Hah, this makes me shy lol. Please bare with me.

Anyways, welcome to the blog!

Recently, I’ve been overcome with this gut feeling that I should finally launch this blog. I’ve been writing for years now, but I’ve always been so shy with social media, expressing personal self, and showcasing writings. So, I never really had the courage to post.

But, as apart of my new years resolution, I will let it all go and express myself like how I wanted to within the last few years. I am excited, nervous, and slightly razzled by the fact that I’m really going through with this. But I am ready.

A little about what I intend to post:

This will primarily be a BTS blog. Though I love every member, the majority of my writings are y/n scenarios with Namjoon, Yoongi, or Jungkook. I have writings for everyone; however, i tend to feel more confident with my writings with the prior three boys.

I do write 18+ scenarios, so adults only!! My writings will also always be female x male, not because I am against pairings with other genders, but because that is what I am most used to writing and am more familiar with. Still, if you identify as any other, you are always welcome to read. I intend to keep this space as a strict respectful zone to all people.

Another disclaimer: I do not own BTS or anyone else I choose to incorporate in my writings. I write with them in interest as apart of a fictional story — as a face and personality that is unique to them (in real life and in a story) — but never to disrespect, alter, or manipulate to fit my or others standards. Their respect comes with the respect of anyone else.

Now for formatting, here is how I will organize my writings in post:

A little about me:

Hi!

You can call me Sae, if you’d like.

I am a double-major, third-year university student! I do take Korean there! It has been just about a year and a half since I started learning it, and I love it to the core. It is really such a beautiful language and culture, and I am so glad I went through with taking it. I could talk about it for hours!

As for BTS, I have been a fan since I was in 8th grade…so 2015-2016? My first ever bias was Taehyung…ofc lol. However, I have been a Yoongi bias since around 2017-ish. Bias wrecker? I bet you can’t guess…Namjoon and Jungkook. Unfortunately or fortunately (however you view it), BTS was the only group I was able to fully get into and know. I love and listen to other groups like TXT, EXO, ATEEZ, Red Velvet, TWICE, etc. But I never got fully into them to the extent I did BTS.

As for other fics or posts you might see around here, I am a hard-core weeb. So, you might see some anime character’s on here. However, with a recent off-the-bandwagon mishap since entering uni, it has been quite a while since I have even watched a show. I intend to get back into it. We will see where life takes me.

So, yeah! I hope you like what I end up posting! Feedback is always appreciated. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Hey Everyone I’m Saddie! I’m an avid music lover and through my shuffle adventures on youtube, I’ve become a Kpop fan. It’s been about 10 years since my eyes laid upon the masterpiece known as Growl (by Exo). The second band I came across was VIXX. I don’t know what that says about me but take that into account. Meet Simone Lou

Hello, I’m Simone Lou, mainly go by Lou! nice to meet you. I’m 21 years old, an INFP, bisexual, non-binary(they/she), and somewhat of a new writer here on tumblr, loubouskz, and music lover. I’ve been writing since I was 13, starting on the app wattpad writing about TWD(The Walking Dead), so I’ve had a little practice. XD I mainly write in first person and in lowercase because it feels right.

My start into kpop: I was 11, turning 12 when I found kpop, but I didn’t understand it was kpop, something in a different language. I just knew I liked the songs I was hearing. the song was I Got A Boy by SNSD in 2013. I liked it so much that I made a playlist and added more kpop songs over the years every time something new would pop up in the suggested feed when I watched SNSD. I fully got into kpop on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day when it was coming 2018 with BTS preforming Mic Drop. BTS are the ones who pulled me into this world and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

I currently stan Stray Kids, BTS, Twice, (G)I-dle, Ateez, Stayc, Itzy, Shinee, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, and recently I’ve been forced into 2 new groups - Victon and Pentagon(help). and I stan a few soloists, like Jessi, Psy, Hyolyn, Bobby, Chungha as well. I casually listen to other artists but I don’t stan so yeah. :)) I’ll genuinely listen to anything and most of the time I like the music I hear. I just love it, I just makes me happy.

you should check out stray kids! they’re a new group, i don’t think they’ve even really debuted yet but the music video for a song called hellevator is out and boi is it good! the rappers are so so talented (i mean the singers are too but i’m a sucker for good rappers) and wow it’s just a really good debut song

Kpop Groups the Sakamakis and Mukamis + Yui Would Stan

gonna be completely honest i only stan bts and ateez but i listen to other groups too-

I don't know enough about the Tsukinamis and Kino, so they're not gonna be included, though I can only assume Shin's taste would be on par with Ayato's and Subaru's.

Shu:

Doesn't listen to kpop that much, if at all

Probably only watches gg mvs because of the girls

That being said, I could see him at least knowing BLACKPINK because he watched the boombaya mv once

Probably listens to orchestral versions of kpop songs, though. No groups in particular, but there's a lot of orchestral versions of bts' discography on his playlist

Would definitely relate to Yoongi on a spiritual level

Reiji:

Because of @pastelpurplekeqing I cannot see him as NOT being a hardcore ONCE

Doesn't own any albums because he doesn't wanna be bullied by his brothers, but actively streams mvs

Is probably a TWICE solo stan but listens to other group's songs as well

I can see him liking some BTS songs like Black Swan, Fake Love, or BS&T

Doesn't listen to boy groups that often but likes a few certain songs by whichever groups he feels like that day

Ayato:

He only listens to the baddest of groups with songs that can hype him up

Or girl groups sometimes, probably just ggs like BLACKPINK or Mamamoo

Big EXO-L, they were the group that got him into Kpop (vibes every day to Tempo and Monster)

Likes a lot of 2nd gen music and groups, especially Big Bang

I can see him stanning ATEEZ and Stray Kids too

Knows a bunch of choreography, sometimes he and Kou learn dances together

Laito:

Doesn't listen to Kpop that much but thinks the female idols are pretty

Among other things

Definitely liked AOA songs (specifically Miniskirt and Like A Cat), absolutely knows the choreography

Doesn't stan groups but has a bias towards Aespa and TWICE

Likes solo artists like Sunmi and HyunA

Doesn't listen to boy groups unless he's around Subaru and Ayato in which those are the only groups those mfs really listen to

Kanato:

Hardcore Red Velvet stan, used the family credit card to buy albums, constantly streaming, has watched every single fancam out there

The biggest Stay you will ever meet. Has listened to Stray Kids' entire discography, owns a few albums and has a bunch of posters, owns the light stick, knows most of their choreography, etc

But he'll deny it with anyone but Ayato (they bond over Stray Kids)

Listens to God's Menu religiously, firmly believes Stray Kids has absolutely no bad songs

Only actually stans Stray Kids but listens to other groups like Ateez, Monsta X, and Dreamcatcher (he likes Dreamcatcher a lot)

Secretly listens to snsd

Ruki:

Would not know what Kpop even is if it wasn't for Kou and doesn't actively go out of his way to listen to any groups

Probably listens to the BTS Wings album on occasion but that's it (likes Namjoon because of his UN speech)

He knows the names of every single member of every group his brothers stan so he knows what the hell they're talking about

Feeds Kou's and Azusa's obsessions and watches weekly episodes with them

Kou:

Probably the biggest multistan on the list. Prefers girl groups, but stans a lot of boy groups too

His favorite groups are TWICE, Red Velvet, BLACKPINK, (g)i-dle, Mamamoo, Aespa, BTS, ONEUS, Seventeen, and he's getting into ATEEZ and Stray Kids

Can not for the life of him choose an Ult group or bias

Probably the most supportive stan as well when it comes to streams and merch (though he streams his own songs too), and knows a lot of choreography to their songs

Likes to get together with some of the other guys and learn dances together

Makes Ruki listen to kpop with him

Yuma:

Didn't really care for Kpop but he listened to Kick It by NCT 127 once and got hooked

Stans NCT, Monsta X, and BTS (I can see him liking early and new bts)

Likes to listen to them when he's gardening or just vibing in his room

Doesn't own merch or actively follow what the groups are doing but knows their names and listens to their songs every day

Azusa:

Big Loona stan, likes to get into fights with Kanato because Loona is superior

Owns almost every album, lightstick, and has watched every single performance at least once.

Doesn't talk too openly about his love for them when he's at home, but will take the chance to bring them out at least once in every conversation when he knows he's talking to another kpop stan

Constantly goes on 3am rants to Ruki over text over mvs or general things they do

Yui:

Multistan but loves Oh My Girl and SNSD with all her heart

Absolutely adores girl groups and especially girl crush concepts

But she owns the Love Yourself trilogy by BTS because she loves the positivity

Unproblematic kpop stan that does not understand fanwars at all.

So, I have to admit that over quarantine last year my suite mate really got me into KPOP boy groups (plus KARD, we spent a total of 3 days straight crash coursing the industry and watching MVs) so I wanted to share this with you guys as a sort of get to know me and intro of myself into the KPOP stan world. ( I am new to this and am learning more from my suite mate every day. We made a pact that if I listened to her KPOP she would listen to my “Emo” music. I know there are important things to note about each group and I’m learning those but rn I’m just in it for the stellar music and visuals. I hope you can understand. please don’t come for me if I mess something up!)

