged through the dirt since it first came out. But here I posit a revolutionary idea.
What if this song...
isn’t that bad?
Oh god wait no please don’t leave.
It sucks. A lot. But certain aspects of it don’t suck as much, and honestly, that’s what makes it as bad as it is.
Let me explain.
Let’s just touch on the backstory, just so you can understand where this piece of shit came from. Kanye included a line about making Taylor famous in his song “Famous”, she got pissed, everyone sided with her, and then holy SHIT Kim K. West posts a video of Kanye on the phone with one Taylor Swift, notifying her of the lyric and gaining her whole-hearted support. Down comes Taylor, toppling down from the tower of victimhood she’s been building brick by brick since the 2009 VMAs.
So now Taylor is not the victim, but the villain. The manipulative, snakey, lying... this is getting off-track. Point is, she can no longer put forth her image of wholesome pop-country singer (that had already started to disappear following the release of Bad Blood).
Look What You Made Me Do is like Bad Blood except without the enjoyably cheesy video. It is, for lack of a better word, cringey.
Let’s start with the video, shall we?
Tumblr media
We open on an overhead shot of a graveyard, where eagle-eyed viewers will spot T-Swizzle’s initials spelled out with gravestones. The old Taylor is dead, guys. This is the new Taylor. It’s not a phase, this is who she really is, and you totally just don’t get it, Mom!!
The music, right when it starts, is... well, remember how I said this song wasn’t all that bad? This is where that comes into play.
The very first instrument we hear is some sort of stringed instrument being plucked in staccato (or possibly a music box being played), giving it kind of a horror-movie vibe right off the bat. In the background are... violins? Cellos? Violas? Again, some sort of string instrument, playing long, low notes, also adding to the aforementioned creepy vibe.
Whatever that instrument is, I’m a sucker for it. I actually like the opening - it almost sounds like we’re gonna hear some twisted lullaby. If this came on the radio, and I had no idea what was about to follow, I’d be at least a little interested in what might follow. Unfortunately, what follows is this.
Tumblr media
Don’t look at me like that, you brought this on yourself.
The almost-interesting opening is replaced with a painfully basic electronic beat (kick-SNARE-kick-kick-SNARE) that goes on, and on, and on... under Taylor’s, er, rapping.
Tumblr media
Okay, it’s not exactly rapping, just like how this isn’t exactly a diss track. It’s more of a “sing-talk” kind of thing - you know, what Kesha used to be ridiculed for. But while Kesha’s almost-rap was fun, enjoyable and harmlessly trashy, this is a pain to sit through. Kesha never tried to pretend she had any street cred or acted like we had to take her seriously. Taylor is different. Taylor wants us to know that she’s very, very serious and very badass and you really shouldn’t fuck with her. Taylor can beat you up. She takes karate.
The lyrics seem to imply that she was forced into the role of the “bad guy” and we should all be sorry for her, but that doesn’t work well when she’s also trying to lean into the villainous image.
Now, is what I meant about it having parts that didn’t suck, and how those parts make it suck more. The pre-chorus returns mercifully to the theme from the intro (and to actual singing), giving us a satisfying buildup, hyping us up for the payoff, and...
OOOH, LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO! YOU MADE ME DO THIS THIS IS ON YOU
The whole song grinds to a halt, the beat comes back in full force, and Taylor has abandoned all pretense of singing, deciding that she will now subject us to genuine rapping. It’s like going up, up, up on a roller coaster, preparing yourself for the drop, looking over the ledge, then falling two feet and running head-first into a brick wall. And that’s a gentle way of putting it.
And so the song continues on and on just like that, with the bridge being kind of a break. But here’s something I want to touch on that appears specifically in the music video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Taylor Team. The Swifty Squad. The Victim, uh... I can’t think of a synonym for “group” that starts with a V.
What is this. Why. Why would you put this in. It’s campy and dumb and makes you look like a worse actor than we already know you are. Were you trying to seem like a manipulative puppetmaster, two steps ahead of all the normies? Cause it’s not worth it.
In conclusion, Taylor Swift is not smart, she is not ahead of the game, and she is not good at writing electronic music. What else is new.

infinities x wormholes (SETBACKS)
I honestly have no idea how to start this. So I guess if this intro sucks, you know now why. LOL.
I’m still not sure how to begin this to be frank but yes, of course, I know I need to start somewhere anytime soon and stop beating around the bush.
Setbacks.
Tumblr media
Let’s start with this word because if you’ve got to read the very first blog I posted this year, you will already have an idea of why this word made it to the title of this blog post. And if you haven’t read that yet, well, go to that post first and read it. I linked it on the word ‘Setbacks’ above. This post will make more sense if you do that first. I swear. Although, of course, if you don’t want to be bothered, just continue reading, and PLEASE HAVE AN OPEN MIND while reading this entire entry. Okay? Thank you. Because we need to be mature here if we are going to do this together ^.^
Tumblr media
Now let’s get this straight on. I’ve been engaged since late 2016, I just said on my previous blog post that it’s late 2017 because we only started making serious wedding and finally settling down together kind of plans half way through 2017. Yes, I know, it may sound like we’re not taking it that seriously to just plan and make everything work on a short amount of time. And I won’t lie, so yes, that is probably one of the few reasons why the wedding didn’t push through this year. It’s simple, we’re obviously not ready for it. You know, emotionally, YES OF COURSE WE ARE DEFINITELY INTO IT. There’s no argument there, and whoever you ask from the both of us about it, we won’t think twice for the answer. However, ladies and gentlemen, we are living in the real world here and not in some chick flick movie hence there are some adult stuff and real shits that we have to handle that you know, we didn’t expect that will hit our unpreparedness real hard.
