Blue Meets Pink
.
Sonic couldn't stop that anxious feeling whenever Tom drove off. His life has been too perfect, living the dream. He had to admit that he was scared that one day Tom will never come back and that all the good moments he spent with Tom and Maddie were a dream.
"But he always comes back ... he always does."
Sonic reassured himself as entered his school. The community of Green Hill had accepted him and kept his existence a secret, which he appreciated deeply. Just like in town, he was pretty popular in school as well. He wasn't the smartest one around, it was a bit hard for him to stay in one place and pay attention. He usually needed Maddie's help to finish his homework, Tom tried to help him as well sometimes but he usually gave up midway ... junior high's homework can be tricky. Or at least that's what Tom said.
However, Sonic was pretty good at sports. He was on every sports team at school. Football, soccer, track, tennis, volleyball, but of course he had to restrain himself from using his super speed. It was fine by Sonic, what matters to him was that he wasn't playing alone like he used to before.
Of course, Tom and Maddie will never miss a game. They were supportive of him and celebrated all of his wins and losses.
It was also fun to dress him as a normal boy before a game. Long pants, long sleeve t-shirts, a cap, and a facemask was all it took to convince the other school that Sonic was just a normal 12 years old.
Sonic stepped inside the building as everyone greeted him with a smile. Teachers, custodians, staff, and students.
It was a sunny day in Green Hills, Sonic had a chili dog packed on his Flash backpack and he was excited to see his friends.
Today was going to be a good day.
.
Sonic was wrong. Tom was always punctual when he picked him up but today ... he didn't show up. He waited for him for 30 minutes in the rain. What started as a good day, turned out to be horrible.
"Do they don't want me anymore? Maybe they just need a break from me ... I can be pretty annoying after all ..."
Sonic decided to walk home. Yes, he could run there but he decided to walk so he can think. He hated to be wet, overall, he hated water but for now, he will stand it.
Sonic walked through Green Hill's downtown. Coffee shops, pizzerias, small clothing shops, and small libraries were the main attraction. He passed over a dark alley, he would have kept walking if it wasn't because he heard crying coming from around the trashcans.
He was very curious at heart. Sonic also loved to help those in need, especially the townspeople who have been kind to him. He walked over the alley and walked behind the trashcans where the crying was more intense.
It was still raining but he knew for sure that he had found a pink furball.
A crying pink furball.
"What the-"
"Aaah!"
"Aaah!"
Sonic looked at the pink one up and down. She was small and pink, or so he thought. She was dirty and couldn't tell if it was pink or brown or both. She was wearing a brown dress. It looked more like a rag than anything else. The pink thing was wearing some type of sandals that looked like they could break at any moment. She was covered in mud, and if Sonic didn't know better he could tell that she was hurt as well. She has scratches on her knees and arms and a little bit of blood came out of the cuts. Unlike him, her quills were pink and down, very short and feminine, she had bangs as well. Her quills were messy and had leaves and small tree branches on all of her quills.
She had green eyes just like him.
"So, is this what Tom felt the first time he saw me?"
The pink creature in front of him had his full attention. It was obvious that they looked similar.
"What are you?," Sonic asked. He looked at her up and down.
"I am ... I am a hedgehog!" The pink one stutter. She was starting to get scared and intimidated by blue one in front of him. She walked back until she hit the alley's wall.
"I am a hedgehog too! What's your name?" Sonic asked excitedly.
The pink creature saw how the blue one expression changed. Before he was startled, now he was ... excited? It was as he had never seen another hedgehog before. She had to admit that it was a bit adorable.
"Amy," She whispered. "My name is Amy."
"Amy what?" Sonic asked.
Amy looked at him curiously, and she proceeded to ask. "What do you mean what?"
"Yes ... Amy what? What is your last name?"
"Last name?" Amy asked again.
"Yes, my name is Sonic and my last name is Wachowski," Sonic said. "I am Sonic Wachowski the Hedgehog."
"Oh ... I am just Amy," she said. "I don't have a last name."
It kept raining. Sonic looked at Amy. She looked lost and afraid. It somehow reminded him of his past self. Sonic wanted to help her at any cost.
Sonic walked closer to Amy and she flinched at his act. Sonic stopped moving and instead, he smiled at her.
"Are you hungry?"
.
Sonic had taken Amy to 'Mama's Pizzeria' the most famous place in town. Although he felt bad for taking it, Tom or Maddie always made sure to leave money on Sonic's backpack. Today, he was happy to find that they both had left him money. He could buy a really nice meal for Amy.
"Eat whatever you want! I'll pay!" Sonic said as they both sat on a booth. He noticed that Amy was at awe. She was fascinated by everything, well she was literally in another world. Sonic remembered to be like her the first time he arrived. He was young and got used to it quickly but for Amy, it must be interesting and scary at the same time.
"Oh, what is that?!" Amy asked and Sonic looked at what she was pointing.
"That's a lamp,"
"Oh, what is that?"
"That's a baby,"
"Oh, what is that?"
"That's a pizza,"
"Can I take your order?"
Sonic and Amy were interrupted as a human girl approached them. Her name was Maria, a blond blue-eyed girl. Maria worked for the pizzeria as a waitress to help out her grandfather. She was very lively and liked by everyone in the town. She smiled at them and Sonic felt relieved that she didn't say anything about Amy's appearance.
"We would like a large pepperoni pizza and two drinks please," Sonic said.
Maria wrote the order down on her notepad and she then focused on her attention to Sonic's new friend.
"Oh, it seems like you brought a date with you today," Maria said, she bent down to take a better look at Amy. "I am sorry, but you are covered in mud. Wouldn't you like to take a shower meanwhile Sonic waits for your food?"
Amy instantly looked at Sonic. Although she didn't know the hedgehog any better, the small amount of time and kindness he had shown her was enough for Amy to trust the blue one. As well that he seemed to know better of this world and was one of her own.
"You should go, Maria's house is above this place. I will wait for you here." Sonic reassured her and in that, Amy looked over at Maria and nodded accepting her offer.
Sonic watched how Amy followed Maria, a bit scared but he knew that she will get used to her soon enough.
There were many questions he wanted to ask her but that could wait until they have eaten.
.
The food has arrived already but Amy nor Maria haven't shown up yet. Sonic wanted to wait for her so they could eat together but his hunger got the best of him and using his speed, he ate a slice. He looked over the restaurant as he chews on the pizza. The restaurant had fairy lights and Italian music was playing on the background. The booth he was sitting on had a square table. On top of it, a pink rose on a crystal vase decorated the wooden table.
A few seconds after that, Maria showed up with a very cute hedgehog. Wait-
A shower can make a big difference. Amy's pink fur shined as well as her quills who looked soft to the touch. She was wearing a red and white dress with matching boots and a red hairband decorated her head.
"Wow, Amy," Sonic said as he quickly cleaned his mouth, wiping away the evidence of his previous act.
"Maria gave me this dress," Amy said as she sat down again on the booth. She moved to the side to give Maria space to sit next to her. Maria was a nice girl and she had gained Amy's trust immediately.
"I used to wear this dress when I was younger, it doesn't longer fit me so I gave it to Amy," Maria said as she accepted Amy's gesture and sat next to her. "Doesn't she look pretty, Sonic?"
"She looks um ... clean!" Sonic blurted out. He didn't know how to respond, it would be very uncool of him to say that she looked pretty. No, yeah that's not happening.
Sonic's thoughts were interrupted as he noticed Amy eating the pizza. She finished slice by slice, and Sonic thought that maybe he will have to buy another pizza.
Amy noticed the eyes on her and she felt embarrassed. She hasn't eaten anything since yesterday and she didn't know where to get food. She took a sip of her water and she gave a Sonic and Maria smile.
The two let out a small laugh and after seeing that Amy was more comfortable, Sonic proceeded to make questions.
"So Amy, where are you from?" Sonic asked.
"I am from Mobius, a planet far away from this one," Amy responded.
"And how did you get here?"
Amy looked outside the window. She didn't know if she could trust them with such information. However, noticing that they were so kind to her without knowing her, then maybe telling them about her situation could benefit her.
"I came following my friend, Tails, but I lost track of him along the way." Amy said, "Our world is in danger, a creature called Chaos has devastated our world and we came looking for a hedgehog who could save it."
"A hedgehog? Me?" Sonic asked excitedly but Amy moved her head from side to side, denying it.
"Tails was very specific ... His record shows that 50 years ago a hedgehog from our world came to this planet." Amy added, "That hedgehog was the Ultimate Life Form, he had great powers and he used them to protect Mobius ... but one day, he disappeared. After extended research, we found that this hedgehog ended up on planet Earth and that he was capture by a military organization called G.U.N. Now we are looking for him, hoping that he can help up save our world."
Amy looked over at Sonic, "It would have been great if that hedgehog was you Sonic but the one we are looking for is a black and red hedgehog."
"Wait you said G.U.N., right?" Maria interrupted as she snapped her fingers in realization. She looked over at Amy who nodded. "My grandfather used to work for them during his younger years! He even still has some of the past documents of his missions. We can look over those documents and even ask him if he knows anything on the matter and-"
"SONIC WACHOWSKI THE HEDGEHOG WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!"
The two hedgehogs and human turned to see that Tom had entered the restaurant, he looked frantic and angry as he walked towards their booth.
"Sonic, we have been looking for you like crazy!" Tom said.
"Well, if someone had picked up me at school I wouldn't be here!" Sonic said with a bit of hurt in his voice.
"In the morning I told you we couldn't pick you up today, I told you to take the bus!" Tom said, "But you were too focused eating, so it's no wonder you-"
Tom stopped midway as he noticed the pink hedgehog in front of Sonic. He was quick to take out his phone and dial a number.
"Maddie? Yes, I found him! But that's not important right now, Sonic is having his first date! Yes, yes, I will take pictures. Yes, bring the professional camera we should have this on his photo album. Yes, I will tell them to wait, ok I will wait for you we are at 'Mama's Pizzeria'."
Tom and Maddie were great but could they be any more embarrassing? Sonic covered his face with his hands.
"Oh, dear ground that is underneath me ... please eat me."
Tom began to take pictures with his phone, he was so proud of his blue son.
Sonic just couldn't take it.
"Alright, we are leaving!" Sonic said as he stood up from his seat and tried to push Tom away.
"Wait, you are not going to introduce me to your girlfriend?" Tom asked.
"She is not my girlfriend!" Sonic said and he got closer to Tom and whispered. "You are embarrassing me!"
But before leaving, Sonic needed to ask Maria for a favor.
"Oh Maria, Amy seems comfortable with you." Sonic turned to look at the blond one who stood up from her seat. Amy followed her as well. "Do you think Amy can stay with you? Looking at how Tom reacted ... I just know that at my home she will be too overwhelmed."
"You go in peace Sonic, I will take good care of Amy," Maria smiled as she looked at Amy.
Almost as if she was scared, Amy got closer to Sonic and with a panic she held his hand. "Wait, don't leave me!"
Sonic felt bad for the pink one. He saw so much of him in her. They were so similar but at the same time so different. He didn't how to express himself although he wanted to bring her comfort. Sonic wanted Amy to be safe and he made a promise to himself that he will help her and protect her.
"Don't worry, I will come back!" Sonic said as he softly grabbed her hand, caressing it.
"You promise?" Amy asked innocence filled her voice.
"I, Sonic Wachowski the Hedgehog promise to visit Amy Rose every day after school," Sonic said.
"Amy ... Rose?"
"Yes, since you didn't have a last name I thought I should give you one." Sonic smiled and for a moment Amy's heart skipped a bit. "From now on you are Amy Rose! Because you are pretty and strong like one!"
They both look at each other's eye and for a moment Amy's felt different. Her heart began to beat faster, she felt the heat rise to her cheeks especially when Sonic smiled at her with such warmness.
SNAP SNAP
Tom interrupted the moment as he began to take more pictures of them.
"Don't mind me," Tom said, "You both are just too adorable!"

______
“Y/N. I said to take a seat,” said John. He nodded at the empty chair beside Dean, Dean’s fists clenched as he tried to break free of the zip ties around his wrists and ankles, panting as he struggled.
“No thanks,” you said, pointing your weapon at John.
“I told you, he’s a killer,” said John. “I’m taking care of this one way or the other.”
“Y/N, I didn’t-” said Dean, coughing when he got a hit to the face.
“Don’t lie to her! You tried to kill her!” shouted John.
“You tried to kill Sam. You almost killed her,” said Dean, spitting out blood, glancing to you. “Y/N, I didn’t...I wouldn’t…”
“Why’d you stab your little brother?” asked John, pointing his gun at Dean. “Why’d you sneak in her apartment and try to kill him? Why didn’t you try to kill her too?”
“Y/N, help me,” said Dean, turning his head away when John brought the gun closer.
“You thought you were going to run off with her and everything would be alright again? You thought you could run away from me? You thought you could cuddle up with this one and pretend you were the good guy? Pretend you wanted to start over, huh?” asked John.
“He is the good guy,” you said. “Put the gun down John.”
“He tried to kill Sam and Jack and you and-”
“And how the hell would you know we were starting over unless you were listening in on us,” you said.
“Ah, fuck,” said John, rolling his eyes. “Always with the fucking technicalities. Shit. If you were a little bit dumber you could have lived through this you know.”
“Sorry. It’s a good thing you’re dumb enough for both of us,” you said.
“Get in the chair, Y/N, before I blow his fucking head off,” said John, Dean looking his father up and down, swallowing hard. “Don’t act surprised. You’ve known this was coming for years.”
“Why?” asked Dean. “What did we ever do to you?”
“Nothing,” said John. “By the time I realized your mother and I had our problems that I wanted to resolve a certain way, I realized I had to set up a fall guy. And you existed so there was that issue to deal with as well. You were always a little jealous I gave Sam more attention, done purposefully of course to piss you off, but you just...you were still a good kid. I had to set you up for them both, wait until you were old enough to be angry and strong. I was so damn careful to set it all up and then Sam just had to go to a friend’s after school. The one fucking time the kid didn’t ask permission. The little prick. When he didn’t show up and I heard you coming home, I had to improvise. The plan was always to pin it your way but until I could find a way to get Sam too I had to wait. Unfortunately, I had too many eyes my way and Sam got bigger and it was more of a problem. A federal investigation was way more complicated but I could keep my hands off it and let you fall into it easy once Sammy was taken care of. Sucks about that Jack kid. Good cop. At least he isn’t going to pull through.”
“Actually, he’s going to be just fine,” you said, John glaring at you. “Did I forget to tell you about that?”
“You got three seconds before I-Ow!” shouted John, dropping his gun as you hit his shoulder once and then his leg, John growling as you kicked his gun away.
“You okay?” you asked, pulling out a knife, sliding through Dean’s ties.
“Not really,” he said. “Sammy going to be okay?”
“Yeah,” you said, looking Dean over, noticing the marks all over him. “We’ll see if we can get you bunked up with him.”
“You had to know it was a trap, right?” asked Dean, looking over as you secured John, pulling out your phone to call for backup. “You didn’t think…”
“He tried to make me think it was you but he sort of messed up there,” you said.
“How? I mean the way I woke you up...I wouldn’t blame you if the thought crossed your mind,” said Dean, rubbing his wrists, glancing down.
“You’d die before you ever hurt Sam. Or me,” you said. “Then that text message. I mean, it was like he wasn’t even trying. All direct. No code to decipher. Slacker.”
“A stupid fucking text message!” shouted John. “That’s what-”
“Yup. Let’s get you out of here, Dean.”
“Hey, Bobby,” you said, grabbing a cup of coffee from the hospital vending machine. Bobby looked like he’d aged about five years in the span of as many hours. You handed the cup over to him, grabbing another for yourself.
“I always knew something was up…” said Bobby. “How those boys doing?”
“Well,” you said, leaning back against the machine. “Jack woke up. Doc said he’s going to be okay. Sam and Dean were arguing over who got to have the cherry jello last time I saw them. They’ll all be alright after some rest.”
“I heard from a Castiel at the FBI. Those boys’ case is wrapped up. I’m pretty sure Dean’s getting fired for going off the grid though,” said Bobby.
“I’m pretty sure none of them really want to stay on. Sam was talking about preparing for law school and Jack was wondering if he could get a street cop job around here. If the new chief would be down for that,” you said.
“If the runt brings in donuts and not those stupid bagels you did he can be senior fucking detective,” said Bobby, a smile tugging it’s way onto your face. “Yeah. He’s got a job here. What about you and Dean?”
“We’ll figure it out. I talked to the Doc about a nursing gig. I was supposed to join a few years back but...shit happened,” you said.
“That’s a word for it,” said Bobby, sipping on his coffee. “Black.”
“Like your stone cold heart,” you said with a grin.
“I’m going to miss you around the station,” he said with a smile. “Don’t be a stranger.”
“Oh, I hear anything from Jack I’ll come down there and personally kick your ass,” you said.
“Yup. You’re going to be alright,” said Bobby, his phone going off. “Oh great, it’s the guinea pig guy again.”
“Later Bobby,” you said, heading back down the hall towards the boys room, poking your head in to find it empty. You walked towards the other wing of the floor to ICU, giggling when you heard Dean giving flirting tips to Jack.
“That nurse with the blonde ponytail? She’s totally into you,” said Dean. “Work up that injured puppy dog thing.”
“Dude, let the poor boy relax,” you said with a smile, wrapping your arms around Dean’s shoulders. “And it’s so the redhead that’s into you, Jack.”
“How you doing?” asked Sam, picking at a bandage while you scowled. “You try being wrapped up like a mummy and see how much fun it is.”
“Uh, I win that fight,” said Jack, waving down at his body.
“Boys,” you said, pulling over a chair, sitting beside Dean, his head resting on your shoulder. “I’m okay. So when can I start breaking you mutts out of this joint?”
“I can go home today,” said Dean with a snicker. “Suckers.”
“Who knows how long,” said Jack, glancing around.
“Forget about that. How about you guys tell me what kind of food you want me to sneak in here for you. Pizza?” you asked, a room full of smiles popping up. “Pizza it is.”
Two Months Later
“Officer,” you said, Jack stepping into your new condo with a smirk. “Shoes!”
“I’m on duty,” he said, slipping off his boots, padding through your living room past Dean, going straight to your kitchen.
“That steak sandwich is mine and I will destroy you if you even think about touching it,” said Dean, giving Jack a wave.
“You want me to eat Y/N’s crappy salad instead?” he asked.
“How about you go to your own damn house and insult the contents of your fridge,” you said, Jack pulling out a package of deli meat with a smile.
“But your house is in my patrol area,” he said with a smile, starting to fix himself a sandwich, your front door opening as Sam burst in. “Sam, you want a sandwich?”
“Starving,” said Sam, walking right into your kitchen, Dean holding up his hands.
“I told you we shouldn’t have given them extra keys,” said Dean.
“Your condo is closer to school than my place,” said Sam, Jack sliding over condiments to Sam while he worked. “Speaking of which, what’s lazy ass doing over there?”
“I came home for a quiet lunch with my girlfriend when the two stooges showed up,” said Dean, hopping up off the couch.
“That must make you the other stooge,” said Sam with a cocky smile.
“Shut up,” said Dean, reaching into the fridge for his sandwich.
“Can I have some?” you asked, Dean holding out half to you. “Thank you baby.”
“Why’s she get some?” asked Jack. “We help saved your life too.”
“Oh I rode that gravy train into the ground,” you said. “It’s just because I’m cute, isn’t it?”
“You’re all such dorks,” said Dean, grabbing your salad and tossing part of it on a plate. Sam’s jaw was nearly dropped. “It’s for you, dumbass.”
“Oh thank god. I thought we might have to have your head looked at for a second there,” said Sam, grabbing a spot at the table, Jack grabbing a soda, sliding into his normal spot, all three chowing down, talking about work and Sam’s classes.
“Hey, you’re zoning,” said Dean, waving a hand in front of your face. “You alright?”
“Yup,” you said, sitting beside him, nibbling at your lunch. “I’m perfect.”
Ten minutes later Jack was off, Sam saying he’d be back for dinner, Dean chuckling when they were gone.
“I’m really glad those two didn’t die,” said Dean.
“You want me to go with you today?” you asked, Dean shaking his head.
“You ask that everyday, you know,” he said. “It’s therapy, not prison.”
“Any day you ever want me to go, I will,” you said, Dean kissing your cheek. “I know you don’t really like going.”
“It’s growing on me,” he said with a shrug. “He’s the guy you went to as a kid and you turned out to be not too much of a weirdo.”
“Go,” you said, smacking him on the chest, earning a chuckle. “And thanks.”
“I used to go for you. Now I go for both of us,” he said, stretching as he stood up with a smirk. “And thank you.”
“For not eating most of your sandwich?” you teased, grabbing your uneaten slice and putting it back in the fridge.
