Scribble: Scorpio & Pluto Rising

First post here! This is a brainstorm on what it feels like to be a Scorpio Rising, Pluto (Rx) conjunct ASC (personal case here). Any given position can't be generalized, but this configuration definitely colors my personality BIG TIME! I'm sure other fellow plutonians will agree on this… let me know!

Pluto Square = internet observations

The World Wide Web was created on 6 August 1991, in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to the astro-databank, Tim Berners-Lee formally introduced his project to the world on the alt.hypertext newsgroup. This date marked the debut of the Web as a publicly available service. I am going with this date as this is the main … thing for … the world wide web lol.

The internet, as we know it, is a largely Aquarian thing, with the dot-com bubble following as Pluto entered Sagittarius. But since we’re talking about Pluto, we’re going to look at the Internet. I think this is the most important example of what happens during a Pluto square. NOW, we have quite some time before Pluto perfects that square. Something that I am noticing about Plutonian energy is that yes, it is intense in nature. Naturally, you will start to feel the more intense things first, right? It’s how we’re beginning to see the effects of Pluto in Aquarius without it not actually being there yet.

Another thing I’m noticing is that pluto – though intense – likes to ease its way into signs. It usually stops in a sign for a few months, then most of the year, then it starts its 20 year path. That’s what I’m seeing with Pluto – we will spend 80% of the year with Pluto in Aquarius.

Except, of course, September 18th and November 18th. You know. During an election year. Very good news.

[I will write about Pluto in Capricorn thoughts later as this is turning into a ramble, but with Pluto relating to power and Capricorn relating to power structures built – this literally manifesting into power in the corporations and money making interests – I think that will be a very interesting look at those last few months during the election. At this point, I have given up on electoral politics entirely, but! I wonder how that last hurrah in Pluto in Capricorn will feel after spending 80% of the year with the Power materializing into the People.]

Back to what I was saying. Pluto will not yet be at 17 degrees Aquarius for some time, but I can already see changes brewing within the internet sphere.

People are exhausted with the social media sites. The draw of them was to help connect with people you knew in a different, more meaningful way – different than the forums, ircs and Bbs of the time. This was back when anonymity was valued, your art getting posted everywhere meant you made it big, AND there was little financial incentive to tie yourself to your online identity.

I will not pretend I understood the original draw of all of the social medias – I can’t even fathom an inference. I mean, it seemed obvious facebook was about sharing memories and making friends, creating groups and talking to people. IG was about sharing pics quick. YouTube was about recording yourself with rudimentary software and Twitter was about talking about what you were up to.

What. The hell. Happened?

As Pluto has been dipping its toe into Aquarius, I have been seeing a lot more complaints about this. I predicted this, but let’s elaborate in a more meaningful way so that you’re able to apply this with you and your friends.

There’s a lot to think about when it comes to the way that we use the internet. I believe it was Summie who said that gifs used to be just gifs, but now they’re all advertisements in some way. Like a Fresh Prince gif used to be a Fresh Prince gif. But now, it’s a Fresh Prince gif along with Paramount+, so you create that mental connection instantly to know where you *could* watch it if for some reason this dancing image of carlton spurred you into that.

Reminds me of when I watched Fresh Prince on TBS and I noticed that everything was so much faster, and then a few years later there was a reddit post about how all syndicated shows on TBS are like, xyz faster to fit in more ads.

Speaking of GIFs, GIFs used to be artful. 256 colors or less, a beautiful dither. We did so much more with so much less, and I think that’s what I’m trying to get at here.

Of course, with time, things change. That’s what Pluto squares kinda examine if we’re looking at it from an as above, so below perspective. But I don’t think it’s ever been this, shitty…

So many apps have hired psychologists to pick the right colors, use the right hand movements to keep us hooked. The algorithms are trended towards whatever the user is most likely to interact with – good or bad. People are being rewarded for spreading misinformation, DISinformation. Almost all socials (idk about tungle) are feeding every bit of UGC into their own personal LLMs to create … chat bots. Connecting any of these accounts shares data between the socials, and enhances each consumer profile to sell to advertisers.

And don’t get me started about this app listening shit.