So now, you might wonder how I felt after everything. Well, I guess I’ll have to say first how we came up with the decision of postponing it and all the jazz of handling the aftermath of the postponed wedding.
Tumblr media
Well, okay, you see, this blog post was a bit hard for me to write and you know, put more of my feelings out there when I wasn’t even sure of what I was feeling. It’s been almost 2 months already since I started constructing this, but now that it’s officially one week before our 3rd year anniversary, I know exactly what to put on here.
I realized, for over a month of trying to finish this entry, this is just how far I’ve come to. Not even ¼ through with what I want to share. Actually “would’ve” now since part of my realization before finishing and posting this on here, is that, you know, I don’t really like the idea anymore of putting my life out here. Especially my lovelife. First of all, because it slid my mind that Gravity is a very private person and to be honest, so far, I’ve loved how the privacy of our relationship feels like. It feels more secure. If that makes any sense.
Tumblr media
NO FRET, though. This post will still have something in it. I’ll still share my thoughts about our relationship. It may not be that detailed but I promise I’ll be sharing an honest to God feelings and thoughts of mine.
Let me just answer the question of how we’ve got to agree to postpone the wedding I think. That’s much better to start with, yeah?
Tumblr media
So this is how it went. Gravity and I have known each other for almost 4 years now which technically to be honest makes us to have been dating for over 3 years already. But then again, we just knew for ourselves I guess that we would need to make a sturdy foundation first if we both want a serious and committed romantic relationship with each other. And yeah, in 6 months from when we first met online, I think we did just that in the best way we can. Unintentionally, but obviously it worked for us after all. Hence when he’s frustrated, or you know, agitated about something, I can almost instantly sense it. And yes, even despite the distance, I just can, okay? That’s why when he was acting like that one week (or maybe over a week) before his arrival here back in May, I just knew that we’ll be talking about some serious shit. As expected by yours truly, one day, it happened. He was the one who brought it up first. Yow girl though, being the cancer (like the zodiac sign, okay?) that I am, of course got upset and said some stuff that well, I guess pretty unnecessary but still never regretted anything I said that time though cause a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, you know. I needed that sudden outburst for me to get myself together and you know, collect myself after a bit of lashing out. In my defense, it’s not that I was so mean to him but I did act like a bitch. LOL. I asked him nicely though to give me some space and all that jazz for me to think about it.
After a few hours (or was it just even less than an hour? LOL not sure anymore), I got myself collected, and told him…yes, I’ll be quoting myself cause it’s cringey as f*ck, so here you go. LOL. I said, and I quote, “You know what’s worse? You gave me a date, you gave me hope, and you gave me something to look forward to.” And so on and so forth. Just know that I did lash out before that part. Like it’s a 10 chat bubbles comprised at least 100-200 words each. There’s even this CRINGY ASS BUBBLE WITH WORDS IN CAPSLOCK. Like everything in it and I quote again, “I HAD MY FUTURE SO CLEAR TO ME ALREADY *HIS NAME*. WITH YOU, TOGETHER WHERE WE GET TO HAVE A HOME, WHERE I CAN FINISH A DEGREE WHILE YOU GET TO YOUR HIGHEST POTENTIAL IN YOUR CAREER, AND WHERE I CAN TRULY BE HAPPY ONCE AND FOR ALL.” Yes, I know, cringey and cringy all at the same time. Now y’all know now, don’t let your happiness be a person nor like just a mere plan. Just BE happy. No hows, whens nor whys. Even buts actually, don’t ever do that. Or you’ll end up just like me. I mean, it’s not that I didn’t know all of that before we had the plan of getting married or whatnot. It’s just that, you know, even if you know for yourself what is right for you, in times like what happened to me and if you’re as weak as me, it will surely slip your mind and you’ll just be that one petty person who’ll just be living in his/her own fairytale.
Tumblr media
But I did end my verses with a very light note though, and I quote once again, “I know our lives are stressing us out right now. Yes, it’s overwhelming to the point that we’ll really get to question if we’re doing this the right way. But please, think of how long we’ve waited for this time to come. Our individual agony because distance is keeping us apart and we can’t be there for each other when we both really need at least just a hug for comfort. But again, as I said up there, I’m not going to force you to continue the wedding if you’re really not ready yet though. Just tell me ASAP lolz so I can go back to work than doing nothing.” And sent that with a laughing emoji. That easy. Although I must say that I did really feel so heavy that time. Which is reasonable too, I guess during those moments. HAHA.
Now though, that I’ve already seen the silver lining of the wedding getting postponed (?), I do really think that I was being such an irrational girl. Like I was seriously just being a girl who’s complaining of how her happily ever after is not happening anymore. I am facepalming myself so hard everytime I think of those days. Because honestly, though, I didn’t even have a visa yet when he’s about to arrive already so what was I really expecting? LMAO. Besides, to be completely honest, it was part of my lashing out that I get to tell him how terrified I was of the plan but I still pushed it through just because I was convincing myself that it was the right thing to do. So when I’ve re-read everything, I’m just relieved in a whole different level.
Tumblr media
I won’t just share anymore about Gravity’s one month vacation here because it wasn’t really that eventful. One thing’s sure though. That long time together didn’t let us see or you know, make us realize that it’s the right thing that we didn’t push through the wedding because we couldn’t stand each other after all. On the contrary, it made us realize how much of a right thing that decision was because his stay here proved to us that we do really want to be together and it’s really way different than being apart. Hence, planning out everything, even not the wedding first, is very important. Just so we can be sure that we really will be together soon. We just need to be patient and work on it more seriously now. Because it’s not a thing for kids, really. It requires two adult that understand and know each other well enough to make a long term decision together.