“For everything,” he said. “I’ll see you soon sweetheart.”
“See you soon baby.”

Maou-jou 9 - 12 (FINAL) | Idolish7 s2 10 - 15 (FINAL) | SLS 2
I’ve been holding off new seasonals because of other things, but after I post this I’ll have enough time to get around to them. That’s why I can’t guarantee winter 2021 seasonal tags on this post...maybe the next one will have them...
Maou-jou 9
…it seems shopping channels even are the same in the demon world.
Now even the demons have quests! (The frame is different to the princess’s, though.)
Oh! The quest failed.
Neo Alraune: in flower language, “the 2nd coming of happiness”. The worry from a little while ago was, “I’m worried about my brother.” The worry from recently: “I didn’t think about being happy that the princess didn’t kill my brother.”
The penguin demons are pretty cute!
Don’t you know how parents forbid children from sleeping until they finish all their homework? Must be something like that.
Yoku ganbarimashita! – Syalis worked hard!
LOL, mental age: 3. Poseidon likes cute things…I can’t read a lot of this…the hardsubs cover the JPN text.
They…both succeeded! (…LOL?)
Maou-jou 10
Owarinocity = Endopolis. It’s a good equivalent, if I do say so myself.
…oh yeah. What happened to Alraune? Update: There she is!
Also, that blonde guy in the infomercials doesn’t look too bad…*makes chef’s kiss gesture with one hand* Nice.
I wonder, was Twilight once human…?
LOL, there’s a goat symbol on the cleric’s pyjamas. Also “first time”, LOL.
I think they were playing shiritori at one point.
Hanamaru saikou yoku dekimashita!
Maou-jou 11
…How does one “sleep cheerfully”, anyway?
I think I saw Twilight drop something…some kind of paper…
Aw, Twilight blushing is kinda cute!
LOL, 70s shoujo style. Also, “It cannot be!”
Whoa, she cancelled it?!
I read up on this series on TV Tropes…and apparently the Demon King captured the Princess in her sleep.
Kagemusha? Like a ninja or something?
Apparently the Demon Cleric is much older than he looks.
Ooh! Hypnos is back!
A-whatsit really is abysmal levels of stupid!!! (LOL)
Maou-jou 12 (FINAL)
Who’s that one tiny guy occupying one of the Ten Kings’ seats?
*watching after Christmas, about a week after the anime finished* This is not seasonally appropriate!
…*thinks for a second, then spits* That’s the 2nd Nemu in the fall 2020 season!!!
Ooh, the head paladin doesn’t look that bad, either.
“…is it good to be…”
“…has seized the princess!”
“…that demon king is rather cute.” – See? Someone agrees with me.
Anyways, that was a fun series. See you soon!
Idolish7 s2 10
…Back at it after so long…(I can’t help it though – Crunchyroll, per month, is about double the local Funimation sublicensor’s fees, and for much less content that’s worth my money to boot!)
I’ve always thought Momo was like Sasara (HypMic), so seeing him anguished hurts me in the kokoro too…
I know Banri was involved with Re:vale somehow…this must be it.
…Male idols are also popular among men? Is this why there are 8 (!!!) idol anime in winter 2021 alone…? (Also, that’s why HypMic became popular? Multidemographic appeal crossed over with obvious merchandising opportunities?)
It’s kind of scary how Momo stepped the formality towards Yuki like that (to -san).
I guess in his heart Momo still reveres Yuki, some way or another.
The rakugo curtain really sold the moment that they (current Re:vale) were acting like an old married couple.
Yay! Silver Sky is such a cool song! Of course I recognised the intro when it came on.
…I see. The elder Kujo is entrusting his dream to Tenn, so that’s why he banned Aya from seeing Tamaki. However, it’s hard to know what to feel when Aya speaks in the vaguest terms possible.
I think that was a special ending for only this episode. I don’t know what its name is, but I guess I might recognise it on Spotify one day.
Idolish7 s2 11
LOL, Nagi’s reaction.
Considering the ‘rona is getting worse outside our very windows as we speak (type?), I think it’s correct to be concerned about your future right now.
Looking at these narrow streets reminds me of going to eat hotpot at the end of my Japan trip…only Japanese streets look like that, I think. Hong Kong’s streets are more crowded than that and America likes their suburbia.
Of course, when you say hajimemashite (nice to meet you), someone’s gotta say it back, hence the reply.
Considering there are people all over the world watching the Idolish7 anime, I would say you are telling the world about I7, Riku.
Oh! Restart Pointer! There was an MV for that one…I think it was around the time Idolish7’s MVs started getting better.
So this is the context around the new outfits! Cool!
There have been way too many puns about “idol” being…y’know, “ai (love) doll” and stuff like that…
I have one Twitter person who I follow (DejiNyucu, part of the creative team for Autumn’s Journey) because I don’t get much I7 content and they keep mentioning this “Haruki” person…and suddenly a “Haruki the Betrayer” showed up in the graffiti…they might be the same person, I think. Not Deji, but Haruki. Update: Sakura Haruki, perhaps…?
Sougo’s such a bad liar…
Sometimes, the best way to deal with things is to be direct…(I’m not very good at that, I naturally talk in a very roundabout sort of way.)
Sougo with long hair like Yuki would be really pretty… (<- has an obvious thing for guys with long hair)
Idolish7 s2 12
Nagi’s stupid accent is generally what he’s best remembered for (for me), so seeing him speak normally, and do a press conference on top of that, is…impressive.
A kabedon on top of all this! Whoa!
Shibuya 109 parody…? (I’ve seen that once or twice – parodying that means people know their stuff about Shibuya.)
I think the “it’s overflowing!” is referring to the hype in the “room”.
…this dejected Momo is worrying…(well, he is worrying and I am worrying about him.)
Oh, I see. The person responsible typed the letter so that they couldn’t be traced back. Kind of like those old movies where the culprit would cut letters out of newspapers to make threat mail, but…with even less traces than that, because cutting letters out leaves evidence.
…wow, it took a while for this ep. to have an intro…
…LOL, I just spotted Kenjiro Tsuda cited as the “fake Zero”, meaning the real one might never show up this season.
There’s something really stupid and infectious about these managers’ enthusiasm for drinking energy drinks. It puts a goofy smile on my face.
Is Musubi Tsumugi’s mother…? Update: Yes, she is.
…Wait, so the Chiba Shizuo guy is actually important?!
Idolish7 s2 13
Whenever someone says “by the way”, it means they’re changing the subject. I hate to state to obvious, but Sougo is clearly deflecting the topic of conversation from being about him.
I wonder if this guy (Haw9) is the actual Zero graffiti vandal…?
Hmph, I didn’t realise Tenn doesn’t refer to Kujo-san as his father, but…like that (“Kujo-san”) instead.
Oh hey! These are shots from Vibrato!
Most dramas can be solved with the power of Good Communication. That includes this one.
I feel like “he has a dark side” describes both Tenn and Kujo-san.
“Everyone, remember to wash your hands and gargle thoroughly.” – This is always a good thing to remember in the time of ‘rona. Reminds me of Jakurai’s line in ARB (<- this game started just after the ‘rona came down).
What did Sougo go to uni for (what specialisation)?
Idolish7 s2 14
I just realised Banri calls Momo -kun. Hmm…
Denki = electricity, LOL.
I feel like Tenn is basically Ramuda, give or take actual pink hair…guys in musical groups with pre-existing angst that they become the “centre” of. The fact Fling Posse have Saito Soma and so do Trigger strengthens the connection.
I would watch the heck out of a musical like that! Make it come true, Idolish7! (Also, today is I7 day! I’m not much of an I7 fan outside the anime, but…that’s cool!)
That shot of them jumping! I remember seeing it on the official site before!
Idolish7 s2 15 (FINAL)
There you go! I was wondering where Banri’s injury was – that was the only bit that didn’t add up for him to be Yuki’s old partner.
Hmm…Momo is 4 years younger than Yuki but 2 years younger than Banri…
This episode has a real concert vibe to it, to the point where I got startled by how loud the yell was at one point. (Even if it is mostly stills.)
LOL, lookit Okazaki!
Apparently, if you’re a hako oshi, you like all the members of a group. Someone with a green light and a pink light likes both members of Re:vale.
LOL, Usagi for Asahi beer.
…I forgot Nagi is 19.
…Ooh, I think that’s the kid from ZOOL. No wonder they needed a season 3!
That’s all. See you next time!
SLS 2
“fine and upstanding person” – That’s…hard to believe, Hayato.
I wonder how many bois Toboso designed for SLS…?
…The episode title is actually “Blank”. Not “Break”.
One of the guys’ shirts says moteki on it. That’s a period in one’s life where one enjoys more romantic attention than usual, literally “popularity season”.
The subs missed an I, so initially I knew Kiriyama’s name as “Kiryama”.
There are meant to be 2 wings, right…?
“He who controls information controls everything, right?” – For once, I’m surprised Hayato is right (and not just in that smug way of his).
“…I’m being treated like a manager.” – But Hayato is a manager! (In a sense.)
The plait guy jumps to nicknames really fast…also, why do I get the feeling Maeshima will lose the key?
I hate to say this Maeshima, but I side with your childhood friend (Kiriyama) here. As much as the anime wants me to back you, I’m watching for everyone else at this point.
That blocky building looks pretty cool. I think Zel (Archi-Anime) would like it.
Sasugai’s setup looks pretty cool, including his chair.
…hmm, Maeshima’s like me in a sense. I learn best by copying others, but memory is my best asset. If I don’t regularly train the fundamentals, I suck at everything. That said, I don’t have an eidetic memory. Also, I didn’t quite figure out Ken = Ken(sei Maeshima) until I watched long enough to connect the dots.
LOL, Derry’s. (<- reminded of a word for “butt” <- derriere)
Well, the guy’s (Souta…?) shirt does say moteki…
Kiriyama kinda looks like Jyuto (HypMic), come to think of it…Right down to his angry streak (although Jyuto has a reputation to keep as a “cool dude”, while Kiriyama is more of a Manza (Boueibu HK) and he’s more angry than he looks).
…This ED is nothing special.
…Hmm? Is that a small Terauchi and Maeshima…?
I think I’m sold for now, but I’m rooting for the other team, not Maeshima’s…not yet, anyways.

Show Your Teeth
Characters: Fiona, Winter, May, Robyn, Joanna Rating: Explicit (tagged as thoorist) Tags: slice of life, sexual tension
First Draft of ch 10. I really liked it but it was too slow and diverted from the plot too much. uploading here for archive purposes cuz pc likes to eat files. unedited. I'm still peeved that I need to delete all my Marrow scenes :(
Read Show Your Teeth on on Ao3
Or Tumblr
angeldust: Stay out of trouble. angeldust: I’m playing up Robyn’s hero image for something after mid-terms. foxhot: geez. thnx snowflake :p angeldust: Fiona has better ideas about what you could do with that tongue. happywool: !!! angeldust: Hm… seems a visual aid is required.
May choked on her food and quickly hide her Scroll. She didn’t see much but she saw enough to turn her a deep shade of red. Her ears burned and heart was skipping beats. Marrow gave her a worried look, slowly patting her back.
“I told you it was spicy and not to inhale it,” He mumbled taking back his leftover curry. May tried not to make a scene, tried to remember that people were still filtering out from the lunch rush to return to class and tried to keep her death quiet as she swallowed her food.
“He’s did warn you,” Joanna grinned across from across the table. She fished around in her bag for a second. After all these months May knew it was an act. She saw Joanna’s eyes brows raised ever so slightly as she caught up with their group chat. Somehow the damn women kept a straight face and didn’t blush. Elm and Marrow didn’t notice the thick gulp caught in Joanna’s throat. May could practically feel it against her lips. But instead of getting caught in the memory, she focused on what Joanna was saying, “Here’s some water to calm you down.” She pulled her thermoflask from her back and set it in front of May.
“Asshole,” May growled, kicking Joanna under the table. There was only a rich laughter that only made May’s heart flip in a different way, pulling the soft throb between her legs to her chest. She did drink most of Joanna’s water and took a deep breaths afterwards, focusing back on their previous discussion. “As I was saying I agree with Joan. It’s bullshit how they expect us to turn in our assignments while we’re on missions.” She stabbed her fork into Marrow’s curry one last time, stealing a piece of meat and potatos.
“Yeah but Atlas’ has the best CTT Tower,” Elm crossed her arms and sighed. May ignore Marrow’s lingering eyes on the stretching fabric across Elm’s arms. Mostly because if she teased him, Joanna was going to get her back and certain… areas was already teased from Winter’s picture. “The only place with no signal are the mines so technically we don’t have an excuse.”
“Three hour debriefing, an hour of transport and two hours of fighting Grimm,” Marrow listed, tail betraying his calm voice and thrashing with fustration, “Isn’t study time.” He pushed curry around until a thought hit his head. It was cute how his tail flexed straight with realization before relaxing and swaying again, “How the hell is RMJT (Ramjet) keeping up?”
May blinked, struggling to keep her face blank as she shrugged, “I’m used to the bullshit pressure. Rich family, kid champion.” She said. As if Winter doesn’t carefully picks out their missions. As if Silvio didn’t hacks into their instructors accounts to give to them notes about the lessons they missed or a review sheet for pop quizzes. He offered to alter their grades but the Mantle Rats were too noble- “Ow! Fuck!” A sharp jerk and pull on her wrapped braid nearly threw May off her seat.
There was an annoyingly stupid gasp, Silvio passing by with a mountain of food that threaten to topple over, “Language, Ms. Marigold. Don’t let these uncultured Rats rub off on you!”
“I’ll shove the next HR shot in your eye you little fuck!”
Silvio stuck his tongue out. “The Schnee wants RMJT in her office, after you two finish your appitizers,” He said as he continued walking across the unspoken boundry between the students and offical military personal. May watched, massaging the dull burn away.
Clover helped the boy spread out food while Glade grabbed a plate and immediately started eating, nodding along to whatever Dr. Peitro was saying. Occasionally they’d had to set their utensils down, hands slowly going from sign to sign or just typing something out on their Scroll when the brightest mind in Atlas didn’t understand.
Her attention was drawn away when Marrow elbowed her, asking for help about something from their political and law class. May answered all the questions eyes only occasionally drifting to the little shit and Glade. With the highly maintain fade haircut cut and muscular build, the compression on their chest, they looked good. Healthy. They’re cheeks weren’t hallow even if their eyes…
Even if their eyes was still glowing that controlling eerie blue-
May took a deep breath, giving Marrow a weak apologetic smile and asked him to repeat the question again. Despite what Silvio said, Joanna and May took their time, both stealing some of Marrow’s curry and answering whatever questions he had. She counted the times her Scroll buzzed. On the third, fourth, then fifth buzz, all within seconds of each other, May and Joanna got up, giving the two Junior Ops a small smile.
“See you two for Conditioning?” Joanna asked.
“Of course!” Elm said with a large smile. " We’re beating our record today, Greenleaf!" Elm practically yelled, giving a big smile and even a bigger flex. Soon the women will need a new uniform, she could practically hear the seams rip.
“You say that every week…” Joanna mumbled a little tired. They took their time departing. If Winter was going to be a brat, they were going to be a tease.
The Specialist building was almost scary quiet. Empty, really. At first May hated it. It made her heart beat all to loud. Even Joanna must have heard it because she chuckled low and soft. May’s skin pricked, feeling a little too cold in the area where her partner liked to rest her hand. But Joanna didn’t, the red blinking lights and cameras in the hall stopping her. This was one of the most securied areas under the military’s control… which made May’s heart race a little faster and harder until her hand was shaking.
Joanna stepped close, laughing low and hot in her ear as her hand slowly wrapped around hers to steady her Scroll against the scanner. May tried not to tense and give the women any reaction, but she could feel the burning in her ears. There was a tiny yelp that would be hidden by the hissing doors on the security footage.
For some reason May expected to find Fiona seated on the desk, taking up the place where papers or a keyboard would be and demanding all of Winter’s and Robyn’s attention like the little brat she was.
Instead she got to see the picture Winter sent in person, with Robyn and Fiona corning the Specialist onto her own desk. The pair had worked that stupid uniform open a little more. Fiona didn’t leave Winter’s collarbone, only peeling back enought to give May and Joanna an angry glare for interrupting. Then she sank in those sharp teeth with renewed purpose.
Joanna hummed low and hot at the sight, helping May step into the room and locking the door closed. May’s heart beat moved a little lower. Fi and Robyn must have headed over right after Winter sent the picture. By now Winter was out of breath, eyes only slightly unfocused as the deep blush ran down and down, past her clevage bound in lingere and dusting her firm abs. A little lower were Fiona’s hands, restless and tugging a little at the belt and straps that circled her thighs- Ahem, thigh high boots.
Fiona had that look in her eyes. She was far to focused, breath too measured and ears fluttering in fustration- Suddenly May was in the changing room, months and months ago. When Winter first riled Fiona up to fuck Robyn, when May first felt Joanna’s strong hands on her chest. Her breath stuttered and she closed her eyes trying to control herself but Fiona’s sharp huff demanded her attention.
“These kinda look like harness, don’t you think?” Fiona asked, tugging at the belt and leathers again. Faux innocent voice, clipped with the slightest heat making everyone in the room shiver, even Joanna. May responded with a sharp breath. The low and starving that’s been ignored for months growing again.
If Winter had a response, it was lost against Robyn’s lips. The soft moan that had May’s blood boiling was not. Robyn groaned a little low and a little loud. She let got of Winter’s bottom lip and pulled back, satisfied. Fiona wasn’t and she made cute complaining noises as Robyn had to coax their girlfriend off Winter. It was a bit of a work, with how Winter laughed softly and enabled Fiona’s bratty behavior with soft kisses and lingering touches.
May licked her lips and watched, enjoying the rare sight of the three of them together. Joanna’s arms wrapped around her waist, heating up the cold spot that missed her. It wasn’t as bad as May thought it would be. Somehow… somehow they all made it work. Stealing little moments like this right in the middle Atlas’ most survaillanced buildings made everything bareable.
Joanna’s soft chuckle only added an innocent flavor to the heat in the air. “Sorry, but I just remembered that saying,” She murmered. “Sex is nice but have you tried fucking the system?”
“It wouldn’t be trying if you two came earlier!” Fiona growled under her breath. May took a long and slow breath, trying to keep calm. She grit her teeth as Joanna’s hip’s met her ass, hands rolling down from her waist to hips, thumbs snuggly catching on her belt.
“You three rats have no self control,” May growled under her breath. She didn’t look down. If she avoided her hardening dick it’ll soften… eventually. If her girlfriends stop teasing her.
“Sorry if your definition of control is toture!” Fiona looked ready to pounce on her, eyes below her waist. She was biting her lip and when Winter cleared her throat Fiona tensed, back ram rode straight as she glared at Winter.
“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to you four about,” She said. Every button closing her blose only made Fiona’s hands and ears twitch in fustration. Joanna laughed, leaving May and picking up their little lamb.
“I’ll calm her down, I’ve got years of practice with Robyn,” Joanna said. The former detective only rolled her eyes, walking pulled May and Winter to the other couch in her office. Any angry comments was silenced with her lips pressed against Fi.
“So? I’m guessing this involves whatever plan you have after mid-terms?” Robyn prodded. She stretched horizontally along the couch… placing her head in May’s lap. May stiffen, member throbbing hard. She didn’t know if she was thankful that Winter and Robyn ignored it or if she should curse them both out.
It’ll be so easy for Robyn to flip up her skirt, slide her out and-
“Kitten.”
“Stop calling me that,” May huffed looking away. her breath hitched, feeling Robyn’s rich laugh against the nearly dampening fabric of her skirt and panties. “I got… distracted.” She glared down at Robyn who looked far to smug as she licked her lips.
"We’re talking about Fiona pegging you, princess," Robyn said.
And suddenly May could only feel Robyn’s lips dragging down her length while Fiona claws into her hips from behind- May groaned, dropping her head back as her cock throbbed and the ache pulled her back to reality. She came too in time to see Fiona pull back from Fiona, her fustrated eyes on the tent of her skirt. She almost snarled, pulling Joanna down for a heated kiss. Joanna chuckled, holding Fi close and meeting it the frantic energy with a cooling slowness.
May gulped and looked back at Winter, refusing to give Robyn any attention even if the damn women played and lightly tugged on her wrapped braid. “What about it?” May asked, a little too breathlessly.
“You haven’t been prepping, have you?”
May grumbled and turned her head away. When Winter first suggested it, May venomly denied it. She was curious but it was anal. Then Winter held her down with Glyphs and explained all the cleaning and prep stuff. It wasn’t romantic, it was incredibly embarassing but it settled May’s anxieties. She tried to hold onto the calm feeling even as her palms felt a little to warm.