Hi, I know you’re a fan of namjoon so I wanted to ask your thoughts on this ring thing? I’m kinda new and assumed all these namjoon is married with kids stuff were a joke. But some people seem to totally believe that. I mean where he’d get the time to see a partner and kids is beyond me but who knows? Anyways I was looking at some of their recent pics and he doesn’t wear it all the time - which if it was a couples ring - wouldn’t he? I thought maybe he would only wear it if they were appearing on Run or Korean shows, but he didn’t have it on for either of the new shows they’ve been on recently, as they may not have been as widely watched. I mean I guess it’s none of our business - but I’m trying to rip of my delulu hat for making me think Seokjin gave it to him 🙈

Hi anon, I hope you don’t mind that I’ll combine my answer for you with my answer to another ask since I feel like they fall into the same kind of category, as in people taking things too far and/or blowing things out of proportion. And, coincidentally, both have something to do with rings.

I’ll start with your question though and give you another example that followed a very similar trajectory as the omg namjoon is married with kids because ring narrative/theory. Some months ago, Namjoon posted a few pictures on twitter and among them was a picture of him with another guy wearing a green sweater. His face though was covered. At first ARMY didn’t think much of it, but then, eventually, someone started a joke that “remember that sweater Joon wore for BV4? The guy is wearing the same one, what if that's his boyfriend?” and it went viral.

It started out completely harmless with hundreds of positive and funny tweets made in good humor, no one taking it that seriously knowing that we’d never find out even if it were true. But, as the jokes started to simmer down, everyone had their laugh, the next wave came in and this one decided that this isn’t a joke at all but serious matter. Quickly this harmless fun turned into a witch hunt of “ARMY” trying to figure out who the guy might be, if he is Namjoon’s mysterious friend that once sent him a coffee truck with custom drawn designs on it, perhaps the same one with whom Namjoon already once posted a picture sitting on this garden porch swing type thing, some even trying to prove that the guy is either Seokjin (in which case, what would be the need to cover his face?) or Florist Isaac whom they met during that one RUN episode.

So, very quickly a few idiots turned harmless fun into something almost malicious and got into fights with ARMY who were trying to tell them to stop.

The ring thing followed a similar story. It was once a harmless joke based on the fact that Namjoon wants to have kids one day, so some made jokes about what if he’s already married but we just didn’t know etc. But very quickly that got out of hand as well, going as far as people claiming the little girl in his pictures which he posted around his birthday or something is his daughter (even though it was said it’s probably the child actress from BTS WORLD) and that him making jokes (during a BangtanB while trying on glasses before their MOTS7 press con) about his child being able to read/write hangul at a very young age wasn’t jokes at all but solid proof of the fact that he is married with a child (despite the fact that he would’ve had to have gotten married and his wife pregnant not long after their debut for the timeline to even work out somehow which makes it seem even more ridiculous). This even went as far as people spamming the comments during this vlives with questions about it, flooded his selcas on twitter with questions and “jokes” and, again, attacked anyone who told them to stop.

In all of this, watching it happen from the sidelines as someone whose bias is Namjoon, I was confused why these particular rings (which I don’t even think were the same ones each time) caused such a reaction. The members have all worn so many different rings over the years, on all fingers, sometimes even like eight at the same time, and yet it wasn’t until 2020 and their KBS interview after their first BBH100 #1 that things went bonkers. All because Namjoon decided to take the ring off before they started filming or something.

In all of this I see two things that make me wonder:

When would he have the time to find a girl (since same sex marriage is not a thing in Korea) with whom he would have enough time to befriend her, trust her (considering who Namjoon is, that one is a major thing), fall in love, date and be together for a few years, and then get married? From Seokjin we know they have maybe two or three days off a month and work at least ten hours a day on their BH regulated schedules. Add to that the time they spend in the studio working on music outside of schedules, gym time, a few hours of sleep, and perhaps a few scarce hours of free time to (in Namjoon’s case) go to a museum or ride his bike, does that really leave enough time for romance (with an outsider) that leads to marriage (and a child)?

Is age 26 at the height of their career really the time for marriage? Even more so when you are someone like Namjoon, the leader of the world’s biggest group with more responsibilities than we can likely imagine as outsiders. Sure, he said he wants kids, but he can still have those in his thirties, he can also get married in his thirties, after all, life does not end once you hit thirty despite what some teens believe.

Lastly, I actually think that if it were true, Namjoon, or really anyone from the hyung line, would be the ones who wouldn’t have to hide it, at least not when compared to the maknaes. You could argue that “it would threaten their career” but would it really? Perhaps if the ring were from a man (some namjinists did make jokes that it’s like his promise ring from Seokjin or whatever, but it was all in good fun, nothing more than that), then yes, but connected to a woman? That one member from EXO also came out and said he’s getting married because his fiancé was pregnant and all it did was cause a few fansites to close and a handful of people to “protest” in front of the SM building.

Little correction about my comments about that EXO member, though even with this my point still stands:

From anon: Re: your last post about namjoon’s rings! I agree with everything you said but just a small correction. I’m not an EXO stan but it wasn’t just a a few “protests” or fansites closing. From what I read online, he his fiancée and later wife, and his child were harassed, threatened and stalked to the point where he enlisted early just to give his family some relief. We all know there are people like this in every fandom and I know BTS would be aware of these things, so they’ll be extra careful.

Would there be delulus like this who’d go crazy if Namjoon were to say “ARMY, I’m (getting) married”? Of course. Would it ruin BTS’ career? I seriously doubt it. Do I think Namjoon would actually come out and say it if it were the case? No, but not because it’s bad idol etiquette or because BH wouldn’t allow him, but because people are insane and who knows what they would do.

It’s the same with times when people argue “I wish X ML members would just say he has a girlfriend so the ship wars would end” without taking into consideration the girl’s safety and the fact that a partner different than the one X member is shipped with has never been that big of an obstacle for some before. Just create a conspiracy theory about the company forcing this upon them and voila problem solved. We’ve seen that before when the tattoo scandal happened, and people thought JK might be dating that tattoo artist and therefore it would mean he isn’t in a relationship with Jimin or Tae.

Whatever happens in the members private lives, it is safer for all parties involved if it stays private, even more so if their romantic partners were non-idols, or non-celebrities, or another member.

Now onto the second ring question:

From anon: I am a young army and I am slowly losing my bearings. I've seen Vlive S, H and V. Many say it was a Tk*ok day (?) And all three emphasized it, and the V even wore the friendship ring for Jungkook. Is it true? I don't understand anything about it, I don't see it. After the last BTS interview on TV, I thought Vmin are best friends, not Tk*ok. I thought V said he didn't want Tk*ok and yet he was so happy during Vlive because it was Tk*ok day? Help!

Now this one, I was curious if we’d get an ask about this, even more since, if you’re a reader of our blog, you likely already know what I’m going to say.

Let’s start where you usually do—at the beginning. The day of the vlive coincided with what T*ek*okers have decided on is T*ek*ok Day, based on how supposedly some years ago this was the day Tae and JK named their subunit like this. I tried to find where exactly this happened, as in in which piece of official content, but I couldn’t find anything except for a screenshot. Anyone have a clue or a link?

Side note: T*ek*okers love using the “ship” naming as proof that not only are they real but also proudly showing it off by giving themselves a name but continently forget that they are not the only ones who gave themselves subunit names. After all Jimin and Namjoon named themselves MiniMoni, or Yoongi and Jimin who are MiniMini, Namjoon and Seokjin calling themselves RJRJ last year, or that one vlive with JK, Jimin and Seokjin where they also put together their names the way you build ship names. At the end of that vlive Tae, thanks to come prompting from the chat, named their trio vsope, so does that mean they are a romantic ship now too?

If you were watching that vlive as it was happening, and decided to look at the chat, then you know what was happening. For those who did not, basically the chat was flooded with comments about T*ek*ok Day, asking where JK is whom Tae loves, where his boyfriend JK is, congratulating Tae for T*ek*ok Day etc. Basically shippers took their shipping into a space where it doesn’t belong, into a space where the members can see it, and therefore purposefully broke one of the shipping rules (I even saw some tweet about how they were proud of themselves for literally spamming the chat with T*ek*ok comments which is so wrong, and I mean that regardless of which ship we talk about). In between those were the usual other comments like speak English or say hello to XYZ or say XYZ in whatever language, and very few comments that actually reacted to what the members were doing on screen. Like when Tae said he didn’t shave, instead of telling him that it’s fine, which it is, it’s his face after all, some decided to tell him he should shave more often, basically telling him what to do, which he saw and read out. Great job.

But all the madness came to a “climax” when Hobi was reading comments and among some other ones read out T*ek*ok, just the word not the T*ek*ok Day ones, and unfortunately we all knew he wasn’t reading out the Korean word for Thailand, which sounds the same though it is spelled a little differently. In that moment all hell broke loose. Focus cams of Tae’s facial expression in that moment went viral among shippers, most of course claiming he looked so happy, while other non-shippers claimed he didn’t look happy at all. It’s a micro moment so I won’t get into it, who knows what Tae thought in that moment and what his facial expression meant and if it even had any connection to the word and Hobi reading it out loud at all.