So, I think I’ll just wrap this up now with this.
We’ve been together way longer than how most people get to be in a relationship now. And you know, despite that, I am convinced still that no matter how much that we do feel like we’ve known each other so well already, that’s not really the defining thing that would let us be really together just like how we very much wanted it to be. It’s not that easy, because every single day is every single opportunity also for us to grow into something that would let us be who we want to be as an individual. Our love for each other, it’s not just that that would keep us together. We’re best friends and not just lovers, y’all should know that. And no matter what, we would still care for one another. Hence, y’all should know also that in whatever circumstances, we would always choose the option of making each other the best of who we can be as a two different person.
Tumblr media
We do have plans now. Again, for us, together, for the near future. And yes, I can picture it happening. You know, somehow. But for now, I’m happy that we’re happy just how it is going. We’re not rushing things to get into their places, and I’m glad that we’re letting it be that way. Most importantly, you know what I’m most grateful for? It’s that I have someone who won’t ever fake a dream and give it to me just to make me happy and satisfied. I’m thankful that no matter how hard it is, I have a person, a best friend that would always live in reality with me, supporting me to be the better person that I want to be, and to have everything that I deserve in life. And you what? I wouldn’t want it in any other way.
Always keep in mind, Happiness is not finding the right person, but happiness is being the right person. OKAY?

Beginning Thoughts of the Fall Anime Season 2017 . . .
Welp, fall is here, and as usual, it is time for me to do my annual first impressions of the season’s anime titles.  My gods if you thought the amount of shows I checked out last season was a lot, this season’s amount is insane.  This season, so far, I have checked out 22 shows thus far and plan for at least 7 more to pick up.  Insane, right?  So how do they stack up so far?   Let’s see.  Also, please keep in mind, that these are solely based off of the first one or two episodes, and are purely my opinion, so if my opinion is different than yours, then I’d love to here it.   Also, I will try to remain as spoiler free as possible.
Netojuu no Susume:  Studio Signal.MD
Tumblr media
Dropped.  Alright, so I feel like I have to mention this.   I’m a serious gamer.  More specifically, I love me some MMOs.  How much you ask?   Well, so much so that I actually met my husband on World of Warcraft.  Insane right?  I mean my god you do not want to see our /played time on that game.  So, needless to say, I am a bit critical on gaming anime because of this, because I know what it’s like.   This anime was just. . . . cringey.  I found myself sighing every chance I got and by the 20 minute mark, completely turning it off.  Everything about the first episode was just  . . . bad.  There’s really just no redeeming qualities. . . well, one line said by the Guild Master which was something along the lines of “you have no idea what her irl gender is.”  I laughed.  It’s accurate.  85% of female toons you see on wow are actually guys. Anyways, moving on.
Evil or Live:  Haoliners Animation
Tumblr media
Dropped.  Mmmm  I had such high hopes.  After reading the summary, I will admit, I was hyped for this show.  On Paper, this show sounds wonderful.  I thought it was going to be some horror psychological thriller that at the end of it left you questioning the very meaning of the world around you or something.  Instead, what happened?   I . . .don’t even know.  The series starts off with massive amounts of Live Action, which, while being completely unexpected, I didn’t mind so much; the series became an instant drop for me when the MC and Co were clearly showing a break from reality and needed actual mental help, was beaten instead.   It wasn’t “horror” or “edgy” it was just poor writing.  Needless to say, I have dropped it.
Just Because!: Studio Pine Jam
Tumblr media
Dropped.  For no other reason that fuck it’s boring.  I fell asleep watching it not once, but twice.  It was that boring.  This series proves that even the prettiest of shows can bore you to death.
Omiai Aite wa Oshiego Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji:  Studio Seven
Tumblr media
Porn.  With Plot.  Alright, so this is an actual hentai series.  Not like Soft-Core either like Hajimete no Gal was last season.  This is an actual hentai series, and if you could believe it, it’s actually more plot focused and semi-interesting than 95% of hentai out there.. . . Well, as interesting as a hentai series about a female teacher and a student banging and “engaged” can be.  Don’t get me wrong here, it’s totally trash, but hey, each episode is only four minutes, so I’m going to keep watching this trash just a bit longer to see where it goes.
Sengoku Night Blood:  Typhoon Graphics
Tumblr media
Mmmm Still waiting for the day with they make a good anime based off of an Otome Game.  Alright, so here’s the story.  Girl gets sent back into another world and gains a harem.  A vampire harem.  That’s it.  I’ve saved you the trouble of checking this series out.  You’re welcome.
Urahara:  Studios Emt^2 and Shirogumi
Tumblr media
Dropped.  Instant Drop.  Jesus Christ that animation is fucking trash.  You have two studios working on this series, and the animation still looks that garbagey?!?!  How?!?!?!  I can’t even with this. . . Ugh, nope, moving on.
Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara:  Creators in Pack
Tumblr media
Yet another series that will probably be dropped halfway through.  Honestly, there’s just nothing that really happens in this series, and I know it’s really hard for anything to happen in a four minute long series, but literally nothing happens.   Wife comes home.  Husband makes her drink.  Wife gets tipsy.  Thank you husband.  I mean the main reason why I’m going to be sticking it out just a bit longer is to keep getting cocktail recipes haha.