“Thought so… How about we relax that first time sharing rule?” Winter asked, reaching behind the couch and passing a sucpeiciously nondiscript box to Robyn.
“Are these the weighted ones?!” Robyn asked with a gasp. She sprang up, pulling one from the set and doing a close inspection of it. May’s face heated up and she avoided Winter’s slight grin. It wasn’t the usual teardrop shape that scared May, it was more of an angular topedo with a thin neck. It was definately bigger than Winter’s fingers and if it stretched-
May struggled to take a breath and she looked at the ceiling. She was reaching the point where it would take more than time to calm her down and faught against the throbbing that was fogging her head.
“Yes, they are the weighted, vibrating ones.” Winter said. Vi-brating… May took a deep breath, trying not to think about the pleasure rolling down her cock, the ghost sensations lingering at her thighs. Physical Conditioning was in 20 minutes and she’d like to be able to look at Elm and Marrow in the eyes. So instead May focuses on Winter’s voice, calm and collected, “But as I was saying, I wouldn’t mind if we bent the rules if it means you three can help May prep.”
“Really?!”
“You don’t need to sound so excited and happy!” May nearly yelled at her. That only caused Fiona’s grin to grow, and her ears to dance. Thankfully Joanna was laying on her, only a little propped up to give Fiona some wiggle room.
She used it to come a hand through Joanna’s hair, “So what can I do?” Fi asked. Far too excited. At least Joanna was able to kiss all that sexual fustration away. Otherwise May was sure Fi would be bending her over Winter’s desk- May groaned breath stuttering. It’s been far to long is her imagination was running this wild. Four girlfriends and she feels like a damn virgin again.
Winter and Robyn’s laugh helped a little. Gave her something innocent to focus on.
“No riding or oral,” Winter said. Fiona made sounds of protest and Winter quickly explained, “Glade said you probably have an oral fixation and you’d probably kill her.”
“What a snitch!” Fi growled under her breath. “You need to sneak them out again so I can-”
“What? Make out with them again?” May teased. Fiona huffed crossing her arms, her ears flicked once in annoyance and that only made everyone laugh. But talking about Glade… it cooled her blood. Guilt crawling into her chest as an uneasy silence took over. “How… how are they?”
“They’re eating the military’s budget,” Winter answered with a smug note. “Still haven’t talked and… actually,” Winter checked her Scroll. “Would you like to see them work in the lab?”
“Yes!” Fiona said trying to jump up and slamming her head into Joanna’s jaw. May listens to the soft apology and Joanna only laughs it off. The women takes hits from Elm’s hammer on a regular basis.
It takes a few minutes for May’s hard-on to fade. It was less the idle chatter and catch up and more of the bittersweetness of it. How talking to Winter was so rare now days. She grabs Winter’s hand, almost forgetting how cool it is and just holds it until she couldn’t stall anymore.
The trip to the Science Department was surprisingly short. It was close, incase of an emergency the best Hunters in the world would be there within minutes. But Winter takes each turn without looking, doesn’t need to with how much she escorts Glade around.
Winter’s clearance grants them all entrance beyond the lobby and slowly they felt the temprature rise. May sees Fiona’s ears twitch before her human hearing can make out feint pounding. Metal on metal, deep and evenly passed, almost mechanical.
The thick display glass muffles a lot of the noise, to the humans. Fiona grumbles and winces, eventually stealing both Robyn and May’s scarf to nestle her head into. Winter gives an apologetic smile and turns to the window again.
Silvio was sitting on the bench nearly half the room away, tapping away a Scroll. He was dressed in an Atlas uniform a size to big. They still haven’t found a lab coat that could fit the kid either. The top of Glade’s uniform was tucked into their belt. May recognize the binder, either borrowed from Winter or from the same company. Good even compression and with enough give to let Glade raise a heavy hammer high and to slam it back onto the glowing white hot meterial.
May watched closely as Glade paused. They straighten out, sweat rolling off the hard plans of muscles as they rolled their shoulder. The material didn’t bite uncomfortably into their armpits or shoulders. When Glade took deep breaths, the binder expanded easily. May relaxed a little. Until she saw the thread woven into the binder. It was slow, as if waking up or kindling a fire.
She didn’t notice it at first, the small embers passing Glade’s lips. They concentrated. with each deep breath, the embers grew a little bigger. The Dust infused tongue ring peeked out, gliding over their lips before their jaw clenched tight.
A sharp huff, a small plume of fire.
Another deep breath in and this time they finally got it, a tumbling wave of fire rolling from their lips and onto the metal. Fiona yelps, face flushed as if she was near that intense heat. The sound brings May out of a trance and she remembers to breath. Glade’s ears flicked towards the glass, fire dying into embers again and they push the dark safety glasses up, awkwardly trying to get it past their asthetic horns. They blinked and May’s stomach twist.
The only whites in their eyes was the pupils. Slowly their semblance calms down, the glowing blue shrinking and shrinking until it just colors their iris. What color was their eyes again?
Glade grins, ears wiggling happily as they set the white hot material aside and pulls off those huge tempered gloves. Their hands moves from sign to sign. Winter chuckles at it. Being the only one of the five that actually can hang around them to learn the language.
“They said to get your jaws off the floor.”
May huffs and she hears Fiona’s jaw snap close beside her. Silvio looks at the glass then taps at his Scroll. The door hisses open even when the scanner was glowing an angry red. Then the glass tints black.
Winter sighs in fustration quickly stepping inside, “Watts… we talked about tempering with Military property.”
“I’m not listening to sluts that fuck in the office,” Silvio scoffed rolling his eyes. Glade’s jaw dropped a silent gasp and giggle following as their goat ears flutter in delight- Sluts?!
“What did you just call us?!” May yelled at him. Silvio quickly bolts off the desk, hiding behind Glade’s musuclar frame and sticking his tongue out.
Glade tensed, ears flicking
“If you four want that Argus mission with Glade and Winter, I advice you not to touch me,” Silvio grins. May dropped her tense hands that was just a breath away from slapping him. “Good, can’t afford to ruin Robyn’s reputation.”

Silly Pleasures-Chapter 5
I starred at the text for fifteen minutes before I walked into Molly’s room.
“I don’t know what to do,” I pouted, collapsing onto her floor like a toddler. She looked down at me from her prone position on her bed. Molly was no doubt irritated that I interrupted yet another episode of Made in Chelsea with my frequent interruptions. She should be happy I at least had clothes on this time.
“With what?”
Instead of answering, I shoved my phone in her direction, urging her to take it from me. She looked puzzled at the device in her hand, glancing up one moment to speak, but she decided against it and went back down to the text at hand.
Hiya Jeanne! Interested in getting drinks Friday night???
“I’m confused,” Molly finally stated. I gave her a blank look, waiting for her to continue. Along with knowing a great deal about my life before London, Molly also knew that very few boys were in the picture ever since we started living together over a year ago. I kept my male interactions mostly virtual. Any message from a boy, besides Keith, was shocking. “Who is this anyways?” she finally asked, noticing there was no name at the top of the message
I mumbled his name under my breath.
“Huh?”
“Harry,” I whispered again.
“Who the fuck is Harry?” she asked, confused. I just looked long and hard at her before something clicked in her head. She suddenly leapt up on her bed to stand, her skull almost touching the ceiling. “No!” she yelled with eyes wide and voice alarmed. “No fucking way! You’re lying! Oh, my god! Yes, yes, yes!” She continued the squealing for a few more moments before she jumped off the bed and got close to my face, kissing my checks ardently. “I’m so proud of you!”
“Help me!” I whined back at her.
“Oh, this changes everything! Okay. Okay, we can do this.” Molly took a deep inhale and exhale before continuing on. “So obviously, the answer is yes! But your-“
“I don’t think I can say yes,” I interrupted her.
“What! Why?”
“I’m so awkward around guys that are cute! You should have seen me at Dallas’s yesterday,” remembering my abnormal behavior towards Harry and feeling embarrassed all over again.
“I’ve never understood this with you! Like…you sort of flirt for a living? May I remind you that you literally masturbate on the internet for crowds of people!”
“That’s different! They pay me and I don’t meet them!” I defended. “Besides, they are extremely horny so they are less focused on me and instead are paying attention to Phoebe, their ‘horny cum slut,’” I told her, raising the pitch of my voice to match a girly stereotype.
“Eww stop!”
“That’s my shtick, it’s what paid for this flat!”
“But you don’t need to be so vulgar about it, I already have to hear it when I’m home,” Molly sulked. I was immediately concerned.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t think it bothered you that much. I’ll by some more sound proofing equipment-,” she cut me off before I could finish.
“No, it doesn’t bother me terribly. It just reminds me sometimes of how little I get shagged on the daily. And I hate the c-word.”
“Cum or cunt?”
“STOP!”
I smiled jokingly at her at her reaction. As I spoke my next few words, my tone became more serious. “I’m just shy,” I said quietly, “He was really nice and I don’t want to mess it up. I don’t even know what ‘it’ is. To make it worse, there are so many logistical problems to even begin to fantasize about going out with him.”
“Well, you should try. Don’t count yourself out before you even know.” She gave me a sweet, yet slightly pitiful look. I so often made excuses to avoid situations that had the possibility of being painful or upsetting. If I never leave my comfort zone, nothing is scary-and I was okay with that. Molly clearly had different ideas for me. We made extended eye contact and I could tell that this was her way of urging me to take my phone from her hand.
“Should I pick the location or have him do it,” I conceded. Molly smiled brightly, before starting to draft the most appropriate response. “And you’re coming with me!”
*
“Okay, maybe we shouldn’t be doing shots in the back of the Uber, Jeanne,” Molly communicated to me on our way to a fancy bar in North London. I was taking swigs of vodka from a flask shaped like a tampon on our way to meet Harry. With the help of Molly, I was able to solidify plans with him to have drinks at a bar in his area of town. I begged Molly to come because I knew myself well enough to know that meeting Harry Styles by myself at a bar would give me severe anxiety. Though she at first was against the idea of her joining me, I could tell that she was secretly freaking out inside. Luckily, the whole hang out was more casual, with his other friends already invited.
Even though I had backup in the form of my best friend, the liquid courage that good Russian vodka delivers could not be forgotten tonight. Molly quickly ripped the tampon from my hand as I went for a third swig. “C’mon now, you are not getting blacked out before even saying hello to him,” she chided sternly. To keep my mind off of the impending meeting, I started to fiddle aggressively with the frays in my demin shorts. Though it was September and the air was getting less and less friendly, it was hard to force myself into jeans, especially when going out drinking. Molly also encouraged me to show my personality through my clothing, so paired with the jean shorts were black cowboy boots, just in case people couldn’t get from my accent that I was American. On top, I settled on a white, long sleeve bodysuit, tight, but also practical. Molly looked much chicer than I did, in nice dark jeans and an expensive top. I looked a bit like I didn’t belong, though she assured me I stood out because I was different.
The vodka started to buzz through my veins when the Uber pulled up in front of the cocktail bar. “Should we wait here and I’ll just text him to come out and get us?” I asked her nervously. She gave me an annoyed look before pushing me out of the car first. I took a few deep breaths before finally turning towards the bar and walking inside.
Far from your average pub, this bar was sleek, with marble counters, leather booths, and bartenders that looked down on you if you ordered well liquor. It was comfortably crowded for a Friday, with people lounging in the elegant booths all around the room. As I searched the space nervously, I heard my named yelled from somewhere to the right. I spun to see Harry walking happily towards me. I noticed that even though he was such a well-known face, few people were gawking at him as he walked over. It must be a place he frequents, I thought.
It hurt to look at him. His hair was pushed high up his head and managed to look purposeful yet messy. My mouth dried up when he went in for a hug when he reached me. The shock I felt quickly melted away to awe when I noticed how good he smelled and felt how soft his cotton shirt was. But-
“Are you wearing a sweater vest?” I asked as I pulled back from the hug, not actually greeting him. He looked down at me, I was quite a bit shorter than he was, and smiled wide.
“It is! It’s Gucci,” he told me proudly, pointing out the animals scattered through the design.
“Bitchin,” was my only response. Nailed it. Molly cleared her throat softly to notify Harry of her presence.
“Oh hi, I’m Harry! You would be Molly then?” Harry asked sweetly, leaning in to hug her. Molly blushed deeply as he spoke to her, trying her very best to make coherent conversation.
After the brief introductions, he pointed towards the back corner of the room where five other people were sitting around a large, blue leather booth with drinks dispersed around the small tables before it. As we walked, I jumped slightly at the feeling of Harry’s hand lightly between my shoulders, guiding my way towards the group. My body suit was thin enough that I could feel the rings on his left hand. The pads of his fingers were rougher than I expected, surely calloused from frequent guitar playing. I covertly turned my head to look back at Molly behind us to see her mouthing words of encouragement and clapping excitedly. I did my best to hold in the shiver of excitement, not wanting him to feel just how jumpy he was making me.
“Everyone, this is Jeanne and Molly! We have here, Sara, Pixie, Francis, and then Nick and Eliot, who you’ve met Jeanne.” I wasn’t sure if our brief interactions were really considered meeting, but I smiled politely anyways and waved at the group. “Did you want a Mule?” Harry asked me as we took a seat and he caught the attention of a waiter. Molly sat down strategically, ensuring that I sat next to Harry near the end of the booth so she could prevent me from avoid Harry’s questions or jumping into conversations with other people.
“Oh, sure, that sounds great,” I smiled up at the waiter. Once he left, I looked back at Harry and muttered, “You remembered.”
“How could I forget the girl with the crazy tattoo and three condoms,” he responded, amused.
“Well, I only have one tonight so I’m breaking protocol.” I wanted to slap myself in the face at my words, but he seemed to enjoy the banter, eyes crinkling with laughter. I relaxed a bit, reveling in the knowledge that my random bursts of wit were pleasant to him.
“So, you said you are a model? Will I be seeing you in any shows soon?” He asked politely, trying to make genuine conversation about London Fashion Week starting in a few days.
“Definitely not!” I laughed, passing off my discomfort for humility. “I do, alternative modeling I guess,” I replied, as vaguely as possible. “Not runway.” He opened his mouth to clarify my answer when a Moscow Mule was placed in front of me. I took that distraction as an opportunity to move on. “I am a student though.”
“Oh really, what are you studying?” he inquired, sufficiently interested enough that the modeling questions seemed done for.
“Getting a PhD in History,” I affirmed proudly. His thick eyebrows rose, clearly impressed at my words.
“Well that tattoo really makes sense now,” he pointed to my left arm where my snake tattoo was hidden beneath fabric.
“Yup, thinking about Ben Franklin gets me wet.”
Harry choked on the beer he was swallowing as I spoke and I couldn’t help but giggle. Molly whipped her head away from a conversation with Pixie to glare at me. I ducked my head in shame at her gaze. “Oh shit, sorry Harry. I’m really vulgar on a normal day, it only gets worse when I-,”
“You’re good, you’re good,” he laughed, finally catching his breath. “Just a bit shocked is all.” I smiled awkwardly. “Speaking of tattoos, how’s Cecilia?”
“Oh, she’s good! Healing up nicely I think. How does Eliot like his tattoo?” I asked, referring his friend across the table.
“It’s fantastic! I’ll have to head back to that shop for some work sometime.”

“Absolutely, they are brilliant.”
“You and your tattoo artist seemed very close, do you go to him often?”
“Yea, he’s done all of my tattoos here in London. That’s probably why we started dating.”
An awkward pause followed. That comment was a mistake on my part.
“Oh, you have a boyfriend?”
“No, no, no. I should have clarified, we dated for about a month around January.”
“Cool, cool,” Harry said slowly.
“Do you have a girlfriend?” I asked politely, though I already knew the answer.
“Uh, no. That ended a while ago.” Harry’s tone became tinged with sadness at his own words.
In an effort to liven up the mood I responded, “Well, I don’t have a girlfriend either so we are in the same boat there.” That brought Harry mostly out of his obvious stupor, I could see his shoulders relax again.
“What is your favorite vulgar word?” Harry asked out of nowhere.
“I’m sorry?” I replied confused, tripping on the switch of conversation back to myself.
“You called yourself really vulgar, and saying you’re wet isn’t terribly vulgar. You can do better than that I’m sure.” My eyes widened at his words. I could not understand why this was the conversation he wanted to have. If Molly was in-between us, she surely would have pulled me aside and scolded me for even thinking of responding. But, alas, Molly was three people away.
“Okay, but are you prepared for how much you will cringe?” I asked him, getting excited from the alcohol in my veins. These types of conversations relaxed me immensely, I felt like I was talking to a close friend-not a godly man in a sweater vest that smelled like summer fruit.
“Bring it on.”
“Okay, so it’s my favorite because it’s used as a term of endearment. Just remember that, to me, it is an endearing phrase.” Harry looking at me in anticipation, nodding at my qualifying statement. Instead of blurting it out in front of all of his friends, I leaned over to whisper in his ear.
“Oh, not this again!” Harry noted loudly, before I could speak, referencing our first meeting at Paradise. I playfully slapped his shoulder and he grinned back at me. As I leaned towards his ear I was thankful that he could not see the flush in my cheeks in response to his smile. The heat was radiating off of his skin as I whispered the vulgarity in his ear. As soon as the last syllable left my lips, he slammed his drink down on the table, inadvertently getting everyone else’s attention. “How is that endearing? Who calls you that?” he asks shocked. From my peripheral, I saw Molly lean her head down on her hand in embarrassment. I could tell she knew what we were talking about, clearly not meeting her standards of sweet, date conversation.
“I have lots of fans,” I responded humorously.
Harry leaned closer to me, blocking the view the others in our group had of my face. He attempted to make his face stern, but his voice was light as he said, “Now listen, you aren’t actually a prostitute, right? I can’t be catching a charge; my second album still has a few months to go.” I cackled at his words and pushed him lightly again.
“No, I’m not, stop with that now,” I playfully chided.
Harry looked at me silently for another moment before continuing. “I knew that night at Paradise you weren’t behaving that way just because you were drunk.”
“What do you mean?”
“All flirty! I thought for a minute at Union Jack that I completely misread you, but now I can tell I’m right.”
Choosing to brush over the knowledge that Harry thought I was flirting, albeit effectively, I fell into the trap to flirt more. “How do you know I’m not drunk right now?” I asked, feeling the alcohol in my veins, but knowing full well that I was far from drunk. He did not respond, and instead gave me a knowing look. I shrugged, “Well, I did take shots in the car on the way here,” and took a big sip of my own drink. Harry bellowed out a laugh in response.
*
Around 11, I felt it was time to depart from the bar and head home. Molly gave me pointers before meeting Harry that I should ‘leave him wanting more’ which meant leaving before he got tired. In an interesting turn of events, the vulgar conversation with Harry completely erased my nerves. The entire rest of the night I teased and giggled with him like we knew each other years prior. It was so weird, at one point, I entirely forgot he was a famous millionaire, only noticing because of the radio DJ sat beside him. He just became Harry. When I stood to leave, I accidentally brushed against Harry’s hand that was outstretched to place his glass down. This left a trail of goosebumps from the edge of my shorts down to my right knee up. I felt giddy.
The entire group walked outside together to wait for cars and to say proper goodbyes, free of the more confined space. Molly ended up bonding with Harry’s group, getting the numbers of everyone and promising to pass them onto me. Even though these people were also well known socialites, I felt completely comfortable in their presence. Harry did not strike me as someone to hang out with people he did not truly enjoy being around. Our car arrived first, just as I was finishing up hugs, ending with Harry. I was enveloped in his warmth again and his arms were tighter on me than earlier in the night. “Are you sure you don’t want to pop by Nick’s?” he asked, my stomach fluttering at the hopeful tone in his voice. I needed to keep him on his toes and I also knew I should really get home and get online. Bills do not magically pay themselves and nights were my most lucrative times for work. I shook my head.
“I should really get back home, I’ve got some work to do,” keeping it as ambiguous as I could. He released me as I moved to get into the car behind Molly. “Bye Harry.”
“See you soon, cum bucket!”
“Harry!” I squealed, looking back at him, as Molly roughly pulled me into the car. I could see through the windows of the car his beaming smile, so I decided to roll the window down and stick my middle finger outside. I heard a loud, hiccupping laugh on the sidewalk in response. Delighted and giggling, I turned back fully into the car to see Molly glaring at me.
“Cum bucket? Really J?” I heard the Uber driver snort in front of us, but try to hide it with a cough. I didn’t respond to Molly, choosing to lean my head onto her shoulder and muffle bits of my laughter. I slowly felt her body shake too. “You’re so nasty, but I guess he is too,” Molly said, laughter and awe in her voice. “But, Jesus, how is that endearing?”

Lucky -- Chapter Twenty Eight

Warnings: None
Word Count: 3300
I’m walking through a building on my way to find Ahro before she has to leave. I want her to switch my bandages, but I also want to talk to her. She’ll be going on a trip to a place we’ve only heard about in stories, and I want to help calm her down. I’m going to miss my best friend, as well.
