nothing makes me more insane than the phrase "selling your body" btw. like was i not also selling my body at every other job i've had where i had to be on my feet all day, lifting boxes, working in a warehouse, etc. why is it that sex work is uniquely labeled as "selling your body" while every other job is sorted into another category, no matter how much that job might have a physical impact on your body. lmao.

People get so hateful over Syd and Carmy and it's because they don't want to see a Black woman being loved or desired romantically even if it's fictional. I read this whole thing about a woman emailing a Black romance author and saying something to the effect of "Wow, you fall in love just like we do!" Huh? She kind of outed herself, I guess she picked up the book because she thought it would be jungle fever porn or whatever the fuck—This type of voyeurism is VERY common, I could write essays. Also, the hate towards the Romeo and Juliet casting.
I learned that when people look at Black women and girls, they see sexual objects and it's a direct byproduct of the sex trafficking that occurred during slavery. I don't like phrasing this as "hypersexualization," because i think it's on a different level. There's this wild mythology that Black people's bodies, especially females, are only valuable for labor and sex and anything outside of that is unacceptable and wrong.
Even if Syd and Carmy do get together, people will just hurl stereotypes of her fucking her boss to get ahead or being a gold digger when the first season and second season showed that she is Carmy's peer.
Women can't see themselves in Sydney because she's a dark skinned Black girl. Even though Sydney is kind, smart, drop dead gorgeous, hardworking and talented, people don't think of Black women having those qualities. They project fake and conniving, ugly, dumb, lazy and grifting on Black women.
They direct their hate at the ship because they don't think Carmy is capable of being attracted to Sydney or falling in love with her because Sydney is a Black woman, but not a one dimensional Black woman and Carmy is a white man. Black women being loved by white men is not just condemned in fictional spaces, but in real life, even in 2024.
You could be someone's match in every way like Sydney and Carmy, but if you're a Black woman, you're hated, ostracized and people try to break you up just because your partner's skin color is different and especially because you're not a walking stereotype, reinforcing their racial superiority.
They hate being reminded that you're human and that people can see the human in you.

CHILD OF THE DARK KNIGHT HERO
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: Master Diluc and the one who's learned his trade pairing: platonic!diluc x gn!reader, slight angst to lots of fluff notes: reader has a Vision at one point, may be ooc wc: 0.4K warnings.ᐟ slightly dark at the beginning, mentions of kidnapping, child neglect and abandonment, child labor and human trafficking
Tumblr media
✦ As a child, your mother had abandoned you and your father was never present
✦ Inevitably she found a way to get rid of you by leaving you in the woods and 'promising' that she'd some back - which she never did
✦ Eventually, the Treasure Hoarders snatched you off the side of the road and brought you to their camp and forced you to work
✦ They made you carry their heavy stuff or work with the miners
✦ Soon, there were some 'dirty' Fatui who were doing more than patrolling the area, they were buying children for labor...and you were one of them
✦ You had managed to get out of the establishment and run far off and out of their clutches
✦ When Diluc was returning from a business venture, he found you hidden behind a large tree
✦ He coaxed you into his carriage to bring you to his home. It took quite a while but he didn't give up on you
✦ It took forever for you to allow the maids to clean you up but Diluc told them to follow your pace and flow
✦ The maids were happy to do so since Diluc had no children and they were excited to care for a cute little kid
✦ You received your own room and your meals were brought to you until your injuries healed
✦ Diluc made sure that you received the best clothes made from the best fabrics, the most nourishing food, and he always gave you a hot water bottle that was wrapped in a thick cable knit yarn to ensure you were warm when you slept
✦ After a while, you were well enough to wander around the manor, Diluc stayed out of his office more to make sure that you would feel safe in his home
✦ Sometimes he would leave for a long period of time but he would always come back with lots and lots of gifts - he loves to spoil you, he feels as if you deserve such treatment
✦ It took about a year for you to warm up to him but it happened and after your child brain had gone through, he understood that all you needed was the reassurance that he would protect you
✦ You began to get closer to him and would join him in his office at times, you ate meals with him, and would follow him around in the vineyards
✦ He would sit at your bedside and read you stories after he tucks you into bed
✦ A few times as a child you've climbed into his bed to hide from nightmares and he always welcomed you
✦ He had no problem playing dress up and would gladly be the princess
✦ As you grew, he hired the best private tutors to teach you and give you the best possible education that any child in Mondstat could receive
✦ After you saw him practicing with his claymore in the training grounds, you pestered him to teach you how to use the same type of weapon
✦ At first he was unsure given your weak state but you followed him around for two months with a promise to be careful
✦ This spiraled into you wanting to become a knight and he was a little hesitant due to the possible influence from Kaeya but he agreed and thus began your training
✦ On a side note, your education began to turn to commerce, economy, and business
✦ Since, y'know, he planned to have you inherit the winery
✦ You had begun to join him on charity events in the other nations, galas/balls, business meetings and the like
✦ He tries to keep you away from Kaeya's antics but that didn't work out when Kaeya tried to give you a sip of wine at the dinner table
✦ On the topic of Kaeya he loves you
✦ He brings you to Mondstat with him with Diluc is busy (much to Diluc's chagrin)
✦ With Diluc's guidance, you graduated at the top of your class as a knight and was inducted straight into the Calvary
✦He was so proud of you when you received your Vision
✦ He slowly begins to pass his work onto you to prepare you to take control of the winery
✦ He gives you a position at Angel's Share as a bartender when you become a teenager
✦ Kaeya always gives you a very generous tip when he comes to the tavern. He's tipping 80% instead of 20%
✦ Weekend evenings are spent in the fields surrounding Dawn Winery having picnics or on the water behind the manor
✦ He teaches you how to mix simple drinks and pats your head when you get it right
✦ Additionally, he lets you braid his hair while he does his work
✦ Just you standing on a chair behind him with his hair full of clips and braids
✦ There are little touches of you all around the manor - the portrait of you and him that hangs above the mantle in the sitting room, the vases of flowers that you picked on your adventures outside, the books that now occupy once empty surfaces, a smaller jacket next to his by the front door, the stuffed toys that are sometimes left in the sitting room on accident, and wooden swords that are left by the stairs or in the hallway
✦ Compared to when he first found you, it's like you're a family now
✦ He really did raise you well

i hate when people compare human beings to objects or substances. porn being made illegal would not be the same as caffeine it would be the same as outlawing other forms of abuse. porn is morally wrong because you cannot buy and sell other human beings not because it is addictive or bad for the user. it would still be wrong even if it was good for the user because it causes so much damage to those who are bought and sold for porn.