Because he read that comment, Hobi was basically crowned the new leader of the T*ek*ok shippers (I thought that role already went to Jimin?) and twitter basically had a meltdown.

As for the ring, I know this is something a lot of ships have, with romantic connotations according to their shippers, so I was curious how these rings supposedly look like in T*ek*ok’s case and if they even match the ring that Tae wore in the vlive. If it would, fine, if not, well…

If it’s not clear from the picture, the “supposed couple” or friendship rings are very delicate and thin, and sure enough I did find a lot of pictures in which both Tae and JK wore them, usually at different times, I will admit that. But the ring Tae wore during their vlive recently was much thicker and had some kind of design on it, therefore it’s a completely different one. Sorry. Why he wore it, if he bought it for himself or received it from someone, what emotional connotation to may or may not have, those are things we won’t know anything about unless he would tell us, so there's no point in speculating.

“Many say it was a Tk*ok day (?) And all three emphasized it” now this is curious to me since I watched the vlive as it was happening, and I didn’t see that at any point in the vlive. Sure, Hobi read that one comment, but if 95% of comments were about that, I wasn’t even surprised by it. Perhaps he thought that it would get people to stop? Perhaps he just read whatever comments his eyes landed on? Perhaps something else entirely? We have no way of knowing it so there is no point in trying to fixate on it. But besides that, they were talking about many other things and having fun making their smoothies, decorating them and just having a good time together with each other and with ARMY.

So, this way of presenting the vlive basically comes down to shipper perception, confirmation bias, and simply, almost, rewriting history.

Rings do not determine who your best friend is (according to a quick google search, wearing a ring on your index finger simply means friendship or self-esteem/authority), after all many of the members have rings either from each other or ones that match, like Namjoon buying Jimin a Cartier ring for his birthday a few years ago which Jimin proudly wore since it’s really pretty, or pink and blue rings (there are several different ones, actually) that Namjoon has worn with Seokjin in the past (which fits into the Namjinist pink and blue agenda), or the rings Jimin and JK have together according to their shippers, and many more. Jimin and Tae have a whole plethora of matching jewelry in form of necklaces, rings, bracelets, even contact lenses (as in wearing one of each pair to match each other), some which were chosen by their stylists and others they bought themselves for themselves (which are all conveniently “forgotten” by those who ship either big ML ship). Though we’ve seen that even with clothes given by their stylists they were still the ones to choose their own accessories, like Namjoon choosing a pair of glasses from a whole box of different ones, or the members choosing rings from two big boxes before going on stage.

Tae himself said, on multiple occasions across multiple years, that Jimin is his best friend, even his one and only best friend, and that he’s the one he likes most which he even proclaimed on national TV. As long as Tae doesn’t say that this has changed in the last, what, two weeks and suddenly JK is officially his new best friend, those who claim otherwise are basically nothing but shippers pushing a narrative that willfully ignores Tae’s own words. Just like they ignore and twist his Weverse comment about how T*ek*okers should get out of their imagination. What doesn’t fit is ignored or adjusted until it does fit.

Lastly, sure enough, Tae really was happy during that vlive but I’m fairly certain (though neither you, them or I will ever know for sure, we’re not in Tae’s head) it had absolutely no connection to T*ek*ok Day, something shippers created and not Tae and JK themselves, seeing as Tae has been in a very good and happy mood for a few months now. Whatever makes him so happy, I truly hope it’ll continue making him happy and I wish shippers (and solo stans) would stop trying to force a reason (which fits them) upon his emotions.

I know it’s easy to get confused by how loud shippers are online, especially as young ARMY (in this case both ARMY who are young age wise but also young in the sense of being new to the fandom), but shipper opinions, in many cases, are just noise, and also noise twisted and skewed a certain way to suit them. If you kept to OT7 spaces on the day of that vlive, no one really paid attention to the ring, most were annoyed by and furious at the shamelessness of the shippers in the comments, and tried to just focus on how fun the vlive was instead.

Kim Inseong

“Y/N!”

You heard your boyfriend call your name, he was carrying a photo in his hand, noticing the photos, you groaned sighing internally.

“Oh, give me a break.” You mumbled under your breath, Inseong stood in front of you holding the photo up to your face.

“What is this?” He asked and you rolled your eyes.

“Inseong-ah! Ever since I told you that my bias is JB, you have been on my back!” You said and tried to walk away but he stopped you.

“I still can’t believe you would choose JB over your own boyfriend!” Inseong said pouting making you sigh.

You took his head between your hands making him looking into your eyes, you knew he wasn’t really that upset, maybe just annoyed.

“JB may be my bias, but you’re my one and only, Kim Inseong. You understand?” You said and he smiled knowing.

“Of course! But we will keep working on making me your bias, yeah?” Inseong said making you snort.

“Yeah, keep dreaming. Fox-face.” You said walking away.

He gasped and yelled following you around the house annoying you to bias him.

Kim Youngbin

You stood next to your boyfriend trying to control your inner fan girl. Youngbin was at an award show where you both bumped into the king of K-Pop himself, G-Dragon.

G-Dragon has been your bias ever since Big Bang debuted. You were a teenager back then, now you’re an adult, but standing in front of him made you a teenager all over again.

“This is my girlfriend, Y/N. She’s a big fan.” Youngbin introduced, you bowed to G-Dragon and said.

“It’s an amazing honor to finally meet you.” You said breathlessly. Youngbin eyed you weirdly and after a couple of minutes, G-Dragon had to go.

After he left, you finally let your inner fan girl out. You started fanning yourself jumping up and down.

“Oh my god! I just met G-Dragon! Holy shit this is awesome!” You squealed as Youngbin facepalm at your reaction.

“A little warning that he was your bias would’ve been nice you know? You were almost drooling over him.” Youngbin said as you rolled your eyes.

“Excuse me for drooling over my bias! I mean, have you seen how handsome he is? Gosh!” You said once again and Youngbin stared at you in disbelief.

“Unbelievable!” Youngbin said as he sat down glaring at G-Dragon the whole night.

Lee Jaeyoon

“Kai? As in the idol?” Jayeoon said as you nodded.

“How many Kai’s do you know?” You said scoffing making him roll his eyes at you.

You were in your hometown visiting your parents, when Jayeoon had the perfect idea to go up your room. He regretted his decision almost immediately once he saw all the posters on your walls.

“Are you sure you weren’t a sasaeng fan?” Jayeoon snorted causing you to glare at him.

You sure are the biggest Exo-L out there, and Jaeyoon knew and he had no problem with it, but he liked to tease you from time to time.

“At least he made me fall in love with him quicker than you.” You replied sassily, and Jayeoon this time scoffed.

“At least appreciate your boyfriend and put up my poster next to it!” Jayeoon exclaimed and you quickly defended yourself.

“Hey! You're already on my wall, here! Look!” You said grabbing his hand pulling him towards your office.

He looked closely at the wall, and he saw a small photo card of himself next to Kai's enormous poster.

“That’s so messed up!” He yelled throwing his hands in the air storming out of your room.

“Hey! They had no posters of you! Lee Jayeoon! Get back here!” You yelled following him quickly.

Lee Sanghyuk

You were eating you pizza in peace, when your boyfriend, Sanghyuk, came barging in with a look of betrayal on his face. He held slammed his hands on the table dramatically.

“I cannot believe you! Seriously!” He said trying to look angry, you bit into your pizza not paying much attention to him.

“I take that you looked through my phone, right?” You said and he nodded.

“Oh yes! I can’t believe you would do this to me!” Sanghyuk said pouting, “How could you have more pictures of Wonwoo than your own boyfriend!” He said, throwing a fit.

“He is hot.” You simply replied and he gasped putting a hand over his heart.

“And I’m not?!” He asked and you shook your head. “Okay, rude.”

“Sanghyuk-ah, no need to be jealous. I love you, you know that. I mean, he may be hot. But you’re hotter.” You said kissing his nose.

“Alright spill it out, what do you want?” Sanghyuk said already knowing that you were up to something.

You smiled cutely and wrapped your arms around his neck, and said in your aeygo voice.

“Sanghyuk-ah, they’re having a concert, can we please go?” You said giving him your best puppy dog eyes.

“Haha, no.” He said walking away and you scoffed. Then he turned around and yelled.

“And I'm still hotter than Wonwoo!”

Baek Juho

You walked inside your house taking your shoes off, you were smiling from ear to ear. For your birthday, Juho booked backstage tickets for you to meet your idols, BTS. What he didn’t is that he you were Suga biased.

“You never told me your bias was Suga.” Said Juho and you turned around to face him.

“You never asked.” You replied and he gave you his best bitch look making you laugh.

“Do you have a thing for rappers?” Juho asked.

You smiled wrapping your arms around him nuzzling your nose against his, making him smile.

“Well, I’m dating one.” You replied and he just smiled.

“Why did you bias him again?” Juho asked, and you looked at him before sighing.