“Why?” Hansung’s whine fills my ears. “Why can’t I?”
I spot him with Sunwoo just around the corner, but I don’t go up to them.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Sunwoo shakes Hansung off his arm. “If you wanted to go, you should have said something when he asked.”
“I didn’t know because I has hiding,” Hansung pouts. “So, take me with you. Tell Master Wihwa for me.” He grabs Sunwoo’s arm again, shaking it as he talks.
“Wait, wait, stop,” Sunwoo struggles to get Hansung to let go, but he eventually succeeds. “Ask one of the other guys.” He begins to walk away.
Hansung grabs his arm to keep him from walking off. “I don’t like those other guys. I like you,” he grins, no longer whining.
Sunwoo lets out a surprised breath, looking away for a few seconds. “How can you make a confession like that so suddenly, and make the other person flustered?”
“I do it with Ara all the time.” He then uses both hands to cup Sunwoo’s face, squishing the other boy’s cheeks together.
I want to talk away now that my name has come up, but I am frozen to my spot.
“Nice eavesdropping, Ara,” Danse whispers to me as he walks passed.
“Eep!” I let out, slapping Danse’s arm before he is out of reach.
“Do you see me as a child too, Sunwoo?” Hansung asks. “I’m an adult even though I am younger. I win at everything.”
Sunwoo brushes Hansung’s hands off his face, turning to lean against the wall. “Geez. Why do you like me?”
“I don’t know. You are just cool,” Hansung chuckles.
Sunwoo coos as he pinches Hansung’s cheek like you would a baby.
I tenderly smile, but the sweet scene doesn’t last long.
Danse steps in, pulling his brother away with a hand across Hansung’s chest. He briefly bows to Sunwoo, “Sorry about this, Sunwoo.”
“Ah, good thing you came,” Sunwoo points at Hansung. “Hold onto him so he doesn’t follow me. He might follow us all the way to South Buyeo or wherever we’re going.”
“What?” Hansung whines as Sunwoo begins to walk away, fighting against Danse’s hold. “I am going to follow you. I want to follow you. I want to,” he begins to say like a mantra, doing whatever he can to tray and break away from Danse. He even grabs onto the bars on the wall. “Why? I am going to follow you!”
I take a deep breath, straightening up to compose myself. “Hello Danse, Hansung,” I nod at them as I walk quickly passed.
“Ara, where are you going?” Hansung calls at me.
         “Doctor Ahro!” I glance back.
It takes a little while to reach the doctor’s office, and I am glad to see that Ahro is there getting things ready for her travel.
“Hi Ahro,” I close the door behind me. “Do you have a second to talk, and maybe change my bandages?”
Ahro looks up at me, a tired smile spreading on her face. “Yes, oh goodness, yes. I need a break to clear my mind, and talking will help me calm down.”
“Okay, good,” I smile, walking over to sit down on the cot. Then I kick my boots off, wiggling my toes. “Do you have something to talk about?”
She steps up to me, pulling her sleeve back to show a bandage. “A sword, because I know you will ask.”
         “Who?” I furrow my eyebrows.
“Sunwoo, but it wasn’t on purpose,” she pulls her sleeve down. “We are fighting, I guess.”
“That is not good. Boys can be so dumb sometimes,” I shake my head, swinging my legs up onto the cot.
“Sometimes,” she chuckles, working on unwrapping my bandages.
“I was being nice,” I giggle. “I’m sure that if you talk it out with Sunwoo, it will all work out.”
“I’ve tried, but he just walks away,” she sighs. “He refuses to talk to me. When it gets hard, he shuts down.”
“Then he just needs time to breath. I do that too when nothing seems to go my way. He’ll come around.”
“I hope so. I finally felt like we were getting somewhere.”
“Maybe he is afraid of going too fast,” I shrug, letting out a sigh of relief as my feet breathe.
“Enough about me, Sooyeon was so distraught when I told her BanRyu was leaving for Baekje. Though, she was not for me.”
“I am very worried for you,” I pat her arm. “I will not be able to sleep until you all come back and I know you are safe.”
“Thanks,” she gives a tight-lipped smile. “Sooyeon is going to give BanRyu some of her hair so he remembers her.”
“It is so cute that they are in love,” I giggle. “Weird because it is hard to see BanRyu like that, but I am warming up to him.”
“Never thought I would hear you say that,” she pats my head. “Do you need me to check for a fever?”
I giggle harder, shoving her away. “Shut up. He’s been nicer, maybe thanks to Sooyeon.”
“Bad boy turned good boy by sweet girl?” Ahro teases.
“Stop,” I lunge at her, but she just steps away. “Get back here and heal my feet!”
********
I stand with the rest of the Hwarang as we are ready to send off the delegation party. The four boys going are in their red uniforms, and Ahro looks beautiful in a light blue, purple, and pink dress. I should have gone as her protector, but there is nothing I can do now. I’ll just pray they all return safely.
The Queen with Master Wihwa, our secondary teacher, a servant, and the Queen’s bodyguard following behind, walk to the base of the balcony where the four boys wait. The group stops as the Queen looks over the boys. Then she makes her way to the balcony with everyone, and the princess comes to stand at the base.
As quickly as we can, the Hwarang and Nangdoo get into line to face the balcony. This is truly a sendoff fit for royalty.
“Your duty is to protect Princess Sookmyung,” Master Wihwa says. “As Hwarang, keep yourselves proud. Do not back out of a fight. Keep your loyalty toward your friends. You may find yourself in unexpected situations, and you must keep this in mind: You are Hwarang! You are the pride of Silla! Do you understand!?”
         “Yes!” We chant as one.
I look at Ahro, seeing her less worried than earlier. The chances of her looking at me are slim, but I still do my best to send positive messages her way.
Master Wihwa motions for the Queen to step forward to address us. She does, and he falls back into the shadows.
“These four Hwarang, as envoys seeking peace with South Buyeo,” the Queen says. “Will guard Princess Sookmyung. Further solidifying the alliance with Baekje before you return.”
         “Yes!” We shout once more.
I look over each of those at the base of the balcony. My friends are going to a scary place, and all I will be able to do is sit and wait for their safe return. As much as I don’t like the princess, I hope that she comes back having made peace. Maybe even changed for the better, as well.
The ones going on the trip exit through the back, and we our left to go back to whatever we were doing before.
“I can’t believe they are leaving,” Yeowool sighs as we settle in an alcove outside. “We’ll be all alone in our room, Ara,” he sings. “Will you sleep with me?”
“She’d sleep with me,” Hansung smiles at me. “Right Ara?”
“I just want to sleep alone for once, actually,” I grin, lying down on the bench. “A whole bed all to myself. I can’t believe it. I will spread all out.”
“Won’t you miss having a buddy?” Yeowool asks.
“Jidwi has been having nightmares, and as much as I worry about him, I want to sleep through the night.”
“You are only worrying about him?”
“No,” I blurt out. “No, no,” I take a deep breath. “I am worrying about all of them. I want them back as soon as possible without trouble.”
“The princess is going to see a whole part of Silla that she probably doesn’t even think about.”
“They all are,” Hansung says. “None of us do. Outside the capital are people that we never give a moment to wonder about.”
“I wonder about them,” I place my hands on top of my head. “I wonder if my family is out there. Or if they are even alive. Where did I come from?”
“It doesn’t matter where you come from, but where you are now,” Yeowool says.
“I guess so,” I sigh. “I do so much, but not everyone can see passed where I come from.”
“We need to stop caring about what people think about us,” Hansung sighs. “They can’t keep telling us what to do. We can do what we want.”
“We can, but with consequences,” I tap my feet together.
“But are the consequences harsh enough to stop you from doing what you want?” Yeowool asks.
“Honestly, I don’t think so,” Hansung takes a deep breath. “I want to do what I want, and if that hurts me in some way, I don’t really care.”
“I just, I don’t know,” I cover my face with my hands. “Whatever happens will happen, and that is how I will keep going about life.”
********
“The book on military strategy says the best tactic is not to go to war,” our secondary teacher addresses the class.
I’m sitting between Yeowool and Hansung as we are forced to attend lessons.
“When is Sunwoo coming back?” Hansung whispers.
         “Worried about him?” I giggle.
“I wonder,” Yeowool responds. “I am guessing he will return after preventing the war.”
         “Where is he?” Hansung whines.
“Are you like this when I’m not around?” I pout.
“Maybe,” he grabs my hand, giving it a squeeze.
“Do you really like Dog-Bird that much?” Yeowool questions, looking at Hansung.
“Yes,” Hansung looks at Yeowool with a big grin on his face. “He’s a good brother figure.”
         “What about me?”
“I don’t like you,” Hansung looks away, pulling my hand onto his leg.
“Geez,” Yeowool raises his voice, slapping Hansung with some of the loose fabric of our uniform.
The room goes silent as everyone looks at us.
“Geez?” Our teacher narrows his eyes at us.
         “Boys,” I quietly hiss.
Yeowool coughs, trying to play off his outburst. “This isn’t over,” he mumbles.
I feel my cheeks heating up as the attention goes back to the teacher on the raised platform. “Idiots,” I bite the inside of my cheek.
The teacher returns to his point of military tactics, but now all I can think about are the boys who are gone. They will ever come back safe and sound, or we will find out about their demise through war.
As I have completely zoned out worrying about those who are gone, I don’t catch when we are dismissed.
         “Ara,” Hansung pinches my cheek.
         I rapidly blink, “Sorry, what?”
“We can go do whatever,” he steps in front of me. “And you zoned out.”
I look around, expecting to see Yeowool, but I don’t. “Where’d Yeowool go?”
“I think he’s mad that I said I didn’t like him,” he shrugs. “I was only joking, a little bit.”
“It was rude,” I sigh, looking up at Hansung.
         “Should I have lied?”
“No,” I stand up, taking a step back to not be so close. “You still like me though, right?”
“”More than anyone,” he tenderly smiles. “Do you want to go relax somewhere? Grab a book, maybe.”
“For a little bit, sounds like fun,” I smile back.
He grabs my hand, pulling us out of the room and then outside.
“Hansung,” Danse stops us before we can go to our room for me to grab a book.
“Hi Danse,” I flash a wide smile.
“Ara,” he bows to me. “I need to borrow my brother from you. Our grandfather is here to talk.”
Hansung’s grip on my hand tightens, “What does he want?”
“I don’t know. That’s why he has come to talk to us,” Danse glances down at our clasped hands. “Come on, we shouldn’t keep him waiting.”
“I’ll grab a book and meet you back here,” I push onto my tip toes to press my lips to his cheek. “It’s all going to be okay, and I will be here when you get back.”
“Fine,” Hansung lets go of my hand. “Show the way.”
Danse and Hansung walk off, and I watch carefully so I can follow them.
“Book first,” I firmly nod, turning on my heel to rush off to the room. I grab the first book that I find, and then I find the area where Hansung and Danse are meeting with their grandfather.
“This is not right, but they mean so much to me,” I breathe out as I stare down the boys as their grandfather talks.
The only thing that stinks about hiding from a distance is that I cannot hear a single word being said. Though, I can see all the emotion on everyone’s face when Master Hyunjae flogs Danse’s shoulder multiple times, causing the boy to fall to his knees.
I hold in the scream that wants to rip through me as my jaw clenches in anger. I have never been fond of Master Hyunjae, and I know that he hates me for Hansung being drawn to me and not a pure blood. This just solidifies in my heart how much I want to go against his wishes.
I wipe my angry tears away. I cannot let Hansung or Danse know that I saw this, ever. I need to leave before either of them catch me snooping.
I turn on my toes, running all the way back to where I said I would be for Hansung.
“Ara, why are you running so much?” Chiwon chuckles as he steps up to me.
“No reason,” I say through deep breaths. “I just, I needed to be back here to meet Hansungie,” I stutter out.
“Why the book?” He nods at the object in my hand.
“To read as the two of us relax in the shade somewhere.”
“Shouldn’t he train? He seems to be behind everyone else. Even you.”
“He’s doing the best he can when fighting is not his interest,” I stand up straighter, looking for Hansung. “I don’t need you right now, Chiwon, so feel free to go do whatever you want.”
“Of course, Ara,” he bows to me. Then he walks off, leaving me to be alone.
I stand by myself for a while, looking out for a sign of Hansung or Danse. It eventually comes, as Hansung rounds a corner. There is no sadness on his face like I saw earlier.
“Hansungie,” I coo as he reaches me. “Did it go alright?”
“I’d rather not talk about it,” he forces a smile. “I just want to spend time with you, and not worry about anything else. Just you and me, okay?”
“I can do that,” I grab his hand, leaning into him. “Let’s go find a place where we can do that.”
********
“It’s been a couple days, and I am so worried about them,” I pout as I look out the window in the classroom. “I just wish they would come home.”
“It can’t be much longer now,” Hansung pats my arm. “I’m sure that everything is going fine.”
“Are you saying that because you believe it or because you want to cheer Ara up?” Yeowool asks.
         “What does it matter?”
“I do feel better,” I slightly smile. “I can still worry about them, but I know that they are safe. This kind of trip would take a long time no matter what.”
“You are too cute and sweet, Ara,” Yeowool chuckles.
A boy skids to a stop at the door, “Guys! Hey, everybody! Guys, and girl!” He stumbles over the last half. Then he rushes to the center of the room, jumping over the last step. “Did you hear? Did you hear about it?” He faces us with a frown. “They said that the Hwarang might not be able to return,” he whines.
“What?” I jump to my feet. “What are you talking about?” I narrow my eyes at the boy.
“Yeah, what do you mean they might not come back?” Another boy stands up, rushing at the boy who gave the news.
“Right now, as I speak, they are being held prisoner by South Buyeo’s Crown Prince,” the messenger says, slapping his chest. “They are all going to die.”
More boys are standing now, not sure what to really do with the information.
“This is terrible,” I groan, resting my head on Hansung’s shoulder as the boy is now standing next to me.
“Explain it in detail,” a boy demands.
Hansung grabs my hand, “You aren’t being serious, are you?”
“What do we do? What are we going to do?” Multiple boys cry out.
I lift my head up, taking a deep breath. “First, all of you need to calm down,” I raise my voice above the noise.
The boys slowly stop talking and turn to look at me.
“You have a plan?” A boy speaks up.
“Sort of,” I nod. “Have you all stopped freaking out?” I look around at all the nodding boys. “Perfect. Now, we cannot go all the way to them, or else we will all be killed. I trust that they can get out of whatever bad situation they are in, but getting home after that is different.”
“So, what do we do, Ara?” Yeowool helps to keep me going.
“We go to the border to help as they come back. I’m sure they would be happy to see us, and if they need our help, we will be there to give it.”
“When did you become a military leader?” Some boy jokes.
“Yesterday,” I smirk. “I have to be well rounded if I want to keep acting like a princess. Now, we need to get ready, and we need to leave as soon as possible.”
“Of course,” the messenger boy claps. “Come on, let’s prepare!”
“All the boys in the room rush out besides Yeowool and Hansung. The three of us standing, looking between one another.
“That was great, Ara,” Yeowool says. “You commanded a whole room, and they never doubted you. Not even for a second.”
I shrug, “With how crazed they were, I bet they didn’t even think about it.”
“How did you think of what to say so quickly?” Hansung asks.
“I just let my mouth do the work. I never really knew what I was saying, but it sounded good, so I was just trying to sound confident.”
“You are just being modest,” Yeowool places a hand on my shoulder. “You have been worrying so much that so many scenarios have played out in your head. You were ready for this.”
“While that may be true, I can only think so far.” I shake my head. “It really doesn’t matter. We need to go get ready like the others, and then get on the road. This is where we prove that we are worthy of being Hwarang.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Ah, so much happening, and that usually means the end is near, and that would be true. Don’t worry, there is still a bit left to tell, and something exciting is coming up. Anyways, hope you enjoyed! Please let me know what you thought! :D

Be My Princess Headcannon: Halloween Scare Fail? (prince)
Note: The MC is my OC who is a Native (tribal) woman. Her English is not fluent at all. But I added “translation” in parenthesis to understand what she was trying to say. So with that being said...unless its genuine grammar or spelling corrections, please do not comment against the intentional errors when it's she who is speaking. I appreciate the understanding ^^.
Lastly, this theme was suggested by Choi (from a different community)

____________________________________________________________
October is the month of a special event that the majority of all ages enjoy celebrating. It is none other than Halloween, a term, let alone an event, unknown to our young native lady, Rana. She only learned about it only a few days prior to October 31st. It's enough to say that she still does not understand the concept or purpose of the event. But what caught her attention the most was the idea of dressing up in a costume and scaring people. Rana never scared anyone before and somehow...she wanted to try that out. With the help of her best friend from Charles, Rana managed to have a costume waiting and ready for her to try on and attempt to scare the prince that she works for. Her costume is basically a wolf theme (similar to the picture above) that consists of a black, long-sleeved blouse that was tattered a bit on every edges and collar of the blouse. She wore a plaid skirt with black tights. She wore white furry boots and gloves. Lastly, she wore the accessories of fuzzy ears and tail, heterochromatic contact lens (red and gold), and her necklace that she would never take off.
Excited to attempt to scare the prince, Rana had dressed into her costume and made her way out of her room and stealthily hide at a corner where the Prince would most likely walk near.  And the moment he does....!
"BAAH!!! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!"  (translation: "BOOO! I AM WOLF! I SCARE SCARE!")
Wilfred: Calm, composed and collected as he to many, even this young man can get taken aback at times. This day was no exception as he wandered around the hallways to see if a certain young woman has returned back from Charles. Wilfred was, in fact, aware of what kind day October 31st was to most kingdoms. Unfortunately, the concepts of wearing a costume, trick-or-treating, or even scaring people were not traditions of any sort in the kingdom of Philip. The idea would have probably brought amusement to him but it's not something he is putting much care for right now. All he is thinking about is waiting for her so he can show her a new pumpkin dessert recipe that the chefs made. And so, Wilfred continued down the halls, having no idea or expectations of what is soon to come as he approached a corner. And the moment he does....a shadowy figure suddenly jumped in front of him. "BAAAAH! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!" No doubt this took aback him more than usual and he took a step back with his eyes widened and his mouth drop. Before him was the woman he was looking for. Rana was wearing her costume with a grin of mischief all while trying to be scary. For a moment or two, both sides were quiet until one spoke. "U-um....scahr scahr? You not scahred?" She was anxious and felt she failed. If this was a cartoon, both her ears accessories would drop. However, she felt a hand gently stroking her head and as she looked up, she saw a gentle smile and warm blue eyes looking down on her.  "No. You did scare me. My heart was beating fast. Good job my little wolf." Having said that, she smiled happily-victoriously without being aware of the hidden meaning behind his words.
Edward: The very prince of Charles. A romantic, kind-hearted, and thoughtful man. The idea of scaring people did not sit well with him, however, he was fond of the idea of his people of various ages spend time with one another on the festive day of dressing up and going out for trick-or-treating. In fact, he has considered putting together a special event for his people, but most of all, his lovely friend who works alongside the gardeners. Having already known her lack of knowledge of many of what common people would know, he wanted to shower her with as much experience and exposure as possible. He would do this much for her only. Of course, without her having any awareness of this. Knowing that she would be returning from spending quality time with her best friend, Edward had Louis have tea and snacks prepared for the two of them before making his way for his secret place. However, the unexpected is to come as he approached near a corner and a shadowy figure popped out of nowhere. "BAAAAAH! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!" No doubt, his eyes would be as white as saucers and his mouth would drop as he gazed at the young woman before him. It took him a while to process what happened until he recognized the young lady and came to realize she was dressed as a wolf and attempted to scare him. It would be a lie if he were to say that his heart didn't stop. But to him, rather for the reason of being scared, it was because of just simply how adorable his friend was as he gave a smile, his heart feeling nothing but warmth. "My lovely daisy. My heart nearly stopped. And yet, your smile revived it back. You did a good job scaring me. Now let's go and have rosehip tea and some snacks." Placing his arm gently around her shoulders, he guided them to his secret spot where the two would enjoy a sweet evening snack together.
(A/N: errr yeah I tried with his flowery style of talking....hope it wasn't cringe-worthy..)