Imouto Sae Ireba Ii:  Sliver Link Studios
Tumblr media
Will probably be dropped.  Is it just me or is this series like Silver Link’s answer to A-1′s EroManga Sensei?  Honestly, this show is meh at best so far.  The art is nothing too great, and the story screams EroManga, and since I wasn’t a fan, I really don’t see myself watching more than three episodes.
Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Sho-Bitch na Ken:  Studio Diomedea
Tumblr media
I started watching it with hopes of it doing two things.  One, fill the hole in my heart that was left when Hajimete no Gal ended; and two, explain what the hell a Sho-Bitch is.  In all honestly though, this show is probably going to be dropped.  While the art is generic, the characters are bland and too common; I also the comedy too forced at time and repeatable.  Yes, we understand main waifu really just wants to figure out what Haruka likes, and obviously misinterprets everything, but does that really have to be the joke every single time?
Inuyashiki:  Studio MAPPA
Tumblr media
Ah, the latest from Studio MAPPA.  I have one question:  MAPPA, what the fuck?  Let me clarify.  The opening few minutes of the first episode made me feel.  Fuck, I almost started crying.  It was depressing and yet the story was just relatable and beautiful all at the same time.  I was feeling feels I didn’t want to feel.  It really kept true to the Drama tag, which I love.  I’m a sucker for some hardcore drama filled series.  Then. . . .it got weird.  Some weird like mecha space alien thing weird.  So, again, MAPPA, what the fuck?  Don’t get me wrong here.  I will be continuing to watch this solely because despite the series taking that weird turn, in no way did that make the actual tone any less enjoyable.  Plus, the art style is so unique to the show, I’m curious as to where it can go from here.
Mahoutsukai no Yome:  Wit Studio
Tumblr media
Alright, I’m a fan.  This has to be a contender for Anime of the Season, and we aren’t even three episodes into it yet.  It’s wonderful, and not only one of my favorites from this season so far, but my favorite thing Wit Studio has ever done, (and yes, that just brought me a ton of hate from SnK fans haha).   I can see and agree with the hype this series has had.   Honestly, check it out.  It’s good  and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
Blend S:  A-1 Pictures
Tumblr media
I found my Moe-Blob for the season, and I’m so happy.  I actually really like this series so far.  It was adorable, and literally just what I want in my seasonal moe-blob.  It’s nothing too driven plot wise, and definitely won’t be anime of the season or anything like that; it’s literally just Cute Girls waitressing in this cute cafe.  Regardless, I’m definitely going to continue to watch it for a bit longer at least.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou:  Studio White Fox
Tumblr media
Keep your eye on this one this season.  It’s probably going to be the Dark Horse of this season.  In all honestly, I became instantly hooked watching the first episode.  The tone at the start was so eerie and grim that I found myself getting literal goosebumps.   Maybe it’s the high I’m on after the Made in Abyss ending, or just wanting to find something to fill the void that series has left me with, but I’m getting serious MiA vibes.  I’m hoping this series is even half as good as MiA was.  Also, I’m a major fan already of how unique the art is for this show.
Ousama Game The Animation:  Studio Seven
Tumblr media
I’m biased.  Period.  I will be watching this show no matter how terrible it could ever get solely because my favorite Seiyuu is the lead.  Mamoru is a God, and I will watch it religiously every week.  That being said, I can tell you that this show is edgy as fuck, and with it being one of two survival game anime out right now this season, this one is definitely the weaker, edgier of the two.  It is a pretty cool concept though, and I’m already a fan of the survival game concept, that I don’t mind watching this one until the end.  I would also like to warn that this one is definitely gory so if you don’t like that than this isn’t for you.
Konohana Kitan:  Studio Lerche
Tumblr media
CUTE LITTLE FOX GIRLS.  I REPEAT, CUTE LITTLE FOX GIRLS.  Having read the summary for the series prior, and seeing both the Seinen and Shoujo Ai tag on it and that it would be done by Lerche, it became an instant check out at least, and I’m glad I did.  This series is the calming pallet cleanser.  It’s the show where you can turn off your mind and just watch the cuteness.  Plus, did I mention cute little fox girls?  What more do you need?
Black Clover:  Studio Pierrot

Alright, I’m split in two for this.  Part of me wants me to look at this show for what it is:  a stereotypical shounen series, with decent animation, predictable plot and bad voice acting, if you saw the first episode you’d know what I’m talking about.   This show screams Naruto, Fairy Tail and Bleach rip off; and hell, since I hate Naruto, never got into Bleach, and am still VERY pissed at Fairy Tail, combining the three into one really just makes me both cringe and glare at the screen.   Evil Glare.  A glare that if I could, would totally shoot lasers out and everything.  I mean hell, it’s even done by the same studio as Naruto.  Regardless, the tons and tons of shounen I’ve seen makes me just feel like this is repeating it all.   That’s one part of me.  The other part of me enjoys this show, solely for the fact that my husband LOVES the Black Clover manga, so watching it with him makes me at least want to give it a chance.   I do however doubt it will be as big as people hype it up to be, and if it does get big it will be nowhere near as good quality wise as a lot of other shounens, and will take a lot for me to become a fan.
Juuni Taisen:  Graphinica

Without a doubt, my favorite from this season.  I’m hooked.  This series has it all:  unique character designs, well executed art, and a killer story line, (pun intended).  Mmmmm this story is wonderful.  It hooks you from the start, which is to be expected since the original source is written by the same original writer for the Monogatari Series.  There’s plot twists and betrayals and just epicness.  It also has one of the best openings and closings of the season.  Side Note:  THE PSYCHOTIC LITTLE USAGI BOY IS BEST BOY AND I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE, AND IF HE DOESN’T WIN I WILL RIOT.