No, what’s really infuriating is the apps that intentionally get shittier and then force you to pay for shit you already had previously. The ones that are baiting you into feeling miserable. The bird app is unusable because you have to block 10 people a day, mute 5 words, and lock comments in order to get a semblance of peace. Like, why do I want to use an app that does that? Why do I want to feed into this garbage? Why do I want to constantly get trapped into this machine?

I think in 2024, we’re standing on business as far as understanding the types of stimuli we let ourselves engage with. I feel like this square is helping us understand how far we strayed away – and I believe that with the Aquarius aspect, we’re going back to our roots as far as the internet goes. I see reddit being hyped up, and every time I see it it’s because of its forum like aspects. We could just go to a forum.

I go on forums all the time still. I plan on running one in 2024. I can’t STAND discord (which also uses LLMs) … Skype was always horrible too. Voice chatting, hmmm… well we’ll have to think ab this entirely bc of how GenA/I is working with voices… hmmm…

I feel like Streaming will be big. Public Access is coming back – I feel like there’s a lot of Power to the People and Power to the Demagoguery ass shit going on. Independent music (no spotify/apple music), independent videos (youtube, other apps ARE coming out though. Could YouTube be unseated? In 20 years, YES.) Independent creativity. The problem will *seem* to be the lack of funding, but just like I said earlier – we can do so much, with so little.

But Public Access TV shows are coming. If you haven’t started your stream or your YouTube or whatever, you should! Right now!

We’re straying away from algorithm based trends and aspects and we’re rebuilding our muscles into seeking out the things we believe we will like. I’m going to go back on soundcloud and I’m handcrafting my music tastes again, no algorithms.

[Sorry, another rant: there was nothing worse than me listening to a song and thinking I’m the only one in the world listening to it, and then I would hear it on numerous coworkers spotify radios without our accounts ever interacting. Like I couldn’t even bop to the song. As an Aquarius Venus this is so serious to me.]

Another thing is – we’re going back to internet safety. Four years ago, I had a dream that I needed to change my passwords. I changed them all immediately and told all my friends to do so as well. I’m not sure what happened after – I guess I could look it up. But, that restarted my journey into caring about my digital hygiene. I think that’s a big word in 2024. Digital Hygiene.

But, one thing to watch out for? Tech accelerationism. I am not sure why people are so vested into the end of humanity as we know it. Why do people want to transcend humanity when we haven’t even begun to understand the different parts of ourselves yet? I feel like research into humans is still deeply in its infancy to give up on humanity and the earth like this.

I think for my last little piece, one thing I’ve noticed is that when Pluto goes into a Sign, the connotation of the sign changes RADICALLY from what it used to. I saw this in a tweet (I’ll edit this post with the tweet when I find it) where Capricorns used to be seen as broke and miserable but now they’re seen as money makers, methodical, etc.

Aquarius is seen as futuristic, nostalgic, technological. People and the self. In the book I use for most of my correspondences, The Rulership Book by Rex Bills, and Capricorn and Aquarius had the least amount of rulerships. I think it’s because the outers didn’t really touch either of these signs until the late 20th century, so there wasn’t a lot of things to reference besides the inner planet stuff.

Pluto is the last of the outers to complete this most recent Aquarius transit. I feel like during this time, we will be looking at tech accelerationism and pushing future nostalgia to its limits. As I come up with more theories, I’ll let you know, but I’m excited!

Pluto in Scorpio gen-

I think it’s largely gonna be up to us to try to clean up the mess from Pluto in Capricorn. While corporations ran wild with the most insane power they ever had during Pluto in Capricorn, I also see that Pluto over those years has helped to reveal what was being buried from us, making the general public aware about all this corporate corruption.

I hope that Pluto in Aquarius, the sign of society’s water bearer, can ultimately help pave the way to societies where the power is at least a little more in the hands of the people. And we need the influence of people with Pluto at home♏️ in their charts to achieve this (the generation also known as millennials that are getting old enough to become politicians or hold other high ranking positions in society).