"He is really talented, he is also very handsome! Don’t look at me like that, he is your idol too.” You said and Juho chuckled.

“I guess you're right. But just remember that, I’m your ultimate bias, okay?” He said and you nodded your head replying.

“Oh, yes! Totally.”

Kim Seokwoo

You were watching ASTRO’s interview on TV with Seokwoo next to you, you were staring in awe at Eun-woo, He was your bias and it annoyed Seokwoo a lot. What even made you so attracted to the boy so much. Seokwoo was your boyfriend not Eun-woo.

“Yah! Why are you glaring at me like that?” You said and he rolled his eyes, you chuckled at his reaction. “You’re jealous, aren’t you? Does the prince of SF9 feels threatened by my bias?” You teased and he glared harder at you.

“I’m not jealous.” Seokwoo replied quietly and you pouted slightly at his cute reaction.

“Baby, you don’t have to be jealous. You know I only love you, right?” You said and wrapped around his waist.

“I know, but I thought being your boyfriend meant that I’m your bias.” He replied and you just smiled at him.

“Just because you’re my boyfriend doesn’t mean you’re my bias.” You teased him.

He just stared at you in disbelief and closed the TV when it came on Eun-woo, you laughed at his childish acts and hugged him.

“I’m just kidding, you’re my ultimate bias, better now?” You said and he smiled knowingly saying.

“Much better.”

Yoo Taeyang

“Are we gonna discuss the fact that you find Taeyong better than me?” Taeyang said as you looked up from your phone.

“I thought I made it clear, he is my bias, so.” You said as he stared at you for a little.

He just found out that you bias Taeyong from NCT 127, and he wasn't pleased with the fact that he wasn’t his girlfriend’s bias.

“And why exactly did you bias him?” Taeyang asked and you just shrugged, deciding to tease him for a bit.

“He is the definition of perfect, he is really handsome, a great dancer, and an amazing rapper and vocalist.” You said making Taeyang roll his eyes annoyingly.

“And what’s the difference between the two of us?” He asked making you look at him with a look of mischief in your eyes and you replied simply.

“He is my type.”

Teeyang stared at you for a moment his eyes held a fierce look in them, like he was daring you to say more. You felt bad because you know he will start doubting himself.

“But lucky for you, you’re not my type..” You said making him look at you, “You’re my only choice. I will always come back running to you.” You said and he smiled shyly.

“I love you.” Taeyang said as he kissed your forehead.

“I love you too, you idiot.”

Kim Youngkyun

You were listening to the new Stary Kids M/V, while your boyfriend sat there with a bored look on his face.

“What’s with long face, Kyun?” You said as he just rolled his eyes and looked back at his notepad. You shrugged and returned to the work you were doing.

When Felix’s part came, you squealed as you rapped along with him, Youngkyun stared at you with a look of jealousy.

“Why do you bias him? I mean, if you like rappers, you already know that I’m one myself.” Youngkyun said as you looked back at him.

“Well, you two are alike, but the only difference is that his voice is so much deeper than yours. It gives me chills, you know?” You said.

Youngkyun looked at you with his cold stare, making you huff.

“If it makes you feel any better, you were the first one to stand out when I started to stan your band. I biased you almost immediately.” You said and he suddenly smiled his gummy smile.

“Really?” Youngkyun asked as you nodded returning his smile.

“Really, but now my bias is Chani.” You said as his smile disappeared and he stood up walking away saying.

“I’m breaking up with you.”

“No, I’m sorry!”

Kang Chanhee

You were sitting next to Chanhee as you both watched the performance of TXT. You were so into the performance that you didn’t notice what your boyfriend was talking about.

“Hey! Y/N! Did you hear what I said?” Chanhee asked, you looked at him confused.

“What?” You asked as Chanhee looked at you then looked at the screen.

“You’re a fan of TXT?” He asked, you nodded quickly.

“Yeah! Since they debuted.” You replied.

“And, do you bias one of them?” Chanhee asked and you nodded quietly, not knowing what would be his reaction.

“Yes, Soobin.” You said, and the other members started to tease Chanhee.

Chanhee wasn’t really that bothered, but just surprised, he knows it was just a harmless thing, as he also biased some of the other girl groups.

“Is it because he is so much taller than Chanhee?” Youngkyun said in teasing tone making Chanhee glare at him.

“You’re the one to talk, your girlfriend replaced you with both Felix and me.” Chanhee said making you laugh as Youngkyun rolled his eyes.

“Thanks a lot Chan, he won’t let that go.” Youngkyun’s girlfriend said, making Chanhee reply.

“You’re very welcome.”

There I am, minding my own business, going about my life. My friend at the time says “Hey, I’m into this thing. It’s called kpop.”

And I, being the kind of person who finds a genuine joy in listening to people talk about their passions, was like, “I’m in. Tell me everything.”

And she goes, “Everyone makes fun of me for it. You don’t have to get into it or anything.”

And I went, “Bitch, I said I was in TELL ME EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS THING THAT BRINGS YOU JOY.”

So we watch some Got7 and BTS and Block B and BAP and EXO.

And it’s then she says “there’s a group that’s actually our age. They’re called Big Bang, there’s only 5 of them, so it’s not as confusing.”

(The EXO mv had really fucked me up. They just kept coming. There was just more and more members every time the camera moved and they didn’t stop popping up. I was so overwhelmed, it was terrifying.).

So she puts on a Big Bang video.

I see this:

And I hear “Yeogi buteora, modu moyeora...”

Then this happens:

And everything inside of me is screaming “Oh my god I hate this peacocking, Beetlejuice mother fckr! And he jacked my hair style! CAN’T STAND HIM.”

Which, I know now, was my first denial. At the time I didn’t see it for what it was because I was younger then and hadn’t known myself the way I know myself now.

Seconds pass and suddenly I want to know him so I can hate him properly, so I ask who he is. “Who is the annoying boy with the stupid pretty face? Tell me about the pretty boy.”

But it probably came out as like “Who is that?” Or “Whose the one with the hair?”

“~G Dragon~.”

“UGGGGGH 🤢 so cringe. 🙄🙄🙄.”

Then there’s a whole Shirtless Youngbae™️ and BlueTop shows up and she has to tell me about him because that’s her ‘bias’, whatever that means.

She explains biases and wreckers. And while this is happening all I can think is, Where is the one I hate? Where is the pretty boy? They should show him more so I can be annoyed again.

At this point I DO NOT understand what’s happening to me. This is not a reaction I am used to having to anyone ever. I literally don’t know what’s going on in my head I just know, I have an urgent need to see him and I’m frustrated that’s it’s been 30 whole seconds.

🌞Daesung🌞 happens. God 🌞Daesung🌞 happens. I’m distracted. I am momentarily placated.

~G Dragon~ comes back. He gives me mad collarbone. I’m annoyed. I don’t know why I care, I don’t even care about collarbones. Never in my life have I been attracted to collarbones. But suddenly maybe I am? I’m confused. I see his tattoo briefly, I think it’s pizza. I like pizza. Maybe he’s not so bad...

Shirtless Youngbae™️ returns with his Terminator arm.

Pre-kpop Michelle is hysterical. She asks, “What are you doing? Focus on the shirtless one. He’s ripped. We like that. What about Mr. Freeze (I really called him that) aka BlueTop with the legs for days. YOU LOVE TALL BOYS. Look at him! Look at literally anyone else, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??”

New Michelle isn’t listening. She doesn’t care. Everything she was attracted to before has been thrown out of the window. She’s shoving a pillow over Pre-kpop Michelle’s face because clearly this girl doesn’t understand... We need to see the annoying one with the hair and she won’t shut up about who we ~should~ be interested in. Pre-kpop Michelle is dead, R.I.P. 🙏

The annoying boy with the hair and the dumb name is back again. And his hair keeps changing color and he’s so stupid. Although he is pretty. He’s actually, maybe the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen in my life. I didn’t even know boys were allowed to be so pretty... I don’t care! I don’t care if he’s the prettiest stupidest boy in the world. I can’t stand him and he makes me feel like I’m crazy where before I had felt relatively normal.

The song is ending. He sits on his stupid throne. The center throne amongst the trash heap royalty. King of the junkyard. And I love him.

I need more. I demand it of my friend, “SHOW ME MORE OF THE PRETTY BOY.” So we watch BB videos on YouTube for hours. And I’ve been begging for more of the pretty boy ever since.

So yeah, it went like that. I’ve basically been in love with him since the second I saw his gorgeous perfect face despite how many times I’ve tried to convince myself I wasn’t.

EPISODE 24 BONUS ROUND: K-POP CONFIDENTIAL

Has K-Pop changed your life in any major way? Oh, it definitely did! It’s thanks to K-POP that I met my long-time friends, learned important lessons, and just opened a new world for me that I felt I couldn’t get while only listening to J-POP and watching anime. I’m forever grateful for this genre of music because I learned the concept of “self-love” and working hard on something you’re passionate about will always produce positive results.