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru:  Washio Sumi no Shou:  Studio Gokumi
Tumblr media
When I first saw that Yuki Yuno was getting another season, I was fucking thrilled.  Yuki Yuno was a magical girl series that I fell in love with not only because of the Madoka Magica vibes it had, but because of the beautiful art and animation and vibrant colors it used.  It’s visually stunning.  So, how is the prequel turning out?  Still just as stunning.  In all honestly, I’m going to love this series provided it stays true to the themes and tones of the first season, and if the opening episodes are anything to say about the rest of the series, then I know it will.  Plus, who isn’t up for Magical Girls this season?
Osomatsu-san 2nd Season:  Studio Pierrot
Tumblr media
I actually genuinely missed this show.  My gods this show is a gift.  This has to be one of the underapprieciated comedy gems to come out in the recent years, and it fills me with joy knowing that it still shines just like the first season did.  I enjoy watching the episodic skits of everyone’s favorite sextuplets.  Seriously, why have you not started this show?
Shokugeki no Soma:  J.C.Staff
Tumblr media
DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I’VE WAITED TO SEE MY SON KUGA ANIMATED?!!??!  TOO LONG.  This is hands down the best season of Food Wars yet, and we are barely a couple episodes into it.   I love the pacing of this season, and having being a manga reader, I can confirm for you that it’s completely accurate with the manga thus far.  J.C Staff is clearly showing that they still care about Food Wars and aren’t rushing with the season.  Also, thank the gods for the 24 episode season.  THAT’S MORE EPISODES OF MY PRECIOUS KUGA.
3-Gatsu no Lion 2nd Season:  Studio Shaft
Tumblr media
I cried.  I fucking cried.  Hard.  My god I missed this series.  Everything about the first episode was fantastic.  The music and animation were spot on, but of course nothing out of the ordinary for the phenomenal Studio Shaft, but what did I love most you ask?  Character Development.  MY FUCKING GOD.  Compare Rei to the start of Season one, and you’d never think it’s the same person.  I can’t stress that enough.  If this first episode is a sign on how amazing the rest of this season is going to be then I’m beyond fucking happy.  This is the series I’ve been waiting for since the start of the year.
Gintama.  Porori-hen:  Bandai Namco Pictures
Tumblr media
Has there ever been like a bad season of Gintama?   Like Ever?  All this season has proved to me is: one, life is boring and dull without Gintama.  Two, Gintama is the king of comedy series.  Three, Gintama is without a doubt one of the greatest series of all time.   This season is hilarious and easily makes me burst out laughing from start to finish.  Thank you Gintama, I’ve truly missed you.
Ballroom e Youkoso:  Production I.G.
Tumblr media
How is the second half of the season you ask?  *Insert Pouting Face Here*  Fuck you, Chi-chan.  Worst Girl 2017.  THERE I SAID IT.  YEAH, I SAID IT.  WHAT YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT?  #BRINGBACKBESTGIRL2017  Like, don’t get me wrong, I’m glad Tartara has a partner now, but like seriously why her? -.-  Why couldn’t Mako just be his partner forever and they could live happily ever after?
So, yeah, those are my thoughts so far on the Fall Anime 2017 season.   Let me know yours, and if there is anything I’m not watching, and should be, then please tell me!  I love recommendations, and I already know of a few that I need to pick up. . . .

Lonely Hour {OC One shot}
OCs featured: (Henry x Nexus)
Editor's note: I usually don't write as much, I honestly prefer comics. I wrote this weeks ago and I kinda want feedback. Please enjoy... maybe I'll post the rest later (it got cut off).
________________
The amount of body's grinding against each other in such close proximity made Henry claustrophobic, viewing how so many people were from their school.
All their movements were jagged, loose, and awkward, some people putting in actual effort to dance while the others shimmied the songs. The lights were dimmed with some strobe neons swiping the walls, and there was one main speaker blaring popular hits from the decade.
The volume was astronomical, and quite surprisingly, no one called the authorities to shut down the party.
Hanging by the wall, Henry and his close friend, Shade, stayed near each other in hopes to not get lost in the crowd.
It was difficult to hear anyone, not even themselves, talk or even shout.
The vibrations of the sounds resulted in Henry to become nauseous.
Shade held their red cup tight, watching their purple haired friend crumple to the ground in boredom.
Guilt struck them, as they realized that Henry wasn't the type to enjoy massive crowds like this; or really any sort of crowd. He had spaced out when Shade kneels in front of him, mouthing something like,
"Do you wanna go someplace quiet?"
Though he couldn't hear them, Henry nodded, only to rise from the floor and follow them out of there.
Apparently, many of the kids at school were invited to this spring break party by a small group who rented a large enough airbnb for the majority of the people who came. There was a pool, and the lot had enough space for the party to carry on outside. Of course, there were a few college students, just in case the cops raided, so that they could pull it off as being a frat house party (which would most definitely backfire anyways).
Upon entering outside, the warm, humid evening air hit their faces. It was ten-ish, and most of people's curfews were way past that time… but it's not like they cared.
Henry and Shade take a load off from being inside, and take a seat wherever there was a space available. Most of the outdoor seating was taken up by some participants, who were smoking and hanging out. So, the duo sat on the first few steps of the patio, watching everyone have a good time.
A different song played, with a mixture of ambience from the partiers in the pool, and crickets. The smell of weed hits Henry's nostrils as they sit in silence…
Shade takes a dab from their vape pen, exhaling it out momentarily.