I think it’s really interesting that there was such an emphasis on other outer planets in Capricorn during the Pluto in Scorpio period when millennials were born. Neptune was in Capricorn over the vast majority of Pluto in Scorpio, and Uranus was in Capricorn for over half of it. Saturn in Capricorn also happened during about the middle range of Pluto in Scorpio, and Saturn’s meeting with Neptune and/or Uranus during these few years provided another influence to increase the desire and advantage of people in this generation to change the structures we have known.

Maybe all this understanding of Capricorn’s influence with generational planets that reflect society, can help those of us with Pluto in Scorpio to remedy the mess that Pluto in Capricorn made society so aware of.

Pluto in Aquarius will square the Plutos of all of us with Pluto in Scorpio at some time during its transit over the next 19 years. But no seriously substantial transformation in society has taken place without people being pushed to action by *tense* dynamics.

Get ready to be the change you want to see, fellow Pluto in Scorpios/millennials! And screw anyone saying we don’t have what it takes! The planet that transforms societal corruption is AT HOME in our charts! And I already see the ways millennials are not only helping to transform society, but the ways that so many are transforming their family lines; which is where it all starts. There’s a reason we’re called “The therapy generation”. It definitely seems to me that we are the first generation to put as much deliberation as we have towards generational trauma, and how to heal it. ❤️‍🩹

At the Eleventh Hour

As you all should know by now, any placements mentioned here, if it doesn't sound like your experience in life, should not be quickly chalked up as incorrect. There may be other aspects ganging up on a certain planet or what not.

► Mars, regardless of the sign, if placed in one of the Earth Houses are usually big spenders.

► Neptune and Uranus, when together in the same House and/or Sign, can cause paranoia over that house as it will be the area where you think you have control but in reality, you do not. I may post more on this, but I am still trying to look at it in every angle (hehe) so... yeah.

► While I agree that Mercury conjunct Mars are the worst ones when it comes to debate, it is only because if there are no other planets backing up Mercury or Mars. Sun conjunct Mercury isn’t good either if you already have the Mercury conjunct Mars, as it will only reinforce that the native has to prove that they are right no matter what. Got a big ego.

► Aside from Venus, you can also look at someone’s Jupiter sign to check if you will both have similar takes on life.

► Venus in a Cardinal sign is what I think of when I see descriptions of how Venus in a Fixed sign acts towards a relationship. It is also one of the Planets where a Cardinal sign's desire of power shows the most, along with Pluto.

► Venus in a Fixed sign is what I think of when someone tells a story of how a Venus in a Mutable sign acts. After all, "Commitment" is one of the many words associated with Fixed signs.

► Venus in a Mutable sign is what I think of when someone says how a Venus in a Cardinal sign acts in a relationship. While they are flighty, Mutable signs almost always sticks to one, even if temporarily.

► Ah yes, Pluto in Virgo. Half of the Baby Boomers and Gen X. Thinking they already figured it out and knows everything there is to know, yet is afraid to be criticized by those younger than them.

► Pluto in Libra and their need to fucking save the world when all they are doing is adjusting their tone of voice to whoever they are talking to.

► Pluto in Scorpio and Sagittarius keeps on clashing. The former only views the world in a black and white frame, while the latter can understand everything that is happening around them but is sometimes too dumb to act.

► In a few years or so, Pluto in Capricorn will join the aforementioned signs in the fight. Spoiler: Pluto in Scorpio generation will be the one who will watch the two clash.

Basically:

I did not bother putting in Pluto in Leo gen bc… I’m too lazy to drag their asses.

► Any water sign ruling the 9th House, from what I've noticed, never hold grudges and is always.... out there.

► Moon conjunct Ascendant people usually has deep set eyes, no matter the ethnicity. Also, can be a mimic if they want to.

► Venus in the 4th House people would rather stay single than marry someone who's mindset is not similar to theirs.

► Mars square Pluto is an aspect that is most likely to explode out of nowhere compared to the others (Opposition, Trine, Sextile, & Conjunction). I did read a post here that Squares are more on the outside while the Opposition is more on internal. I stand corrected, it is Squares that deals more inwardly while characteristics of Oppositions are more shown outwardly. (If you know the post that I'm talking about, please post the link under this post so I can immediately put it on for others to read it as well)

► Moon in the 1st House people are always accused of being/acting childish. Just because they wear their heart on their sleeve doesn't mean they're childish.