YES women are not coffee beans! And the irony is that certain types of coffee ARE banned due to human trafficking and forced child labor

The Handmaid’s Tale 5x05 “Fairytale”👀
So we have 2 major storylines: June and Luke's ill-advised bowling date, and the miseducation of Ms. Serena as a late in life handmaid-in-waiting. Shout out to the brief but delightful subplot that involved Moira and Lily getting drunk and shit talking, I would totally ship them. I apologize in advance for the snark this quickly devolved into, there may have been wine involved.
We begin with Serena descending down a long staircase, to greet the martha housekeeper at the bottom (wonder where we've seen this before?). I will say, although the Serena/June handmaid parallels this episode are heavy handed—from the stairs and the green juice healthy breakfast to the flashbacks to the very layout of Serena’s room(!)—I actually didn’t really mind because every scene and detail screaming at us that the handmaid's chunky brown boot shoe is now on the other foot was just kind of karmically delicious. Of course Serena still thinks she has power here (at least at first), as she is wont to delusionally believe, demanding requesting to speak with the Commander Mr. Wheeler. Silly Serena, don't you know the menfolk are very very busy with man business? They don't have time for your foolish female prattle! She's able to briefly forget this rejection and her probable indigestion from that smoothie, as Mrs.Wheeler presents her prized pig guest to her gaggle of wanna be Gilead wife friends, who fawn over Serena and her big belly, to her great satisfaction. It's like a good old fashioned Gilead fake labor show but better! (or is it.... guess we'll have to wait and see)
We flash back in time to see Serena and Naomi sauntering their new teal heels through the sterile hallways of an animal children's shelter: they browse the strays through the observation windows but can't quite imagine adopting a mutt into their home, you never know if they're properly house-trained and anyway, they were thinking more of a purebred (they know a breeder). So wonderful we saved these poor children from their ungodly parents to be put in fitting homes!...oh dear, not my home though. Imagine. Serena asks Naomi if she's been approached about a handmaid yet like she's inquiring if she's been asked to prom. Naomi isn't going to prom does not want a whoreful adult stray handmaid in her house any more than she wants one of these illbread brats poor children. She has white couches, for godsake! This scene cemented my suspicion that Naomi 100% never wanted children to begin with. Honestly I felt like this scene was also kind of a irl commentary on the sad fact of so many foster children in need of love and family, especially older kids, too often viewed as "undesireable" or "damaged" Of course there’s the small matter of Gilead causing huge damage to these kids by stealing them, literally traumatically ripping them from the arms of loving parents and families in many cases (which sadly does also sometimes mirror real life). Have to also call out the easter egg throw out line about Chicago rebel forces "they’ll be put down soon”... bitch, we know they’re still fighting like 6-7 years later, so.
Later we see Serena sitting down at Aunt Lydia's trafficking fertility office to pick out a handmaid from their Gilead mugshots. She doesn't look so excited about the prospect anymore at this point (methinks things might be getting strained with Fred at this point, I guess the Gilead honeymoon is over). Anyone else pause their tv to go look super close/upside down at the Handmaid’s files to see if June was in the bunch (or anyone else we know) and also to try and get a glimpse of the first unfortunate “Offred”? Just me? I actually thought the first file she picked up (who also caught Mr. Waterford's eye) looked like June upside down but upon seriously straining my neck was able to determine it was not (then I remembered I could just screenshot and rotate). Maybe Fred really did have a type, though. Ann Dowd’s physical/face acting as Lydia watches over Serena’s shoulder really cracked me up here.
Tumblr media
(guess that’s poor nameless Offred the first on the right)
It's time for Serena's business call and Mrs. Wheeler leaves her alone because she couldn't possibly wrap her little woman brain around all that business talk (I kind of love how she manages to fawn over Serena while at the same time throwing shade, it's masterful--or deranged--or both). Joseph gets his first one-liner of the episode in “….You think the Gilead information center... focusing on Gilead... is a mistake?” and of course it's hilarious but fuuuck, he and I may both hate to admit that she’s right, fertility is definitely the best spin Gilead could go with in this fucked up limited supply baby crazy world. Unfortunately for her, it’s once again slipped Serena's mind that Gilead hates women, and she gets a swift buh-bye from creepypants Putnam, who by the way keeps getting creepier by the day. Are they purposely putting pasty corpse-like makeup on that poor actor? Random aside, I wonder if the actor is also like a really nice guy who volunteers and saves puppies or something, like how the cast always would say that Joseph Fiennes is just the loveliest person. Anyway, here we get the first mention of Joe’s pet project New Bethlehem, which Warren promptly shits on. Despite JLaw remaining pretty steadily neutral evil so far this season, I actually felt something from him when he said  “or all of this…will have been for nothing”. His motivations lately have felt a bit ambiguous to me, but I did here feel that maybe he really does desperately need it all to mean something: otherwise it means he will have lost Elinor for nothing.