What groups do you stan? BTS, SVT, NCT (ot21), EXO, MONSTA X, GOT7, B.A.P, SNSD, CLC, GFRIEND, DREAMCATCHER, & EVERGLOW (I have a lot more because I’m a huge multi-stan)

Who are your biases? I’m just going to list my ULTS because this would be a huge paragraph if I didn’t LOL. BTS - Seokjin, NCT - Mark Lee, SVT - Seungcheol (S.Coups), B.A.P - Junhong (Zelo), & Super Junior - Kyuhyun.

If you could do one activity with your ult, what would it be? It depends on who it is, but lately S.Coups has been occupying my mind, so I’ll pick him. If I had to pick one activity to do with him, it would probably be spending an entire day at the beach!

Why do you think people love idols and their stories so much? I honestly can’t say for certain as everyone’s answers will be different! But I feel like the common ground type of answer is because we love their music, and the concepts behind each one. We love hearing the end product of their months, maybe even years, of hard work, and show our appreciation for their songs by supporting them! Other times, their lyrics also hold special messages that us fans can either relate to or find joy/support in them.

Where do you think the line between fantasy and reality should be drawn? The line should definitely be drawn between fantasy and reality when you start showing possessive behavior towards your favorite group/idol. When you start saying, “I’m gonna marry Kim Seokjin one day,” or “How dare (insert idol name here) get a girlfriend/boyfriend when he/she is mine!” then you should honestly take a step back and remember that at the end of the day, these people do not know us on that personal level, and we don’t know them. We only know what we see from what they post to the public. We don’t know what goes behind closed doors, so people need to stop acting like they do.

What would you do if you met your bias in real life? I’m going to tailor this answer to S.Coups, because I want to tell him how proud I am as a Carat for him to tell us fans what’s going with his mental health AND taking a break from activities in order to get the help he needs. The stigma around mental health in S.Korea is bad (I say this from what I’ve seen and heard from the news), so the fact that he prioritized his mental health over activities is just amazing, and I was beyond the moon when he announced his return!

Is there a need for reform in the industry? Oh, definitely! The double standard when it comes to girl group members and boy group members needs to be equal. I’ve read how much hate and harassment girl group members get (especially the underage members) when they dress kind of sensual, but when boy group members do it, it’s like “YES DADDY!” So, that needs to go. Also, as mentioned above, we need to prioritize both physical and mental health among the idols because I really do not want to read another breaking news article of an idol passing away because they felt THAT was a last resort.

If you could be a K-pop star, would you? HAHA no. I would not be a K-POP star. I’m perfectly content with being a manager though! I will keep those idols on TASK!

What would you do if you found out that [insert idol here] had read [this] fic about them? Well, that depends on the story I wrote! If it’s SMUT, I will feign ignorance and delete my blog. If it’s not, then I would still feign ignorance because I would die of embarrassment if any of the idols I’ve written for read my content.

Why did you choose to write for a real person vs. a fictional one? I decided to write for a real person because it was easier to imagine how the person would react (facial expression wise) and hear their voice (via variety shows, etc.) and just put it in story words. Having face claims makes my life so much easier!

He’s the one who will let you try makeup tricks and new products on him. Secretly amazing at painting nails.

Wonho (Monsta X): He’s the guy friend that you never expected to be friends with. Him? You? Total opposites on a physical scale. On completely different levels. Once you get to know him, he’s a total teddy bear. Doesn’t question it when you suddenly appear and hug him without saying a word, he’ll simply hug you back while maintaining the conversation he had going. Or he’ll simply surprise you with a hug because he likes them.

Bang Chan (Stray Kids): He’s the one that always has his earbuds in even during class. Like he’s the guy that has the earbud going through the sleeve of his hoodie and is pressing his palm against his ear to listen to the music. Listens to everyone, even if he doesn’t know them that well and gives really good advice if they ask for it.

Jackson (Got7): The guy that you can hear a mile away. Hyper. Can’t sit still to save his life. I like to do both. Honestly, it’s kinda like a mix of both. With some of my fics, the only thing that makes them fanfics are that I’m using the real person’s name, and I’ll pin point on certain aspects of their physical features. In Brotið Hjarta, the only thing that connects to it being Namjoon is his name, and maybe his hair style/color and ear piercings, everything else was what I imagined it to be.

From everyday life, sometimes I’ll be daydreaming and it kinda morphs into a story or a fanfic and so I’ll make notes so that I don’t forget it.

Summary: With your support sent out to EXO as a fan and a potential collaborator, you awaken to a massive wave of support from your fans, along with fellow EXOls. However, a vocal majority of them aren’t too keen about you working with their bias band. All of this anxiety comes to a head as your supports push you towards the idea of a collaboration, including Suho himself.

Warnings: Toxic fans, racist comments and negative thoughts.

Writer’s Note: Here’s chapter 2, I hope you guys enjoy and let me know if you want any more EXO fics/series, requests are open! I also want to add that this is purely fictional, I don’t know Halsey (Ashley) personally, so if she acts a little odd I’m sorry. And another thing about this fic and others I write, the Kpop idols speak English, since I don’t want to butcher any translations or Korean words, since I do not speak the language. Maybe in the future, but not now! Thanks!

I could hardly sleep at the sound of my phone buzzing like a madman. Of course the sun peaking through my blinds didn’t help, along with Ashley’s bed hogging ass. Next time I’m taking the couch instead of sharing my bed, jeez.

I shift over on my back to reach for my phone, it comes to life at my slight touch and overwhelms me with so many notifications I almost tumble from the bed.

“Mmh,” Ashley groans, “quit moving.”

She kicks my foot softly, but I don’t react at all, most of my attention is on my phone.

My Twitter bell icon stays red with a swarm of notifications, messages, likes and retweets. I’m trending, right underneath with EXO and of course BTS.

“Uh, Ash, look! Look!”

I nudge her a few times before she rolls over with hair stuck to her cheek and a scowl.

“Y/N, I-I need at least one more hou—”

“Look!” I scold.

We both stay captivated by the tiny screen as Ashley’s finger scrolls down some of the comments.

They read:

Um, SM we need a Empress Dee Dee/ EXO collab, stat!

Aw, Junmyeon was soo cute, I lowkey ship it!

Finally a Kpop band reaching out for a black artist, I wish someone would follow through too *cough, cough BTS

“Holy shit,” Ashley says, “they really love this idea, did your publicist call you about it yet? Y/N?”

Her voice is drowned out as more of the comments turn sour.

A lot of them read:

Western Artist X Kpop Artist= trash

Black people should stay with their own music, it wouldn’t mix with EXO’s sound

Gross, please don’t tell me Junmyeon has a thing for that black girl, why not a Korean woman?

They continue to flood my feed, most of them turning more daunting than the rest.

“Ok, enough Twitter for one morning,” Ashley says as she takes the phone.

“You’re right,” I say, “I need some more sleep.”

Ashley frowns as I lay back against my pillow and yank the covers up and over my face.

“Y/N, come on,” Ashley groans, “you seriously gonna let these assholes get under your skin?”

I nod against the sheets.

“Half of them are right Ash,” I say, “why would any of EXO collab with me? There are many other Kpop artists who are better anyway.”

“Um, but none of them are Empress Dee Dee, are they?” Ashley asks.

I shrug.

“They aren’t black though, Ash,” I note.

Ashley gives me an incredulous look.

“That’s got nothing to do with it,” Ashley growls.

Her words strike an unexpected nerve within me as I push the covers away and sit back up.

“Nothing?! “ I snap, “Ash, it’s everything to do with it! Racism still exists, even more prevalent now, especially with colorism still at an all time high!”

Ashley frowns.

“But I-”

I put a hand on Ashley’s own, the stark contrast of my brown skin and her pale one.

“I know, I know who are Ashley, but it’s different for women like me, and darker skinned black women,” I say, “I just need you to understand that, please.”

Ashley nods.

“I do,” she says, “but I need you to understand that it shouldn’t stop you! Don’t listen to what those assholes are saying!”

“Ash—”

“You love music, don’t you?” she asks.

Her question throws me off, yet I nod anyway.

“Of course I do,” I say.

“Then focus on making music, talk to your publicist and agent about that EXO collab!” she declares.

I watch Ashley in half awe, half amusement as she tosses the sheets onto the floor like the drama queen she’s being. Maybe she should shoot for the Academy Awards rather than Grammys next year.

“You know you gotta pick that up right,” I deadpan while gesturing to the splayed mess of covers below us on the floor.

Ashley turns her nose up, but softens as she comes around to my side of the bed, sitting next to me and taking my hand.

“Don’t worry about the fucking bed spread and listen to me,” she says.

I stare at her eyes, there’s this hint of desperation in them, as if I was the one who insulted her. Maybe I was a bit too much in my feelings. She cares about my wellbeing so much that I forget this affects her as well.

“Promise me that you’ll stay all right through all of this,” she says, gripping my hand skin tight.

I think of another comeback but save it for later.

“I promise Ash,” I vow, “now can you pick up the damn covers?”

Ashley frowns but rises to gather up the covers anyway.

“There. I’m doing it, now could you please call your publicist?”