► You may be talking to a person and they seem normal then BOOM their Uranus is in the 4th House.

► The King of Horror, Vincent Price, has Venus in his 5th House. Yep. He's an art collector and advocate after all. I'll say this, the most nicest people in Hollywood are the ones that works mainly on horror genre.

Uranus in 4th probably.

The Archetypes of a Plutonic person

In modern western astrology, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, and by Mars in Traditional astrology. I will focus on the former for this post.

I am a Scorpio rising, with the Moon and Pluto in my first house in that sign, aspecting a lot in my chart. I wanted to reflect on what it is, the impact it has on one's personality and experience of life.

The Phoenix

People with heavy plutonic placements often say they've lived multiples lives, in the sense of having worn multiple identities throughout the years, following drastic changes that are reflected on the outside.

Because a key word of heavy pluto influences is transformation. The ability to change everything about you and to be born anew. I've myself been through so many strange and harrowing experiences that I felt like a different person time and time again.

It's the tendency to go through cycles of destruction and creation. Sometimes caused by a harrowing experience that hit you from the outside, like the sudden death of a loved one, an intense spiritual experience, a mental health crisis, a tower moment, if you will. However sometimes it comes from the inside, like a deep restless knowing that there is a need to shed old skin once more.

And you must always answer the call. Because, to not do it would feel like death, and there is this intense pull towards life, and really to these people, life is about constant change, movement and evolution.

There is this idea of transmuting into something more by bonding and merging with something else, be it a person or a thing. To be a being of passions and feverish obsessions. Constantly absorbing new ideas and letting them shape who you are.

It's the necessity to learn to let go when you need to... but paradoxically to also struggle to at times, because there is this knowing that once you've closed the chapter, things will forever be different. And I deeply know the heaviness of it. It's especially true of pain. Strangely enough it's once thing that's hard to let go. Grief, regrets, traumas, sometimes one can identify with it so much that releasing it feels like losing a part of yourself.

The Lover

I briefly mentioned that above, but yeah, passions and drive are two massive other keywords.

There is that need to seek intensity in experiences. Everything plutonian do is motivated by the deep desire to feel as much as possible from something, because you want to get to the bottom of it and that means feeling it with every fibers of your being, losing yourself a bit in the process but not fearing it because you know you will find yourself on the other side of the tunnel.

That's why the Lover is an archetype, and it goes beyond romantic love. It's being a Lover of Life itself. A quest to see yourself in the mirror of the Other, the Other being each living and non-living thing you become enamored with.

There is beauty in losing yourself and absorbing something else in the process. A passionate kiss that makes time stop for a moment. A moment of eternity that makes everything fall into place.

The Seer

This is about being able to see what lies under the surface, and to be fair, it's so natural to plutonian that they may forget that not everyone sees the world like that. Sometimes you may doubt to see anything at all and need constant reminders and reassurance.

These placements often indicates a strong pull towards esoterism and perhaps psychic abilities. As always you're free to explore that or not but it's something I notice in myself and others.

Beyond the esoteric, it's the ability to see people for what they really are, to see beyond the social masks we all wear, and I'm thankful for my other placements, because in my case, I tend to see the best in people and don't hold grudges for their faults because I can see mine clearly as well.

It's quite exhausting to be fair and is the reason why I spend most of my time in a bubble, shielding myself from the world around me, peaking outside of it when I feel like it, because to live outside of it fully is not sustainable, or a least I haven't found the way yet.

The Ruler

Last theme I will go over is the Ruler. There is often this idea thrown around that plutonic people have some type of aura or power about them that people notice. And to go back to myself once more, I can definitely feel it and can sort of manipulate that pulse when I focus on it.There's a lot to say about it considering non-fluffly glamour magic and stuff...will go back to it in a future post.

However you need to be mindful of the impact of your words and actions, because it is easy to know where to hit if you want to hurt or heal, which is why it is paramount to cultivate a sense of justice, balance and empathy so that you don't become a tyrant.