We end Serena' episode arc with the long awaited welcome from Mr. Wheeler, as she prays dutifully at her bedside for everyone to realize how special and smart and superior she is. Even her room here is uncannily reminiscent to me of June’s room at the Waterfords, down to the placement of furniture, window/window seat and door in the same spot (but like a super lux version). I looked away for like a second at the beginning of this next part and when I looked back did a double take because for a split second when he was silhouetted in the doorway I thought wut, NICK?? (I MEAN)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
until I remembered we are being cruelly deprived of our boy for two long episodes. Can't even say for sure it's because they have a similar build in the dark from behind or if I was just that desperate to see him. Anyway. Then I did another double take because I know this actor from this random 1 season show where he plays a character working at a renaissance faire, and that is not relevant at all here except that I don't know how I'm supposed to take him seriously as a villain now when I know him for shirtless slap fighting in mud and going by the moniker "Sir Pizzle Humpsalot" (it's kind of like when I realized Val from "Working Moms" was one of the very serious Swiss "go-between" people who fuck over refuse to work with Nick and June in s2). So Mr. Pizzler Whizzler gives a nice little condescending speech during which she--and we--get it drilled once again into our/her heads that Serena will not be continuing with her absurd working woman ambitions, because what is important now is her womb and its contents and that these contents are kept safe so that they can be taken from her. Yeah, WE GET IT, but does she? FINALLY? Serena still seems to have a fundamental issue with the thought that to other Gileadeans (and wannabe Gileadeans), she might not be more special than the countless other women she was totally fine with considering nothing more than a vessel for babies for her to steal. This does not compute. She weirdly doesn't seem to like being treated like a pet/property/child, herself, though (bet Mark and his ill-advised puppy crush are looking pretty good to her now). We leave her here, fulfilled of her daily dose of prenatal vitamins, yet still feeling strangely unsettled... to be continued...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I mean, upgrade, but still) ---
Over on the still Canada side of Canada (for now, anyway), June is woken up from a Hannah fever dream to a call from Mayday Lily (yay, I love her!). June, Moira and Luke pile into the car for a field trip and flip off some nice Canadian protesters politely (at least one sign said please) telling them to GTFO. They oblige for the day and fuck off to the border, only to get the bad news that Mayday's Gilead contact is stuck on the other side and they're SOL. "Not so!" proclaims Luke, the sudden knight in shining armor. "We shall cross the forest of dangers and rescue the princess from the grasps of the evil queen!" Because he can't wait around for Hannah to appear on tv again with Serena... who is in Canada... ok. I mean it's only been 5-7 years since your daughter was stolen and yeah in all that time the bureaucratic paperwork approach hasn't worked too well (also though, Moira, exactly HOW long did you know about the border camp for?) but sure, right now seems like a great time to suddenly go tromping half-assed into Gilead patrolled woods with no gun, no weapons. Honestly I am really confused by how determined this guy seems to be to repeat history by going into another situation completely unprepared to defend himself and his family, with little else than his bravado and ill-advised optimism. June, however, looks proud and moved by this bravery recklessness and I don't know what I expected because I really do not think Luke brings out the best/smartest in her and she literally got turned on last episode by his pretend murder bluff. I sort of hoped that if anything Moira's common sense alarm would have gone off here a bit more forcefully, but unfortunately she was too busy force feeding us cheesy lines waxing poetic on Luke and June's marriage because they apparently have to try and convince the audience what they are not showing us by telling us.
Moira fucks off to drink with Lily (they got the better end of the deal) and off go June and Luke into the danger woods, holding hands (because I guess this is date night or something). We get an ominous overhead shot of telephone wires far above, giving the sense that nefarious forces are listening/watching, and then it is night in the creepy woods. June starts having trauma flashbacks but insists she's ok, because she still doesn't really think Luke can handle it doesn't want to slow them down. They come upon a corpse hanging from a tree with a "rapist" sign hung from the body. Luke is super disturbed (as would be the normal reaction), June is like same old, same old (her normal is a little different these days) but tells him it wasn't done by Gilead because they "don't use words" (that's only Fred when he's creepy scrabble foreplaying). I wondered if maybe June's murderwoods shenanigans with Fred had spread word and inspired some like minded action in NML?? But am now inclined to think it may have something to do with the people at the end of the episode (not to get ahead). Then it's day again and they finally reach the geocache, but before they can unearth the treasure they are accosted by a young guardian with a gun who I think would actually really love Prince had he been given any chance to know who that was, and it makes me sad that I'm certain he doesn't get the reference. I am going to call this character Guardian Timothee Chalamet from hereon despite later learning his name, Jaeden (they said NO NAMES, Luke) because that's literally all I could think of as soon as we met him. Luke is flustered but June, well accustomed to teenage boys in black training guns on her, doesn’t blink. “Beret”, motherfucker.