Roberto: The fun-loving, playful prince of Altaria, who can be quite the slacker, but can get also serious. Heck, he can be unexpectedly perceptive and hit the nail on the head at times. But enough of that, let's talk about how enthusiastic and excited he is about Halloween. Probably out of all the six princes, Roberto might be the only one who actually would willingly dress up and go out of the palace just to enjoy the thrills of the season. Maybe adding a few pranks here and there, especially towards a particular butler of his. With all that being said and done, this year, to him, is going to be different. Yes, he still wants to go out dressed in a costume and have the time of his life, but not alone. Oh no. Ever since he met Rana and she started working in the gardens, the two became really good friends...well at least that's how she saw it. Roberto has been thinking a multitude of costumes specifically for her to wear. And yet, he can't decide! There was only one solution. Have her decide! And when he got the word that she was coming back from Charles, he was giddy as a little boy who got so much candy. Speeding down the hall while fantasizing about her reaction, Roberto was not aware of the unexpected encounter he will soon face...almost literally as a shadow appeared right in front of him from a corner. "BAAAAAH! I WOLF! SCAHR SCAHR!" "H-huh??" Taken aback, the prince looked at the figure before him with awe before excitement. The person before him was none other than Rana in her wolf theme costume. She was having a mischevious-looking grin as if feeling successful in scaring him...or so she thought when she was suddenly grabbed into a very big hug by Roberto. "EEEEK! My dear Rana is too adorable! And in a cute wolf costume! Oh, now I don't let you go!" "W-Wha!?" Having set her down, Roberto seemed to have been filled with more energy. "Meet me at the outside in front of the palace gates my dear Rana! For we will go out and have the best Halloween ever!" With that, he ran off back to his room to change into his costume, leaving her stunned. "B-But why Robbeh (Robbie) not scahred!?"
Glenn: The prince of Oriens kingdom. He is the youngest prince amongst the six princes and one of the tallest. Two words can describe him as a whole. A blushing tsundere. But most of all, a dedicated-hardworking individual who wants to prove to everyone that he has what it takes to be a responsible prince. That being said, especially because of his upbringing, there have been a number of times and moments where he wants to briefly escape the prince lifestyle just to enjoy a bit of what a normal person would. And yet he can't if he doesn't want to be looked down on. So he tries to at least allow his little brother to have the experiences that he couldn't. Despite all this, Glenn had no regrets about the sacrifices he made for himself. One of them was not being involved in events or activities that he or others could label it as childish. An example of such activity would be dressing up for Halloween. Not even the urgings of from his younger brother or his most trusted butler would change his mind. He was walking down the hallway sighing. "Come to think of it, she was shouting about Halloween and flew straight to Charles. I guess she will be spending time there...well it's her first one...and not like I can give something I never experienced." Sounding a little bit disappointed, he continued walking down the hallway absent-minded until he reached a corner where a figure suddenly jumped right in front of him and shouted. "BAAAAH!! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!" It would be an understatement to say the prince was not shocked at all. Yes, he was stunned on the sudden appearance but most of all what the woman he was just thinking about was wearing. No doubt this made him involuntarily blush as numerous questions ran through his head until only one came out of his mouth. "Why are you here....you went to Charles not to long ago.." Not aware of his flustered face or his confusion, Rana just grinned as she held his hand with both of hers with a grin. "Hahlohwehn (Halloween)! Lot of fun outside! Ahlan (Alan) and Yu waiting! We go! Gahlen (Glenn) must wear cohstoom (costume). Our first Hahlohwehn!" Those last three words echoed in his head. Normally, he would refuse but somehow he can't. His lack of refusal gave her the impression that he wants to go as she dragged him shouting 'Hahlohwehn!’ while he was smiling inside thinking that celebrating Halloween wasn't bad every once in a while.
(A/N: >_< i struggled with Glenn's! And I might made it a little bit longer...I'm sorry!....but I won't be sorry for the next two....>u> my two favorites are coming up and I may intentionally make them longer #biasedlol)
Joshua: Prince of DresVan, known for strict rules and traditions. Joshua, out of all the other six princes, is known to be VERY law-abiding and conforms to his role as a prince. In fact, he can act like a nagging parent should others not act with conduct. Additionally, he tends to not involve himself with commoners. Of course, that's all changed when he met a certain young woman, who also became a favored gardener. Her presence brought him different perspectives and considerations, a positive influence she didn't know that she brought to him. And thanks to her recent outburst about Halloween, Joshua himself decided to learn more about the event and see what he can do to make her happy. Having his butler, Jan, bring to him every possible material associated with the history of Halloween to the customs of trick-or-treating that people of various ages participate in to the repertoire of costumes that people wear, he read them all. There are still more about the event that a book or two cannot contain or express, but he made sure to get down the basics. There was only one problem that made him cringe, but then give him a shock-filled thought as he slammed his hands on his desk as he stood up, making his butler flinch in shock as well. "Get the car ready! That woman is far too innocent for whatever she might be told!" Not even giving his butler the slightest second to regain himself and get clarification on what just happened, Joshua strode out of the room, down the hallway. Why is the prince reacting like this? It turned out that one of the reference materials of costumes for women included certain kinds that Joshua, in his view, found either not appropriate or something he just doesn't want other men to see her wear. Or worse, her wearing a costume of the creature he just can't stand to be around. Just thinking of it makes him want her back here just for her own safety and for his sanity. Being absolutely tunnel-visioned about the matter, he was unaware of what was to come as a shadowed figure suddenly appeared right at him from a corner with a loud outburst. "BAAAAH!!! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!" As shocking as this was to him, it was even more for Rana, who was the one who jumped in front of him, causing him to shout in a scream that nearly echoed down the hall. Her eyes was wide cause she's didn't expect that reaction and looked at Joshua, who was now on the ground, with concern. "P-Pahrence (Prince) Johshwa (Joshua)? You ok??? I sorry I scahred you!!" She felt bad, very bad as she bowed. Having regained his composure, he looked at her and his heart was already pounding. To his relief, she wasn't wearing anything he was fearing, but she was also absolutely cute. Far too cute that it might as well be illegal. Just as he was about to say something... "Your Highness! Is everything ok!? I hear screaming!" It was Jan, his butler, who was dashing down the hallway. But knowing he will see Rana, Joshua immediately panicked and got up and stood in front of Rana with the intention to shield her, though that action alone confused her. "D-Don't come any closer Jan! I forbid it! You are not to take another step forward do you hear me!"
Keith: The most arrogant and prideful one of the princes. Stubborn as heck and can really get on your nerves. Hell he can easily talk down on commoners. I bet he thinks he knows everything about commoners as he might boldly claim. Haaaaaah. Well despite my rant about that. He's not all that people may only see on the surface. In fact, he actually does have a soft caring side. You just gotta have patience and tolerance while getting to know him. Who knew he was a total softy and a closet romantic. Of the few people he knows who have such tolerance, there's also one other person who also has those traits, as well as never talking back against the man, even if she desperately wanted to. Additionally, she continued smiling and being herself while trying to find the goodness out of the man, even at the cost of her own sadness. Eventually, after a rough journey, he started softening and warming up to her. Heck, he secretly tries to find ways to make her smile even more without admitting it. As such, he remembers how much excitement Rana had when first hearing about Halloween that he started planning something special for her. A special Halloween theme welcome party. Yes, a VERY late welcome party but one that he believes she deserved. Unfortunately, he wasn't aware that she left for Charles already. "What the hell!? Who does that woman think she is just leaving like that!" It's hard to tell if he's sad or angry, maybe both. Hours have gone by and the prince was so livid that everyone was giving him space as he stomped down the corridor. "Stupid woman....making me go through such efforts all for nothing..." He just couldn't help but sigh feeling more depressed about the situation. However, that feeling would disappear instantly the moment he came close to a corner and a figure jumped right in front of him."BAAAAH!! I WOLF! I SCAHR SCAHR!" This was utterly unexpected that he nearly tripled backward. "Dammit woman! What the hell are yo-!?" Having a better look at her, he was completely speechless. He can't begin to even comprehend what's happening. Rana, on the other hand, was just grinning happily. "Hehe! I gave Liyon (Lion) big scahr!" Ah, forget what's going on. He will ask later. That smile alone was enough to make him forget his anger just earlier ago as he had an amused smile on his face and pinched her cheek. "Silly woman. Bold enough to come and go as you please just to scare me. Just be lucky you didn't come back late." "Eh? Why?" Keith didn't bother to give her a response. Rather he just dragged her along, anticipating her reaction to his surprise for her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for reading. This was hard to make and I was coming up with all this on the fly as I was typing but I hope I depicted the princes correctly
lastly, below is the picture i found on google image that i used to reference her outfit :)

Meetings
@iturbide, I thought I’d say thank you by making a story post for you to enjoy involving the headcanon you made for me! So, thank you x3
There was silence between the quartet walking through the gates similar to their own Askr kingdom. The only sounds were soft hoots from Feh, who was enjoying the pets the young summoner was giving her. Dawn’s red eyes gazed around the entrance of the castle. It was so similar to their own, but the air and aura were different.
“Dawn, are you okay?” Asked Sharena, when the blonde noticed how Dawn has stopped for a moment. The girl looked up and nodded her head before she rushed to catch up to the others, who patiently waited for her before continuing on.
Alfonse somehow knew what Dawn was thinking, as he gently pats her head “I know. It’s almost like home, isn’t it? There’s going to be another me in there, another Sharena, another Anna. Maybe, heroes, you summoned, but don’t worry. You can tell who is who,” he chuckled.
When he said this, Dawn looked over at the pin she made for Alfonse. It was a blue pin shaped as the Askr Emblem she made with metals that she found. Sharena has a hairpin with the same emblem, but pink and Anna had a silver pendant with the emblem. Each of the heroes back home had a hand-made trinket that Dawn made herself. Feh’s is being worked on (it’s a scarf, but Feh doesn’t know). Seeing her handy work on her friends made Dawn happy.
They made her feel so welcome. At first, Alfonse did his best to keep their relationship professional and distant, but when Veronica almost captured her and Bruno helped her escape, it all changed from there. Alfonse and Sharena became family to her. Anna was like her aunt and best friend. The heroes Dawn had summoned also became family and friends to her. Each of them made Dawn feel warm inside. Though, she wondered if it were possible for her to ask of them to teach her magic, or how to wield a bow. Possibly learn to fight with a blade or
When they entered the castle, Dawn could see the other Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna was waiting for them and happily greeted the four. The other Anna and Sharena cooed at how small and cute Dawn was, as Anna couldn’t help but grin “Yep! Our Summoner is a cutie~”
“Maybe she could be with... Nevermind, I’m sure you’re wanting to meet Kiran. They’re from your world too!” The other Anna proclaimed happily. Dawn had caught what the other Anna was trying to say but didn’t question it. She knew it must be due to her age. However, Dawn is mature enough to handle any situation. She is the summoner and tactician. The six spoke to each other about meeting their summoner, Kiran, who was in the library. It was in agreement and they all headed there. Dawn, however, did not.
She got distracted at the paintings on the wall. She was trying to find any sort of differences with the details of the paint brushes that when she turned to point one of the differences she found, the others were gone. Dawn stood there for a moment with a blank expression before it hit her that everyone was gone! Feh realized this and hooted with worry. Dawn stood there for a moment, before she nuzzled Feh, to calm down the owl, but also herself. They just needed to find where the others went! Taking a deep breath and a look of determination, Dawn set forth to find her friends
She went to the library first, but when she arrived there, no one was present. Dawn checked the meeting room but saw no one. The albino girl continued on her quest, pondering where they could have gone as she arrived near the gardens. Dawn stopped in her tracks when she heard the laughter of children near. Dawn never had a chance to play with kids her age growing up. Even when her aunt was given sole custody of her, Dawn just never had the chance to interact with anyone her age.
Feh hooted softly when she felt Dawn tense. The owl snuggled into Dawn, causing the girl to snap out of her melancholy thoughts. Dawn gently pets Feh, giving her owl companion a smile, before taking a deep breath and slowly goes to look where the kids were. It only took a few moments until Dawn arrived and saw many kids and teenagers in the garden, which surprised her. Was there some sort of party going on? She recognized one of the girls among the children. She would never forget the hair color. Tiki. Only, this Tiki was younger, and there were different child versions of Tiki. Dawn wondered if these kid Tiki’s took siestas like her?
Lucina was there along with Robin, looking over the children. She noticed two adults. Both with green hair, but the man looked very strong and battle-hardened, as the woman next to him had a peaceful and kind aura to her. They had to be siblings, especially the facial features. Dawn could see the children playing with them, including the Tikis, so the man must not be scary as he looks. Children were the best judge of character... they are innocent... Maybe they never dealt with such hardships as she did.
Dawn made sure to keep herself hidden from view, using her height to her advantage. Feh, enjoying the peaceful air had taken a nap in the process. The thirteen-year-old observed everyone playing, making flower crowns, and just enjoying this nice weather. Dawn felt this strange urge... this longing to go join... however, she felt out of place. She can’t play. Besides, she had to find the others and meet Kiran and talk about... what was the reason they came here?
Suddenly, Dawn saw them. The two Robins. At first, she thought it was another set of Male and Female Robin. However, the minute she saw their eyes... Dawn nearly took a step forward toward the male Grima. For a minute, she thought it was her Grima. Her Grima wanted to come along, but the others insisted he’d stay. It took a lot of reassurance to let her Grima know that she would be safe. Grima had always been protective of her when she summoned him. However, when Dawn didn’t see the Fell Brand pendant on him, she took a step back.
What Dawn didn’t realize was that there was a twig under her boots. There was a snap of a broken twig that caught everyone’s attention and they looked over at her direction. Dawn froze like a deer caught in headlights. Her thoughts were racing in a panic. What was she going to do? Do they know how to read sign language? She needed to get her whiteboard out. Wait, she’ll drop Feh. She was in panic mode, Dawn didn’t notice one of the kids approach her.
“HI!” screamed out a voice causing Dawn to nearly jump in the air. Red eyes met green ones, as the girl before her smiled widely. “I’m Fae! What’s your name? Oh! Oh! You have the same coat as Kiran!” Fae exclaimed with joy. Dawn held Feh a little tightly, as she wasn’t sure what to do. She couldn’t vocally answer. Fae tilted her head, surprisingly patient for a reply. Before Dawn could raise a hand, Fae leaned in closer, causing Dawn to lean back a little
Fae stared before her eyes go wide “You look like Kana’s mama! Kana! She looks like your mama!” Fae exclaimed, before grasping Dawn’s hand so suddenly, and for a child, she had strength. Dawn felt her feet off the ground as Fae was taking her in the middle of all these kids! Dawn didn’t have the chance to pull away before Fae presented her to many kids. So many voices all at once as her hood was down. At least the sun isn’t harsh today...
“She does look like my mom!” one voice exclaimed
“Wait, why does she have Feh?”
“She has Kiran’s coat! Did you make it on your own?”
“Hi, there!”
“Hello!”
“Want to play?”
Dawn was feeling overwhelmed at this point. There were too many voices calling for her attention. She had to respond. She needed to be perfect. She needed to act appropriately. She is a mature adult! Dawn shut her eyes, feeling her mind racing, but she suddenly felt herself being picked up. Looking up, she saw it was Grima. He looked down at the children but gave them a smile. It was strange seeing him smile at someone else that wasn’t her. She had to remind herself that this wasn’t her Grima. This was going to be confusing. “Children, I know you want to play with her, but it seems she needs some time. Understand?”
There was a union of “yes” from the children, who went back playing, as some said “goodbye” or “We’ll play later!” to her. Dawn was suddenly taken to a quiet spot in the garden as Grima placed her down onto a bench. She could see him stare at her for a moment. Before anything could be said a voice screamed out “DAWN!” and the next thing Dawn knew, Sharena had tackled her to the ground, hugging her tightly.
Dawn was surprised from the tackle but carefully pats Sharena on her head. The blonde let out a sigh of relief but nearly jumped when she saw Grima “Grima?! When did you get here? Did you follow us?”
Grima stared at Sharena before Dawn quickly began to hand sign ‘That’s not our Grima’
“Oh! Sorry!” Sharena apologized, looking at Grima sheepishly, before gently grasping Dawn’s hand “Anyway! Let’s go meet with the others. Alfonse and Anna got worried,” Sharena then began to lead Dawn into the castle with Feh gently landing on the albino’s head. However, she was suddenly taken out of Sharena’s grasp by being picked up. Dawn looked up at Grima.
“I shall come with you. I have some questions”
“ABSOLUTELY NOT!” Grima yelled angerly. Dawn could see the dust coming from the ceiling. Yep. Grima isn’t happy about the news that she is a summoner and they came over for training for a week with Kiran, along with possible fights, knowing Veronica’s track record.
Anna sighed at this “Look, when I summoned Dawn, I didn’t expect her. I expected an adult. There is nothing we can do. Breidablik chose her, and Dawn is a fine tactician to the army.”
“So you decided it was an ingenious idea to send a child to fight your battles?” Grima growled out.
Kiran rested a hand on Grima’s shoulder to calm him down. “Dawn isn’t here to fight. There is no way she’s going to an actual battlefield while they’re visiting. Promise,” Kiran assured. Grima looked at Kiran after he finished glaring at Anna before nodding.
Anna let out a shaky sigh before crossing her arms. “She can still do the training tower, so that shouldn’t be an issue.”
“Then I and my female counterpart will accompany her,”
“Is that really necessary? I mean, the training tower is safe, right?” Sharena asked.
The other Sharna shrugged “We can’t argue with Grima. He makes it clear that no child that Kiran summons will ever set foot in the battlefield.”
Dawn looked alarmed at this before she pulled out her whiteboard from her messenger back and quickly wrote before holding out the whiteboard for everyone to read in her handwriting ‘What do you mean summon kids?!’
”Oh... well, there are heroes that are around your age. Some younger, and some older...” Alfonse explained.
This made Dawn tense at this for a moment, before she suddenly erased her board, and began to scribble profusely on the board. When she finished, she shows them her message. ‘I am not sending any kid into the battlefield. Never, ever!’
“Dawn, aren’t you a kid yourself?” the other Alfonse teased.
The albino had a blush form on her face and scribbled again ‘That’s different. I am a mature adult’
Everyone stared at the message before they all busted out laughing. Dawn simply stared at them, trying her best to not pout.
The few days were eventful. Veronica had shown up and closed their pathway home. Of course, Dawn ended up in the actual battlefield, but not once did the Grimas ever leave her side. While they were impressed with her tactics, they decided themselves that Dawn wasn’t going to be part of any fighting as long as she and the others stayed. Her Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna went with Kiran and the others to find a pathway to home. However, it was decided that Dawn would stay behind.
Dawn protested at this decision. She pleaded that she could be of use, that she was able to help. Yet, her thoughts were screaming something else entirely.
Please don’t leave me behind! I swear I’m good! I swear, I’m perfect! I’m sorry! I’m not bad!
Alfonse reassured her that she would be much safer here. Kiran insisted Dawn remained behind. The older summoner didn’t want her hurt, they explained, but they also noticed how Veronica had suddenly looked at Dawn with interest. The kind of interest that spelled disaster.
Sharena knew what was wrong. “Don’t worry, Dawn. We’ll come back for you. We just need to find a way home,” and with those parting words, they were gone.
Dawn clung onto Feh the entire time. For the first three days, Dawn rarely left the guest room, unless it was to get something to eat or to sneak a book. The Grimas checked on her repeatedly, slowly trying to coax her out of the room, but to no avail. However, they did not push but told Dawn where they would be if she wished to join the creche. She was unsure of what to do. It wasn’t... home. For all she knew, the heroes here would undoubtedly hate her guts. They would ignore her. They hate her. It didn’t help that nightmares were making their appearance that Dawn barely had any sleep.
It was at day three things changed. Dawn was getting hungry again. She grabbed Feh as the owl hooted gently to her as Dawn placed the owl in her hood. The albino girl went down the hall near the ballroom when she heard the laughter of the kids again. Dawn peeked through the door and saw the kids in the room, playing and having fun. The albino watched for a moment before she started to walk away when a ball had hit her ankle.
Dawn stopped and looked down at the ball and picked it up, staring at its red color.
“Dawn! Are you here to play?” The small Tiki asked, stepping out of the room. The white-haired girl stared at the young Tiki before looking at the ball. She wasn’t sure how to even answer. How was she even able to play? Why was she so useless? Why was she this pathetic? Why is she not perfect?! “Dawn... are you okay?” Tiki asked, causing Dawn to snap out of her thoughts.
The albino girl stared at Tiki with such a blank and emotionless gaze, Tiki looked worried. Suddenly, Tiki turned around and rushed back in the room “Grima! Grima! Something is bothering Dawn!” Tiki called out, causing Dawn to tense. No, she was being bad again! She dropped the ball and ran. Dawn was running as fast as her feet could take her. She needed to hide. She had to hide.
The girl rushed into the library and her eyes quickly spotted a table to hide in. Wait, no! That’s so stupid, the table is the first thing anyone would look under. She ran into the aisles of the library, before spotting a dark corner of the podium and quickly hid there. She was huddled in a corner, rocking herself and doing her best to breath calmly.