A heavy sigh escapes my lips as I reach for my phone on the nightstand. More notifications flood, a few missed calls from Daphne, my publicist and Todd, my agent. Great, now I have to deal with them.

“I’m calling them back now, Ash,” I announce.

“Awesome,” she calls from the bathroom.

I decide to go with Todd first, since he left the most missed calls. My heart beats heart against the insistent ring of the phone, it drawing out a bit longer than it usually should.

“Hello, Y/N!” Todd calls.

I gulp before speaking.

“Hi Todd, look I-I know I should have contacted Daph first about posting that tweet.”

Todd chuckles through the phone.

“Y/N, that was a genius move! It seemed really genuine!” he exclaims.

I frown.

“Uh, I was completely genuine Todd, my heart was one hundred percent into it,” I say.

“Oh, well that makes it even better, because I’ve already got in contact with the producers on the Ellen Show, and since EXO will be there promoting Obsession, we can finally have you both in talks for a collaboration!”

My stomach nearly drops. It’s exciting news, right? Getting to meet my bias band in front of me instead of a tiny computer screen, yet the circumstances got me worried. In front of all those people. Some of them could be any of those people spouting out hateful comments.

“Er, Y/N,” Todd says, “you heard me, right?”

“I-I u-uh yeah!” I say, “j-just uh, fan girl nerves is all.”

Todd chuckles, but gets back to business as usual.

“No need to worry, it’s all scripted and Ellen has a way of making people calm, especially new guests,” he explains, “but this will really put you on the map! Considering you haven’t made a public appearance since your grammy snub and you’re gonna do it with one of the biggest kpop groups, ever! Don’t let those fangirl nerves get to you too much!”

I manage to cough up a tiny giggle.

“Of course Todd, thank you.”

“Already have a flight set up for you in the morning, I told you that you’d skyrocket soon, didn’t I?” he asks.

I roll my eyes but agree anyway.

“I know Todd, bye.”

“Get plenty of sleep, call me when you get there!” he urges before hanging up.

WIth him off the phone I can finally freak out in peace. Well until Ashley returns with her toothbrush a nosy look on her face.

“Shit, by that face I’m assuming it didn’t go well, did it?” she asks.

I shake my head and collapse backwards against the sheets.

“I-It went unexpectedly well,” I admit, “EXO’s gonna be on Ellen for the first time, and I got a spot on there with them.”

Ashley nearly jumps into the ceiling.

“Are you fucking serious?!” she exclaims, “it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet!”

I nod against my pillow.

“Right! God, I-I’m not ready for this,” I groan.

Ashley shifts closer to wrap an arm around my shoulder.

“You got this sweetie,” she whispers, “I’m gonna take the shower first, that cool with you?”

I nod as she rises.

“Oh and stay off Twitter,” she says as she goes back to the bathroom.

Of course I don’t listen as I unlock my phone yet again. My eyes scan through all of the comments: good, bad, ugly and downright unnecessary. My finger stops at a previous V Live EXO recently did, or a clip at least.

The caption of the video read:

Ya’ll Junmyeon is really out here caring about DeeDee, like a lot! When he gonna pull up 😂😂

I click it and there’s Suho, Baekhyun and Chen with soft looks, unlike the way they looked during their X-EXO concept stage. Beakhyun leans closer to the camera, scanning the comments I assume as Suho frowns.

“Of course not!” Suho growls, “why would anyone say that?”

“What is it hyung?” Chen asks.

Suho points at the screen.

“Someone said that we thought DeeDee was ugly, why would you insult a beautiful woman like that?” he asks in disgust.

My breath gets hitched in my throat at his words.

Baekhyun frowns this time.

“Aw, why are people making fun of DeeDee?” he groans, “don’t listen to them DeeDee! Stay strong! Keep smiling!!”

Chen nods sharply as Baekhyun continues to yell it obnoxiously.

Suho pushes him until he ceases and looks into the camera intensely.

“The people who are saying this aren’t our fans, DeeDee,” he explains, “you’re amazing, stay all right, ok? Ok!”

Suho grins as he puts up his finger hearts as his smile widens.

The video ends, yet it doesn’t within my head. EXO actually stood up for me. This has got to be a dream.

1. What kpop songs make you feel at home?

Imma just say EXO love love love (rearranged) [Live]. I’ve had the best memories with this song and I jammed hard to this song a lot in the car. Pretty peaceful and chill and slow.

2. What idol(s) do you associate with kindness?

EXO Lay, GOT7 Jackson, RED VELVET Yeri, literally everyone from MONSTA X and SEVENTEEN. MONSTA X and SEVENTEEN radiate kindness I swear dude.

3. Has a kpop song or group helped you through some difficult times? If so, and if you feel comfortable, share how.

EXO. They were the first group I deeply got into and invested so much of my late high school and early college time in. I can’t think of anything too crazy or difficult, but just when I’m feeling low or have a bad day and things don’t go well, I can search any exo crack video or sweet video of them and it instantly cheers me up and I feel better.

4. What idol would you star gaze with? Why?

I’d like to be with Kyungsoo, of course. I think he seems very insightful and I would like to have any conversation with him, from silly to deep. Also NCT Mark. That kid is everything, he’s a funny goofball but for being his age has probably seen and done so many things, and I’d love to pick his brain.

6. What was your first kpop group that you stanned? Why did you stan?

EXO. They were the first group i really took my time getting to know. And I’ve never seen a musical group with so many members, my gosh. Thank goodness they have so much content. It was fun getting into them kinda in the middle stage, CMB era. There’s enough stuff to see them from the very start and go from there, and still loving them to this day (June 2020) I’ve really got to see them grow as wonderful men and human beings. Like who knew Chen would become DADDY first, amiright ladies.

7. Would you rather give or receive a gift from your bias?

Oh for sure give a gift. I like writing AND gift giving, and I think just writing a simple letter to an idol I appreciate or a group in general would be great. I’d give me the opportunity to thank them for helping me through tough times, they give me hope and cheer, and to express that everyone feels the same way. They deserve to know how much us fans are so thankful for them.

8. What are some cute nicknames you have for your biases?

Kyungsoo has strawberrysoo and Sooberry, Chen’s got chen-rry. It was a joke between a friend and I when we made EXO into fruit.

9. What idol(s) would you go to an arcade with? Why?

I think Baekhyun and NCT Johnny would be fun. They’re both pretty energetic and can provide excellent narration. And Baek’s pretty much a gamer anyways so he’d help me shoot lol.

10. What are some things you associate with your bias?

Kyungsoo- khakis, fly fishing dad outfit, dad fashion, the color black, nike, cooking, penguins, eyebrow game on fleek, heart lips, owl eyes, soft, kind, talented, handsome af, pls bring back red hair i beg you. must i go on???

11. What idol(s) would you bake cookies with? Why?

NCT Taeyong. Cooking would be so fun, just jammin’ to songs and baking. He’s a precious bean and I’d be fun eating cookie dough instead of actually cooking it would be a blast. And I bet he has a crazy sweet tooth.

12. What idol(s) would you like to share comfortable silence with? Why?

Kyungsoo, he seems like a pro at that lol. SVT Joshua, MX Shownu, RV Wendy. They’re just peaceful human beings and I can image just all of us reading or doing work peacefully in each other’s presence.

13. What idol(s) would you like to share your favorite food with?

Kyungsoo, I love that he’s a foodie and enjoys cooking. I’d love to eat pho and ramen and sushi with him and just talk about life. MX Wonho would be fun to go on ramen dates with, since that’s his fav too.

14. What idol, when they come to mind, makes you feel warm, fuzzy, at home?

Kyungsoo. Pretty obvious at this point haha. He’s my fav and I adore him dearly. His voice too, my gosh. His singing voice is just so gentle and warm, it certainly gives you the warm fuzzies.

15. Which idol would you like to have a long, deep hug with? Why?

MX Shownu. He just seems to have such a soft touch, and he’s known as the papa bear in the group. It helps that he’s pretty muscular, i think his hugs would be nice and warm and strong.

16. What’s your ideal day with an idol(s)?

I would like to spend a day or two with SEVENTEEN. I think going out and having a good meal with them would be great. It’s a great way to get to know someone and talk about easy mundane things. I have the best memories with friends at a lake, or going out in nature. So i think time with them hiking or having a lake day would be so peaceful and fun. Also inner-tubing, omg that’d be a blast. They’re all such GOOD BUDDIES to each other, and crackheads at the same time. They’re energy would be nothing but fun and exciting.

I mean... all of EXO. BTS Hobi, NCT Jaehyun and Taeyong, SVT Scoups

I think Johnny and Mark would be super fun. I think a nice puzzle would be nice to do, a time to talk and get to know them, with hot chocolate and blankets. And like a crazy netflix or hulu binge watching, and eating popcorn. I’m used to commenting and making jokes during movies/tv so I’d to joke around with them and see what they have to say about a movie or tv.

21. Talk about why you love your bias so much.

Kyungsoo is just such a sweet soul. I saw a video of him just now and it was when he was 19 years old, and he was so sweet and giggly and smily. And it’s astounding to see him grow into such a mature young man. he’s done great success in acting, and seeing the kinds of talents he possesses. He’s a talented singer, a good dancer, an amazing actor, and he cooks. He seems very mature and yeah, kinda looks dead inside at award shows, but I think he’s got a good head on his shoulders. And when the time comes he can become goofy and cute, even when it seems he doesn’t want to/do it on purpose.

