I'm watching Impel Down/Marineford for the first time (I know what happens but seeing the How is. painful. ouchie.) but I'm really loving how competent?? Croc is?? between reminding the escapees that 'we have cannons too' and calling them idiots for not knowing how to handle a tsunami and squaring up with a variety of heavy hitters. IDK it's just nice.
It is delightful! Especially considdering Crocodile had been living a life of luxury for well over a decade in Alabasta (not having to lift a finger to do anything and probably not going out to the sea much if at all) followed by spending an undisclosed amount of time in prison; like the man hasn't been participating in The Yar-Har Pirate Life in a long time, and yet he's such a veteran that all comes back out seemingly naturally. It's really impressive
But it just goes to show how independent Crocodile is (when he wants to), which makes sense. If the man doesn't trust others then it's very likely he's spent time alone even on the seas and could take of himself and whatever funny little boat he might've had. Like yes, having people who can do shit so he doesn't have to is nice and convenient (especially since there are things that would be a pain in the ass to do with just one hand, like the hook only helps so much), but like. Push comes to shove, he can handle it by himself.
Which would make him kind of a cute opposite to Luffy who 100% would not survive without friends around

it’s about a little shit sirius who’s deliberately trying to seduce this saint of a man who refuses to look at him twice (spoiler: it’s not because james doesn’t want, it’s because he thinks it’s unethical. sirius is here to put all those worries to rest). just. a lot of back and forth, pushing and pulling, and getting together moments.

So I figured I'd attempt to make a soup with the Pumpkins I had! I admit this took me ages to do and I ended up messing about with the air fryer and the oven and then boiling in a pan then blending (and the blender is small so had to individually blend in parts) - so don't do what I did, just shove it all in the oven then boil in a pan and blend. What I would've changed about making this is the coconut milk but I didn't have any normal cream and wanted a creamy vibe
𝙄𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨
• 1 small pumpkin peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes (4 cups)
• 1 Sweet Potato
• 3 Baby Potatoes
• 1 large carrot, peeled and cut in thin slices
• 1 quarter of Swede, peeled and sliced
• Half a leek
• 1 onion, halved
• ¼ cup cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil
• 2 Knorr Vegetable Stock Pots with added boiled water
• Half can Coconut Milk
• Caramelised Apple Pork Belly
• 1 tsp flaked sea salt, or to taste
• ½ teaspoon ground allspice
• 1 pinch ground white pepper
• 1 tsp ground cumin
• 1 tsp ground coriander
𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Chop up/peel the sweet potato, Pumpkin, Carrots, Leek, Onions and Swede into small chunks and place on a baking pan. Brush with olive oil; sprinkle with salt, allspice, and pepper.
Step 2
Bake in the preheated oven until soft, about 45 minutes.
Step 3
I'd bought a pre-prepared slow cooked Sweet Caramelised Apple Pork Belly which I'd cooked as per the packaging instructions which was 45 minutes.
Step 4
When the vegetables are all cooked thoroughly, transfer to a large saucepan - add your seasoning (cumin, coriander, ginger, salt, and pepper)
Step 5
Stir in chicken stock and coconut milk. Bring soup to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until fragrant, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool.
Step 6
Puree soup using a blender until smooth - unless you wanted it more chunky
Step 7
With the belly Pork I think it goes nicely chopped up chunky and mixed in (not blended)
Step 8
I decided to carve a second Pumpkin to make into a bowl (which made the whole thing more finicky) but I poured the soup into that and had it with grated cheese and Ciabatta!

Idk if I'm living in an alternate universe or what but I swear the refrain of "buying processed foods is more expensive for less work but buying ingredients is cheaper for a whole lot more food" has literally never been true. Like idk what the deal is at your guys' grocery stores but buying ingredients has always been pretty much the same price as buying pre-made foods, even before the massive price hikes and inflation in the past few years. When I make homecooked meals, the price at the register for all my ingredients is always like $20-30 (sometimes more depending on if I'm buying stuff like a filet or expensive fish but those are special occasions so they don't rly count). Buying an equivalent amount of premade food would cost roughly the same.
Like maybe it is true if you're specifically calculating the cheapest ingredients for the most nutritional value and total volume, but just cooking normal recipes like soup and beef stroganoff and tacos and fried rice for me, the price is by no means low. I'm lucky in that I don't have to worry about how much my food costs but if I did I don't think cooking at home would really save me any money unless all I ate was like, beans and pasta.

honestly haellen is probably the one who gets the most stressed out of the two. nero's way too confident to be stressed out by his own stuff, but gets stressed out by haellen and her worries. so helping her de-stress is essentially his form of de-stressing (least if you ask me. nero seems like the type who's impossible to stress out by work or social life but gets stressed out by the stress of the people he cares about)
just simple stuff like a nice comfort meal dinner. Relaxing in bed with a book, going out and spending time together. Anything like that helps take her mind off of what ever was stressing her, especially if tea is involved
Ophelia is too broken to be stressed out by anything Ophelia doesn't really get stressed anymore. so its the same kinda deal there with helping ysayle to calm down and feel comfortable if she gets stressed out, often times ophelia will sing to her while cooking up a nice little comfort meal or while baking snacks. Since ysayle finds ophelia's singing voice very calming. singing in general while doing something is ophelia's go to solution for helping de-stress ysayle