Feh flew out and hooted at her, getting the albino’s attention. Dawn stared at the owl for a moment, before she hugged her companion, as tears were forming in her eyes. She was supposed to be an adult. Adults don’t cry. Dawn was suddenly wrapped in a hug. The girl tensed for a moment, as Grima spoke “It’s alright, little one. I’m here. It’s okay now...”
Dawn remembered those words spoken to her. How long ago was it? When her aunt said those same exact words? Hugging her like this? The girl sat there, before she suddenly clung onto Grima, tears spilling out of her eyes as soundless sobs escaped her. Grima only hugged her, rubbing the child’s back. It wasn’t until Dawn had fallen asleep, that Grima decided he wasn’t going to allow her to be by herself if she reacted in such a way.
After that incident, Dawn wasn’t allowed to be alone anymore. Wherever she went one of the Grimas followed her. She was still shy around the children. However, they were making an effort to make Dawn comfortable. Fae even got a book and read to Dawn, which made the albino smile. Slowly, slowly but surely, Dawn started to open up to the creche. Dawn was honest with them. She wrote that she never had a chance to play with kids growing up.
The children began to teach Dawn all the games they played. Tag, Catch, Hide and Seek. Dawn played the games, smiling and having fun. The caretakers took quite a liking to her as well. With the Robins, they were impressed by how she was able to make tactics at the top of her head. They made it a game with her so she could improve, but also have fun. Mila loved the flowers that Dawn showed her on her cellphone, as the divine dragon created some of the flowers as practice. The children were obviously happy.
Duma could see how hard Dawn was trying to be strong. He could tell she has gone through many hardships. What kind, he did not know. However, with how small and young she is, facing the battle in her realm of Askr, he could see she was going to become a great warrior, but... he hoped Mila’s teaching of kindness will remain in her. Dawn had the caretakers read the Harry Potter series to the children, and they all loved the tale of the boy wizard with a heavy destiny before him. Though, Dawn could see they didn’t look happy during the parts with the Dursleys or Snape.
The nightmares were appearing less. When Dawn did wake up from one of them, one of the Grimas would instantly be by her side, gently hugging her and soothing her back to sleep. It felt strange... it was like being back with her aunt. Her Aunt Rose would make her feel like this. Slowly, Dawn was making sweets for everyone, though she had to ask permission before dooming the adults with sugar-high children.
Yet, despite all the happy times... there was some darkness that Dawn herself didn’t realize.
While the creche was playing, Dawn was with Tiki. Tiki was watching as Dawn was making one of her jewelry by hand. That was when a shadow loomed over them. The two girls looked up to see a woman with green hair such as Tiki’s but with this strange glow to her. Something about this woman... made Dawn uneasy, especially seeing the look on Tiki’s face. “M-Mother? What are you doing here?” Tiki asked shakily.
The woman gave a soft smile, “Come, Tiki. We’re going now.”
“I don’t want to...” Tiki muttered, barely a whisper.
“Now, Tiki. I know best,” The woman then reached out to grab Tiki. However, she wasn’t able to get her. Dawn had suddenly stood up and pushed the woman’s hand away as she stood firmly between her and Tiki. The woman barely had time to register before she could see the barrel of Breidablik was pointing at her face. Her eyes landed on Dawn, as the albino girl had her blank and emotionless expression on her face. The one she wears for battle or when she tries so hard to bottle up her emotions.
Dawn wasn’t going to give this woman any satisfaction of her emotions.
“... Child, lower your weapon. Such hostilities are not necessary.”
“NAGA!” Duma yelled as he approached. Tiki quickly ran to Duma, hiding behind him.
Naga cooly looked at him “Duma. I see you have tainted this child here.”
“I did no such thing. She sees you as a threat,” he answered.
Dawn never lowered Breidablik, as her screens began to appear around her. Suddenly, two hands gently grasped hers. “Dawn, lower the weapon. We’re here,” the female Grima whispered soothingly. Dawn looked at the Grimas before the screens vanished and Dawn lowered the weapon.
"... I see now. Forgive me, Duma. I now know who is tainting this child,” Naga said, looking at the Grimas before she smiled at Dawn gently, but the girl knew. That smile was fake. It wasn’t genuine. “Dawn, was it? I am Naga, the divine dragon.”
“Don’t speak to her, and do not look at her,” The male Grima said, as he placed Dawn behind him, as the female Grima picked her up, keeping the young summoner close to her.
Naga frowned “She is not our summoner, but from how things are looking, it seems you plan to keep her and corrupt her, is that it?”
The female Grima laughed coldly “Oh, Naga. You make up such wild stories. How about you leave. Your presence is unwanted,”
Dawn could see Naga look at the adults before sighing “Very well, I shall take my leave. However, I will be speaking with Dawn and Tiki.” with that, the woman left.
Tiki peeked out, before rushing to Dawn as Grima placed her down. “Dawn! Are you okay? You didn’t have to-” she stopped speaking when Dawn hugged the girl tightly. Dawn was trembling a little, but she had to make sure Tiki was safe and sound. That woman... Naga... reminded Dawn so much of... her.
“Come on, children, let’s go back playing,” Mila suggested, leading the two back to the creche. Yet, Dawn could see Duma and the Grimas staring where Naga had left. She knew something was happening.
Naga was exactly like Mother Gothel. Dawn had seen how hard this divine dragon had tried to get close to her and Tiki, but the Duma and the Grimas were there to protect them. Dawn wasn’t allowed to be anywhere by herself. When Naga tried to speak to her, the Grimas would intervene, explaining that her Alfonse and Sharena did not want Naga to speak to her. Naga knew it was a lie.
They had sent word, yes, but not about Naga. They were close to finding a way back to their Askr but asked Dawn to wait patiently. Dawn hoped it would be soon. Naga was making her uncomfortable. However, she wished to stay longer with the creche. They were giving her something she had not felt for so long. Fun. A childhood she deserved.
One day, Naga caught her alone. She was in the library when Naga appeared. “Little Dawn, please let me speak my peace?”
Dawn had her stoic expression but nodded. She wanted to know why this woman wanted to speak to her so badly. Feh had flown off to get help.
Naga sighed with relief “Thank the gods that you have not yet fallen, dear Dawn. Please, listen to my tale,”
The albino had to listen to how Grima was a product of evil and perversion, how Duma was blood-thirsty and Mila so naive. How Tiki needed to sleep to prevent turning wild or hurting everyone around her. Dawn stood there as Naga even offered to heal whatever is causing her to not speak and cleanse her. Dawn stood there for a few moments as she spoke about the poor children in the creche being corrupted, and the final thing she said “I know best, Dear Dawn, now come.. I will take proper care of you.”
Dawn then had a screen appear, as she quickly typed in caps as she had Siri speak for her. ‘YOU ARE A HORRIBLE LIAR. IF YOU REALLY CARED, YOU WOULD HAVE CHECKED ON ME WHEN I ISOLATED MYSELF FOR DAYS. IF YOU CARED ABOUT TIKI, YOU WOULD FIGURE OUT ANOTHER WAY TO HELP HER INSTEAD OF PUTTING HER TO SLEEP. SERIOUSLY, SLEEP FOREVER? WHAT KIND OF A MOTHER ARE YOU?! GRIMA HAS EVERY RIGHT TO HATE HUMANITY FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. MY GRIMA NEVER TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED, BUT I’M SURE WE DID SOMETHING TO MAKE HIM HATE US. DUMA HAD HIS REASONS TOO, I’M SURE, AND MILA IS THE BEST SISTER. ALSO, DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK ABOUT THE CRECHE. THEY ARE FAMILY. THEY ARE MY FAMILY, EVEN IF I’M ONLY VISITING. THE FACT GRIMA CREATED THE CRECHE MEANS HE IS A BETTER DRAGON THAN YOU. WHEN YOU GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BUTT AND CHECK YOUR PRIORITIES, THEN WE CAN TALK. UNTIL THEN, PLEASE RESPECT THE FACT THAT I DO NOT WISH TO SPEAK TO YOU WITHOUT AN ADULT PRESENT. THANK YOU!’
Dawn turned off the screen and her phone, as Naga stood there dumbfounded while grabbing her book and leaving. However, when she opened the door, Grima was standing there. Dawn was picked up as Grima smirked at Naga and left to head back to the Creche. Needless to say, everyone heard what Dawn did, and the girl was bombarded by hugs. The albino didn’t understand, but she simply accepted the hugs.
It was even cute when they all attempted to make her a cake. One day, the adults saw Dawn initiating a game of tag, the girl running around this the other children, smiling and having fun. It wouldn’t be long until she would go back to her own Askr, but until then, she would remain with the creche. For once, enjoying her time being what she is. A child.

@glimadora-week Day TWOOOOOO (stuck on a ferris wheel)
In which Glimmer is a lil shit
“So… what exactly is it Entrapta’s made?”
“A Ferris Wheel! It’s, like…” Glimmer rolled her hand in the air, trying to come up with a decent explanation. One that didn’t sound totally mad. “It’s… a big wheel that has seats in it. And it lifts you up real high so you can see all around you!”
“Huh. And… why?”
Glimmer stopped, once again pausing for thought. Adora, arm-in-arm with her, looked perplexed.
Why was a good question. Well, not so much why as in “Why do Ferris Wheels exist?” but more “Why did Entrapta build one, of all things, in Brightmoon?” And that no doubt was one that would take many months more to unravel. The reality is that it simply… was. Not that anyone had any specific complaints about it.
“Because… it’s fun! You can see for miles up there!”
“Buuut… can’t you do that easily anyways? I mean, you can teleport.”
Glimmer bit her lip. Sometimes her girlfriend’s innocent ignorance was just a little frustrating.
“But it’s more fun this way! Cause… you just get to sit there and enjoy it!”
“Huh… right.”
Glimmer sighed and simply smiled, tugging on Adora’s arm. “Come on… just give it a try with me? Please? It probably won’t be around for long once my mom finds out. I wanna ride it at least once before it comes down again!”
Or collapses… with Entrapta that was always a distinct possibility, one she was quietly pushing to the back of her mind.
It was a noisy piece of work. It rattled, it grated, and there was a brief swaying back and forth each time it stopped to allow riders on and off. It seemed… safe enough, but there were a handful of pasty faces on board as the small carriages wobbled from side to side and more than a few people rushing away with apparent nausea once they hopped off. Adora herself looked a little nervous, now, giving Glimmer a look of uncertainty.
“Are… you sure about this? I mean-”
“It’s fine! It’s fine. Entrapta wouldn’t put something up that could kill us!” Wouldn’t she? Glimmer looked around quickly for any glimpse of purple hair, half expecting the goggled girl to pop up with a more specific estimation of their odds for survival. She was, however, comfortably tucked away in the small maintenance booth she’d set up behind the wheel. Spotting the two other princesses approaching she looked up with a grin and frenzied wave while her hair went on working attentively at the controls.
“See…! She knows what she’s doing!”
“That’s… not 100% likely, but…”
“Come on, come on! It’s our turn!”
Rushing forward, Glimmer all but dragged Adora up the steps to the waiting carriage as it shuddered to a halt, allowing two fawns glistening with sweat to trot off, presumably to find somewhere quiet and relaxing to recover from the ordeal. Glimmer took her seat first, giving Adora a thumbs up while the other girl clambered aboard with a dubious expression.
“Wait… what do we hold on to?”
“You can hold on to me, babe-”
“No, seriously, there’s no-”
Too late. They were moving and Adora fell back into her seat with a squeal. Quickly she gripped onto Glimmer’s arm with both hands, eyes going wide as they swung forwards and found themselves on the same level as the thatched rooftops of the town. Glimmer, for her part, was much more relaxed – when you could teleport away in an instant if things became a bit hairy you tended not to fret so much about heights, no matter how shaky the ground beneath you. Adora, on the other hand, wasn’t looking so sure about things at all.
“It’s not so bad, see! It won’t be that long anyways, maybe just like, five minutes!”
“I… sure hope so.”
Glimmer smiled reassuringly and pet the back of Adora’s hand as again they moved forwards and upwards, the structure creaking around them disconcertingly. Adora swallowed, her hand going atop Glimmer’s and clutching it, squeezing it.
“So… the Horde’s no trouble, but a scary ride has you quaking in your boots?”
“Don’t tease me!! I’m just not used to it!”
Glimmer giggled, resting her head on Adora’s shoulder. “It’s cute seeing you all worked up like this, though! Don’t worry, I wouldn’t tell Bow, mostly ‘cause he’s just as bad with heights…”
“It’s not heights! It’s just… it’s freaky, okay? It’s all so… rickety.”
“Not much longer, now… don’t worry. I’m here.”
Sure enough, they found themselves finally at the peak of the ride and wow, what a view it really was! The ocean stretching out to the horizon on one side, the whispering woods on another, valleys and plains behind them… Glimmer gazed in awe with a bright-eyed grin.
“Adora- Adora, look! Look around!”
“I- I really don’t-”
“Come on, it’s okay!”
Glimmer stood up and the carriage wobbled, making Adora yelp. She looked up at Glimmer and whined, “Nooo… Glimmer, sit down, please!”
“It’s okay! It’s okay!” Glimmer insisted, pointing off at the distance. “Oh! That’s Frosta’s palace, I’m sure of it! It’s so far away…”
“Glimmerrrrrr”
“And there! Isn’t that Dryl…?”
“Why aren’t we moving… shouldn’t we be moving? I want to go down…”
“Adora, come on! This view is incredible!”
“Glimmer!”
She looked back to see Adora looking pleadingly up at her, clutching herself with discomfort and distress. “Glimmer… we’re not moving. We’re meant to be moving.”
“Huh? No… no, not yet, I think?”
“No… I was counting. Counting down. We should have moved by now.”
Now Glimmer paused and listened, it did occur to her that the structure was continuing to creak and groan around them, as though fighting against something. There was also some mixed cries of alert and upset from below. She peered down to see people in similar states of confusion and concern, waving down to Entrapta who was now working a lot more hurriedly than before.
“I think… maybe it’s got stuck, or something?”
“No… no, no, no, I want to get off- I want to get down!”
The colour was draining from Adora’s face now, her expression becoming more panicked. She was breathing quickly, too, probably too quickly. Glimmer quickly sat down again and touched her hand, which she pulled away sharply.
“Adora… Adora, it’s okay, I’m here. Nothing bad’s gonna happen, it’s just some sort of glitch or hiccup or something, Entrapta’ll fix it…”
“No, no, no, no, no… I have to get off- where’s my sword, why didn’t I bring my sword, I have to get down-” She peered over the side next, as though looking for a way down, but it only made her go from pale to green as she saw the ground what must have felt like a mile below. “Oh god, oh god, oh god…”
“Adora- Adora! It’s okay, really-!”
“Please, please, please…”
“Adora! Look at me!”
Adora, trembling now, turned her panicked eyes towards Glimmer who held her hands out slowly, offering her palms to Adora’s shaking hands. “Take my hands. It’ll be okay. We’ve got through worse, together.” She smiled. “Trust me.”
There was a second’s hesitation from Adora, then she slowly, shakily took Glimmer’s hands. Then a shiver went down her spine and she thrust herself forward, gripping her arms tightly around the other princess, who just smiled and ran her hands reassuringly down Adora’s back.
“It’s okay… we’ll be fine. Nothing bad will happen.”
“Okay… okay… okay…”
The two of them barely even noticed that the ride had started moving, who knows how long after it had stopped. It might have been just a minute, it might have been twenty or forty. But when Glimmer and Adora next looked up they were back at ground level and a bashful-looking Entrapta was toying her hands together apologetically. “Ahh… I may have got a few wires crossed up while trying to optimise the revolution mechanism… turns out the transformers can be short-circuited pretty easy! Anyway, ahhh, I think your mom’s not too happy about this whole… thing… so, maybe don’t tell her I screwed up too bad? And I’ll dismantle it real fast before anything else happens…”
Glimmer simply stared at her, still trying to catch up with the former few of the girl’s sentences. But with an exhausted Adora clung to her side, gratefully bouncing her heels off solid ground again, she just sighed and waved off Entrapta’s inquiries with vague agreement.
It wasn’t until they were back on the castle grounds that Adora stopped a moment, blinked, then turned, squinting, towards Glimmer once more.
“Glimmer…”
“Adora?”
“Why… couldn’t you have just teleported us down?”
Glimmer’s face flushed up.
Busted.

Rocking the cradle Chapter 12: Contemplation
Normally she’d be excited for things like this. Elly was having a sleepover at Alya’s house, she could finally go out on patrol, get some good air in her lungs, she should be looking forward to it.
But Mari could not bring herself to push out what happened yesterday from her mind. She was utterly dumbstruck when she found her daughter weeping into Adrien’s shirt. And when she found out what actually happened? If Elly hadn’t pleaded for her to stay close by she would’ve found the woman and strung her up by her neck with her yoyo.
Hell if she finds her tonight she still might, she’s not above using fear to get her point across.
When she finally met up with chat at the Louvre there was an odd tension surrounding him
“Lovely night for an outing don’t you think chaton?” she said, leaning over his shoulder to look down at the civilians walking by
“Not nearly as lovely as you my lady” He replied leaning back to gaze into her eyes
Something was off, that much she could tell in an instant “Alright chat, what’s got your fur all fluffed”
He was surprised by her sharp eye “What makes you say something is wrong? I’m just my usual completely composed self as is usual.”
He let out what he thought was a convincingly passive laugh but she was no fool. There was clearly something knawing at him and she would love nothing more than to talk it out but she was having too many of her own problems to really judge.
She pulled him to his feet and smiled warmly “I know there’s something eating you but there’s no point in pressing you for details. Instead, how about we take our time tonight, ok?”
He flashed his usual cheshire grin back “sounds like a plan my lady”
So true indeed the plan was to just leisurely take their time around the city but there was apparently a problem with that.
For the 3rd time that night Ladybug found herself perched on the railing across from Alya’s house.
She looked up at chat “Sorry about this Chaton, for whatever reason my body keeps bringing me back here. God only knows why.”
He peered down at her and waved a hand dismissively “No worries bugaboo, I actually know the family here so it’s good to know they’re safe for the night.”
They heard a commotion coming from inside. They readied their weapons, prepared to fight the impossible.
But what they saw looking in neither could win against.
Sophie had won yet another game against her brother and dared him to give Elly a kiss on the cheek. Too prideful for his own good he mustered up the courage to follow through. Eloise was shocked at first, she wasn’t used to this kind of wholehearted affection. Sammy had hoped she’d just shut up and take it so that they could keep playing in peace.
Oh if only he were so fortunate
Elly was now viciously determined to return the favor as she chased her bestest guy friend around the house. He tried hiding everywhere he could think of to escape her annoyingly confusing affection but she was like a pest, always where you don’t want her to be.
A video text popped up on both eavesdroppers’ phones, detailing the whole event.
“Those two seem pretty cute together don’t you think kitty?” Ladybug giggled
The look of disgust on Chat’s face was hysterical “She’s way too good for him. Her father would be furious”
“No question about that” She leapt up to the ledge beside him “Come on Alley cat, we have a lot more of the city to get to”
Chat wasn’t sure why seeing his sunshine chase Sammy around the house worked. Logically it should’ve put him in an even worse mood than before. And yet, his body felt a lot lighter, he felt himself focusing a little more. Somehow, in some way, seeing Elly chase around that little punk worked. He and his lady took a pause by the school to catch their breath and get a snack from one of the convenience stores. He was in such a good mood that he might even work up the nerve to talk about what was bothering him in the first place.
“G-GET AWAY FROM ME!”
But apparently that would have to wait for now.
Chat raced toward the screaming voice from the rooftops. He would’ve called for ladybug but she was still in the store and there was no time to wait. Whoever was in trouble sounded desperate and out of time.
He stalked up to the alley from above to get a better look, his electric green eyes glowing. He could see three men surrounding something apparently small, couldn’t tell what it was. Sliding silently down some pipes he inched closer to find out what the assholes were terrorizing.
His rage boiled over from his discovery
“Hey don’t be like that little girl we’re only looking for a little bit of fun. It’s not like you were going anywhere important.”
“Please let me go! I have to get back home. My mama and papa are waiting for me.”
This girl didn’t look much older than Eloise. With bruises all over her skin she coward against the brick wall. One of them crouched down and got in close
“Look here squirt, that’s the third time you’ve that piss poor line. Now my buddies and I really aren’t that scary. Haven’t you ever heard that american phrase ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover’? Well that applies to you too!” He snaked his hand over her thigh “So why don’t we just curl up with a good book-”
Concrete met face which met Chat’s size 9 steel tipped black leather clad boot
“It’s that fucking Chat Noir freak!!” one of the thugs announced. Another attempted to rush him with a steel pipe that broke off. He ducked, grabbed the criminals arm and flipped him right onto his back. Even with a third one sneaking up to land a blow to his head Chat smoothly leaned left, grabbed his sleeve and hurtled him into a group of trash cans.