"Do you think Fikod's having a good time?" Henry murmurs, loud enough for Shade to hear. Fikod and Shade were siblings and usually they were both always next to each other, due to them being fraternal twins.
"I bet my ass he is," They snort, some leftover vapor excretes from their mouth, "He's probably getting stoned right now."
Henry chuckles with Shade, imagining his friend getting high with a group of other stoners.
Despite what everyone else was doing, Henry didn't want to get involved with it. If anything, he'd probably have one or two beers and that would be enough for him to get mildly tipsy…
This made Henry feel kind of left out, even though he's making the best decision, and it caused him to feel bad for holding Shade back from their fun.
He couldn't handle the amplified music, the large crowd, the drugs- nothing.
He began to wonder why he was even invited or brought along by them- knowing that he didn't like partying.
A part of him wanted to get out of the house, away from Zhila, his aunt. He would've done something else entirely if he didn't want to attend this party.
"Shade," Henry turns to his bright ginger-haired friend, "do you wanna go out there?"
With a swing of their head, they stare at Henry with widened eyes, "What? Me?"
Shade processes what he said, before answering solemnly, "Well, I do. I wanna try to hook up and smoke."
Then, they pause, tapping their pen against their knee… "But I don't wanna leave you sitting here."
Henry scoffs, rolling his grey eyes, "Don't worry about me so much?"
I don't wanna be alone.
"You're just saying that, man," Shade scoffs back at him, more playfully.
"I'm being serious," Henry perks up, meeting them at eye level…
"I don't mind."
God damn, I just wanna leave this place.
Shade's eyes avert away from Henry's for a second, thinking. A reluctant smile grows on their lips, their freckles creasing as they do…
"Alright then," they utter, boosting themselves from the step. As they turn to go back into the home, Shade says very sternly, "If you need anything, please come find me. Okay?"
Henry raises his phone, as if to gesture to them that he'll call if he needs help.
Plodding up the patio steps, Shade's feminine figure eventually squeezes by a group of people by the entryway of the home, disappearing from Henry's sight.
For the next few minutes, he sat on the stairs, in his own thoughts… watching everyone else have fun.
The siren girls splash each other and pool other people into the water as a joke. A few groups of guys are recording and vlogging their experiences. A small mixture of girls and boys are doing a choreographed dance for tiktok…
Gross.
Henry fiddles with his phone, pretending that he was messaging someone on his phone, while in reality, he was scrolling through his social media.
Various posts and snaps of people from the party, posing with their friends, videos of them doing shots and other crazy shit.
The soft tapping of Henry's shoe was increasing in speed as he scrolled deeper into his feed.
Just threads and threads of everyone posting their point of view and having fun.
He saw a few people he knew, like Rain… who was only there for the aesthetic and the weed (most people were anyways).
Brit and his current girlfriend, Briana, both had taken "couple" selfies… like everyone else.
And Nexus, who was posed in a very dominating stand, carefully taken by one of his posse, as if it were a photoshoot.
Envy courses through Henry, and it made it feel like he could easily break his phone with a single clench of his fist.
Henry knew he could just walk home from the party and call his own driver, but… something was holding back.
This is a heinous night, he thought to himself glumly.
Around this point, it was eleven, and it seemed as if the party was just going through its second wave. Eventually, Henry got up and headed back into the airbnb, nearly bumping into a few people.
"Fuck you too, jackass!" Someone shouted to him, as he ambled through the thick patch of bodies.
Unsure why he even went back inside, Henry aimlessly strolled through the crowd, seeing how gross everyone's dancing was… it was a lot worse than homecoming dances, and those are cringey.
Someone's hoof stepped on his foot, causing him to stumble over himself in pain. Limping through the rest of the way, Henry made his way to where the kitchen would be, and from there it stunk of various aromas.
The kitchen wasn't crowded, but there were still people hovering around with drinks and chatting. Just annoying people in the way. He told himself that he wouldn't drink this time, though he found his hand digging through the melted cooler for a beer.
It was room temperature beer, but it didn't matter, he needed something to distract and loosen him up for a bit.
Straight from the can, Henry takes a lousy swig, seeing how no one was there to drink beside him. It tasted like crap, but he's tasted worse.
For the next half hour, Henry lingered in the kitchen, when he finished off two cans so far… fortunately, he ate something before he downed those two beers; unfortunately, it was almost three hours ago.
Yet, his stomach clenched and his throat was parched, and the dizziness set in.
Resting his eyes, Henry leaned against the sink of the kitchen, preparing for the worst of the storm. I don't like to think I'm a lightweight, but this fucking sucks… it's only two cans.
Trying to soothe himself, he grips him thumb in hopes to reduce the urge of wanting to vomit anytime soon. The music thumping sent the same vibrations to his head, worsening the effects.
He heard a familiar voice enter the kitchen, though it was drowned out by the party's ambience. Clenching his eyes, Henry's brain ran laps around his skull, not able to sit still.
"I'm telling you, it's just not fair," says a harsh voice, "I can't even spend time with him because he's with his 'girl'. I'm his best friend, damnit!"
That voice.
Henry squinted his eyes, blurry figures were mobile blobs to him until he blinked a few times to refocus his vision. He saw similar ginger hair, and thought that it was Shade. Without any hesitation, Henry lumbers over and wraps his arms around the figure, words that manage to crumple from his mouth,
"Shade~ you were gone for such a long time!" Henry whines, having a good hold of the figure..
"Henry, get the hell off me!" A male voice barks out in confusion.
