"The cherubic Seb" standing up for Lewis in (another) press conference
You know how, back in 2018, Sebastian Vettel infamously 'defended' Lewis Hamilton during a press conference? How a reporter asked Lewis about calling Verstappen a 'dickhead', and Seb intercepted and answered the question [video here] saying such a question wasn't fair, etc.?
I just came across an article that describes another instance of Seb standing up for Lewis during a press conference, this time back in 2015.
For backstory: Lewis won the 2015 Monza GP, and Seb came in 2nd. However, right after the race, Lewis was investigated due to questions about his tire pressure: if he was disqualified, Seb would've been promoted to 1st place. But Seb didn't want that. And he didn't want journalists jumping on Lewis, either.
An excerpt from the article:
In the top 3 drivers’ press conference that immediately followed the podium the matter of the victor Hamilton and his tyre pressures had only just come to light, to the point that when James Allen told Lewis about this at the start of the conference he in fact was breaking the news to him. And as one of the journalist present sought (for some reason) to press Lewis on the matter Seb came to his opponent’s defence, gently reprimanding the journo. “I think it’s not fair to hand that question to Lewis because he doesn’t know what’s going on, so that’s that” he said.
He even sought to defend Lewis on the subject of whether he’d have got a performance advantage from the lower pressures: “In principle, the tyres last a bit longer, but as I said, I don’t think [there’d be much benefit].”
All of a sudden the realisation hit that in a room full of grizzled and (in some cases) getting-on-a-bit hacks the cherubic Seb was by far the most adult and dignified person in the place.
He indicated further that even as a Ferrari driver at Monza he would not be happy to win this one by default: “In a lot of respect and fairness he [Hamilton] did a very good job today and you have to accept that.
“[The prospect of being given the win] doesn’t change anything, emotions. I was second on the podium and that’s the emotions I got and I’m grateful for them. I had a great car today, not good enough to win but good enough to just finish second.”
(Ultimately, the investigation was dropped, and Lewis kept the win).
I can't get over, especially, how in both instances - in 2015 and 2018 - he used the exact same phrase: "I think it's not fair".
He speaks up when he thinks things aren't fair. I think that's a big truth behind why he has become what he is now: someone speaking up for us.
Anyway, I just have extreme emotions about Lewis and Seb and their constant reciprocal care and respect for one another, and their mutual dedication to fairness, to justice.

✦ 15. 4. 24 ✦ 📓 ✦ Monday ✦ Day 13/60 ✦
I stayed after school for a physics lab workshop (kinda?) about solar panels and we got to experiment a bit, I liked it a lot. At home I decided to write my history homework on paper for once, which is ironic, because I still have to type it on the computer, so it turned out to be double the work. But at least my notes look pretty :)
✓ school - history homework

Your art style is like.
Very rounded/you don’t have a lot of flat shapes, and also you use a lot of stripes and spots everywhere, but I think most people do so I don’t know if that counts.
Mostly the first part. Like round but not necessarily soft, though people often put them together I don’t think you usually do. Honestly most of you art looks like I’d reach out and feel leather or scales.
Sorry if this makes no sense but I saw the post about describing art styles and drawing without them and figured I’d give describing it a y ry
Here it is! Hailstorm and Pyrite for the evil style challenge. The total opposite of round and sharp! It's spiky and soft!
Also since you made your piece with lineart I decided to draw mine completely lineless.
I thought that maybe doing with a soft shading would minimize the defined textures of scales on dragons? It kind of worked? Also instead of stripes and dots I gave them triangles

Today's reminder: Be off-putting. Not so off-putting that people won't talk to you, but enough so that if they see you on the news in 2-5 years, wanted for manslaughter, arson, or serial trespassing and leaving cryptically threatening notes in supposedly inaccessible areas of corporate buildings, they'll say, "hey, I know that guy! Yeah, you could tell something was up. I'm not surprised."

Anybody else like the idea of being a sizeshifter because it gives you more control over yourself or a situation?
Like, I love being small and held and comforted as much as the next guy, but there's a number of reasons you'd eventually want to say "Okay, I need to be normal-size again." It could be for a smaller reason, like if your big friend/partner is smothering you a little too much and you need a break, or you just need to go do something else that requires you to be able to reach things and get around easier.
Or it could be for a much more serious reason, like if someone big isn't paying attention and you need them to notice you fast before they accidentally hurt you. Or maybe the big isn't a good person, and definitely does NOT have good intentions with you, but you're able to shift back to normal, or even giant size to fight back or get out of there.
I don't know, there's just something about that sense of control that comes from voluntary sizeshifting that I find comforting. I want to be tiny, just... not all the time. Especially not if things get dangerous.