His breath was hardly labored as all three lumbered up to take another shot at him
‘Come with it fuckers. I won’t let anyone else go through pain ever again.”
*Back with lil ol Ladybug*
“Chatooon! I got our snacks!” Ladybug called out “I even found these neat catnip ones, figured i’d teach you a few tricks!” all she received was nothing but the sound of running cars.
“Where’d he go? I thought I told him to stay”
The sound of painful grunts and thrown bodies coming from close by suddenly caught her attention. She groaned and ran to check it out.
“That better not be him” She grumbled “See, This is why we need the treats”
The scene was straight out of a horror flick
The young girl was fine but the guys that were harassing her...less so. The shorter, fat one was crumpled into in a heaving bloodied mess, his face quite acquainted with the brick wall. Another, pinned violently to the ground by Chat’s staff going through his shirt.
The last molester only prays that he were in their positions
“Fuck man let me go!” It was surprising that the man could even talk considering chat’s gloved hand was firmly surrounding his throat. By now the hero’s breath was shallow from exertion but it was like he had no off switch. This man had to pay for what he did and chat was so close. He could almost feel his claws touch.
‘Just a little tighter’ The voice in his head cooed ‘Or maybe just use a cataclysm, that would end it so quickly.’
A flash of red and black wrapped around his waist as Chat was yanked backwards by his lady’s yoyo. The man fell to the cold ground, swallowing desperately for air.
“Chat what the hell!?” Ladybug scolded “Did you even try to restrain yourself? These are civilians you maniac.”
He pulled hard against the restraints and clenched his fist “Civilians are human ladybug, these are worthless pests that tried to hurt someone who they thought was weak and defenseless”
A sigh passed through her lips “Be that as it may how do you think it’ll look when she sees you grinding these dudes into the pavement”
He froze in place. That hadn’t occurred to him during the fight. He cautiously looked over at her. There was no trace of fear in her eyes. But what was lurking behind those eyes hit him harder than any akuma.
Pity
As if all at once he was rushed with guilt. Even if these guys were the scum of the earth, bringing them to the brink of death would solve nothing. Why even bother?
“What’s wrong ya pussy?” A wheezing voice taunted “You really need some freak bitch like her to tell you what to do? You must be into some really freaky shit huh?”
Chat lurched forward only to be pulled back again “You keep talking jackass and I’m gonna forget just how much energy it takes to hold him back” Ladybug advised coldly
Adrien’s head was ringing too loud with too many thoughts. He had to escape. If he doesn’t...who knows who else he might harm.
Ladybug stumbled back when she felt the string snap. Without even a single clue on where he was going chat leapt up to the roof and sped off to wherever.
“Shit that’s not good” she sighed. Ladybug looked around the disaster and noticed all that chat left behind “Fuck that’s no better”
She was gonna get him back for all this but for the time being she had to play clean up crew (not that different from home actually)
The wind made his ears tingle as he leaned against the eiffel tower
Why did he go and beat those guys to a bloody mess? What about those assholes made it so easy for him to consider actual murder? It didn’t make any sense. He could’ve just scared them off and that would be the end of it.
His chest felt so tight. He knew perfectly well why. He just hoped that he wouldn’t have to admit it to himself.
‘She looked just like her’ he buried his head in his knees ‘Alone and afraid. Like she’s been through this pain before.’
Even as he looked over the glittering lights all he only saw the darkness in between them. How ironic. He’d always felt comfort in the shadows. It was somewhere to hide when the light began to overtake him. But now? Now it was like they were creeping in on him. Waiting for that perfect moment where he’d sink just low enough for them to drag him beyond any savior’s reach
Until a voice rang out to him
“I knew I’d find you sulking out here” Ladybug said expectantly.
Chat refused to even face her right now “I ran away to be alone you know”
“I do know but I don’t care. I’m not asking you to pour your heart out to me.” She knew he was feeling alone right now. So, even if he didn’t speak she didn’t mind just being another body beside him, filling the space.
They sat for a while in silence with nothing but 6 inches of space between them. He thought she’d read the air and leave. He truly did not want to have this conversation. He didn’t wanna face those dark thoughts all by himself.
*bzzt*
The buzzing of ladybug’s phone jolted him out of his funk. She quickly apologized and opened the message.
He could see her face contort into different expression. Confusion, laughter and even disgust at one point.
Chat felt so ignored ‘Uh, Hello?’ he fussed silently ‘I’m having a real inner turmoil over here! Questioning my legitimacy as a hero? ANYTHING!?’
Ladybug was straight up enthralled with whatever she was watching
‘I’m having an existential crisis...and she’s chuckling it up over a text...the fuck’
He craned his neck far to get a peek at this apparently quality content. She quickly caught onto his snooping and pressed her phone against her chest. He figured that would be the end of it and sighed in disappointment
‘Well at least maybe now she can-’
“Chat”
His tail straightened fully to attention “Y-yes my lady!”
Ladybug suddenly scooted up real close to him. His hairs stood on end in anticipation
“You wanted to know why you fought those dudes right? What you were doing it for?”
He nodded mechanically
She played the video displayed on her phone “If I had to guess. You did it for kids like her”
It was a video of Elly all dressed up for bed. She wore the cutest ‘I only wake up for breakfast” pajamas and clutched a stuffed black cat that he’d bought her.
“Alright Elly, how was your first sleepover?” Alya said
Eloise took a deep breath
“I had a super duper fun time! I got to listen to Uncle Nino’s music and dance with Sophie. We played lots of really fun games and I even got to talk about my favorite superhero Ladybug!”
“Is Ladybug your only favorite hero?”
Her face looked like it she had committed the greatest crime known to man
“Oh no, not at all!” Elly thrust the stuffed doll into the camera “I also really, really, REALLY love Chat Noir too! I think he’s really funny like my daddy!”
Chat’s face was turning redder than Ladybug’s suit he was so embarrassed by all the sweet compliments.
“Speaking of him, Wanna say goodnight honeybun?”
You could see Elly’s honey-gold pigtails bounce around wildly as she nodded her head
“So, I know that you’re probably out doing really cool adulty stuff but just make sure you go to bed at some point. Especially you mama! You look like an old lady when you wake up in the morning”
He snorted to suppress his laughter but didn’t notice Ladybug’s look of utter disgust that her daughter would oust her like that
“Anyway, I’m excited to see you tomorrow! Nighty night mama and papa, I love you!”
The screen went black as the video ended. She could see in the dim reflection Chat’s face turned up in a bashful smile. He leaned on her shoulder, his tail lazily yet happily swaying back and forth.
She was first to speak “Being a hero is a lot like being a parent. You work late hours because you spend all day enjoying your kid. Sometimes you have to handle massive temper tantrums and often there’s not a word of thanks for any of it.”
She stood up and look over all the peaceful people walking by
“But, If I know that there are kids like her out there who get to be as happy and safe as she is right now. Then I think that’s thanks enough, don’t you think mon minou?”
The tightness in his heart felt unbearable but it wasn’t from shame or guilt anymore. It was from pride.
This is what he was meant to be. A knight serving valiantly by his Lady’s side. Forever protecting the smiles of those who can’t.
He reached out for her hand…
But was immediately repelled by his own staff in his face
“Nice try you stray!  But I still haven’t forgiven you for ditching me when you threw your kitty hissyfit!”
He could barely speak because she was pressing it so hard into his cheek
“B-but bugaboo I was so conflicted in my emotions! I had to leave to protect you and those around me”
“Emotions my ass. Who had to be the one to yank your staff out of guy’s shirt, comfort a group of sniveling assholes that you weren’t going to kill them, and then ON TOP OF THAT, escort that little girl all the way home? Her parents insisted that I take all these sweets”
She took notice that his ears twitched at the sound of sweets ‘God he has a sweet tooth’
“I truly am sorry my lady, I’ll never do it again. What can I do to make it up to you?” He professed “andpotentiallygetoneofthosepastries” He finished much quicker.
“Hmm I wonder” she hummed passively. She took chat’s weapon from his face and crouched down to his face
“You know you’ve been a very bad kitty tonight, don’t you?” Her voice felt like it was drenched in seduction. His mind flashed back to the night he and his had that flirty chat session. He swallowed hard and nodded slowly.
“Very good. Now then, I think it’s time for you to learn a few tricks, don’t you?”
‘I have no idea where she’s going with this…but I’m gonna be the best pet she’s ever had’
She held out his staff, holding his gaze the whole time “Our first trick for the night, mon minou?”
He held his breath in anticipation…
“Fetch” She tossed his staff right down the tower
“…….what?”
“You have three minutes to retrieve the stick and bring it back to me, In your teeth of course. Succeed and you can have a treat. Fail?... I string you up by your tail till morning, secret identity be damned.”
Only unintelligible sounds came from his lips
“Aaaand start!” She exclaimed cheerily
Adrien had to skip morning classes the next day from how bad his body ached
“Mothy! You’re home!” Hawkmoth was starting to grow real annoyed with his newest akuma. He’d never had someone actually want to be akumatized before, so he took the risk and accepted her deal.
Had he known part of the deal would be her laying up on his couch all hours of the day, smoking on her 5th pack of cigarettes and constantly being just a general nuisance, he would’ve left her at that decaying apartment building they met up at.
“Have you captured the miraculous?” he responded coldly
Noemie let out an exasperated sigh. She peeled herself off the chic modern couch and swung her arms around his neck, pressing her mature body onto his “oh mothy, you worry far too much. These things take time, like our solid relationship”
“The only thing solid is that door that you will soon be on the other side of. Get my miraculous or leave my sight. I took you in on the chance that you might be worth my time. I would highly suggest that you don’t make me regret it.”
Noemie got off him and returned his icy stare with her
own “Pop quiz Hawky dear”
He raised his eyebrow in annoyed curiosity “What do all living things crave more than anything in the world?”
She didn’t give him the chance to answer “The answer is light. Take someone’s light and they kneel faster than a dollar store hooker”
The sound of heels striking tile rang loud in the open air “Next question, can I still obtain those miraculous however I see fit?”
“Hand them to me with the slightest imperfection and I snap your neck”
“Ooo talk dirtier to me daddy” she retorted
He turned and strode out the door, slamming it behind him “Hmph, can’t take a joke, can he?”
Getting comfortable again on the couch she switched on her phone to an image of Adrien, Marinette and little Eloise walking happily toward the bakery.
“Won’t be long now Elly. Hope you’ve been a good girl for mommy.

Mettaton Mettaton Mettaton!!
“Wow, you guys are, like, totally owning in there!” Catty said, pawing at the air playfully. Her handcuffs jingled. “I’m, like, SUPER surprised! I totally thought you guys were, like, HUGE losers!” She laughed cheerfully to herself.
“THANK YOU!” I posed, feeling proud. “IT’S OUR JOB, AFTER ALL!” Undyne frowned at the sweet compliment. She must have been embarrassed! How cute!
Since we had a bit more time in our recess, and a lot less spaghetti and bones to clean up, we figured this would be the perfect opportunity to get a bit more information out of our witness! The lobby was packed once again. I couldn’t help but notice that the audience’s tone had been shifting into a strange place more and more as the case went on.
“I’m so excited for the next act!” a bunny girl hopped, talking to her friend.
“Yes, it’s quite interesting. I actually thought this was a real court case for a while at the start.”
“Mettaton’s acting is sooo good! That skeleton and fish lady could use some lessons though, but whatever! Mettaton’s carrying the show!”
Ah, well, there’s no time for eavesdropping, though. I can’t say I understood what they were talking about, but that’s a mystery for another day!
“Catty, clear something up for us.” Undyne looked quite serious as she conversed with our client. More than a foot taller than the cat monster, she angled her head down, her red hair falling over her shoulder. “You knew Burgerpants well enough. Has he ever told you he had any enemies of the sort? Someone who wanted him dead?”
“GOOD QUESTION, UNDYNE,” I praised. “I SUPPOSE THESE ARE THE KIND OF QUESTIONS WE SHOULD HAVE ASKED HER BEFORE WE WENT THROUGH THIS TRIAL.”
“Ya, like, no kidding!” Catty said, pawing at Undyne’s hair.
“Okay! Yeah, I know! Look, anyway! Just… you got anything for us, Catty?” Undyne shifted her head from Catty’s paws as she spoke. “Even a rumor about Burgerpants might help us out.”
“I mean, like, I guess Burgerpants might have had a few people not like him…” She shook her head. “He didn’t have any enemies or friends either. He was, like, kinda weird! But he was also kinda cute! Like, ya know?”
“LIKE, DO WE KNOW, UNDYNE?”
“No.” Undyne sighed, gritting her teeth as she did so. “Do you got anything else for us? We’re trying to save you from being convicted.”
“Hmmm, oh! He did say something about wanting to be a star like Mettaton or something like that. Like, the guy was super weird about Mettaton, too! Can you believe he didn’t even have a poster of him? Soooo weird!”
Undyne blinked. “Wait, back up a second. He didn’t like Mettaton? He told you that?”
“Uhhhh, he told, like, everybody!” Catty scoffed. “Anybody who’s anybody gets a glamburger and another of his life stories.”
“IS THAT THE STANDARD FARE WITH A GLAMBURGER PURCHASE?”
“No duh!”
Now, to be fair, I wasn’t sure how this would help our case in any way! Burgerpants not having any kind of social life was totally irrelevant! And the fact that he was badmouthing Mettaton didn’t paint our client in the nicest light! But I am sure he was a swell guy.
“Court is back in session! ;)” winked a voice from the courtroom’s double-doors.
“Damn, that was barely a half hour.” Undyne tugged at her collar, seething at every monster passerby. I should cheer her up!
“DON’T WORRY, UNDYNE! I’M SURE WE WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE TO TURN THIS CASE UPSIDE DOWN AND DO A FULL 360! I BELIEVE IN THE BOTH OF US!”
“Heh, yeah, you’re right.” There was that familiar, predatory, kinda scary grin from Undyne! “Although it’d have to be something crazy though…”
“Now, my dear darlings and gentledarlings! If this isn’t truly conclusive evidence, then I don’t know what is!”
Back in the crowded courtroom, I was reminded of the new evidence about our client. The pink nail was sparkling within the palm of Mettaton’s hand, almost accusing in its very existence.
“so, uh, what’s so conclusive about it?” Sans asked rather sensibly, then ruined it as he shrugged and said, “cuz i ain’t able to draw any conclusions from it.”
Instead of being rightfully offended, Mettaton explained his reasoning, which I suppose was part of his job. “While I must say Catty has some impeccable taste regarding her manicures – no tearing, an even file, and such a fine coat of nail polish with three layers, very good – this all but points to her as the true culprit to this crime! Even more so than it already has!”
The court gallery oohed and awed at Mettaton’s speech, me included! I felt Undyne jab me in the ribs.
“Papyrus, come on!”
“IT IS A VERY EXQUISITE LOOKING NAIL THOUGH.”
“That’s hardly important.”
“While it may not seem like it is important, this speaks of the impeccable taste of customers who frequently visit the esteemed MTT Nail and Salon Studio! Just the nail varnish alone tells us of its beauty!”
“Objection!” Undyne shouted, planting a boot against the counter. “How do we even know that’s from MTT?”
“Why, darling, it’s trademarked right here.”
I squinted my eye sockets quite vigorously and there! The trademarked symbol was wedged into the very corner of the nail.
Sans wasn’t even looking in the nail’s direction, but was nodding his skull listlessly. “checks out then.”
This, I soon began to realize, did not bode well for our case. And it had looked bad enough already!
“The true killer had these nails on while they decided to commit their nefarious deed. It was found just inches away from Burgerpants’ dust. And so, as they say in show business, that’s a wrap, beauties and gentlebeauties!”
Wow! This really wasn’t good at all!
“CATTY,” I inquired of our client. “DO YOU GO TO MTT SALON A LOT?”
“Well, duh! I go there like, all the time!” She pawed at her black hair, keeping it down.
“BUT, DON’T YOU, LIKE, HAVE NO MONEY?”
“Ya, but my MTT husband always lets me in, right?”
The robot celebrity answered with robotic grace. “Oh honey, darling, we welcome all customers from every path of life… and with that being said, unless you pay off your previous beauty sessions, we can no longer accept your patronage.”
I could see Undyne frowning quite heavily but also… confused? She was gnawing at a sharp nail of hers, her fangs giving her a manicure of their own! So that was the secret to her talons of justice!
Still, I had to pay attention to the case at hand. “CATTY, WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU DO AT THIS SALON?”
“I get, like, the best coats around! Like, I even use that same shade right here!” Catty held up her paw to be scrutinized. Pink claws topped it off, all lavishly painted with the trademarked MTT logo. Could this really mean that-
“Paps, wait a minute.” Undyne gripped my arm, eye narrowed. “Isn’t it kinda weird though?”
“HM?” I swiveled my skull to her. “I AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN.”
“Mettaton had investigated the area before and found Burgerpants’ dust. But why didn’t the dogi come across the nail the first time around?”
I pondered on this dilemma. “PERHAPS THEY JUST MISSED IT?”
“Possible, but it’s only been less than an hour since they left to go back. And just like that, they find some new evidence that Sans wanted.” Undyne narrowed her eye, her voice low. “That’s really convenient, isn’t it?”
That did seem a bit suspicious. And Mettaton, fabulous entertainer that he was, didn’t seem like he would want to waste his resources... unless he knew he’d get something in return. As if he predicted how this case would go! Could he have been holding onto this informati-
Wait a minute! I took another look at her claws.
“OF COURSE. HER CLAWS!”
“so you got something to say about her claws?” Sans interrupted. Oh, I must have spoken out loud again.
I straightened my tie and grinned wide. It was my most intimidating pose, one that was sure to have the prosecution on its knees! (Metaphorically speaking).
“THERE IS A CONTRADICTION IN THE PROSECUTION’S STATEMENT. THE EVIDENCE PRESENTED TO US ARE THE NAILS FROM MTT SALON, AND THE VERY FACT THAT THEY WERE AT THE CRIME SCENE PROVES-” Here I pointed most assuredly at Mettaton. “THAT THE CULPRIT WHO WORE SUCH NAILS HAD TAKEN PART IN SUCH A CRIME.”
Everyone hushed at the sheer power of my speech! I was a really good lawyer!
“Yes, darling, that is exactly what I just said a moment ago.” Mettaton shook his finger at me, chuckling as he did so. “Although I am quite glad that you have ceded your defeat to me and my irrefutable evidence!”
Yes! I nodded with Mettaton’s statement, until I felt another jab from Undyne. Wait, no!
I pointed at him once more, the sheer force of it enough to blow away all lies and deception! Mettaton was still standing, but he was made of metal, so that was to be expected. “BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT CATTY HAS CLAWS AND NOT NAILS! AND IF THE PROSECUTION RELIES ON THAT EVIDENCE, THEN THAT MEANS THAT CATTY, BY THAT LOGIC, IS IRREFUTABLY INNOCENT!”
I heard the crowd gasp at such amazing logic. And what’s more, Mettaton was speechless?! He made no attempt to counter my argument.
“Nice going, Paps.” Undyne grinned, then faced the robot. “What? Nothing left to say, punk?”
It was quite strange, actually. Mettaton had his hands placed together, as if deep in thought. The lights of his chassis blinked intermittently. His face was completely unreadable – well, more unreadable than it was before.
“Very well done, my darlings. Very well done.” Mettaton clapped slowly. “To think that you have deduced such a fact in so little time speaks volumes of how you may not be so completely inept after all!”
“WOWIE! THANK YOU!”
His lights blinked again. “That wasn’t a compli- you know what, forget it.”
“Papryus!” Another jab in my side. Undyne could really just tap my shoulder if she wanted my attention. “Take another good look at that nail.”
I did so, seeing it displayed on the evidence table in the middle of the courtroom. The ceiling lights made the brilliant shade of pink sparkle. It was quite a beautiful color! One could not expect less from the MTT Brand! But that’s beside the point. Undyne was being very adamant that I look at it closely.
“YES, UNDYNE. IT IS, INDEED, A NAIL. I THOUGHT WE CLEARED THAT UP EARLIER.”
“Not that. Look, Paps. Do you know of any monster who actually has nails?”
Well. Hm. It indeed was quite hard to recall any of my friends as having nails, instead of claws, appendages, tentacles, and other horrible forms of nature. And I have many friends!
“They’re human-type nails,” Undyne told me helpfully.
“OH? DO YOU MEAN THE CULPRIT WAS A HUMAN?”
“No, because the thing is, the nail is coated in magic, too. And no humans today use magic, least not like us.”
Wowie! This was a lot to ponder! I scrunched my skull in thought, but no answer was forthcoming! “SO IT MUST STILL BE A MONSTER THEN? BUT IF NO MONSTER HAS NAILS, THEN JUST WHO COULD IT EVEN BE?”