22. Would you rather go to Disneyland or Everland with your bias? What would you do there?

I mean easily Disneyland. i wanna see every member of my favs wear Mickey ears decked out in Disney gear. They definitely deserve a day of fun and laughter and no stress, and just living out as a young adult.

23. What do you imagine your bias to smell like?

Kyungsoo- Idk probably just clean, like soap and whatever cologne he may wear. He’s a simple man lol.

24. What do you wish for your bias group or idol in the future?

I just want happiness for everyone, and success and to remember how much we love them and appreciate them for all the hard work they do.

25. What season do you associate a group or idol with? Why?

SVT is summer, for sure. They come up with the most boppiest of bops, and the energy for them best fits a summer road trip with the windows down and music blasting.

26. What idol would you like to share childhood stories with?

Honestly anyone who has traveled from the US to SK. I love hearing their stories and how hard they worked to get where they are. They really sacrificed everything they knew in the States and went to a place they don’t know well, have to learn a new language, and miss their families. I’d like to hear how they made it to where they are and what they’ve learned over the years.

i need to have a bit of moment right quick so stay if you want to cry a little.

bts is my ultimate group. i have a plethora of favs (all the nct groups, got7, seventeen, monsta x, ikon, txt, ateez, pentagon, vav, super m, exo; the list goes on) but bts is the group that really made a big impact on me. like everyone (i presume), i went through a period of not being comfortable with my body and who i am. i also spent much of my childhood to teenage years helping everyone figure out their life issues without being able to understand my own and not wanting to really talk about how i was feeling bc i didn’t want to worry others with my own emotional baggage. but when i got into bts thanks to one of my best friends (who is more like a sister), that all changed. i become more vibrant, more outgoing, more willing to live life postively and do what makes me happy. and i know this coming out of random but let me give context:

i was sitting in my room watching a video of namjoon. namjoon is my bias for reasons that i will get into later. but sometimes when i’m sitting in my room watching bts videos (which is all the time), i always think about what i would tell each of them if ever given the chance to sit down and talk with them for longer than a few seconds. and of course i get emotional imagining telling yoongi that he has brought me more joy than i could have ever imagined one human being giving to another with his wit and unique way of loving his brothers. that despite the adversities he faced at a young age, he kept going showing me that life is worth living when you have something to fight for (like we all do). or when i imagine telling jimin how me and him (somewhat) walked the same path in learning to love ourselves for who we are and that he doesn’t know it but he held my hand and held me up through some of my toughest internal battles. or telling hoseok his infectious postive energy has inspired me to be the sun for the people in my life who i love more than life itself. and that i don’t have to take on their burdens and try and fix them but i simply just need to remind them that i am there for them. always. and don’t get me started on telling tae how his just soft nature and ability to find good in the world has kept me focused on being positive and seeing the natural beauty that lies within the world around us because that is what matters. the beauty we find in the world reflects the beauty in which we find within ourselves. oh and jin, my man. i would just have to thank him for being more than what was expected of him. stepping in and being the leader behind the leader of bts. making sure they were all taken care of being the eldest but letting them know that it’s okay to be who they are. he stepped up and was a silent, but influential, force for his 6 little brothers. and jungkook. god, jungkook. if he didn’t teach me that fear is a thing of the mind and fails are a fraction of the past; what matters is now. right now. live for now. do what makes you happy now and don’t take “no, you can’t” as an answer from anyone, not even yourself, then i don’t know who can.

but here is where i always lose it emotionally. i can hold it together through all 6 of them; 6 people and i shed only a few tears. but it’s something about namjoon. that mr. kim namjoon, that’s just makes me erupt into an emotional mess. i was very reluctant to make namjoon my bias at first because i felt like i only liked him because he spoke english. but as time went on, something kept pulling me back to him. so i said “fuck it, he’s my bias”. and i remember my friend’s little sister saying “it’s not you who picks your bias, it’s your bias who picks you.” and if that ain’t a word then chile kick me. so some years have gone by now and just the mere mention of this man makes my heart shiver. what makes namjoon more than just a bias to me (i have yet to come up with a word to describe what he is) is that i see so much of who i am and who i strive to be in him. first, his brain and way of thinking intrigues me. how he thinks about the most minor to extremely major of things in the world makes me want to be as opened minded and as knowledgeable about life as he is. second, how he sacrificed much of his teenage and young adult life to become a role model to people who were only a few years older/younger than him. yeah, one can named a “leader” and just have that title but it’s something completely different when that title is personified. to be a leader is different to being called a leader. it’s also the selflessness and selfishness that he exhibits that i admire. his selflessness shows in how everything he does is in the best interest of all 7 of them and not just him. sometimes i feel like he does things that won’t even benefit him but only continue to showcase the abilities of his brothers. him being devoted to being a brother first, leader second makes it to where i believe (w/o a shadow of a doubt) that those boys never have to doubt namjoon’s love for them. he doesn’t have to verbally say it because it’s implied in his entire way of being. but he also shows selfishness but in the right way. he shows it’s okay to do what you love and not care what other people think of you. he shows that what makes you YOU is not caring about what other people want you to be in order to make them happy. be selfish when it comes to your happiness and your sanity because they matter the most when it comes to how you live life and how you love the life you live. he also constantly reminds us that the mistakes you’ve made in the past, big or small, do not define who you are or what you deserve out of life. as long as you live, learn, and let it be know that your mistake won’t happen again, you are free to live life how you so please and to let go of the frustration and fear you have. oh, but don’t forget how he shows that it’s okay to be angry at the world for a little while and it’s okay if you don’t regret being angry. we all have to go through things but how we come out on the other side of it all is what matters most. and that we all have the chance to make the most out of the life we have been given. (my tears lie here on my phone screen currently) he always says thing like “i hope my voice reaches you and brings you peace” and whole bunch of things along those lines but i just wish that i could tell him somehow that everything that he does reaches me. his music, his talks, his selflessness, his thoughts, everything he does reaches me and transcends beyond the surface and moves me in way i can’t never imagine. namjoon (hell, all of bts) have given me so much of myself , a more happier and vibrant and devoted version of me, that i know i would not have (or atleast it would have taken me much MUCH longer to obtain if not for them) if i wouldn’t have started my journey with them. it was hard finding these things within myself and sometimes i get frustrated like “why couldn’t you find this stuff on your own? what did bts say that made this new side of you pop out?” and i have to tell myself that it’s was meant for me to find them so i could in turn find myself.

My Fangirl Life

I think being a fangirl was one of my talent hahaha because I have been able to withstand anything. I have been a self proclaimed ACTIVE fangirl since 2009 it has been over a decade so I though maybe I can list all the artist that I have supported throughout the years (I am a fan of a lot but I will only list those artist that I have an active participation to): 1. AJ Perez (PH : 2009) - as far as I can remember he is the one whom I really thought of liking, because of his handsome face and acting who will not like him. So imagine my reaction when I heard he passed away, I am clearly shocked as when I woke up my cousins told me about it with the phrase 'di ba siya yung gusto mo'. After that I remember following all the news and even her gf then on any updates. I wanted to visit his funeral that time but I can't coz my parents won't allow me. Fun fact : I never stopped following AJ's twitter until now. 2. Melai and Jason Francisco (PH : 2009) - They are the reason I was hooked with Pinoy Big Brother before. Their uncanny lovestory made my heart giddy back then. I remember creating a PEX (Pinoy Exchange) account just to chat with my fellow fans, even though I am just in high school. 3. Ivan Dorschner and Fritzie Bercede (PH : 2010) - Just like MelAson, this hype was caused by PBB as I am already in PEX looking for this threads are easy already. I made a lot of things for them and I even sew their couple name (VanZie) 4. Mario Maurer and Baifern Pimchanok (TH : 2010) - As I can say the first foreign act I put as my profile picture. I am already unto KDrama that time but they just passed by. This love team made me feel happiness. They reason why I knew them because my 4th year High School adviser made us watch Crazy Little Thing Called love and just like that I was hooked. Even time have passed I still love and follow them on their sns. And that one time they visited Manila I waited for hours just so I can see them upclose (I am in the barricade). Especially now they will be back together made me happier and excited. 5. Jhake Vargas and Bea Binene (PH : 2011) - One of the most unforgettable artist for me. As I always say , I may not be able to stay but they always have a special part in my heart. Because of them FIRST TIME in my life I am not treated just a fan but also a friend. The feeling for the first time the artist knows ypu in person and never forget you. I am thankful for them as this was the time I was full on fangirl. I learn to go out because of tapings and mallshows. I learn how to organize events as I was an active part of the fanbase. I also knew the local stations here how they operate a show and treat artist. These two brought happiness toy freshman years and I am grateful for them, I am always here watching them grow and I was happy and proud. 6. Demi Lovato (US : 2011) - This was the time I was so into the Disney shows and this girl caught my attention because of her vocal prowess and her chemistry with Sterling Knight made me swoon. Because of her I experienced my first ever concert. My active days with her was short but I never stop looking forward to her works and continue to listen to her songs. 7. Ella Cruz (PH : 2012) - Liking her came as a surprise, to be honest at first I was just curious to see her because of Aryana (drama) that I enjoyed. So I tag along with my friends and met her after that when she welcomed us with open arms. We decided we should support her as she is an amazing actress and a humble person. I am proud to say that I saw her when she was still a teenager and saw her grow into this wonderful woman she is today. Until now I am still part of Ellamazing and do not regret every second of it. Because her and her family didn't just treat us as fans but also as a friend and family. She even is very supportive of my K(everything) addiction. What more can I ask for an artist, right? 8. Girls Generation (KR : 2012) - After the constant push of my friend to watch their performances and even reality show, I finally gave in to the trap. I think I made a decision after I watched Hush Hush by Taeyeon. I said this group has talent and they are very new to me. My active days for them might be a brief moment but they are still a very dear to my heart and still follow their releases. I even made effort to see Sooyoung (my bias) when I visited Korea last year. They are still I can proudly say, my best girl group. 9. Henry (KR : 2013) - This is the first guy I called ny husband, because I was into support ships or girls this is a step up. Because of the bubble of SM Family, I got to know Super Junior but instead of liking the principal members this guy caught my attention. Because he can speak so many language, can play different instruments, can sing and dance at the same time, a composer, a cook, an actor, a comedian and a sweetheart. I have never seen a guy like that before that is why I was head over heels for him. Right now, I still follow his activities and even watched his vlogs. I may just be a quiet supporter but I still cherish this man. I can and will never forget. 10. BTS (KR : 2014) - It is already very visible that I really like BTS. I joined a lot of fanclub activities even hosted and volunteer on events. More over out of all of the artist I liked they are the longest I have been very active to, for foreign artist. But this is the group I am the most dedicated to. And to be honest, I already gave myself the ultimatum that they will be the last artist I will support like this, and will not add anymore because when the time comes I already want to focus on myself. This group for me is one for the books. K-Pop unpopular opinions

