eight house rules sex, transformations, merged energies, deep attachments & bonding at the deepest level. this is a a highly intense, fated, addictive, intoxicating, sexual & sometimes frightening rxship. expect obsession, control, friendly competition & high physical attraction. the potency of this aspect can be felt the moment partners meet one another & will intensify the more partners get to know one another. but if partners can handle it, this connection can lead to a beautiful & long lasting rxship, with great learning & genuine devotion. the concept of soul mates being found in eighth house synastry can be true.

within this synastry, everything is felt too much & seems more intense; even a simple glance can send shivers down one’s spine, even small disputes will be hard to forgive & forget. partners will have the highest of highs together & the lowest of lows together. platonic or sexual, interactions with one another will have a very intense undertone. it can even be an enemies to lovers dynamic or a love/hate rxship that hurts so good. the connection becomes much deeper than partner’s anticipated. they planned to have a noncommittal & fun arrangement. but they suddenly want to have an official rxship & hate when that cant be fulfilled. it’s hard for partners to just be “cool” or “superficial” with each other.

Why am i just now finding out about the word “limerence?”

I was reading about my 8th house Venus on Reddit and someone mentioned the word and how people with this placement can often confuse love with limerence. I never heard of the word before so i had to google it and boy….. this explains a lot lmao.

I just watched a video on how limerence can be a way that you subconsciously self regulate. Especially when you’re going through something traumatic or going through a big change in life. In the video, the woman talks about how during these life upheavals, we be needing emotional connection and to basically feel like we have someone to talk to during these times and when we feel like we don’t have that outlet, the limerence comes in and we create a fantasy surrounding a particular person that borders on obsession.

I have Venus in the 8th house in both system. In tropical i have 7th house ruler in the 8th house + Venus in Scorpio. and in sidereal i have 8h Venus + 8h ruler in its own house.

Whenever i do research on these placements i see a lot of things about obsession but no one ever mentions the root of said problem.

Anyways, after watching that video i was thinking back to the 2 times i experienced limerence and its like a lightbulb went off.

8th house rules death, transformations, misfortune, and extreme ups and downs.

My 3rd house (transportation) ruler is in the 8th house and I remember my first time acting like a crazy obsessed stalker was after i got into an accident and destroyed my first car. I was in high school and i had JUST got that car a few months before the accident and that shit devastated me. My moon is in the 3rd house and i have an emotional connection to my cars. Having a car to me is freedom and i felt like my freedom was taken away. I was also suddenly going through a bunch of other shit around that time. but a month before it happened, i had just semi-ended a situation-ship with the person who took my virginity after he basically dropped me for someone else. It’s so crazy cause i remember being fine and chill about the whole situation with that person but then i got into that accident and it’s like something switched in my brain lmao. It took me almost 2 years to recover from that obsession.

I don’t think i wanna get into the story of The 2nd time i experienced limerence because it’s way too personal but i do know that it was another situationship that i knew wasn’t going anywhere. And again, initially when things ended i was really cool and chill about it. Even got into a relationship with someone who treated me good until something unrelated *happened* almost a year of being no contact with the other person. and the situation cause that switch in my brain to activate my nutty side😭

I’m happy that i know this now so that i can stop it from happening in the future. But it also makes me sad because those were some dark dark times that i always promise myself that i would never go back to. No one, and i mean literally no one, knows the extent of how bad life was for me from 18-22. Everyday I wish i could go back in time and talk to my younger self. I’m literally crying now as i type this cause i remember feeling soso lost and i feel so bad for younger me. I feel like i failed her.

✧ Rising sign and MC both together have heavy effects on one's aura. Based on them, others form the first impression. They're both about public self and how do we seem and are perceived in the world. That's because Venus is an ethereal planet. But when a malefic planet like Pluto, Mars or Saturn is placed in the first house or makes conjuction to MC, it often darkens one's aura. Libra rising having Pluto conjuct the first house may have a dark Venusian appearance. Their aura could have darker spots in it or the aura's shade could be darker than usually Libra rising would have.

MC in conjuction with a planet/an asteroid could modify one's aura. MC in Scorpio would typically be perceived as mysterious and resentful in public life, but the Sun close to MC may brighten the aura. This could be an example of a sunny aura, with bright and warm colours in it. 💫

For example if you have the Moon in your eighth house, it could indicate that the legacy you'll be given, it's from your mother figure. Venus in eighth house could indicate legacy from your partner. If these planets are close to MC, then it could indicate legacy to your mother or partner. 🌜

If you don't have planets in your eighth house, it doesn't immediately mean that you won't be given any legacy. It's the most possible indicator of legacy in astrology. The sign that rules your eighth house could be an indication of the person you'll be given from as well. Earth signs, especially Taurus or Capricorn may represent legacy from an authoritarive figure. (And the sign where MC is in, it could be the person who you'll give your legacy to).

VENUS IN THE 8th HOUSE; Observations

I’ll be honest, sometimes I find myself getting annoyed with how often this placement is talked about. I see it mentioned in nearly every astro post related to love, sex, and beauty. This placement is constantly being discussed. So, I guess it just proves the point that this placement really does draw in a ton of obsessive attention. It is honestly crazy, and in a way I feel bad for those with this placement. I think people overlook all their other qualities in favor of their sexual appeal. It is almost like other people can’t see beyond their appearance and allure. As a result, these natives draw in many people who want to own them rather than get to know them. How is that any fun? These individuals are incredibly sensitive and deserve to experience deep love. Instead, they find themselves surrounded by jealousy and a life plagued by themes of possession. The love they received growing up was not safe and consistent, making it hard for them to navigate adult relationships. They themselves are possessive over others because the only times in which they felt valued was when they were possessed. They have an incredibly difficult time distinguishing between love and possession, and find themselves trapped within a cycle of codependent relationships. They are in constant need of a “favorite person” who will help them walk through the difficult aspects of life. They hold a deep mistrust towards others and will test people to see how far their loyalty actually goes. To make things more frustrating, these types are not the most forthcoming with their feelings. They often play a game of hot and cold, not because they’re purposely trying to hurt others, but because they’re afraid of vulnerability. Those with this placement have a lot of love to give, so they’re not willing to give this up to someone who they can’t trust. However, during these periods in which they are single, they ponder about what type of person they could give this love to instead of giving it to themselves. It is important for them to build up a strong sense of self love, otherwise they’re always going to be searching for outside validation. They also enter many secret relationships. There is always an excuse for these secrets, but ultimately it comes back to these types not wanting to be open and vulnerable. They feel more comfortable expressing love in the shadows. But this behavior only impedes their growth. People with this placement want to immediately jump to the deeper aspects of a relationship without realizing that it's important to move through the surface level first. In relationships, the darker more taboo aspects will appear before learning about the partners public life. Ultimately, there is a lot of conflict hidden behind the glamor of Venus, leaving these natives unsure of where exactly they stand within relationships.

I'm sorry if this feels critical, I just feel as though there are deeper aspects of Venus being in the 8th house that aren't explored. There is more to this placement other than sex and beauty.

earlier in february, i quoted @liberationastro's tweet about the 8H and how it relates to dreaming — going over its connection to dream spellwork, prophetic dreams, etc.

i got several responses from my followers who are also 8H placements:

the twelfth house has a strong reputation for dreams and our unconscious state, but i feel like the qualities found in this house are a bit different !! i elaborated on those differences in the set of tweets below