“Easy.” And then Undyne grinned so triumphantly, it revealed more fangs of hers than I thought possible. “What other monster has human-like hands?”
Instantly, I turned away from her to look over at this courtroom’s prosecutor. Specifically, at the hands he kept folded before his face/body.
Gasp!! Of course! “OBJECTION!”
Sans stared from his podium. “uh, no one was saying anything.”
“EXCUSE ME! I WAS OBJECTING TO THE FABULOUS PROSECUTOR FOR STANDING THERE MENACINGLY!”
“Now, darling, no need to be so discriminatory.” Mettaton gave a fabulous twirl on his wheel, sparkles flying from him in exquisite grace. “This is just how I stand.”
“EXCUSE ME! I WAS OBJECTING TO THE PROSECUTOR’S FABULOUS HANDS!”
“They truly are quite fabulous, I agree.” Mettaton deigned to show off his gloved hands to the crowd, who oohed and aahed at such a sight. I was impressed too!
But that wasn’t the point! “I WANT TO GO FURTHER IN MY DEDUCTIONS OVER THE NAIL THAT THE PROSECUTOR BROUGHT TO THIS COURTROOM.”
“Do you now?” Mettaton placed those hands against each other again, each fingertip in perfect symmetry to its twin.
“NO MONSTER WOULD HAVE SUCH NAILS, AS WE MUST ALL KNOW. NO MONSTER – EXCEPT ONE THAT WE ALL KNOW FAIRLY WELL.” I pointed once more at the celebrity robot. “YOU, METTATON, HAVE THE MEANS TO ACCESS SUCH NAILS AT ANY TIME, DO YOU NOT?”
Mettaton was acting surprisingly calm about all this. He didn’t even try to deny what my question implied. “Why, of course. As lead creative director and visionary for the MTT Brand, I keep track of all my subsidies and business ventures. Always finding new and innovative ways to keep MTT the #1 brand in the world!”
“AND WITH YOUR CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE VICTIM, TOO, YOU ALSO HAD MOTIVE, DID YOU NOT?”
“Nothing of the sort! My job for him was basically charity, after all!” Mettaton laughed uproariously. “Even if employing him did cost our company some money with his constant mistakes, I cared for Burgerpants as if he were one of my own!”
I prepared myself to ask him another question, but Undyne took over, slamming a fist onto the desk.
“Ngaah! This is taking too long! Mettaton! It was you who killed Burgerpants, wasn’t it?”
The crowd talked and shouted frantically at the accusation. I wished Undyne had waited for me. I was getting to that part after the build-up I was creating!
“hey, you guys.” Sans said from his bench, his tone more serious then I usually heard from him. “that’s a uh, pretty serious accusation you got there. got any evidence to back that up?”
“We will very soon.” Undyne turned from Sans to Mettaton. “You know, Mettaton, if your hands are so fabulous, why don’t you ever show it off, huh?” She placed her boot on the desk again, nearly splintering it. “Come on, take off the gloves!”
“YEAH!” I joined in excitedly. “TAKE IT ALL OFF!”
Mettaton fanned himself with those hands. “Oh my.” He turned around on his single wheel, facing my brother. “Do you hear this, Your Honor? They are so desperate that they have now resorted to pinning me, the prosecution, as the killer! Must this farce go on?”
Sans stared at all of us for a moment, which I would be generous in saying that he was deep in thought and had not fallen asleep once again. With his sharp grin aimed at Mettaton, he shrugged. “i mean, i guess they have evidence and motive or whatever.
“…I’m sorry, you guess?” Mettaton’s voice crackled ever so slightly.
“yeah.” Sans leaned back in his chair, arms behind his head. “you gonna do something about it?”
“Actually…” Mettaton slowly turned back to us, his wheel doing a perfect half-circumference. He stood in the middle of the courtroom, the spotlights focused on him and him only. “I think I will.”
Then, with astounding grace and in an extremely loud voice that even matched my own, Mettaton posed, suddenly bringing out a microphone as the letters MTT glowed above him from dazzling lights. Wowie! This courtroom really pulls out all the stops!
“OHH YESS! Time to give the audience what they’ve been waiting for!” The center spotlight shut off. Smoke seeped out from the fog machines that were suddenly there, giving the whole courtroom a truly suspenseful feel to it. “Are you ready, beauties and gentlebeauties? Because now…”
The center spotlight turned on again, and the box-shaped Mettaton was replaced by a truly remarkable specimen! Incredible! I could barely contain myself! It would be impossible to truly describe the grandeur that was Mettaton’s beauty, but I must at least try!
Long legs were placed on the floor, topped with a metal human torso. Mettaton’s face was now a wonderful visage, with hair even! Smooth and supple metal skin! Beautiful bishoujo eyes that I have always wanted but could never have! Mettaton EX always brought in the crowds with his limitless talent and far-off sexiness! Incredible! Amazing!!
“Papyrus, why are you sweating so much?” Undyne asked me.
“METTATON IS SO COOL, UNDYNE.”
“Please.”
With a lustrous sigh, Mettaton stood within the center of the courtroom, gesturing to the crowd with pure benevolence. “Well, I am now here, ready to take on these filthy, debased, absolutely horrible accusations you have flung upon me!”
He placed the back of his gloved hand against his forehead. The crowd simply went wild – and so was our client, who was trying to paw at him from a distance of twenty feet away. “But rest assured, my fellow attorneys, I’ll be sure to make the last dying breaths of your pathetic careers…”
Hands out, face upturned to the spotlight, glitter all over his curvaceous body, he truly became a fabulous star just then! “Absolutely beautiful!”
“Papyrus, don’t you dare clap.”
I felt hurt at Undyne’s tone. “BUT SUCH SHOWMANSHIP MUST BE APPRECIATED, UNDYNE.”
“That’s not important right now!”
A snore erupted from the judge’s podium. Sans looked around blearily, eye sockets focused on the new and improved Mettaton. “oh,  what’d i miss?”
“No more stalling!” Undyne held out a spear, its turquoise glow radiating from it, shining on Mettaton’s face. “I already asked you before. Take off the gloves! Show us that you’re really innocent!”
Ah, that’s right! The star I had looked up to might just be a cold-blooded killer! Or a no-blooded killer, to be more accurate. “PLEASE TELL US THE TRUTH, METTATON. DID YOU COMMIT THIS CRIME?”
Mettaton turned his head, revealing his Greek god-like features to the masses. The crowd cheered ecstatically! Cameras were flashing everywhere! And me without my makeup!
“Again, such ridiculous slander! These lies will do horrors to my complexion! And yours!” His arms extended, one finger from each hand poking at both mine and Undyne’s faces. I was going crazy! Mettaton touched me!! Undyne didn’t look too happy about it, and tried to bite off Mettaton’s fingers. Please, Undyne! Not in front of my possibly murderous hero!
“Even if I wore the nails, why should that matter? I loved Burgerpants with all my soul, giving him a job when no one else would at our fabulous MTT Emporium, with low, low prices for the best fast food around! Right now with a sale of buy one Glamburger, get another one free! Don’t dawdle and get your share, my beauties!”
“hey, uh, is advertising allowed in here?” Sans asked his baliff.
Aaron peered through a book titled ‘COURTROOM TIPZ MADE EASY.’ “Checks out, judge. ;)”
“ok.” Sans leaned back, glad to have that settled apparently.
“And still, why would I ever hurt my darling Burgerpants? Such a model…” Mettaton paused, tapping a finger against those exquisite cheeks. “Well, he was an employee. And he was my employee. I could never dust away such a fabulous monster.”
“Why would you hurt him? Probably for the same reason he’s called Burgerpants to begin with!” Undyne was on a roll! She practically glowed with justice! “You killed what’s-his-face because of company merchandise he kept stealing from you! Your MTT burgers!”
At that, Mettaton did not have a ready answer. He placed a finger against his metal-fashioned lips, humming his robotic tune. “Well, I cannot deny that. Burgerpants was always quite a grabby cat.” He shrugged, bringing a wave of even more entrancing sparkles. “Still, that does not dissuade my fondness for him, may his soul rest in peace.”
“You know what? Fine then.” Undyne shrugged in turn. What could this mean? “Maybe you truly cared about Burgerpants… but did Burgerpants care about you?”
Mettaton’s face twitched. It was really hard to miss. “And how would you know a thing like that?”
“Well, according to my client here, everybody knows!” Undyne laughed, slapping her knee as she did so. “Anybody who went to MTT Emporium knows how much Burgerpants hated your metal guts!”
“OH YEAH!” I joined her. “APPARENTLY, AFTER YOU BUY A GLAMBURGER, HE’S QUITE SUSCEPTIBLE TO QUESTIONS.”
“Yeah, he was a real pushover. And nobody pushed him over more than Mettaton!”
The fabulous Mettaton crossed his arms, face upturned. “Surely this goes against court conduct, to insult such a distinguished prosecutor! Strike their comments from the court record this instant!”
“No!” Undyne asserted herself even more. “This is important. It was common knowledge that Burgerpants detested Mettaton, wanting to be a star on his own, but his boss kept getting in the way.” She turned to the court gallery, at all the monsters seated there. “Right? Have any of you heard him groan about something every day?!”
“Yeah, he kept telling me his burger story…” one flame girl said softly, seated near the front rows.
“He told me he didn’t get why people liked Mettaton so much…” spoken by a cute little mouse monster, leaning over the upper balconies.
“Like, bro was totally majorly bummed out by Mettaton…” spoke a bunny monster, heavily decked out in a pinstripe suit and hat as he stood by the courtroom doors in a suspicious manner.
“ye, and he totally skimped out on the salt for my fries.”
“Your Honor?!” Mettaton turned to Sans, shock on his beautiful face. “…He served you your food wrong?”
Sans shrugged, looking half-asleep as he always did. “uh huh. no big deal though. they still tasted-”
“The nerve of that Burgerpants!” Mettaton clenched his hands, electricity sparking all over his body. “I’m glad then! I’m ecstatic! I should have gotten rid of him earlier!”
Silence choked the entire courtroom, shock written plainly on every face.
Wowie. I didn’t think we’d get him so quickly. Also he’s guilty! This made me quite depressed.
“So you admit it then?” Undyne placed both hands on the table, slapping them down. “You killed Burgerpants! And you tried to pin the crime on Catty!”
Mettaton faced her, his eyes shining dangerously. “Maybe I did! Or maybe I didn’t! Who cares? When people slander you, must that go unpunished? Must the world be so unfair and cruel!? Sometimes things must be done! So what if a few people have to die!?” He spread out his arms, the electricity sparking even more than before. “That’s show business, baby!”
The light was blinding. Even for me! And I don’t even have eyes! Everyone had to turn away, waiting for the light to finally dim. When we all turned back to center floor, Mettaton was still there – but even more fabulous than before.
I’m sorry, notepad, I had to take a minute to regain my bearings. But! Mettaton! Let me try to describe the vivid image before me!
Wings of pure light and energy stuck out of his back. His right arm ended in a cannon, his body glowed with magical energy. He was tall, godly, and sensational! His left eye shimmered with a hidden power that threatened to overwhelm everyone’s existence! Here was the famed Mettaton NEO! I had only heard it spoken of in legend!
Pointed boots stomped the floor, cracking it under the pressure. “Yes! It was me! I killed the doomed Burgerpants! I orchestrated this whole courtroom debacle to further promote my brand! I am the star of this show! And the villain!”
“SO IT’S TRUE!” I could not believe it. That my own hero was capable of such a bad guy act! “YOU KILLED BURGERPANTS AND TRIED TO PIN YOUR CRIME ON AN INNOCENT.”
Mettaton laughed – a truly villainous laugh that spoke of all evil. “That’s right, darling. And you’ve seen through my nefarious plan! I couldn’t suffer through Burgerpants’ bad-mouthing anymore! So with my new manicure, I set out to exterminate him myself!”
The crowd went wild again! They were cheering and chanting Mettaton’s name, which I don’t really think is what you’re supposed to do for a murderer. But, perhaps this is just a new trend these days.
“My fabulous nails speak for themselves!” He held out the hand that wasn’t a gun, continually laughing. “You may convict me now, but you’ll never destroy the legend, the wonder, that is me! Trademarked by the MTT Brand-”
“WAIT A MOMENT.” I held up my hand. Something… something didn’t seem quite right about this. “ABOUT YOUR HAND. MAY YOU SHOW IT US?”
“You’re looking at it, darling!”
“NO. WITHOUT THE GLOVE.” I nodded. “THEN WE CAN FINALLY GET THIS SETTLED.”
“Oh.” Mettaton looked at his left hand, then back at me. Then back at his hand. “Um, right. Of course!”
We all waited, but he didn’t move a muscle. Undyne tapped her foot impatiently.
“No need to rush beauty, dear!” Still Mettaton looked at his hand, seeming to be annoyed. I thought I heard him say something close to cursing, but surely my skeletal ears deceive me!
“Hurry up!”
“Well, I can’t!” Mettaton NEO yelled back, losing his composure for once. “My gloves are part of my body! I can’t take it off!”
Undyne blinked her lone eye, then narrowed. “What.”
“If you haven’t noticed, darling, I’m a robot. And robots don’t exactly have nails either! And none of my forms give me nails, though I would certainly love some!” He sighed theatrically. “I could then experience the wonders of my salons for myself.”
“Wait, if this isn’t your nail….” Undyne gestured at him. “Then whose is it?”
“No, it’s still mine, darling. Just a sample from my special nail line, specially fitted for the human side of the market.” Mettaton flipped his hair as he spoke, or tried to since it was also metal. “But I had to rev up the promotion for this product, and what better way to than to showcase it for a murder trial? The first monster murder trial of its kind?!”
“…Plenty of other ways really,” Undyne deadpanned.
“Well, I’m not hearing any ideas.”
“Okay, well there’s magazine advertising-”
A spark fizzed at Mettaton NEO’s shoulder, making him sputter. “T-that is one of the most unexciting-”
“A television infomercial – just put in an hour slot and you’re ready to sell anything by then.”
Another spark. His wings faltered, and dimmed.
“Heck, you could even take out a flyer and just mail it to people! People would see it plenty-”
“That’s. Incredibly.” Mettaton NEO raised his head to the spotlight. “CHEAP!”
The light glowed bright again. I tried not to turn away this time, but it was too much! I even started to cry at the tragedy of it all! So much beauty now snuffed out like a flame!
In NEO’s place, box-shaped Mettaton stood, a little worse for wear, but still upright. He had a microphone in his hand again, and faced Undyne down. “Well, that was quite a show. I’d give an encore, but I’ve pushed myself to the limit this time!”
“Wait, hold on! What about the crime scene?” Undyne yelled. “And your confession! And the evidence!”
Mettaton waved away her questions with little care. “Oh, I just planted that nail there! I had hoped your investigation would have picked it up, but of course being such amateur lawyers that you are, I had to order a re-scan of the crime scene myself.” He sighed. “To pick up where my co-stars slacked off in, this is not how it should be done!”
“You planted fake evidence?!” Undyne looked livid.
“Yes, and I do dearly apologize.” Mettaton nodded, sighing so loud and dramatic that his voicebox whirred with the emotion. “But this court trial needed a little spice. No real harm done.”
“Isn’t that illegal!?”
Looking from Undyne to Sans, I asked, “IS IT?”
“uh, yeah, kinda.” Sans then addressed Mettaton. “you uh, probably don’t wanna do that again.”
“Truly, I understand that. Truly I do! But what kind of dramatic trial would this be without such a shocker twist? Already the ratings are going off the charts!” Mettaton pointed to his right, where a giant television screen was propped on the wall. When did that get there??? But indeed, the ratings were skyrocketing right off the charts, the bright red lines leaving the television to crash through the roof of the courtroom.
Sans blinked lazily at the property damage happening before him. “huh, can’t argue with that. that plot point really brought the house down.” Tiles kept falling all around him, missing his skull by mere inches. My brother was quite lucky he didn’t get hurt!
“Not only does this bring more attention to the glamorous MTT brand, but to your own court system, Your Honor!” Mettaton held up a book to my brother’s face, just… shoving it up to his eyesockets. “As you can see, the monster judicial system, along with this courthouse, is already proving to be a hit among today’s youth. Why, with a little more sprucing up the -ahem- decorum around here, and a few well-placed snack bars around the lobbies, this trial can raise up your profits like never before!”
Sans, still with the book in his face, gave a thumbs-up. “cool.”
“Fabulous! With your confirmation, I will now set up the promotional material to the courthouse. First, we definitely should change the dreadful logo to something with much more sparkle to it-”
“Hey!” Undyne flipped over the already half-cracked table, upsetting both paper and bones all over the place. (I had set them up on that table so neatly too!) “Aren’t you forgetting something, lead-brain? We still have a trial going on!”
Mettaton wagged a finger at Undyne. “Tsk, of course I didn’t forget, darling. In fact, this changes nothing as Catty is still as guilty as day! After much work, I ask our judge to deliver a verdict as soon as possible! Surely we all want to go home and go back to our fabulous lives!”
Sans had his face laying on one hand. Each moment, his skull threatened to slip off his bony palm and hit the table. “well, if there’s nothing else, might as well get this over with.”
“Wait a second!” Undyne pounded her boot against the ground, sending rolling tremors through the courtroom. “We can’t- we can’t let it end here!”
“so you got some objections?”
“Yeah!”
“okay, let’s hear it.”
Now, I believed that my best friend could help prolong this situation more than anyone! But I could also see that my brother was asking for something here… something that I don’t think Undyne would be able to see.  He wanted a specific answer! After looking at our client and my fuming partner, I decided I had to step in! I really hope Undyne won’t be too mad about it!
“YOUR MAJESTY!” I boomed out the best lawyerly voice one ever heard! I even made Undyne start at the sound! I must really sound impressive! “ALL PRESENTED EVIDENCE BEFORE US IS CIRCUMSTANTIAL, AND THE PROSECUTION’S STUNTS FOR FAME AND GLORY HAS DE-RAILED THIS TRIAL MORE THAN NECESSARY. THE DEFENSE REQUESTS AN ADDITIONAL DAY FOR FURTHER QUESTIONING AND INVESTIGATION.”
Sans stared at me for a moment, then shrugged. “hey, sounds reasonable. what do ya think, metts?”
Mettaton didn’t get angry at the announcement, surprisingly. He only tsked tsked some more, wheeling away from the room. “Anyone and everyone can see how the defense is trying to stall for more time. But! This will give me the space I need to give this courtroom the makeover it deserves! So yes, the prosecution has no objections to this request.”
“alright, cool.” Sans faced the whole of the courtroom again, which was paying attention more to the leaving Mettaton than anything else. “we’ll come back tomorrow to ride this baby out. same time, same place, heh.” He banged his gavel, or…(I have to legitimately sigh here, excuse me) farted his gavel, so to speak. “court on hold and whatever.”
I let out a deep breath I did not know I was holding. Or that I could even do so in the first place! I felt Undyne clap against my back, dangerously close to breaking my spine but that was okay! “Quick thinking there, Paps!”
“OF COURSE. THE GREAT LAWYER PAPYRUS WILL ALWAYS BE THERE TO PROLONG THE CASE MORE THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. NYEH-HEH-HEH!” But, it was hard to stay focused on the moment. I watched as Mettaton went through his crowd of adoring fans in the gallery, blowing robotic kisses and signing autographs even! I realized suddenly! This was my one chance!
“Papyrus, are you really going to ask him for his autograph after the hell he put us through?”
“BUT UNDYNE. THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY. I MAY NEVER GET THIS CHANCE AGAIN.”
“We literally just saw him last week. We know where he works. We could actually get it anytime-”
“NYEEEEEHHHH!”
“Okay, fine! Geez! Just go!”
The courtroom emptied as if it was one long breath. Monsters shoved their way to the front doors, dropping their valuables in a frantic attempt to grasp Mettaton’s shiny and sparkling hands. Sans looked at it all through drowsy eyes, snoring softly, despite the fact that he wasn’t actually asleep.
Heh, that bro of his could read him like a book sometimes. Good thing, too.
And hey, speaking of books…
His baliff was already gone as well, leaving Sans truly alone with the caved in roof and the glitter that speckled the walls. But he paid no attention to that, instead his gaze drawn to a certain item on the cracked marble floors.
It was a notepad. His bro’s notepad, actually.
Suddenly the notepad was placed before his judge’s podium. Its cover was decorated with many buff pictures of Papyrus in his detective hat – and his lawyer suit. Some good drawings there, Sans could learn or thing or two from him.
His bro would really miss this thing. Or would he? He had plenty of other notepads with him, all of them shoved up in his coat sleeves, along with aces and extra bones. Just one shouldn’t make such a big difference.
“oh well,” Sans said, leaning against his chair as he held up the notepad, feet propped on the desk before him. “finders keepers.”