Timmy Chalamet is a little brusque and a bit suspicious at first, but he  to warms up quickly once they get to his favorite playfort hideout for shirking patrol duties in (don't blame him, it looks cold and boring out there): an abandoned bowling alley that somehow still has power (guess they found a loophole with the electric company), although they still have to reset the pins manually? Timmy gives them some very basic info on the wives schools (like basically the same info June got from Nick with the added episode-themed commentary reassurance that the "Plums" are treated like princesses, at least for the short time they're there before being married off to potentially old abusive pedos anyway (side note: I kind of love that they have slang like the "plums" and it made me wonder what other Gilead slang has developed amongst certain demographics). But never fear! There is a mysterious thumb drive that holds all the answers (ok I am also kind of side-eyeing looking at you on this one, though, Margaret Atwood--#TT #IYKYK). Why do I have a feeling the thumb drive is not going to make it... Anyway, Timmy C tells them they should stay and hang out because it's too dangerous to go back during the day (even though they were just out there in the daytime, honestly, I think the kid is just lonely but can't really blame him). Luckily his youthful charm is so infectious that Luke immediately forgets that he thinks anyone coming from Gilead is automatically an evil monster (replay start of 2x08 bar scene) and becomes bff’s with him, and anyway he's really excited to bowl because he just really loves bowling. I guess they don’t have bowling alleys in Canada anymore?. Ensue very unwise loud competition and man hollering from this bro fest, which makes June understandably disconcerted, as they are hiding out in enemy patrolled territory, theoretically trying not to get killed.
Luke is like June just needs to chill, how about some music and plays some truly absurd old timey songs on the piano that just happens to be there, before doing what he's been dying to do and busting out his falsetto "Let's Stay Together". A variety of emotions cross June's face, ranging from uncomfortable, affectionately amused, contemplative, conflicted, nostalgic, guilty, sad. She sort of looks like she wishes she could jump in with him and surrender to the sentiment whole heartedly, but her heart is not there and she knows it. She can’t quite bring herself to look him in the eyes, looking down when he tries to catch them. Noticing this, he clowns more for laughs and coaxes her to dance with him, and she finally gives in to the (deceptively) carefree feel of the moment, while sweet bb guardian Timothee finds extra mood lighting (cutest third wheel ever). Also, honorable mention to "Did you write that song?"..."yeah I did"... "wow, that's really good" (oh, the innocence!). I left out the part where they ask him about his life in Gilead and he tells them life "before" is "foggy, like a dream", because this was one heavy handed parallel too many on the Hannah front (and yes, I get it, the episode is called Fairytale). Am curious where they guy got beers from though (black market?) and how he smuggled a cooler full into his hideout without anyone noticing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(which one of these is supposed to be “I’m so in love with this guy singing to me”?)
Then the game's over and they’re taking the scarywoods night shortcut (in hindsight maybe not the best idea but maybe the GROWNUPS here could have sussed that one out). Of course our sweet pure Guardian friend steps on a landmine (we knew from the beginning he was going to be a red shirt, didn't we?), looks terrified but bravely tells them to get back and it's probably fine before he moves a hair and gets blown to smithereens. Just kidding, he just got his leg blown off. He's starting to bleed out and June quickly and calmly goes to work with applying a belt tourniquet (apparently another skill she picked up as a rebel handmaid resistance fighter, or from Youtube) while Luke looks on in horrified shock, a second away from puking (I mean no shade, I'm sure I would, too). Jaeden Timothee Chalament’s guardian friends are calling to him and he White Fang's June and Luke to GTFO so they don't get caught, Luke hesitates and June pulls him up to desperately dash for the border. As she flees, she flashes back--to her and Hannah running in the woods, her running to lead the guardian away in the woods to save Angel's Flight--and this really got me, I found it one of the most (probably the most) genuinely compelling moments of the episode. We end with them surrounded and being dragged away in different directions (foreshadowing perhaps?? who knows). So let us review: every time June gives in to these carefree moments Luke initiates (largely in attempts to win her back as his wife), every time she overlooks her better judgement to concede to his (often ill-founded) optimism, something bad happens. This was the case when Gilead first rose to power and they didn't get out fast enough, and it's still happening now. She lets her guard down, the "old June" starts to seep in, and then BLAMMO, GILEAD IN YOUR FACE, again. Can we just learn the lesson already, June? Honestly, she's already broken the promise she made to Nick like two episodes ago, to keep herself and Nicole safe, because she followed Luke on this half-assed idea to wander into Gilead-patrolled no-man's-land with no gun, no protection and no real plan aside from "find some dude and quote him Prince", so he could "prove himself" or something. To be honest, I actually respected Luke a lot more for doing his thing, that he knows and does well. Fighting with building codes and fundraising  and research file folders and making connections with American bureaucrats. It's certainly not the most effective or quickest way to fight Gilead, but at least it’s something and most wars require multiple levels and strategies of offense and defense. That's his wheelhouse, it's who he is, and he can still be that and also support June in her own way of fighting. And if he really is moved to try her way himself (genuinely, not as some desperate ego driven attempt to not lose her), he needs to get some knowledge because at present he is just not well equipped and is more of a liability than an asset. June may be impulsive and sometimes downright reckless but she at least knows the enemy, she knows the game they're playing and how deadly it is. Luke is trying to play checkers in a game of wizard's chess. His pushing of this mission, in all his inexperience and naïveté , combined with June's natural impulsiveness, her desperation over Hannah AND her eagerness to embrace this new side of Luke that is finally embracing the active fighting side in her, gets them into trouble. And the "fairytale" comes crashing down around them.

Hi! I was wondering if you could recommend me books, articles, essays, or whatever on queer history? like, any time or place (i want to learn as much as I can, but I need a starting place). and like, theory and history specifically by sex workers and kinksters?
if you don't want to dw about it, you can just ignore this message!