So this is my first post on Tumblr. Cool.

ME AND THE K-POP GENRE

First thing first, why I like K-pop.

K-pop is not my favorite genre in today’s scene, my favorite genres are Rock, Metal and Alternative. As y’all can see, I’m emo and a hard-die fan of MCR and in general, I love emo groups as P!ATD, Fall out Boy, etc. I also do like a lot of metal and alternative bands, as Rammstein, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Ghost (ik a lot of people don’t like them, but idc I f*ckin love them), Coldplay, Foals, Glass Animals, Alt-J and I can say a lot more, but I don’t think I need to. So as you can see, my favorites genres have nothing to do with K-pop, so let me tell you how I entered this world.

So all of this happened in the summer of 2018 when I just came from Dublin, you know, the moment school has ended and you go traveling with your friends and all that stuff. Still remember it as one of the best experiences in my life tho.

So there I was, again in my country, with nothing to do, bored af, listening to the same music again and again. And I was so tired of listening to the same songs again and again.

I was listening to “No Drama” by Tinashe and Offset on Youtube when “Fake Love” by BTS appeared in my recommended. I was really bored and wanting to die, so I told myself, “why not”.

And yeah... I spent 4 hours listening to BTS music. It was amusing tho.

By the end of the summer, I was an Army, I knew a lot of K-pop groups, I was into that sh*t. I started with BTS, then Blackpink, Twice, NCT, Red Velvet, Exo... I started with the same as people my age and k-popers in 2019.

At first in k-pop, I was so amused that I liked everything I was seeing, but, you get more experienced and you start to like other things and to dislike some you did love at first.

Now that I’m a little more experienced, I can tell my favorite groups are 2NE1, 4minute, f(x), Big Bang, Dreamcatcher and well, BTS (even tho lately I had been having encountered ideas about them).

But still, I like being honest to myself and I have my opinions. I moved on to other genres like metal and grunge etc. and I left k-pop to the side tbh. Some of the groups that I did like at first now they’re not my sh*t, I find some things kinda annoying now and as consequence I dislike some songs that I used to love.

Now that the introduction is done, and I don’t have anything else to say, let’s start.

These are my opinions, and if you have others I still respect them bro, so respect mines. Let’s get it.

MY K-POP UNPOPULAR OPINIONS

1. Aegyo and cute concepts are cringey.

Dude, 20-year-olds acting like babies is just annoying. These kinda 12-years-old voices that some idols have to fake is just... For example, Rosé from Blackpink. Man, let her sing with her real voice. Being brutally honest, cute concept choreos are all the same, they just don’t tell me anything. The thing I hate the most is that for these concepts some idols are forced to wear clothes that ain’t their style... So annoying, dude. (Groups that follow these concepts and I just don’t like as much as I used to, are Twice and Loona)

2. I think that interviews in English are boring if only one member knows how to speak English. They are idols, they should know at least the basics to communicate. Having to watch and listen to just one idol trying their best to communicate while the others are just doing the m*therfucker ain’t that funny.

3. Dating bans are stupid, they are used as a way to keep fans following their idol. Because if a fan knows their idol is dating it makes them seem unavailable. To childish fans (or most k-popers) being able to dream of dating and marrying their idol it’s more appealing to bias someone and continue dreaming a non-existent future. Real fans don’t care about the dating life of an idol, so they should be able to do whatever the f*ck they want.

4. Sexy concepts and badass ones are the best, fight me.

From what I heard from Korea, the racism and how conservative and close-minded some koreans are, I think these concepts break a Lil’ the rules. Idols like CL, songs as Hate (4minute), Jessi, Hyuna, etc. break korean schemes and rules, and they make me reset my faith in humanity like, come on bro, we all can be open-minded, live and let other people live.

Also, I think that these concepts have the best choreos, aggresive choreos are just so cool, and as well as they have the best instrumentals, noisy ones are just f*cking awesome, change my mind. The fact that they show 20-years-old as mature, strong people is just high-quality stuff. (Groups that blow my mind with this concepts are for example Ateez and Dreamcatcher)

5. Loona stans are so annoying with their “stan Loona”. B*tches, stop being so annoying. If we don’t want to stand your group we’re not gonna, stop that bullsh*t. Anyway, I’m not hating on Loona or her non-psycho fans.

6. Red Velvet lasts songs, Zimzalabim and Umpah Umpah are just messy. Their recent concepts are messy, they look uncomfortable in their clothes and the choreos ain’t that good neither. Hope their next comeback is better tho, they have the potential to do it.

7. Mamamoo are the real queens of k-pop, people should stop sleeping on them, they’re are amazing and their personalities are brilliant. On stage they are one of the best groups so far, their voices are just so stable and powerful. They have the potential to be as big as Blackpink or BTS, so y’all should stop sleeping on them, homies.

8. There are so many Twice songs that sound the same. Feel Special is not that much of a bop tho, and they have a lot of songs that are just simply a miss. Sorry, my dudes. I think a more mature concept would fit them so well, with a more powerful instrumental, with that, they would conquer the k-pop world.

9. Chung Ha’s songs ain’t that good. Snappin’ aesthetic is gorgeous, the concept is so attractive, but the song itself it’s boring. She’s pretty, she knows how to dance, her aesthetic is f*ckin’ awesome, but I feel like her songs need smth to spice them up. They need that smth that they don’t have to turn them to bops. (Also I hate Chica with all my life, that song just gets me on my nerves).

10. Y’all are gonna hate me with this one, but I think BAAM and BBoom BBoom ain’t the same. Like man, it’s true they sound alike, but to me, they have such different vibes. BBoom BBoom it’s amusing and cheerful, has this kinda vibes that make you wanna dance, and BAAM has this kinda nostalgic, melancholic vibe in the sound of the song that sets your heart on fire. That’s the way I find them, it’s my opinion.

11. I know y’all have been waiting for this moment. Let’s talk about BTS. Armys, say whatever the f*ck you want, but as a real one, I’m gonna spill the tea. Their music now is worse, too commercial and doesn’t transmit any feeling. Come on, let’s admit it dudes, is the reality.

Boy With Luv ain’t good. Halsey is a good singer with so much potential, Nightmare and Without Me are pretty good examples of this, and they did her so dirty. Also, the lyrics are just cringey. I don’t know about you, but Come be my teacher and your one, your two, don’t say anything to me. In general, I feel like Map Of The Soul: Persona ain’t that good of an album. They could’ve used the concept of Dionysus in all the album, I don’t know, something like greek gods flexin’ their money in all the album, and it could’ve be such a bomb. Make it Right, Home and Dionysus are the only remarkable songs of the album, the rest are just meh, I could listen to them 200 times and they won’t stick to me, they’re just basic and boring. They have changed, my dudes. I feel like they’re not who they were once anymore. It’s a fact that they slay on stage and their voices are stable (not all of their voices tho). Their concerts are bomb, the choreos are amazing and that’s something we cannot deny. (But the inflatable castle for Anpanman was a no for me).