Tripping backwards, Henry's eyes refocus,  fully recognizing the voice. Upon a clearer picture, he mistakes Nexus for Shade.
The orange cat held his ground and glared at him with a contorted stare… his other acquaintance hung beside him.
"Oh God-" Henry gapes, attempting to blubber out, "Nexus, I'm so sorry, I thought you were Shade."
Instead Nexus grimaces, as if disgusted, only to murmur, "Whatever, dude. Just watch where you're going."
Henry lowers his gaze, his face hot with embarrassment… or from the intoxication.
Nexus' ear twitches, "Are you drunk or something?" His vibrant lime green eyes peer into Henry's soul.
It took Henry a second to properly respond, his mouth visibly stammering, but that gave Nexus his answer already.
"Hey, Nex, I gotta go…" The other kid next to Nexus frowns, gesturing over his shoulder, sending Nexus into a mild frenzy.
"Bro, really?" Nexus grumbles, angry.
The other guy hurries out, leaving just Henry and Nexus hanging about.
With an aggressive flick of his tail, Nexus sighs… going on to leave the room kitchen.
"W-Wait, Nex," Henry slurs, resulting in Nexus to whip around with an annoyed expression.
"What?" He hisses.
He's so hostile…
"Can I hang with you? Just-Just for a little while…?" Henry pleads, barely able to stand up straight, as he leaned against the counter. Nexus peers at him with a disdained glare, studying him up and down...
"You're not gonna throw up, are you?" Nexus muses, unrelated to Henry's question.
"I dunno," Henry chortled, shrugging.
Idling in the archway, Nexus finally contemplated his thoughts before turning to his drunken companion.
"Okay, you can chill with me," Nexus exhales, approaching him, "but don't do anything weird again."
This takes Henry back for a moment, as if he was jabbed with a pencil. Just as Henry was about to say something, Nexus waltzes back into the party area…
With an uneasy step, Henry follows after him into the crowd.
For however long they were on the dancing grounds, Nexus bopped with a few people he knew while Henry tried his best to fit in… though the pound of the music made him more queasy. His coordination when it came to dancing was awkward and trying at times, while Nexus and his other companions were "moving".
Dancing at this point was just simply jumping and swaying, but even Henry wasn't able to do it due to how the room was beginning to spin.
Everything was so loud.
His own thoughts were drowned by the blasting Post Malone song…
it made his head hurt, and his mouth began to gather up saliva.
The nausea had set in finally.
Henry started to sweat as he realized what was about to occur, but instead of drawing attention to himself, he bit his thumb in order to stop himself from potentially vomiting…
Nexus hadn't noticed Henry's ill expression, as he was trying to keep his mind in a different place. It was when the female he was dancing with taps him and inaudibly gestures to Henry, who had gained a headstart out of the crowd and exiting the room.
Irritation drenches Nexus' face, as he dismisses it, glancing over to see Henry's figure disappearing from sight.
I have my own problems to deal with right now, Nexus scowls internally.
That's when it hit Nexus, like a wet sock.
He probably made Henry feel uncomfortable, and this caused him to leave. For a while, Nexus swayed on the thought of it…
He's a big boy, he shouldn't have his feelings hurt.
The tense presence of guilt hovers over Nexus, despite trying to brush it off, but once the current song was over, he had swam through the heavy crowd of sweaty bodies.
Entering a corridor that connected to the living space, there were hazy clouds of various odors and smells, while couples made out on the side of the hallway.
Nexus knew where the nearest bathroom was, seeing there was a short line… not seeing Henry anywhere, Nexus just cuts to the front and pounds on the door with his hand.
"Henry, are you in there?" Nexus calls through the door, hearing muffled coughing from within.
The people waiting give Nexus dirty looks, as Nexus continues pounding, getting antsy himself.
"Dude, please come out. A-Are you throwing up?" Nexus ignores the glares and just rests his ear on the door.
"Someone's been in there for almost like ten minutes already…" said one of the people who waited in line.
With a nervous flick of his tail, Nexus grips the door knob to see if it were locked; it rotated fully. Holding his breath, Nexus pokes his head into the dimly lit bathroom and sees Henry sitting by the toilet, his head hung low.
"Ah shit," Nexus spats, hurrying over to the slumped figure of his friend. Is he that drunk? Nexus goes to check on him
"Henry!" He places a palm on his shoulder, resulting in Henry's muscles and body to contort in response, as he sat up in a frenzy.
Immediately, Nexus goes to settle down his dazed friend, seeing the genuine panic in his grey eyes; his face is red and puffy as if he were crying.
"Fuck, man," Henry groans, squeezing his temples, only for Nexus to stand up beside him and offer to help him to his feet.
Well, it didn't smell like vomit, Nexus though in relief, but he must've left just in case he did.
Slumping over Nexus' shoulder, Henry staggers on to his feet, leaving his supporting weight directly on Nexus; causing it to be rather difficult to even carry him.
With a hard grunt, Nexus manages to remain standing and soon help his drunk companion out of the bathroom. Not even bothering to look at the people waiting, they both head off to someplace a lot more quiet.
The side of the house where some of the bedrooms remained occupied for "various" reasons, but there was an area for the den…
People were going in and out, though for the most part, no one was there.
Nexus let Henry go, allowing him to plop onto the sofa, where he stayed silent.
Going to sit next to him, Nexus spreads out, a few feet from where Henry rested.
A heavy sigh slips from Nexus' nose, allowing himself to sink into the softness of the sofa.
There wasn't that much of an odor, other than cotton candy from a vape, but it was one of the calmest places of the airbnb.