I've once been told that to be a good leader, you must first learn to be a good ruler to the kingdom of yourself. That means ruling with fairness, balancing kindness and resolve, and really embracing the positive traits of that archetype and mellowing the negative ones.

Because I truly believe these placements are not to be feared or hated and can do so much good, as long as you don't exhaust your empathy in the process.

Coming of of age

It’s interesting that all these films came out in the generation of the people who were born with Pluto in Scorpio, but came out in a Pluto in Sagittarius generation and Capricorn. All of these signs. Specially Capricorn and Scorpio have heavy karma coming due with the ruling planets being Pluto and Saturn I think these films really shows what Millennials, and possibly some Genzie really faced with the thing of being overly sexualised satanic imagery growing up too fast. Maybe need for this film and this program are both really influential and really showed the culture of that time of an out of the age group and you can still watch it now and feel that of that generation, especially with the film literally came out when I was 13 but a lot of people talk about with these TV shows from when they were that age. Luckily I didn’t watch either of them till I was in my 30s. Maybe it would’ve affected me more if I’d watch them at that age.

No because let's talk about how during Pluto in Scorpio (1983-), phones were shades of darker colors. They were big, thick, hard and looked intimidating af and then when Pluto entered Sagittarius (1995-), phones started getting all funky fun, experimental, colorful and looked a lil childish.

Not to mention that during Pluto in Scorpio, the phones had to be programmed manually by the buyer.

And then when Pluto entered Capricorn (2008-), the rise of the smart phones came- the sleek super simple rectangular shape that all look the same but hey it has everything, it's all in one! It's convenient, it's productive, all easily accessible! There's entertainment, too! And touch screens! That's very Capricorn lmao, making it all really easy and simple.

These actually applies to other gadgets as well, I just said phone idk why.

let’s break it down:

jupiter in 10th house:

jupiter expands and brings natural luck and ease to the house it touches. in this case, it’s expanding 10th house themes which consist of career, calling/vocation, social media, reputation, and your public image to others. you may find that you naturally attract good things when it comes to themes like so.

pluto in 4th house:

pluto represents an area of life which we may dread, where we may face obsession/issues of control, where we experience our greatest transformations, coming from our greatest loses to an area of life that we will master and get even better at. the 4th house represents our private life, home, family members, and what emotionally makes us feel safe and comforted. pluto in 4th house is often an indicator of someone who had a dififcult childhood, or had difficulty with their family, even their mental health (emotional comforts). maybe there’s some kind of greater focus in this area of life too since pluto causes us to obsess over the house themes it’s touching.

opposition aspect meaning:

an opposition aspect is associated with saturnian energy. this aspect calls for balance (makes sense b/c saturn is exalted in libra the zodiac of scales). an opposition means that the 2 planets at hand are working in opposite functions to each other and we tend to swing side to side like a see-saw hehe.

overall interpretation:

there’s many ways this could be interpreted; but this could possibly indicate someone who may be successful in their public life, but it can interefere and cause large transformations in your private life. can also indicate someone who is a little bit power hungry as well and may use others to get on top. but when balancing these energies out this can actually indicate someone who is able to be powerful yet good-natured and healthy in both spheres of life (10th and 4th houses)

The Many Myths About Astrology

There are many myths... and misconceptions about astrology. Of course astrology is rooted deeply in mythology and vise versa, moreso vise versa.

While astrology is a great way to learn about ones' self, ones' limitations, advantages, aspirations, wants and needs, it is often thought of as one life path, which is not really all that true in the way most think of it.

The first and biggest myth about astrology is obviously the sun sign or ascendant myth. Yes, the sun sign and ascendant are important but they are not everything. They are merely part of your chart. In fact, I would argue that the entire chart is equally important, it's just that the ascendant and houses are more personal to the native of the chart.

The second myth is that astrology is set in stone. Well... that myth is actually half-way true. Each placement has a set of correspondences and each aspect will narrow down the correspondences between the two aspecting bodies or points. So eventually, you have it narrowed down to 10,000 or so possible outcomes for life. In fact, Frater Xavier from Mind and Magick explain this really well as well as Gemini Brown and Astro Finesse (shout out to them).