First of all, thank you for asking me about my favorite thing to talk about!! having the opportunity to encourage people to learn about this history is a big part of why I’m still here on this blog and it’s also a big reason for why I’m majoring in queer studies and want to become a librarian.
Awhile ago (some of you may remember) I put up a burner g—gle drive with a bunch of these texts, but the post that links to it is now impossible to find (thanks Tumblr) so I’m going to do this one a bit differently. This post is a bit of a mess, my brain is NOT in peak performance condition right now, but I didn't want to miss this opportunity to share either. I added headers, I'm not sure they help much though.
FIRST OFF, KINK:
For kink/leather theory and practice, I will almost always recommend starting with Leatherfolk: Radical sex, politics, people, and practice, edited by Mark Thompson. It is available on the internet archive here, you just make a free account and you can check it out. https://archive.org/details/isbn_9781555831875 (I personally struggle with the internet archive’s lending model, I know I know I’m a bad aspiring librarian. I read quick, but I can’t seem to read THAT quick. So, in case you are like me, this is also available on libgen) Leatherfolk is great in that it includes pieces from both before and after the AIDS crisis, along with many reflections on the impact which the crisis had on the leather community and the community’s response.
From Leatherfolk, I recommend the works of Patrick Califia (who also published work under the name “Pat Califia” prior to his transition). I really liked Public Sex: The Culture of Radical Sex for its investigation into how we have pushed sexuality so far into the private sphere that we are inevitably losing our ability to express it and to find people who share our desires. Public Sex is not currently available on the internet archive, but you can find it on libgen. Patrick doesn’t have a site to pay him directly right now, nor are any of his works in active publication, which is unfortunate because he deserves money for his labor as his work has been pivotal to many kinky queers developing a greater understanding of ourselves, our history, and our community.
To understand the THEORIES of sexual deviancy and kink, I have leaned on the works of Gayle Rubin. Her theory of the charmed circle really helps explain how certain types of sex are heavily policed/politicized, and how certain groups fall further from the center of the circle than others. You can find Gayle Rubin readers on libgen, but she’s also been republished in many different feminist theory readers. I’ve found repubs of the charmed circle all over the place, honestly. There’s a really easy-to-read explainer of her sexual deviation theory in the book “Queer: A Graphic History” by Meg John-Barker and Jules Scheele (this book is very popular at libraries, so I’d start there for a copy if you can’t afford your own).
SEX WORK
Sex work heavily overlaps with the kink stuff, you’ll find discussions of sex work in most of these texts especially in Leatherfolk. For sex work specific research though, my go-to specialist right now is Melissa Hope Ditmore, whose works include Sex Work Matters and The Encyclopedia of Prostitution (available on libgen, but also PAY her if you can because she’s alive and deserves money for her labor). I’m currently debating shelling out for a copy of her newest book, Unbroken Chains, which is a look at human trafficking and I’m sure it is impressive because all of her research has been.
To get into the real lived experience of sex workers, I just finished “Working It: Sex Workers on the Work of Sex” which was edited by Matilda Bickers, peech breshears, and Janis Luna. It was REALLY good. This one you’ll have to pay money for or convince your local library to buy (in my experience, they usually will). I bought my copy from PM press. https://pmpress.org/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1323
DISCLAIMER!!
If you’ve read this far, I want to make a point to address something which I know will come up if you do actually read some of these works. Specifically, I want to address the fact that our community and its history is imperfect, and very culturally contextual. The works of Gayle Rubin and Patrick Califia have been both misconstrued and misguided in their attempts to make sense of the complex relationship between queer youth and queer adults. In the past, both of these individuals have made statements which suggest that they’ve supported relationships between queer adults and queer teenagers. Since then, both of these individuals have either/both changed their position on these issues or clarified that they did not intend to be supportive of these relationships. This is a really important piece of queer history, though. We cannot necessarily easily explain away the fact that for many queer youth in the past, the only way out of an abusive environment was to find a queer adult to take them under their wing. There were not as many ways for queer youth of the past to find and support each other. We are in a position now to understand more fully that this is not a healthy or appropriate model for a romantic or sexual relationship due to the inherent power imbalance, but anyone who wants to do research into historical queer/kink information will need to be prepared to encounter some “problematic” (I kind of hate that word) takes, and to be willing to think critically about the context in which those takes were reached. It is NOT okay for adults to have romantic or sexual relationships with teenagers/youth, but we have to be more willing to understand the ways in which those types of relationships have existed in the past and have even been things that saved lives in the past. Our history and the context in which it occurred will not go away, we can only seek to learn and grow from it.