Maybe they weren't allowed in here, but oh well, there wasn't a sign.
The house still shook from the music being played obnoxiously loud, only there being a certain amount of time until someone filed a noise complaint.
Peering over, Nexus notices Henry's face in a serene state… still clenching his thumb as if his life depended on it.
Filling the silence, Nexus starts by saying,
"How much did you drink tonight?"
There was a delayed reply, when Henry lets out a bleak mumble, "One… tw-two? Probably."
Nexus examines him, seeing how Henry could pull off being sober, but now noticing how lifted off he was, it didn't seem possible.
"Do you always get drunk?" Nexus was making conversation, not sure how he was going to respond.
Henry bobs his head side to side, rubbing the side of his face.
"I don't like drinking…" He stifles slowly, his tongue twists over itself, "but I was feeling pretty…"
He doesn't finish his sentence as if he stopped himself…
Nexus starts anticipating,
"Feeling pretty what?"
Resting his head back, he gestures dismissively, "Forget- forget what I said… don't listen to me."
There was a forced chuckle from him, as he placed his palms over his face…
Nexus was invested, seeing how strange he was acting.
Henry's thoughts weren't his own, it felt like they could say something completely different. His thoughts were doing relay races, passing each of his emotions around like a baton…
"I dunno where my friends are," Henry whimpers aloud, spilling out nonsense, "I wish I didn't come here."
Nexus' ears twitch with intrigue, only for him to voice genuine concern,
"You didn't come alone?" Nexus questions, hoping he would comprehend what he said.
"I didn't wanna say no," He pouts.
He's really off the rails, Nexus grimaces, I should help him calm down.
Nexus remembered the two people Henry hung around with constantly, Shade and Fikod… from what he gathered, they brought him along against his will?
Or so Nexus thought, at least.
He's barely able to say complete sentences, Nexus thought, or hold a conversation. I don't think I'll get anything out of him.
"Do you wanna go home?" Nexus asks simply, waiting for a response.
Instead of a straight answer, there were sniffles.
Never in all the years Nexus had known him, he'd never seen Henry so distraught… or really cry.
"Why do I feel so lonely here?" Henry croaks out through sniffles, taking his hands off his eyes.
This struck a nerve in Nexus.
No, he thought, you aren't alone. You're surrounded by so many people… how can you be alone?
Without thinking, Nexus tugs on Henry's hoodie to bring him down to earth.
"Are you hearing yourself?" He spoke sternly, almost snatching Henry's attention.
"What's going on in that head of yours, bud?" Nexus stares him dead in his eyes…
Henry's head sways, as his eyes met Nexus'.
"I told youu," Henry whines, "not to worry about it…"
"You're so annoying!" Nexus lashes out, nearly yanking on his hoodie strings. "What the hell is going on with you? I get that you're drunk, but you keep saying these things and it's fucking annoying. What are these subliminal messages? Are you trying to get under my skin? Make me feel bad, is that it?"
Having shaken him up, Henry's eyes were opened enough to see his pupils dilating, as Nexus fumes with agitation, his nose flares, and his brows furrowed in the dark.
The bitter words Nexus spat was the product of pent up frustration from throughout the evening…
Brit had ditched Nexus to be with his girlfriend for the whole time, almost involving him as the third wheel. Seeing how much time Brit spends with her, Nexus felt casted aside, nearly a second thought as he was gradually losing his best friend over a girl.
Maybe it wasn't justified, or quite possibly childish for Nexus to have a fit, but he was just so angry over the treatment…
Brit and him had been through thick and thin for the longest time, but now it was tainted by Briana- "the love of my life" according to Brit.
Releasing his frustration on Henry was a mistake, seeing how it definitely shook him to his core. Nexus' chest had puffed up from the outburst, still having a tight grip around Henry's hood strings.
"N-Nexus, I…"
"Shut up."
The hold of his hoodie strings loosened, Nexus' hand sank to his lap… as if he was overwhelmed by defeat.
The ginger cat's tail curls up, and his ears lower, leaving his expression solemn.
The way his own words left a sour taste in Nexus' mouth causes him to show regret.
There was silence that hovered over them, intensifying into something far more tense.
They had broken eye contact after the burst, but somehow faced each other… Nexus rested his eyes, closing them or a moment.
Why did I say that? Since when did I become so harsh, Nexus scolds himself.
I'm just so done with everything that's happened tonight, I just want this to be over and done with now.
Even through the vibrant bass of the music that played, Nexus sensed an increased heartbeat… jumping up in anxiety.
Why is Henry so antsy all of a sudden? Nexus opens his eyes.
Henry had begun to pull in close towards his face, abruptly sending Nexus into surprise, only for his face to land on the crook of Nexus' shoulder; making it seem like he chickened out from something.
"What was that about?" Nexus croaks out, feeling sudden heat down his body. Henry shook his head, burying his face deeper into the side of Nexus' neck.
"I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it…" Henry murmurs under his breath, which Nexus clearly heard.
Instead of acknowledging it, Nexus just sat there with Henry slumped into his shoulder, with many thoughts facing through his brain.
Conflicted emotions, similar to the way he felt about Brit…
He weirdly enjoyed Henry's comfort, Nexus had a feeling that there was something more. A pair of Henry's arms had made its way around Nexus' waist, alerting chills up his spine.
What is this feeling? Nexus muses, the heat progresses to his face.
"First, you were crying," Nexus comments, "now you're being clingy?"
The way Henry's breathing brought up the feeling again made Nexus wanna squirm, yet continue along with this...