Witchcraft and Spiritual Practices that didn't work for me
-- There is nothing wrong with these practices at all (except for the few exceptions of my opinions on spirit keeping) This is mostly just logging what doesn't currently work with my energy. --
Tumblr media
Reiki Healing I wanted this to work, and I attended some classes to try this out. I always had trouble with the classic, soothing healing energy to begin with so I wanted to get better at it. In all cases when I tried, the clients had experienced an uncomfortable, burning sensation. A couple of them said it erected some unwanted emotions that pertains to their shadow or trauma. A lot of readers/psychics did tell me that my energy doesn't work or heal myself or others that way, but under the impression of the Tower and the Devil card -- shadow work, triggering people's shadow, and crumbling old and obsessed foundations. It's still under more observations. Faerie Work
This is a mix for me. I have no interest in associating or working with faeries, yet I know I have a faerie living within the perimeters of my home. After testing and vetting some consistencies and inconsistencies, she claims to hate her own kind along with other types of faeries. She admittedly is funny company, and she does help around in her own way so I provide her some sweet cream at times. Our relationship is okay until further notice; I'm still discerning. SHE, herself, is tolerable in my book. But faeries overall, I am skeptical as I am not interested. I'm just caught in a certain situational connection. Under observation... Crystals I actually have a collection of crystals and stones. However, the only thing they provide for me is something appealing to look at. I can never tune in to crystals or rocks alone. Moldavite is probably the closest I can get to working with, but not by that much. The energy from rocks doesn't feel as potent to me, but it's probably just my energy not compatible with this material. I work moreso with organic matter such as bones, skin, insect carcasses, pelts, herbs, fluids...and poppets as the non-organic material. Servitors I admittedly tried this along with working with thoughtforms, but it ended up with my jinn partner intervening and taking its place and preventing any real progress. Works impeccably with me now since I'm more repelled by it due to my own moral code. I'm glad he stepped in instead and I developed this special bond. Thoughtforms also didn't work well for me -- my Family prevented it from happening anyway. "Traditional" Spirit Keeping
I got spirit companions, but none have vessels. If we try anything like that, they'd break it because their energy is too dense. We only use a necklace, a ring, and sigils as a way for their energy to help anchor better back to base. They got their own lives and they got their own pace on how to bond; I don't believe in the concept of binding a soul to an object and someone believing to be entitled to them just being loyal, or loving towards them right off the bat. I am also against most spirit shops because of spirit trafficking, tricksters, and most of all...scams. I also find it a weird concept to think that you have to buy a spirit/entity friend than just going outside to seek some willing companions, or asking yourself with your own ritual and protection to just ask for spirit/entity companionship while practicing discernment. Casting a Circle using only your imagination
This only feels legitimate for me when I actually chalk a circle around me while adding sigils, candles, salt, herbs, and fluids. I'm pretty traditional that way, but I also do it because I feel there's more potent energy with more physical labor on preparing and marinating the energy before I do some serious magic work. Sure, intention is great and it's the vital ingredient to anything, but when I don't physically express that labor of intention out into the physical world at times, it falls flat and fake.
Deity Worship I personally don't believe in the concept of what a god is, nor do I agree with worship -- at least it's not for me. I follow the path mostly of service to self. I just believe they're celebrity entities with lots of power from their influence or knowledge around the roads. However, that doesn't mean I dislike them for I have respects for a few of them from personal experience. You're good to us? We'll be thankful and show it in return. Moon Magic
I know a lot of witches/practitioners who are utilizing the moon phases to get certain results, but I don't really have any connection to the moon. I did some bit of research, did the whole moon water rituals, but I never felt connected nor did it felt like it was connecting to my energy as potently. Moon phases don't really matter to me in the end, and it doesn't make my work any more potent either.
Love and Light
I got absolutely nothing against the term love and light. I honestly don't care what you practice as long as you're not being a dick, or bullying others in a self righteous, one-up contest. Matter fact, if used healthily, I promote this. I actually wanted to follow this path adamantly, but my energy isn't of that world. My energy is more on the chthonic side of the spectrum with baneful/revenge magic working effortlessly like my second nature. It works almost instantly even if I even momentarily stew and think on it. So far, I only intentionally did freezing hexes so the person(s) won't hurt me or themselves -- otherwise, I don't really intent on hurting people other than giving back what's given to me or to my friends. On the extremity of his practice, I don't believe in "good vibes only" since we need the whole spectrum of "vibes" to teach us about life itself and its cycles. It's not productive to deny the dark side of life or ourselves.

Haruka Kou:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of all the siblings, Greed and Pride held similarities.
It was said that all the evil in the world was forged from the seeds of Pride. Whether true or not is unknown.
Pride and Greed shared the same mother. Mephisto, referred to by some as Trigon, kept them together. Seeing Greed and Pride fuel their unique abilities, giving it life and strength of its own.
Pride and Greed were enemies; Rachel and Haruka have a strange relationship. Haruka loves Rachel, he admires that she fights her nature. He sees her as the source; the first sin that forged the rest of them. Rachel however thinks little of him. She despises him and the other siblings for giving in to their demonic essence.
Rachel has a black and white view of evil, and moral grays could be distinguished into the two criteria. At every turn, Rachel would try and bring down Haruka's crime rings Her department within the FBI was used to take down his cartels, unaware they were fighting against one of the 7 deadly sins.
Raven often appeared at his trials to testify against him. Despite this, neither can kill each other. Raven bound by law and her own moral code, knew that to kill her brothers meant becoming Pride in its rawest form.
For Haruka, he loved her and couldn't kill someone he so deeply admired.
Greed:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Greed was often deemed a deceitful beauty. One who thrived at the height of wealth and recognition. Throughout history he whispered in the ears of Genghis Khan, Joseph Stalin and many others. However, Greed wasn't the type to be a power behind the throne. He was driven by narcissism and would insert himself into positions of incredible influence.
Those he corrupts rarely escape his talons. He thrives in tempting their policies for his own amusement or capitol gain. It's not uncommon to see him use this wealth for "charitable" causes. This is a save face tactic to uphold his influence.
The Seven were Mephisto's children, the 7 sins who brought havoc to the cosmos. However, Mephisto himself once came from divine roots but like Lucifer was banished during the Cosmic War.
Each of the Seven carried either angelic or demonic traits. Pride held the twisted features of malice, she took pleasure in the fear she invoked.
Tumblr media
Greed however, was a narcissist and he pleasured in the awe he invoked from his demonic form. Beauty and the false personification of purity was his way to lure his victims in. As a human, he was metrosexual. He prided himself on his looks and the looks of those he brought home. Those who work for him are required to maintain a persona of grace, beauty, luxury and purity.
The Star of Asmodeus was thought to be a myth, a relic from the war and fall of angels. The blade wielded by Lucifer's lover, was now his tomb and was named after him. Greed took the relic, coveting it for its power and ability to kill his kind along with angels and Valkyrie alike.
Having many opportunities to kill Raven with it, he doesn't. The weapon stays on him at all times, trusting no one and no source on Earth to protect it.
Haruka Kou's business specialty is trafficking weapons, drugs, and stolen artifacts on the black market. However, in recent years, he's branched out his network into labor trafficking.
While Rachel Roth and her department has tried many times to bust his networks, with his network being overseas, their jurisdiction proves limited. Haruka takes advantage of her oath to not use her power, else risking exposure by her own people. He knows her limits and uses them to his advantage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
POWERS
Greed Manipulation: Greed was an empath who could tap into innate feelings of greed in his targets using the power of the Seven Deadly Sins, inducing avarice.
Magic: can manipulate mystical energy for a wide variety of effects. He can project powerful blasts of eldritch energy from his upper eyes. He can cast complex illusions that enable him to function in the world of man. He can increase the rate of entropy on living tissue, causing people and animals to age at an accelerated rate.

Scared ! Yes I to when I completed this video .but not to worry . my intention was not to scare you .but just a fucking reality of scary human trafficking which no one wants . just a frightening story reality of human world .
HUMAN TRAFFICKING
A hidden story of Human trafficking where number of human sold every day for profit
ALEENA PAUL || NEW DELHI INDIA
Tumblr media
Hi am just a consciousness raising women and i want to tell my story because we matter our voice matters.
Who are these human and where do they come from ? Mysterious isn’t it ! How do we address them? no Clue I know .these human are fucking layers who trap innocence forcefully for some profit .
Now what exactly human trafficking is ?
Human trafficking means buying and selling of the human being for illegal and unlawful purpose .in other words a illigal business for profit purpose which is done by forcefully .
There are many unsolved mysterious case related human trafficking around the world .
And why they are unsolved in many cases ? Why it take so much time and difficult to solve ?
Due to the complex nature of the crime traffickers often operate under the radar and those trafficked are not identifying as a victim. They acton blame the selves for their situation .this make it more difficult to identify the crime becouse victims rarely report their situation.
The biggest reason is fear, shame and guilty. Guilt can make a person so hopeless the victim blame her self for her own situation . victim shame her self for such activities. A screem which can be heard but ignored due of fear of isolation , financial control , threats , intimidation, physical and sexual violence , fostering drugs and alcohol due to any situation.
Research shows that large amount of human trafficking are involved in sax trafficking, organ trafficking, child labor trafficking and debt bondage in commercial marketing .mostly adult womens and underage girls exploitation of children trends globally.
Tumblr media
Types of human trafficking involved in sex trade , forced labour , domestic servitude , economic sector profit most in daily base are human trafficking , agriculture, restaurant, manufacturing industry , domestic works , entertainment, hospitality, commercial sex industry .
Human recruit by traffickers force to groom nicely for sex activities some kids force to be beg they done violence beaten them burn them take their organ and sold illegally in medical hospital to donors in higher profit .
You can see there is no age boundaries . a small new born till adults are involved in human trafficking.
Tumblr media
Now Human trafficking are not just happen outer environment but inside our home also between our family and relative most kids forced to do marriage some money , children are force to do labor work in field for financial purpose some are debt bondage force kid to do labor work to pay their debt. Now this show not strangers but our own family also work such activities.
How does it begin?
People in sex trafficking situations almost always know and even trust or love their traffickers. Traffickers target vulnerable people who have needs that the traffickers can fill. Sometimes they offer material support – a place to live, clothing, a chance to “get rich quick.” Other times they offer love, emotional support or a sense of belonging. Kidnapping victims and forcing them into the sex trade through violence is rare.
Who are the traffickers?
Traffickers come from all genders, races, ethnicities and walks of life. In sex trafficking situations, they may be intimate partners or spouses of the victims, family members, friends or benefactors, business acquaintances and bosses.
‍Who are the victims?
Anyone can be trafficked, but some people are far more vulnerable than others because they have greater needs. These include people living in poverty or in unstable housing situations, as well as people with a history of trauma or addiction. Because of current and historic discrimination and inequity, people of color, immigrants, and people who identify as LGBTQ+ are more likely to be exploited for these vulnerabilities and face trafficking.
Why don’t victims just leave?
In many cases, people in sex trafficking situations do not see themselves as victims while they are being trafficked. They have been so expertly manipulated or “groomed” that they believe they are making their own choice to engage in commercial sex. These emotional ties are as powerful as being held in handcuffs or behind bars. People in sex trafficking situations may well also depend on their traffickers for physical needs like money or shelter. They may face threats against them or their families or violence if they complain or try to leave.
How do people get out of sex trafficking situations?
Every story is different. What they have in common is resilience. Survivors come to the understanding that they want to leave the situation, and then fight to get out. Sometimes they get help from service providers, or anti trafficking organizations, but the concept of “rescuing” adult sex trafficking victims is misleading and dangerous. Survivors rescue themselves.
How do we reduce or prevent sex trafficking?
Human trafficking doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It is the end result of other inequities in our society and our economic system that make people vulnerable to the enticements of traffickers. So while prosecuting traffickers and seeking justice for survivors is vital, it is not enough by itself to end trafficking. To reduce trafficking at the massive scale of the problem, we need to work together as a society to increase supports and services for vulnerable people and change conditions – like homelessness, family violence, poverty and discrimination – that make people vulnerable to the lure of traffickers

LAW FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Trafficking in Human Beings or Persons is prohibited under the Constitution of India under Article 23 (1)
The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 (ITPA) is the premier legislation for prevention of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.
Criminal Law (amendment) Act 2013 has come into force wherein Section 370 of the Indian Penal Code has been substituted with Section 370 and 370A IPC which provide for comprehensive measures to counter the menace of human trafficking including trafficking of children for exploitation in any form including physical exploitation or any form of sexual exploitation, slavery, servitude, or the forced removal of organs.
Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, which has come into effect from 14th November, 2012 is a special law to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation. It provides precise definitions for different forms of sexual abuse, including penetrative and non-penetrative sexual assault, sexual harassment.
There are other specific legislations enacted relating to trafficking in women and children Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976, Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, apart from specific Sections in the IPC, e.g. Sections 372 and 373 deal with selling and buying of girls for the purpose of prostitution.
State Governments have also enacted specific legislations to deal with the issue
ROLE OF STATES INVOLVED IN Human trafficking
A compulsory high-quality education, income generation and employment opportunities should be created.
Promote high-quality programmes for teachers in government schools.
A preventive measure by different nations should be shared among each other to help both the countries in preventing trafficking.
  NGOs
The community should keep a vigilant watch on the movement of child victims of the area of traffickers.
They should educate and ensure to make parents are aware about the safe migration practice.
Media
Media has a very important role due to major viewership.
Transmitting the appropriate message to the victim to ensure that they have a backup and are not alone.
A programme to make citizens aware of places and institutions to seek help in case if they are victimised.
Educate and spread awareness that human trafficking is illegal and inappropriate and that it has negative consequences.
People need to speak out and let this issue be known so that human slave trade will come to an end.
To begin solving the issue for human trafficking, everybody needs to start fundraising. Raising money for this issue will not only help by bringing awareness to this modern day slavery, it could help prevent it. Donations are relied on to help maintain nonprofits that help shelter homes for victims.
At last I just want to say ……
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” —Edward Everett

That little ass comment box and it’s limits on the length I can type is driving me nuts. Let’s do this on a clean post 🙃.
@khalif-horton
I don’t know Yvette Carnell like that; I only know of her looking for a gold sticker for whatever she’s doing/done and being a leader of an organization. I’m not in search of a leader. I’m firm on lineage-based federal and state reparations for Black Americans (preferably federal before states), an Anti-Black Hate Crime bill and data disaggregation. Lineage-based because our ancestors built the United States through forced chattel labor that others immigrated to, and you can’t do anything to benefit one race (so they say 🙃) because it violates the 14th amendment.
Data disaggregation makes things clearer in wealth disparity amongst other things, but also for anyone having that strange identity crisis as to who they truly are simply because they were born in the United States. This is why lineage matters. I can’t be me while they’re being me and them simultaneously. Hence the student union example. Disaggregation should’ve been done, but wasn’t as another layered undermining tactic. Heavy state and federal penalties needs to be attached with falsifying to simply garner whatever benefits and resources. You also won’t have shit like the likes of Rachel Dolezal and Mindy Kaling’s brother sliding through.
Racially Black people are different ethnic groups with distinct histories, cultures and the ancestral lands where our ancestors were ultimately rooted. We’ll prob disagree on that. You’re a Pan-African and I am not.
Reparations is not for racism. It’s a debt owed. But I also want genocide and theft in there which links to Jim Crow and it’s governmental sanctions, the bombing and torch of our businesses and towns that were kept desolate or turned into lakes, 15 million acres of land—including farmland and heirs property—stolen down to 1 million acres left, etc. People be out here passing around videos of Black Americans being exterminated by the slave patrol police like white people used to do with those postcards of lynching barbecues. It’s genocide. (It’s not lost on me it happens to other racially Black people who look like us.)
Black Americans make up 50% of the homeless in our country, including our vets and those on Skid Row. Our median wealth is projected to be 0 by 2053. We have to advocate for us. Ain’t nobody coming to save us. People are just onlooking. Ain’t no UN coming despite us checking off every box per their definition of genocide:
Killing members of the group;
Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [black maternal mortality]
Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. [that child trafficking CPS that remove a child for any reason they choose and ASFA]
So, you don’t support a particular form of reparations, but you’ve been involved in reparations work for 2 years? What does that even mean?
CARICOM has their own reparations plan going to get what’s owed from that damn Queen and other countries that played a part in the enslavement and labor of their ancestors. The African Union has their own thing going for the Scramble for Africa. Black Americans will not survive without reparations and the country won’t survive without us. The government knows it. It’s spite. People know. So what do you support specifically as redress for Black Americans?
SN: What I mean by “racially” Black - We know race doesn’t exist, but is a caste here which people who immigrate or are born here via immigrants are funneled into by choice or not. Opposed to “Black” as an ethnicity, which some Black Americans still use like an ethnic group.
And about that celebrate part you mentioned in your other comment. I’m doing it for the ancestors. Ancestors like Callie Guy House and Isaiah Dickerson been leading the way, like when they started The National Ex-Slave Mutual Relief Bounty and Pension Association in 1894. People like them were waking up other ancestors to be firm in knowing they were owed. A lot of Black Americans today have awakened while others are continuing to wake up. So I celebrate for the ancestors even if it’s small strides leading to bigger ones.
